    During the first 3 calls to Square Trade to address my problem of intermittent loss of TV picture I found to be pleasant, people really wanting to solve the problem. However my 4th call was very frustrating when told that nothing was wrong with my TV....issue was caused by an outside source & my Samsung TV did not have a screensaver screen....even though I have a video of it. I understand that an intermittent problem is hard to diagnose, especially over the phone, but to be told there is no problem is very frustrating and makes me really question the value of this service agreement.

    With Tv claims, it is essential to troubleshoot to determine the cause of the issue or if the device can be repaired. To troubleshoot the problem must be occurring at the time of claim filing. Also, we are unable to send a tech for intermittent issues if there is no guarantee the issue will happen during the visit.

I then called to speak with a rep to confirm what exactly I needed to file the claim. I was advised what I had was sufficient so I submitted a new claim online. Everyone I talked to or chatted with was very nice and eager to get my claim to resolution as soon as possible. The downside: I'd hoped to file a claim online, but ran into glitches on the website.     The first part of my experience was awful. First, Bose didn't even notify me that my insurance was with SquareTrade when I purchased their warranty. When I tried to file a claim on your website, which isn't great, it wouldn't let me file nor edit the claim. It just kept telling me to call squaretrade, which I did, they told me to file it on the website and gave me directions for someone who's account wasn't messed up. They said if I had trouble to use live chat. The live chat person had no idea what they were doing and told me to call back. I called and they told me all I had to do was to follow a link they were going to send me in an email. The "button" that said "continue your claim" wasn't even embedded with a link. And no, I wasn't on mobile.

    This was not the first email I received from squaretrade that was messed up. I work in development and I highly doubt this email problem is on my side. After my 4th call to you guys I told them I wanted to speak to a supervisor but, I never spoke to one because this guy actually was helpful and fixed my problems. He didn't understand at first but, when I explained the problem he filed the claim for me on his side; after I emailed a product receipt which I was told it was the reason for the problems. It is weird I was emailed to rate my experience with SquareTrade when I haven't even received my product back. I haven't even been told whether they can fix it or not. I guess I'll leave another review if something else goes wrong. Since that 3 stars is under the expectation I am receiving a fixed or new product without any other difficulties. It just seems like SquareTrade is somewhat dysfunctional where the left foot doesn't know what the right foot is doing.

    I had some electronic devices in the past but I thought that there was an extra plan that I could put on my Fitbit Ionic. So that's why I purchased the SquareTrade protection plan and after my claim with them, I was like, "Wow. I wanna do this again in the future." If I have an electronic device and have an opportunity to get SquareTrade on it, I'n gonna definitely do it.

    I did the claim because for whatever reason, the Fitbit stopped working. The time would work but the feature for counting the steps stopped working. The heart rate monitor and one other thing stopped working as well. I happened to remember that I had purchased the extra warranty. I just got on the website and put in my claim then. It was really easy and it was also really easy to follow up. But when it came to the receipt, although I keep everything, I couldn't find the dumb thing. Thankfully, I went back on Amazon and I found my invoice. I submitted that and it was accepted as my receipt. SquareTrade emailed me, saying that my Fitbit was not fixable and it would be like a week that I'd receive a new one. When I got home that day, there was a box with my new Fitbit in it on my door.

    I usually NEVER get extended warranties, but when we had to buy washer, dryer, and refrigerator after moving into a new house from Costco, I figured it'd be a good idea, especially since the price for the warranties was modest. As our luck would have it, our Samsung fridge was problematic from day 1 and we had ice maker and general cooling problems. After the 2 year mfr warranty ran out, we contacted SquareTrade for our cooling issues and ice maker issues many times. They were always cordial, professional and worked hard until the problems were resolved. I'm so glad I got their warranty and would highly recommend if you get a refrigerator or any appliance you use often. Unfortunately as they say, "They don't make things like they used to" is very true, and I definitely am very glad we invested in our Square Trade warranty.

    I ordered these warranties for a business we operate. I ordered them at the same time I ordered four new machines through Amazon. One of them won't start and I called to claim the warranty. After two hours of jumping through hoops and multiple phone calls to SquareTrade and Amazon to collect all the information. They informed me they don't do warranties for businesses and they would refund me the cost of the warranty. When ordering they did not display for personal use only. The lady on the phone didn't care and was nonchalant about this issue. Customer service is terrible and I would not recommend SquareTrade. It really feels like they ripped me off.

    I love my iPod. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't reciprocate and stopped making them. Due to supply and demand, iPods today are pricey, and all are pre-owned.     Our TV was having screen problems, SquareTrade approved a replacement right away, and offered a replacement, that was not even close to what we have.     I reset my tv for an Amazon update( needed to delete apps); the screen stayed on chose a language. I could not get the Amazon fire remote to allow me to chose a language.     A number of years ago, we purchased a 50" Samsung T.V from Amazon. When purchasing the amount was retail for $1,000 plus. We choose to buy a five-year plan from Square Trade. This is the fourth plan on Amazon. In December we contacted Square Trade regarding TV. After many calls and clarification, we shipped the end of February 2020 to the TV repair location in Buffalo, N.Y. Everything the POS said happened and we have our TV back working well.

    I bought a Samsung 65"TV on July 2016 from Costco with ST extended warranty. Last November the TV started showing a vertical line first followed by 2 horizontal lines and a dot on the screen. Filed a claim in Nov. Asked for receipt, photos etc sent everything. They said would discuss with Costco and call back and never did. Later when I called again, Oh, it's been 60 days have to file a new claim!! Did it again. Sent the pictures again. Now they refused my claim stating that the lines were created by an "Accident". I was telling them there was no accident, the TV was mounted on the wall for the past 4 years, not moved, not transferred, same location and no accidents. But they state that it was accident and that was determined by their TV department.

    When I asked to talk to the TV department, No you can't talk! I asked at least a technician to come for an evaluation/repair? The answer was "No". Is this a joke? I spend 1000's of $$$ for purchase and 100's of ## for ST warranty. We had few ST warranties in the past and never filed a claim before. I am planning to go to Small Claims Court. I wanted to know who determined that this was an accident (which is untrue) and how and when? What were the procedures ST have to determine that it was an accident and what was the acceptance criteria? I need more documentation. I am not going to leave this issue. Very upset with the way ST handled my claim.

    I have faulty battery problem with my FitBit HR. I’m supposed to send back my FitBit to get $30 back. $30 doesn’t cover the cost of another reconditioned FitBit. Shipping is $7.50 with USPS.     The ultimate result was acceptable: you gave me my money back because you weren't able to get my protected device fixed. You didn't seem willing to try to get it replaced. I asked for the process to be done via chat or email - so I would have a paper trail because I am disabled, and do NOT function well under pressure - AND YOU SAID IT HAD TO BE DONE BY PHONE. Very stressful.

    The process took, literally, hours of my life. You kept giving me steps to execute which required a lot of work on MY part in this particular case. I understand you have to go through the steps - and tried to have it be reasonable - but the fact is that YOU didn't do the steps that it was implied YOU would do - find a repair place and have me send my device there, or find me a replacement. Instead, all those steps were up to a disabled person - me - and took energy I don't have.

    I would not have bought the device without the protection plan, and I'm glad at least financially I didn't suffer - so THANK YOU VERY MUCH - but the support I would have preferred didn't actually happen: YOU getting my device fixed, or a replacement to ME. Your marketing copy implied what you could not actually provide. The process made it 4* instead of 5* - good, but not great. I will recommend your protection plan, but will mention my caveats.

I made my claim when my device was dismantling by itself and it was like whenever I assembled it, it would fall off and it was too annoying.     While we were trying to put the TV up on the wall, we didn’t screw it in right to the mount so it fell. It was a Smart TV that we purchased from Walmart. We called SquareTrade to see if the warranty would cover that, but it didn’t. Their representatives were very friendly and helpful. They provided all the information that I really needed and they were very sympathetic as well. They understood that stuff happens, but it was out of their jurisdiction. So, they just said that they would refund us the warranty, which I didn't even think was possible.     I purchased two warranties, one for the TV and another for my Samsung Galaxy S9. I sent a claim for the Samsung unit, and at first they said Sam’s Club canceled my SquareTrade warranty. I didn't have a warranty on the phone, although I have paid for some warranty. Then, SquareTrade said that I had one and then said that I did not have one. Sam's Club had to reinstate it, and once it got reinstated and situated, the guy that I talked to was helpful and he could do anything that needed to be done. After we got it taken care of, everything was fine.

    The glass that covers the camera lens was $120 deductible for the phone if it needed to be replaces, so I just ordered a new piece of camera glass for it. It was only $3.98, and I put it in. He also said that if I got it fixed, I should send the receipt and then they would refund if I paid out of pocket up to the deductible. But if it was over that I'd have to pay the deductible. But, I wasn't going to send them the receipt for them to send me back that amount in check. It is going to cost more mailing it out and the time. I could have sent the whole phone out and they would replace the phone, but there was nothing wrong with the phone.

    So I purchased AirPods in Walmart along with a Square Trade warranty. So when the AirPods malfunctioned I sent them in. And I got an email from square trade saying the item is unrepairable. And I hit a Walmart gift card back. They couldn't even provide a replacement! And the gift card only had $144 on it while I paid $160 including the stupid square trade insurance that couldn't even provide a replacement. I'm disappointed to say the least. Now they want me to go purchase new AirPods+pay for insurance that don't even work???? Worst experience ever.

    Trying to file a claim online was unsuccessful. I tried two times. After 4 phone calls, I was able to tell the customer service representative that we purchased a gaming chair at Staples on 9/24/18 for $99.99. We also purchased the 3 year furniture warranty for $9.99. I emailed a copy of the receipt and they located my warranty. I then stated that the wheel broke off the chair and the fabric is peeling off the seat and arm.

    Customer service representative asked me when the wheel broke off and I stated that I was not sure of the correct date. He insisted that I give him a date and I said probably in the later part of 2019. He, therefore made up a date and asked me if that was correct. I said ok. He then stated that he would give me $85.88 for my chair. I stated that I paid $99.99 for the chair. He stated that it didn't break until 2019 so that is what I am entitled to. I said no. He then went on to say that he could send me another chair. I asked which one. He told me that he could not give me that information because he did not know what they would send me. He went on to say that it would be something similar to the chair that I purchased. It would not be brand new it would be refurbished or reupholstered or remanufactured. I told him that was crazy. He then said you should take the money $85.88.

    What kind of nonsense is this. Give me less than what I paid for the chair or take a used refurbished product when I purchased a brand new chair. I told him send me the money because I was frustrated and annoyed with what he was offering me. This process took over 1 1/2 hours from the first phone call. The representative was less than pleasant and extremely forceful with his offers. Very dissatisfied with this company.

    This was a very frustrating experience. We have a chair that broke. The handle will not allow the chair to go up and down. I called Square Trade to put in a claim. After numerous phone calls, as the people taking the claim, did not understand, the phone number for the manufacturer was in another country. Two weeks, and many phone calls later, they finally agreed to have a service person come out and fix the chair. Asked for a picture. We provided that. Within a two days, they told us they cannot fix the chair and will be issuing a refund. The frustration was getting the proper information for the assistance with our claim. Fortunately, when Customer Service finally understood, the manufacturer could not accommodate us, we went forward. Thank you. We got a refund, and bought another chair, the same, and donated the broken one. Hope this helps, please train customer service better.

    The computer quit running and SquareTrade took care of it. I called them and they sent me some information that I had forgotten. They had a record of it and they were able to find me in their system really quick. They sent me a box and I sent the computer in. Then about a week later, I got it back.     I purchased an extended warranty through SquareTrade for the Fitbit Versa I purchased on Amazon in November of 2020. The device quit holding a charge in January 2020 after having swam with it (an activity that is advertised to be able to handle). I began the process of replacing it through SquareTrade on 1/31/2020. The process to file a claim was burdensome to say the least. I had to call a 1-800 # which I was then informed I had to call another 1-800#. When I called that number, they then sent an e-mail where I had to click a link to file a claim. I did that. My claim was promptly denied as the warranty does not cover spills. I had to call and explain that the device failure was due to an advertised feature of the device. At which point the claim was approved for repair NOT replacement.

    I sent the device to them on 2/14/2020 and it was returned a week later due to the charger not being included. That was my fault. The paperwork included with the return indicated that the claim was being closed, but that I could call to re-open the claim when the device was received back. I received the device back on 2/21/2020. I called to re-open the claim on 2/24/2020 when I was notified they could not do anything without the device serial number. This was not a requirement for the first claim. The device cannot be charged to turn it on to get the serial number.

    They stated they would not be able to do anything without the device serial number. I was told to contact Fitbit to get that information. If they are unable to provide that I will need documentation from them stating they cannot provide it. This has been a runaround the entire time. They have wasted my time and energy trying to get a repair or replacement. NEVER AGAIN. I will not have anything to do with this company again. Buyer beware. You might as well not purchase the extended warranty because it's nothing but a waste of time and energy.

    I was not too satisfied until recently when they gave me my refund back. My grandson had a bad experience where he got hurt badly on the product by Fluxx because of an electrical malfunction. I got it a year ago for him, at Christmas, and he got on it. It did all right the first couple of times, but then when he got on it on the third or fourth time, when he wanted to go forward, the device kept wanting to go round and round, so he fell off of it. He was on the pavement, so it was rough. It could have been bad, but it was okay.

    I wrote SquareTrade letters about that and they would not do anything about it. They kept saying the manufacturer still had the warranty on it. But I tried to get in contact with Fluxx and they thought I was trying to buy something from them, so they tried to sell me stuff. So, it was like, “Well, I can’t get nobody to answer me.” I let it ride for a while and then, finally, I got aggravated and went online because I had to file a claim, and SquareTrade went ahead and okay-ed my refund for it. So, that was good. When the time came and they did the right thing. I like the idea of them giving me back a refund so I can purchase either one that is right or something similar. I never had to ship the thing back and pay money to do that, which was what I was most concerned about. But, they didn’t make me do that.

    We have purchased many warranties from SquareTrade, mainly for electronics items. The first time we had the need to actually use a warranty from SquareTrade was for a Linksys EA9300 router, which stopped working approximately one month after the manufacturer's warranty expired. No problem, or so we thought, because we purchased a 4-year extended warranty from SquareTrade. SquareTrade is real good about saying they will replace or repair a faulty item and they also have a five day service guarantee in order to do it (not including shipping time).

    The item was bought through Amazon in November 2018. The router stopped broadcasting wireless signal in January, 2020. Contacted Linksys first, but of course, they would do nothing to support their product. Knowing we had a 4-year extended warranty, we contacted SquareTrade. After buying many items from Amazon and having no trouble returning them when needed, we expected similar treatment from the Warranty Company that Jeff Bezos and Amazon chose to affiliate themselves with. However, when we really learned about SquareTrade, we are simply amazed that Jeff Bezos and Amazon would use a company that is the exact opposite when it comes to customer service.

    SquareTrade offered one solution. They wanted us to bring the router to a local repair shop for repair and pay for the repair. What??? The rep said that they would surely then reimburse us, minus any deductibles of course. The rep would not say how much they would pay for repairs or what the deductible is. So, we are supposed to bring the $200 router in for repairs, which I am sure would be close to $200, if not more, and then try to get SquareTrade to cough up the reimbursement. We said that was not acceptable and the rep said that if we look at the warranty, we would see that it is to SquareTrade’s discretion how to handle any claim. So basically, we are out of luck and take it or leave it.

    Then we started to look into SquareTrade. All you would have to do is look at the SquareTrade (located in San Francisco) reviews on Yelp or the Consumer Affairs site. 1000’s of 1 or 2 star reviews. 1000’s of horror stories. The only higher reviews were from people who changed their review rating after SquareTrade finally did something to make the situation right, but these are far and few between. It seems like SquareTrade is another on of those warranty/insurance companies that incentives their employees to deny claims. They certainly don’t try to help with claims. Make sure you look at the real reviews, not the 2 or 3 fake ones they promote at the top.

    So we are left with a non-working router and a scam warranty company. That will be the last time we buy any electronics through Amazon, or anything that needs a warranty for that matter. So AMAZON BUYERS BEWARE OF SQUARETRADE!!! In fact, it just makes Amazon seem like a sleazy operation using a company like SquareTrade to rip their customers off. So we actually will be trying not to buy anything from AMAZON again and will make our purchases elsewhere in the future.

    With the local repair option, we approve the consumer to have the item locally repaired.     I purchased a laptop protection plan for a used laptop bought on eBay, with the plan costing about 1/4 of the laptop price. About 2 months later, the laptop had a mechanical problem such that it will only start while the charger is plugged in, and it immediately turns off when unplugged. After I checked that the manufacturer's warranty was no longer in effect, and confirming this with SquareTrade, per the terms of my coverage, SquareTrade had a technician confirm the problem with me over the phone.

    I purchased an extended warranty for a laptop. Both times I sent it in for repairs, it took multiple phone calls and several weeks for SquareTrade to process my claims. Took 3 weeks just to send the box for the second claim, and when the computer was finally returned to me it was not functional. Because I assumed they had fixed the problem (silly me?) and had some personal business in the way, the computer stayed in the shipping box quite a while before I found this out; the warranty expired in the meantime and SquareTrade refused to do anything about it, leaving me with a broken computer they'd failed to fix while it was under warranty. I can understand that I left it in the box quite a while, but in light of how long they had taken in the past due to repairs, and that the computer had no reason not to work when I got around to trying it. Your typical heartless 'insurance' company.

    Bought a TV at Sams Club and as usual, a SquareTrade warranty. I figured with TV’s being so ‘computerized,’ it's a necessity.. and why not? A 10% cost for another TV if it breaks... never had to use one before, fist time and holy moly, what a nightmare. The short version (spent over 3 hrs on the phone (on hold, being trf’d, on hold etc and a vacation day). First.. warranty says 5 days in home repair. Day 14, repairman scheduled to show up between 10 and 2 (I took a day off work; not happy with 14 days when I was told 5, but hey, they are on the way to fix). Shows up and can't repair (there was a “blue LED” issue also, thank you repair man from ACS!!) so they chose to not repair at all, OK; I understand, and then was told I may have to ship it (A 65” TV?).

    Called Squaretrade... answer was; "We will have a TV specialist contact you within 2 days by email;" no explanation or answer on the shipping question. Just a diversion to amuse me I guess. Got an email with a link to my new Hisense $399 TV to replace my $999 TV. Another call to SquareTrade.. was told “keep clicking the link in the email, it updates daily, so you can keep checking every day and when a TV comes up you like select it”; Whaaaaaaaat!?!? Supervisor time. Got supervisor.. explained my concern, told him I wish to select my TV as I buy them based on features etc... “So sorry, I will send you a list with comparable TV’s." Who know when or what I will get. Bottom line... Not a good first experience. Will never buy a warranty again unless it states “same exact TV or purchase price.” \Wonder if my iphone dies if I will get offered a flip phone?!?

    Alright so, my Rockford Fosgate 600 watt P3 12in loaded enclosure, (subwoofer) had begun sounding very distorted. I then went on to dismount the 12 inch speaker from its box and found that the adhering from the cone to the spider had became dislodged and therefore creating the distortion. So the speaker worked just fine but was releasing distortion as well due to this factor. So I then filed a claim on the insurance I had purchased through Amazon from a company called SquareTrade.

    About a week later I have an e-mail sent to me stating that “Your item was received and has failed the audit inspection for the following reasons”- “Speaker shows signs of being over driven by extreme outside wattage. The speaker cone/coil is stuck in a locked state, which happens when it’s blown”. First off, how in the world is it in a locked state, when the driver has and still is fully functional and not even slightly stuck? Furthermore how has this speaker being driven by "extreme outside wattage" when I'm running the speaker with the same amp as the factory itself suggests (Rockford Fosgate p500x1bd Punch 500 watt class bd mono amplifier, at 35%)? And this was purchased at the same date from Amazon.

    Now think about this. A 600 watt speaker being over driven by a 500 watt amp being used at 35%... So I give them a call and they say their audit is high experienced and know what they’re doing. Again..?? At the end they state I might, be able to get the amount of the initial warranty. I can’t believe that they really push people to the side with false information like this. I read reviews of this nature about this company from other people and know I’m not alone. I was reading this morning that a lot of people are actually having to through law suits with this company over foul practices. I just want my Speaker or equivalent reimbursement.

    I purchased a Mandolin on Dec 18, 2019 and paid $ 59.98 and also paid for a warranty with Square Trade to cover my purchase. About 1 month after purchase the Mandolin caved in while attempting to tune it. The coverage was to start on 1/17/2020 about 3 weeks or more after the purchase. I attempted to return it but the seller says I should have made a return within 2 weeks and I needed to contact Square Trade about the warranty. I contacted Square Trade and was told that even though my policy was in force I should make claim against the Mfg. Why should I have to make claim with the Mfg, whom I have no idea who the Mfg is as this item came to me from China. I paid for a warranty for two years starting 1/17/2020 but Square Trade says I would need to contact the Mfg about the problem within the 1st year.

    I paid for warranty coverage to start on 1/17/2022 so my first year that I paid for is not covered under the warranty I purchased until after the 1st year. This is a complete rip off. If I was told the warranty would not start until after the 1st year I would not have purchased the warranty and then have to wait a year to make any claims. This is BS. I paid for warranty starting 2 weeks after purchase and should be covered. I paid for nothing the first year. The warranty says it is a 2 year warranty but this not what Square Trade tells you when you buy. Based on Square Trade claim dept I am not covered the 1st year as my warranty date shows. If this is the case I paid for 2 years and only get the benefit for the second year. Do not purchase a Square Trade warranty unless you don't mind not being covered for the first year you paid for. They will tell you to complain to the Mfg.

    I just had to worst experience with them. I have a order of 3 air beds. 2 stopped working after a few days when I had some house guests over. I got those switched out no issues at all. I was sent the gift cards and went and purchased 2 more. My last one I have a friend with a broken leg who woke up on the floor and and ended up messing all over herself because she couldn’t get up. I just wanted to get another one like I did the same way last time but the only this I kept getting told by everyone is to contact the manufacturer like the manufacturer is going to have me walk out the store with an air mattress.     Purchased SquareTrade’s 3 year extended warranty plan for an iWatch, which was to cover electrical and mechanical failures. The glass face of the iwatch began to separate from the watch itself. So we put in a claim with SquareTrade, took all the necessary steps. Found out they were not only not going to replace the screen/watch, but they were dropping the coverage as well. SquareTrade tried to claim it was “physical” damage and not “mechanical” damage. Mind you this watch was only owned for less than a month before the problems occurred and never had physical damage occur to it. I don’t understand how someone can buy this plan to protect their investment, if the company is going to drop your coverage for filing a claim. I would definitely consider twice before giving this “insurance” company your business. BBB has been informed of their deceptive practices.

    So my 250$ bose earbuds were literally ripped in two while I was running, so I have an insurance that is supposed to cover everything. Talked to their CSR through the phone like three times, told them what happened and said I tried to put a tiny glue in it together thinking I can fix it to hold it together temporarily while I send it. He said it was ok as long as I didnt try to send it anywhere to get it fixed. I tried to send it and filed a claim. Asked for an update after 7 days and they told me they cant repair it because I glued it together. Please tell your customers the instances claims cannot be made before asking the to send the item. Second, I talked with one of your specialist and he said it was fine since my insurance covers everything.     I have a JL Audio 13w7AE that I purchased from Amazon & bought their 4 year warranty because I figured it would be a good safety thing just in case anything was to happen to it. I put in for repairs a few times and every time I would put in for the repair they would send me the return packet. So now it had been about two weeks since I sent it in I check my old email because that was my email when I purchased my warranty & it says they are refusing to cover due to "physical internal damage" from being over the watt rating which is impossible.

    I had it professionally installed with a amplifier that is 300 watts under the rms power rating. It just one day blew from a few years of use so they refused to replace due to using the item as it is intended. The person I spoke to on the chats tried to lie & tell me it was due to water damage, I said there was no mention of that in the email. He kept telling me it was due to water damage. 15 mins later I get an email stating he was mistaken. It had no water.

    After I requested pictures he assured me that they had proving it was the issue. I emailed back saying to, "As I stated in my chat you were lying"...no answer. I call in today & they are sticking to the same script saying it was overdriven, so they don't cover that. Which is funny since they say they cover mechanical & electrical problems. I would just like them to do the right thing & cover the subwoofer. Whether you want to replace or compensate me thank you. For all the consumers beware. Save your money. They won't cover your issues. They will just try to make you go away.

    Bought Vizio LED TV from Sam's Club with 5 year extended warranty. Tv stopped working in year 3. Filed claim. With SquareTrade and went through 2 week process to ship them Tv to repair. 8 days later received T.v. back saying roach infected and warranty is void. Opened tv and checked shipping box and found no sign of insect. Called square trade and was told they had pictures of insect infestation so I requested the pictures. 2 days later was told there were no pictures and unit was immediately ship back up and shipped back to me. If true why did I not find anything inside tv or shipping box. Where did the roaches go and where are pictures they claimed they had. No proof of their claim of infestation. Just bull to not to honor a warranty. To add insult to injury they cancelled 5 year warranty in year 3 without compensation for last year's. Never buy this company's warranty on anything. They lie about your claim denial without any proof of their reason.

    I called SquareTrade. I was in need of screen replacement which they approved. They gave me a repair shop called Irepair. I couldn't ever reach them. I called square trade they said take it to dealer of my choice so I called Batteries Plus. They gave me a price of 246.00. I then called back to square trade. Gave them the price quote of 246.00. I was told that I could take it to them. Pay for the repair then sent me instructions to be reimburse minus 29.00 deductible. I thought that it was a little pricey but again they assured me that I would be reimbursed total amount minus 29.00.

    So after repair I called because the receipt was not itemized that I was uploading so I returned to batteries plus. Explain situation. They called square trade. After the employee spoke with them he handed the phone to me and the person said that they could only give me 199.00 because that's what the phone was worth. How is that's my fault when I was told by square trade at least twice after knowing the price of repair 246.00 and was assured of being reimbursed. Now they only sent me a check for 170.00 so I am out of 76.00 when I was only suppose to be out of 29.00. Not fair at all. Not my fault. Your mistake has cost me money.

    I dropped my HP Envy laptop about 16 months into my two year warranty. It caused damage to the metal around the screen at the top corner and caused the bottom corner to dent and come apart at the seams. SquareTrade approved a repair and I shipped it to them. This is my laptop I use for work, literally my livelihood. I was without it for a week. Luckily one of my friends let me borrow one of theirs while mine was being repaired. I received the “repaired” laptop today and the repair is a joke. They did not replace anything. It looks like maybe they squeezed some pliers to try to close the seam opening but did a very poor job. There is still a significant opening at the seam. It is still dented at the top and bottom. I am very disappointed in this repair.

    Purchased an iPhone 7 and a 2 Year Square trade warranty in August 2018. The phone stopped working. Called Square Trade they told us where to take it. Spent the whole day driving out to one repair shop then to a second. The second repair shop said they could fix it but square trade said it was too expensive and they want us to mail it to them. We did. Less than six months later the phone stopped working again. Once again we were asked to mail it in and another was sent. It wasn’t six months later the phone stopped working. Today we called. They said they are not going to repair it because the contract is up. By my calculations two years ends in August 2020.

    After speaking to five different people during two separate phone calls, Their decision is the phone had cost too much to repair in the past and those charges cannot exceed the original purchase of the phone. I am not sure who decides how much the phone cost to repair. But we were told 3 different stories. First they weren’t going to cover it because there had been four claims on it. That was not true. There were two.

    Then we were told that there had been two charges to repair it, one for $39 and the other 198. That is a total of $237. Original purchase was 358. Hence phone call number two. At which time I was told that the amount quoted originally was wrong and the total repair cost had been $420.71. They now say the two-year warranty is really a limited warranty. He quoted a line in article 7 of the contract which you don’t get when you buy it. This probably is in the small print somewhere but it is advertised as a two-year warranty. I was very happy when they fixed the first phone. I was a little concerned when they had to replace that phone less than six months later and today I am outraged that the phone they replaced it does not work and they will not stand behind their warranty. I wish I had read a review like this before purchasing this warranty.

    I purchased the warranty with my TV 11 months ago. The TV stopped working so I went to my file cabinet and pulled out the receipt with the warranty brochure I was given at the store. I filed a claim and was told I would have to deal with the store. Of course the store sent me back to deal with SquareTrade total runaround as usual. The company must train their employees to frustrate consumers long enough that they just give up.

    Square Trade is the worst. Do not buy a warranty through them. They will not honor your tv warranty. I bought a Samsung smart tv through Costco and the video doesn’t keep playing. After a couple of minutes the video goes black. Called to get the warranty company to fix it. They wanted to give me a streaming device for a SMART TV. Why would I need a streaming device for a $1000 tv? The work around they said. Do not go through square trade.

They claim they found no defaults in the system company's like this are always avoiding warranty's specially because this system is 750.00 before taxes....     I got a three years protection plan from SquareTrade for a 55-inch ION television. It was for my son and I got it Black Friday. I took it out of the box to hide it and right before Christmas, I hooked it up just to surprise him on Christmas. When I plugged it in, everything worked, but I had to select the options at the beginning such as the network and the language. All it was doing was just scrolling through and it wasn’t allowing me to select anything. I tried to take it back to the store, but they wouldn’t allow me simply because I didn’t have the box, so I had to file the claim. Their claims process wasn’t that good because the facility to get it repaired is an hour and 30 minutes away .

    Their customer service kept asking the questions over and over if I damaged or dropped it. That was why I did the videos and I provided a lot of pictures, and it was obvious that there was something wrong with it. I said, “It still had the paper on it. I just threw away the box so my son won’t see it." And then, they asked me why I did not plug in the TV after I took it out the box. I said, “It was something that I didn’t think. Moving forward, I know to keep the box, but I just assumed everything would have been fine because it was under 30 days." It was a brand-new TV and I could have taken it back to the store, but I went on the 29th day, and the store couldn’t take it back because they didn't have that television in the store and I didn’t have the box. I took a picture of the serial code on the box, but they needed the box. I showed them all the proof that I have. The only thing I was left with was to take it to the company and get it fixed.

    They would not give me an option. I stayed talking with adjusters for three weeks back and forth, and I got an appointment last week. It was taking them so long to get back with me as far as information. I said, “Can I just get a refund and get another TV or can you all send me something?” They told me the only thing that I could do was either keep it as is or I would have to take it to that facility. I couldn’t do anything else so I took it to the facility and they fixed the TV, and it’s doing fine now. But it was such an inconvenience to have to drive an hour and a half forth, and then a hour and a half back just to get a television that doesn’t even work. I could have just not gotten the SquareTrade and did it on my own or went to a company that was in my town. Because having to drive to that town and back, that’s gas and time of waiting. A year ago, they’d bring somebody to your house to either fix it or refund you with a new television. But now, it has changed.

    I phoned SquareTrade to file a claim for a tablet and spoke to a representative. The rep stated he'd send me an email to file a claim and then hung up. The link in the email went to https://www.squaretrade.com/web-app/registration/launch. There I was asked to click where I’d purchased the plan and next to type my email address. I was then told to go to my email for a claims link but nothing ever arrived. So I called SquareTrade back and the same process happened again. Next I tried the online chat but that was canceled as I was typing!

    Finally, I clicked a link to file a claim on SquareTrade's website. It also sent me to the above web page where I was asked where I purchased my plan and for my email address, then it says to check my email. Nothing ever comes to my email to file an ACTUAL claim. It's a circular process leading to nothing! I feel like this insurance is a scam. Why can’t they just give me the claims website so I can begin the claims process?! By the way, there was nothing in my email's junk/spam folder either.

    I submitted my claim 15 days ago, with receipts (speakerphone went out on my S9+). Checked yesterday to see why I hadn't yet been reimbursed and it said "claim closed". AFTER I submitted a claim for the repairs I already had done, they wanted me to do a "factory reset" on my phone. No... just mindless nonsense. My phone works perfect now. Apparently, they floundered and lost not only my repair receipt, but the receipt for the phone itself. I submitted both yesterday amid 3 phone calls to customer service. Overnight I rcvd several emails from S.T. stating that my claim was incomplete, so I resubmitted my receipts and called to follow up.

    The CS rep confirmed that everything was rcvd and we were good to go. Later today (you can see where this is going) I rcvd another email. Called CS and the rep I spoke with had no record of my previous conversations. Started over from scratch, repeating myself over and over as she babbled off rhetorical written protocols. Submitted documents AGAIN, while she was on the phone with me. Again, after another hour, was assured we were good to go. Got an email tonight. Guess what it said! Yep, just submitted docs again. I've wasted 4 hours trying to resolve an $89 claim. Utterly livid...

    When I have sent my Vizio soundbar to fix the speakers as they were not working. Square Trade never fixed the issue and never gave the remote control of the product to me back and they lost it. When I called regarding this customer representative and their supervisor were very rude and didn't answer me properly and left the product without remote. I have to give 1 star for this because that's the least of it. I will never suggest people to buy or use this insurance. Worst service and worst customer representatives.

    We have a 2.5 year old Hitachi tv that had vertical lines appear on the screen. SquareTrade gave us a 3 day run around saying they couldn't read the receipt and told us to go to Sam's to reprint it (from 2017!). We argued and finally got to speak with a tv technician specialist (so they say). He had us send pics of the screen which we did. We received an immediate response that the screen was cracked which voided the warranty. This is ridiculous, it doesn't get touched or moved and there is no crack! We will pursue this with Sam's Corporate and the BBB. It was a 4 year extended warranty and they won't even attempt to help us. Outsourced overseas and horrible attitude and service.

    The first time I called, they told me they sent the replacement phone. I gave them a little bit of time because it was right around New Year's. I called back about a week later, and they told me that it was being processed and being shipped out. I called again and they said they would call me within 24 hours and tell me if they were gonna send me the money or if they were gonna give me the phone. They called and said they were gonna give me a check instead. They said for my replacement, I will get the LG Vu 4. But instead of that, I got $69 back. So I pretty much got screwed out of a phone. So now, I'm using a tablet and it's harder to use it for work.

    I kept getting the runaround from everybody. One person that I talked to was nice, but the other one was rude. I've done customer service and it's not very fun when you're getting rude people. But when you tell someone you're gonna do something and you don't do it, it frustrates people. This the first time I ever used it, and I don't think I'd use it again.

    I bought a television refurbished so I made sure to get Squaretrade's protection plan to supplement the return policy. Lo-and-behold 131 days later the item totally dies. TCL and Walmart would not cover it so I went to SquareTrade. It took a couple emails but I finally got a callback. The rep was extremely kind (as are most of the reps I have spoken with), and told me that the claim would be honored and that I would be receiving an equivalent set via a link email. I checked the email and all of the Tvs displayed were far inferior to my set. Even at the refurbished price these televisions were $100 -$150 less than what I paid. Not even retail, just what I actually paid. I emailed SquareTrade telling them this twice then called them the next day. The rep told me to wait until the next day and keep checking. I still got the same results through the link.

    The next day I called back and was on hold for an hour until I hung up. Calling again got an error and hangup. So I waited till a couple hours later called back again and they said that they were manually locating me an equivalent television and to hold off for 24 hours. 2 hours later they emailed me saying they would just send a check. The amount was not disclosed so I called again today to find out that I had lost the money I spent on the plan as well as the money I spent on tax.

    The whole process was exhausting and took days of calling and emailing and going between different companies for me to only lose a lot of money as an end result. I learned my lesson not to by refurbs, (I believe they shouldn't legally be allowed to be sold as well) and now I am have to get another Tv. And in my new search I look at the SquareTrade protection and think that it is just a waste on a new product because no matter what you will lose a lot of money.

    My daughter dropped the phone, stepped on it, and it got wet. I did have a tracking device on it, but the battery went dead, so it no longer picked up on that. I tried to take it to a local shop to get it fixed, but they were unable to order a new screen for it because, apparently, Samsung, I guess it was, didn’t provide that particular screen for that particular phone to the repair shop. So, I sent it back to SquareTrade. I was provided with the label. They sent me a different phone, which I got immediately. I didn’t even have to wait for them to receive the old one. So, that was nice.

    The total process took five days. It was a very satisfying process. I was very impressed. I just bought an LG TV, and I’ve got SquareTrade on it as well as on another TV that I bought. I’m glad that I’ve got SquareTrade. I haven’t hesitated to get extra protection on my electronics anymore. I used to think it was a waste of money, but I’ve been paying extra lately just to have stuff covered.

    I bought a jewelry item and I was offered to place SquareTrade insurance on it so I did. When the item was scratched and damaged, I had to file a claim. It was a little bit hard to find my account because I wasn't aware I had to register the account. The time that you purchase the insurance, you should be aware that you have to register the actual item in SquareTrade because I didn't know how it works until I had to really look into it. But we were able to locate my account and then the customer service agent helped me out through my process. Instead of replacing the item, they refunded some of the money that I spent on the item.

    When I purchased my iPhone X, I also purchased Square Trade warranty since it was an Allstate Brand. Few days back there was some sort of electrical failure and square trade got my mobile fixed. I am really happy with the customer service they provide. They will pick up the call in the first ring and will go over entire process very swiftly. Thank you very much.     I will never opt for a Square Trade warranty again and will shop differently as a result. I purchased their warranty on a phone we purchased on eBay. After a week of back and forth emails, calls, running to the Iphone store over an hour away to get proof that it doesn't fall under Manufacturer warranty, they are now saying it was accidental. My daughter woke up one morning to find her phone with a thick line on the iPhone display running vertically. It was charging the night prior, never dropped, no scratches, etc. In FLAWLESS condition otherwise. How is that accidental? To add insult, they are using a foreign company for customer service that you have to deal with a dialect and can't escalate your call. I'm told I'll hear from a manager. I highly doubt it.

    Sent off a DVR from a security camera because the fan was intermittently working & overheating. The process was easy. Print a label, pack the items, & ship it. We got the DVR back in about a week with the paperwork attached to it saying the "Electrical Fan Replaced." Just looking at the fan it was not replaced. Called Squaretrade & they could not tell me if the fan was replaced or not. All she could tell me was to plug it in and see if it was working. She told me if I had a problem, to call them back but could not tell me anything about my repairs. Complete waste of time & money! Better off just buying another one.

    I purchased a refurbished Ipad Pro 12.9 (second generation) through Walmart, purchased the Square Trade protection offered and after 3 months my Ipad became non-responsive to touch. I notified square trade and was told that I needed to update and reset the device then reinstall the operating system which I did. I contacted square trade again and was told now to have Apple diagnose or fix and they would reimburse my expense. I worked directly with Apple and after more testing I was given the green light to take the Ipad into an Apple certified tech. center. More testing revealed that the Ipad was defective and needed replacement!

    Armed with the proof in the form of paperwork, I was told by square trade that once the documents were uploaded I would have the remedy in 24 hours. I called square trade back 24 hours later and was told that although Apple confirmed the device was defective there would be more testing! I have now been asked to ship the item back so another tech. can waste more time to discover what we already know, I could not wait anymore so I purchased a brand new Ipad 12.9 pro and have learned two valuable lessons, first don't buy refurbished devices and second don't be fooled with the guarantee of worry free protection square trade offers, I have never had to jump through so many hoops.

    A plan was purchased and I had to jump through hoops to get it taken care of. Once it was sent back for the THIRD TIME, they tried to tell me they wanted to repair it again. Keep in mind that the receipt sent to me said the device was repaired but in the additional comments it said "no problem detected with the item." So when I asked them what exactly was repaired if there was no problem detected, no one could tell me. So they have had my iPod back and forth since December and we are half way through January and still no working iPod has been sent to me. I was told it would be replaced after I sent it back the third time. They have yet to honor this. So save your money and don't buy a used iPod from eBay and then an extended warranty through SquareTrade. All you will be doing is wasting your money.
