I started this Chime account last year. So I try the credit builder cause they said it can boost your credit score, I always put the money in way before the due date and keep it in there until the first of the month. They will send it to the credit companies 3 to 4 days before your due date, my due date is the 23rd of every month and I make sure what amount I spend or the month before I put back way before my due date. One time they sent it over for $5 and my credit score drop 26 points.

Now in November I paid the amount before the due date I was checking my credit score every day and I seen when they sent it over to the credit bureau 3 days before my due date and the money was in my account. I screenshot it and sent it to them to show that it was in there before the due date. Now I’m going to wait and see if my credit score drop cause it show as if it was not in my account and it was. I will be working on the next step to file a claim cause this is not right at all. This is going to mess a lot of people's credit score bad so I will be closing it cause it don’t help at all, they need to look into what is going on.

This company has been the most unavailable, unreliable, and misinformed experience I've had since my son passed 2 weeks ago... Trying to close his account and talking with people that are not only not helpful but don't understand or try to, that I have sent all of his records a dozen times... I would highly suggest not doing business with them if you care about any business affairs for your family in case of your death... I have begged them to help me...even supervisors as they are taking other calls while they speak with me. This is the worst business exchange of all of his accounts and I want everyone to know. I will probably have to hire an attorney... Don't use them. The broken english supervisor wouldn't allow my request to go over his authority.... It's an inept organization.

I went to Chime because I was using another online bank that had terrible security. Had someone order a debit card from my account while I was on the phone with customer service to cancel another card that has been ordered and activated without my knowledge or authorization. I liked that just to open the account I had to go through several steps to verify my identity. If nothing else I felt more secure about the account than with my previous bank. Security I give good grades for, everything else is less than acceptable. First my direct deposit, I called to ask why they are so random. Could be Wednesday at 1:30 to noon on Thursday. Their response is the payroll department is at fault.

My payroll releases funds on Tuesday morning every week and for the two-plus years that location has been open and I still haven’t been given a rational or clear answer from anyone. Then I call about when a refund will be put back into my account and I’m told up to 7 business days. I’ve had probably 5-6 refunds or credits put into my account that are usually done within two days. I had two refunds this week, Christmas week, and one was started at 8:21 am on 12/17 and the other order was placed at 18:22 on 12/18. The refund on the 18th wasn’t processed by vendor until the 19th and was received on the 21st. As of 12/23, I am still waiting on the first refund. I spoke to several not-so-informative or helpful customer-sensitive reps and was told the same thing by each person.

Then I asked why I get one sooner than the other with the one received taking less than two days to be processed by merchant and returned. Chime has told me they are able to see that the merchant has canceled my transaction from the 17th but I just need to wait on my funds. I did speak to several CSR’S that tried telling me it was on the merchant when I was already told different. I spoke to a so-called supervisor that told me that the refund would be there when it’s available I just had to wait.

After asking why one takes less time than the other even though the merchant shows canceling the transaction, I was told I just have to accept the process. The only thing the customer service provides are the responses that you can read on the app and no explanation or answer to any concern is ever given. If you have other banking options I would advise against online banking, it has been a terrible experience with both banks I have used.

I loved chime, to be perfectly fair I convinced 3 other people to move to Chime. If you never need anything from them you will likely feel the same. I however needed customer support. I pay my mortgage via the Chime Check Pay. Supposedly they send a check to pay my bills. My mortgage company is claiming I missed a payment that I paid with this feature of Chime. I initially requested copies of those checks 28 days ago which their website and some of their customer support representatives know. After 10 days of being patient (they told me 3-5 business days) I have started emailing, chatting and calling every day. All their offshore support can do is provide statements which of course I can get from the website, so they are essentially useless in this case. They created an escalation ticket for “back office team” who could supposedly get those check copies.

They have not responded in 12 days, I can not get through to a real person in the back office team and now my mortgage company is threatening foreclosure. My favorite part of this whole experience was when “Bryan” answered the phone one day with such a strong offshore accent I had to ask for another representative, he accidentally forgot to put me on hold and he didn’t know I speak a very small bit of Hindi from my military experience and he called me the equivalent in English of a donkey. Yes, the mortgage company is threatening to take my home and you can’t even produce the information you say you can to stop that, I am being difficult now.

Do NOT fall for the false advertising of their Credit Rebuilding Program! They only lure people who are trying to improve their credit by getting them to have their entire checks direct deposited in a Chime holding account and then, even after they send you a Visa debit card, and verify who you are, when you try to activate the Credit Rebuilding Program, that has to be done in the Chime App, it says you're denied because they can't verify who you are!

After complaining to Chime about it, they then requested I send them a picture of me holding my Driver's License, up to my face next to me holding a plain piece of paper with the date written on it! After I complied with the request, the Chime App still denied me with the reason being, once again, they could not verify my identity! Now Chime is saying there is nothing they can do about it! FALSE ADVERTISING at its best. They now have all of my money and personal information and home phone number and more. They won't even tell me what I can do to try and further the validity of the person they already had me verify on multiple occasions to no avail. Closing my account! Good luck if you're going to sign up with these shysters!

I got the credit builder card which has so been great for 2 months & suddenly I got a -77 point ding on my credit report. When I looked at why it’s because of Chime. I got the credit builder account to build my credit and everything is paid ahead of time. Every time I spend on that card is paid ahead of time but chime reported to Experian (I talked to Experian) that I owe a balance.

The amount of the balance is the exact amount of money on my chime credit report of the difference of money I had spent from the previous month until the current month. There’s no way that I could owe money on a prepaid card where every dime I spent was paid ahead of time. I have talked to customer service multiple times and talk to management multiple times and they just keep sending me in a loop and telling me they’ll take a note of my issue. They take no responsibility and they refused to fix it and they blame Experian when it is very clearly their issue. They are frauds.

Chime security sent me a message asking if those were mine. SO, I disputed them and had my card cancelled. NOT EVEN an hour after filing, Chime denied my dispute saying they found nothing wrong with the charges.

The phone number attached to the charge was a recording telling you if you saw a charge you didn't make, call your bank CLICK. After doing some serious research, HMM, what do you know? Hundreds of people with the same problem, and guess what, all Chime users. Just beware is all I'm saying. Do yourself a favor and check the reviews of this company before giving them your hard earned money. My daughter opened an account in Chime in September 23rd because she was traveling to Italy. Chime advertises that they don't charge any fees for foreign purchases. I deposited her savings in the account for her expenses. On September 27th she tried to pay for an expense in Italy and her account was locked. Chime states in their phone application that there is an email to send information to verify my daughter and unlock the account. The same day (September 27th) the requested information was sent to chime.

After multiple calls and escalations (my wife and daughter called twice, and I called in October 4th and October 6th) the account continues to be locked and her funds are not available. On one of my calls I asked the supervisor if the account can be cancelled, so she can receive her funds back, or if there is anything that can be done to access her money. Supervisor states that there is nothing to be done, there is no time to resolution and there is no one that we can call to address the problem only the "backoffice department" can Unlock the account.

This was money that she had saved for her travel, and Chime has basically illegally retained it. The only way that I was able to get a response is by filing a complaint with the BBB (You also want to check the reviews there). However their response keeps giving me the run around. I believe with all my heart that it was not an outside crook but Chime itself that stole money out of my account. My wife and I within 6 months had money taken out of both our accounts. 150 out of my wife's and she had to get a new card. $1,200 out of mine and I kept calling to tell them someone was changing my phone number cause I kept getting emails saying, "If you did not change your phone number, please contact us" and then my account information got changed and I couldn't even recover it cause they changed my email and everything.

I called Chime and they said that if I couldn't give them the login information they couldn't look at my account or give me information, that I need to contact Chime support via email. I have emailed Chime support about 37 times with zero responses begging, literally begging them. I got time to help my credit. It hurt my credit. I had to take out a high-interest payday loan just keep a roof over my head. I was working 60 hours a week and had two weeks paycheck taken out of my account with no recourse and no one seems to care. No one will help me fix it and then when I went to register a complaint through the Better Business Bureau turns out this happens all the time.

If you Google Chime there is a huge amount of people who just have money taken out of their accounts who have people changing their account information having their information sold. I mean Chime is a bunch of crooks, you can use them if you want but please learn from my mistake. Do your research, don't take my word for it. There's plenty of research out there to support what I'm telling you right now. They are swindlers and they do not give a crap and this is going to come to light in the next couple of years. I know it is cause they can't keep this up for too much longer. You're going to hear all over the news about how Chime was doing some very very dirty business.

A friend of mine referred me to Chime to get the $100 referral bonus for each of us that they offer. Before I did that I just emailed support at Chime.com and asked since I created a login ID and password in the past will I still be eligible for the bonus. Their reply in the email was they were able to locate that I created the account in September of 2021 but it was not yet activated so I could go ahead and do a direct deposit of at least $500 within 60 days and both my friend and I would still each get the $100 bonus. Within 25 days I had a qualifying direct deposit but neither of us received the bonus. I emailed back to Chime support. They suggested I contact support through the chat feature in the app.

I got a reply pretty quick from someone who claimed to be an expedite specialist and said she could assist me with it and ask for the name and phone number of the person who referred me. When I replied I waited about a day and I didn't get a response, so I replied asking when they were going to respond. Still nothing. I waited one more day. Asked again, "Am I going to get a response?" Still nothing. So I called Chime customer service and I was told they have no way of seeing that or helping me with that. The only people who can help me with that is Chime support via email and told me to email them back. So I emailed them back. I included the screenshot of the conversation where they assured me I would still get the bonus but I still never heard back from anyone. Stay away!

I asked for more information, and was told that that my account was "identified for closure" .... Again I replied asking for specifics. I was told I was being transferred to their specialists for review... That was over a month ago. No response. I don't even know how much, if any, money was in that account as it was my secondary account and I only paid 1-2 small bills from there and was getting direct deposits from a second job I stopped working recently. Chime is not a bank. It's an app. There is ZERO representation from Chime for problem solving, and my problem was caused...by Chime. When they cause a problem, and they will...a customer service person who you cannot understand, will read a script to you over and over telling you that they will forward your issue to another department which will then get back to you in 24 to 48 hours. This all came about when I made a deposit to Chime from my Morgan Stanley investment account and when the deposit was completed, Chime put a block on my account! Why? IT WAS A DEPOSIT!!! Morgan Stanley JUST VERIFIED my Chime account with 2 small deposits a few days ago! I was not able to pay my rent and my property manager charged me $100 per day in late fees.

To get access to MY MONEY, Chime required that I email them my photo ID, a copy of my bank statement, “letter from the bank reflecting that I’m an authorized user on all external bank accounts,” and a copy of a utility bill showing my address? REALLY? This was all caused by making a deposit from a new bank. I cannot wait to get access to my money in the next 24 to 48 hours so that I can CLOSE MY CHIME ACCOUNT and live happily ever after. What a mistake getting involved with them was. I should have known that an app would never deliver a shred of accountability.

First and foremost, I'd like to say they're only good for their SpotMe and early direct deposit payments. Other than that, they don't give a crap if your card information was stolen and used online that was unauthorized. A year and a half ago was my first experience of debit card fraud. They immediately resolved my dispute in 48 hours. Now, when someone uses my card for $97.83 at Chili's on the complete opposite side of the city from where I work, they say they see no error that occurred. I called the Chili's and spoke to someone 4 minutes after I got a notification that my card was used at their location and they confirmed it was fraud on behalf of a woman or fake alias of "Lindsay London."

I immediately turned off transactions and requested a replacement card. I filed the dispute when it got settled at 9 PM my time and they denied the dispute at 3:58AM. How the hell did they conduct this investigation in 6 hours in which was overnight? They said they'd call the merchant which they didn't. I appealed the denied dispute and submitted my work schedule and call log showing I was clearly working that day and that time and they still denied it. I called again and spoke to a Manager and they said they're emailing me the documents of their findings of the investigation as to why they're denying it and then I can appeal again. This is all a load of crap. This is pretty embarrassing. I even just sent them a surveillance video of me at my work and now I'm going to have to file a Police report but I know damn well they'd still deny it. They help you once, and never again after. Stay away!!! They're a scam.

Like many other reviews on this site, Chime received one star from me, because the option for 0 stars does not exist. I feel this needs to change because it gives false information to consumers as an overall business rating. Chime needs to have a class action lawsuit brought against them. I have, for the past month, been trying to access my mobile account as still, an active member. For 30 days now, I have been unable to access my account online (the only way to do it) and NO ONE from Chime can fix it nor explain why. I have sent in every piece of documentation they asked for and then some, the only thing I can possibly submit to them that I have left is my DNA and blood sample. I have also done EVERYTHING they have requested, including uninstalling and reinstalling my app, trying to sign in from my MAC, you name it, I have done it.

I have 21 "escalation tickets" to their "highest authority people" within their organization. I believe the next highest up would be within the realms of Heaven. I work for the Federal Government, so when I realized what was happening, I had my direct deposit rerouted to a family members account. The Government gave me a one time pass on this, through an affidavit as a one time option, as our our paychecks have to be issued electronically to an account with our name and social security number. So, for an entire month, I have been calling every day. I have over 4 dozen emails from them and even more sent from me. I have 54 hours of talk time documented on my phone.

Now, I missed my last direct deposit and will be forced to wait 2 more weeks to have my check re-issued to another account, which I now have to open, because Chime cannot resolve a simple issue relating to my email. This to me is not only illogical, but suspect and fraudulent in nature. They have cost me over $1700, so far, in accrued fees associated with bills I couldn't pay because I had no access to my account to transfer money. I have spent a lot of time researching the same type of complaint, or similar to mine, of people that have faced steep consequences due to Chime's incompetency and downright refusal to assist. They have lied, diverted blame and have been totally misleading with this experience.

I have a close friend that assists with class action lawsuits, which I have a meeting with tomorrow. They can be started with one person and continue with a group (small or large) to pursue further action/compensation to recover claims on damages, financial or otherwise to continue. If you are interested, please reply to this for more information.

The check was returned and I ended up with a negative balance in my account. I notified my job and they reissued another check from a different account. I tried to deposit but they deactivated my option to deposit a check permanently and would not reactivate it at all. This was the one and only time this has happened and it was not my fault that I didn't know my job did not have funds in the account or had a banking issue on their end.

Also, they said they sent her an email about closing the account, I let them know they hadn’t, they sent it that day, a week after closing the account. Then my sister’s account was charged (by accident), that company returned the funds, but Chime never put the money back into her account. Any time you call they give you the runaround, it takes months for them to fix anything, if they fix it, and only when you hound them. It’s ridiculous for a company to treat people this way.

CHIME IS A JOKE! I have had my account with Chime for quite some time now. Recently I have had a lot of fraud and unauthorized transactions on my Chime account. Chime has been notified of each one. I noticed money had been transferred out of my account while I was in Las Vegas. While I was in Las Vegas Chime blocked my transactions to certain stores stating they were suspicious. I requested they remove the block because it was me attempting to complete the transactions. I was told they have no control over the system blocking the transactions. The city may have been out of the ordinary, but I shopped at Ross quite often.

About 2 months later, I am checking to verify the hotel returned my deposit because sometimes they do not return the deposit to you. That was when I seen all the transfers to a phone number I do not know. I immediately contacted Chime to report this. I had never previously transferred any money out of my account this way, but they blocked my card transactions. ODD! Chime opened up a dispute with the information I provided. They stated their investigations team would be giving me an update as soon as possible and if the investigation went beyond 10 days I would receive a provisional credit on my account. 3 days later Chime closed their investigation. I seen my money had not been returned to my account and was furious. I called them again and demanded to know why, but the representative was unable to tell me why.

He/She said they would request the documents and have them sent out to me. I requested they reopen the dispute. I was told without any new information they could not reopen it. I let her know this was the responsibility of her "investigations" unit. She asked me if I provided a police report. I told her no. I filed a report with the police department and sent it over to them. They reopen the dispute a couple days go by and again DENIED DISPUTE. They stated there was no error on the transactions. Instantly I am calling again demanding a reason as to why. Their employee again was not able to provide me a reason. I let them know I wanted to speak to investigations myself.

BUT OF COURSE, they don't have any contact information I could reach them on. It has been a few days shy of one month, I have called every day sometimes 5-6 times a day demanding the documentation showing that I am responsible for these unauthorized transactions. The number of calls I have made and the countless emails and time I have spent trying to resolve this with the company is unreal.

The transactions are almost $1100! They think I am just going to let them refuse to give me the money back and they won't even do a reasonable law-required investigation. That is not going to happen. I filed a claim with the FTC, Department of consumer finance and the BBB. My next step is to obtain legal representation and take them to court and demand the dispute be handled according to the federal and state regulations. I had a representative tell me tonight they emailed the documentation over to me last Thursday at 9 AM.

I asked him what the email said so I could look it up in my mailbox. The representative told me the email was blank with the attachment. After looking through my emails NO DOCUMENTS. I demanded to speak with upper management as I have numerous times over the last 30 days NOT ONE PERSON HAS REACHED OUT! I even requested it in writing through Support@Chime.com and never got anything in return.

I think everyone should be aware of CHIME and their illegal unethical unmoral business practices. They never did a reasonable investigation or provided me the documents within the time frame required by law. Their employees have laughed at me. That employee's name was MAX. He thought it was funny someone stole almost $1100 out of my account. I am starting to think maybe there is something going on internally! Because there is not anything funny about a customer losing $1100. I am attempting to figure out why CHIME believes they don't have to follow the laws as everyone does. Chime even lied to the Department of Consumer finance saying they were working on the claim yet they had closed it again. I have went every avenue possible to resolve this. I even contacted VISA but they just wanted me to speak to CHIME.

Last Friday, I received a notice that I needed to provide a handful of documentation within 5 days, due to another larger source of income that I recently started receiving. I complied and sent it to them within the 5 day period, and they requested more documentation. I explained to them that there was some documentation I was unable to receive that quickly, and they gave me instructions on how to get documentation they would take. They then locked my account on Wednesday, leaving me with absolutely no access to my funds -- mind you, we were a few days away from bills being due (rent, utilities, credit card payments, FOOD shopping, etc).

I have informed them of this and continued to provide the documentation that they have requested. I am on my third or fourth round of sending them the documentation they requested, and yet their most recent request is to send them something that I've already sent. I have explained to them how crucial it is for me to have access to my funds, especially being a father and sole provider for a household.

Not only are my funds unable to be used, but I can not transfer them at all -- as I have absolutely no access to my online portal due to the lock they imposed. They have no physical locations. So my freshly deposited paycheck is being held hostage by them, even though I have complied and continued to send them the information that they have requested. I am incredibly disappointed, disheartened, and now regret any time I've ever suggested them to anyone. DO NOT USE CHIME! SERIOUSLY.

My husband and I both have accounts with Chime and we've been with them for more than 6 years. Up until last year, we never had an issue with anything and if we did the customer service was great at resolving it. But, I went to jail 2 years ago and I was there for about 7 months, in which time I can't use my debit card as we all know and surely can't got to Fairfield Inn and rack up 700 dollars of charges in a different location from where I'm from, McDonald's, gas stations, etc.

I filed a dispute upon seeing that before I went to jail I had about 400 in my account, but when I was released I had negative 788. Filed a dispute, turned in three state sealed documents proving my dates on incarceration and they denied my dispute. They said I never provided them proof so I faxed emailed and mailed them, copied of all three and then they had no recollection of my rebutted, then had no documents saying why my claim was denied they just kept sending the same email to me stating they stand by their Initial decision that "no error occurred". I fought and fought and fought the past year and a half and my account is still negative and they still say no error occurred.

My husband has had some cash app transactions come out of his account for 4 months now, filed 49 disputes for transactions totaling over 1500 dollars, they said that they blocked the merchant but it still managed to get money out. He filed several rebuttals since end of March and nothing. They denied every single dispute. Can't provide documentation as to why, but we provided statements from cash app and messages from customer service at cash app stating that they would most definitely refund the money but we have to file the dispute with our bank, Chime, and provide them with the documentation they emailed me verifying his card was attached to several other cash app accounts but not his own, and statements showing he has been a member of cash app since June 2021 and used cash app totalling 8 times and all were paid for with a different card.

In the months they specifically had Over 800 dollars taken from my account into someone else's and the sad part is on the chine app it shows the eat persons account that the money was transferred into, but do they even care to look? Nope. We were told we would get a provisional credit on a specific date and on that date we received 49 emails denying all of our claims and no reason and we wrote back to rebuttle each on and withing a minute we received a reply of "Our decision stands and we have found no error occurred" because they deny every dispute over 50 dollars.

I'm contacting a lawyer and already filed so many complaints with the CFPB and BBB. I'm taking this as far as it will go and I won't stop until we receive our funds back. The customer service team has been replaced with rude people or rude computers since they all just send the same response to everything "hi I know your upset so I'm here to help blah blah blah". It's a computer programmed to send the same thing back. Just called a chime bot but they address it with a real name to make you think they give 2 isshes about anything you've proven to them. Either they are making money from stealing from their customers i.e VICTIMS or they really just don't give a crap about anything and the whole chime name and associates are scamming everyone they get the information for.

Needless to say, I will give them negative 100 stars if I could. I have 6 kids to take care of so every penny I get is for something we need not want but need so me missing out of over 2 thousand dollars is only putting them in the biggest hole ever. If I could reverse the entire time I've been a customer of chimes I would so take it back because no amount of time is worth the amount of moneys they've literally stolen from my family. Not to mention you filed police reports both times and provided them with copies and still no error occurred. The biggest error is me trusting them with my family's only means on income. And you can see I'm not the only person this has happened to try 386 more ppl. Stay back as far as you can because it may be 4 years from now but it will end up costing you way more then you bargained for....**

We are not finding any missing funds from our accounts but a fraudulent account has been opened in my name. No telling what they’re doing with it, how much debt they’ll accumulate under my identity with this fraudulent account. Too detailed to be handled by email but Chime refuses to speak to me. I think identity theft through Chime’s own company should be important enough to at least speak to a “customer” to give them the info they need to restore their identity. I have reached out to Chime via phone literally four times a day to get an update on where my status was as my account is still frozen 5 days later.

I have sent emails a total of 15 times to both review@chime.com and support@chime.com and I've yet to get a response since then my payroll check was sent to Chime and according to my company they have not received it back yet therefore I cannot be paid until they do. Also all of the funds that were in my account all Frozen what is around the sum of $500. We are living paycheck-to-paycheck and I have since lost two paychecks and Chime has showed me nothing but disrespect. When you call Chime they consistently tell you there's nothing that they can do over the phone and that their review team is reviewing my case and I have to wait through the process. Although they say the process can take up to 48 hours it's well past that.

When you call Chime they ask you for your name, your email address, the last four of your Social Security number, your physical address, phone number, they ask what was the last transaction in my account, and at this point, they have my state-issued ID, as well as proof of my address, a bill with my name on it. How much more of my personal info do they need to Simply prove I am who I say I am. They also made it sound like I was sending in a fake bill because it wasn't a PDF. I am so tired of the disrespect. So yes I even sent it as a PDF.

This business you can't even call a business. They are misleading. You have to get through a robot before you can talk to a person. Took my money, wouldn't give it to me but allowed me to send it to someone who didn't have an account instantly. When I finally got to speak to a human to close my account he tried to tell me his name was Bill. Clearly that was a lie. Also I would not recommend anyone using this. If I could give it a negative 100 I would and apparently I have to give them at least a star because it's required. The star I gave is by force not by choice. A negative is what I would give.

I have a pending transaction that was made by a merchant by mistake, (amount) was corrected and payment deleted on merchant side within 20 minutes of error. Was told by 3 different people from Chime that I would have to wait 3 different time frames for it to fall off. First was 3 days (business days) then 5 days and now 7 which means I will not have access to my money for over 11 days. The merchant did make the mistake but corrected but Chime will not take the initiative to release my money even when I provided them with a contact to clear it up.

I know it can be done because other banks I have used in the past have helped out when this happens. All 3 "agents" at Chime were condescending - rude and blamed each other for the mistakes. I was told that I had the wrong department yet it was their computer that sent me there. I have no faith in them. I need a bank that will not hold my money "hostage". I even explained that I have payments bouncing - can't go to the grocery store etc. until the money is released. I was told I should plan my bills better???

I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with them after being on hold for a half hour and they couldn’t find any issues with my account or debit card! The guy had me drive around to different atms and registers trying the card over and over he had me change my pin several times and he could not see any reason why it would not work. He put on hold for a supervisor, another 20 minutes, who then also had me go to another atm and try again and told me to send them a picture of the error code there was no codes just a message saying “invalid transaction”! So 3 hours on the phone, almost a half a tank of gas and I have no access to my money now! They asked me if I have a “friend” that I can transfer to and have them withdraw the cash for me and give it me!!! Outrageous!!!

The only options I have is to wait for a new debit card (because I’m going to trust a second one) or transfer the money to another one of my personal accounts which will take 5 business days!!!! I need that money so badly now and they have no resolution and no answers for why there’s even a problem with their debit card! All they kept telling me was that “on their end they can see that everything is active and enabled…no issues at all”! But they apologized several times which does not help me get my money!! I asked them to not deactivate the card until I received the new one and activated that one which they said was fine and literally five minutes later I received an email that they now deactivated the card!

As soon as get my money out I am completely DONE with this company who has no idea about their own **!! Chime is a horrible company and I really wish I would have read reviews first!! I have been a customer for quite some time. This past Friday, somebody was able to access my account and change my telephone number and cancel both my Credit Builder and Debit card. I wasn’t aware until Saturday morning around 0740. You would think you would be able to contact customer service for fraudulent activity, but guess what? You can’t!!! Called the 800 number listed and per their lovely IVR system “my number is not on file and since I can’t verify the last four digits on my card I would need to EMAIL customer support.” What in the actual??

So then it began, I emailed, no response. Then it seems the hacker started disputing charges I have made and was getting them credited to my account. Each email I responded to and begged for someone to contact me. Still no response. Next, received an email that an external account was linked. Disputed that via email with no response. Now $1100 was being transferred, disputed that via email. No response. All this was all before Noon. I continued to email support and was not receiving a response at all. Finally on Sunday I posted in their Facebook page that I have attempted to contact them regarding fraudulent activity on my account and was not getting a response. Around 2100 on Sunday, received an email wanting me to verify my identity. Actually three different ones. Did everything they asked and was finally able to get into my account.

Took it upon myself to call them since they had not contacted me regarding the transfers and disputes. First time, dude was flustered and didn’t understand the situation, he ended up hanging up in me. Me already irate called back and spoke to someone else. Once again explaining the situation and said he was going to file a dispute and I didn’t need to do anything else. I asked him to verify that they received all of the emails I sent (>40) and he stated he could see them. Well, Monday was a holiday and wasn’t expecting anything. Tuesday I received an email that Chime was closing my account and would no longer be doing business with me. They would be mailing me my additional funds after 30 days. The heck you will!

Tried calling their number again and the IVR informs me that my account was closed and if I needed any assistance I would need to EMAIL support. This is ridiculous. Then I started my barrage of emails to the unmanned support line and getting informed that I will need to wait 30 days to receive any funds. In these emails I informed them that I was self employed and they requested money back from my vendors. Now my vendors put my account on hold due to now owing on past invoices. I requested that I wanted documentation of my dispute and their findings for them to close my account without even a phone call for common courtesy. Last time I checked, I was the victim in this situation.

Also stated that I was in shock that I finally was able to speak to someone on a Sunday and since Monday was a holiday they could close my account Tuesday before noon. Where was the investigation? What about the money they sent to some external bank? Still crickets…. This afternoon I received an email asking to verify my mailing address and they would be sending a check via express mail. I’ll believe it when I see it, Being that I was all over the transactions I was notified of, you would think they would if responded sooner. I’ve never given them or had to dispute anything before do this took me by surprise. Please do not do business with them since they do not value your security and cannot protect yourself if and when someone else gets your information, I’m still trying to get an answer.

I was only trying to let the company know I had their card and to shut it off for them. Now to the unbelievable part. There is NO number for lost Chime Cards anywhere on their site, or on the card itself. I called the one "customer service" number that is on the card and on their website. I sat for a long time and listened to every option hoping to be able to speak to someone. Not only did I not get to let them know I had their customer's card, but I never got any real information. The automated messages for each area were more like advertisements for the company. I felt like it was maybe written by a young child for a school project or something. Sounded very unprofessional.

When I went to their website, more of the same. No information on lost cards EXCEPT a statement of (paraphrased) 'If you lose your card you need to block the transactions' ... the best part, they don't tell you how to do that. I just wanted to keep their customer safe, but they were not having it. No way, no how. I would suggest anyone who has such non-cerebral communication for their customers and won't help you keep your money secure needs to be absolved. Just my honest opinion. Just tried to help ...

I have been in good standing, have my direct deposit going in regularly, so when I disputed a charge for 101.00 to a supplement's company, I would hope it would be handled like other banks...BUT NO... I entered my info, emailed supplement's info, and still nothing. No communication. But the biggest problem, they don't credit you when you start the dispute.. I was originally upset about this.. But now 28 days later I really don't think they are going to rectify my dispute, so I'm now researching other banks to see if this is par for the course or just Chime... So if you ever think you may dispute a charge then Chime is not for you, as they will not refund the disputed bill.

Later the day I woke up from a long day after work and checked my account and notice that $720 was taken out of my account. The first thing I thought to do was to check if I had my card then I called chime support and let the know what just happened. But they informed me that nothing can be done until the transactions was done pending. Two days later I got an email saying that chime denied my dispute claim because their investigation claim that there was no error with my account. So in one business day chime was “able” to investigate and come to an conclusion that I was not scammed out of $720 dollars leaving me with only $15 dollars in my account on Christmas Eve. No way in knowing how I will pay the rest of my bills. CHIME is UNPROFESSIONAL and was quick to assume that I wasn’t a victim of credit card fraud.

So I signed up for Chime, sent them my ID picture of my face, all that stuff. Everything went through fine. Got the debit card in the mail and everything. Upon my very first paycheck deposit direct from the company I work for I was locked out of my account with NO indication as to why. The only good thing about this experience is that the deposit was canceled and sent back to the sender so I didn't have to deal with Chime anymore. They wanted proof of ID (which you need to send them to sign up for their site), my social security card and a bill of some kind sent to the place I live. Well I have no bills directed to me personally at the place I live so I sent them the letter from my employer, I sent them mail from insurance, I sent them mail I got from paypal, I sent my ID and my social security card. They did not accept it.

The customer representative I spoke with on the phone with was nice. I asked him "does Chime do this with all their customers? Allow them to sign up send a debit card and when a deposit is made lock their account?" He said "No" yet couldn't give me any specific reason it happened to me. Maybe they thought I looked like a criminal based on the photo in my ID, I really don't know. I literally couldn't have done anything suspicious as all I did was sign up and get a deposit. The deposit had my name on it, the same address as my ID. There was absolutely NO conflicting information I gave them ANYWHERE.

Now I have to wait almost a full week longer to receive my paycheck. I would never recommend this service, and my story alone (without me even trying to convince them as I didn't know they were even considering Chime) has convinced someone I know not to use Chime when they had been considering it. GOOD! The fact that this isn't a standard thing is what upsets me the most. What about ME made them suspicious? I could see that if the address on my ID wasn't the same as the address I gave, or SOMETHING... but no nothing of the sort. And then why would they say "Congratulations you've successfully opened a deposit account" if they were going to lock it the very first time I got a deposit? UNNACCEPTABLE! The entire experience makes me feel discriminated against. The entire experience was TERRIBLE.

I’ve been with Chime for a couple years now. Bank is pretty mediocre. There’s been a lot of problems with false charges and I’m not the only customer to have this issue. They always have issues with the new cards you have to set up. The info in their system never matches what your new card says so they send out a new one and it’s the same cycle of waiting 2 weeks with fingers crossed. They do have a virtual temp card but they canceled mine because I had a fraud charge. They have “no idea how it happened” (I’ve only used this card on Apple Pay for a couple of stores so pretty sure either they are getting hacked or they sell info) and they left me with 0 access to my money until I get a card.

It’s been almost 3 weeks and customer support is terrible. Nobody in support knows how to fix anything but reset a password or send a new card like that’s going to help while already waiting for a card. You can definitely tell they outsourced their customer support overseas so that says a lot anyways. Also, a lot of places won’t even take this bank. I'm heavily considering canceling my bank and credit card with them.

First of all - I really love Chime overall, the Spot Me feature, no fees or overdrafts, etc. I’ve reached a point though where I need to move on to a “big boy” bank since Chime doesn't offer joint accounts and constantly transferring money back and forth between my wife and I is getting annoying. Another major thing is that Chime is treated like a pre-paid debit card by most vendors. I’ve ran into an issue recently where I was not able to rent a car due to them not accepting Chime. And going to a Family Dollar to deposit cash is getting tiresome as well - it just feels like you’re not really part of an actual bank. This is great for young singles and personally, I absolutely hate big banks - it pains me to move to Chase - but until they actually develop themselves as a “real bank”, I need to move on.

Chime is inconsistent. They lure you in by getting your direct deposit about 5 to 6 days early. After that don't expect it until the designated date of employer, or benefit date. They will lower your spot me without any reason why, and will not post to your account the bonus 5 dollars you're supposed to received from friends called boost. I have had 3 months where friends sent boost never to be credited to my account but have my spot me account lowered from 60 to 50 to now 5 dollars. Their reps are all remote half the time dealing with screaming children or other domestic affairs, and any correspondence sent is never answered but then you are penalized for complaining or stating missing monies.

It's better to go with an establishment that has second chance banking if need be or credit union. These new banking companies are not consistent and I fear will become more predatory as time goes on. I do not recommend. Do yourself a favor. Establish a relationship with a bank or credit union you will be able to secure loans, lines of credit, and buy a home. This is not the way to do it. Don't get suckered into taking the easy way out. There is never an easy way, and nothing is for free, which sets off red flags with chime. Good luck

As of August 2021, I will never trust this corporation with my money again. It all started when I had to reach out for the 3rd time that mouth about a reoccurring fraudulent charge (Suspicions in itself). In result of feeling disrespected and abandoned by the folks who have access to quite literally all of money, the conversation became unproductive and emotional.

At some point I mentioned how hard this situation was making my life since I had zero wiggle room in my paychecks. I then close the conversation out of anger. Within the hour, a local sheriff is at my door. He says he’s responding to a potential “self-harm risk”. I am in awe. Chime assumed I was a danger to myself, with no supporting evidence even alluding to that. When I confront the “chat” agent in the app after the officer had left, I demanded to know what warranted that 911 call. I never got a response. I tried to reach them a lot in fact, now my help feature in the app is always on “maintenance mode”. I have screenshots of every conversation regarding this. There was no risk to even be assessed, so I feel violated and plan on taking further legal action against them, considering what started this in the first place. Be *very* careful around Chime.

Basically Chime has tried to stop me from receiving my provisional credit from my dispute I placed for 113 transactions. On the 9th day chime closed my dispute as completed and consider all transactions that took place were no error. (I have provided written proof that I was in mental Facility during the transactions in question.) I also provided a police report as the perps who did this are individual who was working for the facility I was admitted in due to them having my belongings (phone, wallet, etc during my time there) however, chime denied and completed my dispute unlawfully, unprofessionally and unethically.

Chime did not at the time of closure contact any merchants in question (as I have been dealing with them already). Chime also did not (if they did contact merchants) wait for a merchant to respond to an error or no error transaction confirmation which will determine which disputes are valid and what disputes are not. (I have mention this to chime individuals multiple times.)

Here is where We have an issue. I Justin ** ask chime for my provisional credit (you ask why do I ask for that when this is a rebuttals). Simply in order for this to be a rebuttals my original dispute needed to be completed correctly (contacting merchants, awaiting the 45 days they have to reply if not sooner to determine the authenticity of the transactions.) That did not occur with chime on August 3rd so the dispute was never completed to be denied. (This is why I ask for my provisional credit) also, the dispute is 113 transactions and ironically it was completed the day before the provisional credit is allowed.

This brings me down to this. It’s not just 100-300 dollars. It’s over 11,000 dollars. This has affected not only my household but my ability to maintain my self awareness and mental health along with me taking care of my kids. (6 months prior my kids' mother died. A month before my mental health issue my mother died) so all I’ve been asking and begging for is help to maintain and I get nothing. No one wants to assist me like where is the customer service? However today has been the day at 1119 I get an email responding back to my email stating “They are working on my claim and that visa has up to 44 days to respond. This is a lot of information and we want to look through it correctly as the Merchant wants to do the same.” I know right but just a few days ago you denied my claim in 9 days but today you saying that the merchant has this much time and have not realized back to my claims status yet (but you denied my dispute how so?)

So after I speak with Veronica a supervisor she says basically is really rude, cutting me off, speaking over me, has no respect for me or for my situation or the fact that my kids are literally sitting here watch me cry and yell and they suffer from being hungry. At this point I hung the phone up on her rude disrespectful **. Now it’s 1140ish and I received emails from dispute dept stating my redispute also has been declined. While there are definite positives to banking at Chime, to me, the negatives far outweigh them. Some positives are that you often get direct deposits a day or two quicker, which is nice. And you can overdraw a certain amount (starts at $20 I think - despite their claims about $100, and slowly moves up. After 2 years I'm at $80) without any fees. There aren't any of those pesky bank fees which is nice; however, I'd rather pay a small fee and get decent service, which brings me to the negatives.

Dispute process is an absolute joke - they don't reimburse you for 10 business days and the entire process is a huge hassle. Literally anytime I've needed assistance they've been unable to assist me. Their mobile check deposit system is really picky and only works with zero shadows on the check and all of these other conditions that are difficult to meet. They often send you emails that are the exact opposite of what is going on (for example: today I got an email saying my card got disabled due to fraud but I had discussed disabling my card tomorrow at midnight with an agent. Turns out my card isn't disabled after all.)

And don't even try to deposit cash -- it's an absolute nightmare. You literally have to go to Walmart or 7-11 and pay a significant fee to deposit it it's comical. I do not recommend this, especially with all the fraud out there. Better to stick to a real bank even though you have to pay fees and wait a little longer for your check. It'll be worth it when stuff goes wrong, trust me.

They are trying to say that it was released back to my account but it wasn't. Not only that but they also completely make the hold transaction disappear. They were not helpful at all with getting my money back to me. And they need to not take hold transactions off of your statements. It should be in there that it was taken out then when it is refunded back it should show that also.

They tried telling me that it was taken out of my funds when it clearly was. If you look at my transactions before it disappeared it clearly shows where it was subtracted from my money and it was never added back to my account. Have to say I am very disappointed in this because I really do like them but this is absolutely ridiculous that they cannot see that it was never added back to my account. It is VERY frustrating that they boast about their two-day early direct deposits, when in actuality it is VERY RARE that they even deposit my paycheck in my account two days early. It's very willy-nilly on the timing. Also, they are VERY hard to reach. I had an issue trying to pay bills online. The only way to "talk" with anyone at Chime was through their chat. It's frustrating that every time I had to get out of chat to do what they had me do, I would get another person and have to start my story over and over and over and over and over and over. I finally got so tired of re-explaining things I just paid another way on all my bills.

Additionally, I cannot get their mobile deposit part of the app to work. None of the checks I've tried to deposit are ever accepted. The best part of Chime is the Spot Me part of their app. It's nice that if you accidentally go over your balance by a couple of dollars that your aren't charged $30, $40, $50 or more dollars. As a teacher, I live on a very tight budget, as we only get paid once a month. I chose Chime because my husband passed away and I was relocating for jobs. It's nice when moving jobs that I don't have to keep closing accounts and opening accounts. I can provide my employer immediate account info for direct deposit. Absolutely love this card. Helpful in all aspects of managing account as well as their credit builder card is helpful as far as getting my credit score back on track. Would recommend this card to anyone that's tired of the runaround with traditional banking institutions.

I opened this account basically just to get my direct deposits into. However, I have opened up a bank account, savings account, a credit card, and debit card without any chance of overdrawing this account. This was my first actual bank account all by myself at 42 years old. When I say I cannot over draw my bank account, I mean that they front you money until your next paycheck comes in without being penalized for doing so. I also get my paycheck a day early. However, when I was a temporary at my job I did get it 2 days early. So that depends on your HR department at work as well.

When I need help, there is a virtual assistant in my mobile online banking. However, if that doesn't do the job you can call to talk with a customer representative. Every time I needed help my problem was resolved immediately. I have learned a lot using Chime without being criticized for my ignorance to how banking works. I also was able to link my bank account that I share with my husband. I enjoy using CHIME BANKING and recommend it to anyone wanting a new account.

Chime has been nothing but great for me. I get my paycheck and other allotments early, they spot me up to a hundred bucks instead of charging me fees and not clearing the transaction. I don’t have to worry about any hidden fees either. Moving to chime was the best decision I ever made. Now the brick and mortar banks are trying to imitate chime while discrediting it at the same time. I am also a veteran so my disability also got to chime and there are times when I get it three or four days early. If you don’t do anything else this year, give chime a try and I bet you will not regret it. You may not want to use regular banks ever again after using chime. Thanks.

At first I was skeptical about going through a banking app. I had heard so many mixed reviews, but I've been dealing with Chime almost over 6 months now and I actually Love It. They're understanding when you have questions, The No Fee Overdraft is amazing and they have many no fee ATMs around the city that are easy to find and withdraw money. Also I have a Chime Credit Builder Card and just within a month my credit has went up 50+ points. I LOVE THEM and I recommend to any and everyone.

I do everything with Chime all the way up to fixing my credit so I can buy a house next year. Anyone can use this card. It's great for elderly people to get financial help when they need it. The money goes straight to their card for quick use.

I have had Chime for about 4 years, and I can honestly say it's the best thing! I love that spot me has my back when I get in a rough spot. And credit builder is amazing! My credit score went from low 500s to over 700 in less than a year. Customer service has always been amazing too. Also the app is so easy and convenient, I always know where I'm at financially. Best bank ever!

Decided to use Chime debit card for the first time specifically to make monthly rental payments. Had no idea (guess I didn't read the fine print) that the daily spending limit was only 2500.00. Well I paid a few smaller bills online with my Chime card, then when I tried to pay my rent, it declined the transaction even though the funds were there. So now Chime has my money but I can't use it for 24hours? Can't even transfer the funds into another account! Not good when your rent is late! Can't even get gas for my car! Will only use a brick and mortar bank now to pay pay major bills. Customer Service agent was sympathetic but of absolutely no use to me.
