I tried to register online and was forced to call in. Found out that whoever entered the account didn't have my correct birthday, although they approved the credit and the card arrived. I cannot correct it by phone, by fax nor in person at Sleep Number retailer where I bought it! The agent wants me to make a copy of an license or passport and snail mail it. I have no balance nor credit available since they can't create the account so I cannot simply pay off the card since they cannot create the account.
Was on the line for 40 minutes for a manager. He finally gave me a direct fax number and promises to call me back once received. He placed me on hold to verify my birthday with the credit bureaus. On hold for five minutes only so he can tell me the bureaus cannot verify. Ridiculous. Finally convinced him to accept a direct fax to him. I should have put it on another card. Is this a game to make the first payment late to trigger their 29.99 interest rate?

Just trying to view the bill so I can pay it. My wife is in a coma. I need to only change her email address to the new one as we have moved. Don't have the account info. Dealing with her medical condition in the middle of closing on our new home, I am completely overwhelmed. They won't shoot me not one bit of break. Mindless corporate drones who have no soul.

This response is directed to GE CareCredit otherwise known as G. E. Capital Retail Bank who then transferred to Synchrony Bank. When you come to Scottsbluff, NE to render a judgment in your favor, you had better have proof of the certified registered receipt and the signature confirmation. This includes a copy of the summons and complaint. That also includes proof of service of a copy of the summons and complaint. I was not notified of this action in 2013 and this is in violation of my due process rights pursuant to the Constitution and International Law. Asking for a social security number over the phone is in violation of the Social Security Act subsection 208, section 8. Go read that. That is why account numbers are used other than the social security number. A person cannot be compelled to give out their SSN under Title 18, subsection 242 under the "Color of Law". There is no law and a requirement to do so under Title 18, subsection 242. Go read that as well. This situation took a very long time to resolve a relatively simple matter and quite frankly, I will never do any business with this entity again. This matter is not resolved until I can fully concur that my credit reports have been corrected. In addition, the only entity that should ask for the SSN is the Social Security Administration itself. That's it-Period. This has been upgraded to a two-star rating instead of a one-star rating.

Contacted Synchrony Bank on 12/7/2015 in regards to correcting my credit reports due to a Montgomery Wards credit cards that was paid in full over 15 years ago. This item was disputed in 2009 and somehow this item was added back on to all 3 major credit reports in 2015. In addition, when one contacts this office in Orlando, FL, the automated line requires one to disclose your entire social security number in order to gain access to a live agent and financial information. Due to all of the data breaches that have transpired, lack of concern for personal financial information, and failure to correct my credit reports as requested will result in not disclosing my social security number-Period. I don't ask for their bank account number(s) and they do not need to have access to my social security number. That is why they have utilized an account number on the credit reports other than a social security number.
The account number listed on the credit report cannot be utilized as a way to access a live agent to resolve this matter. They are not a government agency and therefore, cannot ask for your entire social security number, which is not respecting my rights under the following laws: Identity Theft and Assumption Act of 1998, HIPAA PrivacyAct, Right to Financial Privacy Act of 1978 under Chapter 35 (12 U. S. C. under code 3401 et. seq to include 3402 and 3403 (a.), Privacy Act of 1974, Omnibus Reconciliation Act, Social Security Act under 42 (U. S. C. 1396), Truth in Lending Act, Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. They cannot use the Freedom of Information Act as an excuse to obtain personal and financial information without my prior written consent and authorization. Also, they cannot use the Freedom of Information Act as an excuse to disclose personal and financial information without my prior written consent.
Due to lack of knowledge of these laws regarding protection of sensitive personal information and putting my information at risk for identity theft related issues they will not ask for an entire social security number. This also includes failure to correct credit reports as requested back in 2009. Advice: Know the laws regarding correct usage of the social security number and disclosure. A right that is not exercised is a right that is lost. Use the laws as a bargaining tool to remove derogatory information off of the credit reports to include Innovis. Check the statutes of limitations in your state before sending your letter and apply the law accordingly.

Last month my bill was around 1,700. This month I have an interest charge of 800 dollars. I was not aware this would happen. I never signed anything that said they would charge this amount. I'm receiving help with my house. I cannot pay this ridiculous amount. On top of this they will charge me 52 a month. I believe CareCredit is the biggest scamming company! Please help.

For convenience I initially used CareCredit for a dentistry bill. All went fine with my automatic monthly payment through my bank with the first payment on 2/24/25. No interest, no late fees. Great program, I thought. After it was paid on 4/16/15 I again used it for my husband's new glasses on 5/1/15 through Eye Specialists of Florida. I set up a similar payment schedule with my bank for the glasses, earlier pay date with different monthly amount, of course. The pay date was set up on the 21st to sync with my Social Security income, just like I set up for major credit cards. I paid $55 (over twice the minimum payment) on 5/21/15, 20 days after the purchase, & before I received my first statement. I received no late payment notices by mail or email.
Before Synchrony Bank took over for GE Capital, I schedule the payments for the initial purchase for the 24th of each month. According to the CareCredit rep, they do not change the due date after the initial charge. But they changed it to the 17th, which I had not been aware of, & all the $55 payments were scheduled by me to be paid on the 21st, resulting in $158 in late fees! In my mind I was thinking "Credit card - worked well last time - earlier pay date - all set up with my bank- paid ahead" & just skimmed over the email statements. I thought all was well until I realized that their balance was much different than mine. I scrutinized the statements & found that over a 6 month period I was charged $158 in late fees!
I promptly called them & was able to have $90.29, all but $67.71 of the outstanding balance, waived, setting the balance to zero, but that did not cover all of the overpayments/late charges. They will not refund me nearly $67.71 in overpayments. I called CareCredit's customer service again, after I realized that they were keeping part of the overpayment. The initial statement for the glasses included a 5/21/15 $55 payment that was not even due till the following month but, according to them, that early $55 payment did not count as payment for the next month, nor did any part of the subsequent double-minimum monthly $55 payments. Therefore a $25-$39 late fee was applied each month. I should be fully reimbursed the outstanding overpayment of $67.71 in late fees/interest charges. These practices are outrageous!

Today I received a letter from Synchrony Bank notifying me they have closed my Care Credit account (paid off since Sept; prior payments made on time) due to my overall poor credit! So... I pay them as agreed, on time, pay off my account in full (until I need to use it for the next dental or vet visit) and they reward me by closing my paid as agreed account?! REALLY Synchrony Financial?! To make my credit worse, you close my account which will lower my credit score, as I'm working to rebuild my credit history, after my husband passed away last year?! You people are truly **!! Shame on you!!

Be cautious.I signed up for a "promotion" in which no interest was to be charged if paid in full within the promotional period. When I signed up I check the box that stated (and it was explained to me in this way) I was signing up for 12 equal payments to pay off the balance within the promotional period and to be automatically withdrawn each month from my bank account. I will take responsibility for not reconciling the amounts and making sure it all added up. I just saw that payments were being withdrawn from my account each month. Since I thought that it was automatically being withdrawn to pay off the balance within the period, I didn't think I had to worry about it.
My fault! But I want others to be careful. They were not withdrawing equal amounts to pay off the balance. And since I didn't pay it off within the promotional period because of this, I was charged interest. A lot of interest!!! The wording they used on the forms when I signed up is inconsistent with what they do. And it is your responsibility to make sure they are withdrawing the correct amounts. This is how they make their money. And they are not easy to deal with and/or talk to. I had to call multiple times and explain to multiple people my situation. Would NEVER use this company again. I really think they are trying to mislead people on purpose and count on the fact that a lot of people won't reconcile the amounts and/or forget about it like I did.

My husband took out a 500 credit line for us to pay off our dogs' vet bills. They never sent us our first statement, so we were unable to login online because we had no idea what the account number was. When my husband finally called, they told him he owed a late fee of $31.00. My husband disputed it. They said they'd send it in the mail, along with a card. We still haven't received that and it was over a few months ago. I'd never work with them again.

I first signed up for the CareCredit card because, way back about 10 years ago, I had no insurance and I had and still have lots of orthopedic issues. Needless to say, I did qualify but for only $500. I was going to see a NP at this ortho office and she basically was trying to get samples of everything for me (she was truly my angel at that time) and she also got samples of the cartilage type shots that I had to get 3 each of that were $100 a piece! So, long story short, i used this card for whatever I needed at the doctors' offices I went to as long as I made sure I could pay. Well, I did, on many occasion (because I was only working 20 hours / minimum wage) a week. I could hardly afford much and had to pay the minimum amount each month.
So, fast forward to mid-summer 2015. I had not used the card for quite a while BUT always paying the minimum to pay the card off. I did so about 6 months ago. So, say August of this year, I receive this letter from Synchrony bank stating they closed my account for, as they put it "Derogatory Public Record or Collection Filed." So, even though I had paid THEM their money EVERY stinking month, never missing, never late, they take it upon themselves to cancel my card (which I did plan on using to get a cataract done this month!) because, according to them, I had a collection somewhere else, with someone else (which was by error with my bank and a separate company that I did fix right away!) and now I have no card.
I have had that card for 10+ years, ALWAYS paying, but they do this? They list some address I can write to if I disagreed. Helloooooo, YES I disagreed! Of course, I have written 2 times, never again hearing or seeing anything from them. This company is a complete rip-off for those who really are looking for help, even if it is temporary. They need exposed and stopped in my opinion!

My beloved dog had an accident and required emergency care. I was SO grateful that I was able to use CreditCare for the medical expenses. However, dealing with the customer service department has been a nightmare! I tried to go online to mysynchrony.com to set up payment. The system would not recognize my account number (which I now know by heart from typing it in so many times). I called customer service and got a man in India. He advised me to refresh my computer... blah blah blah... then said to me "They have been having a problem with their system lately. Try again later". REALLY? Three days later, I just paid the bill online through my own banks bill pay system. As you know, those payment take three days to process. I made the payment today, but the due date is tomorrow... meaning my payment will appear as late. So, I called, explained my dilemma and was basically told they could do nothing.
I had to wait until a late fee had already been posted and then I could call to protest. There was nothing they could do to avoid it. In this day and age, that is total **. THEIR system was down 3 days ago when I tried to make my payment, but now I am going to be charged a $35 late fee. NO BUENO!! I am grateful to have had this service to help my best dog friend, but I now believe they take advantage of those who are desperate. I will keep you informed of how this late fee charge pans out, but I am not hopeful.
BTW, my dog, Peanut, has fully recovered from his surgery and is doing well. Without CreditCare, I don't know what would have become of my best friend. That does not excuse the crappy customer service.

I signed up for the Amazon card. But never received a physical card, never had a statement, online or by mail. I believe this is a business model that preys on people's inertia. Those that don't closely check their balances, statements and charges, therefore making fantastic amounts of money in charges, never disputed. I have had my charges refunded and have closed my account. I urge you to do the same.

I got a CareCredit card in May 2015 to use at the vets when a pet needed urgent care. I knew the rates were high. I also was given a promotional deal that when you charge over $200 there is no interest if paid in full within six months. My very first charge was $203. I had two more charges, each under $100, during the months after the first charge. During the sixth month, before the promo deal ended I checked my account online to make sure all was going well. Even though I had paid $205 on the promo charge of $203 the website said I was still past due $21 dollars. I called and was told some of my payments went to pay on subsequent charges.
I quickly fixed that problem. I told her I was not told some of my payments would be used to pay later charges nor did I agree to this. By doing this CareCredit was making it impossible to honor the terms of the promo deal and would end up getting interest because I didn't pay it off on time. She fixed it by putting all the money I've paid thus far toward the promotional deal and I was able to avoid paying interest. Had I not called in time it would have cost me, but I'm glad customer service responded well.

Today the company's website is under maintenance and they go to the extent to say that you can make a payment with the customer service line @ 1-866-419-4096 but when I called the number I was on hold for more than 47 minutes and I decided to hang up because I have used that time I wasted to get something else done. It's very frustrating when the company says something but fails to keep up with their word. The message on the website does not say how long the site will be under maintenance which is just not right. I guess they expect you to check their website 5-10 times a day to see when it's up and running.

I have several accounts that were formerly managed by GE Captial that has now been taken over by Synchrony Bank. Synchrony Bank is lowering your previous credit limit to at or below your current balance and in some cases lower than your previous limit to charge fees. By lowering your credit limit they take your card to maxed out which then lowers your credit limit and begins a vicious cycle of lowering your limits further. They need to be investigated.

This is absolutely the worst company and the lowest level of customer service received. I called to get my account number so that I could pay off my loan and the agent would not give me the account number. Her solution was to send me a new credit card so that I could get a new account number. I offered repeatedly to answer all of the necessary "security" questions to confirm my identity, but to no avail. This company needs to improve exponentially in order to even get a chance to provide me with consumer credit services in the future. I do not recommend this to Synchrony Financial or their CareCredit dental/medical loan services to anyone. Beware!!!

I purchased furniture from Rooms To Go in which Synchrony financed. The 1st bill was $25; therefore, I figured the monthly bill would be $25 unless I added something else to the account. I set up recurring payments for $25. The following month, the $25 posted to the account then a few days later I received an email stating $6 was past due. I retrieved the bill online. Apparently the bill increased to $31. Not sure why because no additional purchases. I immediately called Synchrony and explained the mixup and requested the late fee to be removed because at that point the balance due was $64 which included $25 late fee, $6 past due and the current amount due $33.
Notice the balance due went from $25 to $33, no additional purchases... Nevertheless, the agent agreed to remove the late and I paid the $6. Wonderful, now all is due is $33 right? Wrong... The $25 late fee was removed from the entire balance, but not the balance due, resulting in $58 due. I was told I would have to pay the $58. This is ridiculous... Why? The late fee was added in the monthly amount; therefore, should be deducted from that amount. I am paying off this card immediately as this company is a ripoff! Also, the agent states the minimum amount due will increase monthly even with no additional charges.

I had to file chapter 13 due to a very messy divorce (I was ordered to purchase and make payments to my ex for a house that was all in his name). So to protect myself from this I filed but my credit score is still in the fair range. I kept my store cards because I had frequently used them for rewards but I always had paid on time and 0 to low balances. This is not fair since I've been with some of these store cards for years! I can see if I was a risk but since they were not on the chapter 13 and I was in great standing why should they be cancelled?

Currently the only accounts I have left with them is a PayPal and Amazon Store, and they BOTH will be closed as soon as I close on my house. I am currently livid, and my mortgage is in underwriting, and if this causes a problem, I will be taking a lot further recourse. If it does not, as soon as the loan closes, I am shutting down ANY accounts I have with Synchrony Financial and will stay far away. DO NOT GET ANY ACCOUNT WITH THEM. It is not worth the hassle. This particular card started at a 2,000 limit, and is not at 250! I have others that range from 3200 to 5000 that have little or no balance. Why does Synchrony Financial do this? I returned to the U.S several years ago after being out of the country working for several years and finally checked my credit report and found I had a Charge-Off from Synchrony/JCPenney from a credit card that had been opened while I was out of the country working. I tried calling Synchrony many, many times trying to get information and report it as a fraudulent account and was told by their customer service employees that they had no information to give me and that the account was originally serviced by GE Money and they never received anything from them when they took over the account. They told me that I had to contact the Collection agency Midland Funding and that if there was any paperwork to Validate the Debt, they would have it.
I started sending Debt Validation letters to both Synchrony and Midland Funding in April of this year (2015) and neither company responded as required by U.S Federal law. Finally, when I hired an attorney to sue Midland for failure to validate the debt and for illegally reporting false information to the credit reporting agencies, they immediately contacted me and notified me that they indeed did not have the information to Validate the Debt and that I was no longer responsible for the debt and they would contact all 3 credit reporting agencies and remove the false information.
Synchrony on the other hand is the worst company I have ever had to deal with in my entire life. They are continuing to report the debt even though they cannot even validate it and they have yet to respond to even one of my debt validation letters and they do not care that they have no records to back up their claims and yet they continue to illegally report false and negative information. They will not even give me any information how to contact their legal department to serve them for lawsuit. It's pretty bad that this country lets crooked companies like Synchrony operate and it is really sad that you have to resort to hiring an attorney. I recommend you stay far, far away from this company and any of the store Credit Cards they service like JCPenney and Walmart. Sadly, they do not operate within the law, no care if they hurt innocent people with their illegal and fraudulent reporting.

Was charged a late charge because I paid my bill early. Can't pay the bill before the billing cycle ends they said. Makes no sense. I had already made another payment before the billing cycle ended and ask if I would get another late charge. Yes, I would, but they could refund the payment I had just made and I could make it again after the billing cycle ended. Agreed to that.
They just forgot to tell me that the refund would be like a new charge on the credit card and my monthly payment would go up by $12.00. I made one payment at the increased rate and noticed that they had added a $2.00 charge. I didn't call to ask what it was for because I didn't care at this point. I just paid the balance off. 2) I noticed that my credit for Amazon had reduced by more than half. I called to inquire and was told that Synchrony made the decision (without notice) due to my credit score. It has been a nightmare with my Banana Republic card ever since spring of 2014 when they switched my regular card to a Visa; I take it this was when BR switched to Synchrony- I have had so many issues since. The first was that the card was not linked to my online account and they had 2 separate accounts set up and neither reflected an accurate balance. The bank will call 2-4 times a day to reach me- I believe this is considered harassment. A few times I have gone to pay for things, zero balance on my card only to be told that my card was being declined and I would need to contact customer service. One month I was attempting to pay my bill online and could not log in. They said I needed to call them asap. I did and they said they had turned off my online account because I had not picked up my phone to "verify my address"; yet I was paying my bills on time and had verified my address 3 months before.
A month or so ago they sent me another new card and I have yet to set it up- now they are calling me multiple times every day while I am typically at one of my 2 jobs. I was getting statements for $0. Now suddenly I got an email saying I owe $400+ yet when I log on, each account shows $0 balance, as it should be because I have refused to shop there anymore. They have lowered my balance and when I opened a GAP card they charged me a late fee without ever sending me my first bill (that the CSR did reverse). Now a second Banana account shows up in my online account that I have not activated- the new card. I know this is messing up my credit and no one will get back to me via email. Enough is enough, too many people are going through this. They seem to target those who pay off their cards quickly and don't spend a lot; they don't really want our accounts because they are not making money. For shame.

CareCredit has a total of 175,000 providers registered with them. Some were registered originally while the card issuing bank was GE Financial formerly, which is now Synchrony Bank. Initially, CareCredit's website use to list the name of the company along with the physician's name of the company. GE Financial, aka Synchrony Bank, both state they are a retail bank. But, they are a retail bank who is financing services which are considered healthcare related. With this being said, I financed services which were classified as other cosmetics. These services were aesthetic services, which CareCredit listed the provider with the names of two physicians. These services are typically rendered at a healthcare clinic or a medical spa.
Some states have strict regulations for licensing structure of a medical spa, requirements for the supervisory and oversight, as well as the licensing the scope for the providers who perform services using a laser. I went to a provider on GE CareCredits website back in 2014. GE CareCredit listed 2 physicians. Due to the number of providers registered, you would trust the information the GE CareCredit reported is accurate. The provider which CareCredit listed, when I visited them, I was greeted by the business owner who posed as a physician. I told him the goal was reduce my BMI first, and then have liposuction by a cosmetic surgeon. Therefore, I didn't want to finance the entire amount with them. I only wanted to pay for a portion of the services.
This company registered as applied for the financing with CareCredit on my behalf. I was approved for the $5200.00. The straw that broke the camel's back didn't just involve the registered provider explained the promotion incorrectly, I conducted some additional research on the physicians listed on CareCredit's website under the company (CareCredit had listed 2 providers, neither one of these providers were in the office when I went). So when I checked the names of the providers listed on CareCredit's website against the state of Florida licensing information, I found issues. The providers listed on CareCredit's website as physicians for the company are required in the state of Florida to list the addresses of the location which they are affiliated with. This is part of the supervisory laws.
One physician was an internal medicine physician, and the other was a pathologist listed on the site. Both did not have a primary or secondary location which shows they were affiliated with the company CareCredit was promoting. One of the providers listed, which was a pathologist, even had a revoked license. There was no dermatologist, or plastic surgeon affiliated with the office. The company performing the laser services, also didn't recommend that you have cosmetic services - they suggested that you have the non-invasive procedures.
The company CareCredit promoted actually ended up being a business owner and his wife. They owned a clinic before in Florida performing the same services, and hired LMTs to perform the services. The LMTs were fined. Public records showed the company had financial problems. They went out of business under that name, then created a business claiming to be under a new structure, and got affiliated with CareCredit. The business owner, who was not a physician, is recommended the number of treatments you should have and the cost. His wife was in a medical field - the state of Florida records of licensing revealed she was under the medical direction of pediatrician. This company was receiving medical direction from a pediatrician, about offering weight loss supplements, and calling to solicit patients from their prior company and now their new company. Their clients were adults. This was not the proper medical scope.
The business owner recommended treatments, and billed the amount in full to CareCredit for the entire $5200.00, when I asked them not. I informed GE about all of this and requested that GE credit the account bank for the $5200.00. I even sent them screen shots of the licensing records. I even called their customer service department. They stated, the credit card provisions state you must contact the provider and they must credit the account. When I wrote the letter, I mentioned they were allowing to people to do things, where without properly checking out a provider before issuing them a payment.
Aesthetic services is a lucrative cash business, but making sure the company registered is compliant with the state regulations is important. Especially if these companies are checking the credit of the consumers, they should be checking the providers. They are allowing the providers to be paid in 48 hours, and then requiring you go back to the provider. Well, that is a card provision that should not exist. Because the business can dissolve the business, just like this company did, and reopen under a new name. The company was registered as an LLC. And since they had some many financial problems, there was just no way a company was going to refund the card because they needed the money.
Needless to say, Synchrony bank, formally GE, updated their website to remove the names of the physicians. However, the Synchrony Bank stated they were a retail bank and this was an issue of the company. My complaint has now been sent to the state of attorney general, and to the Florida Medical association, and the consumer financial protection bureau. I disagree with Synchrony bank's response. They promote the providers, and they get to keep a percentage of the transactions, and they are financing health care services.
Since they updated their website, I checked a few of the companies listed. I went to the provider's office website to get the name of the physician and cross referenced the name of the physician on the state of Florida licensing website. I found there are other providers who were registered properly, and the address matches, even the provider's scope matches. Basically, this one company they had listed, while GE was the card issuer, was able to tell them anything. And now, this company or the company's new name is not listed on their website under other cosmetics. I feel Synchrony bank made the change for a reason - the company closed then dissolve the business for a reason. And since Synchrony bank is suppose to be financing healthcare services, the providers they promote should be compliant. Synchrony bank earns interest off the financing which is not compliant to the state's usury laws.
In the state of Florida it states: 687.02 Usurious contracts defined. (1) All contracts for the payment of interest upon any loan, advance of money, line of credit, or forbearance to enforce the collection of any debt, or upon any obligation whatever, at a higher rate of interest than the equivalent of 18 percent per annum simple interest are hereby declared usurious. However, if such loan, advance of money, line of credit, forbearance to enforce the collection of a debt, or obligation exceeds $500,000 in amount or value, then no contract to pay interest thereon is usurious unless the rate of interest exceeds the rate prescribed in s. 687.071.
Therefore, the contract originated in Florida for $5200.00 - based on false information given by a provider they registered. Allowing providers to register without properly checking them could not only impact the consumers, but also, it takes business from other providers who are compliant and registered properly. All I requested them to do is credit the account so that I could use the account with another provider which compliant. But, CareCredit and their subsidiary Synchrony Bank are refusing to credit account. Hopefully, a regulator will see this, and see all they are doing is showing provider's how easy it is for anyone to evade the state laws around healthcare and privacy information.

My opening balance was $1200 for surgery on my dog October 2014. I got the care credit card through the vet and was not aware it was a promotional thing. I have paid more than the minimum asked. Instead of $26, I have paid $30-$50 on time, every month. I made a dent and got down to $750. Now I was informed that the promotion will be over 10/12 and they will be adding interest on my account. For the whole balance! Once the interest is added on I will be back up to $1200! Why do they feel the need to punish those that paid on time and MORE than the minimum for the first year? I called and they said there was nothing they could do. So frustrating.

I have had a terrible time with Care Credit and Care One not allocating my payments as I have instructed. For example; Let's say I owe $500 on a promotional balance that isn't due until next year and $25 on a purchase that will receive interest in the next billing cycle. When I make my $25 payment online they will automatically put that payment toward the promotional balance. I then have to call and tell them to allocate the $25 where I need it. Unfortunately this always takes at least two (and sometimes more) calls to get straightened out. I will speak with someone who very clearly says they understand and have done what I ask, and it will take 48-72 hours to be reflected online. However, it never happens the first time I call...
I realize they do these because they want to make money on interest - they want me to get tired of calling their customer service to have the payments allocated appropriately. Unfortunately for them, I will always call. And now, after over a year of messing with it, I'm frustrated at their system. My Hint: Ask for the customer service rep's name and operator number when you speak to them. Hopefully that scares them into actually doing their job and not trying to mess you up.

DO NOT USE the MasterCard issued by Synchrony for TJM (Home Goods, Marshalls)! I spent the afternoon at Home Goods, shopping for accessories for my new bathroom. I really liked the products. At check out, my TJM MasterCard was declined. I specifically wanted to use this card because I enjoy the rewards. The cashier, who was very pleasant, asked if I wanted to call the phone # on the card so I did. I went through some 10 minutes in the automated call, learned I had a 0 balance & made my last payment in July. I continued on this call to contact Customer Service (you have to go through that entire 10+ minutes to get to that option since "talk to a representative" is not an initial option).
The service representative asked me a host of security questions, same as the automated call, then asked me for the exact date that I last shopped in one of their stores. I didn't know the exact date but thought it was in May or June. Then she wanted to know the exact amount of my last payment. I didn't know the exact amount w/o starting all over w/ that automated call. Absent these two pieces of info from me, she said she couldn't help me. She was quite unhelpful, & rude.
I asked for the supervisor. That took rude to another level. She bordered on hostile. She said I needed to use a card w/ a chip. I asked how I could get one & told her my current card expires in 2017. She insisted one had been sent to me (I never received a new card w/ a chip) & if I wanted one, I would have to call back. The she said she couldn't help me because my mother's maiden name wasn't on their file. I've been using this card for years. I told her fine, I would return my merchandise & then she said "ok, I'll approve your card." Well, she didn't. I tried to make the purchase while on the phone w/ her & the card was rejected.
Trying to make the purchase was frustrating & the experience was ridiculous. I've never engaged w/ such poor customer service. The Home Goods manager heard my convo. She suggested I call their main office & gave me the #. She had received several complaints about the credit card company contracted by their stores. I never found out why my card was rejected. I returned the merchandise & called the main office. I don't usually spend my valuable time on complaints but this experience warranted a complaint. I hope their headquarters takes the time to listen to the phone call - it was recorded. Now I'll have to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, or Macy's to find new bathroom accessories.

Synchrony Financial is engaged in a business practice that will harm consumer credit. Originally I signed up through GE Capital for a Lowe's consumer credit card. Initially my credit line was $5500 which I utilized to finance a fence project for my home. After deciding to sell the home, I utilize much of the credit line making repairs to get the house ready for sale. Eventually I relocated to North Carolina at which point life's challenges caused me to miss a payment, and blemish an otherwise perfect payment history late in 2014.
In the spring of 2015, after more on time payments I noticed Synchrony had reduced my credit line to 5100 giving me 5 dollars in available credit down from 400. I called and explained that this was an issue because they were going to damage my credit by being a) half my available credit line and b) following the balance down with credit line decreases. They explained to me that this usually doesn't happen and that all should be okay.
This month, I received a statement noting my balance was 4100 and I had approximately 1,000 dollars in available credit. I went to make a purchase at Lowe's for a couple tools and was told that it was declined. I paid cash and called Synchrony the next day (today). First, the customer service department was smug and condescending, not just one agent but both agents (first call was disconnected) and the manager who noticeably gained amusement at my concern. They indicated they again had pulled my credit report and lowered my credit line again this time by approximately $1,000. I tried to ask them what on my credit report was the basis for their decision as I had a perfect payment history since the last time we spoke, and they told me to call TransUnion. I explained that TransUnion simply reports what is on the credit report, which I was well aware of, and Synchrony made the decisions which I wanted to talk to them about.
The operator deliberately made it a guessing game of which department I wanted to go to. I said I wanted to speak to who made the credit line decisions and he said it was not him. I asked him if the underwriting department was there and he said yes, I asked to speak to them and he said they wouldn't be the right people. I asked him who the right people would be and he said TransUnion. I again clarified why I wanted to speak to decision makers at Synchrony and he said to call TransUnion, I said there must be someone there involved in the decision. He forwarded me to their amused manager. Buyer beware, terrible company to do business with. I recommend you find your own private financing until Lowe's recognizes that Synchrony is not a brand match with their reputation.

I pay every month on time and even early but was charged $25 late fee for paying my payment early. Then they took the late fee out of my next payment which caused my regular payment to go below the minimum payment. Never received a statement because they put me on estatement. Never received a notice that I had a remaining balance due.
After 3 months I finally signed into the account and found I had been charged a $25, $35, and $35 late fee for not paying the minimum because they took the late fee out of the minimum. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and also the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov). If all customers with the same problems file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (which is a government agency that reviews these type of complaints) you may see action on your account.

Absolutely one of the worst things I have ever done! When I used the cars the first time for dental work they asked me what method I wanted to use for payoff. I chose monthly. When I received the first statement, I had 2 separate payment types listed. The first 2 were their "promotional scam" and the other was the monthly that I had selected. They are applying my payments to the monthly first, so the balance on the promotional balances is not going down. Very plain they are trying to keep it from being paid off in time.
Good luck with talking to someone on the phone. Typically 8-10 calls and if you make it through their system, you may get someone who speaks partial English. They have more or less told me "that's how it works, sorry YOU didn't understand it." I understand just fine and know a swindle when I see it. The terms were supposed to be 18 months interest free financing which sounded good because I knew I could pay it off in less than a year. The terms also specified No Penalty for Early Payment. When I paid off the card in 9 months, I was charged a service charge or fee for paying off the balance early.
When I called their customer service number, I got the royal run around, bounced around from voicemail to voicemail. I simply subtracted the service charge from the balance on the statement and refused to pay it. Then they started charging me interest every month on that balance. I finally turned them over to the BBB and the Fair Trade Commission. I never paid them one dime when I saw on the BBB that there were hundreds of similar complaints lodged against the company. And you know what? It didn't hurt my credit rating by one point. I was not aware that Amazon Store Card was not what it was advertised to be and I just now was "offered" one by Amazon. We have used Care Credit since 2005. We always have paid the promotional balances on time. When Synchrony bank took over our nightmare began. We knew when our promotion ran out and before we could pay it off, the next one ran out. How did this happen? When we made a payment we thought was going toward the promotional balances; in fact about 90% goes toward the expired balances which are rolling over 25% interest retroactive! So if you have more than one promotional balance as we did (thinking we were paying them off before expiration) you are not. You have to call them every time you send a payment and tell them to apply it to the promotional balance! This of course raises your interest-bearing balance to an insurmountable amount. We are retired and this is drowning us in a debt we will NEVER pay off. DO NOT USE THIS. MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS FOR EMERGENCY DENTAL WORK.

Things were okay in the beginning. The supposedly the "Amazon" store card then became Synchrony Bank Card Account?? I have "regular" big named ones and they do not do what happens with this card... I make a payment and everyone knows in that payment is the principal and interest; correct? That is how "normal" credit cards and accounts supposed to work? Well it doesn't with this one. I make a payment and after the payment is credited some time about three to fours days later and "interest" charge is then added to the credit balance lowering the available credit limit???
I am thinking WTH... Even a lawyer friend of mine also went WTH when they saw it and recommended me to contact my state's attorney general. Then my friend told me this is a clear case of usury under the law and we couldn't find anything explaining this in the credit agreement either. It might explain why this "Company" is not called GE Credit any longer and now Synchrony Bank which IS NOT AMAZON, despite AMAZON calling it their "store credit card"... GE Credit was sued big time class action type for "lending/credit" practices. The "card" limit isn't large nor is it worth the junk I am being put through by these people; BUT you can bet karma happens...

I used my card on 7/28/2015 for the first time in years. On 8/11/2015 the account was closed and sent to collections. Before it was even due. In 2011 I opened an account with my father. The limit was $9500. He passed away in 2012. Some time after that I called to inform CareCredit. They stated they removed him and lowered my limit to $1500 without him on it. On 7/28/15 I used the card at my son's dentist appointment for $104.80. On 8/4/15 they issued a statement with a due date of 8/27/15. I noticed my father's name was on the statement as "secondary" so on 8/11/15 I called CareCredit who informed me my account was at recovery and they had to transfer me. I asked how that could be since it had been less then two weeks since I made the charge? I EVENTUALLY made it to someone that identified themself as a manager who told me they restored the account and it will be fixed.
On 8/13/2015 my husband received a call from a COLLECTION company to verify MY death date! I am in the middle of a home refinance! Not only did they send my account to collections after TWO WEEKS FROM THE DATE I USED THE CARD. They clearly ran my credit to get my husband's phone number to call to verify. I am in the middle of a home refinance and this could potentially ruin it and cost me a lot of money. The card will now show on my report as closed by credit grantor, and I never missed a payment or did anything wrong. When I called back today I spoke with 5 different people who all told me different things:
1) "There are no managers here today, call back Monday." 2) "Your account is closed permanently." 3) "Your account closed because it expired." (There is no expiration on CareCredit cards and I used it two weeks prior.) 4) "Your account closed due to inactivity." (But it worked on 7/28/15?) 5) "I don't know why they closed it." 6) "Call back Monday to get the loan you want." (I don't want a loan! And I can't have my credit run right now!) 7) "It is set to issue you a new card." (Nooooo! I am refinancing! I can't have my credit run. Please don't!)
I asked repeatedly to speak with managers and I was refused for different reasons. Most common was, "Why do you want to talk to them?" Then when I explained for the millionth time they would say, "We'll they can't help you anyway. It's already done." I went as far as calling the Synchrony bank main line to see if I could just get someone to help that could get me a number above the extremely rude and taunting bottom level customer service reps. I did get one above once to someone who couldn't do anything but said there was nobody above her to talk to. She then informed me I had never talked to a manager before (who exactly was the person that said they were and "fixed" it all?).
I am so extremely upset. I was on the phone over 7 hours total with both days and I literally got nowhere, they won't help at all. Please pull those calls! Half those people should be fired. I asked one extremely antagonizing guy what his name and ID number was and he refused to give me either! Someone please help me with this! I am going to find an attorney! It has to be illegal to send something to collections after TWO WEEKS FROM THE PURCHASE DATE. The bill shows a due date of 8/27/15!

My credit plan was 0% financing for 12 months (0% APR if paid off before the 12 months. After 12 months it would increase to 26%). I understood the loan that I had signed up. The woman that helped me establish the account was wonderful over the phone. I applied a week ahead of when I had to pay at the office and was given a $4,500.00 balance. I then used the card and it went as smoothly as other credit cards.
The charge was on the account within 24 hours and the next statement started in the beginning of June. I could make a payment online, over the phone, or through the mail by sending in a check. I preferred to pay online and the statements showed up each month under the statement tab. I have only called twice and both times if I had any questions the automated system would ask me what I was calling about and then I would say my question and ask for a representative. It would roughly take top 5-10 minutes to get a person on the other line. They would ask a few verifying questions and then I would be able to ask my question.
I have also used the CHAT online and I find it easier to get to the point and answer. I will use this loan company in the future. I paid off the credit of $2000.00 in the beginning of August and have received a confirmation letter. I did request this through the online CHAT. I have not had a bad experience and if you might have issues with credit or a loan this might not be a great card. They give you a few choices for the loan, different APR's for the length of months, and the monthly balances change on length of credit. CareCredit was a great card to use because my regular credit company would have charged interest on the 2 months it took to pay off. Thank you CareCredit for the great experience!

So I got payoff balances for mine and my husband's accounts. Mailed two separate checks with individual account numbers on them. The checks were issued thru PNC bank. CareCredit applied my check to my husband's acct. along with his and applied nothing to my account. I got a bill for late charges from them the next month.
I thought it was a mistake. Next month received another one, so I contacted them and they argued with me about my method of payment and why they applied both to my husband’s acct. The best they could come up with was because I mailed them in the same envelope. These checks were clearly names and had different account numbers on them. This is their fault. I cannot control what they do with payment once received. They have racked up 636.00 worth of fees that I do not owe.
This is now on my credit report and I can't seem to get it removed. They have contacted many collection agencies regarding these charges, and when I explained it to them, they refused to go any further, so they hire another one. Great reduction in my credit card limits which has killed my avail credit to used credit ratio that has tanked my credit score. Example - my Discover Walmart card with from a CL of about $5000 to $1600. This reduction in credit happened AFTER I paid. My balance to under $2000. So I pay it, on time even, as I pay the card down, my avail credit is reduced. Excessive late fees. Some I have been able to have credited including JCP, Amazon, Walmart. Non-credit for payments that were made directly from my bank account sent to Paypal. Several payments don't seem to be posted to my account, eventually Paypal started returning the payments to my bank. So I have about 4 payments which have disappeared and 3 payments rejected (?) and returned to my bank. Incredibly poor customer service.
I have contacted Paypal twice on the site with no response, and twice in person. I asked for a ledger of payments for the last year and was told that could not be sent to me by email, or by USPS. I called again (same day) and this rep said she would email me the information. I am still waiting. Paypal statements are an ABSOLUTE JOKE!! I don't know of a creditor that provides a statement that does not include your account balance, payments, credits, late fees, etc. My statements actually say No activity with no additional information. I think it's great that they cover medical, dental, vet, vision, and even cosmetic procedures, and the no interest promotion periods on large purchases are great. Usually fees and problems occur if you are relying on paper statements. Registering your card online allows you to look at your balance and purchases, see your due dates and amounts, and pay easily online. I've never had a problem with being charged anything incorrectly. I've used my card in emergency situations with my high maintenance cat that has diabetes and asthma, it helped save his life.

We have a payment plan with Synchrony for our Living Spaces sofa we purchased recently. The payment date is on the 27th of the month so we mailed it on the 20th to allow plenty of time for them to receive it. We noticed a late charge on the account and called about it. We spoke to 3 different employees who each stated that it takes 10 days to post to your account. The 4th employee just blamed the Post Office! We eventually got someone to reverse the late charge but they will not guarantee it won't happen each time. We've never dealt with a credit company who doesn't consider the payment received on the actual day they received it. Some people may not check their statements or challenge these questionable fees! If they were honest they would tell us the due date is actually the 17th! Disgusted!!

I have ditched every card that is now owned by this bank and suggest everyone else do the same. I have worked way too hard for many years to maintain a good credit score and do not deserve to be treated this way. THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS! Let's give them what they deserve, even if they can't do the same for us.

In 2006, I struck out on my own financially at the age of 22 and quickly encountered a medical condition that necessitated a Care Credit card (my first credit card, in fact). At the time, the bill totalled about $3,500 and I made regular payments as I could. Over time, as Care Credit changed hands from GE Money to Synchrony Bank, interest rose and I could not keep up with payments. After 7 years, the debt dropped off my credit report in accordance with California Statute of Limitations on debt. Just this June 2015 (9 1/2 years after I first opened the card), Synchrony Bank decided to engage in a lawsuit against me to obtain **$9,600** to include interest accrued over the course of 9 years.
Without the means or funds to fight this, they garnished a working capital business loan that had just been deposited into my SAVINGS ACCOUNT to help my current retail shop stay open. They were merciless when I explained the situation, as I cited again that this was a nearly 10-year old balance, past the statute of limitations of debt collection. They said I could pay in 2 installments instead, starting that day, but wouldn't release the $9,600 garnished until this was done, essentially forcing me to come up with an ADDITIONAL $9,600 to cover the balance before MY MONEY was returned to me. This is effectively putting me out of business and I absolutely cannot believe a credit card company is permitted to take these measures when the economy is so tenuous and people's livelihoods are at stake.

Amazon.com has partnered or owns Synchrony Bank and for the second time within less than 2 years I've been sent a statement saying I didn't pay for an item I am told I charged to an Amazon Store Card and the Bank added a late fee. The fact is that I do not even have such a card, never agreed to having one, and did not receive a previous statement. I've seen that numerous Amazon.com customers have encountered a variety of problems because of this Bank. I called Amazon.com and told its customers service representative to remove the card and any connections my Amazon.com account may have with this Bank.
Synchrony Bank is found in Ripoff Report. Why Amazon.com continues to use this scummy Bank, which obviously infiltrated my account and added this store card I've never seen. My plan is to "eat" the fraudulent late fee by sending this Bank a check in the mail since I don't want to provide them with my personal bank account information. If you're curious, this Bank is located in Orlando, FL, which is known for having sleazy businesses.

I missed a payment on my account in February 2015. I have been paying before the due date and more than the required payment. I continued to make payments in March, April, May, June, and July all for $150.00. I was never notified that my account was past due as my extra payment covered the late fees until July 2015 at which time I received an email that they had not received my July payment and that I owed $24.00.
When I called I was then told that they had in fact received my payment but they had taken 5 months of late fees out of my payments so now it was showing up short. I should have been notified in March that my payment was missed but they chose to continue to charge me 5 months of late fees totaling $171.00 before notifying me. Had I made the regular payment and made it on the scheduled date rather than early I would have received a late notice and this could have been resolved before I was charged 5 months of fees. When I contacted the company they refused to reverse the charges and would only reverse 1 late fee.

I now need to use cash, and Capital One card to pay my bills. This is why I want someone to set a class action lawsuit at them. If everyone like this you tell this site to put it through.

This bank took over my paypal credit account. First, they closed the account and immediately said I could NOT set up automatic payments to come out of my bank because of that. Suddenly I quit getting bills, so they charged me late fees. Then they started calling. I made a payment for two months which THEY COULDN'T FIND, even though I have PROOF it came out of my bank! They continued to call repeatedly even after I sent proof twice and continually pressured me to make extra payments until they resolved the issue! They will NOT allow automatic payments thus creating further late charges... Even charged me late fees while I questioned their 'MISSING' Payments Department as to WHERE did my payment go! So, I just went on their phone automated system which is extremely difficult.
First they tell me they DO NOT take credit card payments... hahaha! Another way to screw the consumer and keep more money for themselves. Then they tell me that they don't have my bank information on file and I have to set it up all over again! I know for a fact I have done this already! If I need a person to help me they charge $10.00 more and after spending an inordinate amount of time the recording asked if I wanted to confirm the payment and I said yes. It then immediately says, "Okay, cancel this transaction!" It is enough to send anyone over the top! VERY, VERY suspicious... intentionally creating higher interest and false fees! DO NOT USE THIS BANK OR THEIR ANY OF THEIR ACCOUNTS!!!

I contacted them as soon as I knew of unauthorized charge and I had no idea of the nightmare that would evolve over that week when I went to this dentist for a free consult. The dentist submitted a sales draft $15,000.00 I advised I did not sign after taking provider entrusted personal info and raised my credit line same day by $6500. They claim I signed a contract which was only a pre-treatment estimate good for only 6 months. I advised dentist within 4 days I did not want this treatment but they said the treatment plan I wanted would be additional $20,000. What I did not know on that 4th date was they had already charged CareCredit and not knowing this I allowed this dentist to start a root canal and resin work, which after the substandard work done and the dentist's refusal to talk to me for days saying the only person who could discuss my treatment was out of town for the rest of the week when I called.
As events unfolded I learned of the $15,000 credit charge and claims over $11,000 to my dental insurance. I now understand once the dentist charged me they would not allow me to change or cancel treatment even though I told them I did not want the $15,000 estimated pre-treatment presented or understand the charges and did not trust the root canal work supposedly done. I now know they rushed. During this time no one would speak to me and in their own lab created "stuff" they claim I must still pay $8000 of the estimated offered treatment plan. I went to this dentist in good faith and advised I did not want this treatment within 4 days.
I cannot believe the way CareCredit refuses to accept my dude of the story. There is clear fraud to me, the credit card and my insurance. I am being forced to legally pay for a charge I did it authorize and I did not sign for. I notified CareCredit as soon as I knew. I've offered a second dentist could surely provide X-rays of proof I still need the dental work. I went to a second dentist within a week of the botched root canal and he could not even determine which tooth the root canal had been done as well as offered me plan where I keep my teeth and do not pull as this dentist I went to said was necessary.
The free consult was billed and also claims paid from my dental plan for approx $1200. Right now the dentist has the dental claims paid to them plus still have CareCredit billing me an additional $8000 and all I have to show is a botched root canal and resin work and still need the work not done and repairs to work this dentist botched. I cannot believe a dentist can commit this type of fraud to a trusting consumer and not be accountable for doing the right thing. I hope my review will save another consumer from signing anything on a free consult that can be misrepresented into the nightmare I am now dealing with.

In February 2013, I had to have a crown placed on a molar and didn't have the cash, so the dentist suggested I apply for Care Credit, which I did and for which I was approved. The dentist charged me $1,020 for the crown and it was on a 6 mos same as cash. I was so desperate I hadn't questioned the price of the crown. I was told I needed gum graft on immediately or I risked losing two teeth; another emergency. I was told that it would be $650 if I paid cash, $950 if I used CareCredit. I was told that the $300 was to cover the dental office's handling fees with Care Credit. As I didn't have $650, I had to suck it up and have the extra fees tacked on to this, a 9 months same as cash.
I paid more than the balance but the payments were split between the two so neither was paid within the promotional period. Consequently, interest at the rate of 26.99% was added to the services plus the service charges. I am paying well over the minimum due (which is still high) and still, after almost two years, owe $1,196.00! For two teeth, I will be paying approximately another 3 years! I always pay above the minimum and immediately upon receiving the bill so I have not had a problem with Synchrony. That said the problem is the amount seems almost usurious!
I would suggest to anyone contemplating the use of CareCredit to consider this carefully. If you haven't the cash and you MUST use Care Credit, ask your provider if they pass their Care Credit fees back to their patients. If the answer is yes, you might consider other options. I am resigned to this payment but angry that my situation forced me to use these guys. I now need more dental work but have no intention of having it done with CareCredit. I have learned the hard way. Hopefully, this heads up will save someone else from a lifetime of maximum debt for minimum service.

I have 5 promotional balances with this bank. Their claim is that there is no interest if you pay off the balance within the specified time period. I received a notice several months ago. A balance was due to expire and I paid more each month anticipating paying it off with this month's payment. Instead, Care Credit took last month's payment and split it between several balances leaving me a large balance to pay off to avoid interest charges.
When I called them, the call center person told me my balance would actually be over $200 MORE than the promotional balance to avoid the interest charges. Seems they split these payments so that the expiring balance does not get paid by the due date and you are stuck with high-interest payments. In this case, I need to pay $655 to avoid interest charges instead of the stated promotional balance of $436 (which actually SHOULD have been $245 if they had not split my payment). This practice totally favors the bank at the consumer's expense and is basically a 'bait and switch' type of tactic.

A couple months back I realized while making a payment that it appeared that I may have missed the prior month’s payment. So I called their customer service dept. to inform them that I would be sending last month's with this month's. The kind lady on the phone informed me that some time in the past year or so that I had made 1 or more extra payments and was actually ahead of my payment schedule, great news but this is where my privacy ends. Two days following that phone call the harassing phone calls started and continue almost every day including Sundays and Holidays. So now my account is 2 months ahead on payments yet I continue to receive calls daily. I answered one of them and asked why, check my account status, and the fellow says "Yes you are ahead of your schedule," so I inform him to quit calling. Tomorrow the same thing and so on.
About a week later on a Saturday I answer again and tell the next fool the same thing and again I am told, "Oh yes I see you are ahead on your payments," so I ask why and am given no solid reason yet the harassment continues daily with the phone calls as late as 9:00pm. So I decided to do a little research on the BBB website as well as this one and have discovered that this must be the most ineptly run company in the world. The complaints are astounding. I am fascinated by how such a large outfit could operate in this country with such scumbag tactics and get away with it. If I were to engage in this type of activity I am sure I would be met with some type of negative fallout from harassing communications yet the BIG Government cronies of Wall Street are met with no resistance and get away with violating the law.
I have informed Synchrony on three separate occasions now to cease all phone calls but the harassment continues daily. I never had any dissatisfaction to this degree when it was GE Lending. It amazes me how this type of behavior is tolerated by our broken Government Judicial branch and cannot believe it continues after reading all of the complaints against this company. Someone needs to be held accountable somewhere. Where is the justice for the little guy? Do we have any rights at all under this current administration at all? Do my tax dollars go to enable conduct like this or prevent it? How can such a large Mega-Institution have such a piss-poor computer and record keeping system that allows this type of inaccuracy?
If a banking institution conducted themselves in this manner 30 some years ago they would have been met with lawsuits and forced to clean up their act, but today our enforcement, or lack thereof, allows this happen as if it is normal. I am a taxpayer, where is my representation? Where is my expected right to privacy and why doesn't our equally as inept Government do anything about it? Oh I forgot that Synchrony probably made a political contribution along the way somewhere that enables this type of behavior. The system is too big and too broken for repair. Where is the justice for the little guys?
How can a supposedly civilized society operate in this fashion and why is our government so willing to do absolutely nothing to protect the consumer? Where are MY RIGHTS? I am sick of this already. What defines harassment? What's next? Will they also allow them to show up at my residence to continue to harass me over being ahead on my payments? This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. Attorney General are you listening? Do you care? I bet you would if we all quit paying taxes due to lack of representation. In conclusion I would not piss on Synchrony if they were on fire and the last game in town. How do these large companies wind up being directed by a bunch of complete fools and then paid unheard of sums of money? The system is BROKEN. Fix it or lose it.

If you were caught in a desperate situation at the vet's office with your best little pal (insert pet name here) and were immediately approved for this supposedly legal capitalist program, these things might helpful to know:
It's a trap and you are now forced to do business through a bank you've probably never heard of. You will get hit with a monstrous 26.99% interest rate until it's over, if ever, if and when: a) you pay your balance even just a minute, not day, late (see below). There is no grace period and will get charged with a $35 late fee, b) you swipe that debt-ridden little card of yours for anything under $200, they may not even care if it was by accident done by the merchant, and c) after your "contract" is over, if there's a remaining balance, you will end up paying the interest rate of that ENTIRE duration of your contract regardless. Either way, you're paying that ** interest rate.
This is how you could potentially pay by a minute late if done online: The company runs on Eastern time. After 5 pm the payment won't reflect until the next business day. Since there's so many complaints about CareCredit being sneaky, waiting until the last minute is exactly what they want you to do and will even trick you into doing it somehow. Customer service? No. Such. Thing. The runaround: you're a moron and you're poorer than the people who screwed you over to begin with and you're going to stay that way.
It can take 48 hours to process the payment. Inconveniently, if you're having an emergency and need to use the card before that, your account could possibly be frozen until that payment has gone through. Awesome. Now you could really use that chiropractic option right about now, huh? Cut your card in half, close your account, and pay in full if at all possible. These guys are like Mafia who play dirty and have friends in high places. They don't deserve your money. You have 12 months to pay off your balance in full before you're charged the monstrous interest rate of 26.99% of whatever is left on your balance, or worse, whatever they initially approved your credit for. CARE CREDIT/SYNCHRONY BANK, do not get a card from them. They are the biggest cheaters. I opened a Card on 5/2013. No interest for 24 months. On 2015 I check with my dentist if I can use the card. They called and they told me I can use the card, 24 months again. Same month I used the card (Dentist) $2000.00. I've been paying every single month and paying more than my regular payment. From these three amounts, they have been applying to the smaller amounts.
Now they are telling me that they never applied to the 2000.00 dollars balance and I will need to pay by next month of May. Paying on-line do I have an option to pick the account that I need to pay, no! Of course not, the interest rate is 27% if I do not pay on May. The Customer service never let me talk, interrupting me, and yelling at me. "Did you read your Contract?" "Yes I did when I open the card, how many times do I have to read it?" They are terrible, so rude, sorry that we screw you up! I feel terrible. I wish they informed me from the beginning so I do not use that card at all!

I cannot get approved for the reason that I have an application on file. I did not understand so I called and spoke with a rep who told me that I could reapply with a cosigner. Then I said... if I am denied because of a duplicate application, then won't I be denied again for the same issue? I was informed no. My question is... why is there a duplicate application on file for my name and ssn when I just applied today? I reviewed my credit report and it says nothing about any credit checks until February 2015 and that was from Capital One and NOTHING at all from CareCredit. I just got approved for an auto loan through Capital One for up to $35000 but I can't get approved for $5500 loan for dental work. I don't know what kind of crap this company is on, but trust and believe that I won't ever apply with them again.

Had them for years with GE. I have never been late with any payment and had $0 balances on both when Synchrony decided to reduce my credit line with the Amazon store card to $100 and just last week decided to close my care credit account because of previous medical collections on my credit report! I am so incredibly disgusted as now my credit report reflects that the care credit acct has been closed by credit grantor thus knocking my credit score down for nothing I did! Crooks! Like many of the reviewers, I applied for Care Credit due to an unforeseen dental emergency. I was approved effortlessly, and things sailed along just fine with my payment schedule until recently. A couple of months ago I failed to receive my bill. I was able to remedy the situation by phone and online, and the late fee was removed from my account. No big deal, these things happen. However, two months later I again have failed to receive my bill. This time I caught it before the due date, but just barely, so I attempted to pay online once again. Not so easy this time.
The site kept me 'trapped' in my client info field, insisting that an update was needed. Despite all fields being completed, I was unable to proceed to the payment field, and had to resort to the unenviable task of trying to reach a human through their automated phone system. Again, not so easy this time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the automated payment will post on time, but I now have a very uneasy feeling about this company. It seems awfully strange that there have been two missed statements, particularly when I am on track to pay off the account within the interest-free time frame. Hmmm... My other bills seem to have no problem reaching me promptly and as scheduled.

I was supposed to receive a card, but it's been over 3 months and has yet to receive it. Was going to call and everything but now from reading all these reviews, I changed my mind. I guess I will just let it sit there until they close it. I haven't used it or anything thank goodness.

Synchrony Bank took over my credit card account with JC Penny. Since that time, I have had NOTHING but problems. I was trying to pay my balance off, but that proved to be difficult. My outstanding balance on 11/18/2014 was $177.95. I have made NO purchases since 11/18/2014. I have made payments every month totaling $186.00 (all payments were in excess of the minimum payment). This just is not RIGHT! My payments were electronic and made prior to the payment due dates. Sometimes the payments were received by Synchrony a day or two late and some were received ON the payment due date. But, Synchrony just charged a late fee plus interest.
Another strange practice is they NEVER sent me a bill via mail and they did not email a bill. I was just checking my balance because I thought it was close to being paid off when I found out what was actually going on! I am a busy person, my other credit companies SEND ME BILLS so I know what's going on. Here's the best part, when you do go on the website, there is a SUMMARY page. I signed onto my account in March. The Payment Summary showed that the "Minimum Payment Due" was $0.00 and the payment due date was 3/11/2015. But, when I reviewed the "actual" statement the payment due was actually $41.00 not $0.00. If I didn't suspect a problem, I could have easily assumed that no payment was due and signed out. I'm sure many busy people do this, and then get hammered with a late fee. This is VERY Deceptive!!! You have to DIG to find out what is actually going on.
Forget calling the service center. It is difficult to understand the representatives. It sounds like they are Indian, and they speak in a low voice which makes it even worse. I have tried to get Synchrony to delete the late fees, but no such luck. Not only that, they have reported late payments to credit agencies. I like JCPenny, but it's not worth it! I am paying my balance in full and closing my account. Senator Elizabeth Warren should look into Synchrony Bank. I think I will send her an email as well. In my opinion, Synchrony Bank's business practices are questionable at best!

I made an attempt to make a payment to them using their IVR on the day I got paid (so I had plenty of money in my bank account). About a week or so later I get a collection call from them. I asked what happened to my payment and they said there was an error "cannot locate account" (R03) and was informed that normally this happens when the wrong acct number or routing number is entered in. However, I know that this isn't true because I remember listening to the IVR repeat back my entries before continuing.
In reality I entered the correct information and it is a failure with their system. So I set up a future dated check for my next paycheck date over the phone with a rep. I am now noticing on my account that that payment didn't happen either. So, I am assuming that they chose to reject it yet again even though I have plenty of money in my bank account. Here it is the weekend, and their customer support isn't open until 2 days from now. I need to see if I incurred a late fee. If so they will need to waive it or my account is getting closed out.
I will never again make a payment through their incompetent systems because it is impossible for the payment to go through. If I keep my account I will need to pay through my bank's online bill pay. I don't think it is fair for them to arbitrarily decline my payments and mess up my credit report or possibly charge me late fees as a result when I try so hard to pay them and they won't take my money. Beyond frustrating!

I am absolutely disgusted to have to send you this letter regarding the lack of attention to detail and service of your Phone Representatives handling Care Credit Accounts. I have made 5 phone calls this month already to correct the allocation of a payment made by me earlier this month. I have two Accounts with you; one is a 6 month promotion, and the other is a 4 year, 14% interest account. I made a payment of $132.00 on March 2nd to be applied to the balance of $2031.75. I specified that I wanted $56 to go to the interest account, and $76 to go to the 6 month promotion. If done properly, this would have brought the balances down to $81 on the 6 month promotion and $1818.75 on the interest account. This would leave the total balance on the account to $1899.75.
The payments were allocated incorrectly and after 5 phone calls to correct them, they are still allocated incorrectly. They are showing in your systems as $30 on the 6 month promotion and $1869.75 on the other. What is wrong with this picture? Why do I have to make 5 phone calls to correct my original request? I even received a computer generated letter, dated 3/4/2015, stating my payment was applied as I requested. Can you handle getting this corrected ASAP and contact me directly regarding this outrage? After several attempts I took a screenshot of my balance and sent a check for the full amount marked "Paid in full" via certified mail. The check has cleared my bank. I am told verbally my loan is paid in full "as far as I can see right now" by several people. I continually ask for documentation. "The letter is in the mail." Then on the months I didn't talk to anyone, I would have to wait for them to call me. When they did I would tell them about not being able to log on or getting a answer and all they could say was "sorry." They never helped at all.
In February I thought I was paying my care credit off. They had on my statement if I paid this amount it would pay my bill off. Went in to make a payment and my bill was $1900! I called and spoke with a rep who told me because the loan period was for three years and ended on January 1, 2015, the interest rate for not completing the full amount due was $1200. No ifs, ands or buts. I was floored. How can they charge interest every month and then slap additional interest on after three years?
I am sure it's in the fine print of the original contract but no one told us verbally that this would be the case, including the dentist, and GE Capital never gave me any notice that this would happen. I opened a GE CareCredit account (Now Synchrony Bank) for $4000 for eye surgery on the zero interest promotion. The way that works is that you pay zero interest unless you miss a payment, in which case CareCredit/Synchrony charges you all back interest at 29.99%. BEWARE! CareCredit sets that up, so that your payment leaves more than zero balance at the end of the promotional time period. In my case, I set this up so that CareCredit would automatically debit my checking account. I never missed a payment in two years. To my surprise, CareCredit set it up, so that the payments made would leave a $1864 balance not a zero balance. Since I knew my payments were automatically made from my checking account, and I never missed a payment, I thought there was no need to worry or check on the account. Well, on month 25, CareCredit added $2110.04 interest charge! Yet, I never missed a payment!

I have three different transactions on my card right now and a promotional balance that is now accruing interest since I couldn't pay it off in time ($971)! to be exact. So when I called care credit to make a payment towards that promotional balance to start paying it off, they wouldn't let me choose where I wanted it to go!
I had to make my minimum payment towards all three balances first even though I have 26 days left to make this minimum payment. It's **. So instead of paying $250 towards the $1120 that I owe, only $56 went towards that balance! Are you ** kidding me. And the online payment system doesn't have an option that lets you pick what balances you want to lower. What they do is if you have used your card three different times, say for instance, first time Jan. 3 $300.00 with six months to pay with no interest until end of June... second time March 3, $300.00 with six months to pay no interest until end of August... and $600.00 May 3 with ONE YEAR to pay with no interest until May of following year... you make a payment of $100.00 and UNLESS YOU STATE IT AND EVEN THOUGH YOU DO... they only apply a little to all three amts so that you think you are getting $100.00 off the first amt and you are only getting approx $35.00 off the first amt. So after you have paid where you think you have paid off the first amt... YOU HAVEN'T because they did not apply all of the payments to that amt but SPREAD THEM OUT and then they charge you interest.

I totally hate this company. If you or anyone is thinking about being with this company I suggest you think about it long and hard.

Care Credit by Synchrony Bank took me off my debt management plan because I was one payment late. I was paying them $23.00 a month at 7% interest on the plan. A employee that works there took me off the plan because she was going by the Care Credit statements and not the Clear Point statements. You're allowed to be one payment behind on your DMP and Synchrony Bank never sent me a warning letter saying to get my payment up to date or they will take me off my plan. I also have two other accounts with Synchrony Bank and they never took me off my plan when I was late. That is how I know it was a Care Credit employee that removed me from my plan.
Now Care Credit is charging me a 28% interest rate because they didn't train her. I wrote Care Credit and explained everything to them and they seem not to care. Now I have to let that account go into collection just because the balance went from $400 balance to a now over a thousand a few months later. I will not be taken advantage of. Do not get a Care Credit card.

I used CareCredit for orthodontic treatment (Invisalign) totaling almost $4,500. This was a huge investment for me and CareCredit was a good idea because I did not have to pay interest for 2 years. However, my orthodontist took off my Invisalign before my treatment was complete even with my disagreement. I received a second opinion to verify that I still needed treatment, and I did. I contacted CareCredit, explained my situation and requested a dispute to initiate a refund so I could finish treatment. I pursued this because I am fully aware of credit laws protecting consumers against poor business practices. In my case, I paid for services that were not rendered. Unfortunately, CareCredit sided with the provider and closed the case. Be aware that with this Credit Card if something goes wrong they will likely side with the provider. You will be responsible for these charges regardless of the circumstance. I should also state that I have great credit and paid all of my bills on time.

Care Credit charge was $5000 and other arrangements were made to pay the balance. The Treatment plan listed 30 items. I failed to notice that I was charged $449.53 (about 9%) for a Care Credit Processing fee. The Care Credit agreement plan type checked is No Interest if Paid in full within Promotional Period but does not mention the processing fee anywhere. Is this legal? I checked the Care Credit reviews and no one else mentioned this issue.

I applied for and used this credit card for a large vet bill we incurred for one of our cats. I kept meticulous track of my balances, both promotional and 'standard' or non-promotional, as well as the due dates for each, and I made all appropriate payments early or on time. But whenever I made a payment I had to call them to tell them how to RE-apply it (since it automatically gets applied a certain way), and they never fail to mess it up again and again. Even when I ask for a supervisor, and they claim to understand EXACTLY how I want it applied and EXACTLY what my balances should look like after all is said and done, they mess it up!
I have actually called and asked for the main overall supervisor, and they tell me there is no such thing as someone who supervises the supervisors! Great. The frustration is NOT worth the interest you are saving and I plan on avoiding using this card at all costs in the future! I would recommend that everyone else does the same. It is definitely a trap for the desperate/less informed/less educated, but even for someone who is intelligent and informed, it can be a challenge to stay ahead of them!

Last winter I applied for CareCredit and was approved pretty much instantly for my $3,500 request. I set it up for the interest free 12 month payment period. I missed one payment by one day and my fee was $25- a bit steep but it was my fault for missing it. Other than that there have been no troubles. I've heard some horror stories about surprise bills when people thought everything was paid off, so I'll update my review if anything like that happens. I owe $400 and have until March. I'm having another procedure done in January and considering the troubles others have had, I may just pay the $400 off this month since I don't want to risk anything by having two procedures on my card at once. Also, if you go online and create an account you can keep up with everything including your balance, payment due dates etc.

In July 2014 I found a great dentist and just an equally staff. I decided to have some dental work done. The fist visit was a consultation and the Doctor explained each and everything had to be done. I do not have dental insurance and the Doctor told me it would be almost $7,000 and I could not pay that in 1 sum. One billing lady did an application for CareCredit, former GE Capital - they approved it. About a week later I started the procedure - 6 implants, remove 2 teeth. Unfortunately 2 of the screw fell off and 1 was loose and an infection, also I was given antibiotics and pain killer. Wait a weeks or so, again did not work. On or about 1 month ago I started receiving calls form GE CareCredit, tell me I owed them the bill. Well I explained to the lady my treatment was not finish. Make it short now, the Dentist has to start all over again, the interest keeps accumulating. I cannot pay for some is not done, I have no front teeth left. The Doctor is not the blame, just GE Capital keep telling me my procedure was completed in August 4, 2014.

I was working full time waiting to start school. I had a care credit card through GE and was making payments on time as scheduled. I was called to nursing school and anyone who knows the medical field knows that you go when your name is up. I had to quit my job and eventually fell behind on payments, 90 days to be exact. In August of 2014 I started a part time job working at a local hospital, I was still attending school but wanted to make right on my accounts. I set up payments of $57.00 every two weeks. That's $114 per a month, they said my past due balance was over 200 dollars and when I called to try and save some money on the fees and see if they would work with me they refused. They are still charging me $35.00 a month late fee even though I have began paying on this. These people are rude and unwilling to work with you at all. ALL my other cards have been more than helpful, stopping all the fees as long as I was paying the agreed amounts that we worked out. DO NOT EVER USE THEM!!

On July, 2012, I had eye surgery and applied care credit for $9,000. At the time, the hospital social worker told me that I can pay my loans up to 24 month without interest rate. So, I set up the automatic payment for $350/mo. and planned to pay up any remaining balance after 24 month period. During all these time, I had no chance to follow up my balance because I had many medical complications since my surgery. Today, I rechecked my balance online and saw there was still $4500 of balance remaining!! Just by simple math, this was something wrong because if they taken out $350 from my checking account since July, 2012, I would have been paying more than $14,000. When I called the care credit, they are telling me that at the time when my 24 month free interest period was over in August, 2013, my balance was $1,065 and they charged all the interest for 24 month period for 26.8% rate. Top of that, they were continued to charge interest on top of interest!!!
When I asked them to reverse the the over charges they took out from my account, they told me that they cannot because this was on their contract!! They told me I must pay all balances including the interest! This was worse than SCAM!! I already overpaid more than $5,000 for my original $9,000 loan and they still continue to collect from my account! PLEASE, PLEASE, do not use this bank to obtain loan!! It is better off you use your credit card or other source of loan.

I'd steer clear of Care Credit - initially obtained card for veterinarian and the eye doctor visits. After only few months, veterinarian stopped taking the cards due to the customer being charged interest, and them (business owner) charged the same interest when collecting payment (double dipping??). Called Synchrony Bank today to inquire why and how they could legally do that, and got a sarcastic rep explaining due to me being a customer she could not go into detail about the provider side.
I said, “I don't expect you to, but why are you charging them my interest when you already collect it from me?” She stated, “So what can I do for you?” I just told her to forget it and when I pay off my 173.27 balance, I’m closing the account with them. I have a strong feeling that other businesses here will stop taking the cards for this same reason. The lady wasn't extremely rude, but very borderline and would not answer my question - seemed like she did not have the knowledge to answer a phone, much less resolve an issue.

Had my CareCredit card paid off except for 75.00. I went to use it for medical reasons and was told that it had been cancelled. I called GE Capital and they told me that I had not paid on another GE Capital card which was Ashley Furniture, which was actually my husband's not mine. My husband took out the card, added me to the account and committed suicide - after taking out the card getting credit and furniture. I paid on it a year and a half very well then I am anymore. They raise the payment in the interest - added interest to it. So they cancelled my CareCredit and Chevron although they were paid on time and low balances. They still cancelled and because of the dispute on the GE Ashley credit card, they tell you to call in and they will help you. They do not. They send you further in the hall.
They sent me to collections over 12 payments and then added 25, 35 fee. They were rude and threatening. I tried to explain and Ashley Furniture knew my husband committed suicide. The salesman and Accounting Office in no way was any indication he have mental problems, but they have settled me with what he did. There has been no resources, no programs that help us pass that slept like this, and he deceive me and betrayed me. He went and got a brand new Lexus for 800 a month and a half in voluntary repossession. I did everything I could to water in the despair and depression and difficulties - experienced the humiliation and disgrace. He committed suicide the morning after our wedding reception, except he has eloped and obviously didn't get permission from them - and they were grown in twenties with their mates. GE Capital and Ashley Furniture is a horrible company - both of them.

My complaint with GE Capital/Care Credit is the way they apply my payments. I used my Care Credit to pay a $2,000 doctor bill. The plan was no interest if I paid in full within so many months, and they set payment amount which I agreed to. A few months later I used the card again, but this transaction would have interest charged, which I agreed to. What they did was apply all my payments from that day forward to the second transaction which being charged interest. Which in turn caused the first transaction to be stretched past the 'no interest' period, so then they charged me all the interest on the original transaction, which I did not agree to, nor was even notified that was their practice! When I called they basically said "oh well, that's our policy" and I should have specified where I wanted the payment to be applied. Now I'm paying interest on top of interest and may NEVER get this card paid off.

I saved over $1500.00 in interest charges by using Care Credit. I Read All the Info and Asked Questions on things I did not understand. I Paid my Minimum Payment Before the due date and I paid More than Minimum Due on the acct for that statement. I watched my statement each month to make sure I will be paying off the amount due before the promotional period was up.
At the end I was watching my statement more closely to make sure it was to paid off so I wouldn't End up paying the interest. Care Credit Listed In RED That My Promotional Period was Ending Soon and to make sure it was paid so I would avoid Paying Interest on my account. You need to watch your statement and pay more than the minimum due each month to make sure it is paid. If you don't pay more, then yes you will end up paying a higher interest rate more than normal.
This card is for those who know they can pay more than the minimum payment because you want to avoid the high Interest All credit cards charge. They're not to be trusted. Once you sign that contract, you are bound by that contract whether you obtained the services rendered or not. You will still have to pay and be harassed until they get every dollar out of your bank account. They don't care whether you obtained the services rendered or not. They don't care if you were happy with the services rendered by your doctor or not. Or if you are in a dispute with the provider. All they care about is getting that money. They destroy your good credit status. You didn't get the product or the services in which you signed your life away to.
You are now unable to go any place else to seek another service provider. Because they destroyed your credit status. And now you can't seek services any place else. But they don't care you signed on the dotted line, they don't give a ** if you obtained services or obtained your product. They want their money and it's not their money. Because you never received the product, nor did you obtain the services to which you are now so in debt with. But they don't care, they want that almighty dollar at whatever cost. Even if they didn't work for it themselves.

Instead they tell you to apply for CareCredit. But CareCredit does not approve every applicant-- nor always give a credit line high enough to cover every need. I've had my card for 9 months and proven myself to be someone who pays their debts on time. But when I called and asked for a credit limit increase to cover the emergency operation my cat needed, they refused to give me enough to cover it.
