    I am extremely frustrated with my experience so far. After submitting a claim request for a TV repair, I was contacted by phone by SquareTrade for a pre appointment check which was very professional. However, the follow up in-person appointment had a 5 HOUR window and the repair technician DID NOT SHOW UP! I contacted Squaretrade who appears to be handling this on behalf of Allstate and I still have not gotten any definitive response after several days besides that they are trying to contact the technician.

    My most recent claim with Allstate was for my laptop. The laptop was purchased from Walmart. It was slow, not turning on, not following through with commands, and the cursor board wasn't responding. The claim process didn't go well. I tried to call to register the product and they said to do it online. But then, the online loop just circles you around and it never allows you to input any information on the product. I had to get online tech support to help. I had to give that person all of the information for them to register the product, which really presented as a tactic to not get the product registered and to not have any claims against it. Other than that, it shouldn't have been where I needed to get some assistance to do something so simple as to upload two sets of numbers.

    I bought a 75" TV and pad for protection plan because I spent so much money on the TV wanted to protect my investment. The edging was always iffy. It was loose especially on the side that just became a huge issue. The TV got loose from edging and popped out. A white line on the TV screen appeared. I showed my husband and he saw that the TV screen was not in the edging. He tried to pop it back in and the whole screen shattered. I filed a claim. It was rejected. Called number provided? Out of service. Tried to file a new claim said I am not able to and to call - please remember line is not in service. No agent available. No call. No email address to contact. I am pissed and feel ripped off. I also did not get an email on rejected claim. RIPOFF.

    I purchased a protection plan for my Bose QC2 earbuds. The third day I had the thing, I dropped it. I was walking along the tile floor and the case lid broke off. Part of the plan included accidental drops and spills. I filed a claim and it was approved. They said, “Send in your earbuds along with the case.” So I did and I got an email back saying, ‘We can't repair your item. We're sending you a check for the full amount.” I was disappointed because it was the lid that broke. The earbuds were fine. The earbuds themselves cost about $300, but the company sells a replacement case for 100 bucks. I thought that Allstate would have said, “You can get a new case and send it back, and we've saved the company a bunch of dollars.” But instead, they cut me a check for 300 bucks. The turnaround was less than a week. It was really nice but I just really wanted a replacement case.

    I'm not happy at all with Allstate. They are supposed to be covering my warranty on my couch and loveseat. When I contacted them and told them that the stitching is coming out of the one arm on the chair on the loveseat, they were not happy. They were rude and informed me that because it's still under factory warranty, that Allstate doesn't kick in until a year after, and for me to contact the store. It just wasn't in a nice fashion and then they closed my claim. When I contacted Big Lots, I was told that I have to return the couch in order to have it fixed or repaired or replaced at my cost.

    I have two claims with Allstate. One was a lawn mower and one was a Dyson vacuum cleaner. The mower just wouldn't start. As for the vacuum, it wouldn't stay running. It was a battery vacuum and after about two minutes, it would shut off. I called Allstate and it was difficult to get through. They ran me through a bunch of things. I had to take a picture of the receipt and send them to it. It took a good 40 minutes to get the claim processed and finally talk to somebody. That was pretty much the experience for both claims and that wasn't enjoyable. Had it been 15 minutes with a call, that would have been fine. They wanted me to do it online and I have not found that to be incredibly helpful in the past. I like talking to a human being so that was challenging with Allstate.

    Overall, it wasn't the worst experience but it wasn't where it needs to be with customer service. Customer service in the last couple years has gone way down no matter who I call. It just seems like I can't get anybody on the phone. In the end, my vacuum cleaner is on its way back and Allstate supposedly fixed it. As for my mower, they said it wasn't something that was covered. It was a clogged carburetor and my gas was bad. I can understand that.

    My experience with them went very well. The customer service was good and I appreciated that and their follow-through. The last time I contacted them, there was an issue with the charger or the port on the computer of my daughter. They told me the quickest way was to buy a charger and if it works, they'll reimburse me the money. The check came pretty quickly. The service was worth it.     Whenever I'm playing a game, my XBox would stop reading the disc. The problem has been progressively getting worse to the point where it shuts down the Xbox. I tried to do the claim online but the system was not giving me the option I needed. Once I called in, I had no problem. The rep I spoke with was good. Allstate is a good insurance.     For the past 2 months this company has been giving me the run around. I have giving them all they had asked for. My tv started out with a line on the bottom of the tv. They asked for pictures and videos. The csr barely speak English. They do mainly all of the communication via email. I kept asking for someone to call me they will not. Every time I will call they treated me like it was the first time I was calling they kept asking for more pictures and more videos I have emails to prove all of this. Finally my tv stopped working they wanted to do a diagnostic on a non working tv, they wanted more videos with the tv on.

    After I told them and showed them the tv doesn’t work. The tv is mounted has been since I bought it. No small children or animals in the house. I am barely home. At this point I had enough. I kept asking what else do you want. Since I was rude to them they decided that I self inflicted a physical damage to the tv and they aren’t paying me for a new tv. I called a lawyer today to sued them for wasting my time and the aggravation they put me thru for 2 months. Never ever buy this warranty protection again. You will avoid the frustration and time wasted. Is not like they going to cover you for anything. They had no issue taking my money when I bought the warranty but had a lot of issues paying up.

    Updated on 10/12/2022: I wrote a review on 10/6/22 regarding poor service from this company. The next day I received a note that someone would contact me regarding the problem. Today 10/11 I received an email stating they tried to verify my repair receipt but the phone number was invalid. Turns out they called someplace called Fix4Less....I never heard of this company before. I promptly resubmitted all my documents again for the 4th time. Allstate is terrible and I will never purchase a Allstate-SquareTrade protection for any of my electronics again! Be aware.

    Original Review: My HP All in one PC needed repairs. I asked for a local company to do the repairs instead of shipping it across the country. When I submitted my repair receipt for reimbursement, they wrote back that the receipt appears altered.... I don't know why, it's clear has a date and the name of the company. Now when I write to the Square Trade I can't get an answer as to why it was rejected. Each time I get a reply it's from someone who states the basics of how to get a repair. I chatted with a rep and that person can't find a record. He gave me a phone number to call but can only get a message to use the website. Terrible website, terrible customer service.     They approved my claims, sent me e-gift cards and when I went to the store, the gift cards did not work. How embarrassing. When I contacted them, twice, because no one responded after the first agent said they would refer the matter higher, they sent me an email asking for my receipts, pictures and other things I no longer had because my claim was approved.

    I let them know that after the approval, I got rid of the items and that my receipt was of course on their website, it’s how I filed the claim. I told them I expected they would reissue new gift cards. They sent me back the exact same email I received the first time, word for word, asking for my receipt and pictures of the item. They are probably not going to handle this. And I’m not happy because I have a lot of warranties through them, but I’m pretty sure I won’t be doing that in the future.

    This place is a racket. They seem to do whatever they can to avoid remitting payment on their protection plans. I purchased a protection plan for an expressomaker. The product needed repair after the expiration of the factory warranty period and while the protection plan was active. They indicated that I needed to find (my time and effort) a 'local repair center' to repair the item, and I would be reimbursed 'within one business day' after submitting my repair receipt. It has now been over a month, and I still have not received reimbursement in spite of contacting SquareTrade over 7 times. The latest excuse is that the repair needed to be 'verified', even though I provided a receipt (showing my payment of the charge to the repair shop). Life is too short to deal with untrustworthy businesses.

    Bought a rug at NFM along with a $750 Allstate Protection plan. A month after delivery, the dog had an accident and stained the rug. We called Allstate, they sent a cleaner which we tried to no avail. They sent a professional cleaner who stated it could not be cleaned. Allstate has no denied the claim. Been at this for 7 weeks and nothing but the run around. Next step is to file a grievance with BBB and NFM and then we plan to cancel our Homeowners insurance with said company. Absolutely cannot recommend this company and those retailers who offer them up should move toward a new benefit.

On the website, it is stated most repairs completed in 2-5 bus days. We record the repaired laptop 8/26, so it took a few more than 5 bus days to fix, but all in all, very timely. My biggest complaint is there is little communication after email saying they received the laptop. There is no customer service phone number provided. You must chat with a bot, then an assumed person. Sometimes frustratingly.

    I'll keep it short - I have a certified refurbished laptop purchased from eBay in January of this year. It has an Allstate Protection Plan through January of 2024. One of the USB ports broke and I cannot use it, so I had to send it in for repair. I was told 2-5 days after they received it I should expect it back. They've had it 4 days now - and I've been without it for 6. No update from them beyond that they'd received it 4 days ago. I chat today and I'm told they need parts to repair and they won't arrive until Aug 29. If it takes 2-5 days to repair at that time I can expect it back somewhere around Sept 2-6, which will mean I'll have been without it for 2 1/2-3 weeks. This is my laptop, which I use for work and personal stuff every day. That's unacceptable - they need to stock adequate replacement parts, replacement units, or pay for a replacement. It's not complicated. Buyer beware.

    I kept submitting the receipts. I kept sending emails. I never got answers back from Allstate. It was dragged a long time. It was a repair. It's a warranty but I don’t know if it’s a replacement. Allstate just told me to take it in. They said if it wasn’t under 256, not to get a repair, but if it was under 256, get a repair. So they did a test on it and said that both of my AirPods were burned out. And the test came out negative so they suggested that it needed replacement.

    I called Allstate and told them what was going on. They said, “You need to submit this and then you have to pay from your pocket and we'll get back to you.” And I paid from my pocket. I submitted everything. And that same day that I went there, they replaced my AirPods and took the other one back. I started submitting receipts from that point on. They kept saying that they couldn't read them. They couldn’t open them. I called back again. I waited for almost a week and the lady told me that they couldn't open it. I asked, ‘When were you guys gonna let me know?” And she said, “Somebody was supposed to reach.” I said nobody reached out to me.” I asked to what email do I send it to. She said, “The same email they sent you, the first one.”

    I said, “Ma'am, can you send me an email so I can send attachments, send it to you, and see if you can open it up and see it before we hang up?” She said it would take 15 minutes and she couldn’t be on the line with me. So I said, “Fine. No problem.” She sent me the email. It took one second to get the email from her while I was talking to her on the phone. I resubmitted. At the same time, I asked her if she received it. She said, “I can’t look at that right now. It takes about 15 minutes.” I sent her four to six times that day. And later on, the person emailed me and says, “We can’t open it.” That was about it. So I said, “I submitted six different times. Can you open any of them?” I didn't get an answer again.

    I waited about for five days, yet still, nobody answered me. After that, I called again and the lady said, “We can’t open it.” I said, “We have a problem because I have submitted it six different ways and nobody's called me and let know or emailed me.” And she said, “We can't open it.” I’m done. I got upset. Told her I needed to talk to a manager. They sent me to a supervisor. She was a very nice lady and I explained to her just like I explained it here. She went in there, opened it up and said, “You know what? I'm able to see one and I have no problem with it. I will submit your claim right now and send you a check within five to seven business days.” I said, “Okay. No problem.” Once we did that, she said, "Anything else I can help you?” I said, “No, that’s about it.” I got the check five days later after talking to her.

    Allstate used to be SquareTrade and I've had a lot of SquareTrade policies over the years. I'm really happy with them every time I get them. I used Allstate when the screen of my Dell XPS 13 was damaged. They needed to replace that, which they did and everything looks great. They rummaged the system, which was a known thing to do. But what they did is they left it in a state of the first name of the owner instead of leaving it in a default Windows start to login thing, where you can build your own private profile.

    Going forward, I suggest that instead of leaving it just an owner if you're going to rummage it, leave it in a state where the customer can go through and set up their own login again. Other than that, everything looked good when we got the computer back. I'm happy with the claim. Allstate was good to use. The process took a week overall. It was two days for them to get the computer, two days for them to ship it back, and a couple of days to fix it.

    I called Allstate and a representative asked some questions. They tried to do some troubleshooting such as listening for the sounds and unplugging and replugging the washing machine. I bought another warranty with Allstate for my new washing machine.

    Electronics sometimes don't work and I've had the experience of them going out. Having insurance is good. You're investing in what you're purchasing. It's extending the warranty even though it already came with the warranty. Luckily for me, I was still within the timeframe to get the help that I did when I did a claim for my TV. It really worked out.

    My TV wasn't working and was having issues updating. It just turned on and on by itself. It would have the apps on there but it wouldn't let you use them. It just kept getting frozen. We kept trying to update it and go through the download process, but it just wouldn't do anything. I did a claim and the process went well. The technicians were great. They tried to troubleshoot and then tried to fix the TV, but it wasn't repairable. Allstate did a refund based on the age of the TV.

    Allstate went above and beyond to try to make sure that I either get the replacement or get the refund. I was happy with it. It was great to use the money that it cost me to pay for the warranty because sometimes you never use it or you may even forget you have it then you lose out. You then have to spend another $200 or $300 on the TV. But Allstate really worked out and I was happy with saving money.

    When it comes to electronics, having a protection plan is very important. The first time we used Allstate was really good. We submitted everything and they tried to get somebody to fix the TV but it wasn't fixable. So, they ended up sending us a check for the replacement. That was years ago, when they first started coming out with the flat screens. This last claim we had was for a kids' ride-on and it was a bit harder ‘cause it was an item that they deemed repairable and it isn't.     I bought a Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy A03s and the day after I purchased the phone, it fell out my hand and cracked. During the initial claim process, the reps told me they were gonna send the stuff on email. The lady didn't make it clear how the claim would be done through email. Also, the phone was working when they gave me information for the email but my screen went out completely so I couldn't see the email anymore. I called them back and they were gonna send me an envelope to put the phone in. They're gonna ship it to me and I'm gonna ship it back to them.

    They said the process is gonna take 7 to 10 days. I told them no it would be too long because I had already been out of a phone for a week and a half. The first time, they just reset the operating system, and it took 10 days to get that done. Now, they’re gonna do a repair and they emailed me a shipping label, but we'll have to wait another 10 days to get the thing done when they could have done it the first time.     I had an electronic device that broke due to an accident. It was a little frustrating at first because Allstate told me to get ahold of Microsoft because it was a Microsoft product and that it should be covered through their warranty, and then to send this and do this. I was like, "Is there any way around that?" I was told, "No. And if those aren't acceptable, then we won't help you."

    I called back because Microsoft said no, and explained to Allstate the situation. The guy said the first person I had talked to should have told me my options.     The printer started paper jamming and all I could get was black. The red, blue, and yellow were completely gone. I called Allstate to file a claim and it took me three calls to find somebody who could help me in the way I needed to be helped. Then, they said they were going to mail me a full refund. They said they're gonna send me a check but online would have been so much better. Also, I recently moved and my old address was officially a business address because I was the manager of a yoga studio. The post office does not forward from business addresses so I haven't received it yet. I had to get a PO Box and I've checked with the yoga studio once or twice a week and I haven't seen that check. Another critique I have is anytime they send someone an email about their policy, they should not include just the number, include the item.

    My kid dropped the Chromebook and you couldn't see anything come on the screen. Submitting the claim was easy because the information was already there after I used something from the receipt from Costco. Once I identified the computer, everything else was pretty straightforward. They came back and gave an approval or disapproval message. They then gave me a shipping label to ship the Chromebook off. They said they would communicate with me on what's wrong and the timeline would be a week or so. But I need to send it in still.

    Purchased oven from NFM and we purchased a warranty plan. Burner failed and a claim was submitted. We were told to pay for the claim and then submit the invoice with receipt showing paid. The audit team actually sent an email indicating that we must submit a valid invoice. The paid invoice was from a company in Dallas Texas who has done business for over 40 years. Had to file a BBB complaint, then was told we would receive the check within 5 business day, (June 29), and as of today (10 days) no check. Refiling BBB complaint. THIS IS THE WORST WARRANTY COMPANY EVER. THIS WAS SOLD FROM NEBRASKA FURNITURE MART.

    Dealing with customer service is frustrating not only that it takes them a long time to find a claim or account but that you have to repeat yourself every time you call. On June 23 I was authorized to buy a phone at an Apple Store I called twice one before going to the store to make sure the store was approved and they say yes to make sure I buy an auto warranty phone. I got to the store and the Apple store in Schaumburg Illinois had no idea what I was saying about it out of warranty phone. They only sell new phones.

    I called again SquareTrade customer service. Was put on hold. I advised him that I was at the Apple store and they do not have auto warranty phones if I could purchase a phone and they approved as long as the cost was below the approved amount of $1499. Since the cost was below that the reps said it’s okay. Now I get an email that it has been denied. When I called customer service I was advised by a supervisor Sean that it was declined because it should’ve been out of warranty. Now he has escalated this to the concerned team So they can review the calls on that day when I got the approval.

    Going through this process has been very painful and difficult I have not sure why AllState backs SquareTrade and how they do business. Now I’m at risk of losing the money and they will take up to two business days for me to get another email with the resolution. I am very disappointed of how my claim has been handled and how difficult your system is to file claims. I do hope that your customer service department has the right thing and he’s able to verify the multiple calls I made on that day prior to buying the replacement phone.

    The dealer told me that this plan will cover "wheel replacement, no questions asked, even for curb damage" or anything similar. We had road debris that went through the tire, out the sidewall, and damaged the wheel on a new 2022 SUV. Took it to the dealer and they put on a new tire, but said that I'd have to have the wheel taken to a repair shop for repair and repainting and polishing. Allstate only replaces wheels that are damaged "beyond repair" - beware!

When I put the claim, they told me they will send me a voucher for the shipping. I waited a long time and every time they'd send me an email, they told me, “You can't open it from your phone.     I purchased a Tv from Amazon and got a 4 year plan from SquareTrade to cover it. The Tv went bad 2 1/2 years later and the plan was to cover a replacement or refund the BASE purchase price. I paid $430 and the base cost was 377.99 for the Tv. Everything was moving along and was informed that I would be receiving my check via post. I was disappointed that I was out a Tv, but happy to get the base cost back to buy a replacement. The check came in for a prorated amount because "It was a used product and to save me the shipping cost " as said by Billy the customer service rep. via chat. That is total nonsense and a lie. There was no mention of a prorated amount in my previous discussions and was specifically asked to provide a base cost as that would be the amount refunded.

    I feel like I'm being given the run around. Representative Billy informed me that he and his team are not equipped to assist customers with these matters and gave me a number to call. In true "BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE" fashion the department that handles Tv claims is closed. I was told to call again tomorrow. Why would a customer service rep tell me to call now when they know what hours that department operates at?! At the very least inform the customer of the department times.

    Very disappointed in the communication. Technician was sent out and was told that repair material would be ordered. Also received an email from AllState stating that the repair parts had been ordered and I would be notified when the next appointment would be scheduled. I waited about 3 weeks and no contact. I contacted Allstate and at that point was told that the parts were not being ordered and the fridge would not be repaired. I was told it was not covered and that we would need to take care of the issue. I then waited another few weeks and called about another issue with the fridge and the representative kept going back to the original issue and repeating that they could not help me.

    I finally asked to speak with a supervisor. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes. I think they were hoping that I would hang up. When a supervisor finally came to the phone she again started quoting the previous notes and kept interrupting as I tried to explain. At that point I got upset and demanded that she be quiet and at least listen to me. After I calmly explained AGAIN what the issues were she said that she would have to discuss this and get back to me. I received a call back and was told that they would send another technician out and order the needed repair items. This was the most frustrating time that I have ever had with a protection plan. Actually don't recommend it.

    Submitting my most recent claim to Allstate for the modem was super easy. It was great to be able to log on, and within a matter of clicks and a few sentences, explain what had gone wrong and what we had already tried to do. It was painless, so I really appreciated that. They just sent a check for the modem because it was dead. I’d put all the information in, and they cut a check that night. It was very quick. It wasn't super expensive, so I imagine trying to have a tech fix it and it was definitely outside of the manufacturer's warranty. So, it was well worth it. Allstate can't be much better than that. It was an easy and painless experience.

    The issue was a microwave that stopped working. It wouldn't come on at all. I went back to my app, and I pulled the receipt from my purchase history in my Walmart app. It was easy. I did it online. I got a gift card because I needed a new microwave. And I went and got another microwave in the next day. Everything was fine. I just have to do my part and make sure I have access to the receipt. Knowing my receipt will fade out, and I don't make a copy of it and keep it on file, make sure I got access. If I do my part, Allstate does their part.

    I recommend Allstate to friends. I try to tell them, “Make sure you get the coverage when you buy electrical anything. From computer, microwave, fridge, whatever you buy from Walmart or Sam's or what have you, add the coverage.” The past experience had been with a laptop and I didn't get it. It gave out after a couple of years. And I could remember the person in the store asking me about it and saying, “It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.” She was so right. I am very satisfied.

    I use Allstate for all sorts of things. The service is great. It works fantastic. There's barely ever any questions asked. I've only ever had to fight with them once and that was because I bought some generic Google box, and it didn't have a serial number on it. I was confused on why I had to give that information when it didn't even have it on the actual device. Recently, the printer completely stopped working as far as printing goes. It still scanned, but it was worthless. The claims process with Allstate was cake because it's just filling up the form. I just went to their website and the receipt was already uploaded because I bought it from Walmart. I've done them through eBay where I had to upload the receipt from eBay to be able to get it. But this one was a lot easier because it was streamlined. The worst part was waiting for them to reimburse me.

    We bought a ride-on toy and we had it in the storage because my daughter wasn't able to use it at the time that we bought it.     It took you close to two weeks get your end done. Wait times were at times a half hour. You kept asking for photos with the TV on and continued doing so when I told you the TV would not turn on. You asked for photos of each corner of the TV and of the full screen which I supplied and you kept sending me emails asking for the photos even when I responded that you had them as the email requests sent to me for the photos attached as trailers!!!

    Your wait times to get the warranty department were so long that one of your reps asked if would minding calling back the next day. She did not to stay on with me as the wait was too long. In addition your Reps. Made some really stupid statements. One told me the photos of the TV would enable the repair person to know what parts to order—-I would like to know how a black screen could provide the Tech. diagnostic information as what was wrong with the TV. Maybe it would show if the TV was damaged which I assume would not be covered warranty repair. Overall your customer service was one of the worst I have ever encountered. The warranty staff. Would never acknowledge my emails. I will say the Concierge staff were always very pleasant.

    Most times, it's easy to submit a claim with Allstate. But there are some times that it's a pain. But the reps were very friendly. With my recent claim, they replaced the phone. However, when I submitted a claim for an iPad, they rejected it because they couldn't read the receipt. I folded it up so that they could see the top and the bottom and I also circled the information for the tablet in the warranty. But they wouldn't accept that. They had to have the whole receipt.
