Back in May 2010 I was in a horrible car accident and I needed medical attention. After seeking a doctor she stated that she has a program that would work for me to get me in and see her along with my first spinal injections. This was on a personal injury lawsuit. Now five and a half years later I'm getting sheriff summons by GE Capital and CareCredit dental by my old anesthesiologist who was my pain Dr who said everything that she ever done was paid off by my personal injury lawsuit. Now I'm being told that she never settled with the credit card, it was my responsibility. However I did not and was not informed this was a separate company and wasn't with the doctor herself.

Now here I'm sitting with summons and I'm pending disability with no income and they're going after the only thing I have 11 year old car. I've already lost everything, what do they expect me to do. Furthermost it being $3,000 and most of that is interests and fees that accrued over the last 5 years - the credit line was only for 1500 dollars. This is nothing but a money scam. I would definitely run if any doctor or anything relating to medical persuade you into some kind of financial crutch in order for you to get help with your health. I suggest you run. It's better to go through the government crappy hospitals than to have these companies keep buying out each other and doctors running away with your money on a settlement. I don't see them going after the doctors at all. The doctors are illegally doing this! I'd like to know what I should do. I don't feel like I should be drunk out of my home to court over something so fraudulent.

I am in the habit of paying my balance each billing period. Balance is several thousand as I use the card for travel. The card was re-issued a few times after security breaches (Target/Home Depot). Every other credit card I have will post a payment made online within 24-48 hours, yet this credit card shows a large credit balance online but at the same time the card is denied for a FULL WEEK after payment is made. A few times of being denied at hotel check-in was enough to determine this card isn't working. Further, my hundred dollar rewards balance was forfeited.

CareCredit has a total of 175,000 providers registered with them. Some were registered originally while the card issuing bank was GE Financial formerly, which is now Synchrony Bank. Initially, CareCredit's website use to list the name of the company along with the physician's name of the company. GE Financial, aka Synchrony Bank, both state they are a retail bank. But, they are a retail bank who is financing services which are considered healthcare related. With this being said, I financed services which were classified as other cosmetics. These services were aesthetic services, which CareCredit listed the provider with the names of two physicians. These services are typically rendered at a healthcare clinic or a medical spa.

Some states have strict regulations for licensing structure of a medical spa, requirements for the supervisory and oversight, as well as the licensing the scope for the providers who perform services using a laser. I went to a provider on GE CareCredits website back in 2014. GE CareCredit listed 2 physicians. Due to the number of providers registered, you would trust the information the GE CareCredit reported is accurate. The provider which CareCredit listed, when I visited them, I was greeted by the business owner who posed as a physician. I told him the goal was reduce my BMI first, and then have liposuction by a cosmetic surgeon. Therefore, I didn't want to finance the entire amount with them. I only wanted to pay for a portion of the services.

This company registered as applied for the financing with CareCredit on my behalf. I was approved for the $5200.00. The straw that broke the camel's back didn't just involve the registered provider explained the promotion incorrectly, I conducted some additional research on the physicians listed on CareCredit's website under the company (CareCredit had listed 2 providers, neither one of these providers were in the office when I went). So when I checked the names of the providers listed on CareCredit's website against the state of Florida licensing information, I found issues. The providers listed on CareCredit's website as physicians for the company are required in the state of Florida to list the addresses of the location which they are affiliated with. This is part of the supervisory laws.

One physician was an internal medicine physician, and the other was a pathologist listed on the site. Both did not have a primary or secondary location which shows they were affiliated with the company CareCredit was promoting. One of the providers listed, which was a pathologist, even had a revoked license. There was no dermatologist, or plastic surgeon affiliated with the office. The company performing the laser services, also didn't recommend that you have cosmetic services - they suggested that you have the non-invasive procedures.

The company CareCredit promoted actually ended up being a business owner and his wife. They owned a clinic before in Florida performing the same services, and hired LMTs to perform the services. The LMTs were fined. Public records showed the company had financial problems. They went out of business under that name, then created a business claiming to be under a new structure, and got affiliated with CareCredit. The business owner, who was not a physician, is recommended the number of treatments you should have and the cost. His wife was in a medical field - the state of Florida records of licensing revealed she was under the medical direction of pediatrician. This company was receiving medical direction from a pediatrician, about offering weight loss supplements, and calling to solicit patients from their prior company and now their new company. Their clients were adults. This was not the proper medical scope.

The business owner recommended treatments, and billed the amount in full to CareCredit for the entire $5200.00, when I asked them not. I informed GE about all of this and requested that GE credit the account bank for the $5200.00. I even sent them screen shots of the licensing records. I even called their customer service department. They stated, the credit card provisions state you must contact the provider and they must credit the account. When I wrote the letter, I mentioned they were allowing to people to do things, where without properly checking out a provider before issuing them a payment.

Aesthetic services is a lucrative cash business, but making sure the company registered is compliant with the state regulations is important. Especially if these companies are checking the credit of the consumers, they should be checking the providers. They are allowing the providers to be paid in 48 hours, and then requiring you go back to the provider. Well, that is a card provision that should not exist. Because the business can dissolve the business, just like this company did, and reopen under a new name. The company was registered as an LLC. And since they had some many financial problems, there was just no way a company was going to refund the card because they needed the money.

Needless to say, Synchrony bank, formally GE, updated their website to remove the names of the physicians. However, the Synchrony Bank stated they were a retail bank and this was an issue of the company. My complaint has now been sent to the state of attorney general, and to the Florida Medical association, and the consumer financial protection bureau. I disagree with Synchrony bank's response. They promote the providers, and they get to keep a percentage of the transactions, and they are financing health care services.

Since they updated their website, I checked a few of the companies listed. I went to the provider's office website to get the name of the physician and cross referenced the name of the physician on the state of Florida licensing website. I found there are other providers who were registered properly, and the address matches, even the provider's scope matches. Basically, this one company they had listed, while GE was the card issuer, was able to tell them anything. And now, this company or the company's new name is not listed on their website under other cosmetics. I feel Synchrony bank made the change for a reason - the company closed then dissolve the business for a reason. And since Synchrony bank is suppose to be financing healthcare services, the providers they promote should be compliant. Synchrony bank earns interest off the financing which is not compliant to the state's usury laws.

In the state of Florida it states: 687.02 Usurious contracts defined. (1) All contracts for the payment of interest upon any loan, advance of money, line of credit, or forbearance to enforce the collection of any debt, or upon any obligation whatever, at a higher rate of interest than the equivalent of 18 percent per annum simple interest are hereby declared usurious. However, if such loan, advance of money, line of credit, forbearance to enforce the collection of a debt, or obligation exceeds $500,000 in amount or value, then no contract to pay interest thereon is usurious unless the rate of interest exceeds the rate prescribed in s. 687.071.

Therefore, the contract originated in Florida for $5200.00 - based on false information given by a provider they registered. Allowing providers to register without properly checking them could not only impact the consumers, but also, it takes business from other providers who are compliant and registered properly. All I requested them to do is credit the account so that I could use the account with another provider which compliant. But, CareCredit and their subsidiary Synchrony Bank are refusing to credit account. Hopefully, a regulator will see this, and see all they are doing is showing provider's how easy it is for anyone to evade the state laws around healthcare and privacy information.

My opening balance was $1200 for surgery on my dog October 2014. I got the care credit card through the vet and was not aware it was a promotional thing. I have paid more than the minimum asked. Instead of $26, I have paid $30-$50 on time, every month. I made a dent and got down to $750. Now I was informed that the promotion will be over 10/12 and they will be adding interest on my account. For the whole balance! Once the interest is added on I will be back up to $1200! Why do they feel the need to punish those that paid on time and MORE than the minimum for the first year? I called and they said there was nothing they could do. So frustrating.

I have had a terrible time with Care Credit and Care One not allocating my payments as I have instructed. For example; Let's say I owe $500 on a promotional balance that isn't due until next year and $25 on a purchase that will receive interest in the next billing cycle. When I make my $25 payment online they will automatically put that payment toward the promotional balance. I then have to call and tell them to allocate the $25 where I need it. Unfortunately this always takes at least two (and sometimes more) calls to get straightened out. I will speak with someone who very clearly says they understand and have done what I ask, and it will take 48-72 hours to be reflected online. However, it never happens the first time I call...

I realize they do these because they want to make money on interest - they want me to get tired of calling their customer service to have the payments allocated appropriately. Unfortunately for them, I will always call. And now, after over a year of messing with it, I'm frustrated at their system. My Hint: Ask for the customer service rep's name and operator number when you speak to them. Hopefully that scares them into actually doing their job and not trying to mess you up.

DO NOT USE the MasterCard issued by Synchrony for TJM (Home Goods, Marshalls)! I spent the afternoon at Home Goods, shopping for accessories for my new bathroom. I really liked the products. At check out, my TJM MasterCard was declined. I specifically wanted to use this card because I enjoy the rewards. The cashier, who was very pleasant, asked if I wanted to call the phone # on the card so I did. I went through some 10 minutes in the automated call, learned I had a 0 balance & made my last payment in July. I continued on this call to contact Customer Service (you have to go through that entire 10+ minutes to get to that option since "talk to a representative" is not an initial option).

The service representative asked me a host of security questions, same as the automated call, then asked me for the exact date that I last shopped in one of their stores. I didn't know the exact date but thought it was in May or June. Then she wanted to know the exact amount of my last payment. I didn't know the exact amount w/o starting all over w/ that automated call. Absent these two pieces of info from me, she said she couldn't help me. She was quite unhelpful, & rude.

I asked for the supervisor. That took rude to another level. She bordered on hostile. She said I needed to use a card w/ a chip. I asked how I could get one & told her my current card expires in 2017. She insisted one had been sent to me (I never received a new card w/ a chip) & if I wanted one, I would have to call back. The she said she couldn't help me because my mother's maiden name wasn't on their file. I've been using this card for years. I told her fine, I would return my merchandise & then she said "ok, I'll approve your card." Well, she didn't. I tried to make the purchase while on the phone w/ her & the card was rejected.

Trying to make the purchase was frustrating & the experience was ridiculous. I've never engaged w/ such poor customer service. The Home Goods manager heard my convo. She suggested I call their main office & gave me the #. She had received several complaints about the credit card company contracted by their stores. I never found out why my card was rejected. I returned the merchandise & called the main office. I don't usually spend my valuable time on complaints but this experience warranted a complaint. I hope their headquarters takes the time to listen to the phone call - it was recorded. Now I'll have to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, or Macy's to find new bathroom accessories.

Synchrony Financial is engaged in a business practice that will harm consumer credit. Originally I signed up through GE Capital for a Lowe's consumer credit card. Initially my credit line was $5500 which I utilized to finance a fence project for my home. After deciding to sell the home, I utilize much of the credit line making repairs to get the house ready for sale. Eventually I relocated to North Carolina at which point life's challenges caused me to miss a payment, and blemish an otherwise perfect payment history late in 2014.

In the spring of 2015, after more on time payments I noticed Synchrony had reduced my credit line to 5100 giving me 5 dollars in available credit down from 400. I called and explained that this was an issue because they were going to damage my credit by being a) half my available credit line and b) following the balance down with credit line decreases. They explained to me that this usually doesn't happen and that all should be okay.

This month, I received a statement noting my balance was 4100 and I had approximately 1,000 dollars in available credit. I went to make a purchase at Lowe's for a couple tools and was told that it was declined. I paid cash and called Synchrony the next day (today). First, the customer service department was smug and condescending, not just one agent but both agents (first call was disconnected) and the manager who noticeably gained amusement at my concern. They indicated they again had pulled my credit report and lowered my credit line again this time by approximately $1,000. I tried to ask them what on my credit report was the basis for their decision as I had a perfect payment history since the last time we spoke, and they told me to call TransUnion. I explained that TransUnion simply reports what is on the credit report, which I was well aware of, and Synchrony made the decisions which I wanted to talk to them about.

The operator deliberately made it a guessing game of which department I wanted to go to. I said I wanted to speak to who made the credit line decisions and he said it was not him. I asked him if the underwriting department was there and he said yes, I asked to speak to them and he said they wouldn't be the right people. I asked him who the right people would be and he said TransUnion. I again clarified why I wanted to speak to decision makers at Synchrony and he said to call TransUnion, I said there must be someone there involved in the decision. He forwarded me to their amused manager. Buyer beware, terrible company to do business with. I recommend you find your own private financing until Lowe's recognizes that Synchrony is not a brand match with their reputation.

I applied for Care Credit a few weeks ago to use for surgery for my cat. On their website it shows various months to which to pay this off. According to Care Credit my vet put me in for a 6 month promotion payment plan without my knowledge. I called Care Credit to have it changed to either 48 or 60 months because I can't pay it off in 6 months. I was told they cannot do this. Their website is misleading. I would never have applied if I had known this. I don't know what to do because I cannot pay this off in 6 months and no one will help me.

I have been an excellent customer of Rooms To Go for years. Paid every account off before the promotional date had ended. I pay every month on time and even early but was charged $25 late fee for paying my payment early. Then they took the late fee out of my next payment which caused my regular payment to go below the minimum payment. Never received a statement because they put me on estatement. Never received a notice that I had a remaining balance due.

After 3 months I finally signed into the account and found I had been charged a $25, $35, and $35 late fee for not paying the minimum because they took the late fee out of the minimum. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and also the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov). If all customers with the same problems file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (which is a government agency that reviews these type of complaints) you may see action on your account.

I cannot believe Amazon is connected with Synchrony Bank!! My first bill showed a balance when it should have been a credit on a returned item. Item cost $65. I returned it. Bill shows a $55 credit and a $10 Charge? I called 4 times, twice disconnected and I might add I could hardly hear the person on the other end. One offered to call me right back and did not. Finally after one hour (working as I did this crap) I was told the $10 would be credited to my account. We will see. I have not yet received my card in the mail and when I do it will go straight in the garbage. Amazon should be ashamed to be associated with this kind of bank.

Absolutely one of the worst things I have ever done! When I used the cars the first time for dental work they asked me what method I wanted to use for payoff. I chose monthly. When I received the first statement, I had 2 separate payment types listed. The first 2 were their "promotional scam" and the other was the monthly that I had selected. They are applying my payments to the monthly first, so the balance on the promotional balances is not going down. Very plain they are trying to keep it from being paid off in time.

Good luck with talking to someone on the phone. Typically 8-10 calls and if you make it through their system, you may get someone who speaks partial English. They have more or less told me "that's how it works, sorry YOU didn't understand it." I understand just fine and know a swindle when I see it. So....get a loan, use a regular and fair credit card, just don't use Care Credit. Absolutely the worse I have ever seen!

My son had to have a very expensive orthodontic procedure done. The doctor would let us set up a payment plan with them and told us we had to put the amount on the GE Care Credit card. The terms were supposed to be 18 months interest free financing which sounded good because I knew I could pay it off in less than a year. The terms also specified No Penalty for Early Payment. When I paid off the card in 9 months, I was charged a service charge or fee for paying off the balance early.

When I called their customer service number, I got the royal run around, bounced around from voicemail to voicemail. I simply subtracted the service charge from the balance on the statement and refused to pay it. Then they started charging me interest every month on that balance. I finally turned them over to the BBB and the Fair Trade Commission. I never paid them one dime when I saw on the BBB that there were hundreds of similar complaints lodged against the company. And you know what? It didn't hurt my credit rating by one point. I was not aware that Amazon Store Card was not what it was advertised to be and I just now was "offered" one by Amazon. I won't be using that card anymore. I guess I should close the account.

We have used Care Credit since 2005. We always have paid the promotional balances on time. When Synchrony bank took over our nightmare began. We knew when our promotion ran out and before we could pay it off, the next one ran out. How did this happen? When we made a payment we thought was going toward the promotional balances; in fact about 90% goes toward the expired balances which are rolling over 25% interest retroactive! So if you have more than one promotional balance as we did (thinking we were paying them off before expiration) you are not. You have to call them every time you send a payment and tell them to apply it to the promotional balance! This of course raises your interest-bearing balance to an insurmountable amount. We are retired and this is drowning us in a debt we will NEVER pay off. DO NOT USE THIS. MAKE OTHER ARRANGEMENTS FOR EMERGENCY DENTAL WORK.

Things were okay in the beginning. The supposedly the "Amazon" store card then became Synchrony Bank Card Account?? I have "regular" big named ones and they do not do what happens with this card... I make a payment and everyone knows in that payment is the principal and interest; correct? That is how "normal" credit cards and accounts supposed to work? Well it doesn't with this one. I make a payment and after the payment is credited some time about three to fours days later and "interest" charge is then added to the credit balance lowering the available credit limit???

I am thinking WTH... Even a lawyer friend of mine also went WTH when they saw it and recommended me to contact my state's attorney general. Then my friend told me this is a clear case of usury under the law and we couldn't find anything explaining this in the credit agreement either. It might explain why this "Company" is not called GE Credit any longer and now Synchrony Bank which IS NOT AMAZON, despite AMAZON calling it their "store credit card"... GE Credit was sued big time class action type for "lending/credit" practices. The "card" limit isn't large nor is it worth the junk I am being put through by these people; BUT you can bet karma happens...

I used my card on 7/28/2015 for the first time in years. On 8/11/2015 the account was closed and sent to collections. Before it was even due. In 2011 I opened an account with my father. The limit was $9500. He passed away in 2012. Some time after that I called to inform CareCredit. They stated they removed him and lowered my limit to $1500 without him on it. On 7/28/15 I used the card at my son's dentist appointment for $104.80. On 8/4/15 they issued a statement with a due date of 8/27/15. I noticed my father's name was on the statement as "secondary" so on 8/11/15 I called CareCredit who informed me my account was at recovery and they had to transfer me. I asked how that could be since it had been less then two weeks since I made the charge? I EVENTUALLY made it to someone that identified themself as a manager who told me they restored the account and it will be fixed.

On 8/13/2015 my husband received a call from a COLLECTION company to verify MY death date! I am in the middle of a home refinance! Not only did they send my account to collections after TWO WEEKS FROM THE DATE I USED THE CARD. They clearly ran my credit to get my husband's phone number to call to verify. I am in the middle of a home refinance and this could potentially ruin it and cost me a lot of money. The card will now show on my report as closed by credit grantor, and I never missed a payment or did anything wrong. When I called back today I spoke with 5 different people who all told me different things:

    1) "There are no managers here today, call back Monday." 2) "Your account is closed permanently." 3) "Your account closed because it expired." (There is no expiration on CareCredit cards and I used it two weeks prior.) 4) "Your account closed due to inactivity." (But it worked on 7/28/15?) 5) "I don't know why they closed it." 6) "Call back Monday to get the loan you want." (I don't want a loan! And I can't have my credit run right now!) 7) "It is set to issue you a new card." (Nooooo! I am refinancing! I can't have my credit run. Please don't!)

I asked repeatedly to speak with managers and I was refused for different reasons. Most common was, "Why do you want to talk to them?" Then when I explained for the millionth time they would say, "We'll they can't help you anyway. It's already done." I went as far as calling the Synchrony bank main line to see if I could just get someone to help that could get me a number above the extremely rude and taunting bottom level customer service reps. I did get one above once to someone who couldn't do anything but said there was nobody above her to talk to. She then informed me I had never talked to a manager before (who exactly was the person that said they were and "fixed" it all?).

I am so extremely upset. I was on the phone over 7 hours total with both days and I literally got nowhere, they won't help at all. Please pull those calls! Half those people should be fired. I asked one extremely antagonizing guy what his name and ID number was and he refused to give me either! Someone please help me with this! I am going to find an attorney! It has to be illegal to send something to collections after TWO WEEKS FROM THE PURCHASE DATE. The bill shows a due date of 8/27/15!

Why would I pay $94.00 when the discrepancy between the Promotional Amount Balance and the Current Balance is only $62.00 in late fees?!!! Why?!!! They could not be bothered to change the amount due, even for the sake of logic!

May 15, 2015, I placed $2,000.00 on my CareCredit card. They have been pleasant to work with. I have read the other reviews on here and have had the completely opposite experience with this company. My credit plan was 0% financing for 12 months (0% APR if paid off before the 12 months. After 12 months it would increase to 26%). I understood the loan that I had signed up. The woman that helped me establish the account was wonderful over the phone. I applied a week ahead of when I had to pay at the office and was given a $4,500.00 balance. I then used the card and it went as smoothly as other credit cards.

The charge was on the account within 24 hours and the next statement started in the beginning of June. I could make a payment online, over the phone, or through the mail by sending in a check. I preferred to pay online and the statements showed up each month under the statement tab. I have only called twice and both times if I had any questions the automated system would ask me what I was calling about and then I would say my question and ask for a representative. It would roughly take top 5-10 minutes to get a person on the other line. They would ask a few verifying questions and then I would be able to ask my question.

I have also used the CHAT online and I find it easier to get to the point and answer. I will use this loan company in the future. I paid off the credit of $2000.00 in the beginning of August and have received a confirmation letter. I did request this through the online CHAT. I have not had a bad experience and if you might have issues with credit or a loan this might not be a great card. They give you a few choices for the loan, different APR's for the length of months, and the monthly balances change on length of credit. CareCredit was a great card to use because my regular credit company would have charged interest on the 2 months it took to pay off. Thank you CareCredit for the great experience!

I got a CareCredit card with a deferred payment plan. Made my first payment and CareCredit claimed it was wrong bank account number so they added all charges right away. I gave them my number again and even had our bookkeeper give it and every month they would accept payment and then claim I had wrong bank number. So I got payoff balances for mine and my husband's accounts. Mailed two separate checks with individual account numbers on them. The checks were issued thru PNC bank. CareCredit applied my check to my husband's acct. along with his and applied nothing to my account. I got a bill for late charges from them the next month.

I thought it was a mistake. Next month received another one, so I contacted them and they argued with me about my method of payment and why they applied both to my husband’s acct. The best they could come up with was because I mailed them in the same envelope. These checks were clearly names and had different account numbers on them. This is their fault. I cannot control what they do with payment once received. They have racked up 636.00 worth of fees that I do not owe.

This is now on my credit report and I can't seem to get it removed. They have contacted many collection agencies regarding these charges, and when I explained it to them, they refused to go any further, so they hire another one. They have harassed me for years over their mistake, and now it is affecting a loan I am trying to get, so unfair. I reported it to the Fair Credit Act, they never responded either. So never will I ever recommend anyone use this card.

With GE I didn't have the issues I have had since the accounts were switched to Synchrony Bank. Here is what I have experienced. Great reduction in my credit card limits which has killed my avail credit to used credit ratio that has tanked my credit score. Example - my Discover Walmart card with from a CL of about $5000 to $1600. This reduction in credit happened AFTER I paid. My balance to under $2000. So I pay it, on time even, as I pay the card down, my avail credit is reduced. Excessive late fees. Some I have been able to have credited including JCP, Amazon, Walmart. Non-credit for payments that were made directly from my bank account sent to Paypal. Several payments don't seem to be posted to my account, eventually Paypal started returning the payments to my bank. So I have about 4 payments which have disappeared and 3 payments rejected (?) and returned to my bank. Incredibly poor customer service.

I have contacted Paypal twice on the site with no response, and twice in person. I asked for a ledger of payments for the last year and was told that could not be sent to me by email, or by USPS. I called again (same day) and this rep said she would email me the information. I am still waiting. Paypal statements are an ABSOLUTE JOKE!! I don't know of a creditor that provides a statement that does not include your account balance, payments, credits, late fees, etc. My statements actually say No activity with no additional information. Having an account with this company is like lighting a fire to your hard earned cash. I strongly advise against EVER getting any credit card that is tied to Synchrony bank. Just save yourself the frustration and $$$.

Normally I go on these sites to write nasty reviews when a company has screwed me over. But CareCredit certainly wasn't one of them. I think it's great that they cover medical, dental, vet, vision, and even cosmetic procedures, and the no interest promotion periods on large purchases are great. Usually fees and problems occur if you are relying on paper statements. Registering your card online allows you to look at your balance and purchases, see your due dates and amounts, and pay easily online. I've never had a problem with being charged anything incorrectly. I've used my card in emergency situations with my high maintenance cat that has diabetes and asthma, it helped save his life.

We spoke to 3 different employees who each stated that it takes 10 days to post to your account. The 4th employee just blamed the Post Office! We eventually got someone to reverse the late charge but they will not guarantee it won't happen each time. We've never dealt with a credit company who doesn't consider the payment received on the actual day they received it. Some people may not check their statements or challenge these questionable fees! In 2006, I struck out on my own financially at the age of 22 and quickly encountered a medical condition that necessitated a Care Credit card (my first credit card, in fact). At the time, the bill totalled about $3,500 and I made regular payments as I could. Over time, as Care Credit changed hands from GE Money to Synchrony Bank, interest rose and I could not keep up with payments. After 7 years, the debt dropped off my credit report in accordance with California Statute of Limitations on debt. Just this June 2015 (9 1/2 years after I first opened the card), Synchrony Bank decided to engage in a lawsuit against me to obtain **$9,600** to include interest accrued over the course of 9 years.

Without the means or funds to fight this, they garnished a working capital business loan that had just been deposited into my SAVINGS ACCOUNT to help my current retail shop stay open. They were merciless when I explained the situation, as I cited again that this was a nearly 10-year old balance, past the statute of limitations of debt collection. They said I could pay in 2 installments instead, starting that day, but wouldn't release the $9,600 garnished until this was done, essentially forcing me to come up with an ADDITIONAL $9,600 to cover the balance before MY MONEY was returned to me. This is effectively putting me out of business and I absolutely cannot believe a credit card company is permitted to take these measures when the economy is so tenuous and people's livelihoods are at stake.

Amazon.com has partnered or owns Synchrony Bank and for the second time within less than 2 years I've been sent a statement saying I didn't pay for an item I am told I charged to an Amazon Store Card and the Bank added a late fee. The fact is that I do not even have such a card, never agreed to having one, and did not receive a previous statement. I've seen that numerous Amazon.com customers have encountered a variety of problems because of this Bank. I called Amazon.com and told its customers service representative to remove the card and any connections my Amazon.com account may have with this Bank.

Synchrony Bank is found in Ripoff Report. Why Amazon.com continues to use this scummy Bank, which obviously infiltrated my account and added this store card I've never seen. My plan is to "eat" the fraudulent late fee by sending this Bank a check in the mail since I don't want to provide them with my personal bank account information. If you're curious, this Bank is located in Orlando, FL, which is known for having sleazy businesses.

I was never notified that my account was past due as my extra payment covered the late fees until July 2015 at which time I received an email that they had not received my July payment and that I owed $24.00.

When I called I was then told that they had in fact received my payment but they had taken 5 months of late fees out of my payments so now it was showing up short. I should have been notified in March that my payment was missed but they chose to continue to charge me 5 months of late fees totaling $171.00 before notifying me. Had I made the regular payment and made it on the scheduled date rather than early I would have received a late notice and this could have been resolved before I was charged 5 months of fees. When I contacted the company they refused to reverse the charges and would only reverse 1 late fee.

This bank took over my paypal credit account. First, they closed the account and immediately said I could NOT set up automatic payments to come out of my bank because of that. Suddenly I quit getting bills, so they charged me late fees. Then they started calling. I made a payment for two months which THEY COULDN'T FIND, even though I have PROOF it came out of my bank! They continued to call repeatedly even after I sent proof twice and continually pressured me to make extra payments until they resolved the issue! They will NOT allow automatic payments thus creating further late charges... Even charged me late fees while I questioned their 'MISSING' Payments Department as to WHERE did my payment go! So, I just went on their phone automated system which is extremely difficult.

First they tell me they DO NOT take credit card payments... hahaha! Another way to screw the consumer and keep more money for themselves. Then they tell me that they don't have my bank information on file and I have to set it up all over again! I know for a fact I have done this already! If I need a person to help me they charge $10.00 more and after spending an inordinate amount of time the recording asked if I wanted to confirm the payment and I said yes. It then immediately says, "Okay, cancel this transaction!" It is enough to send anyone over the top! VERY, VERY suspicious... intentionally creating higher interest and false fees! The dentist submitted a sales draft $15,000.00 I advised I did not sign after taking provider entrusted personal info and raised my credit line same day by $6500. They claim I signed a contract which was only a pre-treatment estimate good for only 6 months. I advised dentist within 4 days I did not want this treatment but they said the treatment plan I wanted would be additional $20,000. What I did not know on that 4th date was they had already charged CareCredit and not knowing this I allowed this dentist to start a root canal and resin work, which after the substandard work done and the dentist's refusal to talk to me for days saying the only person who could discuss my treatment was out of town for the rest of the week when I called.

As events unfolded I learned of the $15,000 credit charge and claims over $11,000 to my dental insurance. I now understand once the dentist charged me they would not allow me to change or cancel treatment even though I told them I did not want the $15,000 estimated pre-treatment presented or understand the charges and did not trust the root canal work supposedly done. I now know they rushed. During this time no one would speak to me and in their own lab created "stuff" they claim I must still pay $8000 of the estimated offered treatment plan. I went to this dentist in good faith and advised I did not want this treatment within 4 days.

I cannot believe the way CareCredit refuses to accept my dude of the story. There is clear fraud to me, the credit card and my insurance. I am being forced to legally pay for a charge I did it authorize and I did not sign for. I notified CareCredit as soon as I knew. I've offered a second dentist could surely provide X-rays of proof I still need the dental work. I went to a second dentist within a week of the botched root canal and he could not even determine which tooth the root canal had been done as well as offered me plan where I keep my teeth and do not pull as this dentist I went to said was necessary.

The free consult was billed and also claims paid from my dental plan for approx $1200. Right now the dentist has the dental claims paid to them plus still have CareCredit billing me an additional $8000 and all I have to show is a botched root canal and resin work and still need the work not done and repairs to work this dentist botched. I cannot believe a dentist can commit this type of fraud to a trusting consumer and not be accountable for doing the right thing. I hope my review will save another consumer from signing anything on a free consult that can be misrepresented into the nightmare I am now dealing with.

In February 2013, I had to have a crown placed on a molar and didn't have the cash, so the dentist suggested I apply for Care Credit, which I did and for which I was approved. The dentist charged me $1,020 for the crown and it was on a 6 mos same as cash. I was so desperate I hadn't questioned the price of the crown. I was told I needed gum graft on immediately or I risked losing two teeth; another emergency. I was told that it would be $650 if I paid cash, $950 if I used CareCredit. I was told that the $300 was to cover the dental office's handling fees with Care Credit. As I didn't have $650, I had to suck it up and have the extra fees tacked on to this, a 9 months same as cash.

I paid more than the balance but the payments were split between the two so neither was paid within the promotional period. Consequently, interest at the rate of 26.99% was added to the services plus the service charges. I am paying well over the minimum due (which is still high) and still, after almost two years, owe $1,196.00! For two teeth, I will be paying approximately another 3 years! I always pay above the minimum and immediately upon receiving the bill so I have not had a problem with Synchrony. That said the problem is the amount seems almost usurious!

I would suggest to anyone contemplating the use of CareCredit to consider this carefully. If you haven't the cash and you MUST use Care Credit, ask your provider if they pass their Care Credit fees back to their patients. If the answer is yes, you might consider other options. I am resigned to this payment but angry that my situation forced me to use these guys. I now need more dental work but have no intention of having it done with CareCredit. I have learned the hard way. Hopefully, this heads up will save someone else from a lifetime of maximum debt for minimum service.

I have 5 promotional balances with this bank. Their claim is that there is no interest if you pay off the balance within the specified time period. I received a notice several months ago. A balance was due to expire and I paid more each month anticipating paying it off with this month's payment. Instead, Care Credit took last month's payment and split it between several balances leaving me a large balance to pay off to avoid interest charges.

When I called them, the call center person told me my balance would actually be over $200 MORE than the promotional balance to avoid the interest charges. Seems they split these payments so that the expiring balance does not get paid by the due date and you are stuck with high-interest payments. In this case, I need to pay $655 to avoid interest charges instead of the stated promotional balance of $436 (which actually SHOULD have been $245 if they had not split my payment). This practice totally favors the bank at the consumer's expense and is basically a 'bait and switch' type of tactic.

A couple months back I realized while making a payment that it appeared that I may have missed the prior month’s payment. So I called their customer service dept. to inform them that I would be sending last month's with this month's. The kind lady on the phone informed me that some time in the past year or so that I had made 1 or more extra payments and was actually ahead of my payment schedule, great news but this is where my privacy ends. Two days following that phone call the harassing phone calls started and continue almost every day including Sundays and Holidays. So now my account is 2 months ahead on payments yet I continue to receive calls daily. I answered one of them and asked why, check my account status, and the fellow says "Yes you are ahead of your schedule," so I inform him to quit calling. Tomorrow the same thing and so on.

About a week later on a Saturday I answer again and tell the next fool the same thing and again I am told, "Oh yes I see you are ahead on your payments," so I ask why and am given no solid reason yet the harassment continues daily with the phone calls as late as 9:00pm. So I decided to do a little research on the BBB website as well as this one and have discovered that this must be the most ineptly run company in the world. The complaints are astounding. I am fascinated by how such a large outfit could operate in this country with such scumbag tactics and get away with it. If I were to engage in this type of activity I am sure I would be met with some type of negative fallout from harassing communications yet the BIG Government cronies of Wall Street are met with no resistance and get away with violating the law.

I have informed Synchrony on three separate occasions now to cease all phone calls but the harassment continues daily. I never had any dissatisfaction to this degree when it was GE Lending. It amazes me how this type of behavior is tolerated by our broken Government Judicial branch and cannot believe it continues after reading all of the complaints against this company. Someone needs to be held accountable somewhere. Where is the justice for the little guy? Do we have any rights at all under this current administration at all? Do my tax dollars go to enable conduct like this or prevent it? How can such a large Mega-Institution have such a piss-poor computer and record keeping system that allows this type of inaccuracy?

If a banking institution conducted themselves in this manner 30 some years ago they would have been met with lawsuits and forced to clean up their act, but today our enforcement, or lack thereof, allows this happen as if it is normal. I am a taxpayer, where is my representation? Where is my expected right to privacy and why doesn't our equally as inept Government do anything about it? Oh I forgot that Synchrony probably made a political contribution along the way somewhere that enables this type of behavior. The system is too big and too broken for repair. Where is the justice for the little guys?

How can a supposedly civilized society operate in this fashion and why is our government so willing to do absolutely nothing to protect the consumer? Where are MY RIGHTS? I am sick of this already. What defines harassment? What's next? Will they also allow them to show up at my residence to continue to harass me over being ahead on my payments? This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. Attorney General are you listening? Do you care? I bet you would if we all quit paying taxes due to lack of representation. In conclusion I would not piss on Synchrony if they were on fire and the last game in town. How do these large companies wind up being directed by a bunch of complete fools and then paid unheard of sums of money? The system is BROKEN. Fix it or lose it.

I called Walmart and told them I will no longer shop there as long as they use this bank. I hope all the stores that are using them stop so we don't get our credit ruined. This is very wrong. It will hurt my credit score that they have done this and I have been trying very hard to repair what my ex ruined for me. I am very disappointed in this bank. I also have this bank for another card, and as well on that card I have never been late and never missed a payment and that account is 8 years old. Dumb bank. When I embarked on my dental 18 month dental implant ordeal in November of 2013 the oral surgeon's office manager encouraged me to finance through CareCredit. He informed me that no interest would be assessed if I paid my balance in full within 2 years. On that basis, I applied for a CareCredit Card with a balance sufficient to cover the surgery as well as the dentist's charges. I have always paid on time, never missed a payment.

As of last month I had paid an approximately $16,000 balance down to roughly $5,600. Yesterday I got my CareCredit Bill and was shocked to see a new balance of $7,244! They had added $1,639 in interest charges! When I called Synchrony and talked to their agent, I was informed that the promotional period was for 18 months, expiring in May. I distinctly remember being informed at the outset that it was for 24 months. I'm in the process of searching for the original agreement. I'm furious over this! Don't fall for the CareCredit scam!

If you were caught in a desperate situation at the vet's office with your best little pal (insert pet name here) and were immediately approved for this supposedly legal capitalist program, these things might helpful to know:

It's a trap and you are now forced to do business through a bank you've probably never heard of. You will get hit with a monstrous 26.99% interest rate until it's over, if ever, if and when: a) you pay your balance even just a minute, not day, late (see below). There is no grace period and will get charged with a $35 late fee, b) you swipe that debt-ridden little card of yours for anything under $200, they may not even care if it was by accident done by the merchant, and c) after your "contract" is over, if there's a remaining balance, you will end up paying the interest rate of that ENTIRE duration of your contract regardless. Either way, you're paying that ** interest rate.

This is how you could potentially pay by a minute late if done online: The company runs on Eastern time. After 5 pm the payment won't reflect until the next business day. Since there's so many complaints about CareCredit being sneaky, waiting until the last minute is exactly what they want you to do and will even trick you into doing it somehow. Customer service? No. Such. Thing. The runaround: you're a moron and you're poorer than the people who screwed you over to begin with and you're going to stay that way.

It can take 48 hours to process the payment. Inconveniently, if you're having an emergency and need to use the card before that, your account could possibly be frozen until that payment has gone through. Awesome. Now you could really use that chiropractic option right about now, huh? Cut your card in half, close your account, and pay in full if at all possible. These guys are like Mafia who play dirty and have friends in high places. They don't deserve your money. You have 12 months to pay off your balance in full before you're charged the monstrous interest rate of 26.99% of whatever is left on your balance, or worse, whatever they initially approved your credit for. Mmmm...

Then they claimed I owed them around $1500 of extra interest because the 2800 I owed them was 2 weeks late. That's 53% interest for borrowing 2800 for two weeks. Annualized, that's over 1,378 % interest. I told them I wouldn't pay it and they refused to settle so I paid off my balance and ignored them. They pestered me for years and it's finally over. After 7 years or so, it is too late for them to sue. I never paid them the interest. Anytime you get a free interest deal, you have to be REALLY CAREFUL to pay it off by the correct date or you get completely screwed over. That is the nature of these interest free contracts. I was able to remedy the situation by phone and online, and the late fee was removed from my account. No big deal, these things happen. However, two months later I again have failed to receive my bill. This time I caught it before the due date, but just barely, so I attempted to pay online once again. Not so easy this time.

The site kept me 'trapped' in my client info field, insisting that an update was needed. Despite all fields being completed, I was unable to proceed to the payment field, and had to resort to the unenviable task of trying to reach a human through their automated phone system. Again, not so easy this time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the automated payment will post on time, but I now have a very uneasy feeling about this company. It seems awfully strange that there have been two missed statements, particularly when I am on track to pay off the account within the interest-free time frame. Hmmm... Synchrony Bank took over my credit card account with JC Penny. Since that time, I have had NOTHING but problems. I was trying to pay my balance off, but that proved to be difficult. My outstanding balance on 11/18/2014 was $177.95. I have made NO purchases since 11/18/2014. I have made payments every month totaling $186.00 (all payments were in excess of the minimum payment). This just is not RIGHT! My payments were electronic and made prior to the payment due dates. Sometimes the payments were received by Synchrony a day or two late and some were received ON the payment due date. But, Synchrony just charged a late fee plus interest.

Another strange practice is they NEVER sent me a bill via mail and they did not email a bill. I was just checking my balance because I thought it was close to being paid off when I found out what was actually going on! I am a busy person, my other credit companies SEND ME BILLS so I know what's going on. Here's the best part, when you do go on the website, there is a SUMMARY page. I signed onto my account in March. The Payment Summary showed that the "Minimum Payment Due" was $0.00 and the payment due date was 3/11/2015. But, when I reviewed the "actual" statement the payment due was actually $41.00 not $0.00. If I didn't suspect a problem, I could have easily assumed that no payment was due and signed out. I'm sure many busy people do this, and then get hammered with a late fee. This is VERY Deceptive!!! You have to DIG to find out what is actually going on.

Forget calling the service center. It is difficult to understand the representatives. It sounds like they are Indian, and they speak in a low voice which makes it even worse. I have tried to get Synchrony to delete the late fees, but no such luck. Not only that, they have reported late payments to credit agencies. I like JCPenny, but it's not worth it! I am paying my balance in full and closing my account. Senator Elizabeth Warren should look into Synchrony Bank. I think I will send her an email as well. In my opinion, Synchrony Bank's business practices are questionable at best!

I made an attempt to make a payment to them using their IVR on the day I got paid (so I had plenty of money in my bank account). About a week or so later I get a collection call from them. I asked what happened to my payment and they said there was an error "cannot locate account" (R03) and was informed that normally this happens when the wrong acct number or routing number is entered in. However, I know that this isn't true because I remember listening to the IVR repeat back my entries before continuing.

In reality I entered the correct information and it is a failure with their system. So I set up a future dated check for my next paycheck date over the phone with a rep. I am now noticing on my account that that payment didn't happen either. So, I am assuming that they chose to reject it yet again even though I have plenty of money in my bank account. Here it is the weekend, and their customer support isn't open until 2 days from now. I need to see if I incurred a late fee. If so they will need to waive it or my account is getting closed out.

I will never again make a payment through their incompetent systems because it is impossible for the payment to go through. If I keep my account I will need to pay through my bank's online bill pay. I don't think it is fair for them to arbitrarily decline my payments and mess up my credit report or possibly charge me late fees as a result when I try so hard to pay them and they won't take my money. I have two Accounts with you; one is a 6 month promotion, and the other is a 4 year, 14% interest account. I made a payment of $132.00 on March 2nd to be applied to the balance of $2031.75. I specified that I wanted $56 to go to the interest account, and $76 to go to the 6 month promotion. If done properly, this would have brought the balances down to $81 on the 6 month promotion and $1818.75 on the interest account. This would leave the total balance on the account to $1899.75.

The payments were allocated incorrectly and after 5 phone calls to correct them, they are still allocated incorrectly. They are showing in your systems as $30 on the 6 month promotion and $1869.75 on the other. What is wrong with this picture? Why do I have to make 5 phone calls to correct my original request? I opened a GE CareCredit account (Now Synchrony Bank) for $4000 for eye surgery on the zero interest promotion. The way that works is that you pay zero interest unless you miss a payment, in which case CareCredit/Synchrony charges you all back interest at 29.99%. BEWARE! CareCredit sets that up, so that your payment leaves more than zero balance at the end of the promotional time period. In my case, I set this up so that CareCredit would automatically debit my checking account. I never missed a payment in two years. To my surprise, CareCredit set it up, so that the payments made would leave a $1864 balance not a zero balance. Since I knew my payments were automatically made from my checking account, and I never missed a payment, I thought there was no need to worry or check on the account. Well, on month 25, CareCredit added $2110.04 interest charge! Yet, I never missed a payment!

BEWARE. If you have one of their zero interest promotions, you must calculate the monthly payment to bring the balance to zero before the end of the promotion.

I have 2 promotional balances that have expired a few months ago and the interest added on is so ridiculous I am afraid that I will never be able to pay off my balance in full. The more money I send the more I fall behind. Very scary thing for a single mom trying to survive on very limited income. My ex dentist office pushed me hard to apply for this credit now I realize why. People in cahoots with each other to try and rip off folks with no insurance. I will get this paid off and never charge another dime with a company who charges over 26% interest for people with good credit but no cash. They do not deserve our business.

Don't get if you plan on financing anything in the next year -- I only got this card to get my Lasik which I paid off in a year. Big mistake was when I got it. I was unaware that one week after you use up the credit card (over that 65% of usage) that it will immediately drop your credit 40 points. I was about to finance something and that was put on hold until my lower balance allowed me to do what I needed to do. However your credit doesn't come back as fast as it can drop. It took me 6 months to get back to the good score I previously had.

After a lengthy chain of machine voices, got through to a representative. They would either send a check in 3 weeks or we could stop payment, which would cost us the interest we were avoiding. Although a good idea in the beginning, this company screws you when trying to make payments. They say it's the doctor's offices who set up the payments, which is probably true, but they also say they make sure a payment you are trying to make goes to a certain balance first. I have three different transactions on my card right now and a promotional balance that is now accruing interest since I couldn't pay it off in time ($971)! to be exact. So when I called care credit to make a payment towards that promotional balance to start paying it off, they wouldn't let me choose where I wanted it to go!

I had to make my minimum payment towards all three balances first even though I have 26 days left to make this minimum payment. It's **. So instead of paying $250 towards the $1120 that I owe, only $56 went towards that balance! Are you ** kidding me. And the online payment system doesn't have an option that lets you pick what balances you want to lower. They did set up a payment plan of sorts, but how does that help me if you won't let me choose where my payment goes. You would be better off using an actual credit card.

I have never been late with a payment and have always paid not only that which was required, but paid off the amt owed BEFORE the deadline and yet have had to call dozens and dozens of times... spend hours on the phone, and speak to someone about being charged a fee and my payment not going to the correct amt.

What they do is if you have used your card three different times, say for instance, first time Jan. 3 $300.00 with six months to pay with no interest until end of June... second time March 3, $300.00 with six months to pay no interest until end of August... and $600.00 May 3 with ONE YEAR to pay with no interest until May of following year... you make a payment of $100.00 and UNLESS YOU STATE IT AND EVEN THOUGH YOU DO... they only apply a little to all three amts so that you think you are getting $100.00 off the first amt and you are only getting approx $35.00 off the first amt. So after you have paid where you think you have paid off the first amt... YOU HAVEN'T because they did not apply all of the payments to that amt but SPREAD THEM OUT and then they charge you interest.

Under the Freedom of Information Act you may ask that they send you a copy of your records and all of the transactions therein. A few months later I used the card again, but this transaction would have interest charged, which I agreed to. What they did was apply all my payments from that day forward to the second transaction which being charged interest. Which in turn caused the first transaction to be stretched past the 'no interest' period, so then they charged me all the interest on the original transaction, which I did not agree to, nor was even notified that was their practice! When I called they basically said "oh well, that's our policy" and I should have specified where I wanted the payment to be applied. They're not to be trusted. Once you sign that contract, you are bound by that contract whether you obtained the services rendered or not. You will still have to pay and be harassed until they get every dollar out of your bank account. They don't care whether you obtained the services rendered or not. They don't care if you were happy with the services rendered by your doctor or not. Or if you are in a dispute with the provider. All they care about is getting that money. They destroy your good credit status. You didn't get the product or the services in which you signed your life away to.

You are now unable to go any place else to seek another service provider. Because they destroyed your credit status. And now you can't seek services any place else. But they don't care you signed on the dotted line, they don't give a ** if you obtained services or obtained your product. They want their money and it's not their money. Because you never received the product, nor did you obtain the services to which you are now so in debt with. But they don't care, they want that almighty dollar at whatever cost. Even if they didn't work for it themselves.

Silly me I always wondered how CareCredit made any $$$. Apparently the terms of the 18-month deal were not clear... As a result, I now owe 526 additional... The 66 dollars that I have been paying was not enough according to some additional terms still not clear to me... I will now have to hustle up the 526 unless I want to pay 27%...

The minimum payment is for $70 but they are charging me $50-60 in interest a month! Who in their right mind would use a card like this unless they got tricked into it. I receive no notice or anything in the mail, it took me way too long to realize they were ripping me off. I was under the assumption they cared about me and my doctor knew what was going on. Not the case. I have two other credit cards with less than half the interest of this one. Do not use this credit card. Not to mention their calling hours are a tiny window w-f, with no option to email them. They are very hard to get a hold of. We were told the amount and we sent it in. A month later we received a bill for the interest for the few days that it took for the money to get to them. Really??? I called them and raised cain. They said that is the interest by the day and I got billed $12.67 for the three days it took to get the payment to them. Then of course they didn't send the bill till the following month. So there you have another 27 days of interest at 24.99% for the $12.67. When I got off the phone I got my satisfaction and they took off all the charges and my bill was zeroed out. Needless to say we well never use this account again and the card was shredded.

They advertise no interest for specified time but if you are late on a payment (even by a minute) that no longer applies and interest is applied to the whole balance. The interest rate is laughable. I do not see how this company can provide an option for payment to those in need. I also noticed some account security charge on my account each month. When I called them they said it was something to help pay off the balance if I lost my job or became unable to pay. I told them I did not want this on the card and was told I had to give them permission to be enrolled in the 'program'. I would of never of given them permission for this because it is an obvious scam. Look at their history of class action lawsuits. They are changing their name to Synchrony Bank. I have to wonder if this name change is due to the negative name and they have made for themselves and the history of lawsuits. Pathetic company. A high-interest regular credit card still would have a lower interest rate. I urge you.... do not apply for this card.

We had taken out a $6K loan to have some dental work done. We immediately paid off $4K of this (within 3 days of the procedure), and I just received my monthly statement/bill in the mail. They showed that we had paid off the $4K, but were still charging us the $250/month payment, that would pay off the original $6K in 24 months. The reason we paid so much upfront was because we wanted a lower monthly payment and had to pay for the procedure upfront (we had to wait for the $4K to come in from another source, and it was after the payment deadline for the procedure).

We thought this would put our payments around $83/month, which we budgeted for, and were fine with. I called to get CareCredit to change this monthly amount accordingly, and they would not budge, even after 25 minutes of explaining to a Supervisor that we could not afford $250/monthly payments, so now we have to put the payments on another credit card and then pay that credit card off. You would think that a company called "Care"Credit would want to work WITH their customers and not AGAINST them.

We will not use the line of credit we have with CareCredit again, I will discourage my friends and family from using them, and instead encourage them to take out a traditional loan, as we are highly disappointed with our experience with them. If customers are ahead of their payment schedule, GE CareCredit does not care, nor will they adjust payments accordingly, or allow us to defer those payments, so paying ahead of time, and more than is expected, does not help you out with this company. There are simply too many other reasonable options to use this company that will not do anything to assist with account holders.

After several procedures (some of which were questionable), the clerk presented her with a form for Carecredit, which she signed, also while in a state of duress. This gave us no time to question the procedures and the cost, which we thought were exorbitant; $11,000 was placed with Carecredit, and the dentist received his money. It has been brought to my attention that a ruling by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has ordered Carecredit to pay back $34m in restitution. I called Carecredit this morning, as my balloon payment is due, and was told that they will add $2,600.00 if I don't pay $7,000.00 by the due date, August 3rd. If you want interest-free promotional financing you must charge a certain amount for it to take effect. It's best to contact GE CareCredit to find out the amount. You would think that GE CareCredit would give more favorable rates for their customers, who are mostly using it to pay for some health or veterinary issue. With their high interest rate you're better off using a credit card even if it's close to being maxed out.

Starting a few months ago, I would go to log in and it would lock me out of my account even if my password was correct. I would have to call to make a payment. First of all, their automated system is ridiculous. It takes forever to get through to an actual person. I would go through the whole menu and even when I would say, "I would like to speak to a representative" it would say, "we understand you would like to speak to a representative but first we would like to know why". Then when I would say why it would send me to the end of the menu and hang up on me. I would have to call back 3-4 times before I actually got through to a person. I have to do this every month to pay.

The representatives have all been really friendly and they have all waived the $10 fee for paying over the phone (which is outrageous anyway) because it wasn't my fault. Each month the representative told me that they are having trouble with their online payment system because of updates on Firefox/internet explorer/chrome's end of things. It has been at least four months. Why has this not been corrected yet? I have a payment due today and I went to log in to pay it and it locked me out again. I can't call the customer service hotline to make a payment this time because it's Sunday. What kind of customer service company isn't open on Sunday? I better not get hit with a late fee. This has been the most confusing mess I've ever experience with a credit card company. I applied for a Care Credit Card from GE Money Bank in 2007 in the amount of $1000.00. My purpose was to have the Invisalign braces put on to correct some orthodontic problems. The dentist informed me I needed to have some deep cleaning done beforehand so I had one procedure done and paid the dental office $112.00 on a $420.00 bill. They also used my Care Credit card.

About 2 weeks, the dental office sent me a check for the dental bill with my name on it and GE Money Bank. Here is where my trouble began. I put my account number from the Care Credit Card on the check and sent it to GE Money Bank. I did not get a bill from them until about 2 months later in an amount over $600. I only used the Care Credit card once. From that day to this, no one has been able to find the check I sent them. I immediately called them to inform them that the amount on the bill was incorrect but the customer service personnel was so rude and unhelpful. They told me if there was any mistake made, it was from the dental office.

I have talked to the dental office on several occasions and they assured me the original bill for $420 was correct. I told them I would not pay them anything until we could get this matter settled. During a time when the bill had gotten to about $700.00, I was still trying to work out a solution with a very rude customer service representative who told me, "Well, now your bill is $1000.00." I told her she could not do that and she said yes she could. I told her I would not pay that because I did not owe $1000.00.

I have tried to work this out on several occasions with GE Money Bank but because of the astronomical interest rates, I felt like I was trying to dig myself out of a deep hole that had no bottom. They are now suing me for $1547.00. And every time I call the lawyer's office, they give me a rate that is 300-400 dollars higher than what they say they are suing me for.

Lasik Plus forwarded my complaint and I got a phone call in two days time and a letter in 5 days time from GE Money Bank, telling me the late fee was credited and I was not being double billed, and they were "sorry that happened to you" (me) And after all this I still would NOT recommend care credit to anyone but they did make me happy only after I spent more time than it was worth in complaining.

    Original Review: March 8, 2014

I have your card CC thru GE Capital. I scheduled auto pay, but it did not kick in, in time, and I was hit with a $25 late fee. This account is new, and I used it for my Lasik eye surgery. I called customer service on 3/7 and was told I needed to schedule my payment over the phone in order for her to take the fee off. I told her I already scheduled auto pay, and it shows double payments will come out on 3/26. She told me to schedule it with her and cancel the auto pay, then after the 26th resubmit the auto pay. I said that was not customer service and why couldn't she just credit me $25 now and let the payment come out on 3/26. She then talked over me and told me that my fee will never be taken care of and they will report to credit and care credit will be the only card I ever have because of it. She was VERY rude.

I swear I am going to record all of my calls to anywhere that outsources to India because that's exactly where she was answering my call from. She was such a ** and so verbally rude, I just couldn't believe it. I now canceled my auto pay and once I continue to get phone calls and letters I will send them right back to you and once you report it to my credit I will dispute it. You aren't getting anything out of me until you credit me $25. Period.

I was looking through the Care Credit Physicians for weight loss clinics in my area. I found a physician/clinic through the Care Credit website. The physician is actually listed with the company name on Care Credit's website. It makes you believe that you are going to a credible facility with an actual medical doctor overseeing thing. I went to the Laser Clinic of Chesapeake. They advertise iLipo treatments and that a physician worked in the office. It isn't until something is going wrong that you find out that it is not iLipo as advertised AND there is NO physician actually working in the office. The physician is the "Medical Director" and the physician is an OBGYN that never steps foot in the practice. The only reason they have a Medical Director is so they have the ability to use the medical license to purchase the medical equipment and to get acceptance for Care Credit.

When I was experiencing a funky rash all over my back, the weight loss they promised was not working and they were faking measurements and weight measurements. I brought it to their attention. The clinic refused to allow me to see or speak with the medical physician because they said it was not a medical problem in why I was not losing weight. I asked to speak with the medical doctor numerous times and every time was degraded and made to be this fat ogre.

I contacted Care Credit to find out why they would refer to a clinic that does not actually have a medical physician and I wanted to know their credentialing for picking service providers, and they told me that they don't have to be medical physicians to be with Care Credit. Deceptive information because I thought that was exactly what Care Credit was about. I launched a complaint and filed a fraud claim in which I was allowed little explanation of my actual complaint. When the clinic wrote a letter stating that everything I stated was false, Care Credit took it upon themselves to refuse to hear anything further from me and closed the complaint in favor of the provider.

So I guess you need to research these "PHYSICIANS" before you get any treatment or see a physician and not trust the deceptive script from Care Credit that you are actually going to be referred to a licensed medical facility where a doctor is actually working within the building. I was under the impression that Care Credit was for use with a no kidding medical doctor and they advertise as such. This facility did not have a doctor in the building and when I contacted the doctor's office that the Physician that was advertised actually worked for, they refused to give my message to the doctor or return my calls.

I got a number of harassing emails from the owner of the Laser Clinic of Chesapeake and Care Credit stands behind their "Physicians." I now have to pay thousands of dollars and I had a medical issue for the lack of weight loss and for the rash. I did not get the services for which I am paying and I feel ripped off.

My wife needed some emergency dental work done and the office recommended this card explaining that it was interest free for one year. We had no alternative options so we went ahead and opened an account and charged the $6000 on the card. We did our best to pay it off, but of course after one year we get nailed with a huge interest charge for the past year. Now I look and we are paying 26.99% APR on this debt. I have never paid that kind of interest on anything. I would think something like this that is presented as a good way to help people pay for needed medical expenses would not be so greedy. I guess it is just another credit card. Anyways, I am paying $122 in interest every month to these thieves. Unreal. I will be paying this thing off as soon as I get the chance - hopefully sooner than later.

When I signed up for CareCredit I understood that if I didn't pay off the promotional balance would be charged the interest. But the way they structure the minimum payments does not add up to the total balance due after the 12-18 month promotional period. They structure it in a way that even if you're paying the minimum balance on your bill every month, at the end of the promotional period you still owe on the balance. Then they tack on the $800+ of back interest plus about $30 per month till the balance is paid. It's such a deceitful way to get you to pay hundreds more than expected. I would never recommend this credit company nor will I ever use it again.

The plan was I would take over the payments (he was going to pay me) once his bankruptcy was complete. Wrong. Care Credit, GE Capital CHARGED OFF this account on me one month BEFORE the bankruptcy was even completed. My lawyer has been trying to get them to work with me to pay the debt, settle the debt, and prevent it from going to collections further, and take off the charge off from my credit.

I was never sent one piece of correspondence about this action. I was never given a chance. They just did it, destroyed my credit and refuse to talk to me or my lawyer. It has been now 5 months of trying and the lawyer, although she has my power of attorney, and they also have it, can't do much more for me. This is unfair credit reporting. I am now going to write the BBB and take this on myself.

July 2013, Dentist ** was going to replace my white but bulky upper arch Cerinates with the same shade crowns for $8,600.- There was also a loose implant. This was something special that I was treating myself to. What he installed were grayish horse teeth, almost twice as long as my natural ones. He did not respond to my remarks, so I sent a complaint to Care Credit asking for my money back so that I could find a more-experienced specialist. Dr. ** emailed that he would fix it to my satisfaction. Shortly after, a CareCredit woman called to say that Dr. ** had" acted in good faith", therefore CareCredit was siding with him. Since he promised to correct his mistakes, I did what she said, let him continue but the job was not finished. What if he messed up again? "Then you submit another complaint," she said. All the while, I paid 1/12th every month online without waiting for a bill.

Next, a temporary one-piece arch with off center 'teeth' all pointing 20* to the left were installed. I had brought him a model of my natural teeth as well as one with the Cerinates, so that he could get closer to my natural fit. I had expressly noted on the intake sheet that I couldn't have Epinephrine, yet he recklessly sneaked it in without anyway causing a very frightening vascular reaction. The assistant refused to let me sit up to get some air in my lungs; she also did not know how to take blood pressure, fumbling with 2 different instruments without getting an accurate reading.

The 2nd set of crowns were closer in color to the Cerinates I had started out with, in a more more natural length but with huge triangle spaces that gave me a very 'wet speech', making people step back from me. Everyone told me I should have it corrected. Back to temporaries. Originally, I had a cantilevered bridge at the right end, meaning 2 crowns ending with a cantilevered spacer that had worked well for 4 years. His temporary cantilever was very small and unsupported by the gums (a large space between it and the gums) that quickly broke off. The final set of crowns was his original gray with no cantilevered right end, and a totally mismatched / sized left bridge of a different style, color and length. He replaced the loose implant with a huge shiny post that looks like an amalgam; I had all amalgams removed years ago. I now have shooting pains in that area, which he also has ignored. I would have expected the same post material that I started out with and at least some explanation as to why there should be shooting pains. He would not start installing the final set without my signing some paper, of which he gave me no copy.

I came to this dentist in good faith, paying good money for what was to be an improvement. Any ethical dentist would have honestly informed me of his inexperience in this type of dentistry so I'd had a chance to find someone better. This whole torture lasted from July through end of December 2013. I lost 12 lbs of body weight that I can ill afford.

But back to CareCredit: I called to lodge a new complaint as I had been told, about the shoddy outcome - longer, different style and color left fangs - and a very rude woman snapped that this case had already been decided months ago regardless of when it was finished, and no new complaint was going to be accepted. They are not pro-consumer, their main goal seems to be making interest off consumers who expect some help back up. It feels like the dentist must have paid some membership that was more valuable to them than the cardholder. Instead of the expected improvement, I went through 5 months of torture and a mismatched upper arch with a missing right cantilever, new shooting pains at the implant site and a very rude, uncooperative CareCredit company. All I can say is beware of GE CareCredit!

I have not had a late bill, however as of the 18th month, I get a $502.00 interest charge. When I called they stated that if you don't pay the bill in 18 months, the past due interest charges will be applied. I asked her why didn't they give me payments for the 18 months so that the bill would have been paid off timely. She said they only give you the minimum amount that is due. So that's lets you know right away that they set you up as to not pay the bill in 18 months.

They are a fraud and a rip off. To this date I still have not received a card or information on the card. She stated that if I give her $1152.00 on the phone to pay off the balance then she will see what she can do regarding the interest. I don't see how the government allows these so called credit companies to exist. They are worst than loan sharks. Everyone don't believe that what goes around will come around. They send a bill once a month but it's never in time to pay them. They draw you in with telling you have 6 months no interest but you don't because I like most people consider a month to be at least 30 days not 21 to 27. If you get paid once a month you never catch up no matter what you pay.

I thought this was like an expensive finance company until they raised the interest rate making them just a payday loan company with offices out of state. He has been getting collection calls at 7am threatening him daily.

At one time I found a charge against my debit card claiming to be for dental work in Minnesota. I looked up the dentist only to find him in Oregon. I live in neither state! It turns out that Care Credit was trying to take money out of my bank account for work that was never done and was never authorized on the debit card.

And then I asked her if there was a way to appeal the decision. She said no. (But that doesn't make sense, because if you can reapply with a co-signer, then there must be.) Over the past few years as the economy struggled so did I. I fell behind in other areas but not this account. My son broke his hearing aids last week as well as the TV. I purchased a TV last week on Big Sandy credit, also a GE Money card now. I was about to take his hearing aids to get them fixed and they lowered my CareCredit account. I don't think it’s fair this close to Christmas to hold other accounts against me as I struggle to pay all of them when I have always paid this one. Now my disabled son will either get gifts for Christmas or be able to hear... some choice. I believe they acted unfairly to better their bottom line. It dropped from 5000 to 1800 - that's a big drop, and now they make it look like I pushed my limit to max when I didn't.

UNDOUBTEDLY THE WORST CREDIT CARD EVER. I have PERFECT credit (I mean well into 800 FICO, had NEVER used a CC for anything, was in between jobs and decided to have elective surgery). We have recorded this company's "customer service" calls every 2 hours between the hours of 8AM and 11PM for the last 10 days. The first bill (which to this minute I have no idea what the amount is/was) was due on November 1. At EXACTLY 8AM on Nov. 1, the phone began to ring, first the house, then the office. Having just had surgery 18 days prior, I had not been to the office, but when I did go in, I called them back from the financial office phone extension. They then began calling that number as well. All three phones ringing in succession.

We recorded their abusive collections calls, used a Google voice number to document the incoming calls every two hours and finally my boss (a surgeon no doubt) called me in and said she would NEVER accept their card again after listening to the obnoxious number of calls and voicemails left on our office manager's line. I finally had to block their calls as I was unable to log in to the site to even know what the account number was to pay the bill. I called from another number (my friend's home - also a plastic surgeon) and they began calling her every two hours as well. She works 8pm-8am at a trauma center and has had to change their home number as her daughter hit redial the first time they called and that evidently is a signal to these idiots to keep calling.

I called asking for my own account number to end this madness and they told me to wait for it to arrive by mail in 7-10 days and I explained I would pay it in 3 equal payments as soon as it arrived. Today was day 4 and all the phones are once again ringing non-stop. I have attempted to log into the website to make an immediate payment and it continuously denies access and gives an error message to call in. I screen shot and time stamp the 50 (!!!) of these, we have tried to prove harassment in a court battle that is definitely coming.

I once had an Amazon card (also GE) that you had to have to use Roku and the EXACT same thing happened. We have made over 300 copies of documents and even got our friends to get cards to prove this is their business model to scam interest off people. The law will deal with them so: a) record every call, b) use an internet # that documents each incoming call on an email (like Google voice), c) take screen shots of your phone's incoming and outgoing call history showing your efforts to resolve or pay, d) send emails asking for same info, e) take screen shot of your computer monitor EVERY time the log in says it won't work (also SS your input info BEFORE you hit submit so you can prove you are providing accurate info at the start, f) record each and every call to or from them (you MUST say "I am recording this call" to them as soon as they pick up as their recording does).

I say CLASS ACTION SUIT. Never in my life did I dream that a quick elective surgery would create such horrific stress 30 seconds after a due date for a payment that no one even knew how or what to pay and after recording ourselves asking for the amount due and the account # 5x, the company continues to call. The law is on our side. What they are doing is illegal and if I didn't like my great credit so much, I'd file bankruptcy just to be able to force them to quit calling and to absolve myself from keeping this junk business afloat.

Read the fine print on the charge where you must make payments EVERY MONTH regardless if you've paid all but a few $$ of your balance well in advance of the promotional charge!! If you pay a payment too soon that ends up being posted early and don't ensure you have a payment posted EVERY MONTH during the period you will get a surprising service charge like I did for $25!!

Whether it's in the contract or not this type of treatment should never happen without an justifiable explanation or cause. This is NOT the kind of treatment we healthcare professionals deserve!

Yes, you are responsible for reading and understanding the Cardmember agreement. The due date is the same each month. Give yourself and your payment at least 4 working days prior to due date, for payment to process. If you move it is on you to still pay on the same day each month. Your bill will catch up to you. I was thankful to have this card for emergencies because you never know.

Told them to take it off. 1st payment came in at $22.00. Ok so by my math I owed them like $3808. My 2nd statement comes in and THEIR balance is $3852. I said where did the $52 dollars come from??????????? They told me, “Oh that’s the interest!!!!!!” $50 DOLLARS for INTEREST?????

I said to them I thought when you make a payment and the balance goes DOWN the interest should go DOWN too!!! But NOT with Care Credit, they UP the interest!!!!!! Care Credit should be investigated for RIPPING people off. I also reported them to the AG of Florida. **, Care Credit SUCKS, STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was making payments online and noticed my balance was back to what the original loan was and my minimum payment due was way more!! I had paid almost half of what I owed on the loan, now I'm back to where I started!!! They are ripping people off!! Someone really need to look into this, it’s not right for them to charge a person another LOAN!!! It’s like you're paying that loan off twice! They are also killing people with their high interest rate, and late fees (which they were not very clear on that either when you take the loan).

I missed the promotional pay off by a few days. Called and after waiting 25 minutes listening to loud music, I finally was able to speak to a nice operator named Carmen. She said that if I paid the original balance, they would wave the interest charges (almost 700 dollars). I specifically asked her how much time I had and she said well as soon as possible. I called the next day and spoke to someone else since it is impossible to speak to the same person. She had a completely different attitude, however took my debit card information and said, "Oh I am so sorry you have been declined." She told me that I needed to call my bank and get it straightened out because this has never happened before and she had no way of knowing that I had the funds in the bank. I told her I was looking at my bank account as we were speaking and that she had swiped my card three times and she told me that was impossible!

She said, "We have bent over backwards for you so you need to get this straight." I said, "By bending over backwards, do you mean a 30% interest rate and swiping my card three times?" I said, "YOU need to make a note on my account that I am calling my bank to let them know that my card has been swiped three times and you need to give me a specific date for payoff without any hidden fees plus a confirmation number." This is an awful company. You can never speak to the same person. I haven't found a way to email them to document a paper trail. This whole process has taken two days and it's still not over. And it's not a matter of not paying the bill... I am trying to... They are impossible to communicate with on a consistent basis and it's your word against theirs. They say they will make a note of what was discussed on your account but you have no way of knowing that. Can't wait to be done with them ---- Never again.

So, I called today to ask a couple of questions. I never had to call before and I am so glad I called AND I read the reviews online. First, I wondered why my account was NOT going down. If your one day late, they charge you a $35.00 fee and from a review I read, if you don't pay 5 days in advance before your due date online, then your account won't be posted timely and they charge you. I am sooo tired of getting ripped off all the time. I mean really tired of it. And I called to tell her I got laid off and asked if they could waive the fees for a few months while I look for a new job and she told me they don't work with people on this.

So if you lose your job, you’re still stuck with the payment or this will go on your credit report. I can dispute this on my credit report and stated I called and told them I lost my job and they weren't willing to work with me so...but still. I am now very unsatisfied and when I get back on my feet, I am paying them off. Completely.

I have had problems with Billing from day 1 with this company to the point of considering them the most ridiculous fraudulent company I have ever dealt with. I've been dealing with this for years now and am trying to clear my credit of this once again. They consistently were saying I'm late on payments that were paid on time. One representative finally told me it takes up to 5 days for payments to post if paid on their own website. I had 3 accounts for $500 each: one in my name, one in my wife's, and one in both of our names. I paid these down to less than $200 total using their electronic billing which provided no balance so I am having a hard time proving the fraudulent billing practices. I now have over $3500 owed posted on both of our credit reports. MIDLAND CREDIT MGMT INC is the collection agency holding this account now asking 3x what I originally borrowed.

I'm not alone with these complaints either. Check Complaintsboard.com, BBB, Consumer Affairs and every other rip off report type website and you will see that Care Credit and GE Money Bank have countless complaints of the same fraudulent billing practices. This company is criminal and I am formally reporting them as criminals just like thousands of other people. I've disputed this with the credit bureaus to no avail. These people are ruining my life and many others. Please open a formal investigation of fraud into this company. They are defrauding and stealing from people for medical bills!! Why haven't any federal agencies shut this company down! Someone needs to investigate into this. Please help. Thanks.

RUDE PEOPLE!!! I don't think GE CareCredit has anyone from the U.S. working for them. Why do they charge $15.00 to pay over the phone? Plus, if you overpay, they just keep your money and raise your credit limit. You don't get any money back; you just get the ability to borrow more later. I don't understand how I have to pay back... if I paid more in advance. They rip people off.

Recently, my husband had fraudulent overseas charges placed on his credit card, and for this reason and others, I do not feel comfortable giving out information to companies doing business overseas. Additionally, talking to an overseas representative is almost as frustrating as an automated computer response. I do I like to give out my social security number. Period.

First, I contacted the number that continued to call without leaving a voice message. When I heard the operator and reference, it made sense. The prompts come on the call will be monitored or recorded and the rep's voice appears. After 7 times of "I am here" and having full signal on my mobile, the female responded. I cannot tell you how many times I repeated myself and gave the same information, which she asked out of order numerous times. Finally, she got it all down and my payment was made. Next, I would like to ask a question she may answer or direct me elsewhere to someone who may. I am not redirected, yet given a number to dial. I dialed the number and it said, "Congratulations! You won a 2-night cruise to the Bahamas. Please press a number to speak with a representative or stay on the line for further assistance." I stayed on the line and was hung up on.

I called the first number again and explained my situation. She attempted to connect me, yet no chance and gave me another number to dial. I called. The third rep I spoke with is unaware that I will take a survey of her customer service skills. She did not listen when I replied that I know my username and password which is not the problem. My problem consisted of the website always rejecting the last four digits of my account whenever prompted to enter. The third rep repeated herself and I repeated the same response that I know that information. I just wanted to have my four digits to be recognized when I needed to use them. She continued on not listening or attempting to understand, and certainly did not find someone else who could. Plus, I asked about the number I was given which spoke about a cruise. She verified it is part of GE Capital, yet has no idea about the cruise info. I stated it felt like a joke and I did not care about a cruise. All I wanted was to get help making sure my information registers online.

Of course, she did not listen and believe what I am saying even though I repeated the number and tried again with the thing. After she is unable to answer the question or direct me to someone who may better understand my inquiry, she hung up on me. No survey left for me to complete. I work with customer service and understand there is a reason behind someone who sounds distraught. As a customer service personnel, you try and understand the client and help out, not read words off a script that sound soulless or blank. Have some patience and above all, do not hang up on people! GE CareCredit customer service today has been a great disappoint minus the second representative.

On the 25th of the month, my dentist charged a dental procedure that brought it up to my credit limit. I have set it up on an automatic payment, so I didn't think much about it. However, on the 25th, they also charged me some interest from a previous balance which I thought I had paid off entirely. No big deal either. However, that interest charge which was less than $60 showed up as a derogatory item on my credit report on that same day. Even though I brought the balance down by $400 the moment I learned about it, the customer service rep and customer service manager had no sympathy at all even though I have been paying them for more than 3 years at 26%, which I had completely forgotten about how high their interest really is!

I only asked why nobody notified me for this instance, especially when they have all of my phone numbers and emails on file supposedly to notify me when something is wrong! On the other hand, I always keep receiving marketing materials from them. I will pay them off as soon as possible and never use them again because they treat you like a nobody! That wasn't customer service and even though they charge you an insane interest rate, their customer service department is by far the worst I have encountered in my life. My advice to all of you is that you should not use them unless it is an absolute necessity. Make sure you pay them off within the promotional period, not a day later! They use us so make sure you use them too!

This credit card is just like any other. If you misuse it, then that’s your fault. I have had Care Credit for 8 years and never had a problem. I use it to pay Dental Co-pays and for Veterinary Services. I always pay through my bank's on-line bill pay with no problems. People need to start taking responsibility for their actions. I even had an issue with being overcharged by my Chiropractor. Needless to say, the Chiropractor Billing Department was horrible and I dropped off a stack of insurance statement and bill receipts showing they overcharged me $50.00 and they never got back to me. 2 months later I filed a dispute with CC and mailed them the same paperwork. Within a week I received a refund. They had to mail a check because I had just paid the card off. It came in no time. I see a lot of negative review and I have personally never had a bad experience. But then again the complaints seem to stem from credit card misuse.

They cashed the check one day after the processing period and charged me an $81 finance charge and a $35 late charge, and because I moved and asked a friend to forward my mail (which he just did after 4 months, lol). I now see that I owe $122.50, which is ** to begin with. So I called, got hung up on, called back, and I was told that they were having trouble with their phones, and then I gave them credit card info to pay the bill and they told me they would charge my card $123 because their system will not allow them to take a payment ending in $.50 and then after all that, they told me they don't take Visa, only Master Card. Six months into a 24-month promotional rate, they suddenly have no record of the promotion and started charging 24.99% interest. Like others, the provider could not sway their minds of the promotion. Short end of story, I was taken to collections (pay up over $9,000 on a $3,000 bill) as they would not cancel account or renegotiate payments. Credit report shows GE Care Credit charge-off, plus collection company, and subsequently lawsuit. What's worse is that even though our family is now paying off the debt, the charge-off continues to be freshly reported each and every month. That is called credit report poisoning.

I am actually very angry at this point with CareCredit. I cannot accept their apologies anymore at this point because it's gotten ridiculous! I had a procedure done on November 4, 2012. In August 2012, I had called to request a due date change from the 16th of every month to the 28th because that's when I would be able to make my payments. In November, I charged my card and thought to myself, "Okay, so I changed the due date to the 28th so I'll be able to make my payment on time!" No, that was not the case! It took CareCredit 6 freaking months to have a simple due date changed! It took several calls and complaints until they finally changed the due date, which didn't take effect until this month of February 2013.

On top of all this, they told me if I pay my payment on the 28th before the change takes effect, then I will be charged a late fee. But to not worry, that it will be adjusted right away after it's been charged. Well guess what? That was not done either. I called them just now to address this issue and they, once again for the 100th time, apologized and told me that they will credit back the late fee, but it won't process and show on my account until April. Do not open a CareCredit account! I don't even want to pay off my account at this point and don't feel like giving them my hard earned money!
