Bought the glass frame several years ago. The lens fell out, I expect that to happen. Because I did not have a problem with the frame, I never looked at the screws used. This time looked and found out a piece of wire was used, instead of a screw. Best frames, best lens, yet a wire was used instead of a screw.

Go in to get the eye exam & two frames. Told I'll be contacted when they arrive, 2 weeks max. After 2 weeks, I call to find they've been there for days. Go get them but one pair isn't right. Besides the frame constantly slipping off my nose, they hurt after 20 minutes & the script isn't working for me as a graphic designer with monitors two feet away. I have to lean in to get focused which is harsh for neck and posture. These things were causing pain.

The other pair, the distance pair for driving, was wonderful. Big black frames which sat squarely on my face without trouble. I wear them for hours without hassle. On top of this, I've developed cataracts and it's hindering me greatly in the evening. I have to turn monitor brightness to 1 to compensate for the glare. There's a free cataract surgery program but I need a "Letter of necessity" from a licensed optometrist. When I first came in and had my exam, I was clear in what I needed but the doc was more concerned with being a salesman.

Now I go to get the letter and see what I can do to exchange the frames with a happy pair. I ask for the doc who did my exam but there is no doctor in the building at all. An older woman with dyed black hair (forgotten her name) couldn't help me decide for or against bifocals after 90 minutes. "I don't know. This is all new to me but it's your job," I tell her. She tries bending the cruddy glasses and puts silicone nose pads on to alleviate the pain & slippage of the plastic ones this cheap company sent them with. In doing so, she chips a lensee. At this point she said she'd speak to a specific doctor on Monday about the letter for cataract surgery & what would be the best way to go for two-feet-away computer work. It was Friday. Monday comes and she leaves a message to say the doc is in a class and she'll call tomorrow. Tuesday comes and at 5pm I call to find she's off. Some serious unprofessionalism is going on here.

By now I'm more than frustrated. I get a younger-sounding woman on the phone and tell her my troubles. She says bifocals for reading up close, placed under a script maximized for seeing two-feet away in the frame I asked for seems ideal. She orders them, informing me they'll arrive faster than last time and promises someone will ring when they're in. I asked why nobody did the first time and she said they're having phone issues. A work order was placed a month ago but corporate is unresponsive. She promises I'll be contacted when the new ones arrive by a human being, not automation. You already know I wasn't.

Today I ring, 13 days since I went in to get the uncomfy pair "Fixed" and a week since the new order was placed. My calls go straight to voicemail which says I'm calling after hours. It's 2pm on Thursday! Now I have to call the corporate office where a lady verifies that, "Yes, the glasses arrived yesterday." she tries contacting the store and gets the same voicemail.

I live 50 minutes and 36 miles away from this place so getting there is a pain unless I have other things to do nearby (Lowe's is across the street). I drive a very cool old truck but she's not a gas sipper. It's over $20 round-trip with today's cost of gas. A family member is near and agrees to pick them up for me. When she brings them, I put them on and discover they're sized for someone with a head much bigger than mine.

I don't understand stupidity and laziness. The first frames, the exact style of frames, were fit perfectly when they arrived. Why are the new pair incorrectly sized? See the photo? They're literally 1/2 inch wider than the first pair. Who are these incompetents? They've got my measurements. The first pair proves it. Additionally, the script STILL ISN'T RIGHT. I have to lean in to get focus on the monitor. And where's my letter of necessity? Can't call the store. That voicemail issue. So I ring the 800 #. Again. After 15 more minutes on hold, the lady says she'll transfer me to the agent who helped me earlier. Click, click, SCREEEECH for 8 seconds until I hang up. We're treading in the land of epic half**ery.

I call the toll free for the third time today and tell the lady not to transfer me but leave a message for the agent who is "Handling my case," asking her to ring me tomorrow between noon and one. That's when I'm open. By now I've been in their store 3 times for almost 4 hours and I've rung them up 7 times yet things are still messed up. How do companies filled with such foolishness survive? I need to get glasses which fit and suit me at the desk, not incorrect lenses in a wobbly frame made for King Kong. I need the letter. I need professionalism and integrity. I'll let you know how this turns out. Don't hold your breath for a happy ending.

Called their corporate headquarters "National Vision" and was lied to again. Tried to talk to any manager, was put on hold, and have to this day never been able to talk to any manager. They are a rip off! They have forever lost me as a customer! If you would heed my words, go somewhere else, and save your hard earned money.

Each department knows nothing about the other departments. The front desk people I was told doesn't know about how their specials work, the eye exam girl knows nothing about nothing and the optometrist needed his managers approval before proceeding with my order. I feel like it's the oldest sales trick where they send in the relief pitcher to upsell you. In my case while they were discussing me just wanting plain and simple glasses, I saw that the glare resistance was an additional $50 per pair. The manager added the glare resistance on one pair at my request and said my glasses now come with warranty that is included with the glare resistance. What she should have told me was that in order the get glare resistance I needed to look at the pricing for the lens upgrade on the left side of their price sheet.

Nowhere on the right does it say you have to pay to upgrade the lens in order to purchase the glare resistance. When I got home and noticed the added charges I called and spoke to that manager and pretty much cast the blame on her employee. She didn't offer any type of resolution, like did I want to cancel the glare resistance?? It had only been 30min since I had left the store, surely they weren't being made.

On 5/15 I was told that it would take 2 weeks for my glasses to come in, so I called today and I spoke to the same manager. When I gave her my name I can hear the attitude change in her voice and she told me they called me on 5/19 to advise that my glasses were ready. I wasn't left a voicemail and all she could say was that "well we called". I will not be using this company or referring them.

I went to pick up my new contacts from the America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, Wyncote, PA and met with a young lady who was assisting me, when suddenly supervisor Justin stepped in for no reason and began an argument by picking on me. When I wanted to order glasses using the same prescription I received from the same store Justin pointed out that he does not know if the prescription, I had in my hand, is for long distance for computer viewing or not. I don't know why he was even speaking with me; I never asked for his assistance. Everything went downhill from there.

I asked Justin to move away from me because he became irritable and argumentative, and the only reason I could think that he was that way is a means of showing "power" as a supervisor. I am now afraid to return to the store to get anything done because Justin assumes he's being helpful but he really just picks at a customer and starts irritating folks; and will not step aside and let the other floor agents do their jobs.

Worse company ever. After the free exam, services just goes down the drain if you ever need to come back for a new pair of glasses. Nobody knows anything, employees give the wrong information before checking/confirming and it's absolutely a headache trying to get information on your own prescription. God forbid you go to a different store than where you had the initial exam, because even though they can see your prescription in their database they require the old store to fax the prescription to them. However when you call the initial store they will tell you that they need to check company policy before even helping you with the fax and will leave you on hold for 20 mins or more.

Even ordering online is a headache because the store employees still need to verify your prescription and lack the diligence to confirm and compare the information they get from you with the information they have in their system. They will also strong arm your prescriptions and tell you they cannot give you the information they see in their database. I had to call corporate office twice because the incompetency of this place is unbelievable! Never will I ever recommend this company. There is a reason why they are so "affordable" I guess. No one is ever able to help you and everyone is confused on company policy and procedure! Beware, your prescription will be mismanaged by everyone. What is the point of having your prescription in their database if it cannot be accessed company wide to make buying glasses more convenient?

I would like to comment both mine, and my wife's visit to your Vancouver, WA location. We both made appointments for the same day and our visit was very professional by everyone we came in contact with, the reception was personable with a warm greeting. The pre-exam was conducted for both of by the same young gentleman, he did a great job. We were then examined by the Doctor, whom was 100% professional, though you could tell she was a bit stressed since she was very busy. When we selected our frames and features of the glasses, Grace was exceptional, probably one of the nicest human beings on earth, she was incredible!!! Today, after both me and my wife receiving phone calls advising our glasses had arrived we returned to pick up our new glasses.

This is where this great story ends. Our greeting was almost an inconvenience, "Do you need help?" My wife said we were both there to pick up our new glasses, your employee responded by telling us to sit down and wait until an opening was available. Shortly afterwards your employee (later identified as DAWN) walked across the room and asked my wife "what name", my wife replied Darla and Steve Chappell, Dawn replied, "Both of you have glasses" to which my wife replied yes. Dawn then told us "Sit Down!, by the way there was only a single chair, so I pulled another chair from across the room. It was obvious we were a total inconvenience as she struggle to breathe. Dawn then slid my new glasses across the desk and said, "Put them on!".

It was at this point I spoke for the first time and asked if she was having a bad day or were we just inconveniencing her? She did not reply. As I put my glasses on, I replied they are very loose on my head, and started to remove them, she said "Keep them on, turn your head to the right, okay, take them off!" I handed them back to her and she bent the two nose pieces and handed once again slid them back across the table and said put them back on! I replied and said it was the width an not the nose piece, she replied, "I have my way of doing things" to which I replied well you are the professional, Dawn quickly snapped back at me saying "yes, I am the professional and have been doing this for 6 years!

I replied that her response was extremely arrogant to which Dawn replied, "yes I am the arrogant professional". I had enough and pick up both pairs of my glasses and my wife's glasses and said I would not be spoken to this way as a customer, Dawn replied "Too Bad"! I just want you to know we spent $609.37 and will never step foot in another America's Best facility again until I receive an apology and if I see Dawn in the store then it will not end well. I promise to share my experience on social media if this isn't resolved because right now I am not happy with my eyewear and certainly did not deserve the treatment we received.

Dawn is by far the most unprofessional employee I have dealt with and I can never say some should be relieved of their duties but I guarantee my wife and I could not be the first people that had a horrible experience because she was too polished with her short, arrogant comments and can say never in my life have I had a customer experience with such an arrogant experience. I am a V.P. for a multi-billion dollar company and am not someone who was demanding or rude with your employee and treated her with respect until she was so rude, first with my wife only and then with myself. It was a good day until Dawn ruined it and she should be dismissed of her duties.

This place is the MOST inefficient Doctor's office I have ever been to. Their membership in theory is great. $99 for a few years of eye exams, sounds great. However, in order to actually get your prescription, you need to first try the contacts before, then book ANOTHER appointment for the doctor to see them on and test you AGAIN (which would make sense for people new to wearing contacts, but not for everyone). Also, in order to get your first trial pair, they have to order them and this can take up to 2 weeks, once you get them, you have to book another appointment, the doctor needs to see them on you and then you are allowed to get your prescription.

I have used contacts and glasses for 20 years now and this is the first time I've had to "try on" contacts for a week before getting a prescription. This wouldn't be an issue if they had the contacts at the office, and if they want to see you to try to the contacts, whatever, makes no sense, but ok, but the fact that you have to wait in order to get them is ridiculous. There's no charge every time they need to see the contacts on, but it is a huge waste of time and the office is packed!!!! Nobody has that kind of time. When does anyone ever have to go into an eye doctor again after getting your eyes tested!?!? This is ridiculous and redundant, and inefficient!!! I would rather pay more, go once a year, like the rest of the world and move on, get my prescription and get my lenses online. Are they not confident enough in their own tests that they have to make you go there to get the contacts and then again after you try them on to see them on!!!

And to top it off, if they prescribe contacts for Astigmatism and you request daily contacts, you will one box with astigmatism contacts, which has 5 lenses, and the other eye without astigmatism, get 10 lenses!!! They aren't even!!!! So to summarize, if you go here, make sure you have 2 months' worth of your current contact lenses so that you have time to "try on" your lenses and go back so they can finally release a prescription for your lenses!!! You're better off just paying more ANYWHERE else. Walmart typically has appointments for the same day you're looking for, or even the day after, I would recommend not wasting your money, time or energy at this office. Horrible.

I made my appointment for the sole purpose of the advertisement on their site, 2 pair of eye glasses with free eye exam. However that is not what I received. I ended the appointment with a total bill of $309.95 significantly higher than the advertised price and that was for one pair of glasses, lenses and eye exam. I don’t understand why even when I chose glasses that were $69.95 the bill would be so high, and not include 2 pair of glasses. If I wanted a second pair I would need to add another $239 total cost for two pair of glasses would be over $500. I just couldn’t afford it, so I paid just for the eye exam which ironically totaled $70! I’m disappointed and frustrated that I paid $70 and didn’t get any glasses at all. Their advertising is misleading and needs to be more transparent, so consumers aren’t being tricked into make appointments for a price that isn’t really the price at all!

For most people they can get their contact lenses the same day as their eye exam. For me my prescription was "special" and needed to be ordered. So they gave me an ETA of 2 weeks. 3 weeks go by without any call or text to let me know my order had come in. So I called and asked, "Hey have my lenses arrived." Answer is no. So I said fine I, I wait an additional week and call them back and still no lenses. They put me on hold for 30 min and various people picked up the phone but those were calls for other consumers and finally somebody answered and tells me "sometimes it takes 8 weeks". This is unacceptable considering people can get same day service and they can get you a 2 pairs of glasses within 2 weeks.

I did this a month ahead of the time I needed them for the task. If you expect speedy response and results don't even bother. After my initial eye exam I wanted my prescription but they wouldn't give it to me because they wouldn't know if they fit my eyes until the contacts came in. Now a month later they still refuse to give me my prescription, and I still don't have my contact lenses.

I went and had an eye exam done by their "doctor" which lasted maybe 10 minutes (this should have been my first clue). After looking for frames I could not find any I liked so I went elsewhere and had my eye glasses made. When the glasses came back everything was blurry but I gave it some time to see if my eyes needed to adjust to the new prescription. After some time I went back and had them check to make sure they were made correctly, which they were.

Next I went to a professional eye doctor and had him check my eyes again only to find out America's Best did not do a correct eye exam. I then paid for another new pair of glasses with the new doctor and called America's Best to have them fix the second pair since they were at fault for doing an incorrect eye exam. They were so unprofessional and refused to do anything to fix the problem. Only said they would have their doctor do another eye exam but would not fix the glasses, what good would that do but prove they were incompetent the first time! Please save yourself a lot of money and go to a true professional and have your exam done, lesson learned and will never use them again!

My 5 kids wear glasses. I know that my husband's prescription was not that high but she still tried to play me a fool....The price says two pairs of glasses and a eye exam for 69.95....This is the second time I've gone with them for their special deal and I end up paying around 350.00 to 450.00 dollars the first time. I tried not to complain because I figured it was because I do have a strong prescription...

This second time around I know my husband does not and they scammed us out of thinking we will pay around 69.95 and like fools they got us for around 350.00. That's a way big difference. They are such liars...They should tell us upfront that we are just paying for frames. Described the sub standard, idiotic and greedy conduct in detail and never heard back from them. Cheap plastic frames that look like they import them for $10 per dozen. Metal frames did not look of quality that may last and fit correct. My research and study show the lenses used are also of low grade and accuracy of match with that of the RX and warranty have been an issue with many customers. The promotion is attractive, two pairs and an eye exam for $69.00. To their credit, the eye exam seemed thorough, although they do try to add another $10 for a glaucoma test. Then the fun begins. The $69 glasses are the lower quality plastic lenses and frames, and only in a few models. If you need or want transition lenses? Extra. If you need or want progressive lenses or bifocals? Extra. Everything other than the plastic lenses and frames is extra, extra, extra, and pretty soon you're quickly up around $400.00 plus. The transition lenses are poor substitutes for sunglasses, so if you need prescription sunglasses, guess what? It's EXTRA. I was so disenchanted in being nickel & dimed to death I walked out after the eye exam.

Their entire business model is based on limited selection and quality of the $69.00 special, and geared towards upselling until you are spending hundreds of dollars to be able to see. I would offer that before you get the eye exam, ask them which glasses and lenses qualify for the $69 price, because anything other than plain vanilla is an add-on cost. They have a long wall display of all the available frames, but literally only a handful of them qualify for the $69 price. Everything else is more.

So it turned out two days earlier, I had a full eye exam, which took 40 minutes. When I came into store I received a eye exam, which took 10 minutes. I found the difference in 0.5 and showed the manager (Mellisa). She said that the difference is small and I will not noticeable. I advised her several times that the lower part should for the computer distance and not for reading. I brought my own frames (expensive for me), the same as I wear now. When I came to receive my glasses, it turned out they were for reading. I pointed out this error to Mellisa. she said that I was wrong, because I check on a piece of paper. She told me I need to take the glasses home and test on the computer.

I try to explain to her that she was wrong and when I called the doctor and showed my glasses which were ordered in the same store 2 years ago they admitted their mistake. It took 30 minutes. I asked for a refund. She refused me because it was my own frame. Because part of the payment was covered by the insurance, I had to agree to send the glasses back. Now I have to wait three weeks again, and because the basic glasses are broken, I have to buy elsewhere and pay full price. My insurance only covers one pair. Totally unprofessional service, and disrespect for the buyer and no even single word of apology from her. I believe the company needs to pay attention on the reviews that are submitted by customers regarding the the customer service that provided.

***UPDATE*** It is two weeks later (September 18, 2021) and this has not been resolved. There has not even been an acknowledgment of the issue. I have been buying glasses for my whole family from America’s Best for about five years now, and have always been pleased. This month I got new contacts and decided to also get new reading glasses with prescription frames. (I have done this many times at America’s Best.) In three days my contacts came in to the store—great!

A couple of days later, the two sets of glasses came in; however, they had the wrong prescription. (The strength should have been 2.00 to be worn with my contacts—I am nearsighted.) They told me that the mistake was that they made the glasses using my distance prescription. Ok, let’s order the correct prescription. So, one week later, I went to pick up the new prescription glasses. They were the incorrect glasses again! I was then told that this was the correct prescription according to the computer, that the 2.00 that was prescribed somehow needed to be converted. He also told me it was the manager's fault for sending in the wrong prescription.

No, there should have been NO conversion needed, they are simply reading glasses at a 2.00 strength. Then he told me that it was not recommended to wear reading glasses with contacts. REALLY??? This is why I wear reading glasses in the first place! I was never able to get used to bifocal contacts. I am nearsighted, so have corrected lenses for distance that causes me to NEED reading glass. The gentleman at the store did not seem to understand this. I have had reading glasses with contacts for AT LEAST 25 years. I’m very confused why this is such a problem right now. I was not able to find a corporate number or any other way to contact to anyone. I hope that writing this review will cause some action toward resolving this situation. I hope to hear from you soon.

Midvale Utah. I had called previously and asked if they took my insurance. They said yes. So I made an appointment. When I arrive I check in and fill out all of the paperwork. They send me back and do all of my eye exam. When they send me out to look at frames, I've picked out a couple that I liked when a very rude woman walks up to me and tells me they do not take my insurance. She tells me I can either pay $50 for the eye exam, or pay the full price and get some eyeglasses. I wasn't expecting to pay anything as my insurance pays 100% of the exam and $300 a year towards frames. I ended up paying the 50 and leaving with no glasses. A month later I'm trying to find somewhere that takes my insurance and accidentally call them again. The lady who answers tells me yes, they take my insurance but it's out of network. This means I only get $70 towards my eyeglasses instead of 300.

I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE TWO PAIR OF EYEGLASSES for 69.99 when I came in. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. The lady I was dealing with in store was extremely rude and condescending. When I asked why they don't verify they can take your insurance before they send you back for the eye exam, her exact words were, "well. It's up to the CUSTOMER to verify we take their insurance!!" Very rudely. I said, "by calling previous to the appointment and asking?" She said, "yes!" I replied with, "that's exactly what I did." All of this for nothing. If the employees were properly informed, I would have walked out of there with my two pair of eyeglasses from my appointment instead of going through everything I have and I still have no eyeglasses.

When I asked to clarify the fee structure about the glasses, one of the representatives brutally explained with raised voice as if I was there to get them free. And when I went there to pick my glasses, the lady near by the door was also terrible. She looked me back and shook her head with indifference, when I didn't know which representative I had to meet. They should learn customer service from Chick-fil-A employee first. I don't suggest anybody to go there.

I said that it was only 4 minutes, and she said “4 minutes is 4 minutes!” I left and called the manager of the store. I was told that the policy is to ask the doctor if they can still see both of us, but that never happened. When I got the survey later that week, I wrote what happened. I went today to America's Best in Henrietta to have eye exam done and purchase two pairs of eyeglasses. I thought that my eye exam would be free since I was buying two pairs of eyeglasses as mentioned in their advertisement. I was told that the free eye exam would apply only if I got the prescription lens as well, and since I was purchasing only the eyeglasses I would have to pay the full cost of the eye exam. Though disappointed, I agreed to pay the co-pay for the eye exam and provided the insurance details. The sales person entered all my information into the computer and sent me in for the eye examination.

After the eye exam, when I went to collect the prescription, I was told that America's Best doesn't accept my insurance policy and I have to pay the full amount of $65. I had no option but to pay $65 for the eye exam and the full cost of $65 for one pair of frame (instead of the $64.99 for two pairs of eyeglasses as mentioned in bold letters in their advertisement). America's Best is untrustworthy. It needs to be transparent in its ads, instead of cheating its customers to believe in prices that come with several hidden costs.

I ordered and paid in full for glasses for myself ($200.39), son ($229.17), and daughter ($167.95). I was told the glasses will take anywhere between 12 to 14 days to come in. On Tuesday Feb. 23rd I received a message and all of the glasses that I ordered and paid for were in and available for pick up.

On Wednesday Feb. 24 we all arrive at the store. I received my glasses, my son's glasses were too small for his face. He needed extended sizes so his glasses had to be reordered and my daughter glasses were lost by staff. An associate named ** told me they were checked in on Feb. 20 but she didn't know where they were. We waited in the store for 30 minutes while they searched for the glasses with no avail. An associate named ** eventually told me, "Someone will call you tomorrow once we figure out what we're going to do." So we all left.

On Thursday Feb. 25 an associate named ** called me to schedule a contact class for my son, while on the phone with ** she never mentioned anything about the lost glasses for my daughter so I asked her if I could speak to the manager. ** stated that the manager wasn't available but could she assist me. I explained the situation with the lost glasses and I told her that they needed to reorder those glasses and expedite them. ** said that wouldn't be a problem, she will reorder the glasses and take care it.

On Wednesday March 3rd I called the store and spoke with ** and asked her if the glasses were in for my daughter and she replied no. So I told her I would be in for a refund. I then called the corporate office and spoke with a representative named Sade. I explained the situation with the lost glasses and how I felt the staff at America's Best was giving me the run around and not being attentive. Sade then apologized on behalf of that staff and informed me that the glasses for my daughter were never reordered and that when I came in on Feb. 24 the staff should have reordered them right then when they couldn't find them.

At this point, I told Sade that I was going to the store to get a refund because it's been one big inconvenience, the staff has done nothing but give me excuses, blow me off, and now my daughter is without glasses that I paid for and she needs them for school. She's at home on a computer 5 days a week for 6 hours. Sade apologized again on behalf of the staff at this location and stated that I could go to the store and get my refund but she was going to reorder those glasses and comp them to me because the staff at this location dropped the ball.

Sade put me on hold and called the store to speak the District manager **. He was not in and Sade informed the staff of the situation. They told her he was the only one that could give me the refund and he would be in on Thursday March 3. This should have been told to me by ** when I told her that I would be in for a refund. So Sade saved me what would have been a wasted trip. I went to the store and received a full refund on March 3.

On Tuesday March 16 I received a message stating that the glasses were in and ready for pickup. I went to America's "Best" on Wednesday March 17 and I said, "I was here to pick up glasses." The associate looked for the glasses and could not find them. She went and got ** and ** came over yelling.. "No. You got a full refund on all your glasses.. You don't get a refund and think that you can come in here and get a free pair of glasses." I told **, "I called corporate and ** is aware that I was told that the glasses are free because you all dropped the ball." ** said, "No. You were refunded."

I told **, "I'll just call corporate." ** yelled, "I don't care if you call corporate or not. You're not leaving here with a free pair of glasses. That's just not going to happen. Nope not happening. I'm not doing it." I didn't reply. I immediately called corporate while I was in the store. Corporate looked at the notes. Put me on hold and called the store. ** answered and at this time ** is right behind ** digging through a box of glasses and ** gave the representative from corporate every excuse as to why ** couldn't take her phone call. Corporate had to call the District manager to call the store to speak with **.

While ** was on the phone, she told ** "GIVE IT TO HER". ** then went to the back where she brought the glasses up to the front. They had a white paper wrapped around them with black bold letters that said DO NOT DISPOSE. ** cleaned the glasses and gave them to me and whispered an apology. I have never been so humiliated in my life. Never have I ever been treated like this by anyone.. Instead of ** listening to me and confirming what I said by calling ** her district manager for clarification, ** chose to be rude, unprofessional and treat me like I was a lying thief.

It was embarrassing and dehumanizing the way she yelled at me and carried on in front of other customers in the store. ** was too comfortable with her yelling and rude behavior towards me. She acted as if it was normal. I have never experienced such treatment in my life. All customers need to be treated with dignity and respect. I received neither at this location.. So are they cheating the insurance company or what's the difference. I really believe this needs to be looked into by the Medicare insurance. Shouldn't the price be close to the same no matter if you use insurance or cash.

America's Best!? More like America's WORST!! If I could give ZERO stars I would! I have officially been trying to schedule an eye exam for a month now! I first scheduled one at the Littleton location for 12/19 (a month ago). They send you all kinds of reminders via email and text, which sounds great IF THEY EVER FOLLOWED THROUGH. The first time I got a call a few days before my appointment saying their doctor had an emergency and they needed me to reschedule. Weird to have an emergency a few days before the appointment, but I thought fine, things happen, I'll reschedule, and rescheduled to 12/26.

On 12/26 I show up for my appointment, and find a note on the door saying they decided to close for the day... I'm like SERIOUSLY, but okay, I get it, right after Christmas, you want an extended weekend off, whatever. So I go and reschedule a 3rd appointment for 1/11. Now keep in mind, I was scheduling Saturday appointments for the first two because as a typical human being I have a weekday job and trying to squeeze in before they close is difficult for me, but this time I was like maybe weekends aren't working out for them, I'll try for after work on a weekday. Sure enough, on 1/11 in the afternoon they called and said, "Sorry, our doctor had an emergency, and had to leave early..." Idk what is going on with this doctor's life but it seems like a lot of emergencies, which shows complete unreliability. If I had that many emergencies I probably couldn't keep my job, but apparently this company is relaxed on their employees. Idk. Anyways.

So I talk to someone (note, they have an outside source make their appointments, the offices don't do them directly) and mentioned this was the 3rd time I've been flaked on, and their response was, "Oh... that office is short staffed, so how about trying a different location?" So I say, "Okay, let's go with a different location," and I scheduled an exam for today (1/19) at their Lakewood location, which is further from me, but if I have a chance of finally getting an exam, I'm taking it. So I drive there, and GPS takes me to the edge of a shopping complex, and where it seemed it would've been there is a sign on an empty store saying it's for lease. Of course I'm confused, and wondering if GPS took me to the wrong place. I look on my phone, and see that it's placing the location at what seems like TJ Maxx which is around the corner of the building. Weird, but I have seen eye places inside of stores, so I'm thinking maybe it's in TJ Maxx??

I go inside, of course it's not in there, I'm confused as hell and tired from a long day of work, so I call the office. It rings for a solid few minutes as I'm walking back outside and finally someone answers, and I ask them where their office is and their response was "Do you have an appointment?" Of course I say, "Yes... I have an appointment, I'm trying to find your office because my GPS took me to TJ Maxx." The guy basically chuckles and asks a fellow employee if TJ Maxx is around (? apparently he has no clue where he works?). His coworker says, "Yes there's one over there," and then he tells me he's sorry but if I'm more than 5 minutes past my appointment I have to reschedule... I'm like... "Okay? Well I'm here, and I can't find your store, where is it located exactly?"

Also mentioned that this is ridiculous that I've already been rescheduled at your other location 3 times, so I was trying this one hoping for a better outcome. He puts me on hold, talks to the doctor, and says the same thing, that he's sorry but "If your appointment is before 5pm you have a 10min window but if it's after 5pm you have a 5min window, because the doctor wants to leave." Granted this whole time he obviously has a smile on his face (you know how that sounds) and continued to chuckle throughout our conversation even though I'm obviously very upset... Moral of the story, this place has horrible management and staff that has never worked in hospitality and doesn't care about their customers, and after being forced to reschedule 4 times I'm over this company and suggest you look elsewhere as well.

I recently went to America's Best Eyeglasses center to get glasses for me and my husband. Everything was fine until we got fitted and were told that the glasses we had chosen we couldn't get because we had insurance. I'm looking like what? Really? We wanted the special 2 pair for 69$. At this point I'm extremely upset. Any special is only for people who don't have insurance. So in other words I feel we were treated unfairly because we had insurance. Which we had to spend money we couldn't afford but needed to spend because we needed glasses. We won't be going back because if I'm spending my money I want what the specials like everyone else.

This is my third year of going to America's Best in Colonie NY... I have had zero complaints with staff, service received or the products. Although the glasses purchased at 2 pair $69.95 incl free exam (which now gives free enhanced testing, that used to cost an extra $50) aren't built to last for years, they serve their purpose and keeps me coming back every year, not only keeping me on track to get my eyes checked every year and if you think about it, when you do go back every year, you can get a different style (who doesn't get bored with the same glasses every day?).

I go in with my mind pre made up knowing that I will not be purchasing the higher priced frames, fancier lenses, coatings, warranties or "upgrades". I left there today with 4 pair of glasses, 3 for distance and 1 pair of bifocals for $156. Upon being offered the add on warranty I explained... I purchased my "warranty" in the form of 3 extra pair of glasses in case one gets lost or broken (lol). Just like with any purchase you make, you likely get what you pay for and for the price, I would say I got a pretty darn good deal... Keep up the great work at being America's Best Colonie, NY, I certainly thank you!

I have to pay $180 for eyeglass. Not because of bifocal. Bifocal price is only $10. Receipt said right Lens $ $79 bifocal $10 Left lens $79 bifocal $10. I was so surprised this price. Then exam was $50. I just don’t understand. They said if I buy two pair glasses I will save money. But I still have to pay two glasses and two bifocals. Total would be $429 instead of $479. (Just because exam is free and pay only one flame.) Is this normal eyeglass price? It’s not name brand frame. I have bought eyeglasses before but never this much price I paid. Or I was just scammed?

The entire process was smooth and quick. All employees were professional and pleasant. The glasses came in 2 weeks. When I went to pick them up I was greeted immediately and the technician was. very patient while fitting my glasses. Total cost for 2 pairs was $ 69 as advertised. The Staff person at the Tualatin Oregon Store seemed very "untrained", unable to answer basic questions. All in all it was a very frustrating and unproductive experience .

My daughter and I ordered glasses and contacts from them. My daughter: they did not apply the insurance despite her stating we had insurance. Instead making her pay for me their insurance policy. The difference in price was $280. This took an hour phone call and an hour in person visit to fix. Her glasses were received but no call or text to state they were received. She called to check but the person mistakenly stated they were not in yet. I checked when I went to my appointment 10 days after she ordered them and found them their. Her contacts which were promised earlier than her glasses were never received with a variety of different excuses. After two weeks and several calls it was determined they needed to reorder them and there would be a slight delay in getting them due to issues with the company. Ordered 12/5 and as of 12/16 still not received.

Called on 12/16 hope to have them Friday. This is after they were originally ordered on 11/19. Myself: Appointment on 11-28. I needed contacts, glasses and reading glasses for when I am wearing my contacts. Glasses and reading glasses ordered, trial contacts given. Glasses retrieved 10 days later. Glasses needed to be tightened. Reading glasses were delayed. Follow up appointment made for contacts. Reading glasses after delay were the wrong prescription. Excuse given was there was miscommunication regarding what they were to be used for. So distance glasses ordered, and contacts, but staff did not know despite being told several times; that the reading glasses were needed in conjunction with my contacts. So exam for reading glasses needed to be conducted and reading glasses ordered AGAIN. They hope to have them before Xmas but may be delayed due to the holidays.

So examined on 11/28 and reading glasses may not be received until 5 or 6 weeks later. Contacts were charged, and called today to say oops I was charged incorrectly. I was charged for 30 day supply and not 90 day supply. They needed to get my information and card to correct that $200 difference and place the order. So 4 days after was supposed to be ordered they still had no been ordered due to computer problems but you had no issues taking payment and that payment going through immediately.

Also initially I was told $130 for the contacts; then when ordered was $187 now is $381. Additionally no guarantee if I will have them before the holiday as I there are manufacturer’s delay or holiday delays. The office refused to order the 90 day supply without the additional payment despite lack of confirmation when they would arrive. So I stuck with 30 day supply. So in summary, my daughter ordered glasses, and contacts on 11/19/2020, issue with bill; glasses delayed; and then almost 4 weeks later no contacts due to their issues.

Myself: glasses, reading glasses; and contacts ordered 11/28. Glasses have been tightened twice and still are loose with the excuse it’s the mask. I am not wearing the mask inside and they are still loose. My previous glasses from another place have no such issues. Correct prescription of Reading glasses still has not been received and may not have them until after Holiday so over 5 or 6 weeks from original appointment and same with contacts. Contact supply will be less than originally discussed and agreed to. Excuses given left and right and apologies for mispricing. Horrible experience and very poor customer service.

On 10/28/2020, I had an eye exam. Afterwards, I purchased eye glasses that came with a second pair of frames. My overall purchase was about $320. I was specifically told by the representative that my glasses would take about 2 weeks to arrive and that they could arrive before the two week grace period. After a week and two days I began to call to inquire about my glasses. I was told that one pair was ordered and the other was not completed. On the 4th of October, I was told that my glasses were shipped. I called back on the 5th, and 6th and I was told that my glasses had not arrived. I then inquired about shipment on the Weekends, I was told by the representative that they do not get deliveries on the weekends.

I called on the 9th, it was after 3pm they said that my glasses were not delivered. I called today at 1:55pm, I was told that no delivery had arrived. I then called back at 3:57pm, I was then told that my glasses had not arrived. For some reason, something seemed off. I literally got the feeling that someone or more like the whole store was being negligent with their job duties. I then called the Corporate office and confirmed that my glasses had arrived on the 7th. On the 9th, I called and inquired if my glasses arrived, I was told no. Today, I called at 1:54pm, I was told that no deliveries had arrived. I then called back at 3:54pm and I was told that my glasses were not delivered. I got this nagging feeling that something was off. I decided to call corporate to get a status update on my glasses.

It was then confirmed that my glasses were shipped to the store on the 7th. My glasses sat in that store for three whole days and I never received an alert that my glasses had arrived. I am beyond disappointed with the customer service that I received. I made it clear to the store associate that it was imperative that I get my glasses because I was driving visually impaired without my glasses. Also, I was limited with my daily activities. The total disregard for a customer that I received in that store is beyond appalling. I suggest that the entire store needs to be retrained on customer service skills and most of all professionalism. Just to put this review in context, my appointment for eye exam, glasses and contacts was during COVID and at 12:00 which is a peak time during the day for walk -in appointments. There were only three staff working in the front area of the office also. When I walked in I was a little concerned because there were a lot of people sitting around inside the facility waiting to be seen for various reasons. What I didn't know at the time was that most of these individuals did not have appointments for exams but were just walk-in's for repairs or simple service. I had already filled my paperwork out online, so I was ready to be seen and I would say I was called back in the first 15 min.

My technician and doctor were friendly and super fast. I had new contacts in my eyes in probably under 20 minutes and I can actually SEE with them. In the past it has taken doctors much longer to give me much less satisfactory results. I then went to pick out my glasses. There was a great selection and I picked out some really trendy gray/clear glasses with a mid-range lens. Jordon was fantastic in helping me choose and explaining my options then checking me out. Another employee, Rachel should be a juggler because she was welcoming clients at the door, setting up appointments, doing fittings and answering the phones. She was a blur.

This was honestly the best vision experience I have ever had. And I am 60. Also, they had great values on their glasses and the exam was also inexpensive. I highly recommend this location to anyone seeking a new provider. Just don't worry if you walk in and see lots of people...they will get to you, have a seat. Or better yet, don't go at noon!

The routine ordering was boring. The employee kept getting interrupted while working with me. Nothing friendly or helpful about my purchase. “Sign here, 2 weeks we will call you”. Nearly $400 and she treated me poorly. Fast forward to pick up day. BLM come across my phone with messages my glasses were ready. I found that unprofessional. I go in to pick them up, I’m told to wait by door. I’m called over and I sit down to a rude younger man who asked my name 3x.

I ask again for a store manager...disgusted he points over my head to another man who 3 minutes earlier I asked if he was the manager and he rolled his eyes and asked “why”?. He now is back at my fitting desk loudly ask me what I do I want, I quietly ask, because there are 4 employees staring at me, if we can step outside The glass front store so all can see but not hear us. He looks at me and says “ummm I don’t feel comfortable with that”. "Ok" I said, and I left. No glass case given.

I initially went in on Wednesday, August 19th. When I arrived I told them that I needed to get prescription copies for both contacts and eyeglasses. I saw the doctor and had the same request. When discussing my vision care plan, I noted how Aquacomfort Dailies Plus are great and work well, but they are expensive. I asked if I could receive a prescription to a 2nd contact type that is cheaper, so I could try something else, but if it didn’t work, I could resume my prior contacts. The doctor seemed to understand, and noted she had no problem writing me prescriptions for two types of contacts.

We concluded the exam and I went to pay. I paid my bill in full, was given the receipt, and then I walked out of the building. Once I got to my car, I realized I was not given a paper copy of my prescription. I returned inside and asked the receptionist for my paper copy. She assured me I did not need it as it is available online for when I ordered. I told her that I actually intended to purchase both my contacts and eyeglasses from a different vendor. She seemed confused, but then pulled out a doctor’s script and began to write me a paper prescription. This seemed a bit strange to me that it was not the doctor writing the note, but I waited and took the script anyway.

I returned home that afternoon and did not order my contacts. The following morning, on Thursday August 20th, I looked at my prescription closer. I was missing both the BC and DIA on my prescription. I then called the office in order to correct this mistake. When I called, the receptionist laughed at me when I told her my prescription was incomplete. She told me that she could just tell me the information that was missing and I could write it in. Knowing that this is illegal, I responded that, "No, I would like to have a real note replaced." I was then informed that I could come in to pick up another copy or receive a fax. I tried to set up a fax number and have it sent over, but I did not receive this fax. At this point I returned to the store to get an updated prescription.

After a wait, I sat down with the doctor and a receptionist and started to correct the mistake. I received all the information on a legitimate script that I needed now. However, I looked at what brands of contacts I had, and noticed it was only one brand written, despite the doctor and I agreeing on two brands. I pointed it out, and the doctor informed me that the second brand was America’s Best own brand, and that I didn’t need to have this written out. They then urged me to order some contacts from them on the spot. I did not intend to order from America’s Best Vision, especially after the blunders so far. I went home that afternoon and sent in my prescription to a third party online site. After sending this in, my order was denied. I then looked at it, only to realize the doctor had written me a script for Acuvue 1 day Moist. This was not the brand the doctor and I spoke about and not the agreement that we had.

Now that my prescription was still incorrect, I returned to the store on Friday August 21st. I explained to them, now for the 3rd time, that I had been given the incorrect prescription. I gave them the two copies I had of my other prescription. I was instructed to wait in my car and they would call to give me my updated script. I waited for about 5 minutes and then went back inside to get it. They gave me the script, and still had the audacity to ask me if I would like to order contacts from them. I informed them that I would not, and would also like the copies back of my two incorrect prescriptions that I had been given.

I was awkwardly told that they had been shredded and they could not help me. As a whole, this was a very poor experience. I went to the store with the hopes of getting a quick eye exam and an updated prescription so I could order my contacts and continue with my life. However, this process took 3 days and around 5 hours after including office visits, driving, and phone calls.

Do not even bother! I understand they sell cheap glasses, but I've had nothing but bad experiences with this place. The staff are always friendly and as helpful as they can be but the Company as a whole is a disgrace. We bought 2 pairs each. I very quickly had the lens pop out of a rimless pair. Brought them back, they were repaired, and I was told that I had just used up my 'Warranty'. It is really just 1 prepaid repair! My wife's lens keeps popping out of her rimless. I can put it back in, but brought them in for repair. The put it back in. I said I've done that 3 times, I need them fixed properly so it doesn't keep happening. I was told they're fixed now, that's all they can do!

The arms came off on my other pair Was told that they're broken and can't be fixed-need to buy new rims. These are my 'back-ups' that have been worn maybe a dozen times. So the "2 Pairs for $69" - Which cost over $200-plus "Warranty" (which can be used ONCE!) is a complete scam! The rims are cheaper than anything I've seen, including the big box stores! You'll end up saving in the long run (money and aggravation) if you go anywhere else!

I called them twice and every time they ask me to bring my son and the glasses and do nothing just promise to call back and they never do. I called the customer service to let me do the exam again. They asked me to come for the 3rd time or a refund. When I asked for a refund they said they will not refund me for the eye exam. It will be only for the glasses. I requested to be transferred to another location and retake the exam again. They told me they will schedule it at the other location and never call back.

I am so disappointed with my experience at America's Best. I bought my glasses back March, right after my purchase COVID hit full force so they were closed for a good Month or so. After they reopened about a month later I went to have my glasses adjusted because they were literary falling off my face. I got them adjusted and they felt really good (I'm guessing because they had fit so loosely that I was good). Well by the end of day they were hurting so bad the back of my ears had indentations from how tight they were. I took them back and had them readjusted because one of the arms had popped off. So once again I was good to go.

Then around another month later both arms popped off and one of the lenses came out. I went to America's Best to request they exchange the frames or get a refund because I did pay over 2 hundred dollars with insurance because of all the extras I got. I was told I had to make an appointment to come back, I asked if I was going to be able to get another pair and was asked if I bought the insurance for them. Well, no, I didn't buy insurance. I take very good care of my glasses because I always invest a good amount of money because I need to be able to see well. I was then told that if I didn't get insurance on them I would not be given another pair or a refund.

Are you kidding me? I'm currently wearing my old pair of glasses that I had before I got these and my prescription did change so I'm getting slight headaches. I mention that I'm wearing my old pair (2 year old) as a point that I take good care of my glasses. I'm not giving the option of getting them replaced because I didn't buy insurance. If you go, please buy the insurance and save yourself a lot of heartache and money.

I don't recommend anybody go here, I almost forgot to mention that while I was in the office there was another lady there that had been there for the 5th time trying to get help with her glasses to my right and a gentleman to my left speaking with the actual Optometrist about his glasses. I'm and have worn glasses from age 8 and have NEVER had the kinds of problems I did with America's Best.

I was on-hold with their customer service recording for 25 minutes, left messages and sent emails but got no response. There is absolutely no way to reach someone who can help you. The local store where I am a patient said they could not help because it was ordered online. I finally ordered from 1-800 CONTACTS and received the order in 2 days. It is also worth noting that I received 3 boxes for the price of 2 at America's Best. If this was not a known store, I would report the site as a scam.

I have worn glasses for many years, and find America's Best to be a terrific value. The price is very welcomed during these difficult times and I found my finished product to be better than I would expect. The best thing I can say is that the branch where I shopped (Shepherd Drive/Houston Tx) has terrific customer service. I had an eye exam there and ordered two pair. When the bifocals came in I quickly tried them on and left (not wanting to be in public any longer than necessary.) Once I got home....the lower portion of my glasses, used for the computer, did not work well for me. We then had a "stay at home" issued due to Covid 19, and after a month I went to a different optometrist for another eye exam.

When I took the new RX back to America's Best they quickly sent my frames back for the new Rx...at no cost. The manager MS J ** was patient, listened to my problem, and immediately began the efforts to satisfy me, as her customer. Not knowing if it was a misdiagnosed script at the start or if they were made incorrectly... Johnetta was kind, efficient and focused on solving the problem...difficult to find in low cost, high volume retailers. AB is lucky to have her and I was lucky to have dealings with her.

Before I began, I would like to say I will never, ever go to this America's Best optical located at 6009 West Parker Rd Ste 121, Plano TX 75093 ever in life. I walked into America's Best for an eye exam. Everything was ok, the optometrists was extremely nice and front desk receptionist as well. But when it came time for me to pick out my glasses everything changed. Like everyone else, I viewed the pairs of glasses I liked and tried them on. Out of nowhere this lady (who was one of the clerks) told me, when I put the glasses on, to place them in a small plastic clear bend that she handed me. At the time I thought nothing of it due to the fact of Covid-19 protocols being put in placed in many establishments throughout the city. But I noticed there was a ** woman who was picking out glasses as well, and she wasn't handed a bend.

I brushed it off but left because I was on my lunch break and had to return to work, leaving the glasses I originally chosen in the bend. After I left work, I went back to the optical where I had my eye exam, but when I returned, I noticed there were ** customers and the ones who picked out glasses had no bends at all. There was also a ** young man picking out glasses and placing them on his face, then placing them back on the shelf but no one ran up to him and requested that he place the glasses in the bend or was even handed one by staff members. Due to this, I felt discriminated against. I was so disturbed by it, I took photos as proof and to keep from getting upset, I left the store with no explanation.

I attempted to go to another location where the staff treated everyone that walked in the store the same including the safety protocols. I explained to the America's Best staff member on Preston St. that I had an exam at the previous store and wanted to choose my glasses at their location. The Preston staff member called the West Parker Rd. store where I had the exam. The West Parker store refused to release my prescription, stating to the clerk I had to come back and sign off on it. I'm not returning to a store that's blatantly discriminatory towards their customers. They have got to be out of their minds. What was done to me was extremely wrong point blank.

I chose America's Best (sadly they don't live up to their name) because they had the 2 pair for $69.95 and free eye exam. I'm not really picky on the look so I figured this would be great... should have read reviews first. My only caveat was that instead of the basic, I wanted to upgrade to transition lenses (turning into sunglasses outside). As I was waiting, I looked at the additional cost for the upgrade and it was about another $60 a piece so $120 plus the $69.95...I figured with tax, I'm looking at ~$200.

During the eye exam, the technician asked if I wanted a couple of upgrade options on the exam that would cost more and since my eyes had been bothering me and I was over 3yrs since my last exam I said yes. After the exam I sat down with the eyeglass technician and chose from their $69.95 option, the frames I wanted. I made it clear that I wanted the upgrade option and clarified the price on both pairs. There was good back and forth discussion that I was convinced we were on the same page. The total cost was ~$270 which was what I was expecting so I left thinking all was well. When I show up 2 weeks later, there is only one pair. I asked about my second pair and the gentleman researched it and said only one was ordered. I explained the whole thing and he said he would have to reorder the 2nd pair.

I'm thinking, okay an honest mistake, no big deal. I'll check back in another 2 weeks. When I call back they said I only bought one pair. I dug up my receipt and although the price was right around what I thought it would be, the ~$60 was for each lens not each pair and after further review it looks like they also charged me for the "free" exam plus the upgrades I had agreed to. The bottom line = when I made it clear I wanted the "deal" I didn't get it. After a couple of discussions on the phone and another in-person visit, it was clear they had no intention of adhering to what they had agreed to verbally. At one point they even said I didn't chose the right frame for the "special" which even the receipt showed that I chose from the $69.95 section. They said I never chose the "special" and that what they could do was get me my second pair for another $191 but this time they would waive the $50 exam.

Conveniently it was 2 days passed the 30-day refund option so that was out as well. It was my bad relying on their nice demeanor and courtesy and not double checking the details of the receipt. So initially it seemed like a nice company but I can't help feeling completely ripped off. If you use this company read all the fine print before you sign. Probably closer to "worst" than "best".

I had a gut feeling from that comment and the fact that the doc couldn’t use the technology correctly that I should not get anything from there but I gave them a chance.

First, the ladies in the lobby couldn’t read the doc’s writing and gave me the wrong prescription contacts. I decided to give AB another go after a bad experience in 2014. The wait time was fairly acceptable, and the tech was kind. However, she made a mistake and was trying to get me to read the eye chart on the wall without my glasses. Ok, people make mistakes, no worries. The doctor was nice, but I had made some assumptions which ended up not coming to pass. Namely, she never took the prescription off my old glasses. She did a prescription which ended up being wrong. Had to send back my glasses and my contacts (after another eye exam) for the right prescription.

The salesperson was very rude when I said that my prescription hadn't changed from my old glasses, so I didn't understand what the issue was. He said "everyone says that their prescription hasn't changed... I've been in this field for 15 years and they don't know what they're talking about. What makes you say you're prescription hasn't changed?" To which I replied that I was able to read the 20/15 line with my current glasses.

Fast forward a little over a week later, finally got my correct glasses and contacts. Glasses were great, I love the premium Transitions on them, and they're comfortable. The contacts, not so much. I had one of my contacts (monthlies) rip barely two weeks in. They are rebranded Coopervision (Sofmed). Contacted them with the issue, and they agreed to ship me a new lot number of contacts at no charge. Moral of the story, yes, they did good in trying to rectify three different mess-ups, but there shouldn't have been those mess-ups to begin with. The time was 12:49, I waited for 6 minutes plus a minute to get to the car, in REALITY I WAS 2 MINUTES LATE according to radio time, the correct time. This Nasty Twit MADE ME RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT for being 2 MINUTES LATE. I don't know why the employees have such a bad attitude at the University Parkway store, you can see it when you schedule online, you only have a day or 2 wait, at the other stores your wait is 1 to 3 weeks, that speaks volumes of the employees' behavior!

Was lied to and given the run around by 3 different employees. It's a consumer right that I don't have to come in the store to get my own prescription. Changed the daily contacts brand I've been using for 5+ years to a crappy, more expensive store-recommended extended wear brand without any notice.

I found two generic frames that I liked. They were included in their promotion. I paid for the more expensive polycarbonate lenses like always. When I received my glasses, they were twice as thick and heavier than any of my previous glasses from other stores. I commented that they seem really thick and heavy. I was told that they are light weight but they offer one lens that is lighter and thinner for more money. I did not want to pay significantly more again so I am wearing their heavy lite weight polycarbonate lenses. They seem heavy and slide down all of the time. I wish I went somewhere else. As a young adult I was told that I had an astigmatism and charged significantly more (like $150 more if I recall correctly) for my lenses when attempting to get the 2 pairs for 59.99. I was disappointed back then after finding out ultimately upon going to another dr subsequently and being told everyone has a slight astigmatism and mine was so minor nothing special is needed.

In other words they are finding ways to get paid for additional services that are not required nor are they probably doing anything to earn that money since nothing needed to be done. I attempted to go back recently and give them another try since they happen to be between my work and home. Initially I was charged an additional amount of what my insurance would cover and upon requesting a contact exam only I was apparently given both a contact and eyeglass exam. I asked a lot of questions in regards to what would be covered by my insurance and how this would be handled and why I was paying that additional $35 so there is no way I could have misunderstood this.

Upon being called to pick up my trial contacts which is all I requested, when I got there I was told I need to now make an appt for a check up before I can get my script! I paid for a contact exam came in to get my trial pair and am told upon arriving I now need to come back a third time. The girls at the counter were not at all nice and then attempted to lie and misconstrue the conversations that had happened. I now have no script because I do not want to deal with those two girls at the counter - they are incredibly nasty, rude and unprofessional. How is it this place is still in business? I asked them to show me where it states or where they informed me I will need to see a dr. to get my script...they said it's just the way they do things.

Honestly, I have the same contacts I always have worn and have done this for years without ever having to go through all of this. The dr. might ask after you put your contacts in how they feel but they don't really do anything. I do not understand how that warrants needing an appt - especially one they neglected to tell you to make when you are already coming in to pick up said contacts rather than telling you when you get there that you will need to return. Our time is worth as much as theirs is and on some level they need to get that. I'm 41 years old and have been wearing contacts since I was 12 and have never had an issue like this - I don't need the stress and now still can't get my script!

I felt dizzy and sick. They said to come back for a reexamination which I did and they said the prescription was correct. The Dr suggested getting a smaller frame which I did and was told I would be refunded when picking up the new pair. When picking them up the very rude women said, "No we do not give refunds." I told her I was informed that I would receive a refund and she said, "Oh it does say you will get a refund but for the future. We do not give refunds." She said, "You just have to get used to them." Contact lens exam was $89 dollars and for an additional $10 can be a member that covers exams for 3 years. Was year end so decided to get the contact lens exam to avail of insurance benefits. Already had got eye glasses exam done. Just needed CL exam. Was not a good experience with the particular doctor, an arrogant person. But things were about to get worse. They charged me $99 dollars after spending hours. Turned out they charged it as all club membership instead of communicated $89 CL exam and $10 club fee. Insurance pays for exam not club.

Called them. Person on the phone straight out said they would do nothing. Told me I had signed up because it was a discounted service not for insurance. She decided she knew better than me why I had service there. It was a long call with terrible customer service. The general attitude was that you are using a discounted service. You don't deserve bad treatment. Waste of a lot of my time, I decided I didn't want anything to do with them and said, "Please refund me." She says, "No problem but you have to come in."

I went in the first opportunity I could and was told there that she hadn't said I would be refunded. Another shocking interchange with staff there. Then offered to refund $10 as that was club fee. Completely contradictory, phone call said $10 club fee. Receipt says $99 club fee, zero exam fee and for refund the exam fee once again became $89. This place has wasted so much of my time and subject me to lies and really bad customer service that I truly feel it's America's worst. Never seen anything like it. Their employees do not respect their own product or offering, look down upon customers who use it and have no qualms lying. They took many hours of my life. When they called to place the order I was currently at work so I wasn't even thinking about having them sent to a secure address because I was rushing to handle that call and get back to work. As you all know packages have been stolen. We see it on the news. It happens all the time, I've had my car broken into. I've had my shoes stolen when they came in the mail.

I received an email a few days before the 7th stating that my contacts was delivered to my house, but I never seen them. I contacted America's Best on Friday February 7th at 4:43 p.m. I spoke to a receptionist at the front desk explaining to her that I haven't received my contacts even though I got a email saying that they was delivered. She told me that the manager was busy and that she will let her know what was going on and that the manager was going to give me a call back. It is now Sunday February 16th and I have not received the call from America's Best. I have not heard anything from them. I've been having a horrible couple of weeks so I haven't really had time to reach back out to them. I count it as a loss but I know I will not be returning back to America's Best.

Saw Ophthalmologist and received prescription. Picked my 2 glasses for $233 with recommendation from the customer service personnel to purchase the SV Polyplus Aspheric lens because it is 2nd to best in getting the lens thinner and better lens than plastic. I was told glasses take 10days to be ready. Glasses took more like 2 weeks. Pick up time glasses were very blurry. The service representative recommended wearing for a day to see if eyes adjusted. I reluctantly agreed though I KNEW glasses definitely were not correct. Images were not crisp and clear. Wore them on drive home and had to switch back to my old glasses (which mind you were very crisp and clear. I only bought new glasses to get larger frames).

Returned next day and eye doctor checked and realized glasses needed correction in lens area. Another week and half and glasses are ready. Picked up and tried at first glance could see straight looking directly ahead. Switched out of glasses to my contacts and went home. That night put glasses on and realized could only see clearly if looking straight ahead in small area of glasses. Areas outside like sideways or down bottom of lens were blurry. Went back with glasses and also informed representative that one glass was extremely thick though other was not and I paid for thinner lens. Informed them that I could not use the glasses since could only see out of the one spot.

Spoke with ophthalmologist who informed me that is how the glasses are. I obtained my prescription to go get glasses elsewhere. I went online after a week to see if a corporate office exist to file complaint and saw that glasses can be returned 30 days with receipt. Nowhere on receipt says glasses can be returned nor did any representative offer to refund my money less the eye exam as website says. I would presume that the representatives hope no one returns the glasses. Now I will have to try to battle with company for refund since I see the 30 refund policy and I am a week past the 30 days - though I have only had the glasses in hand 1 week since they had the glasses almost 1 month making it and correcting their own mistake.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!! The customer Care representatives do not offer sound advice. They mislead you and are lacking in true knowledge on glasses. I made so many trips to this place only to still be unable to use my glasses. I am still using my old glasses. I have been wearing glasses and contacts for 30 years and this is my worst buying experience!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!

I went to an America’s Best office in south Florida for an eye exam and ordered two pairs of glasses. The eye exam was satisfactory and the glasses which were delivered would meet an acceptable standard. Fitting session was short but in general the fit was OK. Lost a pair of glasses (sunglasses) while on vacation and attempted to use the America’s Best website. I found the web page difficult to navigate, but long story short I selected what it appeared was the sunglasses (from my original order). When the glasses arrived they were NOT what I had originally purchased. I took them to an America’s Best office along the coast of SC to see if I could get the lenses tinted (to make them sunglasses) and after speaking to three personnel in that office was told they they could not tint the lens and had nothing to do with the “online” side of the business. Not at all a warm or friendly attempt at customer service.

Called the Customer Care number and after holding for an extended period of time, finally accepted their offer to leave a number and message and they would call me back. I did NOT get a call back from them. Many days later I got an email stating: “Thank you for contacting America's Best Online. I apologize for the delayed response! I am sorry to hear that you are not liking the glasses. I have placed the items in the cart with the correct lens type in order for you to receive sunglasses. This is the pricing for the progressive with transition lenses. I emailed a return label to send the items back and placed a note in your account to refund the order in full. If you need further assistance, please contact us at...”

Checked my spam folders but did NOT receive an email with return label. Checked online and finally identified what I believe was “the cart” referenced above, which listed what appeared to be sunglasses but with “transition lens” which I did not want, nor were the original sunglasses which I lost. A follow up email was sent to describe what I wanted and to inquire about the price (which was not at all clear on the web page order).

The response I received was: “The return label was emailed to you through UPS. This email may have gone to your spam folder. In the email from UPS, there will be a return label you can download and print to wrap around the current packaging to return for a refund. Secondly, the items placed in the cart is a total of $389.95 and this is for progressive lenses with transition gray coating (meaning it goes to sunglasses in the sunlight and clear in regular light). I would be happy to change the type of lens to a lined bifocal with just an 88% tint on them, but they will be permanently tinted as a lined bifocal lens cannot be transition. The items have to be re-purchased as the original order is a different price. I hope this clarifies things for you. Thank you for choosing America's Best.”

Finally, frustrated I replied back them to just forget about it. I had no intention to pay nearly $400 for a pair of their merchandise. I never mentioned anywhere in my contact about “lined bifocals” and I have no desire for “transition” lenses. Best I could tell, each contact made it clearer and clearer that I would be better off to cut my losses and end my business with America’s Best. I definitely DO NOT recommend this company based on my experience. Your mileage may vary but I am SURE I will never use this company again.

I have never received such horrible customer service, at the same place, on 3 separate occasions!! I went in for an eye exam on Dec. 31, 2019, at the Royal Palm Beach, Fl location. The doctor was very nice, but I found the exam to be a little rushed. I walked around, trying on different frames for about 20 minutes. The store was NOT crowded, yet no one approached me at any time to ask if I needed an help or at the very least to let me know who to go to when I was finished. I stood in the middle of the sales floor for several minutes, after I had made my decision. There were 2 employees (a male, Neil and a female) sitting across the store, staring at me and chatting amongst themselves.

When another clerk finally asked if she could help me, Neil finally yelled across the store (didn’t even stand up) and said he had my file. I walked over and sat down; he didn’t even greet me, and just asked if those were the frames I wanted. He asked if I wanted insurance on them, and when I declined, he continued looking at his computer and said, “Ok, so you’re telling me if they break you’ll just pay for new ones at full price...Great." He then asked if I wanted protective coating on the lenses and I said laughing, “I only want whatever the insurance covers." I didn’t like his attitude at all, but tried to be patient.

He made a snide remark saying “What the insurance covers is just a BASIC pair of glasses." I told him that was fine and he finished up on the computer, hardly looking at me, then said, “It’s $25," and gave me a receipt. I told him I was also picking up my husband’s contracts order, but he didn’t even acknowledge me. I truly thought he hadn’t heard me since he continued to buzz around behind the desk for 5 minutes without saying ANYTHING and then disappeared. I asked another clerk and she said that Neil would get them for me. He never did.

So finally another lady brought them out. I went again last week to get my daughter’s contacts, and even the receptionist was not friendly/welcoming at all. Neil was there again and had me wait for a while; same cold attitude. Today I went to pick up my glasses, and the same receptionist was there with her attitude. She said I had to wait for Neil. I asked if someone else could help me and was told, “No.” So I sat down to wait for him to finish with a couple’s order. I finally got my glasses from another clerk, after waiting a while, but I honestly feel my Dollar Store reading glasses are clearer than these!! Unbelievable. Never again. People stay away!!!

There were all these added fees...a contact fitting fee, a fee to make glasses scratch resistant, a fee to make them glare resistant. I did agree to get transitional. If the people had been nice, I wouldn't be writing this. The girl behind the counter was just confused. She made appt for my follow up. I asked if I just wait for someone to help with picking frames. She said, "when would you like an appointment?" I said, "wait, I need an appointment to pick frames?" She said, "No, for your follow up."

I'm always very careful with the proper handling and cleaning of them. Well after I cleaned and cleaned nothing worked. Still very foggy.

I came to the conclusion that both lenses are very scratched in circular motion, like they're getting scratched with the cleaning. It hasn't even been a year and I'm left with no glasses because I can't see thru them and America's best won't do anything about it. It's bad quality lenses and it's unfortunate that they advertise what they don't give customers. That's false advertising and very cheap low quality products. I will never go back to America's best glasses. And I certainly do not recommend it to anybody. We should all start a class action Lawsuit. I'm very dissatisfied and blind. Alma.

I have gone to America's Best for contacts, no problem. My employer covers us with Vision Insurance to be use every two years. I decided to go back to glasses believing AB would be my best alternative since they also were my Contacts provider. I had also purchased a membership to receive FREE exams for contacts and glasses, along with discounts on purchases.

I was excited about getting the glasses since waiting for two-years. My membership covered the eye exam, once the exam was complete, I picked out frames and discussed with the clerk the type of glasses I would be purchasing. My choice was Readers or Progressive Lens (no-line bifocals), I chose the Progressive Lens. She told me the cost of everything out of pocket ($55), I was told they would be ready in a week, I left and a week later returned for my new glasses. I was wearing contacts, and told her I would try on glasses when I got home. I could see, television better but I couldn't use for reading, there was no improvement. I called, they told me to return.

They concluded the problem to be the glasses were READERS, I told them that was not what I requested. They had to reimburse my Insurance, and my credit card and we start over for payment. They said the glasses would have to go back to lab to be done correctly, they re-billed my Insurance and my out of pocket cost was $200. I picked up the new pair a week later and they still were not right, I explained that driving in them was blurred and I had to focus in on objects by adjusting my head until I got clear vision. They said that the bi-focal was too high and they would have to lower it. OMG!!!! When I returned, I took the glasses home and they are STILL not correct.

At this point, yes, their attitude was somewhat not very helpful and friendly as when I first walked in the door. I decided, I would take the loss. I have planned to go get my eyes reexamined at another location and compare with the exam they have. Either, they incorrectly examined my eyes or their lab people don't know what they are doing. In the midst of this turmoil, they sent me a bill two weeks ago stating my insurance company didn't pay for a service and I STILL owe $118.00. It doesn't state on the bill for what. I contacted my insurance company and was told they have NO recollection of a requested payment from AB which they had refused. I contacted AB and they have not responded. I am done with them on Contacts and Eyeglasses.

The person that was taking care of me went to the manager and confirmed that there were no glasses that were made in America to buy. The glasses that were priced at $69.99 were not the ones you see on TV. They are the ones you won’t like. The ones that you see them advertise on TV cost over $100 per pair. Then comes the other charges. For 2 ugly glasses and all added costs plus eye exam I paid $645. The eye glasses did not even last 6 Months, I cannot see through them, they are foggy. I called America's Best to explain that the glasses are not working for me and the person that answered the call blew me off.

Right now I am back to using my old glasses from Visionworks which are 5 years old but work better than the new ones I got from America's Best and the vision works glasses had brand name frames and were much prettier with same price that I paid at America's Best. As a matter of fact $645 was out of my pocket and they claimed more from my insurance. I regret wasting my money at that scam store. I should have just left and went back to vision works after hearing the total out of pocket amount. Every time I see their scam advertisement, it pisses me off because I know they are lying to people and I decided to warn people about these scammers so they should not fall victim like I did!!!

I had a warranty though so I ordered another pair and was left without for almost a month. Finally got my new pair and wore them two times and they broke in exactly the same place, while I was putting them on.

I went in to let them know and see what they were willing to do, NOTHING, they blamed me for picking the wrong frames and told me there was nothing they can do, the lenses were brand new but they wouldn't even let me buy frames again. I called corporate customer service and they also told me there was nothing they can do. It was a complete waste of my time and money. I feel like I got robbed, well because I did. It's not as bad as a lot of the reviews here make it seem. But it's not as good as the commercials either. Walking in seeing the 2 glasses and free eye exam for 69.95 special I thought wow! Place is so cheap how do they make money??? Walking out I realized ohhh... A few things you should know before going in. Can you get the 69.95 special? Maybe, would you want it probably not. I'll explain to get the 69.95 special. Your vision can't need more than a correction of 2. If it does you'll have to pay extra 50$ for a higher index lens. And that's how they make their money on upselling every little thing. If you need a -4 on your glasses that 70$ pair would easily more than double to 200$. Then the other thing is all these glasses are cheap frame plastic lens glasses. So if you want better Frames, coatings for scratch anti glare, polycarbon tough lens, All will cost extra all not cheap. So there you go secret to how they make money while having such low prices.

All in all they are about the same if not a bit better than a few eye glasses places I've been to just don't like the bait and switch ads. But if you know what to expect not that bad. Online is really the place to go only problem was my PD but I used standard turned out ok. I got these glasses I have right now for under 50$. Best pair I've ever owned. Anti glare coating is wonderful! And it came standard on these free.

I ordered my glasses on October 2nd - the same day I received 5 emails telling me I needed to submit my prescription.. to which I submitted it all 5 times. On October 9th (an entire week later) I was sent another email that I needed to change the type of prescription from progressive to single lens. It is now October 28th and I have not received my glasses. I've contacted customer service multiple times with no help from them. Since the 16th the status on my glasses has been "in quality testing" but customer service then says it's being sent to the shipping facility - they've been saying that since last Monday.

I finally got a shipping number this morning -- only because I once again contacted customer service. Guess what? They haven't been sent out yet. Every time I ask they say, "Well you ordered them on the 10th, so it's still within our time frame". But I didn't order them on the 10th. I ordered them on the 2nd. Then they say "well you messed up on what kind you needed so they were late in production". I would have gladly and quickly fixed that if I had been told that, but they clearly didn't even look at the order until the 10th -- so either way it would have still been delayed. Then I keep being told because of the free shipping option it's going to take an additional 7-10 business days. So that puts my glasses here sometime around the 7th or 8th of November over 5 weeks after ordering. But to really put it in perspective here, I was given a breakdown of timeline.

    Processing order - 2-3 days
    Production - 5 days

    Inspection - 3 -5 days

That's 15 days -- even if we're working on their messed up timeline of the 10th. They should have shipped out by now. I can't even see the order on my account is the problem -- at this point I don't even know which frames I ordered. If I could rate this a negative star I really would. It's been the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I spent a lot of money that I had been saving for these glasses.

I informed him that the price inside of the case states $3.99. Minutes later he tried to increase the price by telling me that the purchase price was actually $5.99. I told him that there were several other cases with the same price inside of the case and the sign for the case I chose clearly reads $2.99-$3.99. He rudely and unprofessional told me that the case was marked wrong and I can either choose to buy it or not. I told him that there are several other cases that read the same price and the mistake was made in house and he should professionally honor the price.

I asked to speak to a manager and that is when he conveniently stated he is the manager **. I asked for my money back and he gave me my money and threw the case on the counter. The service I received from him was entirely unprofessional and it is obvious that he tried to run a price marking scheme. This business deserves a zero rating, but there is not an option for that therefore I will give it the lowest possible.

Rude or weird folks in San Jose office. I went there because they had glasses advertised for $69 a pair. They said they will not take prescriptions which are attached in email or photos. I thought I order glasses online and so printed prescriptions is not a legal requirement. The way they behaved was weird, as if they didn't care to lose business or provide business to me. The behavior was very rude.

I don't usually like writing negative reviews the first time I visit a business because I like to give them a chance, but my experience this morning at this place was way below my expectations. I went in for a contact lens exam to update my Rx. I stated that I wasn't interested in getting glasses (I always order online to avoid paying high prices for frames and lenses) and that I just needed new contacts. They pushed their brand on me, I agreed that I'd try them, and then when they went to see if they had any contact lenses for me for a trial, they didn't have my Rx in stock. I understood this, but I asked the saleswoman who was checking me out for a written copy of my prescription and she stated that she couldn't give it to me because the doctor stepped out. I couldn't go two weeks (according to her, that's how long the lenses may take to come in) without contacts, so I needed a copy for myself to order them elsewhere.

I left upset because I had just paid almost $100 for an exam with no results. I went back because I wanted to try to get a written copy of my Rx, and the doctor came out and handed me a piece of paper with not only just an Rx for GLASSES, and not contacts like I'd asked, but also the wrong prescription on them! It was -0.50 below what my actual prescription is. The doctor then told me, "I'll give you your contact prescription when it's finalized". He couldn't have just written it down for me? I understand - they want the business, not for me to go online and order them elsewhere, but if you don't have them in stock for me to purchase and I just paid for an eye exam, doesn't that give me the right to obtain my Rx? I'm so disappointed because I wanted to give this place a try and like them, since they're located a few minutes away from my job and the appointments are quick.

I really hope they do right by me and send me a legitimate copy of my prescription - not some random number that isn't even my correct Rx. The fact that I had to stop back in immediately after my appointment and the doctor couldn't be bothered to correct it for me is really disappointing. If they thought not giving me my prescription would guarantee my future business, it unfortunately did the opposite. Unfortunately places like these are more about the sales than the actual quality of client care.

I went in on 8/16/19. Picked out 2 frames. 1 for my every day and another for sunglasses. When I placed the order everyone was very nice. I told them that I had lost my glasses and really needed the new ones. About 2 weeks later I received a call that my glasses were in. When I went to pick them up, both glasses were put in the same frame and not what I had picked out. I work in customer service, I understand things happen. They placed the order again. Another 2 weeks go by get the call to pick up my glasses. This time my reg glasses came but no sunglasses. Needless to say I was mad. Again I am in CS and when someone is having a issue with what I am helping them with, I stay on top of it. Follow it through until it is resolved.

As I was waiting for 3 of the CSR to figure out where my sunglasses were, not a one of them said a word to me. Not a, "I’m sorry, let me find out for you," nothing. I got up and left. Told them when they figure it out to call me. To date I still have not gotten my glasses. Called the corporate #, they said they would check into it and they would call me back. No callback. I just placed another call to the store manager. No call back yet. I would get my money back but it was through my insurance. They only cover one frame a year.

Arrived for my scheduled eye exam under the "Swoop in for TWO Pairs, just $69.95" advertisement. I wanted to use my frames that fit perfectly. Just needed an updated Rx and lenses replaced. Was told that it was an additional charge for that. So they will provide cheap plastic frames with lenses and a free exam for $69.95 but if you want to allow them to keep their frames and use your frames, it is an extra charge. Was told that to replace the lenses in my frames, the charge would be $220 for one pair and $440 for 2 pairs. That is not "cool". Never was told what the charge would be to include the exam but was told I would not be able to find a better deal. I mentioned that the on-line supplier provided the lenses and the frame for $58.95. They quickly recognized that I was not going to a victim of their practices and did wish me a good day. I wonder if anyone gets out of there with an eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $69.95.

Well, after seeing so many commercials on TV about this place, I decided to go! MISTAKE! When I walked in everyone said, "Hello." The a woman named Catherine said, "How can I help you!" I told her my price range! I already had my script from a previous place for my glasses! I picked out a pair of frames! She then continues to ask me which pkg do I want! I picked the middle one for clarity! I told her in plain English that I would never buy a pair of glasses without transitions! I also have to have no line bifocals, which she said, "Of course. No problem!" She said, "I can submit your $125.00 to Aetna for your insurance. All you have to pay out of pocket is $78.08!" I thought, "Wow, great price!" The frames were only $65.00, so I go to pick them up yesterday and I'm on my way home and they are not transitions!

So I called and talked to the GM and she told me over and over again! "I APOLOGIZE! BUT even though it was a misunderstanding you will have to pay an additional $75.00 once we add the transitions to a new lens that we will have made up!" I decided yes at first and then I thought about it and said, "Hell No!!"

I called back and told her, "Cancel my complete order!" She said OK! Never Ever will go back, plus I am going to contact Channel 7 News in Chicago about this! Terribly Disappointed!

I went last Saturday to get a pair of glasses and contacts. They took a while but overall I was happy because of the pricing. HOWEVER, I scheduled my son an appt (he’s 5) I spoke to 3 different people on Thursday 8/1/19 and finally got his appt scheduled for 8/3/19 at 11:20 because my follow up was at 11:45 the same day. I was put on hold many times when I scheduled his, talked to 3 different people (I have no clue why?) I told them he was 5 and failed his vision test at his pediatrician. They scheduled his appt. I confirmed both of our appts via text messaged on Friday. I wake up on Saturday morning and check my e-mail & I have one from them saying my son missed his appt but I checked my texts and it was verified for Saturday.

I called them as soon as they opened and they tell me that they didn’t realize he was 5 and they only see children who are 6+ years. That i would have to take him elsewhere. This bothered me horribly because I talked to 3 different people when scheduling and I told all of them he was 5 and they still scheduled him.

Flash forward to my appt. I was running behind. I called them on my way and explained that I was stuck in awful traffic. She informed me that I have a 10 minute grace period (giving me until 11:55) and that I could reschedule for 12:15 but she said I’d be fine and make it in time. I thank her and we get off the phone. 11:45 comes and I’m still about 10-15 minutes from their location so I call them. I automatically get put on hold - FOR TWENTY MINUTES. Nobody picked up and asked for me to hold longer. No one.

A girl finally picked up the phone and I told her I was parking and coming in. She apologized for the wait and told me that unfortunately I would have to reschedule even though I was on hold for 20 minutes (I’ve got screenshots to prove it). I walked in and asked for my glasses and the manager comes up to me and said that I would need to reschedule my follow up because I was 5 minutes past their grace period. She informed me that Saturdays are busy, even though when I called Thursday to schedule my son I was put on hold for a total of 10 minutes and had to explain to 3 different people just to schedule him.

Their time management is AWFUL. The fact that they can mess up so much and it be a hindrance to the customer is just beyond me how they’re still in business. My whole family (including my mother and siblings) will NEVER go back there again. I will not recommend them and will persuade those I know to steer clear of their facility. This was at the Snellville location off of 124. They have AWFUL time management.

This was my 3rd time in 6-7 years using America's Best. In the past there have been some minor inconveniences and delays. I hoped things would go better this time. The initial visit went well. I was told to expect my glasses in 1 to 2 weeks. Two weeks passed, no glasses. Dave, the manager, admitted that the order card had been marked as 'dispensed' and the order had never been sent to the Lab. I requested an expedited order. He said it should not take more than "a few more days". My glasses arrived several days later. The right side lens was incorrectly made; the glasses were unusable. I requested the new glasses to be compared to the prescription from my ophthalmologist. Dave found that the order that was sent to the Lab was incorrectly written by his staff member. I cancelled the order and demanded a full refund. Dave apologized for the delay and the incorrect lenses. My payment was refunded. I will never use America's Best again.

As a result we had to go someplace else to get their eye exams. After getting their prescriptions I looked on the website to find out about the $69.95 special. The website specifically says any two pair of glasses with single vision lenses for $69.95.

I then proceeded to go to frequently asked questions where one of the frequently asked questions is can I share the $69.95 with someone? When you click on that question it says that the two pair for $69.95 entitles you to a free eye exam and any two pair of glasses with single vision plastic lenses for $69.95. But when you call you cannot share the special between two people and my problem is is this is not stated anywhere on the website even when it is specifically asked. When you tried to call into the store you're on hold for 20-plus minutes when you tried to call into customer care you get a scripted answer after being on hold for a good 20 plus minutes again. The customer service is not very good. Wait times are horrible. And the website is misleading and does not provide the correct answers or information.

Went to America’s Best because my regular eye doctor cut down on his hours (patient for 10+ years but he could only see me during my work hours.) I save up $200 each year for my exams, contacts and glasses, and the lenses. I took my $200 to America’s Best in March of this year, and it is now almost August and my I still cannot see properly. Went back to America’s Best three time trying to get my simple prescription correct, and was told my eyes would just need to adjust.

I ordered the contacts, purchased the recommended readers and used my RX to buy frames and lenses from Zenni. I have currently gone back to using my old glasses (the ones that were not current when I went to America’s Best in March) and I can tell that my overall vision has declined. At one of the returns, I took my old glasses and old contacts box and said “just bump this up a notch, because the new formula is just not working for me.” The doctor never tested my glasses to find out the RX and wouldn’t look at my contacts box-just continued to tweak the RX he prescribed. I literally am driving with unsafe vision at this point-but I don’t have the money, or time off work, to go see my old doctor. Stay away from America’s Best.
