Vanderbilt Mortgage was very quick and efficient. Their reps were very helpful every time I call or when they call me, they were very pleasant and easy to communicate with. It took a couple of days to get my loan approved. I would recommend Vanderbilt Mortgage to anyone else that is looking for someone to finance with.

My mother had an old and rundown place. We rode around for something and we picked Vanderbilt Mortgage. The guy over there told us about the county and it was a good outfit. The representatives were nice and explained the types of work and everything upfront. My mother has colon cancer and had an operation. Vanderbilt Mortgage called in time so she had a place to recuperate in. She had an excellent credit so Vanderbilt Mortgage approved the loan on the spot. I would recommend Vanderbilt Mortgage.

The place that I was living at wasn't a good place for my little granddaughter and her special needs. So at first, I was really thankful that Vanderbilt helped me because I wanted to get my own place. But I've sent a paper in for them to take out the money on my bank account, and I had to contact them several times and they claimed they never got it. It's been going out for about two weeks, and I've sent it to the loans department like I'm supposed to. I'm really upset about it because I wanted to do it that way since I don't drive and I had to hire someone to take me to do my bills. But now that they never got the information, I don't know what's going on.
This happened to me not once, but this is my second time that I've had this problem. It's just horrible. Then I go back after a week later and my mail is put back in my box that I've sent out a week ago, and all my checks are in there and I had to go close up my account. So I told Vanderbilt that I'll just send them a money order or a check. I can't keep on doing this because it's aggravating me. It really made me so sick plus it degraded me out. I just hope they get something to solve this.

Vanderbilt Mortgage was awesome. They’re professional and willing to help to get the whole home loan process done fast and easy. My husband was pleased with their rep. She was wonderful and was very thorough with him on what we're going to need and how long things were going to take. If something was going to hold us back, she was very upfront and honest. The process took about 30 days but even though it was all said and done, my husband would still call back and talk to the rep. She would have to send him to somebody else, but he would always call her. We do our waiting on the place we bought the home from. A month and we were already approved and everything was ready to go on our side.

We already had gotten approved with Vanderbilt for our trailer, but then we decided not to do it. Then we found a house and it was with Vanderbilt. We already knew we were going to qualify so it would be easier to go with them. I was surprised that the overall lending process was so easy. Usually, it had to take a month, but getting all the papers probably took only two days. I like how the reps work with the customers and I love how they treat people. They keep in touch and if I have a question, they explain everything. They let us know that if we need anything, they're there. They’re very easy to work with and I’ve already recommended them.

This has been my second time I’ve had a mortgage with Vanderbilt. My first mortgage was bought out by them and it was excellent. And then, the second time, we purchased a mobile home. I went to their website looking at repossessed homes. Their home loan process was quick, precise, and very easy. I just talked to a few people and filled out an application. Also, the people I spoke with were very nice. Vanderbilt is very good to work for and has excellent service. I’ll tell my friends that if they’re buying a mobile home, Vanderbilt would be the way to go. They’re very helpful too. There are not a lot of places that give mobile home loans. So, that is one of the pluses about this company.

We knew ahead of time anything that we needed to know before the ink went on paper and there was no putting off of any kind of information.
It took us two years to go through the process and it took time to get this squared away, but everything worked out very nicely. To complete the house well, we had to get our money together and get it back sooner as we had planned on doing. The Vanderbilt people have done well and the loan was very expeditiously handled. I have been with Vanderbilt for a couple of months now and my experience has been good so far. I was buying a mobile home in Cold Spring, Kentucky, and I had five or six options to go with. There was a lady that I was working with up there with buying the mobile home. I asked her who's the good company to deal and Vanderbilt Mortgage was the first option because there was no money upfront while the other company, I had to come up with $2500. And at the time, I didn't have the money to make down because I was in the process of selling my home. So, I went with Vanderbilt , and it's been good so far. I just made two payments.
The rep was helpful with me, they’re real good people and I'm well satisfied. Also, they called me for August payment, and it was like the 3rd or 4th of August. I had the money in the mail, they just hadn't got it yet. Anyway, they got 15 days grace period. Today, I got a statement from them and I'm fixed to mail the September payment off at the end of the month. Other than that, everything's good.

I was looking for a repo, used mobile home because I couldn't afford the new one that I wanted, and I decided to go with Vanderbilt Mortgage since it is the company that does mortgages with the company I'm with. However, I was unhappy with them because one of their representatives would tell me something then another would tell me something else. When I first looked at the mobile home, they told me they couldn't do any cosmetics to it, but I had the understanding that they were supposed to fix it up. The refrigerator that was in the home had an ice maker because I saw that the tube was sticking up, and my daughter had to stay on the case about their fixing things. Furthermore, Vanderbilt and I had the payment set in writing, but before I made my first payment, it went up by $50. According to Vanderbilt, that was because of my insurance. But my insurance was there even before I signed the papers.

When I went to get my home there were three different companies to whom my paperwork was submitted and Vanderbilt was the first one to call to start the process so I went with them. Vanderbilt Mortgage got the required documents and then there were a few things I had to do to qualify because of credit card debt. So I paid off all the credit cards to get the house without selling my other home. I have two mortgages that I do so I had to pay off the credit card debt. And once I did that everything went smoothly. I was able to call or email them and I would usually hear back within the same day if not the next day.
There was one incident where one of the lady reps asked me for some paperwork and later I found out it wasn't needed but it wasn't a big deal. The two reps that I had interaction with were both helpful and friendly. I make my payments online and it's simple and self-explanatory. Vanderbilt was the best being offered, insurance and everything, from where I got my mobile home so I went to their office in Hot Springs and did the closing, which took a week to complete the entire process. Their reps were very nice, accommodating and very friendly. They've got my payments for the 1st of each month but I told them that there's no way that I could do my payment until the 3rd of each month and they said that would be fine. They also told me that I can do either electronic or check, but I wish I could just call them and pay by a card, but they don't do that. On the other hand, I don't like electronic because I've had experiences with it before where the place took my payment out before I told them to, and that just really messes me up.
I believe the fee after the 15th is a late fee but I don't care. I am going to send them a check each month, but it won't be until the 3rd and I'm going to remind them each month. I can't afford to have a bounced check. Well, I've got my account fixed anyway where it won't go through. My experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage was an interesting adventure. There was a lot of paperwork and a lot of things they wanted to know, but I guess that’s standard procedure. I signed about 30 pages but then I found out other people had to sign 200. I was still fortunate. Besides, we had done everything that one day and I didn’t worry about additional paperwork. It just took a couple of hours actually. They also wanted my dad and my mother to sign the papers, but my mother died in 2000. They thought that both of my parents had to sign the papers since the property was in both their names. They were telling me I had to go through probate and get a lawyer. Then somebody told me that in the title, it said "or instead of", so then I knew that my dad was the only one that had to sign. Then I went back and asked them to have the title read.
I used to pay them every month and although I could do it online, I couldn’t do it automatically since it was in my parents’ names. But now that it's over, I've got it on automatic pay and that's the way I wanted to do it with them. The insurance is also included in the payment. Before, I had to buy insurance elsewhere but now it's all included.

My loan is for 23 years, but I have the option of paying it off early.
It was an 8-week process and during that period, there was a lot of information I ended up having to provide for them. It did take a while, but I understand that that’s normal for financing a property. All in all, it was really a good experience. They were good people to work with, friendly, professional. The entire process took a little bit though because I needed the permit and the plan to get done. That part actually took the longest. But everything with Vanderbilt went pretty fast.

They actually gave me a callback and that's good. They were all really quick to come out here and get the process rolling. The final interest rate was 6.6% and it was pretty fair. We were seeking a temporary home while we build and or work on a permanent residence. After looking at rentals and built places, mobile homes, etc. we decided new was best for us for the amount others wanted for their stuff. So we went and picked one out. We filled out an application, and received a call the next day. I'm not sure if the process would have taken longer, because I'm a pushy person and needed a home ASAP. I called them and asked questions almost daily (Monday - Friday). The gal that gathered information was very patient with me and worked hard to keep things moving quickly! They were quick to get conditional approval and then full approval with emails and such. (Although we were reluctant to send things and stalled on a few items, until they guaranteed approval).
The whole process from application to closing took about 13 business days. I'm not real thrilled with the interest rate, but it's ok we are planning to refinance and then sell or rent out and pay off, for bigger home soon. Thanks to the patience of Gina with my pushiness. I would recommend them for a new starter or permanent manufactured home.

We checked it off and signed the papers.
However, owning my own business, I didn’t like the deal of sending stuff to the IRS. Three to four times, Vanderbilt sent information the IRS to get some tax stuff and we furnished them what they needed. But that didn’t seem like it was enough. It seemed like contacting IRS was over excessive. You never wanna bring your name up voluntarily to the IRS. Also, I did not like being forced to take and put money in escrow and using their insurance. The first opportunity after everything on the house is finished, I will go to my local bank and transfer the note because it should be an optional thing and not forced thing.

We went with Vanderbilt because we were told that they are more likely to accept the loan application and they work with different credit scores.
The experience has been pleasant thus far and was very welcoming to a better start. Vanderbilt called and made sure the address and other information is correct. The representative was really friendly and very pleasant. She said the process will be completed within 3 days and it did so it wasn't long. They send out the statement when it's due and I could phone it, wire it in, or direct deposit. Some places charge or even do not allow when more is paid to the principal but Vanderbilt allows and doesn't charge. So, we can pay all faster and it's not going to take us 23 years because the more we pay, the quicker it'd be done. I will recommend Vanderbilt to a friend.

I got all the information I needed such as what I had to send in. I thought the interest rate would be lower than what I have, but it's not bad.
The home loan process went smoothly too. Vanderbilt's rep first called me to ask questions about myself, my job and my income. She also asked about the home and if that was what I signed for and wanted. She told me that she'd get back with me by that afternoon. I was working at that time so I couldn't answer my phone when she called me several times. When different reps called me, I tried to get back the rep that started the process with me because even though all the reps have all my information, I’d rather talk to the same person. The processor, the underwriters, the caseworkers also kept in contact with me and returned phone calls to keep me in the loop when it came to the loan itself. Everything went really smooth with the application with Vanderbilt but it took so long. Once I started, the whole process took four months. I do a list of what I needed and they sent a list, and another. It kept getting added to once or twice. It seemed like paperwork kept coming and coming instead of all at one time for me to get everything together and send it in. It took three months for me to get everything together. Other times, it was something different like why I had this on my credit and then I filled it out and sent it in. Sometimes, it got misplaced and I ended up having o resend the paperwork. But that was the only thing and after that, it really wasn't them. The guy checking everything and he kept saying that he wanted more verification.
But the reps seem knowledgeable. The biggest issue I had between them was them and my bank not using the same words. It was confusing me in the middle. My bank was saying that I shouldn’t need something but come to find out it was called something else. They’d changed the name to whatever they were using. The home loan process at Vanderbilt Mortgage was stressful at times. There was a deal that they gave us which ended up not going through for them. They called us and said, "Congratulations, you got the house." It got everybody amped up but that wasn't the case so we had to find an alternative route to get it. We were going from one person to the other. It wasn't that damaging though. But overall, it ended up being in our favor. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They helped to give us peace of mind because there was no worry that we weren't going to get the loan. They wanted us to get it and they did everything they could to make sure we got it. So, you could tell that they cared about their customers. I recommended them to people.
Vanderbilt's rep was probably one of the reasons why we kept them because his timing was always perfect when he's calling. We never missed a call from him. One time we missed a phone call but he left us exactly how to get back in touch with him. There was no runaround with him and he was very honest. That made the process a whole lot easier. He tells you exactly what it is and we like to hear exactly how it is. He was always calling to check and see if we needed anything. They also provided all the paperwork that we needed.
Also, Vanderbilt's percentage rate was good. We were about to go to a bank but anytime I ever had to deal with Vanderbilt, it has always been good. They're really good at being communicative with us. We wanted to stick with them because we were that type of family that if we like something, we keep it. The interest rate could have been better but all in all, in the grand game of life, it was a good interest rate.
Our home insurance is through them as well. We had an incident in the house and we needed to use our homeowner's insurance and they were super good about. We've been out of town and somebody had broken in our house in Kentucky and stole a bunch of stuff. They were apologetic that the house was broken into but super good about sending somebody out. When somebody robbed your house, you lose that sense of trust of your own home but they were so good about giving us back the trust that we needed to have to be able to feel comfortable.

They gave me plenty of time to get the paperwork together. They didn't pressure me. All the representatives and people that I spoke to personally at Vanderbilt didn't give me any trouble. They're quick to get anything I need out to me, like the homeowner's insurance. I was sure that the homeowner's had been sent whenever it was set up. But, I don’t think Clayton Homes sent it out like they were supposed to because they were in direct contact with my insurer. But we got all that stuff squared away. I called Vanderbilt and they got it taken care of.
Their interest rate is a little high but I understand that because I'm a first-time home buyer and my credit ain't the best ever, with my banking transaction they don't look as pretty as I would like them. But, every time we try to pay the mortgage, I'm not able to get the homestead exemption. So we end up having to pay more than what we should be paying. They were some great people. However, they said that it was going to be a quick process, but getting the tax form and endless thing here with the homestead to get the taxes took off of it was running me in circles and we were running back and forth from the courthouse to the assessor's office. Everything was good until that knowing the position were in and Louisiana got flooded and everybody needed trailers now.
They needed the last two or three years of taxes. We filed the taxes and then wait for something to come back from the IRS to actually get the loan approved all the way. But after we did that it was pretty smooth. We did change our mind and picked another trailer out and they didn't get give up and the amount didn't change. We're still paying the mortgage on it and it should have been going down at least another six to $80 once we get the homestead. However, the interest rate is high for what we were going to end up paying it. Though we were approved with no downpayment on it, the trailer was $64,000 and we end up paying almost over $100,000 for it. So it's costing us more.

It was stressful at the time I was getting the mortgage because I had to repeatedly send all of my information to several people who I got transferred to. And some of the paper works that I collected had gone out of date several times in the process which means I had to continuously keep getting pay stubs, reprint W-2s, and reprint summary reports for my checking and savings. I had to renew all that information every time I switch people. What they were asking was simple, but it's easy to ask for something when they don't have to do it. I had to do it up to five times. One person should be assigned to one person. And if there is a team of people, they should all have access to a group folder. They can use a Google file or folder. Synchronization is needed between people working on one person.
My friends would be alright if they went with Vanderbilt. But if they try someone else and they're happy with them, they should go with them. But if they're not, Vanderbilt was a successful option for me and they had better interest rates than the competition. They can always go to Vanderbilt if their main option doesn't work out.

As soon as I can refinance it, I want to. But other than that, the overall experience was easy and quick.

Our home loan with Vanderbilt had been a long process with a lot of steps and repeats sending paperwork. We returned some paperwork and they’d turn around and say they still needed it when we had already turned it in. It was a continuation of needing this and that so it took at least a good three months. I’ve got three foster babies so that’s the least of my worries. However, my husband might have had an issue with one of the representatives but the representatives were all decent. In the end, we were able to move in and Vanderbilt got us there so it’s all good.

I got the initial paperwork from Brandy in Charleston who started the process and then I started talking to a person at Vanderbilt who told me about how to deal with certain questions about down payment and the fact that I had taken a loan to clean up several other loans and put money on my account. We worked around that. We bought our house 35 years ago, and it took us so much stuff to get going in the beginning but they stuck with me.
The only thing is that I would have loved more communications on certain aspects of it. What was being financed here was not only a mobile home but the piece of property the mobile home is going on. And at one point because of the structure of the property, half being on one side of the road and half being on the other, they were wondering whether or not they could do it. The communication during that particular period of time was pretty minimal. We ended up working it out, although it was still kind of spooky to me. They saw that I was getting quite a deal on the whole place apparently and financed everything and it's been nice. Also, the notices about when the payment was coming up and when the whole thing would start and everything else were gorgeous. They got good people and overall, it was a very good experience.

I was nervous because I didn’t know if I’m getting the home loan. When I was 24, I had stroke. I lost my speech and I was paralyzed for four weeks. I lost my job and had to go through everything over again. I had to get my mom to do it and understand the numbers but it was pretty good. The representatives were professional and knowledgeable. They went in, got in my home and the home loan was mixed with the insurance. On top of that, the payment's right. So I hadn't had any problem at all. I would ask anybody to use Vanderbilt. I’m really loving my home.

The home loan process at Vanderbilt took way longer than what we expected for it to take. The whole experience took about a year and we were not 100% satisfied with everything. But at the same time, we thank God that everything got taken care of at this point. The person that was working with us would always ask for more paperwork and would not do whatever it was that she needed to do. Also, we would always expect to get a call back from her but we always ended up calling her for updates.
And to this day, there are a lot of things inside the house that are still not done. For instance, we can see a leak going on on the roof as soon as we walk in the house because we can see a bubble. And every time we open the water on the kitchen sink, water spills to the bottom where the drawers are and on top. Also, the knobs from one of the closets came off and the door locks to the front and the back completely suck. They don't close and won't let us open them. Sometimes when we put a key in, it's a mess. We need to get something else. However, we're in there now and we're trying to be patient. There's this guy that comes to the house and he does things here and there. But at the same time, it's kind of frustrating. It was also a very long process for one permit to get done. At one point, it took six months and it was crazy.

I had a good experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage and I didn't have too many issues. It took me a little longer than seven months from start to finish. We applied for the loan and got approval. Over about three months Vanderbilt was asking for documents they needed and then we worked with the mobile home company. Whenever the rep needed any kind of paperwork, she let me know right away and we got it to her. I thought the interest rate was pretty decent and fair with my credit score. It was also easy paying for our mortgage every month. My account is set up online and I just sign in and pay the bill. My homeowner's insurance is covered in the loan too.

The company we worked with to get our mobile home had a list of four loan offices. They said that the one that they have the most success with is Vanderbilt. So we picked two different loan offices, Vanderbilt and another one, to get a second opinion so we'll know we're not getting overpriced. The other place won't even give us a quote if our credit score was below 720, which is crazy high. They turned around and pretty much said they won't help us. On the other hand, everything went smooth with Vanderbilt Mortgage. They gave us options and let us know different ways of going about and doing our home loan. It was all pretty well laid out and explained to us first-time homebuyers. Then they helped with the insurance along the way as well. We would recommend anyone else buying a home to look into Vanderbilt.

My husband works and I get child support. This was on our application from the beginning.
If it was a problem then I feel like I would have not of gotten the loan to begin with just to be ridiculed for me not having a job and judging me for my life choices to be a stay at home mom. To tell me I need to quit spending money on other things in my life so that I am able to make my payments on time. I feel this is very inappropriate actions... Not to mention when I was in process of buying home I was promised certain things such as the underpinning would be fixed and that I would get new appliances because the stove had a crack in the top of it and well after several phone calls and two years I've never heard anything back and it has never been done...

But they were extremely responsive and very attentive to what we were asking. The process took 29 days and exceeded what my expectation was. When I walked in to talk to the guy who set me up with Vanderbilt, I told him if I can move in 30 days, I'll be happy.
I make the payments online which is convenient. The payment process was a deal beaker. I work for a wireless company and I do everything electronically. So, if they can't allow me to do it then I'm probably not gonna do it. I'd definitely recommend Vanderbilt. They have a fair and easy process and there's guidance throughout the way. I liked that Vanderbilt didn't have to have my land for security. It wasn't the easiest, but it was the most convenient for me. The easiest would've been to go on with the government. I could’ve gotten a VA loan for about 3.2%, but the government had to have a collateral of my land and I wasn't willing to put that up. Vanderbilt just wants the house back. The overall process took a month because I had to have some land work done before I could have the trailer moved in. I wasn't going to put it on an uneven piece of property. They worked with me on that and I appreciated it. I doubt that the government would've done that. I had recommended Vanderbilt because they did everything I asked them to do. The people who I worked with bent over backwards to help. They also gave me papers to read and the interest rate that I'm on is okay for right now.

The septic tank on that property is uphill and the guys who did the install on it were not the best quality of people.
It's been Diana and Tracy from Vanderbilt who helped me and bent over backwards to get all problems fixed, which, at this point, are all fixed. My mom always said that when the time comes, you have to go but at the same time it’s nice to be prepared.
Everything was so nice with Vanderbilt. The process took about two months and a few days, but it was because of the weather, not the financing stuff. We’re happy with Vanderbilt but this was all new to us. We were initially speaking with one lady named Helen but every time we would call, we'd get somebody else and that was a little confusing. We kept asking the lady that we bought the home from out at Freedom Homes if the loan went through. The salesman pretty much handled everything. I had to provide him with the documents for the mortgage like tax, income, mail proof, proof of income (my wife has disability), W-2s, 1099s and they pretty much did the rest of it. Vanderbilt is also a little bit quicker in getting it approved than the other ones I had before this. From the pre-approval until closing was a couple of weeks. We just did a home-only loan and we didn’t have the deed work and all that to go with it. Payments is also auto online.
However, their interest rates are a little bit high for a home-only loan and their closing cost is also kind of expensive. I think they know that they’re one of the only ones that does home-only loans so it is what it is. We’re only doing a bi-weekly so we’re only doing about a 20-year mortgage on it. When they pre-approved, they quoted and then we ended up being $30 every two weeks more than the original one. But some of that was taxes and insurance because they just guessed on it, like the actual numbers are changed.

I will go ahead and resend it because I don’t know if they lost it, it just didn’t get there or the error was my fault. It happened twice. And I would deal with two or three different people. One person would be assigned as my loan officer and then I’d get another one and then another one. They’re saying the same and do repeat what was sort of bouncing back and forth. I don’t like that. Now, I didn’t care too much for it because one may not be aware of the information I gave to the other one. I like just dealing with one person but in a big organization, I don’t even know if that’s possible.
Vanderbilt initially approved me when they ran the credit check the first day I was picking out my home. Fortunately, they officially approved probably over two months. I started the process last September and the house was delivered to my home the last of December, but they had to put it together due to the foundation is tough and the weather really played havoc. I got out of my house on the first of February. Making payments is also easy. I just put them on automatic draft out of my checking account. We've talked to them several times and they’ve been polite. I’ve had a lot of questions since I’m a new owner, but they’ve been quick to answer and not put me on hold. If they didn’t know the answers, they found somebody that did. They were also upfront with all the information I needed. When I got the loan processed, there was a lot of paperwork but that part has been great. They have been very professional and helpful.

We've had our mortgage with Vanderbilt since October. When we started the process to try to buy our home, it took a year to get everything down. That was the Clayton manager Jamie's fault more than the mortgage company because they were trying to add $30,000 of land improvement onto our loan. We could only get a certain type of loan, and it only allowed for $15,000 worth of land improvement so it wasn’t the best deal we ever got.
All that we signed for the paperwork was stuff that wasn’t explained to us. It was just thrown in front of us and we were told, “If you don’t sign this, you don’t get your home.” That was the manager’s lack of tact, not Vanderbilt’s fault. He also offended me greatly when he told me to not to expect the perfect home that we just paid $70,000 for because Jesus didn’t work there. I'm Christian, so I found that really offensive. We still love our house and we get a way better interest rate, but Jamie was atrocious and he was the worst person of any sort I've ever dealt with.

Everything went pretty smoothly with Vanderbilt Mortgage. Their loan process wasn't hard and our salesman as well as everyone in his office were great. We can call and they help in any way they can. We had an issue last week and they were all on it.

My experience with Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance was a long process. I started the process in July and didn't get in until December. I had all of my paperwork but the title service took a while. Then they had to do something over again because something was incorrect and they had to fix it. Nevertheless, my interactions with their representatives are a 10 out of 10. They kept me updated the whole time. My interest rates could have been better, but it was based off my credit.

Our home loan process with Vanderbilt was easy. We needed a VA loan before that and it was a little more complicated because there was more paperwork. With Vanderbilt, I filled out the application and that was it. We went in and signed the papers, so it was pretty simple. It took us three months to get approved but it was more of our schedule because where we bought the house from was two hours away. Vanderbilt was ready in a month which wasn’t very long. The interest rate is high in my opinion, but other than that, it’s all right.

I was buying a new home, and Vanderbilt Mortgage was one of the options that the trailer company, Clayton Homes, had. The representatives from Vanderbilt made everything smooth and easy in signing for the loan. They took care of everything, talked and walked me through the process. They were nice and professional.

My experience with Vanderbilt was a weird situation but it wasn't their fault. Oakwood in Clayton botched a lot of steps. Despite this, my experience with Vanderbilt's representatives was good. However, it was also limited and I only talked to them once or twice because I was frustrated at the time. Their reps were asking questions because they couldn't understand why Oakwood had paid our first two payments because they were billing us and the house was still on wheels and tires. They couldn't understand why the house wasn't set. Also, I didn't have a chance to ask them questions. Moreover, they weren't able to let me know what was going on in order to explain everything. It was a mess following on the schedule of Clayton and being so far away from them, they should've transferred it to a closer dealership instead of trying to hold onto it and make it work.

I had a great experience with Vanderbilt. I got my internet set up so I did everything online. They kept me updated on everything and the rates that I got were really good. Better than what I thought they were gonna be. My approval was quick and all my payments are directly done online, too, so I don't have to call or drive anywhere. And I liked that the closing was done before I had to deal with the whole lending process and the house as well. It was a painless experience. I was very happy with the way it went.

My mother-in-law used Vanderbilt Mortgage before. We had taken over her house and are still paying the bill, and when I dealt with them on her end, we never had a problem with the company. That's why we went by them. We were buying our first home, a mobile. The little hiccups we had with income was with my husband’s company and didn't have anything to do with Vanderbilt. They got us approved very quickly after all the information was given to them. This is only our second month but everything's been good so far. The process and financing went smoothly. Their staff members were very helpful, informative and let us know everything. Vanderbilt Mortgage is a good finance company.

I was looking online and I was talking about a house with 21st Mortgage and they put me off several times. So I started talking to Vanderbilt Mortgage a little bit more and ended up going with one of the houses they had here. Some parts of the application process was a little bit difficult because of the fact that I'm in Wyoming. Everything we did was through emails, phone or fax so it's not easy to communicate. But everyone that I worked with was really good about contacting me. Whenever I call, they would always answer or if I had to leave a message, they'd call me right back. It also took a couple of months to finish but that wasn't on Vanderbilt. A lot of that was on my side of things because I was still hooking up utilities like the septic and electricity before we could close and move the house. But overall, it was pretty good. I would recommend anyone to go through them.

The company where I bought the trailer finances with Vanderbilt Mortage. I had my wife on the mortgage but they called me, kept me informed and sent me letters for the updates. I signed the paperwork with Vanderbilt Mortgage and everything took time. There were my issue and their issue of getting all the permits and trying to get help getting everything 'cause I've never done it before. I had a lot of questions and their rep, Tony, tried to answer them as well as he could and we had good interactions. The interest rate wasn’t bad for a new construction loan too and the mortgage was for 30 years. The whole process took over a year, though. A big part of it was the county that I live in then trying to get all the contractors lined up and there was the finished part. But both Vanderbilt and I stuck it out and it worked out really good at the end.
It would have been great if they were more organized, though. I told them that they should just get a packet that they give to people that shows everything that we need because they were having to take half a day going up the county and saying they missed the paper and we had to get it then something needs notarized. Otherwise, the end result was perfect.

The home loan process with Vanderbilt Mortgage went smoothly and they answered any questions I had. I'm in the process of trying to change my draft date because I'm not happy with the way it's falling. They draft on the 12th and send out their statement on the 10th so it looks like I'm owing that month and the month ahead and I don't like that. I sent them two emails and they will not write. So, I sent a letter. I wished they had explained it to me that I should have it further in the month and I would’ve went ahead and said we’ll take at the 5th. Every time I'd call them, they'd say it's fine and they already drafted it but I've already got the letter. Maybe I've got it straightened out.

My husband and I got a mobile home financed through Vanderbilt Mortgage. There were few issues with the deed and getting a title work. But when everything came in, it was approved then we had a closing. The reps were very helpful when I had questions. However, I think the interest rates were extremely high and that's because the home is not just a regular one. Also, my husband and I have always been particular about paying the bills on time and sometimes we don't get them early in the month. I hope there's a way that those be mailed in and sent on the 1st of the month so we don't have to worry about the payments. Other than that, everything worked out smoothly.

Got a home loan through Vanderbilt and process took two weeks. It was pretty quick and fairly simple, and their reps seem to be alright. But I could have had a better rate from them if I shopped around. Although it came with a home insurance for the term of the loan. The only thing that's concerned me is that they haven't sent me a white title yet, although I haven't called them back yet on that. They've told me I had to register with the tax place and without a title, it was going to be hard to do.

I haven't been with Vanderbilt long. So far, I've made three payments with them and they’ve been easy to work with. They really looked after me when I bought the place. They kept in contact with me and have done me right the whole time. I had a little money that’s been donated to me because my place burnt down. That’s the reason I even had to buy another place. I had no insurance so that killed me. I had some churches and contractors that we worked for who all took up money and got me about $5,800 which I took and paid down on my new place.
The interest rate I got was fine because I don’t think I've got real perfect credit. The home insurance and my property tax are all in with my payment so I do one payment a month. I've been calling them and giving my routing number because I misplaced my bank card, and they're supposed to be sending me a new one. I haven't moved in yet but I'm getting a roofing inspection today and then they’ll come out and do a final, and then that’s when they'll give power. I'm just doing everything out of my pocket right now which makes it a little slower. But overall, my experience has been great. They’ve been good to me.

Application at Vanderbilt Mortgage was good but it takes too long to get someone to call you back. When you're in the process of figuring out what you're going to do and you have questions, you could call someone at 8:00 AM, but not get a call back until 6:00 PM or the next morning. I don't doubt that they're busy but 8 to 10 hours between phone calls is not to my liking. Also, I can never get the mortgage lady on the phone without leaving a voicemail or email saying "Hey, can you call me back?". One time, I called her around 9:00 AM and she called me back around 2:00 PM.
I was also disappointed in the lady who did our closing. She said, "you have a 15-day grace period". When the third of last month came, I was planning on paying my mortgage soon when I get a phone call from a lady and I end up calling her back. When I did, they said, "she's on the phone talking to this other lady". I called this other lady and she rudely said: "you don’t have a 15-day grace period". I said, "the closing agent told me I had a 15-day grace period and I have a piece of paper from you that said 'You don't get a late payment before 15 days’". She rudely replied, "you don't get a late payment before 15 days, but your payment is due on the first".
I was really aggravated by her. I got rude too because I felt that I'm a new person and I've never been through this before. It's not like I'm a pro and I buy houses every week. If I did, I probably wouldn't go to Vanderbilt. She said, "the closing agent doesn't work for us". I said, "How was I supposed to know this". The closing agent did not come in saying "I'm an independent closing agency, I don't have an affiliation with Vanderbilt". I was very disappointed that the closing agent told me one thing yet Vanderbilt's lady was telling me another and she's getting mad at me because I took the closing agent's word and not hers. I said "Not that I'm not taking your word, I'm just telling you that we were planning our bills out because I get paid biweekly. We were planning to pay you out of this upcoming paycheck because I have a 15-day grace period”.
Despite this incident, approval was fast and closing went well. Everything else between getting them and the agent on the phone went well also. Once we got everything settled, I was the hold up after that because of getting the down payment from my 401(k) company. But my experience with Vanderbilt was still more bad than good.

We were purchasing or financing our home and we were looking around, trying out banks, shopping around and they weren't giving us the deals we are really wanting to finance. My wife and I are still a young couple and we just wanted to move out of our apartment and get some place bigger. But they just weren't contributing to us like adults. They're still treating us like we were 18 even though I'm 25 and she's 23. Then, Clayton Homes who sold us this house mentioned Vanderbilt to us. They said Vanderbilt's great and they're always the best for the customers. From there, Vanderbilt gave us a great deal and great financing and we were sold.
I remember filling out some paperwork for signing up and getting the okay really quick, which was something we were really needing because all the other places were wanting to durdle with it. They didn't require us to show everything in the world like all of our information and birth certificates. They were very professional and good to us. They got back to us within a week so they were very quick and we were able to get everything done. My wife was very close to having our baby around the time. That was October, we got the house down in November and then, the baby was born on Christmas. Also, a big thing was that they showed us respect. We're great and we couldn't be happier but some more marketing would be good for millennials looking for housing.
