    The people at Vanderbilt explained everything, and we were told that if we had any issues, we were free to contact them. They had emails and phone numbers so they made it easy to get in touch with them. It just took a while for them to get back, but I knew they're busy as well. Sometimes we had to make emails and leave messages and wait a while, but it wasn’t too bad. They addressed our questions and concerns very well, and they made us feel comfortable. They were very nice and helped us take care of any issues we may have had.

    I had the most worst experience buy my first home with Ashley ** the loan officer and also the sale lady Sherry was playing all games with me. I was trying purchase a mobile home from them and when I tried to get my paperwork together and I wanted to sign a contract the lady Ashley ** Assume we wasn't telling her the truth when I had to her Sherry had counter offer me a price. I just think that this company have a big lack in communication with each other and also the property manager Scott didn't do anything to make it right. I thought this company is to treat people right, do the right thing and listen to our Customers.

    It took us almost nine months from the time we started paperwork till we moved in. We had some issues with different places and they had a bunch of hold ups. But Vanderbilt was helpful anytime we were on the phone. I had the extension for the lady I needed to talk to and I just called her directly. If I had to leave a message, they were good about calling back. I didn’t know what we were doing and they answered all kinds of questions. I learned a lot about it.

    Ever since I have been dealing with Vanderbilt Mortgage as of December 7th and went down to Wal-Mart and paid 1269.70 dollars to catch everything up on the home and bring it out of. Foreclosure and then went down after my parents passed away. Mom passed December 26th and my dad passed December 28th. After Vanderbilt was then paid another 296.52 in January. When February came they started refusing payments as of. Now they have file an unlawful detainee against me James and Tanya ** son so don't deal with them. That hard crooks.

    Little did we know...getting a denial from this company was a blessing in disguise! We found a home at ** that we just fell in love with. We signed a purchase agreement, locked in the price and the salesman sent in for pre-approval to Vanderbilt. After a couple of days we were conditionally approved! They needed to verify income and work. They were well aware of my husband's work history and income as written on the application. We met all conditions as set forth in the “conditional approval” letter and then came the discrimination. This company found out that my husband was a union worker and they immediately shut down the whole loan process stating that it was a federal guideline that union workers had to be in the union for longer than 24 months. My attorney informed me that this was incorrect. There is not federal guidelines that state anything about fair housing or lending for union workers.

    When confronted with this information all of the sudden it changed to “Well this is Vanderbilt's policy”. The loan specialist even stated that had he known my husband was in the union they would have never even accepted our application to begin with. Unbelievable! They simply denied us because of my husband being a worker in a union. Tennessee is a very huge anti-union State so this is why we couldn’t find lending for our home with them. They were quoting us a 10.24% interest rate.

    Please Steer clear of this company. They prey on the poor and they discriminate against union workers!! We ended up finding a much better company who have been nothing but wonderful, honest, and transparent from the get-go. We were fully approved immediately and our interest rate is now 5.6% as opposed to more than 10% with Vanderbilt. I would have been ok had they came back with a denial for any other reason than what they came up with. They could have said our credit score wasn’t acceptable and that would have been ok. But to give a denial on the basis that my husband is part of a workers' union is unacceptable and at best it’s discrimination.

    Vanderbilt is the company you need to go to. I had gone through a couple of other loan companies but I wasn't satisfied. Then I went to Vanderbilt and it was a whole different ball game. All the reps I spoke with were kind and courteous. There was one named Amanda then there was also a gentleman who was putting the closing together. He was great. There were about four reps from the word “go” and every time I talked to any of them, they treated me like I was their only customer. I was impressed with that.

    It took almost three months for the process to finish and I wish it could have been faster. But everybody did the best they could. The team was super and we had great communication.     I started working with Vanderbilt Mortgage several months before I changed my mind on the different homes. Everything was done long distance over the phone and it was always easy to communicate with Vanderbilt, except for a few hold times or voice mail. Considering the day and times we live in, they’ve done a very good job. They bent over backward and I have submitted several reviews on different sites, recommending and praising them for all their hard work. Everything that they’ve done was really top-notch and they made me feel really good. They made it all as easy as they could. I was really impressed with the loan specialist who helped me throughout the process with Vanderbilt. She was very personable and thorough and she went the extra mile. I’m completely satisfied.

    Vanderbilt Mortgage filed at a bunch of different places trying to get a good interest rate and took about a good month process from the time they’ve done that and they called me back in to get a response and the time that it all took to get completed. Some of the questions they asked during the lending process didn’t make much sense, especially getting the insurance part. It was probably a formality they got to go through, but I didn’t understand why the mortgage company needed six months' worth of bank statements. Maybe they were trying to get a history or trying to get a payment history when my checks hit, but I liked the part that they set everything up to be bank drafted. I didn’t have to go through my bank and say, “Hey, look. I need this set up for this day, and this day, and then next month, and this day, and this day.” Vanderbilt set all that up. I got a bi-monthly payment and I like it.

    The people that I worked with were cordial about everything they’ve done. If I had any questions, I could call them up. Most of the time, I just call them up and put in the girl’s extension number, and it took me right up and we would talk a little. Another guy called me one time before talking about the flood zone and he was nice, too. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience. I was glad they set all the payment stuff up. It comes out of my check. I know when my check hits or the payment comes out. I ain’t gotta wait two or three weeks or another week because some of my payments are set up every 19th of the month.

However, we had an issue that we had to wait after. I was looking forward to close and I didn’t get my keys yet. It’s the home company, but that makes Vanderbilt look bad. The home company also did it kinda funny. I had still owed some money, and they wanted me to go ahead and close before they received the rest of the money. However, I'm still having problems with the house. John was the project coordinator and he did nothing but lies. He was telling me that they fixed the roof. But when I went up there yesterday, they were shingle glues and they look bad on one side by the master bathroom and bedroom. The house is all twisted up. There's so much damage inside that house and I've been trying to get people to come out there to fix it, but they're only fixing minor things. When we applied for the second time, the application and underwriting process only took four weeks. During the loan process, it was easy to communicate with them. But Vanderbilt should stay on top of the home center. The home center took their time when sending the stuff to the bank, and they didn't communicate with us if we needed to take something to them for Vanderbilt. We worked with Vanderbilt's loan specialist named Corey and she did well. I could contact her quickly and she got back to me never more than a day. If I called because the home center wouldn’t do anything, they would take care of it right away. Vanderbilt did well for us and I have recommended them.

I had a couple of complicated things because I'm under workers' compensation and we had to verify that, so the process took a little while. I had one retirement that I worked out for a company in the US, but it was out of Canada and they went out of business, so there was no way I could verify my retirement with them.     We had everything set up on a date when we first went to see the trailer. We looked at a trailer, and then figured out which one I wanted and picked one out. But there was too much miscommunication going on during the lending process at Vanderbilt. We could have had a lot of process done before, but it was more than likely that people were slacking on the job. The process could have been a lot better but everything started getting really serious and everybody started to get aggravated. Whenever we told somebody that we were gonna have time to wait before we put down the payment, it seemed like they didn’t understand it. And by the time we put the $5,000 down payment in, the amount was changed to $9,000. It really made me disappointed because it's not like everybody got a lot of money stowed away.

    When I went on ahead and wanted to pay the whole $9,000, they were always trying to bomb rush us. But the reps didn’t even know half of the information that the other places and residences were running, so I explained it. They kind of moved it fast before they recommended or recognized what they were gonna do. Then once we signed the papers, they were trying to make us move in a hurry although we weren’t ready. We still got a lot more to go in the process, but everything finally got cleared up. I'm so glad that the people at Vanderbilt was able to help and finance the company to be able to approve to get somebody get started.

    The process at Vanderbilt was really quick. I filled out the application on December 28, and the home was delivered on January the 10th. So, it was literally less than three weeks. At least, if not once a day I was getting a call or an email from Vanderbilt every other day, just letting me know what step I was in, their processing, verifying my income or my other credit loans and stuff that I have. It was probably the best experience I’ve ever had. This was my first home. But it was easier to buy a house than it was to buy my car. But they should wait till the person is in. I didn't like the idea that I gotta pay a note before we move into the house. We still haven't moved in yet and we've had this house since November. I gotta pay a note next month and I'm not even living in the place yet. I couldn't get them to change it. That's the only thing I didn't like and other than that, communication with them was pretty easy. They gave us the names and the numbers of whoever we need to speak to through process.     I got calls from Vanderbilt at work and I would call them back and they will put me to the person that had called me that needed to ask the question. As soon as they would ask me for something, I'd get it to them right away. So within a month, Vanderbilt had everything that they needed and as soon as I got them everything, they let me know that I was approved. The process didn’t take very long.

    It was very easy to communicate with them. I told the young lady that I dealt with that I’m bad at checking emails if they were gonna do a lot of stuff by email. So, they sent me everything by paper, mostly. The rep was awesome. She called me and she ran everything down to me as to what the process was and what I needed. After I got to a different step, she told me that another specialist would take over.

    Overall, Vanderbilt's lending process was great. They laid everything out and I was able to understand the paperwork and everything they sent me. I called on what I didn’t understand and there was someone there to help me. There was not one time that I called Vanderbilt when they told me they would get back with me. The next day, Melissa called about something and the lady rep told her that she couldn't talk to her because she wasn't on the list.     Vanderbilt Mortgage closed really quickly, and I love that. But I had to close twice. The first time I closed, I was going to tear my home down. It was great. Everything was cut-and-dried, just right on the mark, and it was exactly what they said. The second time I closed, I had to add in a septic tank, and it was not so great. The home place that I was buying from dropped the price of the home to $15,000. But the Vanderbilt rep was rude about it. He told me that he was just gonna cancel my loan out since I wouldn’t negotiate the price with them. That was kind of rude on Vanderbilt's end because they're the mortgage company and I was telling them immediately that my home price has dropped.

    Vanderbilt said that I had to pay more money down. I didn’t like it, but I went for it. But they told me that they were not working with me, and that I had close my loan in Harriman, which is an hour and a half drive from were I work and two hours from my home. Finally, someone from Vanderbilt said that they have a place on Shallowford Road, which is 20 minutes away.

    I closed on June 9th, but I didn’t get my home until November. Whenever I was sitting there and I was getting things ready for my home, they haven't done any backfilling, and I realized that part of it is weather-related. I still have things that’s wrong with my home, and they told me that I had to make a list and try to get everything done at once. I'm doing that running list. But the thing of it is, they said that I owe them $30 more on my down payment and that it was for my closing cost. I had an issue with that. That's nickel and dime to me. Vanderbilt Mortgage was great at the beginning and getting the loan was so simple, but whenever I closed, they screwed me.

    Vanderbilt's application and underwriting process took close to two months. The closing was very simple. I told them the challenges that I had, and they found solutions to it. We had a challenge because we had a home that we had to do a deed in lieu on. It is in a very difficult area in Tulsa, and it was getting robbed on such a frequent basis that there wasn’t much left, and we tried putting people in it, and they'd come home and find the thieves in it, and we couldn't do anything. That was four years before that, and so they asked us to do a deed in lieu. The banks wouldn't touch us, as a result of it. They said, "You have to get the company to drop," and the problem I had was nobody could tell me how to do it. Vanderbilt did not make an issue of it, and I thought that was fantastic.

    There were times, however, they were asking for things that were not necessary, that were rather ridiculous. With one company that I had financed the snow blower through, they wanted me to get a payment history for the last 12 months. I called the company, and they said that it was ridiculous and that they would refuse to do it.

    Also, some of the things, when they got down towards the end, they just threw out. They said, "It's necessary." But we spent a lot of time kinda chasing our tails at times. What made it extremely difficult for me was because we sold our home in Michigan on August the 6th, and we had to be out the 30th. And so we have no time to come down here and get anything started. And so, everything was in storage in Michigan, and so trying to come up with everything was just a nightmare for me. In communicating with them, I usually went over to Clayton Homes and talked with them.

    Overall, Vandebilt was all very helpful. They would contact on a fairly regular basis and tell me how the loan process was going. For most people, I think it would go through without a hitch. It was the moving process that got me, and not having access to all of the records. I brought everything that I thought I would need, and I had no idea of the process, how difficult it was to get loans at this point.

The first guy I talked to was super nice, helpful, very efficient, and to the point. He let me know everything I needed to know. Then I dealt with a few ladies after him and everybody had been really nice. I had property tax exemption and I had not worked it into my loan. And they've been great about that. My escrow would go down and they'd let me know soon what the new note will be. The underwriting and application process did not take long at all.

    I know they can't have one person to every customer, but maybe make it more personal. Their communication had been good though. I've always been able to get in touch with them. If I had a question, I could simply call and give them my name or my Social. They'd pull up my info and then they'd usually direct me to where I needed to go. I called a little early so they didn’t have my loan in the system yet. But once they got me to the right person, they understood what I was talking. It has been a very fine experience.

    Communicating with Vanderbilt as a whole was very easy. However, it took a couple of months to complete the application and underwriting process. We had some speed bumps along the way. There was a point where my original had to go through FHA and because of how long it took them, time ran out for us to be able to qualify for that, and we had to re-apply. That part was not their fault though, part of it was the fact that there was a hurricane and it took some time with getting some documentation.

    But the folks at Vanderbilt were wonderful in making a means to go ahead and push through and get the loan anyway. Wayde, the person I worked with, took the initiative in getting things taken care of. I tried to get him to understand the situation when the original thing started happening with the loan process, being getting too late in the first initial conversation, and it was quickly rectified. In the end, we all wound up acting just like we were family at Vanderbilt. I’m very happy with them, even with the speed bumps and frustration, and I'd definitely recommend them.

    Vanderbilt made the process easier in getting us into our house. The whole application and underwriting process with them took three weeks. It was very quick. They communicated well, asked for very little information, and what they needed was clear. But the first person who worked on the loan was not as good with the communication. But the two women that I talked to were very articulate as far as what I needed to do, when I needed it, and where to send it. But the guy that I worked with was not as detail oriented. I would send him emails, then the ladies would respond so it may have just been that they were all part of a team and that wasn’t his job. It just seemed like, “Oh, this is your underwriter and this is gonna be the person you’re gonna communicate with." But then he would never tell me anything. The lady was really good at what she did and she was super friendly.

    I filled out the application and found out well within a couple of days that I was approved. Then when we did the closing, it went really fast. It was less than an hour. Communicating with them was really easy. It was mostly either through text or a phone call. They either text me and let me know that an email is coming through or I would call them and they would answer right away. If I had any questions, I called and they let me know. They were really good about letting me know if there were some other information they needed and what they needed to get things going. They were very informative and kept me in the loop of everything. I got me a new home out of the loan.

    My husband and I wanted to purchase a home. We tried Vanderbilt Mortgage. It was a disaster. We gave EVERY piece of information to this company and still want more. We've talked to five different people and I thought we only had one person. A week ago, Another person from that company called saying we have to update our information because it was old. The end date on the paperwork is three weeks from today. Yea. I stopped it completely.     I was lost in the process trying to get us a trailer and Vanderbilt helped me out. They got me out of the place where I was staying at.
