    Submitting the claim for a watch was really easy. I just answered a couple of questions and they got back to me. They told me that the check would be in the mail and to check within a few days. I got what I paid for the watch, but not the warranty. For example, the watch was 8.49 and I got a check for 8.49. I’ve bought a warranty for different products. And the last one I got was on a watch from eBay. I like the idea that if the item is not working, you have coverage on it, especially when you’re buying from eBay where you really don't know what you're buying. I was so glad about SquareTrade.     I purchased a laptop protection plan for a used laptop bought on eBay, with the plan costing about 1/4 of the laptop price. About 2 months later, the laptop had a mechanical problem such that it will only start while the charger is plugged in, and it immediately turns off when unplugged. After I checked that the manufacturer's warranty was no longer in effect, and confirming this with SquareTrade, per the terms of my coverage, SquareTrade had a technician confirm the problem with me over the phone.

    Then SquareTrade attempted to find a replacement for the laptop with a similar one, which it decided was not feasible soon enough, so I was sent a check to reimburse me for the cost of the laptop so I could purchase another one. This was not my first time buying a protection plan from SquareTrade, but it was my first time filing a warranty claim for a covered product and I was happy to obtain a fast, satisfying solution and find that buying the protection plan was worth it.

    I filed a complaint to have my printer repaired and had it done at an approved shop of yours. I am very disappointed in getting the info to you so I can get reimbursed. I spent about 45 minutes with your agent trying to attach it to your claim form to submit and it never worked. I asked for your fax number and faxed it twice and was told they couldn't see the receipt. I send faxes all the time and nobody else has had a problem. I feel you have to be computer literate to deal with your company. I sent the info by mail so I can get reimbursed. I hope this is the last time I have to deal with SquareTrade.

While we do recommend uploading a digital photo of the invoice and sending it via email as the most convenient option, we also accept faxed versions and physical copies as an alternative.     I purchased an extended warranty for a laptop. Both times I sent it in for repairs, it took multiple phone calls and several weeks for SquareTrade to process my claims. Took 3 weeks just to send the box for the second claim, and when the computer was finally returned to me it was not functional. Because I assumed they had fixed the problem (silly me?) and had some personal business in the way, the computer stayed in the shipping box quite a while before I found this out; the warranty expired in the meantime and SquareTrade refused to do anything about it, leaving me with a broken computer they'd failed to fix while it was under warranty. I can understand that I left it in the box quite a while, but in light of how long they had taken in the past due to repairs, and that the computer had no reason not to work when I got around to trying it. Your typical heartless 'insurance' company.

    Got another TV.

    Bought a TV at Sams Club and as usual, a SquareTrade warranty. I figured with TV’s being so ‘computerized,’ it's a necessity.. and why not? A 10% cost for another TV if it breaks... never had to use one before, fist time and holy moly, what a nightmare. The short version (spent over 3 hrs on the phone (on hold, being trf’d, on hold etc and a vacation day). First.. warranty says 5 days in home repair. Day 14, repairman scheduled to show up between 10 and 2 (I took a day off work; not happy with 14 days when I was told 5, but hey, they are on the way to fix). Shows up and can't repair (there was a “blue LED” issue also, thank you repair man from ACS!!) so they chose to not repair at all, OK; I understand, and then was told I may have to ship it (A 65” TV?).

    Called Squaretrade... answer was; "We will have a TV specialist contact you within 2 days by email;" no explanation or answer on the shipping question. Just a diversion to amuse me I guess. Got an email with a link to my new Hisense $399 TV to replace my $999 TV. Another call to SquareTrade.. was told “keep clicking the link in the email, it updates daily, so you can keep checking every day and when a TV comes up you like select it”; Whaaaaaaaat!?!? Supervisor time. Got supervisor.. explained my concern, told him I wish to select my TV as I buy them based on features etc... “So sorry, I will send you a list with comparable TV’s." Who know when or what I will get. Bottom line... Not a good first experience. Will never buy a warranty again unless it states “same exact TV or purchase price.” \Wonder if my iphone dies if I will get offered a flip phone?!?

    We have so many items that we have purchased with SquareTrade. Our most recent claim was with the washer. They couldn't resolve the issue because they didn't hear what I was telling them that was happening with my washer. They told me that I had to record it because the machine that they run it on wasn't telling them that it had a problem. So, I couldn't get it fixed. But the customer service was good.

    Alright so, my Rockford Fosgate 600 watt P3 12in loaded enclosure, (subwoofer) had begun sounding very distorted. I then went on to dismount the 12 inch speaker from its box and found that the adhering from the cone to the spider had became dislodged and therefore creating the distortion. So the speaker worked just fine but was releasing distortion as well due to this factor. So I then filed a claim on the insurance I had purchased through Amazon from a company called SquareTrade.

    About a week later I have an e-mail sent to me stating that “Your item was received and has failed the audit inspection for the following reasons”- “Speaker shows signs of being over driven by extreme outside wattage. The speaker cone/coil is stuck in a locked state, which happens when it’s blown”. First off, how in the world is it in a locked state, when the driver has and still is fully functional and not even slightly stuck? Furthermore how has this speaker being driven by "extreme outside wattage" when I'm running the speaker with the same amp as the factory itself suggests (Rockford Fosgate p500x1bd Punch 500 watt class bd mono amplifier, at 35%)? And this was purchased at the same date from Amazon.

    Now think about this. A 600 watt speaker being over driven by a 500 watt amp being used at 35%... So I give them a call and they say their audit is high experienced and know what they’re doing. Again..?? At the end they state I might, be able to get the amount of the initial warranty. I can’t believe that they really push people to the side with false information like this. I read reviews of this nature about this company from other people and know I’m not alone. I was reading this morning that a lot of people are actually having to through law suits with this company over foul practices. I just want my Speaker or equivalent reimbursement.

    When a device arrives at our repair facilities, the item is initially audited to determine the cause of damage and if an item can be repaired. If the repair facility determines the item's issue is a result of physical damage, and the customer does not have accidental damage from handling the protection, the device will be returned.

    I purchased a Mandolin on Dec 18, 2019 and paid $ 59.98 and also paid for a warranty with Square Trade to cover my purchase. About 1 month after purchase the Mandolin caved in while attempting to tune it. The coverage was to start on 1/17/2020 about 3 weeks or more after the purchase. I attempted to return it but the seller says I should have made a return within 2 weeks and I needed to contact Square Trade about the warranty. I contacted Square Trade and was told that even though my policy was in force I should make claim against the Mfg. Why should I have to make claim with the Mfg, whom I have no idea who the Mfg is as this item came to me from China. I paid for a warranty for two years starting 1/17/2020 but Square Trade says I would need to contact the Mfg about the problem within the 1st year.

    I paid for warranty coverage to start on 1/17/2022 so my first year that I paid for is not covered under the warranty I purchased until after the 1st year. This is a complete rip off. If I was told the warranty would not start until after the 1st year I would not have purchased the warranty and then have to wait a year to make any claims. This is BS. I paid for warranty starting 2 weeks after purchase and should be covered. I paid for nothing the first year. The warranty says it is a 2 year warranty but this not what Square Trade tells you when you buy. Based on Square Trade claim dept I am not covered the 1st year as my warranty date shows. If this is the case I paid for 2 years and only get the benefit for the second year. Do not purchase a Square Trade warranty unless you don't mind not being covered for the first year you paid for. They will tell you to complain to the Mfg.

It takes repeatedly doing the same steps over and over .... I have still not had my computer looked at after 3 days of attempts at sending. First airbill, Fed Ex sent back to me, Second they will not issue ...Find another company. Only company worse than this one is AIG.

    I just had to worst experience with them. I have a order of 3 air beds. 2 stopped working after a few days when I had some house guests over. I got those switched out no issues at all. I was sent the gift cards and went and purchased 2 more. My last one I have a friend with a broken leg who woke up on the floor and and ended up messing all over herself because she couldn’t get up. I just wanted to get another one like I did the same way last time but the only this I kept getting told by everyone is to contact the manufacturer like the manufacturer is going to have me walk out the store with an air mattress. I talked with 4 different people and I was given no help but I sent an email to call the manufacturer which is no help too right now.

    Purchased SquareTrade’s 3 year extended warranty plan for an iWatch, which was to cover electrical and mechanical failures. The glass face of the iwatch began to separate from the watch itself. So we put in a claim with SquareTrade, took all the necessary steps. Found out they were not only not going to replace the screen/watch, but they were dropping the coverage as well. SquareTrade tried to claim it was “physical” damage and not “mechanical” damage. Mind you this watch was only owned for less than a month before the problems occurred and never had physical damage occur to it. I don’t understand how someone can buy this plan to protect their investment, if the company is going to drop your coverage for filing a claim. I would definitely consider twice before giving this “insurance” company your business. BBB has been informed of their deceptive practices.

    So my 250$ bose earbuds were literally ripped in two while I was running, so I have an insurance that is supposed to cover everything. Talked to their CSR through the phone like three times, told them what happened and said I tried to put a tiny glue in it together thinking I can fix it to hold it together temporarily while I send it. He said it was ok as long as I didnt try to send it anywhere to get it fixed. I tried to send it and filed a claim. Asked for an update after 7 days and they told me they cant repair it because I glued it together. Please tell your customers the instances claims cannot be made before asking the to send the item. Second, I talked with one of your specialist and he said it was fine since my insurance covers everything. It's just sad because I know SquareTrade is one of the best, expecting the best but I got the worse. Lesson read the fine print or get a better insurance company.

    I have a JL Audio 13w7AE that I purchased from Amazon & bought their 4 year warranty because I figured it would be a good safety thing just in case anything was to happen to it. I put in for repairs a few times and every time I would put in for the repair they would send me the return packet. It would show the shipping label but when I would go to print it shipping label would disappear & I would forget to contact them back, finally got that straightened out & sent them my subwoofer for repair & figured it would need to be replaced or paid out because JL audio is very protective of parts so I didn't think they would be able to repair for lack of parts. So now it had been about two weeks since I sent it in I check my old email because that was my email when I purchased my warranty & it says they are refusing to cover due to "physical internal damage" from being over the watt rating which is impossible.

    I had it professionally installed with a amplifier that is 300 watts under the rms power rating. It just one day blew from a few years of use so they refused to replace due to using the item as it is intended. The person I spoke to on the chats tried to lie & tell me it was due to water damage, I said there was no mention of that in the email. He kept telling me it was due to water damage. 15 mins later I get an email stating he was mistaken. It had no water.

    After I requested pictures he assured me that they had proving it was the issue. I emailed back saying to, "As I stated in my chat you were lying"...no answer. I call in today & they are sticking to the same script saying it was overdriven, so they don't cover that. Which is funny since they say they cover mechanical & electrical problems. I would just like them to do the right thing & cover the subwoofer. Whether you want to replace or compensate me thank you. For all the consumers beware. Save your money. They won't cover your issues. They will just try to make you go away.

With SquareTrade and went through 2 week process to ship them Tv to repair. 8 days later received T.v. back saying roach infected and warranty is void. Opened tv and checked shipping box and found no sign of insect. Called square trade and was told they had pictures of insect infestation so I requested the pictures. 2 days later was told there were no pictures and unit was immediately ship back up and shipped back to me. If true why did I not find anything inside tv or shipping box. Where did the roaches go and where are pictures they claimed they had. No proof of their claim of infestation. Just bull to not to honor a warranty. To add insult to injury they cancelled 5 year warranty in year 3 without compensation for last year's. Never buy this company's warranty on anything. They lie about your claim denial without any proof of their reason.

    I called SquareTrade. I was in need of screen replacement which they approved. They gave me a repair shop called Irepair. I couldn't ever reach them. I called square trade they said take it to dealer of my choice so I called Batteries Plus. They gave me a price of 246.00. I then called back to square trade. Gave them the price quote of 246.00. I was told that I could take it to them. Pay for the repair then sent me instructions to be reimburse minus 29.00 deductible. I thought that it was a little pricey but again they assured me that I would be reimbursed total amount minus 29.00.

    So after repair I called because the receipt was not itemized that I was uploading so I returned to batteries plus. Explain situation. They called square trade. After the employee spoke with them he handed the phone to me and the person said that they could only give me 199.00 because that's what the phone was worth. How is that's my fault when I was told by square trade at least twice after knowing the price of repair 246.00 and was assured of being reimbursed. Now they only sent me a check for 170.00 so I am out of 76.00 when I was only suppose to be out of 29.00. Not fair at all. Not my fault. Your mistake has cost me money.

    I dropped my HP Envy laptop about 16 months into my two year warranty. It caused damage to the metal around the screen at the top corner and caused the bottom corner to dent and come apart at the seams. SquareTrade approved a repair and I shipped it to them. This is my laptop I use for work, literally my livelihood. I was without it for a week. Luckily one of my friends let me borrow one of theirs while mine was being repaired. I received the “repaired” laptop today and the repair is a joke. They did not replace anything. It looks like maybe they squeezed some pliers to try to close the seam opening but did a very poor job. There is still a significant opening at the seam. It is still dented at the top and bottom. I am very disappointed in this repair.

    Purchased an iPhone 7 and a 2 Year Square trade warranty in August 2018. The phone stopped working. Called Square Trade they told us where to take it. Spent the whole day driving out to one repair shop then to a second. The second repair shop said they could fix it but square trade said it was too expensive and they want us to mail it to them. We did. Less than six months later the phone stopped working again. Once again we were asked to mail it in and another was sent. It wasn’t six months later the phone stopped working. Today we called. They said they are not going to repair it because the contract is up. By my calculations two years ends in August 2020.

    After speaking to five different people during two separate phone calls, Their decision is the phone had cost too much to repair in the past and those charges cannot exceed the original purchase of the phone. I am not sure who decides how much the phone cost to repair. But we were told 3 different stories. First they weren’t going to cover it because there had been four claims on it. That was not true. There were two.

    Then we were told that there had been two charges to repair it, one for $39 and the other 198. That is a total of $237. Original purchase was 358. Hence phone call number two. At which time I was told that the amount quoted originally was wrong and the total repair cost had been $420.71. They now say the two-year warranty is really a limited warranty. He quoted a line in article 7 of the contract which you don’t get when you buy it. This probably is in the small print somewhere but it is advertised as a two-year warranty. I was very happy when they fixed the first phone. I was a little concerned when they had to replace that phone less than six months later and today I am outraged that the phone they replaced it does not work and they will not stand behind their warranty. I wish I had read a review like this before purchasing this warranty.

    I purchased the warranty with my TV 11 months ago. The TV stopped working so I went to my file cabinet and pulled out the receipt with the warranty brochure I was given at the store. I filed a claim and was told I would have to deal with the store. Of course the store sent me back to deal with SquareTrade total runaround as usual. The company must train their employees to frustrate consumers long enough that they just give up.

    Square Trade is the worst. Do not buy a warranty through them. They will not honor your tv warranty. I bought a Samsung smart tv through Costco and the video doesn’t keep playing. After a couple of minutes the video goes black. Called to get the warranty company to fix it. They wanted to give me a streaming device for a SMART TV. Why would I need a streaming device for a $1000 tv? The work around they said. Do not go through square trade.

    I got a three years protection plan from SquareTrade for a 55-inch ION television. It was for my son and I got it Black Friday. I took it out of the box to hide it and right before Christmas, I hooked it up just to surprise him on Christmas. When I plugged it in, everything worked, but I had to select the options at the beginning such as the network and the language. All it was doing was just scrolling through and it wasn’t allowing me to select anything. I tried to take it back to the store, but they wouldn’t allow me simply because I didn’t have the box, so I had to file the claim. Their claims process wasn’t that good because the facility to get it repaired is an hour and 30 minutes away .

    Their customer service kept asking the questions over and over if I damaged or dropped it. That was why I did the videos and I provided a lot of pictures, and it was obvious that there was something wrong with it. I said, “It still had the paper on it. I just threw away the box so my son won’t see it." And then, they asked me why I did not plug in the TV after I took it out the box. I said, “It was something that I didn’t think. Moving forward, I know to keep the box, but I just assumed everything would have been fine because it was under 30 days." It was a brand-new TV and I could have taken it back to the store, but I went on the 29th day, and the store couldn’t take it back because they didn't have that television in the store and I didn’t have the box. I took a picture of the serial code on the box, but they needed the box. I showed them all the proof that I have. The only thing I was left with was to take it to the company and get it fixed.

    They would not give me an option. I stayed talking with adjusters for three weeks back and forth, and I got an appointment last week. It was taking them so long to get back with me as far as information. I said, “Can I just get a refund and get another TV or can you all send me something?” They told me the only thing that I could do was either keep it as is or I would have to take it to that facility. I couldn’t do anything else so I took it to the facility and they fixed the TV, and it’s doing fine now. But it was such an inconvenience to have to drive an hour and a half forth, and then a hour and a half back just to get a television that doesn’t even work. I could have just not gotten the SquareTrade and did it on my own or went to a company that was in my town. Because having to drive to that town and back, that’s gas and time of waiting. A year ago, they’d bring somebody to your house to either fix it or refund you with a new television. But now, it has changed.

    I phoned SquareTrade to file a claim for a tablet and spoke to a representative. The rep stated he'd send me an email to file a claim and then hung up. The link in the email went to https://www.squaretrade.com/web-app/registration/launch. There I was asked to click where I’d purchased the plan and next to type my email address. I was then told to go to my email for a claims link but nothing ever arrived. So I called SquareTrade back and the same process happened again. Next I tried the online chat but that was canceled as I was typing!

    Finally, I clicked a link to file a claim on SquareTrade's website. It also sent me to the above web page where I was asked where I purchased my plan and for my email address, then it says to check my email. Nothing ever comes to my email to file an ACTUAL claim. It's a circular process leading to nothing! I feel like this insurance is a scam. Why can’t they just give me the claims website so I can begin the claims process?! By the way, there was nothing in my email's junk/spam folder either.

    I submitted my claim 15 days ago, with receipts (speakerphone went out on my S9+). Checked yesterday to see why I hadn't yet been reimbursed and it said "claim closed". AFTER I submitted a claim for the repairs I already had done, they wanted me to do a "factory reset" on my phone. No... just mindless nonsense. My phone works perfect now. Apparently, they floundered and lost not only my repair receipt, but the receipt for the phone itself. I submitted both yesterday amid 3 phone calls to customer service. Overnight I rcvd several emails from S.T. stating that my claim was incomplete, so I resubmitted my receipts and called to follow up.

    The CS rep confirmed that everything was rcvd and we were good to go. Later today (you can see where this is going) I rcvd another email. Called CS and the rep I spoke with had no record of my previous conversations. Started over from scratch, repeating myself over and over as she babbled off rhetorical written protocols. Submitted documents AGAIN, while she was on the phone with me. Again, after another hour, was assured we were good to go. Got an email tonight. Guess what it said! Yep, just submitted docs again. I've wasted 4 hours trying to resolve an $89 claim. Utterly livid...

    When I have sent my Vizio soundbar to fix the speakers as they were not working. Square Trade never fixed the issue and never gave the remote control of the product to me back and they lost it. When I called regarding this customer representative and their supervisor were very rude and didn't answer me properly and left the product without remote. I have to give 1 star for this because that's the least of it. I will never suggest people to buy or use this insurance. Worst service and worst customer representatives.

    We have a 2.5 year old Hitachi tv that had vertical lines appear on the screen. SquareTrade gave us a 3 day run around saying they couldn't read the receipt and told us to go to Sam's to reprint it (from 2017!). We argued and finally got to speak with a tv technician specialist (so they say). He had us send pics of the screen which we did. We received an immediate response that the screen was cracked which voided the warranty. This is ridiculous, it doesn't get touched or moved and there is no crack! We will pursue this with Sam's Corporate and the BBB. It was a 4 year extended warranty and they won't even attempt to help us. Outsourced overseas and horrible attitude and service.

    The first time I called, they told me they sent the replacement phone. I gave them a little bit of time because it was right around New Year's. I called back about a week later, and they told me that it was being processed and being shipped out. I called again and they said they would call me within 24 hours and tell me if they were gonna send me the money or if they were gonna give me the phone. They called and said they were gonna give me a check instead. They said for my replacement, I will get the LG Vu 4. But instead of that, I got $69 back. So I pretty much got screwed out of a phone. So now, I'm using a tablet and it's harder to use it for work.

    I kept getting the runaround from everybody. One person that I talked to was nice, but the other one was rude. I've done customer service and it's not very fun when you're getting rude people. But when you tell someone you're gonna do something and you don't do it, it frustrates people. This the first time I ever used it, and I don't think I'd use it again.

    I bought a television refurbished so I made sure to get Squaretrade's protection plan to supplement the return policy. Lo-and-behold 131 days later the item totally dies. TCL and Walmart would not cover it so I went to SquareTrade. It took a couple emails but I finally got a callback. The rep was extremely kind (as are most of the reps I have spoken with), and told me that the claim would be honored and that I would be receiving an equivalent set via a link email. I checked the email and all of the Tvs displayed were far inferior to my set. Even at the refurbished price these televisions were $100 -$150 less than what I paid. Not even retail, just what I actually paid. I emailed SquareTrade telling them this twice then called them the next day. The rep told me to wait until the next day and keep checking. I still got the same results through the link.

    The next day I called back and was on hold for an hour until I hung up. Calling again got an error and hangup. So I waited till a couple hours later called back again and they said that they were manually locating me an equivalent television and to hold off for 24 hours. 2 hours later they emailed me saying they would just send a check. The amount was not disclosed so I called again today to find out that I had lost the money I spent on the plan as well as the money I spent on tax.

    The whole process was exhausting and took days of calling and emailing and going between different companies for me to only lose a lot of money as an end result. I learned my lesson not to by refurbs, (I believe they shouldn't legally be allowed to be sold as well) and now I am have to get another Tv. And in my new search I look at the SquareTrade protection and think that it is just a waste on a new product because no matter what you will lose a lot of money.

    My daughter dropped the phone, stepped on it, and it got wet. I did have a tracking device on it, but the battery went dead, so it no longer picked up on that.     I bought a jewelry item and I was offered to place SquareTrade insurance on it so I did. When the item was scratched and damaged, I had to file a claim. It was a little bit hard to find my account because I wasn't aware I had to register the account. The time that you purchase the insurance, you should be aware that you have to register the actual item in SquareTrade because I didn't know how it works until I had to really look into it. But we were able to locate my account and then the customer service agent helped me out through my process. Instead of replacing the item, they refunded some of the money that I spent on the item.

    I will never opt for a Square Trade warranty again and will shop differently as a result. I purchased their warranty on a phone we purchased on eBay. After a week of back and forth emails, calls, running to the Iphone store over an hour away to get proof that it doesn't fall under Manufacturer warranty, they are now saying it was accidental. My daughter woke up one morning to find her phone with a thick line on the iPhone display running vertically. It was charging the night prior, never dropped, no scratches, etc. In FLAWLESS condition otherwise. How is that accidental? To add insult, they are using a foreign company for customer service that you have to deal with a dialect and can't escalate your call. I'm told I'll hear from a manager. I highly doubt it.

    Sent off a DVR from a security camera because the fan was intermittently working & overheating. The process was easy. Print a label, pack the items, & ship it. We got the DVR back in about a week with the paperwork attached to it saying the "Electrical Fan Replaced." Just looking at the fan it was not replaced. Called Squaretrade & they could not tell me if the fan was replaced or not. All she could tell me was to plug it in and see if it was working. She told me if I had a problem, to call them back but could not tell me anything about my repairs. Complete waste of time & money! Better off just buying another one.

    I purchased a refurbished Ipad Pro 12.9 (second generation) through Walmart, purchased the Square Trade protection offered and after 3 months my Ipad became non-responsive to touch. I notified square trade and was told that I needed to update and reset the device then reinstall the operating system which I did. I contacted square trade again and was told now to have Apple diagnose or fix and they would reimburse my expense. I worked directly with Apple and after more testing I was given the green light to take the Ipad into an Apple certified tech. center. More testing revealed that the Ipad was defective and needed replacement!

    Armed with the proof in the form of paperwork, I was told by square trade that once the documents were uploaded I would have the remedy in 24 hours. I called square trade back 24 hours later and was told that although Apple confirmed the device was defective there would be more testing! I have now been asked to ship the item back so another tech. can waste more time to discover what we already know, I could not wait anymore so I purchased a brand new Ipad 12.9 pro and have learned two valuable lessons, first don't buy refurbished devices and second don't be fooled with the guarantee of worry free protection square trade offers, I have never had to jump through so many hoops.

    A plan was purchased and I had to jump through hoops to get it taken care of. Once it was sent back for the THIRD TIME, they tried to tell me they wanted to repair it again. Keep in mind that the receipt sent to me said the device was repaired but in the additional comments it said "no problem detected with the item." So when I asked them what exactly was repaired if there was no problem detected, no one could tell me. So they have had my iPod back and forth since December and we are half way through January and still no working iPod has been sent to me. I was told it would be replaced after I sent it back the third time. They have yet to honor this. So save your money and don't buy a used iPod from eBay and then an extended warranty through SquareTrade. All you will be doing is wasting your money.

    I bought a policy on a mouse, then returned the mouse. I went to check if that canceled the policy, it did not. So I went to SquareTrade.com and tried to cancel the policy. Can't find a way. I go the help section, it says click on the policy, then the quick menu on the right and select cancel policy. There is no quick menu. It is a lie. So I try their live chat. It says connecting for 40min, then disconnected. I look for a customer service email, they don't list one. I used to like SquareTrade, it gave me confidence to buy used electronics and make sure that they would work. Now I do not trust them in the slightest. These are immoral business practices and it feels like they are in the business of tricking their customers out of money, rather than providing the ethical service for which they are paid. I encourage you not to use them, and tell others to not use them as well.

    I am clumsy and thought it would be best to spend the extra 40 bucks on a warranty. I got SquareTrade and the process when making a claim was okay. However, the first individual that I spoke with, I don't know if they misunderstood. It was an Apple Watch. They told me to take it to the Apple Store to see if they would repair it, even though I explained that it wasn't a manufacturer's issue. It was incidental.     While I am not sure who Lisa is, I am glad they worked with me to resolve. Disappointed that they will not acknowledge their new policy of not refunding taxes is New as it is in disclaimer on new policies yet was nowhere in my year old contract. But I will (have already purchased a policy on re-placement) use them again. Just leery with their inability to admit their error in not sending back taxes from start on policies that covered them. And question how many others may just accept when they show them disclaimer from new policy (I kept copy of my original).

    While I was at first extremely satisfied with promptness of service and the resolution of re-imbursing for the product (as they determined this was less costly than them trying to repair) I was confused when they only sent reimbursement for the product less sales taxes. When I contacted them back on this Issue was told taxes were paid to the Government and that I would have to request that back from The Government. This (to me) is laughable as if I return an item taxes are returned as well and taxes are charged again when I replace item with new purchase of same/like product. I am not sure if they were uninformed in U.S. Tax practice, as I have never heard this before concerning return of sales taxes unless was concerning tax exempt status.

    When I mailed in a DS, a part of my Switch, I explained that during use the joysticks stopped working and days later my screen just froze and in the initial call I was told that should be a repairable problem. After mailing it in a few days later we received an email that it could not be repaired because of accidental damages. When I called for further explanation no one was able to explain what the technicians found to deem it accidental. I again advised it was not dropped. It was in my hands and stopped working. No help. I asked for someone offering help and was told by Tash there was no one beyond her who could help. Please never send these people one red cent because it's a total rip off. I will never purchase an extended warranty AGAIN.

    It’d be worth it to add SquareTrade warranty when you buy stuffs if you haven’t done it. I bought something from Walmart and then they added SquareTrade warranty onto my kid’s DVD player. I've used SquareTrade for many years, for five years. I've bought the warranties for DVD players. I think that they always had them, for Walmart. I just filed a "stops working". The player was clicking and the warranty is easy to use. There's no hassle. You can send it in or not. You have options. I just went out and bought a new one with the check that SquareTrade sent out from the cost of the other one. You can either find one similar and they'll ship it out.     SquareTrade doesn't honor their warranty. I bought a TV from Target in March of 2018 so I got the SquareTrade warranty. I never had to try to use it until the end of last month when I kept getting a runaround from them. They covered electronic malfunctions. I had an electronic malfunction and the people on the phone were very rude and didn’t know what was going on. I sent them a picture of my problem and said, “Hey, it looks like it’s an image burn-in, but it’s not” because image retention would not be covered. So, I said, “Do I need to show you proof that it’s not?” They said, “No, we understand” and that they would get back to me in 48 hours, but they never did.

    I called them and they said, “Oh, yeah, it’s been denied.” I said, "I never got an email or anything.” And the guy said, “Well, send some video and pictures in that shows that image is not on the screen.” So, I did. I called back, and the woman I talked to said that they didn’t get the videos. I said, “Well, I kinda wanna send it to you guys.” She said, “Well, you can send it to us if it makes you feel better and sleep better at night. But we’re still gonna deny you without looking at them.” I was annoyed by that. So, I talked to a manager and they said they’re gonna get back to me. It has been 12 days. I’m thinking about taking them to a small claims court to sue them to get my money back. I’m gonna do it soon. I’m gonna win, so I’m not so worried about them.

    I understand the reason for some troubleshooting to find the problem, but when you call back with the same problem it should be obvious that a repair needs to scheduled. After calling every day for 5 days with the same problem you shouldn't have to perform another test. I think the information from the phone call is not being used on follow up calls. Also the repairman was overbooked for the day I scheduled and had to reschedule for the next day. Something I think Square Trade should be aware of. In the end the problem was resolved by the repairman.

    My 3 year old son accidentally stepped on my Chromebook and shattered the inside part of the screen. Thank goodness for my accidental damage warranty!     I bought a laptop from Costco, and the screen got black after a year and a half, send to SquareTrade (Lawrenceville, Ga) the replacement screen was not put properly, front sleeves are buckle up it's some unprofessional who repair my laptop. The back cover was not properly fit. I don't suggest anyone laptop issue SquareTrade from Costco is not professional services. If you have to send Lawrenceville, GA talk a lot of photos, hold proof, Costco's help desk services were also not answered. If you were buying a laptop, please purchase an extra manufacture warranty, not SquareTrade.

    I got a 10-year warranty for the chair. The chair is almost two years old and a seam on it started coming apart. The bottom cushion where the seam is started breaking apart. Sometimes, if you send a defective product back, it costs more than its worth. If I have to send the cushion back in for them, I gotta take the chair apart. It was a pain putting it together. But the process was good. I called up SquareTrade and told them what was going on. The rep processed the claim and gave me a partial credit to have the chair fixed or to buy a new one. I've also used SquareTrade before, and I've never had any problems.

    My experience with SquareTrade quick. They referred me to the factory because the microwave was still under factory warranty. They told me of my options. They explained to me what the first course of action was and gave me the information to connect to the manufacturer so that I could get it taken care of. We took it back to Sam's and they replaced it. SquareTrade couldn't take care of the problem because it wasn't in their ball field to take care of, but they sent me to the person that could take care of it. That's a plus.

    I got the insurance for my Nintendo Switch. When the moving pad on the right Joy-Con wasn't moving, putting forth the claim was a little difficult. There were so many parts we had to do. We went through Nintendo first, and that took a lot of time. And then they needed proof. But they gave us the outcome that they couldn’t do anything. So then we had to go back to SquareTrade. The back-and-forth was very difficult. My mom was handling most of the insurance stuff, but from what she told me, the first person she talked to wasn’t very helpful. But when she tried again, the people in charge of the Spanish help were a lot more helpful. We’re gonna send it back to SquareTrade, and then they’re going to do their own claims process. Because from what Nintendo determined was that it was either basic wear and tear, so they couldn’t do anything on their end.

    So now, we’re going through the SquareTrade process. But the communication wasn’t that clear. For example, when we had to send stuff to SquareTrade, the representative we had said they would send us an email, and then we’d have to attach to that email or send it to the email they sent. But they never got around to sending the email. So that was really irritating because then we had to call SquareTrade again, and go through the process again, and then have that email sent to us so we can continue on with the process.

    I purchased a graphics card on Amazon, and decided to insure the product using SquareTrade. The additional 10 dollars and something cents seemed worth it, if it was going to cover 3 years of product life. After about a year of use, the graphics card started having issues, so I tried to contact squaretrade about my warranty. They asked me to initially get the graphics card "repaired" at a "cell phone shop" according to the map on their website. Then they asked me to send them an email from a computer repair store stating that the graphics card can not be repaired in general.

    I have sent them an email several times, because they said they could not read the format. I talked to squaretrade today, and the agent told me the back office laughed at my email, and stated that it was not valid. He also told me I would need to provide a "handwritten letter from the business owner, with a stamp from the store on it." This is where it gets interesting. I have no idea what to do next, and I am planning to escalate the issue with a manager if possible. Squaretrade is not worth it. Do not get any kind of insurance with them. This is also an ALLSTATE company.

    DON’T USE SQUARE TRADE TO INSURE YOU EXPENSIVE ELECTRONICS, WILL DO ANYTHING NOT TO COVER REPAIR/REPLACEMENT COST. I have used square trade in the past to insure small products, and if I had had an issue it works well, in some cases I didn’t even have to send in the item. But I purchased a used Macbook pro on Ebay about 8 months ago ONLY BECAUSE I had confidence there Square trades insurance program would support me if I had any issues…. Man was I wrong.

    The problem started when I sent my laptop in for repairs. The laptop still works and turns on, but when I plug in an external monitor or when I stress out the video card it randomly powers off and is really had to get it to turn back on. The laptop also feels like it overheats and the battery has gone bad. I had already had the laptop diagnosed by apple, and they let me know because of a common Graphics card issue. I was hoping it was something minor I could repair myself, but seeing that it wasn’t, I started the claim process and sent my laptop to squaretrade.

    They informed me that my laptop had been water damaged due to a spill and that was not covered under my plan (care id # **). One problem…. I never spilt anything on my laptop, and was almost sure it wasn’t water damaged (I looked at it myself even I have 10+ years in IT/systems administration). There are no kids/pets in my house and I generally travel with my laptop in a sleeve, and in my backpack. Something didn’t sound right from the beginning and I am pretty sure they are just trying to stop payment on this. But because I knew they weren’t going to take my word for it, I took my computer back to Apple for a second look.

    The geniuses at apple took a look at my computer, and re-assured me there are no signs of water damage (which I have in writing) but they did say that I have a “apple desecrated logic board” meaning that I have a mother board that has pollutant issues overtime. Feeling confident with my work authorization form, called square trade again. This time they actually sent me pictures of what they are claiming to be the “water damage caused by a spill” which is a little size of blue oxidation half the size of a spec of dust in the middle of the motherboard.

    From my experience, and my research water damage from corrosion usually effects a larger portion of the motherboard, and usually around the corners if it's on the back side (where it was) on the seeing as the liquid had to travel along the reverse side of the motherboard to reach and even oxidize the effected region. Water damage is the last likely cause for this issue, as capacitors and other electronic items often expand and cause oxidation around weak solder connections. For one, I am confident that water damage is not the cause of my issue. And even more confident it is not caused by water damage. Have had the laptop looked at by Apple two times and they have assured me the issue was caused by a hardware failure. For the second time they just promised me a callback from a manager. I have tried to wait to speak with a manager but they won' let me. I hope this time someone actually calls me back.

    Contacted Square Trade to work out warranty that I purchased. Was told my claim was my fault that the item was damaged and that they couldn't replace item/honor my warranty. Even after I had a letter from the product's company stating that the type of damage done was common. The original company said they would of happily replaced my item if it was under a year from purchase. But that the extended warranty provider should honor my claim. Waste of time and money buying a warranty that doesn't work. I feel square trade is scamming people from their money $1 at a time.

    Purchased an outdoor patio heather from Sams Club with 3-year extended warranty provided by SquareTrade. While it took several weeks to prove to SquareTrade that I had indeed purchased a warranty. Their first recommendation was to ship it via UPS or transport to a local repair show - this is a 200lb 10ft tall heater - therefore UPS was not an option. Then called Sams Club to see if they could recommend a local repair shop - Sams club discontinued the product 2 years back and suggested I use Google to find a local repair shop. Latest suggestion is to get a local repair shop to write an e-mail announcing that the product can't be repaired - then Square Trade will consider a reimbursement - challenge is this is a unique product that local stores know nothing about and there's no revenue for them to write an e-mail.

    Have finally found Backyard Creations - a support company representing the manufacturer - however no parts for at least a month - they suggest I call back in Feb - guess in the meantime I will study up on how to repair electrical ignition systems as this warranty relies on the consumer to be their own technician - complete waste of money and even though the folks at SquareTrade have been polite to deal with in the chat environment - the entire experience/sage has been dreadful. Now going on 37 days and counting....

    I was very pleased after my initial contact with SquareTrade informing them of the problem with my Vizio TV. A technician was promptly sent to my home to install a replacement part but it did not solve the problem and I was told I would be offered options for replacing the TV. 2 options were offered and I contacted SquareTrade again to see if any other options were available as the replacement TVs were not highly rated. I was then given a third option which was another Vizio set. I asked if I could go back to one of the original options and was told that was not possible - the set offered was the only one to meet the specs of my present TV.

    Why offer the others initially and then be told that they are no longer viable options? Reviews of Vizio TVs contain numerous pages of owners dissatisfied with their Vizio sets with the same problem as mine. I expect the replacement TV will soon begin experiencing the same problems I had with my original purchase. Very disappointed with how my claim was handled.

    WARNING‼️ Unfortunately I got water on my phone and it died. The claim process with SquareTrade has been HORRIBLE! Like just absolutely awful in every way from the customer service to the fact that I will have to be without a phone for at least TWO WEEKS because they don’t have a replacement phone for me. It’s absolutely ludicrous. I’m just waiting for the day someone gets hurt or cannot contact emergency services because of their blatant disregard for human safety or timely claim handling. Then I’m sure they will have a lawsuit on their hands???‍♀️ And really it seems that’s what needs to happen for them to recognize what they’re doing is wrong and change their policies.

    It’s really a shame how bad this insurance was. I just knew I should have cancelled this plan and went with the one offered at T-Mobile because I would have had a new phone within 2 days. Not only that, but they keep calling my broken phone. When I am able to contact them through other phones, they always say, “We have been calling you” and I’m like, "ON THE BROKEN PHONE THAT LITERALLY WON’T TURN ON, you mean????" I have requested now about a dozen times, to be contacted by email but they can’t even handle that. It’s been now 5 days and I haven’t spoken to anyone regarding whether or not they are sending a replacement phone, or received any updates to my claim. Seriously, I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy???‍♀️

    Everything is good. I dropped my clippers and the blade broke, so I wanted the warranty to get a brand-new one. SquareTrade did this gift card thing which I used and I bought some different clippers. It worked out. The process was too easy. I almost felt like somebody could’ve taken advantage of it. Let’s say somebody has bought something and it didn't break or anything. SquareTrade offers them a $30 gift card to just waive the warranty, which the customer only spent $9 to get. SquareTrade should at least get the product from the people.

    I purchased an Acer laptop from Costco with a 3 year accidental damage spills warranty. I’ve had the computer completely replaced internally by acer before I owned it for three months. It has been repaired by Costco several times and now under Square Trade 5 times. At what point do I get to stop sending in this lemon for repairs? It’s had the motherboard and chips replaced twice, hard drive replaced 3 times, speakers replaced once, keyboard and case once, drivers twice and every time the turnaround before the next issue gets smaller. Each time with square trade I’m told it will be fixed and not have more issues. This computer has been gutted and replaced several times and cost them more than it would have cost to scrap it at this point. I’ve always gotten square trade in the past but will go somewhere else in future for computer warranties at this rate. Very disappointed that in three years it’s been in the shop more than in my house.

I made a claim and after numerous calls and emails I received an offer for a Samsung 6900. It currently costs half as much as my vizio. I called them yet again and they just kept giving me the run around about going back and checking every day to see if a different tv was offered. All I want is my full purchase price of my tv. It's why I purchased the warranty. Already tired of subpar offers. Just fighting them to do the right thing.

    I have my Amazon Echo Dot smart speaker, which I bought from B&H Photo in New York, New York, covered by SquareTrade. I had the device on a little stand and the wire was plugged in about four feet away. For some reason, a stack of pails fell over and hit the wire. The wire got disconnected from the Echo Dot and the Echo Dot fell on the floor. After that, when I plugged it in, it didn't work anymore.

    I called B&H and they told me that I had to file the claim through SquareTrade. I went to SquareTrade’s website, but I couldn't get it done on the website. There was something I didn't know how to do or it wouldn’t proceed at some point. I called them on the phone and got very excellent help from one of their employees. The process took about 15 minutes or less. I sent the Echo Dot back and they sent me a check for the amount that I paid for the speaker. Their employees are well-trained, customer-oriented, efficient and do the job really well. They believe in doing a really good job of making it easy for the customer. And by doing those things, they make money because they attract people. I like SquareTrade and I would use them again.

    My Motorola Moto G4 from ** was 4 years old and just about at the end of the SquareTrade warranty. I called because sound stopped coming out of the hole that is used to hold it up to your head, and the speaker. They gave me four steps to follow and when I told them that the technician at the store they referred me to under step one said he probably would have issues getting circuit boards and things to fix the issue, SquareTrade immediately offered me a replacement phone which they sent. I've used them twice in the last 10 years or so and each time they've been excellent.

    I'm not sure that I'll renew it this time for my replacement phone because the privately owned company was purchased by Allstate Insurance Company and the rate for the warranty it's now three times as much, I believe, which means after just over a year I may have paid in more than the phone is actually worth. That I will have to check. Yet it used to be about $2.99 a month and now it's $8.99 a month so that is a huge difference and I'm thinking that the insurance company is the reason.

    I placed a phone call to submit a claim for the printer. There were a couple of things that I needed to do. There was part of the receipt that they couldn’t see and they wanted to look at, and I took a picture and sent it to them. But everything was seamless. It was immediate, and there was no problem. I spoke with all men, but every one of them was articulate, polite, and responsive. They understood exactly what I was saying and couldn’t have been more helpful. When it all came down, it was determined that the best thing to do would be to send me a check, and we'd go out and buy a new one and get my printing resumed. So they sent me a check for the $179.     I filed a claim with Squaretrade today for my Nintendo Switch I purchased at Target. The Joy Con controller’s directional wand was not functioning. The unit itself works fine. At the end of my online claim it suggested I would have to mail my unit in. Since the unit itself was functional, I decided to live chat to confirm if I could just send in the controller (since you can buy a squaretrade warranty on a controller purchased by itself). The chatter informed me I would have to send the whole unit in to verify the controller worked and it would take 2 days for them to get my entire unit, then 7-10 additional business days before I would get it back. So 2.5-3 wks I would be without my functioning switch for a broken controller. I find it hard to believe they need my exact unit to test my controller. How do they test warrantied controllers? Do you ask customers to send in their non warrantied units?

    Then I was told if they cannot fix it, I would be sent a nearly new controller. I asked the customer service representative what if something happened to my functioning unit in the mail? He assured me it wouldn’t and to go ahead put it in any box and mail it in. I asked him to ask a manager if I could just send the controller, since they have refurbished units they would be able to test it. He told me his manager stated they would need the whole unit. If my unit was malfunctioning I would have no problem mailing it in, but it's fine and has the biggest value. I hate to take the risk of the unit being damaged in transit by improper packaging or handling for a $65 dollar controller that would be more than paid for in shipping and labor. I am extremely unhappy with the process and explanation that they need my unit to test my controller. Controllers can sync to any switch.

    When we purchased a Keurig coffee maker through Amazon, we also bought SquareTrade. The Keurig was not providing the required pressure on the K-cups so it wouldn’t make any coffee at all.     My son scrambled the screen on my cell phone. The SquareTrade agent was pleasant and accommodating, but the replacement they sent was a piece of garbage. SquareTrade said it was a genuine phone from **, but it must have been a refurbished one. I sent for another one. Neither replacement worked. I am cancelling SquareTrade. We have spent weeks paying the full price to ** with very limited usage. I expect the replacement to be a well functioning phone. The screens freeze.     We purchased a SquareTrade protection plan for my Note 9 phone. At the time, it was at Sam’s Club and I had gotten a good deal with getting 300 on a visa card to get the Note 9. When they told me that it was $99-protection, which is cheaper than AT&T would be if I were to do their monthly plan, I took it. However, I was misinformed on the aspect that the phone can get broken twice for two years, once every year. I didn't realize that I had to pay $139 on top of my $99, which still is cheaper. It was originally explained that it was $99 for two years. I was told that if your phone has any issues or breaks in those 2 years two times, you can get it replaced for free. Their rep were very nice though. It was a Sam’s Club associate who deals with the phones and the SquareTrade with it.

    My phone fell on the rocks in the winter and cracked. I let it go but as I was listening to music on my phone, my screen just went blank. If somebody was Facebooking me, it’d still beep, but it was a black screen, so that was why I had to get it replaced right away. My husband filed a claim online and the process was very easy. I wasn’t waiting for a new phone because all my information was on this phone ,even my calendar, and I didn’t iCloud any of it. I was very upset. I have doctor’s appointments and I don’t even know when they are. But I took the SIM out and put it in my old S7 phone. So, I just brought back my calendar, which was good. But in the meantime, my husband found a location that does SquareTrade out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. And then, once they got the screen in, we went down and had it replaced.

    It wasn’t SquareTrade's fault, but my S Pens wouldn’t fit in the screen because that’s where it clicks in. And my phone, I don’t know whatever screen they sent me. Supposedly, it was new from Samsung, but it did not work. My internet was in and out and I was getting dropped phone calls. I didn’t have service where I always have service. Thank god I was getting another screen in because of the S Pen. So, that whole situation was ridiculous. I wasn't too happy. I had called SquareTrade to say I had to make another three-hour trip to Harrisburg and I wanted it reimbursed because it wasn’t my fault that SquareTrade and Samsung gave me a bad screen. And the lady I spoke with laughed when I said, “Of course, you're not gonna do nothing.” So, I hung up on her. I was so mad. But I just chalked it up as people are ignorant. Of course, any company’s gonna try to get out of doing any more than they have to. That’s how it is.

    I even dealt with the people that did the screen replacing and the manager in the background was a jerk. I told the employee on the phone that I heard the manager on the background. He’s supposed to be professional. It ain’t my fault that I brought my phone to them. It now needs to be replaced, and now, they're not telling me when I’m getting my screen. One minute they're saying, ‘He ordered it Saturday,’ but now, they don’t know if it was ordered.

    I bought TV from Costco and Square Trade warranty. Tv been working great but 3 1/2 weeks ago stop working so I made claim the send some parts and schedule repair company to come out and fix the tv. After repair TV works 2 days and again same issue. They send out some parts and scheduled another repair. This time only works few hours. Now it’s been 2 weeks and now they want to see some video clip of tv so I record a clip of tv showing it’s not working. So overall it wasn’t too bad. I know they have to follow their guidelines and stuff.

    Now the bad part off this claim TIME when repair companies give you 3-5 hours window to come out 2 times. After all this they are telling me great news they are going to replace my tv with brand new one give me 3 tvs to select and they will ship me new one in 10 some days BUT I can’t buy any warranties on new tv. I can’t upgrade. It has to be whatever they offer. Too bad I had to write this review on Christmas Day. I haven’t select any tv yet. I think I want to speak to Costco customer service to see what they have to say about this. I have zero problem to accept what they offer but when I found out I paid $900 some for my tv and same tv now half the price I want get the tv. I want not what they are telling me to get and I want to be able to get warranty. Thank you square trade for making my Christmas great.

I purchased SquareTrade and I've filed a claim recently and so far, I’m not getting the results I needed. I’m having issues. They sent me a link on my shipping label to return the items and I was not able to download that.     After having purchased a cell phone and SquareTrade plan from Ebay in September we honestly never thought we would have to make a claim on it. Come December the phones camera stopped working completely and, after researching it ourselves, we found it was a common hardware problem found in the model we bought. First we attempted to go through the manufacturer warranty which offered no help and then finally through squaretrade.

    Our plan, as we knew, didn't cover accidents, and we were fully aware that this didn't occur on the phone because of one, however, the moment we mentioned the phone had been dropped before (let's be honest, every phone has been dropped/fallen multiple times so of course we said yes, not thinking anything of it because the last drop wouldn't have had anything to do with the cameras functioning as it happened far too long ago; and being dropped out of a pocket onto a car floor isn't much of a drop to be fair) we were told that the warranty wouldn't cover it because it was an accident on our part. Really? So instead of actually covering a technical problem with the phone, that was even verified as one by the Sony Techs, we were given a refund for the plan because "they couldn't help us out". This is not a service I would recommend or advise any person purchase.

    Worst Warranty Experience Ever!! Purchased an Uber Scoot 1600 watt scooter for my son at Walmart for $685 for scooter, $77 for Square Trade warranty and $60 tax. Total $822. Scooter developed electric issues. It would take off when the key was turned. Very dangerous situation. Contacted Square trade to get the item fixed under the warranty. After many calls and several supervisors I finally got my repair approved. Now comes the funny part. When I asked where I should bring it for repair they said, "Sir we don't provide that information. You will have to find a repair shop on your own." Wow I did not expect that response but as my only option I started calling repair shops in my area Southern California with very little luck.

    The 1st shop California Electric in Costa Mesa tried for 2 months to get parts for the scooter and then finally called me to say, "Pick up the scooter. We can't get the manufacture to respond (the scooter is made in China and distributed from a company in England) and charged me $45. Shop #2 was a scooter shop that told me to bring it in and after 2 days called me to pick it up saying they don't know where to get parts. No charge for this shop. Only my time and effort lugging a 120 lb scooter around town. Shop #3 AAA Electric in Tustin Ca where the scooter has been for 6 weeks also called me as said he had no luck with finding any parts or a repair resource for this scooter. He was nice enough to not charge me after I told him my story.

    Calling Square trade was so frustrating. Every time I called even though I spoke with many many people including 2 supervisors I would have to start my story over again from the beginning always promising a call back within 24 - 48 hours which did not happen. I constantly had to call back to check on any progress. When I asked for the supervisor that I had spoken to and had all of my info I was told "He's off for 3 days" or "She's not available". I spoke with supervisors Jamal, Whitney, customer service rep Kishema who spoke with manager Orville.

    After almost 9 months of dealing with these electrical issues manager Orville finally came to the only resolution for my claim # ** they could offer and that was to ship this 120 lb (160lbs including the 45 lb shipping crate needed for this Scooter) Fedex 3000 miles from Southern California to Willamsville New York and then back again. Shipping estimate $660 each way and $135 for the shipping crate which they will pay for. That's $2270 without the repair and parts cost for a 1 year old $660 scooter. No wonder with this kind of decision making my experience was so bad.

    I will also share this experience with walmart corporate to let them know how their customers are being treated. I told Square trade, "If you can't fix an item DON`T OFFER A WARRANTY ON THAT ITEM. It makes no sense." At this point I'm going to contact Square Trade corporate offices in San Fransisco. I asked service rep Kishema if there is a time limit on the repair. She told me, "If after 15 days there is no resolution we would look into other options," and she was not even sure which shop it would go to or if that shop can even get parts which to me seems very open ended.

    It could literally be months before I get the scooter back making it close to a year my son 16 year old is without his scooter which he was using to go to and from high school. Without the scooter I have to drive him daily and make arrangements for him to get home the approx 5 miles from High school. I hope this reviews helps shed some light on others' potential experience with Square trade and will do a follow up review if I hear back from Square trade or walmart corporate offices. Ed

    This was the worst experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. It has been a month and it is still not resolved. I knew that the phone was unfixable and yet I was made to take it to a repair shop. They charged me $152. The phone still did not work. Squaretrade then charged me $149 to open a new claim for the phone since it was unfixable. They then sent me a phone that was not comparable with my phone company. They would not send me another phone until they received this phone back. I mailed it the same day.

    When we finally received the the proper phone, almost a month after filing the claim, I called the the company to get our refund for the $152 and I spoke with someone who said that I would receive a response within 48 hours. 5 days later there is still no response. Whenever I call in to talk to a manager they say that they will call me back within 24 hours and they NEVER do.     I was claiming the Stylo 4 but SquareTrade didn't have it as an option at that time. They didn't have it in stock. The rep told me what phone options they had. They gave me a Rebel and the Samsung Galaxy J7, and I said I'll choose that one. However, I have to have my phone for work purposes so I cannot take my phone, mail it to them and then wait for them to mail mine because then I'd be out my phone for weeks. They said they would see what they could do. The rep said that they would send the Samsung J7 to me with the print and label and he said once I got that, I should just put my phone back in that box with the print and label and mail it back. I said I could do that but almost a month has gone by and I still haven't received my phone.

    I called SquareTrade and they told me I was not getting my phone until I mailed my phone to them first. I asked what I was supposed to do about it and the only thing they said was they if I want to get my phone, I should get my print and label and mail them my phone, which they would get in five to seven business days, then once they receive it, they would mail mine out and I will have it within one to two business days. I told them I need my my phone first and that I can't go a week without my phone. I told them the last guy had told me they were gonna mail the phone. But I was told that no, they're not gonna mail me my phone.

    I'm very mad and upset with SquareTrade, and I'm very seriously thinking about getting an attorney. One minute they told me they were gonna mail me my phone and now, they're telling me that I wasn't offered that. But all these calls are supposed to be recorded and monitored for security and whatever purposes, and I hope they got that phone call recorded because if they don't, that's not gonna look good on them.

    My husband and I purchased a Samsung Curved TV at Costco with a warranty from SquareTrade. Now the TV has plastics that are peeling at the bottom and the top of the TV is lifting, I assume due to the make (curved). I filed a claim with Square Trade and they are claiming it's due to physical damage. My husband has treated this TV like the ring from Lord of the Rings, his precious. I told them the tv is not damaged, nothing is broken. The TV is just coming apart which it shouldn't. I don't think it's normal for this TV to come apart like it's doing. I bought a warranty for when the TV is not operating as it should. They said they only cover mechanical and electrical issues. The parts on this TV is coming apart and I assume causing the discoloration. This is a mechanical issue, the parts of the TV is creating a malfunction and the TV is not operating as it should and the parts are not operating as they should.

    I did a claim with SquareTrade for a power washer that was not working correctly. My husband said it was shooting out the way it is not supposed to. Filing the claim was a very easy process once I realized that I did not need the receipt, because I had been looking for the receipt and I could not find it. Once I had to go to Sam’s, where we bought the power washer, I went to their customer service and they told me they could look it up for me. They were very helpful and they gave me the information from the receipt.

    Then when I got home, I called SquareTrade. They said it would be a couple of days before they give me the refund, but looking at my emails, I do not see the refund yet. It has been at least a week, and what I got in my email is one that says my eGift card has been confirmed and will be sent by the gift card retailer within one business day. But I do not see it in my email, and I am wondering where it would be coming from, like who is the gift card retailer?

    I purchased a Hoverboard at Walmart Oct 17 the for my grandson's bday. Long story short. He charges the battery by turning off then plugging in for 8-10 hours.     Although there were some issues in submitting my warranty claim, it was certainly not due to the young man who assisted me over the phone. The website submission service was useless (hence 4-star rating) since they basically dismissed my claim as "just update your phone's software" even though it was a mechanical issue. The one other complaint is that their list of local repair places is grossly out of date. They provided two companies which were both long gone. Fortunately, they had no problem reimbursing me when I used an altogether different repair shop. All in all, my experience was positive and the cost of repair cost was reimbursed in less than a week.

    I have purchased Square Trade agreements for every tv and major item that I have purchased from Costco. I have dead pixels on my television that has gone from a straight line to a larger oddly shaped line and after jumping through all the hoops with pictures, dealing with costco, talking to Samsung and finally to square trade they determined that it is damage and signed their determination with "the square trade team". Convenient way to keep you in the system trying to work your way to the person who will actually make the decision. I'm not done getting this resolved but it is frustrating and I am pretty sure they are like many insurance companies that operate this way, 1st request deny and play the odds that many people will just accept the denial and quit. I understand but it lacks integrity.

    A member of SquareTrade's resolution team contacted me and apologized for the response got from their representatives who didn't seem to understand my complaint. The resolution team rep offered to pay the full amount to replace my printer with a similar printer because the first rep I spoke with had told they would do so. Based on this generous offer, I have updated my review to 3 stars. I would have given a better rating but it took quite a bit of effort to get what I believe is a satisfactory resolution.

    I purchased a multi-function printer from Walmart.com which was on sale for 45% off. I also purchased the SquareTrade 2-year protection plan available through Walmart. The printer failed and I called SquareTrade to report the problem. After discussing the problem and verifying the printer wasn't physically damaged through dropping it, etc and there was no liquid spilled in it, the representative told me they would ship a replacement printer of similar quality and features to my home (the printer I had purchased was no longer available). I agreed. I also received an email stating the same thing.

    Later I got a second email telling me instead they would send me a check for the amount I originally paid for the printer (which was 40% off the original price and not near enough to buy a replacement). Also, they would pay nothing to cover sales tax and shipping. A similar printer could not be found for the price I paid so they would just send me a check (which was not near enough to cover a replacement printer). I was told the rep should not have told me they would replace it and he would be coached for his error but they (SquareTrade) will not honor what their rep said they would do - as if it was my fault he gave me misinformation.

    They also told me they had no record of the email he sent me but I had not deleted it so I read it to them. Quote, "Good news, we've approved your claim for Replacement and we're finding a replacement item for you. Once we've found it, within 5 business days, we'll send it to the address below:" Close quote. They should have added, "Or maybe we won't." At any rate, according to management at SquareTrade, the first rep told me they would send me a replacement printer and they would not honor what he told me even though I had proof in his email and all conversations are recorded so they also had proof. Don't deal with SquareTrade if you have a choice.

    I bought a cell phone at end of this January. I bought from Amazon a year warranty. Cost me $52 to get warranty. I was on phone 4 times trying to get this authenticated once they had all information, I was told there is a $49 processing fee to send it there and back. Is that not why there is warranties so you don't have worry about cost. With addition they always sent me a box and had shipping label. Even a shipping label would do. I knew Apple would repair it for $40. So I said let me get other tech places. $30 to $35 was someone else's price. And I get it fixed right in the store. Wow that is even better.     When I purchased the Samsung SportGear S2 watch, I thought of purchasing insurance from SquareTrade because it was a good price compared to the watch's. I never thought that Samsung would be such a BAD and Uninspiring company with absolutely worthless customer service and a company that does not honor its own coverage! After 6 months of use, the battery died within 6 to 8 hours of charging! It was lasting for about 2 and 1/2 days prior. I called Samsung and their customer service decided that they do not honor the watch's warranty because I purchased it from a legitimate company on eBay!

    They claimed that it was (per its serial number) manufacturer 1 year to date, and as such the warranty is finished. It did not matter that I purchased it brand new, sealed 6 months ago.     I bought an Epic Learning Tab for 114 dollars and put a two year protection plan on it to be on the safe side. I have a two-year old son and you never know with kids.     I purchase a protection plan with everything I get. I have it for my cellphone, my electric air mattresses, my daughter’s hoverboard and on her electric scooters. Walmart usually offers SquareTrade so that’s what I purchase. I've filed claims with them for my cellphone, when I had an accident with it, and for the electric scooter, when something malfunctioned on it. Their customer service is good, and they assist if you purchased it and they made it better where you don't have to put some information in. It automatically puts most of the information in there. For a phone, you have to clear everything off it, and then you have to mail it to them. Once they receive it, they send you either a replacement or a gift card to replace it yourself.

    My 30cf LG fridge was supposed to be good basing on its highly rated reviews, but it broke after 2.5yrs. Very disappointed. Luckily I bought insurance of Square Trade from costco, and it was a smart move. First, LG took care of the compressor repair since it was still under manufacturing warranty, with the help of square trade representatives. Then, the water and ice dispenser broke not long after which required entire left door replaced. $710 was taken care by squaretrade. I paid about $150 for the Costco insurance, definitely a smart move! It is easy to get reimbursement too. Just email them the receipt. I had a number things covered by Squaretrade, for the past 4+ years. I am happy with their service so far and no hesitation in recommending to others.

    We don't usually purchase the warranty. So when 2 days after moving to a new home, my husband said the printer had an error code, I cringed. He works from home.     I did not give a 5 only because I had to search all over my phone for the refund. I think highlighting the email in red/solid caps with warranty refund would help--maybe Walmart needs to do this. But it is quite aggravating having to search for the email. Also the claim numbers are terribly long and I had to check 3-4 times for accuracy. Maybe a mix of letters, capital and regular, symbols might help.

    I was very happy that a repair was made successfully to my iPhone. The only criticism I have is that it took several calls to Square Trade to troubleshoot the problem and on each call I spoke with a different agent and had to re-explain the problem each time. Each time the agent would ask me if the problem was due to damage to the phone.
