I bought my car in 2012 and paid my loan off in full March of this year. My credit report still reflects that I owe 925.00 with of course no bills or calls because I'm paid in full. And I haven't gotten my title. I want sell my car now and I can't. No I haven't called them yet because their customer service is horrible. I did my part I paid and if I was 1 day late they would blow my phone up. Why can't they do their part close my account correctly and send me my title or a letter I can take to dmv. Never again will I use GM Financial.

My final thoughts would be that GM has been pretty straightforward when it came to the loan process, I knew what I was getting and what I was to pay out monthly. There wasn't much wiggle room when it came to haggling over a price because I knew what the vehicle was worth and what I could actually afford.

I don’t understand what’s the problem this day and age, I can afford the vehicle and our mortgage and now I’m forced to pay a higher interest rate even though I been on my job for 22 years.

I was told, "You should have gotten it.", meaning it was never sent. That call was today and the lady says it's due today. I say, "How am I supposed to pay a bill I've never even seen a break down of?" So, she tells me what it is. Here I am being charged a disposition, which I knew about AND the damage on the pre inspection report THAT WAS ALL FIXED.

I'll never recommend this money grabbing con of a company again unless this gets resolved - but with the horrible customer service like being hung up on, I'm sure they won't do a damn thing. That's the problem with companies get too big for their own good, the customer gets lost. All this after the 2016 Terrain I leased and the dealerships maintenance department were atrocious. They have done nothing but screw me. They charged $15,000 to do a loan and then 8.5 percent more meaning it is about $30,00 paying in interest on the loan. The payments are so high but at the time the vehicle was needed and now I still am paying a high payment of $880 a month. This is ridiculous. We went to everyone about it and no one would do anything. I need a new vehicle and because of this high payment cannot afford one. There is a little over 2 years left on this and hopefully we can make it. I just hope my 2008 Jeep lasts that long.

I've been a loyal customer with GM since April 2015. I've always had my payments on auto-pay, and there was never an issue until April this year (2019) when they decided to CANCEL my auto-pay without authorization or warning. No letter. No e-mail. No phone call. NOTHING. They didn't reach out to me after I "missed" 1 payment. Not a word until I "missed" two payments. They refused to take responsibility for their actions and claimed that they sometimes cancel auto-pay for "security purposes". I filed a formal complaint two months ago and was never contacted or apologized to. My near perfect credit score dropped SIGNIFICANTLY due to their irresponsible actions. Well GM offers something like a $700 credit - but they don't tell you that you must finance through them for at least 6 months at over a 6% interest rate. My husband and I both have excellent credit and could certainly get a loan with a much lower interest rate - and we will do so when the 6 months is up. It is a little deceiving I feel.

They said they cannot tell me what it is for, other than excess wear and tear, which I have no idea what this is. The car was in perfect condition. They cannot even say what it is for. The GM financial rep was rude as well! They never sent a bill. I asked how the heck am I supposed to know I owe anything when you never sent a bill and if I was not signed up for credit report alters, I would have never known this was being charged to me. The GM Financial rep said it is my responsibility to figure out what I owe and how to pay it. That is crap! They are scams. I read all the complaints on this site and I cannot believe GM is allowing this group to run their financial piece. I will NEVER use them again. Shady practices. Poor customer service.

My wife and I leased a Chevy trax in 2017 with a term of 39 months and we've been paying on time. In the beginning we were doing autopay and later we had to cancel it and start making payment manually. The problems started when we saw different amounts owed in our physical bills that they send by mail, and the GM financial internet portal; for example the paper bill will say that we owe $170 and the online billing system will show a different number a $339 though we have no past dues or fees. So we call and ask their the customer service to send us a payment history statement to which they promised doing but they never do. So we end up with no answer as to why these things happen. Also the online platform lacks the total amount we owe on the lease and the interest rate and other crucial information. It only tells you how much you owe for the month and how to pay.

The second type of problems we encountered was for example when we are making extra payments to apply to our excise tax for the year they will instead apply those payment toward the bill even with many requests on the phone to do so, And lastly I open my credit report and find that they raised our outstanding balance by $170 for no reason which damaged our credit. We never missed a payment for this type of things to happen. I'm gonna call them Monday and see if they have an explanation or else I'm reporting these incidents to the CFPB and any corresponding credit bureaus. And to top it off they completely locked the online portal on us so we can't make any more payments online. We have receipts to prove it. Unprofessional business.

We did not hear or receive any information from GM Financial regarding the turn in of Volt turn neither email or US Mail.

In the process of purchasing a vehicle this week a dealership ran my credit and my score went from a 760 to a 515 since April! The Dealer gave me a copy of my Equifax and showed me only one delinquent account that was a GM Financial lease. I called GM Financial immediately to correct the issue and make payment of an over mileage term. The person answering the phone said she couldn't give me any info or allow payment because the account is now in Mitigation.

This outrageous action of GM Financial not contacting me as they had in the past for YEARS has damaged my credit report and consumer purchasing options. The way GM Financial reports the delinquency puts your account in a litigation process which will totally destroy your score across the board for YEARS. Even after you pay it up in full you're screwed.

I took my 2017 Chevy Cruze, which had three months left on its lease, back to the dealership in March to have someone look over the vehicle and answer some questions about the lease-end process. I had no intention of buying a new vehicle, in fact, I was planning to let the lease run out and switch to a different brand - most likely a Subaru. But the salesperson was very convincing and told me I would save a lot of money by sticking with a Chevy. When I asked about wear & tear, he said Chevy offered a $500 rebate to assist with any damage considered excessive and after a visual inspection he said the car was in excellent condition and that there was no way I had damage amounting to more than $500 and would not owe anything on the vehicle. They were running a special and offering several incentives on the Chevy Equinox, so I ended up making a deal that day and left in a new vehicle.

A few weeks later, I went onto my GM Financial account to set up auto payments on my new Equinox, only to find I had a bill for more than $1,000 on my prior lease. I called GM Financial, got the run-around and was told the bill was for excessive wear and tear. I nearly cried. The customer service rep told me that the salesperson, named CJ, at Day Chevrolet in Pittsburgh, PA had lied to me and was not in any way trained to assess the damage and was only trying to get me to buy a new car, saying essentially, I was duped into leasing the Equinox. When I asked GM Financial to please send me a bill for the damage, they told me I had to log onto AutoVinLive and see the report for myself. The website wouldn't let me access the information and GM Financial offered no assistance and refused to send a hard copy to my home.

Several days later I logged back into my account to find the amount owed had dropped to approximately $250. I called again for a bill but received nothing. Three weeks after that, I received a call from GM Financial informing me that I owed $545 dollars on my old lease. Again, no bill or statement of charges was provided and my old lease account is no longer accessible online. The customer service agent stated that she was able to access the inspection report and could see that, among other things, I was being charged $200 for a missing key fob, which I returned to the dealership the day after I had traded in my old car for the Equinox. The representative offered no assistance in helping get to the bottom of the missing key, nor would she provide me with any information about the charges on my account, only advising me to go online and see them for myself.

There is a lot to unwrap here. Not only am I disgusted with the level of customer service provided by GM Financial, but I am also dissatisfied with GM Motor Company, Day Chevrolet, and Autovin (which handles lease-end inspections). I will never, NEVER buy a GM vehicle again and wish I could get out of my current lease. It makes me sick to think I am sending money to a company that treats customers like this. All I asked for was a BILL.

I called many times to request the bill every month in between. The statement they all said was "Your bill will be sent 60 to 90 days after the lease as been returned." On May 17th, GM Financial reported a LATE PAYMENT on my account and sent it to the credit bureaus. My credit score dropped 150+ points. THEY STILL HAVE NOT SENT THE FINAL BILL.

I think this is how they can tack on extra charges at the end and have you pay them off quickly without disputes. Over the phone, they stated there will some charges on top of the lease end fee. I was okay with the lease end fee. But they're charging for "wear and tear" items that should not be charged. They should have it inspected at the time of return with the leasee present. They probably falsify items to drive revenue. I called to have them correct this, but they're dismissive and rude on the phone. I received a bill at the end of my lease, long after I had turned in the car, saying that I owed a $395 disposition fee (I've leased with them before and never had to pay that), and $85 for excess wear and tear. There was no details about what this wear and tear was, but I had taken photos all the way around the car in the parking spot where I left it when I returned it to GM. So, I called them to complain, and the agent I spoke to was dismissive, rude and sarcastic. So I called a second time a few days later and the tune was the same.

"The fee was on your contract, no one HAS to call it out specifically to you when you sign up, it's your job to carefully read the contract." So, they're basically saying, "I understand, you didn't read carefully enough to catch that extra fee we tacked on, so that's your fault, and now we've got you." They deny the fact that I have never had to pay this fee before, which is incorrect.

The excess wear they said was from a 6" scratch on one of my wheels. I offered proof that at the time of drop off there was no 6" long scratch. They said they don't accept photos, because they can't prove that the car in the photo is mine. I asked what evidence they had from their third party inspector. They said it's a photo. I asked how they could tell that THAT person's photo was my car. He said they took a photo of the VIN. I said that I too had taken a photo of the vin, time stamped just minutes away from the photo of the wheel, and that I guarantee that their agent didn't have a photo of the vin next to the photo of the wheel, because it's not physically possible. So, their picture can just as easily be a photo of someone else's wheel.

They said, "Well, unless you have documentation that the wheel was repaired..." I said, "What are you talking about, the wheel was not repaired because in my possession it wasn't damaged". "Well, you'll have to provide documentation that it wasn't damaged." I asked how I could possibly know in advance of dropping off my lease that I'd need documentation that the left rear wheel was not damaged? He had no answer. I told him, if you proceed saying that I owe you this $395 disposition fee and the $85 for the made up wheel scratch, then General Motors loses my business forever, and I will warn away anyone else who asks my advice. They said that I still owe that fee, so now GM will never see another dime of my money.

I had a lease on a vehicle for 39 months. At the end of the 39 months, I planned to purchase the vehicle, but was awaiting a back pay sum that I was going to use in conjunction with a loan thru my credit union, and inquired about extending the lease. They informed me that I could extend the lease up to 6 months, in 2 month intervals. I filled out the extension paperwork and THOUGHT I was set. Every 2-3 weeks, I would receive phone calls asking what my intentions were with the vehicle and they would have no documentation of the extension. Then, they would have the first extension, but not the 2nd and I was even into my third extension and they didn't have my second extension paperwork! By the time I was near the end of the third extension, I had finally received my back pay and went about setting up the purchase.

I should of known, with the nightmare of lease extensions (not to mention my automatic payments during the lease mysteriously stopping), that I was asking for trouble but I was set on buying the vehicle. NOTHING BUT FRUSTRATION from that point on. I sent the check, with the info they asked me to provide on the memo. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything or receiving the title in the mail, I called. They had no information regarding the purchase of the vehicle! They had me contact my credit union to find out the status of the check! I called GM Financial back to inform them that the check had been cashed BY THEM and would like my title. They wanted me to call my credit union back again! This time, to have them fax a copy of the front and back of the cashed check! My credit union faxed it to 2 different fax numbers on 2 different days. Amazingly they never received it ANY of the 4 times!

I finally ended up having my credit union email me the scanned check so I could forward it to an email address GM Financial provided and was told I would have to wait almost a week for them "to investigate". I wait 6 days and they forwarded my call to their title department and they couldn't do anything, even though the account shows paid in full, because GM Financial hadn't given them any instructions! The title operator gave me a specific number to call and... wouldn't you know it, after going thru all of the automated jargon, "due to unforeseen circumstances, we are not open at this time, please call back at a later time".

I called the original GM Financial number and explained what was now going on. I get put on a 20 minute hold and when she comes back, tells me that the reason they didn't provide instructions was because I didn't provide that info with the check! Apparently, I needed to provide the Odometer reading and sign it. They have had that information from the past ** signed lease extensions, the last of which I had sent in about a week prior to the check! I'm told that once I receive the form in my email, to print it, sign it, scan it and email it back and call back next Wednesday or Thursday, more delay!

She snidely says that if I want it any faster, I could provide them my FEDEX account number and I could have it sent overnight to me and then overnight it back. I was so infuriated at this point, that I didn't even think about the fact it wouldn't change anything except delay even longer, because the email to me and from me would be an hour, not 1 day here and 1 additional day back! So, needless to say, here I am, 4 weeks into something that should have taken a week, week and a half tops and still no title and more than likely when I call "next Wednesday or Thursday", there will be some new step added.

I will never use GM Financial for anything again, and I would never suggest or allow any relatives, friends, acquaintances to do so either. I could of made this even more detailed (every phone call was a chore) but I have wasted enough time and energy on this whole debacle as is. I tried rating a 0 Star, but it wouldn't let me, that's the only reason it's 1 star.

GM has a new take on customer service. It's the "NO SERVICE" approach! Instead of assisting their customers they ignore them. I have tried for almost a year to have a supervisor call me to discuss an error on the part of their bill pay system and have sent numerous emails to the vice president(s) of many different departments (Cheryl **, Ariel **, Darla **, and Kirk **) begging them to talk with me and they just simply don't reply. Additionally, all low level employees who do answer calls are some of the rudest and most unprofessional representatives I have encountered. I guess I can't blame them if the company policy is to provide as little service as possible.

It's sad that we have come to a day where corporations can hide behind technology, don't stand behind their products nor the failed systems they have put in to place and feel they owe no respect or resolution with their customers. I have paid my bill on or before the 7th of every month and yet one time Western Union (the company GM chose to work with to accept payments from their customers) didn't apply my payment. Now, even though I continue making payments, GM has charged me almost $200 in late fees, reported me numerous times to against my credit. I simply don't understand how they can claim an error on their and/or Western Union's part is held against me and my credit. I would NEVER even consider buying GM again! Not necessarily because of the performance of their vehicles but certainly I would not do business with a company that feels no accountability, respect, gratitude or kindness towards their customers.

So last July 2018 I purchased a 2018 Chevy Cruze RS from a local GM dealer that I had purchased from before. I was approved and financed through GM Financial. The interest rate wasn't too bad but every time that I have a question there is always a runaround answer for it. Today was the icing on the cake. I sent Brittini an AGENT for GM Financial a chat message on the GM Financial app asking about having a co-signer removed from my loan. She stated you will only be able to do that by refinancing the loan with a bank or credit union.

I said, "Even though I am financed through GM Financial already I can't refinance with you?" Brittini said, "Nope we aren't a bank, we're just a financial institution..." Whattttt??? So if you aren't a bank how in the love did you lend me money for a car loan?! Now it all makes sense how the car lot got me approved for an amount on a car that is now $15,000.00 negative equity! These people are crooks and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! Now here I am stuck with a car that's worth $14,000.00 and I owe $32,000.00!!! But yet I faxed them the copies from the bank and even has a screen capture of where they cashed it and I keep getting the same replies, "Someone will contact you back in a couple business days". Yet I’m just waiting in limbo land with my car payment saying past due. Ridiculous. I don’t have time to stress about this anymore in a high risk pregnancy so it’s gotten to the point of hiring an attorney. Also I have spoke to several different managers, etc. They said the payment department is backed up and also have hung up on me several times.

It was canceled and but didn't know why but would check and call me back. Guess what. Never happened. Third time I reached out to them I was told I could go to the website and request it myself but there would be a twenty three dollar fee attached.

So this when I lost it ask for a supervisor never came to the phone to speak with me had rep to provide me with instruction to getting from website with a coupon to waive fee, but failed to give really good instruction as when I tried to obtain it they couldn't fine my account had to wait until I was able to speak to support team to get correct instruction. So I finally got it ordered haven't received it yet though should be by May 9th. I really believe they never ordered it and when they found out they couldn't send it electronically they just said, "Oh well ** it." I purchased a brand new vehicle and have been a GM Financial customer for the past 7 years and the first 6 were great. The last year has been impossible in dealing with them. I became unemployed in June of 2018. I struggled to stay up on my automotive loan with them but always managed to make my payment even if it was a month or 2 late. In February of 2019 my loan matured but I still owed money on it due to past due late payments and the deferments that I had used. GM Financial told me that once the past due payments up until February were paid, I would be able to do a rescheduling for the remaining payments... That is where the trouble all started with them. I called in mid March of 2018 to start the rescheduling process for the remaining balance of the loan. The gentleman I spoke with walked me through the process very easily and told me what I needed to know and do.

He mentioned that I would be receiving an email within a few days to complete the process... something that he didn't stress was vitally important to the process. And he mentioned that if I didn't get it to be back in contact with them. I asked him what else I needed to do and he said just make your payment which will be due in May and you will be fine. Flash forward now to Friday, April 26th. I came out from work and found out that my truck was gone. I immediately called GM Financial to ask them if they had any information from them on it. They informed me that they has come and repossessed the truck. The information that they gave me was because they said they had emailed me the final paperwork on the rescheduling that I was supposed to fill out and send back to them to complete setting it up... something that was never explained to me that I needed to do.

The rep that I spoke with about my rescheduling had never mentioned this to me during our conversation... In fact he made it sound like that I had done everything I had needed to do to complete it. As this was after 5:30 on a Friday, of course there was no one I could speak within their recovery department, GM Financial's customer service gave me their direct phone number to the department and said they will be in on Saturday from 9-1 Central time so I figured I will speak with tomorrow. Of course I was misinformed (which isn't the first time this has happened with GM Financial at all), they were not in on Saturday so I went the whole weekend without being able to speak with anyone about all of this.

So on Monday April 29TH, I finally got to speak with their recovery department. Right off the bat I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes when someone picked up that wasn't a supervisor, so I was placed on hold again. I waited a few minutes and the next person that picked up wasn't a supervisor either. Finally when I got to speak with one, she was listening in on the conversation that I was having with the third representative. I explained to her that in no time during the process of setting up the rescheduling was I told that I needed to complete paperwork and fill it out to finish the process. She said well you should have read the email we sent you. Well guess what? There was no email from GM Financial...

I checked all my emails all the way back to the beginning of March in all my folders and not a single email was in any of them. Which then she turned the conversation on me saying how it was my responsibility to get in contact with them since I didn't receive an email from them. I responded with, "Had your people explained the urgency and seriousness of said email, I certainly would have." I also explained that their rep made it seem like everything was already taken care of and that I did not need to do anything else on my end. The GM Financial supervisor said that they have tried to contact me about it... Of course when they leave a message they don't tell you who they are, they just leave the caller's name and a phone number with no detail on any of the message (something I was told by them that they are not allowed to do in a collection call).

In fact after looking at my phone records, the last time they contacted me was on April 19th (a full week before taking my vehicle). She also said that from what she saw on her end that GM Financial had done nothing wrong and made no mistakes and the only option for me was to pay off the total remaining balance on the loan plus the repossession, tow and storage fees. I tried to reason with them and said that they shouldn't have taken my vehicle since I was never told all the specifics of the email, that I never received, and that it wasn't my job to ensure that their people are doing their jobs correctly, that there should be another solution to this problem since they wrongfully repossessed my vehicle. I even made the comment to them that "so let me get this straight, I screw up on my end of the deal and you guys take my vehicle. You screw up on your end of the deal and you take my vehicle... doesn't seem real fair to me."

She reiterated again that GM Financial had not made a mistake and that the only option was to make the recovery payment and that was it. I am so glad that after some cashing in on some favors, was able to come up with the money to save my vehicle. Never, never, never will I be doing business with GM Financial ever again and would recommend that to anyone that will listen. It is almost like they deliberately put me into a situation where they would be able to repossess my vehicle and feel like they cheated me out of my rescheduling agreement and more money in doing this. Caveat emptor when it comes to dealing with these crooks!!! If it were possible to rate them 0 stars I would have but you have to give them a minimum 1 star rating.

I recently moved to Rhode Island and contact them again on March 29 to ask what I needed to get to get my registration transferred to Rhode Island and that my CT registration is expiring 4/20/2019. I got a call from a Miya saying I needed to be more specific on the fax, so I resent it with all the requirements listed on the R.I. DMV site.

I called a couple of days later to ask if they sent out what I needed and was told by a Necollette, it would take 24-48 hours. I waited three more days and contacted them again, this time I was told someone tried to contact me because it wasn’t legible. No one tried to contact me after the second time I sent it. We have been GM Financial customers for many years and have an A1 Excellent credit rating in the 800s. That was until the last few months when GM Financial ruined our rating! We turned in our lease in November and leased another GM vehicle at the same time. They told us to check back with them in 3-4 weeks to see when the final lease end invoice would be ready. I called 3 weeks later in December and was told they are behind in the lease end department and to call back in January. I called in January 2 times and still nothing... I called back again in February with the same response... the lease end final invoice was still not calculated and every person I spoke to kept assuring me it would be another week or two. In the meantime, in February, they then proceeded to report me to all 3 credit bureaus for missed payments and delinquent accounts! How can we pay an invoice that has not even been generated yet!

I called GM Financial and my dealership manager, they kept apologizing and stating they are having issues with their lease-end billing department and that they would have the delinquent account notices removed. March 1st and their billing department reported me AGAIN to all 3 bureaus and STILL NO FINAL INVOICE from GM! This has gone on every few days calling and emailing back and forth with managers, department employees, etc, all telling me something different. At the end of March I get the Invoice for the first time and lo and behold it is WRONG! They overcharged me for Sales tax that was already paid up front. (No breakdown of what the total is broken down into, so I have no idea what was tax and what was payments, mileage overage, nothing).

I call them and now I have to wait another 2 weeks into April to get a corrected total (in letter form, not invoice form again with no breakdown). And AGAIN on April 5th they reported me to all 3 credit bureaus for delinquent account AGAIN! They have caused my credit score to drop from the low 800s to the mid 600s and I am furious! I called AGAIN to find out why when they said they were taking OFF the delinquent account notices... that they keep reporting them over and over again Every Month! Their answer... I leased a Cadillac ATS 3 years ago, This car has been a nightmare from the beginning. We had taken the car into the dealership multiple times for a defective air conditioner which would blow 100+ Degrees on the driver's side and 60 Degrees on the passenger side. Well in 3 years Boulevard Cadillac, Long Beach, Ca. was never able to fix, We were told that they could not find the problem, to the point of the sales manager saying that he would get us out of the vehicle (Lemon Law). Well as you can guess that never happened! So after 3 years of dealing with a defective air conditioner and Boulevard Cadillac failure to fix, we turned the car in. As you all know the dealership tried and tried to get us to lease another vehicle from them. (I Think Not).

So a month after turning the car in we get a final bill. Over $1000.00 Dollars, $400.00+ for wear and tear, Car only had 20,000 miles on a 36,000-mile allotment. Car looked brand new, but no problem with this charge (I was aware), (No Lie). Now here is the kicker, $595.00 dollars for a disposition fee, (What?) So in reaching out to GMF, they informed me that if I did not purchase a vehicle or lease another GM Vehicle I would be charged the 595.00 dollars disposition charge per the contract I signed, (Shame on Me) for not taking the dang contract home and reading it for a week and have my attorney read it as well, before signing.

Why would the financial officer not disclose this in the signing of the contract in the financial office. (Absolute No Disclosure). The only reason that comes to my mind is (Fraud) they know that you would never agree to this, so they have a ploy of intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right. So after calling GM Financial to inquire about this, they hardly wanted to talk to me (Well you signed the contact, You should of read it.) We all know that No one reads that contract that goes on for a mile. (Shame on Us). I learn my lesson, I will never buy another GM Vehicle again or deal with GM Financial again (Never).

So buyer beware of Boulevard Cadillac Long Beach, Ca. and GM Financial. They practice FRAUD for failure to require their financial management teams to follow a mandatory disclosure of ALL and I repeat ALL FEEs when purchasing or leasing a vehicle. We all know that these two companies will say in the end "You Signed the Contract" "You Should of read it", I get that, but why the deceit? Ask yourself, should I be concerned? P.S. I paid my final bill of over $1000.00 Dollars and will never again buy a GM product! And to show them that there is always other options I went out and bought my Wife a New HONDA, which by the way blow my ATS Cadillac away!

Take that GM Financial and Boulevard Cadillac Long Beach. Maybe this might help future buyers of GM products to think twice before buying a GM product. GM does not have your best interest in mind, only how much money they can take from you and me and put into their corporate pockets! Buyers Beware!!! But the saddest thing is I am an American and would of loved to buy an American Product. Is GM the enemy. I think so, what do you think? (Shame on Them).

Very disappointed for the following reasons: 1) My vehicle was repossessed the weekend after I had tried to contact them to let them know I was to receive money and would be catching up on two months I'd fallen behind. Not that any business cares that my child needed surgery on a broken arm and I had a high deductible because I don't get welfare. During these couple of days (Thursday and Friday) that I'd been calling, they happened to be out of reach due to some maintenance/updating on their systems. That following Sunday, my vehicle was taken. I was able to get it back early that week because, as I had attempted to inform them, I had money coming to me. I obviously ended up paying so much more than I'd had to.

2.) So my payments are due every first day of each month. I'm trying to pay two days ahead now, but they disabled me from paying online. I called, being that it's a Saturday today and they are, very inconveniently, closed until Monday, which will be my actual due date. Except now I have to take the time to call during my lunch time and since I only have 30 minutes, who knows if I'll get through or be able to take care of the payment and resolve that I'm not able to pay online.

As a software engineer something tells me they're dealing with database changes or upgrades but normally you don't turn off the old one until the new one is up and running and QA have been performed. I'm worried they dropped the ball and are secretly trying to fix it. Having no interest is nice but I'm about to go a real bank where this amateur shenanigans don't occur.

I was close to the end of my lease so I took it to the dealer and turned it in and leased a new vehicle. It was 1/18/19 that I did this. On 1/23/19 the dealership sent a full payment check with all needed information attached to the check to GM Financial. GM Financial cashed the check. The vehicle I turned in was inspected on 2/11/19 and sold the next day. It is now 3/19/19 and GM Financial shows me past due on the full amount. I called them and they said they have no record of the payment that the dealer probably put the wrong account number or didn't put any account number on the check. I told them they attached all the information to the check. I was basically told that they usually remove any attachments and dispose of them and only handle the checks.

First I asked them why they cashed a check that they didn't know what account it's for. They said they always do and it goes into an account and if there's a dispute they track it down and remove it from this account. Second I asked them if it was normal for their employees to be lazy and not write the needed information from attachments onto the check if missing. They basically blew off the question. I have had my dealership send a copy of the check and needed information to them. I am still waiting for them to correct this. I never had this problem with Ford or anyone else I leased thru other than GM. And going back to the inspection, I was told it can take up to 90 days to find anything out about the inspection.

I am on my first lease with GM Financial. I don’t remember having problems with the first lease I had (Capital One), but this second time has been a doozy. They keep “upgrading” their billing system, every few months, which results in changing my address back to my old address or not mailing me a bill, or putting my husband’s name on the account. Moving was a complete nightmare with this lease. Couldn’t seem to update my address despite multiple notifications online, in writing, and over the phone. As another reviewer mentioned, it took the better part of a year to get the limited power of attorney to change the car’s registration.

I wrote emails that I needed assistance, made several phone calls, sat on hold for an hour every time. People promised me to “check on what was going on and call,” but despite having 4 people promise that, no one ever folllowed through. Fortunately the DMV employees were actually really helpful, otherwise it never would have ended. GMF said they would let me know when they received the new registration. They never did. So I had no copy, even though I had the car and was driving it. It’s sad when you have worse customer service than the DMV! But as several people mentioned, it’s the condescending attitude that is intolerable. They are totally incompetent and not conscientious, but I’M the idiot. Definitely won’t use them again. And after reading these reviews, I’m terrified of the turn in process on my lease.

The final bill was supposedly sent to my home in NY, but we are in FL for the winter. It was never forwarded to us. When they called about the payment we told them to send it to the FL address, we never received it.

I called them a few weeks later and they wouldn’t say if it was sent or not and offered to fax it to me. I don’t have a fax machine in our home. They asked if they could fax it to a library nearby, really? I asked to pay over the phone, but they won’t take a credit card, instead they wanted me to give them my bank info, I don’t think so. So, now we are waiting for yet another final bill and a payout letter to be sent to us. But, they said it could take a while because they are backed up, and my credit report will get dinged every day until they receive the final payment, and it could go to a collection agency. I told them if that happens my attorney will get involved and they didn’t care. This is a horribly run company. I can guarantee that there is no way in hell that we will ever use them again!

I called GM for 5 months asking if the truck had gone to a sale. Each call I was told the same, waiting to go to a sale. The 5th month I was told the vehicle was not “grounded “.

We stopped making payments and the truck sold the next month. We received a letter stating we still owed $3000. I then contacted the BBB, they were not able to resolve the issue either. All we were asking for was a written notice we did not owe any additional payments and an apology for the way we, my father, was treated. We received a letter stating they would not request any more payments since the lease was only in mom’s name. That was the first question we asked GM Financial in the beginning of the process, again not told correct information. Please learn from our mistake and do your homework and don’t count on GM to help or have any consideration for someone trying to do the right thing.

I leased a 2016 Malibu. When I got close to the end of my lease, January 2019, I was bombarded with GM promotions to purchase or lease a new car. One was they would pay off four payments up to $2500.00. In October I took advantage of this offer and bought a new car with 2 payments left on my lease. In January I received a call from GM Financial that I owed them $475.00 for two missed payments and $146.00 for wear and tear on the lease car. Also when asked, they said it had been reported to the credit bureau. I was told they would waiver the $146.00 charge and would remove the negative report from the credit bureau.
The dealership had received the $475.00 check from GM and they overnighted it to GM financial. My credit score dropped from 820 when I purchased the new car to 640. Three weeks later I called to check the status and absolutely nothing had be done. The $146.00 had not been waived and nothing had been done with the credit bureau. Her answer to my questions was "I don't know why nothing has been done" and she would try to fix it. I told her I didn't trust that she would or could because the last two people I had talked to had not done it.

After being on hold for a combined 30 minutes she transferred me to someone in the end of lease department. She promised she would fix the situation and waive the $146.00 and remove the damaging report to the credit bureaus. As of this review I still don't know if the problem has been solved as I have not heard from her and there is no way to call her. I also called GM about the problem and they said since that promotion was no longer in effect they didn't have any information. When I asked to speak to someone who might be able to help I was put on hold for a long time and then I got the dial tone after they hung up on me.

No one seems to know how to answer questions, they charge you fees that clearly do not apply to your situation, there seems to be no known policy on certain criteria, and I have never been placed on hold so many times in my life. These aren't just a couple minutes here and there, these are 10 to 15 minute holds every single time! I bought my truck after lease end and was on the phone with GM Financial the whole time I was at my Credit Union getting financing. They gave me the total dollar amount to send and that was including the taxes to pay the state. THIS was 6 days before my lease expired and they said they would put a grace period on my account to give the check time to arrive. I called every other day and was told check still hadn't made it but grace period would be extended a few more days.

Finally, 8 days after lease end they confirmed check was received. Turns out, my CU sent too much money so I received a refund check. Then I get a letter from the state that taxes weren't paid on the truck. Well I never received a bill of sale from GM Financial so I call them to get that info to pay taxes. TURNS OUT, my bill of sale is a completely different number than the buyout amount which was also different from what my CU was told to send them. 3 different purchase amounts! That's when the real nightmare began.

I spent a week trying to get someone to figure out what the ** they did with my money and why they can't figure out where all these discrepancies are coming from. Finally, someone tracked down info that I was charged a docking fee of $395 which is only supposed to be charged if you turn in the leased vehicle, which was not the case since I bought the truck! They also charged me an additional monthly payment since my financing was late to arrive, even though two different people told me they would put a grace period on my account. The person I spoke with today tells me, there's no such thing as a grace period! I'm just so sick of this company and their complete lack of customer service, failure to maintain a standard operation procedure, and total ignorance when it comes to charging customers for things that should never be charged to them!

First of all, I will start by saying that I don't even think that GM Financial deserves the one star rating I gave, but I had no other option. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism that GM Financial has shown in the time that I have had to work with them as the financing company for my leased vehicle. When I moved to a different state for work, it was nothing but a huge headache in getting GM Financial to do their job so that my car registration could be processed in the new state. I registered my car in this new state in December of 2017. The Bureau of Motor Vehicles in this state sent several letters to GM Financial from March 2018- June 2018 requesting that they send the title for the vehicle over to them so that they could process my car registration.

I was personally sent a letter by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles stating that they had reached out several times to GM Financial and that they had failed to respond. From that point on, I got nothing but the run around from GM Financial in terms of why this hadn't been done (mostly they put the blame on the car dealership). In July 2018 GM Financial told me that they sent the title over to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and it should be there the following day. I contacted the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and updated them on everything and they said they would be on the lookout for the title. And if I didn't hear anything from them I should assume they have what is needed. I hadn't heard anything for two months, and assumed the problem was resolved. In September 2018, I received another letter from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles stating that they still hadn't received the title and I had two weeks to turn in my plates.

I won't go into the week by week breakdown of what happened after this because that involves 10 pages of documentation I have. However, I will say I was able to get a few extensions through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles so that my registration wouldn't be suspended. During this time, GM Financial was less than helpful, and didn't seem to have a sense of urgency in getting this problem resolved. I got different stories from everyone I spoke there. I was finally told on November 1, 2018 that on October 24, 2018 that GM Financial received the title for the vehicle from my previous state (why they didn't request it from there sooner is beyond me) and that they had to send it back because the title was not correct.

They told me it would take 3-4 weeks to receive the updated title. I explained that I was on my 3rd extension for my registration by that point and it was about to run out and asked if they could have the title expedited given the situation. They said they couldn't do anything on their end and suggested I call my previous state to see if things could be processed sooner. When I called the DMV in my previous state they informed me that they had received an application on October 24th from the third party company that works on behalf of GM Financial to have the title corrected, but that it was rejected on October 31 because the application was not notarized.

I immediately called GM Financial back and made them aware that this application was rejected, and was told they couldn’t do anything until they received the rejected paperwork back; which would take up to two weeks (not to mention the additional 3-4 weeks processing time in addition to that). I asked to speak with a supervisor, who didn’t seem as concerned that I was about to have my registration suspended. I was able to get a fourth and final extension through December until the title came through.

However, I was asked by the supervisor at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles I was working with if I could have the supervisor I was working with at GM Financial send her an email to update her on my situation so that she could add it to my file to justify giving me so many extensions. When I asked the supervisor at GM Financial to do this she told me she wasn’t allowed to write emails or send anything in writing per their legal department! If you are telling the truth and doing what you are supposed to be doing then why should you worry about what’s in writing?!

When all was said and done, the title was finally received and my registration was able to be processed on December 21, 2018...a year later! I am extremely disgusted by GM Financial and the way I was treated throughout this whole process. If I had missed a lease payment they would be hounding immediately wondering where their money was. However, it took over a year for them to provide me with what I needed to legally drive a car that I make all on time payments for.

I had no control over this situation as GM Financial is the “owner” of the vehicle, yet I was the one getting the suspension letters. I WOULD NEVER recommend this company to anyone that has a choice. When this lease is up, I will not be leasing another car where GM Financial is the financing company. I think they need to re-evaluate what it means to be professional, and take some accountability when they don’t do their jobs. Customer care is certainly not their priority. I hope I can save someone from going through the same headache that I’ve had to.

Don’t finance anything through them until they properly update their online system especially if you like taking care of your payments electronically. They won’t care if you’re a good customer who has never been late with payments (in fact few times even paid more than minimum payment), they will right away report to the credit bureaus when you make one mistake and because of their inefficient and confusing online system. I actually took care of that late payment right away after finding out they still remove it. The saddest part is I didn’t even find out from them but because I have a credit monitoring set up. Overall this company has their priorities completely upside down. No way this is good business.

Purchased vehicle for $47,966. Sent them a check for $48,000 two days later. 3 months passed and I’ve not received the title. I call today to ask, why I wouldn’t have received my title at this time. I was informed that there is a $291 balance remaining on the vehicle, which is why we haven’t received the title. I then proceeded to ask the representative, how I would have possibly know there was a balance, as I was under the impression it was paid off. When you call it says you have a $0 remaining balance due. I haven’t received a bill with a remaining balance, no email, no phone call etc.

The individual on the phone then proceeded to tell me, “he’s not sure, then send the bill out and they're not responsible for what happens to the bill from there”. Again, I asked him how would I know I had a remaining balance. He then proceeded to tell me, he has a PDF on his screen that shows the balances. I asked to speak to a manager and he said; “it’s late, I can walk around for a little bit and see if I find someone but they're not going to do anything for you.” I’ll never buy another GMC in my life. I called in November and they verified my auto draft was stopped. In December I get an email that my payment will be extracted in 5 days. I called customer service and was assured my auto draft was stopped. On December 20 they auto drafted a payment. I called and got an apology and was told customer service sent a request to the auto draft department to cancel but it never happened. Once again I went to my bank and filed an unauthorized transaction.

As of today they have not reversed the transaction. If I don't get this money back I will start over drafting because I have other bills to pay while they are holding my money. GMAC has reported to the credit bureau that my account was paid off and closed on December 1. There is no reason that they should still be extracting money from my bank.

The website and payment portal is unbelievably bad. You have to set your own start and end dates for payments, so you better know when the last payment is due. Never seen that on any other recurring payment I make. Won't let you set up future starting payments, so if you already paid for the current month, I guess you need to wait until next month to set it up.

How they handle property taxes on leased vehicles is absurd. They pay the tax and then put it on your bill, which is great and the same as every company I have ever leased from but with GMC there is no notification. There is no copy of the tax invoice sent, it simply shows up one month (as a past due). I can't understand why they wouldn't let you know this is coming, or that it's arrived. If you choose paperless you will simply have an outstanding balance until you go online and notice it. I wonder if this is a shady retention technique so they can offer some partial relief at the end of the lease instead of writing a big check if you renew a lease with them.

A glitch caused my monthly payment to be applied to the property tax and sent my account in arrears (they do give you 12 months to pay the property tax). If you are in arrears it for some reason cancels your recurring payment, so better catch the error quick or you'll be 2 months behind. It took 3 calls talking to 4 different reps to (possibly) get this worked out. Just about every large company has perfected their e-commerce by now and have user-friendly systems enabled, GM Financial is easily the worst I have dealt with.

However when I called GM Financial to get a payoff amount on the car I realized that by paying $348 a month, which is what my payments have been. I would owe nearly $1000 dollars more. When I call to speak to a representative they transfer me from one department to the next. Often losing our connection. Then only having to go back through the painful process of speaking to another completely different representative and explaining to them everything that I had just been through. It didn't take long for me to realize they do that on purpose. Their system is set up to give you the runaround. And I'm pretty sure by now they will never give me the title to the car once it's paid for. This should be illegal! They are a complete con business.

Unfortunately like me my guess you already have a loan through them and you were just happy that someone would finance you a car. It really is a shame that a company would be allowed to run their business with such deceivement. Putting it simple, we've been had tooken for fools. After consulting with our dealer he told us to escalate our issue to manager at GM Financial. So then I was told I could extend the lease for 6 months but at 2 month intervals. Call back after 2 months and extend again. So we did. Now we are told there is no extension. 13 days before Christmas and the car is due in 4 days. But they took another payment already. So if I want I can file a claim for my money back. What kind of BS is this company. And to add insult to injury I’m pleading my case to GM Financial India branch. Decided to refinance my home a few weeks after I turned in my old lease and got a new lease with GM Financial. The bank was worried about a letter I got that the old lease was paid off but I might be liable for some money owed on it. I called them and they confirmed that since I did another lease with them, I would owe $0. I waited a week and called them to see if I could get a letter or statement saying I would owe $0 instead of $14K. They said I had to wait 60-90 days for a final bill. I thought to myself that it wouldn’t take that long so I waited another week and called them just to see if it was processed. They said to wait a few more days and that once the final bill was processed, they could fax me a copy.

So I waited and called them back a few days later. They say the final bill was processed but now imaged and to call back a few days later. A few days pass and I give them a call. They say it’s imaged but that they absolutely cannot email or fax the final bill. That I would have to wait for it to be sent by mail. At this point I’m extremely annoyed. I call a few days later and they say they haven’t mailed it yet. I ask if they can give me anything, doesn’t have to be the final bill, that shows I have a $0 balance. They say they can do that for me. That was two days ago. If you like getting the run around, finance with this company. It is ridiculous that something so simple could take so long.

At that time your Buick dealership across the street inspected the 2015 Buick Enclave and determined it didn't have any wear and tear above and beyond "normal". The deal was the down payment would cover the lease return and excess mileage and anything else involving the new Santa Fe lease. Much to the surprise of my wife and I was receiving a bill almost 5 months later from GM Financial for $2,670.54 for excess miles and other than normal wear and tear.

"Once your, so I was told, "authorized" Buick dealership across the street made the inspection of both the miles and the condition of the Enclave and a contract was written up this should have been a done deal. Instead we now have a bill for almost $3,000 and GM threatening to ding our credit if this is not paid. Please investigate this matter further so I know how to proceed with legal, media, government or contacting watchdog groups. FYI...GM has offered a settlement of $925 but that needs to be done soon. The next time was over the summer of 2018, the cord controlling my air condition broke, they couldn’t get it fixed for over a month because they didn’t have appointments open. The last 5 times have been since the end of September 2018. I had a problem with the engine power being reduced. The first two times they couldn’t pull a code to fix it. The third time they replaced the gas pedal and said If it acts up again they would need to rewire it. The very next day it happened again, they said they knew it would happen but couldn’t fix it correctly per GM protocol.

At this time I said I was unhappy with the lease and wanted out. I was told it was too early and still owe too much on it ($3100). I’m sorry but for such a big dealership I feel $3100 is nothing. When I picked it up from being rewired my car windows and mirrors did not work. So now it sits in the shop AGAIN. Payments are $360/mo, yet I had to pay nearly $1600, $500 of which were repo fees, that could've been allotted had they discussed it with me before he took it. They tell me I have no choice but to let them take it, and that they cannot work with me on anything until it is repossessed.

Long story short, I pay the fees because I need the vehicle... Jump forward to the next month, the payment was due on Friday. Monday rolls around and I sincerely forgot. It dawned on me Tuesday, and I promptly paid it, yet a repo truck just rode by my house very slowly flashing a flashlight into my yard! It's still Tuesday night, so of course the payment is still showing as "Pending", but they're calling it "Four days past due", nevermind the fact that Sundays they are closed, so it's technically two days past. I have been GM Financial, since December 2013. I never had any known issues with them, until the first time in October 2017. When I advised I could not make the monthly payment until the the 16th of the month, and was told that would fine and has been setup and documented on my account. Well, less than 30 days later it had been reported to the credit bureau that I was late on my payment. So I called GM immediately, to find out why this had been reported after I had made arrangements to pay past due a month on the 16th of that month?

I was told by a supervisor that the payment needed to be posted on my account by the 15th of that month. I explained the rep failed to inform me on that, and that my credit shouldn't have been hit for a late payment. Especially, after GM agreed and accepted the payment and drafted from my bank account. I was told by supervisor they reported the information to the credit bureau accurately and they had the right to report it. Moving forward to recent, I paid my vehicle off in full on September 20, 2018 (exciting and huge accomplishment). Unfortunately not, I got concerned the title never was never mailed.

I called GM, and was told I did not have enough to cover the payoff amount. I said what?? I got the payoff request off the website by me logging into my account. Brittany said there was no notes of a payoff request on their end. I said well I got the large sum about from them and that I didn't just send what I wanted. I then, spoke with sup whom was not helpful and just as rude as the rep was. The sup nor the Brittany could explain what additional amount was for and as to why I never received correspondence of still owing them. They could not justify why this was, except I didn't send enough and that I have until November 11 3018 to send payment, before more interest is added to the balance. This is not right, they did not reach out to from September to November 1st when I got wind of the additional balance. I will never finance with GM ever again. Rip off. Fraudulent and misleading. It could not be easier and more professional. I am reading about people that have had issues with GM. In most (if not all) cases, it sounds like the customer is complaining about themselves more than the company.

GM runs customer credit when they get a request from one of their dealers. When the customer goes all over creation to different dealers he put everybody to work. They all want to get him a loan and GM gets multiple solicitations. Each deal is a different car with perhaps different rebates and cash down. They have to work every deal. It's not their fault the customer has bad credit or doesn't like the terms. Customers need to take responsibility for their own actions. They are almost always complicit in their problems. Stop blaming the company. The bigger problem is in the mirror.

I leased a vehicle from GM and had issues so I went back and had that lease bought out and refinanced another one from GM. At this point the old lease should have been completely paid off and the new lease take place in payments. After the first month I had payments taken out for both leases. I contacted GM and was told they would shut the auto pay off on my old lease and it would take 30 days to process my refund. Although I was not happy I accepted this. However the second month had come around and this happened again not to mention I still did not receive the first refund yet the second had been taken out. I notified them of this again and was told it was an error and I would have to wait another 30 days for the second refund. Someone there did not do the job correctly after the first time and I should not be penalized having to wait another 30 days.

So GM had taken double my money for 2 months and I could not do anything but wait. This is an unfair business practice and if I did not pay them for 2 months or told them to wait I would have to suffer repercussions They offered me no further explanation and no type of credits for me losing my money for 2 months and I want to note I provided them proof from my bank funds had been withdrawn on both instances. I feel they are not responsive to situations like this and all just follow a script to tell you what the procedure is. That procedure is not fair to a customer who has been loyal and on time with all of their payments. Someone should be able to find a way to override this and when I asked I was told they could not.

I had been late on a few payments because I lost my job a few months prior. As soon as I started working again, I started making payments every two weeks then every week. I got my account up to current via website info. I paid all of my late fees last. I made a payment toward my late fees but it never reflected it on my account. I made two payments of 100.00 toward 91.00 in late fees but somehow it never reflected on my account. Well that's when I started calling GM Financial to find out what was going on. All they could tell me was they were going to fix it and it should take a few days to update. Well three more weeks later and it's still not updated.

The money I was paying was being diverted into my next month's payment! I said, "Well tell me how much I owe for next month." Okay he said 366.35. I said, "Well at least it's going toward my payment." I'm not really tripping over that. Well now as per 1 full week, I check my website to make another small payment to cover the late fees again! But this time, I Owe 566.00 instead of 366.00 PLUS I still owe 100.00 in LATE FEES!!! GM FINANCIAL WHERE IS MY DAMN MONEY! I have called back several times to get answers but nobody can help but they all promise to fix the mistake but it never gets fixed. I end up owing more when I am obviously paying extra! HOW! I'm thinking of turning in this vehicle voluntarily and just buy one cash in a few months. I will never finance with these criminals ever again! They take your money and never offer an explanation of where it has went!

I suggest to anyone buying a car or SUV at a dealership if the finance manager tells you that GM is the best deal, walk away because they will ruin your credit score. We had sold our Mercedes Benz in March 2018 and it was paid off. It is now Oct and GM has reported to all three credit bureaus that our account is delinquent and we were late on the payment although GM stated on the phone to me that they were paid in full. They reported us late on March, April and Sept 2018 on a car that we paid off. My score has taken such a hit I am unsure how it will recover. I have filed disputes with all three credit bureaus and believe that GM financial needs to be investigated for fraudulent practices.

The next month I logged in to do a payment and it was refused without a reason being given. I called customer service and was told they outsource their payment system to Western Union and I would have to contact them. I asked for the person's supervisor and got the same "We can't help you". I'm GM's customer and they won't help me with a legitimate problem. She talked to her supervisor, and was told that this was true, and he said it was corrected, and I could make the payment right then. I did that and was assured it went through. I thought no more about it until I got a call the day I had planned to pay this month bill saying I owe 2 months and had a late fee for last month.

I called to see what was going on... last month was paid before it was due! She checked and said it was marked pd, but a few days later, that payment was cancelled because the bank # was incorrect. (This is the same number as always!) I was not made aware of this! This is the 2nd review I have sent with no answer. I called this evening to see if I could send my check yet and she said it would be fine. I have tried several times since and it says the same thing... My bank # is incorrect. It's due in a few days and I don't want my credit to be hurt!

I explained that I was NEVER notified of a late payment via a paper statement, email, or telephone call. I stated to the rep, that I could not access statements online - which she told me, because I was on Auto Pay, GM does not post statements online for auto-pay accounts. Therefore I had no paper statements and no online statements - how was I supposed to know I owed late fees? I've written to GM and even filed a complaint with BBB and GM responded that they will not remove the late fees. I see many of us have faced similar issues.

I can't say how much I hate this company. For one thing, I had repeat issues with them dinging my credit despite a perfect auto-payment history. I finally just paid off the loan so I wouldn't have to deal with GM Financial anymore. However, they wouldn't release my title to me! I called DAILY for SEVENTEEN DAYS trying to get the dang title released and overnighted. Some days, I was told there was additional paperwork to fill out and that it would be emailed to me "within four hours" (nothing they could do to speed this up, apparently). Paperwork never arrived. Next rep told me the paperwork wasn't required, and my title had been released for "processing". Two days later, next rep told me title had not been released, and that there was "some kind of hold on it". Two more days later, a rep told me again that a DIFFERENT set of paperwork was required, and that she'd "email it to me within four hours". This. Was. INFURIATING.

In the end, no paperwork on my end was ever required. Almost a month after paying off the loan, the title was finally "released for processing". They then claimed they FedExed it overnight, but couldn't provide me with a tracking number. This continued for over a week until I finally threatened to get a lawyer involved, at which point they conceded that the title had NOT been "released" or FedExed, and they didn't know why. Waited on hold for over an hour to speak to a supervisor, who magically "released" the title for me... FINALLY. It was dropped in the mail that day, but despite me providing a FedEx account number and insisting they overnight it, it was not overnighted. It was instead mailed regularly (although I was charged an exorbitant "expedition fee") and has, to this DAY, still not arrived. DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER FINANCE THROUGH GM FINANCIAL. Absolutely terrible decision.

As of March 28th, my lender (GM Financial) did not receive the title on this vehicle and I have not been able to register or drive it. We received the registration in April. However, AMA cars have not held up its end of the bargain as far as getting the check engine problem fixed and he provided a receipt of "we owe." After we filed a complaint with consumer complaint he went into action. On April 17th he called and agreed to take a look at why check engine light was on for 3 months. He told me to take it to Grand Prix Auto. I took the vehicle on April 18th at 3:00 pm. I left my vehicle and my witness came to pick me up. I kept in contact with Michael the owner of Grand Prix. He assured me he was going to fix the check engine and check on the issue.

I communicated with Mike daily, when it was time to pick up my car Mike also said I have a massive leak in the front of the engine. On the April 23rd I picked up my vehicle with an attachment of a nightmare, because Mike tried to charge me $55.00 for maintenance. When I refused, he said was not releasing my vehicle. My witness and I had to call the police to get my vehicle back, as well as call Mitch. When I contacted Mitch, he communicated with Mike to release the car and he will pay for everything. He also stated he will investigate and take care of why the check engine like is staying on.

After this ordeal it has been very difficult to get in contact with Mitch. He has been giving me the runaround. And nothing has been resolved. I contacted him today and he stated he would fix the problem. I believe it is too late. As of May 5th I had to tow my car to his dealership, because I was informed that my car died. I have a warranty that is not helpful and a dealership who sold me a vehicle that stop working after 3 1/2 to 4 month. And I know is a law against that, I am not sure where to start. Hopefully your agency can lead the way. I want to continue be proactive in my complaint filing.

I have now found the dealership and I drove the car to the location with a promise he would provide a loaner. I drove an hour to his location and no vehicle was provided. I am paying for a vehicle I cannot drive. Because it was faulty and dangerous. I almost died, because my vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. And with my belief system in Mitch who sold me the car to drive. And he assured me it was going to be okay. It left me stranded for 3 hours.

After I got my vehicle back after a month. When he returned my car on May 28th, my key fob was damaged. He had me take it to BMW to get it diagnosed and it was the shifter out of place. Because it was so expensive, he didn't want to get it fixed there. So, he agreed he would get his mechanic to fix it, it is now June 17th and the battery light is on and my car make a loud screeching noise. This was my first car and I have been hoodwinked. He had I regret I buying a vehicle from this establishment. If you do, you will be stuck paying a car note on a Lemon. And my car will night pass inspection in July. Every time I get my car back within days it breaks down again. And I back to chasing Mitch to keep up with his promise in writing that he will fix my car. It is now June 26th and he still has my vehicle. I had 12 tow incident from January 2018 until June 2018.

It is now July 2nd and my vehicle is still being held by AMA Cars. He said he is getting the vehicle fixed and he has not be communicative. I reached out to him on Friday June 30th. And he has not responded. It is now July 12th and I am still without a vehicle. And I am afraid he will not fix the vehicle correctly. At this point I am in fear of driving the vehicle if he doesn’t fix the oil leak correctly and the alternator belt along with the shifter. As of now the vehicle is now down again. And the warranty that came with the vehicle is not valid.

The issue is still ongoing. And I don’t believe it will change. The vehicle is still with the dealer. And I am not getting any resolution. As of today I am still without a vehicle it is July 25th. He is doing patchwork on the vehicle instead of getting it fixed correctly. I need to be pointed in the right direction. I want this issue resolved. He constantly make promises he doesn’t keep. His business should be cited. His practices and ethics are incorrigible. I received a violation on the 6/18/2018 on my vehicle and I didn’t have possession of my vehicle. I no longer want to do business with him or should I be responsible for a loan. I have approach him on several occasions. I am losing money due to the horrific experience with this vehicle. It is hard to make ends meet. I am losing a lot of money, I travel for work and without a vehicle I have not been able to get to my jobs.

My loan is with GM Financial Acct. #**. I want to get out from under this untenable situation but do not want to end up with a repossession on my credit file. As of now I still don’t have possession of my vehicle, because it will not pass inspection. The dealership has finally provided with a loaner that has 167000 and it is 2006 BMW. I cannot get to my jobs in certain area I travel. And my local jobs don’t cover all my expenses. I have been working closely with GM about my issue. The car is a lemon, and I believe it is beyond repair. If you repossess it you will get a broken shifter, broken key and fob and engine that leaks oil.

I can’t believe GM Financial would even work with a dealership like this. At this point I am search of legal help to seek damages and class action suit against GM Financial and AMA Cars. I am not sure what to do next. I want to be released from the loan, without a repossession. And I don’t want it to show up for as a repossession. I want to be reimbursed for all my car payments and my 2005 Beetle that I paid $7000.00 for and they only took the trade for $2000. And also for lost wages at work which was 4,000.00. I used vehicle for work. I am a traveling stylist and I need a consistent running vehicle. This vehicle has been a nightmare. He keeps giving me broken promises in writing and they are not getting fulfilled. It has impacted my finances and mental anxiety of my car constantly breaking down. I would like to sue for lost wages and mental stress. And plus the value of the car $16,000.00.

My daughter deferred 2 payments, GM is giving different answers about the balance. One customer service rep claims the 2 deferred payments count as 4, another customer service rep told me she deferred 4 payments total.

I'm at my wit's end as to how to find out how many deferred payments my daughter actually made and why the total is $1599. Also want to have the 60 day late removed otherwise if that is going to sit on my credit for years to come, why should I bother paying the balance at all. On top of all of that they had me on hold 1.5 hours, I finally get someone to try to pay the balance and she tells me they will charge me money to pay the balance on the automated system, W T F??? Horrible, horrible company, would NEVER EVER, with a gun to my head, buy a car and finance through them. If anyone can help me figure out what to do, email me '**'. Thanks.

Involved in an accident in a leased GM vehicle. Vehicle declared a total loss and promptly paid off lease by Geico insurance to GM Financial as the lienholder. All the funds were paid in one check, including the excess amount which is to be used for the down payment on a new car. GM Financial says they will be holding the funds until 60 days while it clears their "accounting department". Seriously? I will be without a car for 60 days while they take their sweet time. If I was 60 days late with my lease payment they would be sending me letters, calling me, reporting me to credit agencies, and ruining my credit. But if GM Financial is late 60 days they suffer no consequences.

This is my second leased GM vehicle. I was going to lease a third GM vehicle, but I am now seriously reconsidering this option if I have to deal with this spurious outfit again. What gives GM Financial? You promptly cashed the check from Geico weeks ago. I would expect a reasonable turnaround of 2 weeks to process, not 8. Just pay me my money now!

Leased a Chevy Cruze June 2016 in Santa Fe New Mexico under a 2 year, 30,000 mile contract for $240 a month. July 2017 my business opportunity in New Mexico went away and moved the lease car back to Illinois and tried to get the required paperwork to get Illinois License Plates. GM Financial online Messaging Service just gave incorrect information and I had to repeatedly call the service desk at 800-369-5212. The service desk kept giving me the runaround until December 2017, I finally asked for a supervisor and was able to get the paperwork I needed to Illinois license plate. I honestly believe that GM Financial did this on purpose to reduce the miles at end of lease.

During this time I prepaid my lease so that at the end of 2017, I had paid all the monthly payments. At the end of the lease I turned in the car with 25,000 miles giving GM back 5,000 on a 30,000 lease contract. A couple weeks later I get a GM Financial letter saying I owe $423.50, I was flabbergasted - so I called the GM support number 800-369-5212 and they told me the charge was because I did not get a new GM Lease or buy a GM Product and that was part of the lease contract. (I find this very deceptive - I was not aware of this clause.)

I complained that I had prepaid the lease and turned it back in with 5,000 mile less than what the lease contract allow, mostly due to the fact that I could not get the Illinois License Plate due to GM Financial lack of support. They agreed to reduce the amount to $100 and promised to send a letter and a email which I did not receive. I kept calling asking for the letter and they kept telling me that they had sent it twice. At the beginning of August 2018, I check my credit scores and find that they dipped from 825 to 803 and could not understand why until I check the details and found that GM Financial had reported to the three credit bureau that I had a one time monthly payment of $423 as of 12/31/2017. What is frustrating is that GM Financial could not have known that I was not going to renew my lease of buy a GM Product on 12/31/2017 as I still had 6 more months left on the lease.

I immediately call the GM Financial Help Desk and told them about the issue. They told me that I was always in late in my payments and to take the matter up with the credit bureau. To maintain my credit score I paid the $423 through the Western Union Call in Payment Option on Tuesday August 7th, 2018 and then called the GM Financial Help Desk again to complain this time that promised that all I owed was the $100 and on Wed August 8th, 2018 I finally got the letter and would get a $323 refund.

After I made sure my $423 Payment had cleared I called GM Financial at their Lease Loss Recovery Unit 855-719-9688 on Wed August 8th, 2018 and was told I had to wait 48 hours from my Tuesday call for a resolution. After the 48 hours was up I call again Thursday Aug 9th, 2018 to see the status, I was passed from the Lease Loss Recovery Unit to the Refund Unit only to be told that the Lease Loss Recovery Unit had not processed the refund and said that because I did not pay the $100 before Aug 1st 2018 the total reverted back to $423. After reading other review on ConsumerAffairs, I believe that these practices are part of the normal culture and business practices for GM Financial. You would do well to stay away.

Was told it was due to them changing systems and it had affected numerous individuals. July 2018, turned my lease in and leased a new vehicle with GM, received higher payment due to credit scores being lower than I showed. They, GM, agreed to give the better tier because of them being the only late payments showing on my credit. Now a month later I have received 2 letters showing they could not approve me for my lease I have been driving for a month. I WANT OUT, they can have my lease back. They have pulled my credit 5 TIMES in 1 month. Im disgusted with this company. My grandmother retired from GM years and years ago... she would be disgusted as well.

I try to make a long story short: our GMC Yukon lease ended beginning May 2018; this lease contract is signed together with a co-signee, so far. I had several calls with GM FL and received all details on how to proceed the buy off of our truck. All set on that. Went in time to the dealer, he called GM FL; all details OK at this moment. He prepared all documents, I made the full payment of the residual value, incl. sales taxes! The amount was financed, all set. The dealer sent his dealer check to GM FL, they received the check on May 10, 2018; the check was cashed just one day later May 11, 2018; I got copies of both the received check and the cashed check! You may ask why...?

I got several letters “you have to return the truck, etc. etc.” and I have to either pay the rate or extend the lease. I had several call to customer service and every time I received the same response: "WE DO NOT SEE ANY PAYMENT FROM ANY DEALER! We are sorry!" So, first payment due, second payment due and overdue and so on; the best now: NOTICE OF DEFAULT, RIGHT TO CURE, AND INTENT TO REPOSSESS! This is the second letter with that headline; I received this second letter August 3, 2018, dated August 1, 2018, showing me overdue payments, a total of more than $1,500.00 to be paid latest Sept 4, 2018, telling me on pain of penalties what will happen. These letters are issued from GM FL Collection Department!

So what can I do??? I received a letter from GM FL Recovery Department, dated August 15, 2018 confirming that “...THE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL AS OF 6/15/2018...” At least 5 weeks after GM FL cashed the check! Good news? Yes and no as I received another call just 3 days later from Customer Service, there is no payment, what do I want to do with the truck, returning or...? And now, 6 weeks later, I receive ongoing the mentioned letter, immediate call and reach finally Collection Department, and the lady could confirm that she cannot see any payment in their system (WHICH SYSTEM? There is NO system!).

At the end of a one hour call, explaining that both my co-signee and my credit history dropped extremely, the worst experience I ever had, with the information that she apologizes for all what happened (do we get a higher credit score for that?) and asked to call back this week Friday August 10, 2018. I keep you updated; any recommendation what to do, how, etc. really welcome! BTW: I did not receive any title yet; the first one GM FL sent to the dealer had to be returned by the dealer to GM FL as it was the title of my other truck (GM Silverado).

GM Financial has damaged my credit. From August until November of 2016, GMF reported to TransUnion, Equifax and Experian that I was "on time" with my payments for a car loan. However, GMF reported I was late in December 2016 and January 2017. For a loan supposedly opened in August 2016? Trouble is: I DID have a GMF loan in 1994 and it was paid off a decade ago! I found out the VIN for the car in question. It was involved in a California "lemon law" lawsuit! GMF was forced to take it back! But best of all: I was never in possession of the vehicle in question... EVER. I never even physically touched the vehicle in the erroneous GMF report! Plus, I never paid GMF on the loan they were reporting! This was never my loan!

The report that I was "on time" with payments was incorrect also, again, I never paid GMF on the loan they were reporting to the credit bureaus! I did and still do have a loan from a CREDIT UNION, for a car of a completely different year and manufacturer than GMF claims! I opened that one and only vehicle loan in the SPRING of 2016 with a CREDIT UNION, not GMF. I never asked GMF for a loan on my car, I applied with my Credit Union only! I have not owned two vehicles since a divorce in 2014. TransUnion has removed the erroneous GMF report from my credit report, however the other two "clown" credit bureaus refuse. GMF is of no help.

I've had a horrible experience with the UX on GM Financial. A misunderstanding on GM Financial's online billing page over the course of several months led to two bad marks on my credit score, even though I tried to pay in a timely manner and had the funds to do so. Over the course of 2-3 months, when I went to pay and finally got to the payment page, the website said my balance due was $0.00, which was confusing. I received no (zero, none, nil) communication from GM Financial that I had outstanding payments due, either by email, phone, or mail.

When I confronted customer service about this they claimed they would not remove the delinquency payments because I had other avenues to pay, which I was unaware of because GM Financial had not done their job as a company and reminded me that I had payments due. Additionally, I have had to schedule monthly payments three different times in order for it to work. Very bad website, cost me a good credit score. Leaves me with a bad taste about GM Financial and I'd be hard pressed to return to the company after my lease and I'd encourage other potential customers to choose other auto companies as well.

I leased a Buick through GM but returned it to purchase a new Chevy Equinox. Both the lease and the new purchase were through GM Financial. I thought I canceled my auto pay for the leased Buick but for some reason it did not take and it took $308 from my account. I immediately contacted GM and inquired if there was a possibility to move the funds as a payment toward the new vehicle. I was told it was possible, but would take 5-7 days to process. This was 6/28/18. On 7/7/18 I called again to see what the status of the transfer was only to be told that the first rep screwed up the transfer. This rep once again told me that she would process the request and it would take 5-7 days for the payment to transfer.

My new car payment was due 7/10/18 and she said I had a 10 day grace period so that I would have plenty of time for the funds to be moved. On 7/19/18, I called yet again. This person told me that a call had been placed to my husband on 7/17/18 and that it would take 30-45 days for the payment to be moved and that I needed to make a separate payment for the new vehicle ($375). I was upset... They already had my money in another account, and it astounded me that it would take so long when we live in a digital world. I asked to speak with a manager and was, after a several minute waiting period, transferred to the "manager's" voicemail. I requested someone contact me, but never heard back.

After leaving my message, I called my husband to see if he received such phone call and he said he didn't. There was not even an unknown number on 7/17/18 (It was his work number and he answers all his calls). I left a message on GM's financial complaint website on 7/19/18 (after speaking with my husband) asking them to honor the original timeframe that I heard from not one, but two individuals, or start the 30-45 day process retroactive to my first call. RADIO SILENCE. I left another message on their complaint website on 7/24/18 and still nothing. I will never, ever do business with GM Financial again. Their customer service is horrendous.

So, no one bothered to even check my payment history during my first 5 calls and then I was told, they received all of their payments so I need to get the reimbursement from the dealer. It is clear, I made 2 overpayments and I am out about $800 and they refuse to help me in any way, shape or form. One Star is one star too many. -10 Star. GM Financial has completely botched my Excellent Credit Score with the horrible management of this financial Company. Their invoices for our truck lease started arriving in January with the wrong amount on it. Much lower. 5% of the total amount. We thought we’d overpaid so we paid the amount invoiced. Find out later after they botched my credit score their software was the reason and this continued for 4 months. We tried countless times to call them starting in January and when you requested to speak to a representative on the automated menu the phone line immediately hung up on us. Over and over and over for 3-4 months.

In April I started getting calls on my cell phone from Arlington TX but they’d never leave a message!! Why would you not leave a message? After a month of this I answered one day. IT WAS GM FINANCIAL. It’s now May. They can call me but I can’t call them? They told me that they had software issues and I had a letter explaining it. Since January. The letter was difficult for me to understand. I tried to call for clarity. That’s not happening. Hung up on. Told them I paid the invoice amount for 3 months and finally started paying full amount in April plus the difference for those 3 months because I couldn’t get ANYONE ON THE PHONE. She asked when I’d have the full amount current. Told her by the time my May payment was due the entire account would be current. This was 3 weeks before it was due and I gave her the amounts and dates. Everything was going to be paid.

Please remember I’m still receiving invoices for 5% of the actual payment. But I’m now paying up knowing full well it was all going to come back and be due someday?!? She told me GM wasn’t reporting to the credit bureaus through all of this because of the mess GM had created on their own. But none of this would affect my credit score. Liars. I’m now shown late April and May although the full payments were all made for those months plus additional payments in advance.

Dropped my score over 60 points!! Was promised by representative that my score would not be affected.

GM Financial President Bob Beatty also promised in a press release in Automotive News that no customers would be affected by this debacle. Again...liar. Really wanted a new GMC Terrain for my wife. For more than one reason we didn’t...but the primary reason was GM Financial. Now in a new Mazda CX-5. Buyers beware of who’s financing your GM purchase. Really a horrible mess in that outfit.

I logged into the GM Financial site and used the Messenger service to talk with Joseph about getting my title sent next day FedEx at my expense. He assured me that it would not be a problem if I created a FedEx account and sent and address to cxo.resolution@gmfinancial.com with my FedEx account number and request that they send it to me next day service. The title was released June 23 with a send date of June 27. Come June 27 FedEx had no record of any shipment to my home. Again on Messenger center with Mallory he told me that because the Title department had to pull the title and send it FedEx (non standard shipper) so the send date was postponed to June 28.

Again, on June 28 FedEx had no record of a shipment to me. Talked with Korina the next day and she assured me it would be sent no later than the next day. Like a recurring nightmare FedEx had no record of the shipment and I was informed by Necolette that it would be several days as the Release Department and the Title Department worked final details before they would send it. Later that day I was told it was shipped at 2PM. Chorus line: FedEx had no record of anything shipped to me. At no time during all of this was a tracking number provided, even when I requested it several times.

Either the Messenger assistants were deliberately lying to me or they were being told to do so by their management. Being lied to is not my idea of good customer service. I recently was able to purchase a 2018 Chevy Cruze which I'm very proud of. However I pay all my bills on my phone through online apps. When I went to go pay my first car payment to GM Financial I accidentally hit the wrong button twice and the computer thought I was paying for two months. As soon as that called and talked to the lady right after I did it. I explained to her that I accidentally hit the button twice. I wasn't sure it went through the first time and I wanted to make sure it went through so I called and the lady I talked to you was supposed to cancel it out but when I called back she managed to leave no notes about that part. So needless to say when I called back there was no notes of her canceling it and then they pulled it out the second time which put me negative $425 in my bank account plus the $35 overdraft charge.

I called GM Financial once again and said I just called the week ago about this all. "We can't do nothing. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I said, "Yes." I said, "But now I got a $35 overdraft charge. I'm negative in my bank account." I said, "I have other bills that need to be ** paid that cannot get paid now." "Oh I apologize. It's not our fault on our end so we can't reimburse it." A week later after numerous phone calls they did it again and cost me another 400 something and yet another $35 overdraft charge. Mind you that's 70 bucks in 2 weeks coming from a guy that just bought a 2018 car and lives paycheck-to-paycheck. So the final phone call today was basically tapsilog, "Sorry we can't do it. It's not our fault," and I find it extremely pathetic that a company is willing to ruin a relationship over $70 that they can reimburse after numerous phone calls tell him what happened.

I somehow need to find out if I can switch finance companies or get the car with a credit union. I don't want to deal with GM Financial no more. I think they're scumbags. I think they're ripoffs. Over 70 bucks they're going to lose a customer and the part that pisses me off I called numerous times since the day I hit that button twice. It wasn't like I let it go for a month and then brought it up. I called numerous times from the day I did it and I pretty much got the same thing sorry without saying that you're pretty much ** is their attitude. I would recommend nobody going to GM Financial. This issue caused incorrect reporting to all three of the major credit agencies. TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. All three bureaus were showing I hadn't made a payment on my account since November of 2017 in the months of Jan- May 2018. This killed my credit score! Fast forward about a month, Around May 22nd when they finally started reporting again to the bureaus... And my account is showing a zero balance with one of the agencies with a CLOSED/SOLD status. It shows they sold my account and I am in default! I found this out when I applied for a home loan and my credit took a dive again! This has been an absolute nightmare! Now I have to dispute with the credit bureau AGAIN. In the process of this account payments were credited and deleted just one giant mess. I was told in numerous letters that the process of transferring was done and that my account was in good standing only to be told later that I had apparently missed a payment. At that time I was told that I missed a payment in Nov. Dec. and now that the payment was actually missed in March. No one seemed to know the truth and I became very upset because I have been a customer for years and never had a late or missed payment.

As I was trying to get this all straightened out and make my payments this company decided to ruin my credit by reporting my account overdue when in fact it was their fault that this problem had started in the first place. This company does not care about their loyal customers and has destroyed the credit of many which seems to be its only goal. As an NJEA member and a hard working person I will no longer deal with this company or Chevrolet. I will let my fellow union members know to be very careful if they have a need to deal with these two horrible companies.

Chevrolet is suppose to be about the hard working person and by watching their commercials you could almost believe it but buyer or leaser please beware of this money hungry credit destroying conglomerate that prey on the backs of the hard working Americans. Shame on Chevrolet and Bravo to GM Financial for showing their true colors to the American people. Hopefully this review will keep others from making the mistake that I made when I walked into that dealership.

I have called multiple times about this and the only response is, "We are working on this" and to "give us 6 weeks", which was 3 weeks ago. This is unacceptable for a so called reputable company. Are there any legal steps I can take to resolve this matter as credit scores mean everything for the working class in this country??

I have spent countless hours of my time on the phone only to get the runaround and wrong information and "we are having system issues so I cannot help you right now." In the last 3 weeks I have called almost everyday trying to get this resolved. The first time I was told that no mailed copy of lien release had been received even though it had been mailed over 2 weeks prior. Then was told I could fax it in which I did. She said 24-48 for response on faxes. Waited 3 days and called back... nothing! Was transferred to the title department only to find out they are a third party not part of GM and was told GM had to do it on their end and then send it to them.

Called right back to CS and demanded a supervisor who after 30 minutes of holding told me I had to fax it to the title admin department and it would take 3-5 business days. Hmmmm who do you think is telling the truth? Or does anyone at GM even know what the truth is? Where do the documents go that are sent to them by various agencies on people's automobile loans? Black hole I can only assume. Do not support this horrific company. Finance through your bank or another lender. They do not deserve anyone's business. They are incompetent and lack the most basic of customer service and support. Funny thing is, I am trying to get the lien released so I can buy a new car and give my son the current auto as his got wrecked. Sorry GM you won't get my business EVER again!!

At the beginning of the year, GM Financial shut down for a few days to do some kind of update to their system, and since then it’s been a nightmare. In February I got a call from them saying I was two months behind in my car payments. So I called back and spoke to a representative and they went over my payment history with me and said everything looks up to date and they aren’t sure why it’s saying I’m late.

And now, I’m trying to move and buy a house, and my credit score came back low and the main reason given was that GM Financial was reporting that my account was delinquent back in December (it never was) and they haven’t updated the credit bureaus since December. So I called today and talked to someone, they said they are aware of the problem, and started fixing it in early May, but it won’t reflect on my account until June, and could take 30-60 days for it to cycle to the credit bureaus.

So essentially for the entire summer my credit score can’t go down because of their system’s mistake and they say there’s nothing they can do about it at this point except send me a letter saying my account is up to date to pass on to my mortgage lender so they can pass it on to the credit bureaus and see if they accept it and rescore my credit based on it. This is completely unacceptable, and if the credit bureaus don’t accept the letter, my interest rate on my loan will be nearly a full point higher than it would be without their mistake causing it to be higher, which translates to over $100/month. So needless to say, if I do end up with the higher interest rate, I will be suing GM Financial for whatever the difference in price will be over the term of the loan (at $100/month that would be $36,000).

Updated on 07/26/2019: I was notified early July by GM Financial claiming I owed a payment. This surprised me, because I am currently enrolled in automatic payments for this account and it it linked to a bank account so there should be no issues transferring the money. After I received a voicemail from GM about making a payment, I went online and saw that my account with them had somehow gone delinquent for a missed payment. I went ahead and paid what was owed and also paid for the next month. I never received any GM's autopay system was not working. A quick check of my credit score revealed that GM had reported a delinquent account and my score had gone from a 780 to a the mid 600's overnight.

A quick search of online reviews revealed that I am not the only customer that has been impacted by GM's inability to take payments correctly in recent history. Additionally this is the SECOND TIME that this same error has occurred as my account was marked delinquent in winter of 2018 causing the same issues. Avoid GM Financial if you can, they will ruin your credit, and after they do good luck getting ahold of anyone to fix this issue!

Original review: I wish to report the GM Financial has absolutely no respect or concern for its customers. I received notice in December 2017 that my monthly payment had not been received for my 2017 Chevy Trax. This concerned me as my account has been set up for auto-pay and every single payment has been made on time. This was followed shortly after by receiving another letter that GM's system was receiving maintenance and that all payments had to be sent in by mail. As soon as I received this, the check was then sent to GM. In January I came to realize what GM Financial had done when I applied for a Mortgage and my credit score came back low - for over a year I maintained a score between 720-730. When I asked what had happened, it appeared GM Financial had marked my account as delinquent for a missed payment and as a result this had completely changed my credit.

I called their helpline for the next repeatedly for the next week and kept receiving an automatic response that all lines were busy and to go online for assistance. This was a dead end as well since no response was received from messages sent. Finally, I called our dealership and explained the problem and was given a number to call a GM Financial representative directly. I then called him and explained the situation to him to which he responded that this system update had caused a lot of customers the same issue and that it would be resolved. Additionally, I sent copies to the representative demonstrating proof that all payments were made and in fact was overpaid by a month.

It has now been over three months and a further review of my credit score shows that no changes have been made. I have asked kindly that this problem be fixed but I have no confidence that it will. This has resulted in me being unable to apply for an apartment lease or a reasonable mortgage because of my low credit score. GM Financial does not seem to mind if you are a good customer who honors your contract and makes payments in full and on time. The lack of care and attention I have received from any representative in this matter is appalling and I am happy to post this in public because potential buyers need to be aware of how poorly you will be treated if you lease a car from GM. -

GM updating their incorrect reporting does not raise my score back up, nor will it, any time soon. I called and talked with a manager today because I feel I should be compensated for the $1100.00 I had to spend that was purely the result of their inaccurate reporting. I was told that was probably not going to happen because they have to abide by the terms of my loan agreement. I mentioned that GM never gave anyone notice there may be negative impacts on our credit and many people still are unaware of what has happened. I am not sure what will come out of this but I cannot believe this may be allowed and even if they correct the reporting on our credit reports it will talk months to gain back the points we lost.

Every since I requested the payoff, they have stopped reporting my payments to the credit bureau. It makes me look 5 payments behind on my loan plus my credit report shows me owing $2500 more than I really owe. The company stopped reporting my payments to reduce my credit score so I could not obtain a loan from another company.

This is a huge rip off scam being used by this company. I think an investigation is in order. When I confronted them about the issue, they said they stopped reporting because of "errors". Please stop these people from doing this. It is highly profitable for this company to use this practice because it keeps their customers buried in the same loan and because of the misreporting, it limits customers ability to obtain new loans as their credit scores don't reflect payments made.

I have been dealing with noncustomer service since last August (2017). To recap, we leased a 2016 Buick Encore in July 2016. We had no issues until August 2017 when we received what we thought was an incorrect billing. We contacted them and we were informed the additional $275 added to that statement was for City of Warwick Taxes. I asked them to send us a copy as we had never received a notice like this before. That individual did send a copy of the tax bill and I verified it with our City. My husband's name doesn't appear on that bill only the Vehicle ID and with that information I sent 2 checks in with the next billing statement. I made a copy of the Tax bill and added a separate check for it and then also enclosed a check for our normal payment.

Ever since then, we keep getting robo calls from their computer asking us to call. When I called the first time, I was told I was past Due. I told that individual that that was not possible. She said yes it was because we didn't pay the proper amount. When I asked her to explain she said I was not paying enough. I pay more than what is due each month for the base payment, so that couldn't be possible. She said she went and checked with someone and when she came back she told me it was because I had sent in 2 checks the previous month and it wasn't enough. I told her she needed to go back and research that again because 1 check was for the Base payment and the other was for the tax bill they had previously sent. She said she would document our phone call and have someone contact me the next day.

Since then, I have been receiving robo calls from their computer. I have made 2 more calls to them and spoke to two different individuals Tesha ID#** and her supervisor Hailey ID#** who said to send me a fax with the information and they would put a hold on the robo calls until they got this sorted out and would call me once that had been done. I faxed them on 1/25/2018 at 15:21 pm. As you can see, a lot of time has been used up by me to take care of this situation and it is still happening because I am again getting these random robo calls daily and still getting incorrect bills. I have made a spreadsheet showing all the payments sent to GM from the very first payment.

I also told them that in January they instituted an ACH tracking system for how they handle receiving payments on their end and that apparently doesn't work well either as they informed me this month that I had a late payment reversed because of something on their end (noted on their billing statement-not a live person) but the item they referred to as being late was in fact received from them 5 days earlier than the date they stated. The banks timestamp their receipt of processing withdrawals from a customer's checking and it appears on my checking statement.

I was so exasperated this month that I again sent what they are due and another copy of my spreadsheet for them to refer to with a letter stating that their computer system should recognize when a live person answers the phone not to leave a blanket recording and just send it to a customer service person. Because that is was is happening now with their New and improved computer system. I pay my bills each month, and I have no intention of letting some Giant company tell me otherwise. No customer representative has ever reached out to me directly. That is just poor business practice. I do know that when this lease is up, we are going to go back to Ford products because we do not intend to have to deal with any vehicles that are handled by GM Financial Leasing.

As of March 12, 2018 they are still not giving me an online credit for the payment I made in December 2017 and because of this my entire account if off. I have spoke to about 20 people with GM and still nothing. I can't even pull up my statement for December 2017 on their system. I have now filed a report with the BBB. On their site my account shows past due and I even get past due letters in the mail but fact is I am ahead of the game by being ahead on my payment. I can only hope people read these reviews before using these people to finance your vehicle. I sure wish I had. They have been telling me they are working on getting this fixed since December 2017. It's just an IT thing & should not take 3 months and still nothing. Are they just wanting me to forget that I overpaid them. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

I would give ZERO stars if that was an option. Their customer service agents are rude and not helpful. I called to cancel my auto-payment because my account was paid in full. After speaking to 5 different agents, including 2 supervisors, I was told I could only have verbal confirmation that the auto-pay cancellation took place and a refund requested. They will NEVER get my business again.

This is the worst company to deal with, avoid! I traded my vehicle in on November 17th. The dealership got the payoff and sent the check. GM F cashed the check in December so it's done right? Nope GM F showed me paying 30 days late for January and reported it to the credit agencies. I didn't own the car!!! Now I will have to jump through hoops to get it off of my credit. This was after they sent a blanket email to their customers stating no one will be marked late because they are having billing issues. No more GM F or GM vehicles for this family.

GM Financial is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The past 5 months I have literally been in perdition. Hopefully I can save someone else from the hassle of dealing with a... ** company!! I’ve learned that auto loans can be easy/hard to come by. I suggest to shop around. Review the product. Most of the times interest rates are based off credit scores. A company can make it sound like a great deal, leaving you to believe there is no other option/bank willing to do the same. There are many companies willing to work/help. I purchased an auto loan a couple years ago through GM financial. No issues. No complaints. I eventually traded off the vehicle for a new shiny object. I decided to go through a different bank; with a better interest rate.

A another year went by, my husband decided to purchase a new truck. We decided to work with GM financial. As they helped me in the past (loan/boost in credit score/etc). Life happened! Eventually life ended in a repo. Huge dive in credit score (as it should be. That happens). We couldn’t afford the remainder of the auction balance, or whatever/however that crap works. We tried working out a payment plan. Negative results. And, lack of advice. Besides... “Should have made your payments”… yea I know, wish I wasn’t laid off and making less on my unemployment.

Time goes on… Life turns around. We can pay our dues in large monthly installments. Not good enough. GM financial takes us to court and sues for the balance. (We are not opposed of the situation by any means. We messed up. Take full responsibility. And, fought to get back on top.) GM financial won in court. My husband and I did not even try to fight it. We offered monthly installments. They wanted to go after our tax returns. Whatever. Take them. We can wash our hands and be done. This is May of 2017.

My husband and I decided to save those “large monthly payments” and pay off the debt collector/law firm before tax season rolled around. Mission accomplished!! We ALL (GM financial, Debt collector/lawyer included) agreed on a settled lump sum amount. Payment went through on 10/30/17. Submitted to the courthouse and signed off that we are free and clear. I thought “life” would move on.

WRONG!!! Can’t buy a vehicle. Can’t buy a house. Can’t even get a credit card to JCPenny lol. Credit score is fair. So… problem... There is a huge debt on our credit report. (Yes, I waited for the full 30-60 day bullcrap time to update the system) GM financial refuses to update the credit agencies. I called in December 2017. GMF said they will update, as they have a zero balance on their end. They update the wrong info. Stating there is a remanding balance. I called GM financial in January 2018. Zero balance. I asked for a letter stating this information. Never came. Still reporting to the credit agency that we are in default. February comes and GM financial is still screwing me around. Falsely reporting. (They could easily report the account closed and settle in less than full… along with their negative missed payment reports. Maybe, report the correct info??).

I have disputed this issue with all 3 credit agencies. GMF is MIA. No dispute back. Kinda burnt out. I decided to hire someone (Great credit repair company!!) I submitted every court document (GMF lawyer/debt collector provided me with every piece of paper I need to fight this) bank statement, and phone records (hours on “hold” and being jacked around).

Not sure how the court of law works, but it would be nice to countersue. Isn’t that what people do know of days?? (Sarcastically speaking) I had to pay their fees for my mistake. The lost of the remainder balance of the auction. Their lawyer/court fees. They should pay me back for fixing their end of the deal ???? I recommend researching a company before purchasing a product. Wish I would have years ago. I did not realize GMF is full of 1 star reviews. Today, I was just “Google stalking” GMF, while soaking my sorrows in a cup of coffee. Thought I could add my bad experience to the list.

Ever since GM Financial updated their website, every time I log into my account, it shows that we are past due. This is not correct. I have been making payments to them ever since I have this loan. I split my payments and actually make more of payment than is what required. They are not reflecting my payment for the current month. I have called so many times and they say it is going to be corrected -- WHEN? I do not know what they are doing with my money. I am not past due. How can a business run like this. SEEMS LIKE A BREACH OF CONTRACT TO ME.
