I originally called Nationstar about the H.A.R.P./H.E.L.M. programs, believing that it should be easier to work with my mortgage company, rather than bothering my Real Estate Broker. Wrong! My refinance took 7 months to complete... Look it up! It was a nightmare! No one knew what they were doing, could not understand the simplest of needs, such as I had gotten married so I was no longer "a single woman". Through giggles, yes, giggles, by Nationstar staff, I was told that the creators of my docs were probably confused because my spouse is also a woman. Texas still lives in the dark ages, clearly, but California has evolved!

The Texas Neanderthals could not seem to understand that my wife could be added to my re-fi docs... So... docs were incorrect... Over and over and over for different reasons. Different idiots, different doc problems. Nationstar tried to sneak various charges into my mortgage that I had to demand to be removed. Then yesterday, I received a check from Nationstar for $250. Because after auditing my account, evidently something else was wrongfully charged, although I have no idea what. Because Nationstar does not communicate except through their own secret message site that one must sign on to. But then, all messages are deleted 2 weeks later so that their own words cannot be used against them! 'What e-mail?'

When not refinancing, it is impossible to find a person who can help online or by phone, especially when one's call goes to India. I refuse to deal with someone outside my own country! Keep jobs in the United States! I will never recommend Nationstar to anyone but my enemies and I hope my mortgage is sold to another company very soon!

Obtaining our mortgage was a nightmare. We were not given current feedback. I kept asking when we could close 2 weeks in a row - I was told maybe next week. Then I was called and asked if we could close the next day. The next day I called and said OK. Then I was told I must close by Monday but couldn't close before Monday. I told her that didn't leave many options open so I guess I could close on Monday. This is just one specific incident but the majority of the process went about the same as this incident. :(

Recently, Nationstar contacted us to help us improve our already great experience with them as a mortgage company. They let us know we could reduce our loan down to 15 years and lower our payment. We worked with a really great team of folks there to get this done and they made the experience so easy - it was unbelievable. We have always been happy with their service but now even more impressed with how much they care and want to help you succeed as a homeowner. Thank you Nationstar!

I've had great customer service with Nationstar. I had to call several times for help getting my mortgage payment set up to come out of my checking account automatically. Each time the person who helped me was pleasant, helpful and easy to talk to and ask questions! The only thing I have to say a little negative is I refinance my home loan with Nationstar which is where my condo was finance with anyway. The person who I worked with originally was very helpful. At that time my concern was having any out of pocket expense. I was told with my record of payment history there would be NO money out of pocket for me. The refi expense would be worked into the loan.

As time came for the loan closure, I was told I needed to have $750.00 available at closing. I told Suzanna who was my contact that I didn't have that kind of money available. After several phone calls I was told that most of the cost would be rolled into my loan, but I still needed to have $179.00 available at closing. Also, told I would get some of that back after old mortgage was released. I did get back $145 back after a month. Thank you!!

Overall, I'd rate NSM as "meh." Their rates are middle of the pack, so no points there. The website seems to be aimed at people with poor credit or first-time home buyers, so I feel a little bit degraded when I visit. They get a point against for that. Fortunately, I don't have to visit often since my bank's online bill pay sends my payment every month. On that note, though, sometimes due to how the business days fall, the payment is not processed until after Nationstar would like for it to be. As a result, they sic their collections dogs on you, who hound incessantly until the payment is processed. Another (rather large) point against, the online system does not play nice with Mint, my chosen financial management tool, so I have to manually log in for updates rather than having these be automatic. A point against.

The main thing that NSM has going in their favor is that they did make it quick and easy to refinance our loan that was already with them. Since we're not planning to stay in the house long enough to justify the cost of refinancing with another lender, they earned a positive point for this. Like I said in the beginning, an overall "okay" lender. There are ones I would prefer, I'm sure there are ones I would not.

Since renewing my loan i went through the same procedure to have payments withdrawn automatically monthly. I get calls on a monthly basis saying my payment is late. I was told they did not have that information about automatic withdrawals. I repeated this process three times. I was told every time payment was submitted to my account it was reversed. When we were talking I mentioned that my youngest child is leaving for college next year and I don't intend to stay in the house for that many more years. The representative offered me an alternative that worked for my specific situation. I was able to refinance at an equally low rate with a 7-yr fixed that then turns to adjustable. I have all intentions of selling the house before I reach that 7-yr mark. It worked well for me.

I had a bankruptcy in 2010 and did not include my mortgage. I have had problems ever since this happened. I was locked out of online information and could not pay through the automated phone center, I was transferred always to a customer service person and charged more to talk to them to take the payment. MY bankruptcy was discharged and I did an in-house modification of my loan and was able to start paying through the automated. After almost a year of paying this way I suddenly was not able to pay anymore. Now I get transferred every time and pay 19.00 a month instead of 14.00 which you can pay all your bills online and never get charged a fee. What the hell is wrong with this company? Many people have had problems and this is the worst company I have ever had to deal with for the amount of the fees. I think this company should be looked at and there is something wrong with them that you cannot pay your payment directly out of your checking account to their account.

This is not a good company to be with and their customer service people treat you like crap and as I had told one person my payment pays their salary and they need to treat people with more respect. If I can get away from this company I will do and run like hell. I hate to even think of calling them when my payment is due, I get so stressed out to even think of it. Very disappointed in this company and I hope they go under this full of ** and someone needs to look into their practice of business and find out why you are charged so much to pay and you cannot pay it directly into their account.

I have the mortgage with Nationstar from before it was sold to them by Bank of America. I get calls from them about refinancing. Scott was always on anything that I need, unlike the rest of them. There were a lot of paperworks that were held by a lady called Tamara. She was always at the beginning since I have everything up. And she hold some of my stuff until I thought I really started to be called the next (maybe four or five emails and about 10 calls to give this paper back). I did not receive any calls or messages from her saying if she’s on a vacation or something. At the end, I think I did receive it. But I was wondering why something like that has happened.

Also, my old insurance keep telling me that Nationstar did not pay for the last year. Looks like the whole process was not done and completed. And that shouldn’t be my issue. After everything was done, it was okay. But the whole thing really went in because of the insistence of salesman Scott. He did the best of the job.

In November 2014, I called Nation Star to make them aware that the bank had made an error on my account sending out two mortgage payments to them instead of one. I requested that they please refund the money to me so I could have money to buy Christmas for my children. I was told that Nation Star had received two payments on my account. This request would be sent to a review board and the money should be refunded within 7-10 days. After not receiving the refund, I called Nation Star again to inquire about what had happened. The person I spoke to on the phone said that she saw where it had been notated that I called and made the request and it went before board and they approved it...but no check was sent to me. Nothing happened. She offered to send me the check and I would receive it in about 5 days. At this point, it would not have helped with Christmas, so I requested that the money be posted to my account for the next month's payment. I said it two or three times to confirm she understood to credit my account.

January 12, I received a check from Nation Star refunding the mortgage payment. The check was dated Dec. 23, the day I had called about no refund. I called Nation Star again to ask why I was receiving a check, when I had asked that it be posted to my account. They looked and saw where it had been notated that I had called and requested a credit. No credit was made in a timely manner, making my payment late. She said she didn't know what had happened. I had to deposit the check into my checking account, wait for it to credit, then pay my mortgage. I had to borrow money from a relative to buy presents for my children because someone at your company dropped the ball. I was late with my mortgage payment, because someone at your company did not do as they said they would. I've never seen such incompetence. It was a simple request.

They went into my credit report twice. Ridiculous. Then right on November 11 I had paid $800 to my previous mortgage then the next day we winded up refinancing. So that $800 is still floating in Nationstar somewhere. They're telling me I have to send them the check from the bank that they cashed it, which they did. We started with Nationstar as our mortgage company and one time, we happened to see an email from them on doing refinancing with no fees. We've been thinking about it then to lower our rates, so we called and talked to their people. They were wonderful - very professional and nice. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Now we have a little more money every month.

We had a good experience with Nationstar Mortgage. We basically got everything that we wanted out of the refinance. They came to us and we didn't have to drive to a lawyer's office or a bank. They made everything easy for us.

I needed to alleviate the debt-to-income ratio that I had so I decided to inquire about refinancing options. I already had Nationstar as my lender. I chose them because they have better payment options and were able to give better terms. Their mortgage professionals were awesome. They did whatever they needed to do to get my questions answered. I can breathe since I refinanced my loan. It felt like I'm not underwater so it's been awesome since then. I'm just really grateful. They've reached out to me to help out and give some options. I'm really glad that Nationstar gave me a call that made me sign up.

I first heard about Nationstar from my previous mortgage lender. I refinanced with the same mortgage company. I didn't speak with the mortgage professional very much. I just wanted to refinance and they pretty much told me the rate and I said okay but they're very helpful. Basically they sent me the packet to start applying, the forms I need to sign. It was actually a lot easier than other mortgage companies that I started to do previously. But this agency is a pretty nice deal. Nationstar was very easy. They sent the packet, I signed the papers and sent them off the same day, so it was very fast, easy, and I was happy. Overall experience with Nationstar was excellent.

Was a bit hesitant about not having person to person contact going through refinance of our home. Had a few problems and had questions that were not answered within 24 hour period which made things take place longer. When things got started interest rates had dropped and was suppose to be recalculated but never happened. Left messages but never had returned calls and when we did contact someone, they said they never had a message. Signing was scheduled at our home, there was no one available when questions arose.

The notary who came to our house was very very good one of the questions we had and was waiting for a call back we figured out ourselves. One very important thing that came up was over half or the documents had my name misspelled on it. Our signing took over two hours waiting for call back which never happened until the following day. When the loan coordinator called to see how signing went. When explaining all the things that had happened, she said she did not not get any message. Even before signing was going to happen said if any question came up to call.

Our signing went on at 6 pm Mountain time. When first problems arose left messages. She said she had gone home for the day and I had asked why did signing take place then if there was questions to be answered, even tried getting a hold of her manager when document problem about misspelled name was spotted. NO ONE there to help, the loan went through but not without a lot of problems.

Nationstar Mortgage purchased my loan from Citibank. They were excellent. I received very good guidance in my refinance options. The guy who worked with me gave me great information. I wasn't even looking and he had all the right information so it was very, very helpful, because you can get really anxious trying to get the loan. He really made sure that I knew what was going on. I have lower house payments as a result.

I had a mortgage already through Nationstar when Greenlight contacted me. They had all the information so there were some paperwork but not a lot. It was pretty easy to get a hold of the mortgage professionals and the explanations that they gave me. It was simple and easy to follow. Everything was pretty easy. There was nothing that I had to worry about. All the information, I got it upfront. The guidance you received when discussing refinancing options was pretty good. What they told me at the beginning, that's what I got at the end. So there was nothing hidden. They got all the answers, everything, how much it was going to cost me, closing, payment, insurance, all that.

Nationstar have been all absolutely fabulous, just the nicest people, and really efficient. One of the benefits of refinancing with them is the smaller loan payment. And when I tell people how quickly the paperwork got through, they're stunned. The guidance went really well. I felt like I knew what my choices were and what the implications would be. So I felt really confident in my decision. It was a wonderful experience.

I first heard about Nationstar Mortgage when Bank of America got sold to Nationstar Mortgage, and then I started to do a refinancing through them as well. This is the first time I refinanced, just outside of making the initial mortgage. My first impression is that the mortgage professionals were making emails and phone calls timely, which I was impressed and I appreciated.

I told them exactly what my goal was, refinancing, and they made a proposal on top of the loan, and then I went with that, I agreed with their proposal. I was able to lower my interest rate and, in addition to that, my monthly payments. The mortgage professionals I worked with did in the convenience of my own home. They came to me. I liked that. And then throughout the process, the person who came to us to do the paperwork, through the different conversations, she made it look painless.

Nationstar acquired my mortgage from Bank of America about a year and a half ago. I've been receiving notifications in the mail about different options for my existing mortgage. I inquired about refinancing because my rate was at 6% and want to reduce it and shorten my term. My loan is qualified in their program so they made it a very easy solution to refinance.

The very first gentleman I worked with was fantastic and he was very clear about the terms, expectations, timelines, getting everything in order and processed everything quickly. The next stage for the actual loan closing, I felt like I had to reach out more versus having information provided to me. I had to push a little bit more on the second person but we ultimately got there, so it was fine. My overall term was reduced, taking off 8 years on my mortgage term, reducing my interest rate, and getting a greater value for my mortgage. The payment now didn't really change much, but more of it is going to my principal versus paying more interest.

When I had my mortgage set up, it was with a company that in turn sold the mortgage to Nationstar. And so that was my first exposure to Nationstar. After I had been with Nationstar for a while and rates had been going down, a division of Nationstar that deals with the refi sent me a letter and asked if I’d be interested in

considering it, so I responded to that. We talked on the phone and then I went ahead and did the refi.

When I first started to talk to the representative, he seemed to be very knowledgeable and he’s enthusiastic and seemed to be able to help me put this thing together so we started. And then after I had completed the part that I had to do as far as filling out all the forms and providing the information, I didn’t hear anything for a little while. And then I got the correspondence from the lady who handles the closing of the refi. And so she picked it up and took it from there. She was outstanding. She just did a marvelous job and was very good at the follow through.

After she had started me on the course to getting the thing closed, something came up that I was unclear on that didn’t seem right. So I tried to get a hold of the fellow that I had talked to initially, who got me started on the refi and he just kind of dropped me and so I couldn’t get anywhere there. So I went back to the young lady who was handling the closing and she got it all straightened out for me and then everything went just fine.
