I would give them a zero star if there was such a choice. I made three lease extension payments after my recent lease end and my lease only extended two months, I have contacted them about this issue four times over the past eight days and it is still not fixed. I have been on hold for over 90 minutes this morning and still was not able to reach anyone. I also noticed they have disabled the "submitting a complaint button" on their website, my suspicion is that they probably received an overwhelming amount of complaints for their subpar service.

Refused to refund my money back to my card after constantly sending reminders my payment is due and the app does NOT show my payment processing or paid after making another payment. Customer service advised it would take GM 3-4 days to decide if they would refund one of my 2 payments... 10 days until I receive a payment. I feel they scam their customers right at Christmas!

It's one of the worst businesses ever. In my case, I'm on a monthly extension after a 36-month lease. I prepaid the entire lease based on a total amount deal I made with the dealer. So, I never know what my monthly payment should have been for the 36-month lease. GM Financial never sent me any statement stating what my monthly extension would cost. When I called or used the online chat, I always got a different amount. It seems that each one of them calculated the amount manually and ended with a different number. Very frustrating (especially after hours on the phone over many calls). They all should get an F in their math.
The MyAccount website shows a completely wrong amount due. When I asked the chat bot, it responded that the amount was due on 12/31/9999. Whoa? When I complained about this inaccuracy on the website, an agent said that he couldn't see what I saw, and asked me to fax (yes, to fax) a printout of the screen. Are they stuck in the 1990s? What a ridiculously inept company!

I leased a car for 39 months through GM, then bought it in Feb 2020. I paid off my loan in full, and they never released the lien on the car with the Secretary of State. Didn't take any ownership or responsibility for their error and as a result I was ticketed for expired registration because they never released the lien on my car. Was on hold an average of 40 minutes every time I called until I finally gave up. They messed up majorly, and then dodged the fact it was their fault. 7 hours of my day, and multiple places being on hold. Will never use them again. 6 year olds know how to take responsibility when they've done something wrong...but corporate America? Forget it. GM, you've gotten too big for your britches and you've lost site of the objective. Pat yourselves on the back, and adjust your pants...you've done nothing to earn it.

I bought a brand new 2021 Chevy Silverado Z71 back in May with 48 miles on it. And it’s been nothing but a headache less than 6 months later. A common problem in these New Silverado’s online-the lifters went completely bad. The truck is no longer driveable. But there has still yet to be a “recall” because “ that’s only something the government issues. Anyhow-here we are 3 weeks later-no truck-no answers-same runaround from Sam Pierce-GM Financial-and American Chevrolet that it’s not anyone of their responsibilities to fix the problem. No rental coverage-because ”sorry there aren’t any rental cars for 2 weeks out”! No answers.
We are an 8 person family with 2 full time jobs on one car and still expected to pay this month's payment on a truck we haven’t even had in our possession and don’t know when we will get it back. No one wants to take responsibility and I hope this saves someone the headache to think twice before you deal with another 80 million dollar company that doesn’t care if you lose your job because of their faulty vehicles. Couldn’t even cover a rental car when you sign an agreement to pay on a 52,000 truck. You would think if you can’t cover a rental-and you're completely without the vehicle they would at least compensate the time it wasn’t in your posssession at the very least! Just sick!

I traded my Chevrolet in July to another dealership, and a check was sent for payoff, yet GM says they never received payment-- I'm guessing so they could earn more interest or late fee. Maybe they just mishandled the payment. So I had to deal with having another check sent. The dealership I traded with is very reliable- even mailed me my garage door opener that I left in my trade in, and made good on we owe. So, I trust them when they said they sent the payoff the 1st time.

I called GM Financial to let them know my Aunt passed away and she had a vehicle leased through them. The woman from GM said just have someone take over the lease since there is such low miles on the car. When I called to do that I was told we could not do that as there was no will which means no executor and the executor has to sign off on it. They then stated we could outright buy the car but a bank or dealership had to call for the payoff. I had my mom go to the bank, they got the payoff, she got a check and when we called to ask where to mail it and how to get tags for it GM Financial said, "You can't do that without a signoff from the executor."
We tried to do the right thing from the beginning and each person I talked to gave me wrong information. My Mom wanted to purchase that car for emotional reasons and it has been 3 weeks of a lot of work and wrong information given by GM. I am a Toyota girl myself and I will never ever finance with GM or buy a GM vehicle.

I paid off my truck and needed my lien release to sell it (even an emailed copy). I spoke to 2 customer service reps saying they could do it. Then the 3rd said they can’t, now I have to wait hopefully only 3 weeks to receive it and hope the buyer still wants my truck. Then once my account was paid I didn’t have access to my account online, so they could even send me a letter saying it was paid. Never using them again, horrid experience.

I have two vehicles leased through GM Financial. All was well until an object fell out of vehicle in front of me, I was unable to avoid it. Total Loss. Luckily I had Gap insurance that was required by the company. It was my third year into the lease, 6 months before termination. Just prior to my total loss, a woman picking up items from a neighbor backed into my car, so there was prior damage that had not been repaired. I ended up owing GM financial $861 dollars. My insurance company paid them out, and also gave them my unused licensing fee returned by the state of CA, this was $260. GM agreed that they didn't pay the license fee the years after the first year, so they weren't entitled to the money, however, if my insurance company was going to give them the money they would keep it. They advised me to tell my insurance company to issue them a check that didn't include it and we would be settled.
My insurance company did give them the amount (the money for the car, the license fee, and returned taxes). I asked GM total loss to put that money from the licensing return toward my 892 owed. They refused. They also refused to return the unused licensing fee to me. April 5th of this year they made first contact with me by phone about this and the money I owed them. I told them to send me a bill, and I would have it all paid off by June or mid June of 2021, and then I would seek legal counsel regarding the licensing fees that they took as a windfall. They did not send me a bill until (per their records, May 4th, 2021). They put my account into delinquent status and by May 5th it had already hit my credit report.
I called them to try and square it away and repair my credit as it was the first negative mark I've ever had. They now tell me I owe them 961, not 892. I go home and literally have a bill in the mail from them that says I owe the 892.58. I call the total loss department again the next day and tell them that I have a bill dated 5/24 and it has a different amount. They tell me that there was an adjustment, and the new bill is 961.75. If I want my credit repaired I have to pay this. And they stole my licensing fee. WHAT AN UNETHICAL COMPANY. Worst experience of my life (I'm 42 years old).

It should not be allowed to operate. I hope Consumer Affairs can straighten out the company so customers' questions can be answered. I usually have a lexus and after 2 rings their finance co answers your call. To have GM Finance operate in the USA should be forbidden. I have leased multiple vehicles with Chevrolet, my most recent was financed through GM Financial. I drove the vehicle 12,000 miles under the mileage limit, took good care of the vehicle, regular inspections/services, etc. The vehicle had some minor damage upon return (scratched door, small crack in the rear bumper, etc) - nothing that would be deemed as MAJOR excessive damage. I even purchased a XS Wear warranty when leasing the vehicle to cover any accidental damage. GM Financial charged me a HUGE excessive charge amount, are in-flexible, and claimed the vehicle had a ton of damage. I have used other financial companies for my lease in the past and never had these issues, and returned a vehicle in similar conditions. Really dissatisfied with my experience with them and will NEVER lease a vehicle through GM Financial or Chevrolet again.

I turned in a car at end of the lease. I then saw almost $5,000 payment due on account. I called and requested an itemized bill. Customer Service Rep. said I had to pay it and I said I would love to pay it but I cannot download bill online, paid Auto Guard for wear and tear, and want an itemized bill. She said because “lease is over” I cannot get itemized bill on line. I asked if she could see if one was ever sent and she looked and said no. She said she would send me a bill regular mail and I said that was getting close to due date. I asked if she could email a copy and she said they do not have that capability. So no invoice available online or via email. I asked her to go ahead and send snail mail.
A few days I saw a call coming in from GM Financial and answered it but no one was on line. This morning it happened again so I called back the number and spoke to Amanda who said I should get the bill in about a week which is beyond due date. She said I would have to call and make a payment schedule. I told her I want to pay in full and then she literally began screaming at me, not allowing one word. She would not stop screaming so I hung up.
In summary, I see online a final amount owed but don’t know what is for excess wear and tear. I have been paying Auto Guard so want to call Auto Guard with itemization to find out if they pay directly or not. Do not have a copy of bill and may not receive it until after due date. As a professional counselor I can truthfully say that Amanda was literally screaming at me for wanting the bill. I will never, ever use GM Financial again. Good companies treat all people with courtesy and respect; this is not a good company.

I returned my 3 year leased SUV with 6000 miles to the good on it. Salesman inspected the vehicle at the time I turned it in. He saw no problems. Then I get a letter in the mail saying I owed them for "excessive wear and tear" for a flat tire. I didn't drive the car on the lot with a flat, the warning light did not show any problems with the tire/s. I called GM Financial and disputed this charge. They contacted me 43 days later and said they would waive half the cost. I was told I could contact the dealership and have them send the inspection form they filled out and get back with GM Financial. In the meantime GM Financial reported me as 30 days late on a payment and dropped my credit score by 50 points. I don't normally write reviews but I want other consumers to be aware of these fraudulent unfair practices by GM Financial.

I presented my problem to the company about the way that they are reporting information on me and that my children and wife. Due to Covid-19 lost my job. Had to move from my house. Live in my mom's basement with my wife and four children and cannot get a house because of the negative reporting charge off. After not being late one time and 9 months losing my vehicle, losing my job and paying for it from my credit report. The trifecta of people not caring about other people even though there is a pandemic that we are going through. Not only that they are punishing me for one payment.
I have never been late on a payment before so now that they say that I was late on this payment is going to be reporting negative on my credit report for 7 years GM Financial. The US government has given companies clearance for them not to report negative information on people who have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic but instead this one payment that I missed after all the payments but I made it on time when I was employed. I'm getting punished for 1 payment for 7 years. Be very careful people because one mistake 7 years of punishment.

Spin ahead to this month we had to take her driving privileges away due to early onset Dementia which was confirmed and documented by her Dr. so we called GM to get help with terminating the lease. I recently financed my truck with MODE - a division of GM Financial. I paid over $600 for registration fees. When I went to the town clerk in late January to finalize the registration process, only $2.00 was sent from the title company to cover the registration fees. I had to pay out of pocket to finalize the registration. I have been trying for almost a month to receive a refund for the overpayment. Multiple emails have gone unanswered. Whenever I called to speak with the service manager, she was either in a meeting or not in the building. Promises to return my call by day's end never occur.
Recently, I was told she does not have the ability to return my call at this time. The service representatives at MODE can not help me with this issue or offer anyone else who can. My experience with the financing process with MODE was also frustrating! I found the service representatives to be uniformed and not willing to listen to my concerns. In retrospect, I should not be surprised with how they currently choose to ignore my concern. My experience with MODE continues to be frustrating. I certainly would not consider using this service again!

My wife and I took a mortgage through Rocket Mortgage on her house to consolidate her bills. At the time she was leasing a 2019 GMC Acadia from GM Financial. Rocket Mortgage said we should purchase the vehicle and roll the price into the mortgage. We did so. Rocket Mortgage sent the check to my wife so she could forward it to GM Financial. She forwarded the $33,730.17 check to GM Financial. To date, GM Financial has not provided us with a Title to the Vehicle and we are unable to register the Vehicle in her name. The registration on the Vehicle expired the last day of November 2020 so the Vehicle has sat in the garage, undrivable since then.
On November 23, 2020 I called GM Financial to find out where we were in the process. I was told: the paperwork was processed on November 20, 2020; the lease shows paid in full; and we overpaid and a refund check for $422.58 will be mailed to us on December 4, 2020. On December 14, 2020 we deposited the $443.15 refund check. On December 15, 2020 I called GM Financial to find out where the title was. I was told the Lease Buyout paperwork and Mileage Disclosure Statement were sent John ** at Rocket Mortgage. The Mileage Disclosure Statement needs to be filled out and returned before a Title can be issued. She said she will email the blank Mileage Disclosure Statement to me. On December 17, 2020 I received the URL to the blank Mileage Disclosure Statement.
On December 21, 2020 I mailed the completed Mileage Disclosure Statement via PM Express 1-day with delivery signature requested. The completed Mileage Disclosure Statement was delivered 12/23/2020 at 6:54 AM in Arlington, TX. In late December we received a letter from GM Financial dated 12/18/2020 stating the lease account has been paid in full as of 12/18/2020. That is nearly a month after I was told the paperwork was processed on November 20, 2020 and the lease shows paid in full. Something strange there. On January 6, 2021 and then again on January 15, 2021, I called GM Financial to follow up on the title. Both people I spoke to sounded so helpful. I did whatever was asked of me. I was told I would receive the title on Friday 1/8/2021 by the first person and on Tuesday January 19, 2021 by the second person. I have not received the title.

I tried to call the customer service, but got the obnoxious prompt of communicating through text message for over 18 minutes. Finally I gave up and chose this option. I sent a text message, only to receive a response in the next day from Danya requesting me to fill a secure verification form. When I clicked on the link my phone line immediately went into a lock and it stopped calling (dropping from half a ring) and not allowed to send any text message. Then Danya considered that she solved my concern and moved on.
Now although I paid for December, it's not shown in the system, late fees still there and now I have a broken phone that I had to deal with. Absolutely terrible customer service. This is beyond terrible, although I worked for GM for over 6 years, and this is my second GM car, it's most definitely my last, including friends and family. This review is about the dealership I had to deal with AND GM Financial themselves: I bought my first vehicle from GM Financial. (I leased with a different company up until 2017 but I wanted to buy and GM had a new year sale going on.) Went in with my then husband, we decided after a test driving to get the 2017 Chevy Trax.
Fast forward to 2019, I start having a problem with a message that comes up saying “service stabilitrak.” I have no idea what that is, but the car is jerking forward and decelerating randomly which is VERY dangerous on the road. I immediately call the place I bought it from, and they tell me to bring it in. I’m hesitant but drive it the 45 mins away to have them look at it. When I get it there, they say they can’t replicate the stabilitrak issue, but they do see the tire sensors are all messed up and recalibrate them, that’s all I got done. They didn’t charge me but I left feeling unsafe in the vehicle, of course if they can’t replicate it I understand, but when I asked what the error message meant no one could give me an actual answer making me feel even more unsafe...
2020 comes around, the issue comes and goes, every time the problem starts up again and I call for an appt, the problem can’t be replicated. It’s literally happening at random when I’m driving. A few months after taking it in a few more times it FINALLY had the issue for a few days and when I called GM they said they would tow it in for free because I only had 24,000 miles on it and I felt unsafe driving it. They towed it in, saw the problem this time (thank god) and replaced some wiring. They also had a recall on the vehicle for the arms, which could have caused my to have an accident as well! My vehicle failed and had to get those parts replaced. I’m starting to feel like this vehicle is a death trap!!
When I went to pick up my vehicle after the recall parts and wiring fixes, I gave my keys to the valet as instructed, he comes back a few mins later without my car and says, “Your battery is dead, did you know that!?” "Umm... No... You guys have had my car for a week and my battery was working fine before... How would I have known that?" So they charged me for a new battery on top of the wiring which I wasn’t too happy about but I couldn’t leave without a battery so...
Ten mins down the road and the check engine light comes on and the stabilitrak comes on again! So they fixed the wiring and didn’t bother to drive it to see if the problem was fixed...awesome. (Any person who has dealt with car issues knows that you need to drive the vehicle a few miles to see if the check engine light will kick on again after repairs so I immediately knew they didn’t do that.) I get it home (45 min drive) and immediately call GM and let them know that the company DIDN'T fix my vehicle and it’s right back to where it was before. I told them they need to tow it back for free again because it’s not safe to drive and they didn’t fix it the first time like promised.
(Again, they couldn’t tell me what stabilitrak meant, so I finally looked it up online and asked around and got an answer, which the stabilitrak message should only happen on slippery surfaces when the back wheels lock up to balance the car out if it has no traction, VERY dangerous if there isn’t a weather issue because my cars wheels could lock up and flip my car. Btw, I live in CA where it hardly ever rains, and doesn’t snow. No slippery conditions here...)
The official at GM tells me that I need to go through the people who didn’t fix my car in the first place (dealership) to see if they can do the tow. I said "No, you guys did the tow the first time. I want you to do it again." Again, they told me they can’t do it and I’d have to go through the Chevy dealership that fixed my car. I ended up calling a few other numbers for GM and the last guy I called said “Oh yes! Of course we will tow it for free! No problem! You’re still covered for the free towing with your 5 year warranty!” I don’t understand why that wasn’t said the first time and I had to call ten numbers but hey, I got to the right person eventually!
They took it back in, tell me they need to replace the fuse this time, I said okay fine and they say that they’re going to drive it this time to make sure. The repairs are done, I go to pick it up and I’m on E for my gas! I had it towed in with a half of a tank and they left me with no gas! They could have at least given me $5 in gas and charged me so I didn’t have to rush to the nearest gas station! That really upset me. Got it home, it ran well for a few days and now the check engine light is on again! No stabilitrak message yet but I’m guessing it will eventually come back on. I feel like this car is a lemon, it shouldn’t have had problems starting at the two year mark and even more at three and four. I’ve had to pay out of pocket for all these “fixes” that never actually fixed my car. During COVID this is hard to do because I’m the only one working as my husband has lost his job.
GM official called me to get “info” on my vehicle. (Have I ever been in an accident with the vehicle? No. Was it bought brand new? Yes. How many times has it been to our shop? Three “official” times now for the same issue (when they could actually replicate it) etc.) I’ve spent over $1,000 paying for things that aren’t fixing it. The dealership also told me it looks like squirrels may have chewed my wires. I had my husband look at it and couldn’t find any chewed wires, not to mention I have a motion camera in front and to the side of my vehicle at all times and it is VERY sensitive so squirrels would trip the cameras. I feel like they’re making up things because they can’t figure out what’s wrong with my car. I just don't understand how you can’t fix a car after I bring it in 5 + times?
It’s been about 2 weeks now since I got it back from the last repair, and a guy from GM called me once more today. He asked me some “follow up” questions like “Are these date correct when you brought the car in?” Yes... "Are these the problems that are still being experienced?” Yep! And I added that my check engine light has gone on once again and this time I don’t want to pay another $300 for something that they “guess” on fixing. The vehicle is clearly dangerous to drive and they’re just not able to fix it. I’m hoping they take this crappy Trax back! It wasn’t a bad vehicle the first year but it turned into a nightmare the second and third year!

So nine months later I checked my credit bureau to see if there was any discrepancies GM financial never reported to the credit bureau or closed the account and showed a past due balance which was not their word of advice. Stay away from GM Financial.
Their inability to do their jobs properly and they make nothing but excuses when I called in and confronted them about it. I have called three times. Have never received an email or letter from them in regards to it and they did nothing but give me the runaround. I am in my 60's and haven't had a ding on my credit report in over 30 years, that is until GM Financial. A 2017 Buick Enclave lease was up and I leased another Buick 2020 Enclave. The 2017 had been on auto pay and I was reassured that this new vehicle would be paid for out of the same account in Sept. I had also signed up for email alerts for delinquent accounts.
They claimed they called me several times to let me know that I was delinquent - I NEVER got one VM from them and because I was 36 days past due they notified the credit agencies. When I tried to get help in getting this taken off, they said that it wasn't their fault and they wouldn't consider this. I WAS ON HOLD WITH THEM FOR OVER 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES. When you are on hold there is an annoying cracking sound while on hold that almost makes you want to hang up. They still came and got the car.
When I called to asked how much they wanted to get the car back they said $2,000.00. Well I'm sorry but I don't think that if my payments were 555.85 per month and I was behind three months and they added fees that they still could have worked with me. I thought that in Colorado the governor said that this wasn't suppose to happen? They wouldn't work with me but you bet they sure will sell the car and come after me for the money! That isn't right. I have been purchasing Chevys since the late 1950s. And may I add have always had EXCELLENT credit. After my second lease with a GM 2017 Chevy Impala I looked around for another 2020 impala to lease. Deals were very poor at that time in April 2020 so I proceeded to lease a new Chrysler Jeep. I tried to return the Chevy to a few GM dealers but was turned away, I was told if I did not purchase or lease a GM product they would not take the Chevy back. GM financial should have all the notes in its files from my chats with the people that called me. The Chrysler dealer took the Chevy and said they would get it returned.
Well the Chrysler dealer tried and they would not even take the auto from them. After sitting on their lot for about four (4) months a Chrysler manager finally returned it to a Chevy dealer. In the four months I received a least two calls a day from GM Financial asking me where the car was. To make matters worse the final lease end bill came in for $421.00 which I knew would come in when the lease was finished but after the annoying calls to a 78 yr. old woman with a heart condition I am considering to either not pay it at all for the way I was treated especially during this Covid virus. Leased a Buick Enclave, at end of lease was told it had to be inspected by Autovin. During the inspection I was told it was missing the owners manual and we owe $25. However the only manual we received when we got the car was a Buick equipment manual. Told that to the inspector, didn't care. Told that to the dealer, didn't care. Told that to GM, didn't care. So now I am out $25 for something I never got in the first place.
Further, during the lease the State sales tax had increased but we were never told that would affect our lease payment. Did not know until after 4 months of being short on our lease payment we were notified we were late on payments, regardless of the fact that our payments were auto-drafted every month. I called GM and the nasty lady that answered the phone told me I was supposed to know about the increased leased payment because it is in my contract. As for the Enclave, it was the worst care we have ever owned, after 3 years the car felt like it was 20 years old. I have been a great customer to GM products over the years having spent well over 100k in 3 years alone. When the pandemic decimated my business, the one single thing that engaged me so harsh was dealing with GM Financial while all my other personal and business creditors were working with me. GM financial had a hard time to give any forbearance whatsoever but instead called me zillion times to check if I am still in need of forbearance. My credit score have always been maintained above 750 with no history of late payments, repossessions or any derogatory remarks. I protected my score religiously. They became the first company to ding my score by reporting my account late while we were negotiating on forbearance.
That decision effectively ended my chance to secure Small Business Loan. It was a business vehicle and portion of the loan proceeds would have gone to GM but they lost on that too. To make matters worse, they repossessed the vehicle without any notice, shaming me publicly, putting my business and my life in financial ruins and leading me to bankruptcy. My account was clear the entire year without any late payments and then as of 08-28-20, their system somehow, erroneously reported me as past due. Upon discovering the error, I was told that they have to conduct research and it has been over 3 weeks with no resolution. Upon making the account current, I requested still to have an invoice for my records. I had to make a second phone call to get the invoice that I previously paid. I recently lost my job and my family is struggling financially right now during this pandemic. We were able to pay the final few payments on the Lease to then find out that we needed to pay the disposition fee since we did not release a vehicle. I don't have a job, how could I release a vehicle? In these tough times GM should have waived that fee. Since our family is struggling, we now have to pay a large fee since I lost my job and could not release? Isn't that like rubbing salt in the wound? Also, we gave the vehicle back with 12,000 miles under the lease agreement. Shouldn't that mean something? I know GM would have charged us if we went over the mileage but apparently you ignore the low mileage when it is in your favor.
I am determined to get a new job and when I do, I will be in the market for a new car. The new Cadillac SUV was actually on my list of vehicles I would have leased. However, now I will stay clear of GM. My parents have leased GM vehicles for over 30 years and once they heard how badly I was treated they have decided to stay clear of releasing another vehicle from GM. I will also be taking this story to my local paper and the Better Business Bureau.
We are all struggling right now during these unprecedented times. For you to punish the ones who stand by you is not really worth it in the end. By the way, when we signed the lease the disposition fee was never mentioned. All the dealer was worried about was getting that sale. All in all it really makes you look heartless when a small amount of money means really nothing to you but could mean a whole lot to a struggling family. I was with GM FINANCIAL since March of 2017. Was amazed how flexible they were being due to my medical background. Although, once the COVID-19 hit and drastically affected the world. I assumed with so much trust that GM FINANCIAL would be a stand up company for the customers while going through the suffering times of the coronavirus, but they did not. Yes, I had a history of missing payments due to medical reasons, which GM FINANCIAL was well aware if, but I ALWAYS brought my account current. No longer than 2 months at most. With my medical reasons and COVID, it pushed my account over 2 months late. Preston, customer service representative, mentioned an 8mos courtesy extension that GM FINANCIAL does not have to give to customers. I asked about the courtesy extensions for customers during this PANDEMIC that the world is being affected by. Preston transferred me to Dana ** (Supervisor).
I asked Dana to give me 3 to 4 wks (waiting on unemployment card to come). Instead she rudely spoke over me consistently repeating information that I heard, but irrelevant to the plan to resolve. I then began to stress because she was simply not listening to my questions or my plans to catch up. She repetitively enforced that my car will be repossessed and that the full amount is due to get the car back. She continued to mention CHARGED OFF, A 3rd party COLLECTIONS AGENCY, and REPOSSESSION. She was so rude, I reminded her that the GM FINANCIAL lines are recorded and the nerve of her to say NOT my line. Wow! I informed her that I was recording and she instantly changed her tone but ended the call roughly a minute after I told her I was recording, with a hang up (while I was still attempting to speak).
They repossessed my vehicle during this pandemic from private property and drag the car while the emergency brakes were locked and the wheels turned all the way to the right (passenger side); avoid my car from rolling back, due to a slight hill at the weekly I am residing at. Even if I was able to get the car back with refinancing, I am sure the tow company damaged the car. Now the car is no value to me to get to my doctor's appointments, interviews nor any value to GM FINANCIAL. I pray they clear negative credit reports or sell my vehicle at the highest price possible to deduct from my remaining balance. I would not recommend solely because of the representation of force with no sympathy or understanding during a sensitive time in life for not just me but anyone and everyone. Programs available to GM FINANCIAL for financial hardship from the government, but no programs for customers during this pandemic. Greed disgust me.

I recently leased a vehicle from GM Financial. The customer service during COVID-19 was disappointing. Upon returning the vehicle, we were charged extra fees, despite turning in the vehicle with over 500 miles left. We attempted to turn in the vehicle to the dealership we leased from, however, they were closed. We contacted GM Financial and were told we needed to find a dealer, on our own, willing to accept the vehicle or we would be charged for an additional month. We eventually found a dealership over 30 miles from the location we leased the vehicle from. Due to the inconvenience from the dealership and GM Financial informing us it was not their problem, we had to pay an additional month of insurance. A month after we turn in the vehicle, we receive an invoice for close to $450.
The invoice had an "excess wear charge" and a disposition fee. After calling and being on hold for longer than the conversation took, we found out the excess wear charge was for a missing owners manual. The disposition fee is a fee we have to pay for giving the car back, for them to sell. We have no way of verifying whether or not the manual is actually in the car and overlooked (which we believe to be true), or if it is actually missing. We were told it would be "disputed" but there is no certainty the charge would be reversed. My wife bought a Chrysler 200 in Texas, but we have to move to NYC, we talk to them to make easier the process to register the car in DMV, so they suppose to send a title or something that we could use to be able to drive in NYC. After several month we wait for the document and every time we call they had another excuse. We have to put the car on a parking lot because we couldn't get the New York plates, few months later wife lost her job so we call them to ask them what we can do, because the payments of the car and the parking lot was too much to us. They never respond. Until today that we called because we need to figure it out what we are gonna do. And the only solution was that is not able to send us a title or something similar to present in the DMV (something different of what they told us before) and the only solution was to surrender the car, paid a year of parking lot and wait the new monthly payments. That is not fair.

My initial complaint would be at the expense of the dealer. They were dishonest during the sales process and got a high interest rate past me. They verbally told me 1.9%, when it WAS 7%!! They tell you the details, then have you sign away on a small tablet as they verbally dictate what you're signing. I will never allow the process to happen that way again and feel foolish for allowing it then. Next complaint is their payment processing set up. I paid the car off in full in early April of 2020. I had my payments set up to be auto-drafted on the 25th of each month. After paying the car of IN FULL on 4/7/2020, I logged in BEFORE 4/15/2020 to ensure the auto-draft was turned off. The account said "paid in full" online, and no NO OPTION to turn off auto-draft. Come 5/5/2020, they pulled a payment out of my account. Not only was it 10 days past when they usually drafted, but they were drafting it to pay against a closed account.
When I caught it, I called immediately and they first told me that they WERE NOT GOING TO REFUND the payment!! After a long conversation, they agreed to mail me a check, 2 WEEKS later (obviously due to the time of this review, we will see if that happens). They also said that a customer HAS TO login and turn off auto-draft PRIOR to paying off a vehicle. Once they vehicle is paid off, the customer can no longer turn off auto-draft payments. How does this make sense? You close an account, but you still auto-draft payments against a $0 balance? Then when a customer tries to correct it, you tell them they're SOL? It's ridiculous. I'm beyond angry as this corporation is obviously taking money from many people out there and likely getting away with it. I babysit my finances closely, not everyone does. I just wonder how many of these "extra payments" GM Financial actually keeps.

They cleared the check and stated I didn't write down my account information. I had sent them the proof of the cleared check but still nothing has been solve. I also would like to informed, I enrolled for autopay and at the end of my lease they automatically deactivated the payment so I was late for my payment. The GM Financial Lease Assumption Department has not been functioning. This is making it extremely difficult to transfer the lease to a new buyer. It is unfortunate that GM dealers are happily leasing new cars but GM Financial refuses to service its customers fully. Customers are in lease contracts and GM continues to make money without providing service. Millions are without jobs now and will not be able to afford payments. This puts their credit scores at risk too when they cant sell the leases to others. GM continues to sell new lease cars but does not service existing customers.

This company is a bunch of shisters who prey on people by the fine print of their contracts. I just returned a GMC Terrain I leased thru GM Financial on 3/17/2020. Within days I received a bill from them for $529 and charge for disposition fees and "Official fees". My lease payment was never late, car was perfect when returned, and no damage. When I called GM Financial today to discuss this all I could get from them was "It is part of the contract". Well this should be highlighted so people know they are being railroaded by this company. I feel I did my part by paying the lease payments as agreed on time. Disposition fees (if any) are the owner's responsibility, I don't own it. They say these fees can be dismissed, but they won't. Very courteous agents, ineffective business processes. I leased a Chevy Volt and purchased excess wear insurance. (Don't ever lease from GM without it!!!! They tell you normal wear is not charged but at the end of the lease it is a doosie). Every payment was on time, you would think they would try to get me as a repeat customer. The end of lease process was a horrible experience. They kept requesting payment for "excess wear" even though I had purchased the excess wear insurance for $1000 and it covered 5x what the excess wear was estimated by Autovin to be.
Eventually I had the dealership intercede and charges were removed. Yet, they still keep sending me invoices with the wrong amount. They reported this amount to the credit bureau within a day from the car's return and my credit score went down! I have never seen anything like this without prior communication and invoicing. The company has poor billing processes and the return of the lease is an experience I do not wish to repeat. The agents on the phone are very courteous and you think you have settled an issue with them but then it is raised again by the billing department. There is no audit trail. This is my last lease with GM Financial. If you have signed up I wish you better luck.

I would give a ZERO if I could... I had my lease on auto-pay and it was somehow turned off and they reported to the credit bureaus without notifying me after two years of paying on time. My credit score was impacted significantly. I called and they said that they had to report it, it's against the law not to even though it was not my fault. I let that one slide. Turned my auto-pay back on. Fast forward to end of lease.
I turned in my car and got a letter saying they received it, will do a comprehensive review and mail me a bill. Again, my account is on auto-pay with paperless statements but OK, I'll wait for a bill to come in the mail. I get a notification from Experian that they reported a 30 day late payment on my account. Mind you, it was already closed and at a zero balance. No calls, no email, no bill in the mail, no nothing. Instead, GM Financial opted to report a late payment AGAIN! My credit score went down again because this lender is too incompetent to send a bill or even contact me - with multiple channels as an option. I called and asked for them to send the bill via email and they said they can only mail it. It's 2020 last time I checked and I am a paperless statement customer. RIDICULOUS!
I still haven't received the bill but I know the balance is roughly $1,000 more than it should be. Reading other reviews, I am sure there are a bunch of fees that I should not have to pay in the first place. Needless to say, I will never lease with them again. I made the mistake of leasing a 2016 Chevy Traverse with GM Financial. During the lease it was mostly ok (with a few hiccups with statements/amount due as shown in app & website..ALWAYS 3 different numbers). But the nightmare started when it came time to turn in the lease. I paid off what the website told me was due a couple months early because I had the available money and wanted to put away some $. Got a notice stating I was past due about 45 days later telling me I owed another $300+. I looked in their app and it said I owed $500+ and my statement said even more. I called and emailed in trying to get an aged trial balance showing all charges and payments made historically on my account so I could match it up with my records (I am an auditor- this is literally what I do for a living). Despite asking multiple times this information was never provided. Instead they finally gave me a final amount due, which I paid immediately.
3 months after turning in my lease I received yet another past due notice with yet another amount I owed and had to reach out again requesting details. I never received anything other than a bill showing remaining balance. I again paid this because it was only a few hundred dollars & their "past due" amounts had hit my credit report and decimated my credit score. As of today (11 months after turning in the truck & 8 months after paying off the additional amount they said I owed after turning in the truck) they hit my credit report for a drop of -70 pts stating I had a past due balance as of 1/2020. They account has been closed for almost a year. I STRONGLY suspect they have not applied at least some of my payments. Be warned....go somewhere else for your lease. Wait what in my deal with Russell Barnett ram Chrysler of TN the jeep was to be paid off no. They send a check that resealed the title to them. Don't know how that worked but left me with 2500 ish on the jeep owed. I call gm financial for 1 reason I've not reserved nothing on this 09 ram truck in a month well drive out tag was already expired and finding out about the jeep. Well gm financial has no record of me nothing. So I call the dealership I'm working on this right now he tells me. I say, "No. Stop. I do not want this deal." He says too late. But I had done called gm financial told them full name ssn all and not to do any deals for me I was out.
I had no account with them. Nice lady said she was making a note on it all and I was good. I was not good I get to Russell Barnett ram to give them their truck back and I wanted my jeep. He lol at me, holds up the paper says, "Sorry bud. Your jeep is gone. Deal was just done." I said, "I told you not to and everybody in the place heard that." Gm financial went ahead and done something I plainly told them not to do and Russell Barnett. I lost jeep and truck. I told gm financial that day after them doing it I wasn't paying for it. But I did pay off the jeep. The girl that released the jeep title to them fired for it. And then gm financial sells the truck 9000 less than it's valued and are still calling me. Well not them anymore. Collection agencies wanting 9000 from me. I tell them why I'm not paying it and let's go to court is fine with me. Another will call I tell them the same.
How can any of this be right of them. It's on my credit report and all. I plainly told both parties before gm financial done the deal as put to me I did not want it do not do it. And like I've told all that's called me I do have these calls made on a memory card. Let's let a judge of law hear them see dates and the phone numbers. Done on a phone recording app I still have to this day. Sorry for the rant but it just ticks me off big corporate thinking they can do this to not only me but many others. A few days before turning the vehicle in I visited to dealership to inquire about having the vehicle inspected and turning in the vehicle. I spoke with the Sales Manager who checked the mileage and briefly inspected the vehicle stated that it was in good condition and didn't think there should be any additional charges. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. After I turned the vehicle in GM has a 3rd party go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb and look for anything and everything they can possible charge the customer for.
Subsequently, I received a statement about a month after turning in the vehicle indicating I owed GM Financial over $1000 ($562 for excess wear and $395 for a disposal fee). One example involved a charge of $150 to replace one tire that the dealership I leased from indicates (on their website) I could purchase an original equipment tire for that same vehicle for $91. Another involves $150 to replace a part in the rear power windows that in my view should have been covered by warranty. When receiving the final invoice GM included a charge for not having the Owners Manual. Their representative noted the manual was in the vehicle. When I turned in the vehicle at the dealer, the dealer also noted the manual in the vehicle. When I phoned customer service I was advised that the charge remains unless I could provide a letter from the dealer on their letterhead that the manual was in the vehicle. We offered to settle because we didn’t agree they were the wrong size, or we would pay the full amount if they returned the tires they said were trash.
Whenever we called and asked to speak with management they would tell us that management would call us back after being on hold for over a half hour. We left messages for management never returned. We offered to settle, and pay the amount for tires that the dealership charges, they refused! My husband and I have paid all our bills on time always. Based on the past year - one star is generous. They told me I'd maxed out that option when I last fell behind after my son's surgery for a broken neck. I got back on track, making a payment every month and they assured me I'd be fine - then suddenly the entire loan was due - in December, no less, and adding up astronomically every day. I've tried to call multiple times and spent up to 45 minutes on hold before having to hang up. The "blue message button" never appears for me to send a message online. I was allowed 20000 miles for the 2 years total, I put 7931 miles on it and turned to then in perfect condition. I made all my payments on time. At the end of lease I was given a $417 7 sent bill. I called and asked why, they said because I did not re lease another GM vehicle it was a penalty. I asked why I was never informed of such. They said it was in small print on the contract and I should have read it before I signed it. I will never lease another vehicle with GM financial again. I did a deposit at the ATM of $341 on 11/5/2019. On 11/14 GM puts a stop payment on the check for $287.42…. ummm…. How is that possible? Now my account has been debited $293.00.
I just leased my final vehicle with GM. When I bought the Equinox on 10/3 GM did not release the title until 10/24 and when I finally got it and took it to register, I was charged $15.00 for a late fee because the vehicle was not registered within 14 days (stated right on the title). I can’t believe that a company as large as GM is such a pain in the ** to work with. I have been a loyal customer and made every single payment on time. I WILL NEVER DUE BUSINESS WITH GM AGAIN.

I have made several calls and all I need is a letter from them to the Gap Claims company that they will not cancel any warranties or contracts that we had for a vehicle that was totalled in July. They keep giving me the run around, I don't understand how a large company cannot send a letter stating that they will not cancel. All they keep saying is it's in the contract. Well I know it's in the contract, but obviously because of the way it is worded, the Claim company needs this letter. I am at my wits' end and don't know what else to do.

I would have written a good review right up until I paid off the loan. I had set it up on their website, got my payoff from there, drafted the money from my account to pay it off. They marked it paid in full, then account closed. Unfortunately, 7 days after that they drafted an additional payment from my account. The first person I spoke with told me the check refunding my money was already in the mail as of the same day it was drafted. Didn't get it. The second person I talked to said the check would not be sent until a month after it was drafted, and it was my fault for not stopping the draft...? Why would they draft a payment for a closed account? Regardless, now that it happened, why did it take so long to get my money back to me? How long? I don't know as we haven't gotten to that extra month and I don't have my money back yet. I have to scramble on my own to figure out what was supposed to be paid from that almost $700.

Put a new tire on the vehicle, hell no. They are going to take it to an auction and the dealership that buys it is going to put four new tires and GM is going to stuff the $237 in their pocket. It makes absolutely no sense, just another way to stuff their coffers. We bailed them out and then they close down one a plant and tell the people of Lordstown too bad so sad. Because of the warning, I made my first payment EARLY to GM in Oct even though the 1st agreed upon payment was due 11/3. I then made a second payment to GM that CLEARED my back by 11/4- BUT even though I paid over $726.00 within 31 days of agreement, GM decided to report my 2nd payment as a late payment to ALL 3 credit bureaus instead and TANK my credit for the holidays!
Again- 363.00 was due on 11/3 and GM had been paid OVER $726.00 by me as of 11/4. I now have the pleasure to have CRAPPY CREDIT for up to 45 days, spend time disputing with each credit bureau and hope that GM sends a letter to each credit company to REVERSE the damage they did to me yesterday! STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SCAMS - I recently finished my 3 year lease with GM for a Chevy Trax and I tried to get into another GM vehicle but the incentives were not as enticing as when I originally got the deal with them. I decided to go with Nissan Financial and as part of the new deal, Nissan offers to pay all remaining balances to GM so they can lock you up with the new leasing contract. GM Financial provided the final amount for the new company to pay but they messed up with the final amount. It turns that GM waits until they sell your previously leased car to determine how much more they can charge you and the small letters on the contract say that including a $395 disposition fee. So basically you are paying them to sell a car which you have been overpaying to lease for a period of three years.
I have had leases before with Jeep, Nissan and Honda and never had any final amount to pay after closing the deal. Be aware of hidden charges and final amounts. For these hidden amounts that they EVEN report to your credit if you don't pay in 30 days. GM lost me as a client forever. You can get your hidden charges with someone else. Nowhere does it state this and GM said they do not have that written anywhere. We called GM and a rep said we do not have to finance through GM to get the fee waived yet today another rep told me it does have to be financed through GM in order for it to be waived. How were we supposed to use the extra miles we purchased without using the tires? The remainder of the fees were mysteriously labeled fees that had nothing to do with the condition of the car. I have not been over 30 days late on any payments for over 17 years. I talked to a GM rep and they told me they would not do anything about it and I should file a complaint with the credit bureau. GM Financial is the worst financial company I’ve ever used to a car lease/purchase. At the end of my lease they tacked on a “Disposition Fee” in order to “process over the car and sell it.” The only parameters that were given to waive the fee is you either buy a new GM vehicle or sign a new lease. I bought a Chevrolet Silverado in March with anticipations that I was going to be turning in my lease in September/ October (because I completed some advanced payments) and then they said they wouldn’t waive the fee because it wasn’t purchased within 90 days of the end of my lease. This is how GM appreciates loyal customers by gouging them left and right and changing their policies after contracts have been signed. I lost all respect for GM after this and will not be buying a GM vehicle nor using GM financial ever again.

So the representative took it upon themselves to put a do not call on my account. HMMM, so now if there a problem with my account I would not be contacted.
I brought this to their attention and it is our understanding that neither Bob Beatty or Dan Berce the leadership of this organization is willing to take accountability for the lack of ownership of their employees. I wish I could give 0 stars.... I would! I have leased 2 vehicles from a Chevy dealer (that I have dealt with buying cars for years). I NEVER missed one payment for any of my vehicles.. As a matter of fact they were all paid each month weeks earlier than the due date. When I turned my first lease back in at end of contract I had NO problem because I leased another. BUT when I turned my last vehicle in and bought a used vehicle from the dealership instead of leasing, I thought everything was done with the lease??!!
I had an offer to turn the leased vehicle in early with no penalties or SO I THOUGHT and WAS TOLD! The original lease would have run out with the last payment being due in August 2019. I paid a payment in July (3rd) 2019 and took advantage of the early turn in option 1 week later... Approx July 10 2019. And bought a used Chevy from the same dealership. When signing papers for that vehicle I was told by dealership that I had to pay that August payment, even though I didn't have the car at all in August! I was NOT happy about that at ALL, but the paperwork had already been done and I had gone to my bank and had the check in hand for the used car I had purchased. I felt I had NO choice but to eat that 201.94 payment on a car I didn't even have for that month!! (Which is bs)
I got on my account page online for GM to pay that last payment on August 3rd to be DONE WITH GM! Well to my surprise my account had been deactivated and I couldn't pay that last payment, so on Aug 3rd I called GM and was told not to worry about the last payment that they were working on closing my account and I would get a final bill in the mail and it could take from 30 to 90 days to receive the final bill....
Over a month went by and I NEVER RECEIVED that final bill in the mail then the very end of Sept GM started calling and harrassing me on the phone saying my payment was past due and that I not only owed the 201.94 August payment BUT I also owed a 395 plus tax etc for a disposition fee.. The total was close to 700.00!!!! And they wanted it NOW! I told them I never received my final bill in the mail! AND was told when I leased that vehicle there would be NO DISPOSITION FEES at the end of the lease! And I refused to pay it!
NOTE when I leased both vehicles I specifically asked the salesman over and over if there was going to be any dispositon fees at the end of lease IF I JUST TURNED THE CAR IN AND DIDN'T LEASE ANOTHER and or if I decided to lease another or if I turned it in and bought a new or used car! (Note that I have dealt with this dealership buying vehicles for YEARS) and I was told over and over again that there would be NO DISPOSITION FEES OR ANY OTHER KINDS OF FEES at the end of the lease!!!!
I sent them a payment to be applied to my last lease payment on the 3rd of October. Today OCT 10 I got an email alert stating that my credit score, which was almost 800 had changed.... It dropped 91 points! I went in to check why and it was because GM AUTO contacted Experian and put a late payment alert on my credit report!! I WILL NEVER USE GM AGAIN AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM/CHEVY VEHICLE AGAIN!!!

When I found out I called, paid to date and never was late before or after this change in my account. I have called 20 times. Nobody calls me back. They do not send me info I ask for. For my attorney to follow up. And fix this illegal act of changing agreements. I will not buy and thing that has to do with GM.

I recently contacted GM Financial to make a payment. I was a little late on my car payment because I was recently laid off from my prior employer and took a bit to get my first unemployment funds. I called to make a payment and was advised since I was behind I need to set up an ACH payment using my checking account with the representative over the phone. So I had. I was never advised of a $10 fee per transaction/phone payment I had set up (1 had 2 set). I was never advised of this fee for a phone payment, and was very shocked and upset when I saw the 10 transaction come out of my account and caused my car payment to bounced, now tacking on a overdraft fee on my account. I am furious this fee was NOT disclosed prior to authorizing my phone payment and I do plan to see legal assistance regarding this.

Be very careful when dealing with GM. If you are Financed or leased through GM and your vehicle goes down for warranty issues, they will tell you that GM will reimburse you for the period you are without your vehicle. What they will not tell you is, that if you trade your vehicle in after your problem is fix they will not credit you for the months you were without the vehicle you are paying for. I had a 2017 Camaro SS that needed to have a motor replaced. Covered under warranty of course. For the month I was without my vehicle I was told by Arron that GM would Reimburse me for the month I was without said vehicle.
After the repairs was completed I didn't feel comfortable in that vehicle with my child. So I traded it. But because I traded it in, I no longer am eligible for my Reimbursement. Even though I still had the vehicle and also that I paid for the month that my vehicle was in the shop being repaired. So before you go with GM Financial make sure you record and document any all that is said when requiring any type of warranty issue! I will NEVER use GM Financial nor would I ever consider Recommending them.

Leased a Cadillac for 3 years. Made every payment on time or early. Turned vehicle in on time. Received an invoice for $650.00 because I did not purchase or lease another GM product. After calls to GM no one could explain why this was hidden in small print of lease contract (or at least verbally disclosed). After paying amount of 650.00 in full but late (from trying to get answers) a 7.00 late fee was added. No one called or sent an invoice for the $7.00. GM destroyed my credit score of 830 to 650 for a non-disclosed SEVEN DOLLARS. I will never do business with any GM Companies.

Bought a 2018 Chevy Cruze from local dealership, financed thru GM Financial. First payment due statement, dated the 10th of each month, always received on the third week of each month. Payment due on the 30th. I always paid ahead 1 month to avoid late fees as the payment center is in Phoenix AZ. Asked customer service for a payoff quote. Never received. Paid off loan in full Aug 12th, Asked customer service when I get the title, was told Sept 4th and would be delivered to my home address. Received a letter dated Sept 4th on Sept 11th, no title & letter states Ohio sends electronic to County DMV.

I have requested GM Financial to fax 10 day payoff and copy of title to new lender on 8 occasions but they have not done so. This has gone on for 4 weeks. Each time they state it will be done within 24 hours or "the next few hours" but they don't do it, thereby hanging on to loan I have the right to change over. It seems crazy that they would lose a GM customer for life for an extra payment but that's been their choice. I would never again get a loan from them or buy another GM/Chevy product.

My lease officially ended May 2019 and I keep getting reoccurring debits every month for the lease amount. Sad thing is I decided to purchase the vehicle and I am forced to make double payments every month. To get reimbursed it takes at least 30 days most of the time later in a mailed check form. I have called numerous times to try and sort out the situation and they never get it right. I wish I had went with Ford at this point. Never leasing through GM Financial again. Horrible experience and a financial strain on my family.

GM Financial called last Thursday to advise that last 3 lease payments were missing. This was 1st notification and I called dealership who confirmed they forgot to mail payment when I turned in lease for new vehicle. GM Financial still reported me as late to credit bureaus on Friday even though it was a dealership error and the payment was to be processed. Shame on GM Financial for ruining credit of a 40 year GM customer who has never been late!

I was never late on my 39 payments. Should return my car May 11, 2019 and returned April 30,2019 (10 days earlier) because I was moving from Florida to Arizona, again May month was paid. May 4 I arrived in Arizona and called GM Financial to know how I was going to pay for my Disposition fee. I was aware and that's why I called, TO PAY (when your lease is over they charge you $395 to put the car back in their warehouse). The customer service representative told me to wait 60 days until I receive a letter charging. They already had my new address before I moved. I asked if I could pay over the phone. They said no, checks only. 60 days passed and nothing.
I called again. They said they sent the letter and should be arriving soon. Sfter another week my name was in collection. My score dropped 29 points, ohhh man I was MAD!!!! I called again and they said the letter was returned and I owed $429.00. I asked why they didn't call before putting my name in collection? Same day I wrote a check and sent over. Kept calling to check if they received the payment. They got it, in my mind it was over. Today, August 31st, I received a letter saying that I have a balance due of $0.37, disposition fee of $395.00 + tax ($34.37). The tax corresponds to a 8.7%, Florida sales tax is 6%. Again, when I called they said $429.00, now they are charging $0.37 cents. I just wrote a check of $0.37 and will be sending Tuesday after Labor Day. It ruined my entire experience with GM Financial. SO JUST BE AWARE WHEN YOU RETURN YOUR LEASED VEHICLE.

I am being charged $495.00 disposition fee for a meticulously maintained GMC Terrain with 13,000 miles less than what was agreed upon. I had on 7 attempts to purchase outright or lease another vehicle from them, however, the money required down as well as the upfront money was way beyond what I was paying. Iam now being held hostage to pay this incredibly high fee. I did everything within my means over the course of 3 months prior to lease expiration to get another one but to no avail. As a retired individual on a fixed income, my wife and I were forced to go to a one car family. I tried to rationalize this to several different customer service reps. and there supervisor, but, to no avail. We have been long term supporters of GM and my family have either leased or purchased 6 vehicles in the past 2 years. So much for customer loyalty.
We will not support GM products in the future. I offered them a settlement or pay over time and they said it would reflect on my credit which is stellar. I am so discouraged by this and at 65 years of age to have a negative remark against my credit is very disheartening. GM just doesn't care so please beware of this happening to you.

I had a 72 payment contract. I took a couple deferments over the 6 years and had a balloon payment at the end. It was more than I could pay within 30 days. I called to see if they could modify my contract. They did it without a hitch. Calculated estimated payments that were very low and sent me the new agreement. Absolutely no hassle. Over the course of the loan I had a few problems making the payments on time. But they allowed me to defer payments without any hassles. I never dinged my credit report by missing payments. Very easy to work with. Very friendly.

Leased a truck from GMF, called for pay off. I was given a number so I sent in a check. Called to see when I would get the title. 14 Days I was told. Well it took 20 days, and then I received the title with both names on it so it will now take 10-14 days for my state to send me a title with just my name on it because I cannot pass it on to the new owner with the title I received from GMF. I was told it cost $25 and GMF does not want to absorb the cost, understandable.. BUT they could have ask for the $25 added to pay off to save me time and BIG headache. People need to think. Everyone I talked to all the way up to manager had nothing to say.

I leased my first vehicle in July 2017 for 2 years and decided not to renew my lease in July 2019 as the quotes were out of my budget. ISSUE #1, the salesman at Ed Rinke Chevrolet did not tell me about the disposition fee if I did not renew or purchase a vehicle, so needless to say I am being billed $395. ISSUE #2, I had a small (<0.5 inch) windshield chip that is in the GM Financial lease return book as normal wear, HOWEVER per Randall (ID **) the AutoVIN inspector (GM Financial auto inspection company) took a photo of the chip (on an angle and tape measure starting past the beginning of the chip) documented that the chip was >0.5 inch. I have taken multiple straight on photos using the GM Financial windshield chip/crack measuring template provided by them and clearly the chip is <0.5 inch.
I called GM Financial 800-369-5212, spoke with rep Scott (**) and he, along with his supervisor/manager looked at the AutoVIN photos and determined that I would not be billed as the chip was <0.5 inch. I requested an email and/or letter stating that as I was turning in my vehicle, although they couldn't do that. I returned the lease and more than a month later I received a bill from GM Financial stating that I had 20 days to pay the Disposition Fee $395 AND the Excess Wear Charge $309.52 for a total of $746.79 (includes taxes & official fees). I called GM Financial 800-369-5212 to dispute this, was transferred to the dispute line 877-203-5535, spoke with Rob (no ID given), whom documented my dispute and said someone would contact me in 24-48 hours.
After no callback, I called the dispute line 877-203-5535, spoke with rep Tyler (ID 025180), she stated that the Sales of Operations Department (physically) went to the auction house to view the vehicle and determined that the chip was >0.5 inch and that I was liable for the bill. I requested to speak to a supervisor or manager, and after multiple times asking, I was told there was no manager available, but an escalation specialist, Courtney (ID **) was available. So, I talked with Courtney, and as I assumed this lead nowhere as well.
I again called the GM Financial Customer Service 800-284-2271, spoke with rep Brittany (ID **), requesting to speak to a Sales of Operations manager, and I was told that they only communicate via email internally and do not have a phone number. So basically, to some it up, GM Financial is very happy to talk to you and get you to sign on the dotted line, HOWEVER if you want to discuss anything other than you are willing to pay them, they will not speak to you. So for anyone who is interested in leasing a GM vehicle and going through GM Financial, I bid you fair warning.... DO NOT DO IT!

After dealing with this company's fanatics throughout the last year, I decided to refinance my vehicle through a separate credit union. I made my final payment through my GM Financial account and the new lienholder sent GM Financial a payoff amount to cover the remaining balance, on the same day, paying the amount and principal balance in full. Upon checking on my account two weeks after my payment was made, I logged onto my GM Financial account and noticed that the last payment I made was still processing. Keep in mind my new lienholder has the title car and I have set up an account through them to make my future payments status post refinancing. I spoke with a GM customer service representative over the phone and they informed me that the payment had been rejected.
I understand that because of this issue, the account/loan was technically not closed, ultimately acquiring interest. My issue is that if I had not called, two weeks after my payment was made, my account would have continued to acquire interest because the payment remained as being "processed" when in actuality it was rejected. I do not expect GM Financial to inform me of every transaction that is made, but I do expect them to inform me if a payment was not processed/rejected so I can attribute payments accordingly.
Upon, speaking to a second representative, they provided a ten day payoff quote of the interest that acquired while my payment was "processing" and stated that even after I made the proper payment to close the loan, my interest would continue to acquire fees if it was not paid on or before the deadline for the payoff quote, even if my loan was paid in full. How can you acquire fees on interest for a loan that is closed is beyond me. GM Financial are just money hungry and care nothing about their integrity, reputation or customers. My family was a Chevy/GMC family, but I will GLADLY purchase a Ford to avoid all of this nonsense.
