I sent two money orders by priority mail with delivery confirmation. When I checked the delivery confirmation on their website, it was last scanned in NJ. It was going to PA. I called and inquired. They gave me a confirmation # and said someone would call me back in two days. This was on a Thursday. So I said, "Will that be Monday?" The woman said no but by the end of business on Sat. I called on Sat. and the woman told me it wouldn't get a call until Mon. On Mon, a man called me and repeated the same information that was on the tracking website. He said I could call the local PA office and see if they had any more info. I suggested that he call them. This was the start of the big runaround. He said he was waiting for them to call back, or he was going to be off the next day, or his colleagues said he was waiting to hear back, that he had spoken to them and they were checking on it. I called them on their inconsistencies and never heard back.

I reported my lost two more times and the third time, a woman said she was going to escalate this case. When I called back two days later, they said that they couldn't help or give me any more information and that I needed to call Consumer Affairs. When I called Consumer Affairs, they said it had been closed out and they sent me a letter saying they had no more information on this case. So essentially, escalation was closing the case and sending me a letter. I asked about the money orders and have been told several things. I had to wait 30 days before filing a trace and I have to wait 60 days. If they were stolen and cashed, I am out the amount of the money orders. I had a supposed supervisor hang up on me while waiting to speak with her supervisor. There seems to be a lot of lip service with no actual results. When I pushed for more information or complained about the lack of results/information, they responded with hostility.

Placed a hold on personal mail on 3/24/09 - 3/31/09 by phone. Went into post office on 3/27/09 was told by Maria Perez mail was there but, she would not give it to me that day, to come back 3/28/09. She would release it then. I questioned why I would not be able to get my mail she refused to give a reason or my mail. Went in and spoke with a Penny who claimed to be the manager on 3/31/09. She told me to put all the responsibility and blame on her she is the person who returned my mail and refused to provide my mail. When walking out of her office I paused in front of her and she proceeded to push me. When I told her to apologize she advised me to call the authorities. I did and requested to file charges. Come to find out that is not her real name it is Naomi and even the officer said that his name was not his true name(Guitterrez badge #38 out of Upland, CA ph#909-946-7624 report#7590)he refused to take a report. I called the station and reported the officer. I have been harrassed and I would like some form of diciplinary action to occur at this location and with these employees. And if at all possible legal actions againt Naomi/Penny.

She gave appt. on Monday 3/30/09 at 2:00 p.m. She told me to bring original B/C, and my husband has to be present. I told her my kid's age, and she gave the price/fee of each kids. On Monday 3/31/09 at 2:00 p.m. I was in line to do my passport. Ben Velasquez aked me where are my 4 kids. I told him I did not know that I need to bring them, and they are in school now. I told him I talked to Chrystal Jones on Friday, and she never mentioned anything about bring my kids for this appt. Later, Chrystal Jones came out to see me. She was very disrespect to me. She told me the reason she did not tell me not to bring the kids because I did not ask that question. I only asked question if I need to bring my husband. I told her I don't know what 's questions to ask. She told me to bring original B/C and she left out the part to bring the children. If she knows it is one of the requirement like original B/C then she should have told me that the kids have to be present. I told her I did my son's passport 1/3/01 in Vallejo Postal Office and I did not bring any my children with me. Ben Velasquez said:then you should go to Vallejo Office and do your passport there. This remarks was unnecessary and he does not has any courtesy or respect to the customers. I was very hurt and very upset about these 2 postal worker/supervisor talked to me that way. I just want to bring this complaint to the higher management level so this incident will not happen to the next customers.

My mother lived with us for 1 year. Now in Ohio, she has lost alot of mail, even though she put in an address change. We have had to forward it several times. She has given her new adress to all her creditors also. The big deal is that Sears and Penny's have both claimed that they cannot or could not find her, now ,after forty-some years of goog credit with them, her credit is ruined. She is 84yrs old and it upsets her very much, of course. She needs good credit to get an apartment so that she can live alone, at least for a little while before she is unable. For all those years of perfect credit, the postal service is responsible for RUINING it!

I sent 5 birthday cards to 399 Racquet Club Rd, Weston, Fl 33326 on March 9th 2009. Two of these cards had $50.00 American Express gift certificates. They were inserted in and envelope purchased from and provided by clerk # 17 Bill #1000403199036. This transaction was completed at the main post office on Rancho California, Temecula, CA.
I paid for a signature confirmation. The number is 2305 1590 0000 0748 7669. Three cards had a regular stamp that I had provided. I received 2 of these envelopes back on March 13th 2009 and a third on March 19th 2009. All 3 envelopes had yellow stickers labels (Return to Sender No such Number Unable to Forward). The postal envelope I purchased was sent with the 2 gift cards. THIS ENVELOPE HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED BACK TO ME. I have contacted 4 separate Postal employees from the Temecula office as well as your customer services office. I was told Mary from Temecula main branch and Lindsay from your customer service branch that the envelope was returned to me on March 11th 2009. At this point in time, I have been unable to ascertain factual information as to the whereabouts of my missing envelope containing the 2 gift cards. I wish to note that is did receive the 3 stamped envelopes indicating that they were not deliverable.

I contacted the USPS to extend my temporary address for 8 months and they would not make an exception. I am on a couple of 8 month assignments for work and on my second assignment I will be considered on a temporary address for over a year. Two different addresses but both are temporary. My primary address is in Ohio. The two temporary address resided in IL and CO. I explained my situation and they would not make an exception to a rule that I feel is silly. Especially if you have a special situation and can explain it. It just does not make sense. I do not feel I should have to make a permanent change since I will not be here permanently and I do have a primary home in OH. I spoke to a supervisor and they were unable to make the change. This is horrible customer experience and if I had a choice to change mailing companies I would.

On March 4, 2009 I went to the U.S. Post Office to mail a few things. I mailed four(4) birthday cards for my family and a little package, that contained a phone accessory. One birthday card for my father, two for my mother, and one for my sister with a money order of $100 inside the card. Plus her package which I got insured. All to the same address.
Everything got to them on the same day, except for my sister's birthday card with her money order inside. I then called the 1-800 number and I asked what and why it happened and this lady said to give it a few days. Maybe a week or so went by and still nothing. I then called again and gave her the date and information of when and what had happened. She gave me a confirmation number and said that I should be expecting a call within the next business days from my local post office. I never did. That same day I also called the local post office to ask why that card never made it, like the rest of the others. The man I spoke to was rude and blamed it on whoever was supposed to recieve the mail, by saying that maybe they were lying about getting it in the first place. Of course, that offended me. I told him how much it meant to me that my sister received her birthday card, on or before her birthday(March 14th). I had put alot of thought on what card to get her and pictured her reaction when she got the money as well. This meant so much to me because I haven't seen my family in months and little things like these mean more when you're far away. On March 23, 2009 I went to the Eagle Post Center in Arlington Tx, to see if they could help me get my money order canceled and get my money back. The lady I spoked to was very helpful and she called the number that was on the money order to see what could be done. They wanted me to send them the original receipt of the money order but of course I didn't. I instead printed a copy and filled it out and wrote them a brief explanation of when and what had happened and that I just wanted to cancel the money order and get my money back. I got it notarize and then it was sent through USPS First Class Mail. I got a trackin number just in case that got lost as well. Then last night I called my mother and she told me that they finally recieved my sisters envelope but with NO birthday card or money order inside. It had been opened and then taped back. I was furious of course!! Whoever did this ruined my sisters birthday gift from me. I sent it out very early for a reason. This was very important to me. I love and miss her so much and then something like this happeneds. I trusted the post office when I went and asked this lady that worked there for help on getting my stamps and everything sent correctley. I did everything in front of her. Wrote the outgoing address and my address. I asked her if I should just place the money order inside the birthday card or in the package and she told me that inside the card was fine. Then when it was all done I payed her and asked if there was anything else I needed and she said, no that I was done. I would really appreciate if an attorney would contact me about my complaint. Thank you.

I am an avid online shopper and usually dont have much trouble with getting my packages. In early january of 2009 ordered several items online all about the same time, mostly through ebay. All the packages were delivery confirmation but one and it was insured. All of them were supposedly delivered within 10 days of each other dating approximately january 13 - january 24th. Although they show through the USPS website as delivered, I have never received any of them. A couple of years ago we had trouble with packages being stolen from our mail area. The area is in our complex is accessible to anyone who is in the complex, regarless of whether they live here or not. There are 2 usable large mail boxes with keys for packages and we asked them to use those and stop leaving packages and mail sitting on on the public ledge. This was corrected for a short time, but laziness obviously set in and the carriers started leaving packages on the public ledge again. I feel it is the USPS's responsibility if negligence is the reason for items being stolen. Chicago is a big city and common sense would say that leaving mail on a ledge that is accessible to others leaves it at risk of being stolen! I went to the P.O. and spoke to a supervisor there, George Daniels. He was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned at the time. A few weeks passed and we spoke again. He asked me to send pictures of the mail area and the ledge and boxes. So I did. He seemed sincere then as well, but has been of no help besides no making the carriers be more conscientious of their deliveries to our complex. I have not heard from him since and when I call or stop by he is not there. Regarding the stolen mail and even the insured item, I have had no assistance or resolution or even concern from anyone. We also have not received alot of our regular mail this past few months. As of yet, only one out of 5 of our bank and mortgage 1099's and 1098's have arrived. Also I paid off my car in November 2008 and the title has not arrived. I called the title co and they said it was sent in december.

On 3-26-09 after realizing that the box was still broken, I tried to contact the post office again, only to be greeted by a busy signal each time I called. I contacted customer service, and was told that they could not assist me, that the issue would have to be handled by my local post office, which is the very office that I have gotten nowhere with thus far. I was told by the rep. Aubrey S. that if I am unhappy with the service, or lack there of, that I am getting from my local post office to contact consumer affairs.

It has been about a month since I have stopped receiving mail regularly. My gas bill never came last month. My cable bill never came this month. And for the past 7 days my mailbox has been consistently empty. I used to get mail for any tenant that has lived in my apartment for as long as the building has been standing and now I'm not even receiving junk mail. I called the postmaster and was made to speak to my carrier. He was very dismissive to me, and said that if my mailbox was not clearly marked with my apartment number on it, that he has the right to withhold my mail and return it to sender. I have lived in my apartment for over a year and have never had a problem up until now. Very few of my neighbors have their individual mailboxes labeled with letters or numbers. But since that is what the guy said to do, and he's basically got me; I have no choice but to do what he says since he seems to have every right to hold my mail hostage until I conform to his will, I put a label on a piece of paper on my mailbox, saying 'apartment 1, aka unit 1, aka apartment a, aka unit a, aka 1st floor. How much more clearly marked do I need to make my mailbox to me. I still have yet to receive any mail at all.

I live in the Brewster Homes, located in Detroit, MI. My mailbox is located outside in a designated area convenient to each person who lives in my area. About one year ago someone drove their car into the mailbox and it was destroyed and had to be removed. Since then I have had to go to the Post Office everyday to pick up my mail. This is inconvenient because I don't have a car and sometimes I have no mail when I get to the Post Office and thus have wasted time and money. I have complained to Housing Management and to The Post Office to no avail, each one saying that the other is responsible to replace the mailboxes. Of course there are a lot of more important issues in this world to deal with, but at this time this matter is fast becoming a nusance and I have been patient for one year and I truly don't beleive that it should take more than a year to replace something as simple as a mailbox.

A week and a half later, lo and behold, the package showed up in my mail box, mutilated and opened.

I called teh 800 number and was told that the post office had the package and scheduled a redelivery. Today at 1030 NO PACKAGE. So i called the 800 number again. I was told all I could do was file a report. So I did. I then called the local office and told them I filed a report but wanted my package. I have already paid for the shipping and the contents. To have it RESHIPPED woudl cost me the full amount. They said and I quote we spoke with the carrier (who had the freakin package yesterday) and he says he does not have it. They also do not get it all the way in the mail slot to where someone could steal it. but back to tearing it, they have the local paper and to other out of town papers, along with the mail. they try and stick it all in the slot at one time and tear one of the papers most of the time . You call the post office and tell them this and they try and tell you that it is your mail slot on the house. I keep telling them it is because they are tiring to stick 3 plus more inches of mail in a 2 1/2 inch slot, and that the postal carrier needs to separate it and make 2 drops instead of one. They tell me they can not separate it they have to put it all in at the same time because all they can make one drop.( instead of 2) because it would take them to much time and that is all they were getting payed to do. I say who is going to pay for the damaged papers and they still act as if they do not care. this is almost like the time the postal carer was stealing the mail and the post office did not care to admit it because the post master was retiring and no one wanted to blemish it. I lost my life insurance for over 2 years and it took me a bit to finally get it back but i finally did but if i would have died when i did not have it my wife would have been out it. the post office could only say i am sorry and no harm happened i said it could have happened if i would have died and they said you did not so there was no harm all they under stand it the post office says that they are always right and the consumer is wrong i wish that the post office would have not protested years ago when a place in California wanted to go nation wide with there own post office but the united states post office said that they could not go in competition with the united states and take there business away. I say the united states is trying to run a monopoly on the postal service and is afraid that another postal service would put them out of business

Effective April 1, 2009, my local post office (47 Debevoise St., Metropolitan Station, Brooklyn, NY 11206) hours will change from 7:30-5:00 pm to 9-5pm. As this will eliminate my access to my P.O. box, I will most likely have to give up my P.O. Box that I have had for over 20 years. This new schedule more than inconveniences anyone who works, it penalizes the working consumer.

At 2:57 pm the driver for UPS was in my area and told me he didnt have the package on his truck, I contacted UPS and spoke to supervisor Robert Blackston who told me he contacted the local UPS center in Lawnside, NJ, and spoke t the supervisor in Lawnside, Antoinette. She informed him that they looked for the package and couldn't find it at their UPS facilities in CA and NJ, so they consider it a lost package. This order was due to the client today, 3/20 and I will have to reprint these at a new facility at my own cost. I was then transferred to Antione Little who informed me that she would call 4Over and let them know what happened. Now my car payment is late, I'm already behind, the repo man could very well be coming after me tonight. I had to send my payment in the form of a money order this time and cancel the check that I sent first. That's a $25.00 fee right there and who knows what the finance company is going to charge me for late payment! I can understand one of my letters getting delayed or lost but both of them at the same time?? I think not! I contacted the post office and sent this payment through express mail and the lady there told me she would call me as soon as she found out anything about my missing letters. I will never ever use a mail box again!I guess my mail lady likes to hoard mail or something, this is the second time this has happened. Must be nice to get paid for a job that you DON'T do!! Gardner Ln Branch signed for the 15,000 postcards and now no one knows where they are plus they dont care and they refuse to figure it out. I spent $3400 money on these and the USPS could care less. The indifference I experienced over 48 hours has been just down right sad. I was pushed off 8 times, told someone would call back 4 times. Finaly found a Supervisor that is dealing with the Post Card company but that alone took 3 days!!! I am out thousands of dollars this campaign would of brought in. My preparers are out hundreds of dollars a piece because of the business lost and the United States Postal Service could realy care less. They just want more tax money and the hell with the customer. I have never, ever felt like I was more just in the way and keeping them from doing something useful than I have felt dealing with this joke we call the Postal Service. They ignore you and refuse to deal with you hoping you leave them alone because they have the power and if you question it than there must be something wrong with you. I have done postal workers free every year at my Tax Offices and I gurantee this, not only will they not be free they will now have a surcharge to get back some of my money they literaly stole from me and my employees.

My son's mail is being returned-not at this address. this has happened the last few years sporadically. However this last month has been really bad. His credit card, his important papers and cards from the State of NEVADA dept of DMV (where he works) have all been returned --not at this address. His American Express bill for Feb also has never arrived. Now we, his parents, are wondering if any of our mail has been returned? Earlier this month I called the #800 275 8777(PO) and made a complaint with them. They gave me the name & # of the local supervisor--Moe 775-972-7054. I called her and told her the problem. Last year the problem was that our mail was being delivered to the correct number 8821 but to the WRONG STREET! At that time the people brought us some of the mail and we took theirs to them. However they are probably tired of going through this too. When I received something for them I returned it-- delivered to wrong street and circled the name of the street. I suspect that they are the ones returning ours as-not at this address. However that might not be the problem now? Terry at the PO said she would personally keep an eye on our problem. However it has happened again. The lady today,Terry (MNGR?), said the same thing. They do not seem to care very much. My husband suggested that it might not be the delivery man but that it might be done wherever they are sorted. They said--no it can't be that. In the mean time the credit card my son was expecting has been RETURNED TWICE ALREADY! I am not getting any help and now we are really worried about our mail and what to do about it. I just sent a email to the PO Inspector General's office. Also, the man who answered the phone today at the PO 800# said-- why don't you just complain to the Consumer Affairs with a flippant attitude. No surprise, as I just found out that what you think is the the 800# it is the PO!! Not true. It is a company who works for the PO. So no wonder they told me that. would appreciate all the help you can give me. Our names are Eugene M.Matys and Pearl and Frank Alvarez. 8821 Sunset Breeze Dr. Reno, Nevada 89506-4146-- our phone # 775-677-4001 Thank you and have a nice day. Mrs. Alvarez

Also, my employer has mailed checks to me on three different times, and each time I have not received the piece of mail. My mother, who lives 100 miles from my address, sent a personal check to me for my birthday, and have yet to receive it. That was back in December 2008. My bank had to issue me a new debit card, due to my first card getting stolen. I've had to contact my bank three times now, due to the fact that I haven't received the card. They've had to issue three cards to me so far. Hopefully, it will come this time. This scares me. There are checks with my information floating out there, who knows where. Now there are at least three debit cards out there as well. I have checked with my bank, my employer, and my parents to make sure they all have the correct mailing address, and they all do. Something has to change. As a taxpayer, and with stamps going up with every turn, we need someone to step up on our behalf and take action.

After the New Year I physically brought the post cards to the Ridge P.O. and handed them to the clerk. A week went by and neither I or my son received a post card. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. When i called them, the staff told me to go check online cos that's what the website is put there for. Only after i put my foot down, then she told me oh she could see in her system that the anticipated delivery date for the packages is 18 Mar 09, today and that they probably will only update the system after the package have been delivered??? What kind of stupid tracking system is this! Either you have it or you don't have it. I'm really shocked! This is America and this is United States Postal Service??? This is a disgrace! Having read some of the comments on this website makes me even more worried now. I have to start praying now that my packages get to my customers in one piece unopened, and forget abt the late delivery part. Unbelievable! I'm sure a third world country probably has a better postal system than them. I have travelled around the world, sent numerous packages fm different places and this is the last country i expected to faced any postal problems! This is really a disgrace! If USPS online track msg is just for protecting their ass, pls just take it off as i'm sure everyone knows by now what a lousy service provider you are and also knows that you guys are flooded with overflowing complaints to handle anyone else's complaints or either that pls be professional and go learn fm UPS what does tracking service means! Does USPS even have a top management that take notes of all these complaints or feedbacks and work on it? Does USPS have any compliance or enforcement department to ensure that every letter and package gets delivered in one piece on time? If not, i really think USPS is a joke and everyone fm the top level to the bottom level should be evaluated and start learning the basics of a postal system. If you have this depts in placed, then pls wake up and do your job! Stop chasing your customers away!

Once, I reached the window this rude employee asked, what's wrong with the drop box in the front? I explained to her that it clearly said if the package was over 13 ozs it must be dropped off to a retail person and not in the box. Again, she told me I needed to put my package in that box. I walked back over to the box against my better judgement. I decided to go back to her window (and wait in line again) and ask her to take my package. Once it was my turn again, I told her again what it said about packages weighing over 13 ozs and she proceeded to yell at me. She told me she was the one works there as if I could possibly know nothing since I do not work there. If she is the indication of the level of person they hire at the USPS at Cadman Plaza (Brooklyn), they are setting the standards very high. Finally, after insisting she take my package and asking her how hard it was, she accepted the package. I should not have spoken to her that way, but I was beyond frusturated. I am residing with some friends on a ranch and the ranch house is about one mile from the road where the mailbox is located. I do not have a car and in order to send and receive mail I have to walk up hill on a dirt road to the mail box and put my outgoing mail in the box and retrieve my incoming mail from the box.
I have to mail some legal documents to a federal court and there is a time limit, and I also need to timely mail my other letters. I am 60 years-old and in too much pain and my legs have been too weak to make the walk to the Post Office in Millville (96062) so I have been able to mail my letters for several days. I telephoned the Post Office on March 10, 2009, and explained to the Post Master that I am disabled and need to mail letters but I am in pain and cannot walk to the mail box. I asked the Post Master if I have any mail or packages that will be delivered to my door today, and if so I will give my outgoing mail to the mail carrier to take so I do not need to walk to the mail box to mail my letters. The Post Master told me he does not know if I have any mail or packages that will be delivered to the door but if I call back on March 11, 2009, at around 10:00 AM he will let me know if I have any mail or packages that will be delivered to my door on that date. I asked the Post Master what time the mail carrier delivers to 27899 Whitmore Road, Millville California, so if I try and am able to walk to the mail box I will see the mail carrier at the box and ahd her my legal and other mail. The Post Master said he ahs no idea when the mail carrier delivers to 27899 Whitmore Road. I called the Post Master on March 11, 2009, at around 10:00 AM and asked him if I have any mail or packages that will be delivered to my door on that date so I can give my outgoing letters to the mail carrier to mail because it would be very painful for me to walk to the mail box to timely mail my letters and the walk could aggravate or exacerbate my spinal injury. The Post Master told me know I do not have any mail or packages that will be delivered to the door. It would be easy for the mail carrier to drive to the door once in awhile and take my letters to mail for me when I call and have occasion to mail letters and that would save me a lot of pain and difficulty walking a mile uphill on the way to the box with a spinal injury to mail my letters. I do not need to mail letters every day and I believe the Americans with Disabilities Act requires or at least should require the Post Master to direct the mail carrier to drive to my door and take my letters to mail on the occasions that I call and have letters to mail, and it seems like the Post Master should suggest this when someone calls him and explains difficulty in walking and the person needs to mail letters. This type of inconsiderate rudeness and Americans with Disabilities Act violations practiced by the Post Master could very well start considerable federal litigation if not corrected. Danny Atterbury

On February 12th, 2009, I sent out a small package in first class mail using the USPS. My small package was originating in Kalamazoo, MI and arriving in New York City (10021). They said it would take 3-5 business days to send, and there was no real need to put a tracking number on it because it wasn't a large package. A week passes, I call the USPS, and they assured me that either I made a mistake on the address (which I didn't...) and that it was being returned to me. Or it just hadn't arrived in the upper east side of New York City yet. I was slightly relieved.

I went to the Post Office as advised & the package was not there. The postal clerk said that the Postman probably had the package. At 3:00 the postman delivered mail but no package. I called 916-483-0436 & talked to the delivery supervisor. He double checked & found no package. He asked me how long would I be at home & I told him a couple of hours. He said that he would personally deliver the package. It's now 6:40 PM & no package.
I feel like I've been given the run around & I wasted my entire day waiting for the package. I've lived at this address for over 9 years & this is the first problem I've had with the Post Office. The notice was dated 1/22/09, for payment of a red light violation that I never received. The violation was sent right after I moved, but never made it to my new mailbox. The second notice was received over a month late, meaning I missed the cut-off for payment and will have to try to get a hearing for reducing the late fees. The package arrived at it's destination in 10 days. When I called Ask USPS to find out why and if I could get a refund for the service the representative told me it was not a guarantee and that I could not get a refund. When I look on the USPS website, it doesn't state that it may take longer to deliver the package for priority mail. If I paid extra for a service I expect to get that service.

I attempted to call the national USPS phone number for confirmation but was informed by a customer service representative that the system? was down and that I should try calling back later. March 3 I contacted the Lafayette Square office (504-529-2891) to determine whether my package was being held at the location. The clerk stated that the package had not arrived at the Lafayette Square office and that I should both check with the carrier to see if it was still in their custody and check with the seller to see whether the package had been returned. I contacted the carrier (504-589-1419), who told me they could not locate the package and that I should contact the Lafayette Square office for assistance. The seller promptly informed me that the package had not been returned to him. March 5 I contacted the carrier to see if the package had been found. No luck. I contacted the Lafayette Square office to see if the package had been found. No luck. March 6 I contacted the Lafayette Square office to see whether the package had been found. No luck, and while I was respectfully stating my disappointment in the customer service that I was receiving from USPS, the clerk put down the phone to assist another customer? and was not picking the phone back up after several minutes, so I ended the call. I then contacted to carrier to see whether the package had been found. No luck, again. The carrier told me to call the Lafayette Square office and ask for a Ms. Bonnie, and that Ms. Bonnie was friendly and would be willing to assist me. I called the office too late later that daythey were already closed. Slightly dissatisfied over the situation, I called the national number to see whether an insurance claim could be made, only to again have a customer service representative inform me that the system? was down and that I should try back later. While attempting to respectfully inform the customer service representative of my dissatisfaction with the postal services inability to assist me she repeatedly informed me that the system? was down and that I should try calling back later, her repetition possibly a result of dealing with dissatisfied customers for a career. While checking my email later in the evening I discovered that the seller of the art print I had ordered that was lost by the U.S. Postal Service had offered to replace my art print for the cost of shipping. Now THAT is customer service.

Our Apartments have mail boxes in the front of the complex and the postal carriers regularly cram the boxes full of junk (the main way they make money). They didnt bother to look, probably didnt even bother to look at other mail they had going into the box. It was just plain laziness.
The second time it was sent they lost it. I have tried to find it by going to the Post Office location but they are also lazy and will not even give you one minute of time to do a cursory glance at the undelivered mail. The Postal service is in danger of being obsolete and I personally cant wait until it shuts down and they are all unemployed. Two weeks later and still not getting mail delivered to my door, I called Joe and he explained that they were in a letter inventory?? and he had not received the approved forms back from the higher up that must sign off on them. Then I got more forms to sign stating that I would keep my driveway clear for the carrier which I signed and returned. Two weeks later, I called again to complain to be told that I should contact USPS consumer complaints and was given that phone number. I called that number and was told to contact consumer affairs 304-561-1071. I did that and had to leave a message that may never get returned. There's more that involves me not yet receiving a piece of mail that I know was mailed on 2/25 from not that far away. Long story short, I still have to get my mail from the far away mailbox. On Saturday, February 28th, 2009, I had my moms very small dog sitting outside my door on a leash. I have a fully fenced yard. When I heard my moms dog start to bark (this dog is ten years old), I opened the door and grabbed his leash and brought him in the house. I was waiting for the post lady to bring my mail. Instead she says No, I can't bring the mail with the dog there. I said the dog is on a leash and in the house, why can't you. She told me to go get the mail. I run a day care out of my home, I can not run outside and leave the kids alone even for a second. I told her this. She said oh well and I said I'm closing the door so she can bring the mail. I closed it and she didn't bring it to my box. Instead she went on her way. Obviously anyone would be mad. I opened the door and told her to bring me my mail, that the dog is in the house and told her I would be filing a complaint against her. She finally brought my mail. (Today all my mail was soaked, I had to dry it before even able to open anything.) Then today I get a letter saying that they are concerned about my dog and that I need to sign a form saying that the dog will be restraint. I called her supervisor and explained what happened. That the dog was restraint, that she failed to bring my mail. He finally called me back hours later and said that I should have had the dog restraint. I told him that the dog was and had to keep repeating myself and he kept trying to change it around. He said he is sending the postal authorities tomorrow on me because I raised my voice. And he then hung up on me. (wow, how is that allowed) First of all, where does it say that this is an offense, where does it say that it's ok for them to treat us poorly and get away with it. Where does it say that it's ok for them to deliver the mail only when they want to. Where does it say that we can not have a dog ON A LEASH AND IN OUR HOME and will not have our mail delivered. Where did I sign an agreement. I've lived here for an hour an half and run a business. We had a regular mail man who was great. When my moms dog was here he would walk right in and talk to the dog no problem. The dog has NEVER been off the leash. My mom has had this dog for 10 years and never have they not had mail delivered because of him. Since the regular mail man changed routes after many years, we have had so many different mail mens/womens and you never know when our mail is going to be picked up or delivered. And now this is happening. When I looked up information about complaints, I see that it seems that they can get away with anything and be able to keep their jobs and everything be blamed on us, hard working Americans. They no matter what, they will keep doing what they are doing because they are union. I'm part of a Union, but that doesn't mean I'm not held responsible for the actions that I do. I will continue to fight and to share my story and go further up the lines.

The package was going to 4900 SW 46th Court #2205 Ocala, Fl. 34474. Apparently the package never arrived at its destination. I have been trying to track down my box for several months, but I have not been successful. Unfortunately, this has not been my only incident with this branch. I have experience the same type of poor service on two other occurrences with this office. On all three occasions my packages had never reached their destination. I explained my situation to clerk number 4 and the immediate supervisor at the location. The manager was not concern or helpful with this matter. I pleaded my case to the supervisor but she was uncooperative. I wanted to get compensated for my lost, but the supervisor refuse to refund my money due to the items not having a receipt. She stated that in order for me to receive my insurance I had to supply receipts of everything inside the box. Unfortunately, not everything inside the box was purchased from a store. They had never stated that I had to save my receipts to claim my package. The Post Office refused to track down my package as per one of the clerks. According to the clerk the box is not lost nor ever left the station, but apparently they dont know its current location. As a result, I would like for someone in upper management to investigate this matter as soon as possible. Furthermore, I will like my box to be delivered or refund my money for the box. Nonetheless, neither request is being made. Sincerely, Ana Rodriguez

I speak to the mail carrier (Ray) and he says that he got my request to hold my mail and It has been sitting at the Brynn Marr office waiting to be picked up. He says that it has been there and that each time i called someone must not have been looking in the right place but it was there. That was Thursday the 19th. I spoke to Ronda the supervisor of the Brynn Marr office and she said that it was there. I asked her if i can have someone that i knew that lived in the Brynn Marr area pick my mail up for me since this office is now out the way for me. she said it was agaist policy and she would not be able to let someone else pick up my mail. OK HERE IS WHERE IT STARTS TO GET THICK!!!! Ronda tells me that since i can't pick it up she will put all the mail that was on hold in a big envelope and send it to the mail office and it will be delivered to my new address the following day. I said that would be fine, but if it's going to take a while to get to me i will just pick it up myself the next day. She assured me that i would get my mail the next day. Of course i didn't or i would not be writing this. I spoke to someone the following day at the main post office to which my mail was sent and now, UNTIL THIS DAY no one can tell me where my mail is. Nothing is on hold, no big envelope, nothing. I spoke with the postmaster at the main post office in jacksonville and he has done nothing. i think at this point when he know it's me on the phone, he is all of a sudden in a meeting. I spoke with a women name Debbie today and she told me that she saw this envelope with my name and address on it on the 19th (Thursday) and Friday morning it was gone. she of course assumed it was delivered. Come to find out when Ronda sent my mail over to the main post office it was hand delivered to the POSTMASTER (Chris). Today this Debbie person says that she personally thinks that the night supervisor open that envelope (WHY?) and now my mail has been sent to CFS or something like that and it would be another week before i can get it. Now what am I suppose to do. she said she can't see why he would do something like that especially when the envelope was clearly addressed to a consumer (ME)

One card that went to Long Beach, Ca, took 7 days to get there, the envelope was ripped and it was repackaged in a clear envelope. I went to the Post office and spoke to the supervisor. He initially helped me then left and kept me standing waiting for over 20 minutes. I think this is horrible service for the USPS. I have never had a package been undeliverable. Box 10218, Des Moines, IA 50380-0218. The certified label # is 7007 2560 0003 1109 6672 and as of today 2/25/09 my package has not reached its destination and the United States Postal Service cannot track my package. When I mailed this package the Post Master at this location assured me that it would arrive in about two to three days, it has now been eight days and the package cannot be located. It is extremely important that this package arrive before 2/25/09 since I have a credit coming to me for $119.85. If this package does not reach its destination before February 25th chances are that Meaningful Beauty will not honor their 60-day money back guarantee and this would be disadvantageous to me. Ive called USPS on three occasions this week and I still have had not luck in finding the package.

Why must we continue to be subjected to nastiness of the clerks (all) at this local post office? They make a profound case against labor unions -- which in this case protect jobs of people who shouldn't have them while myriad numbers of people would love to have those jobs. It seems to me, the downtown (Chicago) clerks are the worst and I try to do all my postal business in the suburbs whenever possible. I think I would rather deal with the frustration of a machine or a robot than the nastiness of these people.
They can't answer a question with any amount of civility. Lines are allowed to extend unreasonably while they go to lunch or a coffee break and just when everyone has lost all patience the clerks move a a snails pace -- and it is obvious it is on purpose.

I work for Keais Records Service, 1010 Lamar, Suite 300, Houston, Texas 77002, and for the last 6 months we have been getting our mail very inconsistantly. At one point it was so bad that we purchased a PO Box. We even get mass amounts of mail that are not even ours. I have contacted the post office and consumer affairs regarding this issue and was told that it would be taken care of. My last call resulted in the employee from Consumer Affairs calling the post office and putting me on the phone with them in conference. I was told by Mr. Davis at the Franklin Street post office that they would change the route that we were on, because we did not have a designated carrier and we would get our mail in the morning, just like we used to. That has not happened and still our mail is coming in as late at 3:30 in the afternoon and our last pick up time of 4:30 pm. If we don't get our mail processed, checks cut based on what we receive in and put in envelopes by 4:30, one hour later, then one of our employees has to go to the post office after their regular shift creating overtime expense.

I wish to encourage anyone who has had a problem to call the 1-800-ASK-USPS number. This creates a Service Issue which many dedicated employees across the country respond to. It also creates a log of all complaints so that Consumer Affairs Managers across the country can track and review to identify problems and patterns in our service to the customer. I recently started a position in my local consumer affairs office and I love to try and help everyone who calls to the best of my ability. As someone who worked in various positions in the postal service and also worked in the private sector for 11 years many of that as a temporary employee, I bring all of my experience to my job. One thing I would suggest is that you let people know who have had a problem about our 1-800 number. From some of the comments on here, I get the impression that some of them think that this site will help them with their postal service issues. Horrible service at:
BRIGHTWOOD 6323 GEORGIA AVE NW STE A WASHINGTON, DC 20011-1142 The Post Office personnel are much unorganized in their efforts to aid customers. (1) They are slow on purpose and state they are not paid to rush?. Nobody wants them to rush and make mistakes. However, people want to see good customer skills and a sense of professionalism. If competition arrives, you all will be out of business. Acting insensitive, because you are the only available business in town, will eventually bring you down. (2) They will call people to the front of the line when these people are 5 to 10 people behind the front people. Everybody in line is in a hurry and should be taken in turn. No one wants to wait 10 minutes or more and then they call someone who just came in before them. Everyone could understand if you have a standalone Postal Worker who is taking receipts to go get packages that require signatures like your other Post Offices do. Customers consider your workers to be dumb for doing this. Everyone knows when they say, Stamps and Money Orders only?, say yes and get to the counter and say Oh, I forgot, I need this too?. You are not Safeway with an express line. Since you have to wait on everyone anyway, take them in the order they came in. How would you like to go to a gas station and they tell all the folks in the back who only want $5 of gas to come to the front before the other people who are buying large purchases of gas. (3) They have arrogance about themselves when they try to herd us like cattle. (4) Most customers know what they want when they come in. If a customer says A book of stamps only, send this package the cheapest way, Im just here to pick up a package, etc.?, let them go without reading a whole bunch of irrelevant stuff to them. You are not very good salesmen. Then your workers are dumb enough to say I have to read all of this to you because of management requires us to, even if you have made it clear of what you want?. Basically they are saying I must be an aggressive shyster.

I am writing this letter of complaint about the unreasonable and offensive attitude of USPS staff, **, who works at USPS location 3727 S ALASKA ST, Seattle, WA 98118.

Incident #1: I am a small business owner and I have been using USPS Click-N-Ship to enjoy the clearer transaction and online discount. I usually bring the packages to the local post office for drop off for faster delivery. However, the offensive and derogatory attitude of a USPS staff, **, made me consider switching to other shipping carriers. The USPS staff did not know about the online discounted price and required me to pay for the differences for 3 packages. I told him that the weight was correct and I just used the USPS website to pay online that morning. He argued that the online USPS website was contracted to an outside vendor so their calculation was not correct!! I insisted that he check with other coworkers. Another more knowledgeable staff pointed out that there is an online discount based on a postage table posted right on their counter. So he had no other choice but just collected the 3 packages without insisting that he was right.

Multiple incidents: ** is well-known in the neighborhood for his derogatory attitude towards the Chinese community. He always gives a hard time for Chinese people but on the other hand he sirs the ** people. His racist behavior is not acceptable and a simple exit poll at the post office would review his negative attitude and behavior in the past.

While I would consider switching to other mail carriers like UPS and Fedex because of their websites, service and cost, I still hope that USPS will take positive action to improve their services so that customers will feel respected and valued.

Todays date is Sat. 02-21-2009, todays event is just one of many problems I have experieced recently from the Postal Service. Today someone parked on the street in front of my house and apparently this was too close to my curbside mail box so I saw the postal driver drive up, looking at my mail as if he thought about getting out and delivering my mail but then he sped off to the next house without delivering my mail. I went outside and caught up with him down the street and asked him if I could get my mail since the vehicle had been parked in front of my mail box. I identified myself and had identification in hand. The mail carrier told me that not every house was getting mail in my area today. (what ever that means). I asked him if he could check to see if I had any because I was expecting a package. He refused to look in the bag to get my mail. I left without saying anything else because I know from dealing with these people in the past that id does no good to argue with them. Recently I had another incident where I bought an item and when I had received the box, it had been ripped open and the purchased product was not inside. I flagged down the mail carrier that was delivering the mail that day and he had nothing to say about the obviously ripped open box that he put in my mail box except (thats weird)...then drove off. I called my local post office location located on innis ave. in Columbus Ohio where I spoke with an african american female that identified herself as Teresa. I told her that I wanted to file a theft report through the postl inspectors office. Her response was why...they aint gonna do nothin. I again asked for the telephone number and she refused to give it to me. I finally argued around with her long enouph and she finally gave me the number. I advised her that I wished to file a complaint on her also and her response was do it..were union..aint nothin gonna happen...were union...it wont mean anything. Well I did call the inpectors office and after a brief telephone runaround I spoke with someone who took my information and said they would report the theft and the employee complaint. I never was contacted again and I was just out the property that I had purchased without even a phone call. (I guess Teresa was right about nothing happening). All of this and I was recently refused service at that same Innis ave location by a african american female (unknown if same person) for not standing behind a small sign that reads something like stand here or something. I simply didnt see the sign and I walked up to the counter. After all I was the only one in the store at that time, other people walked in later. This paticular post office is ran by the classic government employees types that could care less about people or there buisness but would rather jerk you around on every technicality and tell you off in a minute. There seems to be no quality control whatsoever and noone seems to care.

I am the manager of a skin care spa and boutique with an online store. We have enjoyed our location in your district for the past 8 years. A large part of our business is based on online and phone orders that are shipped out from our same boutique location. For our outgoing shipments we use the United States Postal Service. I would like to bring your attention to the issues that we have been having with the local post office. Skin1 has used the United States Postal Service for our outgoing shipments from our internet and phone orders for the past 8 years. We spend roughly $600,000 per year to use their services. However we are now considering a different shipment method due to the accumulative issues that we are having with their service. The number of lost/stolen packages has sky rocketed! In January alone we have had 20 packages lost. In the past we have contacted the postal inspector Mike Carroll, as well as our postal representative Nadirah Muhhamad regarding the lost mail. Nadirah is able to follow up on the status of these packages, but they are rarely recovered. After we speak with an inspector the issues we have will begin to clear up and this may last for 3-4 months before we start loosing packages on a regular basis. I have been told by inspectors that the Chicago Postal Department is so corrupt that, a carrier that had left a stack of crates full of mail on the side of the road, was fired and then rehired the week later Basically I am being told that there is not anything that can be done. This is not an acceptable answer. The packages that we are loosing are being shipped all over the country. It certainly does seem as though the problem would be in Chicago , but that is what we need to find out.
The Second issue we are having has to do with the supplies we order from usps.com, through the supply line, and specialized ordering. We are not receiving them at all or if we do our order is very short. The quantity that we are ordering is very large and often times when it reaches the local post office they think that it is there shipment. This has been a reoccurring issue for the last few years. This type of issue should be easy to resolve yet we keep having the same problems. Also we use a very large quantity of Priority Mail tape, close to 40 rolls per month. We use this large amount due to the high volume of our shipment as well as to ensure the safety of our packages. It has been very hard for us to get any delivered to our store, because USPS no longer allows consumers to order this item. We finally got the supply line to send us 24 per month, but it took a full year of us and our representative Nadirah arguing with them to do so. This again is something that should have been easy to resolve, but the time spent over it is not worth it. We do not charge our customers for shipping on their orders which is how we keep our edge in this economy. We want to continue to be able to do that, but with the amount of money and time we are loosing by having to reship these packages we may not be able to do so; or we would need to find a more reliable shipment method. We have contacted numerous departments of the Postal Service as well as the BBB about these reoccurring issues, but have not had any resolution to them. I wanted to make you aware of this, because it is happening in your district. I would appreciate any help our feed back you may have to assist us in resolving these issues.

Without warning, the USPS has decided to return my mail to its senders claiming insufficient address. Apparently, a zip code, state, town, street, building number and addresses are an insufficient address.
My address is an 82 year old building which is in walking distance of the main Fair Lawn, NJ post office. In fact, my address was here before the main Fair Lawn post office was built. Therefore, it should be difficult for the USPS to find the address. Yesterday, I spoke to the carrier route supervisor, who was most unhelpful. He told me that the USPS has a new system, that my address is incomplete as there is no apartment number, they are returning my mail, this is my problem, and I should notify everyone who is sending me mail. As for the apartment number, this is nonsense as the building is a two family house without mailboxes, and the letter carriers place the mail inside the entrance area by our front doors. This has been the way mail has been delivered here for over twenty years without any problems. I also called the USPS toll free number yesterday. A disinterested person took my complaint and said someone would call me back. No body called me back. I called again today, an spoke to another person who actually resented having to take my complaint. The USPS employee I spoke to could not provide any information as to who was responsible, or what would be done to address the problem, or when the problem would be addressed. To put it nicely, this is ridiculous. I do not think it is too much to ask the USPS to deliver mail, the very reason for their existence and the very thing they are paid to do.

Without warning, the USPS has decided to return my mail to its senders claiming "insufficient address." Apparently, a zip code, state, town, street, building number and addresses are an "insufficient address."
We have called and spoken with several managers and they state he has too much seniority to transfer him to a different route or take any further action. We are a Dental Practice and send our mail via United States Post Office to insurace companies, patients, doctors offices, ect. We have HIPPA laws and regulations that we are leagally binded too and he is way too careless with our personal information. This is not the first time we have had problems with him delivering mail to wrong offices, loosing mail that never makes it's way to the proper party and most important just leaves a box full of out going mail for the 3rd time within a 90 day period sitting outside on the side of the building where any passer can take our mail. When we send claims we put them in the carriers hand and they are left outside where anyone can pick up the box and walk off with patient info, s.s.#'s, telephone numbers, home address' ect. We would greatly appreciate a prompt responce regarding this matter. Thank You!

Last month I foumd a credit card bill stuck on the outside of my P.O. box. It had been opened and was due two weeks prior. Yesterday I recieved another reminder that I had not payed another bill. After checking I found that I had never got the bill. Several months ago I was sent a check for services render. After three months I never got it so they finally cancelled it and issued another one. This has been on going for sometime. I have gone to the Post office and have spoken to the Postmaster and expressed my concerns. Most people don't believe that you din't pay because of the Post office. After leaving her office I had the impression that they don't even handle mail there. According to her they just get mail there and put it into the boxes, so it could not be the doing of her employees. I have always kept a P.O. box because of identity theft. I have worked to many cases where mail was taken for the mail box.

I have called our local post office on one occassion to complain about it, and nothing was done, in fact not even 2 days later, the carrier again did not show up on our street. I don't know about anyone else on our street, but i for one, don't like it as it can cost me at least a disconnect notice on a utility, it can delay my check which it did once, and I was late with my bills, and had to pay late fees, this was a delivery we should have gotten on a Sat, and I could have cashed my check and paid bills on time instead I did not get it until Late on Monday, and I was 2 days late paying bills. Some people do not have option for direct deposit. I am getting tired of it, and I wish someone would do something about it, so far since Friday this past week the delivery was not made today. the 17th of Feb. No one gets mail on these days on this street. It is like they choose the streets they will deliver on so many one day, so many the next day, and so on. First they told us it was delivered to Australia waiting for pick up by customs. We told the customer and he went down no package. Then they said it was attempted for delivery no such address. Now they tell us it was sent back awhile ago. We don't have it, he doesn't have it, and we have no clue where it is. I had called USPS weeks ago to investigate. Weeks later after no response, i called again. They told me they don't have recollection of my call. So this is what we are dealing with, and it is very frustrating to run a business like this.

Ever since the day I moved in, my wife and I have harmlessly joked about how awful our carrier is: we would go to get our mail and see envelopes on the ground, we would receive other peoples mail and some times they would receive ours. Fortunately, we know our close neighbors well because we have exchanged our proper mail with each other. However it has gotten worse to the point where it is financially impacting to my family. First I had previously put in nearly 25 or so complaints in every category I could find on the USPS site because she had put the key to one of the lock boxes for big packages in our slot and we knew it was for this 150$ external hard-drive we had ordered from amazon because we checked both USPS and amazon and they both said delivered on that day. We go to put it in the slot and a key is already there and it is open. We looked at the key we had and it said spare! So one of two things happened: she either gave another person the key as well while being careless, as she has often given our mail away before, or she stole it herself. I'm leaning towards the first one. We also turned it in to amazon and because they were so helpful and sent out another one, of which we actually received we let it go for then, still never receiving the original. Well, Saturday, the day before yesterday, my wife went to check the mail while I was at work and LUCKILY noticed NORDEA on an envelope, which she knew was hers because that is the name of her bank in Finland, she is from Finland. And that envelope was on the ground all scuffed up. The reason I am now very angry is because her bank sends her once a month a booklet of her accounts passwords for that month, and so if anyone had gotten a hold of that booklet they would have had nearly every thing they needed to get in to her bank account.

Two items from inside the box were clearly stolen. One was my Valentine's Day gift. Whoever the USPS employee was that stole the two items from the box left a smaller box inside that HAD my gift (a gold & pearl necklace) in it. There is also one envelope (among at least seven other misc. pieces of mail) that is missing. The envelope that was stolen had money inside of it. So, not only did someone open the package, tear the side of the box to get it open, go through all the misc. pieces of mail to find the ONE that had the money in it, then they stole my necklace.

I mailed my passport with an application and all the other necessary documents for a name change on January 12th 2009, from a US Post Office located at 116 W. Union St. Morganton NC 28655, to the National Passport Processing Center. I sent the package as certified mail; however to this day (2/13/09) the package can not be tracked in the post office's tracking system, nor has the package reached its destination at the passport processing agency.
According to the post office-they have made an effort to locate the package in their tracking system, and I have called the passport agency several times and it has not arrived there either. Therefore the US Post Office has lost my passport book and other identifying information. The package included my personal information-which could lead to identity theft and also my original marriage license, and a personal check. I called the 1 800 # and they put in a complaint and said someone would contact me within 24 hours. 72 hours later-I still hadn't heard anything, so I called the main post office in Morganton. Donna at the main office told me that Cathy from the office from which I mailed the package-admitted she messed-up did not scan the package, and does not know what happened to it. I also spoke to the head post master in Morganton and he said that the site and workers, I mailed from are contracted in and do not have proper postal training. As if that was acceptable. I asked the post master what they were going to do to resolve the issue and he said that since I did not insure the package there was nothing they could do. He said certified meant a guaranteed service, but not insured. In my mind guaranteed would mean they deliver the package I sent out to its destination. He would not pay the fee for me to have my marriage license replaced, and could not do anything about my SS # and other info being out there. The post office asked me to wait 3 weeks to do anything, incase it showed up. I filled out new paper work for a passport on 2/9/2009 and they paid the $25 handling fee, but I am still waiting on it to come in the mail.

Over the last three years, the Graceland Carrier Annex, which is a division of the Post Office, has been distributing Delivery Notice/Reminder/Receipt slips (i.e. PS form 3849) that have my home phone number printed as the contact number for the Annex. I was issued this number in August of 2005, and have worked with numerous people over the course of the last three years that have assured me that they would fix this; however it continues to be a problem. In fact on a recent trip to the Annex, I became aware that my phone number is printed on the PS Form 3849 with a print date of May 2008. My first contact was with the Post Master three years ago, and I was assured that the problem would be corrected. The calls began to come in more consistently and became more of a nuisance to me, and so I again contacted the post office and spoke to Mr. Johnson who was the current supervisor at the Graceland Annex at that time and he assured me that he would take care of it. I proceeded to follow up with Mr. Johnson on a monthly basis when the calls did not taper off. I asked for his supervisor’s name and number, and was directed to Dan Davis. Dan did not return my calls for three weeks and then upon finally getting in contact with me, he assured me that it would be fixed within one month, which would have been in October of 2008. In late November/early December, the call volume continued to be substantial, so I placed a follow-up call to Dan, who said he was still working on it. He explained that the Post Office needed time to determine who was handing out the notices (with my phone number) and that they needed to print new ones with the correct number. In February, I was still receiving a substantial number of calls, so I went to the Graceland Carrier Annex (on Feb. 5th) and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor needed to be called three times and it took 20 minutes for him to come to the window. While I was waiting for the supervisor to arrive, approximately 10 people came in to pick up their packages. While they were waiting, I asked to see their Delivery Notice and without exception each one of them had a notice with my phone number printed on it as the contact number to the Graceland Carrier Annex. The supervisor who finally did arrive, a Mr. Stovall, was incredibly dismissive, would not look me in the eye, and said they would try to fix it as he walked away. Also, while I was there, I was shown that the notices that they happened to have on hand next to the walk-up window at the Graceland Annex are still the incorrect ones (with my phone number), but the fix for these has been to cross out my number with black marker (although it is still clearly visible). The Delivery Notice/Reminder/Receipt with my phone number is PS Form 3849, with the date of May, 2008 on it. Clearly they are continuing to print new forms with my phone number on them after they were made aware of the situation in June of 2005 and several times after. No one is accountable at this particular post office and no one seems to have the slightest interest in correcting this problem.

Since 1975, I've had a rental box at the Post Office, Rosslyn Station in Arlington, VA. I had a near perfect service up until the last person (Pat) to retire from that position. I recall her dismay with the branch management and USPS general service to the public (I could see now with the number of complaints noted on the web, not to mention what is reported in the newspaper from time to time).
Following Pat retirement just before the new Millennium, Loraine was hired to replace her. When regular (i.e., on time and daily) delivery resumed, Loraine was on the job, I discovered a huge pile of three months mail was kept in the back of the Rosslyn station. In that pile I discovered overdue credit card statements among other important and critical mail. Of course, I complaint to the branch manager only to realize how inept she was and no further communication took place. Loraine proved to be efficient and conscientious in her role, which lasted steadily until she was assigned to help out at another station somewhere in Arlington. In the interim, her substitute including staff serving at the counter failed miserably in delivering mail on time. Adding insult to injury, when I have overflow or large packages, they REFUSE to leave it in a holding bin for pickup afterhours. Given that I work the same hours as the post office hours, I could only pick up at night (after 5:30pm) or on the weekend. It was OK on weekends, before they stopped Saturday service. Last Tuesday (Feb 3), I found in my box a yellow notice of oversized package. I asked for the next day delivery of the package in a holding bin so I can pick up at night. As of TODATE (Feb 10), I see no further evidence of the package, which is reasonable to assume is being stored (or destroyed) or placed somewhere in the back collecting dust at Rosslyn Station. This HAPPENED too many times, and when I protest, some smart moron, blabber mouth (one of the counter staff) tells me in his twisted annunciation Get a larger Box? (referring those for business) - I consider stupid of him to suggest for me to pay a higher fee for poor service, not to mention for personal not business mail. I should also mention that over four months back, I sent a complaint to the Post Master for Arlington County, which clearly fell on DEAF EARS AND BLIND EYES. This is a miserable state of affairs. I wish USPS cleans up its act, this frustrates consumers and reflects poorly on each and every Post Master --- The FISH STINKS FROM THE HEAD (Italian Proverb) PS To mention in passing, Box Rentals provide good revenue to the USPS, as well as it takes some of the heave loads of the delivery by street carriers. The management has cut corners so drastically and does not care about giving good service. They only want for the carriers to get the mail out the door, and not to bring anything back. It doesn't matter what happens between. Fortunately, everyone will be going to email and online bill payments, so they will be phased out soon enough.

As I've moved to Dallas, I've submitted several change of address forms since December 2008 and have not gotten any mail forwarded to PO BOX at this Post Office. I've talked to the Supervisor several about this and noticed there were other consumers with the same issue with this Post Office. I was given a number to Consumer Affairs which was not valid to resolve my issue. I'm just looking for the mail with the Yellow Sticker with my previous address to let me know I am get my mail. I've also been contacted by FEMA stating the mail they sent is being returned from this post office.
