I am tired of beeing treated by rude, surly and at most times, incomprehensible people at this particular post office. I would strongly suggest that the people that work there actually go to some kind of customer service class, that tells them how to communicate efficiently without being short, and rude with customers.
There are so many instances that I have witnessed where an employee there wouldn't answer a question, or berated elderly people for even asking a question. The people that work there should not have a job. Seriously they abuse the public as they know they are the only post office many people in that area can go.
None, unless you count mental abuse!

We have had contiunual issues with mail delivery coming out of this post office. I have had items mailed at the Maryvale Station not show up for weeks. In our home delivery we have had numerous problems in mail being lost or returned to the sender. Important insurance and medical items have never been received.
We have also received mail that is not ours, and in returning them to the mail carrier to take to the correct addressed, were met with an ill tempered attitude. This has been an ongoing issue with this post office, and in attempting to call the number listed online, there has never been anyone answer.
My mother is a cancer patient and has missed several items sent by her doctors in the mail. She also did not receive an insurance check that had to be reissued. I had insurance papers that were sent back to the insurance office resulting in a delay in payment on my end for services rendered.

I am receiving mail and small packages. They are open or destroyed. I have had to go to fair hearing and court for some documents and letters that was never received. I can't begin to tell you how many things that I was suppose to have received that I didn't receive.. And I do think that I am a victim of identity thief due to the bad postal service in Co-op city.

I mailed a package on May 23,2008 inside the post office for 4.80. The contents are ajob to make money to live. It was worth 120.00 plus the 4.80 to mail it. This was of very great importance to myself!!! Today the package showed up in my mailbox completely torn apart and taped by Postal workers. Remember I mailed it inside w/proof. The package has appeared like it got wet and washed the receiving address off. It looks like someone spilled a drink on it or whatever. I can't believe this I'm just in tears.

My Post Office Box Rent was due on Saturday May 31, 2008. The rent was unpaid on June 3, 2008. When I went to the post office to get my mail the box was blocked and empty. I understand this part because it has always been policy that the box be blocked for ten days and if the rent is not paid the box will be permanently closed.
The problem is when I went to the window to pick up my mail I was told that I could not get my mail because my box rent had not been paid. Can the post office refuse to give me my mail because the box rent has not been paid?
The check for the rent had been written we just had not taken it to the post office.

We have a very lazy postman and I don't know what I can do about it. It is not in my power keep people from parking in front of my mailbox. It is located on a public street and people will park where they want. And I am not receiving my mail because of this! I pay 42 cents a letter and up to $10 a package, and why? So that I don't receive my mail until a week later? (The mail man writes on the mail, Mailbox blocked/Date) This is totally unfair!
We pay what we're supposed to pay to the post office no questions asked, and now we can't get our mail delivered for about a week later if the mail man decides he doesnt want to deliver it. What if my mortgage payment was due and it had to be paid late because the mail man didnt deliver? Who will be help liable? On top of gas prices and everything else going up, now we have to worry about late fees because the mail man is being lazy! Please help me! What can we do?
Received a late item from an ebay transaction and it resulted in a big problem.

I attempted to pay my P.O. Box renewal fee in person on May 23 2008. I had the bill from the P.O. 12 Months renewal is stated as $40.00 and the Due Date was May 31, 2008. When I arrived at the P.O. I was informed by the clerk that the fee had been increased by $2.00. I said fine - but that increase should not be effective until AFTER May 31, 2008, as my bill gave me until May 31st to pay only $40.00 for renewal. She informed me that her boss told her to start charging the increase even though the Due Date for the current amounts (minus increase) was not for another week.
While $2.00 may not sound like much, I feel it's the point here. It seems fraudulent to me that someone at the USPO can just decide to begin a PO Box increase at their whim, and completely disregard the Due Date we customers were already provided in order to pay the current rate prior to an increase being put into effect. I received NO NOTICE of any increase.

I've asked if there is any other way I can get my mail until they get this issue resolved and I am met with rude remarks as if it is MY fautl.

On Friday May 23, 2008 I arrived home from work to find a mailman on his cell phone talking while trying to find our mail boxes for the units were I live. I took him to the front of the house where they where in full view. He opened up the box and when he shut it, he broke the box. My neighbor and I witnessed this happening.
On Saturday we received no mail and then on Tues and Wed. Monday was a holiday. I called at 4:00 Tues the 27th and Michelle said that the mail was still being delivered and then Wednesday I called and found out she was not in and spoke to a man at the front desk. He was very rude so I called the Boston number and complained. They said the box was broken. This box is less then a year old and I know for sure the mailman broke it. My neighbors were either in or called the Post Office to complain.
On Wednesday, we had two deliveries plus someone to check for my neighbors mail. So mail was in the boxes and we all had mail in our doors. The mail had no elastic on it and it fell out when I opened the door. My neighbors mail was found in someone elses because they could not find a door to put it in. If the box is broken or their is a problem I think the mailman should have let us know that they would leave it at the post office. We are all waiting for checks and not sure what happened.
I am very angry about this and thought that their was a law that you did not leave mail thrown in the door. I also know that the street next to mine did not receive mail. What's up with Framingham? My mailman was out because of surgery. He is the best mailman, helpful, friendly and goes by the rules of his job. He definetly goes beyound his duty. His name is Carl.

From my childhood I was taught to respect the US Postal System. Perhaps this was that it was part of the gosvernment when I was a child. I held great respect for the system and would have consistently told others that it was the best system in the world. All of this changed yesterday May 29, 2008. I had rented a PO Box to handle some business that needed to be done apart from my employer. The cost was worth it for I needed the service. When the rental ran out in April I re-newed the service.
Yesterday I went to this box and found the key no longer worked. Speaking with employees was no help. I was told that unless I could show my receipt for payment that no one could establish that my rental staus and I was treated as someone who could not be trusted. I find it hard to believe that a system as large as the US Post Office is not able to verify whethe a PO Box rental is paid for. When I asked for more information I was put off. To the mid-level management person who met me appreciation must be voiced that she did look to see if any mail existed. I lost my temper. I was wrong. But I received lousy service. At the close of our interaction I was promised a phone call by early morning today May 30.
When I called to find out what was done I was treated as a troublesome person. (I must admit that this is my interpretation). Eventually Mr. Dennis J., branch manager entered into the discussion. Mr. J.'s attitude was marked by anger. The night before I had completed a fom to redirect my mail. I had planned to do this later in the month of June, But I had lost confidence in the US Post Office. This is my concern. As an indirect representative of the US Government I expect that your management should be taught how to respond to customers who believe they have been treated improperly.
On May 29th I was never once expressed an apology for my inconvenience or the possibility that someone in that office had made an error. It appeared that the assumption was made that I was misrepresenting my status as a current PO box rental customer. I was told that I would need to wait for teh issue to be resolved. That it could not be resolved that day.
Today after I finished speaking with Mr. J. he eventually acknowledge that there may have been a problem at the branch. From the interaction I was able to discern that the box would be accessible again. (I still need to verify this). But no other action was to be made.
I have known some exceptional individuals who represent the US Post Office through my lifetime. They have been a model of courtesy and quality. However, today I felt it necessary to pass on my complaint that someone may better train your employees.

I had a package sent to me via US Postal Service. When I did not receive the package in the time allowed, I contacted the sender who informed me the package was delivered one week prior to my contacting him. I then called the post office at Linn Creek, Missouri to see why I did not get my package. The post master said it was delivered. I told her I did not get it. She called the mail carrier and asked her what she did with it. The carrier said she hung it on the outside of the box. As a result of this, it was stolen.
The box my item was shipped in was later recovered in the ditch about a half a mile up the road from my mail box. At no time did I ever inform the Post Office to leave anything on the outside of my box. And, they have always previously left any packages too large for the box, on my porch. The post master admited they were in the wrong and said that particular carrier had become disgruntled due to a route cut which decreased her pay.
The item that was stolen was a watch valued between $400 to $800. I paid $200 for the item and I am seeking a $200 reimbursement from the US Postal Service. I feel you need to be able to trust the United States Postal Service to deliver your mail in a safe, competent manor. I have now lost a valuable item that I was able to obtain at a bargin price. Most doubtedly I will not be able to replace it at such a price. This has created doubt in my mind as to the honesty of my postal carrier as I don't know for sure if she took the package or not.

I don't understand why their is such a difference between the postal employees. The envelope says flat rate, and does not say anything about adding tape or changing the shape of the envelope. Their hasn't been any damage, but I am tired for always being told that I shouldn't be getting charged by 99% of the postal system, and then get charged.

None, yet....but it's only a matter of time before an important piece of mail is placed in someone's else box that decides to tear it up or it is placed on top the mailboxes and it gets destroyed.

This has happened countless times and I've finally decided to file a complaint. The USPS fails to deliver Priority Mail packages even within 5-7 days. My latest customer just informed me that a package I shipped on May 19 via Priority Mail has not been received, and it's now May 28. That's 10 days since it was shipped. Tracking revealed today that the package was processed in Illinois yesterday. This service is totally unacceptable, as I paid $11.11 to have it delivered within 2-3 days. I'd be happy with even 1 week. But now it looks like it will be 2 weeks if I'm lucky.
The USPS cannot get away with such poor business practices. They should be held accountable, like anyone else that sells a service or product. Please file a complaint with the proper office to see that my complaint has been recorded. Thanks. I have an online business and when orders are not delivered as I promise them, since I use Priority Mail, then it makes my business look bad and could potentially make customers not buy from me again. I rush to ship orders within 24 hours, only to have them sit in some USPS facility for weeks.

I'm writing this letter with regards to a local post office in Troy, Al. I am very displeased and quite angry with services from the Postmaster himself. Around May 15th, 2008 I went into the local Post office in Troy, Al. The reason for my visit was due to not receiving any mail for the past three weeks. I spoke with the customer service representative, which she directed me to someone else. This young man was very polite. He explained to me that someone had came into the post office and requested on a form, that the mail for this address be held at the post office. I explained the situation to him, letting him know this was not done by myself, sister or uncle, mail recipients of this address. I did question whether or not I.D. was required to stop mail. No direct response was given. He assured me that this would not happen again and gave me a stack of mail. The next day I received mail. I have not received any since then, two weeks later. I was giving the post office time to reroute my mail back to my address.
On May 27, 2008 around 10:30am I went back to the post office again. I explained to customer service representative my situation. She went to the back and came back with one piece of mail. She said she did not see a hold card for my address, but really did not understand what was going on with my mail. She then called a gentleman from the back. I again explained my situation to him. He asked did I have an idea of who stopped my mail. I gave him a name. He said she could have only done that if she lived there prior. I explained it had been close to over three years. He said that I needed to call the sheriff if it happens again. He took my name and phone number. He explained that he would not know exactly where my mail was until the mail carrier returns with the mail.
He took my phone number and said he would call me. I had not heard anything from him around 4pm, so I called back. The person that I spoke with then, referred to himself as the postmaster. I begin to explained who I was and was interrupted by him saying he was familiar with exactly who I am. Mr. Postmaster's tone from then on was loud, rude and very offending. He went on to say he had spoken with his mail carrier and new the reason for me not getting any mail. He said the mail carrier told him that I had not checked my mail in almost a month and a half, that's why they were no longer putting mail in my box.
I tried on several attempts to tell him that I check my mailbox everyday and that mail has not piled up in my box. He said that he knows I'm not calling his mail carrier and government employee a liar. He said his employee does not lie and he does not want to hear that. I tried to explain that I had been into the post office two weeks prior and found out someone had put the mail on hold. He said that that employee told me a lie and that his statement was not true. I was trying to explain that the mailbox next to mine is always full and open, not mine. He said he know its mine, he's familiar with it. He told me my mail had been sent back to the issuers and there's nothing I can do about it now.
His next very offense statement was "All it is, is that you're looking for something that should be coming in the next couple of days that's very important to you and now you want to be concerned with the mail." I said, excuse me. He repeated himself. I immediately asked to speak with someone else. He aid he was the Postmaster, the highest in the office and there was no one higher than him, for me to speak with. I said, maybe not there, but there is someone in another office with more authority. He said no there is not and that I would be getting my mail soon and maybe I'll check the box now and hung up.
My concern is what did he mean by "All it is, is that you're looking for something that should be coming in the next couple of days that's very important to you and know you want to be concerned with the mail." This statement meant it's almost the first of the month and I'm looking for my welfare check. I'm a nurse @ the main hospital in Montgomery, Al. I've been a nurse for 10 years. I'm a taxpayer and not a welfare recipient. Secondly, he made the comment that his government employee was not a liar. Well I've been a government employee for 12 years (USAR) and served in Iraqi Freedom 2003-2004. Because of that I'm a veteran, looking for mail from the VA concerning medical treatment. My integrity should be just as good as anyone's. Thirdly why would he lie and say that there is no one higher than him and not give me contact information for consumer Affairs. Instead I had to make two long distance calls, to two other post offices until I received the information.
Lastly his tone and rudeness was very inappropriate and unprofessional. I would never treat my patients like that or any human being I've already spoke with two representaives from the Post Office administration. I am not at all pleased with the outcome, even though they were extremely nice. It appears that Mr. G. will get away with the statement he made to me and his offending tone. I will not ignore the situation. Expect to her from an attorney.

We had to change our address in the spring of 2007 for 911 purposes (stayed at the same location). In November of 2007 I wondered why I wasn't getting my credit card or mortgage statements. It turns out that the USPS changed me and my fiance's address to one in West Virginia (we have lived in NH forever, never WV). It took forever to find someone helpful for us. Finally we got in touch with Lorri, who works at the USPS customer service(?) division in Manchester, NH.
After lots of fretting over possible mail fraud, we figured out that there was some kind of glitch in the postal service's mail forwarding system. They had randomly change our address to the WV one and all of our most personal mail was going to a stranger's mail box. She blamed this on the Fast Forward system, a new computer address change system that I believe is independent of the postal service, though it seems they rely solely on Fast Forward now. It is now May.
Every single month since November we have had to call Lorri to have our address changed back. She keeps saying things like, "Oops, I missed taking it out of one more part of the system, it should be OK now....". Meanwhile, our credit card information, mortgage statements, credit card offers, and who knows what else is going to someone in Harrisville, West Virginia.
In this day and age of identity theft and various kinds of fraud, it's really disturbing that the post office continually sends our most personal mail to a complete stranger. I don't know what else to do. Has anyone else had this problem? Who can I contact for help? This is getting ridiculous, expensive, and dangerous and the USPS seems fairly unconcerned. Any advice or help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Lots of time spent every month on the phone to the postal service, creditors, and credit reporting agencies. Late fees from credit card companies. Monthly fee for enrolling in an identity theft protection plan to try to protect myself in lieu of this.

I have exhausted every attempt to get this matter resolved. On May 16th, 2008. I went to the counter of my local post office and purchased a money order from the post office with the reference number. I advised the clerk that I needed to make sure that I could track this mail and get a confirmation when it is delivered. She advised me that the certified mail service would take of my concerns. This letter and money order was going from Jacksonville to Jacksonville. As of today, the recipient has not received it. I have made several calls to my local postal service. I have made a complaint with the postal inspection. I have made a complaint to the Northeast Florida Consumer Affairs and to Lisa Saunders that handles complaints for the e Postmaster General office. All of these entities told me that someone would contact me.
On top of that, I was advised that I could put a stop payment on the money order for a fee of $5.20 and wait for 60-90 days to get my money back. All of this is unacceptable, because it was the post office that either lost of stole my mail, which included my money order. I have found out that the post office I utilize already had complaint of thief from others. I want my money back ASAP. This is outrageous.
Today, I spoke with Rosa at my local post office, which was rude and less than helpful and had the nerves to tell me that she was familiar with the situation and asked me why was I calling. I am calling because, I have made complaints with several entities about this situation and was promised a callback within one day and it has been two. I am calling about the lack of cooperation and consideration that I have received. I am calling because, I paid for a service that sets my mail apart from the regular mail and I did not get what I paid for. Apparently, other people have similar situation, which is how I found your email and fax number.
In the middle of drafting this email, I just got a phone call from Misty from the consumer affairs office. She advised me that the mail has not been located. She also advised me that the post office does not have a way to put a stop payment on the money order that I purchased from them and that I indeed would have to wait that long to receive my money, which is just ridiculous. This is what I am going to do. I am going to fill out the forms for my money order.
I have been trying to figure out a way to not use the post office ever again. I have spoken with UPS and was advised that to mail a letter, I could use the UPS ground service, which would cost about $7.00 for a letter. I will attach a copy of my complaint in every piece of mail that I send to charities, sports entities and any other contact. Surely, no charitable organization needs to purchase a money order from the post office. I am going to make sure that every website that I build has something about my experience with the U.S. Postal Service and the chain emails has proven to be priceless.
My bill has not been paid.

I ship about 500 orders per month for my business. In the last 2 years over 100 have been lost in the mail. Most of the lost shipments were in a 6x9 Tyvek Plastic envelope. The contents were pills classified as dietary supplements by the FDA, not drugs. My opinion is that somewhere in the postal distribution some workers are shaking the envelope, hearing the pills and pilfering the envelopes. Perhaps they think it is an expensive drug product. The total loss to me has been in the thousands of dollars, but it does not make sense to insure the shipments as the $1.50 insurance cost if applied to every shipment would far exceed the replacement value of the 1%+/- loss rate. ($18,000 for insurance versus the $3,500 losses).
An interesting fact is that the losses are highest in mail sent to Texas and account for over 25% of the recent problems. These are all to different towns and cities, so the pilfering is not being done at a local carrier level It is not due to the labels, as they are laser printed in highly legible type from the customers' own address input. Also they all have a return address. None of the recent lost mail ever comes back to me. The situation seems to have deteriorated over the past 3-4 years, but maybe that is because I am doing more and more mailings.
I have records of all of the lost shipments for the last 4 years (Products sent & Names & Addresses of whom they were sent to.), and suspect that they would total about $5,000. I have resent all of the non-delivered orders to my customers. This has cost me at least another $2,000, as well being an inconvenience to my customers. I also tend to be blamed for it, instead of the postal service when my customers do not receive their paid for shipment! I can not accurately gauge the cost of that negative to my business.

She however continuted to inform me that she had placed a renewal notice and a reminder notice in the box. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. In fact, this very matter, an insistence of a renewal notice within the box, was given me a year ago. (1) while reminder notices may be the policy of USPO it is not happening at Walbrook 21216 and not in my box (2) I waited for over 20 minutes for a Mr. Troy Griffin-acting manager to come to discuss this matter and to find out the renewal fee. He newer appeared...20 minutes seems reasonable on a Friday morning 8:10-8:35. The counter clerk didn't know the rate (3) I could not discover the cost of renewal of box.
1) Outwright frabrication of the placing of renewal notices in the box -I am sure this notice is not required BUT please don't claim notices are issued when they are not 2)Failure to be able to speak with management 3) failure to assertain renewal cost in order to pay it 4) Out right I could care less attitude of branch staff. I had asked the Postmaster of the Brockton Post Office to consider putting a mail box at my office location of 500 Belmont Street, Brockton. There are no mail boxes on the left hand side of Belmont Street from downtown Main Street, heading West on Belmont Street (Rte 123), for atleast a 5 mile stretch. On the other hand, there are 3 mail boxes within 50-60 feet of eachother on the right hand side of the street, across from 500 Belmont. There are 10 offices at 500 Belmont, and it would be alot safer for all consumers to have a mail box on our side of the street. There is also a bus stop, which would make dropping mail off safer, than having to cross a very busy street.
I put in a call to the postmaster (Michael), and left him a detailed message, asking him to call me. He never responded. I called a month later, spoke with a Debbie and relayed my request. She said she would give him the message. He still did not respond to me, but did respond to our mailman Scott. Scott came into my office, asked me if I had requested a mail box on the left side of the street. I said I did, and he said that the postmaster told him Never happen. I would like to know what the problem is with having one mail box on the opposite side of a street that has 3 in a row on the other side.

Mail carrier stops mail for no notable reason. When the postmaster is called he doesn't respond and has staff say he's not in. Sent postal law official to my home on false complaints. Carrier is a serious crazy person and is unstable and violent.
My mail is not being delivered and no legal or viable reason is being given. The only answer I get is TOO BAD. I've been flipped off and insulted by the carrier a few times and nothing is done about it. He's scary.

The last several months I have had more complaints from buyers, saying they have damaged goods, the item is not getting there for weeks. I'm so disappointed and will be switching to UPS as my choice of shipment. I'm not for sure what's going on with USPS, BUT I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM ANYMORE.

On March 17, I printed out usps shipping labels at home for 7 packages to be mailed. I left the packages on the counter inside the local PO. During the next few weeks I was contacted by 5 of the people who were to receive a package. They had not been received. And when checking on the PO website to track them, they hadn't even been scanned in! I had to refund payment and shipping to these 5 customers in the total amount of $122.89. When I spoke with the local PO Postmaster, he was intrigued, but did not find the packages, or offer a simple apology. I think the PO should refund my money.
I support myself by making on line sales. Refunding the item amounts and postage hurt me badly. I lost $122.89.

Traditional Clothes. 2). 2 Family reunion video cd's. 3). Musical audio cd's. 4). Few personal gift items. Worth of the above items: $300
Its been 25 days so far, and never received the destination. USPS is unsure of the parcel's where-abouts? Still USPS requires more time to delivery the parcel? USPS should take the responsibility for loosing the parcel. NOTE:- This is the second time that I am experienced in the last 10 months. During June/2007 the parcel which I sent to a friend in Philadelphia received the mail with contents missing. I requested USPS to open an incident, but was later denied to proceed any investigation due to lack of USPS's Additional Services rendered.
Firstly I request USPS to track and deliver the parcel either to Sender or Receiver. If not, USPS should take the responsibility and pay the worth of items which is supposed to be delivered.

i did not receive my passport like the delivery confirmation said i did. also i have been receiving mail belonging to other addresses for years and some for this address though no one by those names have everlived here. i have complained about this often and most recentloy i turned in this mail to the post office 2 times and told them not to deliver me this mail to my address. i gave the names of mark and elizabeth and for a limited time the name of vince to continue to deliver mail to my box. i stated i will notify them in the future when no longer to deliver the name vince to my mail address. a tall lady with brown short hair wrote this info down and told me she was the supervisor.
the next time i wrnt in a couple of weeks later and complained to a lady supervisor that the mail of other people was still coming to my address. a lady with shoulder length blond hair said she was the supervisor. she told me that these other people must have lived at my address prior to me. i told here we have been living at the address for 19 years and it was a bob and mary who lived there prior to us. she then told me well, you need to be careful, it looks like cases of identity theft. i found this statement to be out of line the way she said it..
i told her i have been here just a couple of weeks before complaining that her mail carrier is giving me other people's mail and i have been receiving the wrong mail for years despite my complaints and that other people are receiving my mail. she said again just to be careful because it looks like a case of identity theft.
a few days later after this i called the post office and told a worker i needed to talk to a supervisor because my passpoet delivery confirmation number shows that i received my passport when i did not. the lady who told me she was the supervisor took my confirmation number and said she would call me back. and she did after a minute or so . she told me i need to call the passport people because the number i gave her shows that my passport originated in hot springs arkansas and they don't have an office there. i told here what difference does it make where my passport is coming from. the fact is that it was confirmed that i received it when i did not. i told her the mail carrier probably gave it to someone else. she replied now i don't believe that because carol [i think that's who she said or a name similar to it] is a great worker and she would never do that. i then reminded her that i continue to receive others mail. then she told me again that i need to call the passport people and get the information on the correct confirmation number.
i do not think she was helpful and that she simply wanted to argue with me. i just told her i believe it was delivered to the wrong address and that it was in a priority envelope and that i would remember receiving that. she told me i believe you did receive it. i told her again that i did not and then i hung up. i made a complaint with usps using the 1 800 # on my passport info form and did not receive a call the following day as i was told i would.
i am out 101.50 that the passport cost me.

I sent 30-50 pacakges in every week by USPS. I always carry a baby so the only way i can ship those packages is go to behind of post office and drop the packages which i already paid online and label myself. IN 5/10/2008, last day before USPS increased shipping cost, I needed to ship 10 packages before they close. i ringed a bell and wait for a worker open the shutters. no one is coming. i try again.(usually within 1 minutes) no one is coming about 10 minutes, I thought no one notice my bell. i start to keep push the ring. Finally, lady open the door, but yelling at me and point at me, and explain to me how annoying am i. and deny to open the shutters and deny to receive my package. i tried ring a bell again, then yelling at me again and close the door. i request her name to her, but denied. I just need to let them open the shutters.
I thought no one notice my bell. but they notice my bell, and they dont give me 5 second to push the button to open the shutter and keep working. I was so upset and come to front and call supervisor. supervisor said to me ring at once. what he did is blame my attitude. protect and support this worker. If no one is coming at 10 minutes then told me ring at once? I might have to wait for until they close. I was waiting for outside of back of USPS alone.
I paid online and label myself, I just need open the shutter and I bring the package myself inside the USPS. but they even deny to give me service for open the shutter, push the button for opening automatic shutter I talked with the supervisor for 15 minutes and he apologised to me. but i could not get any apology from this worker and supervisor even not try to find her. (some of worker knows who was it) I paid 50000 $ for shipping each year. but If I decide to go different branch to drop the pacakge, they must be so happy. they don't have to carry heavy boxes. I know this is the only way I can ship, so they don't care. They should train or restruct people before increase the shipping cost.
I'm Japanese American, I feel race descrimination. Asian looks young so her attitude to me is like that. I'm so glad I didn't carry baby in that time. But 99% of visit of usps with baby. The only way I can ship the pacakge is go behind of usps and drop the package. (impossible to bring boxes with carrying baby) How I frustrated by deny to receive my package by this USPS worker, and yelling at me and point at me call me annoying I was wondering people who has such a temper is working inside the USPS customer cannnot see then possible to break the package when she has stress who knows. scarey. I am having to go to court concerning a letter that was never received. According to the tracking number, the USPS states it was delivered exactly one month after sending it certified delivery but I never once received the mail. It was sent to a street address in which I do not receive mail at, I use a PO Box for this reason.
Although it states delivered it was not delivered to me. I am now having to pay court costs and fees because the person sending the letter kept their certified receipt with the number only. This could have been avoided if I actually received this letter. The time it said it was received and delivered was during the day while I was working. I have no box to leave it in and no one at home during the day to sign or receive it unless they gave it to a neighbor and then that is breaking privacy laws!! I have never had to go to court before and now I am obligated to pay a hefty court cost because the USPS decided to mark it delivered but failed to follow through!
Large amount of fine that could have put food on my table, gas in my tank and care for my family. Also, the slander it has done to my good name and title which can possibly result in loss of job! I am paying over $500.00 that I do not have to spend on this stuff. It was not delivered.

I live in Las Cruces N.M. and it seems we never get our mail in a timely fashion. It takes anywhere from 10 to 30 days to receive a first class letter from somewhere within the US! This is NO exaggeration! This is absurd. I want to know why it is taking so long for us to receive our mail? We here in Las Cruces pay the same prices as everyone else and do not get our mail.
On one occasion I ordered products from a company and never received them. I called the postal service and they told me they had record of me signing for the package! I had NEVER signed anything and knew i hadn't. So i told the supervisor that I had spoke with that I would be down to verify the signature. Well come to find out it was my rural carrier that had signed and FORGED my name. I am OUTRAGED at such an occurrence! I was told that the carrier would be talked to! To the best of my knowledge nothing was ever done!
Can an investigation of the Las Cruces and EL PASO distribution centers be conducted? Where is our mail being held this should be against the law. Lets get this fixed. El Paso has got to be the worst facility in the country. I have been told that this facility made national headlines for being the worst processing plant in the country, any truth to this. Please get back to me with this.
Monetary loss from products ordered, postage fees, gas, time loss, late bills, gap of car insurance for which x'tra fees were charged. Too many others to list.

Because the price of stamps is going up, I went to the post office to purchase FOREVER stamps, which lock in at a price of 41 cents, despite the increase, on Monday, to 42 cents for postage. I also brought with me, unused stamps, in their original packages, for 39 cents, 37 cents, and 1 cent, and asked to exchange them towards the purchase of FOREVER stamps. Then, I was treated rudely, and still not told an answer that makes sense.
Initially, I was told by Mary Ann, and then, her boss, Alan, WE DON'T DO THAT. When I asked why, I was told, BECAUSE WE DON'T That is an unacceptable response for any business that has customers. I said to them, I am not asking for a refund, the stamps are unused, and in their original packages, unharmed in any way, and in the entire United States, you are the only company that sells stamps, there is no doubt that your company sold these to me. The response floored me. I was told WE CANNOT TAKE THESE BACK, BECAUSE THEY HAVE VALUE. I said, Thank you. That's exactly why I want to exchange them.
If these stamps had an expiration date, and had expired, I would understand, but, they do have a value, and I want to exchange them towards the 41 cent FOREVER stamps. Then, again, I was told no because they don't do exchanges. If you purchase any item from any business, and ask for an even exchange of value, if the item is unused, and still in its origianl package, whether it's at Wal-mArt, Target, wherever, the company allows an even exchange of merchandise with the same dollar value. The postal service is not allowing an even exchange of an item that has been used or harmed in any way, and their arrogance, and horrific customer service are insulting to their clientele. Can you help ? What can I do about this ?
Because the postal service would not exchange these 39, 37, and 1 cent stamps towards 41 cent FOREVER stamps, my only choice is to use these when postage increases (the real reason the USPS doesn't want an exchange), and then the USPS can charge 42 cents instead of 41 cents, and earn more revenue.
The USPS, economically is forcing all customers to spend more on postage, with stamps not worht 42 cents, by not allowing an even exchange towards FOREVER stamps. I tried calling the postal service after I left, and their customer service people are as rude as the ones in the post office. When are businesses going to learn that they are only in business for their clientele, and to treat their clientele with some respect ?

I would like to know who, in his/her wisdom, decided that there would be no more overland (i.e. ship transport) of mail (i.e. packages)to Europe. Also, when was this enacted? Was the public notified or given a chance to object? Did anyone in the government think about the consequences for the paying public who now pays exhorbitant air rates for their packages?
I sent two modest Xmas boxes to my grandchildren who live in Spain not realizing that their is no longer overland mail to Europe. I paid $200. to send those two packages. It will not happen again because I can't afford it. If I can't afford it, what are immigrants, etc., supposed to do when they need to send a package overseas? There seems to be no thought about consequences in our government these days. This applies to everything from postal to airlines regulations. The elimination of the overland/overseas option is ill-considered and in my opinon repressive.

I have gone down to the post office several times and complained to the supervisors and manager. The only answer that I received is We'll take care of it and talk to him. The same problem keeps occuring.
I have talked to 6 of my neighbors directly in my neighborhood and they have similiar complaints with incorrect mail that they receive and have to walk over to another block to deliver it and they tell me that is happens a lot. This mailman constantly get's this address mixed up with the address on Mammoth street. The residents on Mammoth street have walked over to delivered our mail.
This is of particular concern with me because some neighbors (I don't know who) will receive Lillian's check and not have a consciousness about and will hold on to our mail for 10 days before we receive it with a notation of it saying sorry was incorrectly delivered to us. All I want is for this to be corrected. Someone in the US post office has to be serious with this mailman to correct his errors in delivering all residents mail correctly especially when it is that time of month for people's checks to be delivered.
The economic damage that has resulted from the mailman not properly caseing his mail in the morning before going out on his delivery route has caused us to have to borrow money or delay other bills of importance to avoid our morgage payment from being late.

We have recently moved into a new home in a partially built new development. There are approximately 24 homes built and an expected 72 when the development is completed. We turned in an address change through the USPS online and have a verification that it was received and assumed our mail would arrive. We have had erratic mail delivery ever since we moved into the neighborhood. When calling the local post office on numerous occasions I have been told many different things.
First of all we were told that because we were a new development and it is not fully developed at this time the post office is not required to deliver our mail every day. We have also been told that until the development was 50% occupied they were not required to deliver our mail daily. I have called several time and have been told we would have mail delivery on M-W-F but even that has not been a regular occurrence. It never fails the day that I need to mail something from my mailbox is the day they do not show. I have not idea from week to week when the mail will be delivered and when it won't. When it will be picked up and when it won't. We have been told that we can not be assigned to a permanent route because we are a new development.
I pay my taxes and do not understand why there continues to be a problem of receiving mail M-S just like any other neighborhood. I have never heard of any of these excuses and neither have my neighbors. We could get a post office box, but that would cost me something monthly, plus going through the hassle of recontacting all our bill issuers and feel like this is a service I pay my taxes to have and would like some understanding as to why we can't be assigned to a permanent route to get our mail in a timely and consistent manner. Any help or insight you can provide us would be greatly appreciated.
Untimely delivery and never knowing the schedule as to when I can expect mail to arrive and when I can expect it to be picked up. Do not feel I should have to pay for a P.O. box for an additional fee when I pay taxes and things already cost enough as it is with gas that I would consume going to the post office to retrieve my mail.

This is a complaint against the Del Valle Post Office located on Washington Blvd. (address above). My dad had his postal box for about 20 yrs. until he passed on 13 years ago and then I took it over. I must say that since the very beginning of taking on this postal box and having to deal with the USPS workers there, it has not been pleasant to say the least. Many, many times I received mail that did not belong to me and yet it was placed in my box. It always made me wonder where my own mail was ending up. I must admit... I was one to receive several packages almost every other week and at times some of the packages were open and that was the way they'd hand me my package...OPEN!
One time I ordered a very cute umbrella and I received it slashed. When I took it back I was told... that might have happend just to make sure it wasn't something illegal in that long slender package. Another time I was handed over a huge package that did not belong to me which I of course handed back. Now, the main worker I have to complain about is Josephin Fondren who works at this Del Valle station, since I had my PO box there. Atleast every other week I'd run into her at the post office and she would try to sell me something...whether perfumes, jewelery, little trinkets, one time tried selling me a camping grill. This became so constant with her, because at first I'd always buy perfume. She began to take advantage of me. Then she began to notice I was becoming a bit aggitated with her constant sales pitches. She finally told me she would not offer me anything else, unless I asked her that I needed something. She allowed about 2 weeks to go buy and once again began hounding me to buy some perfume, jewelery, etc. I told her Josephin the PO box has gone up in price dramatically and so have the stamps...I can not continue buying stuff from you, sorry. This still did not stop her from always asking, she'd just wait a while.
She is a great person, but should not be doing this at the US Postal Office. She continued to take advantage of me even after I told her I had lost my job. I decided that was it after close to 30 years I was closing this PO box. 4/30/08 was the last date my box would be open. I asked Josephin what would happen to some of the mail that would still arrive there for me and she said it would be trashed. I said...WHAT?! What can I do to avoid that? She told me well that's what happens to mail that still arrives after the person has closed their box. She then said she would hold my mail for me for 1 full month
I've been going to check to see if there is any mail being held for me and twice now I've been told no by Josephin. I always have mail. I receive allot of mail and she knows this, but I believe because I've stopped purchasing personal stuff from her, she's changed her mind about holding my mail for a full month. Another thing...I just read on the official USPS website that I am to file a change of mailing address at my post office when I close a box. I was never told this by any of the postal workers at the Del Valle station.

This complaint concerns the passport application assistance provided by the U.S. Postal Service. On April 24, 2008, I downloaded a passport application form, for both a book and a passport card, from the U.S. Passport Service website hosted by the U.S. Department of State. I filled out the form in its entirety and printed it, prepared to buy the $95 money order to pay the fee and mail all my documents to the passport service. While at the post office I decided to submit the documents through the USPS Passport service as it seemed to accomplish the same purpose and the postal clerk assured me it would be a quick process. However, after stamping and going over all my forms she told me she couldn't finish the transaction unless I filled out a different form. I told her it would be fine to just mail the forms myself instead of going through her, but she said that it would not be that much more time and since I had already invested the time to get the money order (which she hadn't yet begun to process), I may as well continue processing the passport application with the USPS. I then filled out the form she gave me, which was virtually identical to the form I had already brought in myself except for the form number at the top of the page. Having taken the time to reduplicate my work, I took the form back to her and was prepared to pay $95, the amount posted on the website as the processing fee.
However, she could not find anywhere in her instructions that indicated the processing fee for both a book and a card. I pointed out from my printed information what the fee was. She did not take this information but asked her supervisor to check for her. They came back and told me that the fee was $120. They concluded this by adding the separate fees for the book and the card. I indicated to them that the combined fee was actually a special fee of $95, and I even pointed to the place on her instruction sheet that said this. She was adamant that the fee was actually $120. She also said that this might include the fee for processing it at the USPS. If I had known this, I would have just done the whole thing myself. As it was, I was late for another appointment and just had her charge me for the whole thing. She ended up charging me for a $120 money order, and then charging me again for the $25 fee. She insisted that I had read the instructions wrong about the fee, so I took her at her word since she was supposed to be the expert on processing these applications.
As it turned out, I received a call from the Charleston Passport Center. Apparently, the fee is actually $95, and I was overcharged. The passport center has since returned my money order and charged the correct fee to my credit card (another thing the post office wouldn't do - take my credit card as payment.) Also, the passport center knows that this is a common problem across the United States. USPS employees simply are not trained well in the processing of passports, and this one man at the Charleston Passport Center processes many overcharges and badly completed applications every day because of the ineptitude of the USPS. (If you ever come across a gentleman named Art from the Charleston Passport Center, please commend him for his diligence and his efficiency in rectifying cases like mine - it sounds like the bulk of his job!)
I do not need any kind of reparation, I just want a place to suggest that the USPS provide adequate training and information to their personnel tasked with the very important job of processing a passport application. It really is not difficult to figure out the processing fees and required documents. Also, if they could verify that the forms provided on the U.S. Department of State's Passport Application site are indeed as acceptable as the paper forms filled out at the post office, I think it would save a lot of time. I filled out the same form twice; and actually, the form I filled out on my computer was more legible than the exact copy I made with pen and ink at the post office.

Regardless, the postman delivered it to the wrong address, and the person at this address opened the mail and took the hard drive, put a note inside the package saying wrong address, and left the power supply cord and usb cable for the drive. Now the possibility of someone having all of my family's business accounting information for the past three years are readily available, including bank account numbers and routing numbers, maybe even passwords.

I would like to file a complaint with the Cranford, New Jersey Post Office and the Sorting Warehouse. My fiancee went to the post office in Cranford to have the wedding invitation weighted so we can put the proper postage. She was told that it would be $0.58. she bought about 160 stamps with the same teller.
After putting 140 invitations in the mail in the Cranford PostOffice, we have been receiving a few of the invitations back requesting for additional fee of $0.39. Not only we are receiving them back but they are tampered (it is noticeable that they were opened and taped, and ripped.) We were confused, specially after some people are receiving them, other recipients were told to pay $0.39, and too some were receiving the invitations tampered.
These are wedding invitations that are costly and we did everything to make it right and checking with the USPS to make sure they were being delivered in a professional and timely manner. After checking with the Newark USPS Office, I was advised that the extra money requested wasnt correct and we were being overcharged and that the correct fee should been $0.75, of which the invitations would've been handled not through the sorter, due to the type of envelope.
Not only has this been a concern to us for the trust of the Postal Service but a stressful one that is costly and stressful. But our major concern is the destructful and tampered manner that these handled. This is a matter of public trust on our mailing services, that we no longer are trusting on this service, and it is a matter of cost, of which is money that we are losing by need of having to replace these invitations, and not knowing who received them and not received.

My employer sent me a check on 4/21/08 that I still haven't received (today is 5/3/08).
I have made numerous complaints to the carrier, called the branch office and spoken to the manager twice, called the main city branch and spoken with a manager, and finally called someone at corporate headquarters, who advised me to contact Consumer Affairs if the problem was not solved.
I also often receive mail intended for my neighbors (and I'm sure they do for us). I'm so worried about the mail I might not be receiving! We have started to have mail forwarded to my parent's address to ensure that we receive it. I'm kind of at my wits end and don't know what to do. Luckily we're moving soon, but now I worry the mail won't be forwarded after that.
Bills have been late because statements were not received, checks have had to be canceled and reissued, cards from family members were never received and I have had to spend a great deal of my personal time following up on issues that arose because of not receiving important mail

Local carrier has refused to deliver mail when the front door is open. There is a security door and it is always locked. I have two dogs and they are behind the security door. The carrier came to the door and the dogs barked at him??? What are dogs supposed to do??? Theu could not get to him if they tried.
Wife called the local postoffice and talked to Hope. She stated that there was no reason for the carrier not to deliver the mail when the door was open. They said they would talk to him. It has done no good. He even put a note for the relief carrier not to deliver if the door was open.
We have lived in this location for 34 years and have had dogs most of the time and this is the first carrier that we have had trouble with. My wife and I are both in our 70's my wife has had one heart attack, and congestive heart failure and both knees replaced. I also have had 5 way heart by-pass surgery. The mail box is close to the door and has been for 34 years. Would appreciate any help on this situation

Beginning at the end of February 2008, our mail suddenly stopped being delivered. After two weeks or more with no mail we approached the post man and he told us the names on the mailbox must match the names on the incoming mail, and it didn't. So, we got an address label and put it on our mailbox, we live in a single family home and later discovered the label on the mailbox doesn't have to have a name only the address and the postman should never have stopped delivering our mail.
Our mail service started again for approximately a week when suddenly it stopped again. This time we contacted his supervisor and he told us the mailman's claim was that there was dog **** on our walkway we told the supervisor that this was ridiculous and he could come to our house right then and there and see for himself, he said he would, we waited, but he never came. For the entire four weeks we weren't receiving mail, he was returning it to the sender. He never sent us a notice about our address he just stopped delivering our mail and sent it back.
After we complained to the mailman's supervisor we started receiving some of our mail. However, the mail we weren't receiving was very important checks, so we called his supervisor once again, and he did nothing but defend the mailman and say we must be doing something wrong. We were pleading with him to tell us what we were supposed to do, we even asked if we could pick up our mail and he said that would cost $300 a year. We were expecting several checks to be arriving and after two weeks from the mailing date one of them finally came, the other one never did.
We called the institution that issued the check they assured us it was sent on April 21, 2008...we waited until May 1 and still no check. On May 3, 2008 we received an envelope and inside was another envelope...the check. It had a yellow sticker saying it was returned to sender. Why was the check returned to sender by the post man? The name on the check matched our mailbox, we were receiving all other mail, but for some reason the post man didn't deliver the check.
Time and time again he doesn't deliver our mail, we know and expect when things will be arriving and they either never come or are very late. We have both called and reported his behavior to supervisors at the post office with no resolution. They act as if we are exaggerating or as if we are lying. They haven't done anything to ensure our mail delivery. Our mail comes when the postman feels like delivering it, if not then it doesn't. He held on to a check for two weeks before delivering it and he sent many other back to the sender for no reason. All we want is steady and reliable mail service, we are willing to do nearly anything to make it happen, yet there is nothing we can do to force him to deliver the mail. The post office, the post man, and the entire organization has shown no concern for our situation, in fact they have only created a bigger problem lasting three months.
The consequences of not having mail delivered for three and a half weeks were that all of our bills, our insurance statements, medical insurance cards, checks, and so much more were being sent back to the senders. We didn't receive anything and this caused us to fall behind on car insurance, utility bills, and so much more, we had to call every single company that we receive mail from, explain what happened, and ask them to resend everything, we even had to go to our insurance office and provide proof that we were living at this address before they would send anything here (4 hours of waiting in line missing classes).
Our lives have been turned completely upside down. We have contacted the post office and spoke with several supervisors who refuse to accept the fact the post man simply doesn't deliver our mail. For no apparent reason. This last instance is the final straw, we were expecting this check promptly and when we found out he returned it to the sender with no cause and no reason we realized this is a personal issue he has with us. He delivered all of our other mail, but not the check. We have had to report three checks in the past month as either lost or stolen which requires great effort...including a notary, filling out forms, and waiting weeks. Our car insurance was cancelled as we never received the premium and they never received the payment, our utilities were nearly shut off as we never received the bill, we had numerous late fees and disconnect/shutoff notices all because we weren't getting our checks and we weren't getting our bills. Day after day we do not know if our mail will come, or if all of it will be there. We have a rebate check coming soon and do not know if it will show up on time or if the postman will deliver it at all. We are frustrated and feel like all of this is out of our control. We wish that we could receive our mail each day when it is meant to be delivered and we feel like this mail man will not do that not matter what he says.

We wish only that the huntington post office be informed that there employees handling passports appear disgruntled and bitter. I assume it must involve the way they are being treated being we did nothing to provoke such treatment

We moved into our office location at Eldorado Business Campus in Meridian, Idaho in August 2007. We have been having terrible mail delivery. I have called numerous times, as have other businesses here. We get other businesses mail, our mail gets delivered to other businesses, our mail (checks) has been returned to our clients says Address Unknown even though it is the correct address, .
I have had medical insurance cancelled, had to pay lete fees, etc. I have paid bills later due to problems with the delivery of our mail. I haven't seemed to make any headway with my phone calls to Sue at this post office. Sue tells me to just keep calling, but frankly I have more to do than continue calling with problems. Why can't they correct the problem. It has been 9 months. Rachelle is our carrier's name.
Because I didn't get me medical insurance statement, my insurance was cancelled and that cost me $1,300 in Dr. bills. I would have had a late fee on my visa bill, because I didn't receive my statement. I happened to call them on another matter and was able to get my payment in on time. They also lost some gift certificates that were mailed to me and I had do do something else for a gift for my kids.

The other times this happened with other letters--such as bills to the phone company, and the payment for my car tag--resulted in late fees.

My mail has been mis-delivered or not delivered to me at all on many occaisions. I have noted several of the mail carriers here in town driving mail trucks and delivering the mail while talking on a cell phone. They do this frequently. I have had three different mail carriers deliver my mail with a cell phone pressed to their heads, obviously on a personal call, judging from the conversations I have overheard. It is no wonder why my mail is mis-delivered so frequently; these people are paying more attention to their phone conversations than they are to delivering the mail.
When I called the local postmaster to complain about a specific incidents of non-delivery of my mail that resulted in great monetary losses to me, the man I spoke to said he would talk to the carrier. My mail continued to be misdelivered or not delivered at all. When I called back to complain again, I was told the same thing: I'll talk to the carrier. When I said That's what I was told the first time, yet the problem still persists, the postmaster took an angry tone repeating his mantra that he would speak to the carrier, and that's all he could do about it.
Since my second call, I have noticed that my important mail takes an extended amount of time to get to my house. In fact, I am currently awaiting a new credit card that I should have received five days ago. Apparently there is no recourse for this problem. As an American Citizen, I must simply endure the abuses of the United States Post Office. Sometimes a nice neighbor will bring me my mail when they receive it, and I have done the same for others who have not received their mail because it was mis-delivered to me. Sometimes I simply never receive my mail at all. I have since elected to receive electronic statements for my credit accounts that offer this feature, because the United States Post Office is not to be trusted.
The problem of my mail being mis-delivered has caused great financial losses that include late fees and higher interest rates; not to mention damaged credit standings.

We have in our community a person who has been in public office for nearly two years and is being paid a substantial salary (as a tribal councilman)and word has it that his previous position with the U.S. Postal Service is being held for him should he want to return, whether it is by default (not being re-elected) or as a result of his choosing not to be a candidate for re-election this coming fall. Whatever the case, he chose to leave his position as a carrier and that position should not be held for him or anyone in similar circumstances.
He currently is paid a salary approaching $55,000 or more and to have a position within the U.S. Postal service to return to after the above mentioned scenarios occur ... is patently unfair to others who may want to apply for this post, not to mention he actively chose to become a candidate for public office and with that decision forfeited any right to the carrier post.

Incident One: Our business ships about 200 pre-posted packages each month, most USPS Priority Mail. When we arrive, there is no work to do except put the packages in a bin for sorting. One particular airport run as we call it, my wife was covering duty and proceeded with bin of packages to Bert's window. After setting the items on the counter, Bert said definitively, We cannot take these. Bewildered that we had been doing the same for about 7 years at that point, my wife asked why, to which he replied They have the wrong zip code. She coolly began retrieving the items when Marilyn, two stations down said Yes, we can. He slyly smiled and said he would take them, but not before my wife had believed she had just driven the 15 minutes to the post office at 9pm for nothing.
A week later, when I had returned to the task, I asked the store supervisor, Frankie, about the incident. I had already spoken to Marilyn about the issue and she had provided me with a number for Consumer Affairs. Frankie validated Bert's response by stating clearly that they do not get credit for packages shipped from another zip code, ours being 97217 and not the Airport facility. I am deeply offended by this. Our small company spends an average of $1200 per month with USPS and have had months in excess of $2000. To be treated so poorly and say anything but Thank you for your continued business is a far cry from what makes an effective company operate.
Incident #2 (which prompted this reporting): I arrived at the same Airport facility at exactly 10:00pm as the door was being locked. There were 9 people in line waiting for, you guessed it, Bert. I tapped on the glass and asked Can I simply put these on the counter? Bert stated, We're closed. I replied They are already posted, can I drop them? to the same reply. When an exiting customer came out, I stepped in the now open door and asked, Please clarify, I CAN'T drop these even though they are posted already?
He simply continued to say We're closed. At this point, several incredulous customers said, Can we put them in our arms for him and drop them? to which Bert stated, I said we're closed! I just about went postal. At that precise moment, following the back and forth, his own clock read 10:02. My packages were ready to go and he was still waiting on customers. There was no work for him to do, simply accept the packages so that my dates were correct and exact some actual customer service.
I am not concerned about the financial implications related to the 30 minute round trip at nearly $4 per gallon which Bert so casually was unconcerned about. it is the fact that our company spends in excess of $12K each year with a company that could have employees who show such dis-respect to customers. There were three people in line in Incident #2 that agreed that this is a regular occasion at this facility.
And in Incident #1, it was a fellow postal worker, Marilyn, who referred me to the Consumer Affairs and lamented how poor Bert's service is. That is what I find offensive. It is worth certain pursuit and cost to pursue a grievance against this person who disregards our investment in the profit of USPS.

I had two transactions with oversea sellers and had two packages sent to me via registered air mail. I never received them. I tried to track it online, one saids it left HK on 3/28/08 and the other showed there was no record of the item. When I was in college, I never had such problem because the school logs every package, so even once in a while one showed as no record, I would still receive it. I was under that naive assumption and moved to Stamford, CT.
I called their international inquiry center twice and both time they said because there was no record that the items arrived at US and therefore there's nothing they can do. But both packages's sender country has record that the items left the country. Should I believe that the items were disappeared from thin air? Now I am extremely upset with USPS's poor tracking system. I paid extra so that I know when and where my mail is and now all I got are unknowns. I am extremely upset about this.

As of April 24th our mail was being held. The carrier says that the box can't be served from his car. I drive a car lower to the ground then his and can reach the box easily. My neighbor, who's box was also hit, has not had his mail held. In addition to this, the carrier did not call me to set up service when we applied for it. Knowing how the post office in Wasilla works, I knew where the box needed to be placed. We feel the carrier is holding our mail on purpose. We have not had any luck with the supervisors in Wasilla. So I felt I had no choice but write to you. Any help you can be would be great.
I have had to go to the post office on a regular basis to pick up mail. With gas prices moving towards the $4.00 mark, I feel this is garbage. That's why we put up a box. So we wouldn't have to travel over almost 20 miles round trip to get our mail.

I have a complaint about many of the staff at the following location: Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX. We frequent this location often and there have been countless occasions of just general apathy, disrespect and bad attitudes on behalf of the lobby clerks. Although the following three examples are not the only occurrences, this should provide you a general idea of the point I am trying to convey.
Last month, my husband was at this location and asked a lobby clerk if he could get some extra Priority boxes because he had items to ship. The clerk actually told him that the boxes were in the back of the store and she didn't FEEL like going to get them!
Last week, I was in the store using the automated terminal to ship a domestic package and a gentleman was next to me, trying to put his package in the rotund bin for shipping. The bin wouldnt open and a clerk shouted at him from across the lobby that he should know that the bin was full and he needed to put his package on the pile at the end of the counter. The clincher is directly afterwards she mumbled something to the effect of, Some people are just #$%^ idiots!? I was across the room and still heard it.
On 4/25, I was assisted by a lobby clerk named DORI. Before processing my international order, she actually accused me of throwing a pen and my package at her. I was just aghast! She created a huge commotion in the lobby and I just kept repeating, Just please just process my order?. She proceeded to talk at an unacceptable audible level while rolling her neck and pointing her finger at me, and attempted to aggressively debate me rather than just doing her job after I kept saying, Just please process my order repeatedly. Her behavior was just beyond unprofessional and her actions were extremely unacceptable. If this were just an isolated case, Id let it slide. Yesterdays act was clearly the last straw with this place. The customer service at this location, in general, is just absolutely appalling!!!

Someone better put a stop to this or I will have to consult an Attorney.I had to cancel all my orders of merchandise being sent through the U.S.P.S., and now this is costing the company, and me.
Loss of mail! Loss of package's!Why doesnt this stop!Patti, the carrier tried to help me but could find any info on the other carrier. She has no responsibility over what's been happening with my mail or packages.Everytime she takes a day off a sub messes up things.

I received a return phone call from a customer service representative who accused me of damaging my own mail, she also stated mail carriers don't have time to read through your mail and continued to interrogate me about damaging my own mail.
I asked to speak to her supervisor immediately. Im sure she put me on hold with no intentions of forwarding my call since my hold time was over 5 minutes. Luckily I had caller id, so I returned the call and spoke with another helpful representative and left my contact information for a supervisor, who later returned my call and told me there is no policy, procedure, or follow-up for my claim and after he hangs up the case is settled.
To make a long story short I was told he considered the theft of my mail was insignificant and in order to elevate my claim I had to call the Postal Police because customer service does not forward claims that do not meet unspecified criteria. I have tried to get a hold of Postal Police by phone, however, no one has answered my call. Please help, what do I do?
Thus far I have not suffered severe economic loss other than losing out on discount opportunities, the physical damage is that I'm concerned the USPS has zero concern for my damaged, open, and stolen mail and my identity is at risk.

I returned and was able to use my key for a couple of weeks at which time it no longer worked. I returned to the post office and was told that they had accidentially changed the lock and that I would have to request yet another key, so for the the second time I completed the appropriate paper work for a new key and again was told to return in a couple of weeks.
From the time that I had a good key I never received any bills or correspondence from my mortgage company. And from the time that my key no longer worked to present, I have not received any mail, therefore, resulting in my bills being past due and having to pay late fees. I had to call every company to whom I knew I owed money in order to know what was due.
Yesterday, April 24, 2008, I once again returned to the post office to pick up my new key. I was told that it looked like they had changed the lock but there was no key, again I was asked to complete the paper work to request another key (third request). 4/23/08 early afternoon waiting in line at Ravenswood post office facility, witnessed the stocky female African American clerk with name tag Nancy once again being verbally abusive, impatient, irritable and counterproductive to meeting customer needs, this incident involving a long-term postal service clerk who was waiting on a customer with a baby in a stroller. Only two windows were open for service. Nancy was not at an open window and was speaking with what may have been a technician repair person. There were four or so individuals in the snake line which was moving along at a moderate pace. I was third in line. A customer came in and was waiting at the door that handles pick-up packages but it was closed. After a few minutes Nancy yells brusquely across the counter and waves her arm impatiently toward the line, that door is closed so no one is going to get your package, get in line. The person looked chagrined and shrugs ok and moved over to the line that has grown since her arrival. The other clerk is continuing with her customer who has a small child in a stroller and is mailing two padded envelopes with confirmations attached but is unfamiliar with the process. After using an inappropriate tone with the package customer Nancy veers toward the clerk and grabs her notification slip and begins bullying her about how she is handling the transaction.
Nancy in rapid fire nasty tones challenges the other clerk, INTERRUPTING the smooth transaction and STALLING its progress, states why are you handwriting that, you should be scanning this. The other clerk is forced to turn her attention from the customer and explain her reasons, while Nancy is distainful, is not listening and overtalks her explanation by saying you are making these people wait in line cuz you are doing it by hand, it is fast-ter to scan it. You must scan it. The clerk is astonished as are the customer witnesses and attempts to continue her transaction with the customer as she is defending herself to Nancy who continues the abuse until Nancy provokes the peaceable clerk to retort that Nancy is being unprofessional, is not her supervisor or her mother and has no right to talk to her this way and interrupt her in front of the customers or tell her at this moment what she is may be doing wrong, especially since the line's length has to do with another male co-worker being removed cuz he was eating.
Nancy continued her assault, stomping off mumbling she was gonna get a supervisor to tell her to scan and then drags a supervisor from the back and has to explain to him what another supervisor had said to Nancy (so it must not be the established protocol since he was unaware). This is all occurring in front of the customers behind the poor clerk who is attempting to maintain her composure with a customer at the window with Nancy illogically proclaiming the other clerk is delaying the customers. Nancy's behavior was bullying, completely unprofessional, and was symptomatic of a need for retraining in anger management, teamwork and customer service.
The supervisor failed to pull Nancy aside and inform her it was not the time and place (or her place) to discuss protocol, so it appeared management was complicit in the bullying culture environment. Worse, Nancy then opened a window for a brief moment to help another postal worker and was exceedingly friendly and spoke in trillingly tones to him, further evidence of her negativity toward her co-worker. This is not the first experience I have had in witnessing Nancy's belligerent behavior.
None per se but the activity was alarming and prompted another customer in line to call out, no fighting, no fighting

The biggest damage, and the one thing that I can not recover is the saddness and hurt that my grandson felt not receiving his birthday presents. April 22,2008 On April 10, 2008, I sent an overnight express mail from the Page Field Post Office to a doctor in Westmont, Illinois. I was told the package would arrive there the following morning on April 11, 2008.
We just returned to Illinois and went to the doctor's office this morning (April 22, 2008) and she had not received the package which contained my hearing aid. Luckily we had insured it for $2500.00.
So today, I tracked the package and found that it did arrive in Westmont on April 11, 2008. The doctor's office is closed Friday afternoon and Saturday and tracking said they left delivery notice there. However they said at the office they never received any notices. I don't think it would be unreasonable to try to deliver that package again on Monday the 14th.
My husband went to the post office in Westmont this afternoon with the information I had found and said if they couldn't deliver it that we would be filing a claim for the insurance. Someone went out back and immediately found the undelivered express mail package. We paid $23.75 to have that package delivered overnight and WE are going to deliver it to the doctor's office tomorrow. If this package has been sitting in a bin at this post office all this time, how many other undelivered items are there over there.
This is not our first time with problems with mail at this post office. We pay more and more postage and get worse and worse service. I think maybe someone should be monitoring or checking the postal facilities to see that they are truly delivering the mail. I also wish you could bring the postmaster and the entire crew from Ft Myers Florida 33966 and transfer them to Westmont Illinois. They are really well run down there. thank you for hearing my complaint.
the package contained my hearing aid and it would have been ready for me if it had been received by my doctor. I am deaf and now I will be another week or ten days without it.

The post office failed to acknowledge my Hold Mail request and continued to deliver my mail while I was out of town. I placed a Hold Mail request via email with a Begin Date of April 17, 2008 and a Resume Date of April 21, 2008 and under the Resume Delivery Option, I requested that the post office deliver accumulated mail on April 21, 2008.
As noted above, the post office did NOT hold my mail and my mailbox was overflowing with mail, which is a dead give-a-way that the homeowner is most likely out of town. I do not wish to be contacted regarding this matter. Fortunately, there were no other issues; however, I believe this oversight should be brought to the attention of Consumer Affairs and the United States Post Office.
In my opinion, this is a security issue. Fortunately, there was no economic or physical damage.

Palms West Branch. I entered the post office with my mini shitzu, no legible signs present in post office to say pets not allowed. Waited in line, when I arrived at the front of the line Edna/Edina pointed her finger at the door and told me that I would have to leave as no dogs were allowed in the store. I explained that I would pick up the dog and put him in my bag as she is so small. I was told again by Edna that I would have to leave. Fortunately a very pleasant lady waiting in line offered to take my dog outside for me. When Edna attended to me she told me that florida law states that pets are not allowed in public places....which is NOT what florida law states. She also went on to tell me that if it were her dog she would not take it into the post office.
I explained to Edna that I was not interested in her opinion and I would just like to mail my package. She continued harrassing me stating again what she would do if it were her dog. I explained to Edna that I was simply there in the post office to mail a package and was not interested in what she would do with her dog. She then told me that is your problem, you only care about yourself, why don't you just go and kick yourself I repeated what she had just said in disbelief and again she said, 'yeh, thats right, just go and kick yourself why don't you
Having a broken ankle at present, which is casted in a walking boot, I found her comments and demeanour extremely rude and insulting, even the other people in line uttered comments in abject horror at the way I was treated.

I sold an item on E-bay to an international buyer. The postal system was down at the first office I went to. I asked the attendant for assistance with locating a claims form, and the correct mailing envelope, and she wouldn't even take a moment to stop and show me what I needed. She simply pointed over there, and rushed off. I went to another office across town, and stood in line for over 30 minutes with my 4 year old. The attitudes of the clerks were horrible. They offer you no information at all. It was my first time shipping anything international, and I told them this. I mailed the package using the flat rate option, (which I later found out is not guaranteed)I obtained a receipt, and was told my package will arrive in Australia in 6-10 business days. That was on February 16.
It is now April 21, and after many frustrating attempts, I have hit a brick wall. I have been hung up on by postal clerks. I have been given attitude, and told I can't help you in more ways than I knew was possible. I have lost ALL faith in the USPS. I will never mail anything of value through them again. The clerks need to be clearer with options, If the clerk would have explained the difference between Express, and Flat Rate Priority (which is the same as sending it parcel post)in the following manner, I would have elected to spend a few more dollars of my own money: We'll take your package, charge you a smaller flat rate fee, BUT, we may or may not ever deliver it!
I am out of a good deal of money and completely done with the US Postal service. This was a 1 of a kind vintage dress. Someone knew the value of it between here and Australia, and are probably wearing it right now, or have sold it again on E-Bay!! I hope this warning helps someone else!!

Our service has been going downhill for the past few months. Our regualar mail carrier is excellent, but when he is out sick or on vacation we can expect extremely poor service - mail late or not even delivered. Yesterday, 4/14/08, we did not receive our mail. I called and asked for the manager at the Lockhill-Selma Station and spoke to Ida who I expressed my concern that it was already 4:00 p.m and we still had not received our mail. She seemed totally unconcerned and said it should be delivered shortly.
I told her our business depended on getting our mail in a timely manner and that this same thing has happend before (whenever our regular carrier is off). I have called before and was told that they would look into the situation to see that it didn't happen again. But, EVERY time our carrier is off, we have to put up with this. I'm not sure they really care at all if we get our mail late or not at all and I would like to know if we have any recourse. Thank you.
This impairs our ability to do business in a timely fashion.

I recently applied to the Post office and have been treated like a dog ever since the process began. I was told that I was one of three to be hired on the job. Then three months later was told that because someone is taking a supervisors position that I was a surprise position that needed to be filled. He then explained that I need to take a road test.
Now a road test to me means....get in your car with a postal employee trained to make the judgment if I am good or bad. I was never told that there was a written part of the exam. Therefore I never took my reading glasses. When I told this to HR she got really mad and said if you didn't want to take the test then why didn't you just say so?! And I replied that I did want to take the test but forgot my glasses. She was mad but rescheduled me anyway.
My point is, after having two interviews it was made clear to me that I must, when delivering mail, be kind to people and always have a smile, even if the people give you a hard time. Your whole job is based on being nice to people and I have yet to talk to one employee who has been nice to me. Everyone seems so mad and never has time to answer questions. Isn't this part of there job? HR treated me like this!!!!! HR!!!!!, now if HR can treat you like this, how do you expect employees to act? She is in your Albany, NY office and the other people are in your Delmar,NY office. I really hope something will be done about this!!
What resulted was i was not employed. After all the tests and 2 interviews and time wasted waiting for this job i had to move on and take something else. I lost a lot of money waiting for this job. I was on unemployment and it ran out. I was told even if i got the job, it was only for a short time. Even if someone retired, i wouldnt get the job and if i didnt like it then move on because they had other people waiting.

Their solution for my problem was to call the post office and figure out when I might possibly get off work and be home, sometimes hard to do for a medical professional, so the postal worker in town could bring me my mail. I told them this was simply unsatisfactory and that I should have mail delivery like every other homeowner.
I might add that I live less than a mile away from Benld Il so even if this delivery service required closure of the Sawyerville office the residents of Sawyerville would not be inconvenienced and their mail service would actually be much improved. I am now trying to get others in Sawyerville to complain about this so-called service we're paying for.

After not receiving any mail for a week, even though I put in a change of address, I discovered that the post office was holding my mail because our mail boxes were not regulation. The postal inspector, Dan Bernardo, came by and said they needed to be lowered and we had to have a key for our front gate in the key box attached to the front gate. After that they would put locks on the boxes and we could get our mail delivered to our home.
Within two days both of those requests were taken care of and I contacted the the postal inspector, Dan Bernardo again and let him know that his requests were complete. He said that they would be coming by and putting in the locks any day now. That was over 3 weeks ago and we still are not getting our mail. They did put one lock in but not the other two that are needed. They are not delivering our mail. We have to go to the post office and pick it up. I have called many times and spoken with Warren Lo and Kelly Lo and have been promised many times that we would be getting our mail soon and that our boxes would have locks on them but everyday nothing happens.
Warren Lo said the locksmith might be on vacation. Kelly Lo said he has no way of contacting the locksmith other than thru a fax work order. I spoke with a woman named May at the Post Masters office. She would not put me thru to the post master but said that she would call the supervisors at my post office and find out what is going on. I have left many messages with Dan Bernardo but he never calls me back. Warren Lo and Kelly Lo both said they would let me know what is going on but they have not contacted me and we are still not getting our mail in this building.
I and the other tenants in this building are not able to get our mail. We have to go to a post office to collect our mail. I cannot go during the week because I work when they are open so I can only get my mail on Saturdays. It feels like no matter what I do nothing happens and it's been very upsetting to me.

On or between Monday, March 17th and Wednesday, March 19th, 2008, no mail was left at my residence because my storm door was locked. Usually the USPS will redeliver the mail on the next day with a hand written note on one of the pieces of mail indicating that the door was locked. I did not receive any bundled mail for the days that my storm door was locked. I inquired to a carrier who was assisting on the route as to who delivered the mail on these days. He indicated that the young man (the one I previously had a problem with) that delivered the mail had been shot in the foot at a club and that he would be off for a while. The same young man had previous left my mail outside under my mat on a rainy day after he had delivered mail matter and I locked my storm door. Because I was sitting there and heard him pull on the door I got up and witnessed him putting the mail he failed to leave on the first visit under the wet mat. I in turn told him not to leave my mail at all if my door was locked. We had words and I called and spoke with a supervisor at the USPO (Angela) who assured me that they would handle this matter.
I know for certain that at least two individuals sent me mail which would have arrived at my residence sometime around the aforementioned date because these items were specifically Birthday cards. I have yet to receive any of the mail for the dates mentioned and conveniently no one at the USPS has or can locate my missing mail. I have asked them to contact the young man who was suppose to have deliver the mail on the dates in question, to determine IF he could possibly know what he did with the mail for those dates. This is a very serious matter in that I have previously complained on the carrier and in fact informed the supervisor that I was not comfortable with this young man delivering my mail because of his disrespectful attitude towards me and his foul and vulgar language. She assured me that I would not have anymore problems out of him and that the problem would be handled.
Up until this recent event I have had little or no contact with this carrier (casual) since the first encounter. Notwithstanding, I would appreciate it if someone would find this disappearing mail problem just as serious as I do. As a sworn law enforcement Officer for the last Seventeen (17) years I am truly dissatisfied with the treatment and the hot potato pass me around, YOU need to call this person and that person treatment that I had had to endure. Instead of the persons that receive a pay check to protect the United States Mail taking some initiative to interview their employee and informed me or someone or importance of the findings this is what I am instructed directed or forced to have to do in order to attempt to rectify or resolve this matter. I would greatly welcome a speedy and thorough investigation into this matter, and I thank you in advance.

I have tried to resolve these issues with the supervisor(s) of the Devon Station for years, all to no avail. The response is not acceptable; no improvement has ever been noted. SPECIFICS: In the last two weeks we have had: Mail delivered after 6:00PM. Periodicals delivered a week too late. Periodicals not delivered at all. Periodicals ripped to pieces. 1st. Class mail put in outside basket. 1st.class mail delivered to the wrong address.(Mine or Other's). 1st.class mail from 4 apartments put in one mailbox. Mail Carrier leaving cart unattended. Mail Carrier making long cellphone calls Mail carrier delivering wet envelopes.

I had submitted mail forwarding documents for my previous address to fwd mail to my new address. The postman for BOTH addresses is the SAME person and yet he is fails at forwarding my mail properly. He continues to deliver mail to my old address, i receive occasionally 1 out of 10 mails being forwarded. And on top of NOT forwarding my mail, USPS at their sole discretion is disclosing my new address information to mailers at my old address, essentially telling all the spam mailers where to continue to harass me with junk mail!
I've lost 200$ worth of rebate checks that weren't forwarded and NOT with my pile of old mail @ my old address, nor were there any mail being held at the post office. I am also missing my W2 that was never forwarded nor at my previous address, and YES, the employer mailed it out.

This complaint is directed to the USPS in Ringgold, GA. We continually get someone elses mail from another street with a very similar street name and the same street number. These people have OPENED our mail on several occasions. We ahve gone to this home and questioned them about certain situations to which they deny any wrong doing. BUT We have not gotten Christmas gifts, graduation gifts, etc. This past Christmas we received a check as a gift on the 22nd of Dec 07 (postmarked). These folks brought it to our home on Jan 4th, 08 and said they 'opened' it by mistake and forgot to bring it to us and just remembered it . We already knew we had the check coming and couldnt understand what had happened to it because it was from someone LOCAL.
We have complained many, many times. Also, we have put a temp hold on our mail several times just to have it delivered anyway. I have gone in person to have it stopped AND sent in the forms via the internet. As in today, Our mail was to be redelivered on Tuesday, it was delivered on Monday. And then it was delivered on Tuesday also with the hold mail note attached to it. Thankfully we did get home from out of town in time to get our INCOME TAX check and a new CREDIT CARD that came in the mail on MONDAY. The USPS wonders why the public has turned to other delivery methods and services. This is why. If we had not been home, we could have lost so much or it could have cost a lot of money not to mention the heart ache.
Thankfully we did get home from out of town a day early to get our INCOME TAX check that I am positive was delivered on Saturday and a new CREDIT CARD that came in the mail on MONDAY.

My elderly mother went into the Post office on Wednesday March 19th 2008 for an express mail delivery for the following day to me with no signature required.. She is not familiar with the process and when she was asked if she she wanted it delivered WITH a signature she said NO!.. The clerk #15 Michael was too busy socializing with the next clerks customer that he forgot what my mother's answer was to his question.. he asked her a total of 3 times during the transaction...if she wanted a signature or not.. she told him each time NO!.. I was not going to be home but, needed it the following day.. Well, it turns out my Mom needed to sign a waiver to allow the delivery without a signature( the post office clarified with us after the fact when we went in asking for a refund). He was so busy socializing he didn't do his job right and it cost my mom and I the convenience of delivery without a signature the very next day..
When I told my Mom it was not delivered and only a pink slip stating they needed a signature for delivery. My mom was shocked she said..He asked my 3 times.. Maybe he was too busy socializing with the other customer he forgot to do something.. I wrote on the pink note in my mailbox to LEAVE and I signed it... I received another pink slip in my mailbox and no package.. My mom called the post office on Friday the 21st and the Supervisor at the time said he would call my Post Office in San Clemente and let them know of the mix up and have it delivered today on Friday without a signature.. Well, apparently he never followed thru because I still did not have my package and my Mom received no call from the Supervisor that day as he said he would..
I went in on my day off on Saturday to collect my package and the Supervisor there was sure I wouldn't receive a refund because it was delivered as promised.. I said It was not delivered as promised because I still did not have the package and I had to come in an pick it up several days later.. She shrugged her shoulders.. When I called West Covina they had the same attitude. It was their word over my Mom's (who doesn't lie) if the transaction did happen as she said it did, which reflected in a non delivery as promised.... They suggested I call you because the clerk denies the transaction taking place as my Mom describes it. **NOTE**Just a few people I have spoken to about this unjust service from the post office, they in turn would tell me their own horror story of the United States Post Office. This seems to be a problem and one that they know they can get away with so I am asking for a refund for my mother through Consumer Affairs...$16.25 ,, Since when is the customer always wrong .. What happened to the customer always right.. I want this righted...
My mother on a fixed income is out $16.25..She paid for a service she did not receive..Out of her kind heart wanted to get a package to me on time and gave plenty of time to send it because I really only needed for Friday AM.. So we were o.k. with the mix up till nothing ever got done nor rectified..and I didn't get the item when I needed it.. It is the principal.. my delivery never took place,,, and I had to go in and pick it up.. the fact my Mom paid for a service not received as she expected. Under the law I would believe that is deserving of a refund..The West Covina Supervisor who never returned my Moms call nor followed thru on yet another promise added to the unjust act.. they just don't care enough...

I ordered a package of flight training materials on eBay. The materials included books, rulers, protractors, and the like. They were shipped to me in a flight bag that was placed inside a brown corrugated box. I only recieved the top of the box. This means that the other five sides of the box and its contents disappeared before it reached me. The Springfield Bulk Mail Center claims that the box arrived empty.
I went to the central office in Springfield and they told me to call the damaged mail center in Atlanta. There is no such number. I called the main USPS number and they confirmed that I was given the wrong information. The shocking thing is that the box was sent on 2/29 and the remnants did not arrive until 3/23.
I spent several hundred dollars on this training set. Now I will have to buy another one. Thanks again, USPS! Another great monopoly at work.

Since last fall, we have had at least 6 instances of mail sent and confirmed sent to us that we did not receive. This included a check for over $8000, a car title, and a car registration, as well as bills. We have lived in our house for over 8 years and have had only minor isolated instances of not receiving mail or gettting neighbors mail. We have reported the undelivered mail each time and received tracking numbers but the problem continues to occur with increasing frequency. We reported the problem to our local consumer affairs office and the rep there (Janet) has been nasty and uncooperative and has not filed a complaint for us yet.
We have to continue to contact all of the agencies that send us statements and mail and find out what and when our mail was sent to see if it has not been received. This is extremely time-consuming and should nto ave to be performed. We have to have new mail generated, checks cancelled and resent, and all of this costs money. Plus we do not know who is getting our personal information. We aslo have to deal with angry calls form the post office because we are having trouble receiving our mail and they don't want to deal with this.

I recently purchased a house in Carpentersville. We do not have our mail delivered to the house as we caught the previous owners going thru our mail. Our mail is delivered to a PO Box at the Post office. Our community has door to door delivery. Our postmen do not use the sidewalk. They walk over everyones front lawns. The postmen also wear Ipod ear buds playing music so loud that you can hear it from next door. In order to get their attention you have to physically touch them (face it this is NOT a good idea).
I have been requesting for 6 months that they stop walking across my front lawn. I went into the office and spoke to the new Post Master. He informed me that the United States Post Office has AUTHORIZED them to take short cuts across peoples lawns. I am sorry, Isn't the lawn between my front door and the sidewalk PRIVATE property? Who gave them the right to decide this for me? I called the consumer relations and the very nice lady there (she really was) did inform me that this is the agreement the USPS has with the union, though most Postmen do not walk across peoples lawns. She (not the postmaster) informed me that there is a form you must fill out in writting that states you take offense to this. This form makes it official and the mailman MUST stop walking across your lawn. I asked for the form and she told me I had to pick it up at the Post Office.
The post master stated it was taken care of and I did not need to fill out this form. He refused to give it to me. The postman just went by my house and guess what, he walked across my lawn. What can I do? HELP! What if this guy steps in a hole in my front lawn and breaks his foot. Can he sue me? If he cann't and my insurance finds out about the injury they can still increase my insurance. Someone please help.
The destroy my lawn. They look in my front window as if to see if anyone is home. I don't feel safe.

He got nasty, and I advised him that he was parked on church property, and that it was not a public parking lot, and that he was not allowed to park there. He advised that the minister told him he could park there, which is untrue. He was mad when I told he was not allowed to park there, and that he had to wait. He in returned called me an [expletive] in front of the clients receiving food, and the delivery driver. When I advised the mail carrier I was going to report this incident, he advised me that he didn't care because he had 30 years in. If I did, it would hurt us receiving our mail in the proper way.

For 8 years I have dropped off my stamp order for my work. Since I get off work at 4 p.m. I cannot get to the Post Office with the Company check and stamp order. The Post Office closes at 4 p.m. but has an 'after hour' bell to ring between 4:00 and 4:30. I arrived at 4:20 and rang the bell as usual but the new Postmaster would not answer the bell even though I could hear him speaking to someone. I rang several times then went over and opened up by P.O.Box and told him through the opening I had a stamp order - to which he replied 'just leave it'.
When I picked up my stamps on Monday he had substituted some stamps without talking to e (work phone # is on order form). I called him this morning to tell him we had ordered 50 $1.00 stamps and no .5 cents stamps. He said he had given me all his $1.00 stamps so substituted .5 cents. He also gave me 50 .58 cents stamps with hearts on them. I explained this was a business, we don't want stamps like that. To which he replied 'you need to put that on your order form'. I replied had he opened the door on Friday when I rang and knocked several times I would have told him. He stated he closes at 4 p.m. and can't do anything after that. I reminded him about the after hours bell and the sign that says to use bell between 4:00 and 4:30, however I noticed HE has changed it to 4:15 now. This is NOT the way to treat people especially when they are purchasing something from you. For eight years I have rang that bell at 4:20 to 4:25 and had the previous Postmasters open the door and take my check/order. What right does he have to change his own working hours and be so rude about it.
Unless he opens the door for my next stamp order I will go to another Post Office. The Company I work for has supported the Wadsworth Post Office for 8 years with purchasing stamps when there are other Post Offices we could be going to that are opened until 5 p.m. and not 4 p.m.

I was told that they did indeed have a change of address for my family, but the carrier was continuing to deliver the mail to the old address anyway and they weren't sure why. A month later (this past weekend), I again telephoned the post office and asked why I have not been receiving ANY mail. Their explanation? The carrier was still delivering to the old address AGAIN. I was told that they will 'attempt' to retrieve our mail from the old address. I again called to see did they retrieve any of our mail and they told me no. I AM STILL NOT GETTING ANY MAIL. On Wednesday and Friday, there were no mail personnel in sight, but on Saturday, the mailman was viewed one block away: No mail arrived, even though 3 items were due that day. We normally always receive some mail every day, even if it is just junk. It is plausible to not have mail on one day of the week, but not three, and not on two consecutive days when items were guaranteed for that day. It is outrageous to me that USPS considers it acceptable to just not deliver the mail. I know the flu is rampant right now, but if it IS the mail carriers are all down with the flu, then customers should be informed that there will be breaks in their service, and not just left to wonder where their mail is.

My mother, Caroline Johnson, passed away in late November 2007. She resided in Floral City, Florida. I placed a forward for all of her mail with the Floral City Post Office before I left Floral City in November. Because I was receiving some forwards I was not concerned about the forwarding. On February 21, 2007, I received two large envelopes from the Floral City Postmaster. These envelopes contained mail dating back to November 2007. There were three checks, three months of bank statements, ten cards, two water bills and various other first class mail. There was no explanation as to why this mail was not forwarded promptly. On January 25, 2008, I visited my mother's home in Floral City and found that the water had been turned off for lack of payment, as well as the cable service.
I went to the post office to inquire if they still had the forward for my mother's mail and was told that they did. When I questioned them about the fact that the water bills and cable bills were not forwarded, they advised me that if the envelope requested Address Correction, they return the bill to the company and it was up to the company to forward the bills. I also inquired if there was any mail awaiting forwarding so that I could pick it up and was told that there was not. The two delinquent water were included in the package I received on February 21st, as were the delinquent cable bills. Yesterday (March 5th) I received another water bill mailed on December 21st. Most of the mail was wrinkled as if it had been stuffed into something. On February 22nd I wrote to the Floral City Postmaster requesting an explanation and to date have not received the courtesy of a reply. I continue to receive two and three month old bills. Where are they coming from and why weren't they forwarded on a timely basis? This is inexcusable and something needs to be done to insure prompt delivery of forwards, not only for me but for others requesting forwarding.
Because of not receiving the monthly bills for the water and cable, both services were terminated. I had to drive around Citrus County in order to bring these bills current and change the address for future billing. In addition, I did not timely receive the checks nor the bank statements. The cards needed a response and I have had friends inquire as to why I didn't respond to their messages of sympathy.

I was then instructed to inform the facility in writing using the postal service about my loss and to initiate a search to recover my property before I filed an insurance claim. Our business relies on the delivery of mail. Our offices are located in a building that contains many other offices and residences. When we received our mail today, we received two 'sorry we missed you' cards, which state that because we are not here, they will be delivering the packages at a later date. I made a phone call to the station that delivers our mail to complain that we were not contacted regarding these packages. The mail deliverer did not even attempt to contact us to sign for these packages. The supervisor to whom I was speaking defended the mail carrier by saying that she was substituting for someone on this route, and may not have known to call on the intercom to have someone sign for packages. When I tried to explain that this is a large building with many tenants, and that any mail carrier should know to contact tenants in some way, shape or form, she hung up on me. I did not get this individual's name, and when I called back to ask to talk to them again, no one answered the phone. I contacted the USPS to make a complaint, and they referred me to make this complaint with consumer affairs.
As a result of this individual's neglect to assist me over the phone, I have wasted 45 minutes of my work day trying to straighten it out. Not only has the package not been delivered, it has not even reached the McKinney postal branch and it is nowhere to be found via the USPS stellar tracking system. I went to the McKinney, Texas USPS branch on I75 this March 1 Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. to inquire about the status of my package. Although the sign on the door for quick package pickup stated its hours of operation to be Sat. 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., low and behold, there was no one in earshot to help the gathering crowd. At 10:00 a.m., when the main lobby was opened for business, the mob inquired about the lack of service at the quick package pickup window, and were informed that the woman in charge of that window had accidentally turned off the service bell and was therefore unaware that there had been a group of people pounding at her door for over an hour. One postal carrier told me that the McKinney USPS is doing a mail count to determine the rate of pay for it's carriers for the year to come. Oddly enough, the delivery of parcels has suddenly diminished, which reduces the delivery count for the carriers (presumably to reduce wages) and inconveniences the public.
A friend shipped me a $260 hand-made drum that is currently missing in action. Status of the package does not show up in their tracking system even though the package was insured and a tracking number was issued. From my point of view, my goods have been stolen from the USPS.

She said there was nothing she could do, and the box was now someone else's. I asked to see the Postmaster. About 15 minutes later a postal worker came out and asked what the problem was. He was immediately rude and abrupt. As I started to explain the problem, he cut me short and stated that the box was no longer mine. I told him I had business cards with the address, advertisements, clients of an LLC, and insurance documents and needed them to remove the box access from the person they had issued it to.
The employee turned out to be The Customer Relations Supervisor and not The Postmaster. I told him since he was unable to solve the problem I still needed to see The Postmaster (who he had pretended to be). He said for me to Tone Down or to get out. I stated that I wanted to talk to he Postmaster, and I wanted to know his last name for the purpose of filing a complaint. John The Supervisor then said, "I don't give out my last name because it's in the phone book, and I already get threatening phone calls". I then asked him to get The Postmaster, and he walked off. In another 15 minutes a gentleman came out and identified himself as The Postmaster. He listened to my dilemma and asked for my information for the purpose of resolving the problem. I gave him my information and asked him why the Customer Relations Supervisor couldn't have done that. He wasn't sure. I look forward to a resolution to my problem, but I really wonder why anonymous John is under the label of Customer Service.
I have business cards, advertisements, clients, insurance business, and LLC business that has been disrupted due to the postal service's blunder. This has been very disruptive and time consuming. If a notice of fees due had been placed in the box there would be no problem, and two Parties with keys would not be sharing each others' mail.

I placed a change of address on line in November 2007. I was not receiving mail the entire month of December 2007. I put in several complaints to the central office as well as the branch itself. I was given claim numbers for each call and told it would be looked at. I slowly received some mail but not all. I never received Christmas packages. I do not receive all my bills and have been charged late charges to all my utility and credit cards. I am constantly having to call up companies to keep tack of my accounts. Every time I approach my mail carriers, they tell me that they are a "temp". I also receive everyone's mail in the building. I am at 2f and receiving mail for 1F , 1R, etc. I have also reported this to the branch, but it still happens. I am concerned that if I am getting other people's mail then someone could be getting mine.
I have had over $200 in late fees since November 2007. Every month I need to spend time out of my work day having to straighten out my bills with a companies including utilities. All my Christmas packages have disappeared. I spend my time putting the mail for other people in the correct address.

I don't even know where to start...complaints have been made, and still nothing is done. This is a government/federal post office. My understanding is there are set hours of operation and a job description that is to be followed. How many complaints does it take for someone to do something? BOTH individuals are very selective of who gets what, and when they get it. They close the window when THEY feel its necessary. The most recent incident involved Ida Jack, on Saturday at 3:30. I pulled up to check mail, and Ida said it was closed. She had the doors locked and was mopping while Alberta Meyer was in there talking away--turning people away during business hours, refusing to do money orders, or get stamps or boxes for people. They both have people that are not employees back there helping sort mail, and first class mail is never a priority; we get junk mail first--and to have things postmarked a week before it gets to our box when we have planes? I want the names of people who can do something about this!
FIRE THEM! WE NEED PEOPLE IN THERE WE CAN TRUST AND WHO ARE GOING TO DO THEIR JOB RIGHT AND FAIRLY!

The Postal service has deteriorated to the point of uselessness. I conduct quite a lot of business on eBay and the USPS track record is horrendous. Last year I sent, via Priority Mail, a package to a customer in California. They never got it, and of course I had to refund their money. At least a dozen calls to USPS produced nothing but surly clerks who could have cared less, and told me it was not in the system.
That package finally arrived at its destination EIGHT MONTHS LATER. It had been postmarked all over the East Coast. Of eighteen packages I sent in December of 2007, FOUR were lost and never seen again, with me having to refund all monies. In addition, our letter carrier is a mean and rude man who has made me change the height of my mailbox three times...too low, too high, etc. UNREAL! Each time I MEASURED its height and it was EXACTLY as USPS wants it. I now use FedEX and UPS with NO problems.
Loss of customer goodwill and satisfaction, loss of over 600 dollars in sales, endless trips to post office, etc. Negative feedback on eBay.

That is where a dope house is, and a lot of people hang out there; that is the 2nd time she gave me my mail. I have talked to supervisor of 80205 delivery station (Frank), and he tells me that nothing can be done about it because people make mistakes. So I called the post master general's office, and they tell me to go the consumer affairs. I cannot be paying for a post office box when I know that it is the post office that is the problem. So I am hoeing that you can help in some kind of way. But in the mean time I will be searching to see who I can get to help.
I lost two checks and a late payment of my telephone bill and maybe even more mail that I have not received. The dope house brought me my credit card in the envelope that they may not even have known what was in it.

The last time I stood in line for 15 min., then the clerk goes on break or something and disappears from the counter leaving a long line of customers with only one attendant. There was an automated machine installed in the lobby, and I used it frequently. (It was fast, convenient, user friendly and I liked it!) Now I was informed that it was removed! I was told it wasn't needed! I now travel 10 miles to the next little town to use their postal services. My roommate has gotten some, but not all, mail in the box at its present location, yet I have had to go to the main office clear across town to get any and all of mine. On February 2, Saturday, the mail was delivered sometimes during the night and consisted of 1 income tax statement which was of course of importance, and it said it right on the envelope. This neighborhood is outraged. There are many elderly or blind people living here, but also business people. I think it is against the law to hold mail for days and not to deliver it.
Many people, including myself either called or went to the post office. The supervisor was never available. The excuse from the clerks always was that the regular mail carrier is on vacation for the week. I spoke to the substitute carrier on Wednesday, January 30 at 7:30 at night (that's when she delivered the mail) and she stated that the route is just to big for one substitute. HOW ABOUT DIVIDING THE ROUTE IN HALF AND USEING 2 SUBS? I did not get any personal mail, 3 weekly newspapers, no advertisement... NOTHING! This is an ONGOING issue here, and we are all worried with the summer month up on us and all workers using up their vacation. I do not blame the workers, but feel it is the supervisors responsibility to make sure the mail delivery takes place six days a week at a reasonable time (not during the night on Saturday).

When delivering to an office, does it not occur to them to ask if we have outgoing mail? Afterwards, our regular carrier implied that the substitute didn't pick up the mail because it would have slowed him down, and he wanted to look fast to his supervisors. Not picking up a business's mail is just unacceptable. We called the local Post Office at 4 pm to let them know no one had come to pick up our mail and they promised someone would be by before 5. I had sealed each box with a full roll of packaging tape but when my boxes arrived at my home in the states they were sealed with ordinary clear tape I called them back again only to be told because i did not have any insurance on my goods i was not entitled to anything. We continued tracking daily but there was no change in the status as of day one. We waited for 5 days and called customer care to ask what happened. They took a complaint and gave me a reference number saying someone will call me. No one called until next business day. We again called the Tampa post office to see where the item is and they said they don't have any idea. We went to Hartford post office and they also told they don't have any idea other than they know it is just shipped. This continued for so many days and customer service gave me more than 10 reference numbers for my complaints. We went to psot office personally to meet the guys there. They didn't even bothered to check what happened to the item. Finally this is 21st day and I am going to claim for insurance. Hoping to get at least that. I went through a lot of pain as it was a brand new laptop. How frustrating.

I have used the USPS for a year or so and ship on the average of 15-20 items a week. The month of December (and other times, too) I have had a total of 3 items lost. Believe it or not, I have customers still waiting for their packages. I got a reply from the Denver Bulk Mail Center that they found part of my label laying on the floor. (I use permanent self-adhering labels and also tape them on with packing tape.) They sent me the sent address and the return address part of the label to verify they found it. They also included paperwork for me to fill out to identify the item so they could send it back to me. This was sent back to Denver on 12/27/07--and still no response one way or the other from them. Of course the Ebay customer that bought the filter is very upset, so therefore I refund her money. I am out about $150.00 on that transaction. I have another person I shipped an item to at the end of December still looking for his item. I shipped an item on the 7th, and that customer still has not received his item. I am going through the Paypal dispute center now with another customer who is out a shipment that was sent on the 30th of December. I sent an item to a person in Florida;I tracked it to a depot in Florida, and apparently it sat there for a week before the customer finally did receive it.
The USPS says the item in Denver was supposed to be coming back to me; that was on the 5th and is now the 20th. I have to get another item from my inventory to ship to this woman who is out her item; that's going to cost me another $30.00 plus shipping to keep her happy. In the Ebay world our rating means a lot, and my rating has been in jeopardy because of USPS's incompetance. I went to the Stafford post office and took the confirmation numbers and paperwork for 3 other items about 1 and a half weeks ago. The answer I got was they should get them--those were shipped out 3 weeks prior. I caught flack from those customers waiting for their items, and they were over $100.00 each. The USPS says Parcel Post takes from 2-9 days, yet there are times it takes 3 weeks for items to be shipped. If I ran a business like they do,I would be out of business. Thanks for your time.

My husband sent an insurance payment on Dec. 30, 2007, but it wasn't post marked until Jan. 10, 2008! Due to USPS we have a 10 day lapse in our coverage. I have spoken with my insurance carrier and was informed the post mark is how they calculate the payment as received. So even if they didn't process the payment until Jan. 10th, it would have still been considered received if the post mark was before Jan 1st. It was my understanding that when I place the mail in the mailbox it goes to the post office and is post marked. If this is incorrect, then where in the does it go? I have filled a complaint with the USPS and have yet to hear anything. What are my options?
The only reason we found out about the lapse in coverage was because I hydroplaned on the freeway Jan. 4th, 2008 and smacked the rear of my car (no one else involved). Needless to say I had to call my insurance carrier to report it. It was at that time we where informed the payment was not received and our coverage was no longer in effect. We were to wait a couple of days to ensure it wasn't sitting on someone's desk waiting to be processed. It was finally received Jan. 10th. Now not only do I have to have my car repaired, there's the ambulance, hospital, doctor, radiology and car rental that have to be paid for. All of this is under my insurance policy that took almost 2 weeks to be post marked. I am between jobs and did not budget for this. My car is a 2004 Honda Civic LX coupe. It doesn't even have 50,000 miles on it. The only saving grace is that it is still driveable.

I purchased a roll of stamps and used my visa card to pay for the purchase. Upon signing the merchant copy, I noticed that my entire credit card number is being printed (not just the last 4 disits as required by law). Now on my copy (customer receipt) only the last 4 digits are printed. I informed the clerk about the error because according to law, a customer's CC number is not to be printed in full on any documents but should be retained in their system in an encrypted format. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor did not come out but instead gave me a phone number for consumer affairs to file a complaint. Instead I decided to go online and file my concerns that way.
The consequences is that customers' full credit card numbers are accessible to anyone working in the postal center. This could lead to identity theft and fraud. I would like to know that the postal service is going to correct this considering that all other merchants have to comply to the law.

When I tried to cancel online, the web site informed me that I could not change an individual forwarding order from a commercial address. I spoke with customer service representative Mike who, rather than listen to my problem and help me solve it, told me there was only one solution. He gave me no chance to explain why my situation was different from the average request. When I asked to explain, he hung up on me. His attitude was rude and confrontational. I've mentioned the unique situation that prevented me from changing my address. Had Mike listened to me, I could have solved it by phone. With identity theft being such a problem, I see this to be a big issue. When speaking to Kay from the post office, she sent two different maintenance techs (two different occasions) to see what might be the problem. They claim that one of our boxes needed to be fixed, and it will resolve the issue. And that's fine, but what is their excuse to the other 5 boxes that have also been left open and do not need to be fixed? The post office needs to either take the time to train the postal carriers or allow them enough time to deliver mail.
Residents now have to go to the post office to get their mail.

My husband is going through training at Fort Meade, Maryland to become a broadcast journalist for the US Army. He wanted me to send him our video camera so that he could use it for a few projects there, so I sent in on December 4. He was going to bring it home with him for Christmas. He waited and waited and it never arrived. He is receiving mail at a normal address, not an APO/FPO address. So there is no reason not to get it there in normal delivery time. Of course it is the holidays, but nothing should take this long. I went to file a complaint at the main Post Office, and they were completely and utterly ignorant and rude. The first time I went in and told them I wanted to file a claim after it had already been 21 days, they told me to wait longer since it was the holidays and to call the post office on the receiving end to make sure it wasn't there. (Is that not something they should do?) Then they said to call the USPS 1800 number to Inquire about the package. When I called the other end, nothing was found, and when I called the 1800 number they said that you can't inquire about insured domestic mail.
So then I make the second trip into the post office to file the claim like I had originally intended to do. This time the guy that helped me said I needed to wait 75 days. I promptly told him that I only needed to wait 21 days before filing the claim. Then he highly suggested that I wait and give it more time before I file a claim. I have no intention of waiting because time is money and memories missed. I would have liked to use our Video Camera to record our kids' Christmas with their Dad, as he will be leaving for Iraq for 15 months. He has already missed so much of our kids' lives. This Video camera is a necessity in our life, and we have to be without it. There is no way I am waiting. The sad thing is, I was in a rush when I sent it off at the Post Office in the first place, and only insured it for $300. We paid over $800 for the camera. So needless to say, I told them that is why I wanted to file right away. The guy that helped me had absolutely no clue how to file a claim, so he went to talk to a manager to see what to do. The manager didn't have a clue either. He had to go print off directions on how to file a claim. Finally I filled out their form, and then waited and waited and waited for them to figure out how to fill out a half a page's worth of information. I was being helped for over an hour. Also during this visit the postal worker inquired about the location I shipped the package from. I told him it was the Clear Creek post office, and he said, "Oh that's not a Post Office, it's a contract station. Just a bunch of bank girls." Even as a contract station, IT'S A POST OFFICE! How ignorant and rude.
I have wasted my time and money and lost faith in the USPS, and now plan to ship EVERYTHING with someone other than them. As far as insurance goes, I don't know why American's should even have to pay it. Don't we already pay them to do their job? Why are we also paying for insurance so that if they don't do their job, we are covered. In any other market, businesses are accountable for their services. Why shouldn't the United States Postal Service be any different? As for the claim, we will see where that gets us.
We lost an $800 video camera and footage of our kids we can never get back!

The mailman tooted his horn to ask my wife to pick up a parcel from his mail delivery van. My wife ignored him so finally he delivered it to our front door. It turned out to be a very heavy package for my wife. While other substitute mail delivery persons deliver our other mail to the door, when there is parcel to be delivered, our regular delivery person will only deliver the parcel to the doorsteps and have us pick up the mail at our mailbox.
On another occassion a few years ago, the private road fronting our house had a sign that stated that there would be construction/repair work being done on the particular Friday. This was a crutial delivery day since I was out of my medication and was expecting my written drug prescription that I had to have for pick up of medicine from Tripler Army Hospital on Saturdy. Just an interesting experience I had with the USPS. Living in the snow belt in Michigan, we get used to having to shovel the snow quite a bit. I had never had a problem with my mail being delivered until I couldn't physically go out and shovel myself. I had a broken foot; there is not much you can do with that. I had been waiting for my mail order prescriptions to come that I need for a chronic illness. But the driver kept on driving past my house and any other house that didn't have a 'clear' path to the box. I finally get a ride to the post office itself where to my horror I find out that I cannot pick up MY OWN MAIL because it didn't reach my box and in turn it's still the property of the USPS...WHAT? I paid for these prescriptions that I desperately need, and they are telling me that they have to return to sender for blocked access to deliver (something like that). I was furious. It was sitting right there, and I couldn't take it.
Show a little compassion here. Broken Foot. Four months pregnant. It could take that driver 2 minutes at least to just drive up my driveway to deliver my mail during a hardship, but OH NO, to make the customer happy, that's not what they strive to do. They would rather kill you by keeping your heart medicine from you because one person decided you didn't shovel properly or didn't have the 3 minutes of time between the snow plow trucks piling it up, and you running down clearing it out for them. It's just plain crazy.
Frustrated. I immediatley contacted Sen Debbie Stabenow's office and got a quick response and follow up. The branch postmaster got a letter, so did I, that basically said Hey lets work together here, can an attempt be made to deliver to the door when hardships are in place Exactly my point. Think about the elderly. The postmaster changed his tune, he apologized, truthfully i think he didn't believe me when I said you will be hearing from D.C. on this matter.
