I received a letter dated August 8th regarding a refund I was suppose to receive from GM Financial in the amount of $3551 dollars. I have called multiple times and was told the check has been mailed by multiple employees on August 31st, but I recently called September 10th to find that the check hasn’t even been printed. I have requested this refund be processed and overnighted but the employees are refusing to send my refund overnight telling me I will receive it by September 16th. I called September 11th and the check still hasn’t been mailed so there is no way I will receive it by September 16th. So at this point they are holding my refund for no reason and it looks the refund will never be mailed. The same story they keep telling me is the accounting department is back up but I do not believe it should have taken this long nor do I believe it’s been processed because they have lied to me multiple times.

On 5/22/15, I entered into a Lease Contract GM Financial for a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. I received the bill for June, paid online, and enrolled in Auto Pay. On 7/21/15 I logged into my account to see if Auto Pay had taken effect or if I needed to pay the bill and saw a 0.00 balance due. When I spoke to a rep, they stated I was enrolled in Auto Pay and that no balance was due. Each month, the payment was auto deducted from my checking account on time.

I logged into my account June 2018 to plan for the end of lease, to my surprise, I owed $624+ in late payment fees. I immediately contacted customer support via live chat. I explained that I was NEVER notified of a late payment via a paper statement, email, or telephone call. I stated to the rep, that I could not access statements online - which she told me, because I was on Auto Pay, GM does not post statements online for auto-pay accounts. Therefore I had no paper statements and no online statements - how was I supposed to know I owed late fees? I've written to GM and even filed a complaint with BBB and GM responded that they will not remove the late fees. I see many of us have faced similar issues.

I returned my lease vehicle to the GM dealership on Aug. 20, 2018. Payoff was sent on Aug. 22, 2018. On August 28, 2018 I called to speak to rep. at GM Financial to ensure they received the payoff and no more auto-pays would be processed. The rep. told me they received the payoff as of Aug. 24 and the auto-pay was canceled. On Sept. 1 an auto pay was taken out of my bank account. I contacted GM again and then they informed me I was to "CANCEL" the auto pay online. Which I did. So I asked when I would get my refund and they told me 90 days.

I asked them to give me a status on the payoff and they told me they were unable to provide me with a status. I spoke to supervisor and they also were unhelpful. It is now September 10. The payoff is still pending, and I am still awaiting a refund. This has been by far the most frustrating, stressful and unprofessional experience I have ever encountered with an auto financial company. I will never buy or lease another GM vehicle ever again.

I can't say how much I hate this company. For one thing, I had repeat issues with them dinging my credit despite a perfect auto-payment history. I finally just paid off the loan so I wouldn't have to deal with GM Financial anymore. However, they wouldn't release my title to me! I called DAILY for SEVENTEEN DAYS trying to get the dang title released and overnighted. Some days, I was told there was additional paperwork to fill out and that it would be emailed to me "within four hours" (nothing they could do to speed this up, apparently). Paperwork never arrived. Next rep told me the paperwork wasn't required, and my title had been released for "processing". Two days later, next rep told me title had not been released, and that there was "some kind of hold on it". Two more days later, a rep told me again that a DIFFERENT set of paperwork was required, and that she'd "email it to me within four hours". This. Was. INFURIATING.

In the end, no paperwork on my end was ever required. Almost a month after paying off the loan, the title was finally "released for processing". They then claimed they FedExed it overnight, but couldn't provide me with a tracking number. This continued for over a week until I finally threatened to get a lawyer involved, at which point they conceded that the title had NOT been "released" or FedExed, and they didn't know why. Waited on hold for over an hour to speak to a supervisor, who magically "released" the title for me... FINALLY. It was dropped in the mail that day, but despite me providing a FedEx account number and insisting they overnight it, it was not overnighted. It was instead mailed regularly (although I was charged an exorbitant "expedition fee") and has, to this DAY, still not arrived. DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER FINANCE THROUGH GM FINANCIAL. Absolutely terrible decision.

I made a mistake in March 2018 and paid the wrong account. Unfortunately we have several accounts with GMF and I made a payment to my sons account instead of my wife's. I called to get it corrected right away and surprisingly the customer service person I spoke to was very nice and polite and said "No problem. We will take care of it right away" (I expected her to be rude after I read all the reviews). So every month since then I called GMF and they promised me it would be taken care of and every month I get my statement and it has not been corrected. On top of that they have been charging me a late fee every month also. I have contacted GMF, GM headquarters and my salesperson where I lease my vehicles and nobody so far has been able to or willing to help me. They definitely are not there for the customer so it has to be all about the money.

Personally I like GM vehicles but I will not finance through GMF ever again and I'm not going to go through the hassle of getting a bank loan to lease a vehicle when I can go get a Ford and do the financing right there. It's all about convenience for me and GMF is not convenient at all! I would have a son give me the money and make the payment but I'm worried that if I do they will finally correct my problem and I'll have to start all over again. I thought about refinancing but same issue. Who can I call or email to get this taken care of?

As soon as I got my lease, I set up recurring payments on the GM FINANCIAL site. These payments have come out of my account as planned for FOUR MONTHS, and yesterday I noticed a ding on my PERFECT credit report, stating I had not been paying my lease. Upon calling GM Financial today-this is a KNOWN ISSUE-where the Recurring minimum payment amount reflects less than your contract/statement! I have all my bills on recurring payment plans & have NEVER had an issue before. When asked WHY GM Financial did not call me to try to collect the missing money ($40 each month), they said it wasn't their responsibility.

I know others have been impacted by this and they have NO FIX in place, but advised that I look at my statements going forward (I signed up for paperless statements & since this is a recurring lease payment, didn't think to look). HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE-I spoke with "Scott" and he was unable to help me in any way & said "Our IT department is aware of the issue." I have 32 more months left in the lease... so of course I have fixed the recurring payments to reflect appropriately, but WOW-I would much rather work with Toyota or Honda at this rate.

Bought a 2017 Buick, took advantage of zero finance. After one year we decided that we did not need it. So we put it up for sale taking a loss on payoff amount. We received an offer and decided to take it. We owed more than offer so waited for deposit on car. I informed the buyer of my dilemma and he said ok, figuring perhaps a few days before cleared lien payoff letter would arrive. Well I sent a cashier's check for $35,000 to them next day delivery at a cost of 49$, hoping this would along with my letter asking for quick service in sending out payoff.

Well three calls and one lie and it’s been over 15 days, now it supposed to be in the mail. Really! I’ll never after 45 years a loyal GM purchaser never buy another product, that’s over 30 car purchases. Warning. Do not use GM Financial unless you are certain that you are keeping car until it is paid off for the payoff letter takes over a month to receive, terrible company to deal with in this day and age. They started contacting me in April saying that I was behind. I argued but made a double payment in April anyway because I didn’t want it to affect my credit. But every week I was calling them with my bank statements to straighten it out. Finally in June a lady told me that they changed their system & my payment wasn’t processed & I was really a month ahead so don’t worry about the June payment. But in July I’m back a month behind again & they never stopped charging me late fees & still reported it on my credit report??? They are cheating people!!!

I purchased a vehicle from AMA Cars in Trevose, PA on December 27, 2017. As of March 28th, my lender (GM Financial) did not receive the title on this vehicle and I have not been able to register or drive it. We received the registration in April. However, AMA cars have not held up its end of the bargain as far as getting the check engine problem fixed and he provided a receipt of "we owe." After we filed a complaint with consumer complaint he went into action. On April 17th he called and agreed to take a look at why check engine light was on for 3 months. He told me to take it to Grand Prix Auto. I took the vehicle on April 18th at 3:00 pm. I left my vehicle and my witness came to pick me up. I kept in contact with Michael the owner of Grand Prix. He assured me he was going to fix the check engine and check on the issue.

I communicated with Mike daily, when it was time to pick up my car Mike also said I have a massive leak in the front of the engine. On the April 23rd I picked up my vehicle with an attachment of a nightmare, because Mike tried to charge me $55.00 for maintenance. When I refused, he said was not releasing my vehicle. My witness and I had to call the police to get my vehicle back, as well as call Mitch. When I contacted Mitch, he communicated with Mike to release the car and he will pay for everything. He also stated he will investigate and take care of why the check engine like is staying on.

After this ordeal it has been very difficult to get in contact with Mitch. He has been giving me the runaround. And nothing has been resolved. I contacted him today and he stated he would fix the problem. I believe it is too late. As of May 5th I had to tow my car to his dealership, because I was informed that my car died. I have a warranty that is not helpful and a dealership who sold me a vehicle that stop working after 3 1/2 to 4 month. And I know is a law against that, I am not sure where to start. Hopefully your agency can lead the way. I want to continue be proactive in my complaint filing.

I have now found the dealership and I drove the car to the location with a promise he would provide a loaner. I drove an hour to his location and no vehicle was provided. I am paying for a vehicle I cannot drive. Because it was faulty and dangerous. I almost died, because my vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. And with my belief system in Mitch who sold me the car to drive. And he assured me it was going to be okay. It left me stranded for 3 hours.

After I got my vehicle back after a month. When he returned my car on May 28th, my key fob was damaged. He had me take it to BMW to get it diagnosed and it was the shifter out of place. Because it was so expensive, he didn't want to get it fixed there. So, he agreed he would get his mechanic to fix it, it is now June 17th and the battery light is on and my car make a loud screeching noise. This was my first car and I have been hoodwinked. He had I regret I buying a vehicle from this establishment. If you do, you will be stuck paying a car note on a Lemon. And my car will night pass inspection in July. Every time I get my car back within days it breaks down again. And I back to chasing Mitch to keep up with his promise in writing that he will fix my car. It is now June 26th and he still has my vehicle. I had 12 tow incident from January 2018 until June 2018.

It is now July 2nd and my vehicle is still being held by AMA Cars. He said he is getting the vehicle fixed and he has not be communicative. I reached out to him on Friday June 30th. And he has not responded. It is now July 12th and I am still without a vehicle. And I am afraid he will not fix the vehicle correctly. At this point I am in fear of driving the vehicle if he doesn’t fix the oil leak correctly and the alternator belt along with the shifter. As of now the vehicle is now down again. And the warranty that came with the vehicle is not valid.

The issue is still ongoing. And I don’t believe it will change. The vehicle is still with the dealer. And I am not getting any resolution. As of today I am still without a vehicle it is July 25th. He is doing patchwork on the vehicle instead of getting it fixed correctly. I need to be pointed in the right direction. I want this issue resolved. He constantly make promises he doesn’t keep. His business should be cited. His practices and ethics are incorrigible. I received a violation on the 6/18/2018 on my vehicle and I didn’t have possession of my vehicle. I no longer want to do business with him or should I be responsible for a loan. I have approach him on several occasions. I am losing money due to the horrific experience with this vehicle. It is hard to make ends meet. I am losing a lot of money, I travel for work and without a vehicle I have not been able to get to my jobs.

My loan is with GM Financial Acct. #**. I want to get out from under this untenable situation but do not want to end up with a repossession on my credit file. As of now I still don’t have possession of my vehicle, because it will not pass inspection. The dealership has finally provided with a loaner that has 167000 and it is 2006 BMW. I cannot get to my jobs in certain area I travel. And my local jobs don’t cover all my expenses. I have been working closely with GM about my issue. The car is a lemon, and I believe it is beyond repair. If you repossess it you will get a broken shifter, broken key and fob and engine that leaks oil.

I can’t believe GM Financial would even work with a dealership like this. At this point I am search of legal help to seek damages and class action suit against GM Financial and AMA Cars. I am not sure what to do next. I want to be released from the loan, without a repossession. And I don’t want it to show up for as a repossession. I want to be reimbursed for all my car payments and my 2005 Beetle that I paid $7000.00 for and they only took the trade for $2000. And also for lost wages at work which was 4,000.00. I used vehicle for work. I am a traveling stylist and I need a consistent running vehicle. This vehicle has been a nightmare. He keeps giving me broken promises in writing and they are not getting fulfilled. It has impacted my finances and mental anxiety of my car constantly breaking down. I would like to sue for lost wages and mental stress. And plus the value of the car $16,000.00.

Daughter and I had loan on a car, car was vandalized and totaled out. Our insurance paid the car and there was a balance left of $1599. We realized we never filed a claim with Gap insurance so we did that and it took a little time to get a response and they said they're not paying anything because we had deferred payments which was the remaining balance. My daughter deferred 2 payments, GM is giving different answers about the balance. One customer service rep claims the 2 deferred payments count as 4, another customer service rep told me she deferred 4 payments total.

Meanwhile they reported the loan 60 days late and after trying to explain the reason we didn't make any payments (the Gap insurance issue), they refuse to withdraw the 60 day late when told I will pay the $1599 right away. I'm at my wit's end as to how to find out how many deferred payments my daughter actually made and why the total is $1599. Also want to have the 60 day late removed otherwise if that is going to sit on my credit for years to come, why should I bother paying the balance at all. On top of all of that they had me on hold 1.5 hours, I finally get someone to try to pay the balance and she tells me they will charge me money to pay the balance on the automated system, W T F??? Horrible, horrible company, would NEVER EVER, with a gun to my head, buy a car and finance through them. If anyone can help me figure out what to do, email me '**'. Thanks.

Involved in an accident in a leased GM vehicle. Vehicle declared a total loss and promptly paid off lease by Geico insurance to GM Financial as the lienholder. All the funds were paid in one check, including the excess amount which is to be used for the down payment on a new car. GM Financial says they will be holding the funds until 60 days while it clears their "accounting department". Seriously? I will be without a car for 60 days while they take their sweet time. If I was 60 days late with my lease payment they would be sending me letters, calling me, reporting me to credit agencies, and ruining my credit. But if GM Financial is late 60 days they suffer no consequences.

This is my second leased GM vehicle. I was going to lease a third GM vehicle, but I am now seriously reconsidering this option if I have to deal with this spurious outfit again. What gives GM Financial? You promptly cashed the check from Geico weeks ago. I would expect a reasonable turnaround of 2 weeks to process, not 8. Just pay me my money now!

Leased a Chevy Cruze June 2016 in Santa Fe New Mexico under a 2 year, 30,000 mile contract for $240 a month. July 2017 my business opportunity in New Mexico went away and moved the lease car back to Illinois and tried to get the required paperwork to get Illinois License Plates. GM Financial online Messaging Service just gave incorrect information and I had to repeatedly call the service desk at 800-369-5212. The service desk kept giving me the runaround until December 2017, I finally asked for a supervisor and was able to get the paperwork I needed to Illinois license plate. I honestly believe that GM Financial did this on purpose to reduce the miles at end of lease.

During this time I prepaid my lease so that at the end of 2017, I had paid all the monthly payments. At the end of the lease I turned in the car with 25,000 miles giving GM back 5,000 on a 30,000 lease contract. A couple weeks later I get a GM Financial letter saying I owe $423.50, I was flabbergasted - so I called the GM support number 800-369-5212 and they told me the charge was because I did not get a new GM Lease or buy a GM Product and that was part of the lease contract. (I find this very deceptive - I was not aware of this clause.)

I complained that I had prepaid the lease and turned it back in with 5,000 mile less than what the lease contract allow, mostly due to the fact that I could not get the Illinois License Plate due to GM Financial lack of support. They agreed to reduce the amount to $100 and promised to send a letter and a email which I did not receive. I kept calling asking for the letter and they kept telling me that they had sent it twice. At the beginning of August 2018, I check my credit scores and find that they dipped from 825 to 803 and could not understand why until I check the details and found that GM Financial had reported to the three credit bureau that I had a one time monthly payment of $423 as of 12/31/2017. What is frustrating is that GM Financial could not have known that I was not going to renew my lease of buy a GM Product on 12/31/2017 as I still had 6 more months left on the lease.

I immediately call the GM Financial Help Desk and told them about the issue. They told me that I was always in late in my payments and to take the matter up with the credit bureau. To maintain my credit score I paid the $423 through the Western Union Call in Payment Option on Tuesday August 7th, 2018 and then called the GM Financial Help Desk again to complain this time that promised that all I owed was the $100 and on Wed August 8th, 2018 I finally got the letter and would get a $323 refund.

After I made sure my $423 Payment had cleared I called GM Financial at their Lease Loss Recovery Unit 855-719-9688 on Wed August 8th, 2018 and was told I had to wait 48 hours from my Tuesday call for a resolution. After the 48 hours was up I call again Thursday Aug 9th, 2018 to see the status, I was passed from the Lease Loss Recovery Unit to the Refund Unit only to be told that the Lease Loss Recovery Unit had not processed the refund and said that because I did not pay the $100 before Aug 1st 2018 the total reverted back to $423. After reading other review on ConsumerAffairs, I believe that these practices are part of the normal culture and business practices for GM Financial. You would do well to stay away.

I try to make a long story short: our GMC Yukon lease ended beginning May 2018; this lease contract is signed together with a co-signee, so far. I had several calls with GM FL and received all details on how to proceed the buy off of our truck. All set on that. Went in time to the dealer, he called GM FL; all details OK at this moment. He prepared all documents, I made the full payment of the residual value, incl. sales taxes! The amount was financed, all set. The dealer sent his dealer check to GM FL, they received the check on May 10, 2018; the check was cashed just one day later May 11, 2018; I got copies of both the received check and the cashed check! You may ask why...?

I got several letters “you have to return the truck, etc. etc.” and I have to either pay the rate or extend the lease. I had several call to customer service and every time I received the same response: "WE DO NOT SEE ANY PAYMENT FROM ANY DEALER! We are sorry!" So, first payment due, second payment due and overdue and so on; the best now: NOTICE OF DEFAULT, RIGHT TO CURE, AND INTENT TO REPOSSESS! This is the second letter with that headline; I received this second letter August 3, 2018, dated August 1, 2018, showing me overdue payments, a total of more than $1,500.00 to be paid latest Sept 4, 2018, telling me on pain of penalties what will happen. These letters are issued from GM FL Collection Department!

So what can I do??? I received a letter from GM FL Recovery Department, dated August 15, 2018 confirming that “...THE ACCOUNT HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL AS OF 6/15/2018...” At least 5 weeks after GM FL cashed the check! Good news? Yes and no as I received another call just 3 days later from Customer Service, there is no payment, what do I want to do with the truck, returning or...? And now, 6 weeks later, I receive ongoing the mentioned letter, immediate call and reach finally Collection Department, and the lady could confirm that she cannot see any payment in their system (WHICH SYSTEM? There is NO system!).

At the end of a one hour call, explaining that both my co-signee and my credit history dropped extremely, the worst experience I ever had, with the information that she apologizes for all what happened (do we get a higher credit score for that?) and asked to call back this week Friday August 10, 2018. I keep you updated; any recommendation what to do, how, etc. really welcome! BTW: I did not receive any title yet; the first one GM FL sent to the dealer had to be returned by the dealer to GM FL as it was the title of my other truck (GM Silverado).

GM Financial has damaged my credit. From August until November of 2016, GMF reported to TransUnion, Equifax and Experian that I was "on time" with my payments for a car loan. However, GMF reported I was late in December 2016 and January 2017. For a loan supposedly opened in August 2016? Trouble is: I DID have a GMF loan in 1994 and it was paid off a decade ago! I found out the VIN for the car in question. It was involved in a California "lemon law" lawsuit! GMF was forced to take it back! But best of all: I was never in possession of the vehicle in question... EVER. I never even physically touched the vehicle in the erroneous GMF report! Plus, I never paid GMF on the loan they were reporting! This was never my loan!

The report that I was "on time" with payments was incorrect also, again, I never paid GMF on the loan they were reporting to the credit bureaus! I did and still do have a loan from a CREDIT UNION, for a car of a completely different year and manufacturer than GMF claims! I opened that one and only vehicle loan in the SPRING of 2016 with a CREDIT UNION, not GMF. I never asked GMF for a loan on my car, I applied with my Credit Union only! I have not owned two vehicles since a divorce in 2014. TransUnion has removed the erroneous GMF report from my credit report, however the other two "clown" credit bureaus refuse. GMF is of no help.

I've had a horrible experience with the UX on GM Financial. A misunderstanding on GM Financial's online billing page over the course of several months led to two bad marks on my credit score, even though I tried to pay in a timely manner and had the funds to do so. Over the course of 2-3 months, when I went to pay and finally got to the payment page, the website said my balance due was $0.00, which was confusing. I received no (zero, none, nil) communication from GM Financial that I had outstanding payments due, either by email, phone, or mail.

When I confronted customer service about this they claimed they would not remove the delinquency payments because I had other avenues to pay, which I was unaware of because GM Financial had not done their job as a company and reminded me that I had payments due. Additionally, I have had to schedule monthly payments three different times in order for it to work. Very bad website, cost me a good credit score. Leaves me with a bad taste about GM Financial and I'd be hard pressed to return to the company after my lease and I'd encourage other potential customers to choose other auto companies as well.

Watch out when leasing, GM Financial has a very high lease termination fee. I compared to other makes equal in value and they are half the amount! If it were for the fact that I waited 2 months to order this vehicle (Cadillac Escalade) I would have told GM to you know what... No upfront disclosure, wait for the order and get jammed in the F&I office. Many reasons I find GM full of themselves!!

I leased a Buick through GM but returned it to purchase a new Chevy Equinox. Both the lease and the new purchase were through GM Financial. I thought I canceled my auto pay for the leased Buick but for some reason it did not take and it took $308 from my account. I immediately contacted GM and inquired if there was a possibility to move the funds as a payment toward the new vehicle. I was told it was possible, but would take 5-7 days to process. This was 6/28/18. On 7/7/18 I called again to see what the status of the transfer was only to be told that the first rep screwed up the transfer. This rep once again told me that she would process the request and it would take 5-7 days for the payment to transfer.

My new car payment was due 7/10/18 and she said I had a 10 day grace period so that I would have plenty of time for the funds to be moved. On 7/19/18, I called yet again. This person told me that a call had been placed to my husband on 7/17/18 and that it would take 30-45 days for the payment to be moved and that I needed to make a separate payment for the new vehicle ($375). I was upset... They already had my money in another account, and it astounded me that it would take so long when we live in a digital world. I asked to speak with a manager and was, after a several minute waiting period, transferred to the "manager's" voicemail. I requested someone contact me, but never heard back.

After leaving my message, I called my husband to see if he received such phone call and he said he didn't. There was not even an unknown number on 7/17/18 (It was his work number and he answers all his calls). I left a message on GM's financial complaint website on 7/19/18 (after speaking with my husband) asking them to honor the original timeframe that I heard from not one, but two individuals, or start the 30-45 day process retroactive to my first call. RADIO SILENCE. I left another message on their complaint website on 7/24/18 and still nothing. I will never, ever do business with GM Financial again. Their customer service is horrendous.

I never had any problems with GM Financial - they always were very helpful. Today I called 800-284-2271 and spoke with Michelle. This is the worst ever customer service representative! She did not pay attention to what I am saying (it seemed like she was reading something and didn't listen to me). I asked a simple question: I am moving back to CA. My lease ended and I returned my Tahoe to the dealer. I did not received a bill with disposition fee yet. I asked when it will be sent because the post office where I live is not forwarding mails well - I still receive mails for previous tenant! I just need to know if I will receive it before I moved out or later.

She was bossy and not helpful at all. She did not offer me an option, just interrupted me in a very bossy way! Really? I ended up by OFFERING A SOLUTION! This is not acceptable! I did not get any help from a person who should be interested in helping me, a customer! I was thinking about getting a new Tahoe but will not. I do not believe I deserve such an attitude only because my lease is ended. Very disappointing... Thanks for ruining my day, GM Financial!

I turned in my lease 4 months early. The dealer stated I only had one payment left, which didn't make sense, and told me I would receive a refund from GM Financial when the car sold. I have been calling GM Financial constantly and their customer service is beyond awful. I requested a fax of my payment history and I received a cover page and no other data. When I called back, I was told that they don't fax that information and that it would need to come in the mail. I receive it and it clearly showed 2 overpayments made throughout the lease.

So, no one bothered to even check my payment history during my first 5 calls and then I was told, they received all of their payments so I need to get the reimbursement from the dealer. It is clear, I made 2 overpayments and I am out about $800 and they refuse to help me in any way, shape or form. I even reached out to the Corporate offices of GM Financial and they wanted nothing to do with the issue. I will NEVER lease with GM Financial again.

I've called at least 50 times each time promising to get answers and not once not one person has helped me out of the 50 times + I've called. I will NEVER use GM Financial again, and will always hold a negative persona of the organization. No one wants to help me and all I wanted was a closeout letter. I finally got an email today 7-16-18 that said I was behind on payments on a lease I no longer have. How does that happen? Then I called and was told I owed $800 and a supervisor would call me back. It's been 2 days and I still haven't got a call back. The first attendant I talked to said I owed $18.00 the second time I was transferred it was $400 and the third $800, how come no one knows anything yet they're charging me anyways. I'm expected to pay $800 for car I traded in as a lease back in December of last year?

Not one person at GM Financial has been helpful or nice to talk to and I will never recommend them to anyone. I would never want anyone else to go through this for trading in a simple lease. It has been nothing but a horrible experience every time I reach out to them and I am no closer to an answer now then I was 166 days ago!! VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! One Star is one star too many. -10 Star. GM Financial has completely botched my Excellent Credit Score with the horrible management of this financial Company. Their invoices for our truck lease started arriving in January with the wrong amount on it. Much lower. 5% of the total amount. We thought we’d overpaid so we paid the amount invoiced. Find out later after they botched my credit score their software was the reason and this continued for 4 months. We tried countless times to call them starting in January and when you requested to speak to a representative on the automated menu the phone line immediately hung up on us. Over and over and over for 3-4 months.

In April I started getting calls on my cell phone from Arlington TX but they’d never leave a message!! Why would you not leave a message? After a month of this I answered one day. IT WAS GM FINANCIAL. It’s now May. They can call me but I can’t call them? They told me that they had software issues and I had a letter explaining it. Since January. The letter was difficult for me to understand. I tried to call for clarity. That’s not happening. Hung up on. Told them I paid the invoice amount for 3 months and finally started paying full amount in April plus the difference for those 3 months because I couldn’t get ANYONE ON THE PHONE. She asked when I’d have the full amount current. Told her by the time my May payment was due the entire account would be current. This was 3 weeks before it was due and I gave her the amounts and dates. Everything was going to be paid.

Please remember I’m still receiving invoices for 5% of the actual payment. But I’m now paying up knowing full well it was all going to come back and be due someday?!? She told me GM wasn’t reporting to the credit bureaus through all of this because of the mess GM had created on their own. But none of this would affect my credit score. Liars. I’m now shown late April and May although the full payments were all made for those months plus additional payments in advance.

Dropped my score over 60 points!! Was promised by representative that my score would not be affected.

GM Financial President Bob Beatty also promised in a press release in Automotive News that no customers would be affected by this debacle. Again...liar. Really wanted a new GMC Terrain for my wife. For more than one reason we didn’t...but the primary reason was GM Financial. Now in a new Mazda CX-5. Buyers beware of who’s financing your GM purchase. Really a horrible mess in that outfit.

I paid off my loan and wanted to get the title as quickly as possible. I logged into the GM Financial site and used the Messenger service to talk with Joseph about getting my title sent next day FedEx at my expense. He assured me that it would not be a problem if I created a FedEx account and sent and address to cxo.resolution@gmfinancial.com with my FedEx account number and request that they send it to me next day service. The title was released June 23 with a send date of June 27. Come June 27 FedEx had no record of any shipment to my home. Again on Messenger center with Mallory he told me that because the Title department had to pull the title and send it FedEx (non standard shipper) so the send date was postponed to June 28.

Again, on June 28 FedEx had no record of a shipment to me. Talked with Korina the next day and she assured me it would be sent no later than the next day. Like a recurring nightmare FedEx had no record of the shipment and I was informed by Necolette that it would be several days as the Release Department and the Title Department worked final details before they would send it. Later that day I was told it was shipped at 2PM. Chorus line: FedEx had no record of anything shipped to me. At no time during all of this was a tracking number provided, even when I requested it several times.

Either the Messenger assistants were deliberately lying to me or they were being told to do so by their management. Being lied to is not my idea of good customer service. Unfortunately, I am at the mercy of GM Financial and their cynical attitude. My recommendation is to not use GM Financial if you can avoid them. I recently was able to purchase a 2018 Chevy Cruze which I'm very proud of. However I pay all my bills on my phone through online apps. When I went to go pay my first car payment to GM Financial I accidentally hit the wrong button twice and the computer thought I was paying for two months. As soon as that called and talked to the lady right after I did it. I explained to her that I accidentally hit the button twice. I wasn't sure it went through the first time and I wanted to make sure it went through so I called and the lady I talked to you was supposed to cancel it out but when I called back she managed to leave no notes about that part. So needless to say when I called back there was no notes of her canceling it and then they pulled it out the second time which put me negative $425 in my bank account plus the $35 overdraft charge.

I called GM Financial once again and said I just called the week ago about this all. "We can't do nothing. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I said, "Yes." I said, "But now I got a $35 overdraft charge. I'm negative in my bank account." I said, "I have other bills that need to be ** paid that cannot get paid now." "Oh I apologize. It's not our fault on our end so we can't reimburse it." A week later after numerous phone calls they did it again and cost me another 400 something and yet another $35 overdraft charge. Mind you that's 70 bucks in 2 weeks coming from a guy that just bought a 2018 car and lives paycheck-to-paycheck. So the final phone call today was basically tapsilog, "Sorry we can't do it. It's not our fault," and I find it extremely pathetic that a company is willing to ruin a relationship over $70 that they can reimburse after numerous phone calls tell him what happened.

I somehow need to find out if I can switch finance companies or get the car with a credit union. I don't want to deal with GM Financial no more. I think they're scumbags. I think they're ripoffs. Over 70 bucks they're going to lose a customer and the part that pisses me off I called numerous times since the day I hit that button twice. It wasn't like I let it go for a month and then brought it up. I called numerous times from the day I did it and I pretty much got the same thing sorry without saying that you're pretty much ** is their attitude. I would recommend nobody going to GM Financial. If you're with them run. I'm going to try to.

GM Financial has had reporting issues since Dec of 2017 when they acquired a new system. GM reported my account as 1 payment behind before their system went down and "stopped" reporting as they were having issues with their system. This issue caused incorrect reporting to all three of the major credit agencies. TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. All three bureaus were showing I hadn't made a payment on my account since November of 2017 in the months of Jan- May 2018. This killed my credit score! After speaking to numerous reps at their "Corporate" office and going back and forth for months, being told the problem should be fixed in 2 weeks I don't know how many different times and filing disputes with all three credit bureaus to prove my account was current and payment had been made things FINALLY seemed to be showing correct with the Credit Bureaus.

Fast forward about a month, Around May 22nd when they finally started reporting again to the bureaus... And my account is showing a zero balance with one of the agencies with a CLOSED/SOLD status. It shows they sold my account and I am in default! I found this out when I applied for a home loan and my credit took a dive again! This has been an absolute nightmare! Now I have to dispute with the credit bureau AGAIN. I did speak with a rep from GM Financial who assured me they would get a letter out right away - I can't wait to see how long it takes to get it this time. This has caused me so much extra stress in my life. If anyone has contacted an attorney please advise as I would love to make them accountable for the stress and headache this has caused in my life.

I have been a loyal customer of Chevrolet since 2006. I made the mistake of going to a different dealership closer to my home to lease my 2017 Trax. When I took out my lease in July the company was called the Acar company. Then apparently there was a transfer of accounts to GM Financial. In the process of this account payments were credited and deleted just one giant mess. I was told in numerous letters that the process of transferring was done and that my account was in good standing only to be told later that I had apparently missed a payment. At that time I was told that I missed a payment in Nov. Dec. and now that the payment was actually missed in March. No one seemed to know the truth and I became very upset because I have been a customer for years and never had a late or missed payment.

As I was trying to get this all straightened out and make my payments this company decided to ruin my credit by reporting my account overdue when in fact it was their fault that this problem had started in the first place. This company does not care about their loyal customers and has destroyed the credit of many which seems to be its only goal. As an NJEA member and a hard working person I will no longer deal with this company or Chevrolet. I will let my fellow union members know to be very careful if they have a need to deal with these two horrible companies.

At the beginning of the year, GM Financial shut down for a few days to do some kind of update to their system, and since then it’s been a nightmare. In February I got a call from them saying I was two months behind in my car payments. So I called back and spoke to a representative and they went over my payment history with me and said everything looks up to date and they aren’t sure why it’s saying I’m late.

And now, I’m trying to move and buy a house, and my credit score came back low and the main reason given was that GM Financial was reporting that my account was delinquent back in December (it never was) and they haven’t updated the credit bureaus since December. So I called today and talked to someone, they said they are aware of the problem, and started fixing it in early May, but it won’t reflect on my account until June, and could take 30-60 days for it to cycle to the credit bureaus.

So essentially for the entire summer my credit score can’t go down because of their system’s mistake and they say there’s nothing they can do about it at this point except send me a letter saying my account is up to date to pass on to my mortgage lender so they can pass it on to the credit bureaus and see if they accept it and rescore my credit based on it. This is completely unacceptable, and if the credit bureaus don’t accept the letter, my interest rate on my loan will be nearly a full point higher than it would be without their mistake causing it to be higher, which translates to over $100/month. So needless to say, if I do end up with the higher interest rate, I will be suing GM Financial for whatever the difference in price will be over the term of the loan (at $100/month that would be $36,000).

Updated on 07/26/2019: I was notified early July by GM Financial claiming I owed a payment. This surprised me, because I am currently enrolled in automatic payments for this account and it it linked to a bank account so there should be no issues transferring the money. After I received a voicemail from GM about making a payment, I went online and saw that my account with them had somehow gone delinquent for a missed payment. I went ahead and paid what was owed and also paid for the next month. I never received any GM's autopay system was not working. A quick check of my credit score revealed that GM had reported a delinquent account and my score had gone from a 780 to a the mid 600's overnight.

A quick search of online reviews revealed that I am not the only customer that has been impacted by GM's inability to take payments correctly in recent history. Additionally this is the SECOND TIME that this same error has occurred as my account was marked delinquent in winter of 2018 causing the same issues. Avoid GM Financial if you can, they will ruin your credit, and after they do good luck getting ahold of anyone to fix this issue!

Original review: I wish to report the GM Financial has absolutely no respect or concern for its customers. I received notice in December 2017 that my monthly payment had not been received for my 2017 Chevy Trax. This concerned me as my account has been set up for auto-pay and every single payment has been made on time. This was followed shortly after by receiving another letter that GM's system was receiving maintenance and that all payments had to be sent in by mail. As soon as I received this, the check was then sent to GM. In January I came to realize what GM Financial had done when I applied for a Mortgage and my credit score came back low - for over a year I maintained a score between 720-730. When I asked what had happened, it appeared GM Financial had marked my account as delinquent for a missed payment and as a result this had completely changed my credit.

I called their helpline for the next repeatedly for the next week and kept receiving an automatic response that all lines were busy and to go online for assistance. This was a dead end as well since no response was received from messages sent. Finally, I called our dealership and explained the problem and was given a number to call a GM Financial representative directly. I then called him and explained the situation to him to which he responded that this system update had caused a lot of customers the same issue and that it would be resolved. Additionally, I sent copies to the representative demonstrating proof that all payments were made and in fact was overpaid by a month.

It has now been over three months and a further review of my credit score shows that no changes have been made. I have asked kindly that this problem be fixed but I have no confidence that it will. This has resulted in me being unable to apply for an apartment lease or a reasonable mortgage because of my low credit score. GM Financial does not seem to mind if you are a good customer who honors your contract and makes payments in full and on time. The lack of care and attention I have received from any representative in this matter is appalling and I am happy to post this in public because potential buyers need to be aware of how poorly you will be treated if you lease a car from GM. -

I moved to a new state over the last 3 weeks and was astonished to find out that GM was reporting my car in "Repossession Status" for not having made a payment since November of 2017. This mistake resulted in me having to pay an extra $1100 deposit for an apartment rental. I talked with GM and they said they would update my credit report to reflect the incorrect information.

GM updating their incorrect reporting does not raise my score back up, nor will it, any time soon. I called and talked with a manager today because I feel I should be compensated for the $1100.00 I had to spend that was purely the result of their inaccurate reporting. I was told that was probably not going to happen because they have to abide by the terms of my loan agreement. I mentioned that GM never gave anyone notice there may be negative impacts on our credit and many people still are unaware of what has happened. I am not sure what will come out of this but I cannot believe this may be allowed and even if they correct the reporting on our credit reports it will talk months to gain back the points we lost.

Well 7 days later still nothing. No apologies from GM and no change on my credit score. So now I have to get back on the phone to get this GM ** sorted. We leased our third GMC vehicle through GM Financial in April 2017. In July of 2017 they cashed a payment and didn’t apply the funds to our account. After dealing with over ten different people, names and ID numbers recorded, GM was still unable to find our money. We had to go to the bank not once but three times to collect and fax a copy of the cashed check.

We thought this nightmare had ended in November when it seemed the payment was found. Payments continued to be withdrawn from our bank account and cashed on time every month. We received a letter from collections in March and then a REPO notice in April and lo and behold since GM changed their billing address without notifying us, once again our payments that have been cashed ON TIME are not being applied to our account. It took a tremendous amount of time and effort to get a supervisor who swore up and down that she would help us and the calls and emails have been continuous for the past few weeks to no avail. Our credit report still reflects late payments and has dropped tremendously in the past weeks. This company is corrupt. Do NOT use this company.

I obtained a loan from GM Financial in September of 2017, a $29,000 loan for $476.99 a month for 72 months. In November of 2017 I requested a payoff amount. Every since I requested the payoff, they have stopped reporting my payments to the credit bureau. It makes me look 5 payments behind on my loan plus my credit report shows me owing $2500 more than I really owe. The company stopped reporting my payments to reduce my credit score so I could not obtain a loan from another company.

This is a huge rip off scam being used by this company. I think an investigation is in order. When I confronted them about the issue, they said they stopped reporting because of "errors". Please stop these people from doing this. It is highly profitable for this company to use this practice because it keeps their customers buried in the same loan and because of the misreporting, it limits customers ability to obtain new loans as their credit scores don't reflect payments made.

Since September 2017 I have been working hard to repair my credit to get a mortgage this year. Well needless to say this company has not reported since December 2017 which in turn looks like I have not made any payments all year 2018. All payments have been made and my account is up to date.

I have called them several times asking to update my credit score. By mysteriously there is no live person to talk to that can fix this. I have called and emailed with no results. This has caused a 100 point drop in my credit score therefore I was denied a mortgage because they fail to report to the credit bureaus. How hard is it to report. Your system has been up and running for months. You have no problem reporting people when they are so called late. This company is terrible and I will never deal with them again. I will continue to report them to as many places as possible until someone sitting in an office clicks a button and updated my credit report and ensures that it is accurate. I have paid off over 10000 in debt in the last six months and saved just as much all for them to single handedly ruin my credit score. What a joke.

The dealership decided to purchase that truck from GM financial but instead, they called me collecting on an account that I was done with, reported I gave back and moved on to Ally finance. They reported me 30 days late on a payment that didn't exist! The dealership got in contact with their rep who contacting them to fix. They were supposed to fix and this was 2017 October when I gave truck back, it is 2018 March. It dropped my score in December 30-40 points. I called them, I complained, they kept promising to adjust.

No one person knew what the other was doing! One supervisor told me it was my fault that the truck was returned timely, reported to them, but sat on dealer’s lot. Huh? You all should've picked up! I filed a complaint with Michigan attorney general and I have GM removing the bad reporting 03/8, reporting negative again on 03/21, removing on 3/22 and reported negative again on 04/06. I received papers from Attorney General where GM told them it was corrected last week. And now I am just going to sue them for stress. This is the worst finance company and I have been leasing since 1996, I miss GMAC. This is a subprime company that took over for people with A1 credit and they don't know what they are doing! I have been dealing with noncustomer service since last August (2017). To recap, we leased a 2016 Buick Encore in July 2016. We had no issues until August 2017 when we received what we thought was an incorrect billing. We contacted them and we were informed the additional $275 added to that statement was for City of Warwick Taxes. I asked them to send us a copy as we had never received a notice like this before. That individual did send a copy of the tax bill and I verified it with our City. My husband's name doesn't appear on that bill only the Vehicle ID and with that information I sent 2 checks in with the next billing statement. I made a copy of the Tax bill and added a separate check for it and then also enclosed a check for our normal payment.

Ever since then, we keep getting robo calls from their computer asking us to call. When I called the first time, I was told I was past Due. I told that individual that that was not possible. She said yes it was because we didn't pay the proper amount. When I asked her to explain she said I was not paying enough. I pay more than what is due each month for the base payment, so that couldn't be possible. She said she went and checked with someone and when she came back she told me it was because I had sent in 2 checks the previous month and it wasn't enough. I told her she needed to go back and research that again because 1 check was for the Base payment and the other was for the tax bill they had previously sent. She said she would document our phone call and have someone contact me the next day.

Since then, I have been receiving robo calls from their computer. I have made 2 more calls to them and spoke to two different individuals Tesha ID#** and her supervisor Hailey ID#** who said to send me a fax with the information and they would put a hold on the robo calls until they got this sorted out and would call me once that had been done. I faxed them on 1/25/2018 at 15:21 pm. As you can see, a lot of time has been used up by me to take care of this situation and it is still happening because I am again getting these random robo calls daily and still getting incorrect bills. I have made a spreadsheet showing all the payments sent to GM from the very first payment.

I also told them that in January they instituted an ACH tracking system for how they handle receiving payments on their end and that apparently doesn't work well either as they informed me this month that I had a late payment reversed because of something on their end (noted on their billing statement-not a live person) but the item they referred to as being late was in fact received from them 5 days earlier than the date they stated. The banks timestamp their receipt of processing withdrawals from a customer's checking and it appears on my checking statement.

I was so exasperated this month that I again sent what they are due and another copy of my spreadsheet for them to refer to with a letter stating that their computer system should recognize when a live person answers the phone not to leave a blanket recording and just send it to a customer service person. Because that is was is happening now with their New and improved computer system. I pay my bills each month, and I have no intention of letting some Giant company tell me otherwise. No customer representative has ever reached out to me directly. That is just poor business practice. I do know that when this lease is up, we are going to go back to Ford products because we do not intend to have to deal with any vehicles that are handled by GM Financial Leasing.

GM Financial is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The past 5 months I have literally been in perdition. Hopefully I can save someone else from the hassle of dealing with a... ** company!! I’ve learned that auto loans can be easy/hard to come by. I suggest to shop around. Review the product. Most of the times interest rates are based off credit scores. A company can make it sound like a great deal, leaving you to believe there is no other option/bank willing to do the same. There are many companies willing to work/help. I purchased an auto loan a couple years ago through GM financial. No issues. No complaints. I eventually traded off the vehicle for a new shiny object. I decided to go through a different bank; with a better interest rate.

A another year went by, my husband decided to purchase a new truck. We decided to work with GM financial. As they helped me in the past (loan/boost in credit score/etc). Life happened! Eventually life ended in a repo. Huge dive in credit score (as it should be. That happens). We couldn’t afford the remainder of the auction balance, or whatever/however that crap works. We tried working out a payment plan. Negative results. And, lack of advice. Besides... “Should have made your payments”… yea I know, wish I wasn’t laid off and making less on my unemployment.

Time goes on… Life turns around. We can pay our dues in large monthly installments. Not good enough. GM financial takes us to court and sues for the balance. (We are not opposed of the situation by any means. We messed up. Take full responsibility. And, fought to get back on top.) GM financial won in court. My husband and I did not even try to fight it. We offered monthly installments. They wanted to go after our tax returns. Whatever. Take them. We can wash our hands and be done. This is May of 2017.

My husband and I decided to save those “large monthly payments” and pay off the debt collector/law firm before tax season rolled around. Mission accomplished!! We ALL (GM financial, Debt collector/lawyer included) agreed on a settled lump sum amount. Payment went through on 10/30/17. Submitted to the courthouse and signed off that we are free and clear. I thought “life” would move on.

WRONG!!! Can’t buy a vehicle. Can’t buy a house. Can’t even get a credit card to JCPenny lol. Credit score is fair. So… problem... There is a huge debt on our credit report. (Yes, I waited for the full 30-60 day bullcrap time to update the system) GM financial refuses to update the credit agencies. I called in December 2017. GMF said they will update, as they have a zero balance on their end. They update the wrong info. Stating there is a remanding balance. I called GM financial in January 2018. Zero balance. I asked for a letter stating this information. Never came. Still reporting to the credit agency that we are in default. February comes and GM financial is still screwing me around. Falsely reporting. (They could easily report the account closed and settle in less than full… along with their negative missed payment reports. Maybe, report the correct info??).

I have disputed this issue with all 3 credit agencies. GMF is MIA. No dispute back. Kinda burnt out. I decided to hire someone (Great credit repair company!!) I submitted every court document (GMF lawyer/debt collector provided me with every piece of paper I need to fight this) bank statement, and phone records (hours on “hold” and being jacked around).

Not sure how the court of law works, but it would be nice to countersue. Isn’t that what people do know of days?? (Sarcastically speaking) I had to pay their fees for my mistake. The lost of the remainder balance of the auction. Their lawyer/court fees. They should pay me back for fixing their end of the deal ???? I recommend researching a company before purchasing a product. Wish I would have years ago. I did not realize GMF is full of 1 star reviews. Today, I was just “Google stalking” GMF, while soaking my sorrows in a cup of coffee. Thought I could add my bad experience to the list.

GM Financial is the worst company that I have ever done business with. After 4 months and countless phone calls, my accounts (I have 3) are still inaccurate. They owe me money and will not pay. They blame the dealership for not grounding the car in question and the dealership has provided documentation otherwise. I get a different story each and every time and it appears that there is no accountability. A different person responds each time if you're lucky enough to not get a busy signal or cut off. They blame everything on a "change over". How long does a change over take. And why are so many dealership fed up with it. GM Financial... read the reviews... we don't lie... YOU ALL DO!!! Although I was a few days late on some payments, I was always within the grace period, always paid the full amount, and frequently paid early. I always took care of them. My lease is about to expire - I made the last payment - and they will not approve another lease for the same amount. I have been a good customer to them and now they won't deal with me.

They were very nice, very polite, nevertheless, my good deal turned out to be less good by $495 two years later. I'm going to tell my friends about my experience and anyone who listens. My bank requested a copy of the electronically cashed check and my account was updated to reflect the payment - it was still two days after my due date and 8 days after the check had cleared my bank. I am, however, thankful that it was updated and that I can continue with the purchase of my next auto from Chevy. The salesperson I am working with informed me that GM Financial does not handle their outright sales loans, only leases.

    Original Review: Jan. 9, 2018

Something seems suspicious with GM Financial's MyAccount, at least for me. My lease end date is just a few months away. Emails from GM Financial: 12/21/17 - MyAccount will be unavailable beginning 12/29/18 - 1/5/18. 12/27/17 - MyAccount will be unavailable beginning Friday. 1/5/18 - Account servicing updates are delayed. I use MyAccount, to make my payment a few days early (it is due on the 10th of the month), however, when I tried to do it before their outage, they wouldn't allow me to post date it past the outage date (all other previous payments allowed it). So I had to mail it in. No problem. 12/30/17, done. My payment cleared my bank on January 4. Super, right? Sure, if GM Financial had posted it on their side... but it still shows I have a payment due for 1/10/18! Not only did someone screw up posting it to my account, they processed it as an e-check payment - which I did not even authorize.

So I spent 29 minutes on hold and 15 minutes talking to someone who clearly didn't know what was what, who told me to fax (then told me to email) a copy of my cancelled check - and that they wouldn't look into it until they received proof that I made my payment. She also told me that the company is trying to eliminate some middle-man payment processor and that is part of what is changing there (Is this my problem, as the consumer? I don't think so, do you?). Some interesting notes. I wrote the check to GM FINANCIAL. The person who processed it (and obviously did not post it to my GM FINANCIAL account, sent it through as to US LEASING ORIGI rather than GM FINANCIAL as I wrote the check. I have just under an 800 credit rating that I work hard to maintain and this really ticks me off.

As I am writing this, I received another email from GM Financial: 1/9/18 Servicing Systems are back online. The gist of the email is this: "Review your next statement carefully. Late fees charged during the outage, from Dec. 30 to Jan. 8, will be removed. Please call us as soon as possible if you see an erroneous late fee. Also, check your contract. It may allow a period of time during which you are not assessed a late fee. Will this outage affect your credit history? Rest assured, we are committed to not letting this system upgrade affect your credit history in any way. Like all responsible financial institutions, we report non-payment on accounts after 30 days. Any accounts that reached 30 days past due during our outage, which began Dec. 30, 2017, will not be reported past due if payment is received prior to Friday, January 12, 2018."

My payment is due 1/10/18, but was already cashed and went back to my bank on 1/4/18. There is no mention about a scenario where the outage didn't make my payment late, but rather seemed to send it into oblivion. I know I paid it, the bank knows I paid it, and something called US LEASING ORIGI knows I paid it, but GM Financial doesn't because US LEASING ORIGI apparently did not send the message, for lack of better explanation. I am trying to set up my next car deal (through Chevy again) and they think I have an extra payment due because of this, which goes into the loan amount. This is really frustrating. Perhaps I won't close the deal after all if this is how a financial giant handles their financial situation. Unbelievable.

After having 4 cars from GMC and financing just 1 of them with GM Financial I couldn’t be more disappointed. My lease was a total loss a few months ago; our payment was up to date. We had GAP insurance which happens to also conveniently be with GM. After the car was totaled which based on the insurance wasn’t my fault everything should have been zero out and worked out between the insurance company and the GAP like in any other situations with a total loss (of course if you have a GAP insurance which we did). Well, my story is completely different and at this point disappointment is a very small word for how I feel.

First of all, we have a paper where it was stated that in case there was a total loss we could get reimburse some money from the GAP which never happened because the check was sent to the dealership and since GM is also the GAP insurance company they conveniently applied $300 and something dollars to the total amount due for the car instead of us getting that money. The dealer stated that it was something stipulated in the car contract, fine; we left it like that. One month after the accident we started receiving a bill for $460 for an “amount owed”. We called in different occasions GM financial and explained the situation and they always stated that it will be removed. This month we NOT only received a bill again but they reported it to the credit. At this point this is fraud and everything is internally being monopolized by this company working for them and against their customers.

GAP will pay whatever the insurance doesn’t cover even for a lease, if there is an “amount owed or due” should be worked between the insurance company and the GAP. The customer is NOT responsible for that amount neither the company has the right to put it on their credit report. Also, at the time of the accident when the insurance company receives a Payoff amount (is the amount owed up to that date) if there was a discrepancy of numbers it is NOT the customers' fault neither we have to pay for it but it is easier to bill the customer instead of paying that amount since they are also the GAP insurance. I really hope this gets resolved soon. I will never get another GM car neither go with GM financial again, I feel like I have been robbed. I will NOT recommend GM financial to anyone.

I logged in in November to check to see if my bill was due, since nothing had come out of my bank account as expected (I thought I set up auto pay when I signed my lease). The site said I owed $0, and my next due date would be December 12. I thought this was odd, since I had yet to pay anything, so I used the "Message us" option on the website.

So it was at first unclear whether anything was owed to GM, then the agent confirmed that I owed nothing. On Dec 1, I logged in to pay my bill (I prefer to pay bills as soon as I receive my monthly paycheck). There, I was greeted with a past due notice totaling $751. I contacted GM through the chat again, and received no response for several minutes. While I was waiting for someone to respond in chat, I called GM. I spoke to someone who repeatedly blamed me for the past due, telling me "Regardless of what the website says, you owe $367 every month on the 12," and that "the chat is always wrong."

This is not an acceptable response from customer service, and I am fairly sure is criminal. I was told quite clearly by the website and customer service representative that I owed $0 for November. I thought it was odd, I questioned it, but was told that I did not owe anything until December. There is no way I am going to pay the November bill now, just out of principle. The only option given to me to repay this amount was to split it in two and tack it onto December and January's bills or pay it all by the end of December. Oh and guess what - the site will conveniently be down December 29-Jan 5, so I can't even pay that giant bill on the last day of the month when I get my next paycheck. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN HELP IT. THEY ARE LIARS.

    Original Review: Dec. 6, 2017

Ok, so I can blame everyone involved so let's just start with the dealership, First, they screw up the paperwork for my 2018 Colorado Lease and had to make another contract. Because this took so long I did not get a statement from GM Financial until after the payment due date so I made the payment at the dealership. After getting a statement from GM I started making bill pay payments. After first payment the next statement stated I was behind in payments. I called them and checked and they were missing that payment that I had made at the dealership so I sent a copy of the receipt to them. Looking at my statement online it looked like I was up to date, I even got a call from them earlier that they were investigating. The dealership stated they would follow up on it, but I never received a call.

So as of today, I received a call from GM Financial even though I had a receipt they had never received the funds. AND that it is still late and up to me to fix... WHAT!? So I have called the dealership again and am waiting for a call. What I did learn is that GM Financial is NOT A BANK, the funds go to ACAR Leasing LLC. I suspect that those funds went directly to ACAR and made that suggestion for GM Financial to check there. It is now into the fifth month since I got the lease. What I haven't found on this site is a real method to solve this. Looks like from all the complaints I will have to sue them. IF anyone knows a proven method please write a review for all of us to see. Thanks.

Updated on 03/29/2018: The dealership has sent us a check to pay GM Financial and get up to date. THE dealership Davidson-Gebhardt has really tried to solve this. THEY will take over with dealing with GM Financial. VERY professional answer and we are very thankful. Current UPDATE; GM Financial is the "MOST" incompetent company (besides CenturyLink) that I have ever had to deal with, not only do they stick to their stupid guns, they have changed the late date. When the dealership sent me a check for that "So-called" late payment GM still would not remove the late date.

I have tried going through Experian and Transunion to challenge the late payment. Experian TWICE ruled in favor of GM F, THEN they finally allowed me (I am so thankful- NOT) to submit evidence, not a word yet. Here's the thing; these credit reporting agencies work for the "loaners" so that the loaners can charge us more interest by lowering our credit scores. DO NOT EXPECT THEM TO HELP YOU. PERIOD. Sue them, if under a thousand dollars you can process small claims lawsuit in the county of who is handling your lease. Mine happens to be in Phoenix AZ. I will be submitting a small claims to include removing my late payment on credit reporting agencies. I have all the evidence I need and will not be going to Phoenix but hoping the judge there will do their job.

The insurance company came to pick up The car. Did not evacuate it due to the fact there was thousands of vehicles that needed to be towed off. I kept in constant contact with GM Financial to let them know what was going on. Never once did they tell me that I needed to continue to pay on the car. They reported on my credit a late payment that dropped my score about 80 points. We called and asked if there was a way to get that off since I was never told we needed to pay and the lady that we spoke to was rude and told me there’s nothing that they can do even though we have never been late in a payment and obviously this is the first time I have dealt with one of my vehicles being totaled. I didn’t know what to do.

That’s just the first thing that was wrong with GM. GM kept calling saying that my insurance company hasn’t had contact with them when that was a complete lie. My insurance company was trying to get them to release the title. That way they could write them a check and GM gave them the runaround and wouldn’t release the title. I'm not the only one that had this problem. And to top it off they tried to repo the car. I haven’t had the car since hurricane Harvey hit. It’s in some field with thousands of other vehicles so good luck finding it.

My insurance company finally got the title and was able to write them a check but now getting harassed because my gap insurance hasn’t paid the remaining off. Anyone dealing with gap knows there’s a lot of paperwork you have to get done before they will pay it off. That’s hard to do when your home got flooded and two Of your vehicles got flooded and you're trying to put your life back together. I will never do business with GM Financial again.

I'm writing this review to help others who are considering using GM Financial for a loan. I would NOT use this company. I was purchasing my first vehicle and this was the only loan company that would take me. I will take the fault for not doing my research on this company before signing what feels like my life over to them. I purchased my Jeep at $21,000 and make $418 payment to GM Financial!! At the time I was engaged and my fiance at the time has a very good paying job so this payment was not high for us at the time. Things did not work out between me and my ex so we weren't are separate ways and I took the Jeep since he already had a truck. I did not make enough money on my own to afford this payment plus all of my other bills.

I explained to a GM Financial manager my situation to see if I could get my payments lowered. They did not care and said they could not help me. If I had the money I would have no problem paying them the $418 payment. Oh and side note this was not a new vehicle, it was used and a few years old. It was in good condition and only had 11,000 miles so that was a plus. The customer service I have gotten every time I have called to let them know I would be late on my payment or to see if I could get late charge taken off because let's face it a single person trying to live in this world can't afford $418 payment working a job only making $11 an hour.

GM Financial doesn't take any of this into consideration. They don't care about their customers. I want to see one of their corporate managers lose everything and see how they plan to make their payments. They would want someone to care and understand. But do you get that at GM Financial? No. You do not. So I do not recommend using them. Also customer service is horrible. I will say I had one girl who was very nice and understanding. She couldn't help me reduce my payment but she was very understanding. She is the only good thing at GM Financial.

In April of 2017 I received a toll violation from GM Financial for a vehicle that did not belong to me. I am currently leasing a 2016 Chevy Silverado and the picture they sent me was of a Chevy sedan of some sort, but definitely not a truck. The license plate was close to mine however two numbers short and again not my vehicle. Seeing the mistake I tossed the paper and carried on. When I went to pay my monthly bill in May I had noticed that it was nearly $300 more than it usually was. Concerned I contacted GM Financial to get some answers. The first person told me it was from toll violations I had and didn't pay so GM had paid them on my behalf and now I was responsible for paying them back. When I told them I never received any toll violations they told me that they had sent me the copies of the violations in the mail a month ago.

When I told them that I did receive it but it wasn't for my vehicle I was put on hold. When the person got back I gave her my truck information so they could "investigate" the situation and someone would get back to me. Days turned into weeks and finally it was time for me to make my next payment and still the violations were there. Again I called and spoke to someone different. Again I had to explain the entire situation and again I was told that they would look into it and someone would get back to me. Another few weeks went by and no one ever contacted me so I called again. This time the person told me that since GM has paid the violation it was up to me to go to the city or town in which the ticket was issued and have them issue the leasing company a refund check. I asked how I was supposed to go about doing so which they just told me to go to the town and tell them what I've been telling them.

So now that I have to travel to a town I've never been to and have them issue a refund check going solely by my word alone, I'm extremely angry and write a formal complaint to GM. I received an email a few days later stating how sorry they were to hear about the situation I'm in and they would look into everything and would have the issue resolved with me having to do little if not anything from this point on. I had also asked to be sent copies of the violations so I could keep record of them. I never received them and the last email I had received from GM was from July 19th. Today I called again to figure out what is going on since it has been nearly two months since anyone has said anything to me and the violations were still on my account. Now mind you the only copy of the violation I received was back in April from GM Financial and had the picture of the car and the license plate from the toll.

They are now telling me they have no picture of the toll violation and I only have the vehicle information. I then stated that if they had vehicle information then wouldn't they have known it wasn't for my truck in which they responded that it shows it's from for Silverado and that I needed to contact RITBA for them to validate that it is not my vehicle and for them to issue a refund check. So I call and tell the woman on the phone what GM Financial has been telling me in which she laughed and said they don't issue refund checks but would gladly look into the violation. She then stated that because GM Financial has paid the violation that the ticket has been closed and because I do not even own an E-ZPass there is nothing they can do and I need to deal with my leasing company directly.

This company has been nothing but a headache for me and has done nothing but stews me out for the last 5 months. Why should I be responsible for fixing their mistake when I have been telling them for months that it isn't even for my vehicle. They never call back when they say they're going to nor do they have the common courtesy to email you back to give you any sort of feedback on what they're doing on their end. They have guaranteed that I will NEVER lease another vehicle through them again because they are just awful.

In 2015 we leased a 2015 Equinox for 24 months with a one payment option. It was to be turned in on August 25, 2017 but we pulled ahead on July 10, 2017 and that left over one month payment we should have been refunded. Because our account had a zero balance we are not entitled to receive a refund for the last month even though by the end of July I was told they had already sold the car which had only 11,000 miles on it. Someone else owned the car but I was still not eligible for the last month refund of $333.70. When we leased a car through ALLY they were very generous with refunding at the end because it was in such great shape and low mileage. I hope it was worth it to lose at least a 30 year customer of GM cars.

I have noticed all of the bad reviews for "GM Financial" and I truly don't understand it, because they were absolutely life savers to me when I really needed the help! I lost my job after only owning my brand new car for 1 year and was out of work for 9 months. With this said with paying rent & car insurance & utilities after the first 2 months of unemployment I couldn't afford to pay my $556.28 car note, I was so worried I cried about how I was probably going to lose my car, how would I be able to keep looking for work!!! I called GM Financial right after making my 2nd payment while unemployed and explained my situation of being unemployed and if there was anything they can do to help me.

From speaking with the first person I was lucky to speak with to the Manager who helped me. It was absolutely a great experience! They were so kind and understanding! I had to make sure that I would keep my promise of payment dates & payment amounts and my car would not be repoed, what a relief and what a great company!

I had a small personal loan with a company called "Heights Finance" a small $105.00 a month personal loan and all I got was threats of them taking me to court when I called to make arrangements with them and here I am with a $30,000.00 loan with GM Financial and they were giving me a chance and they listened and cared enough to work with me, so yes GM Financial is a great company in my opinion!!! I would go back to them any day and would recommend family and friends! I got to keep my car because of them!

We then bought a rim car protection from our dealer and we had issues with 2 other tires which were replaced. We turned the car before the lease ended in May 2017 and GM Financial calls us on 30th September 2017 asking us to pay for $675 for tires. After almost 5 months they called us saying one of the tires has a cut. We need to pay them $675. It took them 5 months to come back to us and all the tires were replaced by new tires from an authorized GM dealer so we are not sure what is this charges or who is responsible for this 5 month delay?

I recently opted to purchase my lease vehicle. As requested, GM sent the lease buyout packet to my bank. The bank in turn sent the requested funds to GM. When I finally received the certified, notarized bill of sale. The bill of sale showed that I owed about $878.00 less they asked from my bank. GM demanded that I immediately go to DMV to transfer the title into my name. When I questioned the totals, they sent me a second certified bill of sale showing the same lower amount. I went to DMV to transfer the title and found the taxes had not been paid by GM.

Over the past month or so I have spoken to numerous individuals without even a hint of success. They insist the total they request from my bank was accurate but cannot account for the difference. They offered two different reasons but neither was accurate. I have encountered numerous unreturned calls and emails and I must say I have never experienced so much incompetence and poor customer service as this. I will no longer use GM, and will suggest my car dealer do the same.

I have a car loan through them and for the last 2 years they have been nothing but understanding. I got laid off from my job last year, and hit some rough times and was completely not able to pay my car payment. They worked with me and were so sympathetic.

When I finally got on my feet, something major went wrong with my car that wasn't covered under warranty and had to pay over $1,000 for it, the same day I was suppose to make that payment to them. Instead of them being angry and threatening to repo, etc. they completely worked with me! Were very apologetic for the year I had and took the time to talk with me about what we can do to resolve this. I have dealt with plenty financial companies that have left me horrible rude threatening voice mails, etc. but these people are great to deal with!!! 100% recommend them!

Had my car financed thru GM Financial/AmeriCredit Financial Services. Paid loan off EARLY in Mar 2015. After 2-3 mos never received clear title. Called; they claim mailed mid-Apr 2015 & could not reproduce title, but would mail "release of lien letter". Another couple of months pass & never received such letter. Called again & they claim mailed. Referred me to website ** to request copies. They could not, & WOULD NOT resend. ** charges $23 for "lien satisfaction letter" copy & $35 for "duplicate title PLUS any DMV fees". This is a con & a scam like the other ways GM Financial/Americredit uses to make money off of consumers (read all other complaints here against them).

I became life-threateningly ill in Aug 2015 & have been dealing with health & medical insurance the past 2 years, so this issue was put on "back-burner". Then while getting car registration renewed today asked how to get car title. County tax office said Americredit has NOT released lien; still shows as lien holder on title. Called GM Financial/Americredit when got home & was told same thing as two years ago!?! When told them State of Texas still shows them as lien holder their response was that GM/Americredit releases it electronically & the State does not update THEIR records properly (I worked for the State of Texas for 11 years... I know better).

Only after I threatened to call a specific local TV station Consumer Affairs assistance program did I get a different response. Young lady on phone asked to put me on hold for a few minutes to talk to supervisor. When she returned to line she said request to resend "lien satisfaction letter" will be put in system, Then someone will call me within 48 business hours to inform IF approved. IF approved, letter will be mailed in 7-10 business days. I will still have to request clear title from State & pay any applicable DMV fees myself. That's fine... it's only $7.50. I just refuse to pay GM/Americredit $23-$35 to send a copy of something that's rightfully mine that THEY NEVER mailed in the first place. ** & GM Financial/Amercredit are running a scam on consumers. DO NOT FINANCE YOUR VEHICLE WITH GM FINANCIAL/AMERICREDIT... THEY WILL HOLD YOUR TITLE "HOSTAGE" FOR THE FEE.

From the begin of the purchase of the car loan for the $120.00, there was something wrong with the information on the account. I find out by viewing my credit report the GM Financial put a bad mark on my credit which cause my credit to go down 100 points.

I reached out to GM financial and they said the reason they put a bad report was because I was 30 days late on the $120.00 a month loan. I told them I never spoke to them about late charges. Why would I be late on a $120.00 loan when I have a loan with them of $1,100.00. and I have never been late for the loan? Anyway, to make a long story short, they had my office number for contact and not my primary number. I told them to remove the bad remark as this was more about them not having the right phone number to contact me and she said she couldn't. My credit when down by 100 points.

Incompetent and absolutely no culpability when mistakes are made. Let me first say I am not disputing the denial of the claim. I am seeking assistance in resolving the problem related to the return of the premium paid for the credit life. Here is a little background on the situation. In February of 2015, my husband purchased a new vehicle. He purchased credit life on the loan. Fast forward to February 1, 2017. He was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer on January 28th, entered hospice on January 30th, and died on the afternoon of February 1st. He died without completing a will naming me as his wife as immediate heir. His death was unexpected and very quick. According to the terms of the credit life policy, there is a two-year mandatory review clause. He died eleven days short of the end of the mandatory review period. They denied the claim and refunded the initial premium.

The check for the premium was send directly to GM Financial, according to the letter I received from American National on May 15th. June 19th, I phoned GM Financial to confirm the funds were received. I was told by them the check had not been received. I then contacted American National who issued a tracer on the check. I received a letter from American National the following week indicating the check was received and cashed on May 24th.

Here it is July 6th, and this issue is still not resolved. After spending 4 hours on the phone with both GM Financial and American National, this what I know. GM Financial received a notice dated June 29th, from American National requesting the funds be returned to them. I believe the term used by GM Financial was reversing the payment. According the claims specialist from American National, they did not request the funds be reversed. I am still waiting for American National to return my latest phone call. American National would gladly speak with GM Financial, and I attempted to facilitate that exchange. However, GM Financial has a policy not speak to 3rd parties.

I participated in a conference call with both American National and GM Financial on June 29th. At that time, the matter according to GM Financial was resolved. Today I receive a phone call from GM Financial once again telling me that American National has now verbally requested the return of the check. That is false. I have spoken to the claims specialist GM Financial has indicted as the source of the request. Now I am waiting for yet another conference call to attempt a resolution of this matter. According to the conference call of June 29th, GM Financial had agreed to credit the account effective May 25th and reverse the interest charges associated with that amount. At that time, the matter was considered closed.

In the meantime, I am accruing additional interest on the account, as well as being assessed late fees and such by GM Financial, as all the payments I have made are reconfigured. Since my husband died suddenly without a will, and the loan is only in his name, I do not have access to the GM Financial account. This is my only vehicle, and I do plan on taking the issue through the probate court to have the loan transferred to my name and eventually have the title issued in my name. Now, I don't have the funds to hire an attorney or pay the court costs. I am trying to save the money to file. With all the additional fees and interest on the account, what money I had set aside for this has gone to GM Financial.

What do I want as resolution? I want the funds from American National applied to the account and credited by effective on May 25th as that was date the first check was cashed by GM Financial in a timely manner. I would also hope that GM Financial to reverse additional interest accumulated on the loan due to this issue. As an added benefit, I would hope anyone who hears about this, would understand the importance of wills and keeping proper records to back up your issues.

I was leasing a 2014 Cadillac ATS through GM Financial, and in March I got out of the lease to get into a 2017, also through GM financial. In April I was charged another month's lease payment on the 2014 and when I called to inquire I was told that it was because they received payment to cancel the lease too late to put a stop to my automatic payments and that I would be reimbursed by cheque. Several calls and several months later I still haven't received anything although each time I called I was told that the cheque was being sent out that week. Today I called again to see the status and all of a sudden I'm told that there was wear and tear on the vehicle and they were keeping my overpayment to offset the costs. They didn't pick up the vehicle from the car dealership to inspect for at least 3 months after it was dropped off, so anything could have happened in that time that I should not be on the hook for.

Also worth mentioning the car was 25,000 kms under the allotted amount with 4 months remaining on the lease, and was in pristine condition inside and out. I am currently in the process of taking legal action against GM Financial and will most certainly never use them to lease another vehicle as long as I live. Suggest everyone else does the same.

December of 2016, I leased a 2017 GMC Terrain and turned in a 2015 GMC Terrain to a GM dealership on the same day. I retained the odometer statement and other lease disposition paperwork indicating that the 2015 Terrain was turned into a GM dealership in good order (within the contract mileage and free of damage). Over the next several months, I routinely received phone calls from GM Financial inquiring as to the whereabouts of the 2015 Terrain. I repeatedly sent GM Financial scanned copies of the odometer statement, along with the old and new registration which prove that the 2015 Terrain was turned in in December of 2016.

In June of 2017, I received a bill from GM Financial for almost $500 in excess wear and tear, excess mileage, and tax for the 2015 GMC Terrain. I again called GM Financial and told them that the vehicle was turned into a GM dealership over 6 months prior. GM Financial rudely informed me that I turned the vehicle in June of 2017. I again had to prove that the 2015 Terrain was turned into a GM dealership in December of 2016.

GM Financial clearly lost track of the vehicle for over 6 months, and is now trying to recover $500 in taxes, damage to the vehicle, and excess mileage that the vehicle incurred from December 2016 to June of 2017. It is my position that the vehicle was turned into a GM dealership in good condition and within the contract mileage. It has not been in my care, custody, or control for 6 months, and GM financial was. I am not responsible for damage or mileage incurred since the vehicle was turned in, nor am I responsible for the 6 months of property tax. GM Financial is typically unresponsive to emails or phone calls. I would never treat a customer like this.

December 20 2014 I bought a 2009 Traverse from a Chevy Dealer under the certified used vehicle. The dealer apparently went right too GM Financial (we thought they shopped around when they didn't). Got the loan paid on time, never late. Kept up maintenance, oil changes, etc. Oct 2016 driving 70 MPH on a highway with my three kids in the car. Traffic slowed down, I touched the breaks. Traffic assumes I touch the gas engine dies. Threw it into neutral, trying starting it while still rolling. Nothing. Manage to get off to the left because too much traffic on the right. Try getting it to start and got nothing. Had to get it towed (funny thing was the state trooper that pulled up to help had his ex wife's Traverse in his drive way because it did the same thing to her. She had to use his car to take kids around).

Dealership we got it from went out of business and no other Chevy dealership would honor the sale to fix the problem. The one we spoke to wanted $400 just to plug it in the diagnostic computer. That did not include a Guarantee to fix any issues. It was just to tell us what was wrong. Still paid for the five months of trying to get it fixed. Come to find out 2009-2011 GM vehicles with a certain V6 engine in it ALL had issues because the engine is no good. GM knows this and admitted to it on the phone. However they refused to have it fixed. I said this should be a recall or you should be responsible for fixing it. Yeah, we know but we are not. BBB, and every other complaint company has thousands of complaints, I believe this was Toyota's issues as well. Still nothing is being done.

Needs a new engine AND computer system. It only has approximately 130,000 miles on it. What engine goes up on it's own at 130,000? At least $3000 & 4000. Cars maybe worth 4000-6000. Can't afford to pay so tell them to repo and that I'm done paying for it unless they are willing to fix their issue with their vehicle. Told to skip two payments and then they could repo due to MD law. Did everything Financial person told me to do. She told me I was done. I asked "I am now done with everything". She said yes. Beginning of June I get a letter saying they are going to auction off car and that I will be responsible for the balance. I called Chevy Dept they say It's the Financial dept's problem. Call them they said They know the vehicles problem is a manufacturer's issue and that Chevy is responsible but I still have to pay.

Vehicle is a lemon and they admit it is a lemon but I entered a contact with them and still have to pay. I said "No you admitted issue is yours". "Well we are separate from GM". "No you are just a separate department". "Yeah but we aren't responsible for manufacturing issues". "Yeah I get you didn't make it however your company did and that makes you part of the responsibility". She says I would have to prove it was a Chevy issue. I said the complaint department said it's their problem and that I have to talk to the financial department. "We aren't a part of the..." "YES I know but your complaint Department can't send a memo to you saying it's GM's problem and tell you to cancel or forgive the loan?" "No, we don't do that. You signed a contract with us, so you have to pay". "Not paying GM for a lemon". She kept saying they weren't GM.

Supervisor then threatens to get the IRS to take the money. IRS does not come after private loans. I get the whole 1099c thing where they write the loan off which somehow the IRS sees this as an added income to me. However so long as I claim it on next year's income tax isn't going to mean a thing. So I said "Yeah I know send it to collections then go to court". This is really weird part because apparently they don't go to court. I said twice I will fight them in court. They don't take you to court!!! I was told if I wanted to go to court over the issue I WOULD HAVE TO BE THE ONE THAT FILES?!? She said I would have to fight it as a lemon. I said I would just wait for them to file as failure to pay in claims court. They don't do this! Because they would lose.

It's a HUGE scam these people are pulling and nobody is doing anything about it. That's why they do the IRS thing. They don't let you know they filed it. They get the write off as a business loss and get the money from the government and I would get fined by the IRS for not claiming the write off as an income. That's how they are getting away with it. They send me back to complaint side of Chevy. The woman on the phone admits it's their problem and that THEY are a part of GM. Doesn't understand why they aren't cancelling loan. Send me back to another section of Financial. She questioned me and even admitted herself it's Chevy's fault and can't figure out why they are still having me pay. She goes all over the place and come back to start sounding like the one before her about the auction. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH GM BY ANY MEANS! GMC, Chevy, or Buick. No wonder they needed a bail out in 2008.

I have had the car for 5 years, it takes me back and forward to Baptist Hospital for one thing and Duke for something else. Getting to the point my husband set up a payment arrangement with a representative two weeks ago. He was to make one payment on the 5/15/2017 $250.00 Western Union ref #** next payment on 5/19/2017 $252 ref #**, another payment of $250 due on 26th of May and full payment of $502 June 12th. That would have put him in a position to stay on track. With me being diagnose with Lupus, I am in and out of the hospital and my medicines are not cheap.

My husband committed himself to everything the representative asked. When I called last night the rep called and said she did not see why they repo the car when my husband abide by their directions. I have worked so hard to keep my car. I need help. The repos was their error. I can see if the representative said paying $250 would not do anything for keeping the car and it would be repo, but to make him make payments on something they knew they would keep. My medicine is $300 a month, I am in and out of the hospital. While I were getting my short and long term payments I paid my car pymts. The last person I talked to said I was 4 pymts behind. With the payments he made and the $250 payment due on Friday then two weeks a full payment that's only one payment if any behind.

I now have my new financier and GM FINANCIAL payment withdrawn from my account. When they said they wouldn't. This happened on the 28th. Rent is due on the first. I now have only over $200 in my account and they have to "research" the fact that they took it out of my account. The first person I talked to said that it was never taken out because I don't owe them any money. And suggested I call my own bank and ask them to give me back the money which GM FINANCIAL wrongfully withdrew from my account. That idiot should be fired. I hung up got a different person. She saw where they charged me.

They said they would expedite it for me. But it still takes 5-7 business days and the payment was take out on a Saturday. That's just to even get a response of whether or not they are going to refund it. My grace period for rent will be over by then. And I wouldn't get another paycheck for another week. So I can't even pay a late fee which I will need because they have over $400 tied up I can't touch and they won't refund it in time to pay rent. I don't have anyone to help me. I'm on my own. I'm risking late fees and evictions. And for the last two days all they know is "research is pending." But can't even tell me where we are in the process of this refund. They won't even help me with a late fee that they caused. Do not use GM FINANCIAL if you can help it.

The salesperson does not tell you this upfront, but when you are signing the papers. I also heard sometimes they do not even tell you. Also now GM cars are being made with no cd player, so spread the news!

We purchased a vehicle on April 1, 2015 which was financed with GM Financial. We were using a middleman company to pull our funds from our account and sending it to GM once a month. At the end of March 2017 we traded that vehicle in, so therefore the dealership sent the funds to GM to pay off our loan. We forgot to contact the middleman to hold the monthly payment back and return it to us until it was too late. Shouldn't be a problem getting that extra payment back right? WRONG!!!

First they wanted a running bank statement, which I provided immediately, then because it didn't show that they were the ones pulling the funds... that wasn't good enough... even though I had already explained how our payments were being made. I contacted the middleman company and they provided me with proof of the payment, which I forwarded to GM Financial. We went from our payment would be refunded within 24 to 48 hours to 30 days to it's in the mail to the check hasn't been cut due to needed approval to it can take 15 days.

Mind you it is now April 18 and I finally have been told that the approval has been made and we will receive our check by the end of the week. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I will probably faint if it really comes true. The most frustrating part of it all is that every time I call, I get someone new and different branch locations, so nobody knows the people we have already spoken to and they have to read the whole book of notes which makes the phone calls long and even more frustrating. We were promised a call from them regarding our payment, but that never happened. I had to call them yet again. I will NEVER EVER use this company again and I would NEVER recommend them.

I had a vehicle financed through this joke of a company. Paid on the vehicle for 4 years on a 5 year loan when I was in a bad accident. I was in the hospital for two months and out of work for over a year. I was in constant contact with them and agreed to a voluntary repo. Well after the vehicle was repossessed it only took them a couple months before they started to pursue me for the remaining balance which they now claimed was $20,000. Now remind you that I was still out of work and unable to walk at this time. I purchased the car for $29,000 4 years earlier and paid $523 a month. Had 1 year remaining on the loan. Every time I called to discuss this with them they were rude and treated me as if I was some type of bum for not paying my payments. They were great at dancing around the issue with insults but no one could ever give me a straight answer.

At the time I was more concerned about getting my life back on track than I was arguing with these idiots. Well this was in 2010, in 2015 I receive a 1099-C from the IRS that I now owe taxes on the remaining balance of $13,680, so they obviously sold the vehicle and deducted the $6000 or so they sold the vehicle for and claim that I still owed the $13,680. When I called to find out more information the lady I spoke with was again rude. She wanted my current address and phone number because she said I still had a balance that needed to be paid. Knowing the law, I questioned her how if the balance was now discharged could I have a balance. Her reply was that I must not know what I am talking about, just because it was discharged does not mean that I don't still owe the money.

This is illegal by the way when a debt is discharged, the creditor can no longer pursue for the debt. She could not give me any direct answers as to how I could possibly owe this amount after paying on the vehicle for 4 years. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do at this point except go on pages like this and warn other people to be very cautious when choosing this company for a car loan. They are snakes in the grass and the government should investigate them instead of allowing them to terrorize from what it looks like a great deal of unhappy customers. GM should be ashamed of themselves for allowing things like this to happen to their customers. I wonder if the IRS went after GM for defaulting on their loans!!!

Waited to receive payoff info and called GM Financial on March 21, 2017 to stop auto withdrawal from my checking account. I was told I would receive a callback within 48 hrs confirming that the payments were cancelled. I never received a callback so I called again on March 24th, 2017. I spoke with another representative and she assured me that the payment was cancelled. Checked my checking account on March 28, 2017 to see if the payment was being taken out and it showed they still were taking it out. So, I called again.

This time they see that the payment was taken out but want me to send my checking account statement to prove that the money came out of my account so they can refund me my money. Their other suggestion is for me to call my credit union and say there was a fraudulent withdrawal from my account so I could get my money back. How does a Financial company screw something up so bad? They don’t seem to care. GM Financial needs to get their house in order. THEY SUCK.

GM Financial is a HORRIBLE company. I'm leasing my 2017 GM Sierra Denali since December 27, 2016. My first payment was due on January of 2017. I had set up my Online Account with GM Financial so I can have access to my payments and they had an option to set up automatic payment with them. So I submitted my account information so that they would auto draft my payments every month but it never gave me a confirmation to see if it did set up. The next day I called and spoke to an agent to verify that I was set up for the automatic withdrawal and she said she couldn't see anything confirming my payments were set up for automatic payments but that I had another option to make a one time payments through Western Union which I would have complete control of.

To make my payments, me being new to their website I asked the Agent if she was able to walk me through it to make my one time payment through Western Union Speedpay for the month of January since she couldn't confirm it was set up for the Automatic withdraw and she told me step by step and my payment successfully went through. On the month of February my payment was due on the 28th and I guess the Automatic withdraw that I had set up through GM Financial from the beginning took effect and my payment successfully went through. The next day on March 1, 2017 they took another payment which I was completely confused why they double collected on my account.

So I called and I asked them why they had taken two payment from my account, which they had caused my bank account to overdraft and they caused other payment I had from other bills I had scheduled for the same day to not go through causing me A LOT OF DAMAGE putting me in a really bad situation! And they told me that I was set up for two Automatic withdrawals one from GM Financial and the other is called (Recurring) through Western Union. I asked the agent why was I set up for two Automatic withdrawals and she said that when I had called the month of January the Agent walked me through the steps to set up the recurring payments through Western Union when I specifically repeated myself to her that I only wanted to make a one time payment for that month since she wasn't able to confirm with me that my payments had been set up for Automatic payments through GM.

I asked to speak to a Manager/Supervisor and they transferred me to her. I spoke with her about my situation and told me that they had to get all of this situated and that they had to take full responsibility for the mistake that they made because the first Agent mislead me to set up Automatic payments with Western Union when I told her I only wanted to make a one time payment. And she told me that it was my fault for the whole situation because I was the one that set up both Automatic payments. I argued with her for a good 5 min asking for a reimbursement. She told me that the reimbursement would take up from 30-45 days and that they were not going to take responsibility of the fees that my bank added which I was completely fine with because my bank was willing to waive those fees for me.

So in order to reimburse me my money that they double collected which I had not authorized we needed to speak with my bank and talk to a representative which we did. And my bank confirmed that they did collect twice on my account and that there was nothing pending. So GM's Agent asked for my bank to fax them a statement showing both payments going through and my bank provided that information and the Supervisor stated they were going to reimburse me. I called on March 6, 2017 to confirm if they were going to reimburse me and the Agent notified me that they had declined the reimbursement and that they needed more information when my bank had already confirmed that they double collected and they caused my account to overdraft because they had taken all my money on that account...

They have given me an EXTREMELY hard time. They have all been extremely rude. They are not cooperating with me or my bank to give me my reimbursement and it's deceptive behavior from GM Financial Agents! I don't understand why this company is in business if they are not taking care of their Customers. I would NEVER recommend anyone to have a contract or make business with GM Financial!

I got financed on a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe last summer through GM because my credit wasn't all that great. For the most part, they have been OK. I noticed that there are several late payments on my credit showing that should never have been reported late. For example, it's December 19th and although my October car payment was paid in September, it is showing me as 60-90 days late. Last credit update was 12/13 so that is impossible due to the fact that I'm not even at the 60 day mark yet due to my payment date. I've already disputed the numerous false reports to my credit and am awaiting the outcome.

My husband and I have been working diligently to clean up our credit and reduce balances on all of our accounts. In November, I called GM and notified them that I would be sending a $7,000 payment and wanted my Nov. and Dec. payment taken from that and the rest applied to principal. Because of the large amount of the check, I sent it with tracking to the Phoenix, AZ address given to me by the representative and had my account noted. For some reason, it took a week to get to AZ from PA. Upon arriving in AZ GM refused to accept the FedEx envelope and FedEx returned it back to me. Took another week. I received the physical check back in hand on Dec. 8 to which I called and spoke to three different reps including a manager. I was told to process payment electronically on the website and I did so. I immediately received a payment receipt and a few days later on 12/13 my Equifax updated to reflect the lesser balance.

Last Monday 12/12, I received a call from GM stating that I was now overdue on November's payment and that December's was now due. They were calling to collect both months. I told the rep on the phone to review the account and went through the whole story with her. She said she could see the notes on the account and didn't understand why the robo-dialer had called me when clearly I had made the payments. This past weekend on 12/18 my Experian updated and sent me an alert that GM Financial had flagged my account as 30 days past due. What? How is this even possible?

This morning, robo-dialer from GM calls me again. I told the rep get me a manager immediately. She proceeds to tell me that my payment on the 8th was never processed as the account came back as "null". What? I checked and double checked when I entered the information. After the return of the envelope, I wanted to ensure this went through. The receipt also shows that the last four of the account #'s matched the account I paid it with. After confirming that the money was not retrieved from my account, I called GM again. I spoke to another manager and again went through the whole story. She echoed that the payment had not gone through for a null account. I asked her to read the history of my account, that I had been trying to pay them $7000 for a month now.

I told her I was unsure how this account which is a valid account with plenty in it to cover was showing null and asked to make payment right then and there over the phone to ensure accuracy and thorough transmittal. I asked that the late fee they charged me be waived because it was no fault of my own that they returned the payment. I also asked that the hit on my credit be removed because it was inaccurate. She agreed to removed the late fee, but told me she would not remove the fee to pay by phone. She also told me that she would not/could not update my credit as it's "my fault" I didn't make the payment. At this point I was livid. I unloaded on this woman like I've never unloaded on anyone in my life. I have been trying to pay them 7 thousand dollars for a month and they've made this nothing short of a nightmare and now have damaged my credit by reporting false information.

Naturally, this is in dispute and I have all the proof to back it up. I should note, that my husband also has an account with GM and he paid them $10000 only to have it returned! That is $17,000 in the course of the month that we have been trying to pay collectively! His just came back Friday and he submitted it electronically as well. They are a dirty greedy company and I cannot wait til the day I am out from under them. I highly suggest never subjecting yourself to their crookedness and DO NOT get financed through this company!

On May 12, 2016 GM repossessed the vehicle. The Tow Company driver used trickery to obtain the car and snatched the keys out of the car, while the other driver got into the driver's seat. As I was on the phone with customer service at GM, trying to rectify the situation, the tow truck driver pretended like he was waiting for the outcome of my conversation with customer service at GM, then suddenly without warning drove off, while the other tow truck driver, (whom is uninsured driver of my vehicle) drove away in my car. Not once did the tow truck allow me to ascertain my belongings left in the car. The only thing in the car was paperwork that was very personal, confidential, and important, i.e. Death Certificate, banking information, and other personal paperwork. They are charging me $15.00 per day from the storage on my papers.

The Tow Company said that it would have been no charge if I picked up my car there. However, because it was sent off to the auction then I would need to pay $430.00 to get my paperwork back. The many times I called GM Financial I was told to speak to someone in the Reinstatement Department and which you can only leave a voice mail message. After failed attempts to get information about my car, so I tried to access the account online, which I was blocked. I then called Customer Service again to request detailed payment and transaction on the account and the Customer Services Dept Supervisor that I spoke to told me that since I am not the account holder for the car loan, I can't get any information and I need to be my husband's Estate Administrator in order to get account details regarding loan payments made.

I explained to them that he did not have an estate and I asked to be directed to the Legal Department and they told me they did not have that information. When I finally spoke to someone in the Reinstatement Department, the representative engaged in a conversation about personal matters. I felt it was unethical and unwarranted. All reputable companies must follow some sort of code of conduct by employees and use standard business practices, which you are not to discuss with the customers personal matters. Especially, if it is not relevant to the business being conducted. I was outraged, embarrassed and humiliated by GM Financial Customer Service Department employees. GM Financial said the only way I could get the car back was to pay the entire balance owed.

I stated over the phone to your employee that I want the car back and didn't want to lose all the money my husband had put into it and had already paid GM Financial about $31,000.00. I had no choice but to use my saving in order to get the car back. Here are the following required from me in order to get back the car: Pay off entire balance in the form of either a cashier check or money order; Payment then needed to be to be cleared and updated on account; Release letter sent to Tow Company and/or Auction Company; Policies required by Tow Company and/or Auction Company, i.e. notarized form and over a 100 miles away from my home; Release from Police Department, fee involved; Property returned to me that was left in vehicle, Tow Company charge over $450 for just my documents.

I never heard of anyone being able to get a money order in amounts over $500.00 and a cashier check from the bank is as good as cash, so the process of clearing payment makes no sense and is just a way of making further delays and fees accrued. After the several days it took to just pay off the car, I needed to know when I would receive the title and the name that the title will be in, and where it will be mailed. I was told by GM employee that, they would put my husband's name on the title and it would be mailed to the address on file for the account. Clearly, this is a problem. My husband is dead, and therefore does live at the address you have on file.

After all calls and messages that I made about the paying off the car, the procedures required by me by GM Company in order for me to get the car back, the car was still transferred to sell at the auction. I did not allow any lapse of time for GM Company to believe that I would not be paying off the car, and therefore, it was unnecessary for the car to go to the auction! I feel that your GM Financial did not follow the Business Code and Practice laws, conducted unethical business practices to me. In addition, I believe that GM Financial performed predatory lending to my late husband.

Nevertheless, I am requesting the following: A detailed and itemized statement of all fees, charges, interest and balances owed; A receipt of payment that I made for $12,021.33; The Title of Vehicle mailed to my address and transferred into my name, which by California Law you are required to do, when provided the proper documentation; I want any fees, incorrect interest charged, or towing fee charge all that have occurred due to your unreasonable policies and procedures to be waived and refunded; Any over payment that I have made returned to me in a form of cashier check; The release of my paperwork from your tow company returned to me without charge.

It is now 9/15/2016 I still have not received a response to my letter requesting the above items, or have I receive the title. I have been told that the title was mailed to me twice and now I have to go to website portal that you can request the title for your car for a fee. Just greed, and something needs to be done for this company to stop conducting business in this unscrupulous manner.

I was then told that the customer service lead by the name of Victoria would look into the situation for me and call me back on Monday (This was said on Saturday).

I patiently waited on Monday and never heard from her. I then called on Tuesday and once again was told Victoria was looking into it and she would call me Wednesday. Called back today (Wednesday) and spoke with latter and Elaina Id#**. They both advised that Victoria was looking into it and she would call me back. I asked to speak with another representative and was told no that Victoria was "re-searching'. I asked what they were researching and she said she was re-searching why it was sent to navy federal.

I told her that 5 different times I've been told that the cashiers check clearly shows that my husband Fares ** is the remitter and they have all admitted that it was GMC's fault so why can't they just re-issue a new title. She said it wasn't that simple and couldn't answer my questions that all she could do is send Victoria a message letting her know she should call me and that I was very upset and I would keep calling until Ii got an answer. No one at GMC will help me. They will not let me speak to a supervisor and they won't re-issue my title. I told them I was going to submit a claim with consumer affairs and they said didn't care.

I have a car Ford Fusion and had it since 2014 and they repossessed it June 19, 2016 late evening. I'm only late for 2 months and I did payment arrangement before this incident in the amount of $629 with them but they want it to post the payment on June 30 plus a service charge of $10.00. So, in order to avoid the service fee of $10, I went ahead and paid thru my bank electronic on post dated date of 6/30/2016. I sent the e-mail to Dana ** with the confirmation but this is what she said in the email. "Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, bank bill payments are mailed to us and would not be received in the time frame required. We would need to post-date a payment over the phone for the 30th to resolve the current actions on the account."

It was so frustrating 'coz they don't have good customer service, sometimes when you call you get from Philippines or India or somewhere but not US. This lady never call me. I asked for a manager above her to contact me. Then the next thing they did was repossessed the car. I did explained to them that I'm the only one earning in the family and have to stretch my budget in paying my bills.

Traded my 07 FJ Cruiser for a brand new 16 Camry. Payment and interest is high but I was able to get a brand new car with no issues plus a 0 down. Other than that bank and experience is so-so. Planning on refinancing a few months down the line. One thing about financing through a crappy high interest bank is that they make you pay your interest upfront first before you even touch your principal. If you want to pay more on your principal loan, you have to call them and tell them you're putting it on your "principal loan" and not the interest. That's why after so many years of paying you still have so much left still on the balance. Do your research before you go on here complaining about a company to begin with. Do good on your payment and refinance with a different bank at a lower interest later down the line.

I bought a car in 2004. The car was registered as a 1999 Chevy in Oregon and I remember that the dealership I purchased the car from that they would register it. I called the Oregon DMV and they confirmed this info. I had them send me proof of this registration. About 6 months after owning the car I ran into a situation where I couldn't afford the car anymore. I called the dealership and returned the car. The person at the dealership told me that since I made every payment up until then I wouldn't be responsible for anything after that, which makes sense. I returned the car to the dealership.

In 2014, I got a notice from the IRS stating that I filed my taxes wrong and that I owed $1,396. After a lot of research I found out that Americredit reported to the IRS that they gave me a "gift" and reduced the amount I owe. I was really confused by all this so I called them and found out that they still have on record that I've owned this car since 2004. Another weird thing was that their records indicate that I owned a 2004 Chevy Malibu. I have NEVER bought a brand new car. I then asked them what address that they have on file. They told me that they have an address that I lived at over 10 years ago.

I asked them why they were the worse collection agency in history. If I owe someone money they have the magical ability to find me no matter where I live, get my current phone number (even though I never give it out and it's not on public records). I confronted the agent about the difference and she couldn't explain why the information was correct. I had them send me the contract, and yes I do agree that my signature is on it, but the information on the contract is wrong. I gave them my updated contact information and I still have yet to get a phone call, billing statement, or anything from them regarding my delinquency.

I also asked them why I would still owe this because I returned the car to the dealership after only 6 mo. They said that they were never told about that, and according to their records I still owned the car. I also checked my credit report. Nothing. There are no loans, car loans, or any company called Americredit or GM Financial. They are basically ruining my life and I have to refile my 2013 taxes and I cannot file my 2015 taxes because of this. If I file my 2015 taxes the IRS is going to take away my refund because according to them I owe money for 2013 taxes. Plus I never got a tax form from them stating that they were giving me this credit.

I'm stuck and now I need to also file bankruptcy and put them on there even though there is no record of me owing this money. These people are crooks in the worst way. All the research that I've done has led me to find out that they do this kind of thing all the time to people. These people may or may not actually have loans with them but it causes a lot of people to owe money to the IRS because they decided to give this "gift". Also Americredit didn't send this info to the IRS until June of 2014. How on God's green Earth am I supposed to know that I got this "gift" if my taxes are due by April 15. My words of advice, if you get documentation from Americredit that they bought your loan, REFINANCE immediately. This company needs to go out of business. Their business practices are not legal.

When canceling my fully paid policy in accordance with their own written policy they first refused to acknowledge my written letter and email then trying to charge me a $50 cancellation fee. When I contacted them the first guy named Russell said they did not have it, while I was reading my cancellation to him right off their own web page! Then he hung up on me. When I called back I got Elisabeth who said she would fix it so that I only owed $42. The policy was fully paid and I canceled it one day before the expiration date. I told them I was not going to pay it and she said fine they would send it to a collections company. I told them fine, I still was not going to pay it. They charge you a phony "Acquisition fee" every renewal and can't explain why. I am a 80 year old disabled veteran of 24 years service and don't need the hassle from phonies like them.

We I dealt with this company, they were called Americredit. I had one payment left on my car. I had made all payments on time. The mail got the payment to them only a couple of days late. Next thing I know, they are repossessing my car. Luckily a neighbor told me what was going on. I ran to my car but the repo guy wouldn't even let me get out my Grandson's car seat out of the car as this was the only transportation for me, my daughter and grandson. They also tried to cash the payment I sent, but since the payment was still processing, I put a stop payment on the check. They are evil people. So I had to catch the bus to work a whole year until I was able to make a down payment on a new car.

I have been a customer for 4 years. Fell behind on my payments due to hardship. Made arrangements to pay and asked for help to get me current. I was 2 months behind so I made a payment of 300.00 and would make another one in 2 weeks and they accepted it. Well my normal payments is 344.00 so I was 44.00 short. Well a week later they repossessed my car. I call and they said "you were short 44.00." So they took my car my only means of transportation. Now they want me to come up with 1,341.00 to get my car back. This company is freaking crazy. Oh and they want cash. Don't you think if I had the cash I would have made my payment. I really think they are a said name of a company and I sure hope they get what is coming to them. We are hardworking people and fell on hard times and they should not accepted my 300.00 dollars if they were going to repo my car.

My first car lease experience was with GM Financial as I leased a 2013 Chevy Traverse. We got a payoff amount over a year ago so we could qualify for a home loan. The payoff amount was sent. I had automatic withdrawal payments monthly prior to the payoff amount and was never late. Now my lease comes to an end and I get a bill for the last months payment. First they stated it looks like the "dealership made a mistake." They would contact the dealership and get back to me "on Monday."

After no return follow up over a week later as promised and long times on hold.. they tell me I owe the payment because from 'what they could tell' I missed a payment back in February 2015. I got the payoff amount in January and sent just that... No less. No one ever apologized or cared if I was satisfied with GM. I definitely would not recommend them. Not to mention I was quoted a car purchase price of approximately $16,000 at the time I paid off the remaining lease payments and now the purchase price changed to $19,600.
