I recently went into Walmart in Dartmouth Massachusetts. Was ready to do my taxes with Jackson Hewitt and noticed a woman playing with dolls and drawing, copying her drawings and taping them all over her cubicle. Dressed in sweatpants and a dirty sweater. I will go to H&R Block to have my taxes done. If this is the face of your company I do not trust you to do my taxes.

I was told it would cost me $100.00 after discount to file my very simple non itemized taxes. It took over 1.5 hours and the agent made at least 10 phone calls because she could not figure out how to file my taxes. 3 of those phone calls were for simply printing the paperwork. She blamed this on her poor training from Jackson Hewitt. Then charged me $301.95 dollars after misleading me the entire time of the cost. This payment was intercepted/stolen from my state refund.

My tax preparer is Barbara **. She has a great personality. She makes sure you understand all your options and gives you the time you need for any questions about your taxes. She’s great. Definitely recommend her And be a returning customer.

This is the third time I have filed and every time has been a rip off! I absolutely can't stand how slow and unprofessional these guys are! I requested a refund for being persuade to have to accept the premium package. $515 just to file! Do it yourself. Not to mention there is absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I highly recommend Jackson Hewitt! The Childersburg location provides a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Mrs. **, my tax preparer, was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. Her expertise and friendly demeanor made the experience seamless and stress-free. I will definitely be returning to work with her again!

My tax lady MONIGUE ** was excellent. She was very professional and explained everything well. She was easy to talk to and made the whole tax thing less stressful as possible. I highly recommended her. 10 stars

I went to the Jackson Hewitt office inside Walmart located in Centre of New England BLD, Coventry Rhode Island, the lady Shyanne was ok, the only issue I had that I forgot a form she needed I told I will be back, as soon I got back she was gone I was quite annoyed, Also I made an appointment for the next day unfortunately the CPA I was supposed to get my taxes done was supposedly sick I didn't bother to reschedule, Also now I'm reading that they are false advertisement for $49.00 and get back $100, very incompetent

I made an appointment, showed up on time. The one employee was still with the previous customer, she asked if she could help me. I told her I had an appointment for the current time. She said she was finishing up and would be with me soon. After waiting 30 minutes of her yelling and running around like a chicken with her head cut off and screaming "where are my pens, my pens don't work, someone took my pens!" I developed a severe migraine from her yelling that she was basically incompetent at her job and my appointment was half over and she hadn't even helped me, so I left. Without my taxes being done, had a severe migraine, and I made the appointment a week before and rearranged my day to be there. I am severely disappointed in Jackson Hewitt and their underwhelming professionalism. I would not want a woman like that doing my taxes.

We have used Jackson Hewitt for the last 13 years and have always been satisfied. My complaint this year is the price. We are retired, filed a short, easy form and were charged $225.00 (with a discount). I asked about the $49.95 they have advertised everywhere and was told we weren't new customers and didn't qualify. I should think after 13 years of doing business with you, you could do better than this. Very disappointed.

Mrs ** is Awesome. She cares about her clients and does a great job. I enjoy coming to the Bushnell location. The consumer service is great and she is very fast. I will be back next year for sure. Thank You.

Always Fast friendly service and Ann always responded to me within 24 hours or less, I was able to qualify for an anticipation loan which came in handy, hands down the best experience filing taxes I’ve ever had, they also offer remote service which I needed this year.

First of all, I am a loyal customer for more than ten years and senior citizen. I made an appointment today at 2 pm, and had to wait until 4 pm for the tax preparation. Thus, the waiting time is poor customer service. Afterwards, the management refused to give me a discount, even though this year there were less forms used and I had a 30 % coupon, which they emailed to me. He/she claimed last year, I was given a larger discount since I owed taxes. This is a ridiculous lame excuse not to give a discount. I highly recommend NOT to use Jackson Hewitt for your tax preparation. They are just rip offs, especially to senior citizens and loyal customers.

I have enjoyed the service that I have received at Jackson Hewitt inside the Walmart on W. Airport @ 59 in Stafford Texas. The tax preparer Ms. ** was a very professional person and very knowledgeable at what she does. She was willing to answer any questions that I may have had and helped me with every tax needs. I will gladly recommend her and Jackson Hewitt to anyone who has the need for the service.

We had an appointment to have our taxes filed. We arrived early. Not long after our arrival, another lady arrived after us. She was served before us. When I set up the online appointment, they were for 1 hour intervals starting at 1:30. Our appointment was at 2:30. There was no option for 2:00. We were racially profiled. We were there before her, and she did not have an appointment. This will be our last time using Jackson Hewitt.

I walked into the office with my head down worried about my taxes and Ms. ** offered me a cup of coffee and told me to have a seat and let her see all my info and went to work. My day changed for the good.

I went to them for the first time for 2024 taxes, the girl was extremely friendly and did well to explain things, but I had called before I went in and asked how much it cost to get my taxes done, told them how I was filing and was told it was $49. I got in there went through the process and was charged $167. I had been paying only $50 at another place, but was trying to find someone closer to home, big mistake.

There was signage everywhere about their promises and guarantees and they were nice as he sped through the auto e sign. They charged 238 DOLLARS and promised many times it would be fine. No mention of a possible third party denial. They will NOT help or budge and really don't care how calm you are about not eating for 2 days and taking a credit hit because I can't pay my card back. They sent me over to talk to another store where the lady said I shouldn't have signed. The world slaps you down enough. I was already down and the kick to the face was unbelievably harsh.

I got my taxes done by them. And it was my fault for not reading the fine line. That being said I was charged over $900.00 in fees to file with them. I was told that was the case I would have gone somewhere else. I recommend do your research before filing with them

Tax professionals are great do a good job but Jackson Hewitt is doesn't. Their care team don't care about you. Yesterday I went, got my taxes done and always got a advance. This year they are advertising advance but they are not letting you know that it a loan and there underwriting involved so when you go in for advance be prepared to not get it. Jackson Hewitt should be more upfront about their advances and advertising that it based on underwriting criteria not just your refund next year so think about a different place to go.

Had my taxes done at Jackson Hewitt today. They took me to the cleaners! 1st they promised an advance of 1/2 my refund. 2nd it was supposed to $49 for Fed and $69 for state. They charged me $379 and gave me a debit card for the advance and refund. 12 minutes after I left I get a text saying I didn't qualify for an advance. I called and asked to cancel the return or at least refund most of the outrageous fees. They said NO! I'm on Social Security and they robbed me! She wouldn't even show me the fees until after I signed. STAY AWAY from Jackson Hewitt! You won't get an advance and they will take away a big chunk of your hard-earned money.

I’ve been filing with Turbo Tax for 5 years 0$. I tried going to Jackson Hewitt for my 2024 tax returned just for the no-fees advance money they offered. After completing everything my due fees were up 780$ for filing with them and I only have 1 job with 1 w2. Turbo Tax is 0$ for filing. The amount from both came out to the same amount there is no bigger amount is all the same.

I just wanted to say that this is the first time I have ever had my taxes done at a JW office. To start the person who helped me was **. Shine went to the limit to help me get the most from my experience. I was not sure of the forms I needed to get started. She was very knowledgeable on that. Next, we began filling out the tax forms. I didn't know if I could itemize or not, she helped me on that. She was also knowledgeable about the tax forms that I has no idea how to answer. Finally, with diligence she was able to complete my taxes and I was surprised she got a refund that I wasn't expected. She was polite and very patient with my questions and answer them all. I will be glad for Mrs. ** to do my taxes each year. Thank for this option to give a review of your employee.

I have been trying to fix my 2021 tax returns for 2 1/2 years now. They completed my taxes, incorrect both state and federal and it has been a living nightmare. They are so inadequate and you are just a drop of water in a pond that never goes dry. I have had many many promises and still no results. This is the worst place you could ever file taxes unless you just enjoy nightmares a total inadequate service.

They don't tell you that the guaranteed refund advance has special conditions or may not even happen till the end and it's too late. I was under the impression I would receive a portion of my refund that day, at the end when it was already filed they say "if approved it can take 48 hrs". Well before I was home on my 40 mi tax venture I get a text denied and they say I will get a letter in 30 days saying why.

Have been filing with them for years. The only complaint I have is the price to file the taxes. Yes I have two dependents but I only ever have one W-2 and have never had issues with my taxes so I don't know why it cost so much to file. And yes I could do it myself but I enjoy going to Jackson Hewitt because of the early Christmas loans. One I need money in a bind and getting money early was no fee. Also, the employees are always very friendly and the office is always very clean at the Lawrenceburg office. I would recommend seeing Caitlin. She's awesome!

I’ve been going to Jackson Hewitt for three years to get my taxes done and always a smile when I walk out on my face. The service is wonderful and they are very helpful. My husband (Army war veteran) and I (Federal Retired Employee) used Jackson Hewitt Tax Service for our 2023 income taxes. When we went in I told the woman "that ours was not a standard tax form. It would be complicated.) We were assigned a "tax expert" ha, ha, ha. Again I told them that this was going to be a difficult tax form, that we were not the average tax forms. And we were told 'Oh this girl is an expert'.

They are the worst. Someone stole my sister money from there. We went to the IRS and they said it’s nothing they can do since they sent the money out. Called Jackson Hewitt and told them. Now the prosecutor in The Bronx supposed to be investigating and we still have heard nothing back. Mind you my sister has a one year old and she was pregnant at the time. Nobody should go to 3532 White Plains Rd. Jackson Hewitt. They have nothing but scammers working there.

The actual process of completing my tax return straightforward, it was the problem generated when the IRS sent a letter questioning my return and I was missing a schedule that has been a problem. 1st, try calling them and NO ONE answers the phone. They must just let the phone ring off the hook, I've tried calling 50 times. Then, I got their main office involved and communicated with their Ocala office who told me they'd file a response and a week later nothing, so I'm back to calling and calling again with no response. I'll file my OWN taxes next year!!!

I went to JH for my 2022 taxes and had a fantastic experience. Went back for 2023, had a different representative. I owed the IRS and the rep told me I could give her the $ and JH would pay it. I then found out the bill for the service was double what I paid last year. Yes, I could have said never mind, but I believe to get good customer service you should be a good customer. Found out the clerk entered my state and federal contact info incorrectly. When I called JH they told me I had to fix it myself. This info included my son. It was a mess. They half fixed the problem, I fixed the rest. I asked for a refund at this time, and was blamed for there being an issue, as if I had entered the info! Fast forward to earlier this month, I received a notice from the IRS that I owed them taxes. I immediately called JH, and it took days for them to call me back.

I was charged $400 to get my taxes done. Short form. Very simple. My father went next door to have his taxes done. $150. Same simple form. Where does Jackson Hewitt get off on charging $400 for a simple tax return? What a Joke. I will never take my taxes there again and will advise anyone who does not to.

This the third year I had suffered with a horrible experience with Jackson Hewitt. The waiting, the calling, the run around, the inaccuracy is insane. Had my 2023 taxes done (once again trusting that this time will be better) starting at New Hope office with Cierra on February 2nd, after that, ZERO response. After multiple calls & them telling me to get my returns and bring them to another office, told them NO ONE is there OR responding. I ended up having them completed at the Broadway office. TODAY is June 20, 2024 I received a “CORRECTION” letter from Mn Department of Revenue. After paying close to $500 (again) I was informed I am getting hundreds of dollars less! (State refund was $1080, according to Melisha D. updated refund? $281!!!) I feel I should be Refunded my money back for all the hardship I am going through with Jackson Hewitt! I feel I shouldn’t have to pay for the mistake I DID’NT MAKE. I will leave a Google Review.

Terrible! I went to them to do a re-file of my 2021 federal return. They botched it so I owed the IRS an additional $4,000 in interest and late fees. The local office I worked with promised me compensation but they’re now doxxing me. Tried to get help on the JH chat but they are refusing to assist because they say I did not file my original return with them. It makes no sense!

I filed my taxes in Jan. They double charged me, which I entitled to a reimbursement. It is June, and I've not received anything!! I never was helped, just got the runaround. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM. THEY HAVE JUST LOST A CUSTOMER!!

This company is a complete fraud. They promised to reduce my tax burdens to pennies on the dollar. In fact I get hit with the more penalties and interest and had to pay more. I negotiated on my own with the feds and with the state and got a much better deal. Don't use them.

We went to Jackson Hewitt for 2021 taxes. We had the taxes amended because the preparer missed a form. She only amended the federal this year. We were sent notification we owed 2203.00 to state she neglected to amend. Jackson Hewitt refused to help us. They could have negotiated with the IRS on our behalf and or gave the fees owed due to their error. They won’t return phone calls and when we saw a gentleman by the name Sam he said nothing he could do, just pay it!!!

I would give negative star review if could as 1 star is as low as I can go. They charged me $300 and only did 1/2 job. When realized they'd lied to me about sending off, went back to Springfield TN office and employee there told me that her manager had put in mail herself to make sure got sent off.. yet ANOTHER LIE! PLEASE PLEASE learn from my stupidity!!! RUNNN!!! Have NOTHING to do with these horrible lying thieves!!!! Do NOT believe or trust them..

I did my taxes myself for free and wound up owing Federal so I thought I'd go to professional and have them to do it and hopes of a better result. Not only did I get the exact same result as doing it myself but she tried to charge me $350 that's almost as much as I owed in Federal. And what was the worst of all is that she did not give me my driver's license back! She did call a couple of times but I was at work and unable to answer the phone.

Preparer was thorough and very helpful. Spent extra time helping us sort out expenses. 5 stars for prep. However, got letter from IRS stating that there was an error on the return. No response from preparer, emailed, called, left voicemails. We need this corrected! Our state refund was reduced by over $500 because a crucial document was not submitted. Husband and I both in wheelchairs with significant medical bills. In our circumstance, the state gives you credit, if you meet their criteria to make modifications to help you retrofit your home. There is a certificate that has to be included, it was not. No response!

I applied to Jackson Hewitt tax resolution after having an IRS problem. I went through 6 different case managers in 2 years. I wound up with an amount that doubled my original amount. I can't move forward financially.

I used Jackson Hewitt to prepare my taxes for about 4 years straight while I was traveling for work. The year I had an issue I had worked in three different states. Jackson Hewitt only filed two of the three states and as a result, one of the states did a commissioner return and decided that I owed $2,000. The commissioner return was filed in 2019 which falls under the umbrella of the no worry guarantee The Jackson Hewitt offers and that I paid for. Because they didn't file that year I didn't receive notice of this return and the fact that I owed $2,000 because that state didn't have my current address.

This office did not enter all the tax liabilities that should have been assessed. They did not provide me a copy of my return in detail. They did not help me in obtaining tax docs over their website. After making an appointment to picks up docs they made me wait for over an hour and one half on two different occasions. They also provided with a copy of a check by another client. Their Dist Manager did not return phone calls. They did not provide details on how fees were assessed before or after paying them over $1000 for three years of tax returns. The corporate office was called and they provided no solution to their problem.

On February 5, 2024, I went in person to the Jackson Hewitt located at 645 W 23rd Street in Panama City, FL to file my personal taxes for 2021, 2022 and 2023. I spent nearly 8 hours with Representative ** whom appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs while in my presence. Ms. ** was very slow and slurred her words, taking much longer than usual to process my tax returns. Approximately one month after, Ms. ** called me personally to inform me that there was a discrepancy on my 2021 return related to a 1099 form. Apparently, the employer's name listed did not match the IRS records. I provided her with the correct information, she then proceeded to tell me that she would fix such issue and call me back. She did not call back.

Definitely overpriced, it’s not advertised that a prep fee would be $450 partly because it’s the final day. So confusing, something just isn’t right. Very pleasant preparer, don’t get me wrong but that one-hour scan and enter numbers appointment doesn’t add up to the amount charged. I’m just not sure who I should call.

I had my simple taxes prepared and filed at Walmart with Jackson Hewitt was there maybe 25 minutes and they charged me $599 and I owe the IRS but get a return from the state. I have used Jackson Hewitt in the past but will never use them again. Was told that cause I had a 1099 and a W2 it cost more to have taxes done.

They scammed me a few years ago. The preparer lied to me saying if I used them, I'd receive $50 that day. Of course the $50 was never received. The surprising part was when I called the 1-800 number, they just kept bouncing me around even transferring me back to the preparer that lied to me in the first place. It was even advertised on the walls and on their website. I ended up paying over $850 on my taxes that year to Jackson Hewitt alone as their fee. I used to believe in having an expert do it instead of contributing to a way cheaper app cutting jobs of preparers. Today I filed free on H&R Block online.

We waited until last minute; HUGE mistake. Charged us $500...was 300 last year, 225 year before. NEVER AGAIN! Let's stop throwing our $ away to thieves, for one hour work, people! I talked to a tax pro friend, too late, she said she would do it $200. SHEESH. I hate getting robbed by these crooked corps.

Excellent and extremely convenient service located right inside of Walmart. Staff is knowledgeable, professional and truly care about the client. Truly appreciate how serious they take clients' privacy regarding their data. Unlike many other companies, they have great protection and do not sell taxpayers' information like TurboTax does. I see many people complain about fees, but they are actually very fairly priced in comparison to other tax professionals/companies.

Not surprised to see I'm not the only one who got completely burned by this shady establishment. Read the bad reviews, they are legitimate. Some people don't complain but TRUST ME. You will be paying HUNDREDS of dollars more than is reasonable here. I don't often (ever) leave reviews but my experience was so bad here It has become one of my side objectives to prevent people from falling for these "legal con artists." Imagine trying to do business with a bandit in his own capital city where he makes all the rules, you'll get charged 5$ for a banana and it's the same here at Jackson Hewitt. 1-800 steal-your-refund would be an appropriate phone number for these guys.

I had a great experience with Yvonne at the Inverness office having my 2023 income taxes done. She was very friendly and took her time to explain everything. I felt she was very knowledgeable. Job well done!

I used Jackson Hewitt in Chalfont, PA for my 2021 taxes. I was charged $500 for federal, state and local tax returns. I was told that my 1099 was not subject to state tax. Unfortunately the person who did my taxes relocated the office a few towns away. I should have driven the extra miles. There was a closer office in Lansdale, PA and I used them for my 2022 tax returns. They charged $780 for the same services and insisted that I pay state tax on the 1099. I shouldn't have. This year I used TurboTax and was charged $89.00 for the federal tax return and did the state and local on line myself. I did it all in 1 1/2 hours. Don't make my mistake and ask for the fee schedules in advance. I'm not a big fan of TurboTax but it's better than being overcharged.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM! They charge me over 900 to file a simple tax return! The crazy part is they never told me how much it was going to be. Also, they messed up my taxes because the lady spelled my name wrong when she had my driver license right in front of her! Because of that it took over a month to get my return back and I had to go back and get it changed! I will never use them EVER again!

Ben was a great help! I decided to do my taxes last min and stopped by Walmart on Talbert avenue in Huntington Beach. Ben got right to it and helped get everything started. It was a quick and easy process! I was also pleased with the results! Truly recommend Ben!!

I had my taxes done in Bellingham, MA. My first impression was that the office was filthy. The rug looked like it had never been cleaned, there were marks all over the walls. The woman I worked with did not seem like she knew what she was doing. Twice she had to call a coworker over to ask questions. The coworker had dirty fingernails. When she was done she said I would be getting a refund from the state for $3,000.00. I was so happy because I am a senior citizen with a limited income. When I got home I opened the package she gave me and I was shocked to see a voucher saying I needed to pay the state $3,000.00. When I called her to question this, she had me holding for 10 minutes then said she would call me back. She never called back and my calls have not been answered. Never do business with this company. I am not even sure if she actually filed my taxes.

This was my first experience with Jackson Hewitt and never again. The tax pro that did my taxes was so unprofessional and he didn’t go over anything with me when I came back to pick up my tax documents but was quick enough to charge me $399. I did a drop off. I never paid this ridiculous amount at H&R Block. When I came back when my tax returns was ready, the Tax Pro was more preoccupied with his texting conversation than paying attention to me, the customer in front of him. I felt hurried and nothing was gone over with me . And the papers he gave me wasn’t neatly done. He just stuffed everything in the folder and papers were sticking out. Very Messy like a toddler. The worst and I mean the worst Tax service I have experienced. I am going back to H&R Block next Tax season because at least they sat down with me & went over things and I was never charged more than $200.

My old man who did my taxes, didn't disclose to me that I would be charged a fee to have the money deducted from my refund. His hands shock and he rambled on about nonsense. I thought that he was going to start spitting up and fall out of his chair. I know old people have bills too but to work in your late eighties is stretching it. It was my first and last time with them. I had a bad feeling when I sat down, I wished that I had listened to my gut. The devil in an old man's body. I am just glad that I won't see either one of them in heaven because they are going straight to HELL and that won't be long because they are as old as dirt now.

Terrible work, I am a 62 yr old man with a 63 yr old wife and we are both Retired. Went in to do my 2024 taxes with our SSID 1099 forms. The agent never mentioned that we also needed our 1099r forms too. So we went ahead and file our taxes with just our said forms. And never did our 1099r. Forms. Now we went back to see if we can file our 1099r. that the agent never mentioned for us to bring. They wanted to charge another 150 dollars for the 1099r forms that he forgot to mentioned. I told them I was new to my retirement and that they should have mentioned those extra forms that I needed 1099r. I will never used this company again. I will used a company that is more experienced and knowledgeable on all forms of taxes needed to get the most out of my refund. Beware of people working in suit for this company. Very unprofessional. Sad.

We had our taxes done in McMinnville Tn by representative Kim ** and she was wonderful. She went above and beyond when my son’s tax return was rejected. She contacted the correct people to get the issue corrected and his taxes resubmitted. She was very nice and professional. I would recommend Jackson Hewitt and representative Kim ** to everyone that is needing a professional tax service and an efficient one that is willing to make sure the customer leaves their appointment feeling confident that if an issue arises it will be taken care and quickly.

I was flat out lied to. I paid several hundred dollars to have my husband's taxes done and filed. Well it was for several years' worth and I assumed it was done. I call the IRS on something and find out that none were filed and I need to get copies again and resubmit. I call the one that I paid it at and since I was not married to him during those years I paid for I can not pick up the returns, only him. I ask did he have to go to the Dunn office where I paid and was told, "No, he can go to any." I ask, "Will this have a fee involved?", and I am told, "No. It will be free." I called the Jackson Hewitt number by getting it from the computer, not the Dunn office.

We use the Walmart Jackson Hewitt. Absolutely great experience! Delora always takes care of us every year! Would definitely recommend using her. She definitely knows what she is doing! We will be back next year.

Worthless. Fill out your entire tax form and then they will refuse payment with a credit card so you are forced to pay double to have it taken out of your return. Tried multiple cards; called my banks, they never even tried to post the transaction. Simply refuses anything you put in to force you to either fill it all out again with another provider or pay double once you in there. Total bait-and-switch.

I paid $500+ to have my simple income tax done by this company. I was not given a paper copy of my return. No one ever told me that I needed an online acct. I went to the office to ask how to acquire a paper copy. They told me to create an online acct. I had to use someone e else’s email to get an acct because it kept messaging my email acct is initially acceptable. After using someone e else’s email, then they sent me several several verification code. None worked. Eventually, the site told me I needed to revisit in 2 hours. The entire time an employee just stood there. Eventually, some other employee asked how he could help. Well, by then, it was too late, so I decided right then and there I no longer am returning to this company for my info e taxes next year. Certainly, I can pay $500+ to a certified CPA for my no deductions, file single, simple, simple, simple, simple, taxes that most likely can be calculated in less than an hour.

I went into the Ben white location after a failed attempt at H&R. I had multiple w2s for multiple years. Erica ** was working alone for the day and it was past lunch. She helped a lady before me was was just praising all the help Erica had been. She was awesome! Not only was she able to help me..pretty quickly. She also helped a walk up client with a language barrier! All with grace and a smile!!! Best customer service ever! Thanks Erica!

This company steal and cheat, they will advertise 50% off preparation and then only give 30% and try to fool you into thinking that they’re giving you the right amount. They are very expensive for no reason. The boss lady on the fool is a freaking thief. The tax preparer is very nice and helpful.

Showed up at 8:30am for a 9:00 am appointment. I left at 9:15 am because no one showed up? I'm at the Walmart in Glasgow Kentucky and there is no number for me to call. You would think they would be a number for somebody to call or a weigh to let people know that they're not gonna be there.

Screwed our taxes up, admitted it was their fault. We purchased their guaranteed package. They cost us thousands and have not honored their guarantee. Will never use again. We have got nothing but a runaround in trying to get answers. A total waste.

I filed a simple return, electronically, Feb 8th. As of 3/29/24, no refund. No IRS letters, no nothing. I call my local place who look into it. Apparently the IRS and Republic Bank and claiming different things about my account. Meanwhile, I've been evicted, not having that money. Lost my car ins. Thanks JH! Worst 800 I've ever spent.

Robin in the Bessemer City location is the best tax prep I've ever met. She always has your best interest at heart and is there for you. I highly recommend you go see her. She is always taking care of my family. If I ever need documents she has them waiting on me when I come in the office. She will get you your top refund amount. She is there for the people. Out of any office I highly recommend you go to hers.

This was our first yr with Jackson Hewitt. The lady that did our taxes, Lori was so friendly and courteous! We had a few minor snags but she worked thru them quickly and with a confidence that put us at ease. We will definitely be back next year!

They scheduled an appointment on a day and time that there was no tax preparation at that location. I traced nearly an hour in inclement weather to keep my appointment because I made a commitment, I waited 15 minutes and called and was told that location wasn’t open today. This is extremely poor customer service and unacceptable! I am beyond furious!! I received multiple confirmations regarding this appointment that didn’t even exist????

Updated on 04/06/2024: Nothing but problems getting my refund and then they made me put it on a Serve card where it costs $7 each ATM visit and isn’t accepted at most stores. I finally get my refund and can’t even spend it as I’d like. Jackson Hewitt has been no bueno.

I must pass at least five Jackson Hewitt locations to do business with one man! Michael ** has my business. He’s an overall great down to earth person who always makes you feel welcomed while being very knowledgeable and professional!

We did our taxes with the local Jackson Hewitt in Arnold MO last year and because we were first time customers - we received discounts for their fees to do our taxes. My husband and I paid $164 for them to do our return. We also had them just do our son's return while we were already there. He has a simple return - but has a 1099. We paid $25 for them to do his return. We were definitely shocked at the amount we had to pay the IRS for both us and him. He made $15,000 (pretty much below poverty). He had to pay the IRS $2300. We went back to them this year and they completed our returns for $262 and they charged my son $432 to complete his. He had 1099 and one W2. Again he only made $16,000 and has to pay $1100 to the IRS. I do not know how they can justify making him pay $432. That is the most we have ever paid for any returns. All they could say was - well it is already done!! I will definitely not use them next year!!! Note: the refund on the receipt is for state not federal.

I had to go back to the 67th Ave and Bethany Home office 6 times for them to get my taxes right when they finally did file them. I waited 30 days after I kept checking where's my refund. I get a letter from the IRS saying I need to come into their office to prove my identity. On 03/18/2024 while there they asked me for a copy of my taxes from Jackson Hewitt. I pulled it up on the Jackson Hewitt site. Whoever did my taxes uploaded the wrong tax return. They used one which had to be adjusted and never put the right return on my file. This is so frustrating. I have to wait until they open to get the right return then drive back to the IRS office for them to review. I've had nothing but, "Sorry about that. We will correct it" but they still want to charge me the full amount for doing my taxes which I should have received by now and now I have to wait until the IRS review it again.

In 2022, I went to the Jackson Hewitt office I use every year. I noticed days later that the wrong mail address was submitted on the return. I called Brian ** and told him about it, and he wanted to charge me to fix it. I certainly was not going to pay for his mistake, but he said he would change it. Well he lied, as I went to a different office this year, and Peter ** also placed the wrong mail address. I noticed this when I got home and called him. He said he was with a customer and would call me back. He never did. I called again and left message of which he never returned. Jackson Hewitt so called tax professionals just do not care, as they only care about their overcharged fee.

Felicia ** helped with everything I needed. Speedy processing and great overall customer service. Will be coming back next year. Thanks again. Everything that we discussed actually gave me more insight on what to look for next year.

The person was preparing my taxes did not know what he was doing. He had to re-do my taxes more than once. He told me once I owed $1300 to back down to nothing back up to $1300. He had to delete his forms several times. He had to make several calls to his supervisor. He did not know what he was doing. This was the by far the worst experience I've had so far with my taxes. And still had to pay for it. They need to do better

Made appointment online for in-person JH tax prep at local Walmart. Received confirmation email (with confirmation number) for IN-PERSON appointment at 6 pm. Went today and waited at Walmart JH kiosk. And waited. And waited… No one showed up. No email. No text. No phone call. So I called JH customer service. They connected me to “Office Manager” for site in question. He didn’t answer, but an underling did. He then told me this Walmart was a drop off location ONLY, NO in-person appointments. Someone “should have communicated that” to me, “sorry about that”. And that was it! No offer to rectify the mixup, or to make it right, or to make up for the hour I waited in-store.

**** Jackson Hewitt! They Lie & Put Up illusions, To Stay In Business. They Stated Over The "Phone" Their Fee Was $359, To Lure Me In. I Had An Agent Charge $650. They Lied About My Taxes Coming "5 Days Earlier" Than February 2th, Due To Me Filing February 2nd & Agreeing With Their $650 Fee. It Is February 28th & I See They Could Not "Keep Their Word" About A $359 Fee Or Me Receiving My Tax Return 5 Days Early....Those Agents Over Their Phone System & At Their Office Locations Are Complete Snakes, Liars, & Manipulators.

Their services are way too expensive and they have no info on why I'm still waiting for my return when none of my tax info changed, this the first time I've used them and won't be using them again bc for the high price it's not worth it, still waiting as an early filer way after 21 days and no info on why. I will be using Turbo Tax again next year for faster returns and better service for less.

2023 tax year was the first time I have taken my taxes to be done for me, was told Jackson Hewitt was a good place to have my taxes done so when I got there early I knew I would wait which was OK. The lady was very nice. When she started my taxes I asked about how much would it be just a ball park. Was told all refunds are different so I don't know how much it will be. Now it was a simple return 2 w-2, banks interest, retirement credit, and market place insurance. When she let me know what my refund would be it was OK. I don't normally get a large refund. Then she said, "Your total to pay to have your taxes done is 471.00".

My Wife, & I, have been getting our taxes done with Jackson Hewitt for the last 20 years. We have always gone to the same location, 1512 Lowes Blvd Ste 105, Killeen, TX 76542. The preparers there have done an outstanding job. We had our taxes done there today. 24FEB24, our preparer was **. She was very resourceful and professional. Some of our information from past years was input wrong. She meticulously took her time and went over our paperwork, and corrected it. We greatly appreciate it. JOB WELL DONE!!!! :)

Back in early 2000s Jackson Hewitt stole 2700.00 from me. Said I owed it to IRS. I called IRS. I was told I didn't owe them anything that Jackson Hewitt was doing that to lots of people and that it would cost me more than that amount to pay attorney. The tax office was in Elkhart Ind. In front of everyone called me a low life and threatened to call police on me.

We went to Jackson Hewitt for the first time we always go to H and R Block. We were quoted $79.99 for the taxes to be done. Then they decide. It's over 500 when they've seen how much I got back on my return. OK fine whatever so federal isn't back yet so I only got 471 on my state so they took it all of it took every cent of it, because federal is going too slow for them even though I have 2 disabled children and I need that money. They could have taken it out of federal, but they chose not to. So now we gotta figure out what we're gonna do about our son. Whose birthday we were planning you guys ruined everything. I will never go through you guys again. You're the worst company in the world and I hope that karma comes for a visit.

I was overcharged for my package. I have spent 6 days trying to contact management and I have gotten the runaround. No answers, no callback. Complete neglect. This is my first time and my last time using their services.

1st appointment was 15 minutes late. My simple return took 2 plus hours. It didn't get done. I went back the next day and signed. 3 weeks later they hadn't filed my taxes. I went back 2 more times and the issue is not resolved through no fault of my own. I paid 160.00 dollars for what? I'm a customer of 15 years. I believe I deserve my money back for all I've been through. Really terrible job.

The ladies at the American Way location #10726 were so kind and they made me feel right at home however the printer froze and I waited for a very long time. The location and equipment are not good. They deserve to have a nicer work environment.

This is my first time using Jackson Hewitt. I'm very disappointed in my experience. I have one W-2 and two children. They tried charging almost $700 after they told me it would be $199 at the time of my holiday advance loan. The"tax pro" had me sitting around for an hour and a half waiting so he could edit my previously started return. I even had to help with the program so I could get my dependent care expenses entered. There was a sign saying if you switched you would pay less than what you paid last year, diy included, guaranteed. I asked about that and he had no idea what it meant.

So I've been going to Jackson Hewitt now for 10yrs.. I have 2 kids, now my son is 24 yrs old and my daughter is 18 yrs old in college which is a huge difference now on my refund.. Well I got over $5000 this year (for college tax) and only got $250 back on my refund advance this year!! Now the last 9 yrs I've gotten $1500 and my tax refund was less than it is now for 2023.. I don't understand and I paid $500 for them to do my taxes as I sit here struggling to pay bills until I get my whole refund back! It's sad how this company takes all that money from us and to basically say "Sorry about your luck." Well they lost me as a customer and I'll be doing my own taxes for now on!! I hope this helps some of you guys from going there, it's so easy to do your own taxes now .. I've did some researching and I'm not the smartest cookie in the jar! :)

We had scheduled an appointment at the Beaverton, OR office, but the office was locked when we arrived, and the tax preparer was late. Another person was ahead of us and the preparer took over a hour with them. Although we had a confirmed appointment, we left after waiting an hour and called Jackson Hewitt. To their credit, we were given a same day appointment at another office, and met a very helpful & friendly tax preparer. He completed our return in about 45 minutes. I can highly recommend both Jackson Hewitt and Nace **.

Marlene was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I believe that she got me the best refund possible. I was very satisfied with the way she handled everything. I'll be sure to come back next year.

Hidden fees!! Was told a certain price and was charged triple the amount! Took 2 weeks to get a call back about my return and was bounced around from person to person and was told different information by each person! Will never use this company again!

I recently had my taxes done with Jackson Hewitt. 3 retirement incomes, no itemization. Took over 2 hours. Tax preparer tried everything she could but the codes she was given didn't work. The card reader would not connect to the computer so I had to go home, get my checkbook & return to make payment. The next morning the company ringed my phone at 5am to complete a survey. Really?

So kind and helpful. Like to have her back next year. I really like her and hope she can be there every year so please have her back every year. Thank you. Praise. I mean what more can you say about Jessica? She said she's a real nice sweet lady. She's outgoing, outspoken. I love her smile. Like I said her personality and how she treated me and she helped me through a lot of stuff today so I appreciate Jessica and I would like to see her again next year and the year after that.

Tonya Cullins ** helped me to prepare my taxes and she was very polite and helpful with all my question that I had. I recommended that if you want a good tax return to go to her for your taxes. She is also quick and fast with preparation.

OMG! Don't go here! The serve card they issued me was a disaster. Nobody could be contacted on a Saturday. The preparer who did my taxes at the Walmart site could not be contacted for my questions. The main office is a disaster of numbers that nobody calls you back on. Don't put yourself through the misery of paying $400 to a company that can't even be contacted to fix their mess up.

I went to see Micheal at 350 Walmart and he was awesome. He made me feel comfortable and confident when file my taxes. My favorite part is when I told him I try to do it and explain to me why I was having problem and it was just an awesome time. I'll be back next year to see him

They advertise they do not do a credit check same day guarantee! Charged me over $700 to do my taxes I already did myself but I needed the refund advance so much! They denied me in a second when I have a $4,000 return with no explanation nothing! DON'T GO HERE. THEY ARE LIARS!

My husband and I have always used TurboTax to file our own taxes but this year has been hard and are in a difficult place and decide to go to Jackson Hewitt to apply for the Free Rapid Refund (which we were charged $54 for). We were charged $567 to file for them to get my Social wrong. Which means we were denied the refund and now have to file an amendment and are no longer eligible to reapply for the advance. So not only they cost us the advance but now it will take even longer to get our refund because it has to be amended. We are going to lose our home because of this AND STILL HAVE TO PAY THE FEE. I am livid and need advice on what I can do.

Josh was awesome doing my taxes the first and second time. Was understandable and got it done right. I recommend. I go there every year. The lady are awesome. Love my kids. Go get your taxes done there. You won’t regret it.

First year using this company and it wasn't so much the technology behind it but the people implementing it. If you are located in the Greensboro NC area stay away from Pyramid Village. From the workers to the manager. The names escape me so I don't wish to insult anyone with a wrong name but the customer service is non-existent. Self accountability, informative council, and basic bedside manner is null and void. I'm not going to bore the reader with my specific situation but I will give a friendly warning to anyone attempting to use this company. Make sure you do not go to the one at pyramid village in Greensboro.

My husband and I always used Free Tax USA to do our taxes. The most we ever paid was $14.95 on our state return. We usually had our money in 7 days once the IRS starting to accept returns. This year we really needed the money immediately. We went to Jackson Hewitt to get an advance and we paid $500 for a $500 advance on a $6500 return! They ripped us off so badly! Don’t use them for your taxes, they are crooks!!!

For tax year 2021, did not file my RITA taxes, despite telling me otherwise. Now, I get a notification, in July 2023, that I'm delinquent. Very unprofessional. Tax preparer was late, brought her infant, distracted by cell phone, etc.

I should have read the reviews! I sat there while my "tax preparer" scanned all of my documents and plugged in numbers. He reminded me that he was just that...someone to prepare my taxes... nothing more! HE reminded me that what I hand him is what he puts in and is not responsible! That is something I could have done myself and should have. He told me that I owe the amount I owe but should think about what I earned. Maybe I should save more! Really!!!! Getting you the best tax return, owe or not, should include some conversation.

Every year prices are awful. We would not have gone this year but I received a code for half price. When the girl said it would be $500, $ 347 with a discount we were outraged. We are seniors who take standard deduction and have $1200 a year rental income. They gave another discount and we paid $275. I would hate to know what they would charge if we showed deductions. We will not go back because it is a total rip off.

On Feb 11th I had my taxes prepared at Jackson Hewitt. They charged me for a service I didn't ask for. I've made many calls to J.H. since asking for a refund. NO ONE WILL HELP ME. Staff inexperienced.

I scheduled an appointment, showed up, and the door was locked. Waited a bit, called customer service, who told me they took a personal day without telling me or rescheduling. They helped me make another appointment. The day before, I get a message saying my appointment was rescheduled to a random time, that I did not choose. Having my appointments cancelled and rescheduled without contacting me first is infuriating. I will never attempt to do business with them again.

He made me feel comfortable as we got things ready. Engaged with me as well as was ready to get me the best refund possible. Very professional and knowledgeable. He also shared a special discount because he's granted 2 a year. Absolutely fabulous.

I scheduled an appointment to have my taxes done by Jackson Hewitt. I wound up having to schedule 5 appointments and go through 3 tax preparers just to have my taxes done because the first two preparers refused to do them. They even took out $430 for their fees. I've tried to contact the company many times to get a refund of this $430 and still have not heard anything at all. Very unprofessional. Very disappointing.

Jackson Hewitt software could not handle my situation. I moved in 2022 and therefore was a partial year resident of my current state. The software could not handle this. There was no way to turn off their computations for the state return. The software could also not handle Qualified Charitable Donations so kept charging me tax on my donations even when I was entitled to the exemption. So, the tax total they produced was $3000 more than I actually owed. It forced you to take the numbers off your 1099 forms which did not show the QCD amounts. Evidently, the brokerages do not want to be liable for the non-profit status of the donation recipient, so they ignore the donation.

Have been coming to Kris at the Bedford, Tx (in Walmart) location for about 4 years now. She is the absolute best! Explains everything so we understands! She also makes something that usually isn’t enjoyable and very enjoyable experience!

After four visits to Jackson Hewitt my taxes were not prepared correctly. I go from a $2,000 return down to zero because somebody does not know how to do their job in complete training. I don't understand how you people can mess something up.

I worked with a tax preparer name Jodi, she told me she will try to get me back close to 7,000.00 and plus a cash advance. I qualified for 300.00 for the first cash advance but would get 750.00 for 2nd cash advance. So several weeks later I had the rest of my documents submitted remotely due to being sick. My tax preparer Jodi told me it was alright and she can file my taxes without me being present.

I sat down, told the woman I was upset that HR Block charged me 400.00 for my taxes. She never told me she was going to charge me 581.00. I’m a single mom, I own nothing. This was insane. And robbing me.

I just got done filing my taxes with Jackson Hewitt and I’m just plum sick, they charged me $800 to do my taxes which I could have done at any other tax place and I would have got $1000 more on my refund.

The 2022 season for the early refund and dance started on December 12th 2022. Well I went in today December 13th 2022 with my pay stubs in hand all documentation. I've been a customer of Jackson Hewitt for many years. Everything went through very smoothly and was told right off the bat by the tax preparer aka the office manager whose name just happens to be Candie that was approved for $1,000. Now I have never been denied an ERA so being approved was pretty much expected. Well the following day December 14th 2022 I get a phone call from the bank and let me clarify that Jackson Hewitt no longer uses they switched over to some POS place and I'll explain why I say that. So anyways I called the bank. They tell me I've been red flag because my Experian report is locked. Well no duh...

I would have given 0 stars if possible. This has been the WORST Experience ever. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and have shared this experience in person to everyone I know. I scheduled an appointment in early February. When I arrived at the closest office near me, I waited 30 minutes and no one showed up. When I finally got through to a person via phone to ask what was going on - they were 200 miles away and had no idea what was going on. I then called another JH office, made an appointment, worked with a specialist (Dwight). We decided to wait to file, per the agent's suggestion because he said it would be cheaper in a month. The agent kept all original paperwork.

I completed my taxes on 4/15/22 at the Jackson Hewitt located in Walmart at Green Acres Mall with Tax Preparer, Silton Grossett. Whenever I’ve filed my taxes, it takes about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. It took Mr. Grosset 5 hours 45 minutes to complete my taxes 12:58 PM - 6:46 PM (timestamp from Google Maps). He was extremely slow at no fault of my own. I had all my documents ready. He made several mistakes and had to go back to correct. Initially, I was told I would be getting back $5500 refund, then after he received my payment, he changed the refund amount to $1839 because he said that he made a ‘mistake’. He had to make a few phone calls for advice. He also missed my property taxes for the year. This was verified by another Tax Preparer/Reviewer from Jackson Hewitt.

My first and last time using JH. I was charged $534 in preparation fees which I’m still unclear as to what exactly those fees were for? The rep wasn’t very experienced she had to keep asking her colleague questions. What’s more, she told me the amount of my refund but what I actually received was nowhere near. In turn I called the office spoke with mgr. He rambled some explanation as to why and when I asked about the fee he stammered all over himself stating it was for preparing your taxes. I will not use JH again nor will I recommend to anyone. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and was definitely overcharged for the poor service I received. A total rip off…

The reason we chose this establishment was because of the $100 discount for new clients. I explained the cost of the other preparer and stated we did not want to spend that much. The preparer was very personable and she explained everything about the W-2. We get to the end of our appointment when the paperwork was printed out and saw that it was 100 more than the other one and the total was $600 for 20 & 21 for a single person with no additional forms, no deductions. That is absolutely ludicrous. They get you with the $100 coupon. I will never be back and I suggest you do your research before choosing them.

Why do we have to give even one star? Don't ever go here. It cost 349.00 to do my taxes and another 100 in fees. I have no allowances, single one W2. It's a scam. Save yourself a headache and stay away.

I went there about 1044 on 2/26/22 at the Seabrook TX location. I walked and instead of good morning or a hello. It was I just got here. My system is not even up. It was not only what she said but the way she said it. I will not be returning to that location. Some people should not be in customer service.

Have used them for years and this year has been the worst! 1st the women messed our taxes up (she did admit that), we paid $800 in fees which is triple than any other year! They have a guarantee that states you get the biggest refund or you get your fees back plus $100!! Complete lie! We showed proof of other tax agencies who could of got us more back! Jackson Hewitt does NOT honor that guarantee! Trying to get any assistance is impossible! We have called every number, escalation, created a ticket and nothing! It’s wrong to advertise a guarantee you don’t even honor! And highway robbery to charge $800 and then mess up our taxes! Never will go there again! Crooked!

I went to Jackson Hewitt this year. I always get $3,500 for the advance go big go home alone and this year it only gave me $1500. I don't understand why different this year. I've been very upset about this whole situation that I'm getting very aggravated and you go up there and like oh it's the well how come I got it for the past 4 years and not this year? Don't understand.

Jackson Hewitt is doing my taxes every year. They making filing my taxes easy and they are helpful and they like to care about people and want to help them out because they care about I haven't been to Jackson Hewitt in years. I will be going back every year. They help me better than any tax payer

The tax preparer walked in and said, "I’m here," she was short with every question I asked and seemed like she did not want to be there. When she finished my taxes she told me it would be $453 to file them! I asked why so much for a simple 1040A, she really had no answer. I took my documents and left. This place has poorly trained agents, no customer service skills and prices are a ripoff. I did my taxes on TurboTax and paid $160. Will never go there again.

This is my third year using J.H. services located in Walmart, Nottingham, Trenton, NJ. Their representative is fantastic.. extremely knowledgeable and professional. Friendly and courteous. I am extremely satisfied with his services. Thank you Craig **. You are a super asset.

I had my 2020 taxes prepared at the Boothwyn office in 2021. I received a letter stating my local taxes were not filed. When I spoke to the tax preparer he stated Jackson Hewitt will not fix the error. Now I have to pay for my local taxes prepared and pay the penalty for an error that Jackson Hewitt made and won't fix. This was my first time and my last. Their tax professionals are not professionals.

It was a fast and pleasant experience. She was very friendly and professional and made sure I got every tax credit I could and made my experience very nice. I will most definitely be back in the near future.

I paid Jackson Hewitt a lot of money to do my taxes because they're guaranteed to do it right, hahaha yeah right.. They filed for me in April of 2021. It's now November 2021 and still no refund.. After about 6 hours today on phone with IRS and IRS advocates I finally got an answer.. Jackson hewitt forgot to send the proper paperwork even after I took them back the letter I received from the IRS and what papers they needed. They still failed to fill out the proper paperwork again..so now only after I sent the proper work again will I receive my refund in 120 days..2 more months,, so that will be after Christmas or hell maybe even next year... DO NOT TRUST JACKSON HEWITT. IT'S A ** GUARANTEE. THEY DIDN'T FIX **.

Horrible as Hell. You guys charge me hundreds to do my taxes do my income tax for me. However, you guys make a mistake and I get penalties to do a payment amendment. You guys said you will cover the interest that will be charge, but when I went to hand you guys the paper the IRS send me, you guys did not even seem to care or even pay the interest. Instead, IRS even send another bill at me with a higher interest than before saying that I did not pay the interest when you guys are the one who is suppose to take care of it. Is this how you guys treat your customers when you guys make a mistake? It is just about $13 interest at first that you guys have to pay the IRS instead of me for your mistake, now it rises to $36. I can't even contact you guys since it's on a machine that does not even gives me an option. Seriously, I felt like I got Scam by you guys for 4 whole years asking you guys to do my income tax.

Due to Covid and time constraints I ended up at local Jackson Hewitt. I have very basic taxes but was having trouble getting IRS to acknowledge my free file return. My normal family firm charged me $64 for a more involved return last so I had the idea this would be about the same. It wasn't. I was charged $318.00 and if I had the money taken out of my tax refund it would cost $49 more. I obviously was upset and the preparer couldn't tell me why mine was so much. Later, on a few websites I found that a 1099R is 300.00 but mine is just plain income, no deductions, no schedules, no savings or IRAs just monthly income from early retirement (I was laid off). All she had to do was take standard deduction, check the tax table, and subtract to get refund or what was owed. That's it. They never told me or showed me prices. Ask them before they start on your return! This is a J.H. that's been in business for years and you get to their info through the website of the parent J.H. company.

Jackson Hewitt filed my taxes last year. They messed them up. Had to get someone else file an amendment. Jackson hewitt said they would return the fee I paid over a month ago. Still no refund. Getting runaround. Dont waste your time or money.

I went and did my tax return married filing jointly and when the return came American express serve card denied me any right whatsoever to our account. I called Jackson hewitt. They wouldn't help then came our stimulus. I was denied any right to it as well. So overall I was given what little my husband allowed me to have and nobody would help. Jackson hewitt basically said, "Sorry." Wouldnt even attempt to correct. I feel as if my taxes and stimulus wasn't both stolen.

I drop my documents at West Lafayette, IN. It has been a month and nobody has got back to me. Jennifer also has not returned my phone calls at least two times. Very unfriendly and very irresponsible service.

We took my boyfriend's taxes that they charged $50.00 for last year. Pedram spent close to 2 1/2 hours working the keyboard before announcing we would have to pay $386.00! WOW! When asked why it went from $50.00 to $386.00 Pedram couldn't answer. Claimed "It's the software". Claimed he was texting a manager to request a discount but no answer. My boyfriend's on Social Security with 2 forms ONLY! We went home and went to the IRS website and did the tax preparation for FREE in less than one half an hour. Taking advantage of disabled people is a disgrace. They should be fined!

I love Jackson Hewitt because they offer the tax advances, one with a fee and one without, and a smaller one as well. I used 2 out of 3. This really helped me at the beginning of the year, what with Covid-19 drama and all.

Due to my anxiety level & me being mentally exhausted beyond words, I'm unable to repeat every single lie, mess up, disrespectful manager, no knowledge employee, hours upon hours, & the feeling of someone just robbed me. I can't tell you 1 time I've ever had a single issue since the first year I was of age to file until I came here. Always go with your intuition b/c had I done so I wouldn't be here severely stressed, angry, and feeling defeated. Literally had to leave after spending 4 hours of misery for her to complete a very simple 1 person hoh w/ dependents, & 1 job with 2 w2's (2 positions at work) & her telling me it would be around 200 (she used JH site) then when completed turned into close to 900 (she made sure she did everything right on their estimator & was just as puzzled as me but didn't know why)!

My tax preparer Stephanie is awesome! She is thorough and answers all my questions if she doesn't know she will go find out! She goes the extra mile for her clients. Hope she prepares my taxes again next year!

Jackson Hewitt didn't tell me that if they used my 2019 earned income credit and child tax credit I wouldn't get my refund for 6 to 9 months so now my electric will be shut off. I will never go through them again. This is the second time I've not been able to get the money I needed to survive because of them. They should give me the money and wait the 6 to 9 months to get it themselves.

Had taxes done at Walmart in Palm Springs done. Was to receive tax preparation credit for $50.00. She had previous years of preparation for less money and did not give me credit. Asked her and said I should have reminded her before she hit send. Oh well, too bad. She was very stoic, no personality. Not friendly at all. Will use another tax preparer next year and not make any referrals to my local neighbors.

$664 DOLLARS TO FILE TAXES *I think it's important I share my experience*. Before I begin I want to advise prior to making a apt the office was already aware of what situation I needed help with. And I'm sure there have been situations like mine with previous clients where in the end it ended up costing the taxpayer higher because of whatever needed to do done. So in no way was I looking for anyone to tell me "Hey it's gonna be $664 to file up front". How would they know? But I was expecting Kristy ** to advise when I came to her prior something on the lines of "hey I've seen this in similar situations this. Could be a bit costly" but no. That would be too honest I guess.

Decided to use [popular, so I thought 'reputable'] Jackson Hewitt Tax Preparation Services (setup in Walmart stores) to prepare my 2018, 19 & 2020 taxes this year. JH tax preparer [S.S. in Claremont Florida] did my 2018/19 returns, for which I was only going to get back $182, for which S.S then asked me how much I could afford to pay for her preparing the returns, which completely stumped me because I went in with the prior knowledge that the preparation fees were PRESET from $29.99 to $84.99 depending on the simplicity or complexity of the return.

Leanna ** is by far the sweetest person that I have ever had do my taxes. She always has a smile on her face and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She makes filing taxes a fun experience. This is the second year in a row that I have gone to her and I won't be going to anyone else as long as she's still working here. Filing taxes use to be a time consuming headache and a hassle but now it's a easy and fast experience that leaves me feeling accomplished with one less task on my to do list. So thank you to Mrs ** for making filing my taxes a pleasant experience.

As soon as you walk into this office, you are greeted with a smile, a great atmosphere, very professional staff, and very knowledgeable, with all products and services, very informative and helpful in every aspect of being of service to their customers. A very comfortable experience.

The person that did our Federal taxes did them WRONG!!!! Had to wait 4 months to find this out by getting a letter from the IRS, then had to make an appointment with another office 40 miles away from where we live, to have that person pretty much do our taxes over again the right way, took over an hour. Also our return was a lot less because of her errors. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE JACKSON HEWITT. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Preparer was improperly trained and neglected to file paperwork on health insurance. Caused IRS to kick back return. I had to fix problem myself as my calls were never returned. Had to pay for bad job.

Worst experience of my life. I was charged $1,000. They had my information wrong. Held up my taxes. My address was wrong. I will never ever use this service and when I advised they messed my information up I was not compensated. They still wanted me to pay extra money after they messed up my taxes. Worst experience. I would not recommend this to anyone that I know.

This company is unbelievable. In early February, 2020, I went into Walmart in Castle Rock, CO to have two years of taxes amended 2017, 2018, and 2019 taxes done. I had always done my taxes on TurboTax but didn't know how to amend. It took nearly 7 hours to get them done because the gentleman doing them didn't know what he was doing.
