My experience with Greenlight is fairly good. The loan person was pretty responsive. We had to redo a couple of things but that always happens. I didn't have any major issues. They were fairly upfront. It took a little bit longer than it should have, but the loan officer tried to keep it up to speed.

Overall my experience was great. All the people at Nationstar really worked hard to complete my refinance on schedule and with no surprises. Only negative of the whole process is there seems to be some disconnects between their departments that caused me to go back to find more paperwork to scan and send and that did end up delaying my closing date.

We were with Nationstar from the beginning. We inquired about refinancing with them for lower rate. They made it easy. They have all our information and they gave us a great rate most people couldn't give us and we had to go through all the background again. So it was easier. My wife did most of the process and I think she had a good experience. They seem to keep in contact with her and kept her in the loop on what was going on, so the communication was great. The discussion of refinancing options was also great.
For the longest time, nobody could do anything with us because we paid our bills on time and we didn't qualify for any of the government help, so once we qualified for something, they were very helpful in explaining our options and took care of it. We now have more money in our bank account, lower interest rate and lower payment. Nationstar was very professional. We were very happy with them. They arranged for the signing and we had a local person who came over to the house. Overall it was a great experience.

I did not have a good experience. They never cared to help me. I tried to refinance since 2009. They would call and offer, tell me I qualified and then take weeks to turn me down after all. I also applied for assistance due to hardship. They didn't do it, I had go catch up on my own - would not even reduce the late charges even though I was out of work due to illness! I caught up and finally this year I got refinanced. Of course they took an extra month to do it in. So I would not recommend them.

I've been with Nationstar since April 2014. Since that time, I've only needed to talk to Nationstar a few times. They were efficient at helping me when I needed to change my payments to the Accelerated Equity Program. However, this week I attempted to log into my account online and had forgotten my password. After 3 attempts, they locked me out of my account. I couldn't get in until I called. I wasn't happy about having to do so. I would have preferred it unlock after an hour or so. When I called, I gave my info and then was promptly transferred to someone else. I had to give my info again which irritated me. Then the rep hung up on me! Needless to say, I went to Twitter and complained. Immediately, someone messaged me and asked to help. At that same time, I was calling back. The rep who answered was able to unlock my account without having to transfer me. I was glad about that but irritated it took 2 calls and 3 people to do it.

My loan with Bank of America was sold to Nationstar Mortgage. Brett called me to let me know that the rates would be lower if I refinance my mortgage. He was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, and I felt the same way about Julie, the girl who processed my loan and finished everything. The guidance I received was good but the only thing that I did not like was I was promised a certain interest rate and didn't receive it. Also, I was told that the loan was going to be free but I still ended up having to pay. I was still happy at the end because the rate was still not bad, but I had to pay for the loan. So all in all, I was a little bit upset but because of their professionalism and the way they handled it, I'm still really happy with them right now. Even though it didn't go exactly the way I wanted it, I really would still highly recommend both of them to my friends.
I think I lost my cool with them a few times, but not once did they raise their voice at me or were rude to me. They were really professional. Seriously, they were wonderful. They had a lot of patience with me, because I didn't know much about the loan process. I've had other experiences and they were not the same with other companies. Anytime I needed to contact them, they either answered their phone or called me back right away, within an hour or two. I was never put off. They helped me with two mortgages, and I just can't tell you what a relief it has been for me. Refinancing my loan has resulted in lower payments and I was able to save quite a bit of money total with both of them - over $1,000 a month. I can't tell you how grateful I am.

My interest rate was way too high so I needed to refinance. I already had the mortgage with Nationstar so it was easy for me to work it with them. I wound up talking to them for about two years before doing something because the options they provided weren’t that attractive. So I waited until it seemed like it was a better deal for me than what I heard previously. What we went for is a shorter period of time and a little bit lower payments. I’ve done other financings in as short as two weeks but this one took about four months, five months, so although they were very nice, it just seemed to take a long time.

Nationstar sent me an email today asking me to share how Nationstar's services have made an impact on our life. They also offered to put our name into a drawing for a free iPad if I filled out this review. Well I doubt my name will be drawn after they read this! But it will be worth it to get to tell our story! It's ironic that this email came today, because we just returned from closing on the sale of our house which was mortgaged by Nationstar.
Having to deal with Nationstar has been a Nightmare! In short they have refused repeated requests to change our payment due date and they have lost payments made online. Both of these have caused outrageous late fees and bad marks on our credit. Most of all they have been absolutely impossible to deal with regarding these issues. Even this week, when we are within 48 hrs of closing on the sale of this home, Nationstar refused to give the Title Company the payoff amount due to "security" concerns, even though they were given a signed release, commonly used the real estate industry, that was sent to them weeks ago. It was only after we logged into the online system and "cleared" it did they release the payoff amount to us! The Title company got the required info hours before the closing time! I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, inept company. I rather live in a cardboard box than to use Nationstar as a mortgage company again!

This is the worst company I've ever worked with. I've had a lot of problems with them. My mortgage was transferred to Nationstar. I wanted to refinance to lower the payments. I wrote them three letters and never got any answers until about three weeks ago, I got a letter saying somebody will contact me. I want to highlight that they are not communicating with their clients like me. Not only do they not answer my questions, but they do not answer at all. Well, they responded, but it took more than eight weeks to do so and my questions were never really answered. Some action has been done, meaning, some transfer of money happened, and not to fight about it, but there shouldn't be a lot of problems like simple things such as answering clients timely. As for my refinancing options, it took a lot of time for them to establish what I need. We finally did but it took too long. They were able to lower my payments but only by a very little amount, i.e., $100. That's nothing. It was a very bad experience for me. I would make sure when I would talk to anybody to make a note of my opinion.

I think it's very unfair, that when a family hits a financial crisis in their life, where they have to declare bankruptcy, that they should be treated like they are a second class customer. You place them in a special category of customer, change or take away ways in which we can pay payments, charge extra fees if we pay over the phone. I don't know what your problem is but you really should take a new look at your policies and bring them up to the 21st century. You have my account and I have no control of that, but I can tell you that if I was able to I would transfer somewhere else in the blink of an eye. If you would have bothered to investigate, you would have found that since purchasing this property we have never missed a monthly payment, and for the last 5 years we have never missed a bankruptcy payment either.

Since May 2014, Nationstar has been sending back my checks uncashed. The amount I am remitting is the dollar amount stipulated in the Note, which is the same Note I made in 2001 and which has never been changed. Although I pay my own taxes, Nationstar continues to send duplicate payments and then gets refunds (see refund check and letter from the Town from the October School Taxes/image attached).
However - and this is the problem - they are ADDING these refunds to what they claim I owe!!! This amounts to asking me to pay my taxes twice. Since I refuse to send Nationstar these funds, they consider my loan in default - although it is not. They also have tried to get me to short sell - Why? I don't want to sell nor do I need to. Or they want me to modify. Again, why would I bother? I have ample and regular income, I am not 'under water,' my mortgage is lower than the value of my property, so the situation doesn't qualify for modification. Nationstar isn't a corporation; it's a runaway freight train. Someone needs to stop it in its tracks!

When you refinance, usually you get a month free, and I think that's the cost to get them up. So I know I could have probably done better. On the plus side they did what they said they were doing: I did get a reduction in my mortgage though I don't think it turned out as good for me as it should have.

We really appreciate you sharing your experience regarding the refinance process. If there's anything we can do to improve the refinance process, we'd be glad to hear about it via private reply. Thanks! -Nationstar Customer Relations Team

My experience with Nationstar have been mostly negative. Nationstar took over 2 mortgages from BOA. I've already gone rid of 1 mortgage from Nationstar and plan on moving the next this year. Yesterday I had to call to have you move funds from the principal to escrow shortage which is where it should have been applied. You did this last year too. I sent a principal reduction payment and you applied it to the monthly payments. I never had problems with BOA and the mortgages with you it has been horrible and you only acquired them about 2 years ago. I will make a change this year. Sorry I would not recommend Nationstar to anyone. I was going to write ** the CEO but this review will suffice.

Nationstar's customer service is horrible. The agents that finally answer the phone have no power to do anything but talk nicely. I have been denied access to my accounts online and have not received a statement in over a year. How would any borrower rate a Mortgage company that refuses to send transaction history, statements or provide online access. Non existent that’s how. The Supervisors like ** and ** who I have been referred to either do not exist or do not return ANY phone calls. I have made over 30 calls to customer service over the last year and cannot get reconciliation of any of my complaints nor can I get a return phone call.

I am completely discouraged by the service I received so far from Nationstar. For almost 1 month I have been trying to resolve a payment allocation issue with multiple NationStar representatives that resulted from NationStar improperly allocating the monthly payments I have been making towards my mortgage - either on time or earlier of the scheduled date.
As of now I believe I spoke with 5-6 individuals, including supervisors, who had promised to resolve the issue, but ultimately failed. To make matters worse, they are so disjoint in the service operations that they can't even identify who was the last representative/ supervisor I spoke with last. I received multiple promises that the issue will be escalated and resolved within 1 - 2 days max, but all such promises have been broken. All I've ever received back is that the representative I last spoke had improperly made their correction request and that this time it will be done properly. This points to complete lack of training and process understanding.

I had a problem with my mortgage payment on 1/5/2015. I called to have Nationstar resubmit the payment on 1/8. I was told that could not be done and I had to make the payment over the phone then, on the 8th. I did so and the payment was made.
On 1/12, another surprise payment was deducted from my checking account, unscheduled and despite what I was told on the 8th. The gentleman on the phone took a copy of my bank records, and a UPS transaction was set up, I'm assuming to send me a check. But I have not gotten a refund yet and my bank account is still overdrawn.
There is no excuse for this, I was assured that no other payment would be taken from my account, the Nationstar representative who I spoke to on 1/8 out and out lied to me. There is no reason in the world why Nationstar could not have just redeposited the payment back into my account as soon as they got documentation of their serious and inexcusable error.
I am still waiting and I have several automatic payments coming. Nationstar has not resolved their mistake after three days and I will tell everyone I know to totally avoid this incompetent lying company.

My payment had been reversed by the company with no notice to me at all. When I called to check on this, I was told my Bank account information was incorrect. So I verified the information with the rep. He proceeded to tell me that it didn't match what I had submitted but was incorrect and I would have to check with the bank because it is an invalid account.
I explained to him that there was money in my account and that all my other payments were clearing, but he offered no assistance on his end. So I requested the ability to pay with my debit card, which is linked to the exact same account. He agreed & took all my information and at the end he informed me there is a $19.95 charge for paying by phone. So I declined that payment and stated I would make the payment online.
He then proceeded to offer me a reduced amount of $14.95. When I declined that he then offered to accept payment with no fee for processing it. In my humble opinion this is very poor customer service. This is only my second month with nationstar. We inquired reference to refinancing to a lower interest rate and that process was very good. The refinancing was great but prior to that, it wasn’t so good. They don't have an overlay preventing the type of loan I was seeking, which was really what won the loan for them.
I did have one challenge in the whole experience, where during the series of interactions about my loan, I was very clear of the loan type I was seeking, and at some point during and between underwriting and the initial time we tried to close, that loan type was changed without my knowledge and without my signature. So when we went to close, we failed. I was encouraged to close anyway, even though it was a different loan than what I was seeking.
