    I was unhappy with final amount, because I was sure I made it clear I wanted $20,000 cash at closing. I only received $8294.47. I had questioned the the amount at one point when it showed around $18,000, and was assured it would be more at closing. I believe Julian must have forgotten that conversation. This miscommunication is my only complaint, everything else about the process was fine.

    My experience with New Day Financial was HORRIBLE! Long delays and excuses. Colten Parker-Cross Drawbaugh. Yesterday this happened with Colten VP of Customer Service…He wrote my account number incorrectly, called me to tell me the wire transfer wouldn’t go through then said he would call me right back once he realized he substituted a 6 for a 0. That was AFTER promising me the transfer would be in my account 5/27 by 5:30 p.m. It delayed my mortgage closing and cost me a ton of money and stress.

    24 hours later… HE STILL HASN’T CALLED ME BACK. I called the office and someone told me he knew I was waiting on a call and would call me back as soon as he was out of a meeting, That was yesterday so…. called back and was told he is out of the office. Asked for his supervisor and was advised he WAS the supervisor. After a heated conversation was finally told someone named TREVOR is his supervisor. Slow response, delays and failure to meet promised deadlines then excuses. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE LAW and payout according to promised deadline.

    In an already very difficult situation COLTEN made it SO MUCH WORSE. Wish I could give negative stars

    The worst experience in obtaining a loan we've ever had. This is NOT the fault of New Day employees. They did everything they could to get the loan approved by the lawyers. We missed two attempts to close waiting on these people to agree to the loan. Problem: No communication between people receiving the loan request and lawyers reviewing the request. No sense of urgency; VA personnel/departments do not use the same computer systems/apps. Obvious they are not there to help home buyer thru the process. The whole process is broken. However, I can only say good things about New Day employees attempting to get information, provide information, and stay on top of the VA employees. They had to be frustrated but didn't show that to us. Someone needs to fix this VA broken process. Just being on the same apps would be a great start. Contact us if you want more information.

    To get equity from home, pay off debt, and some extra to extend bedroom. There were some bumps in the road, but Brandon ** did an excellent job getting over those bumps, one was military status, the second issue was the appraisal which did not help us but after they investigated, he was able to get a reappraisal, and lastly the notary did not show up on time, he was able to get rescheduled.

    Tried New Day 5 years ago, and was declined, even with an 800 credit score. Attempted again 3 months ago. It took way too long, two separate contact people, after almost 3 full months, finally went to close. The 1st contact, disappeared, without any notification to me at all. After not hearing from anyone for over two weeks, I was finally contacted by the 2nd customer service person, and was rejected again.

    Got our mortgage through NewDay but after refusing to refinance from 2.25% to 6.5% they sold our mortgage after telling us when we originally financed that they wouldn’t. I wish the leadership would look into this and stop saying we are here for the veterans until it isn’t so.

    From day one, NewDay USA could not handle my escrow account, totally incompetent. They could never seem to do the simple task of knowing what my insurance and expenses were and tailoring that to my payment so my escrow account would be right when they were due. Now they have sold my loan to freedom mortgage and prior to selling my loan inadvertently paid a $5200 Insurance bill to a company I have canceled. I am still in the process of getting my refund and all seems to be going well with the insurance company after a three way conversation with new day and the insurance company I have canceled with. New day admitted the wrong payment was their fault and made it the wrong time due to an incompetent staff. I would never do business with NewDay again, and hopefully I will be thankful that they sold my loan to freedom mortgage before this is all over!

    I have had several VA loans in my 75yrs. This has been the most expensive I have ever experienced. Every week or so I have been requested to go thru another inspection and repair. We got a VA loan 5 years ago on this same house and did not go thru this much anguish and frustration and expense. We were told that we would wind up with $10K in the bank but only got a little over $4K. Plus the payoff in bills was supposed to be complete but several checks was less than actually less than owed an we did not charged on them. I have left messages for Blane ** and he is busy and have not gotten a call back yet. He usually calls back promptly.

    This was our second time working with New Day USA. The first time was such a great experience that we decide to work with you again. This time was a completely different experience. When we put the home under contract the builder shared incentives from the preferred lenders. I shared this information with our New Day rep and he clearly stated that they would be able to match those incentives. The first term sheet showed $1,300 in offers by New Day towards our closing costs. I again shared the incentives and rates from the builder's preferred lender. Our New Day rep assured me they could match those incentives.

    I was then asked if I wanted to do 100% financing or put down 10% and get a better rate. I asked for a few days to weigh the options and I got back to our rep (Mitchell Sinicropi) and told him we would do the 10% down.

    The next several weeks brought frustration. I asked about the rate and terms and every time we had the conversation he said he couldn't remember if we were doing 100% or putting down 10%. He also asked what the incentives were from the builder (I shared it with him several times) and so I told him I would have our agent send it to him. This kept dragging on with no commitment until I got a call that we had a closing date. I was then told that putting down 10% would not affect the interest rate and he had no recollection of any incentives from the builder's preferred lender. I went to my email, found the email from our agent and forwarded it to him (he was on the original email). A few days later I asked again about New Day paying some of our closing costs and he said I would have to get a quote from the lender and then they might be able to match it. At this point we were 8 days from our closing date!

    Mr. ** wanted us to get a quote from a lender that we were NOT going to use so that they could maybe match the $4,200 towards closing costs and I made it clear that I was not comfortable with that and that if New Day was going to do something why not just do it instead of making me jump through a bunch of hoops. He had no response. In the end we closed due to the time crunch and I believe that New Day covered $150 in our closing cost fees. I feel that I was being delayed intentionally, knowing it was all just a shell game intended to get us too close to our closing date to start the process over again with a new lender. I am extremely disappointed and will NEVER recommend or work with New Day USA again. I feel like I was screwed over and that the TV ads about caring about our veterans is simply not true.

    I was very surprised at all of the additional fees and costs for administrative, title and closing costs for Veterans. Also it took almost 2 months for the entire process. My agent was gone for a week, although I had a replacement it was disruptive. I was told 2 months from closing would be my first payment. I closed 1 Aug.. My mortgage which is 1000 dollars more is a challenge on a fixed income.

    They were not truthful from the beginning and made it seem like they were trying to help me when they were not. For example, we discussed that I was going to refinance my home, consolidate my debt and borrow $10,000 cash for repairs with an estimated monthly payment of $1,434. Instead of allowing me to borrow $10,000 cash, they raised the fees for the closing costs and gave me the closing costs.

    When I brought it up I was told that I could drop off one of my debts to balance the loan amount. Then they added a $1,350 repair that had to be done from the home inspection and raised my monthly payment to $1,534 which is a lot more for a small amount over 30 years when I mentioned it, I was told that my debt was still getting paid off but really not all of my debt was paid because I had to drop one thing in order to receive the $10,000 that we discussed from the beginning even though it was just the closing cost fees that magically increased to equal right amount.

    They lied to us. They made me get contractors in to do repairs, said they would all be included in the end and would pay contractors and never did. If I had all of the application information at the start the process would have been less in delay in obtaining the extra information at the last minute.     I called and spoke to Chad. Told him specifically on a recorded line I wanted to inquire about an equity loan on my present home. He asked me the reason. I told him. He proceeded to take info, run my credit and then called back days later with info on a complete refinance! I said what? I never wanted to refinance as I have a great rate. He said “Oh we don't do home equity loans”. I asked why we proceeded with this application. He said “well I was trying to get you to refinance!” He is unethical, and he acted like it was no big deal that he did something I did not ask for did not need and now has a hard hit on my credit.

    Do not use New Day mortgage especially do not deal with anyone named Chad. He recorded everything that was said but by now I’m sure that he has deleted it all because my initial conversation with him was about a home equity line of credit or a home equity loan based on the fact that I have equity on my home, and he proceeded to do all complete refinance of home at a much higher rate, which is absolutely not what I wanted and he knew that. He should have told me up front that they don't do home equity mortgages. What a despicable customer service representative he is. Stay away from Chad!

    In the beginning of our refinance we were told by your representative that we would not be paying for our January and February mortgage payment. We closed the refinance process on the 6th of January. Under normal circumstances we have the Automatic Payment set-up to withdraw the money from our checking account on the 10th of the month, which would be a Sunday. So, on the 11th of this month the Auto-Payment actually occurred despite being told that it would not! $3575 may not seem like a lot to some people but for us it is. I tried contacting your representative by text message, by email, and by voicemail. We have YET to hear from your representative. My wife did call your Customer Service to talk with someone regarding the payment. She talked with a woman and received somewhat of an explanation as to what had occurred.

    Some of the questions I have going forward are 1) What is the true time period for our upcoming payment schedule? Will it be, as the "Letter of First Payment states " March 1st, 2024? 2) Where did the payment did go if we had already closed with all the numbers set on paper? Did you receive an extra Interest and principal payment of $2825+/- ? 3) If I have all of this wrong in some way shape or form would someone give us a call to explain why I have it all wrong?

    I have no problem with Philip **! He was great! My issue is with the way the checks are handled. It has been over a month since I closed and one of the checks is still out. They are not cashable. The one was 'denied' by my creditor. A new check was issued, I sent it (2nd time) on Dec. 6 and it still hasn't shown up at the creditor. I am paying the interest still. With one of the creditors, I recently paid them off myself so now I'm waiting to get the next statement so I can show you it's paid so that you can issue another check to me. I did just receive a statement a couple of days ago and it still has the $1,900 balance. I understand a check to the courthouse had a problem also and wasn't paid and had to be either re-issued or corrected. I would use Philip ** again if he went with a different lender but I will not use New Day again. It's too messy and still not finished. I was a Realtor for 20 years and I never saw such a mess.

    In taking the time (30m+) to provide this review, which I believe is important, as it hopefully results in addressing the issues I experienced throughout the process, I will try to be as fair as possible while keeping it brief. One word would sum up my overall dissatisfaction with my VA loan from NewDay USA and that is: COMMUNICATION, or lack thereof as I literally had to, on several occasions, call, email, or text multiple times to get updates, answer questions, or speak with my loan officer.

    This is of the utmost importance, especially for the consumer, who has never taken out or gone through the process of a VA loan - it was very frustrating at times and not necessary at all. Even though there was a "portal" to upload docs, check on progress, etc...it was never up to date and I did not know where I stood in providing requested documentation many times. In addition to that, the requirements needed for someone with excellent credit (800+), great stability, and overall an ideal candidate for the program seemed excessive and unwarranted. Although, I am grateful the loan finally closed, and was able to complete it all in what seemed to be a timely manner, I would hope that the communication, expectations, and efficiency could improve for the next applicant.

    The LO and assistant managing the loan process were both respectful and understanding of my issues each time we spoke, so that was a good thing to make up for the bad. In the big picture, this was my "plan B" as my current residence had not sold yet to use the equity to purchase my new home, but hopefully that will happen soon enough and I can pay this loan off in the next few months. Despite having to go through all of this, the time, aggravation, expense, etc, it was worth it as I would not have been able to purchase my new home without NewDay. I would cautiously recommend them to friends and family, but absolutely be certain of expectations and results. On a side note, I do miss the spokeswoman for the TV commercials.

After finding out that on a previous VA loan, I had a foreclosure (4 years ago), he kept making me believe I had a good chance of being approved, but after being on the phone for over an hour apparently I wasn’t approved. I say this because after being told he had to consult with his supervisor and that he’d call me back in an hour, he never did. I mean, I understand that there was a chance I wasn’t going to be approved, but he was informed of my foreclosure before he even pulled my credit report and didn’t even bother to call me back after saying he would.

    This company is really for Veterans and not just saying it to get a bunch of secured VA loans. They work with you and pay for your appraisal and termite inspections (if needed). They are willing to allow you to borrow up to the total value of your house where other companies only allow 90%. They provide upfront information on the loan and ways with the freed-up disposal cash in which you can pay you mortgage off faster. Not to mention they keep you in the know when interest rates decline and will reach out to you when it is beneficial if you choose to refinance at a lower rate. Second time homeowner and by far the best experience in dealing with a VA lender. I don't see me ever switching lenders.

    This was such an easy process. Colson ** was fantastic, he was there for anything we needed and helped us through every step of the way. Everything was explained in detail, any questions we had were answered right away, if he didn't have the answer he would find out for us. We felt so comfortable talking to him and helping us with the process. We were very weary of doing this but now that it's done, we believe we made the right choice and would highly recommend you guys to anyone.
