Went in just to get the frames of my wife's glasses bent back to normal. They got bent in a box from packing. They told me she had to be there. I told them if she could be here she would. Just want them bent back so when you set them down all four corners touch. They said no and insinuated that my wife's head might be crooked or that's how I took it. Should I have told them she was in the hospital? I don't think it would have mattered. I can see why this America's Best had no customers. 6 employees working and not one customer. I just wanted them straightened out. I will drive 60 miles out of my way to my old America's Best where they will help you. And that is in Boise Idaho. Avoid this store on marketplace in Nampa Idaho like the plague. Amazing how 30 miles can just change people. These people have no place in customer service. Good luck to you.

I am deeply disappointed in America's Best, it cost me over $800 for contacts and glasses. It is not better, it’s worse. I would rather go to an eye doctor where it’s not a scam. The eye doctor was good but the glasses guy that checked us out was awful. No explaining, no idea what was going on. Save the money, don’t go here!!!! I will be going back to an eye doctor and now my contacts are delayed. He only gave me 4 days' supply! Awful experience.

I would not recommend the Westport Rd. Louisville, KY. location. The optometrist could not get my prescription right after 3 trial pairs in the office. He eventually offered to change the prescription to my old prescription but this defeats the point of getting a current exam. I was not confident at all that I had received a good exam. The office staff was polite and the manager apologized for my experience. I was not charged for the visit but unfortunately I will now have to carve two hours out of my week to be seen elsewhere.

Had an appointment in the Tigard, OR office for a much overdue eye exam. The technician and doctor (Dr. **) were friendly and very efficient. My questions were answered and I felt no push to get out the door. When I told them I was ordering my glasses from Zenni and just needed a prescription, there was no animosity at all. I would highly recommend them and they are very reasonably priced.

The eye Dr's are awesome and most of the other staff but the quality has gone WAY down unless you get the 300$ glasses (which we all can't afford). So I got the basic ones and one pair pushed into the side of my head and cause pain and the other pair fit nice until they literally fell apart in my hand, if you can't afford 300$ glasses don't go here or you get 0 quality.

The America's Best experience seems to vary with store and staff. The worst experience was in Yonkers. Customer service is poor. Front door staff person is unwelcoming and does nothing to try and accommodate requests. The poor level of customer service is not worth the eyeglass savings. Compare stores, they differ in quality. You may have to travel a bit to get to a decent one.

Had a great experience at America's Best of Gastonia. Lesley B was incredibly helpful in resolving my issues and even took extra time and effort to assist me in attempting to find a frame that had been discontinued. She called other locations and sent out a request in hopes that she could find the specific frames I was seeking. Lesley showed me similar styles, but in no way pressured me to purchase anything. She has wonderful customer service skills and is a genuinely kind person. I will definitely continue doing business here.

I went there again, to get new glasses because the last time I couldn't see well. In fact, they were blurry. I went without their glasses and continued with my old pair. Anyway, I went again, and explained to the dr that the last pair were a waste of money and horrible as I wasnt able to use them. Anyway, I decided on one more chance. This time the dr did take his time. Anyway, by 3 weeks no one had called me. I called them, only to find out that they werent even sent out. They did promise that they would be back within 3 days and they were. Problem tho. They only found one pair and I had ordered two. The person "M" offered me a refund and I just took it because they had no idea what happened to the 2nd pair. I was very disappointed to say the least. Now I will just order online.

Other places I have been, I get my trial lenses in a week and then just pick them up, I have never had to see the doctor again unless there was a problem with the lenses.

This was my second WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE using the America's Best Eyeglasses. I have to say, they really care about their customer satisfaction. I'm very pleased that they opened another beautiful store, here in Clearwater Florida on Gulf to Bay Blvd., because it's closer to home! This time I had a free eye exam worth $69.00, I could have had a more in depth eye screening, but I see an eye surgeon 2 times a year to get the imaging done, so it wasn't necessary. I called this location in the middle of the afternoon and the doctor could see me in 25 minutes, so I decided to go. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was greeted by a couple of very friendly staff members.

I was shown to the least expensive frames I asked for, budget is essential to me! I wanted one pair of trifocal transition glasses for everyday and trifocal sunglasses for driving. I made my decisions about the frames which were very much high end looking, not at all cheap materials for the price! Thanks to the helpful opinions of Toni Ann, Daniel, Emily and Steph! Next, Dr. Paulina ** did my eye exam. She is fabulous, she took the time to get to know about me and how I live, my accident related to the paralysis of one eye, my needs in the sunlight, etc. She's very smart and personable. Next, Steph measured my frames and marked my lenses for the correct trifocal height. I might add, we practically shook the place laughing!

Lastly, I believe Isabelle was the one, forgive my brain lol, who re-checked the measurements of the glasses, then I paid for my glasses and within a week I was able to pick up my new, beautifully made glasses, for less than $425! I'm seeing better and safer on the road, now that I'm wearing prescription sunglasses, not squinting through over the glasses ones that distort things. Thank you everyone, America's Best Eyeglasses is really the best!

Asked for a refund. No one called me back. l ended up going to Walmart of all places. Got great customer service and glasses within a week. l would recommend going to Walmart than there. The free eye exam isn't worth waiting a month and having to take a Uber to get around cause you can't see to legally drive not to mention the headaches you have to deal with while waiting. Not a good place to go. Try someplace else before considering this place.

Two weeks ago I had an eye appointment. I literally took pictures of the frames in the store. I later sent them to the online email Department and asked specifically the types and prices of lenses that would fit the frame. Days went by and instead of answering the direct questions online, the female referred me to a phone number to call. I called the number and it took 30 minutes for a different female representative to not know simple questions and it was like pulling teeth in order to get a direct answer.

After the apparent useless conversation, she lied and claimed that she would put the items in my cart so that all I had to do was go online and make the purchase. Needless to say that never happened. I called the next day and explained the situation all over again to another female representative. Somehow she put me on hold and came back to the phone and said that she changed my account password. I informed her that I said nothing about a password but she was defiant, claiming that is what I asked her to do, despite the phone call being recorded.

Days later the supervisor finally contacted me and she was so clueless that she asked me if I still needed to know the price of an item. She clearly didn't do her due diligence and gloss over the notes regarding my account. So after weeks of me not having my glasses, I realize that America's Best Has Fallen all the way off and it is a well-rounded catastrophe. They need to be investigated because people's vision is at risk. These female employees were terribly strong-willed on not listening while being unprofessional. I basically had to try and teach customer service to their non-existent customer service but they still couldn't figure it out. So after 15 years, I've come to the conclusion that America's Best is TRASH at best.

I had my exam and was issued my RX for glasses and contacts. My glasses RX was totally different from what I have had in the past, contact RX was good, but I didn't question the change because I am not the professional. When I received my glasses my right eye was out of focus on the glasses because the RX was wrong. I called and they had me come in for a "Retest" and they said my RX was good, but when they printed it out it was TOTALLY different. Now I am going to pay out of pocket, because I used my insurance on them, to go get the right RX for my eyes. I wasted time, money and energy and will never do this again. Ship to their store and then they screw around transferring the order? Makes no sense..

Did have a good clerk after the fact that assisted in selecting the best deal. I waited ten days then called to check to see if my glasses arrived. It was told me that one pair had arrived but the second pair had not. I was also told I'd receive a text message when both pairs had arrived and were ready for pickup. I received that text message late that same day. The next day I went in to find that only one pair had arrived. Two trips will have to be made now. The glasses I did receive for distance have a blurry edge all the way around both lenses. (The glasses are clean.) That is one issue...

I will wait for the second pair... the reading glasses. (Not the progressive lenses I desired but due to the deal I went this route and unless perfect will buy a pair of progressive lens glasses as well.) Two trips a must, a blurry set of lenses I doubt I can ever wear for distance. Now waiting on the second pair... May be three strikes but two strikes is already bad....

My review is a warning not to go to the Riverdale America's Best in Coon Rapids Mn. My wife and I needed new glasses, went to America's Best, eye exam was good, rushed but fine. We then found out we don't get the eyeglass special if we want to use our vision insurance. Ended up being $300 instead. Gail the manager took care of us, she was very nice while we were spending money. I ordered 2 pair of glasses, both transition lens and both progressive lenses. In other words, two pair of no-line bifocals that darker when in the sun. I also ordered a spare pair of just frames because I tend to break the bows. When the glasses came they were lined bifocals. I said that's not what I ordered and was told that's what was ordered.

Sent them back to be redone, they arrived a week or so later. This time the spare frame had my distance vision prescription in them. Not what I ordered. One of the other pair had what I had ordered, the second pair were prescription brown sunglasses, again not what I ordered. At this point Gail (the store manager) said quite loudly, enough to have other customers look our direction, "You're costing me a lot of money, I'll send them back but it's the last time". I replied I didn't cost them a dime, it is their mistakes costing them money. She said, "You got free Distance vision lens in the spare frame." I said again, "Because of your mistakes. I didn't ask for free lenses." Throughout the conversation she was rude.

They sent the sunglasses back, a week or so later I got the correct glasses in the mail. No fitting, no adjustments on my glasses, I won't go back to the Riverdale store. Their customer service is about the worst I've run into. Now I'm having trouble seeing at night with the new glasses, makes me wonder if the rushed eye exam gave me the right prescription.

From the terrible product manufactured at their "lab", to the lack of communication with updates, disheveled staff and even an "Area Manager" in from out of town, it was all a bad dream...until I had to return the $800 glasses 2 months later as the "scratch resistant" coating was non-existent. They sent the lenses into the lab, fortunately I had my old script that my eyes adjusted to. Hooray! I got a call that the lenses were in, only to find out they didn't fit my frames any longer.....Back to the lab they went.

I got the automated call to tell me they were in. When I arrived, after drawers were rooted through, I was told, after the staff member looked my info up on the computer, that they were still "in transit." A total of 16 days went by and I called concerned. As suspected, they were there, "just came in today and they were getting ready to call me." When I arrived, they couldn't find them again, frantically looking for another name the associate was referring to me as I constantly corrected her pronunciation. After a while, they indeed found the elusive glasses and I ran out the door, I won't look back or BE back.

Ok I usually go to Walmart but decided to give them a try and I definitely regret it! The doctor himself was a nice guy and the lady doing the pre-exam. They did my exam asked what kind of contacts I wear and said they only have their brand but they are similar to the ones I wear. Well right away I could tell that wasn’t the case, they were much larger and hard to put in. The doctor had to help me get on it. Well at first they were ok but I could tell they were in there and by the time I got home were bothering me. Had to take the right one out because my eye was burning bad. I have really bad eyesight -8.5 in the left eye and -8 in the right so now I can’t even see.

I also got a script for glasses because my other pair broke so I don’t have any backup. I called them to ask if there was ANY they could find a pair of my contacts like call other doctors until my order came in. They were so rude and so dismissive as if I didn’t even matter. Told him my eyes were burning and he didn’t even recommend me coming in so they could look at my eyes. Told me he could order my brand sample but it would be two weeks. Told him I already ordered them, I just need one pair to last me the 3-5 days it’s going to take. Basically pleading with him at this point for help, and he just dismissed me as if I weren’t even a person. NEVER AGAIN! I do not recommend them at all, they don’t give a ** about you and only care about the money they make.

Pricing is nonsense and misleading. So for example, two pairs for 79 dollars. It's for frames from blue wall, and plastic single vision. So, if you want to have one pair as a spare, and upgrade one pair, the deal goes away. It becomes one pair for 79 dollars plus the price of the upgrades, and now the second pair costs 60% or 48 dollars. Seems like the extra cost should just be for the upgrades. But nope, it adds the cost of the upgrades plus 60% of the original price. So, if you were to add a 20 dollar upgrade to one pair, the cost for two pairs would be $147, not $99. It's their policy, I just want everyone to be aware.

I went in to get my nose pads changed (Beavercreek OH), and they ruined my glasses! I left spending $291 after their "gracious" discount as compensation for what they did to my current pair. First, the tech put the pads on backwards, and then, after constant manipulation of the pad's stem, my glasses don't sit right. I spent over 2 hours there, ruining my Saturday afternoon. I didn't get mad. The techs tried to make the situation right by offering a 40% discount, but that still required me to pay $291! Long story short, I called today. I found my current frames on eBay for $35.99. They didn't hurt the lens, so they could be salvaged. I asked the manager if she wanted to compensate me for the $35.99 for just the frames, but she said they didn't have a way on their register to enter that kind of transaction (I guess customer goodwill is out). I finally asked point-blank: Do you want to apologize for the inconvenience? -- Nothing! Not a darn word! BEWARE! Horrible customer service!

The employees are not only disorganized, they are incompetent and rude. Over the course of 3 years, they have misplaced my files, forgotten my prescriptions, canceled my appointments, and forgotten to place orders on frames I never received while still charging my insurance. I spoke with various "managers" over the years about their questionable practices, and nothing changed. Recently, I tried to switch to contacts. After 2 eye exams, 3 different doctors, and a variety of trial contacts that did NOT match my vision needs, I was highly discouraged. The doctors would give me a trial set and tell me to come back in a week to follow up. At one point, one of the doctors told me that the previous doctor had my contacts in the wrong eye. So, he switched them and told me AGAIN to come back in a week. Frustratingly, I continued my commitment to become a successful contact lens wearer by persistently attempting to meet with the doctors.

After 3 months of persistently following up, receiving confusing/conflicting information, seeing different "substitute doctors", dealing with inconsistency, long wait times, and everchanging lens strength, I was ready to quit. I was going to try one last time to follow up and try to get the right prescription. Again, I made an appointment, and they cancelled via email rescheduling me to another time (ugh). Begrudgingly, I made changes to my schedule to make the appointment. When I got there, a woman claiming to be a manager, Destiny, met me at the counter and told me she had to charge my insurance again, even though that was not the policy. The issue was that they could not find the right treatment for my vision needs. I did not need to do another eye exam, I needed a qualified medical professional to make an accurate assessment on the eye exam in which I already paid for.

My follow-up appointments were due to negligence on behalf of the doctor’s interpreting my exams, not from inconclusive data on my end. I responded with, "No, I've already been charged for the eye exams covered by my insurance, you guys are the ones who are having a hard time with my prescription." She then said, "You have been in 3 times and the contacts still aren't right, contact lenses obviously are not for you, and there is nothing left we can help you with." She was very rude, and I was concerned as to why she would say that, as she is not a doctor. I recorded the whole interaction and have spoken to my attorney. I would not recommend this location at all.

First available appointment was in the Jacksonville store location in River City shopping district. I was pleasantly greeted upon entering the store for my 10am appt. I was signed in and shown where to wait for the technician to do our eye testing for the Dr. to review. I did not wait more than a couple minutes to hear my name called. The technician was efficient and kind. Again within minutes I was greeted by Dr. ** who is a lovely human being. I felt he asked pertinent questions during my exam which lead to the prescription he wrote. I was very pleased with the interaction.

My next step was to receive instructions on how to handle, put in and take out the contact lenses. This was a little tense for me but I achieved the mandatory three times placing and removing the lens. The gentleman who instructed me said I did very well and brought me to the door and stepped outside to see if I could see with my new contact lenses. I did in fact see everything he pointed out. I was excited to be wearing contact lenses however I kept saying things were still a little bit blurry. I was told my eyes will adjust and I felt confident they would. When I got to my place of business, 2 hrs away, I was watching the clock to remove the lenses after wearing them for four hours as instructed.

I attempted to remove the Right eye lens and could not get it. I moved on to the Left eye and had no problem removing that one. After almost 20 min with no success, I stopped and rested my eyes and tried again 30 min later. I was dragging the area over my cornea down toward the bottom onto the white of my eye that didn't work, I watched a video and they suggested moving to it the right on the white of the eye, tried that with no success. After several more attempts, using a bright light and magnifying mirror I gave up.

At 6pm I called the local America's Best in Ocala and asked for assistance. They did not have an optometrist in until Friday, it is now Wednesday. The very nice person BETH suggested I flush the Right eye with the saline they gave me with the contacts. If I'm not feeling it in my eye or if I don't see the lens looking up down and side to side, it's likely it's not there at all. Beth put me at ease and allowed me to relax. She reiterated that she would be in the next day but the Dr would not be in until Friday. This could explain why I felt blurry vision when I left the initial location. I must not have placed the lens back in my right eye at my practice session.

Fortunately Thursday I had business in Gainesville and walked into the America's Best store there. They received me graciously and without a minute's hesitation LINDA looked up my record on her computer, asked for my ID and gifted me another complete pair of contacts in the prescription that was given to me by Dr. **. Thank you so much LINDA.

This allowed me to keep using the prescription in preparation for the two week follow up to evaluate the correct lenses for my vision correction. I cannot say enough about the organization of this company. Appointments, eye tests, meeting with Dr for evaluation and getting a great pair of glasses or contacts with ease for amazingly low prices! I couldn't be happier with the staff and organization. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Despite this 1-star visit yesterday here, I still made a purchase. That's because I have the patience of a saint & because Sheena (Sales) made it right for them. TY Sheena. This HORRIBLE 1-star experience was due to the abysmal customer/patient care by Lizzy + EMILY. >>> 1st; I show up 15min early for my 1pm appt. I was unexcitedly/rudely greeted by Lizzy at the front desk who was simultaneously somewhat helping another guest in front of me. Despite that, while seated firmly in her chair rather than standing to greet a guest while still helping another guest, she RUDELY asked what I was there for (wow!...So I say I'm was there for an eye exam & to buy glasses per the appt I setup in advance, pretty basic set of facts - hence the reason being there, it's a retail store for glasses/eye exams).

    >>>She then, while the other guest is still in front of her/me, ask for my PRIVATE INFO while this person is standing there (wow!...breach of privacy is obviously not a concern for her...So I say sure, here is my insurance card that should help you). She then tries to push me in for "the exam" despite me informing her in advance of that that I wanted to look at glasses/frames 1st to try to find a style that would work for me, which would be more logical of an approach to start the process off. She reluctantly agrees to this (wow!...like I need her permission to look at their selection of glasses/frames as an open-door retail storefront?!? WTH, is she a "bouncer" at a nightclub?!), so I then walk over to look/browse at their selection, with Lizzy obviously upset/dismayed about this. This interaction with Lizzy spans about 15 min or so getting them info/etc/Q&A to get all of details in their systems.

    >>>Then, after about 5min of me looking at their selection of glasses/frames, EMILY (from the sales floor) decides to chime in by rudely addressing me as I'm patiently browsing their selection & tells me that "I have to, I MUST, MAKE A QUICK DECISION" on "what I wanted to do" or else "they couldn't help me on my visit" because the doctor was going to lunch at 1:30pm (wow!!!...this is ALL HAPPENING 20 minutes prior to that). LMFAO!!! (Wow!!!...so there's ONLY 1 DOCTOR in the whole facility or they ALL GO TO LUNCH at the same time, what kind of organizational capacity is this!?! Like, what in the actual heck is happening & who let the dang children (Lizzy/EMILY) run the daycare!?).

EMILY 100% lacks tact, situational awareness, & the demeanor to be engaging with retail customers/patients. Makes no sense on earth for a sales associate, in the middle of business hours, to interject themselves blindly & brazenly into a situation to try to force a customer/patient into buying something "the way they want" them to. Bush League & Disrespectful, period!

    >>> So much for white privilege & wearing a $7,000 watch to avoid being negatively "profiled" by this EMILY, who is obviously an under-educated, short-witted, condescending rep that needs to be re-educated on how to interact with the public. Whoever runs the operations here, should without a doubt sit EMILY down to (1) educate her on the reality of who signs her paycheck, (2) re-train her on how to interact as a pro with customers/patients, & (3) advise her that this is her fair-warning on redeeming herself by revamping her demeanor & skill-set as a valued member of their organization or to face termination for being horrific at her job.

    >>> So, back to her disrespectful comments towards me, I asked EMILY, where on their front door, or while making the APPT FOR THIS VISIT, does it or did it say I "have to MAKE A QUICK DECISION" to do business with them while spending "MY MONEY"? She had no intelligible answer to that appropriate question. I told her I would take AS LONG AS I NEEDED TO IN MAKING A DECISION before spending MY MONEY, to which, she smirks and laughs to which I tell her to refrain from telling me how & what I can do with how I shop & make decisions with my money while kindly shopping there. >>> FACT: AVOID EMILY & LIZZY at all cost at this location.

I decided to start wearing contacts again. I went there hoping I'd get good service and prices but the service is subpar so I don't plan on continuing with them to see about good prices. To start off with, the exam took less than 2 minutes and I'm not exaggerating. I found that strange but they're the experts, right? After the exam I sat with an employee to discuss my options. I explained that there is only one brand that has worked for me. He insists that I start with the "house" contacts first. Okay, that's fine. He was aware that I require bifocals but told me that the trial pair would be in the following week. I never received a phone call so I called them. No, they're not in yet. I call back 2 weeks later. I was informed because of my prescription that it takes longer for them to come in and no they are not in yet and someone will call me when they do come in. I wait another week and still no phone call. So, I call the 1-800 customer care.

She explains that they are at the store right now. So much for that phone call, right? They can't get me in for another week to try the pair on. So far we're going on at least a month waiting for these contacts. Try them on, employee has me read a chart and I can see it, no problem. What I can't see is my hand right in front of my face. Dr. comes in, I tell him about my non-existent up close vision and he says he will make the bifocal stronger. Fine. I kept the trial pair I had in and went ahead and wore them and kept a pair of reading glasses on me. Everything was fine at first, but they started drying my eyes out (just like I explained to the employee who insisted I get the "house" pair) My right eye is completely blurry, all the time. That's when I start thinking about my 2nd visit.

The Dr. never once looked into my eyes to see if the contacts were fitting correctly. It's possible that the weight is off and they keep rotating or most likely the entire prescription is probably wrong. On my first visit I was given my prescription for glasses that I could take anywhere to buy glasses. Okay, well I wanted my contact prescription, too. I'm told they can only give me that once I find a trial pair of contacts that fit and that I can see clearly through. So, what does that say about my glasses? How can my contacts be the correct prescription but my contacts may need an adjustment? That doesn't sound right to me. Anyway, I still haven't received a call about the other pair I should be receiving, but I won't be able to use those anyway because like I said earlier, either the weight is off or the prescription is wrong so I will have to wait another month after 2 months of waiting already?

Also, when the Dr. said on my 2nd visit that he will make the bifocal stronger, he never checked my vision to see how much stronger the bifocals needed to be!! I'm trusting these people because they're supposed to know what they're doing. I've decided that I'm not using them. I'm going to ask for my money back on the exam and take my business elsewhere. I just got now got off the phone with Customer care. They informed me that the store would be responsible for my refund so the lady called the store for me and told them the situation. The manager at the store called me and asked when would be a good time for me to come in and get my refund. The lady at the 1-800 number was super nice and helpful. The outcome was what I wanted and I'm very happy to be able to take my refund and go somewhere else.

America's Best run advertisements about getting eyeglasses at a good price. That may be possible if you want very plain glasses only. You only walk in there if you intend to pay at least $400.00 or more. They certainly are not the best, not the most reasonably priced nor the most professional.

I'm basic and don't have to wear designer glasses so a contact lenses exam, 2 pair of glasses (with a progressive lens) all for around $250. Total price at America's Best completely eliminates the need to carry costly vision insurance. Guarantee vision insurance is more than. $250 a year.

They don't put your real eye measurement in the contact prescription. They just decide what brand contacts you should get, then write the size of the contacts as if that was your real eye measurement. What if you went to a shoe store, and the shoe salesman decided you should get Reebok shoes, but they only came in size 7. Then for your shoe size chart, they wrote the size of the Reebok shoe they sold you rather than your real foot measurement. That way you’re locked into buying Reeboks rather than a brand that fits your foot. I went in asking for Freshlook Colorblends, but they sold me AirOptix Colors because that was the latest greatest. They were horrible and didn’t fit my eye. I ended up with red eye. They gave me the wrong prescription in my left eye to boot because they decided I was older and wouldn’t see up close even though I see near great

WARNING! Pay attention to ALL the negative reviews they are 100% accurate. The horrible experience was from beginning to end. 1. No one helped me choose eyewear. I had to choose my own. 2. When the lady finally helped to take the measurements for my lenses she commented “if that’s the lens you want for your face then fine.“ I was appalled at her comment but having had everything already done figured let me just finish with this sale and never come back. But it only gets worse from there. 3. Two and a half weeks later after not hearing from them I called to see if the eyeglasses were ready. I was told they weren’t and not to call asking they will call me.

    4. Two more weeks later I called and they were ready. I never received a call. At this time the woman who answers insisted on mispronouncing my name even after I corrected her. It’s a simple name to say but she wanted to pronounce it her way which was offensive as her pronounciation is a Wicca practice. 5. I went to go pick up my glasses and I was completely insulted at the treatment. Then lady at the front desk handed me the glasses and said “Here let us know if you need them fixed”. I was left alone at the table to adjust the bridge myself and look for things to read to make sure the strength was correct because she sat back at her computer and ignored my presence.

I got a pair of designer frames and they gave me a cheap plastic generic case. That was a ripoff. You could never get me to go back even if they were giving away $$ with free eyewear. The experience was so bad I will be emailing my insurance company in hopes they are removed from acceptable opticals my insurance covers.

I received the 2nd 2 pairs, and they were obviously not made correctly; the prescription was way off and I couldn't see with them. So these had to be re-made. Since then I have noticed with all 4 pairs that the left lens is 'correct' (crisp, clear vision) BUT the right lens is not. Vision is blurry. I didn't notice it initially, but since I have it has become annoying. SO I called them to try to fix the problem and was told they will only repair problems within 90 days of purchase. It seems to me that since the problem is obviously their fault - they would be willing to fix it. But, unfortunately, they are more interested in not losing a small amount of money than their reputation. I do not recommend America's Best.

A month-long saga ended today. Went to Target Optical for my annual exam and I needed to update my 2-year-old pair. They didn't have anything I liked that day, so I went to America's Best. After an hour of trying on glasses in half the store, I settled on a pair. I thought getting the order for them would be painless. It wasn't. The staff member handed me off to the manager, which struck me odd. It's glasses, not a car dealership. She was a bit off-putting with an attitude, which I found unnecessary and not very encouraging.

The manager was going through the options and wrote me up for the most expensive progressive they have for $385 without tax, not including the frame. I told her flat out I don't need anti-glare or transition lenses nor do I care about thin lenses (my current pair aren't thin and I don't care). I literally had to haggle them down to a reasonable price even with insurance. Total cost of $209. I paid for the pair and immediately had a sinking feeling, but couldn't put my finger on why.

5 days later my glasses were in despite being told 10 days was the turnaround time (which was typical for past pairs). I went to pick them up and tried them on. I was handed a laminated card with various policies written on it in differing sizes and font colors. I found the glasses to be painful to my eyes. I equated this from wearing my current glasses all day. I sat there looking and pondering because these were hard to see out of. I told the staff member, I don't know if they were good or not, so I will test them out for a couple of days to see if they work for me.

I got home and put them on again. I looked out the back window to see how clearly I saw the house number across the street that I could see with my current pair. I couldn't see jack **. The new pair had only one good spot to see out of and the rest of the lenses had a fish-eye effect. It was virtually unusable. I couldn't even see the minute details of the floorboards from across the room nor see the computer screen properly. Not to mention the eye pain was crippling in my left eye, so I put on my old pair and put away the new pair.

It's the first time I've ever had a garbage progressive pair of glasses. I thought they screwed them up. I tried wearing them a few times, but could not stand wearing them for more than 5 minutes. I went back to Target Optical where I did my exam to a) get the new pair measured and b) replace the frame of my current pair because I screwed up the arm.

They assured me the script in the America's Best pair were correct, but mentioned the lenses were convex and that it could be the position of the glasses on my face that is causing issues. They tried adjusting them. They suggested I go back to America's Best to get them remade and if they will not help me or refund me, Target will work a solution. At least I had a backup.

I remembered I have a 30-day return window. I went back last Wednesday and met with the staff member who first gave me the glasses when I picked them up. I explained my predicament and she thought maybe it was a differing material causing the issue. I told her the lenses were oddly convex versus the flatter profile of my old pair. I thought the convex was causing the severe distortion. I told her that I had Target measure the pair to check that the prescription was correct (it was), but that I could not see out of them and it was painful. She was curious to see what material was used on my Target pair. I went home to locate my old packet from 2020 for my current glasses. I didn't have it and Target didn't keep that on file, only the prescription.

I go back to America's Best the day after and I have to deal with the manager again. I explained again the issues and she copped an attitude. She insisted that if I'm having problems it's the script my optometrist wrote and not the fact they were made wrong. She claimed when she measured both pairs that the right axis was 140 on the new versus 120 on the old and the left eye had axis subtracted. She wanted me to get re-examined and I balked. Instead of making it right, she said, "We will only remake them using the script that are in your current [Target] pair. In order to do that, I need the 2-year-old script rewritten." I reluctantly agreed and went away.

I went to Target Optical and met with the same lady who helped me on my last three visits now. She was perplexed by America's Best asking for the old script, but she ended up giving it to me anyway and assured me they will help me if this place won't. She also mentioned it was pointless to remake a new pair when my current pair was still good. A coworker offered to me the material they use on the standard progressives and mentioned "if you have a frame you'd like to use, we are happy to make your glasses. You don't have to buy the frames here".

Why didn't someone tell me 4 weeks ago?! I would have stuck with Target instead I went to America's Best. Damn!!!! Now that I had that vital nugget of info, I went back to America's Best after work and was glad to see the immovable manager was not in, but the staff member who helped me twice before. She picked up the conversation where we left off on Wednesday. The manager never said to her that I came by on Friday. She asked did I find out the material on the old pair. I told her "no". I don't have it and Target doesn't retain it beyond a year.

I advised her that I returned on Friday and her manager would only remake them with the current prescription I'm using (my Target pair). I said that I wish to return the pair that was made because it makes no sense to remake them with the script I'm wearing and with a replaced frame at that. She didn't argue with me. She wasn't thrilled either, but she refunded me my $209 for the entire cost of the pair out of pocket. I gave a star back on this review because she did the right thing. If her manager was there, I'm dead certain I would be denied a refund.

Needless to say, I learned my lesson. Aftee reading tons of nightmare reviews, I count myself grateful that I was able to get a refund. I can use Target irrespective of where I get my frames. Target's standard progressive lenses are far superior to anything I've worn in the past 19 years and they have not a single scratch or scuff on them after 2 years of nonstop use. Now, let's just hope that the claim with VSP under America's Best is reversed and my benefits restored for this benefit year. Despite the out of pocket cost refunded, I'll be screwed out of my glasses for the year under VSP.

Go in to get the eye exam & two frames. Told I'll be contacted when they arrive, 2 weeks max. After 2 weeks, I call to find they've been there for days. Go get them but one pair isn't right. Besides the frame constantly slipping off my nose, they hurt after 20 minutes & the script isn't working for me as a graphic designer with monitors two feet away. I have to lean in to get focused which is harsh for neck and posture. These things were causing pain.

The other pair, the distance pair for driving, was wonderful. Big black frames which sat squarely on my face without trouble. I wear them for hours without hassle. On top of this, I've developed cataracts and it's hindering me greatly in the evening. I have to turn monitor brightness to 1 to compensate for the glare. There's a free cataract surgery program but I need a "Letter of necessity" from a licensed optometrist. When I first came in and had my exam, I was clear in what I needed but the doc was more concerned with being a salesman.

Now I go to get the letter and see what I can do to exchange the frames with a happy pair. I ask for the doc who did my exam but there is no doctor in the building at all. An older woman with dyed black hair (forgotten her name) couldn't help me decide for or against bifocals after 90 minutes. "I don't know. This is all new to me but it's your job," I tell her. She tries bending the cruddy glasses and puts silicone nose pads on to alleviate the pain & slippage of the plastic ones this cheap company sent them with. In doing so, she chips a lensee. At this point she said she'd speak to a specific doctor on Monday about the letter for cataract surgery & what would be the best way to go for two-feet-away computer work. It was Friday. Monday comes and she leaves a message to say the doc is in a class and she'll call tomorrow. Tuesday comes and at 5pm I call to find she's off. Some serious unprofessionalism is going on here.

By now I'm more than frustrated. I get a younger-sounding woman on the phone and tell her my troubles. She says bifocals for reading up close, placed under a script maximized for seeing two-feet away in the frame I asked for seems ideal. She orders them, informing me they'll arrive faster than last time and promises someone will ring when they're in. I asked why nobody did the first time and she said they're having phone issues. A work order was placed a month ago but corporate is unresponsive. She promises I'll be contacted when the new ones arrive by a human being, not automation. You already know I wasn't.

Today I ring, 13 days since I went in to get the uncomfy pair "Fixed" and a week since the new order was placed. My calls go straight to voicemail which says I'm calling after hours. It's 2pm on Thursday! Now I have to call the corporate office where a lady verifies that, "Yes, the glasses arrived yesterday." she tries contacting the store and gets the same voicemail.

I live 50 minutes and 36 miles away from this place so getting there is a pain unless I have other things to do nearby (Lowe's is across the street). I drive a very cool old truck but she's not a gas sipper. It's over $20 round-trip with today's cost of gas. A family member is near and agrees to pick them up for me. When she brings them, I put them on and discover they're sized for someone with a head much bigger than mine.

I don't understand stupidity and laziness. The first frames, the exact style of frames, were fit perfectly when they arrived. Why are the new pair incorrectly sized? See the photo? They're literally 1/2 inch wider than the first pair. Who are these incompetents? They've got my measurements. The first pair proves it. Additionally, the script STILL ISN'T RIGHT. I have to lean in to get focus on the monitor. And where's my letter of necessity? Can't call the store. That voicemail issue. So I ring the 800 #. Again. After 15 more minutes on hold, the lady says she'll transfer me to the agent who helped me earlier. Click, click, SCREEEECH for 8 seconds until I hang up. We're treading in the land of epic half**ery.

I call the toll free for the third time today and tell the lady not to transfer me but leave a message for the agent who is "Handling my case," asking her to ring me tomorrow between noon and one. That's when I'm open. By now I've been in their store 3 times for almost 4 hours and I've rung them up 7 times yet things are still messed up. How do companies filled with such foolishness survive? I need to get glasses which fit and suit me at the desk, not incorrect lenses in a wobbly frame made for King Kong. I need the letter. I need professionalism and integrity. I'll let you know how this turns out. Don't hold your breath for a happy ending.

In my case while they were discussing me just wanting plain and simple glasses, I saw that the glare resistance was an additional $50 per pair. The manager added the glare resistance on one pair at my request and said my glasses now come with warranty that is included with the glare resistance. What she should have told me was that in order the get glare resistance I needed to look at the pricing for the lens upgrade on the left side of their price sheet.

Nowhere on the right does it say you have to pay to upgrade the lens in order to purchase the glare resistance. When I got home and noticed the added charges I called and spoke to that manager and pretty much cast the blame on her employee. She didn't offer any type of resolution, like did I want to cancel the glare resistance?? It had only been 30min since I had left the store, surely they weren't being made.

On 5/15 I was told that it would take 2 weeks for my glasses to come in, so I called today and I spoke to the same manager. Worse company ever. After the free exam, services just goes down the drain if you ever need to come back for a new pair of glasses. Nobody knows anything, employees give the wrong information before checking/confirming and it's absolutely a headache trying to get information on your own prescription. God forbid you go to a different store than where you had the initial exam, because even though they can see your prescription in their database they require the old store to fax the prescription to them. However when you call the initial store they will tell you that they need to check company policy before even helping you with the fax and will leave you on hold for 20 mins or more.

Even ordering online is a headache because the store employees still need to verify your prescription and lack the diligence to confirm and compare the information they get from you with the information they have in their system. They will also strong arm your prescriptions and tell you they cannot give you the information they see in their database. I had to call corporate office twice because the incompetency of this place is unbelievable! Never will I ever recommend this company. There is a reason why they are so "affordable" I guess. No one is ever able to help you and everyone is confused on company policy and procedure! Beware, your prescription will be mismanaged by everyone. What is the point of having your prescription in their database if it cannot be accessed company wide to make buying glasses more convenient?

We both made appointments for the same day and our visit was very professional by everyone we came in contact with, the reception was personable with a warm greeting. The pre-exam was conducted for both of by the same young gentleman, he did a great job. We were then examined by the Doctor, whom was 100% professional, though you could tell she was a bit stressed since she was very busy. When we selected our frames and features of the glasses, Grace was exceptional, probably one of the nicest human beings on earth, she was incredible!!! Today, after both me and my wife receiving phone calls advising our glasses had arrived we returned to pick up our new glasses.

This is where this great story ends. Our greeting was almost an inconvenience, "Do you need help?" My wife said we were both there to pick up our new glasses, your employee responded by telling us to sit down and wait until an opening was available. Shortly afterwards your employee (later identified as DAWN) walked across the room and asked my wife "what name", my wife replied Darla and Steve Chappell, Dawn replied, "Both of you have glasses" to which my wife replied yes. Dawn then told us "Sit Down!, by the way there was only a single chair, so I pulled another chair from across the room. It was obvious we were a total inconvenience as she struggle to breathe. Dawn then slid my new glasses across the desk and said, "Put them on!".

It was at this point I spoke for the first time and asked if she was having a bad day or were we just inconveniencing her? She did not reply. As I put my glasses on, I replied they are very loose on my head, and started to remove them, she said "Keep them on, turn your head to the right, okay, take them off!" I handed them back to her and she bent the two nose pieces and handed once again slid them back across the table and said put them back on! I replied and said it was the width an not the nose piece, she replied, "I have my way of doing things" to which I replied well you are the professional, Dawn quickly snapped back at me saying "yes, I am the professional and have been doing this for 6 years!

I replied that her response was extremely arrogant to which Dawn replied, "yes I am the arrogant professional". I had enough and pick up both pairs of my glasses and my wife's glasses and said I would not be spoken to this way as a customer, Dawn replied "Too Bad"! I just want you to know we spent $609.37 and will never step foot in another America's Best facility again until I receive an apology and if I see Dawn in the store then it will not end well. I promise to share my experience on social media if this isn't resolved because right now I am not happy with my eyewear and certainly did not deserve the treatment we received.

Dawn is by far the most unprofessional employee I have dealt with and I can never say some should be relieved of their duties but I guarantee my wife and I could not be the first people that had a horrible experience because she was too polished with her short, arrogant comments and can say never in my life have I had a customer experience with such an arrogant experience. I am a V.P. for a multi-billion dollar company and am not someone who was demanding or rude with your employee and treated her with respect until she was so rude, first with my wife only and then with myself. It was a good day until Dawn ruined it and she should be dismissed of her duties.

This place is the MOST inefficient Doctor's office I have ever been to. Their membership in theory is great. $99 for a few years of eye exams, sounds great. However, in order to actually get your prescription, you need to first try the contacts before, then book ANOTHER appointment for the doctor to see them on and test you AGAIN (which would make sense for people new to wearing contacts, but not for everyone). Also, in order to get your first trial pair, they have to order them and this can take up to 2 weeks, once you get them, you have to book another appointment, the doctor needs to see them on you and then you are allowed to get your prescription.

I have used contacts and glasses for 20 years now and this is the first time I've had to "try on" contacts for a week before getting a prescription. This wouldn't be an issue if they had the contacts at the office, and if they want to see you to try to the contacts, whatever, makes no sense, but ok, but the fact that you have to wait in order to get them is ridiculous. There's no charge every time they need to see the contacts on, but it is a huge waste of time and the office is packed!!!! Nobody has that kind of time. When does anyone ever have to go into an eye doctor again after getting your eyes tested!?!? This is ridiculous and redundant, and inefficient!!! I would rather pay more, go once a year, like the rest of the world and move on, get my prescription and get my lenses online. Are they not confident enough in their own tests that they have to make you go there to get the contacts and then again after you try them on to see them on!!!

And to top it off, if they prescribe contacts for Astigmatism and you request daily contacts, you will one box with astigmatism contacts, which has 5 lenses, and the other eye without astigmatism, get 10 lenses!!! They aren't even!!!! So to summarize, if you go here, make sure you have 2 months' worth of your current contact lenses so that you have time to "try on" your lenses and go back so they can finally release a prescription for your lenses!!! You're better off just paying more ANYWHERE else. Walmart typically has appointments for the same day you're looking for, or even the day after, I would recommend not wasting your money, time or energy at this office. Horrible.

I made my appointment for the sole purpose of the advertisement on their site, 2 pair of eye glasses with free eye exam. However that is not what I received. I ended the appointment with a total bill of $309.95 significantly higher than the advertised price and that was for one pair of glasses, lenses and eye exam. I don’t understand why even when I chose glasses that were $69.95 the bill would be so high, and not include 2 pair of glasses. If I wanted a second pair I would need to add another $239 total cost for two pair of glasses would be over $500. I just couldn’t afford it, so I paid just for the eye exam which ironically totaled $70! I’m disappointed and frustrated that I paid $70 and didn’t get any glasses at all. Their advertising is misleading and needs to be more transparent, so consumers aren’t being tricked into make appointments for a price that isn’t really the price at all!

For most people they can get their contact lenses the same day as their eye exam. For me my prescription was "special" and needed to be ordered. So they gave me an ETA of 2 weeks. 3 weeks go by without any call or text to let me know my order had come in. So I called and asked, "Hey have my lenses arrived." Answer is no. So I said fine I, I wait an additional week and call them back and still no lenses. They put me on hold for 30 min and various people picked up the phone but those were calls for other consumers and finally somebody answered and tells me "sometimes it takes 8 weeks". This is unacceptable considering people can get same day service and they can get you a 2 pairs of glasses within 2 weeks.

I did this a month ahead of the time I needed them for the task. If you expect speedy response and results don't even bother. After my initial eye exam I wanted my prescription but they wouldn't give it to me because they wouldn't know if they fit my eyes until the contacts came in. Now a month later they still refuse to give me my prescription, and I still don't have my contact lenses.

I went and had an eye exam done by their "doctor" which lasted maybe 10 minutes (this should have been my first clue). After looking for frames I could not find any I liked so I went elsewhere and had my eye glasses made. When the glasses came back everything was blurry but I gave it some time to see if my eyes needed to adjust to the new prescription. After some time I went back and had them check to make sure they were made correctly, which they were.

Next I went to a professional eye doctor and had him check my eyes again only to find out America's Best did not do a correct eye exam. I then paid for another new pair of glasses with the new doctor and called America's Best to have them fix the second pair since they were at fault for doing an incorrect eye exam. They were so unprofessional and refused to do anything to fix the problem. Only said they would have their doctor do another eye exam but would not fix the glasses, what good would that do but prove they were incompetent the first time! Please save yourself a lot of money and go to a true professional and have your exam done, lesson learned and will never use them again!

My 5 kids wear glasses. I tried not to complain because I figured it was because I do have a strong prescription...

This second time around I know my husband does not and they scammed us out of thinking we will pay around 69.95 and like fools they got us for around 350.00. That's a way big difference. They are such liars...They should tell us upfront that we are just paying for frames. Walked out as my time is more important to cater to incompetent and dimwitted manager who gave my appointment away and immediately received an email to re-schedule and what the issue was. Described the sub standard, idiotic and greedy conduct in detail and never heard back from them. Cheap plastic frames that look like they import them for $10 per dozen. Metal frames did not look of quality that may last and fit correct. My research and study show the lenses used are also of low grade and accuracy of match with that of the RX and warranty have been an issue with many customers. The promotion is attractive, two pairs and an eye exam for $69.00. To their credit, the eye exam seemed thorough, although they do try to add another $10 for a glaucoma test. Then the fun begins. The $69 glasses are the lower quality plastic lenses and frames, and only in a few models. If you need or want transition lenses? Extra. If you need or want progressive lenses or bifocals? Extra. Everything other than the plastic lenses and frames is extra, extra, extra, and pretty soon you're quickly up around $400.00 plus. The transition lenses are poor substitutes for sunglasses, so if you need prescription sunglasses, guess what? It's EXTRA. I was so disenchanted in being nickel & dimed to death I walked out after the eye exam.

Their entire business model is based on limited selection and quality of the $69.00 special, and geared towards upselling until you are spending hundreds of dollars to be able to see. I would offer that before you get the eye exam, ask them which glasses and lenses qualify for the $69 price, because anything other than plain vanilla is an add-on cost. They have a long wall display of all the available frames, but literally only a handful of them qualify for the $69 price. Everything else is more.

To whom it may concern. I would like to express myself regarding a poor and unprofessional customer service that I have received. I wear bifocals glasses. So it turned out two days earlier, I had a full eye exam, which took 40 minutes. When I came into store I received a eye exam, which took 10 minutes. I found the difference in 0.5 and showed the manager (Mellisa). She said that the difference is small and I will not noticeable. I advised her several times that the lower part should for the computer distance and not for reading. I brought my own frames (expensive for me), the same as I wear now. When I came to receive my glasses, it turned out they were for reading. I pointed out this error to Mellisa. she said that I was wrong, because I check on a piece of paper. She told me I need to take the glasses home and test on the computer.

I try to explain to her that she was wrong and when I called the doctor and showed my glasses which were ordered in the same store 2 years ago they admitted their mistake. It took 30 minutes. I asked for a refund. She refused me because it was my own frame. Because part of the payment was covered by the insurance, I had to agree to send the glasses back. Now I have to wait three weeks again, and because the basic glasses are broken, I have to buy elsewhere and pay full price. My insurance only covers one pair. Totally unprofessional service, and disrespect for the buyer and no even single word of apology from her. I believe the company needs to pay attention on the reviews that are submitted by customers regarding the the customer service that provided.

***UPDATE*** It is two weeks later (September 18, 2021) and this has not been resolved. There has not even been an acknowledgment of the issue. I have been buying glasses for my whole family from America’s Best for about five years now, and have always been pleased. This month I got new contacts and decided to also get new reading glasses with prescription frames. (I have done this many times at America’s Best.) In three days my contacts came in to the store—great!

A couple of days later, the two sets of glasses came in; however, they had the wrong prescription. (The strength should have been 2.00 to be worn with my contacts—I am nearsighted.) They told me that the mistake was that they made the glasses using my distance prescription. Ok, let’s order the correct prescription. So, one week later, I went to pick up the new prescription glasses. They were the incorrect glasses again! I was then told that this was the correct prescription according to the computer, that the 2.00 that was prescribed somehow needed to be converted. He also told me it was the manager's fault for sending in the wrong prescription.

No, there should have been NO conversion needed, they are simply reading glasses at a 2.00 strength. Then he told me that it was not recommended to wear reading glasses with contacts. REALLY??? This is why I wear reading glasses in the first place! I was never able to get used to bifocal contacts. I am nearsighted, so have corrected lenses for distance that causes me to NEED reading glass. The gentleman at the store did not seem to understand this. I have had reading glasses with contacts for AT LEAST 25 years. I’m very confused why this is such a problem right now. I was not able to find a corporate number or any other way to contact to anyone. I hope that writing this review will cause some action toward resolving this situation. I hope to hear from you soon.

They send me back and do all of my eye exam. When they send me out to look at frames, I've picked out a couple that I liked when a very rude woman walks up to me and tells me they do not take my insurance. She tells me I can either pay $50 for the eye exam, or pay the full price and get some eyeglasses. I wasn't expecting to pay anything as my insurance pays 100% of the exam and $300 a year towards frames. I ended up paying the 50 and leaving with no glasses. A month later I'm trying to find somewhere that takes my insurance and accidentally call them again. The lady who answers tells me yes, they take my insurance but it's out of network. This means I only get $70 towards my eyeglasses instead of 300.

I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE TWO PAIR OF EYEGLASSES for 69.99 when I came in. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. The lady I was dealing with in store was extremely rude and condescending. When I asked why they don't verify they can take your insurance before they send you back for the eye exam, her exact words were, "well. It's up to the CUSTOMER to verify we take their insurance!!" Very rudely. I said, "by calling previous to the appointment and asking?" She said, "yes!" I replied with, "that's exactly what I did." All of this for nothing. If the employees were properly informed, I would have walked out of there with my two pair of eyeglasses from my appointment instead of going through everything I have and I still have no eyeglasses.

In the state of MN the CDC has lifted the mask mandate. It is against HIPAA law for them to ask personal questions. So she canceled my appointment, didn't even try to work with me! She was very rude as soon as I said I will not wear a mask. I have ptsd and serious medical issues! The hospitals and doctors around me which is 1 hour away from America's Best do NOT wear masks anywhere. NO ONE IS!!! Why am I refused service. I want something done!! By law it's a 50k fine for a business to refuse me when there is no mask mandate!!

They also did a great job explaining pricing and how to get a better deal with certain brands! No pressure in buying their brand, and very informative! She even helped selecting the most complementary metal color. Miss Jennifer marked the lenses to ensure an accurately placed levels for driving, for distance and for reading. The entire experience was customized to ensure quality eyewear. Upon receiving my glasses, I realized immediately they were perfect! I have never had better vision than I do today. On Tuesday February 9, 2021 I went to America's Best store #5483 located at 551 S Lincoln Highway New Lenox Illinois. I ordered and paid in full for glasses for myself ($200.39), son ($229.17), and daughter ($167.95). I was told the glasses will take anywhere between 12 to 14 days to come in. On Tuesday Feb. 23rd I received a message and all of the glasses that I ordered and paid for were in and available for pick up.

On Wednesday Feb. 24 we all arrive at the store. I received my glasses, my son's glasses were too small for his face. He needed extended sizes so his glasses had to be reordered and my daughter glasses were lost by staff. An associate named ** told me they were checked in on Feb. 20 but she didn't know where they were. We waited in the store for 30 minutes while they searched for the glasses with no avail. An associate named ** eventually told me, "Someone will call you tomorrow once we figure out what we're going to do." So we all left.

On Thursday Feb. 25 an associate named ** called me to schedule a contact class for my son, while on the phone with ** she never mentioned anything about the lost glasses for my daughter so I asked her if I could speak to the manager. ** stated that the manager wasn't available but could she assist me. I explained the situation with the lost glasses and I told her that they needed to reorder those glasses and expedite them. ** said that wouldn't be a problem, she will reorder the glasses and take care it.

On Wednesday March 3rd I called the store and spoke with ** and asked her if the glasses were in for my daughter and she replied no. So I told her I would be in for a refund. I then called the corporate office and spoke with a representative named Sade. I explained the situation with the lost glasses and how I felt the staff at America's Best was giving me the run around and not being attentive. Sade then apologized on behalf of that staff and informed me that the glasses for my daughter were never reordered and that when I came in on Feb. 24 the staff should have reordered them right then when they couldn't find them.

At this point, I told Sade that I was going to the store to get a refund because it's been one big inconvenience, the staff has done nothing but give me excuses, blow me off, and now my daughter is without glasses that I paid for and she needs them for school. She's at home on a computer 5 days a week for 6 hours. Sade apologized again on behalf of the staff at this location and stated that I could go to the store and get my refund but she was going to reorder those glasses and comp them to me because the staff at this location dropped the ball.

Sade put me on hold and called the store to speak the District manager **. He was not in and Sade informed the staff of the situation. They told her he was the only one that could give me the refund and he would be in on Thursday March 3. This should have been told to me by ** when I told her that I would be in for a refund. So Sade saved me what would have been a wasted trip. I went to the store and received a full refund on March 3.

On Tuesday March 16 I received a message stating that the glasses were in and ready for pickup. I went to America's "Best" on Wednesday March 17 and I said, "I was here to pick up glasses." The associate looked for the glasses and could not find them. She went and got ** and ** came over yelling.. "No. You got a full refund on all your glasses.. You don't get a refund and think that you can come in here and get a free pair of glasses." I told **, "I called corporate and ** is aware that I was told that the glasses are free because you all dropped the ball." ** said, "No. You were refunded."

I told **, "I'll just call corporate." ** yelled, "I don't care if you call corporate or not. You're not leaving here with a free pair of glasses. That's just not going to happen. Nope not happening. I'm not doing it." I didn't reply. I immediately called corporate while I was in the store. Corporate looked at the notes. Put me on hold and called the store. ** answered and at this time ** is right behind ** digging through a box of glasses and ** gave the representative from corporate every excuse as to why ** couldn't take her phone call. Corporate had to call the District manager to call the store to speak with **.

While ** was on the phone, she told ** "GIVE IT TO HER". ** then went to the back where she brought the glasses up to the front. They had a white paper wrapped around them with black bold letters that said DO NOT DISPOSE. ** cleaned the glasses and gave them to me and whispered an apology. I have never been so humiliated in my life. Never have I ever been treated like this by anyone.. Instead of ** listening to me and confirming what I said by calling ** her district manager for clarification, ** chose to be rude, unprofessional and treat me like I was a lying thief.

It was embarrassing and dehumanizing the way she yelled at me and carried on in front of other customers in the store. ** was too comfortable with her yelling and rude behavior towards me. She acted as if it was normal. I have never experienced such treatment in my life. All customers need to be treated with dignity and respect. I received neither at this location.. This was my first and will be my last time ever stepping foot into an America's Best location. This was by far America's Worst experience ever.

I told her that I work during the week and I would call back to schedule. Needless to say, they submitted a claim to my carrier, EyeMed, for contact fitting and the eye exam.

When I called the office manager today he was no help and told me whatever charges were submitted then that was the services performed. Now I had to call EyeMed to start an investigation so they won't pay the portion for the contact fitting because America's Best never fitted us for any contacts. Now if I try and go to another eye doctor EyeMed won't pay for the fitting since America's Best submitted that fraudulent charge. They are a total rip off. This particular location is located at 2200 Roswell Road Suite 160, Marietta, GA 30062. Their number is 770-565-6200. I assume they don't know insurance fraud is against the law.

They are horrible. I took my family to purchase glasses including my mom. They pull my benefits but informed us that we only had a $120 allowance. Since my mom had no insurance and liked her glasses I paid about $440 for her pair. My wife and kids decided to go across the street to another company where they gave us a $300 allowance on frame selections. This is where this company sucks. They would not release the lock on our insurance benefits and told me I had to wait 24 hrs. Making us unable to select glasses at the next store. Since my insurance allows us to get new glasses every 12 months, I knew this was not the norm.

I've gone to Visionworks where they have pulled our insurance benefits and the same day went to Kent Eye wear and picked up a frame that suited us better. VisionWorks had no issues in release the insurance benefits. To make a long story short. After going back to the store no one would assist me after 15 min. I had to get upset and get loud in order to get attention. They threaten to call the cops on me cause they were unwilling to release my benefits. An off duty officer was also at the store that day intervene and got them to refund my mom's glass I paid for and proceed on releasing my benefits. STAY AWAY. UNPROFESSIONAL PRACTICE!!!

I was not satisfied because when I put the glasses on, I couldn't look down and read, nor could I look out into the parking lot and clearly see the cars. The prescription was definitely off and very blurry. She said that the manager, Rowena, would help me, but the manager was talking to another employee and it took 15 minutes for her to come over to help me, even though I was the only customer in the store.

Rowena, the manager, spoke about me to the other employees in front of me and belittled me, stating that I didn't want to learn to use the lenses and that's why they wouldn't work. She raised her voice and called across the store to another employee stating, "She doesn't want to learn to use her glasses!" Her demeanor was rude and I asked for my refund and left immediately. If you pay cash you can get 2 pair of glasses for $69 plus whatever else they charge so about $100 or so for 2 pairs of glasses but if you use insurance They take your $200 from insurance and still charge you $140 to a $160 dollars more to make it $360.00. So are they cheating the insurance company or what's the difference. I really believe this needs to be looked into by the Medicare insurance. Shouldn't the price be close to the same no matter if you use insurance or cash.

America's Best!? More like America's WORST!! If I could give ZERO stars I would! I have officially been trying to schedule an eye exam for a month now! I first scheduled one at the Littleton location for 12/19 (a month ago). They send you all kinds of reminders via email and text, which sounds great IF THEY EVER FOLLOWED THROUGH. The first time I got a call a few days before my appointment saying their doctor had an emergency and they needed me to reschedule. Weird to have an emergency a few days before the appointment, but I thought fine, things happen, I'll reschedule, and rescheduled to 12/26.

On 12/26 I show up for my appointment, and find a note on the door saying they decided to close for the day... I'm like SERIOUSLY, but okay, I get it, right after Christmas, you want an extended weekend off, whatever. So I go and reschedule a 3rd appointment for 1/11. Now keep in mind, I was scheduling Saturday appointments for the first two because as a typical human being I have a weekday job and trying to squeeze in before they close is difficult for me, but this time I was like maybe weekends aren't working out for them, I'll try for after work on a weekday. Sure enough, on 1/11 in the afternoon they called and said, "Sorry, our doctor had an emergency, and had to leave early..." Idk what is going on with this doctor's life but it seems like a lot of emergencies, which shows complete unreliability. If I had that many emergencies I probably couldn't keep my job, but apparently this company is relaxed on their employees. Idk. Anyways.

So I talk to someone (note, they have an outside source make their appointments, the offices don't do them directly) and mentioned this was the 3rd time I've been flaked on, and their response was, "Oh... that office is short staffed, so how about trying a different location?" So I say, "Okay, let's go with a different location," and I scheduled an exam for today (1/19) at their Lakewood location, which is further from me, but if I have a chance of finally getting an exam, I'm taking it. So I drive there, and GPS takes me to the edge of a shopping complex, and where it seemed it would've been there is a sign on an empty store saying it's for lease. Of course I'm confused, and wondering if GPS took me to the wrong place. I look on my phone, and see that it's placing the location at what seems like TJ Maxx which is around the corner of the building. Weird, but I have seen eye places inside of stores, so I'm thinking maybe it's in TJ Maxx??

I go inside, of course it's not in there, I'm confused as hell and tired from a long day of work, so I call the office. It rings for a solid few minutes as I'm walking back outside and finally someone answers, and I ask them where their office is and their response was "Do you have an appointment?" Of course I say, "Yes... I have an appointment, I'm trying to find your office because my GPS took me to TJ Maxx." The guy basically chuckles and asks a fellow employee if TJ Maxx is around (? apparently he has no clue where he works?). His coworker says, "Yes there's one over there," and then he tells me he's sorry but if I'm more than 5 minutes past my appointment I have to reschedule... I'm like... "Okay? Well I'm here, and I can't find your store, where is it located exactly?"

Also mentioned that this is ridiculous that I've already been rescheduled at your other location 3 times, so I was trying this one hoping for a better outcome. He puts me on hold, talks to the doctor, and says the same thing, that he's sorry but "If your appointment is before 5pm you have a 10min window but if it's after 5pm you have a 5min window, because the doctor wants to leave." Granted this whole time he obviously has a smile on his face (you know how that sounds) and continued to chuckle throughout our conversation even though I'm obviously very upset... Moral of the story, this place has horrible management and staff that has never worked in hospitality and doesn't care about their customers, and after being forced to reschedule 4 times I'm over this company and suggest you look elsewhere as well.

Although the glasses purchased at 2 pair $69.95 incl free exam (which now gives free enhanced testing, that used to cost an extra $50) aren't built to last for years, they serve their purpose and keeps me coming back every year, not only keeping me on track to get my eyes checked every year and if you think about it, when you do go back every year, you can get a different style (who doesn't get bored with the same glasses every day?).

I go in with my mind pre made up knowing that I will not be purchasing the higher priced frames, fancier lenses, coatings, warranties or "upgrades". I left there today with 4 pair of glasses, 3 for distance and 1 pair of bifocals for $156. Upon being offered the add on warranty I explained... I purchased my "warranty" in the form of 3 extra pair of glasses in case one gets lost or broken (lol). Just like with any purchase you make, you likely get what you pay for and for the price, I would say I got a pretty darn good deal... Keep up the great work at being America's Best Colonie, NY, I certainly thank you!

(Just because exam is free and pay only one flame.) Is this normal eyeglass price? It’s not name brand frame. I have bought eyeglasses before but never this much price I paid. Or I was just scammed?
