On August 29, 2011, I sent a package with Delivery Confirmation from San Diego, CA to Washington, D.C. The last updated tracking information is as follows:

August 31, 2011, 10:56 AM Out for Delivery
    WASHINGTON, DC 20036
    September 01, 2011, 12:56 AM

    Delivery status not updated

It is now September 22 and I have placed four calls to USPS. The San Diego post office took four days to return my call, which was returned on a Friday at 6pm PST. I called back immediately and received no answer. The voice mail that was left on my phone said that the tracking number I provided was incorrect, which is impossible because the first time I spoke with a rep, they looked the information up with me on the phone.

The San Diego post office was incredibly unhelpful. Her first response was, "It probably was delivered." Probably? I did not pay for a "This could have possibly been delivered" Confirmation. When I informed her that I have confirmed it was not received, she told me to call the Washington, D.C. post office because there was nothing else she could do.

I placed my first call to the Washington, D.C. post office, left my details with someone who said that I would receive a phone call back. No phone call was ever made. I made my second call to the Washington, D.C. post office, again, left my name and number and was told that I would get a call back. Again, no call was made.

Each person I spoke with told me that there was nothing that could be done in locating this package and that I would not be able to get my money back. How can the post office possibly not refund money for a service paid for which was not rendered? Ridiculous!

I shipped a package worth $100.00, priority on Aug. 29, 2011 with a delivery confirmation. On Sept. 3, 2011, I checked and the package showed that it was delivered to some other state than where I mailed it to. I mailed it to Monterey Park, CA. But the package was delivered to Beulah, ND. The person that purchased the package wanted their money back, because she did not receive the merchandise. So, I had to pay her. How does something like this even happen? I want the post office to take full responsibility for what they did and pay me for the damage caused. It wasn’t my fault and no one wants to take responsibility. I had to pay her back what she paid me for the item, because they don’t know where the item I sent is. If I do not get a response, I will take the post office to small claims court to get my money back. I strongly believe that it is their fault and they should fess up. Thank you.

However, when I asked the leasing office, they informed me that they weren't available when the delivery was made. It's a digital camera worth $86.

Ever since my boyfriend and I moved into our new house, our mailman has refused to follow the order I submitted: for us to be the only ones to receive mail at our house. He has put an x on many of our magazines and mail where our name and address are which we've received for some odd reason. Lastly, when I receive mail that isn't ours, I write 'return to sender, wrong address' and he just leaves them in the mailbox until he decides, after a week or two, to pick them up and return them! So, I've now started to bring them into the post office where I've complained several times and finally someone told me to try and go on here. I hope things get settled or we get a new mailman very soon, please!

I called USPS customer service, e-mailed customer service, and called the local post office. The local post office referred me to the carrier's manager's numbers: **. The line is always busy. I would like to know why I would be disconnected and put on hold six times when calling (909-887-5518) the Northpark Office in San Bernardino, CA. Last Wednesday, 9/21/11, I called the Northpark Office and I was trying to validate an address that they deliver to. I was disconnected, and I called back and got to speak to Mike, he transferred me to Anthony who said he would check the address, and then put me on hold for over 10 minutes but never came back to the phone.

I called back, HU again, called again, and Mike transferred me again, the carrier answered this time, and said I would have to speak to Anthony, put me on hold again, Anthony never came to the phone, after another 10 minutes I finally gave up. I called back again, was HU on again, called back the sixth time and when Mike answered I told him that I had been waiting for over 10 minutes each time, he transferred me once again to Anthony who chose never to answer the phone. I tried to call and speak to Elizabeth **, the station manager, but no one would answer the phone. What's going on at this location? I can appreciate that people are busy doing their job, but this is ridiculous!

I have worked in many customer service positions in my life and when a customer calls more than once, most people will take the time to help that person deal with the problem. This is why the post office has gotten a bad reputation over the years. I understand that there have been cutbacks and the people that are civil servants take a lot of bologna from the public, but I am usually an easy-going person that has a lot of patience, but I can't believe that this is someone in a management position! The mail that I was trying to send contains personal information and I couldn't have it go to the wrong address or person, so It was important that I verify this ASAP, but they didn't care about me and my issues obviously. Please contact the manager Elizabeth ** and let her know why her station is being represented in this way, since I can't even get anyone to answer the phone anymore.

The customer contacted me on September 13, 2011 through eBay asking for her package. At first, I misunderstood her letter, she said, "hi! Just letting you know that I still haven't received this item until now. What kind of postal service did u use? "Then she added that she wanted a refund. I thought she was asking for a refund due to receiving her package so late. I filed a claim with the post office.

I got another message from her explaining that she did not get the package. I misunderstood her very first message. I then contacted the post office on September 15, 2011 to try and locate the package. The post office told me that they need 2 business days. I never heard back from the post office, so I called on Monday September 19, 2011 at 4:08. The person I spoke to would not give me an answer or listen to what I was saying. I then asked to speak to a manager and he told me the claim is over, he wouldn't tell me what happened to the package. He told me to contact consumer affairs and hung up on me.

I complained at the post office twice that my mail carrier never came to the door for my signature. She just put a slip into the mail box because she was too lazy to walk to the door. I was given excuses each time. Finally, I left her a note and things improved. I sent certified return receipt letter to creditor I'd been corresponding with for a year. But this time, it was sent back as there was no such address. I sent another certified return receipt letter to that address. The letter was forwarded many weeks ago but no one knows where it is. And I never received the return receipt. This time, I sent 'registered' return receipt letter since registered mail is tracked by hand, on advice of local postal inspector on 9/3/2011. The tracking online said expected delivery in Texas would be 3 days later on 9/6/2011. The letter arrived at sort facility 12 days later on 9/15/2011. The registered letter still has not been delivered. And there is no update other than to say expected delivery is on 9/6/2011 (it's now 9/21/2011). Four e-mails to USPS customer service asking for assistance have been deleted without being read. No one seems to care. This is not a worthy successor to the post office I grew up with in America.

I called the post office to find out if there was an issue but they just said not to worry and they might get/send back to me in a few days if there was a problem. Another week later, the invitations have not been received and they have not been returned. I know the postage was correct because more invitation was mailed from Manhattan and everyone received them. I stopped a postal carrier on the street to see if they knew anything and said there have been a lot of problems with the mail. 2 weeks late and no one has received them and now I have to buy more.

So far, the invitations have never been located. I had to order more which cost more money and pay more postage and I will need to take them into the Manhattan post office to make sure they get delivered. They are basically in limbo. I would like to know what has happened. This is extremely stressful and time sensitive and now costs a lot more money

I have recently moved to this address in may and performed my change of address, forwarding of family last name mail and other forms I was requested to complete both in person and online. I paid $1 for every person in our household and for every combination of the names used, as sometime the mail has our middle initial and sometimes not, so that had to be changed and forwarded as well which I did for 5 persons of this household.

The first month, I received mail for different people that used to live here and I returned them. On one of the items there was a name of the previous person with my last name, I learned that we have a common last name - no problem. Well I was wrong...it is a huge problem. I noticed my mail wasn't being delivered so I was instructed to visit my last post office and speak to the post master for which they said all was being forwarded to my new post office. No they were not. I called the new post office and was told that the change takes a while to start working and to give it some time.

In the meantime, I had applied for a duplicate, renewal and change of address of my driver's license as I had lost it and had not received it. Well, they said, "wait and see, the state has issues with shortage of personnel". Wow!

So I waited (for 3 months). Now the Dept of Motor Vehicles said the license was returned 3 times! Well, not by us because I have been waiting for my CDL and I have no identity! Imagine the feeling. So I got upset and the mail lady confronted me and asked if I used to live here and I said no! But according to her the previous family had the last name so all mail with the last name was being forwarded to them! **.

I went to the post office and spoke to a so called supervisor and he didn't let me talk to the post master because he said "she has more important issues"! **! My mail is lost, he confirmed it. He said it's a common mistake and I should not make such a big deal out of it because he is trying to help me out. He told me to fill out a form for the entire family but he can't get my other mail to me cause basically they are lost, and for me to leave because I was causing too much attention to the customers! ** And he didn't even provide me with his last name! This sucks now that I have no identity. He kept a piece of mail I showed to him because now, the two pieces of mail I have received; one was opened which was opened and was resealed and with all kinds of hand written notes on the envelope. He said, "too bad and there is only so much he can do".

I am sorry but I don't care for the post office if it were to shut down because now that my mail is lost, my identity flying around, who knows where. Now I have to deal with any "stolen identity" if it were to show up on my credit...is he going to fix it? This really is unacceptable so shut them down and not pay them for a job they cant take care of and there are many people needing a job right now, right?

6 shower wraps with the following letters on them: CP, AP, BP, MP, GP, AP (2 wraps are white, the remaining are light blue)

I spoke with Kody. He will track the package and find out as to what happened to the items. Case #**. On September 8th, 2011, the Stateline, NV post office lost or stole $205.95 worth of packages that had been supposedly delivered to me that day. Before I knew that these packages had been stolen, I simply went up to the postal worker. I asked him to look up four packages that I had been waiting for. He looked at the log for September 8th. It showed that these packages (indeed 4 packages) had been put in one of their bigger lockers, and a key was put in my PO Box. No key for that locker had been put in my box. They told me the key was 163, which I never received. I know that I had only received keys for locker numbers 151 and 87 (or close to that) during that week. And I have very good memory.

Within that same week, there were 3 different packages that were not ours that were put in our PO Box. We did the honest thing and returned them. We could have easily kept them. Perhaps we should keep the next package we get in error to prove the unbelievable disorder in this particular office. Unfortunately, if the Stateline post office did give the key to someone else and did not steal my packages, the people who did get them did not return them. My four packages contained: 1 HP Mini ($148.99), 1 dietary supplement - CystoProtek ($43.99), 2 Hurley clothing items - shirt and skirt ($6.98), and 1 pair of Earth Co leggings ($5.99). The postal workers at the Stateline, NV office have even admitted to me that their office has been messing up a lot. Over the next week I was given multiple stories, the substitute carrier thought she remembered putting the key in my box, then she definitely had, some of the keys are missing, the locks have to be drilled out, etc. After being given the runaround, numerous phone calls, major aggravation, I reordered the shoes and had them resent to my mother's PO box, surely they couldn't vanish if they never left the building. On Sept 19th, I found a key to the parcel box inside the post office, I opened the box and it was empty! I called the post office (from inside the post office), and explained the situation. The package was in the back because it was in the wrong box! USPS refuses to do carrier pickups of my ecommerce packages. After 4 years of carrier pickups and 175K worth of USPS postage printed, the Maple Valley Post Office refuses to continue the carrier pickups. According to Phyllis, the first reason given for ceasing carrier pickups was because it was unsafe to backup into the driveway and they could only pickup packages in the front of a yard or a porch. Once we established that the carrier has to park (and not back-down my driveway) to pick up packages, whether at the backdoor (where they used to pick up the packages) or at the front door, the next reason they gave was it was unsafe to go into my backyard, since there is a fence. I offered to put up mirrors and leave the fence door open so they would have visibility or I would even remove the fence so they would have visibility. I was told "no" and they wouldn't go into the back yard, period. So I offered to put in a door on the garage is right on the driveway (where my office is) and they wouldn't have any safety issues. The carrier knocks on the door and I hand them the packages.

The offer of installing a garage door was turned down. The Post Master insists that I leave the packages exposed to the rain, in the grass next to the street fence or on the porch in full view of the street. Though the Post Office responded to a USPS customer service ticket that they would work with customer to resolve carrier safety issue, but they are not. The only other option I was given is to build a box (very large) and put it in the front of our house and it would have to be unlocked. At this point, the Post Office is purposely putting road-blocks up to having to do carrier pickup. I believe that this is not in the best interest of USPS and that this has become personal for the Post Master. USPS customer service recommended that I contact Consumer Affairs for assistance. All I want is the same service that other USPS customers are offered. Nothing special. This is adversely affecting my business because of the lack of pickups and having to transport packages to the Post Office myself. Secondly, this denies the Postal Carrier the compensation he would receive if he was allowed to pick up the packages. If carrier pickup is not re-instated, I will be forced to change carriers, which will result in my company having to pay for thousands of dollars of re-programming our sites plus re-training of our employees. And, finally, while USPS is asking for a bailout from Congress, this Post Master is throwing away a customer that generates significant revenue for USPS. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I have copies of the letter I sent to USPS along with USPS customer service ticket numbers if you need them.

He said, “We are not delivering mail to Sally Harden Road where the bridge is closed at.” My mail box is about 20 feet from the bridge; the bridge is only about 6 feet long and is intact, but undermined. I do understand safety measures; hence, I am a postal carrier myself, but 40 feet to the north of my mailbox is another mailbox, which is on the same route as my house is, and their getting their mail without interruptions.

I asked the postmaster if the letter carrier would be about to go to my house, and he simply said, “No.” I don’t know how this could be a safety problem, if my mailbox is within a safe distance from the road problem. I called once again on Wednesday 9/14 and I was told that I would be contacted by the Station manager Ralph ** after speaking with Jovan who did call me 2 times that afternoon to tell me the package was not found yet. The US postal office claims that in their computer system, it's stated that it had been delivered. I paid $15.45 to the U.S. Post Office on Monday 9/12/2011 for an Express Mail package to be delivered to my daughter in Pennsylvania on Tuesday 9/13/2011. The price of delivery covered "guaranteed delivery of package before 3:00p.m. on Tuesday, and insurance of the package for $300.

The package was never delivered. A postal note was left in the box at my daughter's residence in Pennsylvania that no one was available to sign at 2:08 in the afternoon by "someone"? That was clearly not the case, since my daughter made arrangements to make sure to wait for the package until 3:30 p.m. No one came to her door for signature. When the package did not arrive in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, 9/13/2011, I called the Stroudsburg post office and spoke with an employee named Scott. He informed me that the package was there and could not be re-delivered until the following day. Nevertheless, in great frustration with the post office service, my son-in-law picked up the package himself at the Stroudsburg Post Office at 4:30 p.m. the same day.

The jewelry that I sent my daughter arrived crushed in the package. Since then I filled out a PS 3533 form and submitted the form to my post office at the Kingsbridge Station in the Bronx on Wednesday 9/14/2011. I handed the form to the postal worker by the name of Christina Gopal and explained the circumstances.

She gave me her supervisor's name of Mr. ** and gave me his telephone number to call ** to speak directly to him because the contents in the package I sent were not delivered as "guaranteed" and had arrived damaged. I called the supervisor's number at the Kingsbridge Post Office several times on Wednesday 9/14/2011 and got no response.

On Thursday 9/15/2011, I called the Kingsbridge Post Office at 8:10 a.m. to speak with the supervisor and was immediately cut off by a female clerk who abruptly told me to call back at 12:30 p.m. and hung up before I could tell her why I called.

To date, I have not been able to reach any postal worker who is cooperating with my very trying and difficult experience with the post office. Nor have I encountered anyone who wants to take charge for what happened to the crushed items that my daughter received even though I paid for insurance. I was told by a representative over the telephone to call the Consumer's Affairs Dept. of the Postal Service. I hope you can resolve this issue because it is something that a consumer should not have to experience for services paid. The postal workers that I had to interact with, as well as the service that I received is a horrifying experience that I don't expect to be duplicated again.

Since then, I've tracked the piece on the web with no new updates, no new scans and no one knows where the mail piece is.

I called and opened three cases with the customer service and they referred me to Consumer affairs (Brooklyn). They have no idea what happened to the mail piece. My family repeatedly has packages and mail that never gets delivered. One such time, the post man delivered a package to the wrong address. When I called after tracking the packages, a supervisor named Alan drove out and found the packages but made me go retrieve it, though it was the post man's mistake and not mine. I do not get paid to do their job. This has happened as many as 5 times in the past 6 months. Alan has been extremely rude and unhelpful, as though I lost my packages!

I have called customer support, where I was told that the post office is not responsible for delivering mail/packages to the wrong address. If they are not, then who is? Right now, I am missing a book that was last tracked to the SCF hub in Louisville, KY on 8/31/2011. I still have not received it. It seems as though the more I complain, the more packages they lose. Last year, a copy of my tax returns never made it to its destination and to this day, is lost in USPS land. All the lost items, I have had to pay the retailer for and I never got my purchases.

I am so fed up with paying shipping to be ripped-off. I am going to try the post master general. Unfortunately, that can only be done via phone or mail. I have a feeling that too is going to be a waste of time as everyone I have dealt with on every one of these instances have been rude. They simply do not care and there is nothing I can do. I am guessing that because it is government ran, they think they have no responsibility to fulfill the commitment they say they are making when they are taking your money for shipping. I have lived here for 25 years and my husband, 47. We have never had these problems before but now, it is a constant issue.

I do not see how they are ''losing'' so many of my packages all of a sudden. I am beginning to wonder if it's retribution for calling and complaining each time it has happened. I feel that if they accept your money and have all these ads about great service, they should actually deliver that service. It's despicable.

No wonder they are going bankrupt. The service is awful, and the workers are rude and uncaring. The very worst thing is that, after all the expenses and time trying to get it straightened out, the end result is they do nothing. I get nothing except the bill for the items I have ordered and never received. It should be illegal. Are they losing packages on purpose so the public is forced to pay for insured shipping which they cannot afford?

Customers would not use USPS if we did not believe that they are competent enough to deliver a mail. Customers should be advised to buy insurance because USPS is unable to deliver. I went to the mailbox at the front of our house after I realized that I had not received a certain package that had been mailed out on 02 Sept 11. I am disabled so my husband mostly goes to the mailbox to pick up our mail. This package had arrived but was jammed into our mailbox. This damaged package had been previously completely opened on one end with scotch tape sealing the end of that opening. On two other sides of the package, it had been partially ripped opened by someone connected to the U.S. Postal Service.

No one from the post office marked this package "DAMAGED" before delivery to our home. Pictures were taken. I have had so many pieces of mail which were delayed, stolen, damaged, etc. in my 16 years of disability. This is why I believe that the insurance industry had already succeeded in infiltrating the U.S. Postal Service including their distribution of mail with under the table monies, placing their own third party reps there, etc. Whenever I criticized my insurer, this is one way they retaliate.

Last October 2010, after my Social Security letter came to me (after the deadline had passed to return it and after making visits to four post offices three of whom with my husband), we found that Southeastern Postal Service Mail Distribution Center governing 610 area code outside of Philadelphia, PA had no manager running their distribution center. None. This information was given to us directly by the front end manager for their post office there, Lenore **. We even asked her to repeat it because we were so stunned. My DHL package from Germany arrived at the delivery depot on 8/26/2011, yet it has never made it to me. No delivery attempt notices were left at the house. When I finally was given a match code number, I used it to track and confirm both through DHL as well as USPS. The former claims, "Recipient was repeatedly not home, therefore the package was returned to the sender on 8/30." USPS claims, "The package was returned to the sender on 8/30 because the addressee moved without leaving a forwarding address." Well, which one is it? And who returns an item after only four days? Due to a disabled family member, someone is home at all times.

I have so far talked to my carrier (who was evidently not the one who scanned the package that day), the main post office, DHL customer service (email and via telephone), the main post office (in person), the local post office (twice in person), as well as emailed a complaint to USPS customer service via their website, but there was no response other than to rate their email survey system. The supervisor claims that unless the package is scanned again, there is nothing he can do for me other than to keep looking if it is returned to his branch. He just knows that it was not returned so far (today is 9/9) and that the scanner number is different from the regular carrier's.

Now, why can we not find out whose scanner it is and who was on duty in order to talk to them? If the package had been insured, the supervisor suggested he would file a claim with me right then and there. I am the recipient, not the sender so how would I know? Also, I receive regular packages from Germany and never had any delivery problems at this address at all (yet I was told that there is no offer of insuring the packages from the sender's local post office).

DHL wants me to turn to my local post office, but the local post office cannot help. Somewhere, somehow, one should be able to find out if it is even on the way back to Germany. How can one lose a package within the same town? Also, does this not leave room for dishonesty (Oh, let me keep a box by claiming it was returned and then let it disappear)? By the way, we are talking about a 18.8 kg package here - nothing that one could just "drop in a crack" somewhere.

The rating is zero! The post-woman was loud, rude and degrading. On Thursday, 08 Sept 2011, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the post-woman (Asian) delivered mails to the mailboxes at the apartment building in which I reside. In my three year's stay in this apartment building, I have had numerous complaints against each postal delivery person who attempts to drop and/or place mail to to the mail slots. Realizing it is not entirely the fault of postal service (as the slots are old, worn-out and extremely hard to open and/or close), the problem is that my office/computer wall is on the mailbox side of the building. And since I work at my computer daily, I am subjected to a 'daily' basis of at least 5 minutes of this loud pounding, banging and slamming of twelve old mail boxes!

Whenever this happens, it scares the ** out of me while my computer shakes! This is unnerving. I have asked (nicely) each postman to please not bang so hard as there's a person and a computer on the other side of the wall (I am in a small studio so I cannot move the desk and the cables; there was no space). In any event, I have asked them if this could be reported to the owner of building. They said no, without any good explanation. If possible, I would do this myself; however, I don't have a master key to the mailboxes in order to demonstrate the noise level to the building owners. They cannot hear what I'm hearing seven days a week! It's unnerving!

Today, the owners were on the building premises and I felt that it was a perfect time in having the post-woman do a quick demo for them. She refused. She gave me a frustrated and angry look, raised her voice then said, "No. I don't do this! You do this! I deliver mail! That's all I do! If you want changes, you do it! Not me! Not my job!" I must say that I was surely shocked by her rude behavior. I asked her to calm down. I said to her, "Since I can't demonstrate without a master key, all I'm asking from you is to do a quick demo for the owners while they're here (they're hardly ever around when USPS is here)."

So, while they were here, I thought it would be a good timing for a demo of the noise level of the old mail boxes. She, again, totally went off on me! "No. I don't do this! You do this! I deliver mail! That's all I do! You want changes? You do it! Not me! Not my job!" Needless to say, I told her to learn proper etiquette and then I slammed my door! Huh! Such rude and unethical behavior was so uncalled for. After all, she could have been gracious and polite enough to help me out for just a minute. It would have made her job a bit easier if she'd helped me report the old, noisy, hard to open and close boxes.

The problem with USPS is that there are too many good-hearted folks out there who are out of work in this country, while the nasty, cold-hearted and ungrateful people are still employed. If I were their manager, I would say, "You're fired!" Go figure? Admittedly, I'm one annoyed USPS recipient!

What do you do when you feel utterly helpless? The Palms USPS station is the worst postal station around. They employ the most incompetent, lazy and ignorant people in the public sector.

I consider myself lucky when I do receive my mail. Many times, I discover other recipient's mail in my box, while my neighbors receive my mail. On several recent occasions, "unclaimed" packages have been sent back to the senders, even though I never received an "attempted delivery notice".

I've tried, on several occasions, to complain to the post office about my carrier, who never leaves delivery notices! Every attempt to complain has been thwarted by the post office itself; in fact, the last time I contacted them (just 2-3 weeks ago) and asked to speak with the carrier's supervisor, they put me on hold for awhile, then the carrier herself picked up the phone! When I inquired about her sending packages back to the sender because they were "unclaimed", even though she never leaves a notice, she replied that she has never sent packages back to the sender. She also claimed that, for every incident I mentioned (I referred to two specific instances, in separate weeks), she was not delivering mail those weeks! Then, when I, again, asked to speak to her supervisor, she put me on hold for about 20 minutes. It was then 9:15am and, since I had been told to call between 8am-9am, the only time the supervisor is available. I figured they were just waiting for me to hang up. So, I did.

I have notices, permanently attached to my apartment door and to my mailbox, directing the carrier to place all packages in front of my door or on top of the mailboxes. Sometimes, she places them there; sometimes, she decides not to deliver my mail at all. It's been a real crap shoot with USPS.

My most recent shipment to Los Angeles from Frisco, Texas shows tracking that was processed through the Coppell, Texas sort facility on August 31. It is now September 8, and my package has not been delivered. What is the matter? Where is my package? A priority mail to Georgia takes four-five days, but to New York City it takes two days.

I sent a package via the United States Postal Service and it has been a month and I have not received it. It was last seen in Bell Gardens on August 17 and since then (today it's September 7), it has not been delivered.

I have made numerous calls to the USPS and I am told I will receive a call in 2 business days, but I never do. They are unhelpful and do not provide any information on how to check if they have my package in the undelivered mail center that they have in Georgia.

Furthermore, if they do have it there and it is not returned to me, everything in my package (a total value of over $600) will be either auctioned or destroyed. Inside my package I had put a paper with a return address, telephone number, and the address where it was meant to be shipped to. However, I have received no help or notice of where my package could be.

Please help me. Either call me or email me (I check my email frequently).

Today, I checked my mail box and found the mail man has put a small name-size card in my mail box. It says "This address is vacant. Do not deliver mail to this mail box." I have never told the post office or this mail man that I was moving. This same mail man also park in front of each cluster of mail boxes for 5 to 15 minutes before he gets out of his jeep to put the mail in the mail boxes and I ask the post office if that was normal and they said, he should not be doing that. Today, my neighbor brought my mail, a health insurance info, that the mail man had put in his mail box. I have had lost pay checks and Christmas cards with money in them. As I said, I have complained about this man . I am tired of this man putting my mail in other mail boxes over and over repeatedly and nothing is being done about this.

When I asked their international shipping hotline, the lady told me that I can figure out the Argentinian mail carrier myself. When I asked what I could do with that information, she had no response. When I shipped it initially, they did not inform me of the fact there is no tracking unless I spend an additional $45.

The deer is on our neighbor's property across the street, and I was told by the neighbor to stay off his property and to mind my own business. The postmaster said the only way to get mail back to both boxes was to remove the deer, which he never know where the deer is. I moved the deer more into the ditch but no mail. I have complained several times about the mail lady, about getting everyone's mail, which is not our neighbor's, more like a few roads away, but the postmaster does nothing. On September 6th 2011, I paid for the express mail international level of service, but that service was not rendered. Instead, I received the priority mail int'l. level of service. Here's the specifics:

On April 28, 2011, a package was left at the Miamisburg OH ** .that weighed 14 lbs,12oz, to be sent by express mail international (EMI), to Zihuatanejo, MX. Postage was 78.15, and the numbers were assigned to the box. The package arrived in Zihuatanejo on May 21st 2011, making total transit time to be about 22 days, over three weeks. Prior experience, (which I have had a lot of), shows that express mail packages to Zihuatanejo MX, have arrived in ten days from day mail was left at receiving p.o. in the us. And, priority mail international (PMI) packages have had a transit time range from three to seven weeks.

Concluding, per my opening comment, I received PMI service for an EMI price. The USPS did not fulfill the service level they sold me and I was charged an EMI rate, and received PMI service. Note that the transit time delay, per computer tracking of the box, was not due to being held up in Mexico. The delay was in the US customs international dispatch, where the package was held for several weeks, before being sent on its way. A fair resolution to this would simply be, for the USPS to refund me the difference between the cost of the $78.15 EMI postage I paid, and what would have been the PMI price, approximately 30% less. If I recall, the difference was around $28.00! Thank You.

In August, we called the post office and requested that our mails be moved across the road so that I would not have to cross the main highway to retrieve them (I almost got ran over). At this time, Leslie said that she would mail forms to be filled out. I tried to explain to her that I was legally blind and that was the reason for the request. Leslie rudely said that everyone in the house had to have their doctor to fill out a statement and she was putting the information in the mail.

We received the information and Martha filled out the documents. She received a statement regarding my eye surgery and the fact that I am legally blind. Martha, then, mailed them to Leslie. Leslie returned the information with a note stating that a form must be filled out for Martha as well. Martha spoke to Leslie and once again tried to explain to her that she works out of town and that I needed to be able to retrieve the mail without the fear of getting ran over.

Once again, Leslie was very rude when Martha asked for her last name. She refused to give it and she also refused to tell her who her supervisor was. Leslie gave Martha a phone number to call: 1-800-ASK-USPS. We have tried to call this number numerous times but without any success in getting to talk to an agent. Each time we call, we would stay on hold for 30-45 minutes with a recording stating that they are experiencing a high volume of calls. It would advise us to hold, call back another time or log-in to the website where most of the US Postal Business can be conducted. This is very frustrating as I worked in the post office and know that this is not how customers are to be treated.

Several years ago, our regular mail carrier retired. Since then, we have had ongoing problems getting our New York Times Book Review and New Yorker magazine delivered regularly. This past August (2011), delivery problems escalated. Calls to the post office were fruitless. They claimed that they delivered whatever they have. Subsequent phone calls resulted in nobody answering the phone, even after thirty or forty rings. We called a number we found on the USPS website to complain on 8/2/2011 when we hadn't received mail in four days. Also, a package was supposed to be delivered that day and wasn't. When I checked the tracking information, it claimed that a delivery was attempted at 6:00. That was not true because we were home the entire evening.

The person we spoke with gave us a number ** and said she'd call back with information. She didn't. The next day, we received a huge delivery of mail including the package we were expecting. Some of the mail was several weeks old. The following week on 8/8, we didn't receive any mail. The next day, we received two deliveries. Meanwhile, we continued to have problems with periodicals, arriving weeks late or not at all. On 8/22, I spoke to someone in Consumer Affairs again who promised to call back and didn't. I called again on 8/31, was given another number ** and was told he'd call back with information. He didn't.

I also asked Consumer Affairs to put a periodical watch on the two publications. He said he would and would call me later that day with a case number. He didn't. On 9/3, I called again. This time, I was transferred to a "head supervisor" who did call me back (Heather, employee ID #**). She gave me a toll-free number for Consumer Affairs so that I could check on my periodical watch. I called there today and spoke to two **! The first one had no idea to what I was referring so she transferred me to someone else who was only marginally more in touch. I told her about the periodical watch I attempted to place on 8/31 and that I wanted to check its status. For some reason that was impossible for her to comprehend. Then she told me that only the publishers could do that. Then she told me to file a complaint online. I asked to speak to a supervisor. After being on hold for a while, she claimed the supervisor would call me back.

Guess what? He didn't! So what's the deal here? How can I get the service I deserve? Is everyone just planning to shift responsibility, or is someone going to fix this egregious problem?

I went to the post office. They had my mail and the carrier was already gone. Therefore, I would not have received it until Monday. I complained to a supervisor and filled out a report on their website. I stopped my mail last week to start Tuesday, August 30th and to be restarted on Tuesday, September 6th which is tomorrow. I hope I get it.

This complaint is about the mail being delivered one of the days that we were gone. It rained and my sprinklers hit the mail box. All of that day's mail is drying on the kitchen table. What is wrong with the La Mirada office? I should also say that this is just twice this year that I have reported it but it has happened many times. This did not happen when we had a regular delivery man. They seem to get transferred after a few months and this type of error starts all over again. I ran a business for 31 years. On July 22nd, my mother's long-term care facility business office called and told me that Mom was no longer covered through Medicard. I immediately called MassHealth and then the Taunton Post Office. I was told that they attempted delivery on Saturday but no one was there and they do not know where the package is and I never received it back. I called the Scituate Post Office and spoke with Tom ** who seemed very willing to help me locate the package and we talked several times.

I then called the following Monday as I did not hear back from him. He said that he was waiting for the Post Master as their history does not show where the package is. I called him back the same day and said that they need not send the package to MassHealth when it is found, but I want it back and with answers as to why it never arrived. I have never heard back from them. I would also like to note that the package was sent to the MassHealth P.O. box but the delivery person chose to attempt to deliver it to a government agency on a Saturday! This does not make sense as well.

I am now applying for hearings with the State and my mother's account and her coverage remain in jeopardy.

This horrible event has been extremely stressful and upsetting. I feel that I should have restitution for the cost of the Express Mail service (original package cost $13.25) and packages mailed on August 23rd (USPS $13.25 & UPS $8.34). But, more importantly, I would like a document from USPS stating that the package was lost, at no fault of mine.

My confidence in using the Post Office as the main source of sending important mail is at this point non-existent. I also feel the lack of concern or follow-up on the part of the postal workers which is upsetting. When I initially spoke with the Taunton office, the male employee did not apologize and he said that it was probably sent back to me, which it did not or that I should call the Scituate office. He then gave me the telephone number for USPS Consumer Affairs in Boston and said to call them and complain. Wow! What a lack of empathy or attempt to resolve my problem. The amount of work, time, telephone calls, correspondence, attorney assistance and distress this has caused me is more than I can believe.

I will be out of the country commencing Thursday, the 8th of September and will be returning on the 26th. If someone could contact me prior to my departure, it would be greatly appreciated.

I moved to Masthope in August 2010, at that time, I was told I couldn't have a mailbox on the property because it was a Masthope rule (because I "rent"). Well, I don't rent and I am a legal lease holder held by a legal contract for 5 years, that's the first problem. So I rented a mail box PO Box 162. During the course of the year, I found out it's not a Masthope rule so I contacted Post Master Judy **, who is not in the Lackawaxen office but the Beach Lake office, and she stated it's a postal service "rule" because I rent. Again, I don't "rent" but she told me she has a memo that proves her point and she will get a copy to me. That was in June 2011.

Since our phone conversation, she has yet to provide any legal documentation to state that a lease holder can't get a mailbox on property. I have called and left messages several times and she has not returned my calls. I have hand-delivered a written letter to the Lackawaxen Post Office and she has yet to reply, and I have been ignored. Ignoring me won't make me go away. I have spoke to "Dave" at the Lackawaxen Post Office who stated he is the Post Master (I never saw him before) and that Judy is his boss. When I asked for the name and number of Judy's boss or who she answers to, he couldn't give me the name of the person and he gave me the same runaround.

I called and spoke to Jean at Beach Lake, Judy wasn't in that day (again) and I explained the situation to her and she said she would investigate it and get back to me. I am still waiting. At this point, ** is my legal address. The United States Government, State of Pennsylvania, all my utilities and bills and my bank all acknowledge that this is my legal address but I still can't get a post box in the community where I live. The property owners of the house said I can get a box on property and they don't mind. The Masthope Board said there is no problem so I am really at loss as to why I can't have one.

I feel at this point, it is discrimination. I am afraid that if this is not corrected, a lawsuit will follow naming the USPS and Judy **. If it's a point of money, which it usually is, I am more than willing to pay for the cost of the box ($42 yearly); exactly the cost of my PO Box in town. This is not only a point of convenience, which Judy said I could be forced to buy a bigger PO Box if I fail to pick up my mail in a timely fashion, it's the point that I live here legally and I am entitled to get my mail where I live.

If a customer in Canada wants to choose first class, they have to wait 4-6 weeks for their items. Then, they will blame us instead of the post office. UPS and FedEx charges heavy duty in taxes and that's not cost effective. We feel like we are stuck. The tracking said it went as far as San Bernadino for sorting (this is about 50 miles from my house) on the same day I mailed it July 15, 2011. There shows no further tracking. I called The International Inquiry Center as I was instructed by my local PO. The Customer Service Representative, Jean, proceeded to tell me there is nothing that can be done; that Priority International mail is not trackable. I am unhappy with her response so I asked to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold 3 times and said the supervisor was not answering, she would send her an email to call me.

Ericka, the supervisor, called me the next afternoon which bothered me because Jean said she would return my call the same day. Anyway, Ericka apologized and said she was sorry there was nothing to be done other than to contact the Consumer Affairs and the Advocate for the PO. So here I am complaining. In more recent times, I have lost more than 5 packages that have been shipped to other countries but thought maybe the service in the other countries were as good as the US was so I let it go. Now, I see that it seems to be that USPS is the bad guys. I really feel that because the postal workers know the packages can't be traced and the items are marked clearly on the customs forms, it seems they maybe taking turns deciding which packages should go further to their destinations or which one the postal workers are going to keep for themselves.

Apparently, there is no monitoring of these packages or employees, which is very disgraceful. I can see why people are more willing to pay for UPS or FedEx, because at least you get a confirmation of delivery. They may seem like it cost more upfront but when I use the post office; I pay postage, I send the package which doesn't get received and I have to refund the recipient, so I am out more money. You would think the Post Office would do a little more customer service and make the tracking available for overseas Priority Mail. Also when answering a telephone call as a representative of the USPS, do more than read a script off a paper about how sorry they are and there is nothing that can be done.

This is NOT unusual for Santa Monica, CA. Just like everyone else, I need my mail. I can't go out and rent a post office box. I don’t have the money to do that, and I shouldn't have to!

Not only does it take until 6pm for our mail to even reach our mailbox, but sometimes they will even leave my husband's important documents (like his bank account information, insurance information, etc.) on top of our mailbox! We've received packages where the boxes are completely messed up (ripped in some spots, etc). I have tried calling to complain but they have been anything but helpful. I even had one of their ** twits hang up on me numerous times. From now on, I'm sticking with UPS. I hate USPS! If I could give them zero stars, I would!

I had lost two items from USPS--the first one was sent from Chicago to Louisiana and the second one was from California to Louisiana. They were both sent as priority mail. I loaned both of these senders money to start up a small business, so the senders used registered priority mail. They offered to over night it but I had no problem waiting two to three days, and have my friends save money. I figured that I was receiving a tracking number. What is the worse that could happen? I was so wrong.

I ended up losing over $1,700, and neither one of my friends' business took off. So, they just returned the money they owed me. They sent it as a money order with my name on it so I would be the only person who could cash it. In both cases, the tracking number stated that the package was received, was sorted through sort facility, and en route to destination--that was the last update on both shipments.

The friends I loaned the money to do not know each other so it was not some kind of a plot. And neither one of them knew I loaned anyone else money. I have tried everything. Like most, the post say, "Sorry for the inconvenience." And that was it. No restitution, nothing more than "we will look into this matter further." I will call and will get the same answer: "sorry, we have no more updated information on your shipments."

Both friends offered to FedEx me another money order but I would not feel right doing that. In two months, I'm seeing my friend in Chicago and he offered to give me the money order when I get there. So, it had nothing to do with them. These are loyal people who I have known pretty much my entire life. My advice is to use FedEx; spend more money to save a lot of money in the future.

The track and confirm program showed that today, August 27th, the documents are still in "Customs Clearance" in France. When I queried a live person in USPS Customer Service, I was told that I should have and answer concerning the status of the envelope within 1 to 5 days; without any apologies or further explanation as to why the envelope was in France when I paid for a Singapore delivery.

The best USPS could presumably do at this point is deliver the envelope in Singapore on the 29th; which would make it 12 days or more in transit. You wonder why USPS is going out of business? I don't. I should have used FedEx, UPS or DHL and not still be wondering when my clients will get the material. I checked the tracking of my envelope online. The parcel number is ** and wish me luck. This week, she has held my package for ransom. She lied and said she put a notice on the door. But I was face-to-face with the crackhead on my porch and she was too busy talking on her cell phone through her Bluetooth to give me my mail. She all but walked off with my package and claimed that it was undeliverable.

Yesterday, she saw me standing on my porch and walked passed me. So I asked her if she had my package because online and customer service told me it would be delivered on Aug 27 (originally Aug 25).

On Wednesday, she even doubled back. Now that is low. After she looked me in my face and walked off my porch without giving me my mail, she had the nerve to double back and put a notice on my door. But her stupid boss won't do anything.

So I have been trying to free my package all week. Today is Aug 28. Someone (probably her), put my regular mail in the mailbox on the door. Yet, once again, my package is nowhere to be found! Isn't it a federal offense for someone to mess with someone's mail? I want to sue her and the Richmond City Post office. All customer service does is promise she will do her job and deliver my package. But every day she doesn't and every day I write a complaint on the website or call. But her supervisor says that she claims she didn't verbally attack my child who is a minor. And nothing was done.

I have been living at my address for four years and have received mail for an individual who doesn't live here more times than I can count. I've returned the mail with a note saying "Return to Sender" "No Such Person at This Address" "Please stop delivering mail for this person" and several variations along those lines.

Finally, I got fed up with the fact that my efforts did nothing to change the situation and decided to call the main USPS toll-free phone number to request that mail for this individual stops once and for all. The main office asked who does live at my address and I told them. They then said that they would make a note of it and continue to deliver my mail and contact the local carrier to make sure I didn't receive mail for this person anymore.

I then got a phone call from the local postmaster and again was asked who lived at my address and who I have been receiving mail for. The postmaster then said they have never received returned mail from my address (when it has happened a ridiculous amount of times!) and asked that I filled out a card stating who lives at my address.

Several days went by that I received my mail regularly and finally I got a card from the postmaster, filled it out and returned it. For several days after that, I received no mail at all except for a second card that I filled out again and put in the mail drop. A few more days went by with no mail being delivered and since I had a tracking number on a parcel that was being sent to me via priority mail, I saw that it had gone out for delivery but was never put into my mailbox.

I then called the local postmaster again and asked why I was not receiving mail at my address. The postmaster spent several minutes arguing with me and claiming that I never sent the card back as well as stating that I have never returned any mail to the sender due to an incorrect recipient name. Both of these statements were untrue and when I mentioned this, the postmaster said he would not deliver my mail until he received the card. I then requested to speak with his supervisor, the regional delivery supervisor, Stan **, and explained the situation to him letting him know that I did indeed return the cards and needed to receive my mail. Stan ** denied vehemently that I returned the two cards and literally called me a liar saying my claim that I had been receiving mail for an incorrect recipient was false and if I did not return the card, he would make sure my mail never got delivered. When I said I had returned two cards and wanted to know what could be done to make sure they were received by him as well as asking how I can get my mail today, I was even denied permission to come pick my mail up in person at the post office and was told that I was lying about returning them again.

Finally I mentioned to him that the main USPS office that I called originally had told me my mail would not discontinue. His words were, "I don't care!" Needless to say, I was shocked and on the verge of tears because of the blatant abuse of power and continued accusations of lying about returning several pieces of mail as well as the two cards I was asked to return. Stan **, the regional delivery supervisor, is refusing to deliver my mail or even let me pick it up!

How can this be legal? Why would I spend my time making up lies about mail that I have been receiving for someone who hasn't lived here in at least four years? I just want to receive my mail and now I have to worry and wonder if I ever will because somehow the postmaster and the regional supervisor have it in their minds that all of this is just a figment of my imagination! Stan ** also hung up on me while I was asking what can be done to ensure I received my mail and the words he used while hanging up were of blatant disrespect, abuse of power, and downright rude!

All I wanted was to stop getting mail for the one person who I have gotten mail for and returned since I moved in four years ago and somehow all of my efforts and everything I did that complied with what they asked have been completely useless! I can't even pick my own mail up at the post office!

As of 08/24/2011, I have not received the passport. Due to the urgent need, I filed another replacement passport at Reno Main and requested expedited process. The clerk working in the passport session suggested me to go to USPS Sierra office, which makes the delivery in our area. I talked to Al in the Sierra Office, and he stated that they don't compensate for lost mail unless it is insured even if it was caused by human error. The clerk at the main office admitted that due to the post office cut back, machines are now sorting the mails before they are delivered.

Ever since I moved to my new home on Feb 2010, there has been numerous occasion where I received mails that was intent to be delivered to different address. It is a common practice for me to check mail box and sort through the mails before the final disposition.

Based on the main office clerk's statement and other circumstantial evidence (receiving 3rd party's mails and a negative result on the passport delivery), I concluded that USPS is responsible for the lost of my passport, which has resulted from the human error.

She called next before I could asked her what need to be covered. I did not want to talk to her because she had too much attitude. I asked Jared (USPS worker) what need to be covered. Without looking at me, he "advertisement". My sister went to get the paper to cover the advertisement while I waited for her return.

I'm standing in the post office and I hear an outburst. I look to see if customers where arguing--it was actually the workers. Keisha was swearing to all of her colleagues about them being on their phones and having the customers waiting. All the staff thought she was a comedian while one informed her of her unprofessionalism and customers were watching and she said, "I do not give a damn who is watching you all get are my ** nerves".

All the workers decided to stop what they were doing except Jared to help Keisha who was being belligerent. While the line is near the door and with only Jared helping customers, I decided to ask him if we were going to get serviced. He said "yeah stand in line and wait". I said, "I am in line". He said, "Okay so wait for someone to call you next."

How could a group of workers leave customers waiting in line and take their time to return to work? At this point I was fed up with the two obnoxious workers who "helped" me that I decided to complain about this post office. Other customers began to tell me how the workers in the office are always rude to the customers.

I know this is a serious matter which should be corrected by management. There should be no use of profanity in the workplace nor should there be any outburst while dealing with customers. I'm a taxpayer and I, or anyone, don't deserve the terrible service I received on 13 August. We were told that the package would supposedly arrive on August 19 (within two days) to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Today, after six days, there was still no delivery. The post-office gives scenarios in which insurance or tracking wouldn't have helped anyway: a relief mailman may have delivered it to the wrong address so if the recipient is not honest, "my loss"; or, I may have misaddressed it, (which I did not) and again, if the recipient is not honest, it would be my loss. Oh well, garbage happens! In either scenarios, I asked, "Would tracking or insurance help?" The postal clerk said, "No. It would just show delivered." The box has not been rescanned and has come up missing. The carrier told her supervisor that she remembers the "padded envelope". However, this is a 200lb crush weight cardboard box. The next was a box going to the Ukraine via Priority Mail. It went to Venezuela. Customer service did not see an issue since the countries are close. Really? How close? The next issue was a box headed for Chile. It seemed to have never left Miami and it has been there for 2 weeks; also Priority Mail. My neighbor put my license in her mailbox on August 20th 2011 prior to her mail being delivered. After the mail was delivered, I went to her mailbox to retrieve my license but it was not there.

I contacted the Land O Lakes post office and spoke with Don on August 22nd at 8:30am. I asked if my license was there and/or what the procedure was. He was very rude and he said that they did not have licenses come in. I asked if he could please call me if it does so that I can pick it up but he said no and said that he would mail it. Then again, I asked if he could please call me and he said that he was too busy to do that. So for the third time, I begged him to call me and he said that he was very busy but asked to give him my number and he would try to call me. I did give him my phone number but I do not feel that he cared or was at all professional with me. I was very upset, clearly due to the circumstance.

As of today, no one has called me or advised me if the post office person has seen my license.

We filed a complaint about our mail carrier a couple of months ago because he had run over several of our solar lights and broken them. He contended that he had trouble reaching our box because of a vehicle we park, once in a while, in front of our home. The car is always parked at least 5' or more away from the box which makes the box completely accessible by us and the carrier. A postal supervisor/inspector came out to investigate the matter and personally informed me that the carrier should not be running up on our grass. He should not have broken the solar lights and should not have a problem reaching our box when the car is parked where it is.

We were sent a form for reimbursement for the solar lights which is fine but what is not fine is this carrier who continues to write on our mail "box blocked" if the car is ever parked in front of the house, and yet the mail is still delivered! First of all, how is he able to deliver the mail if the box is blocked? Second, this should no longer be an issue according to what the inspector told me! Why does this continue to go on? We want this resolved.

It is continually aggravating and emotionally upsetting. We never know what to expect from this carrier and we worry that our mail will not be delivered because of his pettiness which could cause problems for us financially if bills are not received timely.

My family and I have used this location for over a year since we moved to Columbia, S.C. Paul, the main guy who works there, has never been pleasant to deal with in the past. It hasn't been an issue until today when he insulted and bullied me all the way out of his USPS after I finished mailing a package over a question about shipping using media mail. I was screamed at by him and told never to enter the store again, among other more unpleasant statements. This isn't right and I didn't do anything wrong to deserve this treatment. He seemed to be having a bad day but this isn't a good excuse to correct a customer to the point where you are kicking them out of the store after they've paid.

I'm a 5'1 petite woman, barely weigh 105 lbs. and did not enjoy being screamed at by this man who says that I can't do anything about it because he is the manager and doesn't answer to anyone for his behavior.

As a result, I will be transferring all my mailing needs to UPS here on out, as well as my family and all the friends I can convince after sharing this very unnecessary and embarrassing event. A day of running errands turned into a very bad day for me in which I was seriously wondering what on earth I could have said so wrong that he reacted this way. I am still in shock.

I sent a priority package out on Friday, August 12th 2011 to Washington, D.C. The postal clerk assured me that the package should arrive that monday. When finding out that the package never showed, I waited two more days before going to the post office to see if they can track it. At that time, I couldn't find my receipt. Although I didn't have the receipt, the post office should have a copy, but they didn't. I found the receipt three days later. Now, the clerk is saying that she couldn't help me because there's no tracking advice on the receipt.

I truly believe that because I had packaged it at the postal office and they knew what it was, it was stolen. Being prior military, I've had more than my fair share of stolen package. It's not enough that they payback the money because some things are not replaceable.

I think it is time for people to start investigating these postal offices for it is a federal offense for stolen or tampered mail. Why not investigate the postal service? If it was just a civilian stealing or tampering with mail, people should be ready to throw the book at them. It's an unresolved issue that need to be handled.

And they said that they aren't held to the guarantee since the carrier went to the resident hall and couldn't find a person. I called back to lodge a complaint. I was told that on their complaint line, they don't take complaints. And I was told to call consumer affairs, which isn't open until Monday. I ordered a very nice dress belt online. USPS shipped it. In the tracking details, it says delivered. However, I never received it. I called USPS. It was nearly impossible to talk to an actual person. It gives you absolutely no option to talk to a representative. To me, that is no customer service. When I finally tricked the computer into connecting me to a representative, the only information she could give me was the tracking information. And I had more information on my tracking list than she did. Then I asked for her manager to complain about the difficulties. He gave me all kinds of excuses why they have so little information on the tracking. So, I told him that if they can't help me with my problem, they must refund my shipping. He told me I have to take that up with the people I ordered from. Once again, it was absolutely no help.

I'm not surprised to see how many complaints there are against USPS, saying the exact thing I'm saying. They are incompetent. They offer very little help, and some are thieves. Needless to say, I'll never get the package or money back. I will never get something shipped to my doorstep without a signature. And I will never use USPS again if I have a say in it. My carrier needs training. He keeps putting items in my neighborhood group box that are too big for the box! Apparently, he does not understand that the side he puts mail in is larger than the side the customer takes mail out. Therefore, the item cannot be removed. He also enjoys jamming so much in the box that the key will not turn. On the 18th, I left a note on the box. I sent a complaint by email. And I went to my local PO. I was assured by the supervisor at my local PO that my mail would be hand delivered to me on the 19th. That did not happen! I was expecting two important packages. One is a very sensitive dive computer. Now they are both jammed into my tiny mailbox in 106 degree heat and quite possibly ruined. This carrier does this at least once a month. I have had damaged books many times. I have also had items I could not get out, until I leave a note for him to do something.

This needs to stop! If this is happening to me, just think of the thousands of other customers out there! It's total carelessness! And you wonder why the USPS is in trouble? I worked for the USPS then in 1970's for 10 years. We never treated customers this way. This carrier just does not care. I have placed another notice on my group boxes in hopes this guy will bring me my mail. I have also filed a complaint: Case #**. Please do something.

This is my fourth complaint to USPS, and nothing has been resolved yet. I have made two complaints directly to my local office, and this will be my second online complaint.

All of the local grocery stores have their weekly ads delivered by mail, which I used to receive on Tuesday or Wednesday before I moved here. I have, on occasions, received my ads on Wednesday, but usually on Thursday. On many occasions I don't receive my ads until Friday, which is the case this week.

After many conversations with the local office I have been told that they have until Thursday to deliver these ads, (so why don't they do it) but I am told that they have requested route changes, but nothing has been done yet. This has been going on for almost a year now.

My mail is never delivered before 4:00 pm, and sometimes as late as 5:45 plus. By the time I receive the ads they are almost expired, as they run from Wednesday to Tuesday the following week. With me getting my mail after 4:00 PM, that does not give me much time to take advantage of the ads as my days off are Wednesday and Thursday. I would appreciate it if this problem could be resolved.

On 8/4/2011, I ordered Bingo supplies from Novelty House Bingo Supply in the amount of $79.21. I received the confirmation and they received my order. The next day, 8/5/11, it was shipped through USPS. I haven't had a chance to really read my emails until yesterday, 8/17/11. I thought it was kind of funny for the items to be taking so long to be delivered since it was sent priority mail, and my granddaughter has been waiting patiently for these items.

When I did opened and read my emails, I checked the tracking number to see when and if it was sent out. Not only was it shipped, they claimed that it was delivered 8/8/11 at 11 am. Well, this is where the nightmare begins. I called the company, Novelty Bingo Supply, to let them know I did not receive items purchased. I spoke with a woman by the name of Margaret. She advised me to call USPS to find out where they delivered items were. I asked her wouldn't it be better if they heard from their company. She said they will call, but after getting off the phone with her, I decided to call my post office and finally got through after 15 minutes of the line being busy and spoke with Ms.**, the supervisor.

I explained to her the issue. She asked me to hold while she checked whatever she was going to check. She got back on the phone, after a few minutes and asked if I had a tracking number. I gave that to her and she asked me to hold once again. This time, when she got back on the phone, she said that she had the postal carrier there. She proceeded to tell me that the postal worker did indeed deliver a box that fit a book and that she remembered someone cutting a tree outside our house. Well, that's funny because there are no trees or shrubs of any kind around my house. Then, Ms. ** asked me if I had a gate. I told her, "Yes, I have a gate in my backyard." She asked if I had one in the front, I told her no, so she said that the postal worker would check to see where she might have delivered the box.

Well, she showed up at my door like 15 minutes after I got off the phone with her supervisor, and she proceeded to tell me that she had a few packages delivered in the neighborhood that day. Only this time, she said that she remembers putting a bag type package in my mailbox. Now, we go from items in a box to being packaged in some sort of bag. Someone is lying and it is not me. We have been waiting for these items to be delivered. My granddaughters, 9 and19, bring my mail in everyday and they have no reason to lie. We are not that kind of family.

I sent an email to the Bingo Company on 8/17/11 to let Margaret know I did call the post office and what happened and what was said. Today, when I got home from work, there was a message on my phone from Margaret, stating that she also talked with Ms. ** and that she told her what they were trying to tell me, that the package was delivered. Then, Margaret tells me that maybe I should check the neighborhood myself to see about a tree and so forth. Well, you know what? I am not a postal carrier and I think the post office should be held accountable for delivering my package to somewhere else. Why is it my responsibility to look where she may have delivered this? For all I know, it could be in another area.

Well, I either want my money back, or I want the items purchased resent to me at the post office expense. When is anyone going to be held accountable for their mistakes? I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter and would like a response to this email.

    Thank You,

    Catherine

After checking my bank statement and seeing that the check had not cleared, I could only surmise that it had never reached its destination, as well as another check that was mailed the same day.

On August 3, I called the phone number listed in my phone book for the postal service. I spoke with a representative, given a case number and told that someone would contact me within two days. No one called. After waiting for a week, I again placed a call to the postal service. Once again, I was given a case number and was told that someone would contact me within two days. No one called.

Today, August 18, I again called the postal service. This time, I was given a phone number for the Mid Carolina Dept. of Consumer Affairs for the postal service. I called and spoke to someone by the name of Patricia. I could tell immediately that Patricia did not want to hear my complaint because she would not stop talking long enough for me to register my complaint.

When I was finally able to tell her why I was calling, she informed me that there was no way to track first class mail. I understand this. I did not want it tracked. Had she stopped talking long enough and listened, she would have learned exactly why I was calling. All I wanted from her and the other employees of the postal service was someone to listen to my complaint and try to understand why I was so upset. Why can't these people do what they are paid to do? I don't know where these people receive their training but I believe they need a refresher course on how to treat consumers, especially people who pay their salaries.

At 4 p.m. E.T. on July 29, 2011, I went to the Ben Hill Post office to mail two boxes from Atlanta to California because I am moving to go to college. Each box weighed 50 lbs. One box had clothes, jackets, and shoes on it and the other box had my PlayStation 3, HERO system, pictures, scrapbooks, shoes, together with my cap and gown from high school.

On Monday, August 15, 2011, one of the two boxes was received. The box I received was not the box I shipped. It had my information written on it but it was not my handwriting. It was a box full of maxi pads, pantie hose, Armor All tire stuff although I did have my cap and gown in it. So, someone opened my box to put the cap and gown in this box, which was not mine. The box was much smaller and could not have weighed anywhere near 50 lbs.

When I shipped my boxes, I inquired about placing insurance on my package but was told by the clerk that I could not put insurance on them if I couldn't provide receipts to show what was in the boxes. So now, one of my boxes is missing and I'm sitting with a box that I didn't ship.

I contacted the post office to file a claim on July 17th. I attempted to do it prior than that but the system was down at the post office. The claim representative explained that she would forward it along to the appropriate investigation area. It would be a 90-day investigation and if they could not recover my contents, then there was nothing they could do because I didn't have insurance.

What happened was unacceptable because I tried to put insurance on my boxes; it was the clerk who told me not to. I now believe that this is an internal job. Why would someone lie about their policy?

Right now, I am in California with just the clothes I was able to bring in my suitcase. I have minimal clothes, a few pairs of shoes and no jackets. The bulk of my belongings were in the packages. If the postal service is unable to recover my stuff, I will have almost nothing. I'm due to start school on August 29, 2011 so I'm not currently working. No income is available to replace my stuff.

Then I go to court with six witnesses saying that the mail man lied when the dog did nothing of such. Needless to say, I was taking it to trial and I ended up winning. The carrier refused to deliver my mail until I got a box on the street, so I did, and still nothing. I sat on my porch, called his name, but he still walked past me. Another time my door was open and I had a screen; it was another excuse.

I feel this has become out of control and because it is a business of the government, they feel they can do and wish as they want. Well reality check is, I am the person who will face them and put up a fight. Yesterday and the day before, the mail carrier said that he will stop mail if my dog does not stop jumping on the fence. Mind you this is a whole separate dog and jumping on a fence, give me a break. So I called and complained to a supervisor. I did not sign a thing for service to resume, all the mail carrier did was write this on a scrap piece of paper.

So next day, I locked my second dog up, which is now called dog cruelty because all my dogs are caged 24/7. The mail carrier does not deliver saying that even though I listened, he still was not delivering my mail. Bottom line is, he didn't because I filed a compliant on him. I did as he asked and he intentionally did not deliver. I asked him and he was rude and said that he wasn't until he spoke with his supervisor. I already did that, and so did he.

I have filed complaints with other people and nothing has been done. I want to know who I go to get this straightened out, sue someone, or whatever it takes, I will do it.

Four days later, August 16th, nobody has called and I see it has gone back to Phoenix. I called customer service again and speak to a very nice man and he said that he will put another tracker on it and gave me another confirmation number. He also told me to call Consumer Industry Affairs because somebody wasn't doing their job.

The next morning, I got a call from Sondra, in Denver, and she said that she will put a note to try to flag it in Denver but there is no way to flag it in Phoenix. Apparently the zip code has been transposed, either by me or the post master and it was going around in circles. I called Consumer Affairs and a woman named Anna called me back. I explained what was going on and she basically said they are doing all they can. She said that if I made a mistake on the zip then it would be flagged. I told her that no matter who made the mistake, I would have been perfectly happy if they would have returned it to me on the 8th when they discovered it was wrong zip. Instead, it has gone back and forth from Phoenix to Denver several times and nobody is able to get it.

I am visibly upset by now and asked her how many times it would go back and forth from Phoenix to Denver before somebody gets it? Would it be twenty years or what. She said that it would eventually get damaged and then somebody would pull it and flag it. What the heck, you've got to be kidding me. Thanks for nothing Anna. This is ridiculous. There are four medications for my elderly parents in this box and this is the response I get.

Sondra, from Denver, told me that next time I send something like that, I should send it express because that is all hand-held.

When I spoke to the supervisor this morning of 16th of August, my package was there at the station and was told that due to my having complex mailing issues, they couldn't hold anything. When I called them, they never said no such thing. I have been missing items from this post office since May 13 when I moved in.

Please have this resolved before I go to a higher-up like in Washington DC.

On August 10, 2011 at 12:11 P.M., I went to the West Farms postal location to mail out certified letters. Clerk 12 asked me how I wish to pay the $11.18. I informed her debit card and I would like $20 cash back (which brings my total to $31.18). I swiped my debit and entered my pin number. She told me the system was freezing, so swipe again. I told her no because I had already swiped once and entered my pin number and I did not want to be charged. I proceeded to tell her I will just pay cash (I basically paid twice--once by debit because my account was charged and once by cash). She said then I will cancel the debit transaction and not to worry my debit was not charged.

I pulled out my iPhone to check my account in front of her and I told her I was charged. She disagreed! I called my bank, ING, and they informed me I was definitely charged because I entered my pin number and ING said they would gladly speak to her to let her know I was charged the $31.18.

She called over her supervisor who told me she had to call the banking department and to come back later that day because that incident never happened to them before.

I called back later that same day and clerk 12 told me: "My supervisor told me to take your information down and she will call you the next business day." I never received a call.

Also, on August 10, 2011, I called 1800-ask-usps and made a complaint and spoke to a supervisor. She informed me they truly were sorry and someone will return my call within two business days (by August 12, 2011). I never received a call by the end of business day on August 12, 2011. So I called 1800-ask-usps again, I think a little before 5 and a supervisor by the name of Jamie told me I should still receive a call that evening.

It is now August 15, 2011. I never received a call from West Farms post office or from anyone @1800-ask-usps. I was never reimbursed my money and I have my account statement to prove I indeed was charged, threw my debit, and I have my receipt to prove I also paid cash.

This is so unprofessional of USPS to not investigate this and return my funds and I am totally angry.

I then proceeded to ask a person behind the counter for help. The office clerk told me, "I'm on this side I can't help you!" I then asked for the 800 number, she refused to give me the number. She ignored my request.

I keep calling and it is either the line is busy or they put me on hold and forget they have someone on hold and hang up. When finally I did speak to Mr. Chris **, he said that the computer was down, after waiting on hold for a good half hour. He took my information down and said he would call me. That did not happen. I ended up calling him again. He did help me at one point and said that my mail will be sent to my address but, sure enough, I still haven't received any mail.

This has been going on and on. I have also contacted the other post office and they gave me the phone number to the correct post office, which is the one I have been trying to contact for almost a month. I finally spoke to Mr. ** on Wednesday, August 10. The number, which you can try yourself, is either busy or they forget about you when they put you on hold.

Christie placed me on hold, returned then asked, “Didn’t you ask the mail lady to hold your mail?” I informed her that I wasn’t familiar with a mail lady. In a very sarcastic voice, she informed me that the mail man was on vacation. I informed her that I find it odd that I don’t receive my mail when the regular mail clerk is on vacation. She informed me that she found "some" of my mail from the EDD but, in her words, there isn’t any check in here!

I asked if I can pick the mail up today and she stated, “You can only pick up today and today only!” I asked what happens to the mail after today and she said it will be held here then returned to the sender. I released the call!

On June 1, I moved to a new address within the same town in which I was currently living. On June 6, I submitted a change of address form to the USPS in the same town. Around June 13, I went to my old address to check my mail since I was currently renting the old and new places for June, so I could more easily move. I found a bundle of mail secured with a rubber band, and a change of address verification form. The form said to do nothing if this is correct, so I did nothing. I attend school full-time over the summer, and had failed to notice that I was not receiving any mail, despite the fact I had changed some of my old addresses by talking to the business direct.

It is now August 8, and I finally got what may amount to some form of answer. My normal route carrier was on vacation during that week; failed to complete the address forwarding when he returned, and my mail for the past two months had been delivered to my old address was the explanation I received. I was a little upset, so I hung up, and waited around thirty minutes to relax before calling back to verify the story. I got the name of the route carrier, and informed the individual on the phone from the main branch that I was going to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs, and to the post master general; since any other "legal" action seemed to be a waste of time due to the post office's sovereign status.

Once I informed them of this, they began to quickly back pedal and change their story, as to why it had been a problem. Suddenly, I may have been the one who did not do what they were supposed to have done. I pointed out that they had informed me that they had found my change of address request in their computer system, and verified that I had done what was required for a successful change of address during the first phone call. They never explained why I was not receiving mail from businesses and individuals who had been using my new address, which required no more work in the post office's part than a normal mail sort.

The failure to deliver is sporadic and limited to random items. The mail I do not receive is correctly addressed but is "returned to sender" as undeliverable to my address. I have gotten several different explanations for why the delivery failed, first they said it was because a new carrier was assigned to my route and I had to speak directly with my carrier whom I could never contact as he was always on his route. As the problem continued, I was told that it was my apartment building's fault. I was told that the management failed to submit a list of verified occupants to ensure delivery. The last explanation is probably more correct, I have been told that there was a sorter machine installed in May of 2010 that has a problem with returning mail, at random, as undeliverable when it is actually addressed correctly. I am still having this problem. It is chronic and persistent and I would like to know how to escalate this issue to a higher level.

Our outgoing mail was not always picked up when incoming items were dropped off, our suite was not serviced on a consistent and daily basis, and our incoming mail items were regularly delivered to the incorrect suite. Following my calls to customer service, we have experienced a change in mail carrier but only one service issue has been resolved.

Our mail is now being picked up when it is dropped off. However, in the last month and a half the mail carrier failed to visit our suite on four separate occasions, and did not arrive until after 5:00pm on another day, that's after our office was closed so I did not receive the mail and they could not come in to deliver. In addition, our mail was delivered to the wrong suite at least once a week during this time period. We also received nine mail items that were not ours and were clearly addressed to a different business. There are only three tenants in the building so there is really no excuse for the confusion.

On 8/5/11 (Friday), I was sending a package (laptop) to my husband overseas. I packaged the box up, had all the paperwork (customs form) filled out, and it was ready to go. I took the package in, got up to the counter, placed the package on counter, and handed to the employee the customs, at which time she sees that it is a laptop. She tells me that she cannot send it because it was not packaged properly. Then she proceeded to tell me that I needed to take my package to UPS and they would package and send it for me.

Extremely frustrated, because I have 3 kids under the age of 3 with me, I took my package back home, put the merchandise in a new box and took it to UPS. I explained to the employee behind the desk what had happened and that I was told to come to their store to send my package. She politely said, "Okay, I can handle this for you." She took my package in the back to fill with peanuts and taped the box up. When the employee came back out, my laptop was in a completely different box and she explained that she had to change the box that I had because I couldn't use a flat rate box. Not knowing any better, since this is my first time sending a package overseas, I said "Okay."

She weighed the box and typed some things into her computer screen and said that my total was going to be $38 and some cents. I was under the impression that this was for packaging, shipping, and postage. She also told me that my husband would have the package by this week. I was glad to pay the $38 since it was safely packaged and it was going to be shipped out immediately. This was not the case! At the end of everything I did not receive a receipt for my charges and she very slowly walked back to the store as if everything was all done and over with. I smiled, said thank you and walked out. I was not happy with the service at all.

First thing this morning (8/8/2011) I called and complained of the service and the manager explained that they do not send the packaging, that their employees take those types of packages to the UPSP and the post office sends them. So, my question was, "Why did I just pay you 40 bucks to send my package and was told my husband would receive it this week? The manager apologized and said there was some miscommunication. Obviously! He told me to call the post office and ask if they had sent out my package yet because he had confirmed that it was now in their care. I called the post office and the manager there said that she had no records showing that my package was with them. **. I swear these people are a bunch of **.

I explained the entire situation to the manager and she told me that my package was indeed brought in this morning and it was paid for to be sent the slow way. Six to eight (6-8) weeks from now is the soonest it will get to him. Are you kidding me? I just paid 40 bucks for this package to get to my husband this week and you're telling me I have 6-8 weeks before it will get to him. So, now I have to pay an additional 10 bucks for this package to possibly get to him by next week. There is no reason why I should have to pay over 50 bucks for this package to not be delivered to my husband in 2, 3, 4, 8, or 12 weeks down the road.

I believe that all the these employees need to be fired and new ones should be hired, and maybe they should get some employees that actually care about their jobs and do it efficiently and not have little 16 and 17 year old in there who is only worried if they got kissed at school today. **! The most recent incident is today. At the end of July, at the USPS online site, I requested my mail be forward for two weeks. I received a confirmation number. A week later, I received a confirmation letter at my home as did my friends at the address to which I was to have my mail forwarded.

I was late leaving my home today, August 6, the first day the forwarding was to begin, and found my mail was delivered at my home address despite the request and confirmations. Earlier this year, twice, I had put on holds for my mail. On each of those occasions, I arrived home a day early and found my mail had been delivered all week. I called the PO and got a runaround, first from a woman named Jessica, who said the delivery person claimed the hold orders were not received until the day after I was to have returned. Jessica told me, on two separate occasions, that she would call me back with further information. She failed to do so.

I called Vivian at Consumer Affairs for the PO (858-674-2670) and she soon returned my call, saying the supervisor at that PO, Heidi, would call me back within 24 hours. She failed to do so. I called the PO and left a message. Three days later, I was finally able to call and get Heidi on the line. She was very busy passing the buck, saying Jessica had little to do with that PO, she worked at another, that she, Heidi, always put in changes the day of the change and that she would speak to the carrier, but I would have to call her the next time this happened.

So, when I called today to ask for Heidi, I was told she was not at work. I was told that, at the end of the day, whoever I was speaking with would have my carrier call me. I said I wasn't going to be home because I was leaving town, which was the reason the forwarding was put in place from the beginning. She said I wasn't allowing her to speak to anybody about the problem and hung up on me. I called the main PO phone number and they seemed concerned. They said they would try to have the problem dealt with on Monday or Tuesday, which was already well into my two weeks.

The people at the Palm Desert PO in charge of holding and forwarding mail have been completely inefficient and utterly rude. In each case, I've had confirmation numbers but the confirmations have meant nothing. When my mail was being delivered rather than held, it could have been stolen. Now, as I'm about the leave today, I don't know what is going to happen. I need to deal with my mail. I need it forwarded and stopped on the dates requested and confirmed.

The people at this PO take no responsibility and just pass the buck. They should not be holding the jobs of trust they do. Not simply because they are rude and hung up on people, but because they aren't doing their jobs. Is there nobody at the PO supervising incompetent supervisors? Does the buck stop anywhere?

For the last 4 weeks I have not received my Pennysaver and all market and local vendor coupon advertisements. Market advertisement always arrived on Tuesday for the Wednesday specials. The Pennysaver is always here on Wednesdays. Where are they and why am I not receiving them. I can not get anyone down at the Post Office to give me any answers about when this is going to straighten up. They (Alma and Ernesto) both claiming to be the supervisor, say they are going to deliver these items to my address, but each week I have to call to no avail. These items have my address on them. Is there no consequence for holding my mail???? They say they are going to deliver it and only once in the last 4 weeks has this occurred. I need these coupons and I use the Pennysaver for ads also. When is this situation going to correct itself? I had one occasion not so long ago when my mail was held in some invisible place for over a month and my bills were late as a result. The post office had to write letters to take responsiblity for the mess so my credit was not damaged.

Please tell me what's going on.

I placed an order for a piece of jewelry for my mom's birthday on 7/18. The vendor sent it to me via first class mail. When I checked the tracking number, it just said it left the Indianapolis hub on 7/19. Around 8/1, I called the main number and they said they had no record of the package. I called my local post office in Lindenhurst, NY and they said they couldn't track the package for 30 days. I filed a complaint with the Inspector General and just got a form e-mail from Kathryn **, the supervisor at the Lindenhurst post office with a generic apology that basically just said sometimes they lose stuff. No accountability at all.

The mail carrier marked my package that required a signature "Return to Sender, not deliverable as addressed". It went back to Hong Kong because the residence, a river camp, did not have a "mail receptacle".

The carrier could not have left it in the box anyway since it needed a signature. They would not even leave a note explaining why they would not deliver the package and give me a chance to pick it up at the office.

I have retaliated by having all of my mail delivered by Internet where possible and plan to cancel my P.O. box as soon as the contract expires. USPS is hurting due to their concern for rules enforcement and lack of concern for customer service. UPS and Fed Ex will try hard to deliver a package and the USPS will drive right by your house chuckling at you for not knowing their silly rules and then send your package back halfway around the world while making you pay triple freight.

An express mail was sent on Friday, July 22, 2011, around 9 a.m. from the Lanham MD post office. The package was being shipped to American Airlines at DFW Airport in Texas. The notice was left on Saturday, July 23, 2011, but no other updates regarding the package have been documented.

I have called the USPS 800 number at least four times, but no one can help. I was referred to your office. The package has yet to be returned to me. If delivery could not be made, the package is supposed to be returned to the sender in five days. I did not get the service I was promised. I want my money back. The tracking number is EG 938224444US.

Pleasant Garden Baptist Church does mail outs for different events to our surrounding community. Upon completing a particular mail out, we went to Pleasant Garden post office, completed the forms for a "Saturation Letter", paid $797.18 and were told to take the mail-outs to the correct post offices per their zip code.

We have been doing this for 15 years and the only post office we ever have trouble with is Spring Valley. Upon entering the Spring Valley post office with the mail out, before even saying a word or being able to sit the mail out on the counter, Mary gruffly said they did not take the mail out and we would have to go to the drop off center. We tried to explain to her that we have done this many times before and tried to show her the form where we had already paid for the service. She refused to listen to any explanation we had and would not even look at the form.

We asked her to call the PG post office and speak to them so they could explain, but she refused. After listening to her yell for several minutes and not allowing us to get a word in, we simply left the mail out on the desk and started to walk out. She said she would throw everything in the trash. We said if she threw the mail out in the trash, we would need to be reimbursed for the payment we had made. She said she didn't care and she was going to throw everything away regardless.

We left and called the PG post office to let them know what had just happened to make sure we had done everything we were supposed to do. We were told that they would try to take care of it and we had done everything correctly. The form we completed is Part C, Section C16(Entry DSCF). The postage statement we completed was PS Form 3602-N1, June 2011. For the drop shipment, we used PS Form 8125, a Plant Verified Drop Shipment(PVDS) Verification and Clearance Form.

This kind of behavior should simply not be tolerated. For a postal employee to treat a customer in this manner is simply unacceptable. We would appreciate something be done immediately. If you have any questions, you can also contact Donna ** at the Pleasant Garden post office. She was also treated very rudely by Mary and said she would also be filing a complaint.

Your help is much appreciated. We do regret having to make a complaint, but feel it is necessary. Thank you.

I attempted to have an item shipped via USPS Priority Mail with the "Hold for Pickup" option to my local PO center.

After ordering online, I watched my tracking number like a hawk until I saw that it arrived at the PO center that I sent it to. "Success!", I thought. I figured I would then drive down there and simply pick it up. When I got there after work, they looked around for maybe 15 minutes before they said they couldn't find it and told me it must have been sent out for delivery to my house (the opposite of my request.) I got the manager's number and went home.

It wasn't at my house. So I looked up my tracking number again, I saw that the PO center had forwarded it to an invalid zip code (one in a mountain?) which had the code 'Undeliverable as addressed.' I called the managers number several times but it just rang -- no answer or voice mail. I then looked up the number on Google for his office, but when I called, it was always busy.

I then called 1800-ask-usps. Their automated line couldn't understand anything I said, and wanted me to provide it with a tracking number. When I gave it a tracking number, it had no information and suggested I contact the local PO office, for which I had already given up trying to reach. It took maybe 30 minutes to finally get someone on the phone at the 1800 number (a combination of pressing 0 and saying 'customer service'.) The guy at the number said the package had 'probably' been forwarded back to the sender.

I emailed the sender to let them know it might have bounced back to them, and continued watching the tracking number. I saw it was forwarded from the invalid zip code to another local PO center downtown. I called that office hoping I could pick it up there, but they were unable to tell me where the package was or where it was going. The lady said the package had come in and that they "got rid of it" due to the invalid zip, but that was all she could determine using their computer system. It was either out for delivery, forwarded to another center, or returned to sender.

So at this point, I've driven down to my local USPS where I tried to have it shipped. I've tried to call them. I've tried to call their manager. I've emailed them. I've called the main number. And I've spoken with the center downtown. None of them could tell me where my package was or where it was going. My cell phone number is listed on the package, but they haven't tried to reach me. It just seems so inefficient.

I suspect I'll eventually get my package after USPS stops forwarding it around and it returns to sender. Then we can try again with UPS or FedEx.

If you ever need a document sent international, DO NOT use International Express Mail even if at the US post office branch, they mark it as extremely urgent because that doesn't mean anything. A waste of 30 bucks. Sent an international express 2-page document from NJ to Philippines and up to now, the "extremely urgent document" has not reached its destination, 7 business days later. For $30 bucks? this is poor business. Almost like a scam. What do you do?

The employee who waited on me had long blond hair and glasses. Her name is Stella. During my transaction and the transactions of other customers, she was consistently and unnecessarily rude and combatant.

I quietly finished my transaction, and as I was leaving she noticed my unhappiness with her abrasive and threatening attitude. She became belligerent and hollering at my back, "Ma'am, do you have a problem?"

Slightly shaken, I calmly continued out the door without saying a word. I got in my vehicle and left without further incident.

I shipped a package internationally via USPS's Click-N-Ship on their website, estimating the package at 39 lbs, 6 oz. The package was brought back to me two days later, with a note-- stating that the weight was off by 2 lbs.

I filed a refund for the label online; printed out another label, with a weight that exceeded what they told me it weighed, just to be safe, so this wouldn't happen again.

USPS's website states that refunds can take up to 14 days, and after 13 days. I received an email telling me that my label was not eligible for refund, because the label had been scanned into their system already (even though they brought it back to me).

I called their customer service today, and explained the situation. The representative told me there was nothing he could do. Once the label is scanned, you can't receive a refund, even though it was never sent to the destination.

How was I supposed to know that my weight was off by 2 lbs, when I don't have an industrial weight scale? Nor do I care to pay a large amount for one.

If I would have shipped with UPS or FedEx, they would have just billed me for the extra weight, which is what I assumed USPS would do, but no. There is no way to add postage to a package that already had a label printed out for it; nor will they refund you money.

Right now, I've ended up paying nearly $500 to ship a package that should've only cost $250, and USPS is telling me there's nothing I can do?

It was a horrible customer service.

I was contacted by a local District Manager (who I'm assuming is from USPS, he never stated that in his voicemail), and I am currently waiting for him to call me back.

Hopefully, I can get this all straightened out, but the amount of hoops you have to jump through to get things handled the way they should've been the first time is absolutely astonishing!
