When the printer covered by my SquareTrade warranty malfunctioned and could not be repaired, I contacted SquareTrade. Was told that the product was still under warranty with the manufacturer and that I must contact them about the issue. After a frustrating experience dealing with manufacturer, I once again contacted SquareTrade to cancel the warranty coverage and get a refund. Was told refund would be prorated. However, the irony is that the SquareTrade warranty started at and runs concurrent with the manufacturer warranty. What good is that, especially if SquareTrade fobs me off to the manufacturer and then prorates the refund. Doesn't make sense for me to ever buy another SquareTrade warranty, does it?

My experience with a Claim just was not worth using SquareTrade again. I filed a claim and then it began. It's under a mfr warranty. Mfr says, no. Need proof. The Mfr said no. Then need Purchase Invoice. Then need serial number. Then spend half an hour troubleshooting the unit to make sure it is not working. Then something else. Then send the unit back. Finally, I said, "All this for a $48 item". It is not worth it. It took a month from filing the claim to receiving a check, and hours of time on the phone.

I haven't sent my computer in yet to be repaired because I had so many things. I had to get off it to put on a different computer. I'm finally ready to send it now. But what I don't understand is why I couldn't have gotten it fixed locally. It was only a case that had come apart and a cracked hinge. I had looked online and saw that other people had repairs made locally so I figured I could too. I called ST to ask why I couldn't just take it to a shop here that specializes in Dell, which my computer is, instead of sending it off and being without it. Basically the answer was "because you can't." No amount of reasoning with the agent got me any kind of explanation. Just "no." I could have had it fixed in one day but instead I have to be without it for a week or more. I have had good experiences with ST before but this one was very disappointing.

I had 2 of 4 Kindles I purchased in an HSN bundle that were dropped and needed repair. One worked fine but had a cracked screen, the other had a cracked screen and the background was distorted and it wouldn't function. The process to file a claim with SquareTrade was clear and concise. You only have to prove you have proof of purchase of the item and have the SquareTrade coverage package that goes with it. It was so simple, get approval, send in the items, and wait for their approved repairs.
I knew the first one was an easy fix. The second one I thought was beyond repair. I was so surprised how quick they made the first repair and couldn't wait to send in the second. Both were sent back in perfect running order. They work really well and I couldn't be happier. They stood behind their insurance coverage and went above and beyond to return my items in perfect running order. I have faith in their policies and will continue to purchase them on future items. I strongly recommend SquareTrade to anyone purchasing electronics. With this repair policy, I no longer have to waste money on disposable un-repairable electronics. SquareTrade, you're a Square deal. Thank You.

Initially, I called to file a claim and the customer rep misheard the model # phone of mine and issued a claim number with the wrong phone model for a screen replacement. I had to recall SquareTrade to correct and was told the computer system was unable to modify the claim and a new one would have to be issued. For the 2nd claim, instead of allowing me to pay for the deductible upfront and then go to an authorized company to replace the screen, they said they're only allowed to reissue a new (refurbished) phone, which was not what I wanted. The customer rep on the 2nd phone call was able to modify the option and allow for me to have my screen replaced at any store of my choice and submit my receipt for reimbursement (less my deductible). My reimbursement check was in the mail in my hands within days. As stated, the 2nd phone call and on, the service was amazing. Unfortunately, it had to take a 2nd phone call to get it right.

SquareTrade cancelled my policy while my claim is in progress. The reason given was that I’m not US resident although the residency requirement was stated nowhere in the Protection Plan’s Terms & Conditions. This Surface 4 and SquareTrade’s 3 years with ADH were purchased in the US through Amazon, and it was shifted to US address in 2017. I’ve verified that my policy has global coverage and residency requirement was not stated in the policy. While in Thailand, on April 1st 2019, my mini displayport was not functioning so I contacted SquareTrade and the claim number was issued. As Microsoft in Thailand cannot resolve the issue as my Surface 4 is TSA-compliant unit. Hence, the only way to have it fix is to get it done in the US, in which I’m vacationing in the US from 6 April-19 April.
After visiting Microsoft Store in Manhattan, the service representative stated that the mini displayport was physically damaged and need to be replaced. As Surface 4 is no longer in store, Microsoft offered to let me get Surface 5 as a replacement unit. After I checked with SquareTrade if it is allowed, SquareTrade instead cancelled my policy and refund the fee without my consent. My Surface is still unfixed. The reason given was that I don’t have US residency although the requirement was not stated in the policy. This is a very irresponsible practice. For anyone who knows consumer protection laws, please advise what is my legal recourse for this case.

I've dealt with SquareTrade for years. Some paid warranties I've never used. For my computer, no problem. They couldn't get a Technician to service it so they paid me for the Computer. Now my 65" TV is having issues and it is a real headache. 6 months after purchase, the screen had to be replaced. No problem. I've done the Software update. Manually and Automatically. No problem.
Now, the volume still doesn't want to work properly. With or without the Cable hooked up. The picture freezes. With or without the Cable hooked up. We get colorful horizontal and vertical lines. With or without cable hooked up. And I have to do all this troubleshooting. Missing work because you have to be in front of the product. I pay for the Warranties to have peace of mind. This is not giving any peace. This one item is giving me a migraine. Now waiting on a Supervisor to call me back. Hopefully to tell me a Technician has been scheduled to come out and Troubleshoot it.

However once the item was received (which I was only notified because Amazon send a receipt) I was given no information about the status of my claim and was only notified after one week that I would be receiving a check with no other information on my item. I would have preferred being notified that it was unfixable before receiving an email about the reimbursement.

My claim was #**. I had purchased the plan for a piece of exercise equipment. It broke...I put in a claim, and SquareTrade automatically told me that I needed to go to the manufacturer, as the product *might* still be under warranty. I did, and was told by the manufacturer that it was not still under warranty. SquareTrade had already closed my original ticket (even though the issue was NOT resolved). I doubled back with SquareTrade and told them that the item was not covered. They asked for a copy of the email from the manufacturer. I provided it, and then heard NOTHING back. This is not acceptable.

Updated on 04/03/2019: This has got to be the WORST warranty company to deal with! Unless you have plenty of time on your hands to be calling and being switched between departments, then stay away. Your first claim with them may go somewhat smooth on the first go round, but when the problem reoccurs in a couple weeks they will do everything possible to get out of fixing it.
They use rebuilt parts to fix your equipment, but will tell you they are new parts. Well when the part came in for my TV, the inner box looked like it had been used 8 times and the part itself was wrapped in a protective plastic that had been used so much that it barely was able to stick to the part. Another clue to it being rebuilt was that they put a core charge on the packing slip wanting the old part back so they can rebuild it and send it out again as a new part.
Samsung says they should not be doing this and should be using New parts and not rebuilt ones. My problem has still not been resolved and I am sure Square Trade will not address it anymore after I spent 2 days on the phone with them. I even told them to send a tech to my home and see the problem themselves instead of me having to keep telling them the problem. I see that isn't going to happen. Stay away from this company, as with all insurance companies all they want is your money and make their coverage sound good until you need them.
Original Review: Your 1st claim you file goes pretty good, but when the same problem reoccurs that's when the service is awful and Square Trade doesn't want to take care of the problem. While it was on I noticed 3 white spots in the screen. When I tried to file a claim they told me I wasn't covered because accidents aren't covered. They focused on the 3 tiny white spots instead of the fact that the TV wouldn't come on and ruled the claim accidental. Because of this I only got a refund for the insurance policy. I purchased a pool vacuum from Amazon. The vacuum stopped operating. SquareTrade recommended having an electrician take a look. The electrician said the damage was caused from strong surge or lightning. SquareTrade denied my claim because lightning damage is not covered. We informed them we didn't know if it was lightning; just that it does not work now and the electrician made an observation that the damage could have been lightning or a power surge. SquareTrade asked if the vacuum was connected to a surge protector.
We said it was and at their request, we emailed a picture of the surge protector. They received the picture and said the claim would be paid, but we needed to speak with a manager. Please call back. We called back, and they informed us that there was a problem with our account, and that the claim could not be completed at this time. They said they would call us back in two hours. They never called back. Then we called back, and they said all managers are assisting other customers. The representative assured me that callback avoidance was not tolerated at SquareTrade. I have still not heard back from SquareTrade. I feel like this form of communication is their "modus operandi" and that they hope that customers will eventually give up on trying to get their claim resolved.

They told me the process and that it would take a week or two. However, when I went to enter my warranty, it kept saying that the item that I purchased couldn't be found. So I had to call SquareTrade personally and tell them that I purchased a Bluetooth headset and the warranty. They asked me to send them a copy of the receipt, which I did. I scanned it and sent it to them in an email.
It took them a day to find it but still, they did and they honored the warranty. They told me to call them when I'm ready and we would through the process. Having my SquareTrade warranty has been valuable. What I had was the three-year warranty and I had the Bluetooth headset for over two years so it helped out. The money that I spent was better than the money that I would spend on brand-new stuff. Everything was done fairly in a timely manner.

We've used SquareTrade twice now (quite a while back), and both experiences were fantastic! I bought a Sceptre 49" 4K TV, and one day, it just shut off. I tried everything to get it back on, but ended up having to call SquareTrade to claim it. The rep had me run thru some steps, until it was determined it just failed (some internal power failure more than likely). Within a day or two, I had an email that contained my choice of THREE different TVs, and after researching, it was very clear every one of them were as good or better than the Sceptre. I made my choice, it was delivered promptly and we're using it to this day. Didn't even have to hassle with packing up and sending the old/broken one back.
Another time, after a canoe accident where our iPhones took a nice swim, we made at last one (maybe two?) iPhone water damage claims. No hassle, and SquareTrade promptly sent us a new phone(s). They do replace with refurbished phones, but we looked at the replacements and thought there was no way it was refurbished; it look and worked like brand new. I just had an insane experience with 2-10 Home Warranty who could learn a lot from SquareTrade. Using 2-10 is the worst decision you could make, and I mean even if you have a paid warranty with them.
SquareTrade stands by their warranties, and provides no hassle, no headache service, and the replacement policy is great beyond words. I do and will continue to use SquareTrade to warranty individual items, until when and if something happens to change my mind. You can buy a warranty with them, and actually know that you'll be hooked up quickly, easily and more than fairly if something ever happens.

My experience with SquareTrade has been a long journey. I originally purchased the warranty for a new MSI Gaming laptop in 2017. In early 2019, I broke the lid, making the screen inoperable. I filed the claim, and the instructions told me to print out a label, box the computer up and take it to the FedEx Store. I didn’t have a box, so I called and SquareTrade sent me a box with a label. That was on March 11, 2019. Since the communication said that they would send it back within 5 days, I figured I would get it back by the 20th or so with shipping times.
On March 25th, having heard nothing from the company, I searched for the number to call SquareTrade. I finally found it about 7 clicks into the website and called. I learned that the parts had to be ordered, and there was no ETA. I am not surprised by this. What surprises me is that this is a component of a large insurance company and there are no status updates or any real communication. I’ll keep this up to date as I learn more.

I purchased a warranty from SquareTrade on my Brand new Samsung 72” TV. I called in a repair as I couldn’t change channels or inputs. They sub-contracted a technician to repair it (Alpine Electronics, Sandy, Utah). The technician placed the TV on top of my wooden dining table, screen face down to open it up, we asked him before if he was going to put down a protection blanket, and he said he didn’t need one. He scratched the whole screen. He switched it on and said it worked and then quickly left. The repair didn’t fix it, as the TV still doesn’t change channels or inputs, and on top of that my TV screen is badly damaged. I called SquareTrade immediately to report the damage and the non repair, and they said that we signed a document by the technician called a “Repair Inspection Form”, stating that the repair had been done, and that there was no damage to the TV. I had signed nothing!
I emailed them the pictures of the damage, and they sent me the “Repair Inspection Form” with a bogus signature. The technician forged my signature and SquareTrade believed it. I sent them our driver’s license to prove we didn’t sign it. They did an investigation and decided to cancel our warranty, because the TV had physical damage on it. So they destroyed my Tv and my warranty got voided. I am filing a law suit this week against SquareTrade and Alpine Electronics for a complete TV replacement and damages. I would recommend NEVER buying a warranty from SquareTrade. SquareTrade is dishonest, and do not care about their customers. They treated me like I was a fool. It’s a numbers game for them, at all cost.

The hardest part was figuring out which one it was ‘cause I’ve had a couple of other SquareTrade warranties on different things and when they send it to you, it doesn’t specify which product that warranty is for. I've had four of them and I’m trying to figure out which one of them is for the music player. It would be better if they would specify on the warranty which product the warranty was for. Other than that, it was easy. They reimbursed me $18 and said they didn’t need the player back. That saved me 20 bucks out of a $25 item. It’s a pretty good deal.

I do not know what I am paying for because when I just recently cracked my screen they said I would have to pay $120 dollars before they cover the rest of the cost... What on earth am I paying the 8.99 a month for? A screen replacement where I live without insurance is only about $120. So how does having SquareTrade help me at all? If you have an iPhone save yourself the headache and just get Apple Care. It is only 7.99 a month and if you shatter your screen it's $45 and you are done. No sending in proof, explaining what happened, and then waiting to get your two cents back in the mail...

I purchased a 4 year warranty through Sam's Club 70 in Vizio TV. 2 years later my wife was watching TV. The TV went pop and approximately the center of the TV there was a break in the LCD like a spider web with two lines going straight up. So I called SquareTrade and told the representative what had happened and they said that there is no accidental damage coverage. I explained to them again that's something exploded inside the TV so they had me send them pictures and they said there's no accidental coverage so I asked to talk to her manager conveniently available but they would call me back in 5 minutes.
I never received a callback. I only got an email from a manager stating that they will give me my $99 that I paid for the warranty back. I have purchased hundreds of warranties through Walmart but not through Sam's Club and I have never had an issue with Walmart whatsoever. I told him if it'll make him sleep better at night that he could return my $99 but I think his company is a rip-off.
Hello James,
We apologize we were unable to approve your claim.
Squaretrade does our best to help all customers but we're limited to approving claims which correspond with your warranty coverage.
Squaretrade TV warranties include coverage against a variety of hardware and electrical failures due to normal usage. However, none of our TV warranties cover physical or accidental damage. In this case several Squaretrade specialists inspected the images of your item and determined this failure would qualify as physical.
Due to this we have refunded the full purchasing price of your warranty. We again apologize for any inconvenience.

Clearly states in warranty that it is covered for accidental damage and they state I needed to buy additional accidental protection which was never even offered when I purchased this product. So this is a total scam and false warranty. It clearly states that in section 2-A-b that it is covered and nowhere in this does it state you have to have accidental warranty coverage. I also talked to purchasing power and this item was NOT offered the accidental plan!! I will be informing everyone I know not to purchase this plan as you do not honor it and will also be sending a copy to the Better Business Bureau!!

I have purchased SquareTrade warranties for years. I purchased a 5 year warranty on my Whirlpool washing machine. I filed a claim online then was emailed to call. They do not have a direct line to anybody so you have to go through the same routine every time you call. Minimum of 20-30 minutes regardless of your question. Filed claim on Sunday, was told to call back Monday as their appliance dept was not open on Sunday. Called Monday 40 mins to file a claim. Had them listen to noise machine was making over the phone. They emailed me that night saying I had to send a audio recording of the noise to them.
I did it the same night on Monday. I was told 1-2 days to hear back. Friday came, still no callback. I called to find out what the status was. 3 calls back and forth over 1 hour total. Finally they agreed to send a repairman to look at it. First they had to ship me the part then the repairman would come. Repairman came on Friday to look, said it need another part. Mind you I have a family of 5 with no washing machine. Repairman called said they have the part. Will be there on Thursday. He comes on Friday said it’s not the original or 2nd problem he found now the drum is cracked. He has to call SquareTrade and let them know.
Monday SquareTrade calls me to tell me machine has external damage, I argue in fact that it has no external damage whatsoever. I has been in the same closet for 3 years with no earthquakes. They didn't want to hear it. I offered to send pics of machine to prove there is no external damage. After more than 3 weeks finally they told me they are not going to honor their warranty for a make believe reason they made up. I will never buy a warranty from them again as this now is their routine to deny your claim. ONLY buy the manufacturer’s extended warranty, at least they will come and FIX IT!

I initially purchased 2 SquareTrade warranties for 2 security cameras for my parents house in Sept. 2017. I purchased them on EBAY. They worked very well until about 3-4 months later they both went out a week apart. I tried to go through the Ebay resolutions but was unsuccessful. I called Amcrest technical support and the technician went through the steps to reset but both were bad. I filled out their RMA form that the tech generated and submitted. I received a denial letter as Amcrest cited the Ebay seller was not an authorized seller.
I tried to get SquareTrade to repair or replace but I had to go through so many hoops that I gave up in May 2018 so I could wait until the MFG warranty expired. I then called (March 2019) SquareTrade and was finally able to get the customer service rep to send me shipping labels to get them repaired. Great!! I got them back a little over a week later and the lenses were replaced. I went to install the first one and noticed a little red cap in place where the antenna used to be.
Both cameras were in this condition. I use Wi-Fi and cannot connect without the antenna. I contacted SquareTrade chat line and after awhile was told they would get the antennas and send them to me. Today I received a call from SquareTrade that if I purchased new antennas, and send in the receipts I would get reimbursed. Still without camera. Online now to order replacement antennas that were taken apart and not returned. Ugh.

Squaretrade TV warranties offer extensive coverage against a variety of hardware and electrical failures due to normal use. I asked why couldn't I upgrade to that plan. Customer service informed me that the accident plan only covers cracks to tablets and cellphones not cracked tvs because they are supposed to be mounted down or on a stand which mine was on a stand. Be realistic. You will be more than likely to crack the tv then have a mechanical or fire. On the brochure it has in parentheses accident plans (drops and cracked screens, spills and liquid damages) and it does not specify just tablets and cellphones. So I have lost my money basically. I filed a claim for a steam iron that failed. I chose to have it replaced. ST chose (as is its right under contract) to instead pay for a replacement item. The cost of replacement now includes 6% sales tax, which was not a charge when I purchased the item. The warranty contract does not exclude sales tax as a part of the cost of the replacement, nor does the contract limit the coverage to the (lesser) cost I paid when I first bought the item. After repeatedly telling me that the contract does not cover the increase in cost, and after admitting that there is no exclusion for sales tax as a part of the replacement cost, the Company just flat out refused to honor my contract. I reached out to Amazon and filed a request for investigation of the sale of fraudulent insurance contracts.
I am also filing a complaint with my State insurance commission since this is an All State Company, regulated where I live. I realize $6 is not a large amount of money, but I deeply resent being told that I am not entitled to a benefit I paid for. I know how to read an insurance contract. The customer service people at ST do not, as evidenced by the continued insistence that even if there is no language excluding payment, it is not their custom to pay for sales tax as a part of the cost of replacing the insured item. I know the definition of "purchase price" and sales tax is included. I will pursue this matter with both Amazon and the regulatory agency in my state. Insurance policies cannot be changed on the whim of the call center personnel.
Hello Jaye,
We're sorry for any difficulty you recently experienced within your claim.
Squaretrade's item reimbursement policy bases our reimbursement amount on the purchasing price of your item. We understand you feel sales tax should be included but we do not consider varying factors such as sales tax or shipping and handling fees as part of this compensation. This is especially the case if we've reimbursed you up to the maximum coverage value of your warranty, as we are also unable to provide compensation beyond this amount.
We can see a previous Squaretrade specialist addressed your concern and forwarded additional information to the email on file as to how we can resolve this issue. We appreciate your suggestions and will proceed with a review of your claims history to see where we can improve.

This warranty plan has got to be a fraud even though it's owned or underwritten by by Allstate insurance. I paid for a 4 year protection plan on my Vizio Smart TV I bought from Costco. About 3 years into the extended warranty I noticed my TV remote would stop working intermittently. It would not respond at all until I opened up the back panel where the batteries are located and took out or rotated the batteries in a circular manner. However, it becomes really annoying every time you try to change the channel or pause the remote that you have take off the back panel.
When I called SquareTrade they told me that I could buy a new remote on Amazon for $7, but if they sent me the replacement remote it might take off $200 from what the warranty will cover for future claims. I thought that was totally corrupt and that sounds like blackmail as a way of keeping people from making simple, but justified claims. Not only that but because the problem was intermittent they would only offer to replace it if you are actually having the problem when you call in, which is ridiculous. If it works when you call in then they don't consider it as having a problem even though other times it acts up continually.
Show manufacturers and these plans really don't keep their promises and pay for when the product fails. They also wasted an hour of my time for nothing on three separate occasions, said they would file a case number but when I called back they had no record of it as it appears they deleted it. You would think that if the remote just costs $7 they would just send you one, after all they pocketed my money for the extended useless warranty plan. They are crooks!
Hello Brik,
We apologize for any recent misunderstanding regarding your warranty.
Squaretrade does our best to provide the appropriate resolution for each claim but we are only able to provide a finite amount of repairs per each policy. In this case Squaretrade specialists likely recommended purchasing the remote separately in order to avoid any unnecessary utilization of your policy, though we again apologize if you felt this was our attempt to avoid service.
One of our specialists has reached out to further discuss our policies, as well as what Squaretrade can do to help with your remote. We look forward to speaking with you soon and improving your view of Squaretrade.

They say you're protected but are still denying my claim. I bought a digital a/v recorder and protected it with SquareTrade. There is no service facility for this but they demand I send it to Hong Kong for service. No address to send it to as the manufacturer does not offer service. Claim denied unless I get it serviced first. No help. Can't get it serviced, claim denied. No good scammers. Never again will I buy a service contract. They are worthless and just take your money.
Hello Ronald,
We apologize for any difficulty you recently experienced with your claim.
Squaretrade utilizes the manufacturer warranty for almost all products we cover, as this provides multiple benefits for our customers. Squaretrade can only provide a finite amount of repairs before a warranty is completed and issues serviced by your item manufacturer do not effect your Squaretrade limit of liability.
When this was brought to our attention one of our specialists reached out to discuss the situation, as well as a resolution to your concern. Based on our conversation we believe we reached an amicable resolution for both parties and we greatly appreciate your time

Original Review: We purchased an XBox 360 S1 from Sam's in December of 2017. In December of 2018 we started having problems lem with the device reading the games. We filed a claim. Two weeks later it was returned to us unrepaired with the following explanation "Unfortunately, our technicians were unable to repair your item because the issue with your item was caused by accidental damage, which is not covered by your SquareTrade plan you purchased". Upon calling them I was told it had liquid damage. Now keep in mind originally it would not read the games. My question was, how we never spilled liquid in this device. It always sat next to the 60' TV on the TV stand. How in the world did it get liquid damage to it. Well I proposed, "If this did happen it occurred during transient your location."
Keep in mind it a little over a year old and we paid $400.00 for this device. They are a waste of a dollar, poor customer service, poor communication on claims. If I were Sam's, Walmart or any of these other companies that do business with or promote SquareTrade I would cease dealing with them before you lose customers. There are over 1700 bad reviews on this site. That's from those of us who took the time to complain online. Think about how many others said "Just screw it". I would never purchase another product that if they say the extended warranty is thru SquareTrade I will leave said item in the store. Thanks, but no thanks. ####Sorrycompanyservicewarranties.
Hello Natoya,
We're sorry we were unable to service your item.
Squaretrade technicians perform a full hardware diagnostic on every product received for repair, as this helps us determine the best way to service your product. If we find damage during this diagnostic which exceeds your warranty coverage we will ship the item back to you unrepaired, this is what occurred in your instance.
We understand you felt there was a discrepancy with this determination and due to this one of our specialists reached out to discuss the situation. Based on our conversation we hope you are more satisfied with our company and we appreciate you taking the time to speak with us today.

I had a sound bar. We had it turned off and a storm came. And when we went to turn it back on, all we heard was “poof.” It kept doing that. We turn it back off and on, and there was nothing. All my electronics have a warranty. I filed a claim with SquareTrade and it was easy, fast and they understood exactly what happened. They gave me a refund and I bought a different kind. It has more power and it’s doing real good.

Terrible service! They are a scam! Sent my laptop in for repairs. First they approved my claim. Then they suddenly changed their mind and denied it. They said that the battery not charging properly or holding charge, screen losing color, and key not pressing is physical damage and not covered. Yet I never had any physical damage. Very bad and not logical replies, I even canceled all my other warranty plans I had with them! Avoid!!!
Hello Aous,
We apologize we were unable to service your item.
Your claim was initially approved for a mail-in repair, as the description of your item's failure corresponded with the coverage of your warranty. This warranty is a Standard plan which covers hardware and electrical failures due to normal use.
However, when this item was received by our repair center Squaretrade technicians determined there were several signs of physical damage to the product. This warranty does not include coverage for these types of issues and this is why your item was returned unrepaired. We have processed a full refund of your warranty price and again we apologize for your experience.

I have been in a constant struggle with getting my claim resolved. It all started when I broke the screen of my Pixel 2 XL. I then filed a claim online and paid and then was referred to a repair shop. I called the repair shop that the claim was for and they did not have the part available in stock. I was told by the repair shop that I would have to wait 3-5 business days for the part to be delivered. I did not like the idea of that because it was too close to the day that I was supposed to be going on vacation. So I then had to call into the claims department to get them to change the repair shop the claim was for.
So I called into the claims department at SquareTrade. I spoke to the agent and let him know that the previous repair shop did not have the part and if he could call other repair shops to make sure they had the part and would be able to fix my phone ASAP. The claims agent put me on hold and then changed the claims location on the original claim number. He assured me he had checked with the location and they indeed had the part. Well that is where this all goes downhill. So we process the change on the claim and then I get off the phone. I then have a feeling that I should call this repair shop before driving all the way there.
I call the repair shop and the technician there says he does not have the part available and again I will have to wait 3 to 5 business days for the part to arrive. I am immediately not too happy about this. I really think the claims agent lied to me because I asked the repair shop did they get a call from SquareTrade about part availability and the repair shop technician said they did not have it. So at this point I am really dissatisfied and disappointed and slightly irritated that they would lie to me that the location had the part available that day so that I would be able to get my phone fixed.
I then call back into SquareTrade claims department and let them know that the location they sent me to never ever had the part to repair my Google Pixel 2 XL. I had previously called all other repair shops in the area that might have the part and I finally found one that had the part to repair my phone. I ask the agent to change the location on the original claim and the agent is not able to do this. He must cancel the original claim and refund me my money and start a new claim.
I am almost sure this is not good practice. All I wanted him to do was to just change the repair shop on the claim. Apparently their system is weird and you have to cancel a claim and do another one in order to complete this. But I did not want them to cancel and refile the claim because that would put another hold on my card and being that it was a Friday that this was all going down. I really would not have that money refunded until Monday or Tuesday of the following week. This made me angry that I would have to do this.
I asked to speak to a supervisor. (The supervisor got frustrated with me.) The supervisor was also unable to just change the location and insisted on creating a new claim. I thought that this was weird and I was angry and frustrated to the point were I did not want to talk to the supervisor who was not very helpful and I felt was slightly rude. So I allowed them to charge my card again. Fast forward it's Saturday I get my phone fixed and everything is all good.
Then a few days later water gets on my phone. I then learn that the previous repair has rendered my once water resistant {Pixel 2 models can be fully submerged in water as deep as 1 meter for a period of up to 30 minutes.} is no longer resistant to water. I thought phone repairs would allow the phone to be restored to its original features. The waterproof/water resistant is really a feature of the phone and I am confused why no one told me that a phone would no longer be waterproof after a repair. So I call back into the claims department about this issue that the phone was never restored by to its original working order and that they would need to fix this.
After to talking to a claims agent and claims supervisor he came to the resolution that he would allow a new claim and waive the fee. As he was going to create a new claim he let me know that I had already used up all of my warranty for the year. I get very frustrated and let them know of my initial claims fiasco as if you are reading this will see above. I asked him had anyone notated anything in the system. I told him only got the phone fixed once and they had to do two claims previously because they couldn't just change the location of where I wanted the phone fixed. Now the claims supervisor is telling me he has to have the tech department handle this and would be back in touch with me in 24 hrs.
This is highly unacceptable and I decide to wait till the morning and call them back. When I called them back I was still frustrated and the supervisor that spoke to me also became very rude and frustrated as well with me. He also told me I would have to wait until the previous case manager called me back. I am still in an unresolved state and have been without a phone for a couple of days. Also no one has yet to call me back. I am not at all happy with this insurance company and they need to learn how to better handle issues and not take 24 hrs to fix an issue. I will continue to call them until they have resolved my issue and I have a working device in hand. If you are thinking about purchasing this insurance really take my experience as a valid option. Do not waste your money.

We have so many items with SquareTrade's protection plan on. We’ve filed a claim with them two or three times over the years and it has been super simple. They make it really easy. The one claim we had was for our VIZIO 65-inch TV. I talked to SquareTrade customer service and they said that it was a firmware problem from a recent software update from VIZIO. VIZIO was aware of it and was working on it. I gave it a couple of days and it resolved itself after 36 hours. So, there was no need to follow up. So far, it's always been a pleasant experience with SquareTrade. That’s why we keep adding stuff to our list.

SquareTrade made two attempts to repair the television, unsuccessfully. They were actually pretty good about that. However, after they ADMITTED that the television is defective beyond repair, they REFUSE to honor their own terms and conditions. SquareTrade insists on replacing the television with another model, even though they are not comparable. Under the law, because SquareTrade did not specify which remedy they will offer first, the consumer is permitted to choose.
However, no one can actually get reimbursement value for their product. Several managers have even state that this is SquareTrade's policy, even though this "policy" is notably absent from the warranty specifications. Under the terms the warranty, they have no right to refuse reimbursement value. This "policy" may be considered consumer fraud, and and I will be making a referral Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. To date, I have spent countless hours discussing this issue with them, only to get a constant run-around. My recommendation is to absolutely avoid buying a warranty from this company - it is worthless.
Hello Aaron,

Squaretrade offers repair, replacement and reimbursement resolutions. Which resolutions are available depend on the item category and the issue it is experiencing, as Squaretrade's first intention is to offer repair for all eligible products. Whenever we do so we base our replacement offer on the technical specifications of your original product.

I purchased a Vizio D58U-D3 at Sam's Club in 2016 and the SquareTrade protection plan was encouraged by the Sam's Club associate. I paid $99 for a 4 year protection plan. I opened a claim on February 8th 2019 and was told they couldn’t find my plan and requested a copy of my receipt which I sent them attached to an email. After many disconnected calls and premature closed chat sessions I finally called Sam's Club customer service on February 22nd. The representative called SquareTrade to get some answers while I was on the phone also. We were told again that they are trying to locate my protection plan and I would receive an email when they found it which would include a link allowing me to file a claim. I asked to speak to a manager who just repeated what I was already told.
I finally received the email on February 23rd. I used the link to file a claim in which I detailed the issue with the color problems on my TV. The TV is covered in blue tint and the audio is off. When I submitted the claim it immediately said that this was accidental damage that is not covered in my SquareTrade protection plan. There is nothing physically wrong with the screen or TV. I have since done research online and found this is a common issue with these TVs when the phosphor or yellow center on the backlight LEDs crumbles and falls off leaving you with a bluish purple tint to everything on the screen. This is not accidental damage. My TV has been connected on my wall with a TV mount and has not been moved since it was placed there. I am going to report SquareTrade to BBB as well as consumer protection agency. If I could give zero stars I would have.

After talking to about four other people, one guy told me that he would call back but he never called me back.
The next day, I called another guy and he really helped me out and he knew what he was talking about. I told him about the ring and he told me to send him a screenshot where it said, “Paid on eBay,” and he accepted that. He sent me another email which said to put the ring in a box and send it and he told me how to do all that. I sent it and it worked out well for me. Having a warranty is valuable because I would have had to pay somebody to put a new stone in it. Right now, I'm just waiting to get the ring back. It's on its way from the place that fixed it.

It took me three weeks to get somebody to actually help me. Everybody was doing a roundabout until I talked to somebody. I would suggest that if somebody doesn't have the receipt, SquareTrade should find another way to help them out. Also, let Walmart know that they have to keep the receipt. Nobody knew that. Nevertheless, the last person I talked to helped me solve the problem. I gave him the IEMI number and I could get a new phone.

I bought a FITBIT HR watch from Sam's Club and also purchase a 3 year protection plan through the Square Trade for $14.88. I submitted a claim since the wristband and battery protector part has got detached from its metal/plastic head portion of the clip of the watch on the side and back. After sending the watch I received an email stating that the item was not cover and to contact them to get a refund for the amount I paid for the plan. I called and spoke to Ross at customer service, and then with customer service manager Jeremy who stated that the plan did not cover water damages. I explained that the watch did not had any water damages since the mechanical part of the watch was working, however the rubber part of the watch had detached. Then, I was then told they could not cover physical damage due to the kind of plan that I purchased. He stated that the plan didn't cover the issue that I was having with my watch.
All of this was a huge waste of time! This company is not consistent. I was given different reasons and excuses as of why they were not able to honor the warranty. This is not the first time that I have issues trying to use a warranty with SquareTrade. I will never purchase any warranty plans from this company again. I looks like they always have an excuse to not honor the warranty they sell. They take money from people saying that they're going to replace or fix items and they do not do it. Do yourself a favor and do not purchase warranties through them!

I bought a TV at Costco and they suggested that I get a SquareTrade warranty on it. It was two and a half years old, and all of a sudden, one-quarter of the screen started going dark. I called SquareTrade to file a claim. I went through a voice menu which was very confusing. Especially when I had a recall, they would say, “To do an existing claim,” and then I’d hit that and then they would go through this whole thing and give me this list of stuff I didn’t want. Then they'd ask what kind of appliance it was and when I did that, it was just like a voicemail jail. And the last one, instead of just “Stay on the line and get a representative,” it was “Go back to the main menu,” so I had to go through it again. But once I got to talk to people, they were all very nice.
I explained everything to them and then they switched me to the TV department when I was saying it was TV and what the problem was. And then I had to explain everything over again. They didn’t transfer all that knowledge somehow and so they could do better at that. Then they did a lot of diagnostics over the telephone which was fine but I didn’t realize how involved I was gonna be at that time. I’m almost 80 but I’m actually pretty tech savvy for my age. They asked for the serial number, and the serial number is on the back of the TV and it is so tiny. I had to get my glasses and a flashlight in order to get it. I had to move the TV but I have a stand that has sliders so that wasn’t too bad.
I had unplugged everything and then later on, replugged it in. I had four things to unplug in the back of the set, and there were about nine different plugs. I managed to get them all in the same place where they were. Then SquareTrade said that the TV couldn't be repaired and they would send me a new one but they wanted three pictures taken of the screen under certain circumstances and email those pictures to them. I got my grandson to do that and SquareTrade got back to me within a day saying they would do it immediately.
We ordered another TV and SquareTrade said that it would be delivered on such date and that I would hear from Best Buy. They gave me choices between the three and I picked one and they verified that in the email that it would be coming on the 16th. On the 14th, somebody from Best Buy called me and left a message. I called the lady back and she verified the TV that I had chosen, as well as it would be delivered on the 16th, between seven and one. I asked her if they would really come at 7 AM as I don’t really wanna get up that early. She said they would call me the next day and give me a smaller window. They called and said they were gonna be here between 10:30 and 12:30 on Saturday, the 16th.
I made arrangements for my grandson to be here to put it together once they came and set it up. I stayed home the entire time, didn’t go any place. By 1:15, I thought it was kinda goofy so I called Best Buy and got somebody on Geek Squad. He looked at all kinds of screens and then he said that the TV was not available anymore. When they went to load the truck on Friday night, and I had gotten a call at 7 that they weren’t gonna be here the next day so sometime after that, they found out that they didn’t even have that set. He asked if anyone called me and I said no one. It took them two weeks to figure out they didn’t have that one, and he said this was from Best Buy, that he couldn’t do anything about it. I have to deal with SquareTrade again.
I started all over. I called SquareTrade on a Saturday and got someone. He told me that the TV guys weren’t there and so he couldn't do a lot that da but he'd put me on high priority for Monday morning. They contacted me on Monday morning and I explained what happened. They redid it and said that they would take care of it. On Tuesday, they said that they couldn't find the TV we picked out originally but they got such and such a one and asked me if I could authorize that, which I did, and then I got a confirmation on that. They would be getting this TV from Costco. It was more reliable ‘cause that was where I bought it to begin with, so that’s where it is now.
I wrote a letter back to SquareTrade saying I was upset about what happened. I told them to tell Best Buy that computers today do a very good job with inventory control. As soon as SquareTrade said I picked this TV, that should have gone into Best Buy's inventory control. If they had one, it would go out of inventory, or it would come back in a day or two saying that they don’t have it, but nothing at all. This woman from Best Buy that I talked to that verified with me should have at least got two days to figure out if they have one. If they would have known anytime in those two weeks, they could have let SquareTrade know and I could have picked out a new one a week ago. But overall, I'm satisfied with SquareTrade.

Situation resolved with full reimbursement.
Original Review: Feb. 14, 2019
Purchased an item from Amazon along with a SquareTrade warranty. Twenty-two months later the item failed and I placed a claim. They sent me an settlement email for 80% of the purchase price. I went to the website to see the reason for not paying the purchase price and found a copy of the contract which had no mention of any depreciation or withholding. I tried calling but they make it impossible to find contact information. Finally found a number on this site. After the world's longest automated phone system talked with a person. Told that it wasn't called depreciation but it amount to the same thing and the discount is automatically applied by their system. If this was disclosed at the time of purchase I may not have bought the warranty and would not have counted on it. It is a type of bait and switch as they promise or elude to coverage and then intentionally don't provide it.

I had bought a Mercedes S63 Ride on for kids from Amazon in July 2018 and taken a two year warranty from SquareTrade for accidental damage. The car was sold by Big Toys Direct. A few days ago the remote of the car stopped functioning after the child happened to drop it. Since this was covered under the terms of the warranty I raised a warranty claim with them which was approved. So far so good. They asked me to take the remote for repair to a shop in my area which I promptly did and took the toy manual also along. The shop said they had no expertise in repairing toys and they dealt mostly in mobile phones and accessories (incidentally the shop was next to an AT&T outlet!).
I called the call centre to report this and that's when the ignorance of SquareTrade really started showing up: The call centre wanted me to get some documentation completed form the shop. Really? I asked? The claim is approved. Why do I need more documentation? "Okay. Could you contact the manufacturer and come back to us on what he says?" I said, "Fine. Can you give me their number?" "Yes" and the agent started reading the number **... I said, "Hold on. Where is this call centre?" Only a person totally unfamiliar with US numbering would speak a number like that rather than **- etc etc. "Oh we are located in Karachi." I said, "Ok. Do you have an email for the manufacturer?" The email given was **. This was another howler since Big Toys is a totally different company from Big Toys Direct!!
The upshot of all this was that SquareTrade had insured a product for which they had charged me but knew next to nothing on how to go about honoring it. It seems that they take a gamble on the reliability of the product itself and the usual care that an average customer takes of his product. So other people's conduct covers them most of the time. I have two more products that are under warranty from SquareTrade but after this experience I am not going to take out any extended warranty with them. In the end I contacted Big Toys Direct directly, they listened to me and mailed me a remote completely free of charge although the warranty had run out in Jan and accidental damage was not covered. This is what I would call service.

SquareTrade's protection plan had good pricing. I purchased it through the store where I bought my cellphone. They said that the protection plan covers everything which is good. Once, I dropped my phone, it cracked, which was no big deal. But when it was raining, I dropped my phone again and it went on a puddle. When that happened, water went inside of the phone. The phone wouldn't charge and wouldn't do anything because it got wet.
Filing a claim with SquareTrade was simple and easy. They sent me the money back that I paid for the phone because there was no way of fixing it or refurbishing it. That was cool and I was surprised. I didn't even have to speak to anybody. It was all just email. They gave me a set of instructions, and then I printed out the FedEx thing. We happen to have a FedEx box, so we put the phone in there and sent it in. On Valentine's Day, SquareTrade got the phone. They let me know with emails, where it was at and that I could track it. The experience of working with SquareTrade was simple and I appreciated that. The warranty was well worth paying for.

I have been using SquareTrade for years but this is the last time I will choose their services over my carrier protection plan. I first called SquareTrade in December of 2018 to report my broken phone and was told to e-mail them my receipt because it was fuzzy on their end, and they would call me back. I never received a callback. I called again 2 weeks later and was helped, but they were out of stock on my phone so they said to call back again in a week. I waited 2 more weeks until January 21 2019, still no stock.
The third time I called was February 7th and they said that since I have called several times they will buy a BRAND NEW phone and send it to me. I thought wow what a great company. BOY WAS I WRONG. The associate misspoke and I did not receive a brand new phone. Now I am okay with a refurbished phone, I just thought they were going above and beyond. Well, this refurbished phone WAS A COUNTERFEIT PHONE! I knew something was wrong when the LED indicator wasn't the same as my old phone. I call them and they told me that they sent me a defective phone, and they said they can't replace cosmetic defects, but they refunded my deductible because I was told I was getting a brand new phone when I shouldn't have been told that.
So I start using the phone and quickly realize THE ENTIRE THING IS PLASTIC. The fancy OLED screen and glass back that were on my Samsung Galaxy S9+ were replaced with cheap plastic materials. This goes against their terms of service which states replacements will be of equal quality and functionality. So I call them and demand a manager. The manager, Thomas, took my yelling very poorly. He yelled back and argued and tried to talk over me. This is terrible customer service. I asked to have the final resolution of being paid out, and he insisted they send another phone. I would rather use my broken phone than deal with this company any longer. But I am being forced to put up with more faulty replacements. They will not pay me out, even though it is THEM who broke terms of service and sent a counterfeit phone as a replacement. Once this plan is up I will never use their services again, and I recommend you don't either.

I bought two printers from Staples, both HP models. I also purchase a 2-year protection plan through the SquareTrade. The reason for the purchase was that I would get a quicker response and can replace the printer instead of going through the manufacturer warranty. According to the Staples' employee, I was covered for the next two years by the SquareTrade to replace. In theory, the employee also said that I can purchase a new printer at $14.99. The employee was very specific and said that I can go through the manufacturer if I want, but it is faster and better to go through the SquareTrade.
But I just found out today that the SquareTrade benefit applies only after the manufacturer's warranty runs out in a year. Therefore, I have to first make the claim through the manufacturer first. If the manufacturer declines, I have to show proof of the decline and then the SquareTrade will replace. In theory, this means that the SquareTrade only covers 1 year, not 2 years as I was told. It also means that during the first year, I have NO option, but to handle the matter with the manufacturer with any issue.
Another false statement from the SquareTrade and the Staples is that it is not a warranty plan, but the protection plan they are purchasing. Most people believe that the plan covers the product from the time of purchase. In reality, it only covers from the time when the manufacturer's warranty runs out. But that time, most people do not have the receipt to prove that there was a plan purchased or that they even forget they purchased it at all. Do not purchase any protection plan.
Why does anyone purchase a protection plan? It is because most people do not want to deal with the manufacturer. SquareTrade capitalizes on this fact and rips people off. I purchased two protection plan. I cannot even get the reimbursement on the second purchase because it has not been 30 days. This is also wrong as well. Unless the protection plan is from the manufacturer, do not purchase another plan through SquareTrade.

I got SquareTrade protection for an Apple iPhone 8 purchased at Costco. The deal seemed much more equitable. The deductible was more reasonable, and it protected against more risks of failure than the program offered by Verizon. The phone had a problem where it was dropped. It caused the home button to go haywire and lose control of the screen. The SquareTrade agent gave us a fix over the phone for a temporary resolution of getting the home button on the screen as opposed to using it on the mechanical portion of the phone, to use it more like an app. That resolution as well as the remedy we saw online, that maybe if you clean the home button with an alcohol swab, worked. So consequently, our claim was never submitted. The rep was awesome and SquareTrade has a great program. I would highly recommend it for those that are looking to make sure that they are garnering their investment with some reasonable risk at a fair price.

I continue to use your service with my new FireStick. Hopefully it lasts more than 10 months. Thank you, Hazel for resolving the issue.

I filed a claim for my iPhone 8 Plus. There is absolutely ZERO communication as to what was actually wrong with the device. Once I received the device, it was incredibly packed in bubble wrap and a cheap FedEx box. Not surprisingly, when I tried to use the phone the screen was replaced, but when you pressed on one part of the screen several other parts of the screen activated. After getting the runaround with the chat person online, I was then directed to call an 800#. After getting connected to a person overseas that could barely hold a coherent thought (and a 20-minute hold prior to that) I was then informed...wait for it (drum roll) that the department that took care of that was closed and I would have to call back tomorrow. Don't believe the hype. The screen I paid a $149 deductible for can be fixed locally for $100 - and at a far better service level. Will update this to see if they actually live up to their contract.

I contacted SquareTrade. Told them my problem, they were courteous and efficient. I chose a Walmart gift card as a replacement and the day I shipped the package back I had my gift card. The experience was simple and I was completely satisfied.

Smooth transaction. Only disappointed that refund didn't include taxes. Excellent turn around time for refund of my purchase. I would always recommend getting insurance on any device or devices that you may purchase. Thank you for the speedy reimbursement on the item that we purchased. It made it simple to purchase another device.

I got a SquareTrade protection plan for the Dell XPS 13 laptop that I bought. Costco recommended it to me. When I filed a claim to SquareTrade, I talked to Malcolm and he was great. He helped me out and he got me everything I needed. He filed my claim for me, it was wonderful.

Bought their insurance on 5 phones over 2 years ago. Never had a claim until now. Allstate Company is the WORST when it comes to claim. They promised to review my claim with instructions on how to proceed within 48 hours. Well 5 days later and at least 10 phone calls and 4-6 hours on the phone, NOTHING. Just excuse after excuse on why my claim has not been approved while my Senior in College has no iPhone. *Do yourself a favor and purchase the Apple Care on any phone you buy from Apple. They know customer service and how to treat good and loyal customers! I will NEVER use SquareTrade again!!!

First off, I have loved SquareTrade and have used them many times before to ensure my valuables. About 6 months ago I sent in my laptop in for repairs for the second time. It came back to me and appeared to have been "Fixed." However, recently the problem started again (now mind you I had not dropped, stepped on, or spilled anything on my laptop since last sending it in for quote "fixing" the problem). My warranty is good until 4/9/19. Bought it 4/9/17. When I contacted them to resolve this, this woman helping me went around and around with me saying that my plan was indeed still good and that I was looking at it wrong etc.
After about a half an hour of this she refreshed her page and then said, "Oh, Yes your plan is finished. I'm sorry." I asked her why. She said they already used the max coverage amount to quote "fix" my laptop previously and that there is no more coverage money in my plan left. I am a bit distraught because the same issue that was supposed to have been "fixed" is happening again through no fault of my own, and they said they can't do anything about it. So now I am left with a laptop that needs repairs and no way to repair it.

I bought a phone off eBay in Oct 2018 (New - Other) and added a SquareTrade protection plan. This was the only warranty offered. I later got an email with a link for my plan. Fast forward mid Jan the phone an LG V20 stopped working. I opened a claim with SquareTrade and the waiting game started. I called maybe three to four times and every time I would be requested to submit a receipt in a different format.
Finally I decided to send the phone to LG for diagnostic and maybe repair a $20 service. The phone was returned as un-repairable and cited physical damage that consistent with water damage - The LG reps could not truly identify the cause and on a phone conversation expressed that it could be due to humidity. When I told the SquareTrade reps about the finding he in a very nonchalant way went ahead and gave me a lecture of how should have read the terms of the warranty before purchase. The link to the warranty I received mentions humidity as one of the covered options but they insisted that I purchased a basic warranty which does not cover such damage.
Their advertised warranty that was the basis of my decision to buy mentioned something totally different but he would have none of it and went ahead and cancelled my warranty and refunded the money thereby cancelling my warranty - keep in mind this is after I have filed a claim. I have wasted a lot of time sending emails and no one even responds unless you call. My advise don't get the cell phone plan - not worth the headache. I hope someone starts a class action lawsuit for false advertisement soon.
Hello Rose,
We apologize we were unable to approve your recent claim.
Squaretrade does our best to help all of our customers but we can only approve claims which correspond with the coverage for your device. In this instance there were initial delays with your claim due to difficulty with the receipt, once this was provided it was determined there was liquid damage to the phone.
This type of damage would be considered physical and not covered beneath the standard warranty for this device. Due to this we cancelled the plan for a full refund, though we understand there is a discrepancy regarding how your plan was advertised.
One of our specialists reached out to you to further discuss the situation, including a possible resolution. We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and hope we have resolved this concern.

I bought a three-year SquareTrade deal for a 55-inch TCL Roku TV. It was the only one offered. My TV blew up. It went black and had no sound. I filed a claim which was easy to do. Then SquareTrade got back to me with an offer of a TV that I didn’t think was comparable to the TV that had broken. The offer was a Sharp, which I didn't think anyone was still selling. They should offer comparable TVs with at least, the same size. I said that I wanted something that is at least 55 inches and I also wanted certain things. They said that they would send me a check. The first guy I worked with was a TV technician and he was good. I had a little difficulty understanding him because English is his second language. It was hard to follow his instructions, but he finally figured out what he wanted to know and he decided the TV was junked. Don't buy SquareTrade.
Hello Priscilla,
We apologize for any difficulty you've experienced with your TV claim.
Squaretrade does our best to provide customers a comparable replacement which is as good or better than your original product. We base these offers on the technical specifications of your original unit and not reviews or brand, as we consider these factors to be variable or subjective. If you find our offer is not comparable we several policies in place to have those concerns addressed, as were utilized in this instance.
When you informed our TV team of your concerns with the replacement offer we migrated your resolution to a reimbursement of the item price. We again apologize if you were not satisfied with this process but we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

They do not provide any customer service, I had to call them 3 months after I filed my claim. NO ONE CALLED OR EMAILED ME. I call and talked to "Samantha" who tells me that my claim was invalid! My warranty purchase isn't the right package for a printer that cost me $484.86. Yet I purchased a Printer Protection 4 yr. $200.00 and above item price. What a lying bunch of thieves this company is. She asked me if I willing to accept only $200 for a $485 printer. I said no! The Warranty states: "If they can't repair your item, we'll reimburse you its replacement cost up to the coverage amount." Then after arguing with Samantha that my warranty is for $200.00 and Above Item price. She said she would have to get approval for my replacement refund, because she called Staples to confirm that the Warranty, I purchased did cover the cost of my $484.86 printer. Then she said she would call me back.
I did hear back from her, so I had to call back 2 more times the 2nd time I called asked for her extension number. Which I never did get. But I was referred to a Manager "Jessabelle" who assured me I wasn't being Ignored AND she would be sure to take care of my claim. RIGHT! She said she would call me back the next day. THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN!
7 days later she finally calls me back and said they would be sending me $200.00. I said NO that not my replacement purchase price. So, she said they never got the printer back, I told her she could have it. "Send me the FREE shipping label and I will be happy to send it to you." And she said they will be getting me replacement USED/RECONDITIONED PRINTER within 10 days, again Really! Today is Feb 6, 2019. We are now going on 4 months and nothing has been resolved. Nothing they say is true, the brochure makes you think you are getting a great deal for your money. You are throwing your $$$ away on this warranty. Shame on you Allstate for supporting a horrible company.
Hello Rhea,
We're sorry for any difficulty you've experienced with your claim.
Most Squaretrade warranties cover your item up to the purchasing price of the device, though this may vary slightly dependent on where and how your policy was purchased. I have no idea why everyone is using USPS when they know how bad they are. I still haven't received my replacement phone and I was supposed to receive it Jan. 23rd and it was supposed to be new. The post office said it tried to delivery the phone on several different dates but they neglected to tell you because of the weather they were closed several days and so was my building office where they should have dropped the phone off. I was in the hospital and I know that it was -40 below 0. They did not come here. What am I going to use for a phone now. Can you refund me my money and I will get a new one. Please respond. My grandson birthday is 2-14-2019. Do you think I will have a phone by then so I can call him in California? He will be 5! He doesn't understand that grandma has no phone thanks to you sending it by USPS.

SquareTrade warranty was offered at Walmart where I purchased my electrical heater. The plug started to melt and smell so I took it back to Walmart and they told me to call SquareTrade since I got that. I contacted them online but they said that I needed to contact the manufacturer because it was still under manufacturer's warranty so they closed the claim. I also got a loveseat through Walmart and within a week, the cushion we sat on started to break down. I have a warranty through SquareTrade and again, when I called them, they said that I needed to go through the manufacturer, which they sent me another one. It has been about two weeks and it started to do the same thing. The manufacturer told me that they'd only replace the item once and then I'd need to go through my warranty. So, I might be contacting SquareTrade again. I'm very unhappy with this piece of furniture but I'm very satisfied with SquareTrade.

My two-year-old Samsung 4K UHD TV starting blacking out and losing sound every few seconds, then come back on and then black out and lose sound again. A Comcast tech. spent two hours checking out everything he could and was not able to find a Comcast related fault that would cause this. I then called SquareTrade and after a week and a half and spending several hours on the phone with four different "TV Specialists" I was informed today that the problem must be the cable provider.
As I explained to the four "specialists" I have three other TVs in the house, all hooked to Comcast and no problems with any of them. In fact, I have one of the three connected to the same box my largest and main TV has been connected to and also no problems. I will never purchase any product from SquareTrade in the future and will also be filing a complaint with the appropriate consumer protection agency in Delaware regarding SquareTrade.
Hello Robert,
We apologize for any difficulty you've experienced with this TV claim.
Squaretrade TV specialists are extensively trained to troubleshoot issues, a policy we have in place for several reasons. Primarily, troubleshooting allows Squaretrade to determine if a claim is necessary and to confirm the most appropriate resolution to your item's failure.
In this instance Squaretrade specialists and technicians observed symptoms of the item's failure which indicated your cable box was potentially at fault. When you informed us that was not the case our specialists requested you follow some additional steps so we can determine the best way to proceed. At this time we're still waiting to hear back, but please let us know when these steps have been completed so we can further assist.
