I had 30 days to examine a vacation package. If I choose not to keep it, I could return within 30 days. I went to Elkton post office, returned everything certified so I could make sure the package got back to them in time and get my $500.00 back. Well the vacation people said they never received it and refused to give me my $500.00 back. I called the post office, they have on file that it was sent certified in May, but don't know what happened to it. Mark from PO said that happens, lost mail, etc. Mark wasn't very friendly and told me they wouldn't give me back my money and that there isn't anything I could do. Mark did say "you can call consumers affairs, but they won't be able to do anything". Can anybody do something? I need my $500.00 back.

I am supposed to get a mail from USCIS which is very important for my immigration status. USCIS has posted the mail on May 19, 2010 using priority mail. I have not received anything till date June 18, 2010. Also, the mail has not been returned back to USCIS. When I approached USPS, they asked me the tracking number (very irresponsible and rude answer). When I asked USCIS about the tracking number, they don't have one. I need to file another application with USCIS to get a duplicate copy of my immigration letter with a processing fee of $340. No fault of mine.
Do I need to pay my hard earned money $340 to government? Worst service by USPS. This is not the first time. When I shifted myself from Santa Barbara to Philadelphia (January 20, 2009), I had posted all my books and preprint of the papers by USPS. When I posted the package weigh 41 lbs. when I received it was 30 lbs. I lost 3 books, 50 preprint of my research paper and Xerox copy of all my documents.
I complained them on January 24, 2009. I have not received any response. I made 50 phone calls to know about the status of my complaint. They closed my case file without any intimation. Hence, every time I call them, USPS changed my case number and gave me mental torture. At last I came to the conclusion of not calling them. This is what they want. By giving more and mental torture, we will not follow with the complaints. So it is easy for them to close the file. What a government service are they doing?

Inbound International Arrival, June 11, 2010 at 5:17 pm, ISC MIAMI FL (USPS). Origin post is (Bahamas) is preparing shipment. Label/receipt number: **. Service registered mail. Status: inbound international arrival. This envelope contains a cashier's check to reimburse me for money I spent to return a Baylor University student, injured running track, to his parents in the Bahamas. At age 71, I can not afford the expense myself and need these funds to pay for the credit card that expenses were charged to.
I need to know if the letter containing reimbursement funds has been sent to customs, and that may be the reason that it has not been scanned since June 11, 2010. The U.S. Postal Service at 1800-, man named Chee, told me there is nothing he can do. The local Hewitt, Texas post office told me that there is nothing they can do. Consumer Affairs at 1-800, a person named Frank, told me there is nothing they can do. I need to know who has the international letter receipt number **. I need to know why their tracking does not show my address as the being sent to my address. I need to know where the letter is at this time. Please help me track the letter further than the inbound international arrival at Miami, FL on June 11th.

I have gone to this location for the last 6 years. The last 4 years in the summer this location has air conditioning problems. They were eventually fixed. I went inside this location at Trinity Mills Road in Dallas, TX 75287 on June 15th. It was empty and hot. They have no air conditioning. The 4 years of problems with the air conditioning led to it finally breaking down and has to be replaced. How can anyone in Dallas, Texas in June with 106 heat index work in these conditions? I appeal to you to fix this problem before they have a fatality.
I plan to keep in touch with this location, as I did today and they still have no air condition. The consequences will be that I will contact our local Fox 4 News television station and see if they can put this on the Dallas news. My guess is they will jump on this story and help these people who are forced to work in these horrible conditions. I won't go back and I don't see why they are subjected to this dangerous condition.

Today, I spoke to Lisa, Delivery Supervisor, USPS, and notified her that it was quite unusual that no mail was delivered to my home on Monday, June 14. We came to find out that the mail was apparently mis delivered since a neighbor dropped off 4 pieces of mail that they had received in error. Lisa's reply to this matter was, "It may not have been mis delivered by your mailman. School is out now and there has been a problem in your neighborhood with kids taking mail out of mailboxes. "My reply to her was, "First of all, we are not aware of a problem with children in our neighborhood tampering with mailboxes and secondly, school is not out until yet." I contacted our HOA and they said that they are not aware of a problem in the Milestone community with mail being tampered with and it's highly unlikely that this was the reason I had not received mail on 6/14/10.
Mis delivered and missing mail has been an ongoing problem for many years and has gotten worse in the last year. The supervisors that I have spoken to have been rude, unconcerned, and annoyed when I have called to report a legitimate problem/concern. I contacted Consumer Affairs in February 2010 because we had five (5) important bills that we never received that were due the end of the month. The Germantown USPS contacted me and I was told that all the mail in their station had been delivered and they would not investigate my concern about missing mail. One month later (the end of March), the 5 missing bills were delivered. Lost and mis delivered mail is unacceptable and a very big concern because of identity theft. I would appreciate a resolution to this problem. Thank you.

My mail was rerouted without my consent. 02/2008-06/2008, in the rerouted mail, I discovered very important mail sent back to sender. The government/bank contacted me via email/phone advising me the recent original envelope with the yellow sticker the Postal Office placed on my mail, saying, "Moved. Left. No forwarding address. Return to sender." In that unauthorized reroute was my letter, acceptance from HUD, Vancouver, WA Housing Authority. That letter told me, "The acceptance letter came back to the Housing Authority."
I waited five years for my Acceptance letter from HUD! After a long battle and many complaints with Postal Service, Congressmen, Federal HUD, Regional Headquarters of HUD, and the Attorney General. I have been redirected. I have been advised by the Local Housing Authority that I can be reinstated if I can prove I was living at the address. In the past with HUD Housing, I am aware I only have to give a permanent mailing address for the Acceptance Letter, alerting me I have been accepted for the HUD Program.
I've been on HUD in the past. My mail and I was and still at said address in question. (This was a postal carrier problem). I have some original envelopes with the yellow postal stickers and dates, and other mail that was delivered to prove mail was coming and some being returned. The address is my two son's address. I stay here.
The Postal Office is back peddling and not taking any blame saying, "Maybe the mailbox was full.” “Someone at that address told the mail carrier you moved." That is not true! Yesterday, 06/11/2010, I emailed the local Housing Authority requesting an appointment with all six Housing Authority Board Members. I am afraid of more intimidation and more disappointment by the government bureaucrats when I attend this meeting. I started this investigation two years ago, 05/2008 and have a long paper trail. I have a recent voicemail from the local Housing Authority stating her personal opinion, which is very derogatory! Please help.

Since January of 2010, my mailbox along with the whole bank was broken into. I live in New York City housing and they are taking way too long to fix these broken boxes. I was going to the post office to pick up my mail and for the last two months, the post office is telling me that they are not giving me my mail anymore because housing is not doing their job and after 10 days, they are sending the mail back so if I'm not home when the postman knocks on my door, then I'm not getting my mail. Those were the exact words. I have called housing for the last six months and the job is still not done. I don't know what to do anymore, I am fed up. I have not gotten any bills, rent stubs to pay the rent or insurance for my child doctor. I opened a checking account and I haven't received my debit card. Please help.

At the same time on that same form, I also requested my mail from St Mary's Ave in La Plata MD to Moses Way Waldorf, MD 20602. Until I called about not receiving any mail forwarded at all on June 2, 2010, the clerk I spoke with at the La Plata office informed me I couldn't use this form for two different requests. He advised only than that I had to do another form for the street address of St Mary's Ave La Plata, MD 20646.
I then got a large envelope from La Plata office with mail that was held from May 23 only. There was nothing from before that date and I have received nothing since that large package. After three days ago, I've found out that there's a notice left in the sender but they don't even call me or notify me that my package was not sent.
The documents being sent to embassy has expiration and I am damn mad with this kind of service from USPS. Trying to call them at their toll free and it was whole long instruction and never giving assistance direct to customer representative. I've called 10 times and unsuccessful after being so dissatisfied with their service. A check sent to me for concert tickets was returned to the sender. A local appliance company sent out a bill three times, and it was sent back three times. The post office is claiming that I am not here when they walked by. But it is, with one exception since May 1, a lie. And on the one exception? I was out of town, and my employee's husband was killed in an accident and she didn't come in. I want my mail delivered to my store - inside.

I have filed several complaints with the postal service at this point and still don't receive my mail. Ever since I have filed complaints, it seems that I conveniently don't receive important mail anymore. If it is illegal for any normal citizen to mess with other people's mail, then why are the employees of the Post Office allowed to continue with this type of harassment.
After my first complaint, magically my mail appeared. After the 2nd complaint, my mail was delayed or did not arrive at all and my mailbox was marked as 'vacated'. Now that I have moved I have yet to receive any of my forwarded mail and it has been a month. Why is it that nobody can do anything about this borderline fraud (checks disappearing/harassment)? Now at the new address, my mail gets returned as undeliverable (example: PSE - we received the statement dated 5/12, but the statement dated 5/17 was returned to PSE as undeliverable). Why?

Because of this, my son could not leave for Alaska to go to work on the 3rd, the company he is going to work for gave him til the fourth and still no delivery of his birth certificate, The company told him he could come back in the beginning of July to go to work. A Track and Confirm package supposedly was delivered to me, but I never got it. This is the second package missing in 3 months. It is odd that only Track and Confirm packages are missing or have been stolen. This mail delivery person, John is not stable enough to deliver our mail. He is mentally forgetful and has been sen returning at 6:30PM to get our outgoing mail.
I was told by the substitute mail person that John has not been delivering our mail timely, and leaves stuff on the shelf and forgets to deliver it. I guess he figures we are Seniors and nothing is that important for us. After all, we are not a business and we have little tip money at Christmas time. He has lost regular mail pieces of mine, too numerous to mention. I have file complaints both times by email and by phone.
I cannot even get the mail delivery man's last name from the Po - the woman told me it was "illegal" for her to tell me his name! What the heck? He is trusted with my mail and I cannot know his name? I smell a fishy situation here. I have a bad gut reaction about this, 2 Track and Confirm packages went "missing" in 3 months? I am not the only person having problems with this mail delivery man. Another woman who used to live here had bad problems with this same mail delivery man.
I have now filed a total of 4 complaints over two packages and I am not done yet. My next stop for complaints is the FBI and state and local authorities.Next week, I will wake up the whole Justice Department of every possible locality that I can file with around Charleston SC. I am looking for persons who are having the same types of problems, so we can for a coalition. There is strength in numbers and then maybe we can get an attorney to look into the fraud at the USPS in Charleston, SC.
I am out $50.00 in supplies. I am an artist who paints and makes jewelry - real jewelry in Sterling silver. None of my supplies and tools are cheap and I am very poor. I live at 200% below the Federal Poverty Guideline and stealing from me is taking away my food money. So now, I have to wait until next month to replace the supplies - Argentium Sterling Silver Wire and a tool called a mandrell to make make things with. I am disgusted and will now have to insure each and every package I get sent to me.
I am disabled and cannot shop in local stores, they are too expensive. I do all my shopping online. This way, I do not suffer the pain in my spine that I get from walking, sitting and driving around and shopping. My spine was destroyed 16 years ago by a drunk driver on drugs in Florida. I have not worked a day since. And these little bracelets and anklets I make give me a sense of work and I can do them when I am able. The Chronic Pain leaves me unreliable for schedules, so I work when and if I can.

On April 14, 2010, the Inwood Post Office blatantly lied about delivering a package, in which they left no notice or attempted to deliver. I checked the tracking status on the computer and found that the package was scanned on 4/13/2010 at 13:14 Bronx, NY with this scanner ID number **. The postal service said they left a notice on 4/13/2010 at 14:05 Bronx, NY with the scanner ID **. The protocol is that the package is to remain in the post office for a minimum of five days after an attempted delivery. When I went to pick the package up on 4/14/2010, I was told by the supervisor that my package was not in the post office and that it was enroute to Memphis, Tn 38101 with the scanner ID number **. I asked why was the package with an address of Bronx, NY would be going to Tennessee.
I was then belittled and humiliated with questions like: Did you have this package forwarded to this address? Are you sure? I made clear to supervisor (a male) that I had no idea why the postal service would forward the package the same day as the attempted delivery and I was not given the right or opportunity to pick the package up. He stood there and could not offer me an explanation for what happen to the package. I returned home and checked the tracking information and found that the package was in Brighten, Tn with scanner ID ** on 4/14/2010 at 8:08 p.m. When the package arrived at Brighten, TN, a notice was left on 4/14/2010 at 13:28 with scanner ID **.
I would have like to know what was the address that the Brighten, TN post office attempted to deliver the package to, when it had a Bronx, NY address. I called the Brighten, TN post office on April 19, 2010 at 5:07 p.m. and was immediately told the package was returned to the sender. I went on to ask the employee, how was the package returned and the tracking information states that the package is in their facility. She said, "Yes, the package was returned, but we forgot to scan it."
I asked her, "Was that protocol for the post office to just forget to scan a package?" She said, "Ma'am, it's not protocol, but these things happen." I asked for her name and was given the name of her supervisor Joy. I was told to call her on Thursday or Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Now, my refund is in limbo because the company won't refund my money because the tracking information is stating that the package is still in the Brighten, TN post office. The Inwood post office and the Brighten,Tn were negligent in handling a package that was not delivered and then forwarded to a post office that forgot to scan a package.

There is a broken piece of concrete as you approach the entrance to the post office. Over a year and a half ago I tripped over this and told the post master about it. I have witnessed other people trip over this same broken piece of concrete. Last fall I caught an elderly lady as she was going into the post office and had tripped over this concrete. I talked with the postmaster a few other times about this because it was not fixed. He always told me he talked to someone in Green Bay about getting it fixed and was told that there is no money in the budget for this repair.
There is a window almost directly in line with this broken concrete and someone could easily trip and go thru this window. I mentioned this to the postmaster. This morning my daughter (adult) tripped going into the post office on this very same broken piece of concrete. She scraped her arm on the brick building and twisted her foot. Another patron notified the postmaster of this incident. I stopped to talk to the postmaster again and told him about the incident this morning where my daughter fell into the building tripping on this same broken concrete. He said to me again, "Green Bay tells me there is no money in the budget to repair the concrete." I told him that he needs to push the issue. He asked if he could use my name and I consented to this. Same procedure as the first time I told him 1 ½ to 2 years ago.

I am having a big problem with the post office. When our regular carrier is off, the replacements will not go in the elevator to deliver to the door cause they are lazy. The tenant patrol has seen them drop a notice in the mailboxes and leave. Now I haven't worked for 6 months and they tell their boss all kinds of stories like, the bell don't work, elevator broken, no one home and these are all lies. I have been home all day till 4pm and no one has knock on this door. Since my husband works at night and my daughter goes to evening classes, every day there is someone home. I have called, emailed and wrote to the post office and all the address I found on their website. They called me back and said they are sorry and then I get my package.
Soon as the next package comes, I got another notice and I have to start the redelivery process and when that fails I have to make multiple calls to track my package and they make complaints. When I go to the post office, they act like I am a pain in the butt for asking for my package that I paid for shipping. Also what attitudes they have, that is why I always try to use UPS. This is an ongoing matter and I have tried every way I could think of to stop this. All I want is to get my packages. I think since I live in a NY housing project, they're treating us like second class citizens. It's really bad, most the time I must travel to the post office and pick up my package and that save the carrier a trip up the elevator. Few returned packages and I must pay to resend. I really cannot afford to pay extra being unemployed.

I have received three broken packages from the Postal Service, the first, a TV and game console, the second, a package with CD's inside, and now the third, a serving dish. How hard is it not to bust every package I get! I'm heartbroken to see my childhood memories in pieces.
My first own purchase TV, that I had to leave at home simply because I couldn't fit it in the vehicle when I moved. I spent a thousand dollars of real money on it, that as a 15-16 year old, struggled to earn. My grams sent me several items I left behind, the only breakable ones are broken and now useless. Now, a serving dish that has been through hell, move after move, is in my living room in pieces. I am in tears. I'm heart broken to be tossing another piece in the dumpster because they trashed it. I can't even write how angry I am at them for breaking these things.
Fragile is all over every box, it's wrapped with the greatest care, and the first box had an obvious boot outline on it. I'm not allowing anyone else to mail anything to me. They have responded to my complaints with a "You should have purchased insurance". No, I should not have to beg people to add extra services to get a non-broken package. I am done saying please, thank you, and have a nice day. I am at that point of demanding what I want. I cannot afford to replace even one item they have broken. It's over $1,500 in damaged items, in 6 months.

It should have been delivered on 5/27. Why the delay between Hawaii and San Bernardino? The length of time my item would have been delivered. I was told there's nothing they can do about it and it is no guarantee it will get there in 3 days. Why pay the extra or use the service if it's not going to work? No physical damage, just not happy it took so long to get from here to its destination. The time my item would have been delivered. Then I was kind of informed as if "too bad, so sad."

Our mail is continuously late, or disappears. In some cases checks/payments are lost or show up a few weeks late, causing financial burden to individuals in our office and our company. We have contacted the USPS investigative unit and filed multiple complaints. We finally were able to get someone out to our office and meet with us regarding this issue and have heard nothing as of yet. When we attempt to follow up with the USPS Investigative Unit or the WC Post Office, we are given little or no information. We're given the complete run around.
This problem has progressed over the last few years and has shown no signs of improvement. We are forced to spend the extra money and send important documents via UPS or overnight carrier, allowing us to track the packages and ensure a timely delivery. It is very unfortunate that the USPS can no longer be relied on. We have supported their services for over 20 years.

This is reprehensible service. It’s very upsetting to think our government provides such shoddy services. Large cost of time to cancel checks, pay for that cost, issue new checks, pay yet more postage and worry about another delivery.

I have placed a complaint yesterday and received a call from USPS to say the track and confirm shows that it was delivered. I waited for the postman to drive up today to ask if he remembered leaving a package last week, he said that he remembered leaving something in our open garage but he didn't remember where he left it. This is hard to believe because we keep the garage closed unless we are outside. I am home every day with my newborn baby and no one ever attempted to knock or ring the doorbell for delivery.
I find his story hard to believe. There was also the fact that the online tracking was stating there was no update for several days, and then on the 26th, it was updated to say it was delivered on the 20th. Why was there no tracking information on the package between the 20th and the 26th? I need a follow up on this report and would like the postal delivery person interviewed again to make sure he did not misplace the package or perhaps something else. Why would he walk into our garage and place a package somewhere but not remember where he placed it. We keep our vehicle in our garage and the garage is kept closed unless we are coming outside as we did today to speak to him. Thank you for your help in this matter. This package has a value of $107 and I need this resolved. If this package turns up somewhere later, will it be redelivered automatically?

My mail was blocked from December 2009. On January 2010, I made a claim to supervisor Post office Northside 33702, so I showed the letter sent from ex employer with label message "unable to deliver". I reported the case that I still lived in this address for 12 years. I have picked up my messages on regular basis but still my mail was blocked .I just receive garbage mail. My Chase Bank sent me a check (money) by mail USPS for 5 times and it was sent back to Chase Bank. A debit card from Chase was sent to me but USPS sent it back to Chase.
Again I talked with the supervisor of the Post Office on 05/20/2010 but my mail is still blocked. Now, the unemployment office sends me check on 05/18 /2010 but I still have not received the mail check. I called to report & created a case on Customer Service USPS, so the issue still is not fixed. Mail is still blocked. I received a call on 05/25/2010 from USPS who said my name is in listed on the computer to block mail. It really affects my finance now and personal life. I request that the issue be fixed and mail be opened.

I really think there should be a hotline to report employees of the USPS who may be on the verge of "going postal". Most employees at any branch of the USPS in Albuquerque are very kind and helpful. David, at the Main Post office in Albuquerque on Broadway, is downright scary. He acts as if he's doing you a favor to even look at you, let alone waste his valuable time helping you. He hums and taps his fingernails rapidly on the counter while you're getting out your money to pay, tosses your merchandise on the counter (stamps, etc.) - if you don't catch it, it will slide right off onto the floor. This is the second time I've walked into that Post Office and left on the verge of tears after being treated like dirt by this man. If there's a hotline for USPS employees with personality problems, this man should be on it. The only consequences I can see are that I'm upset enough to look for somewhere to make a complaint.

The postal employees have a whole they have a whole Filipino clique going on at this post office where they think it’s funny when a customer asks to speak to a manager. They gave me bogus name of a manager and were extremely rude. I print out all my own postal labels on the internet so all these losers have to do is turn in my packages. I dropped off my packages yesterday at 9:30 am. They were not processed until around 4 pm. All these immigrants should be supervised and if they do not do their job, they should be fired! I called last Friday to speak to a manager and both Ace and Able hung up the phone on me. They think its real funny but I will be reporting this until these losers get fired!

On March 27 of this year, I mailed two boxes of books to my daughter in Oregon. They both weighted approximately 51 pounds and were sent Media Rate. I sent them from the Sunshine Shipping and Gifts at Naples, FL. On April 5, both boxes arrived at my daughters. One box was in perfect condition and the other was also in perfect condition except for a small puncture on the bottom. However, this box was empty, except for a baby blanket, which was not something I had sent: A book about Boston, again, not something I sent and some brochures for New Mexico and not something I sent. This box had been sliced opened, the contents emptied and garbage put back in. I have spent much time talking with people from the shipping place where I sent it to the main post office here and also two separate calls I made to complain.
When I first called the shipping station, I was treated badly, hung up on and the person, whose name was Erica, would not pick up the phone again, but just let it ring knowing I was trying to re-call her. I then filed a complaint on the phone with someone who was sympathetic, but not helpful. I received a call from someone named Don, I think, who merely said "checked the backroom here and your books are not here". I asked him what backroom and he said the main post office. He could not be bothered either. I called to complain again and was given another case number by someone named Greg. Again, Don called me and said the books were nowhere to be found.
I went to the main post office three Saturdays ago and was told I had to speak with someone named Anita. I asked if they would go get her for me and they said no, I had to wait until she walked by. Well 45 minutes later, she had still not walked by so I asked someone else, Deborah **, who actually took me out back and listened to my whole story. She then had Anita come in and I told the story again. They were both very nice, but could not really help me but to give me this address. In this box was a complete set of Time Life books on the American Indians, some still in their original shrink wrap. There were also many books on the Civil War and some reading books written by Beverly Lewis, along with a couple of miscellaneous other books.
If mail had been taken out of my box here at home, it would have been a federal offense. I would like these books returned to me or sent to my daughter. If this is not possible, I would like to know how to press charges for the theft of this property inside the postal system. My daughter still has the box and the items that were in them and she has even taken it to her post office to show them that the books did not fall out but were deliberately opened and emptied out but like everyone else, they did not care either.

I sent a package about a month ago, April 26 or 27 is my best guess. I sent it using the Priority Mail International small flat rate box 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8". Maximum weight, 4 pounds. I was given a receipt that was way faded out including a 1/8 size piece of paper that only had blue "watermarks" printed on it. If that was the tracking number sheet, then I have thrown it away. It does not at all look anywhere near readable and important. I called up the recipient to check if the problem was at the place of destination's postal service. But there was no record there of any packages delivered to them at all having my credentials.
I called up to the customer service just before writing this email and they didn't have any solutions for me. They only apologized! I even insisted on her telling me what the problems might be on why it did not come through. This is not my first time to do international flat rate mailing to the Philippines. I am very disappointed and in rage at the system they are using! They should keep track of the sender and recipient's details. I can prove I am the sender at all costs. I know what's inside the package and I can send you pictures of them. I have valuable stuff in there. I have a phone there too. Shoes and clothes for my baby. Jewelry prizes for the contest I held on my blog. If you can help me, I would be more than glad. I just hope and pray their system will allow me to get back to my package. Even send it to me back will be fine as of the moment. I don't mind the pay.
I hope the USPS Customer Service exists to help people with these types of problems and not those who are just asking about rates and stuff. That's the purpose why they exist, why there are customer representatives. I'm sure a lot of us who lost packages are more than willing to come up to them with very personal identification card just to prove to them we are the senders! It really sucks. I am very disappointed. Other than that, I guess I won't be trusting the entire USPS for failure of delivery. They too have very unaccommodating personnel. They might as well remind the people to keep receipts/tracking numbers until mail is successfully received! That's not so hard to do at all! If you can help me on this, I would be more than grateful. Details of sender and receiver can be given to you if needed. Have a good day.

My father and I bought a rental house through foreclosure. The house was vacant for a couple of years. We fixed it up and rented it out in March 2010. There was a broken mailbox by the street and another mailbox hooked onto the side of the house near the front door. When the new tenants moved in, they found that the several hundred high school students who walked by every day take the mail out, throw it on the ground, and mutilate the mailbox. So they took the box down and asked the carrier to deliver the mail to the box near the front door (By the way, every house on that street has mailboxes near the front door, not out at the street). The mail carrier would not deliver the mail.
The tenants went to the post office and got no results. We went to the post office and talked to a supervisor. Her name was Cathie. I told her I had pictures of all the surrounding houses and not one had a mailbox on the street. She said she would have the carrier deliver to the box on the house. Another week went by with no mail. We went back and spoke with Cathie. She said the mail carrier refused to walk it to the house like she does with every other house. She said it took too much time (We are talking about less than 100 feet). She said there was a history of the street mail box and he refused to walk to the house. (The box has had no mail delivered in probably two years). These tenants need to be able to get their mail and the mail carrier needs to deliver it safely to their house, where the juvenile vandals can't get to it. We went to talk to the top supervisor, Dennis, but he was in a meeting and has not called us back. Please help us!

I called again and was able to speak with a live person who informed me that this wasn't her department, but she did transfer me to that department. I left yet another message, and still have not received a phone call back. I put a note on my mailbox asking the mail carrier to deliver to my front door due to this issue, and I was informed by her that she cannot do that, but I can meet her at my mailbox and she will give it to me. I contacted the supervisor and told him the dog was chained up, he said my mail would be delivered the next day. We still had no mail. I went in three days later, left work early, and they told me I needed to fill out a form.
I did so and asked to speak to the supervisor. He was busy so I left my number for a call back. No call and no mail. I called to speak to a different supervisor (who was not available) so I left my number for her, still got no return call. I work six days a week, 12-14 hours a day. I can only get my mail now when I leave work early. One of the clerks indicated they were going to make me get a P.O. box, which would be a financial burden but even at that there would be some communication. I have been at my address for 10 years, the first carrier I had for five years had no problem with my dogs. The second carrier was here for a year. The current carrier has been delivering 6-12 months prior to this, same dogs, no problems. Now all of the sudden I can't get my mail delivered and the admin at the post office will not return my calls or answer my questions.

I have spoken to several different mail couriers about this matter, and all they have to say is that it's not their regular route. So I then asked them if that means they don't have to do their job. The consequences I have had to deal with resulted in my check being lost in the mail. I have to wait for thirty days to see if it was ever returned to the company and they had to reprint me one up. The company now allows me to pick my check up from their business. This is an inconvenience for me due to the fact that the company is located an hour away from my home.

After having called unemployment and verifying that the check was cut and sent out, I have called the post office everyday, except Sunday.
I called unemployment today again after not receiving my second check! They told me that my mail is being sent back. Two other separate forms mailed were also sent back. I need my mail to be delivered and when I called the supervisor, he says that they have nothing for me and hangs up.
I called the Inspector General and filed a complaint and I believe that is why the post office is giving me a hard time and hanging up on me and refusing to find out why my mail isn't being delivered. If I am not mistaken, that would fall under the whistle blowing act, would it not? I have no food for my four-year-old son or myself and will be evicted from my room that I rent if I do not start to receive my checks.
I have filed a complaint with the Inspector General, BBB and now CA but I am still not receiving my mail. This is almost 1,000.00 that has been fraudulently taken from me or not delivered. I want the supervisor fired and I want my mail that I have been receiving for eight months up until three weeks ago.

I want all late fee incurred for all bills to be paid either by the individual all carrier or the post office itself. My son has asthma and is out of his medicines and I cannot refill them without receiving my money. I was getting all mail, until I filed out a federal form of change of address to my current address and received a receipt from Rincon Tucson UPS a confirmation receipt of address change.
Then I received some of my mail. Now, I am not getting hardly any mail that does not come from outside of Phoenix, AZ. When I called the Rincon Postal Service, I spoke with a customer service; and they still had my PO box open without my new change of address, which I gave to her. I told her I want my PO box closed because I have checks that I desperately need and did not get for some reason, yet I was getting some mail without no forwarding yellow labels with the new address written on it.
Then I called back and spoke with another customer service rep, and he said that someone else has mail in my old PO box and that my new address was not in the system. So he told me to speak again to the PO box supervisor or clerk, whatever her title is.
If need be, I will provide the receipt from the federal form I sent to them in March 2010. The receipt provided the following information: Old address and info and new address and info. It stated that we have undated your knew info and address into the system for the family names. I have lost 3 child support checks that I need desperately now, due to my low income and needing every penny I have to survive each month.
Now, I have to do cancel checks and wait for the checks to be reissued, which leaves me with no money for the rest of the month. In addition to that, I have a lot of creditors that send me mail and old utility bills from Tucson that I also need in order to clear up my credit issue with my creditors. In addition to that, I have Va Hospital appointment sent to me in the mail that I might not be getting due to this situation. And much more. Postal clerk prejudice. I arrived at the post office with no one in line. A youth outside the post office waiting for a ride kindly assisted me in the large load and luggage cart of 8 large and heavy boxes. When I went to the clerk window of USPS employee name tag Wanda, who had an immediate prejudice and attitude towards me (petite blonde). I do not know her. She did not give me proper information when requested. She was very unprofessional and rudely rushed me. I addressed this and asked why. I said I am spending $100 for your services. She said because there were customers behind me. There were no customers behind me.
I stayed at the counter putting away receipts and taking notes. I had to ask for ETA. She gave me a random guess of 2 weeks, which was inaccurate. I warned her if the packages do not arrive, I would be making calls. She was talking to a woman who was hiding behind the wall with my packages. I believe they were opening the packages. One box was media mail books in a blender box (obviously not a blender because of the weight), another media box and another parcel post box she did not forward to mail room. I came back with 2 more boxes. Still, no line of customers. This time, I worked with Mark because she did not come to window. I mentioned no one is at the window. Are you available? He said yes. The box was very large and heavy, 25% of my weight and I used momentum to get it on the high counter. He did not offer to assist me (age 51, 100lbs).
Mark had an attitude and said, "we'll just throw it, why don't you!". He was not joking. I then addressed his attitude and said I have heard complaints from others about him. This is the 2nd time he had prejudiced and treated me rudely. After I addressed his behavior, he then followed USPS protocol and read my options of cost and ETA of USPS services for me to make a decision. This is what I asked of Wanda and she did not provide this. I do not know these people. I do not understand their prejudice and rude behavior. I know that their uncooperative and controlling type behavior of poor customer service leads me to believe that they would have strong motivation to not mail my packages. I did not call nor complain about their attitude or behavior, but now that I have 3 boxes MIA, I am asking assistance from Consumer Affairs for MIA packages. USPS fraud, ongoing prejudice, rudeness, now fraud with 3 packages MIA that never left Davis.

My wife sent a package to our son, who was studying abroad in Spain. Our understanding is that the insurance value on a package overseas is equivalent to the shipping cost, which was approximately $80. The package never arrived, and our son returned home three months after she shipped the package. After numerous calls and letters to the USPS, they have determined that the package was delivered, yet they fail to provide us with any proof of delivery or delivery date. If it was delivered, it was not delivered to our son - the intended recipient - and was certainly not delivered within any reasonable time frame.
It should be noted that when first asked about the package (while our son was still in Spain), we were told that it was accidentally shipped to Great Britain, and was being rerouted to Spain. Our feeling is that the USPS is not keeping their end of the shipping bargain, acting as both judge and jury with regard to the claim - somewhat like being the judge at your own trial! They have once again asked us to file an appeal, at which time they would then have 60 days to determine the validity of. Seems like this is a tactic devised to frustrate and eventually beat down the consumer.

I did not receive a phone call from the Ansonia Station until 5/3/10. They left a message on my machine and when I returned the call, I told the postal worker the situation. She said she would leave a message for the appropriate person. I did not receive a call back.
I called 800-ASK-USPS again on 5/6/10. The woman I spoke to said that the package was at Ansonia Station and that I should call them to find out its whereabouts. She gave me the number for Ansonia. I told her I already tried calling them and they were of no assistance. She then told me to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Since I wanted to work this out with the post office, I decided to call Ansonia Station again. I have been calling for two days and no one has answered the phone. Therefore, I have been left with no choice but to file a complaint. Our patient did not receive his medication on time! Also, it's been 17 days and neither party has received this package that I sent 2-day!

I have a mail slot in my garage door. The postmen sometimes will put the mail halfway through the slot and drop the lid on it. They are supposed to put the mail completely through the slot so that it lands in the mail container. Apparently, it's easier to do it the wrong way. I have complained five times previously and it keeps happening.
Last time, I spoke with Mike, who is the new manager there. He promised me that this problem would be fixed, but it happened again today, for the sixth time! This time, I took pictures. It happened this morning (5-6-10) at 11:00 a.m. I want to speak to the postmaster that's responsible for this region, but the USPS will not give me his phone number. This has to stop!

We have complained on this teller to the post master 3 times and she still continues to be rude to my employees. If she sees us coming to her window, she will put the closed sign up and walk off instead of waiting on us. This has happened with several of our employees. If she does wait on us, she is very rude. She told one of my girls that needed a piece of tape to tape an envelope shut, that we need to bring our own stuff that we need to send our mail. That she would not do it again.
This employee is rude to any TitleMax employee that goes there and she waits on. We are consumers and that is very poor customer service. Whether she knows it or not, we pay part of her salary by using their facility. If she cannot deal with customers, she doesn't need to be working there. My employees do not want to go to the post office because they don't want to deal with her.

A package for a return item was mailed on April 8th 2010 with a delivery date of April 11th, 2010. As of May 3rd, nobody can tell me where this package is. It was last scanned in Phoenix, AZ. on April 9th 2010 and now can't be found. Why do we trust our packages with the postal service? I am now being told there is nothing they can do. Why are we the ones that have to assume the loss or delay because the postal service is unreliable? Why don't they take responsibility for the lost package? I am the only one stuck here with the loss because the person will not refund the money for an item they didn't receive, and the post office is refusing to reimburse me for their careless actions. Can someone please help me with this?

Since the Month of February 2010, I have put in for a change of address and hold of mail, for receipt of mail box keys, as of the day 5/3/2010 I have not been able to access my mailbox. I have made numerous trips to the post office, spoken to several supervisors and attendees only to get the same response: “We're gonna have someone look into it”.
They continually give me the wrong keys but refuse to acknowledge, they do not appropriately respond to customer per protocol, it's like by chance you go and then they come up with explanation as to why things haven't been properly handled. It has been a huge inconvenience, and a disservice to a taxpayer (myself) on the lack of accountability of the postal service workers at the Congress Heights Post office.

For the last year, the post office has been stamping every piece of mail that comes to our family at two or three times with a stamp that reads. To avoid delay in delivery, have your mail addressed to correct street and number, zip code, apartment number, P.O. Box or general delivery. We also have a small business with many subcontracting agencies that required us to change all our addressed envelopes, stamps, etc so that the P.O. Box appeared last. If it was not right above the city, we got the stamp routine.
Several important loan documents were sent back even though all the correct information was on the address. We received several hundred dollars in fines because our credit card statements were sent back. Letters from our children out of the country were returned to sender and lost. Items ordered were stamped because the sender required a physical address. The last straw was the tax returns, both state and federal, the census letter and the social security administration letters marked "official business" and sent to the physical address by the federal and state government no less.
Just as background, we live in a community of approximately 280, we have no automated readers here. The whole post office consists of about 200 boxes and all the red stamping is done by hand. Is the positioning of the P.O. Box on the item a Federal Law? If so, why don't the Federal and State Government agencies comply with their own rules? Does the price of stamps have to go up because so much time is spent on hand stamping?

The mail man never rung the bell to let me know to come down and pick up the package. I then went to the post office and they said that I could pick up the package tomorrow. I also called USPS twice, received a confirmation number and have yet to be called back concerning the whereabouts of the package. This service is so just incredibly unprofessional. What can I do to be reimbursed for the priority postage I paid for? Is there anyway this particular post office can be investigated? This is not the first time such a thing has happened at this particular office. Thanks very much.

I write to for your guidance and resolution to a mail delivery problem I have been having. My residence is a twin home where my neighbor and I have our mail boxes mounted next to the front door, this being the structure of the property always. There are neither obstructions nor any locks on doors stopping any postal mail carrier, local law enforcement, local county inspectors or pizza delivery, etc. from getting to my front door. The path from the public sidewalk to my mail box is clear. My home is not in any violation of any codes. With that said, I did not receive mail for almost a week. I went to the Oxford Pa Post office to inquire and place a complaint. I spoke with the post master Patricia and she told me she would have it investigated. At that time, I was handed my mail at said post office.
The following day after my visit to the post office, my mail was placed in the mail box by a postal carrier. After that day, my mail has been thrown on my porch wrapped in a rubber band like a local flyer would be, subjected to the weather and possible mishaps. On a professional level, I am in law enforcement and currently in the middle of a few legal matters. I am contacted and summoned to court by mail and when I don't get them along with daily living mail, bills, etc., this causes a hardship for me. It appears I have been singled out on this street. I am aware of other residents getting their mail daily and it being placed in their mail boxes that are at the front doors.
I returned today, 4-28-2010 at 12 noon to Oxford post office to seek a resolution to the investigation I was advised would take place approximately two weeks ago. I was advised the post master was out and spoke to an acting supervisor named Adam. I spoke with Adam who said he was aware of my request and mail receiving problem. He suggested that I relocate my mail box closer to my neighbor's door so when the mail man is standing on my neighbor's property he could reach over and place my mail in my box. I advised Adam, that I did not find that to be a fair request since others do not have to do this. The block still requires the carrier to come up each residential path from the public sidewalk to the residential mounted mail boxes. It appears my mail depends on the carrier of that day. At this time, I feel I exhausted my efforts to resolve this at the local post office supervisor and post master level.
I write to you in hope you can assist me in getting back to a normal mail delivery. Since my first complaint, I asked to be shown what violation and codes if any were broken at the federal level and county level. I have been given none. I am only verbally told they will look into it. This post office is aware of this matter and someone has made a decision not to deliver my mail. I would like this person to be accounted for and to please justify why only my mail cannot be delivered.
There are no reasons like loose animals, loose children, sharp tools, locked doors, etc. for a reason the postal carrier cannot properly deliver mail. At your request, I can take photos of the houses, area, and other local homes to provide a better understanding if needed. I thank you in advance for your time, sir, in this matter. I hope the problem can be solved.

For the past 8+ weeks, our regular mail courier has been out. We have spotty service to our business with deliveries many times past closing hours. I have complained several times to only have the local supervisor call and tell me to call her anytime there is an issue and give her direct line. Before, I called when it was past 5pm, but no one answered. I called the next day, and many times all day to have the line never answered.
This number has been verified with the mail couriers to be correct. They just don't answer the line, as usual, since I have experienced this over 10 years with this office. Or a nasty response from the delivery person or to be told they were minutes ago just given the mail to be delivered (sometimes after 5pm). I have called the USPS line, and after my last call last night, they asked, "I contact you." They felt that they might need to get the issue resolved but will keep trying.
We are a business that received checks from clients many times via mail for trades placed, clients who live in the same area. We have had market loss due to the mail not being delivered, only to see it late the next day and their check is there. We have had several times of no mail being delivered or showing up past office ours of 8:30am-5pm. We now have to tell our clients to no longer mail checks and have them hand-delivered due to unreliability of service.
Many times when we asked about getting better service, we got short and nasty responses. One courier reported that many times she is handed our mail late in the day at the last minute to deliver. I also know we are not getting mail. For one week, I mailed out a postcard back to us with the date written on it. One card a day for 5 days starting on Monday. I only received 2 of the cards. That was over 4 weeks ago. I used the correct postage for the size of the card, and the address was stamped. So there should be no issues with reading it. The machine obviously had no issues with 2 of the cards.
During the whole 8+ weeks, we have seen a big decline of mail and have not received items clients have mailed; and vendors have reportedly mailed to us. This is the first time in 10 years it has reached this level.

This might be a little long, so please bear with me. I have had a lot of bad experiences with USPS. I live past a State maintained road. So do others I know up the street from me. I called the post master and asked him if I could move my box to the end of my driveway so I could keep an eye on my mail. He said that there was no way he would send his truck down my road to deliver my mail. My driveway is 100 feet down a smooth gravel road, slightly down hill with anywhere to turn around. I own my home and land. I live in a mobile home. I told him that my road was smooth and well maintained. Also, that I deserved the right to have security of my mail being delivered. I told him that I should have the same rights as these 2 people up the street have. The difference is they live in houses, I live in a trailer.
So I called the 800 number and made a formal complaint. Nothing was done. I asked if I couldn’t have security then they should have to move their boxes beside the road too. They still have their boxes in front of their houses and my mail is still getting stolen. I guess I don’t have any rights because I don’t measure up in the post master's eyes.
Another thing that happened to me, I bought an item from eBay (this keyboard I’m using actually). The seller was supposed to ship it UPS, they did the ole bait n switch and sent it through USPS. I wrote a note to the carrier asking him to please leave me a note when it comes so I can pick it up at the PO. He could have leave my packages lying on the ground or leaves my mailbox open using the lid as a table to lay the package on. Instead, he forces my package in my mailbox, using the lid as a hammer, thus breaking my mailbox lid off the hinge and left the lid dangling. I knew that I couldn’t get help if I called, so my husband fixed the box and we both were happy that we got to the mailbox before the thieves did.
Yesterday, I and my husband went to the box, there was a lot of mail in my box, and none was ours. There was important looking envelopes and such. I called the PO again, the PM said that he will call and tell the carrier to do better. I asked him what to do with the mail, he said put it back in my box. I asked him about my mail, I know he put it in my neighbors box, he said that the people on my road will return my mail. How do I know if they will? I haven’t got any back yet? I keep getting other peoples mail so does my neighbor, the only one I talk to. So what can I do about this matter? I need help here, please! The carrier broke the lid off my box and my mail has been delivered mistakenly and stolen.

I mailed five envelopes certified mail on April 7 to file taxes. Three have arrived, but two have been labeled "acceptance" but never shipped. I called the postal service to see what happened and they opened a dispute case for me. They explained someone would call back in 2-3 days. I called in after three days and the person I spoke with said there was no update and to wait a few more days. After waiting a few days, I called back and they said the case was closed and there was no reason why. I asked the lady what exactly the dispute entails, "Does someone look for the package? Do they ever find it? Or am I wasting my time?" She, of course, was really rude and told me she had no idea. She gave me a number to my local post office to see the status of my claim. She also opened another dispute and told me I would be contacted in 2-3 days.
I called that number and the lady who answered the phone mumbled her name. I asked if it was the postal service and she said yes and told me she would put me on hold. I waited for around 5 minutes and hung up. I called back and got the same woman. I told her that I had just called in, and she said "Yeah, call back in about 2 hours. I'm real busy right now." I asked if there was someone else that could speak with and she said, "No, just call back in 2 hours." I couldn't call back, so I waited to hear the response from my dispute. Of course, I received no response. I called after five days to check on my dispute. The lady said there was no updates. It was still open and gave me the number again to the woman who is too busy. I called the woman back and she said there's no dispute/claims that happened with the post office. She said there's nothing they can do, but I could call back to speak with a supervisor in an hour. I disconnected.
I ended up calling the post office that I went to initially to deliver the letter and she said the same thing. There's no dispute process. She said that it was probably being returned back to me and it takes 15 days. I explained that it never left the post office! She then said, "We don't hold mail, but that's a problem that there was no updates." She said I could go to the post office with proper documentation to reimburse my postage. My taxes are late. I have to refile. My refund will be delayed and I have paid for postage that didn't deliver my mail. I find it ridiculous that we pay these workers so much money and they are all unhelpful, not knowledgeable, not friendly and rude. The unfortunate thing is that there is no course of action. I am stuck.

For over 3 years, I keep receiving someone else's mail. It's always the same person whose mail box is next to mine. I can understand that people aren't perfect and that occasionally mistakes are made. But this has existed and going on the 4th year now. I have contacted the post master at least 8 times and personally talked to her with her promising to "look into the matter" and determine which mail carrier is doing this. Meanwhile, I'm wondering if other people are receiving my mail. I told her that was a concern and she didn't seem to share my concern at all.
While it's inconvenient to have to do the mail carrier's job and put the mail in the right box, it has now escalated to costing me money and affecting my credit. I did not receive a credit card statement for 2 months. Since it is this company's policy not to send a bill when no money is due, I assumed no money was due. Wrong! I verified with the credit card company that the bills were sent. I never received them. This has cost me over $70 in late fees and interest payments, and has affected my credit score just when I was in a transaction with a loan company to refinance my mortgage.
And the last straw was yesterday, April 22, 2010, when once again I received mail that wasn't mine! I called the post office to talk to the post master and learned she was on vacation. Some other person, acting as the post master, treated me rudely and I have no hope of this being resolved. So, I wrote a note on the person's mail I received telling them that I've been getting their mail for 3 years, and put it back into his box. Now I've involved him as well. I am so sick of this miserable post office and their escalating incompetence.
They keep charging more and more and giving less and less service. If there was another way of receiving my mail, I would leap at the chance. This government agency is one of the worst ever! I hate them! Why can't they be fired? Especially the lame Post Master in Fallbrook, and my stupid lame mail carrier who can't read! Don't they take a test to determine some sort of minimal competency before letting these idiots lose to handle important documents? Apparently not! We have a rural carrier, who refused to deliver parcels to the house. He leaves a notice in the mailbox to pick the parcel up at the post office. If, for some reason, he does bring the parcel with him, he pulls into the driveway, and sits there honking his horn, until someone goes out to get the parcel. In some cases, the parcel is medications, and because we may not be home on a Friday, it results in the medications not being picked up until Monday. When one of his customers complains about the service, the postmaster makes excuses, and does not correct the situation. The carrier then sends the mail back to the sender red-handed as, "not at this address". He also harasses the customers with notices to move the mailbox, or raise the mailbox. All this, under threat of curtailed mail.
One customer has moved his box back 4", and then was told to move it forward 4", and then was told to move it to the right 4". I told the postmaster I was going to file a complaint with the Regional Office of Seattle, WA, and was told, "go ahead. It won't do you any good". So as many complaints are filed against this individual, he continues to provide substandard service, and customer harassment. His refusal to deliver parcels, results in delayed delivery, and in some cases the delay is critical (as with the medications). His refusal to deliver a certified letter, when I first moved here, resulted in the delay of closure I was selling in Oregon. By returning the mail marked as "no longer at this address" resulted in a domino effect on other correspondence, and an expenditure of time, and effort to correct the problem with the sender.

USPS claims they left a notice at 2:35 pm; however, my daughter was at her home waiting for the package all afternoon and when we called, they denied any prior delivery attempts. Therefore, USPS is responsible for the reimbursement of fees. It's not plausible to assume there was a delivery attempt at 2:35 pm and that the carrier then turned around to "re-deliver" a package that they could not locate an hour later. USPS has refused to investigate this matter. They claim their protocol is to have the patron file a complaint with consumer affairs before they will acknowledge an issue.

Today I found a recurring problem popped up big time. In weeding through the junk, I found some legitimate but almost all had been delivered to the wrong address, then redelivered after the person at the other address pointed out the error. I guess in your defense you could say that the number "6613" was the same and that your sorter are only capable of read numbers. Please close your doors and let the market do what you can't.

I sent in a request to change my address online last week for my address change to go into effect on 5/27/10. However, the postman from this post office put the change in immediately and 2 very important packages were returned to the shipper undeliverable. Now, not only do I not have the packages when I need them, I have to pay to have both packages reshipped.
In addition, about 9 months ago an iPod was stolen out of a package that was delivered to me in my locked mailbox. I reported this incidence to USPS when it occurred and never heard back as to what the outcome was. I would like to be reimbursed for the shipping fees of $6.95, and if the one package is not found, another $20.95.

I received a delivery notice about a package at the local post office. I called to have the package redelivered to me on Monday, April 19. I was home the entire day waiting for my package. I made several trips to my mailbox to check my mail. At 4pm, there was still no mail in my box. I then called the 800 number on the slip to check my redelivery. I was told I had to wait because post office delivers up to 5pm. When I did not see my delivery after 5pm, I called again. I was then given the local phone number to speak with them since the customer service rep had no solution as to why I did not get my package. I called the cathedral station and spoke with Ms. Brady.
After being put on hold for quite a while, she came back online and told me she will schedule it for tomorrow. My package had not left the building and her attitude was as if I was taking time away perhaps from her leaving for the day. I advised I needed my package since I spent the entire day waiting for it. She told me that everyone had left for the day and no one was there to redeliver the package. It seems strange since this post office's closing time was 7pm and it was not even 6pm. I was quite upset since time and time again I have experienced similar problems with this post office.
I was once told my package was not there, only to receive a phone call telling me that they found it. I have had my magazine stolen from this location as well and complained, but had no resolution to my problem. It seems to me that post office employees don't give a *** about taxpayer's mail/packages. I have since tried to avoid using the post office by sending and receiving packages by FedEx and UPS. I was unaware this package was being sent by the post office, I certainly would have paid extra to use UPS.
I tried all means to avoid this post office because of the lack of sensitivity of the postal employees. Ms. Brady advised me that I should have been home to collect my package the first time it was delivered and if I am not home when it is redelivered, it is my problem. I am outraged by this remark. I have complained prior but it is quite obvious the problem still exists. Thank goodness for the internet and the means of handling our business where we can avoid the post office and not have to stand in line to buy stamps, etc. I am forwarding this complaint to you and maybe it might reach the proper person to address this situation.

I paid for an express (overnight) delivery from Florida to New York which was guaranteed to arrive at its destination by noon on 4/17/2010. The front desk at the Holiday Inn was checked at 11:30 am and the package was not there. Again, the front desk was checked at 12:00. At 12:25, when I learned it was still not at its destination, I called the USPS 800 number and spoke with a representative who confirmed that it had not arrived but was on its way. At 1:06 pm, I took a screen shot of the USPS Tracking page on my computer, which indicates that the package was still out.
I went today to the post office to apply for a refund for the service as the package arrived late but their computerized confirmation indicates, incorrectly, that the package arrived at 11:44 am. They referred me to the 800 number for assistance. This is the same number that I called on Saturday, where it was confirmed that the package was late. They do not, however, retain records of the calls made, which would confirm my discussion with their agent at 12:25. She is the person who described the refund process to me. I was directed by the agent I spoke with today (4/19) to contact Consumer Affairs.
My son was in New York and based the plans for the day on the noon time frame that was guaranteed by the Postal Service. Plans had to be altered to accommodate the delay as the package contents were needed for one of the appointments. Failure to deliver has caused me now to have to return to the Post Office as directed per my 12:25 phone conversation to secure the refund. This results in a loss of time. I was then directed to call the 800 number as the confirmation information shows compliance by USPS. I was told that the 800 number personnel would investigate. They do not. They do not have records of calls. They can show me a written signature accepting the delivery, but only a computer generated time for the delivery. They directed me to contact Consumer Affairs. Actual costs would be the $18.30 delivery charge, misc. phone calls and time. Thanks you for your assistance with this matter.

On March 15, 2010, I sent a package to my sister in Dallas, TX. I included 2 personal checks inside the package. She never received it. I found this out because someone in Dallas post office mailed me back one of the checks. There was a note saying "this check was found loose in the mail". I started to call the USPS from one number to the other, from consumer service to customer service. The answer is the same, they apologized and gave me a reference number, told me that they would call back after 48 hours.
No one called back, so I had to call them 3 more times to get more reference numbers. Today when I called, they simply said they resolved the problem. The package never scanned in NJ, so they did not know where the package went. As I did not buy insurance, they are not responsible for it. I understand this part, but then I requested a postage refund and they said again and again, they are not responsible even for a refund of the postage because they don't refund postage unless it is over night shipment.
Basically they don't take any responsibility at all when someone's letter or package is missing. They are not responsible for the ethic behavior of their employees. I am not sure what the point is to write this complaint, as even though this is a "free" and "civilized" country, but for me this is no different than the central power, communist society.
The big company, or shall I say the "no competitors USPS" can do anything they want. Citizens can complain as much as they wish, it did not change anything. Even this website can only print out the complaints, what else they can do? It is not going to change anything. They are still one "big" corporation that no one can touch. We are still the small potatoes that have no voice. In addition, we still have to buy their stamps, otherwise, we cannot mail anything to anyone. Now tell me, what is the point?

I have called the postmaster many times and she informed me all subs would be informed about where to deliver the mail. The way your editors blame the postal workers for poor delivery makes about as much sense as blaming the auto-workers who build your cars for a poorly designed auto that gets bad gas mileage.
Please get your facts together take the time to talk to someone in the Postal Service(not management)who is knowledgeable of the problems being caused by a poorly thought out plan for 5 day delivery, the closing of many local offices, and your mail being sent out of state to process local mail! I moved from Giles Place - Bronx New York and placed a change of address with the postal service in December 8th, 2009. The Postal service has ignored my change of address and has sent my creditors and insurance company a fictitious address which is **. Every time I call my creditors and insurance company to rectify this, when it is time to send a statement the Post Office changes it back to that erroneous address. After initiating a fraud complaint - #** - Delissa ** the representative who was handling the case, said she took the forwarding address out of the database on 3/24/2010 and this should not happen again.
However, it has persisted, with the latest occurrence on 4/9/2010 according to my insurance company, Chase Bank, Geico, Capital one. They also reported this erroneous address to Equifax. When I challenged this with the Fraud Dept at USPS, I was told with a dry uncaring attitude by a representative whose name is Carla said they have done everything they could do.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said the manager was not available now and she would have her call me back. I asked what was the supervisors name and she replied Ms. B. I have yet to receive a call in reference to this matter and was left with "they did everything they could". I am at my wits end. I have exhausted all efforts to have this rectified through the USPS. I find it interesting that some of my mail gets through, while credit cards, Insurance statements, bank statements do not. When I change it at the banks they report to me that the USPS keeps changing it back to this erroneous address.
I feel that it has escalated to a crime. It is malicious. I have been harassed like this since December 2009. This seems like someone in the Post Office circumvents some of my mail and sends it back as undeliverable, with that change of address. If necessary, I have documented all of the conversations around this issue.
I am begging for your assistance in this matter. I am unable to use my credit cards, I can't get my insurance statements. This has negatively impacted my health. I am extremely depressed about this matter. I am Diabetic and this stress has elevated my levels. My blood pressure has been compromised where I had to be placed on additional medication. I live in a developed but rural area. The USPS delivers mail to most houses in the surrounding area. As I and my neighbors do not receive home delivery, we are required to have a post office box or not be able to receive bills, etc. The USPS has now informed the post office box holders that all post office boxes need to have "new rental form" filled out in order to continue to use our post office boxes. This form demanded identification including government-issued Identification cards and such items as home mortgage or home insurance paperwork.
I have no problem providing the information on government-issued cards but being forced into providing information on such items as home mortgage and insurance is something personal between myself and the private business that provide me with their services. If I received mail service at my residence, I would not have a post office box. If I was not forced into having a post office box, I would not be forced into providing information that is personal and private to complete strangers. I truthfully feel that I am being segregated by actions of the USPS and treated differently than the greater majority of people in our area.

In a nutshell: I mailed a package filled with stuffed animals and handmade get-well cards for my 12 year old cousin who is undergoing life-or-death surgery. My sister and I had purchased a box from the postal center and clearly wrote the address out to a location in Brockton, MA (a hotel my aunt and uncle were staying in near the children's hospital). Not only was the package was never received, but when I checked the tracking information, it says it was mailed to Lexington, KY! The names and zip codes are nowhere close to each other!
I opened a case with USPS and they told me they would look into it and call me in two days. Four days later, I gave them a call back and they told me that the case was closed. After re-addressing my dilemma, they reopened it. Four more days later, I got a call from an employee in Boston that explained since the package never arrived to the correct destination, they would have no record of it. Then I found a number to a Kentucky branch who did nothing for me at all. He refused to check the logs to see where the mess-up came from. He refused to contact the person who received the actual items in Lexington, "Nothing".
It's frustrating how such a well-known government-operated company could do something as irresponsible as this. I wish I could've at least taken a picture of the cards my niece and nephews made for my cousin. Now we're left with nothing on both sides for a paid service that was never fulfilled. If you're curious, the tracking number was "***".

I think this record is very, very poor! Is there no accountability within this institution?
What good is a tracking number if it says it has been delivered and it is delivered to God only knows where? Can't they find out the time of delivery by using that tracking number to see where the package was actually delivered to? Why doesn't someone do something about this very poor work performance of the delivery lady? I am out a lot of money because of this and frankly it is just wrong! Who will reimburse me for my losses? The post office just thinks they are above the law and I have talked to many people who say they have had the same types of problems. They say they'll speak to the carrier and the same thing keeps happening. Just last Saturday, 4/3/10, I spoke with Ms. T, supervisor at the P.O. I went over the problems again with her.
My house number is clearly marked. My mail slot is standard size and there is nothing blocking the other end. There is nothing preventing the carrier from sliding my mail all way into the slot. She, like the rest, assured me she would take care of it. I also have numerous complaints lodged that I receive the wrong mail & I don't know where my mail was delivered. I contacted the general number to the US Postal System several months prior and filed a complaint with the carrier. Speaking with Mr. **, I was assured the problem would be corrected. Now it is three months later and still the same carrier is not delivering "certified return receipt mail" in the manner prescribed. I am blind and have no way to travel to the post office to retrieve mail when I am at home and it can be delivered. The carrier will not even attempt a delivery to my door. I was expecting a letter from an attorney's office in Denver and was advised it had been returned once for non-delivery and advised on April 5, the mail had been sent again, certified mail, for signature.
I remained home everyday this week until after 8:00 pm before going off the property. The carrier placed a ticket in the box, discovered by my husband after 8:00 pm when he came home from work dated 04/07/2010 that letter would be at post office by the next morning, 04/08/2010. Again, I called the central "800" number and spoke with Michele, filing another complaint, at which time she again got Mr. ** on the phone and he assured he would rectify the matter and have the carrier redeliver the mail. I waited until 4:15 on 04/09/2010 and spoke again after receiving an email from Mr. ** advising if I had anymore trouble to call the number listed. Still, there was no delivery of my mail.
Then I decided to run a trace on the letter only to find the postal system falsified the records stating the mail had been delivered at 2:47 pm on April 07, 2010. Strange how the mail was delivered to me with my signature at my residence and never once did it make it to my hands. The mail contained personal documents and a check in the amount of $1074 returning funds for services not provided from the attorney Wesilles and Suchoperk in Denver.
It is time something is done to protect the rights of consumers who pay for these services and do not receive what they pay for.As a blind person I can concede to normal mail delivery my husband will retrieve from the mail box when he comes home from work, but I will not concede to discriminating practices from carriers who feel they can do as they please. We are taxpaying citizens who work hard to pay the salaries of these public service employees and they need to correct the problems or find another set of employees who will be happy to get the job done.
No labor union in the land would condone theft of mail, false recording of legal mail that was never delivered and most of all any attempt at direct or intentional discriminatory practices against consumers.I live in the city on a busy street and it is not safe for me to be alone on the street where the mail box is located. There is no fence, animal or difficulty to arrive at my front door, and the carrier deliberately refuses to come here. I feel she should be replaced as a carrier if this is the treatment she is presenting to concerned citizens in a city environment of less than 20,000 people.
I wish I could file a class action about how the mail carriers treat blind persons and other disabled citizens in receiving their mail in a safe environment. We have protections regarding architectural barriers and yet the United States Postal System employees are being allowed to get away with abusive practices nationwide. It is not only about disabled. It is about every citizen who purchases and pays for the services of the US Postal system. The average postal carrier is paid from $21-$27 dollars per hour plus benefits and yet they are some of the most uncaring employees in the USA today.
Please help to fix this problem. I feel there should be more done to ensure mail is promptly delivered as prescribed, especially paid services that require receiving a signature.

They pay postage, "Presorted Standard Postage Paid," with a permit number and everything. And yet, our postmaster refuses to take the time to place them in our P.O. boxes. Instead, she leaves them in a pile or two on the floor under the counter in the lobby. She has been warned in the past that posted mail is required to be delivered in the mailbox. However she refuses to.
I complained to her three months ago, and not only has nothing changed in her practices, but since then, parcels mailed to my street address (the USPS will not deliver to my street address) were returned to the sender. She refuses to look up the P.O. box number. Because we no longer have a choice in which carrier is used when ordering through online companies, I have no way to receive parcels that cannot be mailed to a P.O. box, such as computer software (thanks to Homeland Security rules).
I wish I could "opt out" of the USPS entirely, but that is not possible. In this era when jobs are so scarce, it's tragic that one is wasted on an individual who doesn't appreciate what having no income is like. I say give her a good long taste of unemployment, so she doesn't have to worry about her horrible job anymore. Give it to someone who wants it!
I now have to worry that a postal employee is going to retaliate against me. That means I need to constantly look over my shoulder, as this particular type of worker has known for past violence.

The Postmaster has taken it upon herself to have the subdivision, that is 800 feet away, placed their mailboxes in front our home (7 feet from our driveway). The reason that was given to us was due to snow removal, park vehicles and turn around issues within the subdivision; even though a full size garbage truck has no problems picking up the garbage weekly within the subdivision and yet, the mail carrier cannot turn around in the area.
The mail carrier also delivers mail to homes on dead end roads and to homes on hills and yet this one subdivision, they cannot turnaround? We have already experienced problems with privacy, having our driveway blocked and individuals sitting with their car running, sorting their mail. We have requested for a compromise and have the mailboxes moved down to the property line so to avoid some of the issues and yet the postmaster will not respond to our request. We feel that the subdivision mailboxes should be located in the subdivision or at least at the entrance to it not in front of our home.
We are extremely upset with the Post Office attitude that they can do whatever they want. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why they are going out of business. We realize this is a Federal Government Agency and we have no choice, but we still would like to voice our concerns and see if we have any rights in this matter. We live on a busy main street, our driveway has been blocked, they sit in their car in front of our home while sorting through their mail. We know how unsightly mailboxes can get as we are on our fourth and as long as it isn't in front of their home, they won't care. The postmaster has created a problem with our neighbor.

The route that I am a part of does not have a regular mailman. So there are 26 different mail people who deliver the mail to my address. In other words, there is a different mailman that delivers the mail everyday except for Sundays when there is no mail of course. I went to the local station as a couple of years ago this problem of the mail going to different addresses of the block was a problem. It was handled. But not this time. I was met with hostility, called out of my name, told to rent a post office box and/or pay 500.00 for something else I am quite not for sure of.
I called Consumer Affairs and I thought the problem was handled from the letter that was delivered to my house in a couple of days. (I received that letter). However, it was not resolved I went to the post office thinking if they could hold the mail for me a couple of days to see if I need to actually have the company to reissue the check. The company told me if they reissued it, would have to go to another address. I was very concerned because now I had to make a decision, home delivery or delivery to another address. I went down to talk to the manager. He said he would hold it
The next day before I had a chance to go get it, it was delivered. Fine. The particular mail I was looking for was still not there. So I went the 2nd day to collect the mail like we had agreed and low and behold, the station mgr met me at the counter and said I don't have the mail. You did not come and get it yesterday and I am not holding anymore mail and that is how we are going to solve this situation and he spoke loud and belligerent, spit dropping from his mouth and at times, me and I kept asking him to please lower his voice. He was shaking, would not lower his voice shouting at me crazy like I was nothing.
I called back the consumer affairs. They said that his mgr was well aware of the situation and again she was told what I could do to get my mail, rent a p.o box, etc. I asked for an apology. She said she could not ask him to do that because it was in the mananger's hand. I talked to the same person both times, the first time she was concerned agreeing was a travesty discourteous, humiliation will not be accepted however, it must have been accepted by his manager because I cannot believe he would risk his career screaming and hollering at me in front of everyone, including the customer service rep who called me a **. I could not believe it. Something has to be done. His manager must have given him the ok to be idiotic towards me. I need help.

The problem was that our daughter was on spring break and will have returned to school by then, that her passport would expire before she would return after the school year was over and that we had purposely scheduled the appointment because of this.
We explained this to the supervisor, Mr. F, who was absolutely unyielding. He insisted they did not take "walk-ins" and that we only had an appointment for the following Saturday. He refused to process the application despite it being their error. I asked whether there was any legal restriction or rule that precluded taking our daughter's application but he answered only that we were not in his appointment book for that day, that he did not take walk-ins, and that was that. In the time, he argued with us. He could have easily taken the application but instead used the time to argue.
Even though it was their error, there was no accommodation. My daughter is now returning to school without having renewed her passport. In a normal business, this kind of attitude and inflexibility would lose a customer but plainly that doesn't matter with the US Postal Service because they know there is no real choice, remedy or recourse. They advertise it being more convenient to renew passports at the post office but that wasn't the case here.

My complaint: why did the USPS decide to no longer list telephone numbers of individual local offices in telephone directories or on the web? This is most inconvenient and reflects that agency's attitude about serving the public.

For the last six years I have been having my mail forwarded to my winter address in Florida. In the past this has not been a problem. I filled out the required forms in the same manner as always but my mail never got forwarded. I called the office repeatedly but could never get the mail to be forwarded to my address. At this time it is still not resolved. I am at a loss of how to proceed. My children have tried to assist in this matter but have had no luck either. I am a senior citizen who lives on my own. I am not receiving any of my checks or bills and I have fallen behind on paying my bills because of this. I have also received late payment fees, something that I have never had before in my life.

I sent a letter to Adult probation office in Terrell, Texas and realized that I inadvertently put in the mail without correct postage. When I discovered this error, I contacted the probation office to see if the letter was received in their office and was advised that it was refused since it did not have enough postage. At this point, I contacted the Terrell post office and was advised that the letter was sent back to me. After 1 week, I contacted again and spoke with George, the manager, and he said the letter should have been sent back and would discuss with carrier in that area and would call back.
The carrier called back the next day and advised that he remembered the letter and it should be sent back to me shortly. It would either get back to me, to them or to the probation office. Thereafter, I have called back several calls and left numerous messages for the manager George to call back, but he has not returned my call. I wanted to know the US responsibilities when mail is lost. This letter included a $50 money order and for me to place a stop payment on the money order, I have to pay $10. It has been 4 weeks in which I was told the letter was sent back and I still have not received my letter.

The mail carrier left a receipt for recipient to collect package at post office in 3118 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA, but when recipient arrived to post office to collect package the post office doesn't have it. Basically they lost it. These are very important legal documents that could possibly cause identity fraud if in the wrong hands. Because of the importance of this package and the fact that it hasn't been received by the recipient, legal litigation and the packages non-existence is creating a delay in legal litigation.

The package is 'lost' between 3 different stations and no one will take responsibility for the delivery. The driver states that he does not come from the station that has the package. The package is not at the Hoover station, or at the local station the driver comes from, but at a totally different station called Green Springs. I shipped a Priority Mail package from post office in Manlius NY 13104 to Emmaus PA 18049 on 1/15/2010. It was the third item on the receipt of several priority packages mailed that day. All of the other packages reached their different destinations.
The box was well wrapped, well taped, with no other codes or letters showing. The label was computer-generated and also covered with clear shipping tape so it could not have gotten wet, smeared or fallen off the box. I had used two $4.05 Priority stamps, equaling to $8.10 worth of postage, which was nearly a dollar more than necessary. So lack of sufficient postage wasn't an issue. I heard from the post office after filing a claim through their website but two months later, no results. It's hard to imagine the package fell from a mail truck.
We've had issues with the Emmaus PA post office in the past, saying items were “not there” and then having them suddenly appear two weeks later or packages not reaching their destination to local business in that town. I doubt that our local post office is the problem. We've had similar things happen with mail sent to the Emmaus PA address from other places in the Northeast other than our local post office.
The package contained two new long-sleeved t-shirts, a new workout jacket and a new journal. I didn't insure it because it seemed Priority Mail is a good gamble and should have arrived within 2 days. Not as though we threw some things into an envelope and shipped off via Media Mail. The intended recipient closed the Emmaus post office box today (March 31, 2010).

This is another consumer complaint against USPS. I want to start off by saying that the USPS customer service is a joke, because they treat people like crap and don't show any moral empathy, only apathy! If any mail or package is lost, broken, or stolen, good luck with that one, because if it is lost, it goes to the Atlanta recovery center, which is actually an auction center, not a recovery center.
Only about 40% gets recovered and sent back; the rest gets sold, and guess where the money goes? Did you know that there is only one "Recovery Center" in our whole Nation? What? I think this is all a scam, and this needs to stop!
OK, I will tell you a little about my USPS story. I sent five boxes to my self, because I was transitioning to an out-of-state school, and go figure, the box that ended up missing is the one I really need, because it had all my info, including birth certificate, other goal-achieved certificates, social security card, all my receipts, and just about every personal information I have was in the box, including very important art work too and random stuff as well.
I was going to put insurance on it, and the representative behind the counter said I shouldn't do that due to theft. "if the package has insurance, then it will look like it is very important and expensive too. So it has more of a chance getting stolen," she said. I am a student and have no money to spend at all, and it does cost a lot of money to send packages, especially if it is first class which I couldn't afford. So with or without insurance, I was screwed!
I got a letter in the mail from the Atlanta Recovery center, and I tell you what, it was very hard to get their contact number! I went on the website, and it was an auction site, not a recovery center site. I smelled scam! I finally achieved my goal and got a number with hours lost due to talking to the rudest people ever, and I am serious; they are very rude, you know, how you can get a confirmation number and that is if you pay for it?
Well I got one, and it didn't help, period, because the system saw the package still in transition, but yet Atlanta sent a letter saying we got a damaged package and that "we need info about the box and what was in it." It seemed like I was the only one who knew that my important box was in Atlanta getting prepared to be auctioned out. The USPS representatives I talked to before I got a hold of the Atlanta site actually said, "You don't know what you are talking about. You should get the package soon." And this is one of the nicer comments I got. I had a lady mocking me like a broken parrot, and she wouldn't give me her name at all when I asked for it.
I also got hung up on. "Sir, I can't give you any info about Atlanta." Then click! I will admit that I was real frustrated when talking to these people, because no one would listen to me or give me correct info, but I didn't deserve to be treated like that.
You know I could go on and on with my story, but what good does that do? I can complain and complain, but what does that do? Nothing at all! I have read so many complaints about the USPS, not only to feel like I am not alone on this but also to listen to people's feelings about what they have lost or had broken.
USPS does not care for packages at all and just throw them around like it was trash or something. I sent stuff out through the USPS a lot and always get bent or messed up-looking boxes. This is what I mean by no empathy. They have no respect, no empathy, and no customer service skills (maybe the cashiers do); and I think it is about time we do something about this problem.
I know for a fact that it is real hard to get your point across by your self, but If we all get together, my friends, and sue them to make a point, not to gain money or anything, but make a point with action, then maybe we can create a better system for the people. I know my box is long gone, but if I can help out people before they turn into a victim, then that is rewarding enough for me.
We should protest on a certain day in front of that business, sue them for messing up not only people's private belongings but also people's lives! For an example, all my personal info could be in the hands of someone who steals identities! Your identity can be stolen as well, and not to mention the work that is involved with getting your identity protected takes so much work. It is not even funny.
We invest in certain companies that either need to wake up or need to be taken off the market and let another company take over who can fulfill their job and have integrity for who they are. This is very important to have integrity for who you are and the company that you have or work for. If not then this is where things fail, brake, gets lost, or stolen, or even worse!
Well, this is my story and complaint against USPS, and I still think we need to do something and we should get together as a community and change this, not only change USPS but companies like USPS. Or even better, let's change the face of the corporate companies that ruin our economy! It is up to us to change things for the better, for our children, for the future, and for your self. Let's be a community and unite to be strong, to make a strong economy. Writing letters to communicate like I am doing goes only so far.

On Tuesday, February 16th, I went to the Algonquin Post Office to ascertain why I had not received any mail the previous week. When I arrived, I was informed that my mail had been held at the discretion of the postal carrier because my mailbox was full. I informed the clerk that the mailbox had been emptied on February 5th and that no mail was delivered the entire week between February 8th and the 13th. This was problematic as I was expecting an insurance check, additional tax information need to file my 2009 taxes and a small parcel from Amazon.com. I then asked the clerk for the held mail and you can imagine my dismay when the response was "I don't know where it is, it's under someone's desk. You'll have to call back tomorrow".
I have two serious concerns here: (1) If the APO empowers their employees with the discretionary authority to withhold delivery, shouldn't common courtesy and hopefully postal regulations, dictate that the postal patron be notified? (2) The totally inappropriate response from the clerk that indicated a very haphazard approach to handling mail. Do they legally have the right to hold my mail without my consent and without notifying me? As of today, March 30th, the same thing has happened again.
I seriously question whether I have been given all my mail and whether or not it will be entirely delivered in the future. I am angered and disappointed by the actions of the APO employees. I am requesting that you investigate this problem and contact me with the conclusion. I would also appreciate you check on any additional mail that is being held without my consent. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter and I look forward to your prompt response. I am denied my right as an American citizen to receive my mail.

I sent my brother 4 audio CDs and 4 issues of Guitar Player magazine for his birthday via USPS, using only delivery confirmation (not package insurance) for the service. I personally delivered the package for shipping to my local USPS office (Narberth, PA, 19072), and the package was addressed to my brother's PO box at the Hershey, PA USPS Office (17033), so the package was never out of the care of USPS. He emailed me to let me know that his package had been opened when he received it and to confirm whether the birthday gift consisted of only one magazine issue.
This means that someone in the USPS system between Narberth and Hershey stole my brother's 4 CDs, 3 issues of Guitar Player magazine, and his birthday card! I would estimate the total value of the stolen goods to be in the area of $50 (not including shipping and handling, ha ha). More importantly, I am upset that my brother will not be getting his birthday gift on time, and I feel as though my privacy and trust in USPS' service has been violated. I went to the post office on Saturday, March 27, spoke with Thales again, who said I had "no mail" again, and Thales gave me the carrier supervisor's name and number (Jacky-561-799-4068) and told me to contact her regarding this. I went back to the post office today, March 29, and a different person (counter person) whose name is Mary told me that I had "no mail." I told Mary (counter person) that I spoke with another person named Mary on Saturday, March 27 regarding this, and after giving Mary (person I spoke with over the phone on March 27) my name, address, home and cell phone numbers, I never heard from Jacky (supervisor of carriers).
Mary (counter person) told me that the Mary I spoke with on Saturday was right in the lobby, but in the meantime, Mary (counter person) would submit a note to investigate where my mail was (to the carrier). Mary also said that perhaps my carrier was on vacation and another carrier put my mail in the mailbox, where I cannot get it, since I am still waiting for my my mailbox to be re-keyed for 3 weeks now! After Mary (counter person) finished helping me, I spoke with the Mary that I spoke with over the phone on Saturday, March 27, and reminded Mary about my phone call on Saturday, and told Mary that Jacky (carrier supervisor) never called me.
Mary was not very receptive toward my speaking with her, which I did in a very courteous manner, and all she could say was, "Jacky never called you?" to which I replied, "No, she didn't" at which point Mary "assured me that Jacky would call me" to prompt me to leave. I am certain that I have mail sitting in my locked mailbox, and I want someone to go into my mailbox, retrieve my mail, and bring it back to the post office!
The Palm Beach Gardens Post Office leaves much to be desired with their treatment of me! I would like to know, if this is the way the post office normally conducts business, because if it is, I may write to my local paper and describe this entire matter to them, and expose the post office for the lack of service it provides! I would appreciate a response and a resolution to my problem. After which, I sent the mentioned $50 money order to Hongkong via registered mail, service worth $11.50 only to find out later that the money order is not negotiable in Hongkong. When I went back to post office, I was told by one of the clerks that I should have checked the receipt which indicates "postal money order to japan." The receipt was printed after an error was made so why would I be responsible simply because I overlooked what was printed on the receipt.
Furthermore, it would be unthinkable on my part to to say Japan instead of Hongkong since the two are definitely distinguishable with totally different sounding names. The clerk must have mistaken Hongkong as part of Japan. When I suggested to the manager that the post office should conspicuously post a notice indicating the list of countries accepting international postal money orders, the manager simply said, "We already have a lot of signs and notices here." Also, the US Postal Service should print on the face or back of the postal money order itself the list of countries which accepts postal money order to prevent such error from happening again.

This is still happening frequently as much as 3-4 times a week. I called and complained of not receiving my mails from Social Security office that they said I didn't respond to a recent mailing that was important to return back by certain date and the piece of mail was sent out 5 weeks earlier.
I was then panicking and in fear that somebody else had received it when I was informed by Social Security of such mail material. I constantly would and still do take mails back to counter at Post Office and tell the clerk where I lived and point out the person’s name and address where it should had been delivered. Also, I have constantly had other residents in Los Alamos area bring my mail that was delivered to their homes from across town. I have in this 2-1/2 years moved twice and changed my address each time, but this has happened and continue to happen at all residents in Los Alamos.
Regardless where I live or how many times I move I should not receive other label addressed mail or have my mail go to the wrong address and later be delivered to me by another Los Alamos resident, or informed they received it but returned it back to the Post Office. I recently had received people’s tax W-2's from their employers from many different states: Utah, Kentucky, and Georgia. New York and Tennessee also mail for out of country that should have went to Mexico and Sweden, and I took them back to Post Office complaining of the problem once again, and now with out-of-state mails and out-of-country mails coming to my residence.
I also called the Post Office on another matter that a few companies sending me bills owed for products that I had not received was now threatening me with collections for things they claimed they sent in mail. So explaining this to the man that answered the phone at Los Alamos Post Office, I believe he said his name was Carlos. Recently he apologized and checked to see if it may have been placed on hold for delivery or placed on hold to return to company that may have sent it. I told him that these companies are claiming dated back as far as I have been informed dated material as of July last year 2009. He stated there has been a big problem with delivery of the mail that they did not know or could not explain why there was this problem but he assured me that the Postal service was looking into this matter as we spoke.
On February 4, 2010 a woman came to my house stating she had been out of country the past 6 months and the person who looked after her home and personal mail had received some letter mails and 7 packages in late January that was addressed to me and she had dropped them off at the Post Office to be delivered to the correct address. She said because of the problem she was aware of with the Post Office delivery service, she decided to stop by my home and inform me that the housekeeper had returned items to the Post Office back in late January and dropped them off to be delivered to the correct address.
After her house sitter told her what address she believed the packages and letter mails had on them, she decided to stop by and check to see if I was expecting any packages and had I received them and explained how they were left at her home and her housekeeper’s decision to return them to the Post Office. So I immediately thanked her and called the Post Office for them to once again check and state they had no packages for me that he could recall and tried to say maybe it was because of my recent address change, but at this time it’s February and I’ve changed address last September, beginning of October, but he continued. He was sure the packages could be with the postal worker for delivery and that he would speak with the postal worker for my mail route and solve this matter if possible. He stated if the post worker didn't have the packages, that it was possible they were sent back to the companies that actually sent them and I needed to, after a week, call the companies to confirm they received the items.
I am not sure myself who sent them, but had for months been expecting items from a few different companies that claimed they had sent out some time back. In mid-November 2009, I also had a man bring me 4 packages from 1 company and this man said they were delivered that morning to his home once again from the other side of town. I immediately took them to post and refused them, stating I was tired of how the Post Office was delivering my mail to wrong addresses and explained how a man just brought them to me that had been delivered to his home that day and I stated the packages never had been opened after the clerk had said something about checking to see if I had to pay any return postage or not because I wanted them immediately returned to sender.
I refused I was reliable for any wrong delivery and I stomped out of the Post Office mad because the stress that the services I am receiving here in Los Alamos is causing so much stress on me. I am just wondering if between the packages the man brought to me and any of the packages the woman said her housekeeper returned was the same pieces of mail floating around USA for delivery or return to senders. What if a piece of mail important with my private identity or SSN, birth date, banking information, etc., was to be delivered into the wrong hands? I just wanted to add that I have received some packages and mail okay, but all packages these companies say they sent have not come to my address.
I am being threatened of being turned over to collections of mail notices and packages of unpaid merchandise I never received and they (companies) claim they have not received back. I’m stressed out to the point that is risking my health conditions and worsen my health because I haven't received many things (mail or packages) or even know what has actually been sent out to me that I haven’t received because I don't know what should be expected, but only know what these companies swear they had been sent. I’m not sure if any of these companies could also be taking advantage of me because of multiple conversations telling them I haven't received anything, or certain item they claim they sent, after I have repeatedly explained the problem with the mail delivery in my area and just claiming they sent mail or packages that they really may not have.
My credit is at risk if I can't find a way to resolve this mail problem and find out what went where or actually been returned. My health has worsened from the worry of the problems accrued with mail. Blood pressure is out of control to high numbers that can result in heart attack/stroke, or even death. I feel the Postal Service is responsible for the stress and the threats these companies are making towards me.

I ordered online a DVD. The tracking number is: **. It says that USPS system clearly that it was delivered in the 78259 zip code, and my zip code is 78261. I called 1-800-ASK-USPS on 03/12, and they said the were going to do investigations. No one returned my call. I went to the office on 03/23/10 and a guy in the front didn't want to help me, his last name is Garcia. He was rude and said he was going to believe the system not me because the item was delivered, not in my zip code, but it was delivered. That same day, I filled another 2 reports. And today, a lady called me and she said the item is lost because nobody knows what happened. The DVD is $25 and I paid $3 for shipping.

There was a dog hold on my address due to my neighbor's dog (I live in a duplex). I was unaware of the hold because the mail man delivering would continue to deliver to my house. According to the manager, Laura, he was not supposed to be delivering to anyone on the premises at all, but he continued delivering to me. In the middle of February, I stopped getting mail completely which is why I went to the post office to inquire. They told me due to my neighbor’s dog, I was no longer getting mail and that they had sent out letters notifying me. I never received a letter because the mail men delivering to my house were inconsistent about holding my mail, and delivering. So the one day they decided to hold the mail, is the day the letter was sent out. I spoke with the manager and she said she would give me ten days to deal with the problem otherwise get a PO Box within those ten days.
So I went home, spoke with the landlord and they demanded the dog be gone from my neighbor's premises. Before the 10 days were up, I went back to the post office to notify the dog was gone and spoke with a supervisor on a Saturday. He told me that they would resume my mail the coming Monday and to disregard getting a PO Box. That coming Monday nothing came, so I gave it two days, still nothing. A few days I finally went back, spoke with another supervisor who told me they needed in writing that the dog was gone. And I asked if any of my mail was being sent back because there are very important documents coming in, and the supervisor clearly said no. He also said to bring the letter during the week when Laura, the manager is there. So I got the letter together, had my neighbor sign it and we both went to the office to drop it off. Just our luck, Laura was in a meeting so I left the letter with an employee to give to her along with a phone number. The latter stated the dog was gone and also that the residents would be leaving at the end of the month anyways.
I figured they would hold my mail until the end of the month or someone would come and verify the dog was gone. I never heard back from anyone so a few days later, which is today. I went back to inquire once again and to also pick up mail, and they tell me I have no mail that it has been sent back. Finally, I speak with Laura who tells me she sent back my mail because I didn't get a PO Box. And I explained to her how a supervisor said it was no longer necessary, and how I had been cooperating and doing what I had been told to do, so that my mail wouldn't be sent back. She was completely unaware of anything due to lack of communication from them and she also claims she never got a letter, but her employee claims he did hand it to her the day I went. She just probably cared less to read it. She stated that I should have only went by the instructions she gave me when we first talked but how was I supposed to know a supervisor does not have the authority to instruct me with such things if he was so willing to do so numerous times.
I went in several times, kept everyone updated including supervisors and never got a PO Box because I was told I no longer had too since the dog was gone. Not once did anyone come to verify the dog was gone or to inform me of anything! How can they tell a mail man not to deliver mail but deliver a letter after an incident with a dog, it does not make sense. Someone should have came from the post office to inform me there was a problem in the first place and someone should have came to verify the dog was gone when I first told them it was gone. Apparently, they were sending back mail only sometimes due to the lack of communication. So when I was under the impression they were holding all my mail that was not the case. Important letter and checks were missing.
When I went today to talk to Laura, she was unaware of everything. Even that I had ever came in at all or my letter and she also seemed very careless about my situation. I tried hard to keep my cool and I did for the majority of our conversation, but by the end I became heated when I asked her so what do I do and all she said was "well call the people whose letters you need and get a PO Box.” That was her only solution. She admitted to the fact they had made a mistake due to lack of communication within the office, and yet, she seemed carefree and was not willing to provide me with any help. After all the times I went in to talk to someone and verify my mail wasn’t being sent back or to verify I was doing all the right things, this still happened and I feel I am being punished when in reality I should not be. If I hadn’t been told not to get a PO Box, I would have gotten one. I was willing to do so.

On Feb. 18, 2010, I mailed a package to my son in Los Angeles, CA 90028. This package was for a birthday on March 10, 2010. Delivery attempt was made on March 11. They left a note saying they would re-deliver on Mar 18, 2010. This is an apt complex with a manned office, where packages are usually left. My son left a note on the apt door stating to please deliver to the office. There was no delivery. Today, March 24, 2010, I received the package back. I called the 1-800 customer service number and basically I was told that my son has to go to his local post office to pick the package up and basically stating that I was lying. There was no refund, no offer to resend the package. I'm out +$15 with no recourse.

On October 2008, I requested for my mail to be forwarded. Due to issues with the condo, I moved. The mail was forwarded. On 11/23, I suffered a stroke and decided it would be in my best interest to move back into my home. I once again requested my mail to be forwarded. I have had major problems with my mail. I have important mail coming to me from Disability.
Since my stroke, I have applied for public assistance and have not received any correspondence. I spoke to my case worker in which I was informed that my mail was returned to sender. Now, mind you, my correct address is on file. I applied for unemployment and received no mail. I made contact with unemployment and they also informed me that the mail was sent out and returned. It has gotten to the place where I have to use my brother's address just to get my mail.
My food stamp card was issued three times, was sent to my address and then, was returned to sender. I only received a card using my brother's address. On 3/11/10, I sent a certified letter. On Tuesday, 3/23/10, I received a call from the person in which I sent the certified letter to. The person informed me that they had forwarded the information I requested.
I requested the person to forward the mail to my brother's address. On Wednesday, 3/24/10, I went to 119 St. Gratigny Post Office and requested the certified letter to be tracked. I was informed that the item was delivered on 3/12/10. I then spoke to area manager Ariel ** about my issues with my mail and why I haven't received my receipt of the item being delivered. Ariel stated, "Well, I hope it's on the way." I have emailed the post office and made some inquiries. I do not know what else to do. I never thought anything could happen like this. It's like I'm an idiot. All USPS can say is, "We send out whatever comes to us." Please assist me with this problem, my health is not ready for this.

For seven (7) years, I'm out weekly delivering my neighbors mail left in my mailbox by mistake. Some neighbors are now just throwing others mail away. I've caught my mailman taking my packages home when he's tired of delivering for the day. They show delivered online and I called only to have it tracked down and they actually called him (twice) where he said "he didn't realize the package was in his truck".
I've taken hands full of neighbors mail up to talk to the person in charge but nothing has been done for seven years. I had my attorney called to see if I received the papers for my divorce this Friday. Of course Not. I even had an overnight package disappear and the post office said I have to track it down myself by calling the sender. They couldn't help me. I know we live in a small growing lake town, but please. Missed court dates because I didn't receive the paper work. Having to pay for second copies of information to be mailed. Paying for tracked mail so it will get to me.

I mailed a package to Newport, New Virginia but mistakenly wrote my address on the express mail form as the person that sent and to receive the package. The package was returned back to me instead of going to the person that the package was addressed to per address on the package. Should the package been returned to me and because of the failed delivery, should I be refunded the money $20.20 paid for the shipment of this package?

It does not take 2 days to deliver mail from Dallas Texas to Wilmer Texas 75172. Would you please find out why this package has not been delivered yet? Where is it? It seems the carrier still has it. The question is, why?

The above information is not true. I am home all day. No one rang my door bell and if they don't ring the bell, how is an attempt made? I'm on the third floor. If the bell isn't rung, how do I know the package is here? This is the second time this has happened. Only this time a notice wasn't even left. I have submitted two redelivery forms. One for 3/23 and one for 3/24. Nothing came on the 23rd. I called and was told to call main post office on the 24th, which I did between 8-9 am (800)275-8777. I was told because I didn't have a missed you notice, my package might not be redelivered. So, now I'm being held responsible for the postman not doing his job.
Whoever placed the attempt to deliver information, lied. No attempt was made. And now I have to just sit here and hope I get what I have paid for. This is outrageous. The person I spoke to about this gave me no assurance whatsoever. From now on I'm going to try and make sure my packages are delivered by another source. If I don't get my item today, I am going to call tomorrow and a complaint will be filed. I don't believe one word of it. If someone can lie about making a delivery and leaving a notice so I will just financially be out of what I paid for the item. Since this is the second time this has occurred, I felt the need to put my own complaint in. Thank You.

We have not received mail since 3/10/10. After about 4 days of not getting any mail to our mail box, we decided to go to the local post office on 3/15. Oscar went to the post office to find out what was going on as we were waiting for very important documents that had been mailed already. He was helped by a clerk name Julie who was very rude and kept on talking over me. This including talking to the clerk next to her in another language. He was told that we had no mail because our box was full. She also told him that Raquel needed to go get her mail herself. She was very firm and in a diminor tone she told me that they would not deliver mail until all the mail had been picked up.
On 3/16/10, I myself, took the time off work to go to the post office to get my mail. When I arrived I was also assisted by the clerk named Julie who was also very rude to me. I told her that we had been out for a couple of days and that was the reason why the box was full, that we were very sorry for the inconvenience. She was very short and did not care much for my apology. She went to get 2 pieces of mail and I asked if they would now please deliver the mail to my mailbox. She said no, that we still had mail to be picked up. I asked what mail and she said Ricardo **. I told her that was my son and if she would please give it to me. She said, "No. Hoe do I know he is your son?" I explained to her that my son was in school and she said, "Well, bring something to show he is your son."
As I did not have anything with me to prove he is my son, I had to leave. At that point, before I left I asked if that was the only person that needed to pick up mail and she said yes. I asked again if they would now deliver mail. She said, "No, not until you pick everything up. And call the supervisor". She gave me the telephone number and I was told to call before 7:30 the next morning."
I asked my Dad to take my son after school to pick up his mail. When my son went to the post office, he got one piece of mail for him and one for me. He also asked if there was anything else. He was told that there was mail for Angela and Andrew. He asked if he could please have that mail. They told him no. Andrew and Angela are my other kids. As you can see, I don't understand why Julie would not tell me that there was mail for Andrew who is 12 yrs old and Angela who is 4 yrs old.
Oscar went again on 3/17 to pick up the mail for Andrew and Angela. At that point, they told him we would now receive our mail. We continued to not get mail until today 3/23/10. We call today at 7:00 am to ask if they would please deliver our mail. They said we should be able to get the mail today and to check. We did finally get mail but 2 pieces of mail. My frustration is that now, all my past mail for over 10 days has been lost or returned. I have no utility bills among our other mail.
My frustration is the treatment my entire family and I received from the postal workers. I felt very humiliated when I went to the post office and in front of all the other customers, I was treated like that by Julie. How she kept on talking in another language made me very upset as I felt that she was talking about me. I understand we made a mistake by not getting our mail out of the box for a couple of days and it was due to a medical emergency. I had to explain that to her in front of other people which I did not appreciate. I am a working person and pay taxes and don't believe that I deserved the way we have been treated, specially after doing everything they told me to do, going numerous times to the post office, calling before 7:30am. Everything they asked us to do, we did.
We did not get any of our bills, Now, we will probably be late and have to pay late fees. I had to take 2 hours off work to go to the post office. They open at 9:00 and I work in Long Beach. My fiance's EDD checks were lost. That was the biggest economic damage as he did not get the checks and we need his income to survive with our daily life. He also lost very important documents that he confirmed with EDD that was mailed last week on 3/17/10.
