I'm a college student with a lot of bills to pay. I pay rent, I pay cable, I pay car insurance all while working a minimum wage job of 7.25 an hour. I subscribed to a reoccurring online transaction knowing it was within my budget. Unfortunately I was on the verge of not having enough money for my next payment and ended overdrawing my account. I was aware that there were overdraft fees and did all I could to pay them. Unfortunately I get payed every two weeks and had previously had to pay bills, and wouldn't be getting money into my bank account for another two weeks. My account is now $81 overdrawn. $81 dollars negative in my account that I needed for my insurance. Some people are living paycheck to paycheck and I don't believe Bank of America has that in mind when charging overdraft fees. $35 dollar overdraft fees are ridiculous for a college student.

Beware of BOA. They are scam artist. I recently had to close my savings and checkings account with this bank. They don't give you a grace period for overdraft fees. So they say that you get a 5 day grace period to bring your account up to date. They also told me that I have a protection plan that will cover my accounts if I was overdrawn. What a joke. They did not only hit me with a $35 penalty but added on another $70 which made the penalty $105 with no 5 day grace period.

They also take out $30 maintenance fees out of each account each month which I knew nothing about. The money that they swipe out of my account I did not get back. This bank is so frustrating to deal with. They will rob you blind. And don't get a customer service representative on the phone to deal with the situation. Such a headache. They won't fix the problem. They will just keep transferring you to different people until you eventually give in and hang up the phone. I give the BOA a 0 star.

Bank of America froze the acct with no notice or reason. I could not make deposits either online or in the bank. No one could explain to me why after at least a dozen tries in and out of bank trying to make deposits. Charged me fees, couldn't even use the acct. It took me 6 weeks to get someone on the phone to finally tell me that the acct to "non-response" of verification? Not ONE WORD in 6 weeks from the dozens of employees that I talked with. They wanted me to pay fees. I closed both. It was HORRENDOUS. I've never seen so many incompetent people working for the same Company in my life. No wonder they went broke.

I have received hundreds of dollars in overdraft fees in the past month not even realizing they were charging me for so many. I'm so angry and beyond unhappy with Bank of America. I have not been impressed whatsoever since I opened an account with them almost a year ago. They were shady about giving me a "business account" and saying to use it as a personal one and that is the best way to go. They are horrible at customer service or any form of contact. I can't even believe there is no real way to contact them except wait call during hours of operation only to sit on hold forever and only receive disappointing results. I have never ever been so upset with a financial establishment ever before. They are behind with technology, horrible at any kind of customer service or helping resolve issues, and their rates and operation standards are the worst of any bank I have ever used. Bank of America, go ** yourself.

I am a very responsible, kind, hardworking individual, and I have not been so upset with any company ever. Hahaha. I had to write a review on here because you don't even have any way to write a review, contact you other than the always busy chat that is unusable and phone line during business hours that is insane and does no good if you ever get through anyhow. I ** hope you go under Bank of America. You have stolen enough money from hardworking customers of yours already I can assure you. What an absolute disgrace of a company, a bank, and the worst customer service and really the most unfriendly user website or tools I have ever experienced.

Applied for a home loan at Bank of America on the 15th of October. Loan taker Lee ** took information over the phone and informed me that I would get a package in the mail. Received package, was missing documents and tried calling to see if additional package was coming. No response. 5 days later (20 Oct) after complaining supervisor Ryan ** from Jacksonville office called and stated loan officer Lee will call you and that another package will arrive. (26 Oct) Still no call from Lee **. 11 days and still counting. Loan fulfillment officer Lykesha ** called to say the delay is because we need Lee to call you and affirm you still want loan, to get appraisal done. She sent him an email and he responded back he will call me today, still no response.

I don't understand why they need him and only him to do this. I want the loan that is why I have 25 emails and 15 calls to you. I have contacted his supervisor with no response from either. I called South Dakota branch for help and Oak Brook Branch for help. they sent emails to everyone they can in office. No response. Terrible customer service. The more people I call the worse it gets. Everyone states they documented the account but what good is it if no one looks at it. Every day they waste the more money I lose in higher interest.

On Saturday October 24th, I went inside of the branch at the Mansfield Texas location to make a deposit with a teller by the name of Janet. I made a deposit for 120.00 in cash and 221.00 with a check. I went to car to double check my receipt only to find out that she made a total deposit for 241.00 not 341.00. I went back into the branch and it seem to me that she had another problem with a customer. Needless to say, I waited 16 minutes for her. So I finally got the opportunity to let her know that she shorted me 100.00. Janet fixed the problem and didn't say "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" or "I'm sorry about the mistake." She act like it was no problem. I just thought it was poor customer service. I think the next time, I will try a different teller.

Hello, was dealing with BOA for 80 days. Everything was set. Was told had a final approval by home loans manager Kevin then talked to processor and was told never had final approval. Kevin proceeds to tell me to hang in there - give him a couple of days to get this loan closed. Well 2 weeks passed. Horrible communication. I would email - he would not return emails for a couple days if he returned at all. My point is it seems like BOA does not know what they are doing. Had to submit same paperwork 4 times. Had talked with 4 different people about same paperwork. Ridiculous. Changing banks ASAP.

At this point I believe it is corruption, as no one can be this incompetent. There is no end in sight and they keep telling me I have to wait for holds that they placed. Now they're telling me again that a "check is in the mail" when I specifically told them I would go into a branch and get the funds. They want me to wait another 48 hours while they cancel the check I never requested. This is insane. I can't believe they are allowed to treat customers like this when they only want to withdraw money that belongs to the CUSTOMER!

I had one recent Late Payment which happened due to a BofA mistake and they reported it to the Credit Bureaus. I contacted them and informed BofA that I had set up an automatic payment since I was going to be gone during the payment time and would not have any service/internet access. When I arrived home back from the trip there had been an error and the payment had not gone through. I had received late payment fees as well as they had reported it to the agencies.

Although I paid the full balance right away like I always do and they reversed the late payment, they would not help with the Credit Report. That was unacceptable since it was not an error on my end. They say there is nothing they could do yet when I spoke to all Credit Agencies. They informed me that it is just up to the Bank to say it was a tech error. BofA looked into it again and said although I have been a client for 11 years there is nothing they can do. That is terrible service. They just lost a client! Stay away from them!

I finally hung up tired of waiting. They have been robbing me the entire time. Their associates aren't very friendly and they treat you as if they don't care about your business. I had three accounts with Bank of America and am happy to say I am closing them all and taking my business elsewhere. I do not recommend them to anyone especially not teenagers or young adults considering opening up accounts for the first time. Their maintenance fees are high and service sucks.

What I am writing about, no one from that bank will care. My opinion to them won't matter, but I hope any individual trying and interested in opening an account with them takes heed to the fact that this bank is truly the worst of institutions in American business. Their products and everything about their business practices are outright wrong and should be illegal.

If anyone has any sense and values their peace of mind, go find a credit union, but I doubt that would even help. Their customer service to actual tellers are slow and I mean this in the most insulting way possible! If you go into the ATM branches, at most you will see two tellers and a long line. People flock to Bank of America because they have no idea how ** the bank is. I called the credit department and I was transferred a total of 6 times, after 33 minutes of calling. Called back a few times and after 3 transfers, I was told what I was inquiring about, their offices closed. Are you kidding me, should it take 10 people to tell me they are closed. I have been charged overdraft fees for unnecessarily. Save yourself the headache and a decent bank to keep YOUR money!

Accidentally transferred all the money in checking acct. to my credit card (BoA app). Called them after it posted to get refunded majority back. So they said okay. 3-5 business days, okay. Called after third business day and they said it’s processing. Called after 5th business day, processing. Called on Columbus Day, credit side said checking account dept. closed and that might be why it wouldn't come, okay. Called two days later, Wednesday. The rep says all 4 people prior hadn't done it correctly. He did it right and now they say another 3-5 days! Should I be penalized because they messed up, I live in the real world. They took 24 hours to withdraw it but now it's coming on 3 weeks!

Then the Wednesday rep got in touch with checking side and they put a "ghost" temp credit that fell off at midnight. I bought something small and if part of my check didn't deposit this morning I would have gotten an overdraft fee that they would have called a legitimate charge. I want to sue them so bad I would pay! What business has 4 employees not do their job and the customer still gets penalized and no one ever seems to can do anything. Worst bank ever! Sitting on our bailout money while still killing us with fees and charges. What the hell is account maintenance charge?! 7 dollars for you to do what? Force people to put $250 a month into your cruddy bank. The WORST. You’re the reason why these banks need to get broken up. Then they proceed to ask me questions they already know the answer to that wastes even more of my time and really makes me angry. Other than that they seem like an ok bank, and are very conveniently located all over my city. Real stingy about who they lend to though. They don't mind playing with your money and making money off of it while you're not using it. But when time comes for you to need some, expect them to run you through flaming 100 hoops, then tell you no, unless you have lots of money, then they'll give you some. This is not a bank for poor struggling folks like me. Poor people would be much better served by joining a Credit Union like I was wisely advised to by a close friend. And there my penitence started. Contacted Bank of America Wire transfer 1 877-3376703 and was told, that they sent the money and as far as they care, they are done. Call Barclays, they told me that I was not their customer and cannot give me any information. Recommended to tell BOA to place a trace to see where they sent the money.

And then several calls were made to BOA wire transfer Dept and told me the same thing. Then I asked to make a trace and send me the information to show my supplier that the moneys has been sent. Last week I call the bank and told them to return my money. It is not simple. Now I have to wait until the other bank, Barclays, send the money if they can find it. 1 month and 3 days today I am in the same predicament, no money, no papers no information. Requested all the paperwork regarding the transaction, and they told me they cannot supply that because they needed in case I plan to demand. Do not know what to do, but for sure, they will not take 7670.00 hard earn money from me. Bank of America is a mess.

I had two payment transactions scheduled for a Tuesday. On Monday I realized I had to amend one of the payments or it would overdraft my account. I log on to change the payment and it says the money has already gone out of my account. This is a day before I had actually scheduled the transactions. Of course BoA charges me an exorbitant fee for the overdraft.

When I call to let them know that the reason the account was overdrafted is because they took the funds out a day early, they tell me that "Our policy is very clear on this. It says the money can come out the day before or the day after the transaction is scheduled." To which I replied, "That's not clear at all. How do I know which day it will be, the day before or the day after?" Their response: "In this instance it was the day before. Our policy is clear and there is nothing we can do." The representative then hung up the phone on me. I will be closing my account tomorrow. Never using Bank of America again.

I just recently got laid off from my job, and I am on unemployment until I find another job. I get my unemployment money weekly on a BofA card. I called twice inquiring how to get an account number, so I could pay some online bills. The BofA rep wouldn't help me. Tonight I went to the bank with a few questions, and the two women bank tellers were very rude, disrespectful and snobby. They insisted that they couldn't help me with "those kinds of cards" and they needed me to move so they could help the woman behind me. I tried two more times to ask questions about recent activity, and the said "We don't help with those kinds of cards. Call the number on the back."

When I explained I got the exact same treatment when I tried calling, they said nothing. They would not help me. They wouldn't explain anything to me. Basically, they said they just put their name on the unemployment card, but they don't service those accounts. They were very snobby, looking down at me the whole time. Only thing I can say... karma. Let's hope they never lose their job at BofA and need assistance while they search for another one. I was humiliated by the time I left. Why, because I lost my job and dared to ask a question about my money. They should be ashamed. I will NEVER do business with BofA once I get a job and my unemployment ceases. I need a temp card. I tried calling, online - I need a physical temp card. There should be one associate just for this situation... It would make the office clear out all the people waiting to do the same. It is now 12:20pm and the bank closes in 40min. It is extremely frustrating when one can not be dealt with in a timely fashion. I have still been unable to cancel my card, request a new one, and receive a temp card. I ran out of checks and still pay my mortgage and one car payment by going to the credit union where I have the loans and pay them in person, every month. Every other bill I pay online. Today I went to Bank of America to acquire a cashier’s check and a money order. One check was over a thousand and the other was not. I fill out the paperwork for the teller and she does not mention the $10 and the $5 charge so they had to be rewritten. Then, she asks for my ID and tells me that my signature does not look like it did when I opened the account so I needed to sign exactly like I did when I opened the account. I told her No, I was not doing that.

The manager came over and looked at my driver’s license and had the common sense to know that I opened the account in 2001. It is almost 2016. My signature is not going to look exactly like it did 15 years ago. I was so mad I almost closed my account. I will probably do so but I'm just so busy with life I don't have time today.

The only way for me to be more unimpressed with Bank of America would be for them to openly participating in illegal activity. I recently consulted with the customer service department about a $12 monthly fee due to the fact that I did not utilize direct deposit or have over $2500 currently in the account. I was shocked to find the initial CS representative to be rude and blatantly disrespectful. Of course I asked to speak with her manager and after an additional five minutes on hold, the Manager also seemed belligerent and unwilling to help.

I consider it my fault that I missed the $12 fee for over a year. However, the one helpful thing the manager did do, was to brazenly offer me directions on the best ways to close my account. Again $12 per month didn't exactly make me happy, but to treat someone with disrespect is another issue entirely. If it's of any help, I also had over several hundred dollars in the account when talking with customer service. Not only do I plan on never willingly doing business with Bank of America again, from this point on I question institutions who do.

"Your money is disappeared, sorry for inconvenience." I deposited 500$'s to Bank of America ATM this Sunday. I got a receipt saying "Sorry, some of your items could not be processed or returned. Please contact your financial institution." The referred items are my money. ATM asks how much I put in, I typed 500$, but I see that only 300$ is counted. Of course I call the number on the receipt. It's Sunday 6:07 PM and no one is there to assist. I wait until Tuesday, finally the pending transactions processes as 300$. My 200$s is disappeared to oblivion. Unbelievable. This is the thank you I got for putting your money to Bank of America.

I had to take time off my work today and call before they close to get my money back. I was on hold more than 30 minutes (that's half of my lunch break) and I spent all my breaks dealing with them not to mention worrying about my money since Sunday. They transferred me to fraud department to file a claim. I will need to receive a form and fill it out and send them back within 45 days otherwise I can forget my money. Now I need to jump all the hoops if I want my money back. So who makes up for the inconvenience and stress this caused, the times I spent on the phone, filling forms, sending them back and whatever else I will have to do because of their malfunctioning machine. No one seem to have an answer to that question. I just get to have a "Sorry" back...

So be careful putting cash to BofA ATM machines. They basically might say, "Sorry your money disappeared." and if you want your money back... well good luck. I am not putting money there again. I cannot see this happening in the bank with a teller basically telling you: "oops sorry... I don't know where your money went all of a sudden." You would think someone gets reported about the malfunctions. They must also have the money in the machine somewhere. It should have been checked and got corrected by a person. But no instead you would need to chase it and do all the work for them. Now, I am hoping a "Fraud claim" investigation against their very own ATM machine will conclude on my favor. I doubt if I will get any compensation for the time and frustration this caused me based on what I heard so far.

I said "Ya but why did it get rejected the first time?" and she said "You were in this place for the first time so that's why".

As I pressed for more info she said they wanted to update their fraud protection info. I told them I was very embarrassed that this happened. They told me it would be forty-eight hours to put all the money back in and I said that was unacceptable because now I'm worried about the checks I have pending. So she reversed all the transactions. Five of them at 78.00 a piece. The next Bank of America women told me it was the auto place's fault for putting it through so many times although she did apologize. I asked if this would happen to me again if I went in somewhere new or if it would happen to my wife and she said it shouldn't. Ya ok. They are terrible.

They told me that I need to deposit the money before the end of the day at midnight to avoid the fees. I did at 11pm and still got fees the next day. I called and asked them about it and they told me that I was too late and that I should have had the money in there before 7. Then they told me that there was nothing they could do about all of the fees. I asked if there was anything they could do even for one because I did have the money in there before midnight. They still said that there was nothing they could do.

I needed to transfer money from my Direct Express Social Security Account to my Bank of America account. Time was of the essence as they say. The Teller after trying to transfer the money a number of times said he could not facilitate my request and pointedly and loudly asked if I had enough money in my account. Somewhat taken aback at his manner, I sheepishly replied that I thought I did. He then repeated that he could not facilitate my request. I suggested that I could try to get the cash from the BOA ATM and then deposit the cash into my BOA account, which I did successfully. When he handed me my receipt for the transaction I noticed that there was a $3 charge for the ATM transaction. I questioned the charge and was told that it was a fixed charge and there was nothing he could do about it. I asked to see the manager because it was not my fault if the bank was unable to complete the transaction as requested.

After maybe ten minutes of waiting I saw the manager walking through the lobby and told him what happened. He apologized for the inconvenience, asked me for my phone number, and said he would call me personally after removing the charge. My giddy excitement diminished over the next days and weeks until I got my statement from Direct Express showing a $3 charge. Needless to say the Manager did not call me. The three dollar charge doesn't seem like much but if they do that to every customer it soon does. And, as another complainant said - It's the principle. A principle I'm sure I can find at one of my small local banks.

I am shocked that BOA has a rating on 1 star. I have never had any issues with them. I am struggling with repairing my credit and they offered me a credit card to help build my credit back up with very little fees. Sure I am using my own money at the beginning but I just recently got bumped up $1000 limit and I did not have to add any of my money for that. If for whatever reason your account goes negative they will take money out of your savings and add it to your checking so you will not go too far in the red. It happened to me once and it was a life saver. You can also opt in a program they call Keep The Change or something like that and if you spend $10.23 they round it up to $11 and then the $.077 to your savings and believe me it adds up quick. I love BOA.

I have been with Bank of America for about 6 years. I am about to close all of my accounts with this bank. I had a home loan with this bank until they sold it to another mortgage company for no reason and without notice. Paid on time on mortgage as well. Well first off Bank of America charges overdraft fees before a transaction is even processed. I never write bad checks or anything like that but I had a debit charge come out like 5 days after the transaction and when I got the alert that my account was overdrawn I immediately transferred the money from my savings account to my checking account to cover it. Mind you the transaction was still in processing, hadn't even posted yet when I transferred the funds. Then two days later I get another notification that my account was overdrawn again! I was like what is going on!

I logged into my account and Bank of America charged two overdraft fees for the transaction two days prior. One for saying the transaction wasn't covered even though I did transfer the money to the account before it even processed and was charged again because OD fee they charged me put my account in -8.00 so they charged another fee for the negative -8.00. I called to see why and they said that the system automatically does it and there was nothing they can do. I told them that most of my money is in another bank and it would take 3-4 business days to cover those OD fees. I was advised I would be charged again 35.00 because by the time the funds hit it would be 5 days of a negative balance! I am like wow all of these fees for a transaction that was less than 20.00!

Needless to say I was stuck with 150.00 in OD fees for one transaction! Now I have set up all of my direct deposits to my USAA account. Can't be with a bank that just wants to profit off of people. I feel sorry for all those who are like me that are on disability and only get paid once a month and to have a bank make things even harder for you. Even when you do right by them!

After a year and a half of delays from BoA on a short sale, I was put in touch with "Resolutions" department to voice my complaint. I had a couple calls with my contact person and then she stopped calling. Instead, I got a phone call and voice mail from a new person. I then found out that they said I could not be reached and so they closed my case. To be clear: I picked up the phone every time my contact person called, but she shuffled me off to the next person in line. When I missed one call from her, she just closed my case. I later heard from a friend who works for them that this is a very common practice: they pass you off to the next person rather than talk to you and then close your case. What kind of way to run a business is this? I called back 4 times, left messages, and even took to Twitter. No reply from BoA. If I never do business with you guys again, it will be too soon. Very angry.

UPDATED ON 01/22/2016: Our realtor found people in our home doing work. They said they were hired by Bank of America to do pre-foreclosure cleanup. Funny thing, BoA never told us about that. Plus, we are NOT in foreclosure. We are in a short sale process. If you look up "Dual Tracking" you'll find it's the practice of slow-walking a short sale (I think a year and half qualifies) while moving a client into foreclosure. Pro tip to BoA: It's illegal.

Took the short time of 4 months for me to get fed up with their antics and close my accounts. You will never get a cent of my lifetime's money ever. Do not expect them to help if you have problems with your account. They are sketchy about their fees; they will still charge you money even if you meet the minimum account requirements. Laughable that they shrug off how a banker promised me that I would get a bonus for opening my account (I even had her note my account and confirmed by a different associate, the note zapped, disappeared).

Website is non-responsive and bulky. They are behind the competition in getting changes and upgrades to their system. The banker that I closed my account with did not care about why I was doing so. In fact, the 5+ interactions I had with separate employees speak as if it's not their problem. The employees are liars and good luck with tracking the same one down next month; their bankers flee the light faster than cockroaches. I will continue banking with Chase, at least they give a care about me.

It was my fault. I'm a struggling individual who is trying to repair my credit. I deliberately pay for items with insufficient funds in the account, but keep a mental note that I'll suffer the overdraft charge because I have a portion of my check deposited every 2 weeks to cover the items (plus overdraft charges). WELL, BOA didn't pay the items and charged me an NSF fee. Ok. I'll live. However, the items got presented again to my account and I was charged an overdraft charge AGAIN! Not only that, but they charged me an "extended overdraft" charge.

In the space of TWO WEEKS, I got charged $35 THIRTEEN TIMES. Do the math. That's $455. On top of that, I contacted the bank because I didn't find it fair for them to charge me if they didn't pay for the items. I requested a courtesy waiver. First, I was hung up on. I called back and spoke to the RUDEST "manager". No empathy. No heart whatsoever. I get the worst customer service every time I call or visit BOA. They need to be closed down. I have just closed my acct and plan to stay with Wells Fargo who treat customers better & give courtesy overdraft waivers. BOA won't get another penny of my hard earned money or have me as a customer! I won't recommend my worst enemy to bank with them!

She died a couple of years ago and she had some money left in the bank, I did have my name on the account. I pretty much ignored the account until recently. By this time BoA had been charging $25 a month to the account, the account was now in the negative. So, while the account had money in it, they quickly sucked it dry, then they started charging the account. I go in to talk to the manager at the branch, and explain the situation. She says, "Someone was getting statements, and anytime you try to try to do anything at any bank, this will show up. You'll have trouble opening any accounts at any bank because you owe us money." I was contacted by BofA Fraud Services on Sept 04th to inquire about these suspicious activities. I was shocked to hear how easily my banking was breached. I requested an immediate freeze on the account to prevent further illegal activity.

It is now Sept 11 and no one has called back from BofA and my checking account is now showing merchant chargebacks totaling over $10,000.00, which have been debited from my account. Evidently no freeze or hold was placed and the security/fraud department is not receiving calls today! To add insult to injury, I needed to put a BofA rep on temporary hold, who I was speaking to today. She dared to say that she would hold no longer than 2 minutes!!!

When I came back to the call, I was livid. That FN bank has already consumed hours of my time, caused me terrible stress over the lack of confidence and THEY can't wait for more than a couple of minutes to assist me with this very serious issue. Yet it is perfectly acceptable for them to have me wait 45 minutes or longer. I plan on leaving BofA permanently. They are unprepared for security failures like the one I am dealing with.

The director for my second job is out of the country and asked me to simply deposit 2 checks into her account while she was gone. I went and filled out the deposit slip, checks were signed and it should have been very simple for this transaction to take place. The teller proceeded to tell me to swipe my card. I did not have a card for the account. I asked her to please make the deposit with the filled out deposit slip. She said because I was not the actual account holder that I would have to go out to the ATM and make a cardless deposit. I realize that I am not the account holder, but I am the office manager for the account holder. As I mentioned, she is out of the country.

The clock is ticking and I go outside to the ATM to try to make the deposit without a card. I could not figure out how in the world to do this and had to go back into the bank. We are now on about 20 minutes with the waiting involved. I saw a bank employee walking around in the bank and asked if he could help me. He looked as if he was maybe in a higher position. I re-explained the situation and he said "Oh yes we can help you. Just go and get in line (again) and as long as you have the account number it will be fine".

When I went back to the same teller and advised that the gentleman said that they could do it, she laughed and said "Oh I can and when we are not so short staffed I will go outside with you and walk you through it". When did banks become so heartless? It would have been so much easier and so much more customer service oriented to just do the deposit to begin with. I have had really horrible experiences with B of A. I never file complaints but just had to do this. I hope that someone with B of A will receive this information and take this to heart.

Prior to her passing we had made a few attempts to close the account by having her issue checks, because of the balances they requested that she had to come in person. She spent the last several months hospitalized so bringing her to the bank wasn't an option. Upon her death the accounts were frozen by BOA (no longer getting interest). Since she hadn't left a will we went through the surrogates office and obtained documentation to have the funds released to my dad. I went with my dad to the bank with the documentation to have them issue a check to him to close the accounts. Upon arriving and giving the bank manager the documents, we requested that the accounts be closed. The manager asked for an additional form L8 (for tax purposes) which we did not have, she then went on to ask for identification for my dad.

Since he had given up his license he did not have an identification that had his picture on it. When I began to argue with her another bank employee came into the office and demanded that I lower my voice or she would call the police and have me removed from the bank. I told her to feel free to do so that I had no intention of being silent. I told them that he did not have a photo identification, she asked if he had a passport that wasn't expired, being that my parents had not left the country in several years it was more than likely expired. I was told that they would only accept a valid passport as ID. Needless to say the bank still has the funds, and we are no closer to getting them released. I think that Bank of America should really rethink their policy on how they treat the families of an estate..

IF I COULD HAVE GIVEN THESE 0 STARS I WOULD HAVE!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE ESPECIALLY THE ONE ON MAINE MALL!!! You will regret it. I had to book a flight the last minute. I am working with a new company so the direct deposit was not set up as yet. So I had to use another company’s card temporarily. In order to make the flight purchase I can only pay with a debit or credit card. When I eventually found a ticket the cheapest one was $416.30. I had $303 on that card plus $123 in cash. The intention was to put all the money on that card to make my purchase. However I was not able to do that because that bank is nowhere near me. Now with only this amount of money to my name I went go Bank of America on the Maine Mall in South Portland Maine.

I attempted several times to draw $300 from my card but Bank of America charges $3 when you draw money from their machine plus $1 and some cents for charges that they claim are "NOT ON US", that’s exactly what the bank statement says. I DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE but to draw $280 I then added it to the $123 that I had in my purse. I then went to the "SENIOR TELLER AUTUMN" and gave her the money. I then ask if there was any way of putting money on my other card and she said no. Only Bank of America cards can be used. She then asked how much money I had on there so I told her $303. So I said, “Ok put the money I gave you on my Bank of America card instead.” Because I was in a hurry I didn’t check the receipt given. I even asked who should I contact about my account when traveling because I’m leaving the country on Sunday and she said to contact customer service. I said ok then left.

After leaving to go buy my ticket they said the card declined. I told them that’s impossible because I’m supposed to have $423 in my account because I made sure not to put the exact $$416.30 on there. They tried multiple times and it didn’t work. I then check the receipt given and realized that SENIOR TELLER AUTUMN had deposited $303 instead of my $423. I then had to rush back to the bank (I don’t drive) to tell her about the error. She said ok she’s gonna check. I stood patiently waiting for her to check. She then said she is not over in her cash draw so the money is correct. SO BASICALLY I am BLACK so I’m a liar. She then called her manager and she said the same thing. As long as I did not check it myself you can tell me anything. Now she then took me to the branch manager and I explained the situation to them. She was basically taking their side.

Now what I am saying is if I drew $280 and there was no money in the account how did you get $303? Machines DO NOT give $3 bills and if I gonna buy a ticket why would I just walk with $3 to add to $280 if that does not begin to cover my plane fare. And the last time I check $280 + $3 does not give $303. I asked to see the camera footage in the bank. The manager told me that I would not see it because it only recognizes faces just in case there is a robbery. So I am saying if you see a person’s face from a camera above aren’t you gonna see their entire body? I asked again to see the footage. I was told that they don’t have it there and it would take days to get from the security team which would be the following week. I then told her I need to book a flight by Sunday the latest as I told the teller. I CANNOT COME BACK NEXT WEEK. I was the sent from the office to sit in the main part of the bank.

A few minutes later the supervisor came to me and said she and the manager just watched the footage and they didn’t see me take any money out of your purse at the counter. I then said to her, “I did not tell you I took it out at the teller's counter”. I took it out when leaving the atm in the bank before I reached the teller. I TOOK IT OUT AND ADDED IT TO THE $280 THEN I GAVE THE TELLER. SHE THEN SAID THEY CAN’T SHOW ME THE FOOTAGE. So at first they couldn’t get the security footage of the bank until the next week from the security team but all of a sudden you two were watching it in the bank. So which one was a lie!! She then said in order to see the footage I would have to wait next week to meet with the security team to see the footage. What I want to know is what is the big secret with the footage. Why I can’t see it?

IF SOMEONE MADE A MISTAKE I DIDN’T CARE. I JUST WANTED MY MONEY FOR MY PLANE TICKET!! BUT TO MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A LIAR!! THAT’S where I draw the line!! I immediately told her to close my account as I will not be doing business with them! She even seemed all too happy to do so! So it’s an emergency and I am out $120 for my plane ticket. They didn’t care that I lost. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even remember seeing Autumn count the cash. Because she misunderstood me she probably that I said, “The money I gave you is $303”, and she just put that in the system. It was $420 in twenties plus the three $1. I will be contacting my lawyer about this!! These people are thieves and should be reprimanded.

I WAS HOME ALL DAY BY MYSELF SO EVEN IF I LEFT IT AT HOME YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN IT ON MY BED WHERE I LEFT SOME PENNIES AND quarters. I will tell everyone that I know to not use Bank of America because their employees are thieves!!! My money will also not make you any better and will lose billions of dollars when people turn away from your bank. Asked her to call back after 5. She told me she couldn't as she gets off at 4. Asked her to email me the steps. Again, she said "No," that she does not have email capability. Bank of America is so unfriendly! There are better banks out there. USAA, Discover Bank, Ally. This issue may have been taken care of, but there are NO branches in my area.

I have a few accounts set up with automatic payments. And of course there are times when items are processing and the balance doesn't reflect the correct balance. So anyway I called in to understand why the bank would authorize a payment to go through knowing there wasn't enough funds to cover it, and of course the representative couldn't give me a direct answer besides letting me know that they had to draw money from another account (so now one has a $0 balance and the other has a negative balance), plus I will be charged the $35 overdraft fee. Wow that makes a lot of sense. And this has happened before but did not want to go through the hassle of changing my account on everything. But honestly all they're doing is making money off of people with no legit reason, not to mention all of the "service fees" they take out every month. Any suggestions on which bank will not put me through this ridiculousness??

A check I wrote on July 24, 2015, and presented to another bank ON THAT DAY and reflected in that account overnight, JUST cleared my BOA account on 8/19/15. There was no question of fraud, since I have written checks to this account before. So what happened to the check for 26 days? Did someone lose it? Or did they hold it and hope I would forget I wrote the check and withdraw funds from my checking account that would have brought my account balance below the required minimum? If that had happened, I would have had to pay a $12 account fee.

This is the only account I have left with BOA - we pulled all of our other business from them, including an equity line and two credit cards. They can't even manage one small checking account. I have had more than one experience where I can't help but think BOA manipulates customer accounts. That is why we left them. Their online system couldn't even report the correct home equity line balance. I am very pleased with the bank we went to; they appreciate our business and we have had no issues with them so far.. It must be that they remember that the funds in our checking account are OURS, NOT THEIRS!

I immediately called to dispute it. I was asked what the actual fare was and the difference was going to be temporarily credited back to my account.

Another 2 weeks or so go by and I received a letter from Bank of America that they basically denied my dispute and they are going to take back the credited money. They stated that since I consented the transaction with my signature, there is nothing they can do about it. They track your account for any suspicious activity knowing that if any fraudulent activity occurs, they will have to pay you back, so they are pretty diligent when it comes to their money. Quite possibly the WORST and most FRUSTRATING customer service experience of my adult life. The sad part is there isn't one word in that phrase I would say is an exaggeration. I've been with Bank of America for almost 10 years now. Now I understand that I am not the perfect customer (I overdraft like all the time) I also understand that I'm not the ONLY customer. But when it comes to other people's money and most importantly access to that money when they need it the most you have failed miserably as an organization. It all started almost 2 weeks ago when I needed to pay my rent and my cell phone which had been switched off. That's when my debit card came in as declined. I knew my pay check had come in so I didn't understand. I then went on the BOA app where there was a message that I needed to call in because my debit card had been compromised.

I had not received an email, text or letter saying that they had suspended my card (Strike1). I then call in to ask what's going on and it was then, that one of your agents told me one of the merchants I had used had their security database hacked into and that my info had been compromised. Ok, I get it. So I ask the agent who the merchant was and his response: "Well I can't tell you, but what I can tell you is that they are safer to use than before." (Strike 2). What kind of half ** response is that?! It made me immediately think it was BANK OF AMERICA that had been compromised. He then proceeded to help me pay my bill while he was on the phone. Then he gave me a PIN number and told me that while I waited for my debit card which would take 5-10 business days to get to me, I could call in to BOA, give them the pin and I could use my old debit card for business transactions.

If you heard this conversation you would see that the customer service agent doesn't know his face from a whole in the wall. As inconvenient as it is to have to call in, at least I could get to my money. So I call in to take money out for the weekend and it worked ok. I then call in the next day and get a young woman. I needed to take the money out for my rent and to pay a short term loan. This interaction WAS HORRIBLE! From the very beginning you could tell the agent was totally over the conversation and didn't care to really listen to what I had to say. I told her I was calling in to use the PIN. She cuts me off and says, "I've already used it." I tell her the other agent had not told me it was a "one time courtesy" and that I needed this money urgently... That I was already behind on my bills because of this. Her response: "Well why didn't you take out the money when you had a chance yesterday?"

Really?!?! Had I known this was going to happen, I would have wiped out my account! That's when I lost it. Not only are making this bad situation worse with your lack of empathy, but you're not even TRYING to make it look like you care. This agent cut me off 3x before I lost all sense of respect for her and started to curse. She let me get THAT upset and tell me repeatedly that I was basically out of luck before she decided she could waive whatever the hell she needed to so that I could get to MY MONEY! MY MONEY THAT I WORK SO HARD FOR, THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE 2 HOURS DAILY FOR, THE MONEY THAT KEEPS MY household from falling apart. How dare you. I was so upset. I called back and asked to speak with a manager. The agent that transferred me was lovely. The manager I spoke to took the time to listen and calm me down. You see, it's never been about getting perfect customer service every single time...

It's about getting some kind of consistency in the customer service you receive. How is it that I have to sift through 3 or 4 bad experiences, to get some semblance of empathy or genuine care?! It just isn't there... It was at some point but you lost MOJO Bank of America. I called today because it is now Sunday and guess what?! Still no card by mail. The agent I spoke to today seemed lost. There were apparently no notes regarding all the nonsense. Her resolution: "I'll cancel the card we sent you a week and half ago and send you a new one". How long will this take? Another 7 to 10 business days!!! She said I should just make my way to a branch to get debit card. She's right. I should make my way to branch which I'll Do Monday, but it's going to be so that I can take all my money out, close my almost 10 year account and take my business to CHASE! Sayonara!!!

So I went out and bought a few things, everything went good, then I got home and checked my account... It was back in the negative. So I checked my account and all of the transactions I made were there but I only spent about $15. So I called pissed off and they said my account NEVER showed a +$160 balance... even though it happened not even a hour before. So basically they edited my account to make it look like I spent all the money when I never did.

Fast forward to today a $35 fee was taken out of my checking a day ago so I'm just now calling them and they say there was never a $35 fee... and they made it look like I spent the money AGAIN... I call and they act like I'm lying. They don't care about anything I have to say, and usually try to talk over me. This company is **. The only reason I'm keeping them is so I can prove that they're doing illegal things. Every negative balance I get I'm screenshotting it for proof. I'd recommend going to Chase.

They try to seem benevolent and blame it on me for not knowing how to bank but in reality these crafty sobs are really just trying to take my money. Seriously. I NEVER know how much money I really have. I check my balance 3-4 times a day. This hasn't happened with other banks.

But I guess the thing that really ticked me off, LONG story short, I tried to deposit a check, a BofA representative told me it didn't go thru. TOLD ME I could cash it. So I did!! But surprise it DID go through, except I never saw it hit my account. All week my balance was never exponentially increased. Remained normal. Not until 5 days later did I find it in my history when they decided the take that money back. And now I have a dup deposits and my account is overdrawn a ridiculous

    amount including fees.

I called the bank several times and explained I was LIED to. And despite the check hitting my bank, I never actually even saw it. They removed some fees because I was literally yelling (lol) but they said there's nothing they can do and I owe them. It's like I was scammed!! Approximately 3 months ago my husband deposited 3 checks into the Bank of America ATM (located at 1715 N. Vermont, Los Angeles, CA) and the ATM ate the checks but did not recognize the deposit. It then printed a receipt with a customer service number. We immediately called and were told that BOA would clear $700 from the deposit -- the total amount owed is approx. $2,500. We are in the process of tracking down the different payroll companies since my husband works freelance the amounts are always different (which we told the BOA agent). We were then asked to wait until BOA found the missing checks and the remainder would be deposited. Not a great response - but we accepted to go through the claims process and get our money back.

A few months pass and we finally receive a letter from BOA stating they never found the checks and therefore would not only NOT pay us the money owed but they would be REMOVING the $700 from our account. Again we immediately called BOA to ask, "How is this possible???" How is it possible that THEIR ATM ate our checks and we are being held responsible??? Where is our money?? What happened to our checks??? After escalating the call we were told by a claims manager, Andrew, that they are continuing the investigation however they never found the checks when they opened the ATM. I stated that I understand they have not yet found our checks however it's impossible that they disappeared into thin air. I urged for BOA to return the money to my husband's account while this investigation continued and once we have tracked down the uncashed payroll checks BOA could pay us the difference owed.

I was told again that because they never found the checks there is no reason to continue with this claim and that this problem happens frequently. We were told to track down the missing checks, request stop payment and have those checks re-issued. The problem we are facing is that my husband is freelance tracking down a paycheck from 3 months ago is like looking for a needle in a stack of hay. We are being held responsible for the ATM eating the checks and if we cannot find those un-cashed checks we are at a loss and that is unacceptable. I told BOA after 10 years of doing business with them we will be closing our account and moving to Wells Fargo. Treating your customer like a liar or a criminal is not OK. Their ATM ate our deposit and now we are suffering.

They should of called me instead of mail, very unprofessional. I didn't even have a warning. Then they said I need to make a police report of fraud and scam. Guess a lot of those were going around. Thought BOA had fraud protection, why couldn't they give me three days to pay it. I don't even pay my bills late but if I did they understand and give time. I go to my bank on July 17 to deposit cash I had received from selling my car. I had a total of $6100.00 which were meant to get deposited. The machine only takes 40 bills at a time so I split my cash in half because all my bills were 100 dollar bills. So I make my first deposit of $3000.00 That money gets credited because I know that when the screen read if I want to add more cash or if I'm done, that means the money goes through. Next, I push the add more cash option, this time I add $3,100.00. I hear the machine processing the money. I then see just $100.00 coming back to me then the screen reads unable to accept your cash, so I stand there for about two minutes waiting for the rest of my money and with the machine beeping non-stop.

I then see the screen refreshing because it went back to the start menu. It didn't even give me the option to get a receipt. I put my card back and see that the first money I put in was there but the other $3,000.00 neither got credited nor came out. I call the to make a claim. They offer me a temporary credit and decide to take it back because according to them the cash was in my account. How is it that I was in my account if I was left with -$3,000.00?. They have closed my claim and state that I am lying.

I called a few times to get an update and with that learned they needed a declaration page from my homeowner insurance company and wanted to know the reason of increase in my pay (please note - no one called to ask for this). On August 5th, a Rebecca somebody called to say they won't be able to give me the loan because I do not live in the house. Somehow Frank failed to mention this to me! I was told there will be a 1% chance of them giving me the loan. That evening I emailed Brian Moynihan, CEO of Bank of America asking for his assistance.

I received a call from Lesley ** the next day and she gave me some kind of hope that I will get the loan. Today, August 10th, they informed me they will not be moving forward with the application and that I have 2 late payments on my credit report... They ran my credit on July 22nd and when we spoke last week they didn't mention the late payment.

Let me just say I have a credit score of 730. Last week the reason was because I didn't live in the house, now today it's because of the late payment. Let me also add that this house is a fixer-upper so I need the funds to renovate. I told the loan officer that back in May. Why wasn't I told this back in July or even May so that I can search for other means to get what I need? My lease ends August 31, this leave me very little room to work with. I feel discriminated against, and feel they do not have good reasons to deny me. What is even worse is, I reached out to the CEO and he didn't care to help either.

I had a bad flood in my home, with major damage. Insurance didn't cover everything, so I went to Bank of America for a home equity loan. I've been a customer for 35 years, with a perfect payment record. They hold my mortgage. They turned me down flat because they were insisting that I borrow more than double the amount I needed, and then said I couldn't qualify for that amount because my equity/debt ratio was off by less than 1%. Later, when I went to deposit the insurance check, the bank refused it, saying I had to send it to their corporate offices along with over 100 pages of paperwork. I did that, and they lost it! They say that if it is found, it will still be several weeks before I could receive payment, and that would be in the form of a check made co-payable to me and to a contractor.

Any contractors I use must file paperwork with Bank of America or they can't be paid by the insurance funds. The people behind the desks at my local branch knew nothing of this process, and gave me completely wrong information. And, of course, the contractors that have been rebuilding my house expect to be paid now. I can't believe that after being a good customer for more than three decades their loan department would treat me so badly. And the incompetence of their staff is staggering. Even trying to communicate with them is a major challenge. Today I had to call four times because they kept hanging up on me after putting me on hold. It took over an hour just to find out they lost my paperwork.

I question how BoA processes their credits (deposits) and debits (charges) in a timely fashion. I have found that money is moving in different directions. They process to their advantage to create overdraft fees. Very unfair situation as when you question them they start up selling products for more fees. "If you would have paid $10.00 to cover your checking with your savings, you have only incurred a $10.00 fee to transfer money to cover your overdraft." So $20.00 dollars instead of $35.00. Gee, thanks for the savings.

I checked at 4:00 am again, still not posted. Exhausted now I fell asleep.

I checked it again at 7:00 am to see that this important, life-changing check had now posted and dated for the 5th of August. This is a lie. Of course BOA charged me the $35 overdraft. Another transaction posted and destroyed the ability for my important check to post! OMG I ran off to the bank to deposit more $ to cover this very important check. BOA is not open for its business day! The business in which the check was written to has no knowledge of NSF as of yet, BOA insists the check posted yesterday, which I know is not true. I went to the bank before it opened to deposit more $ to cover this important check.

I cannot understand how BOA can insist that a transaction happened on a prior business day when it did not. Business days end at midnight correct? It is futile and frustrating to deal with this bank. Its customer service is deplorable, rude and uninformed. If you speak to 3 different reps you will get 3 different answers. Woman went on and on as to just how much they offer their customers with awards while using their card. My credit union charges a "flat" 6.90 APR on all transactions and she said they couldn't match that at all. Needless to say, I am canceling Bank of America's account. A nickel-and-dime-charging bank. Before taking my long vacation I decided to pay my rent. I presented my check to the property owners with instructions they cash it when it was due. Instead, they cashed it way before the date on the check. After realizing this I called Bank of America to straighten things out. My call was received by a very firm agent who informed me that the checks are always cashed when presented, the date didn't matter much and the law allows banks to do so. Around the same time I had scheduled a credit card payment that made me incur an overdraft fee $35 following which my credit card payment was rejected and returned and the $35 charge replaced with a payment declining charge of $35.

Being on vacation I stayed off the grid so I did not realize how bad things were getting. So for a week or so Bank of America charged me three $35 charges, a total of $105 not to pay for my insufficient funds but just to decline follow up payments attempts by the credit card company, at the same time a credit card late fee of $35 following. Then I called the bank's toll free number and also my branch and they both informed me it's standard for them to make those charges and it was not possible for them to bulge at all. I have been with the bank for 7 years and I was doing good on till I had an ailment in the family and things went south. This bank lacks a human touch and as you can see from other people's reviews, it is for the wealthy and perfect people who will never make a human error and if they ever get a chance to rip you off they'll use it heinously.

If you are going through a similar situation be brave to walk away. Banks know you won't coz you are tied to them coz of payments and payroll arrangements. It only takes a couple of hours to change this. You work hard for your money, don't let them take it without breaking a sweat. This is why they make billions and pay millions on bonuses to senior employees and shareholders. Ripping of the poor and giving to the rich. I am going to downgrade to credit union that is in touch with reality and treats account holders as clients not a jackpot ticket. I will close my account as soon as my vacation is over. I am more worried about someone making me homeless than the hassle of opening a new account.

I called them, and told them that I do not appreciate that they sent me a RFID chip debit card WITHOUT communicating with me. I demanded a new non-RFID chip debit card to be sent to me. They said all debit cards now have RFID chips, so today I went to a new bank and asked them about RFID chip and they said they won't do this - so I opened a new account. Then I went back to BOA to close my accounts. TOO bad they lost a 5 years' customer. They even tried to convince me that RFID chip is safer. FACT: RFID chip DOES not make it safer. People have NFC scanner, they can steal people's debit card information. I am not buying an aluminum wallet for it. If BOA wants to give RFID chips then they MUST provide aluminum wallets.

BE WARNED - Bank of America has a new system to make money, if a VISA customer isn't paying close attention. In March, there was fraudulent activity on my VISA card (no fault of mine... probably related to the Home Depot cyber break in). The fraudulent charges were promptly reversed. NOW, any time I return merchandise to any Home Depot and get a credit to my VISA card, Bank of America later reverses it, claiming that they assumed the merchant is giving me a credit for the March fraud event.

It takes up to an hour arguing with their fraud department to convince them that this happens, and they act like they've never heard of such a thing. (But their supervisor admitted that this is a known problem). They eventually reverse the bogus charge, but last time instead of reversing it they CHARGED ME AGAIN.

If you think it was hard for them to admit they had charged in error, imagine how hard it was to convince them they charged me TWICE when I complained the first time!

In the end, they promised it would be corrected. We'll see. That's what they said before they DOUBLE charged me. This occurred in June, and again in July whenever I have a return at Home Depot. (Of course, they say they have no way to compensate their customers for the hours wasted on the phone, and stress.)

And I was told I will have to wait 24 to 48 hours for a manager to return my call. I have no doubt that their computer system communicates that it was a merchandise return, not a courtesy credit, so their practice of assuming it was a fraud adjustment is a convenient way for them to make money. (This is my first online complaint I have ever posted.)

I had the great misfortune of dealing with BOA for an auto loan beginning in 2012. Setting up my direct withdrawal was a complete disaster. It took 5 months, 5 void checks and 2 visits to branch offices before it was set up correctly. It was set up for withdrawal on the 25th of each month. One particular month it was drafted on the 24th. I called and they explained if the 25th was a Saturday or holiday it may be drafted 24 hours early sooo I changed auto draft to the 26th to ensure no future possible overdrafts to my account. Most recently I refinanced that loan through my credit union. I had called and received my current payout amount from BOA.

My credit union processed the check while I sat in the branch office on the 14th of the month. 11 days prior to scheduled autodraft. Yet somehow BOA processed the payout check and also autodrafted the same day the 27th. When I called to have those funds reimbursed. It took 2 calls, 2 customer service reps, and 2 "supervisors" over an hour and 4 different explanations & excuses saying it could possibly take weeks to close my account and/or prove an overpayment was received and not disputed before they would print check and send via regular mail. One of the supervisor actually suggested I use a credit card until my money was reimbursed and then pay it off with my refund check. Not a satisfied customer.

Bank of America has a new way to handle their home insurance check cashing policy. As of July 3rd 2015 you need to sign the check and MAIL it to California to be stamped and then they mail it back to you (big chance of it being lost or stolen) and then if you get it back you can deposit it into an account but if it is over $10,000 they put an additional hold on it. So it will be at least 10 to 12 days before the money is available to make repairs. In our case the sewer pipe backed up into our basement and it needs to be replaced out in the street. So we have to wait all this time and hope we get the check back until we can get repairs done and the cleanup done. Sounds ridiculous to me in this day and age of technology. BOA has imaging machines for checks that are immediately available. So why do insurance checks not follow the same guidelines? I am beyond mad. They shouldn't have a right to do this.

I closed my account with Bank of America last February, after 25 years holding an account. I never got a "sorry to lose you" or an apology for their constant inability to keep my online bank account safe from hackers. Today July 17th I got another e-mail saying that someone want to authorize access to my online account and account that should have been close. After waiting for 20 minutes on the phone a lady wanted me to be transferred over - I told her no way. I think find out the bank did not close my account properly and they still had all of contact details on file. I then asked to remove all of this. Another 20 minutes to do this. My time is as valuable as theirs except they are getting paid to be there. Please if you have an account and you close make sure they remove all contact information for you as well. I also I made sure I was not liable for anything done on this account.

I have a joint acct with my husband in BOA. And also, I personally have a checking acct! This morning, I personally went to the Branch at Springfield Mall to request a cashier check for my property settlement in the title company. Before I went to BOA, I had already went to TD bank and got a $60K cashier check with no any problem. Done it in 5 mins. Love TD! In BOA, I present my Driver License, my SSN, the amount that I need! At first, I asked: if you charge cashier check? Answer: "oh, no, you are a prefer customer, no charge on you!" sounds great! However, then after 1 mins, change her mind: "oh, sorry, we need to charge 10 dollar, because you do not have an account with checking with interest! So even you are a prefer customer, we still need to charge you!" Okay! I and my husband use BOA more than 10 years, and both have our salary directly deposit to the account for more than 5 years.

I have credit card with them more than 10 years! It's okay! 10 dollar is fine! Then what? Then, after 2 mins, back to me! "I am sorry! Your signature did not match what we have!" I am surprised! I wrote checks all the time with no problem! The manager come over, hand me back the Driver License, told me that I cannot do a cashier check because not only my signature not match with their record, but also not even my address, not even my birthday! His attitude just looks like I am a person try to withdraw someone else's money!!! I was sooo surprising! That's impossible! I received my bank statement every month on time, and deal with my mortgage all the time about providing bank statements for past month!

When I with this question, the manager hand the paper towel to me and point the date of birthday on the paper said: "look!" Yes! That's not my Birthday! But it also bring my attention that was not my name!!! That's not my account!!! They open the wrong acct and told me that did not allowed me to have a cashier check!!! Then he just said: "oh? Sorry!" That it!!! However, when they looking for my account in their system, he said he need to verify that's me! I am about to said, "Did your mom forgot to told you bring your eyes to work today? My driver license on your hand! I am personally stand in front of you!!! You want to verify!!!" And also asked me the amount of the last deposited! Finally, approved but then what? Then he said: "next time you better bring your husband together to ask for a cashier check!!!"

Okay! That's all my fault!! That's all my fault to let you made the mistake!!! That's not my first time to asked a cashier check from BOA from this joint account! First time that I hear that I need to bring my husband! I was love BOA! Because they gave me the first credit card in my life! Before this even, I thought I am going to with BOA forever!

On July 16, 2015, at closing time, I cashed a check in the amount of five thousand dollars at the St. Paul Street location in Baltimore, MD. I immediately proceeded to a Wells Fargo ATM machine, University of Baltimore location, to deposit the cash I received from BOA. Said ATM accepted $4,850 dollars but did not accept three, fifty dollar bills. Knowing that the BOA branch where the check was cashed and money received was now closed, I proceeded home to call a toll free number for BOA. I was told to return to beach the following day. I called first thing this morning and was told by the branch manager there was nothing BOA could do for me, that once I left the branch things were out of their hands. Was I suppose to have a machine to detect counterfeit bills? The manager went on and on about the processes in place to detect counterfeit bills. Well, either the process is not foolproof or the teller is a criminal.

I went into a local Bank of America to make two deposits. One for a friend. The other for myself. I filled out my friend's deposit information and made the transaction. No problem. Went to make my own, but I had thought it could be done solely with my debit card. "No", she says. I need a deposit slip too, but she can get my number for me. I fill it all out, swipe my card, and the teller writes the account number down on the deposit slip I filled out with my name and address. I looked at the deposit slips and see that she deposited my money into my friend's account. I'm not panicking. After all, it's teller error.

I'd swiped my card, filled out my info... Seems pretty cut and dry. Nope. They say they can't take money from a person's account. I'll have to contact my friend and ask her to transfer the money back. Only I can't get in touch with her. "Sorry", they tell me. Nothing they can do. Even go as far as to say that normally such a transfer would cost 25.00, but they suppose they can waive it in this case. I mention all the information which, to me, support my assertion - name, address, separate transaction, debit card swipe. None of it counts for a hill of beans. Because it went into an account that I had made a deposit into, it's impossible to classify it as an error.

What makes it so bad is this. First, time was not of the essence. I could have noticed the account error seconds after the teller made the deposit, and it wouldn't have mattered. Second, they would not look into the matter in any capacity... either to verify the events or even to identify the employee who made the error to address the situation and ensure extra caution is taken. It is simply more expedient for me to have to clean up their mess for them.

I opened a business account with BOA in 2008 & they decided to close my account with 35k in it because I was given a bad check. Instead of punishing the client who gave me a bad check, they froze my account for 2 MONTHS! And kept my 35k hostage for those 2 months! They closed my account and released the funds. I ended up going to CHASE & I absolutely love them.

Currently, 07/2015, I'm also doing an international business & was told from my India clientele that BOA would be easier for them to make transactions. So I gave BOA the benefit of the doubt and opened a new business account (different company) & they did. Now as soon as I got a first wire transfer (within 5 business days of opening it), they closed my account & now keeping the money in my account hostage AGAIN! When I called BOA, they said they decided to close my account for no apparent reason & that they don't have to give me an explanation. Ridiculous bank. I will NEVER even consider to bank with them again. I already have several friends and family that I made sure they closed their accounts and now they also started banking with Chase. I have never written a negative review about anyone but BOA deserves to be shut down asap!

I would really imagine that a Consumer watchdog group could launch a class action against this; if the cycle closes on July 12th, my statement should be posted right away and available to me. My re-fi is on hold until they get my official bank statement. Were it to be mailed, it would have to be postmarked and arrive before the 15th. Normally, statements are showing up on the 12th, 13th, or at worst, 14th, except for 2 times this past year. Why?

I switched from Chase to Bank of America four years ago solely because my University did not have a Chase in close proximity and I deeply regret it. I would have saved more money paying withdrawal fees from Chase. Bank of America's customer service is unprofessional. I understand they may work in a fast paced and stressful environment but that should not be reflected when speaking to customers. Bank of America has robbed hundreds of dollars from me in the past four years and most recently I was overdrafted for a few cents and charged TWO overdraft fees. I spoke to management and 3 other representatives in regards to this and they were rude and unhelpful.

They have no sympathy for working college students and don't consider the fact that they will lose customers when graduated college students are out in the workforce. Once my overdraft fee is paid for I am closing my account with bank of america permanently and will do everything in my power to save others from the nightmare that could ensue them. I graduate next month and look forward to banking with Chase again. Lastly, they take days to update your balance and when you're a busy college student, it is easy to lose track of your spending, especially if you're making minimum wage which usually results in overdraft fees in the first place.

First of all, my complaint is not the online service. But I have no other title more appropriate that indicate in the mail. My first language is not English. So I apologize for my English handwriting. I would like to say that today I felt outraged when I was served by the customer service. Since I opened my bank account I have not stopped to have drawbacks. I come from Cuba, I'm Hispanic. I received about 4 cards in less than two years to verify my status in the United States. All information that required me on the bank I have sent. And yet today, I received another letter in which they ask for more information. When I call to customer service, I waited 30 minutes on hold and the call finally fell.

After calling back, the person who answered almost called me idiot. She tried to give me an absurd explanation about the roles that I'm still getting. I would like to say I am a legal person in this country. My father is a US citizen, his entire family has lived here ever since. Sometimes I feel that being Hispanic discriminate me and today I felt humiliated. Never anyone in my family had requested verify such information. My husband and friends are Cubans like me, none of them has received many letters of verification. I'm feeling you are violating my privacy. I came to live in a free and democratic country, I felt that I was not treated me fairly. I have other bank accounts and no other bank has asked me much information.

The person who checked me on the phone today humbled me, she treated me like I was uneducated. She put me on hold and while I talked to my husband interrupted my conversation and begins to argue with me. Her information and her explanation did not resolve my doubts. But they increased my fears to feel I'm being insulted. I had never been heard in worst way before in my life. That was the worst customer service I've had in two years that I live in America. I asked for another phone number so I could call and file a complaint and she deceived me. She gave me the phone number of another department.

The young man who answered my call in that department was more cordial. He explained to me that I did not have any problems in my account. He did not take note of my complaint. He just told me that I had no problems. All this leaves me more doubts now. Why I received a letter requesting more information? The departments of Bank of America do not share information? Why question me in a department and request information while another tells me that everything is fine? Why not take note of complaints from a customer to whom provided with a dreadful service? Bank of America today really disappoint me. I have lost the confidence in this institution.

Although my branch people are fine now after a reorg of the former manager a couple of years ago, the phone lines any time you call about banking or personal credit. (Note I do not have a business credit card with BOFA, only atm to access my own funds as required since to get a free economy checking account you must use your debit card monthly (as a credit card not withdraw cash but shop! With $250 per statement. They want you to remove money and spend it. Maybe it helps their bottom line reporting, it makes no sense to me!)

All other credit card companies for business staff enough to answer calls. I received 3 calls while at nordstrom asking for my telephone pin. I don't have one! It turns out this am when I was on hold for 45 mins that I called the personal line which was the number that called me so I had to call 888-287-4657. Rather than call and gather personal info I had to use my personal nordstrom card to make what was a business gift purchase for a valued customer.

This is not the only time I have been on hold for 1/2 to an hour on BofA banking line. Then they bombard you with ads about using the website. Yes when you write through the website on personal account or business they do not reply and tell you to call! So at least for small business and personal accounts they tie up your Monday morning because on Sunday they have no support at all so they just block transactions and you cannot call unless you have a personal phone pin which I have never heard and frankly I try NEVER to call. I don't have time to waste because they are too cheap to staff with csrs - they are not in the USA either so I am sure it does not cost too much.

Each time you call they claim it is unusual call volume. Does not matter the day of the week. I end up very frustrated at the bad treatment on the phone line. Yes I could go to the branch and wait in line but it is their error not mine. Then they end the automated call that I got while I was on hold that they will "Continue to protect me from fraud" when it was not fraud! If you are going to block use of a card on Sunday at least give us a number to call to unblock. They text me and I said this was not fraud but they still blocked it. They asked if I authorized a transaction on Sunday if so answer YES and I did and they still blocked it!

I called the debit card department to find out what my daily limit was and found it would be fine if I withdrew the amount I needed over 2 days. On the first day, my account was instantaneously put on alert fraud so I called the customer service number and they lifted the alert after validating my identity over the phone. I explained to the lady on the phone the movers situation and she said "no worries! As long as you wait until tomorrow to withdraw the rest of what you need you will be fine". So in the morning I went to an ATM to get the rest of my move money.

An alert was placed on my account AGAIN but this time they refused to identify me over the phone and demanded I go in person to a banking center that following Monday!!! What was I supposed to do??! Movers were an hour away, Bank of America had blocked my card to ALL transactions and despite talking to 3 different department supervisors I STILL was not allowed to take my OWN money out of my account. The movers ended up charging us for an extra day ($700), I had to take time off of work to reactivate my account and I am fighting BoA so they pay that extra movers bill. Even the Customer Service Manager had no way to contact them directly. So she advised me she could not help me. Customer service would log my concerns but would not continue to follow with the branch. She advised me to try and call them tomorrow and "maybe" they may be able to answer, write a complaint to the main customer services, or start the process over and resubmit the documents. Customer service took no responsibility for following on a complaint even though the cause of the problem was a series of misinformation and missteps by BOA. There was also no complaint escalation process which most large customer-focused companies have. BOA has no respect for their customers.

For example, a couple days after one IRA matured and we wanted to move the money to a better bank, the BOA rep confidently told my husband he had to list it as "Premature withdrawal" in order to give us a cashier's check. So, he was trying to make it inconvenient so that my busy husband would just let it renew and stay at BOA. We wanted to get it out of BOA and the rep said well it will be listed as a Premature withdrawal and we'll just have to send new paperwork to the IRS proving the cashier's check was deposited into another IRA. With my IRA's they made mistakes too. For example, 3 attempts to change my address since we moved several years ago and they never updated the address. So I never got my IRA renewal notices, causing the IRAs to automatically renew. I wish I had decided sooner that their mistakes and possibly deceitful behavior was not worth the fact their branches were convenient.

Silliness. I continued to play phone tag with representatives responding to this complaint.

I just looked over my statement from my current account through Wells Fargo this morning taking care of unrelated business and to my astonishment there are three separate deposits from BofA, they equal a bit more than the original $480, and I have no idea who/how they just plopped into my personal account? I was not informed it went there, and did not authorize anything. I had no clue banks could do that! Just access accounts willy-nilly!

But I suppose now I am finished with my informally worded public display of befuddlement, and will say this has been resolved. They've put money in my hand, I'll be quiet now.

    Weird.

Bank of America took my money and won't give it back. The BofA mobile app was highly recommended to me so I used it to schedule payments to my credit card. The app then began overpaying on that accounted so I tried multiple times to cancel the payments with no success. I asked many representatives in the bank and over the phone to help -- it still overpaid by 480$. I then closed that card expecting to receive a refund -- nope. I have since closed that entire account and no longer use BofA and I still cannot get my money back.

I have called and called and they have tossed me around like a beach ball. BofA to FIA card services to state of Georgia abandoned property (I've never lived in Georgia!) back to BofA credit to collections to authorizations to customer service to several phone lines that don't even exist and just hang up! Each time they tell me different amounts. It has been three years now! They took my $480 and won't give it back. I am a Wells Fargo customer now.

Do not choose Bank of America for your small business services. They are crooks. There is no other way to describe them. I am constantly being charged hidden fees. And just today I realized they took 70$ of my hard earned money without so much as itemizing it. Instead they deposited 30$ of an 100$ transaction. Where did that 70$ go? Not only did they not clearly mark that they were deducting 70$ from my account but then they can not explain to me why they did so. They gave me some BS answer that made ZERO sense for my account and transferred me to a department that wasn't even operating. 70$ will not make or break my business but it's the principle of the matter. They dip your hands in your money and grab. Good luck balancing your income processed through your credit card device with in your account because it will never be correct.

I'm in shock of how they have literally STOLEN my income from me at every turn and bend of my new experience as a small business owner. It makes me sick. And now I will have to pay close to 500$ to cut my ties with these crooks. Did they mention one time that there was an early cancellation fee? Of course not. It's not a flat 1.7% they charge on credit card transactions. There are tons of hidden fees and I was charged upwards of 3.5% on my credit card transactions. Dealing with representatives on the phone is a nightmare. I am wholeheartedly remorseful that I chose Bank of America for my small business. They messed up my paperwork for over a year trying to refinance under the making home affordable act. The underwriters were unable to secure the loan in the 90 day period allowed several times. They then foreclosed on me and sold the house to themselves in auction. They then sold the mortgage to the house they auctioned to themselves to Carrington Mortgage so somehow I owe a mortgage on a home I can't live in and belongs to Bank of America. If we had not started the refinancing we would be still living there today because they did not apply any of the payments made during the refinancing process to the mortgage. So effectively we were 21 months behind even though we didn't miss a single payment.

I discovered my debit card had been inactivated when my card was declined while attempting to check out at the grocery store. I called the customer service number and verified my identity and asked them to please reactivate my card. The man on the phone said, "Please wait, we need to go through your transactions." I told him I had to go so I could check out (used my credit card instead..).

When I called back the new agent could not verify my identity. He asked me the cross street of my previous address (which was over 6 years ago... I could not remember it!) and asked me what was the name of my pet who I recently insured. I don't have any pets!! He then said he could not talk to me and I would have to go into a branch with my ID. The nearest branch is over 100 miles away (I live in a very rural area). They refused to help me.

So I am locked out of my account. The agents were very very rude on the phone. The bank never called me when they deactivated my account for "fraud protection." I was able to log into my online statement and verify all transactions, and there was nothing suspicious. This fraud protection is mandatory and you cannot opt out of it.

Also they asked me information about my driver's license for an address I changed over 6 years ago with them. I have had a new driver's license since then! They never update their information! No, I have to go out of my way to fix this situation that they created against my own will. If my own bank cannot successfully verify my identity, that is a serious concern - it indicates poor record keeping and lack of proper protocols.

We've already signed over 50 pages of documents and paid almost $500 for a home appraisal and it seems like we're never going to get the refinance. Very frustrating experience.

I was a customer of BofA since I open my first checking account back in 1996. Since then it was known that Bank of America don't care much about private accounts since it was dealing with huge corporate accounts. Still, I really enjoyed this bank mostly because of online banking. I used BofA online software since 1997. I got all my cars and my mortgage through this bank. It was always small problems during those 25 years but they were all resolved with 1 call.

Problems started 4 years ago, when economy went down and this bank start drowning. First, they sold my mortgage to some even worst bank (green tree). Because of this illegal sale BofA paid one of the biggest lawsuits in history. This lawsuit fee was settle for $17 billion and that when even small private accounts start suffering. Since then, BofA added any possible fee that you can imagine. First if you run into the overdraft, they will sort all your checks by amount not by date, this means first check will be on highest amount, because of that they will have much more overdraft fees. Second, even more annoying, for 20 years I schedule payments using online BofA but in past 4 years from time to time BofA withdraw scheduled check 1 day before it's scheduled. For example I schedule all bills on 1st but BofA withdraw one check on 30th and charge me overdraft fee if I don't have enough money on account they will charge me $35 fee.

I called a bank and after a 1 hr on the phone, BofA manager didn't want to return fee to my account and explanation is that check can be posted on account any time, not just when its scheduled. Finally, when I talk with manager and any representative regarding this issue they always have attitude like "why you don't have money on account?" They WILL TRY to embarrass you, but if this happen to you it's nothing wrong what you did. BofA only wants to take any dollar from you. If you are planning to open new account, don't go with BofA. Hope this helps.

Also, two days ago I paid a bill - that too was debited yesterday. All good, nothing was in the negative - they were completed transactions. Today, I receive a notification on my email stating that my account was insufficient. I login and look to see what it is. Apparently there was a charge from Nintendo (my son's DS game). I get it - I see what the charge is - but here's my issue - why not deem that my account does not have enough funds to pay this charge from Nintendo and be done? Why now charge me the 35 dollars in NSF fees, tell me that BOA paid the bill as a courtesy to me and now say that my account is insufficient to pay the online purchase made two days ago?

Because, now I am sure I will see another NSF fee for the online purchase as well. Inherently something is very wrong with this picture. This makes absolutely no sense to me other than the fact that BOA is clearly doing this or setting up their computers to react this way just so they can charge me the NSF fee... I am finding a credit union today to switch to as these practices are surely against the consumer.

About 6 months ago I called in needing assistance adjusting some of my online settings (very basic). I used the "Preferred Platinum Rewards Team" phone number provided to me by the bank. The customer service agent did not have the knowledge to help me nor the basic customer service skills necessary for his position. He was very rude and hung up the phone on me. I immediately noticed I could not access my online bank account portal via web or mobile app. I called back in to B of A and a new customer service agent informed me that he had, for some unknown reason, closed my online account. The new agent re-opened my account but informed me that I'd have to go through and re-setup all my settings and preferences.

I experienced countless issues, the worst of which being that all of my accounts were re-instated as "view-only" - leaving me with no access to withdraw, transfer, or deposit money, and that my bill pay was disabled - none of my auto-monthly bills went out for four months while I was abroad. I've spent hours and hours on the phone with Bank of America customer service elevation managers all promising to fix this error and provide documentation explaining the situation that I could provide to my creditors in attempt to remove the credit markers submitted to the Credit Bureau for overdue payments.

Each time I call in I am promised a letter from Bank of America stating that my bank account was closed in error by their team, and therefore my bill pay was shut off during these months. Each time I give the bank two weeks to send this letter, as promised, only to find out that they've dropped the request, and will not be sending said letter. They never call to explain the situation, or provide alternative solutions, they just drop the claim with no explanation whatsoever. Each time I call in and a new manager (because you can never speak with the same person twice, even if you document their name and location) promises to send the letter immediately and will expedite the claim. Each time I call back in to discover they have dropped the request.

I do not recommend Bank of America to anyone. I have banked with this company for 10 years. I've given them the benefit of the doubt and opportunity to right their wrong. The customer service representatives and managers will infinitely hand you off to someone new leaving them with zero accountability for their mistakes.

Last week, I called the cust. service phone number on the back of one of my Bank of America credit cards to request for my late fee to be waived because there was a death in my family realizing that I may have forgotten to make a pmt. on time. In actuality, I verified that there was a payment posted to my account but it may have been for a lesser amount than what was due. After speaking with a couple of customer service reps located in Philippines, who knew English words but did not speak any coherent English, the late fee was still not waived. I was told by the 1st rep that the bank waives one late fee per year (as is customary for most credit card issuers), but that my fee was not eligible to be waived. She agreed that it was my very first late fee since I had opened the card, but could not say why she could not waive it.

I insisted on speaking with a supervisor, so she consulted with one and returned to tell me that she would waive my fee. A couple of days later, I called back to see if she actually waived it, and of course she had not - and the person I spoke with on this occasion spoke utter nonsense, something about how my fee is 'not eligible to be converted' and that he would escalate the matter. I refused to waste any more time and asked for a call center that is located in the United States. When I called that number, the customer service rep. immediately agreed to waive my late fee, but she kept asking for the name of the person who died. I made it clear that it was none of her business and told her that he did not have any BOA accounts. She kept saying that it is bank policy to inquire about names of anyone who is reported as deceased.

Somehow, she failed to understand was that I had not called to report a deceased card holder, only to get my own late fee waived. It is unfortunate that some people are so incapable of rational thought that they go strictly by the script they are given without questioning whether their actions are appropriate to the situation. Apparently, this genius rep. had decided to mark MY account as DECEASED and CANCELLED both my BOA credit cards, saying nothing to me. If I had not called back to verify that my late fee was waived, the credit reporting agencies would have been informed that I am now deceased. It would have made a mess of my credit rating, not to mention my other credit cards and bank accounts would have been closed and it would have created a huge mess for me to fix.

How does a bank hire someone with less sense than God gave a goat to do this with a customer's account??? And they did not even have my correct Driver's License number on file!!! This is inexcusable. They transferred me around three times without my permission until finally someone from their fraud department got on the phone. This person asked me numerous questions to verify my identity, but they had my old PA driver's license number on file, even though I used my FL license to apply for both of my BOA credit cards. She asked me for a specific payment amount and date it was made, but I was not able to log into my account at that point - seriously, who remembers something like that down to the penny after a week or two have passed?

Finally, after she was satisfied that I was indeed still alive, she promised to reverse this 'error' and reinstate both my accounts. Today I called customer service again to verify that this was done, and of course it was not. After the infuriating experience I had with Bank of America, I am now afraid that they will file a report with the consumer reporting agencies about my apparent death and really create a mess with my credit. I also believe they owe me compensation for wasting my time with their negligent behaviour. It can't be this easy for an unscrupulous-or incompetent customer service person to make a mess of a customer's account and potentially create serious problems for someone.

We'd received a check in the mail early Saturday morning. The check was made out to my girlfriend who does not have an account with Bank of America. My mother, whom we took with us, did have an active account. Also, the check was written from a well known business, Trident Technical College. We drove about 15 miles with little gas in the car to cash the check at the nearest "open till 1:00 on Saturday" branch office, as we were unable to connect with a representative of the branch location on the telephone, due to "high volume of calls."

We had attempted to place the call to avoid any unforeseen policy issues regarding the cashing of checks (which unfortunately changes from day to day, and bank to bank). However, we decided to drive to the bank anyway, being that is a highly reputable bank, and in a very busy part of Charleston county, (James Island). Upon attempting to cash the check, the teller refused cashing the check, (amount 4,780.00) which would be understandable. On the part of the employee being too busy, or incompetent, that much would have been tolerated, if not reluctantly tolerated, but the employee then began giving reasons as to why this check was not cashable.

None of which included the true reason: that the employee reserves the right to not cash a check based on availability of cash. Instead, we were made to feel like criminals, and deminialized, held captive even by a person attempting to do her job, with a serious lack of communication skills. After we'd calmly accepted the facts and truth, we left the branch, and headed for the one on Sam Rittenburg Blvd. Thank god for these representatives, because they cashed the check quickly, and courteously, without batting a brow. We often get payroll checks and refund checks written off of Bank of America business accounts. We have always had a negative experience with the James Island branch, but always had a very positive experience with the Sam Rittenburg blvd location.

Updated on 6/11/2015 - The status of my original review is "Resolution In Progress" and I'm asked to private message someone named **? I don't know how to do that without any further information. I would also like to mention that a teller told on on 6/8/15 that the bank is going to go to more machines inside and less tellers, so maybe that's why there are less tellers? Just a guess, not fact.

Was told wrong information from the manager name ** in Kannapolis Nc on Spider Drive. He was very rude to me. He told me I was no longer able to go through the drive thru and that I can only do my banking with him only. He could not give me an explanation why I could not go to the drive thru and he could not give me an explanation of why I had to see him only. He also threatened to shut my account down, and was very rude with me and very unprofessional. I have been with Bank of America for 2 to 3 years. I have a business account and I was depositing checks into my business account with my husband's name on it. Never had a problem until I ran into this gentleman at this bank today. ** the bank manager, he was calling me Mrs Smith and I'm not Mrs Smith.

I've been with Bank of America 7 year now. They are the worst bank ever. They owe me 468.00. Won't pay me back dispute of two transactions. The first one was back in 2009. My mom had just passed away. I had 15.00 bucks in my acct. I had ordered some magazines that was 9.99 for 3 months. The magazine company said I had 30 days to cancel it. The next day I called to cancel my order. No problem. The actual magazine company said I owe 286.00 for one year subscription. I told them I just ordered it yesterday, I had 30 days to cancel so I called boa and they "OK. No money has been taken out, I'll leave a note in your acct make sure they don't take no money out."

Next thing I know I'm overdrawn 525.00 dollars so I called the bank. "Oh you didn't have enough funds for a magazine sub." I'm like "the girl told me they would put a stop hold on it." "No ma'am, nothing on here that says anything. You owe 525.00." I'm like "ummm no, I Not paying it." This went on for a year then this year we moved to sc, stayed at a hotel, got bedbugs. The hotel said they would reimburse me for 3 nights which they didn't so then I called boa, put in another dispute. This went on for months, still haven't gotten my money, turned everything in that they needed, even let them hear the recording of my conversation with the hotel manager. He even said he would reimburse me but boa did nothing. Now I owe them 267.00 back which I'm not paying. They're the worse bank ever.

I notice some extra fees on my mortgage billing statements. Called Bank of America to verify what it was. They said these fees were "Inspections to verify whether I am still living at home." We have been living at the same home for well over 20 years and now Bank of America is charging me extra fees to "Verify whether I am still living at home." This is not right!

Two days ago I was sued by them for a house I don't own. You read that correctly. Somehow, their own attorney gave me a 50% stake in a property instead of just rights of survivorship. SO they were suing me for 50% of the value of a home I don't own. I did not know this. They started sending offers for $300 gift cards to get me to sign some random documents. When I would call and ask what they were, they told me they couldn't tell me because it wasn't my loan. Then they would tell me that if I didn't sign, they would "come after me." They did. They filed suit two days ago and I was served by our sheriff's department.

I had no idea what was happening. I tore into them and today they sent their law clerk and a notary to meet me to dismiss the suit. All they needed was for me to sign a quitclaim deed but they sued me instead. I was not happy that they dismissed it without prejudice but I dare them to ever contact me again. I have reported it to the feds and I hope they are fined for their actions.

I deposited a check for $1300 through the ATM, it was endorsed to myself and my mother. We both signed the check. It cleared and 15 days later they withdrew the funds stating my money was not in the account! But the funds were taken from the bank that initiated the check! Now BOA says they don't know where the money is. One of the managers actually said it's "in limbo somewhere" really? I want my money. These people are crooks. Please don't bank with them or you will regret it!

I believe I've been defrauded by Bank of America workers. There were many transactions posted on my debit card and put my account to negative. When I called to resolve the issue (the person was acting funny on the phone like he wasn't taking it serious and I have the conversation recorded) after couple of months they rendered a decision not in my favor. When I asked how they came up with that figure they gave me the facts that one of them wasn't true. They said that I was logging in to my account during the fraud activity and therefore I knew that the unauthorized transactions were happening... And this is not true. I wasn't logging in to my account. The technicians can easily enter a thread into a log indicating that I "did login" therefore I can't prove them that the transactions aren't mine!

These were serious transactions like checks that mean somebody did it in person. How come they're not investigating those facts and beating around the bush. If someone else is having this problem please contact me for a class action litigation...

I have been banking with this bank of over 20 yrs. On Thursday, June 4, 2015 went to make a cash deposit, drive thru window closed. Went inside bank over 20 people in line and only two tellers. Went to another Bank of America about 8 miles away same thing drive thru window closed, long lines inside bank. Drove to another bank, waited in line because no carrier was in area to put deposit in, had to ring teller, waited about 6 minutes to receive carrier to put cash deposit in; I was told I would have to sign the back of deposit slip in order to make a cash deposit to my account.

This was the last straw. I closed my acct. and requested a large check and opened an acct with Chase after banking with Bank of America for over 20 yrs. This bank should be closed down. They have an extremely high turn over rate and give very poor service to consumers. Don't be a fool and subject yourself to such poor service. Remember, we as consumers have the power.

Local BOA in Madison, Tennessee has discontinued drive-thru window service and has only one teller working. Took over 30 mins. to make a less than 5 mins. transaction with people line up to entrance door. When I asked about the problem, I was told that was going to be the norm for most Bank Of America banks due to corporate restructuring of branches. Seems they do not want to have to deal with people, so best thing I suggest is do what I am doing and people quit dealing with them and go to a bank that cares about you. They are most definitely not user-friendly.

I went to Bank of America of Watt Ave in Sacramento... My son gets social security and they issued him a card through Bank of America. This bank started this new process, if you do not have a Bank of America card you're put in another line and you have to wait while the members are helped... I waited for 30 mins and the man behind waited almost an hour to be helped. Social security is paying for this service for social security people and I don't think it's fair to make us wait an hour or more to be helped because we do not bank with Bank of America. 10 people came in after me and I was made to wait until they were all helped. I think it is very unfair, and not great customer service. I spoke with ** the center manager and she was rude and unhelpful. Basically she said "Well it's not changing and if you don't want to wait you can become a member, if not too bad." Thanks ** your helpful attitude really made me want to bank with your company. Second of all I deposited me and my wife's tax return at their banks ATM. They would let it go into my acct because it had me and my wife's name on the check and only mine on the acct. So instead of notifying me they decide on their own to mail it which took a week to get back to me. Wtf!!!

Bank of America charged me $105 in overdraft fees and here is why. I linked my Bank of America's account to PayPal in order to transfer some funds I had available for selling a few items on eBay. What I did not know is that PayPal charges your bank account 1 cent three times in order to verify your account and redeposits that money back within 3 business days.

Well, Bank of America charged me 35$ three times for the 3 cents that PayPal charged me. That is over a 100% return for these crooks. I called the Bank and explain to them what happened and their response was, "Sorry your account does not qualify for a refund, is there anything else I can help you with today?" I can’t believe these crooks are actually getting away with this. I call this modern and legal fraud.

I called customer service & the lady literally said it was my fault for not having enough money. I said, "I did have enough money", then she asked if I was financially struggling. I said, "No", then she brings her manager over. She is even ruder. Tells me I failed to check my account. Worst bank ever. I am so mad that they have people like this in their customer service. Bank of America located on Euclid in Anaheim is one of the worse banks ever. If it's not every month it is every other month that they have been charging me overdraft fees. This month of May 30th they charged me 24.00 plus 35.00 fee but because I couldn't get in there 5 days they charged me another 35.00 which added 106.00. I paid out. I never gave Bank of America permission to pay for anything and they should had rejected but instead they paid, turned around, and charged me sometimes 4 times over. The truth is they are robbing people out of their hard-earned money. And now they are charging a maintenance fee of 8.85 per month. They are ripping people off. After 4 years of banking with them I decided it was time to get rid of them so today I closed down my checking account. Do not bank with Bank of America.

One Friday morning (5/26/2015), I went to Bank of America, which is located 2899 E, 1st Ave, Denver, CO 80206. Upon entering to the building, I was greeted by a man. I explained to him my purpose of coming here was to transfer money to account. I don't have an account with them, but I would like to transfer money to friend that has Bank of America account. So he took me ATM machine. I specific asked him if I can get a live person. I pointed at front desk, if I can do it in the front desk. Yes, I asked him, "Is any way I can do it in the front desk?" He said, "No, everything is done here at this ATM machine." So he ignored my request and he started operating the machine.

So a person came up in the screen, starting help. She asked for the person account number, which I punch in, using the keypad. She asked again the person name, which was spelled out for her. After she said, "Everything matched," she then asked how much I want to transfer. I told her, "$1000." So she said me to look at the bottom of my right side. I was instructed to put money to the machine. So I start putting money. I was putting money. That is when all the issue began, in a processing of putting money. I have already put $200. Yes, $200. The person on the screen said she didn't see any money. So the person that greeted came up, and they were talking. After that a paper printed out. He said they were not able to complete this at this time, that I should give the person I'm sending this money to call the claim office 1800 number.

I was, "Is another way you can help, because I don't wanna go through that?" He said, "No," so I requested for the store manager, to explain to me better, because I'm understanding the whole concept, because I still have $800 left. I was so confused. So a white man came to me, introduced himself as the store manager (**). After introducing his name, he handed me a paper, telling me I should call this number, and there's nothing he can do. So he walked away. He ignored me. Yes, I was ignored. He approached the white folks that was coming in and started help them. I was standing there confused. Customer service that I was approached by told me that the person I'm sending the money should call and the supposed store manager (**) told me that I should call. Everything was confusing.

So after standing and ignored, I finally went to a front desk to ask for help. They were able to send the remaining $800. So I told them that my $200 was taken in the machine. I explained everything to them. I showed the paper. So the associate taken the paper, and started calling the one 1800 number. So I asked him, "Why was I send to the machine, if I can send the money here at the front desk, which I initially requested for?" Their explanation wasn't clear. The associate said that I should let the person I'm sending money call. The other person out and whispered to his ears and said if she continued staying here, that they should call a security for her. Yes, I heard it. Everything was recorded and I have my witness there...Someone was there with me.

So the bank manager went in back office and called a black associate to come speak to me. So I don't understand the whole concept. The black clerk was trying to help me, which the bank manager should done at the first place. The black whispered and told me they are calling a security for me. Can someone explained this better? I will let the local news hear this.
