First, on Friday I received my mail as normal. I live in a townhouse which is like an apartment, so I have a mailbox key and no one else has access to my mailbox. I looked online later that night as I had an item that was being shipped to me. It was marked as being delivered on that, day 8/7/09, to my mailbox. Well, I didn't get any such package. At the time, I assumed it was an innocent postal error, thinking they gave it to the wrong apartment number. Well, then Monday, 8/10/09, comes and there's another package I was expecting. I looked early in the morning at the tracking and it had arrived at the local post office at 4 am and was to be delivered that day. Well, I checked my mail and it wasn't delivered. So, I then checked the tracking and again it was marked as being delivered.
I went to the post office in Fort Avenue and they gave me the good old run-around. They said the route that goes to where I live the person retired and so there were many different carriers that run my route, since there wasn't anyone that had officially taken over the route. Well, before I went there I called a number given to me in Atlanta, Georgia and I provided them the tracking numbers I had. They then will scan the numbers that the carrier got after scanning that he/she had delivered my packages. I went to a different post office and they explained that I was being given the run-around at the post office in Fort Avenue because those scans can show exactly who falsely delivered my packages. I am now worried that this will continue to happen as it already has happened twice. They did not have my packages at the office.

I walked into the Arcadia Post Office and there were at least 14 people in line. Not one person was at a window, I thought everyone went home. In a few minutes a young woman came to the desk and started sorting mail. She never indicated when and if someone would be helped. I left after waiting five minutes and realizing I didn't have the entire day to spend. This is not poor service, it is no service.

The postal person delivered our mail last week and there were several mailing returned with postage due. Pat (our financial advisor) was reaching in his pocket to pay for the fees due ($12.00; plus or minus) when the postal carrier said that we could refuse them and I let him know we had changed the mailings to not be returned. He never once said there would be repercussions to refusing them. Since then we did not receive our mail for several days. We had been waiting for over $100 in stamps plus client mailings. When we didn't get any mail, we were concerned our mail was being taken. I called USPS’s stamp department and they said that the carrier had stamped the package delivered on Friday, which was not true as we never received any mail.
We also never received any notification from the post office or carrier that they were holding our mail. The fees now are higher than the carrier had stated the first time. When I called for assistance, a customer service representative was evasive and was not able to provide me accurate information. I called back to speak to a supervisor. One was not available, so Lynn at the customer service department took all the information and said she would get back to us. I am shocked that the mail can be held in such a fashion without any warning or consideration. We did only what the carrier had suggested since we had changed the return notification set up. The post office said that the mail was being held at the carrier's request. We would greatly appreciate it if this could be looked into.

I have been waiting for a package to be delivered to my house. It was scanned through the sorting facility in Melville, NY on July 28. It has been almost 2 weeks. Status: processed through sort facility. “Your item was processed through and left our Melville, NY 11747 facility on July 28, 2009. The item is currently in transit to the destination. I have recently earned a doctorate degree. My diploma was mailed from the University via USPS. A large cardboard envelope clearly marked "DIPLOMA. DO NOT BEND" was shoved into a mail box 1/2 the envelope's size. Our front door is not 15 steps away from the mail box. The diploma was bent and creased - unsuitable for framing - clearly damaged. I am whole-heartedly disappointed in such poor service.

I have been trying to track a package that was going to the wrong address. I have spoken to a dozen different people. Everyone tells me something different. One says send back to sender, another says send back to post office, another says sends to Charlotte, another says it will be destroyed. I also heard that it will not be redelivered. Well, it was never delivered so I'm out about $25.00. Your postal service really needs some work. Half of the employees are clueless.

For today, 2009-08-06, we still have no answer for this parcel. We are really, really upset about this happening to the wedding and surprised that USPS lost my customer's parcel. We hope this complaint may help me out to check where her wedding Gown and Jacket is. Customer paid extra money to order another set of gown and spend extra for rush service fee.

On July 16, 2009, I mailed my documents priority mail with a delivery confirmation required. I received a call from the company (CitiMortgage) on August 3, 2009 inquiring as to why they haven't received the documents that I mailed on July 16, 2009. CitiMortgage and I went online to track the package. The package was mis-sent on July 18, 2009 and then delivered to a different city on July 21, 2009. The CitiMortgage representative had no idea where Hagerstown, MD was located and neither did I. The USPS did not deliver the package to the correct address.
I called USPS (1-800-ASK-USPS) to inquire about my package and to have them retrieve and redeliver to the correct address. I spoke with a USPS customer service representative, and he gave me a confirmation number. The USPS representative also stated that someone would contact me within 24 hours concerning my package. On Thursday, August 6, 2009, I called USPS customer service for status on my package and to find out why no one has called me from USPS. The only thing that they could do was to open another report requesting someone to contact me within 24 hours. I instructed them to go pick up my package and redeliver it. The USPS customer service representative stated that USPS doesn't retrieve mail.
This is an issue for me, because the package contains loan documents, which included all of my personal information. I requested to speak to a supervisor and asked for a refund. I was informed that I couldn't receive a refund from priority mail. I was then transferred to a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that the computer system was down. I couldn't believe the system was down within 2 minutes of the call being transferred.

I had an insured package sent to Florida on 1/2/09. This was a vanity that was being returned to the seller. It arrived damaged. My local post office told me that an insurance claim had to be filed with the damaged item. It was taken to the Palmetto Lakes Post Office from the receiver's warehouse sometime around the end of January, beginning of February. After months of not hear anything regarding the claim, I contacted the main processing of the post office for insurance claims. They had no record of the claim and said I had to contact the office where the claim was filed. I contacted the seller for the name of the post office. They had to contact their warehouse.
By the time they got back to me, it was early May. I spoke with someone there who took all my information and promised to call me back. When they did not, I faxed a letter and the insurance information on 5/27/2009. Still no response. I called again and was told Al was in charge of insurance claims, so I faxed the information again. After this, I began taking notes of my contact with the office:
6/12 - I spoke with LeAnne who said it was being processed and would call me on 6/156/15 - no call
6/24 - I spoke with Francine who said she had someone working on it.
6/29 - I spoke with LeAnne who said she was processing it
7/15 - I spoke with LeAnne who said a letter is on the way.
7/27(?) - I spoke with the main processing center who said the claim has yet to be filed.
7/29 9:50 a.m. - I spoke with Francine who said LeAnne started work at 10 and she would have her call me as soon as she got in.
7/29 3:30 p.m. - I called LeAnne. She said my claim was not submitted yet because she did not have approval yet and was waiting for a call back, also, that I could not get the full price back because it was only slightly damaged.
When I relayed my story to the main processing center, they suggested I contact Consumer Affairs. Hope you can help.

I sent an item with tracking (number **) and insurance. The item arrived at the destination, but is damaged. I cannot have items become damaged in transit as it causes me to have to refund the money that the customer paid for the product. When this happens, I lose a sale and often get bad feedback on the system that I use to sell the product. This stops sales. Also, I lose the profit for the package that I've sent via USPS.

I shipped an item to a customer. The item has never been delivered. I shipped it with tracking. The tracking number is: **. After my customer contacted me stating they had not received the product, I checked the tracking status on usps.com. Here is what it said:

This has not been updated since I called on July 14th. I've called many times. The USPS just keeps saying that they are contacting the sort facility to find out what is going on with the package, but they never have an answer. Also, they even said they were going to contact their consumer affairs department for me. However, that department never got back to me. I do not know what to do. I have never had a product lost in the mail that has had a tracking number attached to it before. This is inexcusable. The problems with two packages I have sent through the USPS in the past month and a half have caused the stop of my product sales on one of the online services I used to sell products due to customer feedback complaints and refund requests. As a result, my income from that is gone.

It's terrible service and help with getting mail delivered to new mail box. I sent a complaint last fall with no response. Julio ** and her mother are friends, so they make sure her complaints got "round filed, " this coming from an employee of the Eagle Creek post office. The postmaster herself filed a complaint that went nowhere so she got transferred because nothing got dealt with. She said "you'll be lucky if you even get your mail" when pressed for information on who to contact about a complaint. Why hasn't anyone ever responded? Does my complaint get round filed also?

My mail box was "stuffed" with items that should not have been folded, bent and stuffed to the very rear of the box, so that lots of mail could be pushed and fit into the box. In the box was a card 8.5 inches by 4.5 inches in with the mail. The "Dog Warning Card, Dangerous Dog" were crossed off and "Parcel" was scribbled across the card. There was no attempt to deliver. We were home all day. The mail has been coming very late and I presume the carrier thought they were too late to take the time to deliver and left the card so I would drive the 5 miles each way to pick up the box, if the card means there is a box! I doubt if this was the regular carrier. Her delivery is quite good.

The mortgage company applied a late fee of $30.00. I tried to get reimbursement from the Hillcrest postal store for my fee for the priority mail and the late fee that was applied to the mortgage. They would not reimburse any of the fees. They said that the priority mail was not guaranteed. The Hillcrest postal store or the US Postal Service website does not give any information about priority mail other than it takes 2-3 days for delivery. I moved in the beginning of April, and at that time, I went online to change my address. All the information that was provided was correct as far as the new address. When the mail started to arrive, I noticed that the apartment number was incorrect. It's 321 and was written as 312. I went online again to note the discrepancy. I was told that it would be corrected. In about a week, I received a call from Bob at the Carlisle post office. He apologized and said that they would correct the problem. As of 8/1/09, the problem remains the same.
I went back online and submitted a correction. The post office now wants me to pay $4.95 to make the corrections. I called the Carlisle office and was told that I would need to pay for "my mistake." When I reminded them that it was their error, I was told to call back before 11 in the morning. Since I will be working, I find that this is an inconvenience. I will call, but I did not like the tone of voice that was used by the person on the phone or the assumption that I was the person in error. If the problem had been solved when it originally happened, I would not be writing this complaint. Thank you for listening.

I purchased an electronic audio adapter for my girlfriend's BlackBerry and had it mailed to her at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas where she is stationed while on active duty. The article's tracking number indicates that it was delivered on July 14, 2009. However, the post office on base cannot locate it and has not been helpful in trying to find it.
I think this is unacceptable. Our service men and women deserve better than to have their mail mishandled while they are away from home and trying to maintain some sense of connection to their loved ones. Is receiving mail so difficult? My girlfriend's building and apartment number were clearly on the package and the post office seemingly made no attempt to either deliver it to the building or to contact her directly.
I hope this is not indicative of how mail is generally handled on our military bases. My girlfriend has heard complaints from other enlisted and reservist service people. Not acceptable. The US Military owes us for the adapter and I will attempt to get them to pay for it on my next visit. The adapter cost $9.00. My girlfriend's job is as medic in the base hospital and she has had to take time from her responsibilities to try to deal with this during work hours when the post office is open.

I had a $600 camera I purchased off Amazon used. The person shipping would only use USPS. The camera made it from Bronx, NY to Decatur, IL. It arrived on 7/27/2009. I contacted my local post office and asked if I could pick it up (I live across the street) .They stated no. I had to wait for it to be 'attempted' to be delivered. And they assured me it would be delivered the next day. Well, it came and went and no package. I called them and they again assured me it would be delivered the next day. Again, it came and went.
When I called them back, they stated they did now know where the package was and would contact me when they knew more. They called me back and told me it was being shipped to Bloomington, IL about 30 minutes north of me. The supervisor (Allen) I spoke with stated he did not know why it was going there but would see if he could get it stopped so I could just drive up there and get it. While waiting for Allen to call me back, I made a joke to my friend that my camera is probably hiding out in Chicago.
About that time, the phone rang and Allen informed me for some reason my camera had been shipped to Elk Grove, IL which is near Chicago. He once again did not know why and when he attempted to call the processing center it was at, no one would answer the phone. He told me that from the center, it would be returned to Decatur. Well it wasn't. It is currently in the middle of Missouri in a Podunk post office. I'm currently in the process of trying to get my camera redirected to home. The USPS really need to take some tips from UPS and FedEx and get tracking bar codes on all packages, so they know where they are at all times. If anything worse should happen, I'll let you know.

Two days later, I checked, and got information that it had been delivered to Hermiston, OR. I immediately went to the main post office and calls were made, but they could not find out where it was. I was told Rachel, the supervisor, would check into it, and would call me. She hasn't. I expect that I will be charged the $143.12, because the post office failed to deliver the package to the Hollywood, FL address. Can I file a claim against the post office? If so where? On July 28, 2009, I received a letter (dated the same day) in which I was present at my residence. I went inside and telephoned Pete ** in regards to the letter about my dog being involved in a situation that I know was false. I believe that the postman has either mistaken my dog with another dog or he is discriminating against me for some reason or another. As I called Pete, I asked him to describe the dog that was involved but he refused to describe the said dog in question. He said I had to describe my dog (I felt this was wrong, to have me describe my dog.).
I did reveal that my dog was small, and a friendly dog. He mentioned that the dog was vicious and bit the postman. I know on July 28, 2009, my dog was not outside (the mailman came approx. 10:30-11:00 am). I was inside my home, asleep with my dog on the couch, with my 4 children. And, I know that on July 27, 2009, my dog was not outside either due to an accident in my yard. The Fresno police dept. was investigating a vehicle that they were in pursuit with that hit my tree in my yard (I live at a dead end street.).
Since Mr. ** didn't either know the description of said dog or didn't want to reveal any information to me, I attempted to try to find other sources to help me with this situation. On these attempts, I was given many different stories. I cannot change my breed of dog nor color markings. I contacted a female at the toll free number in the phone book who called Pete for a description of the dog involved and she called me back and said he mentioned it was a small dog (no color, no markings, and no description of a color of the collar). She said for me to go ahead and call the postal overhead supervisor, so I did (on the 29th of July).
She returned my call on July 29 with the same information as the prior lady and that he bit the postman, and I mentioned to her I told Pete it was a small dog already. She said she would call me back again. On July 31, 2009, she returned my call again (she stated she called on 7-30-09 but sorry, I didn't receive any calls nor missed calls or voice mails on my cell phone from her) and the only information she gave was the dog was a small dog again, and it was a white dog. My dog is white, brown, and tan. She said that I had to describe my dog as well. I mentioned to her it was a Shih Tzu and yes, he had white on him but they can't say if the dog had any disgusting marks. She mentioned the postman pepper sprayed the dog (my dog was not pepper sprayed).
I then had a new groomer groom my dog and he has been in business for many years. According to him, but this was the 1st time I used him as a groomer. He said that had my dog been pepper sprayed, it would have left a sticky film on him and caused an irritation to his skin. I had him verify that my dog had no such traces of pepper spray and that my dog is not vicious. I can have more people verify that this is true: Christian with Comcast Cable, as well as many others who will verify it, the PG&E meter readers, the phone services technicians and maintenance repair services and the Fresno Police Dept. officers who were out on 7-27-09.
Please, I honestly believe that this postman, as well as the post offices, needs to be really investigated and questioned. My dog was not out on 7-28-09 nor on 7-27-09.

This package arrived at the Laurel Canyon Post Office in California and vanished. I have not received any satisfactory answers as to why or how this could have happened and as a consumer, I feel like the Post Office is a closed corporation against anyone finding out why something like this could happen. Since it's 3000 miles away from where I am located, it's not like I can drop in and ask them personally and they know this. On July 23rd, 2009, I called my local Post Office and they called California for me and spoke with the delivery supervisor on duty at the time, Ed ** and he said for me to call him and he would check into the circumstances. I tried calling him on July 24th and was told that he was not there but would return on Tuesday by a Marina at 4:42 CST and she asked me if she could help me. I told her that I was trying to locate a package which had arrived at their PO but had not been delivered. She asked for the tracking number, looked it up and then asked for my telephone number and said she would speak with the carrier and call me back.
I again tried to call on Tuesday, July 28th for Ed ** but was told that he was not there but would be there on Wednesday the 29th. On Wednesday the 29th, I called and asked to speak with Ed ** and was put on hold for him for 5 minutes. Someone came back on the line and asked if he had picked up and I said no and they put me back on hold for 10 more minutes, at which point, I hung up and redialed because I am paying for this call and I asked not to be put on hold since I am calling long distance, and I again asked to speak to Ed. The person that answered said that Ed is not there and would not be there until next week and I said that I had been put on hold for him two times already and why wasn't I told that he wasn't there then? I then explained that I had just been assured the day before that he would in fact be scheduled to work on Wednesday and that I would like to speak with him and that he was expecting my call.
This person then said, "This is Marina and Ed is not here. He is on vacation and he will not be here until next week." I then said, "Marina, I spoke with you last week about a package that I was trying to track and you said you would look into it and call me back but I was supposed to speak with Ed about it." She then again asked me for the information and put me on hold and came back and said she had no more information on it. I asked if she ever contacted the carrier and I don't think she did. She then told me I needed to contact my local Consumer Affairs office and asked me if I wanted the number. I told her I did not and hung up.
My husband overheard this whole conversation since it was on the speaker phone and he just laughed and said Marina did not want me to talk to Ed since she was wearing my diamond earrings. I just wanted to speak with someone with some authority that could explain how a package could go missing or if any attempt had been made to locate it. The is what the package contained: brand new, never worn, 14K white gold studs 1.57CT purchased in December for $1250. I was returning them to the person I bought them from since the screw backs were damaged and she was going to replace them.

I had a poster tube destined for Norcross, GA. Not only was it rerouted to Columbus, OH, it was also physically delivered to an address there. I purchased a delivery confirmation and when the recipient still hadn't received it, I looked the information up. How it was actually delivered is beyond me. I spoke to a supervisor in Columbus who did some checking but could not give me a solid reason as to why it arrived there (which I could understand if it was caught and rerouted at that point) or why it was scanned as delivered.
The tube had no other markings except a large font computer-printed address label with a clear tape covering it. The zip codes were nowhere near similar. The USPS has been giving me the runaround for almost two weeks, and no one is accepting responsibility. They are actually defensive about their postal carrier, who, by their own admission, actually made the delivery without looking at the address it was supposed to go to!
Without purchased insurance, the USPS has no motivation or care to resolve the situation. This is not a lost or damaged package. It is a clear case of USPS negligence. With postage rates going up every 6 months, despite relative stability of gas prices, I don't see any improvement to their services and don't want to shoulder the increased rates due to their loss of profitability.

I put a stop mail delivery request via email to the USPS.com. I received my confirmation number and everything was fine, that was on 07/23/2009. On 07/24/2009, I was told that my vacation which was to be for two weeks was cancelled. I went back to USPS.com to edit my request to recommence the delivery of my mail, which was to take place the next business day, 07/24/2009. Today and 7 requests later, I still have no mail being delivered. The infamous "helpline" was worthless and should be considered an embarrassment to the postal service. I call the helpline everyday as well as sending 2 to 3 emails a day in order to get my mail delivered.
The local post office where my mail is delivered from does not accept phone calls. The message refers you to the US post office 800 number. Can you believe the carelessness and the ignorance of these people? All I wanted is to have my mail delivered. Whatever happened to nor winter, rain, snow, sleet, heat will prevent the US mail from getting through. I guess these days, that must mean FedEx or UPS.

I purchased chicken eggs from www.eggbid.com and spent like $74.00 for eggs and shipping via Priority Mail (no Insurance)! I called the post office on Friday when they were due in and personally talked to the post master (Troy). He stated they were not in yet but would keep his eyes open for them. This was on Friday, and the computer showed them scanned into the Fremont office at 9 am that day. I called again on Saturday with the same response. I explained to him that we have a physical address and P.O. Box. They were shipped to the physical address, and were to be clearly marked in bold writing with our phone number to call us upon arrival. Well, I called back on Monday. Again, I was told they were not there! He assured me that he had everyone looking out for these eggs, and we would get a phone call as soon as they arrived. So again, I called back on Tuesday and was told they had been there since Friday, but got "put into the populated mail". What the heck does that mean?
We paid for priority mail which should have been delivered by Friday, which it was, but your post office lost it and we did not get in until Tuesday afternoon. Needless to say, the chicken eggs went too long for the incubation period and none of them were any good! $74.00 down the drain. Thanks, post office. Troy at the post office felt very badly about this matter and said it will never happen again! Well, about 3 or 4 weeks later, my husband wants to try this again! Same seller, but this time, $80.00, and we call the post office prior to shipping arrangements! I talked to Troy at Fremont post office, and he assured us this time it would not happen again and that shipping priority over express would not be necessary! He would personally see to that.
Well the package came in, but for some reason, when they shipped it, there was postage due (which the seller swears is an error). So I went to the post office to get the package as soon as I get the call. Line of customers was about 15 people and there was one employee at the desk. Another post master peeked his head out the door and asked if anyone is there just to pick up package. So I said, "Yes, I'm here to pick up chicken eggs." The lady behind me informed me that she has a "chickery" so we begin our "chicken and chicken egg talk." Next thing I know, the man that went to get the package yells, "Hey, there is postage due. You will have to wait in line," and then slams the box sideways down on the back counter! The lady behind me says, "I sure hope those were not your eggs!" Well, of course, they were!
The box was clearly marked in dark, red, bold writing on every side with word "fragile" and arrows up! Please explain to me how the post office cannot be held responsible for their actions. We should not have to pay additional $17.00 plus for insurance as the post office needs to do their job correctly. Holding packages days after the delivery date, cracking and ruining the eggs should fall on the post office's shoulders! I'm requesting a full reimbursement for both of these items! $74.00 + $80.00 = $154.00. I got nowhere with the local level or the "supervisor". I will also add that it took several phone calls back and forth from one person to another. Everyone felt this was not their problem to listen to. I was very disappointed. Based on your prompted attention to this matter, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

A small package was mailed to me from Germany under registered mail on 5/2/09. I was able to track it on the USPS website until it reached Customs in New York on 5/4/09. Then on, I waited over a month and nothing showed up. In late June 2009, the seller notified the German post office on my behalf and an inquiry was filed with USPS about the missing package. A letter of inquiry was sent to me asking if I received the package or not. I mailed back the inquiry stating, "No, I did not." Since then, I have not heard anything further from USPS about the missing package nor received anything in the mail.
Today, 7/27/09, I called their international tracking and confirm hotline only to have the post office worker tell me that, “You can only request further information about this package through the German post office." I do not live in Germany and this is a great inconvenience for me, especially when USPS themselves admitted (through their tracking website) that the package is already in US Customs in NY. The worker told me over the phone that I cannot do anything further about this because it is only a registered mail item and cannot be tracked further. What is the point of paying the extra registered mail fee only to have USPS hold no responsibility over mail they lost? In fact, the worker adamantly claimed the package never made it to the US until I pointed out to her that I only knew the package arrived to New York through the USPS website.

They managed to give me the papers that were inside the letter but not the contents that had been in the letter. It made me very mad because I had been awaiting this letter for 2 weeks. And I just found out that I had gotten the letter in a condition which appeared like someone had opened it down the middle as if someone were to read what was inside. My husband printed, paid for, and got his business envelopes (eight in all), ready at his home office. I needed to mail a priority package, and so he wanted to take his packages inside the post office to make sure they were scanned, as a client was waiting for them. He usually has the post office pick them up at the house, but as we recently moved, and the nearest post office is conveniently right next to the post office, we went together. At our old post office, they have a do-it-yourself station, which I would normally use, but not at this station.
First off, there were more than 10 people in line, with only 2 clerks there. Then, one of the clerks was talking and socializing after the transaction with another customer, delaying the line further. When we finally arrived at the clerk, she had no idea what to do with the envelopes my husband had, and he told her they were already paid for and addressed. She spent about 10 minutes in the back, while the line kept growing, and finally emerged with a supervisor. I don't know the supervisor or the clerk's name, but the time was 2:24 p.m., and the clerk's number is **.
This happened today, July 22, 2009. The transaction number was **, if that will help, and the supervisor was a truly unpleasant woman with long blond hair. The clerk and the supervisor told us (they both were talking at the same time, so it was at times difficult to make out), that the zip code was not their zip code (they have a slightly different code than ours, but we live less than two miles from their building). They said they would take my husband's packages "today," but they have to account for their "window time," and that we are "required" to use their zip next time.
Let me just say, there will not be a next time. Neither my husband nor I felt like getting into it with them then, but those two are the epitome of what customer service should not be like. I don't enjoy being spoken to like a child, and even if there is some "rule" about zip codes (which is silly, because if we dropped them off in the box outside, someone from that office still has to scan the packages in), there are certainly more nice and pleasant ways to make this known to the customer. I did go online to the website at the bottom of the receipt for my package that I mailed, but it is not specific, only addressed checked boxes, and will do nothing to improve customer service. I know it is a governmental agency, but it is still a customer-oriented business, and they should learn how to treat customers.

Robert ** is the Global Express Guaranteed specialist who is investigating about my package. I will tell you that his job is the worst and I will definitely never send any other package with this people. He never answered my calls. I felt that they are playing with my emotions because I want my guaranteed money back! Now, I lost an important client for my business and with the economy now, I can't afford losing clients for the negligence of others.

Package was shipped out July 6 and supposedly they left a notice which I did not even receive. I would know because I am home during the day on July 8. So I went to the local post office at 101 East Olney Ave. on Saturday, July 11, and they stated they cannot find the package. So they took all my information and said they will call me back. I made numerous calls and until today, which is July 15, someone called me with no conclusion. I went there again today and the same thing: they did not find the package.
I guess it’s to stop me from calling them. I assume they lost the package or foul play. Tomorrow, if I see the carrier, I will have to ask them if did they deliver or even tried to deliver and to see who was delivering that day to see what’s going on. Numerous calls and USPS’ customer service tone of voice didn't care less. I hope they can find it or a resolution to it. I was purchasing a phone and was in need since it was damaged. That was at least a few days (very inconvenient). Now, USPS does not know where the package is and is just causing it to be much more stressful and much more inconvenient since I do not have a phone.

I would like to be reimbursed by USPS for $5.12 for an unnecessary extra shipping due to an error by USPS. And I would like an apology for poor service. On 5/13/09, I mailed my son's eyeglasses from Oregon to Utah. The cost of the package, including insurance, was $2.25. A week later, they had not arrived at my son's apt. On 5/22, I checked with our post office in Troutdale, OR 97060 (very helpful) and they said they were scanned on 5/16 in Provo, UT 84606 as undeliverable and were on their way back to Oregon.
I tried the USPS 800# and was told I couldn't file a claim for 21 days. I found out my son gave me a wrong apt. # (#S308 instead of #N308). The original mistake was his. He had just moved to this new apt. and had been mistaken on one letter of the address. On 6/3 and 6/6, I called our post office again and they had not arrived from UT. I called the post office in Utah. They were also helpful, but said the glasses had been sitting there for someone to come and pick them up. We had no idea we were to pick them up. We were last told they were on their way to Oregon!
I called UT again, a week later, and was told that the package was sent to a forwarding address in Georgia! The glasses were sent to the wrong person. Up until 4/09 in Utah, two of my sons were living together. They each filed a change of address. One moved to another apt. in the same town, and one moved to Georgia. USPS sent the package to the wrong person/address. They sent it to Jason ** in Georgia, instead of Erik ** in Utah! I can see where it was an easy mistake to make, but a very big deal to a son with very poor eyesight awaiting glasses.
I called USPS (800#). After much time being routed around because the tracking number said no information available, I finally got a helpful gentleman who took all the information down. He said they would get the glasses from the wrong person/address in Georgia and send them back to UT. He said I would get a call back in one business day. Eight business days later, I called again. This time, I got a very unhelpful person. She was difficult to understand, and said all she could do was tell me that I had called twice and they were to get back to me within one day. I told her it had been eight, and they didn't call. She said she could do nothing. If I wanted to, I could complain to the Consumer Affairs Office over USPS. I asked for the post office number in Georgia.
I called Warner Robins, GA 31098 and another very helpful woman said she tried to help me, which she did not. I tried to get my son's address, but he was at Officer Training with the Air Force in Alabama for six weeks. Upon his return, he gathered all his mail and there were no glasses. In the meantime, I spoke with the postmaster in Oregon. She was also very helpful, but said I couldn't file a claim because the package was delivered to Georgia. Finally, I was able to get an address, called GA back and they said they didn't have them; they would be on the AF base. I called the AF base mail service and a helpful man there found them. He said he could not mail them back. My son went in and was able to get them and mail them back to UT.
They just arrived yesterday, 7/13/09, two months later! Aside from waiting for two months for a very crucial, insured package and paying extra postage, I also had to pay $25 overage charges on my phone for all the extra minutes I put on. We've had this play for more than three years, and have never gone over on minutes. There was a lot bigger cost here than $30. Postal employees in three states and my family members in three states were involved. This cost many people much time. I understand the first address error was my son’s, but sending a package to the wrong person is not acceptable. Along the way, all of the postal employees I encountered were very nice, except two of the 800# calls.
I spent many years in retail and many more in advertising and public relations. Happy customers were the result we wanted. I hope you do also. Please be more careful with forwards. Luckily, this was forwarded to another family member, but the consequences could have been a lot worse. Thank you for your time.

I went to the post office to buy 1- or 2-cent stamps. I had my 10-pound dog with me. I tied her on the handle of the double doors to the post office as they don't allow dogs in the post office. I could also watch the dog as I was waiting on the line. It took about 10 minutes to be called for service.
As I approached the clerk, she asked me what I needed. I told her I needed fifty 1- or 2-cent stamp. She pulled it just as I was handing to her my credit card. She noticed the dog behind the glass door and said, "You cannot bring a dog here." I said, "She is outside." She replied, "Still, you cannot bring her to the building." I replied, "Why don't you please give me the stamps and I'll leave." She replied, "No (still holding the stamps in her hand), I cannot service you." With her head, she pointed at the clerk next to her indicating I should go to him. I went to him. He said, "If my co-worker does not want to serve you, I cannot serve you either." A customer next to me looked at me said, "I cannot believe this. Ma'am, give me your dog. I wait for you outside." I thanked her very much.
I came back and when I came back, the clerk were talking about me and laughing. I paid no attention. I went to the male clerk and as I was standing there, he was talking and laughing, and making faces with the other clerk about this. I said, "You know, that is not nice. You are making fun of me." They continued, and he said, "What do you want?" I said, "1- or 2-cent stamp. He was really rude, then again turned to the same clerk making faces. Both were laughing and making fun of me. I am 70 years old. I said to the young male clerk from whom I was trying to get my stamps, "You know, that is not nice. If you behaved like this in a private corporation, you would be fired." He replied, 'You should go to a plastic surgeon". I was shocked and I looked at him, and I said, "You should, for your big nose".
He replied, "Look at your skin color (I am from Mediterranean and dark complected)." I was really upset, and I said, "How dare you.? I need to speak to your supervisor," and he went back somewhere to get the supervisor. I was so upset, the third clerk said, "Ma'am, you should calm down." I replied, "How would you react if some one humiliated you by saying go to a plastic surgeon and look at your skin?"
She said, "I don't think he would say something like that." I waited and waited and waited, about 5-8 minutes. No supervisor, no clerk came to see me. Then I asked the third clerk to give me information to file formal complaint. I am calling the supervisor at that branch because as he did not even come to the front to see me. I don't expect much help from him and the three clerks really ganged up and humiliated me and insulted me. I came home in tears.

We had been insidiously not been receiving and losing mail over the past three weeks and finally it came to a halt. Our mail consisted of medical reports, social security communications including Medicare card, parcel from Amazon.com, Journal of Radiology from the ARRS, JAMA, Diagnostic Imaging, Cancer, local magazines, and international magazines by subscription. These are all we can stock of now. We do not know what else has been lost. The local Orange sorting office was completely hostile and the supervisor refused to talk with our carrier. He also gave us a lecture of how things were not maintained on record for every item received.
Today, an article with delivery confirmation was not received by us and they refused an explanation. I do have some confirmation numbers from calling 1-800-ASK-USPS #OR** and #CV**. The last I received was a written explanation of having forwarded this to the nearest Consumer Affairs office concerned with our region. This has happened in the past when I lost numerous parcels from my online school and I had a postal inspector come home to check this out especially since the school mailed postal articles at least three times on one occasion and twice on several. They refuse to take any responsibility. Mr. ** even made not too pleasant comments on my mom's Medicaid status! This seems to mean that they are looking through our mail, as we did not reveal this information to him.
We don't know what to expect in the mail anymore. This has been a repeated pattern. They have either bungled or lost our mail. They would not deliver when our apartment changed its numbering from Building ** to Apt ** though we were physically in the same address. I get communications about conferences from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Harvard, etc., on occasions and so I have no idea of what I have missed in the mail so far. This is so disconcerting that we have decided not to use USPS for parcels and switch to UPS and FedEx and to avoid using them as much as possible.

I am writing to complain that I get no mail delivery on my side of the street. If I had known I had to pay for mail service, I would never have bought this house. It is unfair, backdoor tax of the people on this side of the street. If we wanted to have our mail delivered "closer", we would have to put a mailbox across the street in front of an elementary school where it would be vandalized and/or stolen by the school children or their parents. This box would only be accessible if we cross a busy highway state route 7 to collect our mail. This is both dangerous and unfair. The people on my side of the street pay taxes and rising post office box fees for shoddy service and dangerous inconvenience.
Everyday, either I or my husband have to walk to the post office if we want to get our mail - winter, summer, spring or fall. Also, the post office box fees ($20 every 4-6 months) are too high and we are given too little notice for when they must be paid. A notice envelope is put into our box two weeks before the fee is due and this is always a surprise. We live on a very tight budget and are never given any notice of which month the fee is coming. I don't understand why the postal service treats us like this, perhaps to generate income. But it is not right that we should have to bear the burden of poor fiscal planning just because we live on the "wrong" side of the street.

Many times over I complained and they would call and state the problem would be resolved, which after about 7 months of receiving my mail damaged, due to snow then rain, they finally started to close my mailbox lid. However, now I am not receiving mail hardly at all. As of this date, July 10th, 2009, it has been 4 days since we last received mail. Prior to that, there have been times where we do not receive mail. Incredible for a new homeowner. There are bill collectors calling and saying that our mail is undeliverable or returned to sender. Very confusing.
There are checks and important documents that should have been received by now and no one can give me a straight answer. The Randallstown branch post office forwarded my mail in error to my ex-husband forwarding address in Frankford, Delaware. Apparently, he completed a change of address card for himself and marked individual, but the postal worker just looked at the last name and forwarded all of my mail for up to two weeks to his address out of state. I inquired about this in person on 6/30/09 because when I went to get my mail from my PO box, I had only two catalogs and no mail. I went to the desk and spoke with the clerk. I explained to her that I'm a domestic violence victim who recently filed for a divorce and I wanted to make sure that he hadn't tried to do anything with my mail. I explained that I had the only keys to my box, but that I've always had a nice amount of mail to the point that I've been asked if I wanted to upgrade.
I was told that everything was in order and I had no other mail. I returned to the Randallstown post office on 7/6/09 to get my mail and also to check on a certified package from my girlfriend in New Jersey. To my surprise again, I had no mail, only a coupon from Bed, Bath & Beyond. This time, I requested to speak with the person who puts the mail in the box, but the postmaster Denean came forward to speak with me. I explained my situation and expressed my concern, based on my personal situation. When she returned from checking, she advised me that my name had been scratched off of my PO box and asked if I had put in a change of address. I immediately told her no and that I had inquired about this last week. She said she needed to check to see if a change of address had been received.
She returned and told me that one had been submitted and asked me who was Bryan **. I explained he was my ex-husband and we aren't on good terms. She explained that he had submitted a change of address for individual and not family, but unfortunately, all of my mail had been forwarded in error. She then assured me that even though they had made a mistake, that because the first names does not match all of my mail would be returned, but it could take up to two weeks. This process took almost an hour and I was late for work as a result of it. I then called my girlfriend and asked her to track the package she sent me. Once she contacted me with the confirmation number, delivery date and time, I went back by the post office and presented them with the confirmation number because my girlfriend was told it was delivered, but I didn't have it and it wasn't at the Randallstown post office.
Eventually, a supervisor came out instead of the postmaster this time. Her name was Anita and she had printed out the tracking paperwork and asked me who Frank ** was. I advised her that he's my father-in-law and that my husband uses his address as his mailing address. She told me that my certified packaged was delivered in error again to him and he signed for it. She then told me she would see if the Delaware post office could have the carrier pick it back up. She also suggested I try calling my father-in-law or my ex-husband and ask him to return it to me. She requested my name and my number on 7/6/09 at approximately 5:20PM and said she would contact them in the morning and call me afterwards. I never heard back from her the next day and eventually phoned her on 7/7/09 in the afternoon.
I told her I had spoken with both my father-in-law and my ex-husband. My father-in-law admitted to signing for the package that day and receiving mail for me on several occasions. He stated that he gave all of my mail to Bryan each time it came and he also gave him my unopened package. He then put Bryan on the phone and Bryan also admitted to having my mail, but stated it was all junk mail, so he threw it away. I asked why he didn't call me to let me know and he said he'd been busy. I advised him that I had confirmed that my phone bill, credit card statements and other important mail had been mailed to me and I know that it wasn't all junk mail. And even still it's my junk mail. He said my phone bill just came, so I asked him to gather my mail and my package and return them to the post office or to the carrier.
Two days later, on 7/9/09, I returned to the Randallstown post office to get my mail and see if the certified package had made it back to them. This time, I had little mail and a slip for the certified package. I turned it in and received a large silver envelope that had been cut open and taped. I immediately asked for the postmaster or the supervisor again. I wanted to know what I could do because he had opened my package. She took it in the back and showed the postmaster and returned and said, "Yes it was definitely opened, but you'll have to call this number." She handed me a piece of paper with this number (1800-372-8347) and said there's nothing they can do because people open other people's mail all the time. I would have to get the local police involve or contact the postal inspectors.
I also called the general toll-free number for the post office and was told nothing could be done because it was just a mistake, not intentional. I expressed this could have and still might cost me my life because my ex-husband now has information on me and know where I live. I was again told to contact the local authorities because once mail is delivered, it's considered to be personal property. I explained that I was having a hard time understanding how the post office could make such a mistake and then just say "you fix it" regardless of the time, money or danger it may pose for me.
The supervisor was way more helpful than the postmaster, but when I asked for something in writing indicating or supporting that my mail had been forwarded to Delaware to my ex-husband's mailing address so I could try to file a report for the destruction of my property (mail) and or to try to get my phone bill and other mail back, I was told there was nothing they could give me. So who's covering who? I also phoned 1-877-876-2455 to file a formal complaint. I've been re-victimized so many times by the very systems in place to uphold and protect. I'm upset and very worried about just how much of my information has been compromised.

My daughter came home in June from medical school in Grenada. While she was home, she ordered her books for her last semester. We received her books and decided to send them on to Grenada so that she would not have to carry them as well as her luggage. I took them to the Post office here in Port Saint Lucie and the clerk told me that it would take 7-10 days for arrival. I told her that it was fine, they will be there before she starts class. This was June 18th. Twenty three days (23) later, she has not received her books, nor did she receive the other box with her soap, face towels, water bottle and other personal items. The post office charged me $112.30 for the two Priority mail/flat rate boxes with an additional $150.00 insurance.
I went to the post office and explained to them that my daughter has started school and has been in class for two weeks and has no books which she needs desperately. They told me to call the international number, so I called 1-800-ask-USPS and got the runaround. No matter who you contact at the postal service, you end back up at square one. Finally, based on the info I gave them, they assigned the two packages a case number. Protocol now says that I have to wait for as much as sixty days for Grenada to respond. My daughter went to the post office and they told her that the customs numbers that I have do not exist. So I called the post office to file a claim because I have to spend another $200.00 for books plus shipping. Again I was blown off by the post office, telling me that I have done everything right and I can do no more at this time. I must wait out the sixty days before I can file a claim.
Yesterday, I drove 125 miles to Amerijet in Miami and sent another package to my daughter containing soap, washcloths, and toothpaste. Postage on those items was $45.00. The plane, Flt841, left Miami at 4:00 this morning and arrived in Grenada at 3:30 pm today. While our postal service is trying to get their head out, our Government needs to find another contractor who can run the postal service efficiently. I went all the way to the Inspector Generals office in Washington DC and ended back to square one (no packages). I wonder if the Postal Service would like to pick up the tab for my daughter's Medical Education. In sixty days, I'll file my claim but I promise to never use the postal system again and I would encourage all to take a lesson here. There certainly needs to be some extensive training here for postal employees because they all have different reasons and interpretations.

Yesterday, July 6, our personal mail (credit card statements, bills, etc.) was thrown on the stairs outside our building, instead of putting it in the designated mailboxes inside the building for each tenant. The mail was not separated, but was left as a pile. It was addressed to different addressees. Later that day, my neighbor brought me my GEICO bill. She told me that she found it on the sidewalk in front of our building.

So, apparently placing a change of address form when you move doesn't ensure that you'll actually receive mail at your new abode. At least not right away. See, I was recently put in a position in which I had to suddenly move out of my house. Myself, my brother and his girlfriend rented a house from an older lady month-to-month under the condition that she could ask us to leave at any time, with adequate notice of course. Well, circumstances ended up leaving her unable to give us adequate notice. So instead of picking up rent for the month, she came by and let us know it was time to pack up and find a new place.
A hasty apartment search turned out better than I ever could have hoped, as I ended up finding a nice, inexpensive apartment located not too far up the road from where I used to live. It's a great location and the apartment complex is filled with all sorts of great folks, but I digress. I promptly went to the USPS website as soon as I secured the new place and put in a change of address form for both myself and my disabled mother. However, for one reason or another, USPS was unable to verify my previous address via my credit card, so I had no other choice but to print up the forms and mail them out the next day. All appeared to be in order, as I received my final electric bill at my previous address within a week of moving. However, in the week following, I wasn't getting any mail. This wouldn't have been an issue as I normally don't get a whole lot of mail, but I was expecting movies from Netflix and a glance at their website showed that they had delivered my movies nearly a week beforehand to my new address. I had taken care to change my address everywhere I needed to, Netflix's website included, so it wasn't an issue of them not having my proper address on file.
A Google search revealed that I should put mine and my mother's names up inside my mailbox in a prominent, unmissable position so that the mail carrier knows to deliver mail addressed to us, as even with a change of address form on file the mail carrier can elect, entirely upon his own judgment, to refuse to deliver mail addressed to us at this location. However, doing so failed to yield better results as I was still getting messages from Netflix that my mail was being returned as undeliverable. I've since gone back and put mine and my mother's names on the back door of the mailbox, as well as on the bottom back facing outwards where it can't possibly escape the mail carriers notice. But I still have yet to receive the mail I expect to. I'm at my wit's end here. It's bad enough that the services I pay for are being rendered worthless by this fellow's seeming objection to do his job, but I'm expecting some time-sensitive mail to arrive that would cause me issues were it to not be delivered.

I have lodged several complaints about our mail carrier over the last 14 months. On June 26, 2009, I called 1-800-ASK-USPS to lodge another complaint. The mail carrier dropped my package out of her vehicle window. This package contained fertile chicken eggs. Since the person who sent it to me was told he could not put insurance on it, I was told that there was nothing I could do if there was a problem with the package. As of today, July 6, 2009, none of the eggs developed chicks.
I was supposed to receive another package of fertile chicken eggs on July 3, 2009. Instead, I got a slip of paper in my mailbox that said I had a package at the post office. I called and told them that I had no way of coming to get it and that if the package was left until Monday, the eggs would be no good. The postmaster from Medicine Lodge called me later in the day and basically told me that my only option was to find a way to go get the package.
I don't see why I should be out the money on the eggs, even though I did not have insurance on them. No one ever called me or sent me a note telling me that they were no longer going to deliver packages to my mailbox to "avoid any more problems" with the package deliveries. Shouldn't I have been told that they were no longer going to deliver packages to my mailbox? If I had known they were not going to, I would have asked the sender to deliver through UPS or FedEx. So now what do I do? Because of the lack of professionalism on the post office's part, I have just lost almost $40.00 on chicken eggs.

The 2 homes located on this property have the addresses as **b and **c. However, their mailbox is on the side of the road the business and houses are located.
I asked "if for safety reasons, could I move our mailbox next to theirs and not have to cross the state highway". The answer was the mail deliverer from Massena will not give up our mail delivery. The business was here before the houses. It is the same address as the houses, and yet we cannot have our mailbox on the safe side of the road. Our mailbox was hit by the snow plow last year and has not been found. We put up a new one the safe side of the road and Massena refuses to let the mail carrier who delivers to the houses' mailboxes to deliver to ours. I cannot run a business when she refuses to deliver our mail because suddenly she does not want an a on our mail address. Nor do I want to continually cross a highway when there is no need to. There are 2 mailboxes on the same property with the same address. Why can't ours be there? ** refuses to let me speak to her superior about this. The branch manager didn't care about the situation, said the client probably didn't mail the check, interrupted me while I was trying to explain the situation to her, and yelled at me that she would check the carrier's left over mail but other than that there was nothing that could be done. He said, “I just started and I don't think I can cash that.” He then looked inside his computer and drawer and said “I don't have enough money to cash that.” I said, “What do you mean, it's only for $50?” He said, “You'll have to come back later.” I said, no, I can't come back later and I want to speak to your supervisor. She walked in and said that's the way it is. They have what they have for money and the clerk, who (maybe) could cash that for you, is gone to lunch and his drawer is locked.
I was thinking I was in the Twilight Zone and that this can't be for real. I said again to the supervisor, you’re telling me that nowhere in this post office is there anyone with money that can cash my $50 money order. She said, no. I said that is not acceptable. I want the name of your supervisor and the number to call to speak to him or her. She left and the clerk said could you move so I can take the next customer, like my transaction has been completed. I moved and waited and then the supervisor came out with a piece of paper and it had the name on it, M. **, Consumer affairs.
I left and went into my car and called the number, someone named Amy answered and said that no one was in. I said to her, no one in your entire office building of Consumer Affairs is in. I thought maybe they were all out on holiday, but today is not a holiday. Then I said, is there any supervisor at all that is in? She said she was the only one in the entire building that was in. Well, I'm not saying she is a liar but please, she is the only one in the entire building that is in is difficult to believe. So I said okay, I hung up and called again to listen to the prompts on the phone. Good, prompt 4 said I could leave a message. I left a message in the general delivery, it didn't say who was going to get the message, so I said, I'd like to leave this message for M. **, told my story above and added where I work. We have separate bank, with much money so no customer can ever be turned away or told to come back later because we can't change the bill they give us, no matter how big it is. I recommended that they may try to do the same.
I said it was not an acceptable business practice for the post office to operate this way and that I would be returning tomorrow at the same time, with a tape recorder, so I can have proof of what was said to me. I said, thank you and hung up. The physical damage; I was going to use the money for lunch and gas for work today.

I had ordered a really expensive handbag on 6/11/09. I paid for an express mail so I can have that order delivered right to my door. Well, 12 days go by but I still have not received anything. When I went online to track my order and check the status, I found out that my item was delivered on 6/15/09 at 9:15 and it was signed by Xochilt ** (that's me). Apparently, someone signed the order using my name, when at that time and day, I was at work. Overall, someone forged my signature, which looks really fake, and that person took my order.

On May 1st, we sent a package to Mexico. As we wait to the clerk, a lady was complaining about the service, telling that they need to be more competitive, etc., we did not care. We spoke to the clerk and we ask to send the package. She asked what it was and we say is a Nintendo DS. She just opened an envelope, weighted the item and charged for it, and told us in 6 or 10 days it will be delivered.
We wait, until now, 1 month and half later and nothing, nor here or there. We went to the post office, and again, another lady complaining about that she could not get any help on her problem. When we talked with the clerk, she just said, “Nothing we can do about it, since it does not have a tracking number.” We asked again and she said, “There is nothing we can do,” and almost said in our faces next costumer.
We entered a # that we supposed to be a tracking #, when you enter it in their page, it just said that it has been accepted and no more further information is available. We went again and this time, another clerk spoke to us and this time he gave us a number. We called and they sent us to the post office. It’s ridiculous how they bounce the situation to the phone, to the office and nobody resolves the issue. Our family in Mexico found out that the package is in this side of the border. Due to it is an expensive item, it cannot go through because we are supposed to pay an expensive post to pay taxes and the clerk that day even ask us what it was and she knew it .
How it did come to her to suggest us another way to send it? If she knew about this issue, I supposed that she went through a train process and know what to send and how or maybe somebody one day is going to send a hazardous package and she is going to permit it. This one person is so uncompetitive that in the three times I have been there, two of them people complaining, and me of course. So it is been a long time and we do not know anything about the package is worth $300.00 and like I said, we ask for a suggestion on how to send it because it was our first time sending something by mail.

Apparently, the package reached Binghamton on June 19, 2009 at 5:00 am and someone at the postal office in Binghamton, New York sent the package back to New York. The package was sent to the White Plains Office, then to the airport (Jamaica Station), then to Yonkers where a notice was left stating to pick up the package. No reason was given for failure of delivery. Moreover, the post office is closed on Sunday. Therefore, I cannot pick up the package until Monday.

I have a Postal Deliverer who either considers themselves a great practical joker or just doesn't care too much for their job. Every day I get mail, my mailbox is left open. I have gone to my local post office and personally asked for this to stop. I have left little notes taped to the porch next to my mailbox asking politely for the mailbox lid to be closed. Neither action has worked in the slightest.
I have a mailbox that opens from the top, and in Michigan, the weather is known to change rapidly. There have been days that my mail has been ruined because the lid was left open allowing rain to pour into the box. I don't know what else to do about this problem. I'm going to have to buy a new mailbox soon if she (my delivery person) continues doing this because it is causing the hinges on my mailbox to rust.

My daughter is currently working in Shakopee as a summer student. She forwarded her keys to her apartment and post office for me to check her mail as I would be going to Arkansas. The letter arrived to me in Georgia empty, torn up and taped up with nothing in it. No statement from postmaster stating mail was damaged or anything, just empty. No one knows where the keys are and my daughter is out of her dorm. When she returns, keys will cost $100 each for on campus dorm and post office key for ASU campus.
As I have read some of the complaints from others around America concerning the USPS, it's time to do something about it, not just talk about it because it appears nothing is being done. So the people are going to have to take matters into their own hands. Either get your bills sent to you electronically online or start using FedEx or UPS. In this economy, somebody might want to start a business around the mail handling or delivery of mail for that matter. It's time to either boycott the postal service or protest to have them shut down. This is a shame that this kind of attitude and theft from the USPS is unacceptable. Maybe if we put them out of a job, they will see how the hell it feels. Enough talk. Contact your Congressman or representative and have them to hold USPS post masters' feet to the fire and make them accountable. Even if you have an item insured based on these comments, you're still basically giving your money away for free and still have to pay out of pocket for damages. This is a scam, if ever I seen it. Furthermore, it's time for the American people to say enough is enough. We should also be able to sue for damages.

I purchased an item through PayPal to be delivered by USPS. Tracking of item showed "delivered", although item was never received. I called Post Office and spoke with Chris (supervisor). I was told after "investigation", my normal postal carrier was on vacation and substitute carrier must have delivered package to wrong address. I contacted PayPal who said that because package showed via tracking as delivered, I was unable to get my money back. I called main postal services number and was told they were not liable, even though I received a letter from the local office stating that they were responsible for erroneously delivering the package.
At this point, I am out my package and my money. I have lost $40.00 and the dress I was supposed to wear to an event. I had to lay out additional money for a new dress. My feeling is that the post office believes that if you have no insurance on an item, it can be taken with no recourse, because they are not "responsible for items not delivered".

I mailed a package in May 2008 from Philadelphia to New Jersey and it got lost. It says it was processed in Philadelphia, but then it vanished. No one at the post office was helpful, they just state that I should have bought insurance. If they were the last ones to have it, shouldn't they be responsible for knowing where it is? I did buy delivery confirmation, which did confirm that it was never delivered. I had to refund the buyer $23.88 and now have complaints on my record for not delivering (since it was over a year ago, I can no longer view this online though).

I would like to make a formal complaint about an incident that happened with a postal employee today on 3rd Avenue between 58th and 59th St. I was driving down 3rd Ave. with a friend in my car to go to Home Depot to pick up a few things. As I was attempting to pull into a parking space, a postal truck pulled up very closely to the back of my car and would not go around. I assumed that he did not see me trying to park and I moved up and signaled for him to go around and that I wanted to park. He would not go around me and continued to follow closely terrorizing me as I moved upward. Since I didn’t have a lot of time, my friend got out and went into Home Depot to quickly get our items, but I still needed to pull into the space so that I would not be double parked on 3rd Ave.
I was not able to park in a space since the postal worker refused to go around my car. He then began beeping the horn continuously and then I was really becoming very scared since I then began feeling that he had targeted me. I sat very still for a few seconds, consumed by the loudness of the horn from the postal truck, and then he backed up and then pulled up next to me and shouted "You ** fat **!". He was yelling this over and over and then stopped for a red light. Everyone was looking at this tirade and it was completely unwarranted. I did nothing to encourage this abuse from this person.
I was so upset from this I was crying all day and I am very stressed from what this man did to me today. The man that did this was a Hispanic male, the truck was numbered ** and it was approximately 3:40pm. The location was 3rd Ave between 58Th and 59Th St. in Manhattan NY. Thank You for your attention to this serious concern.

I sent a certified mail on June 6, 2009 at 1 pm containing 2 checks from the IRS going to Wachovia Bank in Richmond, VA to be lodged in my account. There is no update on it up to this day, June 15th. I called the office and spoke with a worker, who told me there is nothing they can do because the mail did leave their office, but there is no record of it anywhere. She contacted the post office in Richmond, VA. They in turn have no record of receiving it; therefore, she told me it could have been delayed or misplaced at the sorting office, which would be the next stop after leaving their office en route to Richmond, VA. She’s telling me this was not an express mail is not guaranteed to be delivered in a specific time. So what’s the use of paying for certified mail?
This is a lot of stress and strain not knowing what will happen. I have to wait the next 2 months, maybe more, for a reissue of another check by the IRS. We were depending on this return. We also rely so much on our postal services. If certified mail is not a guarantee of safe delivery getting to point A to B, then we need to go back to horses and carriages. Electronics and computers are failures in these times or must I say certain mails are not handled how it is paid for.

So I set up all new utility companies and they all only have the new address for me. I have not received any new bills in the mail. I just found out why today. They are being sent back saying "moved, no forwarding address". I moved in this place on March 17, 2009 and it is now June 16, 2009. I was docked $360 on my unemployment. I would like to know if I could get reimbursement for this or at least a letter that I can send to the Unemployment Commission to see if they will reimburse me there. It is evident there are other workers available, but they are not attending to customer unless, as today, I asked them to speed things up. I confess I was angry; thus, I left 2 sheets of 2 cent stamps (40 in all) where I had bought them. They disappeared. My point is this: today with the trend away from the use of US Postal Service to cyberspace, it seems postal workers should do much more to make the whole process more efficient and timely. Their attitude stinks. As a consequence, my blood pressure went up and my valuation of the US Postal Service went down.

Somewhere between my house and the post office, it disappeared or they are just so unorganized (it is a big box, so it would be hard to not find it in the back room) that they can't find it after the two times we've been there and asked for them to look for it three times each day. The mail man misplaced two of my packages and put it in someone else's box when I clearly had them labeled with my full address, apartment number and box number. When I tried to ask the employees what happened, she told me that the mail man was confused about how I labeled the packages. This was a little hard to take in because this never happened with any other package I had prior to this incident and they were labeled the same way. The employee told me that the person that usually delivers my mail had taken a vacation and that a new mail man had been assigned this paper route and that he had some confusion about how I labeled the packages and he put them in the wrong box.
So then, she got the manager and he pretty much told me the same thing and that they could not do anything about my missing packages. I don't understand how this mail man could get about where my mail goes when I clearly had it labeled with my apartment and box number. So now, I can't trust the post office with handling my packages and I have setup a system with them where I can pick up my packages at the site itself. Because two of my packages were put in somebody else's box, this incident has put me in a financial deficit and I have not been offered reimbursement for the value of what I have lost.

My brother received his letter on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from the Baychester Station and my letter was never scanned and therefore is actually lost in the mail system. The letter was mailed from Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland 20762 on May 29, 2009. My brother has already received his letter and sent back the Certified Return Form that was attached to the letter.
