Working with Vanderbilt on our mortgage took a while and it seemed like we had to sign extensions five times. The length of time it took to get things figured out was frustrating. There were times we got answers back to our questions fairly quickly. But most times, it took a while to wait. It took them two days just to send an email sometimes and I was also always talking to someone different. I must have worked with three people and some of them were really nice but it was very hard to get a hold of them. We would call and call, and when they wouldn't answer, we'd leave messages. The only time Vanderbilt got back to us was when we called the home manufacturer and then they would get a hold of Vanderbilt. If we had an easier way to communicate with them, the experience would have been a lot better.

I had a good experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage. Conducting business with them was relatively easy. Their loan specialist was easy to work with as well. Her name was Ashley and she did the work and she did it well. She was always responsive when I called to ask her questions. Vanderbilt did the regular process of collecting information and processing. At that time, I was waiting to sell my house but because our house wasn't sold and time ran out, we had to redo the underwriting and application. So far, I'm satisfied with the way everything went and if someone were to ask me about Vanderbilt, I would tell them that they were fair with me and they did their work efficiently. They did a good job.

It was my first time buying a house and I was very satisfied with my experience with Vanderbilt. My loan specialist was a good guy. He asked me if I had any questions or stuff that I didn’t understand and he would explain them to me. I understood everything clearly. The application and the underwriting took four months, and they notified me and kept me up to date on when I was gonna be having my loan closed. They worked with me to take care of that process and it was whenever it was a convenient time for me. I would recommend them.

Everything was good and turned out fine when I applied for a loan with Vanderbilt. They were fairly easy to deal with and very communicative. I got constant calls and emails from them making sure that I was getting them the right info and if they couldn't get a hold of me, they got a hold of my wife. I was also able to get with my loan specialist, Diego, or his assistants, and I was impressed with his willingness to get my loan approved. Their process seemed fair to me and for the most part, everything went smoothly. But the application and underwriting took a month and a half to complete because Vanderbilt had an issue dealing with my work. They needed two years continuous employment and since I worked for a company that has a camp agency crew that works with it, I was at camp at first then I got hired on full time in September. So, Vanderbilt kinda had an issue confirming that I was working with the same company

The loan agent was really easy to work with. I felt really good working with her. I’m glad she was my loan agent.

Vanderbilt was wonderful. The mortgage part was within three months and it was easy with them. They called me and made sure that I had everything I needed and they answered every question that I had because I had a lot. They were just very personable and treated me like they actually wanted my business. Also, My FHA person explained everything to me and she made sure that I was comfortable with the home loan terms and that I knew what I was signing. It was just black and white and there was nothing hidden. Everybody, from beginning to end, was great to work with and they were always available when I needed them. They were right on point the whole entire way and they made me happy that I chose Vanderbilt. I referred one of my friends to them and she got a home shortly after I did.

Vanderbilt did a really good job. They verified my income and figured out how much everything was gonna cost. They made sure I could afford the payments. I spoke with a couple of people there and they were good. They referred to me by my first name, which was nice, and they gave me time to get the information that they needed. I was impressed with the speed with which they pushed the process through and the application and underwriting took two weeks. They were also readily available and upfront. Plus, they were very friendly and very easy to work with.

The application and the underwriting process with Vanderbilt took about six weeks. Vanderbilt was really good to us. They were really nice people and they did everything I had. I enjoyed my interactions with my loan specialists. I worked with two people -- a guy and a girl. Lauren was one of them who was helping us the most. The ability to work around me with my work was impressive. I'd asked them to call my fiancée and they'd call her instead. I had to come home that May because I had thought about something, I had to call them and they were really polite about everything. I had a lot of questions as this was my first home and any little thing that I asked, it was answered professionally.
Working with Vanderbilt, overall, was easy. It was just mainly the time and how long it took. It felt like it went on for a while. I work six weeks then I get laid off and wait for the next job. I didn't have a steady income so I was always jumping but that's how my line of work is. It would be nice if there was some kind of process that's just purely off to W2's because I made $85,000 last year, but because I didn’t have a steady income I felt like I got hassled a little bit with that.
They ran the price of the trailer and I bargained hard with this lady who sold me the trailer. I got the price down to $46,000 and then I got the sales tax too which I was looking at around $50,000. Vanderbilt was telling me that I was approved for $65,000 and they said with zero down. Then they came back later and was trying to make me put money down so they just kinda switched.
As for the transparency of Vanderbilt's lending process, I didn't like it too much. I didn't know if it's with Vanderbilt or whoever I did the closing with. I had to close and sign all these papers, and the gal was just trying to tell me to sign something. I had the paper and I started reading it and it was not that I don’t have to go to court with Vanderbilt but I couldn't bring them to court. I felt like a lot of the paperwork, they beat around the bush. They try to get me to sign stuff that they weren’t making me very aware of. Somehow, I didn't quite comprehend how I went from $45,000 up to $56,000. I understand I got tax title and license and interest but it was just that when we were doing our closing paperwork, I felt like there was a lot of stuff just thrown in there. So if anyone asks about Vanderbilt, they were very nice people but pay attention to the contract that you're signing.

The Vanderbilt representatives explained everything to me and answered any kind of question I had to ask them in a way that I could understand. I was nervous and they gave me time. They were very polite and helpful. They did everything perfectly and it was a wonderful experience.

I also want to thank Candace who took care of me when Tony wasn’t available.

I love how transparent Vanderbilt’s lending process was. I also appreciate the communication and the fact that they made the process easy. And when we had issues, they told us exactly what we needed to do to fix the issue. We were approved and closed in 30 days and they worked with us as far as calling us every step telling us what they needed from what we sent or trying to understand things. They were really involved, always helping and they told us what was going on. When we first found the one home we wanted, they gave us a price, and my mom said that we can't afford it. The lady we were working with told her the loan amount that she needed to look at. It was just real quick, and it was all good.

I tried to set my payment every two weeks instead of once a month but Vanderbilt said I was supposed to do it before the loan process was done. So, I missed out on that. I wish they could be more upfront about what needs to be done before the closing part. Other than that, their reps were good and anytime I had a question, they answered it. They were professional and it wasn't hard to communicate with them. The application and underwriting process took about a month and it was easy to do business with Vanderbilt.

The Vanderbilt Mortgage application and underwriting process was pretty quick. It only took less than a month. They called me and explained how everything worked in a detailed manner and I understood what they were talking about pretty well. If I had any questions, they gave me a number where I could call. Also, the loan specialist was being honest. It was pretty easy to conduct business with Vanderbilt and through working with them, I got a new place for my kids to live. I already recommended this company to a couple of friends.

For a first-time homebuyer, having our mortgage through Vanderbilt went smooth. They were able to break down everything. We had an extension number to one lady that we worked with throughout the loan process. It wasn't complicated. After dealing with multiple people every time we call, we stuck with that one lender who already knew us. So it made the experience that much easier for us.
Any questions I had to ask, she gave me a quick answer and made it easy to understand. And if it's something that they can't tell me off the top of their heads, they will call back with an answer. And it's also usually very quick, like the same business day. Making the experience simple and easy to understand has made it a really pleasant experience. They're easy to work with and they're able to accommodate anything you ask.

Vanderbilt Mortgage did well in helping to close my loan. The only issue I had with them was the one time that someone forgot to file something which held up the process for a little while. That has taken them longer than what it should have, like verifying my employment, and so they had to take almost two weeks. In the end, the application and underwriting process took about a month and a half to be completed. Also, I had originally communicated to Vanderbilt that I wanted to do utilities and water included. And with that, be able to waive in the home before I had to start paying on it but it never got included. They said that they would see what could happen and that's understandable but they didn’t even try to do anything with me or ask me anything about it.
On the other hand, I was most impressed with the fact that Vanderbilt actually work reasonably quick to get me an initial offer through the loan. It came to me at a rapid pace. And while I didn’t have many interactions with my loan specialist, Tammy did well and was very nice. Yet they also could have let me know what was going on a little bit more. I was able to call but it was hard to get a hold of somebody. Other than that, the overall transparency of the lending process was very good. They were very open in letting me know what was going on when they did speak with me about everything.
In general, conducting a business with Vanderbilt was really easy and everything went well once everything got done. It was a good experience except for that one slight hiccup with the paperwork from the one in Oregon and them not including my utilities. But things happen and I should have been a little bit more open about that. So, I'd recommend them but others should make sure that they are on top of their paperwork and make sure that everything gets taken care of.

Their loan specialist was extremely nice and was very involved with everything. I asked her everything I needed to know and she got all my questions answered. Since working with Vanderbilt, I've found them to be a good loan service. However, the only problem we had was that whenever they came, it took them almost two weeks to bring the papers to us after we signed at closing. Still, Vanderbilt gave us a great deal and they helped us get a loan when nobody else would.

Vanderbilt Mortgage worked with us. The underwriting process took a few days to be completed and it really did not take that long. The longest part was getting the house put together because the weather turned bad, so we had to wait for the weather to clear up. But, other than that, if it hadn’t been for the weather, they would have been done extremely quick with everything. Talking to them was very easy. If the payment wasn’t where we were comfortable with it, Randy, our loan specialist, would try to get it down lower. He would call and check in and go over everything with us until we were satisfied with it. He kept us informed on everything, too. They always called back pretty quickly. Once we made the decision to go ahead, everything was simple as far as the phone calls and talking to the different departments. One drawback was that every time I called, I got somebody different. It was hard to talk to the same representative from the last time I called. Also, a lot of times when they called, it was while I was at work. But those are the only things that I didn’t like about it. Everything else was good. They were all nice and friendly. One time, there was a mix up on one of the addresses and they called and asked questions about it. Then I realized what happened with it and called them back. I clarified all that and it went real smooth. It didn’t really delay the process that much.

There was a little bit of an issue with my company in getting me the pay confirmation. My husband and I started the process to purchase a home in March. We have had nothing but problems since. Mainly just a lack of communication which in turn has made the process taken even longer than anticipated. We've sent in the necessary documents that we were asked for in the very beginning. Waited about 2 weeks or so without hearing anything only to find out that they hadn't received what they needed from the broker or so they said (who really knows because they didn't contact us or the broker). My husband tried calling several different times and several different people, left multiple messages and voicemails.
It took over a week to finally get someone to answer the phone. After receiving the documents they needed they continue to ask for more every time we send what they asked for. Originally it was the last 2 months bank statements, now it's the last 4 months and they want my husband's paycheck stubs (Which isn't a problem we know they need to see that the money is there and where it's coming from). We understand this is a lengthy and meticulous process, but we feel like Vanderbilt has definitely dropped the ball on our mortgage loan and drawn this process out.

The application and underwriting process took not even a month and I had a really good experience with them. I had two to three specialists who I talked to and they were really helpful. One name was Geoff and the other was Cassie. Communication was very easy 'cause they gave me phone numbers, and if I needed something for a certain portion, they'd give me a phone number to them and transfer me if I needed it. They kept me up to date on everything, and they called at least once or two and informed what was going on, which helped. And they didn’t leave me around hanging. If I have a problem or if I needed something, they were there to answer everything for me.
I purchased another house through a credit union a year or two prior to purchasing this one, and it took me three months and they never called to check up on me or anything. It was really hard for me to keep up with anything, and then they kept changing it last minute only. And they changed my closing date three times, which was an awful experience. When I dealt with Vanderbilt this time, it was really smooth and easy. When they set the deadline, it was easy to meet it. I appreciated that if they didn’t know an answer to something, they fess up and were willing to commit it. But since it was an FHA Mortgage, there was some additional documentation needed that we were not aware of and it was very confusing trying to go back and get the required documentation from the lenders after. Other than that, they've done a good job. I had to make a change in my life and they were the only ones who were going to do it.

When I went in to Vanderbilt, the sales rep handed me an application which I filled out by hand. That was a little antiquated. But I heard from somebody at Vanderbilt a couple of days later and it was the smoothest loan process I’ve ever dealt with. They were on it. I had a couple of questions and everybody was very helpful and nice. And they were all very knowledgeable. It was a good experience. Although at first, it was a little slow going getting somebody to respond in an email that I had sent, that was just because they were out of town working somewhere else. Otherwise, they kept me updated.
They also said that I had good credit so I was able to get into one of their upper loan packages which was nice. They gave me the best rate they could. On the front side, the loan process was great. But when it came time to get ready to close, I almost walked away from the deal. My main loan specialist went out on the road so somebody else gave me the final numbers on the phone before I went to go sign. He was a very nice guy and he handled me pretty well. But his numbers were not accurate and I disputed them. I had talked to my manager at the home manufacturer's and those weren't the numbers we had talked about.
I called my manager and we hashed it out. She got the stand-in loan specialist on the phone and said his numbers were all wrong. But then he said that those weren't the numbers he had given me. That absolutely blew me away. Where would I have gotten those numbers from? It felt like fuzzy math when it came to the numbers at the end. It was shady. Then the numbers that came were even more different. They were still within my price but I didn't want to spend that kind of money, and I tried to tell them that. In my mind, it felt like they were saying, “Oh, she can get whatever she wants. Why is she lowballing us on this?” So they were nickel and diming me to death. In fact, they still are.
My manager had done a little extra for me in the loan ‘cause I had to build the property up a little bit, which was fine. In fact, I appreciated it. I didn’t have to come up with the cash but I’m still being nickel and dimed to death. There is stuff that I was told in the beginning was part of my loan but now, they’re telling me it’s not part of my loan. But the issue was on the side of the home manufacturer and their subcontractors. I would still tell others to give Vanderbilt a shot. It was an easy loan process and I was fairly pleased with my experience with them.

Vanderbilt's application and underwriting process took a month. I got a callback but the experience was a bit difficult. Just to call in and ask questions was frustrating. One lender would go on vacation and transfer me to the other one. And when that one goes on vacation, the cycle goes on. I was being shuffled around. Not getting the same person every time was the most difficult part. Nonetheless, their customer service was good except for one man. He was short and not as helpful as the ladies I was talking to. I've done loans before and this one with Vanderbilt went really quick. The application and underwriting process took less than two weeks. We closed through a local agency in Oklahoma City which was easier for me because it was there. I had a phone conversation with Vanderbilt and the good thing about it was that they checked my mailing address to make sure that it was correct. But I was a little bit upset with them because they wouldn't work with me on a payment date. They were due-dating the first and I don't get paid until the first of every month. Then their rep suggested that I send the check the middle of the month before the payment was due. I said, "How can I do that if I don't have the money in my account. I just needed to adjust my pay date for about six days." And she said they can't do that. Other than that, the plan was good.
I've had a lot of loans in my lifetime and this is the first time that I've ever really had somebody who said, "No, we won't do that." Nonetheless, I just got my credit back on track again after going through a bad spell. Life happens sometimes and it catches up with you. But I don't wanna have payments and stuff on my credit again because I've finally got it good again and I wanna keep it good. There were three different people that I spoke to during the process of the loan and they were easy to communicate with. There was always somebody there for the most part to answer the phone. It was easy to conduct business with Vanderbilt for the most part.

And then they called me after everything was done to see if I was satisfied with everything. They asked me if I had any problem with the person that was dealing with me. I told them, “No.” It went pretty good. I had Elizabeth who is a kind person. She showed me her warmness. Vanderbilt Mortgage ran all the stuff that they were supposed to run and whatever they wanted to know when we were ready to close, we just let the rep know. The paperwork was all generated and we closed a little while after. We were approved for a long time before we closed because we were still debating and negotiating on the price of the home.
I started working with one guy that did a good job and then, all of a sudden, I started talking to somebody else but they were up to speed with everything. The communication was easy. They've put in on my credit report saying, "Oh, well, you owe $100,000 for your house," and I was starting making the payments and I haven't even got the keys to the place yet. My monthly premium is more within my monthly payment because of the best years. There is also a card with me with Regions Bank.

I was very pleased with everyone I dealt with from Vanderbilt. If I had a question with anything and whatever I needed, they were there for me. I had a hundred questions and it could be really nerve-wracking on what you're doing for someone to take a timeout, listen to you, and help you out on whatever you had, but the reps from Vanderbilt didn't care at all. And that was nice. Ethan, the person doing different things, was very helpful and friendly too. He would call me and tell me what they were doing. The only issue I had was that it would take a couple of days before someone would get back with me. It was not a big deal though because they have a lot going on. Other than that, everything went nice and smooth with the process. It was a quick process and I could't ask for a better one. I'd tell people that if they want something, Vanderbilt would be the company to call.

My experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage has been great. I’ve never processed a home loan that fast before. I had complete approval within the day and I was able to go forward from there. Everything has been good and the loan specialists were fantastic. I’ve got a very good credit score, I make a lot of money, and I've got a lot of accounts, but they knew exactly what was going on. They explained everything very well and step-by-step, and they have it down to a science. If we didn’t understand something, we just asked them and they explained it. That way, we knew what to write in there and everything was right when we filled out the paperwork.
I liked the lending process. We did a lot of it over the phone. It was actually very easily done and it took me no time at all to get everything done and said. When the time came to sign all the paperwork, they had these shipped or faxed, then we sat down with their lawyer or representative and got everything done and finished. The home is already set up on my property and we started moving into it last week. They’re very good people at Vanderbilt and I’d tell friends to use them as the company to get their home through.

The way that they kept in contact was pretty good and that was what we liked most about the lending process. They were always emailing us on stuff to let us know what was going on. When we had questions, we’d call and leave them a message, and they’d call us right back. Vanderbilt did a wonderful job. I'd tell a friend that Vanderbilt Mortgage is a good outfit to go through and that they worked well with us.

Yet everything went fast as they said and the entire process took a couple of weeks. We turned in an application and it wasn't probably the next day when we already had a representative call and talk to me. They taught me through the process and told me what they're gonna do. This is my first time buying a home so I had quite a few questions. They explained everything and they answered any questions I had. They put everything out there and they didn't try to hide anything. The rep I dealt with gave me a lot of information and she went above and beyond. It's very easy to communicate with them. I talked with Ashley two or three times. She was always available whenever I called and every step of the way, she called me and let me know what was going on with the loan. I appreciated the professional courtesy that she had given. We had talked about the savings and everything with my old mobile home. A week later Ashley had called me and told me that there have been some changes made in the loan process and payments. Several of my fees have a payment of $35 a month. We went with that then I went up and paid the down payment with them.
Vanderbilt Mortgage has done a fabulous job. It's easy to conduct business with them. Whenever I have problems, I would always talk to them and discuss the problems and I get them out of the way. I would set where anybody could actually be better than Vanderbilt. They've got a good establishment to earn on the lending process. My communication with their reps was good and whenever I asked them a question, they answered me back. Then, I did the same thing. Everyone went out of their way to help me out with my application. I went out and got whatever my rep needed, too. She also worked with me to try to get it done right away. The process took about a couple of weeks because I had to wait from ground level but it didn’t take much of my time. Right now, I’m about ready to move in. My daughters really liked their services as well and my oldest daughter wants to get into buying a home, too. Should anyone ask me about Vanderbilt, I would tell them to go over to see Trudy and talk with her.

I got approved with Vanderbilt Mortgage on November 23rd and it was finalized in the middle of January. But it was good because it was Christmas and Thanksgiving, so I understand that, plus the New Year, so it took some time. And it was okay with me because I knew I wasn’t gonna be at home right away. They emailed me with stuff and needed extra documents, and I had to wait until the banks were open because of the holidays. Vanderbilt’s loan process was great.
The loan specialist called me and walked me through it. She also answered all my questions, so it was great. She emailed me whenever she needed more documents. The actual home agency I bought the home through was a hot mess but Vanderbilt was great. They need to keep doing what they’re doing. I would tell my friends that I like Vanderbilt. It was a smooth process. The communication was great, and I got questions answered right away. I'm excited.

Coming up with some of Vanderbilt's documentation felt like there was an urgency that I didn’t understand, then all of a sudden, everything just came to a halt for a week or so. And the paperwork, in terms of my filling it out, took a couple of hours. Nonetheless, communicating with their reps was very straightforward. In fact, they kept the conversation up from their end very well. I spoken with Misty with some frequency and Daniel too. And they both seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. They were helpful and eager to be available. I didn’t feel I had a great need for them but they made themselves very available via e-mail and phone. They also contacted me several times during the process and said, “If you need anything, call us.” They went out of their way to make things clear to me.

Communicating with Vanderbilt Mortgage was simple. Drew, the guy at Springfield, said he would take care of everything we needed. Usually, we get a letter and then we contact Drew, then he gets ahold of our loan specialist. It was just three or four days to get the letter and then we contacted them. We were notified of everything, they were fast about it and there were no hiccups. It took less than a month.

When I applied with Vanderbilt, their lending process was self-explanatory. I told them my situation and they told me from the get-go, before I even filled up my application, what their criteria were and which criterion I'd be in. I knew how to get approved then I filled out the application and dropped it off back at the home center. Vanderbilt notified me on the same day to let me know that they received my application. A text message let me know that a loan officer would be in touch with me in a couple days and later, Vanderbilt contacted me through email. Then they called me. It took three to four days from the time that I submitted my application to the time that they gave me a conditional offer.
Vanderbilt had to keep changing my numbers until I finally decided on the one that I liked and they were with me every step of the way. Once I decided on the home that I was going to go with and they decided to get the closing done, it was easy to get everything they were asking for to them, as well as to get everything verified and set up for me to close. They notified me about what I needed to do and that I got to make sure to get it to them at a timely manner which helped speed things along. My loan originator, Keni, walked me through step by step every time there was a change done by the home center or there were things that they added or took off. She would notify me what the new numbers were and what I was looking at until it finally got to a point that everything was set in stone and she was able to send everything over to the next department.
Then another lady called and explained to me how she needed to verify my appointment with my income stubs and my tax information for the last couple of years. I was able to take those things to the home center and they made copies of it. Then, they sent it up to Vanderbilt who then went on and put my application through to the final approval department. Once they received final approval, I was set to close. Vanderbilt then notified the home center where I was buying my home to let them know that they were ready for me to close. I went to the home center and I found my closing document there. Then I signed the closing documents in my office. I have referred Vanderbilt to people and told them how Vanderbilt worked with me and made sure that I was happy. Also, Vanderbilt has a sister company out there called 21st Mortgage and I would recommend them over 21st Mortgage.

The application and underwriting process with Vanderbilt took some days and my daughter was really in most of it for me. I have my own insurance and there was something in there about my escrow which I don’t really have. I won’t be paying taxes because I'm in my daughter and son-in-law's property, so I didn’t need any escrow coming out at all. I just want the amount of my mobile home itself and that’s what I’m paying for. We've been trying to get this payment deal resolved for about a month now. My daughter has been working on this for me because she knows it more about this escrow business and I didn’t know a thing about it. So, everything is new to us with buying this mobile home.
My daughter has been trying to talk to Vanderbilt about this issue and we haven't been able to get across with anybody with that yet. I need to get that done as it’s still important that we did that. Nevertheless, everybody was very helpful and did their part during the loan process. I had more problems with the manufacturer than anything but it was easy to communicate with Vanderbilt. I was turned over to different people with each department and everybody was good. Overall, Vanderbilt's lending process seemed to have gone well and I would tell my friends to go with them.

All around, Vanderbilt seemed like a great company. They were recommended to me by a couple of folks. And when I purchased my home, they had a bunch of different mortgage lenders. I did my research and my homework and me and wife collectively chose Vanderbilt. I'm a first-time homebuyer and I'm so excited. My home is beautiful. Me and my wife picked out the home that we wanted and Vanderbilt made sure we got it. They did a fantastic job of getting me to point where I needed to be and gathering all the information and making sure they had everything done right the first time. Good team over there. There were times when I needed to speak with them and they always had someone available. It was addressed quickly. We communicated through email, phone, and text message. They made everything convenient for me. Both the application and underwriting process didn’t take that long. Just a couple of months.
Sarah, our loan specialist handled the situation and the whole process great. She was very professional with everything. It was very easy communicating with her. She was available any time I needed to speak with her. If she was out of the office or on vacation, there was someone that they had that would step right in and get my issues resolved. If there was someone in another division I needed to speak to, she made sure that they contacted me at their earliest and my earliest convenience. I would highly recommend Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was super helpful. They made the loan process smooth and that was the easy part. I submitted the application May 26 and I closed on August 11 last year. There was a lady who took the application and she was so helpful in explaining the process and what steps. Then it went to Tanya, and she finalized everything. She was willing to explain the process and gave updates as far as where we were at. And even when the loan closed, she followed up during the construction of the home.
Every time I called, they were so kind in explaining things. They even emailed me often. We were able to do a lot of transactions through email as far as documentation that they needed. That was helpful and it saved time. Their communication was excellent and that's important when you are on this side of things and especially when you have not gone through it or have no understanding of the home loan process. Been in this home 2 years and it's falling apart. There is no way to get this home refinance and get a lower mortgage because home has no equity. The insurance company and the home protection plan we purchase for five years of protection is owned and operated by Vanderbilt. The home protection plan was suppose to protect any problems that happen after the one year warranty ended. So far they don't cover anything like the carpet pulling away and bulking up cracks in the baseboards around the house, the closets weren't finished so now the sheetrock in them are cracking. Every time I call about something they send out an adjuster to review the claim and then say it doesn't affect the structure so it's not covered. I thought this company was going to be a good company to do business with but they are just another predatory loan company that preys on people. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I started with Vanderbilt Mortgage back in July of last year. My situation was a little complicated though. I lived in a mobile home that's in my dad's name. So, when I went to purchase a new home of my own, I told my father. Through his agreement, I was going to pay off the home that was in his name because I was the one making the payments. But I included that home in the new deal with my new home and Vanderbilt had a difficult time because I talked to a girl in the middle of last month and she said that my paperwork was in and that the deal was done. They had sent an audit for my paperwork and there was a couple of things that I needed to initial. I sent that back and she said that it was good. So, the deal was complete.
I asked her if she was sure because the payment for the other home is due April 1st and she said that it was good, that they are going to pay off the loan, that the only thing I owe is for the new home and that the payment will be due May 1st. But then Vanderbilt kept calling back for the other home loan that's not even in my name. I've been dealing with that for the past two days. Nobody can figure out what exactly is going on. A guy named Brett had my dad call, put me on his loan so Brett was able to talk to me about it. I talked to them today and they still don’t exactly know what was going on. I spoke to Alex which is on Brett's team and he told me that he would call me back in about an hour but I haven't heard from him yet.
My concern and my father's concern is if they turn that in to some collection agency and ding his credit even though that loan should be paid off and that dent would be on my payments now. The loan with my father shouldn't even exist anymore. My experience with Vanderbilt was great. It's just that here at the end, all the things that I thought were in line, everybody has questions about and not everyone in the loop understands because everybody that I speak to says that I have to go speak to a supervisor or they have to talk to their manager. But everybody that calls me back is a different person so we have to start over every time.

Vanderbilt saw what options I had and adjusted what they could to help make the payments a little easier. They told me what I had already out for loans and that I would need stuff for the house, so they worked with me to manage to do that. The only thing that needed to be tweaked was maybe adding a section for a house like some furniture after getting the house. The loan process was pretty straightforward and it took about three days. They gave me the first rep and I spoke with him and they tried to get the process done as well as they could. We wound up going a different route and a different house, and we wound up working out better for what I can afford, which is the house I got now.
I asked questions about the loan and stuff, and Vanderbilt was easy to work with. I like the knowledge of the staff, their ability to work with me, and get what needed to get done on the phone. They know how to keep up to date and they're pretty good on keeping in touch on some things. It was very easy to get a hold of them, and they know exactly where to send you if they don’t have the proper answer to the question that you may have. The Vanderbilt people are pretty good about doing their job right.

I originally had a Longwood Country Place. The house was ordered done but the mortgage people let the loan expire and then decided to tell me 10 days after Christmas. They had put it to my charge that they were going to run on my credit, and so I tried to explain to them that my debt and income are going to be different. Vanderbilt's representative heard the story about how we had gotten run around and how we had a house that had been ordered, built and just sitting there. Vanderbilt jumped on, kicked butts, and literally the whole process was done in 10 days. I spoke several times a day with different people at Vanderbilt. We got screwed completely over at the Country Place but Vanderbilt literally did everything perfect for my finance with what I got from my bank. We walked in there with the credit score right at 800, offered what was unbelievable for a mobile home, and picked up the house of our dreams that we never really imagined we'll get.
The whole process can be confusing but when I compare the whole rigmarole and the lies and what happened with the other place and then I look at how I knew every step that what was happening and I was updated in, I just knew. I was explained on what was going on. Vanderbilt's lending process was very transparent and very simple. They probably need to adjust, but it was very easy to understand. Bruce was the loan specialist I spoke with and the Vanderbilt people were awesome. Everyone we talked to was extremely genuine and they were concerned about what our family had gone through. With that previous Country Place, it was over nine months waiting before everything was finally done.
But it happened to be that the day I went to the previous Country Place, Vanderbilt was there. They said, "Let’s go have your information. We've made you an offer several months ago. We realized we were looking at a different house now because things have changed." Everyone was super sympathetic to our situation. They treated us right and did their best to honestly right the wrong that happened. I couldn’t ask for more than what this company did to get us a home. Vanderbilt made everything right and as quick of a time as humanly possible. They made it all happen and they did what they said they were going to do.

There were a few minor stuff that I had an issue with when we used Vanderbilt. The first house went a little bit bad. They did everything and in some kind of way, it was more than what my credit would approve so that didn’t work out. I went to another one and it was like a back and forth thing. They finally said, “We’ll go with a newer one.” And it was a lot cheaper than the original one we were looking at. I wanted the one that was there on the lot. The other ones they had were taken so we went with that one.
When we did a finance application, they didn’t know exactly what I would be approved of. That should be better because at first it they said, “Okay, you can get this one” so that was the one I was looking at. And the next one, the newer one, I had an issue with that too. I had to do the will on that. That was the only way I could get the newer one for some reason. Vanderbilt called me during the process. But I haven’t moved in the house yet because I still I'm still lacking the will. It’s hard to find somebody to do a will. The only thing I got now is they want me to send in a payment but I thought I wouldn't start making my payment until I moved in. My experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage was great, although the application and underwriting process took a while because we went a couple of different routes. At first, we went FHA and I decided I didn’t really care for that and I didn’t like the way that was going so I went conventional. It took almost about a year. Vanderbilt did everything that I asked them to do and everything was fair. The only improvement is when one person called me and no matter if I called their phone number, then they called my phone directly back I ended up at a totally different office and I got to figure out who called. But it was very easy to stay in communication with Vanderbilt during the loan process. If I didn’t get somebody on the phone when I called, they called back.
Everything was great with my loan specialist. I started out with Diego, then with all of his group who was lower than him. They all did a good job. Once we got it switched to the conventional, it was quick and it went a lot quicker than FHA. Diego was right on top of it. It was never, “Let me call you back.” He would answer any questions I had while we were on the phone. And if he had to call back, it was within the next 30 to 45 minutes. When the numbers didn’t agree, I would sort it out on where exactly the line-items were coming from and customer service was very helpful. The application and underwriting process took just a few weeks from the time we purchased the house to when it was finalized. In the beginning, Vanderbilt Mortgage was a little picky about the items I needed to provide, sometimes unnecessarily, but for my situation, it wasn’t overbearing.
My interactions with the loan specialist were excellent and they were very prompt in answering any inquiries. But I had some issues where the analysts weren’t on the same page with each other, so things got reported to one of the loan officers that wasn’t communicated to the others. And because of this, the reps were asking for things which had already been provided over and over. That was a little headache and it delayed the loan process a little by a few weeks, but I’m happy overall.
I'm impressed with their willingness to answer questions and that they did not shy away from anything I needed to be answered. I was impressed with the whole loan process of Vanderbilt Mortgage. When I went down and tried to get a new loan at my bank that I bank with all the time, they wouldn't even talk to me about a loan, especially on a mobile home. But when I went and put the application in with Vanderbilt, I figured I was going to get denied again, but it was approved with the conditions that I get my truck paid off. They talked to the lot where I got the trailer from. They explained to them what was going on and they got the trailer lot to pay off my truck for me, free and clear, so it didn't go on the tail of the loan.
During the application and the underwriting process, I had a bunch of other things going on, so it took longer than normal and it was fine. It would have been a faster process had I not had other things going on at the same time. Vanderbilt helped to get my truck paid off and they worked with me. They understood the situation at the time. They've been in the situation and know people who have been like that before. They were even concerned about my brother and how he was doing. They didn't have to ask anything about him but they showed care and concern. Communicating with them wasn't hard at all. If I had a question about something, I could call them right up and it wouldn't take long at all to get the answers that I needed because they were really good on their response time.
Their loan specialist was very kind and courteous. If I didn't understand something, she would explain it to me in easier terms. And Vanderbilt really made sure that I understood what was going on so it was a nice loan application to go through. I could not have asked for a better loan application or process to go through. They did a fantastic job and it was a great loan process. And if I buy another trailer, I'd go back to them again.

Vanderbilt's loan officers are friendly and they keep in touch with you so you’re not left in the dark. My loan specialist told me all the information that they needed and made sure that they called me daily to keep me updated with what was going on with the loan and what all was needed. She did great and overall, it was easy to conduct business with Vanderbilt. They helped me with the things that needed to be paid off or let me know so that it would be more affordable for me. They let the company that I was going through know everything that had to be written off and that company made sure it got done. The process took about a month and it went fairly smoothly.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was excellent to work with. They’ve kept us in the loop on everything. When we hit a snag on something, they’d call and say, “Hey, here’s what’s going on. Here’s what we’re doing.” The application and underwriting process wasn't that long. We just got into a holdup because of the land that we had chosen first. We had to back up and regroup because of the land that we had chosen. We ended up with a problem on getting it. The man who owned it ended up in bankruptcy. The bank agreed to sell it, but then they jacked the price up. They doubled the profit. So we said no.
Everybody at Vanderbilt that we talked to was friendly and helpful. They were upfront with just about everything and that goes a long way with me. The loan specialist was very easy to communicate with. They gave us their direct extensions so we could get right directly to them. I’m happy with the way everything’s went. I’d recommend to my friends financing through you all.

I financed my other home with Vanderbilt before so they’re good. The process took two weeks and they tried to help me out with all the stuff, how much the payment was going to be monthly and when to start the payments. Everything was all right and quick. It was also easy to communicate with the staff as they knew their stuff. They were nice and courteous and tell you what’s going on. They took care of everything. I talked to one of the people that worked for my loan specialist and he explained everything to me. I asked a question and he answered it. He tried to connect with the specialist but I didn’t have the chance to talk to her. She didn’t call back which she should have done. If a person wants to get a callback from the manager, you should get one from them.

I would send an email to Vanderbilt and I would hear back from them in twenty minutes. If I have questions, I would just give them a call. They did an awesome job communicating. It took six months to process my application and I asked Kasie, the loan specialist, how long it would be before closing and they let me know that they’re waiting on the mobile home to do their part so it wasn’t their fault. It was the mobile home company that slowed everything down. The experience was good and I would tell others to go with Vanderbilt as they have done great with me.

I would recommend people to go through Vanderbilt Mortgage. They've done my loan as fast as possible, but I had all my paperwork together also. The application and underwriting process took about 4 weeks. It was very easy to communicate with them during the process and every time I called, they answered, and they had an answer for me. Emily, the rep I dealt with, was very nice and helpful. It was also easy to get in touch with her and all I had to do was call her extension. She usually had the answers if the questions were just what sort of papers I needed, the phone numbers and to contact the employers. Also, if she couldn't find something out, she went and got more information and called me back that day. Lastly, my house payments were low enough that I could afford it and the insurance was the cheapest that I could find.

I had a great experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage. It took about two or three weeks to finish the process and my interactions with the loan officer were great. They called me when I needed something and everything was good. There were some guys at work who wanted better loans and I told them that if they were going to do what I did, go with Vanderbilt Mortgage.

Vanderbilt was pretty consistent. I had a bad employer and I had a hard time with the HR department answering the phone. But Vanderbilt stayed with them pretty well to get what they were needing. We also had to change the down payment quite a few times to get where we needed to go. It took around two months for the application and the underwriting process.
The only thing was communicating with Vanderbilt, there were a lot of different connections I had to go through like extension lines. There should be a few different branches of it with different calling numbers so I didn't have to call one bloke and be sent to another bloke. But if anybody is in my situation, being a young guy who is first time homeowner, Vanderbilt would be a good thing. They were pretty clear with their lending process.

Vanderbilt Mortgage answered every time I needed them and kept up with me to get all the information pretty fast, which I did. They were also very accurate with getting back any information or any question that I had with them. The loan specialist, Rebecca, called me to ask for information on certain things then on days that I got really busy and forgot to get back to her, she would shoot me an email and remind me of the things that I needed to get back to her. She was there the whole time. I never had to worry about her calling me back, not getting information that I needed or answering questions that I needed. I was very pleased with her. They were really good to me and I had a great experience with Vanderbilt. They just asked for things that I would never have thought to be asked for. Still, the process was done in a total of two weeks and it was the easiest experience I’ve had.

The Vanderbilt Mortgage application and underwriting process took about almost two months. Tammy was the financial officer that was assigned to us but we never got in touch with her. Only the workers that were there helped us. We told them we wanted to talk to Tammy but she never responded back to our call. Also, we insisted on the actual financial discussion of what amount was being financed and the percentage was with the person that came that we can sit down with because the seller said that she’s not supposed to be involved with that. It was supposed to be from Vanderbilt doing that but we never settled down with the actual people or go about what the amount was. We had a few questions with that but never came up with our seller here and we got it on what was financed by Vanderbilt. They showed it to us and we just went with it.
The Vanderbilt financial officer should respond to the person that is buying the house because that house is very important and the amount that he’s going to spend on that house is valuable to Vanderbilt and also the homeowner. They should contact each other a lot about how much it's going to cost, what the finance charge is, how long it’s going to be and who the insurance provider will be. Communicating with Vanderbilt was quite difficult. The finance officer was supposed to call us and tell us what the financial cost was but she didn't. Furthermore, the lending process was not transparent and it was difficult to conduct business with Vanderbilt Mortgage.

Go through Vanderbilt because they get things done quickly. They work with you through and explain everything. This is my second home from Vanderbilt and we closed on the 12th of February. They were great in helping me close the loan. They told me everything that was happening and when the home would be coming. I was well informed and it was very easy to communicate with them. Daniel, their representative was very thorough.Vanderbilt helped in every way.

The reps from Vanderbilt Mortgage were very helpful and it was extremely easy to communicate with them. I spoke with Stacy, the loan specialist, at first and she just gave me the information regarding the amount of money that our loan was going to be, the amount of the down payment that I was going to have, and then our payments. She also answered any questions that I had regarding financing.
Britney was constantly answering all my questions too. She was extremely friendly and the most helpful person who I've dealt with. Sending emails was the easier form of communication for me and she was wonderful at that, so I was happy that she was communicating with me through emails. The reps made sure they contacted me at appropriate hours as well. Also, they were very transparent in the sense that all my questions were answered and they didn't dodge any question or try to answer it with another question. They were very straightforward. The turnaround time was pretty quick, too. It would usually take them within a day or less to respond. The lending process was about a week, wherein the application itself took around an hour then waiting to hear back was about a week. But, I don't think that Vanderbilt could have done anything better. Everything was great.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was quick and easy to work with. They were very cooperative and helped me out with a lot of stuff. I was able to get a lot of stuff figured out and I was able to get some things going in the direction that we needed them to go in. We did a land-home package, though we had some issues with a third-party. Vanderbilt Mortgage usually doesn't deal with third-parties as far as getting land paid off, but they were very helpful and understanding in getting that done. We could communicate with the third-party and get them to understand what we were trying to do and get it to go through.
The Vanderbilt reps who handled everything were phenomenal. I dealt with Jesse and he was very forthcoming and understanding in trying to get some stuff taken care of. He did a lot of footwork to make the appraisal on the property happen. Every time I called, he was available. Moreover, he followed up with me more than I followed up with him and he kept me updated on the status of the way things were working out. There was also a girl who helped me do the employment background. She was also extremely helpful and did a lot of work. She worked her butt off to make things happen. The application process took a couple of weeks and it was the most enjoyable experience I've ever had purchasing anything.

I was buying my second home with Vanderbilt Mortgage, and the process was pleasant. The application and the underwriting process went really fast. They were very helpful with any questions that I had, and it was very easy to communicate with them. They went over every detail with me, and I really thought it was impressive. I had other places to go with, but I felt very comfortable with Vanderbilt. Their customer service team made me so very welcome and made me understand every way of the loan like the easy ways to pay it off. And that's what I really appreciated.

Vanderbilt’s process took a very short period of time. It was a couple of weeks from the time I applied until everything was all done. Vanderbilt did everything well in helping me close my loan. They did an outstanding job. The process was quick and accurate, and they didn’t require me the same things more than one time. I felt very comfortable working with my loan specialist and I was impressed with the communication and getting things done in a timely manner. It was very easy doing business with Vanderbilt. My application with Vanderbilt along with the underwriting was pretty quick and it took about a week. Vanderbilt was upfront with everything and they got the paperwork to me on time. We went through the deal and it worked out fine. Their rep talked to my wife a lot and he talked with me too. If I had a question and I called Vanderbilt about it, they answered it immediately. Interactions with them were probably one of the better ones I’ve had. Their loan specialist gave answers honestly and he didn’t try to pressure me which I was really grateful for.
If he didn’t know the answer, he looked it up and he called us back and gave us the answers. If there were any other problems that came up, he took care of those pretty fast, he solved most of the problem. It was the smoothest loan application I ever made in my life. There was no stress whatsoever and it was really good. I really appreciated the professionalism of the people at Vanderbilt. If anyone is interested in getting a loan that's smooth with no pressure and no problems, they should go to them.
