Customer service is always great when on the phone, and will find an acceptable solution to just about any problem. The main problem I have is when doing a loan, the website has a spot for promo code, but they never have any promos. It would be nice to get them, especially after being a loyal customer for so long.

I go to the Speedy Cash office at Raymond & Commonwealth in Fullerton. It's always a pleasure. You're greeted upon arrival, the staff is knowledgeable, very courteous, thorough. They explain everything step by step, they are happy/smiling and you can tell they are all customer oriented. The employees in that office make borrowing funds a very pleasant experience.

Sometime around February of 2014, I got an invoice letter from Speedy Cash notifying me that I owed money on a loan taken out at the end of the prior year (2013). I immediately called their customer service line and was forwarded to a fraud department; I explained that not only had I not taken out any loans from them, but I had been unemployed and no longer living in the city where and when the loan was issued. They gave me a fraud department phone number, and told me to have the police make a report and submit it to them.
I went to my local sheriff's department and a detective made -several- phone calls over the course of two weeks to Speedy Cash. The phone was curiously never answered, despite it being during business hours. The detective also left voicemails, which were never returned. Unfortunately, because they could not actually speak to anyone at Speedy Cash, they told me they could not file an ID theft report.
Speedy Cash ceased all communication to me after the report of fraud, so I assumed the matter closed. Lo and behold, I check my credit reports in December 2014, and there's a collection account open for them under the name of Ad Astra Recovery Services. I have never once gotten a phone call or letter, yet the information reported by Ad Astra seems to claim that contact had been made in August, November, and December (and even payments made, based on a weird balance reported in one of the three reports).
I am sending certified letters demanding the removal of this information from my reports to Ad Astra, as well as all three credit bureaus. I plan to pursue any legal action available to me if the letters do not resolve this problem, as I have never seen or experienced such fraud.

I won't say I'm happy with them as I have a few peeves with them. Some of their staff is a bit impatient down here in Chattanooga while others are very patient and it just creates a confusion thing. Forget something that's in your car or need to speak to someone next to you. Sometimes they will wait until you come back or finish the question; other times just by not being prepared they can send you to the back to wait all over again. My other thing is they're all too happy to take things. Yeah I know they must make sure people not scamming them but would it kill them to wait a week after due date? Like they draw out the moment it comes which I find a bit annoying and for that reason I'm gonna be done with them as soon as possible.
They're a decent place but somewhat very impatient and if you don't have alerts and things, they'd let you believe that a hacker took your money out. When they take, there is no warning or anything. They don't call or email to ask if I'm coming today or be late. They just take. Not even an email to let you know they taken anything, that's something you have to find out when you get up there to pay or in some cases tell them you don't have the money only to find out they took it and if you're done with them and don't have a car, you just wasted time, etc. It's not that big of a deal but those are my peeves about the place.
I understand why they do what they do. Not a bad place, if you're thinking of going up there for the first time, just take what you need, don't get greedy and take the big number or you'll probably bite off more than you can chew. You want to rid of them as soon as possible once you start though because after a while you're actually losing money. It just gets hard to notice. After that they become a bill more than paying back. You will only regret it if you get careless when borrowing or try to scam them. (I've seen a few people do both.) I wrote this review with 70 bucks left to pay back. I started out in 200 bucks but lowered it as I pay them back. After 70 I go down to 50 and after 50 it should be low enough for me to pay back without worry of missing out on important things.

My initial contact with Speedy Cash took me to a small town outside of Los Angeles, where I was asked to fill out significant paperwork. When I finished the paperwork, I was told that I did not qualify. I was also told I could apply again at another time. Two years went by before I went online and applied again. The most recent time I found the staff to be very helpful and the customer service has continued to be 5 star. The staff is always polite, professional and very sensitive to my needs and questions. I really need to borrow $1000 and pay it back two months on December 9 and January 9. I am in a financial crunch with medical bills. I am retired from the State of TN and also draw social security. My total net income is $4587.17 and could easily pay it back in two months with interest. Do you ever let good paying, faithful customers borrow more than the regular amount? How about $1000 and I have my bank account on file and my debit card on my file also? It would make me a happy woman to see $1000 in my checking account early early early Monday morning. I took out a loan over a year ago. I paid on this loan at the store location for well over 4 months. I ultimately had to stop paying on the loan. Even though I was paying $100 every pay date when payment was only $78, the loan was still way more than what I originally borrowed. I had to stop paying when I became disabled and can no longer work. My disability check just started and I opened a new bank account for this because I had to close the old one due to the debits made by speedy cash. Well lo and behold all this time later when I have not heard a peep out of speedy cash for all these months and have never given them my new account information, this month my disability check of only $780 is completely gone before it even gets there because speedy cash took out $534.16. And now I will have overdraft fees and more late fees for all my bills I can not pay now. So how did speedy cash get my account info? How can you legally take out this money without my permission to do so? I will be contacting the bank and a lawyer as well! DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY REASON.... GO BROKE BUT NEVER USE SPEEDY CASH!!!

I think this service is great and very helpful, just wish the interest rates were a tad bit more fair. Needless to say, better or cheaper in return payment. We take out loans usually due to certain hardships and must sacrifice a payment in return for the help. That's completely understood and appreciated, just wish we could get a better break for such a short term loan. The high interest rate only put us more at risk and makes our financial situations a bit more difficult. I personally have been very disciplined and with a close watch full eye careful in making sure I can afford to take out these loans, but I do fear it catching up at some point, even while trying to remain disciplined and as careful as one can be. At the end of the day, thank you for your support...

I had a loan with the criminals. I had a payday loan and the payments were spread out over 39 payments. I made all those payments. They notified me of my last payment coming due which was taken out on 10/10/14. Then on the next day they took out $244.29 without any notice and said it was for $237 on principal and $8 for interest. I guess with Speedy they can take out whatever they want whenever they want without notifying the customer. If you have a loan with these thieves be prepared for them to take money out money they are not owed.

My experience with Speedy Cash has been awesome from the very first time I went to Google and searched for "short term loans". I clicked on their web page over a year ago and have used them every month since. Their application process is fast, quick and easy. Approved in minutes and most of the time the funds are there next day. Phone support is friendly and able to help with any issue. I wish I could give less than one star. I just had the most ridiculous experience with this these liars. I contacted them and agreed to a settlement on my title loan, which had to be paid in two days or the offer would expire. I called and paid them and, at the time, I was told that the lien on the car would be released and the title would be mailed to me. After a week I called back, only to find out that because it was a Kansas title, the lien release had to be faxed to the DMV, who would process it and send me the clean title. I asked that a copy of the letter of lien release be mailed to me as well. They assured me it would be and that it had already been faxed to the DMV as well.
After two weeks, I called the DMV and they told me they had not received it, but they were running behind. Two weeks later, I called again and they informed me they had never received the letter of lien release. Meanwhile, the vehicle had been sitting in the parking lot of my old apartment complex, not running, and could not be sold due to not having a clean title.
At this point I decided to take matters into my own hands and called Speedy Cash. On Monday of last week, I requested that the letter of lien release be faxed to me. The agent said that she would fax it right then. After a half an hour, I had not received it and called back. The agent verified my fax number and said it had gone through, but she would try again. Another half hour passed and I still had not received it. I called back and the agent told me both faxes had gone through but, "Let's try email!". After two more failed attempts at email, I gave up and decided to show up in person.
That following Wednesday, I left work and drove half an hour to the location. I requested the letter and was told, "There isn't a notary here right now. They're all in a meeting and won't be out until 6pm." I asked if she could get it notarized that evening so that I could pick it up in the morning. She assured me she would. I called in the morning and was told, "I'm sorry - the manager who is the notary doesn't get here until Noon." I then received a call at 1:15pm telling me the letter was ready and it would be at the front desk. I AGAIN left work and drove to the location. I requested the letter and the clerk looked at me like I had lost my mind and then proceeded to wander around aimlessly searching for the letter and asking the manager, who ignored her. Finally she found it and I collected it and left.
On Friday, I emailed the letter to the DMV and received a response on Monday of the following week - "We cannot accept this letter because it is not signed by the lien holder." At this point, as you can imagine, I was furious. I immediately drafted a letter stating my situation and requesting that they either amend the letter they had sent or draft a new one immediately or I would take further action.
What do you know?! Suddenly they figured out how to use their fax machine and I received the letter in 10 minutes. I emailed it to the DMV and received my title the next day. *Here are the times they lied to me: Telling me the title would be mailed to me immediately. Telling me they had faxed the lien release to the DMV, who never received it. Telling me FOUR TIMES that they had faxed or emailed the letter to me. (Presumably) telling me they couldn't give me the letter in person because there wasn't a notary available (which seems odd, since they supposedly faxed and emailed it to me). Telling me it would be available for pickup in the morning on Thursday. Giving me a letter that was not signed!!!!!!!!! For heaven's sake, you run a TITLE LOAN business! Figure out how to release a lien!!!! My main purpose in writing this is to warn off anyone who may get a loan with these people. They operate under illegal practices and they are liars.

I only have one complaint. I was told I could get instant funding by getting the opt card and that is no true. I got it and still have to wait three days to get loan funded.

Under my state law in Oklahoma payday loan companies are required to allow installment payments after 3 consecutive loans. I notified Speedy Cash by phone and mail that I wanted installments and provided the law to them, but they told me I have to wait to default to make payments. But that tacks on a charge, so instead I refuse to pay them at all and will contest anything they put on my credit report or fight them in court since they don't follow the law.

Speedy Cash is convenient when you need them, but when you can't pay them due to income change, they tell you it's nothing they can do about that either pay or they will overcharge your account with lots of fees. I think this is wrong no matter how many arrangements you have. You think they would do what's best for the customer instead of what's right for company...

I have been a member to Speedy Cash for only a couple months and they have been really good about the loans when I needed them but recently I've tried to take a loan out when I really do need the money and I've had to do it multiple times because they keep canceling my loans and there is no reason because I always pay on time so I'm not sure why. I have called 3 times and have gotten hung up on all 3 times!

I experienced serious financial situation July 2013, went to speedy loan Round Rock, TX. Was not fully informed about the payback plan. I received $1440.00 with $270.00 payback each month. I figured it was like any loan after 6 months it would be paid off. But no I found out those payments hadn't touched the payback amount but were payment for the privilege of them loaning me the money. I have had to renew twice to the tune of $337.00 just to renew and am going to have to renew again in October because I just can't afford to pay more than the $270.00 each month or pay it in full. I Calculate I have paid back at this time 3 times what I borrowed. When I spoke to the manager the first 6 months and told her if it had been explained to me like that at the time, that I would NEVER have taken a loan like that she said, "Oh well those people hadn't been trained right and none of them worked there anymore." Please someone provide me with an answer to stop this madness.

I have never been to a Speedy Cash office or never had to get any payday loan. I am trying to purchase a car and when my credit was pulled I noticed that there was a balance of $1252 loan that I never took out. This has caused a huge factor in the interest rate of this car loan. I have tried to contact Speedy Cash corporate office and have left messages and I have had no luck. I know if I could talk to someone there that we could figure this to be an internet fraud case. I did talk to a local Speedy Cash and they did tell me the loan was done over the internet.

I got a payday loan for 250 dollars. I just needed it until my next payday. I paid it off two days early using the website. During the processing time after you hit submit, the website stopped responding. They took 294.12 out of my bank account but on the website it showed it as unpaid. I called and spoke to customer service and the person I was talking to extended my due date and said it would be investigated. Those days past and they automatically charged my account again for 294.12. I called again. They deny any payment before they charged me. They said I would have to handle it through my bank, which I did.
My bank reversed the first payment and closed my claim case. The next day Speedy cash automatically took out another 294.12 saying that they received a reverse transaction. I told them that was my claim from the bank. They asked me to fax over my bank statements, which I did. They admitted to seeing what I was claiming but then refused to help me. They even went as far to say if I make a claim again they will charge me again. So here I am out of 294.12 dollars and with no one from speedy cash willing to help me. I will not use again and I will not allow any friends or family to use speedy cash. There are better companies that won't rip you off.

These idiots made a fraudulent loan to someone using my name and social security number. No credit bureau inquiry was made. They obviously didn't bother verifying any information provided by the cyber criminal. ProtectMyID reported derogatory information from a collection agency - Ad Astra Recovery -- Weird, they're in the same city as Sleazy Cash. Now I have to prove to the collection agency that I didn't get this loan because of Sleazy Cash's irresponsible lending practices.

Getting the loan was easy. Paying it off is hard. I got a loan for 750.00 and I have been making over 200.00 payments for several months now. I checked my payoff balance and it is 834.05. I called SC and they told me that I was making the min. Payment so only $12 was going to my balance and I paid $1450.83 in interest. They are charging me and they will you too an APR of 347.75%. Do not mess with this company. They are thieves!

My wife applied for the express installment loan the Speedy Cash location in Stanton CA today. Keep in mind that myself, my wife and my mother-in-law have been Speedy Cash customers for quite some time in good standing. She was denied the loan for the following reason: "Unable to verify previous credit relationships" and no one could tell us what that means. It sounds as if it is an internal application process issue rather than anything to do with her credit history. All information is accurate and we can pull a copy of her reports without any problems and easily see her credit history. So what is so difficult in verifying that?? We had hoped to get this loan for our trip out of town this weekend but it appears we now must find other sources.

I had a horrid experience with this company. I had a joint checking account with a long time friend and this company took money from my account the day after I was told that the account in question had been charged off due to the death of my friend. I faxed all documents that were needed and was told that EVERYTHING had been taken care of and that NO MONEY WOULD BE REMOVED FROM MY ACCOUNT.
The next morning this crooked company did not uphold their word or standards and they removed $500 from my account!! Now I was told that I would be receiving my money back within 24 hours to my account. When I informed the representative that the checking account had been closed and I had a different routing number and account number, she then informed me that unless it was the original account number, they didn't have to put the money back.
In just two short seconds, I was no concern to them anymore. They downright refused to reimburse me anything because of the new account number, and that is something that was done at the bank when they were notified of his passing and I closed the joint account to open my own (since he was DEAD). I find it sad that these people and this company have no respect for the dead, and it helps me know that they surely can't care about the living customers if they will steal from the ones that are dead and their families.

My father got a title loan with this company for $2500. He has been paying the loan back for year and the half $217 a month. Yesterday we went to their office to paid off the loan in full thinking his balance was going to be less than $500. For his surprise they told him he owe them $2346!!! This is a crazy rip off! They told him if he continues paying this loan he be finish paying it on $2016 because now his loan finally is paying itself before it as only interest and no out of the $217, $30 goes to the loan!!! This is bad, my father was in need at the time and they don't really explain all of this. This is horrible, my father need a lawyer.

I paid my loan on off a day early, 7/2 via my debit card and on 7/3 another charge was deducted from my account which was the scheduled payment. There was a hold on my account for the 1st charge which cause me 2 overdraws totaling $62. When I presented this to customer service with a copy of my statement, I got a response from a Brenda on 7/8 asking me for a clearer statement. When I called customer service I was told that only one charge was made on their end but I had proof that these charges exited. Finally, my bank reversed the charges of $62 which I am grateful for. Perhaps many of your customers file false claims but my claim had proof and I kept getting the run a round and this could have been avoid. I will have to rethink about my continued use and referring future customers because overdraws are a BIG thing and can be expensive...

I had a horrible experience with your company. An employee had me apply for a loan and when I left the building, a lady snatched my money out of my hand and hit me in the head. I made a police report and spoke to the manager about her employee (**) who was recruiting people and taking half their money in the back of your building. I don't feel it's fair for me to pay your company after an accomplice in the store had someone hit me and take my money or, let me guess, I still have to pay. I spoke to many managers on Westpark/Gessner. Nothing was ever done - very unprofessional.

I had a loan with Speedy Cash, which came due on July 7, 2014. Unfortunately, the payment didn’t go through to Speedy Cash, because a person, who was supposed to pay me, got the payment late to the bank and it wasn’t processed on time. I contacted Speedy Cash on July 11, when I found out, to let them know and to see if I could make a partial payment and get an extension to pay the rest owing. The person who I spoke with told me that she could take a payment of $100 from my ATM card immediately, which would hold the extension until July 18 – when $215 would automatically be deducted from my bank account. The amount I borrowed was $255; the amount I owed was $315 – $15 was a penalty fee for being late.
On Saturday, July 12, I checked my bank account and discovered that a payment for $315 had been deducted from my checking account on Thursday, July 10 (without my verbal authorization) AND $100 had been deducted from my ATM on Friday. Now, why would this happen? Surely I wouldn’t have authorized both transactions, because doing so, would put me into a negative financial position; if I didn’t have the money to pay the $315, surely I wouldn’t have the money to pay $415. Clearly, Speedy Cash made a mistake, either in cashing a check that wasn’t authorized or taking out the $100, when a payment had already been deducted.
Interestingly, I just received a letter from SC, which let me know about the payment being returned and instructed me to contact them. Why would SC send me a letter instructing me to contact them and cash a check at the same time? Because one hand didn’t (doesn’t) know what the other hand was/is doing. It gets worse. So, I call SC on Monday, July 14 to let them know that because they submitted 2 payments totalling $415, instead of $100, I was overdrawn on my bank account and the possibility existed that they wouldn’t be paid. I told them that I would call my bank and let them know what my bank said. I talked to my bank, which indicated that both payments had went through (SC had been paid $415, instead of just the $315) and thereafter, I contacted SC and told them that and that their actions had caused me to go into overdraft and that I had incurred 3 overdraft charges, because they took out the $315, when they were only supposed to take out $100.
I gave my ATM card number to them on Wednesday, July 16 in the morning, so that the $100 would be deposited onto it right away. To this day, that has not happened, which is confusing, because the money came out immediately, when they took out the $100. Also, during this time (Tues-Thurs), I kept asking SC about the overdraft charges – that they needed to pay them, as they caused them and over and over I was told that a supervisor would listen to the voicemail and make the decision (the first person who told me this was Manual).
I’ve called SC twice a day this week and still, no one has listened to the call and made a decision about the service charges. I think they are b-ssing me and think I will go away. Again, they NEVER had authorization to cash the second check, NEVER had authorization to take out both the $315 and the $100, and caused overdraft charges to me by doing so. What is worse is that they are giving me the run-around and ignoring me. The initial conversation about the extension and the $100 doesn’t even need to be listened to; the bank document speaks for itself – obviously, SC screwed up and it doesn’t want to take responsibility for the screw-up. The evidence is …self-evident.
They have put me into a worse position than I ever was. This situation could have and should have been fixed easily (a professional organization and an ethical organization would have done so immediately) and it hasn’t been and in fact, has been ignored. Again, on this date, no money had been deposited into my account to repay me for the money that they illegally took out. Even if there was a clause that said that they could redeposit the check, why take out the $100? They are completely inept and thieves, to boot. They want their money immediately and don’t have a problem penalizing me, but do not maintain the same standards.

I have had a generally positive experience overall, at least up until recently. When I first applied, customer service team members were very eager to help and spent whatever time was needed to assist me with tech issues, as an example. My loan money has shown up on time every time except once when everyone's got sent out a day late. Recently however, I applied for a longer-term installment loan and was denied. I called customer service and was told I was ineligible because I had a payday loan out already (however, it says on your website that it's ok to have both concurrently). Anyhow, I didn't argue this. I just confirmed with him, to be absolutely sure, "ok, so, I'll for sure be eligible for the California something-or-other-installment-loan as soon as I pay back my current loan, right"?, "yes of course," he affirmed.
Well lo and behold, I paid off the loan and re-applied for the installment loan, and was denied again. This has been very frustrating and stressful. I really need to borrow the larger amount so I can consolidate all of my bills, loans, etc. I'm not a brand new customer and I'm not in default ever, so being denied without any explanation really makes me feel unimportant, devalued, dismissed, misled, and distrusted by speedy cash.
I know you will send that standard "30-day letter" with my "explanation", but 1) who can wait 30 days when they need to borrow cash now? 2)They're always the same letter with a bullet point list of all the possible reasons for my denial. So which is it?! number 1, 2. or 54? is it all of them? This letter does nothing useful except further grind the insult into an already festering wound. It certainly doesn't help me know what to fix. And 3) why are we back to such a stuffy business relationship all of a sudden? Just a few mins ago when I spoke to you on the phone, I seemed to have your undivided attention. We laughed, told jokes, you called me sweetie.
Now I'm "Kathryn pronounced wrong" and you can't share any info with me about my denial for the installment loan and I must wait for this infamous letter. And "sorry Kathryn-pronounced-wrong, that we couldn't help you after making absolutely no effort". Who cares that you will likely be homeless by next week, living in a car that's about to be repoed. "But kathryn-pronounced-wrong, we value your patronage. Call again soon".

I have been a customer since December 2013. I have had an account with you since then and I have had to every time I have dealt with your company fight with your website to request a loan. Not once was I able to without contacting customer service by phone and repeat the entire application with them before having to try at the least half a dozen times to get a new password assigned or to get your system to accept the temporary password assigned by the customer service rep. Then it has been a struggle every time to do the electronic signatures because the system once again refuses to recognize me as customer.
The current transaction I began on the internet, had to call then had to go to the store to complete the transaction, a ten mile trek to it and ten miles back. Upon arriving at the store they had the documents for me to sign, since the internet would not work at all for me, they had me sign and then they faxed the documents back to the main office. The main office then took ten minutes to decide they had received the documents, but they wouldn't accept that the three signatures provided were the correct number of signatures. Your store personnel would not talk the main office. They simply kept saying there were only three signatures required. So I had to act as the go between in their internal argument over who was right. Finally the home office put me on hold again and did something on their end. They then came back online a couple minutes later and without explanation gave me the confirmation number.
Your people were all very polite to me, but they should never have put me in between them and their internal argument. This verifying signatures needs to be an in house procedure that the customer doesn't get involved with. Upon signing the documents it should automatically be approved with a confirmation number which the customer doesn't need to forced to call the home office to get. It should be an automatic function on the computer. Making it less hassle to business with you. The fact that my account is still screwed up and won't work after six months is an absolute customer service tragedy. Few people have my patience so I suspect you're losing business over the internet problems and I suspect you are losing return customers over the fact they have to make phone calls from store to the main office to get their loans approved.

I am pleased with Speedy Cash and your loan service. I am retired with Social Security monies, and for additional income I am a freelance writer. In working with my freelance customers, I find their payments may be erratic, whereas a payday loan becomes beneficial. However, I do find the $200.00 maximum loan to be low. A figure of upwards to $500.00 would be a better fit.
