Social Security Administration (Aliso Viejo Orange County) - Always lose check stubs and/or if you tick off a claims representatives especially (Olivia or Ms.**) they will have your caseworker harass you and tell you that your spouse/case is missing check stubs from three years back. I had all my check stubs stamped by SSI receptionist! But SSI will bully you and tell you it doesn’t matter. SSA employees does this to us every year, I 100% evidence. SSA caseworkers/ representatives always ask us to bring check stubs counting from three years back - in hopes that we’ve lost the documents and or wouldn’t provide them again after we submitted in the past.

I have made several formal complaints to Ms. **, Ms. **, Ms. and Ms. **, Ms. **, Ms. **, the head offices, but not limited to... We filed several complaints with Hon. Barbara Boxer’ Office Of U.S. Senator 70 Washington Street, Sui-203 Oakland, California 94607 Ph: (510) 286-8537 Fax: (202) 228-3864 or Fax (202) 224-0454.

Social Security Administration employees can make one very upset/ill every time one goes there in hopes that you give up or maybe die from stress. Social Security Administration employees, they treat people/clients like slaves, animals, yelling at them, and the security guard really knows employees escalated the hostile situations, and he has no clue as to what’s going on whatsoever. The security guards' job is supposed to keep the peace and observe and report.

(In Take Case-Rep. Olivia) Interrogated me as if was stealing money from her. Asking me the questions to see if I would change my answers and was sarcastic, and I reminded her that the call was recorded and told her how I felt. Olivia retaliated.

The next day my son's caseworker called but left a message requesting check stubs for my 13 year old granddaughter? I knew that Ms. ** harassing me for “Olivia” because she went back three years without cause or notifications or reason. This has caused me and my family more hardships and placed us under duress, but not limited to. Please take notice that “certain” Social Security Administration employees employers are mean, very aggressive, retaliatory, demeaning, bullies, insulting, liars, prejudice against people of other races, harassing, non-diplomatic, negative, nonfriendly, negligent per se, but not limited to.

I am 100% afraid for my safety and others' because of Social Security employers/employees lack proper professional training and or Social Security Administration employees' carelessness, nonchalant attitudes towards clients that are mentally ill, disabled, is very disgusting and place our lives in everyday dangerous situations. Doctors getting kickbacks for savings money for denying benefits to qualified severely disabled individuals, and the mentally ill, and individuals with rare illnesses. Patients dying because Social Security doctors, and judges denying them and or removing SSA/SSI with no remorse.

No doubt Social Security Administration employees employers plays a big part in homelessness, stressed, knowing that disabled, clients needs their SSA/SSI benefits, Medicare, have needs, medical bills, bills, and these Social Security Administration employees act as if it's a BANK or their money. Just like others I have developed all types of medical conditions because of Social Security Administration employees-employers because of their bias personal harassment for years.

To: Hon. Barbara Boxer Office - I’ll be asking for at least - $100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, because of Social Security Administration employees continue to tick off clients, mentally ill, or disabled persons and they come to their offices may their aggression out on us, and my heart may not be able to handle the stressful situations. I am terrified of obvious and or possibly mentally ill (suspect, identified as ** Xiong, 52, of Sacramento who was apparently upset over being denied a Social Security claim, said Sacramento police Lt. David **). I have experienced first hand that SSI employees are liars just like Trump and laugh in clients' faces and behind theirs backs about it, once they have security throw them out. The SSA employees thinks it's a joke...

I’ve gave my family members and friends copies of this complaint... This complaint is no way any type of threat, it is to educate the public. This is to inform the public and let everyone know that we’re being bullied by the Social Security Administration and certain employees, our senators, and congresspeople, but not limited to. The government is ignoring any and all our complaints and telephones calls dealing with the Social Security Administration employees et al. Beware - Money that we paid into the system is being given to foreigners whom didn’t pay a penny, but we’re being denied and being racially harassed by foreigners who work at the Social Security Offices (go figure).

I was allowed to received my disability after three years of homelessness, became disabled from taking chemo. The social security office refused to assist me during this time causing me to be unable to heal from this barbaric medical requirement. They refuse to give me my back pay. I have appealed and I have been refused that appeal. I have also asked for an accounting of the money that I had paid into the system for 40 years. Yet they have told me that I must account for how I would like to spend the money. I have explained repeatedly that I need a home, and they refuse.

I just spoke to a woman who is on the Fact Team, she told me that some people who were drug addicts used the money to get high and then they died. She then stated that "I just got tired of it so I helped this to stop". I told her that, taking away the rights of others is not the place of our government. I then asked her what her credit score was and she said "I have no idea, I don't understand credit". I explained to her I do understand credit. I explained to her that I have gone to the bank, and made arrangements to build my credit. I explained how that process worked. SS says I must pay for people to give me estimates to fix the RV that I live in. This process is a couple of hundred dollars, why would I do that, when I do not want to stay in my RV. I WANT A HOME and I have a right to that home.

I believe that I am being discriminated against and so are other people who are told by our government that because we are disabled we have NO CIVIL RIGHT OR CIVIL LIBERTIES. When SSA can fully account for what they are doing with our money then they have the right to question those that are disabled. SSA refuses to demonstrate to me and others how they use my and your money. (I cannot save money as long as I receive SSI. They watch my bank account.) I have to save money. I think we need to obtain a civil rights attorney and do a class action suit. THEY ARE DISCRIMINATING AGAINST THOSE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE ADULTS AGAIN.

All I want to do is change my mom's address, because she had moved. Only English and Spanish are available when you call, so I asked to get a translator to authorize me as a representative for my mom. Got hung up immediately which ticked me off because I was on hold for 1 hour. I called them back, but this time opted to have to have a callback which was going to take 1.5 hour. I had over an hour to cool down and this 2nd agent put me on hold for 1 minute and then all of a sudden, I was taken to the survey portion of the call. I, of course, gave a very bad rating, but I very much doubt anyone will do anything about it. My mom still receives her benefits, so I guess when they need something from her, they can call.

I called in January 2018 to make appointment to file for widow benefits. My birthday was in March and I called well in advance but was told no appointment was available till March 5th. I was not happy hearing this as I had done what was expected to file on time. So received the call on March 5th to start the process. I asked the case worker when I would receive my direct deposit and she stated April 18th - I said, "Are you sure," she said yes.

So I was working at the time and stopped working having been told when I would receive my benefit. Well guess what - now I am not working and my damn application is still being processed - this case worker out and out lied to me - now I have no income and all my bills are piling up - why in the hell did she say, "Oh yes you’ll start receiving April 18th,"- what the heck am I to do??? I went to local SS office and explained my dilemma and was told the application is sitting on someone’s desk. What the hell. You would think I was taking money that I wasn’t eligible for. I am absolutely disgusted.

I called SSA on behalf of my daughter in law who is deaf because she wanted to stop receiving SSI. After waiting for almost an hour, a man named something like Frogiz answered. When I told him I was calling for my deaf daughter in law he said she would have to call on the TTY line. And tried to hang up on me, I said “do not hang up on me! I’ve been on hold for an hour”. He started yelling at me “Dude? Dude? I’m not a dude! I’m not your friend!” I said “you are being so rude to me!” And he mimicked me and said “you are being so rude to me”. I told him I was going to let my daughter in law give him permission to talk to me and when he talked to her, he said he didn’t believe it was really her and hung up on us! It was the most unprofessional call I have ever had.

I am disabled, received social security benefits and Medicare part A and B after years of fighting prove I am disabled (sadly as my medical issue was well documented and obvious). My husband was active duty military when I started working again, I had been working for a year before his retirement and was no longer receiving benefits. Not paying part B Medicare as Tricare was my insurance and was given no direction or advise to keep it. After he retired we realized I was not covered by Tricare because if I'm eligible for Medicare I must pay it or lose my insurance.

Spent months trying to sort this, nobody knows anything, waiting for calls back from Tricare and trying to call Medicare and social security has been a nightmare. I spoke with a rep at SS yesterday after an hour long hold, she was extremely rude, and her supervisor was useless. They said I should go the office. The website doesn't let me log in, says my username has two E's, but they say it's only one. Tried to change password and locked out. This is very deeply saddening to me, and gross that people having disability or retirement have to deal with this. TOTALLY GROSS AMERICA.

I was helping my Dad and we called the SS number for help getting online. The wait time was about an hour and 40 mins. We spoke with Antonio I think was his name. We told him my Dad doesn't know his security question answers and we had already requested the temporary password in the mail twice and never received it. Antonio said there is nothing we can do, he said he can only keep sending him letters and kept arguing that it's not possible to forget the answers because he had put them in.

I explained he must have done it a very long time ago and asked if there is any way he can ever go online. He said there is nothing he can do about that. I told him then he can request a third letter to see if we get it and he hung up right away. Their office is closed so I can't call them back again. So much for customer service, agents like this should be fired. This administration is a complete mess and no wonder why, they can’t hire competent people who are actually willing to help. What a shame and disgrace.

I have made several trips to our local Siskiyou co office for benefit information. I have been given the number of the County Welfare Dept where I must register... I did not know this was a prerequisite for receiving social security retirement money. Two months have gone by without pay. My social security is not a lot... My husband gets his which is around a thousand which is low compared to the rest of the world. My feeling is that they discriminate against us as we are old 66 and 68 with husband severely disabled from stroke. It's possible the Siskiyou County Social Service Dept is actually running or influencing affairs of the Siskiyou Social Security office. This may be how things are done... Possibly we have outstanding debt with the Siskiyou Human Services Dept.

We get great medical care outside of Siskiyou County with no cost to county. We do hospice work with our people for no pay and do not want a case opened with Siskiyou Social Services Dept. I realize I am not going to get any social security money so will get care for husband (68) and get a job instead of trying to retire. I am 66. Perhaps several years down the pike the Siskiyou Welfare Social Services will retire their crystallized social workers who want to see retirees abused by holding up their pay. I will go to the state capital to try to get this cleared up. Write your capital and Washington. Communicate with your representatives... We deserve our homes and a decent income... Disabled people are disposable and treated like garbage. This county is run by a bunch of bullies... Perhaps the old ones in the Welfare Dept should retire themselves instead of paying their bills with our social security retirement money?

My experience is very disheartening. I served this country and when I became deathly ill I couldn't get my underpayment from SSDI even though I became homeless. My only transportation broke down and I still haven't received my back pay. My case was high priority and still no payment. In dire need living in a hotel after double bypass where I died. Had to be revived. Was awarded disability in Jan 2018 and fell on hard times after I returned home. My lawyer was paid in February and I've received I check and I still haven't received my back pay. I'm so disappointed in this country government that I believed in so much I went in the military at 17 and now I get no respect after working since 15.

I'm a voter and a citizen of this country. Disabled veteran, now homeless, car broke down, finances in terrible state. With a high priority case to receive my back with no response from payment center and when I've showed up twice to the local office in the freezing cold to get help they keep changing what the follow up policy for checking a dire need high priority case. Total shame my body can't take the cold. I was in so much pain. SMH. After centuries of this system being a mess it still is but we pay billions in taxes and we can't fix a system for the working class. It's an absolute shame this country is so heartless to the sick people who served and built this country. One check couldn't pull me out of this situation and I've been out of work since 2014. When they claim they are helping Veterans not True. I haven't received one penny to help me from no agency.

So now I can't stay here because with my condition can't stay here. So on top of this now I can't go get another house cause I don't have the income to qualify. I've been on my own since 17. Had my own. Lived on my own. I made 60,000.00 and more. Now sick. No income for 1 year and have no income. Waiting for my decision from SSDI. Get it in Jan. No check till March 2018 and still haven't received 17 months of my back pay. Can someone help me out.

I just called today about a email I got on the weekend. After waiting 25 min I got a rep on the phone and told her after saying good morning to bear with me. I had eye surgery and was having trouble seeing. I explain my call and she looked up my information and when I told her I could not get into my online account she said I had to go to the office to get them to help me because she could not. I didn’t understand because it told me if I need help to call the 1-800-772-1213 number. She kept calling it something other than the ss office so I asked her again.

Once I understood that she was saying the ss office I was unset with myself because I forget my security question. Next thing I know she is talking about me to another co worker and she forgot to hang up the phone saying I got mad at her because I don't know what I am doing. I told her, “Before you start talking about someone you should make sure you hang up and I wasn’t mad at you.” And before I could say I was sorry for making her feel I was mad at her she kept talking and hang up when she saw I was still on the line. I tried to call back to complain only to get a Cris on the phone putting me on hold for a few min coming back saying his supervisor was not in and all he could do is take the phone number down and have them call me back in 24 hour then he started asking me what wrong.

I told him no disrespect to him but I needed to talk with a supervisor not him. I felt like he wanted to warn them that there was a complaint coming through and he wanted to know what it was about so he could go around and find out who took the call. No one should have to her them talking about them period and I feel that they don’t care and I do not believe that there was no one to take my call. I think they all cover for each other and that he knew there was someone for me to talk to but he wanted to find out first so they could get their story together.

The reason for this review is because I'm fed up with trying to get my information from the Social Security Admin. Online account... Of which I've had a long standing account with. Recently I lost login info so I requested a "forgot password" to reset my password. I spent a couple hours getting this info and logging on to my account. I was logged into my account and was resetting my password when I kept getting a message that they didn't recognize my information. Now mind you, I was already logged into my account and it wouldn't let me change my password. I have purchased online for over ten years as a buyer and I'm well versed in setting up accounts and resetting passwords. The SSA makes this process impossible and even more so to access my account info.

78 y's/o, and a Marine for 6 years, (1961-1967) I became homeless in 1999, which lasted until I was about 66 y/o! 7+ years! I always had SUB-Penny Stocks and despite one time where I sold for 400 dollars, (Purchase Cost not included,) I lost all the time one way or another! With all the losses, I never thought to disclose them... yes a mistake I guess, but I may have had a claim to certain Dollar reductions or added benefits?

SO, I had an audit in February of 2018 where A Mr. **, looked over whatever, and was just in the process of dismissing me when I asked him; "Mr. **, what about Sub-Penny Stocks?" I decided it was a good time to find out one way or another! Yes, I brought the subject up to him, not the other way around, which I always assumed that SSI knew about them? Well, the look of the devil came in his eyes, and I felt it was a mortal sin which terrified me!

Ok, a miracle occurred where one the one in a Million P-Stock began rising, making it (Gers) the only one doing any good, and after many reverse splits, started rising and reached about $6,000 of the $7,191.++ dollar number, excluding purchase costs of course! He immediately (February 22, 2018,) asked for the last month's statement, and that I had 10 days to provide it! So by the time I was to send it in, I decided to take into account February's final amount, which turned out to be $ 4,484.++ Dollars, and sent that in besides January's final amount! I got a letter stating that they (decided,) yes decided, that they would use the $7,191.++ amount which I felt wasn't the last amount, but the previous month's accounting! They want us to be fair, but is that fair? Maybe I guess?

I never even told him that I didn't have a car, or van, and that my intention was to buy one with the proceeds, (If I could sell-out,) which is almost impossible with the low volume accompanying P-Stock buying! They quickly suspended me and am now waiting for the final judgment as to how much I owe them, and under what terms!

I came to the conclusion that SSI helped me buy many of those Sub-Penny Stocks, which I came to realize was a great thing, but selling the stock where only maybe 5-12 people participate every day, does not indicate that stock being anywhere near the $7,000.++ worth! I might be able to sell-out when the price goes down to $3,000 or so, but NO guarantee there either? I want to do the right thing as I now fully realize their standards, but with the euphoria of that stock climbing, SSI was the last thing on my mind! But I sense power being utilized here, and I certainly am not the one with any power at all! Any suggestions? Please, this senior has nothing, and might never have anything? Thanks.

The SSA stopped my SSI payments because I have been unemployed. I have cerebral palsy in my right arm and leg since birth and they refuse to pay me because I made some money, but then I got laid off in November of 2017. It is now March of 2018. I have less than $1000 in my bank account and they refuse to pay me $750 a month. I was screamed at by a government agent who told me that I was lying about my money situation and that I was lying about being unemployed. I have told them on several occasions that I do not have a job and that I have a pre existing disability yet, they still deny me SSI.

I have bills, prescription meds and food that I have to pay for with $0 income. How in the world do they expect me to live? I cannot get a job because nobody is hiring! They have even made me cry on the phone while screaming at me! What a joke! I am going to have to write another appeal letter and I will keep fighting them, but this is absolutely ridiculous!

Yesterday I spoke to a social security claims rep. I asked him why, within the last 5 years or so, reexaminations for SSI continued eligibility have been conducted every year whereas during the 80, 90's etc they were imposed every 10 years at the most. He intimated that it suddenly dawned on the SSA that their methods of monitoring were insufficient during that period. Evidently the general idea is that they are now overcompensating for their incompetence by imposing the threat of being disqualified on people who are at an age where they are even less capable than they were during the SSA's alleged period of incompetence.

Since a phone number and permanent address are required for the qualification interviews, there is the added burden of maintaining contact systems within debilitated circumstances or lost benefits. It seems that beyond a certain age, the SSA as a necessary evil would have the decency to just leave recipients alone to grow old in peace and comfort.

This administration needs an entire overhaul. They sit behind a desk & don't give a damn about anything you say or are going through. Then they apologize & state, "I will send out an "urgent" request for your missed payment to be direct deposited within a day." Here it is (10) days later & four phone calls just to be told at local Glen Burnie MD office, "we have (30) days to reply!!!" REALLY. DOES THE WORD URGENT MEAN NOTHING!!! They made the damn mistake, not me. I have worked all my life, no handouts & I have to wait 30 days because they made a mistake, oversight, whatever??? I'm telling you something has to be done & they wonder why people are losing it. If I was here illegally I would not have a problem would I? Now I sit with no money to pay bills, no gas, & no meds for high blood pressure!!! This world & this Administration should be eliminated, someone in office NEEDS TO go through this before anything will change.

Updated on 03/02/2018: Well it's me, I'm back, took a missed day of work with the last bit of gas I have! Went to my local office asking them why they didn't reply to the "URGENT" message the SS ADMINISTRATION guy told me he was sending? Lady stated we received the message but there is nothing we can do! What so he lied (5) days ago???

She said, "I see here where you did speak to a woman as stated on the 22nd of February and you went over your pay & I also see where there has been payments taken out for overpayment", I said, "Then why did I not receive a payment in February??" She said, "Oh they will pay you for February & March but, the system has to catch up so you won't get a scheduled payment until April." I said, "APRIL!!! I was told by that man that it was clearly marked a hardship & I should have a deposit within days." Really??? So the SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION IS A JOKE, & THEY ARE PUBLIC SERVANTS WHO DEPEND ON A "COMPUTER SYSTEM"??? I now have nothing, nothing till April. Gee maybe my high blood pressure will kill me before then & the state will save money!!! What a heck of a way to treat anyone, who has worked all their lives!!!

No matter what the rating in the field may say - I was way more than dissatisfied with my experience with the SSA. In 1997 I was an RCA with the USPS. I had young children and it was a perfect job for me. Anyway, I was in a car accident which injured my neck severely. I went to my doctor a chiropractor and was off work for a long time. I tried to work but was unable. I was told by my doctor that should probably file for SSD. So I did. I was 40. I went to my hearing with an attorney and witnesses and the judge denied me. So I refiled thinking that I might get a different judge but no. To make a long story short the SSA and the SSD ALJ screwed with my claim accused me of "malingering" and making my doctors lie and having my witnesses try and lie for me. I have more than enough proof of being injured and disabled but that judge wouldn't believe any of it.

So I had to try to get by on very little and just kept trying to get the help I needed. I filed to the state circuit court to try and get someone to listen but they merely read the prior ALJ's input and didn't pay any attention to the facts that I was trying to convey to them. Finally the attorney that was trying to help me said that there was nothing further he could do (that's when I tried to get the state circuit court's attention) that went on for a long time. Finally I got back in touch with the attorney and because the SSA had lost some of the file I had the right to have another hearing so we did but again it was before the same ALJ so of course it was denied. There was absolutely no logic to what they were trying to get me to believe. Why would any doctor put their license on the line by deliberately lying to make a patient appear to be disabled. I seen several different doctors throughout the whole thing.

I could understand them playing down the problems and pain a patient was having but not the other way. However the attorney found something that made it possible for me to basically go around the system a bit. He got me some help due to the fact that I had turned over 50 with the same or worse problems however by that time my kids were grown up and I wasn't able to be the kind of mom they deserved. So when I finally the acceptance letter and explanation it was signed by another judge. I read it and that judge basically indicated that they had no problem believing that I had incurred all those problem and was disabled. I don't know what that first ALJ thought he had against me but he made my life a living hell from which I could not escape.

I have MRI's and things that show that I was in pain (not to mention the fact that I was on ** and ** throughout most of the time I was trying to get the help). So if you can tell me if there is any kind of ramifications that can be done to possibly rectify this so others do not have to be insulted, humiliated, degraded and made to feel helpless then maybe the system could be what it was intended to be.

My original claim was back in 2005. After appeals and yearly waits between steps I just got denied again and it's 2018. The way the administration drags their feet is a disgrace. My documentation was as large as a phonebook and the two judges specifically looked for reasons not to approve my request when in both instances it was agreed gainful employment was not possible. People are already desperate when they file the claim and the waiting game and intentional delays is not a good way to foster trust on the government's end. Seeing people in the process of receiving financial help and undergoing drug rehab at my doctor makes my ears feel like they want to shoot fireballs. Especially now. The way things are handled as of now is a disgrace.

I meet the listing 11.09 for MS. I hired an attorney to file my claim for disability in January 2017 because I was about to have 2 spinal surgeries and would not have time to deal with my case. The attorney did not inform me that the paralegal assigned to my case would be out on maternity leave. I got hit with several requests for information from the DDS. I had to answer these myself and make multiple calls to the DDS a day out of the hospital, because the paralegal wasn't around and the attorney didn't transfer my case to anyone else.

I fired the attorney shortly after that and my case was denied for the first time in June 2017. I found attorney #2 and he filed the Appeal for Reconsideration. Unfortunately, attorney #2 did not inform me that I could submit further medical records to update my case and also rebut the ridiculous DDS consultant's Residual Functional Capacity -like "Is capable of unlimited standing, crouching, walking, etc." In fact, attorney #2 did not even submit a request to the DDS asking for the documents they relied on to make the denial. I did that myself, after spinal surgery 2 and before knee surgery. And then I fired attorney #2. Before I had a chance to respond to the DDS, they issued the second denial.

I went online to submit a request for hearing but the system kept erroring out and would not take my online form. After a call to the SSA, it was discovered that attorney #2, whom I had fired 3 weeks before the 2nd denial was issued filed a Request for Hearing even though he was no longer my attorney and had no right to do so. His Request for Hearing canceled mine, which included updated information on my condition, which had worsened. So now my case, which meets the Listing 11.09 for MS, and never should have been denied in the first place, is stuck in queue waiting for a hearing.

A few weeks later, an MRI of the brain indicated I had developed new brain lesions and an MRI of my hip showed that I had torn the cartilage in my hip and will need a replacement. I called the ODAR for a status on my wait for hearing on 1/19/2018. The representative told me that my Request for Hearing was submitted on September 9, 2017 and it would be a MINIMUM OF 2 years for my case to make it in front of an ALJ, but If I get an eviction notice (I have a mortgage) or a utility shutoff I can contact my senator or ask that my case be expedited but not to count on that ever happening. This incredibly disgusting system fails on so many levels, it is beyond unacceptable. The Arizona DDS gets away with not following Listing Guidelines and the unlucky claimants often times end up getting sicker and sicker, as claims are erroneously denied and egregiously delayed.

I qualified for SSI 3 years ago in Joplin Missouri. Then we had a house fire and had to move back to Colorado Springs, where I was assigned Candace ** for an agent. 2 years went by, during which I had to sell my car, my goods, and eventually my home, which I did not owe a mortgage on, thanks to the insurance money. But SSI insisted that money be spent in 6 months or be disqualified.

Over the next 18 months, I made dozens of calls to Candace. I begged, I pleaded with her to resolve my case so I could start collecting the benefits I was entitled to. Eventually I had to sell our home without ever receiving benefits in Colorado. My daughter and I then moved to Kansas. I went to the local office and my new rep, Ryan, apologized profusely for what she had done. My daughter and I were homeless and living in a crappy motel because of Ms. **. Ryan checked what progress she had made, which turned out to be none. Candace had not even changed the jurisdiction of my case from Missouri to Colorado!! So how was she working on it??

I had complained to both her supervisor and the supervisor above them both. Nothing was ever done at the Colorado Springs office to help me in all that time. Thanks to Ryan, I finally got my payments and found a home to rent. He did more for me in 24 hours than Candace ** did in 24 months. Candace ruined my life. She cost my daughter and I everything we had of any value. Her inability or unwillingness to do her job properly is a disgrace to our government and as far as I know she was never even censured. That woman should be fired immediately and those above her put on notice not to fail like that again.

So, just trying to find an office where I can obtain a replacement social security card, because in my state, you can't apply for one online. Called. Waited for an hour and 15 minutes for someone to help me. The guy told me I could go to any social security office to submit the paperwork for a replacement card. So I went to one of the offices in the suburbs, waited in line 30 minutes, and was told, nope, have to go downtown and they close at 3:30, and it was already 3:00. Ok, didn't have time to drive 20 minutes to downtown and find parking so I went home, mad as a hornet, and called again.

Once again, on hold for an hour, got a woman, very snotty, said she couldn't tell which offices I could go to other than the one downtown. Asked to speak to a supervisor, was told no. She offered a technical advisor but said he wouldn't be able to tell me more than she had (which was nothing), but I said, "Yes, I'll talk to him," and then she hung up on me! Calling for the 3rd time today now. Sitting on hold for the 3rd hour, I am, at the very least, going to lose another workday dealing with this. I could just cry, and then scream, then cry again... God help me when I actually retire and have to rely on social security!

Could any of the politicians, Governor, Legislators, Senators etc live on this amount. NO they couldn't. That's why no one gets a raise. This is really sickening to give old people that have to keep working in their 80's (if they are able) no raises and the ones that can't work get nothing either. By October 23rd, I checked the balance on her card to see if it posted... it never posted. A check never even came in the mail. I called SSA customer care same day only to be told the check was mailed back to them on the 12th and it's sitting at the payment center. November 2nd I called customer care and was told they'd do a "??? Receipt", (can't remember the first word) and my check would be deposited in 3-5 days.

A week goes by and I call again on the 5th and updated my banking info where I wouldn't have to wait on a paper check in the mail. Still no form of payment. I called today, November 13th, after I seen that my payment still haven't posted and my daughter couldn't have her outpatient surgery done, I went to the SAA building highly upset. I was again given the runaround. I bet if money was owed to them, they'd take it by any means. Money that’s DUE TO YOU regardless, they drag their feet paying you. She stated "60 days give or take." Ok. So 2 and a half months after my 60 days. I called SSI and they informed me they were completely backed up and to expect to wait another 2 weeks and if by then I haven't received anything call back. We are now into just over 3 months after my hearing. I have now been told by the office that I was approved by that it could take another 6 months possibly longer to get the approval letter, let alone the money.

I called my attorney and she put in for a way to get me expedited a bit sooner than the given time frame since I might not survive any longer living the way I have to. Yet still nothing from them. It's killing me to have to sleep in a back seat each night, not be able to properly clean myself, eating is tough. And finding anywhere I can legally park overnight to sleep where I don't have to pay is absolutely impossible. I don't know what else to do and all I'm waiting on is the approval letter and my checks to come in. It's been recorded on tape by the judge that I am approved. What more is there to do? I'm seriously afraid that by the time I get the approval letter, let alone any check, I might be dead. And I'm not overplaying this. I have to rely on medication to keep me alive and I have no money to pay for it, let alone the appointments to get the prescriptions.

When I returned to the site today, it would not recognize either my username or password; I called Medicare, and, regrettably, encountered a rep who was condescending. She placed me on hold every time I asked a question. I tried to explain the problem was that my username, which I’ve used for years, was not being accepted, nor was my password. She insisted on beginning anew, which was fine, but she made me read each screen, describing each tab, the colors of the tab, the colors of the type, etc. In short, she treated me as if we were having Reading time and “Fun With Dick and Jane”.

She stated that “You can’t rush through this process.” She never listened nor heard my difficulty. We wasted much time. I grew frustrated with her reading comprehension queries and asked for another rep but was placed on hold again. After some time, I hung up as I grew tired of waiting. Fortunately, I was able to solve the problem by doing a general search and by placing several filters so that my target company appeared. But I am concerned for others who may encounter this same issue. Also, this type of condescension does not solve the problem: it creates problems.

The Social Security Administration provides flawed and sometimes horrible service but the basic fact that a phone call to them invariably results in 40-60 minutes of waiting, is indefensible. I simply needed to get a Social Security 1099 form for the year 2015 for my mom. She's 88 years old and I hold Power of Attorney over her financial affairs but, of course, that means nothing to the bureaucracy. I set up a "My Social Security Account" where I found it was easy to get a 2016 1099 form. But, to get a form for an earlier year, requires phone contact which is where the nightmare begins. I waited close to an hour, on the phone, for a conversation lasting perhaps a minute, in which I learned they would not talk to me about anything related to my mother. My brother, with my elderly mother nearby, also waited 50 minutes to talk to someone and, Doh, didn't have her Social Security number. My mom could only remember the last 4 digits.

Finally, my mom took the phone, Social Security number in hand, and waited the one hour to talk to someone and was quickly promised the form would be sent. It would take 10 freakin' days. It's been three weeks and we still haven't got it. It's hanging up a Reverse Mortgage and the money that is critically needed to survive. But, you can bet the Social Security Administration staff couldn't care less.

I have been on SSDI and SSI for 20 years. I have dealt with this Social Security office in Palos Hills, Illinois for the last 20 years. I have been mistreated over and over again at this office and put up with workers and supervisors who are extremely rude. Recently, I got a letter that SSA crosschecked computers with the IRS and to come into the office right away to review my SSI benefits. I immediately went that day because I never trust this office or any letters that come from Social Security because you can't. I spoke to a worker who was nice as pie at the beginning and then turned into a monster by the end. As soon as I questioned how she is saying that I received 5600.00 in 2015 she got all nasty with me saying I received it over and over again.

I repeatedly told her I never got that money and that is not true. I said let me see the paper that is saying I got that much money in 2015. Then the security guard came over and stood over me. The worker told me to go have a seat in the waiting area for a supervisor. I told her I wanted to talk to the manager and not the supervisor and how I know there is a difference. She again told me to just go have a seat in the waiting area. I went and had a seat and while I was waiting I stood up and asked the security guard for his name. He told me his name and I asked why he was standing over my chair listening to my private conversation with the Social Security Administration. He said he wanted to make sure there was no trouble. I said I consider that an invasion of my privacy and told him I would be writing a letter of complaint about him.

I then had to wait an hour to see the supervisor and not the manager like I asked for. The supervisor is usually a total witch to me but I guess she was in a better mood that day. She explained how this company paid me 5600.00 in 2015 and the IRS is reporting it. She said she would need a letter stating the company did not pay me 5600.00 in 2015 otherwise that would be considered an overpayment. She then told me the man's name on the paper and I recognized it as an attorney that filed a lawsuit on my behalf in 2015. I told her, "No I received 500.00 as a settlement in a lawsuit and the attorney received 5100.00." I said that is how they are saying I got 5600.00 apparently.

I left there and contacted the attorney and he told me he would straighten it out. I came in with an affidavit from him stating the breakdown of what happened and how I only got 500.00 out of the settlement. The worker I turned the affidavit and settlement agreement in with at Social Security told me she would not accepted a printed out copy. I told her the attorney emailed me it and I printed it out. I told her it was notarized and she said no they don't accept notary stamps and would only accept a notary from a sealed envelope from a court. I was furious that they make me run around doing all this stuff that is stressing me out making my anxiety go through the roof and have a hard time walking.

So, now the lawyer is sending me the originals in the mail to give to them. And how am I suppose to get a letter from a company that I settled a lawsuit with for them? I am just sick over this. I cannot afford to live without my SSI. I mean for God sakes I have duck tape on both of my 6 year old shoes and the worker at this office says to me SSI is a program for people in need. You don't think I'm in need when I can't even get my basic needs met. I haven't showered in a 14 months because I don't have a shower or bath I can use where I live. I am so disgusted with life as it is and now they are playing games with my SSI that I depend on to survive.

It says on the instruction sheet that if you need help to get a friend or family member & if you still need help you can make an appointment & they will help you complete what you can't. Apparently this is wrong. She apologized & told me that instruction sheet is outdated. You can't make an appointment but you can fill out as much as you can & they will help you with the rest. She was very very nice. She told me since I could go to Anderson or any other Social Security office I wanted to as long as it was in the US. Lol. So I said I would probably go to Anderson due to less waiting. HUGE mistake.

I called the Anderson County, SC Social Security Office after calling the Greenville County, SC Social Security Office (who were very nice btw & I have already written a review for them). I thought I had to go to Greenville County because my attorney told me for one form I did. On this form though Greenville County told me I could go to any office. The form in question is Disability Report-Appeal SSA-3441-BK. The instruction sheet says to complete as much of the form as you can & the parts you can't fill out they will help you when you make an appointment.

Anderson County, SC has less wait time so I called them to make an appointment like the paper said & the girl that answered didn't give a name (I had to call back & get it). She was extremely rude. I tried to tell her what I needed but she kept cutting me off. I finally told her that I was filling out this form & there looked like there would be some things I might need help with. First she told me they don't make appointments for that. Then she said they can't help at all. She said "Don't expect to come in here with a blank form & expect us to fill it out for you." She had totally ignored what I said in the beginning. I told her I just had some general questions about things like dates & things.

She was very condescending saying "What's so hard about it?" Well first of all I'm filling out a NEW SSI application & I'm filling out this at the same time. She was just very rude all the way around & didn't listen to me at all. Finally she practically shouted "General questions only. We can't help you fill out the file because we're the Social Security." Besides her being rude, not giving her name, & telling me they wouldn't help she wouldn't listen to me about the instructions & treated me like I was a total idiot. I thought it was required that anyone working for Social Security Offices had to give their name & ID # or whatever it's called. Do they not have to do that anymore?

My husband was on disability from 1996 to 1999 and went off, went back to work and then reapplied in 2009. In 2007 we got a letter that he had gotten over payments but we were filing bankruptcy so that was included and we did not have to pay that money back. So it was agreed in 2010 that he would be able to go back on social security disability and in May 2010 he started to receive benefits. He then got a lump sum for back payments in November 2010.

Well he passed away 6-16-17. I applied for the one time death benefit of $255.00 and was told I could not receive it due to an overpayment of $8700 to one of his children in 2007. Not once did we get a letter. Even when he reapplied for disability they had the opportunity to mention this, not give him the lump sum, keep his SSID checks until paid or file to not have to pay due to financial hardship. The child's mother who lives in California was receiving these obvious over payments but they wait until he dies when he cannot defend himself or state that he was never told to deny me his wife of almost 20 years a measly $255.00 because of their incompetence!!

I am struggling financially without him and am having to grieve the loss of my husband, best friend and soulmate who was only 56 when he died. Going down to the local social security office they are rude and treat you like you have some kind of disease or are trying to steal from the Social Security because $255.00 is such a large amount. I am disgusted that they would do that to me and wait 10 years to bring it up after he is dead and cannot even make arrangements. Had they said something years before he could have paid it or tried to not pay it due to financial hardship.

Why doesn't the mother of the children have to pay it back. She took the money. We did not and they were stupid enough to send it to her. They could attach her income tax returns if they wanted to. But no they have no empathy or compassion for the widow. They are a bunch of jerks and I hope I die before I have to collect my benefits as they are a miserable bunch of people to deal with in person and on the phone.

When I got the letter about an overpayment they would not tell me over the phone after being on hold for an hour and a half. I had to go to the local office who told me the amount but since I was not the mother that was getting the money (the payee) they could not tell me anymore even though I am his widow. Basically they said, "Oh well" and pushed the paperwork I handed to them back at me not EVEN looking at it.

Again disgusting people and no wonder our government is in such a shamble. Shame on you Social Security. You take money out of my check every pay check but you refuse to give a widow a small death benefit that would help with funeral cost as he has no life insurance or no assets. I would use profanity but I am better than they are. Again you disgust me.

In spite of leaving work 90 minutes before the meeting I was delayed in traffic and realized that I wouldn't make it. I called the contact number on the form for the meeting: an automated system that requires either a name or an extension to complete the call, neither of which are on the form. There was a callback while I was driving home and a message with an 800 number.

I first dialed the callback number -- it's not in service; in other words they call out but you can't call them. So then I called the 800 number, went through the menu for information on the local office, and it tells me that there is no direct phone number for it. There are so many words and phrases to describe this but I'll settle for ought-to-be-criminal, given that they're sitting on my money and purposely preventing access. If I could I'd fire every one of them, top to bottom, because they all know how dysfunctional their system is and none of them care. ** them all.

I asked the same questions a few times and she won't answer me. She keep saying... "I don't skip steps, that's how we do things and we'll be sitting here all day and let's get this done first." I asked one more time And I used the word "Talk". She said I don't need to to talk to her. I need her to respond to me and I said, "Talk, respond. It's the same thing," I just said. Then she had the security escort me to the waiting room. I've never been treated like that before! Unbelievable. I was called from the supervisor within 5 minutes. I was told would go back in after being forced out from my interview. I asked for a support system to be allowed to return with me. I was given permission to be allowed to do so. When arriving back again we were asked to start interview over again and interviewer asked to only ask questions applying to myself and support only there for myself. Which was not followed. After 45 days later to find out no paperwork done or followed and interviewer on stress relieve now. Oh boy very much surprised after waiting since April 2013 of filing for SSI and receiving full award from judge on February 2017 and award letter received March 2017.

When going back in after April of first perc meeting to return in June to hear from Ms. ** remembering hearing the day of my horrible interview and being yelled at and where I had been sitting. I was wondering why they can't be a little bit more kind, considerate, and caring. My entire leg had been crushed, broke main arm, with 180 degree of my foot severed, 5 operations and a major one to come. Then to be asked "How do I remember from so far back" and would not the average if they had gone thru this themselves. Like I replied "I was and had left Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour and restaurant after work and was on my way home when being hit by a hit and run diesel truck and hitting 2 walls on the 57 Freeway and taken to UCI Hospital as a blood loss and trauma patient." This organization is the most inefficient office that I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. I am Representative Payee for my disabled brother, and I have been threatened REPEATEDLY with cutting off his benefits because THEY changed some procedure for reporting and didn't bother to tell me about it! Instead of sending me a letter requesting what they need, like most civilized people, I get THREATS to cut off his benefits! Then I call to find out what the problem is! After wasting an hour on hold (yes, I used the callback service, but I'm still tied to my phone waiting for them to call back), they can't give me any answers. They tell me I have to go to the office. I try to call the number given to schedule an appointment.

It's an automated maze system that tries to sell me all this garbage I don't want and I never get to actually schedule an appointment after 15 minutes of pushing this button and that one to try to get to where I can actually schedule and appointment. So now, I have to go and sit there at the office and wait, because I have nothing better to do (like spending time with my disabled brother). My sympathy goes to anyone who does not have someone to advocate for them. What they do is nothing short of harassment! They take advantage of the weak and vulnerable by jerking them around in a system that I don't think THEY even understand! My next step is to take legal action and file a discrimination law suit! I am tired of being treated this way and tired of my poor disabled brother being threatened by these people. This must be stopped! It is inhumane to take advantage of the weak and vulnerable, and that's all this system is!

The woman assured me each time it would indeed be 200.00 a month more. Then I got a deposit for 40.00?? That was how much more I was to get. SO I immediately called and went into my local office to stop the new benefit and keep on with the old amount and wait until it would be substantially more (18 months). I gave back the 40.00 on the spot. I was told on May 3rd, that it would be just 45 days, and now it has been nearly 90 days and NO payment. I call the 800 number and I am informed it would be another 90 days, the 800 number "we can't really do anything for anyone, we're just the 800 number." WHAT? Why in the world are we paying these clowns, bad information and they can't do anything!!!

At the end of this month I will lose my home of 20+ years to foreclosure as I have not had the funds to pay my mortgage payment. This is a shame as in four years it would have been paid for. So I asked for the rep's name he said Ben. I asked what location he was in he was hesitant then said he was in California. I then asked him what was his ID number. He said they did not have those so I asked for his last name. He said, "I don't think you need that." I said, "Well yes I do In case I have to refer back to this call." I then said, "Sir are you refusing to give me that information." He disconnected the call on me.

When I tell you these people are the worst wow. SSDI contacted us three months ago to say my husband received $2600.00 in overpayment. They specifically said it was for November 2016 and December 2016. I checked our bank account information where we have SSDI deposited and he received nothing in December (which would have been November's overpayment since SSDI is paid a month in arrears), and nothing in January. Their own ssa.gov site shows the same payment history. I disputed the issue by fax with our local SSA office, have acknowledgement they revived my multiple faxes. I sent the ssa.gov site payment information, bank statements with all SSDI payments, etc. Proof we didn't get those payments. Well the SSA assigned some woman named Michelle to handle the overpayment dispute.

Three weeks ago she called me and left a voice mail saying something about "overpayment dispute" paperwork. I already faxed the form the ssa.gov site tells you to fill out and they did get it, I called her back and left three voice mails. As of Thursday, 3 days ago, I was told only she can resolve the dispute and she's been on vacation for almost two weeks. Maybe she'd be back next week by Wednesday. No joke, this is what 2 separate agents told me. So, my spouse should get SSDI on June 3 but the website says (ssa.gov) he no longer gets SSDI but gets Medicare, and the SSDI payment will be applied to the overpayment, it says "the full SSDI payment of $1,***.00 / month is being withheld from your benefit payment."

So I of course faxed this and the info I sent two months ago including the overpayment dispute form from ssa.gov on Friday. The agents keep saying, "only the July 3 payment will be affected", anyone else ever have this happen? Their site shows no payments for months, accused of getting overpayment and our bank statements reflect the same damn thing. Now they're taking my husband's full SSDI benefit and only one moron at the local office can help this issue be resolved? I'm furious. Bank statements on their end and my bank statements don't lie, show the same deposits.

They have switched payroll people and created pay for my son that was my husband's pay, my son has never worked. I just recently received a letter stating that they received 3 pay stubs of income from last year when I gave them, AGAIN, (as requested because they lost the other ones from last year), about 7 months worth of income!

Oh and the reason they needed the 7 months is because they forgot to include the cafeteria plan which with that and creating a job my son NEVER HAD. Btw the job they created was my husband's which made the paystubs EXACTLY ALIKE for my husband and my son. Again my son has NEVER worked. Okay. I have been reading a lot of the reviews on this site and all I have to say is “Oh my God. It’s not just in my city then.” So here is my story. My son is autistic and he was receiving SSI but for the last few months he haven't received any payment all because recently his grandfather his daddy father became employed with Social Security. I have never had any problems with his benefits until now, reported everything I needed to report. Everything ran smoothly.

Okay. My son's father doesn't want to pay his child support so he conjured up a world of lies to get us into court to try and get his child support reduce to zero because he claims to not have any income at the present time, so his father who is clearly sitting right next to his 35 year old son in court each time we have a court date, the same father who is employed with the Social Security office where we now lives is using illegal tactics like information from my files to try and benefit his son’s case.

I became aware of this when I received a appointment to come into the SS office at the same time and on the same date I was scheduled to be in court with his son when there was no reason for me to come into the office in the first place and daddy was very aware of the court date, secondly I had the case moved to the next city over, where he is presently a preacher at a church (yeah I said preacher) in this same city. Okay. When I talk to the new caseworker in this town she is already aware of why I am choosing to transfer the case only I didn't get to hear what she was told beforehand, so if not him directly then one of his coworkers is doing him the honors.

I get a letter almost every week asking for my income info from my job and every time I turn it in and each time I get a letter back stating she never received the documents, but get this all of the letters are coming from the same office I had the case transferred from which is the Selma Ala office, then I go into the office where I live now to inquire about it and they tell me, “no it’s from our office.” Are you freaking kidding me? And clearly the Selma office address is listed on the letter, so recently I got a letter from this same office (Selma office) stating my son's benefits will go to 0.00 because my income is too high yet you haven't received my information! Income that I have never made in my life, it's not my income nor is it any income that I reported on any documents.

It's also been put into the system that his son is paying $300.00 month to me when I don't receive a penny from him, but my caseworker states this is what's showing up in the system and at this point I am like “this is just crazy.” I just can't believe this man is getting away with all this destruction and nobody seems care. Someone has changed everything around in the system put information in my files that I have no clue as to what they are talking about and upon all of that I have filed an appeal three times already and nothing. Not a word. I have filed complaint after complaint even contacted the Attorney General and nothing. I have gone into the office several times so I can have a face to face interview with the caseworker and each time the person at the front desk tell me she's not in, I have called left messages. No return calls.

This entire ordeal have physically and mentally drained me. And I know when you read this you probably don't believe anyone can be this evil but this is the God loving truth. This is what I am dealing with. My son didn't ask to be in this condition and if I didn't need the help I wouldn't be going through this, but it is just sad that a person like this man can be hired to work in a federal establishment and be able to have access and the ability to do whatever they want with people files in order to gain over some personal vendetta against a citizens. I mean it’s just cruel and pure evil most importantly illegal. So if anyone can tell me where to go from here I would love some input.

First of all, it takes far too long to simply cancel a service. If you owed them money, it would take half a minute for them to collect. However, if you're requesting to stop them from taking your money, it takes up to 3 months. Funny how that works. Second, each rep I talked to was argumentative, rude, and just plain nasty. I'm reading from my documents from SSA and they still argue I'm wrong. They have no idea what they're talking about, and then argue and tell you you're wrong. I received a fully favorable decision on my disability claim from the ALJ on May 5th, 2015. Fighting case since 2010 with onset date of 2009. Two weeks prior to this hearing, I had met with a new advocate to discuss the upcoming hearing and also to educate her on my condition, Chronic Lyme disease. My previous advocate retired before my hearing was to take place. I told the new advocate about what Lyme disease has done to me and that since being infected in 2002, all my IRAS, CDS, and savings accounts have gone into treatments.

Dealing with brain fog due to Lyme disease is an ongoing issue. My illness causes mental confusion, cognitive problems, memory issues, retention problems, nerve pain, loss of smell and taste, etc. I had been previously been diagnosed with degenerative brain disease. Long term treatment of Lyme disease is not covered by most insurance companies so patients pay out-of-pocket for their treatment programs. After explaining how Lyme disease had affected me, I felt pretty good about our meeting.

On the morning of the hearing, I told this new advocate that I had new problems with my thyroid, and was dealing with a DEVASTATING financial situation. The advocate went into a room to speak to the ALJ. She came out to get me and I remember telling the judge how I was feeling. The advocate did not say much of anything unlike my previous advocate. New advocate whisked me out into the hallway and asks me if I would take a "one time payout... you know like you got in Virginia?" These were the advocate's words. I was infected in Virginia back in 2002 but not diagnosed until 2003. I had to quit my job of 9 years to go through a long term antibiotic treatment program. I received two years closed period disability.

Anyway... this proposal took me by surprise. Mentally I was already fuzzy due to stress, brain fog, as well as low thyroid problems. A NEW financial issue was causing major stress! I was never told that the judge might do a "let’s make a deal" offer. I asked the advocate if I would be on disability? She said no. Advocate states that the judge would give me a more favorable decision if I would not go back any further than 2013. I asked her when did we file and are the kids supposed to get anything? This is something I knew but at this time I did not know or could not remember. Advocate fumbled through papers and I think she mumbled "09" but seemed to be unable or unwilling to answer questions about my kids receiving anything.

We went back into the room with the judge and I agreed to 2013 and then I DISAGREED. At this point, the Judge says to the advocate that she might want to take me outside to discuss again. We went back out into a hallway and then she motions to some papers and says: "Remember things change after you turn 50. Things are going to change because you are over 50." I asked her repeatedly what does this mean? No legible answer. She kept saying: "things were going to change." I went back into the room and agreed to 2013 but by this time I was really stressed. The ALJ asked me if I was depressed? I told him of course I was. Then he asked me about my thinking and I told him: "I felt like I was trying to think through mud." Everything he said after that felt very insincere. He motioned to advocate and stated: "another fine job Ms. **... case closed."

This advocate should have sat me down and talked to me about what I was going to be giving up in back pay... treatment money, the kid's money, etc. I could not even remember that my disease was a "pay-out-of-my-pocket" disease. I had some money in the bank but did not fully register... I needed clarity. For me, that back pay was life saving money for another treatment program if I have yet another severe relapse. Stress, brain fog, confusion, worry about finances and thyroid issues were not helping me think clearly that morning. I did not expect to have my disabilities and state of mind used against me. This advocate was not on my side and I am convinced that the ALJ knew that I was in a vulnerable position. That hearing has played out over and over again in my mind.

The morning after the hearing, I woke up thinking I dreamed the whole thing. I tried repeatedly to contact the advocate and she was not available. I asked to meet with the head of the law firm she works for but he did not want to meet with me. A call back was offered and then the advocate called me instead. I told the advocate exactly what I thought happened. I let her know that I remembered asking her important questions that either got no answer, a vague answer, or a very slow response. Her response? "You are NOT EVEN disabled... you work a job!! Besides... some advocates may make deals or have relationships with disability judges? But I don't. Oh and don't forget... it was YOUR decision. If you don't like it, you can appeal but I won't appeal it for you." I started to say how much I have suffered from all this and she began to mock me.

Maybe it is normal for a judge to want to work out a different date other than the onset date... but this is not how things played out. The ALJ knew I was confused... the advocate knew I was confused. There have been times early on where medical staff and friends strongly urged me to apply for disability but I did not. I am a fighter. My problems from degenerative brain disease, loss of smell and taste, nerve pain, and other ongoing issues with Lyme disease made me change my mind.

I have worked hard all my life so why trick me out of my back pay? I am not your normal disability case due to the fact that Chronic Lyme disease is much like HIV back in the 1980's. IT IS ONGOING AND THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE ARE PRETTY MUCH UNEDUCATED ABOUT LYME DISEASE. Since being infected in 2002, all my IRAS, CDS, and savings accounts have gone into treatments. Long term treatment is usually not covered by most insurance companies so patients pay out-of-pocket. While Medicaid will greatly help with the cost of medications... I will more than likely have to pay for the actual treatment program.

I have yet to find an attorney that will help me with this case. Sometimes the mental confusion can make dealing with dates and paperwork a real struggle. That is why I turned to an advocate in the first place. I lose track of things at times. I have had three attorneys outside the area reach out to me. One of those advised me that this firm had taken took too much out for pay. These attorneys said they could not fight for me due to travel costs eating up my back pay. I have reached out to Senators, Governors, etc. and looks like at this point everything just went back to the Social Security Administration.

Social Security has scheduled a hearing date for me but they are requesting all current medical information. None of the letters I have received from the SSA are addressing my complaint. I had faxed a letter to ODAR and I am pretty sure have mailed letters to them as well. I sent over all pertinent medical information via fax to Senators, Governors, etc. Being told that after months and months of being strung along that officials cannot help me with what SSA decides. Why did they want my medical information if the officials can't help me with this?? Letters from disability are more like "We understand you are not happy with being approved?" WHO WOULD NOT BE HAPPY WITH BEING APPROVED?

I currently do not have a Lyme disease specialist but I do still take antibiotics. This disease is chronic and I don't think my body can hold up to a third 8 month round of IV antibiotics. I still have oral antibiotics but take them on a pulse / as needed basis. Two weeks without antibiotics and I am unable to function. Antibiotics is not a cure but will at least hold the disease at bay! There are no Lyme disease specialists in South Carolina so I may have to venture to Florida. Keep in mind I have been traveling to see doctors since 2004. I moved from Virginia to South Carolina to be close to my Lyme doctor. He has since relocated his practice to Washington, DC. This doctor saved my life twice but he is very expensive and is now a plane trip / hotel stay away.

I feel like as of the middle of 2015 I have just gone around and around in circles trying to get help. I have lost track of all the emails, phone calls, people I have spoken to since 2015. I strongly feel like my upcoming court date is just going to be a way to take my disability away from me. Seems like there is no place to report an advocate when I was trying to back in 2015. Attorneys told me me they could not represent me because I won? How convenient... My thinking is often blurred and trying to keep everything straight at times is a challenge. Lyme disease is becoming an ENORMOUS epidemic. There is no one treatment for everybody and many of us suffer from co-infections as well. It is a disease affects people physically, emotionally, mentally and FINANCIALLY.

Right now I put in appeal to be seen by a AJL judge and I fired my lawyers because they mistreated me. Yes I called into Social Security Administration to attempt to change the fact that my lawyers would no longer represent me, that I would like to represent myself because you see I'm not stupid like you think I am. I know I need to gather all the medical evidence and documentation to present before a judge to show them and you that my disabilities are real. I am not trying to scam anyone, I suffer from Bipolar 1 and depression, anxiety and I am trying to be a better person. I am going to all my necessary doctors appts and trying to get on the right medication even throughout the fact I have no reliable transportation or any support other than my husband and he has no family neither do I.

I called and the agent laughed at me. When he ask me why I was being so "hostile" I told him "I have bipolar and I didn't ask you for your rude opinion Alva or whatever your name is." This man tried to compare my case to a DUI case? What kind of people are you hiring government? This is not acceptable to act like that to someone with my disorder. I also have a learning disability. Always have. I was born with it. So sometimes I don't perceive the way you might, it's all just very confusing. This experience along with all the horrible reviews on how people like me are being treated just makes me want to give up. I just think it's very sad that everyone including me is being treated like this. This hurts my feelings knowing not even people who say they care a fake facade end up really showing you what humiliation is. At this point I don't know if it's even worth my sanity to keep fighting this battle, I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Because his current doctor hadn't sent his records for the past two years to them they decided he was no longer disabled. The doctor's office said they never received the request which I don't believe because it took me three weeks to get them to release the records to me. I filed an appeal online to reconsider his claim & We physically drove to Social Security & handed them his records. It took them over four months to determine he was disabled & was told to come in & sign paperwork to get him paid. I asked how long does it take to direct deposit his money & was told a week to two weeks.

When two weeks came there still was no money deposited. I called the person we spoke with to sign paperwork for being his payee representative & setup direct deposit two weeks prior & he apologized that it didn't get put through. I told him we have utility cut off notices not to mention back rent not paid in full & asked if we can get an advance emergency payment to keep the utilities from getting cut off. I only make $10.60 per hour & trying to support two people put us behind on bills & rent. If it weren't for the fact my daughter is my landlady we would be homeless too. With having to take off work for his therapy & psychiatric appointments I lost pay & she thought I was deliberately holding back the full rent causing conflict in our relationship. I was told we would have to bring in the disconnect notice in order to get emergency funds.

On a Wednesday afternoon I took off work early because I discovered last time going in around 3:00 most of the people there for one thing or another had already been there & gone making parking easier & waiting to be taken care of much shorter time for waiting. We went downtown around 3:30 & paid for parking in a garage because there's no parking meters on the entire block only to find out they closed at noon nationwide. I asked the guards, "Really! Are you kidding me?" So I lost pay, wasted $6.00 on parking & gas to find out they are closed. You would think since they only work Monday through Friday they would be open. I know the checks go out the Wednesday of the week the birthday falls on so maybe it takes the entire staff to disperse checks & approve direct deposit?

I called today to find out how long it takes to get emergency payment & was told up to five days. I was also told the hold up on the rest of his money was at the payment processing department getting around to it. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. With today's technology why is it taking so long to get funds deposited directly into a bank account. They haven't even sent the approval for being his payee representative which has interfered with talking with anyone about his pay.

This has really been a Royal pain trying to get his disability reinstated & paid. Something needs to change with all the issues putting unnecessary stress on us just to live & with today's technology you would think we could check online instead of sitting on hold for over 30 minutes to find out nothing is being done. No one there is on the same page because I keep getting different answers to the same questions. I would love to have their job at the pay they receive. I'm 61 years old & have paid into social security since I was 16 & feel they can definitely do a better job at getting people paid on time.

I just got off the phone from talking with my mother, who had received some correspondence in the mail from the Social Security. Having a difficult time with being able to read small print and also wanting some help in filling out the requested information, my mother went to the SS Office in Cheyenne, Wyoming where she resides. Once she was able to talk to someone about her need for assistance, the woman, who name we only know is Faye, was very rude and proved to be very unhelpful in explaining the reasons why she received the correspondence, why it had to be filled out and her overall demeanor towards my mother was totally uncalled for.

My mom left the office feeling very distressed over the whole experience. She still does not know if the paperwork was accurately filled out and really does not know the reason why she received it in the first place. She felt that the employee was not kind and willing to be patient and understanding towards her need of assistance. My mom said that she left the office building shaking and frustrated and also bewildered as to why she was treated in the way that she had been treated by this employee.

My mom is 84 years old, has Macular Degeneration, has just recently lost her husband, but otherwise is an intelligent and fairly independent individual who does need help from time to time in situations such as these. No one deserves to be treated unfairly and unjustly and especially by persons in the capacity such as this government paid individual. They are there to help, to guide and to instruct when there are questions. And treat people like they would want to be treated in the same circumstances.

Civil Rights, Fraud on their behalf... I called the main Social Security Office in 2013 and reported I was moving to another state. Asked what I needed to do. I did everything. It went smooth. 2015 I got married, reported it and I was told it would not affect my benefits because I met requirements still. July 2016 I call, report I am moving to another state and I was told since the state didn't do Medicaid on the federal level reporting to Social Security was all I had to do so they noted the changes. I kept waiting for a new Medicaid card since I was in the new state and it never came. I started calling DHS, Social Security getting sent back and forth with my SSI never being a issue. I started recording calls with Social Security because something was wrong. I go to a social security office and the lady upon realizing I am gay and my wife is beside me jumped up started yelling I was getting nothing and I had to leave.

My wife and I drove to another parking lot and I called the main Social Security number I normally call. I am told I will be getting a call back from them later that afternoon. They did call and when I told the woman what happened she got her supervisor to speak with me. I gave him the same information and he said he would take care of it. He made me a appt with another Social Security office. My spouse and I got there early and had to watch a rainbow pride flashing in front of us and everyone that announced they were now serving some same sex couples for four and a half hours. I am in renal failure, feel like crap and only want to get this done.

My turn came and I let the lady know I was recording this for my protection as well as hers. She was confused so I explained and then we got to trying to fix whatever was going on with my Medicaid. I was told my check would be reduced by 300 dollars because of spousal income but I would keep my SSI and Medicaid. I was happy everything was resolved. I get a Medicaid id and told I will receive a card in 7 to 10 days. I go to one doctor appointment after that using just my number because I hadn't received my card. I get some mail from social security and they took my SSI and Medicaid. I was blown away it wasn't what we were told.

I had fought from early July until mid-September and they decide even though there was no change in income owning anything new didn't receive money from anyone what my previous state and Social security said for over a year entitled me to keep my benefits when I married was not good enough for this state. Here it is Feb and I get a letter from them going back to when I reported my marriage saying they overpaid me but I can hire a. We get paid only if you get paid attorney to fight their claim of overpayment in the amount of ten thousand plus dollars. The attorney has to be approved by social security according to this letter as well.

I didn't record conversations until Social Security couldn't get anything right. One minute they claimed I live in South Carolina. No, I reported that move. Then, "Oh you live here." No, that is another state and I have never been there. Next they get the state I had moved to from South Carolina and say, "We don't have a report you moved..." to where I live now yet they say at the same time, "You live at blah..." and it is the address I reported. I kept all paperwork and what recordings I do have but how do you fight the government. It's bad enough I followed the rules for 13 years prior to this and had continued only to have it ripped away but now they claim I was overpaid. No I was not. I did as they told me every step of they way.

Attorneys tell me winning appeals claiming it was not your fault or it was their error never get won. After I got to see how social security broke the law I believe it. I intend to fight it even though both me and my spouse are 100 percent disabled and only have her disability. She was injured in the line of duty while serving as a police officer for over a decade. She can't comprehend how the law is being twisted. They give you payback options if it is under a certain amount but that is saying you did something wrong and you didn't. I am ** but ** on my birth certificate. I always hated the race card and denying one's religion to compensate for another. My heritage courts are used to get back our history. We protest nonviolent such as the pipeline. I see now I was wrong for not liking the so called race card and taking away from one religion to better off another.

The whole time I have been in this state being gay is like saying I have a contagious horrible life taking disease and the social security administration are doing the same thing. I was told "I am so sorry we just spent over a million dollars training our employees on how to deal with people like you." What? People like me?And that is suppose to comfort me?? I have to go to free clinics with horrible care a doctor who still thinks he is seeing me for the first time so all my illnesses that qualified me for SSI aren't getting treated. We are on the poverty line and not by choice. I have a college education and my wife protected our community until a call caused a injury that cost her career. Police aren't taken care of like people think. Work comp pays for her health care relating to the injuries she has thanks to a criminal.

This stuff is real. It hasn't happened only to me. People know the Social Security Administration is government so how do you fight it when they are wrong when they break the law?? We are going to have to declare bankruptcy when last June we had a two story house we worked hard to get and a yard for our dogs to play in. Now we have a 30 foot travel trailer we live in and a vehicle that is ten years younger than me. So I have the appointment to file either for a appeal, waiver or payment plan on a lesser amount than they say they overpaid me. You won't see truth like this in the news. Probably won't believe what I am saying. Nobody is immune however. It could be you.

Then I go to my account to the Social Security website, login and find out that I got suspended from it cause my address and phone number needs updated. Apparently mail got sent back to Social Security office, could of been in the wrong mailbox or simply mailman not doing their job. I didn't know of until now.

Anyways I'm calling them tomorrow. It's all an error. I still live in my same address on file, phone number always the same for 2 and a half years. I have bills due on Feb 1st. The mess up part is I'm my mom's payee. She will have hers on my card. We live in the same house. Doesn't that register to someone in the office humm? Anyways I wonder how long I will get it back. Would they cut me an emergency check, anyone know? I have bills due, I can't afford this. I'm soo upset in the system, not one person called me to confirm it last month or this month. I hope this don't happens to no one else.

I've had no problems with Social Security mainly because I fought for my country and I had a hard time getting VA disability. When I got out of the military I kept some jobs but I had a hard time concentrating and I had two suicide attempts before I even applied for Social Security mainly because of what had happened to me. And I was ashamed and I couldn't help what happened to me and I had to hide it. I was clinically depressed. I went to Mental Hospitals. I didn't want to live anymore and live in this mental state of mind and I did not know what was wrong with me and I didn't have the money to go to the doctor. I had lots of doctor bills and I couldn't keep a job longer than a year. I have more than just back problems. I'm badass psycho according to that.

I walked in the first time my mother came with me. That kind of helps me win my case because I couldn't do anything for myself. My mom is on Social Security and she was helping me. I couldn't even function as a human being without medication. I was dead. I was staring into the wall. As soon as I got out of the military my post traumatic stress disorder was so bad they said "how come you can't be" and I said because I keep getting turned down. It took me twenty years just to get into the VA Healthcare System but I finally did get into it.

I'm seeing a counselor now and a pretty soon and getting ready to see a psychiatrist but I've been seeing a psychiatrist since 2000 since I got out of the army since I came back to this country. I was over in Iraq and Saudi Arabia in Kuwait in Germany. I was 11 Bravo infantry Ranger 12 Bravo combat engineer demolition specialist. So yeah they were kind of afraid of me. I know how to do things. I know a lot about tactical combat. I beat up 5 cops but I didn't go to jail for very long for it because I just got another military. I still have a military ID so that was in the my records so I had it paper trail being psycho and going to jail for it.

So when I walked in I asked for help. That was the hardest thing for me to do is to go ask for somebody for help but I did it and they gave me Social Security and they gave me a Medicaid. They gave me all the money that was owed to me cause I had some good jobs when I made enough money. I must have been like 37 or 38 when I got it. I'm 50 now and I've been seeing Mental Health Care Professionals and I've been seeing physical health doctors. I have back problems too. In fact they found out that I had cervical disc disease. The generator just disease end-stage arthritis skin cancer so when I got Social Security I got in just the right time. It was about 2008 when I got my check and it helped me out so I'm grateful for Social Security. They said they owed it to me because I serve my country and fight proud. That's why I got Social Security.

They said I earned it and that they owed it to me. That I could not function in the real world I would wind up in a mental institution because I'd already been to a mental institution twice now. I'm still working on my recovery. I'm trying to get better. At least now I can open up and tell people what my problem is and I'm starting to understand it more. But I'm still disabled and even more of the cancer went away but I still got all the other back issues. Then I'm still handicapped and people still won't hire me and I can't keep a job but I have been able to maintain a residency so that's a good thing. And I get food stamps so that helps me and now I'm getting all the doctor in psychiatric care that no man can ever ask for. I can getting all the help I need. Thank you Social Security. I bet they don't hear that enough.

You have no idea how much effort it is taking me not to insert various colorful metaphors. I have worked pretty much all my life. I had a heart attack last year and file for Social Security Disability. I was subsequently denied. The denial was appealed and I had to wait 16 months just to get a hearing on this appeal. That was 2.5 months ago and I'm still here waiting to find out whether or not you're going to give me MY MONEY. I could totally understand if this was a handout but again this is MY MONEY.

My particular query is "what the ** do you people do all day?" While I am a Veteran, that "hurry up and wait" ** that I had to deal with while in the military no longer applies. I'm being told I'm waiting for someone to write up the decision. Do you all need some help? I believe I could write an entire thesis in the time it is taking you to write 16 pages tops. The sad thing is you probably know this. I'm told that if I am able, I can earn up to $1170 per month with Social Security Disability. I would like to offer my services. It's not my particular area of expertise but I can't be any slower than you are.

By now most of us that are on Social Security have received our notice about the cost of living adjustment which in my opinion is a "Slap in the Face". For my wife the increase just covered the additional cost of plan "B" and for me it went to cover the Federal Tax. So how are we going to cover the increases in utilities, gas, food and so on. Oh! Let's ask all these companies to roll back the prices.

And if any of you who worked for the federal government we are all in the same sinking boat. I know for me after working 50 years and planning for my retirement both working for the federal government and also working for different companies so that I may also collect Social Security. I had to take a penalty because I could not draw full entitlement even though I worked enough time to do so. I told my wife that I wanted to send back the 0.3% but stated to voice my opinion. So the next time you offer this I hope that my time on this earth is looking from the brown side up.

I applied for Social Security Disability in May of 2015 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was denied SSD even though I was supposed to be on Chemotherapy for over a year. I quit taking Chemotherapy after the first four treatments because I did not have proper nutrition, nor a safe place to live. I lost my job, and the trickle-down effect caused me to lose my home.

According to Cancer Centers of America, "Many cancer patients experience gastrointestinal symptoms. The Nutrition Therapy team helps restore digestive health, prevent malnutrition and provide dietary recommendations during treatment. Our goal is to help you stay strong and nourished, so you can continue with your cancer treatment." I was not allowed basic nutrition. According to Beth ** the social Worker for the oncology unit at the cancer center I was at, stated a lot of people taking chemotherapy have lost their homes, we have two who live in their truck at the lake. So, this is acceptable health practices. In fact, it seems to be a way to keep people from healing.

I have been unable to heal from just those four chemo treatments and have gone from 125 pounds to 94 and I am probably less that at this time. I have an upper and lower GI scheduled for the 7th of January and I will not be able to do that because I am homeless, vomiting, I have diarrhea and I must take a medication for five days prior to my scheduled appointment that causes more of these problems. I have no appropriate nutrition but according to SSD I must keep all my scheduled Doctors appointments. I cannot do that. How do I poop and vomit without a toilet? When I am scheduled for surgery I have no place to heal. I have gallbladder stones. Need my gallbladder out (this doesn't seem to be a big deal) but without a place to heal it isn't going to happen.

I have contributed to my society by paying my government my taxes. I have gone from a woman with seven rental houses, holding a job, to one of lowest people on the societal food chain. I was a volunteer for over sixteen years. When I was in the seventh grade a representative of Social Security came into my government class and spoke on how our society and government works. I was told that when I contributed to my government they would take care of me in the event of disability and or retirement. This was a lie.

The purpose of this complaint isn't because I believe you will help me. It is a hope that somebody will take responsibility for changing the way things are done. We must be pro-active; help people in medical situations that allow them to heal, so they can become productive citizens again (right you want people to pay the government but we can't). This right or promise was taken from me. I am a dead woman walking. I will get cancer back if it isn't back already. However, with the dietary issues I am having I am losing weight at a pace that I will just drop from malnutrition in a very short period of time. It is over for me, but you can be pro-active so that others can heal and you the government can stop lying to the citizens of the United States and do what you claim or have promised.

I followed the only legal form of cancer treatment, I was told by the cancer oncologists that I would receive SSD while receiving chemotherapy. This was also a lie. I followed the law, I have supported my government that I had believed in. Where did it get me? I was a law-abiding citizen, I believed in my government, I have supported my government, and in return, I have no home, my health was taken from me, I cannot get a job, I have no roof, but the most important thing taken from me was my belief system of supporting my government and the medical establishment. I do not believe anymore.

A day after my brother died in June of 2016, his Social Security check was deposited as usual into his bank account. Within two days after his death, the funeral home properly notified the SSA and within 24 hours of that notification, the SSA withdrew that last check. In late June, the SSA notified me, as his next of kin, that I could apply for that last check as part of his estate. On July 1st, I mailed in the completed form and an original Letters of Testamentary as required. In the middle of September, I visited the local SSA office to ask for a progress report. An agent with no name said that he would send an inquiry. Nothing ever arrived telling me what the status of my claim was.

In the middle of October, I again visited the local SSA office to get a status report. Again, I had to speak with a person with no name. She was more interested in talking about her personal problems than getting an update for me. She said she would make and inquiry but that she didn't see any information about what was happening to the claim. You guessed it. In the middle of November, I spoke with a different individual with no name and got the same runaround. The reason for them not wearing ID badges with names visible is so that people can't positively identify the miscreants by name in a formal complaint. I can understand not having their last names on an ID, but first names would be nice.

It is now the 16th of December and still no word on the claim. If Christmas comes and goes and the money hasn't arrived, I'm going to pay a personal visit to my Senator's local office and see how they might get involved. I'm certainly open for suggestions on getting this long overdue issue resolved. There is no order number because I can't include my brother's SSAN. Nevertheless, I hope this gets published because someone in authority may see this posting and choose to get involved.

Social security has become judge and Jury, concerning our folks' security case. Social Security has stated that my daughter and I individually owe them $15,000. Let's do the math. That's $30,000, and we have to rely on them to inform us if we are current. We do not owe them and they need to refund my daughter's money. They have taken my daughter's $4,000 from last year. States that we have an overpayment. Due to my daughter not being mentally capable okay. 5 years ago. I have complained to no avail with Social Security. I have written to the attorney general, the Better Business Bureau and top authority to no avail. We have proof that my daughter has had a disability since she was 4 years old. All of a sudden 5 years later we are told then she doesn't have a disability and for some reason they can't find the paperwork until I showed proof of her disability.

I have written to the Ripoff Report. I believe that we have been targeted bad employee in Social Security who wants to cover up the mistakes that they have made. I was receiving SSDI and it was discontinued for 3 months after I complained with outside sources. All of a sudden I was informed that I would continue to receive SSDI. When I go on social Security website to print out information they have in there an old address. I have copies to prove this. I am not capable of receiving information that is needed. So I close the ssi website account. I have been working as well as my daughter and we are Start afraid that they will take our income taxes due to this scandal. I was only receiving $347 a month. A portion of this was to pay for an overpayment from child support and the second portion and $100 dollars went to pay for medical insurance, which early this year was no help.

I owe creditors, and hospital bills. I am in debt to the point of bankruptcy due to this matter. I have worked all my life and I feel that social security has failed me and others who asked for help and then have to pay back that help. I love America. Will Social Security give America a black eye. They don't want to help people that I truly in need of assistance without the struggle. I have been working and I will continue to work, and fight for justice for those who cannot speak for themselves. There are many elderly people they are doing this to. They can't eat desirable foods, many stand in lines in the cold to receive DARE TO CARE food from trucks, yet they receive over $700 a month in SSI payments. Is this morality? Our injustice to American people are pay bills.

This issue with Social security must be addressed, before it decays, the human spirit. They have lost homes and peace of mind, due the social security cruelty acts. I worked with a lady benefits were cut in half, because she worked and her rent was increased to $700. She was not aware of the ticket to work program. We can not let the elderly or any Americans rights to joy and happy living be demolished by a system of people who have taken Government jobs to punish people. We have rights and let's all continue to speak against injustice.

Representative says ok and proceeds. She asks for his SS# and I start to tell it to her when his mom doesn't know it and she flips out on me saying I am not allowed to talk and she will not take any information from me.

She told me couldn't tell me when the check would be sent, although I explained to her that my mother was experiencing a financial hardship. She said all she could do was send a message to the payment center and hope for a response within 7 business days. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she refused and said I must go into a local office to make a complaint. How can a disabled woman that just suffered a stroke, and has financial burdens be expected to drag herself into an office to inquire about the returned check.

I repeatedly asked her to let me speak to a supervisor and she began antagonizing me asking why I want to speak with one because they were only going to tell me the same thing she told me. She then placed me on hold for several minutes and said the supervisor would call me back in an hour. Then she placed me on another hold and said it would be 24 hours before I was contacted. I Sat there the other day for three hours and still not resolved. I hate these people. They treat you like an animal with armed security guards. At this point I don't know who to turn to for help. On Sept 12, 2016 I received a letter along with the copies of all the documentation I provided on 9/6/16. Correspondence from them revealed incorrect information. When I contacted them they denied receiving any documentation from me. Wow they sent me the documents back but they say they never got them. How absolutely voiceless I feel. How can this nonsense stop if officials turn a blind eye.

I am disabled, burn survivor and back in September (2016) my husband walked out on me and then when that happened the SSA drastically cut my SSI monthly payments down from $755 to $235 a month now. How am I supposed to live on that? I strongly believe that the SSA is punishing me for my husband's walking out and that is unfair. I have tried repeatedly to work with the SSA to reinstate my original SSI amount but they have refused. So I was forced to contact as many of my representative in Washington DC and even they can't (more likely) won't help. They are useless. So now I have decided to write to the SSA commissioner. I am now waiting to hear from her. If she doesn't do something about this I am planning to have the SSA office where I live INVESTIGATED by a higher authority because something is wrong with what they are doing to me.

The SSA area bunch of criminals and thieves. I believe that more people should stand up and do whatever they can to fight back rather than just sit and complain about what the SSA is doing to them. One, two, three rejections for help doesn't mean you simply give up. If we all stand together we can make our politicians change the way SSA works and force them to actually help people rather than just throwing a monthly check at us to keep us quiet.

I believe that SSA should be more than a bank for us. It should actually help us live better lives by helping us get job training, and a good paying job, decent housing and money to pay the rent. The way the SSA works now doesn't really help anyone it just throws money at us to keep us in line. Well it's time for the SSA to be overhauled, investigated and the SSA employers and employees need to actually earn their paychecks and if they don't, can their sorry asses. Oh and they should have to earn the minimum wage and live on it as we do. I don't know about the rest of you but I've had enough of the SSA abuses and I intend to do whatever it takes to change the way it works!

Stop cutting people's SSI checks. If they get Social Security or SSDI those checks are never getting cut if they get an increase being on SSI and their spouse gets SSDI the person getting the SSI does not get an increase and that is ridiculous. How am I going to live $326 a month and have 2 bills and a loan to pay back and buy stuff for the home while living with in-laws and have no actual money left to live on the rest of the month. A complaint needs filed on the SSA Office and their workers and the President. The new one needs to change the laws on this. Anyone on Social Security hasn't gotten one cent in an increase since 2014. The GAO said there was no increase in the cost of living, so if you're retired, you don't need a cost of living increase (COLA). There is no COLA for 2017, again we don't need it since everything still costs the same as in 2014. What planet do they live on? Here on Earth, nothing stays the same. I know 3 people who are 79, 80 and 83 that had to go back to work to make ends meet. Apparently, government employees are getting paid plenty so the rest of us are totally ignored. Maybe when these people retire there will be no SSI, so I hope they are all investing wisely. I hate this government, but I love my country!

It would not recognize it again though & took me out of the system (You cannot try again after several tries.).

Then I tried to call & was told the wait would be about 45 minutes! (Even to get to that point to hear about the wait time, the automatic voice prompts would not let me advance unless I practically yelled out the answers!) I don't have that kind of time to wait 45 mins unfortunately. I am simply trying to apply online for my benefits! Even the local offices use the same 800 no. (800) 772-1213. I received a letter 2/2015 from the social security administration stating that I owe them a very large overpayment. $98,000.000 and that's not including the benefits that were paid to my 4 children under my claim. After receiving the letter, I went straight to my local office to see what was going on. My caseworker informed me that my benefits were ceased in 2006. He told me that I have been getting benefits for 9 years and was not suppose to be getting them. Not to mention that I have had several medical and work reviews between the years of 2006-2015 and they all came back saying that I was eligible for benefits. My benefits were also stopped in 2008, I appealed it, won the appeal and received back pay from the appeal and my benefits were reinstated in 2009. So why they didn't find out about the overpayment back then, I'm not sure.

So my question to him and every other worker that I have talked to at the SSA was how did they let that go for so long without catching it and nobody can give me a solid answer on what happened in my case. I have showed them all of the letters that SSA have sent me to prove my point. I have talked to everyone from my local office, to the 800# reps, to a lady in Baton Rouge and to me all of them are giving me the runaround. I went to my local office 8/10/2016 and I was told that my case was reinstated in 7/2016 but it is still being processed in the payment center in Baltimore, MD. I explained to him that I have been going back and forth with them for almost 2 years and I am now in a dire need situation. Every time I call and talk to someone about my situation, I get a different story.

I think it is very unfair that the SSA can do this to people whom already have challenges and something needs to be done. I have contemplated suicide on several different occasions because I am beyond my breaking point. I have been suffering for almost 2 years for a mistake that clearly someone at the SSA has made and all they can tell me to do is be patient. That is a lot of money hanging over my head and I cannot just be patient. My next step is to get my state representative involved and see if they can help me because so far SSA has been no help to me.

I filed for Disability in 2014, after having a breakdown and leaving my job. At the time I was still in the National Guard, and trying to finish my 6 years, while trying to support myself and my now husband. I have always had problems, but for a couple years I seemed stable and doing fine, aside from minor hiccups. It started going downhill in 2012 due to a number of circumstances, and from then on, it just got worse. I have PTSD (childhood sexual trauma/violent trauma), Borderline personality disorder, dystima disorder, anxiety disorder, all very severe and requiring medication and therapy (the therapy isn't available in my area due to insurance coverage) on top of having a spine injury/knee injury (military related). All of these are documented, but each new doctor I get sent to seems to have differing opinions that caused some problems (i.e. being diagnosed with bipolar instead).

Since filing, I had to get a job a couple months after due to having no other income and was desperate. Ended up getting fired a few months later. Haven't been able to keep a job longer than 5 months because lack of appropriate treatment and inability to cope with the public. I was denied, and got an attorney to assist me, and got a court review. The judge was, to say the least, condescending with my case. I felt like I was treated like someone looking for a hand out, despite trying my hardest to be productive and having it thrown in my face. I was denied again, with the judge concluding that I could just take an office job. Not easy where I live when you not only have to compete for the job, but they require several years of experience.

I am still in the process if fighting for SSD, only to find out that my friend, who in the past four years developed Anxiety/depression, was fast tracked through all the paperwork, and approved on the first try. She had been working as well, as a CNA, a couple years before that before quitting her job. HOW THE HELL can someone, who has been suffering with illnesses like mine, who has had multiple hospitalizations, documentation, therapy sessions since the sixth grade, and proof be denied while someone who just developed problems only a few years ago be approved? Is it because I had to work (however short in duration they were)? Was it because at the time I couldn't afford therapy (and even now can't get in to see one due to insurance coverage)? I still can't get a job since no one is willing to hire someone who has these issues, which is understandable. It costs a business money if something goes wrong.

It may be me, but there seems to be a mixture of age discrimination there, as well as not taking mental illnesses seriously. You can't send someone to have a mental health evaluation for 30 mins and have a proper diagnosis (as well as that doctor is known to be a quack in our town and has a reputation of issuing incorrect diagnosis to patients). And simply denying over the fact that they have tried to work but either having to quit or get fired because of their medical problems? It's really, really sad seeing people take advantage of disability, while people with legitimate mental health problems are given this runaround.

This past week I was a victim of identity theft. I have a direct express debit card that my Social Security disability income goes on. Sunday July 3, 2016 I called in to get my balance and all of a sudden it was down to zero dollars. I was stunned. I got nothing but the run around from Direct Express debit card services when I called several times and got nowhere. I filed a police report which did nothing because I live in another state from where the crime occurred. I called the store in the other state that it happened at and they refused to stop the "pending charges" because they would have to take a loss is what their loss prevention department told me. I finally was at my wits end on what to do because now I had no money to live on.

I called the 800 number for Social Security and was told "don't worry just go into your local office and request a "critical payment" and when you get the money back on your card just pay back the critical payment." I was so relieved to know I would be ok because I had a whole month to live and no money after this happened to me. I went down to my local Social Security office and was told by the worker I saw that they don't do that and he doesn't know why they would even tell me to go down there at all.

He told me to go have a seat and I could talk to a manager about it. I waited for an hour and a half and the manager was a total witch to me. She told me that "she knows me" and has dealt with me before. She accused me of doing this before which was a complete lie. I cried in front of her and she just said they were not going to give me anything.

I told her I have no money to live on. She said I have done this before. I asked her to look into my Social Security records and tell me exactly the date I have requested this before because I didn't even know what a critical payment was until the 800 number told me to go do it. She said she is not going to be looking up anything and they won't do that for me. I asked her if she was refusing to look up my records for me? She said she wasn't refusing to do anything and she won't be doing that for me. I then asked how I file a grievance against her. She told me to go look on the back wall for the information. I asked her to go get it for me and she told me no I can go get it.

I told her I was disabled and needed her assistance in finding it. She finally went and got it for me. It was a form saying "how are we doing?" I could not believe this woman and the abuse she subjected me to and she brings me some little survey asking "how are we doing?" Then the security guard stood up and walked behind me standing there. I asked if they were trying to intimidate me and if this is what they do to people that question anything. She said she wasn't doing anything to me and she will not be giving me any payment. I left distraught and even contemplated suicide over this. I got nowhere in trying to receive help when I was desperate.

This office has a history of being abusive to people. I went home and wrote a letter of discriminatory complaint to the Social Security administration about the manager and her employee being abusive to me and refusing to help me in my dire need. I called the 800 number back that told me to go there for the "critical payment" and now am told it is up to the discretion of the office to help you. The man on the phone said there must have been some reason that they would not help you? I am shocked they can treat people like this. I ended up going on Facebook and posting about the identity theft and finally the bank that issues the card responded and got my money back to my account. Normally it takes up to 45 to 90 days but I guess posting on Facebook helped me cause.

Social Security should be ashamed of themselves for how they treated me. I even said to the worker I first talked to should I just go off myself because I have no money to live on now and he could have cared less. It is disgraceful how you are treated in our country when you are poor. And Social Security claims they give exceptional service. I no longer trust my local office. I fear going in there now because of the manager having it in for me.

I have been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder from how we were treated by Social Security many years ago. We were bullied to an extreme degree, and lied to, through omission. I was sent checks for a number of months after I started working, despite having informed them many times. They finally stopped the checks. I had to move, and I was out of work again. I was sick and in a very traumatic state (due to family abuse) to begin with. Three years later, I was sent an overpayment notice punitively for sending in a change of address card, after being treated rudely on the phone. I refused to pay, because of the bullying nature of it (they were completely at fault in this, and then some), then they held my father's social security ransom for it, without any disclosure at all that he was liable.

This involved deliberate negligence on the part of the Richmond California office. We were also treated with rudeness; their communication was incoherent and cryptic, and absolutely NO quality control, and we were even framed. I was in such a traumatic state that I didn’t (couldn’t) pursue legal help. I suspect there are many more beneficiaries who cannot fight back because of their own illness which they take advantage of. There should be no excuse for making overpayments due to administrative negligence. Why can't those who responsible for it be made to own up to it? Why can't they be made to pay out of their own salary? Why can't they be the first ones under scrutiny, as they should be, in a reconsideration? (It is a process which puts us through hell.) We experienced bullying at its worst, and to this day I feel really violated.

I am on the autism spectrum. I have a very traumatic past involving bullying and family abuse. In the way of bullying, this was yet the worst I had ever experienced. What I experienced was far from a humane caring organization – what I saw was a dictatorially run organization, an uncaring monolith which could not be touched, against which we have no voice and are powerless and one which deals with their own dysfunctionality and lack of competence by use of brutality, dishonesty, and covering up to the public. I think that having no social security system at all would be better than this because there is nothing worse than being lied to, misrepresented, being treated with ill respect, and being forced against one’s will to patronize such a system.

After the hearing, she is attempting to enter an opinion that goes against everything my files show in attempt to deny me benefits. The fact she is entering this after the hearing so my lawyer can not cross-examine this random expert shows how sneaky she is. Looking at her numbers she approves close to the least amount of people in both states that she operates. According to the law, ALJ judges are suppose to give great weight to VA disability findings. Instead, she is looking for any way to deny me. I have been in contact with state legislators who are investigating the matter.

It is a sad world when a veteran risks their life for a country and returns a shell of what they once were only to have to fight for a judge to believe in an already VA determined 100 percent disability. This needs to change and I will help change this law. We need new laws to support our wounded veterans and ALJ judges need to be held accountable for going against the SSDI veteran laws. This practice is a disgrace on veterans. What she did in my opinion is a disgrace and I am glad the state is looking into this matter to help other veterans in the future. We deserve better. Good luck to anyone seeing this judge who is a veteran. You have an uphill battle.

I'm thinking of declaring war against SSA. Yes real life killing people WAR! Got your attention? Good! Now let me tell you how they ruined my life... This started when I was homeless in 2010-2011 finishing my bachelor's degree during my last quarter. I was receiving letters saying I was getting overpayments (direct deposit). Of course I didn't know about the letters because... well... I WAS HOMELESS!

I had got a job during 2nd quarter of 2011 after I graduated, and got my first (really crappy roach infested cheapest) apartment. Upon getting the job I visited their office and told them they can stop payments because I have a job now. They agreed (not telling me anything about the overpayments). Then they just asked for my address and I gave it to them.

About 2 months later I started receiving letters saying I owe them $8,673 dollars of overpayments for 2010. I called them asking if there was some sort of mistake, and they said no, and I also owe an additional $5,700 for SSI. I went down to their office explaining my situation and they gave me the option to file for an appeal, or file for a waiver. I tried filing a waiver, and they said it will take up to 3 months before I get a response. They told me I can continue to ignore the overpayment letters until this waiver gets filed. 6 months later (along with several checkup visits), I still received no update, and was continuing to getting threatening letters of garnishments. During my working period, I built up a credit score of 829 (with a perfect record of no late payments).

In the mid of 2012, I had lost my job and paid off my credit card (to ensure I would not be in any debt that could ruin my credit). I had been given the opportunity to move back in with my mother, and I took it. I went to the SSA offices after the move, and showed them what was going on. They gave me the option to file for an appeal, and I did. I got a phone call from one of the SSA reps who wanted to hear my side of the story. He said he would talk to them to try and straighten this out, and "it sounds like they don't know what they are doing, especially since you were homeless during those overpayments". 2 weeks later he called back and said he cancelled the court date, and cleared everything up so I won't hear from them again.

During the duration of living with my mother I had $0 income for 6 months. I was literally on my last $10 and had finished closing my bank account 3 days before I got offered another job. After 3 months of the new job, I moved back out into a room for rent (to stop the 1hr commute from my mother's). I got another letter (sent to my mother's address when I went to visit her), and it said if I don't pay back the amount of $14,000, they will start garnishing my wages, and they don't need proof or a court order to start the garnishments according to an act in 1996.

In 2013, I started to notice garnishments happening to my paycheck by 25%! I went to their office, and the lady told me because I failed to contact them about the overpayments from 2011, they will continue to garnish my wages until the amount of $21,000 (what the **? How did this amount increase $7,000 when I hadn't been paid anything since 2010!?) was paid off. I told her "I have been in contact with your guys' offices, and you guys told me it was dealt with and over." She said "we have no records of this." I told her "I will be suing your offices." Her response was "good luck."

10 months later after working 100hrs a week while trying to juggle finding a lawyer and getting together documents of all the SSA stuff, I couldn't afford the garnishments and was on the brink of being homeless again. I found an organization of disability rights act and they said they don't have any lawyers to help with a case like this, but they recommended me contacting my congressional representative. I did so, and the guy who agreed to take the case was named Anthony. He was able to get SSA to stop the garnishments, however the debt was still owed (and was $24,000. What the **. They stole $8000 from me and the amount I owed increased!?). 2 years and 400 emails back and forth later, the congressional rep said he was moving to Washington and had reassigned me to another rep.

After the stress of getting nowhere in 4 years, and the overwork with no extra hours paid for, I quit my job. I was on the brink of death (health wise). I had moved back in with my mother and devoted my full attention at trying to close this charade. 5 months later after talking to the new reps (for both congress and SSA) I realized all the work over last 4 years was for nothing and I was back at square 1. All I had was 3 gigabytes of recorded data showing how they are wrong and why I don't owe them anything. After the continued harassment of letters, I read online it was possible to file for bankruptcy. I thought to myself why not? They already destroyed my credit score (was 829, but went to 609 after the garnishments, and only thing I have bad payments on was SSA Offices). So I did. I hired an attorney and filed chapter 7 bankruptcy against SSA.

A month ago I received another letter from SSA. They said they just used my payments to pay off overpayments, and that I now owe for these overpayments. I contacted my lawyer and he said well this is a loophole and there is nothing he can do about this. I've snapped. I'm about to go postal. Is there anyone who can help me! IF SSA WON'T ALLOW ME TO WORK AND SUPPORT MYSELF I DON'T SEE ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE THAN TO GET VIOLENT AND DECLARE WAR!

The SS and Medicare departments are intricately tied together, but did you know they have no way of directly contacting inside each other? I found out the hard way when trying to resolve an issue. Social Security was blaming Medicare and Medicare was blaming SS. Due to unforeseen circumstances a check I wrote got lost in the mail, and then because I was traveling and not getting mail, I ended up having my Medicare part b canceled. When I got home and realized what happened, went to my local SS who after 2 days of reviewing my issue, agreed to reinstate me to part B. I gave them a check for the missing amounts. I was told this would take about 2 weeks. Medicare cashed the check on March 1st. It is now mid April and I still have not been reinstated.

I have been told this is in process. Neither Medicare or SS will give me any kind of written documentation of what I have been told, so I can't seek any new medical services, as these will not be processed until my reinstatement goes through. I am told the bottleneck is at the processing center. Though SS said it should take 2 weeks, according to Medicare it can take up to 60 days from when the processing center starts working on it. Even though I gave check to Medicare on February 11th, the processing center didn't start working on until March 10th, and that is only because I called on March 8th to complain that my reinstatement had not come through yet. So starting on the 10th they are telling me that I should have it by May 10th.

That is approximately 3 months from when I was approved for reinstatement. I understand that these are busy organizations but 3 months for a reinstatement? And their absolute refusal to give me any kind of assurance in writing. This is not only cruel and unusual treatment, this is actually a matter of life and death. These departments should be ashamed they treat us the citizens like this. This is not a favor they are doing for me, I paid for these benefits my entire working life, and now I am treated like a non entity. Shame on SS. Shame on Medicare.

In May 2015, I applied for social security retirement. I chose to begin receiving benefits in August. However, in July I received a contract job offer so I contacted my local SS office right away and was advised to fill out a cancellation form and mail it to my local SS office for processing. I did so immediately and assumed they would do their job. In October I checked my online bank account and discovered that SS had been putting money in my account every month since August despite the fact that I had informed them by phone and in writing that I was working and how much I earned. No one had processed the cancellation. I requested a second form and took it to my local SS office in my own hot little hands and they still refused to process it. They continued putting money in my account until I brought the entire $3,352 in CASH (they refused to any other payment method) and then they sent me home WITHOUT A RECEIPT!

I had to go through the congressman's office to get a receipt. It took until January for them to process the cancellation and provide a receipt for the cash repayment I hand-carried to their office. That's not even the worst part. Right before Christmas, my contract job ended and I had to RE-APPLY for my social security retirement. I was advised to apply in person, not online, to avoid further issues so I went down and applied the first week of January. My claim was initially denied simply because they were still in the process of cancelling the earlier claim that I had cancelled in writing in July! Again, I was advised to return to my local office to re-apply for SS retirement, which I did in February.

My local office in Oak Ridge, TN sat on the application for a month before forwarding it to the processing center (according to the processing center). It has been sitting in the processing center ever since. This morning I called the main number for my area in East Tennessee to check on the status not once but TWICE. Both times, I was stuck out on hold and sent to a telephone survey without anyone helping me. This information needs to go on the front pages of all the newspapers in Washington D.C. and every state capital until something is done about it. Our social security is in complete chaos with rude, unprofessional employees that refuse to help you. And these are the people I've been giving my taxes to all of these years!

I am sick with heart problems, back problems and brain aneurysms that unable me to work any job, plus I live in a different country which I reported. I can understand if they lower my payments received until they verify the truth, but the Social Security Administration left me with nothing to buy food with.

I don't want people to suffer so I suggest you do something to protect people as to the power of our US Constitution! The Social Security Administration has no right to stop benefits for any reason! I recently received a letter from S.S. stating that my benefits are discontinued as of February 2014; I received my cut off notice in February 2016. S.S paid my benefits from the time they said my payments would change to zero dollars, February 2014 - February 2016. I have been receiving my benefits for the two years they said I would no longer receive benefits, and I did not receive my money on the first of March this year with no prior notice.

They claim I have been working a mysterious job I do not have, but can't tell me where, and that I also receive a pension that I do not get, nor have ever had. They also claim my spouse pulls in $304.00 a month from a mysterious job she doesn't work at either. Long story short I was told my SSI is no longer in effect, and I filed a reconsideration notice for an appeal. They sent me a letter with a hearing date on the 16th of this month and I have no money this month with a wife that is on temporary assistant and is medically exempt. I also have two young children, ages 4 and 6.

I think this is just wrong and why they couldn't turn on my benefits till the appeal is beyond me. I never received a phone call or notice giving me advanced notice to protect my benefits from being interrupted, and they had two years to do so. This is an injustice and I have always cooperated with S.S. and anything they requested over the past 15 years or so. How my wife and I prove we don't work, and that I don't receive a pension is a question you would think is easy to answer or figure out with computers today but S.S can't give me an answer on that. I called late in the afternoon and after a half hour a customer service rep answered the phone. I asked how I could get a proof of payment and was told I would have to call Medicare billing. She said Social Security does not have that information. I asked for the phone number and was give a 1-877-296-8080 number which I called.

To my surprise it was a medical alert device marketing company that played a message about their product. Certainly not Medicare billing. I hung up not wanting to get into any kind of tangled web of phone calls, but the company did call back about a half hour after I had hung up. I'm wondering if these CSRs are getting paid to route people to these types of scams and if so why are they still working for Social Security. Or maybe SS has contracted the job out to contractors who do it and the CSRs are able to do what they want.

I tried setting up an account for my daughter's SS she receives online and after I typed in all the information it said because she is under age I would have to contact the social security office. They provided a number and on the right hand side of the computer screen it gave me the option of receiving a call back. So I first tried to call the office and the recorder said the wait time was an hour. I then decided to get a call back. I clicked the button and typed in my info and I received a call back within 5 minutes.

The woman was extremely nice and I wish I would of caught names now. She asked what I needed and I told her I needed to change my daughter's address in system because I moved and I need them to send me the 1099 form so I can start my taxes. So she proceeded to ask me the security questions about my daughter and I and when she asked me about an address that I lived at in 2009 I couldn't remember it. She sat on the phone with me while I was looking through paperwork and even trying to give me advice as to where I should look and who I could ask. Finally I said "I will just call back when I find it." So when I found it 10 minutes later I requested another call back as I did before and I received a call about 5 minutes later.

Now this time it was a different woman. She asked me what I needed and I told her the same thing I told the other woman. She then told me I would have to call the 1-800 number and she couldn't help me. I told her that I was just talking to someone from Social Security who called me back and she was helping me with it. She then very rudely told me the same thing and then hung up on me. I'm extremely disappointed. Why would that option even pop up on the screen if I couldn't use it. I really wish I would of caught this woman's name. From now on I will always write down names. I'm not done with complaints either. They call from Washington too.

I received an award letter upon registering at the social security office in my area. I was told and even the award statement I got told me I would receive money in my bank account after December 2015 for December. And it states that on my award, "This is your December payment for December" and even was told that by the agent when I was at social security office. I went down and sat for a couple of hours and finally got a call to come up to the window.

The gentleman there asked me what I was there for and I told him I was missing my January Check that was supposed to be deposited in my bank account. He then asked me for my driver's license and then while he was looking at the computer screen he said, "You should have gotten your payment already," because it shows it in their computer I was paid. He then told me wait for 3 days and then call social security and someone could help me further because they want you to wait 3 business days before you call about a missing payment.

So I left and on the 3rd day, I called social security back to find out where is my missing January payment. I had to wait 30 minutes or get a call back because they were so busy at the moment. So I elected to get a call back in 30 minutes because I didn't want to wait on the phone for half an hour. So I finally received a call back from social security and the lady who answered sounded foreign and was sniffling and sounded like she had a cold. Anyway, she asked me a bunch of questions to verify that I was the person who was associated with the account and afterwards she said, "OK, I will put you on hold for a few and get back to you."

So I waited about 5 minutes then she came back on and asked me for my banking route number. I repeated it to her and she said, "You were paid on December 31st for your January payment." I asked her, "OK where is my December payment?" She said, "You got your payment," and I said my award letter says I will receive Decembers payment for December at the end of the month. And I was told by the agent when I applied the reason I didn't get my social security before Christmas because of the holidays that I would receive my payment at the end of December. So when I called, she said my payment for January was December 31, 2015, because they pay early on January because of the holidays. I told her my award does not say that and I was told my December payment was for December and after explaining she said, "Your payment for January has been paid."

She hung up at that point and my wife was sitting there looking at me saying what did she say. I told her I am not getting any payment for January. They said I had already received it. She looked at my award letter and said that "Your award says you will get your payment stating in December." I said, "Yeah, I know." Here is what my award letter says...

You are entitled to monthly retirement benefits beginning December 2015. You will receive $977.00 for December 2015 around December 31, 2015. After that, you will receive $977.00 on or about the 3rd of each month. That was just the a few lines then it goes on to say more but it's about social security benefits.

Now, what would you think and I was told this is my December payment and I would receive other payments after this on the 3rd of each month. Okay, where is my January payment? I was told I received it and that was the end of discussion. So what does one do when they are ripped off out of their money by the social security administration? I was told my next payment would be February 3rd, 2016. So I left without money because I had to pay my rent and bills for December waiting for my social security. Now I am broke and have to wait another month to get any money.

What kind of system do we have that can just rip people off and you cannot do anything about it? This is my story. Good luck dealing with the social security administration. They are not out to help you but to refuse any money you may have coming to you. From a senior American citizen who has worked all his life and retired to hear that people entering our country get more money and help and receive more than we do with no problems but an American citizen cannot even get justice and get paid for retirement. What a messed up country we live in.

Social Security also was deducting her Medicare payments resulting in double payments before I got it stopped. I have called SSI numerous times to get her refund for those five months. On November 16th I talked to a SSI representative who confirmed the situation and sent a request to the payment center to refund the money and to call back if I didn't hear anything by November 26.

Today I called and spoke to a representative who said she couldn't find that my wife was drawing SSI benefits. I asked for a manager and tried to explain to him, but he said he had been briefed. He said my wife's benefits were coming from Railroad Retirement which is not so. She has an account set up online for her SSI benefits which clearly show she is drawing it and Medicare deductions were made for five months. And no telling how many of my fellow citizens. I had to finally get an attorney who did not do hardly anything and it was on my 3rd attempt. I was given a fully favorable decision from a Federal judge and at first I was awarded both SSI and SSD.

Well, during my two hearings with the Judge, he had ordered me to see 2 different doctors. One was nice but the 2nd was a psychologist whom at first was nice until I told him I had filed a complaint against a psychiatrist over an incident that occurred before I even my brain tumor was found. And I didn't even get a chance to say that, much less explain anything about it which I should not have to do that anyone seeing as it was none of the psychologist business. But he, right before my eyes with no care or restraint, changed from nice to very rude and hateful where he even slapped his leg in frustration because after he asked me the 2nd time if I had ever been arrested, I stated again "no" which is the truth. And to be honest, I have never even had a speeding ticket and also worked for my state's police department for a short period with my 23 years in all working for Georgia State Government.

I am still very upset over this but when I reported this to Social Security staff, they more or less took away my SSI and threatened in 3 years to take away my SSD. This is not the America I grew up believing in. Also, I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder at the young age of 23. I had been on medication all my life since the diagnosis of different types to treat it but Social Security somehow erased this fact from my records. And even though I have papers of my doctor who diagnosed me with the words anxiety/panic disorder on my paperwork that I could not believe I still had from 1993. And the caseworker who interviewed me after the judge's decisions basically told me we don't have any legal rights anymore and they can look into my private bank account and don't need a power of attorney or anything of that matter to do so. I wrote into Congress. I wrote into every part of Social Security I could pull up online. I wrote into the White House. I wrote into Carolyn Colvin in Baltimore. I wrote into EEO Social Security I wrote the Inspector General's. I wrote the Astrue of social security in Baltimore. Out of all of those people no one would help me with social security breaking the law and rules while I am on the program for 5 months now.

I have been writing in stating that in 3 months Social Security took over $700 from me. And when I file for an appeal, they didn't file it. When I filed a reconsideration, they didn't file it. When I send in a waiver, they didn't file it. They did not call me one time in over 5 months. They did not write me with the respond to my reconsiderations or my waiver. I emailed Social Security Administration at Sheila Everett. She is the Commissioner in Dallas Texas for Social Security Administration. She is over the Dallas regional office that filed the charges and why, why lie on someone and have them falsely locked up just because your job allows you to?

I am willing to take a lie detector test that I have never threaten Social Security and I will love the world to listen to my recordings of how they act on the phone. When you call up there never even knew the email work because they never emailed me back so in over 5 months Social Security has taken over $700 from me, 4 times in 6 months they have had my income wrong in the snap system in Texas causing me to get lesser food stamps. They have called other programs in Texas and told them not to help me. They have put over $2,000 in wrong overpayments on my case. They have took my rights to file a hearing. I cannot file a hearing until they file my reconsideration so they are getting away with taking my rights to submit my forms. I also let everyone who l wrote to the Social Security will make up false threats on people just to ban them from Social Security.

I was willing to show the proof to anyone. The only thing happen out of me trying to get help and out of me trying to stop Social Security from dragging someone else from through the program like they are dragging me. Only thing happen is Social Security wrote Homeland Security and said I threaten them on the phone. And all along I was recording the whole phone call there is no threat on there and no one will listen to this so when I told Homeland Security I had the recorded phone call of me and social security then they left my home. They came back two weeks later and said "oh well Social Security want to file harassment charges." Harassment charges because I am asking them can I have my rights and file my reconsiderations, file my appeals, look at my waiver.

Instead of them calling me at least once, or emailing me at least once, or writing me at least once in over 5 months, the only thing they done is had me arrested for harassment. Now I am 42 years old and I do not have a criminal record. And before Social Security abuse their authority with Homeland Security, I had never been arrested before in my life. Social Security had me arrested for checking on my forms after I told Homeland Security they made up of false threat. Nobody cares about that all this is true. I have proof on all of this. Someone needs to be over Social Security. They like a crook without a gun. They're a criminal with a job. Social Security Administration had me drove all the way to another city to be locked up. So I was locked up for the first time in my life off of government misconduct.

Now we need help with this program and we need it bad. I am facing up to six months in jail for this harassment charge that Social Security falsely made up. They also sent me to one of their Dallas judge that they know and anything can happen to me. When I going to court I am praying somebody help me. A lawyer help me with my civil rights because Social Security never filed my forms, they never responded to me to even let me know they were getting my form so how could I be harassing them by checking on them?

The only thing I have is recorded phone calls from Sarah ** from Social Security in Dallas regional office, being very rude over the phone telling me they would do whatever they want to with my case and no one will do anything about it, yelling at me, hanging up, laughing at me, saying "oh I thought you had a lawyer you said you was go get a lawyer", and laughing and hanging up, dialing numbers in my ear, talking to me like I'm a ant on the ground.

We need these people in the Dallas regional office replace any time. We have someone so heartless they don't care about writing false reports to have people arrested. Nothing in the world is that serious. Anytime we have someone willing to do their own rules on their job instead of the rules of the program. They don't need to be at work. They need to be getting mental health because your own personal feelings should not overweight the rules you should be enforcing. And something is going wrong here. They have the license to kill, the license to lock up, the license to take a life. We need to put an end to this.

Everyone who call Social Security Start recording them. We need everyone to speak up on how we are being treated in this world. Sometimes it takes more than one voice. Why are we on this program just to be beat on with no one to run to? I need help. The world need the president to do some about this program and I need prayer everybody. Pray for me. We need to do something about this government misconduct. If you look it up, it's the second reason to falsely be arrested. I thought we have went past this in the world. I was locked up and chained away like the slaves in the 1400.

The Social Security Administration has been taking money from my Social Security account for over a year. They claim it is for a college scholarship. I never received a college scholarship. I was never given notice of any action concerning this. Money just started being taken out of my account. After many phone calls and getting a Tennessee state senator and employee of the U.S. Treasury involved, the money stopped being taken out for a short period of time.

Now it is being taken out again. I have never been provided with any figures - such as how much they claim I owe. I don't know who filed the claim. All I know it was the Dept. of Education somewhere. I don't know what to do or where to go because it seems as if I have contacted everyone only to be told, "We don't handle matters like this." Social Security Administration refuses to talk to me or provide me with any information. Without that - I can't backtrack to discover just where the original problem began. Who started it up again after I got it stopped. I can't believe this is happening in the United States of America. Can anyone give me any advice? Please. I would be most grateful.

How is it that Congress gets an increase, Federal Employees get an increase, even minimum wage earners get an increase but the 65,000,000 on Social Security do not get an increase? As everyone knows costs are going up at an alarming rate, all it takes is a trip to the grocery store (that is if you even go the grocery store) to figure it out. Where's our benefit? My dad died when I was a child. I am paying back $1900 that Social Security stated as an overpayment to me while I was working part time and going to college 37 years ago. I mailed a payment last month, but my account has not been credited. I waited today on hold with Social Security over 22 minutes for a rude representative to tell me that I should have called it in instead of mailing the payment, and my payment would be considered late. I asked her has she ever tried calling her office, she stated that she could get straight through when she calls.

If that is true, then why can't we? The hold time was 45 minutes a few months ago, so I started mailing the check because when you are on your job, no employer will allow you to hold on the phone for over 22 to 45 minutes with Social Security when they are being paying you to work. If you try to call after 4:30, the office to make a payment over the phone is closed. There need to be an automated system that will allow the payment to be made timely and without rude Social Security Representatives. Is this our government at its best? We need help!!

As of now nothing major has happened yet but I am concerned that I have been unable to work a regular job since I unfairly lost my professional teaching job over two years ago due to what I believe but cannot prove was a homophobic new administration that had it out for me and illegally served tenure charges against me because they were based on my health and were false and also were only sanctioned by the Superintendent and were never approved by the Board of Education. The way I was treated has rendered me unable to teach in a regular classroom setting because of my anxiety and paranoia that has arisen from this.

I have received a State of New Jersey Teacher's Disability Pension after much fighting and getting support from State Senator Patrick Sweeney but it is 42% of my original salary and I can no longer continue to live on this alone. I have also applied for Social Security disability and am at the stage of waiting for a hearing which is due to occur sometime early summer. At this point in time unless I default on my bills and sell my car I will not be able to survive on 42% of my initial salary which I receive once a month, which is slightly over $2,500 per month. I know there are others in more dire circumstances than I but I don't think the fact that I cannot work a non-teaching part-time job without possibly losing my social security hearing.

I am disgusted that there aren't other services I can turn to for support. I would not have applied for social security unless I needed it and I think it unfair that now that I am mentally capable of doing limited work and my self-esteem has improved enabling me to do some kind of flexible work that I cannot work without placing my social security hearing in jeopardy. It seems I'd be better off dead than dealing with this crap any longer. I am tired of fighting and being HIV+, it's wearing me out faster than most.

Both times I was given a "re-entry number" and both times I was told that my application would be reviewed and that I could use a certain link to check on the status later. Both times nothing happened, (gave it up to two months) both times I called the SS office and was put on hold for almost half an hour, and both times, the calls were finally answered by not too intelligent sounding people who then told me that there was no record of my application.

The second time, (after the first one told me there was no record) the person told me they did see where I had originally applied months earlier. Is this some kind of scam they are using now instead of the automatic denial of claims? I am 60, and have a debilitating neurological disorder that totally impairs me daily. I have held off applying for benefits despite having lost my employment due to this two years ago, going to doctors and trying to find out what's wrong with me. They denied me again and I have filed an appeal, and every time I have called to check on my status they all say the same thing, they never received anything from me. I am lost like, I know I filed it and sent it to them, but the paperwork goes to another state, VA, and they told me to restart a new application. They know I can't work no more and I've been going thru circles ever since, but they give it to junkies and other people that don't need it than people that do. I waited for 15 minutes just to get someone on the line. Just hearing the terrible holding music made me annoyed. I was greeted by someone and was asked the normal questions. OK. Everything is alright. Then comes the mother maiden name. Here's where things made me extremely angry at how you could hire such impatient customer support. I told her to wait. Then because I told her to wait, she told me that this call is now compromised because she guessed that I was not the one who's calling about the problem.

I give back the phone to my mother and she asked for a Chinese translator. The support said hold on and got one. But wait one second, the call is compromised when I'm translating but isn't when another translator is translating? Anyway, she asked the basic questions again and got through with it with ease. Then out of nowhere she said that we cannot complete this call. My mom tried to answer back but she retorted back saying "I don't care" in an extremely rude and unprofessional way. The translator then translated what the support said. However, this support interrupted her to say "I don't care" once more but with more rudeness added into it. She then hung up. We couldn't say thank you to the translator or anything. Extremely rude and hopefully this person gets fired. Hopefully when we go to the office, we can get someone who's more caring than the one on the phone.

A first name can consist of multiple names. Her first name is "Andressa Cristina". The SSN data entry screens for first name will only allow 16 characters so her name on SSN card comes out at "Andressa Cristin" which is causing major issues with the IRS and DMV since the latter entities see this as two different people.

We were advised on our last visit to SSA office to go to immigration office to resolve. We went to immigration office and they said it was impossible to changes with immigration because Brazilian birth certificates are written with multiple first names. I am currently a payee for a friend who is mentally unable to handle his own finances. Recently we had a problem with a dishonest employee from Concord Mental Health. She coerced him into signing papers which made her his payee. Before he and I were able to get this changed back to me she received one of his checks. She ended up giving him part of his money but the rest of it she claims she returned to social security. I have been able to call and ask them about the money once and was told they never received it from her. Now every time I call social security I get the run around from an extremely rude employee. She begins asking me questions. I have answered both mine and his social security numbers, both of our addresses, both mothers maiden names, both birth dates, both birth locations, both phone numbers.

This should be enough to identify me as his payee. All I want to know is have they received the money from this woman and if so when will he receive it. Because last month I had to pay for his prescriptions, food, toiletries, etc. out of my own money and I'm not wealthy. I can't afford to do this. Plus it is his money and I think the woman from Concord Mental Health stole it. She has flat out accused me of stealing it but if I had stolen it then there would be a record of it being direct deposited into his account and a record of me removing it from his account. There is no such record. I just want to know where his money is. But the ** at social security decides to ask me what is his father's first name? Excuse me? Since when is that a question? How the hell would I know his father's first name?

They have never asked me that question before or since. The next time I called I'm asked not just the state of his birth but the city. And now today I have still answered all the questions correctly but she tells me I'm wrong about his birth date. Funny because the day before when she hung up on me that was the same date I gave her and it was correct. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she refused. Then she hung up on me again.

I'm tired of this. I am his payee and he is missing money. I need to know whether or not social security ever received the money back from Concord Mental Health because if they have not then this woman is lying and she kept it. I don't understand why I am getting the runaround from social security but the employees are rude, unhelpful, and act like they are better than anyone else. They need to be knocked down a peg or two and remember who pays their salaries.

I told them he is responsible for his share of the rent. Since I absorb all other monthly bills they counted that as income and reduced his benefits. Do they take into consideration he is unable to care for himself so I pay 200.00 per week for help for him so I can work?

I seen my neighbors out relaxing in their pool yesterday as I was leaving for work. Their mother is on drugs so she receives ssi along with seven other checks because all her children have mental problems. She receives over 2,000 a month in food stamps, lives in a house that section 8 pays for, and receives help paying her utilities. They sleep all day long and party til the wee hours of the morning. I met her in a convenience store where she was purchasing 5 20.00 lottery tickets and plenty of soda and snacks. Her mother who also lives with her - receives ssi payments also. Both my field rep and I made several phone calls and sent emails, but we met with, it isn't this department. She missed a payment so we garnished her wages. I just wrote and printed a 13-14 page series of events from 2011-2014 that shows the lack of communication within the administration, and why people have to repay money that they probably didn't owe or why they aren't getting what they are entitled to. These people have not a clue! In my case, they took so much that I could not pay any bills. I would pay a credit card bill and then use that credit card to pay another bill, always keeping it maxed out.

My father had helped me out with his cards and I had been paying them. Now I couldn't meet those payments. Everything kept getting worse and worse. Disconnections, owing 2 bills or more on everything and trying to at least pay the past due, six months behind in lot and mobile home payments. Then I lost my job in November, with all of this on my shoulders. Finally, in March I had to file a bankruptcy. I had to surrender my vehicles. But I could not put a couple of things in that were in arrears. I am collecting unemployment and my husband is on disability. We cannot get caught up. We have had to cancel doctor appointments due to lack of the co-pay and have gone without medication for the same reason. We are still on the verge of being homeless. Spouse has terminal illness and we are starting hospice but not set up yet today. We have been to our local SSA office twice for benefits for our children, as they will receive a small amount through his benefit. (He recently qualified.) Brought 2 originals and 1 copy of birth certificate last time but were told they need originals for all 3 at the same time. No problem, I understand that. I had to get a new original of the last one and with everything we're dealing with, it has taken me a while. We were told that when one of us comes back, just to let someone know we are only turning in birth certificates, so it should not be as long of a wait as the last 2 times.

When I arrived today there were several employees working, but 1 employee sitting at her window typing. I slowly approached, after taking a number, and let her know I had original certificates and was told I would not have to wait. She tells me that everybody waits every time. Unfortunately I did not have that kind of time to wait today, as my husband is having a bad week; in a lot of pain and I didn't feel good about being gone for long. (I had to leave him alone to do this. No one else was available to stay with him but this was on his list of loose ends and because of his loss of income he has been worried about it. He is worried about making sure everything is in place, even though he shouldn't be thinking about that now with all the pain and other things he's enduring.)

Anyways, I explained to the representative that I left him at home and was hoping the info I had been given last time was accurate. I made the mistake of asking if she was certain. I could have handled her giving me a firm yes. I was willing to try coming back another time, even though he would not have had the peace of knowing it was taken care of. I could have handled that. But what upset me was that she said, "look, everybody here has something. And they are all waiting patiently. Do you think you are more important than them? It's all in the way you look at it. You decide. No, everyone is the same here."

Now, I'm a glass half-full kind of person and that's what has gotten me this far without cracking. I have to be strong right now. But that was too much for me today as I am worn down too. Had a good cry in my car before leaving. Just bad timing, I guess. I know they deal with impatient people all the time but that just wasn't my intention. A little more sensitivity to the humbling and painful end-of-life situation we are dealing with would have been nice today, that's all. Probably not a consumer affairs issue but I wanted to put it out there. Fortunately the 2 employees that helped us previously had been compassionate, with my husband present but struggling.

My mom died late Oct. of that year and I was ill-equipped to carry out the most basic of life's necessities and did not report it lost. It has been 47 days since my claim form was scanned into your system yet I am told that the clock doesn't start ticking so to speak as far as ssa is concerned until my local office received a call from an agent I spoke with.

I've called the Dept. of Treasury - they say I should have received my replacement check by now. This entire ordeal has been mishandled at the very least and most frustrating is I've caught several ssa reps in a blatant lie. Either that or they do not know that check replacement policy at all as was the case with Mr. ** in my field office on Valencia St. I don't understand why the check replacement wasn't started on the first of April when it was scanned in. I had problem earlier with Social Security whereby they stated my daughter was not a citizen even though she was adopted from S. Korea by my deceased wife and myself in 1996. My daughter was granted citizenship papers in 2000 at which time we went to a swearing in ceremony at immigration HQ in NYC. My deceased wife kept all the papers. I have moved several times and the citizenship papers are gone. My daughter has a normal SS card and number and was collecting SS Death benefits from my wife since 2003.

My daughter just turned 19 and was looking to get a job and applying to several colleges for the fall 2015. When she applied for a job, the company wanted to see her SS Card, so we went to our local SS office to apply for a new card (which is normal). We were told she was not a citizen, which shocked us. They wanted to see her citizenship papers to issue her a new card. Since both papers were lost, we had to request a replacement. We paid $345 in February to obtain the replacement documents. Now my daughter applied to a dozen colleges and got into all of them. She had to file FASFA forms to receive college loans, etc. SS told FASFA she was not a citizen and therefore she could not obtain student loans.

USCIS has a way to expedite the records since we were told it will take 6 months to obtain them normally. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY HER WAY THROUGH COLLEGE. In fact, I earned poverty level money last year. I requested that they expedite the records since she will not be able to get a job and go to college without her SS card. USCIS and SS are blaming each other, and USCIS on two separate occasions said although the situation appears serious they have to deny the request, since it is not a dire circumstance. I have now gotten my Congressman involved. There is so much incompetency in the government and if a politician's daughter had my daughter's problem they would think it is a dire circumstance. That is one of the reasons why they have an "expedited" case.

In August 2015 I called to make a change to SSI. I ended up losing a good chunk of my ssi from Dec 2014 until February 2015 because I wasn't paying rent. Got it back in March 2015. Moved into my own place March 2015, with my daughter as a roommate splitting bills 50/50 - my rent portion is $350, my utilities are 150$, wifi $60, storage $55, & that's not including $ for my doctors or prescriptions I'm on & have to have. Reported that change after the sixth of March. Went to report the change to workforce services because I also receive their assistance & ssi said my benefits were going to be cancelled because I hadn't reported my address change, which I found odd, because I did report it.

So I went home & called ssi & the lady I spoke with from Ogden Utah said that wasn't true & blamed it onto workforce services. She assured me my address was in there correctly & that my case was absolutely fine & I would receive my full benefits for April 2015, so I got off the phone with her feeling like everything was resolved. 10-15 minutes later I receive a phone call from ssi, a lady saying she's my caseworker, the same one that messed my case up before. She seems to take great pride in messing with my case, is extremely rude & arrogant to me, yes I've been rude right back. She is able to mess with my case in such a way that it's legal. So I don't like this lady, she has caused me nothing but hardship & homelessness since last year & seems to enjoy doing it, she destroyed the holidays for us this last year.

When she got on the phone with me she ripped me a new one, like she did the last time we spoke in December 2014 while my son & I were staying in a women's shelter, about how I was NOT supposed to call the 1800# to report changes to my case, that I am supposed to call her directly. Even though I've never heard of this woman prior to all of this. She says her name and direct extension are on each of my ssi letters. I've looked at my letters since she's told me this & can tell you than her name or extension has never once been on any of my letters. So today I finally got her name & her extension if I have to reach her again (which honestly now I fear doing, because reporting changes has only hurt my son & I financially). She then asked me if I had a roommate, which I do, I couldn't afford this place if I didn't (couldn't continue being homeless to wait for housing to kick in).

My roommate is my daughter who's on welfare, with three of her own children to support, so believe me, not a penny of her money goes towards me. We split the bills - part are hers, part are mine. The case worker took all of my daughter's & her children's personal information & my son's. She assured me she wouldn't be messing with my case, that I wouldn't be losing my income again, that I wouldn't end up homeless again because of her. I hang up again feeling like things were resolved. Then I receive a letter & am now losing the same amount of money again around $250 for April 2015 & May 2015, cause it will take them another two months to work out this new problem - that's just how ssi is apparently.

I call Ogden Utah ssi again today & at first they tell me it's because of my daughter's income that I'm losing this $, then they change their minds and tell me it's because I reported this change after the sixth of this month & so it will take two months for them to get it worked out & that they don't have to pay me this money back when they do work it out. They don't care that I no longer have the $ I need to pay my rent & that by them doing this is going to make my son & I homeless yet again..... The reason I feel like I'm being harassed, and I know this is going to sound paranoid, but I think it's my sister's ex husband's new wife that is causing these problems for me and I would like her investigated. Her name is **, she works for workforce Services. If it isn't her directly, it's someone she knows. I will get to the bottom of this if I have to continue to file complaints all accross this country until I have it investigated & her investigated.

It's funny to me that I've been on ssi since 2004, reported the same changes at different times & never had these problems until now. This ** has also messed with my sister's case. It was never proven because my sister never pursued her complaints. I however intend to. My sister's boys were adopted by this woman & before the adoption went through she had been bragging to my sister's sons about how she was purposely messing with my sister's case. I've been told that she would work in the same building my case goes through. It wouldn't be too far fetched for her to sit at other people's cubicles to make changes to my case, or have her friend do it for her, she's done it before (just because she's a state worker doesn't make her immune to using her job as a weapon to hurt people, she got away with it with my sister, so now she has a God complex).

Because believe me, this caseworker of mine has been anything but friendly to me.... These are not $ changes. First time was an address change & so was the second time. I feel like I'm being harassed & discriminated against & those are the only theories I can come up with as to why. The first income decrease made me & my 15 year old son homeless. I fear this will happen again this time because now I won't have the money I need to pay my rent. Anytime I've reported a changes in my address prior to August 2015 I have never had these problems. Now I feel like I'm under a microscope. If you want more details please have someone contact me. It's difficult for me to type it all out. Thanks.

The Social Security Administration is the most abusive part of the government after the military enslavers. I filed for retirement benefits in 2008 at the earliest possible time. About 1 and 1/2 year later the Riverside, CA office found that they had made a supposed error in computing my retirement benefits payments because I had earned substantial income from STRS the California Teachers Retirement System. They then decided that I had been overpaid some $6841 in seventeen months due to the formula in 42 USC 404 (b) which states that half of the pension you receive from another non-social security collected employer at the time of filing must be deducted from the amount computed as your social security benefit amount. Since my alternative pension was about $600 per month, the deduction should have been about $300 which running over the 17 months adds up to only $5100 of supposed overpayment.

How did they come up with $6841 I asked hundreds of times over about two and 1/2 more years? No one could answer. It was just a stall and I was fed up. Finally, they referred me to a technician on the staff who directed me to 42 U.S.C. 404 (b). When I read that statute I was really livid. As stated above it says that my deduction for STRS should be that which was earned by me at the time of applying. Since I was still working at the time I was applying in 2008, my earnings exceeded slightly the cap on my receiving any pension benefits from STRS. That is right.

My benefit amount from STRS was $0.00. Even if we use the SSA method of deducting $300 per month from my benefits, they continued their underpayment of benefits until 2014 at a calculated payback of some $15,000 on an overpayment that was alleged at $6841. That means that SSA owed me more than $9,000 in underpayment under their own formula. But the law says minus half of the eligible benefits at the time, that was $0.00, the underpayment using that value instead of $300 in the formula come to more than $27,000. I was calling them crooks and incompetent over the telephone. They banned me from all of their offices. No matter, they are still crooked and incompetent. Now, I have to file a lawsuit after taking the matter to all levels of appeal and it being found by their own judges that I am in no way at fault.

The woman representative, who was nice, could not get my information to "take" in their system even though I am obviously in their system.

After 22 minutes....according to my cell phone clock...she said she couldn't make it work and said she'd have to go to tech support. She asked if she could put me on hold. I said "Yes" but explained that I was going into a meeting but would have my phone on during the meeting. I asked if she could call me back and she said that wasn't possible. I had my speaker on during the meeting listening to the, in my opinion, terrible music. When my cell phone clock read 56.32 minutes....I finally gave up. So, now I have two problems: (1) trying to make an appointment to talk to someone face to face and (2) trying to find out why our benefits were cut.

I had a hearing in baton rouge la in february of 2014. After being denied ssi for the second time in 4 years, I moved back home to detroit michigan to live with my elderly mom. I applied for michigan ssi in october of 2014. It is now february and my case is still pending! I called the ssa 800 number and was told my ssi case was in louisiana! How in the heck did an application filed in detroit michigan end up in louisiana I will never know, but in light of all this ssa corruption, lies and drama I have to have cervical and lumbar surgery as soon as the doctor can get me in. In case anyone was wondering, I worked and paid taxes from 17 years old to 31 years old. The ssa played around until my work credits expired so now I only qualify for ssi. By the way I went to prison for 10 years for a murder which the person died in front of my face, and yet I keep getting denied even ssi. If I get food stamps and medicaid.

I was denied social security disability benefits for two years after my original application. Hired an attorney and the SSD judge granted me temporary benefits for 7 years. I was to be back paid for the two years from original application. However, in the time frame from my original application and being granted benefits, I lost my home, my vehicle, my children and I had to move in with family and I could not get employment and did not receive child support. Bank and credit card accounts were closed on.

So, when the social security disability office paid my back pay, it went to the credit union that had closed my accounts and repossessed my cars. The credit union was not willing to give me the social security money that was sent to them for the back pay. I fought the credit union but had no other option but to move on. After a short period of time and receiving monthly benefits for my disability and benefits for my two dependent children under 18, I was able to get the surgeries and rehab needed to get back on my feet literally and get back to work.

I called the toll free number on my packet that instructed me to report that I had returned to work after 6 months. I was told that there was some kind of 3 month extension and to call back in 3 months. I called back in June because my company was being sold to another company and wanted to get verification if the trial work period started over. I was told the trial period did not start over. I called the ssda back in September to report that I was still working for the same company. The man took all my work information and then told me there was a 2 month grace period for the ssda to reconsider my benefits.

I received a letter in the mail from the ssda saying that we have recently received information that you have returned to work and there was a report showing works dates and salary. The information was wrong. It showed that I had went to work in March instead of January and the hourly amount was lower than what I reported on my phone call in September. I made the corrections and sent it back to the address provided. I did not receive a corrected sheet back. I continued to receive benefits for about 6 months before receiving a letter saying my benefits were being reduced. Then my benefits were reduced.

My benefits were reduced again when my daughter turned 18. I was told by the ssda that I could receive an extension if she was enrolled in college full time. She was at the time and I sent in to the ssda copies of her registration and schedule. I did not however receive benefits for her. I continued to receive benefits on me and my son. I contacted my case worker when I changed jobs and lost jobs.

I filed my yearly taxes including the ss benefits and some years had to pay in to cover the ss benefits. I also contributed to ss during my employment. In 2011 I received my first letter from Kansas alleging that I was overpaid and was going to have to pay back some the ss benefits. I called my case worker. She did not know what I was talking about and did not have those letters in her records and asked me to send them to her. I did.

She contacted me stating the letters were incorrect and that I was in fact still eligible for benefits. I believed her when she said it was a mistake and moved on. Until I received another letter stating that I owed more money. In tears and stressed to the max I called the number on the letter and no one was willing to explain to me what was going on. So, I called my local case worker again. Again, was told that was a mistake and that I was still eligible for benefits. I could not take the chance that no one in ssda cared one bit for my well being or what was right.

I begged her to stop sending me benefits. I cried and pleaded with her that I could not pay that money back and should not have to. I told her about all the letters I was getting from Delaware and Kansas that did not say the same thing and then she was saying something different from both all the letters. I told her I could not handle the stress and was actually getting sick from the stress of possibly having to pay back thousands of dollars. She finally agreed to stop the benefits. She said she would put them on hold in case I changed my mind!

So now, I continue to get letters telling me that I was not eligible for benefits since 2008 but my case worker telling me in 2011 that I am still eligible for benefits. I stopped using any and all benefits immediately. Unfortunately for me it was too late. I had to borrow money from family to pay bills and hire an attorney to fight the overpayment case against me. I was nervous when my attorney said that the judge should like me because I was Republican. Unfortunately, the judge did not like my attorney because he was a democrat. The judge did not even look at me or give me the opportunity to tell what actually happened.

I have several letters from over several years from different ssda offices in Delaware, Kansas, and Virginia. None of them say the same thing. The judge decided I owed all the money back. I appealed of course and the appeals court found in my case that the judge’s decision was not supported by substantial evidence and there is an error of law. The appeals court reduced the amount for me to pay back in half still leaving me a balance to pay of 24,109.40. That was October 3, 2014.

I appealed that decision and requested an appearance in person to add exhibits and additional information the judge would not hear. I was denied and appealed that again. I have to date received three more letters from Kansas. Two in December 2014 telling me to pay the ssa 52,304.90 by 1.3.2015. Then another letter in January telling me to pay 52,304.90 by 2.3.2015. I called the ssa at 800.772.1213 to get information on how and where to file a complaint against the ssda.

I was on hold for one hour and four minutes. The lady who answered my call, after getting my information, started saying that I owed the money. When I told her that I had a letter saying I didn’t, she just said that they didn’t have that letter and I needed to pay the money. I told her this is why I wanted to file a complaint. I have received several letters over the past years from different offices all contradicting each other and when I call no one knows what the other office is doing and expects me to know what is going on based on their letter alone.

She told me I could not file a complaint because they did not have the letter from the Virginia office overturning the letters from the Kansas office. I am so upset. She told me that I needed to take that letter to my local ss office. But as of now I needed to pay 52,304.90. Then hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor. Someone PLEASE HELP!

I am speaking on my wife's behalf as she is very distraught at the moment. For Years now, she has been unable to get a job and help contribute to our day to day life expenses and despite my telling her not to, she feels horribly guilty. Her identity is either stolen, or there is a "problem" (which NO ONE will ever tell) with her Social. She has called every number available to call, filed a police report and visited the Social Security office in Murray, Utah. Everything just goes in circles.

This time upon visiting the social security office, she was Very hopeful that they might be able to tell her at least something as to what is going on or help in some sort of manner. But after a 3 hour standing wait, she is given a pamphlet with numbers to call that she had already gotten online and told to call them. In reply, she states that she has already done that and called every number on there with absolutely no help. They then recommend filing a police report. She then explains that she has already done that. Then they tell her to just, "Get a lawyer", which is something we cannot afford. We've been around this same loop over and over again and this is something I can NOT understand!

If there is a problem with her Social, whether it be identity theft or not (We're assuming identity theft as her medical records, among many others, were stolen from the University of Utah many years prior), WHY can't they HELP!?! It's a social security problem and they're the social security office!! She is the victim here, her life has been virtually ruined in her mind as she badly wants to work to help our financial issues. Can they not see that a social security number is being used by more than one person??? When there is a Social being used by more than one person, why do they not pursue the problem?

She feels like she is being treated like a criminal when in reality she is the victim! The social security office is completely incompetent and needs to fix this. I feel that she needs not only FULL resolution to this problem, which she is a victim of, but some serious compensation for all of those years she has been stuck at home wanting to work. Also, any advice on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

A person called Direct Express saying they were me and requested my direct deposit be changed to a debit card. The information was verified with Social Security and method of deposit changed. The person called Direct Express back and said I had a new address to mail the debit card to. The card was mailed to an address in Florida (I live in Alaska) and the money withdrawn the same day it was deposited. Direct Express has no record of what information was given to make this change (no notes, no recorded call, nothing) so I don't feel comfortable they did their due diligence in information gathering. They told me they ask for name, address and social security number and "maybe other" information but they CAN NOT tell me what information they received in my case.

Secondly and most importantly, they changed the mailing address to Florida without a CONFIRMATION from Social Security. They had an "on hold" purchase for this debit card for a purchase from Microsoft for $59.99 when I called so I told them not to approve it and they said I had to let the charge go through then call back to dispute it. When I called back to dispute (as they requested) I was told that I shouldn't have been told that. The charge went through with them knowing the debit card was issued to someone else using my identity. On this same call (my second) they told me my claim was denied, they had done nothing wrong. When I asked how I could get my money back they said to contact the owners of the ATM machine used. When I said "Really!!" they said the police would get my deposit back.

A week later I received a pack of paperwork from them to fill out regarding fraud so I called and asked "If my claim was denied do I still need to send in this paperwork." I was told they cannot talk to me or answer any questions. I asked to speak to someone in their fraud department and after being put on hold, I was told they couldn't/wouldn't talk to me. This company has a contract to issue debit cards for our government and I think they need their feet held to the fire for documentation, policy and customer service. If a business owner has a complaint filed against them by the BBB or the Attorney General they sure better have some notes and documentation to back up their side of the issue so why shouldn't this business.

This is crazy how SSI works. I have had full legal and sole custody of my daughter for 14 yrs now and am her payee through her father's SSI. I take care of her. Raised her. I have a lifetime restraining order on this man for physical and emotional abuse. Everything. She spent a couple nights at his house and he brain washed her to go to SSI and tell them to stop me as a payee and to have him be it. That's how sick this man is!!! And the messed up thing is that SSI did. Crazy. I immediately called after I received the letter in the mail and questioned my daughter and she said her dad made her do it. Can't SSI see through things like that?? See the abuse he is doing to my poor baby girl. I need to keep her away from him because obviously he hasn't changed his maliciousness and using my baby to do that. Sick sick sick.

Anyways I called SSI and said I have full custody. She lives with me and has for all these years. How can they just have someone walk in and change something like that. The guy said there isn't anything he could do. I asked for fax number to send the worker my legal document in which I did stating I have full custody and the worker never got back to me so I called back next day and the guy hung up on me so rudely so I called right back and got the same man in which was so very rude and said there's nothing I can do to change it. I'm devastated by the system of the SSI. So now the money to take care of my daughter is going to an evil man that should not get a thing as he has never helped me to take care of her to this day. Sickening and apparently doesn't care now that it's his daughter that will be suffering without proper necessities for me to raise her. Terrible but that's the SSI system. Beware of this happening to you cause it can in a blink of a light.

I received a letter back in Late April-Mid May stating that SSA had underpaid me benefits when I was reinstated in April of this year after being suspended for 7 months after my Legal Advocate disproved 2 complaints made against me for fraud. The underpayment should've been made in April or even May. When that didn't happen, I and my Advocate figured October, as it'd be 6 Months since my first check back. October comes, I call the local SSA Office, and they tell me to call back if I don't get it in November and that it's noted I call and that my Case Worker would get a message that I'd called about it. Nice! November comes, and no, no underpayment or retro.

I went to the local Field Office on November 7th, and the Case Worker I talked to did a print up, had a Case Manager/Office Manager sign it, and tell me that there's in fact an underpayment due to me, and that she had to give said form to my Case Worker, because it's she who can release those funds. She tells me that SSA had up to 30 days to pay it to me. I'm scared they're gonna screw me out of this money, as I get my December SSI Check this coming Monday.

I was discriminated with social security in 2006 when I should of had a lawsuit. I was given something in my vein and I was pregnant. I was told MRSA but who knows. I got no lawsuit in NY. I also got unfounded child abuser that I was unaware of until recently where I was labeled bipolar. The child was taken because I was going to do something because I was a single mother. All lies! Coerced to Florida, I got ssdi. I had a life threatening illness. Now I wrote up with social security one time what my goal was if I was going to do trial to work. They used that against me.

In 2012 when I was going to attempt to do trial to work, I had the review. So-called friends adamant of me, not wanting a car, using my emotions to coerce in a retirement problems for me and not for them. I had a psychiatrist in Pasco county who was botoxed tell me that my benefits were going to continue. However he lied and social security gave me an over-payment over 10 grand.

I went to a woman administrative hearing judge who actually was using anything I say to get me. For instance, knew I had a P.O box so she told me two weeks for an answer. That was in November of 2013. Then decides she needs more information and has me see a psychiatrist December 23, 2013. I was told two weeks. I was running back and forth to the post office. The judge was trying to make me look postal. Well I called the toll free social security and they would tell me a month here. Then I would call again and a month here. July 3, 2014 I was given a denial. This judge ran me out of my savings. She left me broke. Also she misrepresented my character assuming I was on pot and cocaine. I guess she wanted me 400 pounds to be disabled. All fabricated lies. I knew lawyers on drugs so I do not know where she was coming from with these conclusions.

The last lawyer made copies of this paperwork did not take this case again and kept the paperwork. Talking of getting furniture delivered in Pasco county. In Pasco county I want no one having false information. A bunch of using people. Now I got a lawyer, the lawyer made a new claim. The adjudicator in Florida was also playing a role of complete control problems. I was given work history forms, functional forms, medical forms, medical disclosure forms. I filled all these forms in a timely manner, 10 days deadline. The adjudicator claims he never got the work history forms which is a great deal of forms.

I went to a small post office in Hudson. In fact the first time I mailed the forms the lady helped me fit them in the small envelope. Since I am living day to day. The second time I filled out these timely forms. I fit them in the small envelope alone. Then I got on the phone with the adjudicator, a letter was sent to me for additional information. He stated he never received any of the forms and wanted me to do them all over again, all of them. I told him I live day to day, he stated the deadline was tomorrow. Well I was not going to have the money that soon. I was ran out of my money. He lied. Then he goes to say he needed the functional reports. First he stated all of them and wanted me to fax all the paperwork which was many, many pages to him. Where was I going to get the money? He asked me about additional issues. I told him about getting a newspaper wrapper wrapped around my ankles running across the highway. Collar bone etc.

I have bipolar paperwork from NY. I have a lump on my head that the general dr knew about. There was chiropractic information. Trying to figure out where he received no information. He laughed when I lost my child and was blackballed and I told him it was not funny. I can make a decision at anytime. I told him to make a decision so he did it before thanksgiving. The due date was December 25 to get the denial. I think there is a cultural issue. Catholic and Jewish. I am guessing anti-Semitic. I owe a college loan, I have to pay them back, something is wrong. To continue an appeal is really a question about having rights to trial to work right, not to be used and controlled.

It was granted because they needed more medical records. But, to my surprise it was not granted because they only used medical records prior to the appeal. It goes like this the decision was made for my medical records dated 8-4-2014, my hearing was 8-13-2014, doctor apt 8-14-2014 not continue for more medical records. And they denied my appeal. I have sat in a lobby listening to our general public and the manipulation that they scheme. Maybe take a day for the heck of it and just listen to folks around you, it's a joke! I have had a great experience with my local office, my caseworker is a wonderful gentleman and very compassionate when my parents both passed. I have dealt with them for years.

My mom was a cancer victim and of course was denied the first time, but as my caseworker told me, READ why she was denied, it was no fault of SSA. It accurately told me my mother's DOCTOR did not submit the reports they requested. Once I found that out by reading the notice, I went and requested her records myself, filed my appeal and submitted the report myself as evidence. I had no issues, she was approved.

People over and over told me get a attorney. What for? The attorney does Nothing on your behalf unless you go to a hearing, then they appear to the judge, so why would I give him money for doing nothing? I have listened to so many stories sitting in their lobby, it was mind blowing! People getting SSI not reporting wages, or married and not telling, not paying bills and living for free, work under the table and sooooo much more. I wish Congress would really evaluate that program, seriously! And we wonder why our country has no money, go figure!

I am very fortunate to never have any issues with them. I know what they go through daily can't be too pleasant and I commend them for what they do! I know I could never do that work, I don't think I would have the patience to deal with our public who come in with their hand out because they're too lazy to work. Yes, I said lazy! Don't twist this up, there are some who need that SSI because maybe they never got the option to work, or maybe couldn't work. I know there are some that truly deserve it and in the same note, there are many who do not. I have read through several of these postings and I find it amazing that you worked but you're disabled? Seriously? And now you're mad that you're overpaid? That makes no sense at all!

I have a mental disable Son who are being charged for over payments for money that SSA received and signed the check for; I have copy of the check and have tried to bring this matter to a close. This office will not cooperate. My Son has rent to pay and light and gas bills. Yet they want to take $75.22 out of his check and make him pay for the money they have received. My son was in the hospital for three years and as soon as he return home. This local office claims he owed them money. This is not true. How can these people do this to a mental person? I have done what I suppose to do, even ask them to put a copy of the check in his record. I need these people to know They are wrong.

My son has Autism and he had been receiving his check up till I got married. He was denied due to my husband (as of 6/20/14) having a truck that he owns. My husband owns a 2001 truck that has over 200 thousands miles on it and it's his farm truck that he uses to take trash off in and get hay in for his horses. I depend on my son's check for everything for my son. It was his birthday on the 13th of August and then school started today, the 19th. There were hardly any money to support these events. I am so angry. How can they just up and cut something out just like that! My husband is on disability too. He gets paid once a month to pay the bills and there is hardly anything left.

My son's dad has not supported him or my daughter over the past 4 to 5 years or so. He doesn't call them or see them. My husband has been helping me with my children ever since. My husband is so stressed and me too. He is trying to adopt them now so that maybe they can draw off his account but that can take months or a year. What am I suppose to do in the meantime? I am a stay at home mom. I sometimes clean house and do hair on the side to help ends meet. It has been very stressful on me so bad that I had to go on nerve pills and I have anxiety issues the older I get. I think this is not far to my son and his family!
