My daughter was scammed on a purchase of a vehicle, when the charges were disputed thru Chime, they denied the dispute while we were in the middle of sending the documents including the police report in for the investigation 10 minutes after the dispute was filed. I sent money to my son in law thru chime, it has been over a week, my son in law cannot retrieve the money thru the link chime sent to his phone, the money has not been placed back in my account, and I was informed it was held for 14 days before they supposedly would refund it to my account if my son in law did not claim it.

I opened a Chime account for my just turned 18 year old because I read the app is easy to use and it's recommended as being "BEST OF" from many sites. MISTAKE. There is no mobile check deposit unless you have regular direct deposit from a corporate source, and they do not disclose this in FAQs. Also no live customer service that I could find, only very limited recorded prompts. No deposits through ATMs, and cash you can only deposit by giving it to a Walgreens checker. WHAT?? No way I'm trusting that. Since we can't figure out how to deposit his irregular checks and cash from multiple odd jobs, this isn't going to work for us. Hope it's easier to close than it was to open.

Don'tttt do it...Don't you dare do it!! If you haven't already signed up keep moving. Chime is indeed a crime. I went on vacation recently, rented a car and placed a deposit of $700 plus the cost of the vehicle. When I returned the car 8 days later the reps told me once the vehicle was accessed for damages and tickets they would release the deposit. A week goes by I noticed my $700 is still pending in my account. I reached out to the rental agency and they told me they cleared and released the deposit the very next day after I returned the vehicle. I then contacted Chime they told me there is a 30-day hold. It's a wrap. Don't bother with Chime.

I got a police report and in the police report they investigated it and they are still denying my money back on my account because my account was hacked and it's not a little bit of money. It's a few thousand. I don't understand how the police here where I live can say it's a faults transaction but they can they credited 800$ out of 4092.00. Funny. I will never ever in my life go through them. I am closing out my account. They can't even tell me how they investigated it. It's dumb and I've been so nice and patient. They are beyond the worse bank or credit card company I have ever went through

Chime lacks any security features to prevent fraud and they have no regard for victims either. They rely on their customer service number to handle everything. There is no method to report fraud online or forward an email. Transactions do not include features normally meant to protect customers (e.g. "This is not me") or the integrity of the banking process. Banks rely on proper Identity Management for securing transactions but Chime is content with customers carrying this burden. It should be criminal for a bank to operate this way and skirt federal laws meant to protect consumers.

Back on January 22, 2024 I rented a vehicle and paid a $300 Deposit. When I returned the Vehicle February 6, 2024 a pending Transaction from the Rental Service appeared on my Chime Credit Builder account. It normally take 2-3 days to be available. However, this time it conveniently disappeared, along with the pending information that was visible.

This same situation happened 2 weeks prior and first thought my account got hacked, turns out not true. Chime Member Services admitted the money was received, but could not credit my account because it became "expired" no longer available, as explained by the Supervisors and other staff. I tried to file a dispute within their company, and was told I could not and it was based on Member Services. They pretty much told me my money was gone and they could not give it back. However, for several days they tried blaming the rental company, and their Corporate Office as happy to defend and explain their actions, which made sense.

When I asked for Chimes Corporate Office I was told I could not speak to anyone other than Member Services. I spent several days trying to get my refund credited to my account which they admitted was there, but was unsuccessful. So basically they have gotten away with a total of $600. Currently, I have another deposit pending from a new rental, but thank God the rental company said they can apply to another card. If that option was not available then they would be getting away with $900.

Please destroy and close your account with them if you have one because it's just a matter of time before your funds start disappearing from your account, and I guarantee you will get no help! Also, conveniently the both transactions have been removed from my Chime App Statement!! I have other friends who stated they are missing money now and Chime is not giving it back and trying to resolve the issue.

Chime held a payroll deposit for 9 days! An amount smaller for same company was released within 2 days. Now they are promoting some contest if you deposit your refund check. DON’T DO IT, they are going to hold your funds for over 10 days. They have their own rules that DO NOT apply to the rules of the FDIC of NCUA. Also, Chime will give you a heads up that a deposit is on its way to your account (in about 3 days) but will tell you they don’t holds refunds and that they are deposited immediately…Well, how would they get that amount and information if they haven’t received it yet? Chime is a rip off. When you make a transaction for Walmart, it comes up as Walmart not the address of Walmart. I called Walmart and they had NO record of the 2 transactions charged to my account. This bank is targeting people who has little to no interest of their money, probably the ones who can’t really count, and the ones who is on low/fixed income!

A scammer on Craigslist wanted me to send them money through Venmo, PayPal, Zelle and finally Chime. I reported to each of these institutions the accounts that the scammer provided me. I kept pretending with the scammer that I was having problems sending payment so the scammer kept providing me with additional accounts where I could send payment. When reporting the suspected scammer accounts, each institution said they would look into the accounts used by the scammer except for Chime. I kept going back and forth with the Chime customer support where no matter how many times I explained the situation, they just kept responding with findings about my own account. They never said that they would or would not look into the suspected scammer's account.

As a result of simply trying to report this account, they ended up closing MY Chime account. It was truly bizarre. Do they have some policy that says they won't look into an individual's account based on an accusation from some random person like me? I don't know. They never acknowledged what I asked them to look into. All I was trying to do was do a "good deed" by hopefully shutting down the scammer's accounts but Chime cracked down on me instead. When I first reported the issue, I didn't even have a Chime account. I only created one because when I first made the report of the suspected scammer's account they responded saying that they couldn't locate my account and requested that I resend the report using the email address associated with my Chime account. From that point on, they would only tell me things about the status of my account for some weird reason.

This is the worst of the worst customer service of any financial institution I have ever seen. If I could rate this with negative stars it would be at least NEGATIVE 5. I have called multiple times, spoken to several support agents and supervisors. I have had to answer the same questions over and over. It seems like their ticketing system and/or their CRM and/or their employees do not have the ability to document my answers so the next agent doesn't have to repeat the same questions.

My wife has a Chime account and suggested I sign up. I signed up 10 minutes before she sent me the referral link. We immediately called support and they assured us it was not a problem, and instructed me to continue with the direct deposit and card activation and when that was completed they could manually link the accounts for the referral bonus. So I directed my employer to make a $200 deposit out of my payroll to Chime and that transaction went through. I also activated the debit card when it arrived. At this point I was just trying out the service.

I called back, as the agent instructed, to get our accounts linked, as I had completed all the requirements. The problem, I was told, was that the deposit was not an ACH transaction. I knew that it was, but Chime agents apparently don't have the capability to see that. They can only see what the "system" tells them, and the "system" incorrectly flagged that transaction as not qualifying for the referral program, when in fact it does qualify.

From their web page https://www.chime.com/invite-friends-terms-and-conditions-100-evergreen-august-2021/?embedded=true "A Qualifying Direct Deposit is a deposit of $200.00 or more by Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) that comes from your employer". I then procured the ACH transaction details from my employer's bank, which I attached to the support ticket.

The supervisor I spoke with on Oct 31 agreed the system incorrectly flagged the transaction and it was in fact a qualifying ACH deposit. She promised she could take care of it and I would receive email confirmation "shortly". That email never came, so I called again Nov 1, jumped through the initial agent hoops again, and finally got a supervisor. He said he couldn't help me, so I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said sure and transferred me. At this point, I thought I had been escalated and reached a supervisor of supervisors, "Bruce".

So I do the same dog and pony show with supervisor "Bruce", answering the same questions, and at the end of the long and useless conversation, he tells me there is nothing he can do. He's not a supervisor of supervisors. The previous supervisor simply transferred me to a peer. "Bruce" then tells me there is no one else that can help. He is the highest level of escalation that exists. There is no one in charge of the supervisors. Only "the system". The "system" is the real boss and makes the final decision. There is no human in charge and the "system" cannot be overridden or corrected. The "system" has final authority. Right. He also said there was nothing he could do about linking our accounts, contrary to all the other agents and supervisors before him. At least he was honest, I guess.

So now I'm wondering, if Chime cannot 1) handle customer support any better than this and 2) if Chime cannot honor their own terms of a promotion, why should I trust them with a lot more money? Why should I deposit my entire paycheck into a system that has such simple, yet ostensibly uncorrectable problems and such poor customer support? I would be crazy to let Chime handle my money.

I've already wasted too much time on this, but I give them one more chance to resolve the issue, 3 strikes and all that, and I tell them as much. I was told this morning that "the team" was working on it and would have it resolved by end of day. That didn't happen. I jumped on chat support to check it. Round and round we go. I'm done. Luckily I found this out without losing more than $92 (assuming they didn't really move it out to my real bank - if that transfer actually goes through I will have lost nothing but time). I advised my wife to stop putting her money there and get it all out. I'll be reporting then to BBB and also letting Stride Bank, their backer, know what's what. Maybe they already know. Maybe this whole thing is a scam.

How can it be investigated so quickly. I DID NOT MAKE THIS PURCHASE! They REFUSE to refund the money that came out of my account. Plus, they had to cancel my card in order to investigate and it is going to take half a month to get a new card. There is no way to expedite shipping. I have no access to cash or a physical card. My son had my credit card so I was able to send him money whenever, which I liked! The bad and worse experience is, I had to close my account with chime on the 10th of October. They tell you, it takes 30 days for you to get your money back in a check. 30 damn days, for me to get my own damn money back!! I worked to hard for me to wait 30 ** days to get my own money back!!! It takes a few seconds to add money to my account, it takes a few seconds to withdraw my own money, but it takes 30 days to get My own money back that I put into my own account!!

I have bills, a kid and other things I have to take care of that I can't because I have to wait longer than I should have to get my OWN MONEY BACK!!! Then to keep calling with no answer and sending emails with no response. This is absolutely ridiculous! I was going to open a chime once my money finally came but at this point, I'm so done with chime! They lure people in with the, no monthly fees, no overdraft fees, and the spot me **, but if you do your research, there are some Banks that have no Monthly fees also. They then agree to change the email address which the account is connected to. I then receive a final email saying my email address for the account has been change to an email address which is mine but with 555 added to the end of it. So they would just randomly change the email associated with the account because a random person called up and said there was fraud. This all seems so shady. I'm a new customer it's a time I've been with them for a few weeks now. I got all my direct deposit and everything set up, waited over 10 days for the card to arrive and it never did in fact I had several glitches that told me it arrived when it wasn't supposed to. The people who answer customer service assured me to be escalated but there's probably hundreds of them that work on these phones from home so I never see any change. In fact I see that this is a frequent occurrence. The day that the card was set to arrive it never did, when I called into customer service they only offered to just send me out a new one which is going to take even longer. The temporary digital card is not optimal because many businesses decline it and you cannot withdraw cash unless you pay huge fees to have it transferred to a money service or have a friend withdraw cash for you which is still is not the purpose of being able to have your own account with this business.

The person I spoke with on the phone after I told them the card did not arrive told me that they would do their best to see that the car had arrived in 3 to 5 business days. When I got up this morning to check on the app it shows that it's over two weeks of a wait to get this card. I'm extraordinarily disappointed and tempted to leave this business altogether because I have not seen how it is performed better than any of their alleged competitors. In fact they have performed worse than most of their competitors. I will never recommend this business to anybody. The $100 bonus fee is not worth it because in the end you end up not being able to really access your funds, you have to wait almost a month to even be able to get a card and their customer service is absolutely the shoddiest customer service I have ever experienced.

Chime rhymes with crime. Did anyone know that when you submit a check for deposit at Chime, it’s not the issuing bank that will decide if your check is good or not. Chime themselves have a “risk assessment team” that will decide. It doesn’t matter if the check is a payroll check, government check or a check from the White House, Chime's risk assessment will take it upon themselves to decide if the check is good. And not by verifying the funds.

I want to know what exactly the risk is to Chime. What risk is involved in submitting a check for payment? You weren’t asking to access the funds before the check clears. So they risk nothing. You, however, will find yourself with a bank that is far from full service. It is no service. You will find yourself inconvenienced. You will be out of your money, because the check will clearly state “for Chime deposit only”. Only Chime would be able to get their hands on your money. Then when you attempt to get something done about it they will be rude, obnoxious and, in very poor English you can barely understand, they will tell you there is nothing that can be done. Over and over. Their AI is smarter than their human supervisors.

You are stuck with a worthless check. Chime will not accept your check, your payroll check, or a government check simply because THEY DON’T LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE CHECK. Good or not, they just don’t like the looks of it. You can’t cash anywhere else because it says Chime deposit only. Chime, however, has access to the payment of that check.

There is a good possibility Chime will not accept your check, your payroll check, or a government check simply because THEY DON’T LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE CHECK. Good or not, they just don’t like the looks of it. Maybe they hate the color. They have zero liability in the deposited check because you cannot access the funds until the check clears. I guess they never heard of validating the funds or submitting the checks to the bank of their origin for payment like every other bank. Chime is a BAD BAD choice if you were looking into online banking. They stole my money. They are incompetent and I don’t want anyone else to have to deal with them. BEWARE!!

I made a transfer from my business Paypal account and Chime denied it saying there were not matching names. I legally have to have my name on both accounts, so why would it get denied? I find that extremely frustrating. I need to make a $10,000 down payment on a car tomorrow and it's nowhere to be found because you "returned" it to Paypal, but they never got any word that it was returned, so now I'm out 10 grand and I won't be getting my car tomorrow, or ever. I might pull up a lawsuit. So thanks, Chime, you ** me on this one. I will delete my Chime account and leave this same review on all platforms.

Context: I called PayPal to request a transfer to my Chime account. The same day, chime emailed me saying the funds for returned to the processor. I called Paypal to check on the funds, but they said the transfer was successful. I told them I spoke to Chime and they said it got returned, but they said Chime never sent any communication about anything going back anywhere. So then I called you back and they told me they couldn't tell me where my funds were and they couldn't do anything since they had not received ANY communication from Chime.

I need my money by tomorrow morning and that doesn't seem to be happening. I have had a few issues with chime in the past, so this was the last straw for me. It was convenient for a while, until it wasn't. They also never gave me money for referring a friend. It's not till AFTER the person joins that they mention the referral must connect a direct deposit. That, to me, felt very shady and sketchy. I am highly disappointed in Chime as a whole. I never even noticed any changes to my credit, so your credit builder is crap too. But they did reach out about a survey, where I posted this same exact message. It was nice to vent to a wall.

Talking to Chime customer support is like talking to a brick wall. My employer sent my payroll check to Chime for direct deposit 3 days before payday. On payday, the money isn't in my Chime account. I went through the app to speak with someone. This was a major headache and causing me so much Anxiety. I talked through Chime chat and spoken on the phone with several agents only to get the runaround.

I was told by several Chime reps that they can't see my direct deposit until it's posted. I then asked, "So where's my money" and was told, "It's in processing." I then asked, "What stage in the process is my direct deposit?" I was told by multiple Chime agents that they couldn't see the process only when it's posted. Again what is customer service for if they can't answer simple questions. Chime also said they release your money as soon as it's deposited. This is a lie and false advertising. Your direct deposit goes through a third-party process before it's posted into your account. Chime holds your money and release it when they want to. I was also told I have to wait 2 pay cycles (a month) to get my money. Even though I have been with Chime for over 7 years. I will be closing this account. Chime is full of crap they have no one with a clear head. Nobody never understand what I’m saying. They can never provide you with what you actually need. A check was mailed out to me 8/2/2023 they rushed the check and I still haven’t received it. They are aware fed ex will be delivering the check and has yet to give me a tracking number for all I know some some could have stolen my Check because I have no clue where my check is. Everytime I ask for a tracking # I keep getting the run around.

How the hell is somebody gone be able to track anything with no tracking number or order number? That doesn’t make since I sat on the phone with these ppl for an hour yesterday and still could not receive a tracking #. They keep saying they gone reach this department and that department and it’s still nothing all I asked was for a tracking number to track MY FUNDS. How can you not have a tracking number and you all processed through FedEx I have contact fed ex as well they said that they always provide tracking numbers and they should have it. I do not like this first time they mailed a check it wasn't a problem now they can’t slice my problem and I’m very dissatisfied

I have had Chime for a little over 4 years now and my account is always in good standing. It is a little inconvenient because I work in the service industry and most of my income is received in cash tips so I get charged a fee every time I make a deposit.. I had a fraudulent charge go through a while back. I filed a dispute and they denied it. I know I never made this transaction so I appealed it and they denied it again not to mention I also had to go through the inconvenience of shutting off my card and waiting 7 to 10 days for a new one, so I was a little perturbed by this experience..

I currently just had someone hack my phone and they were able to get into every single account I have.. they’ve made the same charges on every card to the same 4 companies that don’t even exist.. the transactions range anywhere from $35-$79 several times a day. It is very obvious it’s suspicious activity. I have filed disputes with all of my card companies and the only one I’m having issues with is Chime. They denied my claim less than an hour after I filed it clearly, there was no investigation process whatsoever. I reopened the claim immediately after, and they denied it yet again two hours after reopening the first one. It is maddening that they won’t even pretend to investigate what is very obvious, suspicious activity, and three other institutions have found it to be as well.. I would not recommend this bank to anyone!

I have had Chime for years and never had a problem, but also never deposited cash. I went to a store, gave them the app generated barcode, and “loaded” $235 plus a $5 service charge to deposit cash into my account. Keep in mind this was for my move in costs due that day. The receipt states it can take up to 24 hours to load and when you call Chime it states 15 minutes to 2 hours. It had not been deposited before the apartment complex closed so I had to drive out of town to borrow money.

After 48 hours the money was still not in my account so attempted to contact Chime. You cannot talk to a real person over the phone, only in chat or by email. Chat support was zero help and could only tell me they couldn’t find the transaction (I gave them the approval number and even told them the card number listed on the receipt isn’t even mine). Finally got an emailed response over 24 hours. Provided necessary information and they told me they would look into it. Another 24 hours and all emails have gone unanswered. I have filed with the BBB. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops because THEY lost a freaking cash deposit.

Honestly, as long as you have access to a smartphone this banking app is fabulous! I get paid 2 days earlier than my coworkers, I can deposit checks from my phone, and I can send checks through the mail for my rent. There's no fees for overdraft, which is amazing living in the economy we do now. There's tons of options for ATM with no fees. The only negative is there's no physical branches. But I haven't had any problems with that either. I totally recommend this as an option for banking.

I was referred to Chime. Boy has this been the worst referral I've accepted. I got my chime debit card and the day after I activated my card I paid my phone bill, bought a Uber and took 2 ATM withdrawals that made me use a pin number to access my funds. Needless to say by that night I was trying to order my family something to eat off Uber eats and keep receiving a funds aren't available. So I went to the Chime app and seen 2 transaction for 65.00 for bus passes, 7 Walmart transaction with 3 having the same amount 79.94 and all within a one hour period. Can you say suspicious behavior. Flags never went up. I also received a charge of 95 dollars and some change from Chevron then jack in the box. Needless to say whoever was given money they eat and I didn't neither did my family.

My acct had been overdrawn. Whoever this was didn't have a pin number nor my identification that asked for cashier to check id on back. So I immediately called Chime and asked how could this happen. They are supposed to protect my money and failed horribly. They assured me that they were going to help me and they were going to help to get money back. I declared that these charges were fraudulent and unauthorized and that I'm on a fixed income and I needed my money returned. They told me that until the merchants settled that I couldn't dispute the charges. They said I would receive a email once settled.

Now here we go. I tell them if they settle they need to find out why how or they needed to request video. I also requested addresses for the purchases because it would say Walmart 3254 and no address. So I got a email stating that some of the charges settled and did I want the claim to continue. And I absolutely did but guess what I immediately receive a email saying that they wouldn't take any further action per my request so I emailed them back that this email was untrue and I'd like whoever prosecuted jailed and I'd be willing to go to any and all court hearings. I called this company as well letting them know I never requested to stop anything. That was a red flag as well.

I then immediately after get a email saying that they investigated the claim and they won't be giving me the money back from these unauthorized transactions. I filed a rebuttal and was supposed to receive a provisional credit that was to be available within ten business days per their policy. I was contacted by the Reno pd and they asked me to call chime and get addresses so that he could further investigate. And I couldn't believe it. They declined to give me the customer that was a victim the info for the officer to continue to help with getting justice for a 70 year old veteran.

I'm now getting very annoyed with Chime and I'm realizing that this company just help a criminal, take me for everything and that they are refusing to help the person that they're supposed to help. And I submit my GPS coordinates for that day because the member of chime told me to submit anything that would show I didn't make the purchases. A month later I still haven't received a provisional credit and no info that they said they had in determining that I was denied for my claim. I said, "How are you going to deny me and not tell why?" They claimed I'd have to wait ten days but that doesn't make sense. If you deny me you should have a reason. So I requested these documents about 4 times. I never got one letter with this info but I received new chime card's atty address. So looks as though they don't have nothing showing that the purchases were authorized. Because they weren't.

So I file rebuttals and continue to tell this company that they really dropped the ball and they were to protect my money and failed. They should have flagged 7 back to back purchases from the same company within a hour period. They say that they agree but they are waiting for the investigation team. The whole time I'm requesting the investigation team who decided they didn't want to abide by the law which says I'm not responsible for unauthorized transactions. So after a month and a half the company denied me again and send this email with the reason I said so now I don't have to wait ten days. Why did you make me wait before and never even send the documents. So I print out this so called evidence that proved that my card was used. I even found that they try to used card at other locations but nobody at chime can explain how this document with all the purchases is proof that the purchases is authorized?

I've requested over and over to speak with someone. I email the owner of chime. I now been just bamboozled by this company that protects people that should have never been able to get my money. What the reason for a pin number or identifying that the card if used with credit the customer is supposed to be asked for id. That never happened. I reached out to Walmart. They told me that chime never contacted them. But if they did she would be looking out for it so she could get our money back to us. She was given a copy of the police report and assured me. So I know Chime is just full of lies, deceit all to a customer that could have been long-term but has fail to legally return the funds from the unauthorized fraudulent Transactions. And as of today they won't answer my questions. They transfer as soon as they can when I request manager. They tell what the manager is going to say. I have to continue to request a manager.

The manager also says a different department handles my questions. I request for the manager to have whoever handles my account to contact me via telephone because I need my money. I'm a chronic care patient Vietnam veteran and can't believe how this company made sure I had no money for food, toiletries or fare to get around. The sad thing they allowed a thief to have 2 bus passes for the month. They had even made sure the thief eat while I'm hurting and immediately reported this crime to them. They make no sense. They lie and they support criminals. They have a legal obligation to give back the stolen money especially when my pin number wasn't used and the report doesn't include the police report the GPS of my whereabout for that day.

I'm left without any money. Think twice about getting an account with them. I'm going with a new bank. I hope a lot of people read this. I'm going to put it to Chime. They want to screw people well see how they like it when I post a review in every website I can.. BUNCH OF CROOKS. CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNTS. Don't try disputing their so called Investigation team will Decline you. They kept my 930.

Again I scammed. This used the Chime logo even provided an 888 number. I thought he was really trying to help me. After my money was taken I filed a Police Report immediately after even provided the dispute team with the police incident number I was still declined getting the money put back in my account. I hope someone from Chime Corporate sees this and does the right thing by giving me the 930.00 I was scammed for. UNTIL THEN I WILL BE POSTING A REVIEW SUCH AS THIS ON EVERY WEBSITE I CAN. IT'S FUNNY NO ONE FROM Chime management has made an effort to reach out to even say they are looking into this further. I've already filed a dispute with The Attorney Generals office of TX. I have contacted 2 local TV stations here in TX provided to them what Chime has done to me and how they kept my money that should have been returned to my account.

They don't seem to care the person who scammed me used their logo.. Don't say a whole of a lot Chimes integrity. Let's see how they do feel when put it out there how they steal people's money. It happened to 2 other people Guy had a fraud issue that was for 864 dollars. He filed a dispute even a police report. Provided this information to those with Chime investigations they still kept his money. Then I got some ** email saying I can request the documents as to how they determined there was no error they say occured with my account therefore they will be keeping my 930.00 all the money I had the scammer took. They would not even issue me temporary funds immediately until it was determined the out come. Chime missed with the wrong customer. Until they do the right thing by putting the 930.00 back in my account they will be seeing this post on every website I can get to.

I've tried to verify my account AT LEAST 5 TIMES IN THE PAST 10 DAYS. They need a picture of my license. The problem is the program they use takes the picture BEFORE THE SHOT IS LINED UP PROPERLY! The picture is deemed no good. They give you 3 tries, then they won't validate the ID. None of the Customer Service representatives can speak English clearly. They'll listened to my issue, only to put me on hold and transfer me to an "escalation specialist". The escalation specialists send me the email described above. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT, IF ANYONE WHO NEEDS A SECOND CHANCE KIND OF ACCOUNT, STAY AWAY FROM CHIME!!!

I was talked into banking with Chime from my wife. She sent me the link and told me how wonderful Chime Banking is and went on and on about how amazing it is. My nightmare started a few days after moving my direct deposit from work to Chime. I tried to log into the app on my phone and was advised I was locked out and I had to contact Customer Care through Support@Chime and I did and I was requested to send further ID proof to unlock my locked account. I sent exactly what they requested and received another email asking for more ID proof. I sent more ID proof of who I was and where I lived, again I received an email asking for even more ID proof.

At this point I contacted Customer Care by phone and was bounced from one operator to another operator to another operator to be just put on hold for another two different operators. Each operator asked for the exact same proof of my ID but none answered a single question I had and they were not able to tell me why my account was locked. Again each operator sent me an email asking for the same proof of ID I had already sent twice by this time.

For the next three days and over 20 times sending in exactly what they asked for as proof ID, I continued to get no response to why my account was locked and that they had not unlocked it, until I sent more ID proof of who I am. I finally pleaded in one of my emails to please stop asking for more proof of ID, I had nothing left that I had not sent them and to please unlock my account. I received an email back and it stated "After review, unfortunately it appears that no further action can be taken on your account unless the items previously requested can be provided." I provided Chime with all my IDs, all my bills mailed to my address in my name, I did this 20+ times and still my account is locked.

Customer Service for Chime is a joke, even if you call them on the phone the operators refuse to forward your call to anyone in the department in charge of reviewing your account. There is no one you can contact higher up than the operators you original speak to and they just bounce you from one operator to another operator and never give you any answers. I feel like Bill Murry in Groundhog Day. I still have no further avenues to take to unlock my account.

I like most things about banking with Chime, I really do but. Without someone competent to handle an issue the good stuff doesn’t really matter. Nice car, oh there’s no gas for 200 miles. It might as well be a lemon. I’m in Ireland to bury my dad. I’m locked out of my account. We’re it not for friends I’d be living on the street with no food or lodging. I mean that is where I’m at and I’m locked out of my account. I’m in Groundhog Day he’ll. I have followed the prompts for verification but there’s a glitch. After I uploaded my documents at least 11 times and each time I get a screen image that reads “SUCCESS” inside a spinning circle. Only to be followed by the words, something went wrong.

Imagine that 11 times over a two day period. Then there’s a “contact customers service via email” prompt and this is when things go downhill fast. I explain what is happening. Going into great detail. The email response, 11 times. “Please go to the chime app and follow the prompts to unlock your account” Ahhh. Then I call customers services in the states and things go even further into the twilight zone.

They want me to take a selfie holding my Drivers's license and a piece of paper with my name and today's date. Ok, no problem. I do that. I email it to the address they provided. Then I call chime back as per their request to continue the verification process. The person in customer service puts me through the hell of explaining the issue all over again. She then says, we will send you an email when we review your account. I said no, not the email fiasco again. Please transfer me to the next tier of service.

I explained that the previous customer service rep transferred me to another department because the first lair of service deals with minor issues? I don’t know why. But she keeps me on the phone as I try to convince her to transfer me. When she finally agrees to transfer me, I’m on hold so long that the 20 euro credit I have on my phone is now completely spent on those two phone calls to chime and the ends. I’m close to tears. How can this be happening? They will use one excuse after another to justify this fiasco but it comes down to one word, incompetence. Sounds harsh but after 57 years roaming this earth I can spot it a mile away. I’m done.

I have been banking with Chime since 2018. Haven't had any real issues. Last year I had a scammer(s) use my account to make several purchases and I disputed each of them and was reimbursed. I even referred quite a few people to bank with them as well. So, I had no reason to believe this bank was not safe until now. I get paid biweekly on Friday's and with Chime my money is usually available Wednesday night. My routine is once it has been deposited, I start paying my bills.

I do the same thing every pay period. I have not deviated from that since becoming a member in 2018. Fast forward to this pay period. My money deposited on Wednesday 2/1/23 and by Thursday morning 2/2/23 my account had been closed. I received three separate emails saying my accounts would be closed immediately. There was no reason given. I thought it was another scam so I went to my app to log in. My access was denied, and it said my account was closed. So, I called the customer service number.

They were less than helpful. They said it was not their decision, but the decision of Bancorp to close it. I was told they couldn't give me any other information and that I needed to reach out to the support in that department. I asked to be transferred. I was told that department does not have phone access and work strictly through email. The email address was given to me. So, I started my email correspondence with them. They were even less helpful than the Customer Service department. I was given the same canned response that Bancorp closed it, and that Chime doesn't have any information. So, I asked about my remaining funds since my paycheck was just deposited and I had not paid all bills, just part of my bills. I was then told that once all transactions cleared I would receive my funds in 14 days. Well, that is not acceptable. Mind you, this is all through back-and-forth email correspondence.

I again reply and say I need some contact information for Bancorp since Chime can't give me any answers as to why my account was even closed in the first place. This is when the correspondence with them slows down quite a bit. I was getting timely responses and now not so much. So, I continue being persistent and respond to our email chain again. This was all day and evening Thursday while I am still trying to work so that I have a job to continue getting a paycheck. I wake up early Friday morning with a response. Of course, it is not an answer. It is the same canned response as before, but this time it says my money will be returned to me in the form of a check in 30 days.

That is more of an issue than the 14 days I was quoted before. So, the email correspondence continues throughout Friday with me asking straightforward questions that should be able to get straightforward answers i.e. Bancorp contact information, the amount of money in my three accounts before they closed them since I cannot see them anymore, is it 14 days or 30?

The last email response I received today at 8:30 pm CST was a partially canned response and a physical address for Bancorp out of Sioux Falls, SD. I am assuming they want me to send them a letter in the regular postal mail because what am I going to do with that? I do not live close enough to get into my car and show up. Nor could I do that with no debit card to use for gas since all my accounts through them have been cancelled. So here I sit with no access to my money and that is worrisome. I have a feeling I will have another pay period before I ever see the money that was in my account from this pay period.

I am truly disappointed in the lack of customer service that I have been given not to mention every interact I have had via email continues to make it seem as if I have done something wrong to get my account closed. I have not. I do not know why it is closed since I cannot get anyone to give me an answer. In closing, I would say if you have any other options for banking I would look at those options first before banking with Chime. It's unfortunate that I need to take that stance, but when you have a business, and their customer service lacks then it's probably best to look at other options.

UPDATE: I was initially SCAMMED by a Chinese online firm called Rabbit Quick on November 13, 2022, for a terrible knock-off product costing only $59.95. I worked thru ALL of the Chinese product return policies except one - paying for the return of the knock-off product all the way back to their Chinese warehouse for more than twice the purchase price. See the clear SCAM? As a part of fighting the original SCAM, I contacted Chime (my “bank” at the time) to report that particular SCAM and to request a SCAM refund of the purchase price due to the fraudulent nature of the sale.

It quickly became apparent that the 2nd SCAM was occurring right before my eyes - Chime (not a bank) was not at all concerned with or cared anything about my initial SCAM report and was indeed "SCAMMING" me a 2nd time for their own bottom-line. THEN, in January of this year, I conducted a more thorough examination and review of Chime's activities, and the light came on: Chime (not a bank) is a fraudster and a con all by itself. Chime has no intention of honoring any true bank due diligence, laws, or proper procedures.

Review ANY of the single-star customer reviews for Chime from any complaint source (including BBB) and you'll see the same Chime replies and "answers" - deny, deny, deny. There's a reason that 14+% of ALL Chime reviews are single-star complaints. That's a high percentage of serious complaints no matter what type of widget is being sold or pushed.

SUMMARY: As a former Chime (not a bank) customer, as long as you toe the line and don't complain or have some other issue, you should be fine. But if you don't toe the line, you're financially dead. And that could easily result in the personal loss of a lot more money than I've experienced (many in the thousands). Again, check any of the single-star reviews, and there's a lot of them.

So, I would highly recommend that you stay with the traditional banks with real people and real observance of the banking laws. Chime (not a bank) has only one positive note over the true banks, and that is the "Spot me" feature. ALL other Chime features are the same as traditional banks, ALL of them (direct deposit, etc.). And you can expect the "Spot me" feature to soon arrive at a true bank near you. It's called "competition" and it works.

I tried to use Chime's mobile deposit feature to deposit to a payroll check and was told it would take no longer than 5 days to process. I bank with a few other banks and know this is a standard boiler plate verbiage. I waited Three business day and checked my account to see if funds were made available, to my surprise they were not. I then called the bank that the payroll check was written from and they informed me that the funds were made available to Chime earlier that day. I then waited one full business before calling Chime to see why the funds or at least a portion of them was not made available to me. I was told that I would have the funds on the following day, (day 5) at 0700am.

On the fifth day I check the account at 0730am and to my surprise no money still. I called Chime Support again and was informed that the funds would be available by 0400pm. I asked why the holdup and did not receive an answer other than it takes up to five days. At 0400pm I again checked my account and STILL NO FUNDS. I contacted Chime support again and was told that my funds would be available by 1100pm. By now I am frustrated at the constant changing of their time frame. I do not feel that this is a good business to deal with, I do not recommend them to anyone. If you are using their service for credit building purposes there are better ways to do it. The only reason I gave it one star was because I had to put something in order to write this review. I have been with CHIME since 2019. I have had disputes in the past, for relatively small amounts. My card was used to make $179 worth of purchases from Apple. Thank goodness I picked up a shift in the ER and was awake when my phone started going crazy at 3:08am. I instantly locked my card, called and reported it, and requested a new card.

This happened on 12/24/22. I have literally called them every single day. Between the staff who are difficult to understand and the disorganization, I almost had a heart attack. I did everything they told me to do, to include sending a print out of my work schedule showing I was at work, a copy of my charges from Apple starting from 12/20/22 until 12/30/22, that showed (you guessed it) NO purchases made. They would say they never received things, never received a claim. I would file a new one, and then two days later get an email saying the first one was denied. Called, they couldn't give me answer, had to wait for the email. It became a cluster of mess.

I was so angry with CHIME that it didn't occur to me until today, 1/4/23, to CALL APPLE DIRECTLY MYSELF. I was SO angry that they were spinning me in circles and basically accusing me of lying, I didn't have the good sense to just save myself the misery and CALL APPLE FIRST. Ten minutes later, problem solved. Shame on me for being in my own world of crazy and just SHAME ON YOU CHIME. I went to Chime because I was using another online bank that had terrible security. Had someone order a debit card from my account while I was on the phone with customer service to cancel another card that has been ordered and activated without my knowledge or authorization. I liked that just to open the account I had to go through several steps to verify my identity. If nothing else I felt more secure about the account than with my previous bank. Security I give good grades for, everything else is less than acceptable. First my direct deposit, I called to ask why they are so random. Could be Wednesday at 1:30 to noon on Thursday. Their response is the payroll department is at fault.

My payroll releases funds on Tuesday morning every week and for the two-plus years that location has been open and I still haven’t been given a rational or clear answer from anyone. Then I call about when a refund will be put back into my account and I’m told up to 7 business days. I’ve had probably 5-6 refunds or credits put into my account that are usually done within two days. I had two refunds this week, Christmas week, and one was started at 8:21 am on 12/17 and the other order was placed at 18:22 on 12/18. The refund on the 18th wasn’t processed by vendor until the 19th and was received on the 21st. As of 12/23, I am still waiting on the first refund. I spoke to several not-so-informative or helpful customer-sensitive reps and was told the same thing by each person.

Then I asked why I get one sooner than the other with the one received taking less than two days to be processed by merchant and returned. Chime has told me they are able to see that the merchant has canceled my transaction from the 17th but I just need to wait on my funds. I did speak to several CSR’S that tried telling me it was on the merchant when I was already told different. I spoke to a so-called supervisor that told me that the refund would be there when it’s available I just had to wait.

After asking why one takes less time than the other even though the merchant shows canceling the transaction, I was told I just have to accept the process. The only thing the customer service provides are the responses that you can read on the app and no explanation or answer to any concern is ever given. If you have other banking options I would advise against online banking, it has been a terrible experience with both banks I have used.

I loved chime, to be perfectly fair I convinced 3 other people to move to Chime. If you never need anything from them you will likely feel the same. I however needed customer support. I pay my mortgage via the Chime Check Pay. Supposedly they send a check to pay my bills. My mortgage company is claiming I missed a payment that I paid with this feature of Chime. I initially requested copies of those checks 28 days ago which their website and some of their customer support representatives know. After 10 days of being patient (they told me 3-5 business days) I have started emailing, chatting and calling every day. All their offshore support can do is provide statements which of course I can get from the website, so they are essentially useless in this case. They created an escalation ticket for “back office team” who could supposedly get those check copies.

They have not responded in 12 days, I can not get through to a real person in the back office team and now my mortgage company is threatening foreclosure. My favorite part of this whole experience was when “Bryan” answered the phone one day with such a strong offshore accent I had to ask for another representative, he accidentally forgot to put me on hold and he didn’t know I speak a very small bit of Hindi from my military experience and he called me the equivalent in English of a donkey. Yes, the mortgage company is threatening to take my home and you can’t even produce the information you say you can to stop that, I am being difficult now.

Do NOT fall for the false advertising of their Credit Rebuilding Program! They only lure people who are trying to improve their credit by getting them to have their entire checks direct deposited in a Chime holding account and then, even after they send you a Visa debit card, and verify who you are, when you try to activate the Credit Rebuilding Program, that has to be done in the Chime App, it says you're denied because they can't verify who you are!

After complaining to Chime about it, they then requested I send them a picture of me holding my Driver's License, up to my face next to me holding a plain piece of paper with the date written on it! After I complied with the request, the Chime App still denied me with the reason being, once again, they could not verify my identity! Now Chime is saying there is nothing they can do about it! FALSE ADVERTISING at its best. They now have all of my money and personal information and home phone number and more. They won't even tell me what I can do to try and further the validity of the person they already had me verify on multiple occasions to no avail. Closing my account! Good luck if you're going to sign up with these shysters!

I got the credit builder card which has so been great for 2 months & suddenly I got a -77 point ding on my credit report. When I looked at why it’s because of Chime. I got the credit builder account to build my credit and everything is paid ahead of time. Every time I spend on that card is paid ahead of time but chime reported to Experian (I talked to Experian) that I owe a balance.

The amount of the balance is the exact amount of money on my chime credit report of the difference of money I had spent from the previous month until the current month. There’s no way that I could owe money on a prepaid card where every dime I spent was paid ahead of time. I have talked to customer service multiple times and talk to management multiple times and they just keep sending me in a loop and telling me they’ll take a note of my issue. They take no responsibility and they refused to fix it and they blame Experian when it is very clearly their issue. They are frauds.

Do yourself a favor and check the reviews of this company before giving them your hard earned money. My daughter opened an account in Chime in September 23rd because she was traveling to Italy. Chime advertises that they don't charge any fees for foreign purchases. I deposited her savings in the account for her expenses. On September 27th she tried to pay for an expense in Italy and her account was locked. Chime states in their phone application that there is an email to send information to verify my daughter and unlock the account. The same day (September 27th) the requested information was sent to chime.

After multiple calls and escalations (my wife and daughter called twice, and I called in October 4th and October 6th) the account continues to be locked and her funds are not available. On one of my calls I asked the supervisor if the account can be cancelled, so she can receive her funds back, or if there is anything that can be done to access her money. Supervisor states that there is nothing to be done, there is no time to resolution and there is no one that we can call to address the problem only the "backoffice department" can Unlock the account.

This was money that she had saved for her travel, and Chime has basically illegally retained it. The only way that I was able to get a response is by filing a complaint with the BBB (You also want to check the reviews there). However their response keeps giving me the run around. Morgan Stanley JUST VERIFIED my Chime account with 2 small deposits a few days ago! I was not able to pay my rent and my property manager charged me $100 per day in late fees.

To get access to MY MONEY, Chime required that I email them my photo ID, a copy of my bank statement, “letter from the bank reflecting that I’m an authorized user on all external bank accounts,” and a copy of a utility bill showing my address? REALLY? This was all caused by making a deposit from a new bank. I cannot wait to get access to my money in the next 24 to 48 hours so that I can CLOSE MY CHIME ACCOUNT and live happily ever after. I immediately turned off transactions and requested a replacement card. I filed the dispute when it got settled at 9 PM my time and they denied the dispute at 3:58AM. How the hell did they conduct this investigation in 6 hours in which was overnight? They said they'd call the merchant which they didn't. I appealed the denied dispute and submitted my work schedule and call log showing I was clearly working that day and that time and they still denied it. I called again and spoke to a Manager and they said they're emailing me the documents of their findings of the investigation as to why they're denying it and then I can appeal again. I have also done EVERYTHING they have requested, including uninstalling and reinstalling my app, trying to sign in from my MAC, you name it, I have done it.

I have 21 "escalation tickets" to their "highest authority people" within their organization. I believe the next highest up would be within the realms of Heaven. I work for the Federal Government, so when I realized what was happening, I had my direct deposit rerouted to a family members account. The Government gave me a one time pass on this, through an affidavit as a one time option, as our our paychecks have to be issued electronically to an account with our name and social security number. So, for an entire month, I have been calling every day. I have over 4 dozen emails from them and even more sent from me. I have 54 hours of talk time documented on my phone.

Now, I missed my last direct deposit and will be forced to wait 2 more weeks to have my check re-issued to another account, which I now have to open, because Chime cannot resolve a simple issue relating to my email. This to me is not only illogical, but suspect and fraudulent in nature. They have cost me over $1700, so far, in accrued fees associated with bills I couldn't pay because I had no access to my account to transfer money. I have spent a lot of time researching the same type of complaint, or similar to mine, of people that have faced steep consequences due to Chime's incompetency and downright refusal to assist. They have lied, diverted blame and have been totally misleading with this experience.

I have a close friend that assists with class action lawsuits, which I have a meeting with tomorrow. They can be started with one person and continue with a group (small or large) to pursue further action/compensation to recover claims on damages, financial or otherwise to continue. If you are interested, please reply to this for more information.

I have been with Chime since 2017 and never had an issue with mobile deposit of check but until I received a check from my job like always but my job didn't have the funds in the acct so it became a bounced check. The check was returned and I ended up with a negative balance in my account. I notified my job and they reissued another check from a different account. I tried to deposit but they deactivated my option to deposit a check permanently and would not reactivate it at all. This was the one and only time this has happened and it was not my fault that I didn't know my job did not have funds in the account or had a banking issue on their end.

They would not reactivate my account and I still had 2100 in my saving that I could not retrieve on the case that I did not know my job's check bounced. I was forced to close my account and go to another bank as payroll was coming up and I have bills to pay before the first of the month! UGH never would I ever go back to them!

First, my 74 year old mother’s account was closed without her knowledge for ‘suspicious activity’. Then it took her nearly four months for them to return her money from said account. Also, they said they sent her an email about closing the account, I let them know they hadn’t, they sent it that day, a week after closing the account. Then my sister’s account was charged (by accident), that company returned the funds, but Chime never put the money back into her account. Any time you call they give you the runaround, it takes months for them to fix anything, if they fix it, and only when you hound them. It’s ridiculous for a company to treat people this way.

CHIME IS A JOKE! I have had my account with Chime for quite some time now. Recently I have had a lot of fraud and unauthorized transactions on my Chime account. Chime has been notified of each one. I noticed money had been transferred out of my account while I was in Las Vegas. While I was in Las Vegas Chime blocked my transactions to certain stores stating they were suspicious. I requested they remove the block because it was me attempting to complete the transactions. I was told they have no control over the system blocking the transactions. The city may have been out of the ordinary, but I shopped at Ross quite often.

About 2 months later, I am checking to verify the hotel returned my deposit because sometimes they do not return the deposit to you. That was when I seen all the transfers to a phone number I do not know. I immediately contacted Chime to report this. I had never previously transferred any money out of my account this way, but they blocked my card transactions. ODD! Chime opened up a dispute with the information I provided. They stated their investigations team would be giving me an update as soon as possible and if the investigation went beyond 10 days I would receive a provisional credit on my account. 3 days later Chime closed their investigation. I seen my money had not been returned to my account and was furious. I called them again and demanded to know why, but the representative was unable to tell me why.

He/She said they would request the documents and have them sent out to me. I requested they reopen the dispute. I was told without any new information they could not reopen it. I let her know this was the responsibility of her "investigations" unit. She asked me if I provided a police report. I told her no. I filed a report with the police department and sent it over to them. They reopen the dispute a couple days go by and again DENIED DISPUTE. They stated there was no error on the transactions. Instantly I am calling again demanding a reason as to why. Their employee again was not able to provide me a reason. I let them know I wanted to speak to investigations myself.

BUT OF COURSE, they don't have any contact information I could reach them on. It has been a few days shy of one month, I have called every day sometimes 5-6 times a day demanding the documentation showing that I am responsible for these unauthorized transactions. The number of calls I have made and the countless emails and time I have spent trying to resolve this with the company is unreal.

The transactions are almost $1100! They think I am just going to let them refuse to give me the money back and they won't even do a reasonable law-required investigation. That is not going to happen. I filed a claim with the FTC, Department of consumer finance and the BBB. My next step is to obtain legal representation and take them to court and demand the dispute be handled according to the federal and state regulations. I had a representative tell me tonight they emailed the documentation over to me last Thursday at 9 AM.

I asked him what the email said so I could look it up in my mailbox. The representative told me the email was blank with the attachment. After looking through my emails NO DOCUMENTS. I demanded to speak with upper management as I have numerous times over the last 30 days NOT ONE PERSON HAS REACHED OUT! I even requested it in writing through Support@Chime.com and never got anything in return.

I think everyone should be aware of CHIME and their illegal unethical unmoral business practices. They never did a reasonable investigation or provided me the documents within the time frame required by law. Their employees have laughed at me. That employee's name was MAX. He thought it was funny someone stole almost $1100 out of my account. I am starting to think maybe there is something going on internally! Because there is not anything funny about a customer losing $1100. I am attempting to figure out why CHIME believes they don't have to follow the laws as everyone does. Chime even lied to the Department of Consumer finance saying they were working on the claim yet they had closed it again. I have went every avenue possible to resolve this. I even contacted VISA but they just wanted me to speak to CHIME.

Last Friday, I received a notice that I needed to provide a handful of documentation within 5 days, due to another larger source of income that I recently started receiving. I complied and sent it to them within the 5 day period, and they requested more documentation. I explained to them that there was some documentation I was unable to receive that quickly, and they gave me instructions on how to get documentation they would take. They then locked my account on Wednesday, leaving me with absolutely no access to my funds -- mind you, we were a few days away from bills being due (rent, utilities, credit card payments, FOOD shopping, etc).

I have informed them of this and continued to provide the documentation that they have requested. I am on my third or fourth round of sending them the documentation they requested, and yet their most recent request is to send them something that I've already sent. I have explained to them how crucial it is for me to have access to my funds, especially being a father and sole provider for a household.

Not only are my funds unable to be used, but I can not transfer them at all -- as I have absolutely no access to my online portal due to the lock they imposed. They have no physical locations. So my freshly deposited paycheck is being held hostage by them, even though I have complied and continued to send them the information that they have requested. I am incredibly disappointed, disheartened, and now regret any time I've ever suggested them to anyone. DO NOT USE CHIME! SERIOUSLY.

My husband and I both have accounts with Chime and we've been with them for more than 6 years. Up until last year, we never had an issue with anything and if we did the customer service was great at resolving it. But, I went to jail 2 years ago and I was there for about 7 months, in which time I can't use my debit card as we all know and surely can't got to Fairfield Inn and rack up 700 dollars of charges in a different location from where I'm from, McDonald's, gas stations, etc.

I filed a dispute upon seeing that before I went to jail I had about 400 in my account, but when I was released I had negative 788. Filed a dispute, turned in three state sealed documents proving my dates on incarceration and they denied my dispute. They said I never provided them proof so I faxed emailed and mailed them, copied of all three and then they had no recollection of my rebutted, then had no documents saying why my claim was denied they just kept sending the same email to me stating they stand by their Initial decision that "no error occurred". I fought and fought and fought the past year and a half and my account is still negative and they still say no error occurred.

My husband has had some cash app transactions come out of his account for 4 months now, filed 49 disputes for transactions totaling over 1500 dollars, they said that they blocked the merchant but it still managed to get money out. He filed several rebuttals since end of March and nothing. They denied every single dispute. Can't provide documentation as to why, but we provided statements from cash app and messages from customer service at cash app stating that they would most definitely refund the money but we have to file the dispute with our bank, Chime, and provide them with the documentation they emailed me verifying his card was attached to several other cash app accounts but not his own, and statements showing he has been a member of cash app since June 2021 and used cash app totalling 8 times and all were paid for with a different card.

In the months they specifically had Over 800 dollars taken from my account into someone else's and the sad part is on the chine app it shows the eat persons account that the money was transferred into, but do they even care to look? Nope. We were told we would get a provisional credit on a specific date and on that date we received 49 emails denying all of our claims and no reason and we wrote back to rebuttle each on and withing a minute we received a reply of "Our decision stands and we have found no error occurred" because they deny every dispute over 50 dollars.

I'm contacting a lawyer and already filed so many complaints with the CFPB and BBB. I'm taking this as far as it will go and I won't stop until we receive our funds back. The customer service team has been replaced with rude people or rude computers since they all just send the same response to everything "hi I know your upset so I'm here to help blah blah blah". It's a computer programmed to send the same thing back. Just called a chime bot but they address it with a real name to make you think they give 2 isshes about anything you've proven to them. Either they are making money from stealing from their customers i.e VICTIMS or they really just don't give a crap about anything and the whole chime name and associates are scamming everyone they get the information for.

Needless to say, I will give them negative 100 stars if I could. I have 6 kids to take care of so every penny I get is for something we need not want but need so me missing out of over 2 thousand dollars is only putting them in the biggest hole ever. If I could reverse the entire time I've been a customer of chimes I would so take it back because no amount of time is worth the amount of moneys they've literally stolen from my family. Not to mention you filed police reports both times and provided them with copies and still no error occurred. The biggest error is me trusting them with my family's only means on income. And you can see I'm not the only person this has happened to try 386 more ppl. Stay back as far as you can because it may be 4 years from now but it will end up costing you way more then you bargained for....**

They have amazing perks such as spot me for up to $200+ dollars and a chime credit builder which I have been using as well. However when I lost my card someone picked it up and made purchases on it. I immediately went to dispute the purchases and the Chime support denied the disputed saying I have no evidence. Someone even purchased something at a place I have never purchased anything before for $2 I assume to test the card before purchasing more and then bought an expensive app subscription as well.

No matter how much I tried they wouldn’t give me the money that is rightfully mine. Now I don’t feel safe using this bank and I don’t feel supported by them and will not recommend it as much as I have been. I am currently looking at other banks that offer similar perks because I don’t want a bank like this to be the place I put my money anymore. Hopefully someone at Chime sees this and learns a lesson.

I explained we had no idea what the last transactions were because the card was stolen and the best I could do is verify the last deposit we knew about which was in March. Was told that wouldn't work. Even though we could verify every other bit of account info they would not help us. Got fed up and told them to just close the account so we could open a new one and was told we couldn't even do that because we can't verify transaction history. It's ridiculous that they don't have a better system in place when it comes to stolen cards. I'd rather pay a monthly service fee on another card than to ever have to deal with these people again.

I cannot get through to Chime by phone as although the account is in my name, and the emails come to my email address, whoever opened the fraudulent account did not use my correct birth date or phone number and since I don’t have an account I don’t have that number. Since it doesn’t recognize me, because I don’t have the fraudulent identifying info, it will not let me through. I emailed with them in April, they assured me it was identity theft and acct closed. Not true as I am now getting emails about continued activity in my fraudulent account in May!

I have emailed with them all morning, begging them to call me. They refuse so I can’t ask for what I need to supply for identity restoration. Their emails do not even address the fact that I need more info. I get lots of email responses but each is different, they are obviously not reading all the info I’ve sent them. I have LifeLock premium who has sent info to identity restoration dept but need more info from Chime. Who refuse to speak with me.

We are not finding any missing funds from our accounts but a fraudulent account has been opened in my name. No telling what they’re doing with it, how much debt they’ll accumulate under my identity with this fraudulent account. Too detailed to be handled by email but Chime refuses to speak to me. I think identity theft through Chime’s own company should be important enough to at least speak to a “customer” to give them the info they need to restore their identity. I suppose having fraudulent accounts, and identity theft, do not concern them. Beware! Stay away!

Finally on Sunday I posted in their Facebook page that I have attempted to contact them regarding fraudulent activity on my account and was not getting a response. Around 2100 on Sunday, received an email wanting me to verify my identity. Actually three different ones. Did everything they asked and was finally able to get into my account.

Took it upon myself to call them since they had not contacted me regarding the transfers and disputes. First time, dude was flustered and didn’t understand the situation, he ended up hanging up in me. Me already irate called back and spoke to someone else. Once again explaining the situation and said he was going to file a dispute and I didn’t need to do anything else. I asked him to verify that they received all of the emails I sent (>40) and he stated he could see them. Well, Monday was a holiday and wasn’t expecting anything. Tuesday I received an email that Chime was closing my account and would no longer be doing business with me. They would be mailing me my additional funds after 30 days. The heck you will!

Tried calling their number again and the IVR informs me that my account was closed and if I needed any assistance I would need to EMAIL support. This is ridiculous. Then I started my barrage of emails to the unmanned support line and getting informed that I will need to wait 30 days to receive any funds. In these emails I informed them that I was self employed and they requested money back from my vendors. Now my vendors put my account on hold due to now owing on past invoices. I requested that I wanted documentation of my dispute and their findings for them to close my account without even a phone call for common courtesy. Last time I checked, I was the victim in this situation.

Also stated that I was in shock that I finally was able to speak to someone on a Sunday and since Monday was a holiday they could close my account Tuesday before noon. Where was the investigation? What about the money they sent to some external bank? Still crickets…. This afternoon I received an email asking to verify my mailing address and they would be sending a check via express mail. I’ll believe it when I see it, Being that I was all over the transactions I was notified of, you would think they would if responded sooner. I’ve never given them or had to dispute anything before do this took me by surprise. Please do not do business with them since they do not value your security and cannot protect yourself if and when someone else gets your information, I’m still trying to get an answer.

This company is a complete joke. They claim to be a “real bank” but handle unauthorized transactions with little to no care at all. I had my card stolen and 4 unauthorized transactions were completed on my card totaling over $800 and they closed my account and found no wrongdoing. I advised them if my police report from my purse being stolen at a gas station & they STILL refused to credit my money back or see the police report.

I’ve been a customer with them for years and never had any disputes or anything like this and this is how they treat their customers. Do not get a ln account with these unethical people. They are a complete joke. If your account gets compromised- they will do NOTHING to help the customer. They’ll just reissue a new card. I haven’t been able to speak to a live person. No one will talk to me. Worst experience in my life. I am a hard working single mother & I take care of foster children. I value my money and need every dime of it to care for kids I have. I am devastated and angry. They lost a customer. Please don’t use Chime as a bank. They are fake

I will start out by saying, I am not an actual customer. I am an honest person who found someone's debit card. I was only trying to let the company know I had their card and to shut it off for them. Now to the unbelievable part. There is NO number for lost Chime Cards anywhere on their site, or on the card itself. I called the one "customer service" number that is on the card and on their website. I sat for a long time and listened to every option hoping to be able to speak to someone. Not only did I not get to let them know I had their customer's card, but I never got any real information. The automated messages for each area were more like advertisements for the company. I felt like it was maybe written by a young child for a school project or something. Sounded very unprofessional.

When I went to their website, more of the same. No information on lost cards EXCEPT a statement of (paraphrased) 'If you lose your card you need to block the transactions' ... the best part, they don't tell you how to do that. I just wanted to keep their customer safe, but they were not having it. No way, no how. I would suggest anyone who has such non-cerebral communication for their customers and won't help you keep your money secure needs to be absolved. Just my honest opinion. Just tried to help ...
