The post office in Franklin, VT stated that they delivered our missing package on 12/17/2011 at 11:24 by leaving it on the ground below the mailbox. The item was ordered from Amazon and the information is as follows: Order# 104-2815219-5375456 with a tracking ID# 9101900007540980389728. As a result, the package has apparently been lost/stolen. The Franklin, VT Post Office does not have a confirmed policy on where to leave packages. It is at the discretion of the customer.

I had the Post Office pull my information card and it clearly indicated to have all packages left on the front porch of our residence, the reason being that the mailbox is 1/3 of a mile from the house. I am requesting compensation for the lost item which totaled $29.48. I feel that the Franklin, VT Post Office was negligent by not either placing the package on my front porch (per customer indication) or simply leaving a note in my mail box for me to pickup at a later date.

I mailed my passport to a family friend in New York from Lawton, OK on 12/19/2011. It’s been 3 days and the package still hasn’t arrived. I have to get my visitation visa and it’s going to take 1-3 days to get the visa. My trip and flight has already been bought, costing over a thousand dollars and will have to be cancelled due to the snail-mail speed of EMS. What is the use of refunding me 18 dollars when they just cost me a thousand? Contacting them was no use either. No one can tell me an exact delivery date or location of my mail. I cancelled a flight that cost a thousand dollars due to the snail speed of EMS.

The USPS is over budget because your rates are too low! Raise your rates. It should cost at least $0.75 to send a letter and raise all shipping and junk mail fees. If people don't like higher rates, they can use more email, or go to UPS, which is higher still. Simple.

Can someone in post office help me with this DC status? I shipped a priority mail package from NY to IL on 12-10-2011. It reached IL 4 days later, but the status is stuck with "status not updated" since that day. It's been almost 1 week. I emailed to USPS site with my problem/ inquiry. I didn't hear anything from them at all. I called USPS again, and they gave me a CA number. No ones call me back. So, what happened to this package (0190 0007 5409 8289 9102)? I can't confirm with my buyer, if they received it. It's a Christmas figurine, supposed to be delivered last week. Where the ** is it? It's still missing. No info, and no status update. No one ever calls about what happened to it.

Local Southlake, TX USPS held a package that included a check for over $2,000 for almost a month after they were supposed to have notified me of its arrival. I contacted the sender and they advised their USPS office confirmed that the Southlake office still had it. I tried to call and confirm they still had it so I could pick it up. A worker rudely advised me they cannot check via my name or address, only a tracking number. How terrible is our USPS. No wonder they are going out of business!

USPS should stop selling the "signature required" service if they are not going to actually require a signature. Service has always been uneven where some carriers just leave a slip and make no attempt to deliver, which really inconveniences my customer. A customer returned a package to me and requested a signature and the carrier just left it in my mail box (in NC), but showed a signature being left, late in the afternoon past our regular delivery time. So my customer thought I was not telling the truth about not having the package. When she and I discussed this, we discovered that the postal carrier on her end in CA did the same thing when I sent it out signature required. My postal carrier(s) is inept as at least once a week, mail gets slipped under my door due to being delivered to the wrong box; there are maybe 10 boxes.

I have a certain product combination that only fits in the large flat rate box, but the actual priority postage per pound is cheaper. 100 times I have used the cheaper postage and covered up "flat rate" with priority stickers. The last time, they returned it to my box, which is ridiculous as I then wrapped it in brown paper and sent it out again. If they want to protect their jobs, they should provide good customer service and they should not steal from their customers as they are doing with the signature required ripoff. And, if you try getting them on the phone, that won't happen. They should go out of business for the poorest, non responsive customer service around. Further, in the South, they seem not not take job very seriously. I left packages at post office midday that didn't show up in the system until the next day. This is just wrong.

On more than one occasion, my mail has been lost at the USPS Nandino Sorting Center on Nandino Drive in Lexington, KY. My first experience this year was a priority mail package with delivery confirmation tracking. Anticipated delivery time was less than 4 days, and it was lost for 4 weeks. I don't think it ever would have been found, without the help of my local Frankfort, KY postal employees networking with those in Lexington. Now, another lost package. It was never scanned by the personnel at the Nandino Sorting-Distribution Center in Lexington, KY. It was last scanned, when the Frankfort, KY post office put it on the truck, destined for the Nandino Sorting Center in Lexington, KY, and lost.

No one even knows if my package, mailed on 12/12/11, is outside of Kentucky. It is supposed to be in Louisiana, with an anticipated delivery date of 12/17/11. Today is 12/21/11.

On December 21, 2011, I checked the mail at our rural mail box. Inside was a notice that a package was too big to fit in our box. Last year I had been instructed by the postmaster in Newkirk, NM 88431 to make a box that would accommodate a large package. The box currently is next to our mailbox. We have also given the postmaster our phone number so she could call and we could meet the mail carrier if necessary. My wife made a 12 mile round trip on an icy road to pick up a package (flat 14 1/2 X 13) that not only would fit in the large box, but could have been rolled and fit into our regular mail box.

My father recently sent me his old iPhone via USPS. I'm in Germany, and when I went to the German customs office to pick it up, the box had already been opened and re-taped, and the iPhone was gone. All that remained was the green tape used to repackage it, the material used to cushion the phone, and a note from my mother. Additionally, there was a note from German customs attached to the package stating that, they had scanned the box, and that it was empty upon arrival. It passed through the processing center in Jamaica, Queens in NY, on its way to Germany.

I don't have the phone, and my parents lost the money paid to ship it. I had been counting on this to use in my studies, as I have city-wide internet, and need to record classes, to review them afterwards, as my German is not perfect. Thanks random worker, that had the audacity to take what did not belong to him/her, from the hands of a very poor student.

I mailed a package of Christmas gifts. My original address label was removed from the box and attached to a completely different box and mailed to my recipient. No sign of my original box and contents. I mailed a package from Wilmington, DE to Moorpark, CA on December 9. I mailed the package via parcel post from the UPS Store at 2207 Concord Pike, Wilmington DE 19803. Yesterday, December 19, the recipient received a package with my original label on it but taped to a different box from the one I used. Inside were an assortment of gifts and items totally different from the ones I sent. The box had originally contained two floral-print photo boxes labeled Mabel and Anna, each containing craft supplies for little girls (one with beading supplies and one with sewing supplies).

Instead the box contained old Mary Kay cosmetics, a secondhand fleece jacket, and gift bags labeled Jenny, Josh, and Aunt Sissy. None of my original gifts were there and I never sent any of the items received. The recipient said that it looked as though my address label had been sliced off and reattached to the new box.

I did not get a tracking number when shipping the box as I mistakenly believed I was shipping through UPS due to misinformation from the UPS Store. I spent over $20 to mail this package and the gifts inside were worth about $60 but even more in sentimental terms. I am extremely upset that someone apparently opened the box, stole my items, and sent someone else's gifts to my recipient. Two families are now missing gifts because of this.

I have been waiting on a package to be delivered to me from the People's Republic of China. The estimated delivery date was at the end of November. I have been tracking my package through their web site for a long while now, wondering why it was taking more than a month to receive my merchandise. Fortunately, I found an alternate tracking site that linked me to the carrier that would handle the package once it came stateside. Unfortunately, that carrier was the USPS. They have had my package since Dec 9th. They claim to have left a certified mail notice on my door on the 9th which introduces two problems.

    1) My wife and sister-in-law are in the house 95% of the year. When they are not there, I am there. The house I live in is occupied 100% of the time and nobody heard a doorbell or saw a mailman over the last 3 weeks.

    2) There was no notice on my door or in my mailbox which I have been checking everyday in anticipation of the delivery of my item.

I was one of the lucky ones that was able to find the tracking information because I stayed on top of my delivery but had I been preoccupied with my regular life I would have never received my package and there would have been a myriad of accusations hurled at the company that I purchased from. I have requested redelivery and am watching this like a hawk now. If there is no attempt on 12/21/2010, I will be contacting the postmaster general and the AUSA for the Northern Illinois district as this is not the first time that the Postal Service has failed to deliver. The pattern of failure is becoming more and more common and unless we begin to prosecute them for mail tampering, it will never stop.

On 11/30/2011, I shipped a package via USPS First Class mail with delivery confirmation. For the last 14 months, my package average delivery time is 2-4 days. I keep an eye on my tracking. As when packages are delivered, I sent a note to the buyer stating I see it has been delivered and thank them for their business. On November 30, tracking displays this information: Your item has been processed at our origin sort facility at 7:41 pm on November 30, 2011 in Reno, NV 89510.

On December 6, 2011, the message is still the same. I contact my local post office. They state since it is the holidays that deliveries may be slow. I explained that with all my deliveries I've sent with delivery confirmation, every single one has shown in the history of the tracking, when the packages are received and leave the origin sort facility. The postal worker states maybe someone didn't scan it. It happens all the time. She advised that I wait until December 12, 2011 and if the tracking history shows the same, to call back and speak to Pat the USPS manager of the Peavine Post Office, Reno NV.

In the meantime, I send usps.com a complaint about this. I received an email back from eCustomerCare National stating: In order to better serve you, your recently submitted inquiry was forwarded to an office that is better suited to address your needs. It is being investigated and you can expect a reply within 2 to 4 business days.

On 12/8/2011, I received in email: Dear ***, I regret learning of the inconvenience you have experienced. This email is in response to your recent complaint case number HQxxxxxxx regarding non-delivery of your First-Class package with delivery confirmation number xxxxxxxxxx. In order to provide you further assistance and investigation, I will need further information from you. At your earliest convenience, please call me at xxx-xxxx-xxxx. My hours of operation is Monday-Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time. Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you and thank you for the opportunity to address this matter with you.

**Your case has been investigated and a solution has been provided to you. Should you have any additional concerns, please return to www.usps.com to send them to the appropriate office. Please do not reply to this message. **"

I called that number. The message that answers the line is that they are on another phone call or I have called after hours and it disconnects the call. To this date, every single time I have called the provided number, I receive the same message.

On December 12, 2011, I called and spoke to Pat the Peavine Post Office manager. I explained to him what my concern is. He wanted to argue about an envelope cannot be sent with delivery confirmation. I explained (again) that the large envelope was sent with the USPS 'package' postal fee due to dimension requirements and limitations as outlined by USPS. With the 'package' fee, I can add delivery confirmation as an additional charge. He finally states that it is too early to be concerned. It is the holidays and mail delivery is slow. I concur, however, I explained again. My concern is that since 11/30/2011 I have mailed out 7 more packages that have reached their destination and this one has not even left the sort facility. He states he can do nothing since he doesn't work at the sort facility. I asked what my next step is. He stated to wait and see if it is delivered.

I then asked how long should I wait. One week, one month, one year? Pat states I must wait 30 days. I then asked and then what do I do? "Do I call you again and say the package is still sitting in the Reno sort facility?" He states that is when I file an insurance claim. My package has a value of $7.50. I did not purchase insurance. Pat stated then there is nothing USPS will do. I asked since I paid for First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation and USPS failed to keep their end of the transaction, am I refunded my postage? He stated if I come in and see him after 30 days he will reimburse the postage (with proper documentation, which of course I have. )

It is wrong that USPS can lose my package and not be responsible in any way for it, especially when there is proof that they lost it. USPS has proof they lost my package or worse a postal worker stole it. They are basically shrugging their shoulders and asking me if I gave them an additional two bucks so I can get my seven bucks back. In order to mail a $7 package, to ensure it is delivered somewhat timely and safe, I or the buyer, has to pay in the least, $4.31 in shipping costs.

A lot of my transactions go through PayPal. PayPal's policy is I, the seller am responsible for all mailed items until there is proof that the item reaches the buyers verified address. If USPS loses it and there is proof USPS loses it, I am still responsible for refunds to the buyer. This includes whether or not the buyer wanted or paid for insurance. I am responsible for refunding money for a package USPS knowingly lost. Who is USPS responsible to?

I now realize the USPS sorter "James" threw the FedEx in the garbage (competitive companies?) or kept the VZW (cell phone) for his own keeping (good luck, I reported the MEID #). This concerns not only the personnel at USPS at **** and their lack of action but also the mail carrier in my neighborhood. I will enclose two letters of complaint I had submitted to their office and the USPS Consumer and Industry Contact Office in Los Angeles. I have been having problems with our mailman since October 2011 and the problem still hasn't been remedied.

I am writing this letter of complaint regarding a mail service delivery person. On the 12th of November, I received a delivery card dated October 10 telling me that a large package had arrived and that I had to pick it up. I was home at the time of delivery. He did not deliver to my door like he was supposed to. I was ill so I was home on the 10 and also the rest of the week. I called the USPS general number for re-delivery. I gave instructions as to where my apartment is located because sometimes people can’t find my place. I live in an apartment behind a house. The following day, October 13, I did not receive my package. I first called the general USPS number and they told me he had the special directions with him, along with my package.

I lodged a complaint with them and that same day, I called the local USPS Wilcox Station for another re-delivery, also in October 13 and told them I was having a problem with getting a package delivered. There is still no package the following day, October 14. On Saturday, October 15, I decided not to phone in for a re-delivery and pick up the package myself. I was told the delivery person had it, had directions to my place, and hadn’t arrived at the station yet. I arrived at the Wilcox USPS, and the time was a little bit after 5 pm. I live nearby, I was home all day, and it takes me a few minutes to get to that station by car. Still I did not receive the package. The person working there at the time assured me that it would be delivered to my home the following Monday. Monday arrived but the package still didn’t arrive.

I had to go to the Wilcox USPS to pick up my package the following day, Tuesday, October 18, at 5:15 pm. I lodged a complaint with the manager there and when my package was given to me, it looked like someone had attempted to open it. Also, I have only seen this mail person face to face a few times since he started working this route. Those two times, I saw that he had a sullen, rude attitude. All I did was say hi to him and attempted friendly exchanges of words: hi, nice day, et cetera and then go on my way. He acted as if I wasn’t there. My saying hi to him seemed to make him even downright hostile so I left him alone. I personally think he shouldn’t be working with people, maybe not be on a delivery route. I would rather him not lose his job but he must be transferred to another job that doesn't involve working with people.

I am disabled, with no transportation, and I depend on ordering online so it is very important that I have large packages delivered to my home if they are too big for the mailbox from time to time. Also other neighbors have the same complaint including his refusal to accept stamped mail and he had told one resident of **** who is Ann **** that he wasn’t going to deliver mail to anyone on the premises. We all know this is illegal. Another person having delivery problems with this mailman is one of the neighbors next door. I have asked these two people to write letters of complaint and one person says she will definitely comply.

Today, November 23, at 2:14 pm, I received a very startling loud pounding on my door. It was the mail person who had a large package, not as large as the last package that should have been brought to my door on October 12, about 5X6X6 inches. It was a Christmas gift. My reaction was one of delight. I said "Hey! Thank you" He told me in a loud and hostile manner that he was only doing this as a courtesy. He called me ignorant and selfish and told me he would not deliver any more packages to me. His actual words: “It is my prerogative to deliver back here or not!” "I am only doing this because of selfish ignorant people who wrote letters complaining about me. It is dangerous back here.

It is dangerous for me to deliver packages to you selfish ignorant people. I am only doing this once! From now on, you go to the office to pick up packages!” I told him that, “I knew the regulations and that I contacted the government office to find out”. He kept yelling and verbally abusing me repeatedly calling me selfish and ignorant and would not stop or leave. I just told him, "I don't want to stand here arguing with you, just give me the package!” He continued his diatribe and his reason for not delivering to me is that it was dangerous back where I live.

I live behind a house like many houses and apartments located across California. We have neither gate nor any dogs that may impede him. No one has threatened him. It is a small apartment complex, 2 duplexes or four residences, my boyfriend, Michael **** was a witness to this. This delivery person has caused unnecessary aggravation to me and my boyfriend, he caused undue stress on us, disturbed my peace and disrupted my day. He was obviously trying to provoke a fight and tried to physically intimidate me. I am not accustomed to be spoken to in this manner by someone I am supposed to depend on. Although I think it may be too late, I request that you please do not show my identity or my address to him again. If you show him the letter of complaint, please block out the addresses and names. I don't need this kind of threat from someone who is supposed to be reliable and professional.

Now I feel intimidated by this person and I am afraid to go out and check my mail until late because I may encounter him. I believe he is severely unbalanced and I have given proof that he is hostile to other neighbors. I have also submitted a letter to the USPS Inspector General about this ongoing and now intimidating and serious problem. They referred me to you. He has an extremely hostile attitude towards all of us in this complex. I don't know why. I rarely see him and had no hard feelings toward him. None of us has done anything to deserve this kind of treatment so I hope something is done to either have him work at another job at USPS that does not involve his working with the public or have him dismissed.

My last letter pleaded his case but I see now how potentially dangerous he is. Later, I went to my mailbox around 6:03 pm, 11/23/11, and some of it looked like it was deliberately crumpled, and shoved into the mailbox. One piece that was damaged was important and I need to have it re-mailed to me. It has a deadline. I had only three pieces of mail so there is no excuse for him to cram my mail into the mailbox. This hasn't happened until I complained. I am afraid of his reprisals. I want to feel that my mail can be delivered as safely as possible. I receive important time sensitive mail, and I can't afford a Post Office box. Is this what I am to expect from now on by an obviously unstable individual?

I described my situation in the first letter and even if I weren't disabled, I know the delivery person is required to deliver large packages to the door of the recipient. Every other Mail Person at my address has delivered large packages to my door. I also know that he is not to tamper with mail and is required deliver mail that is handed to him in person. This has caused a great deal of distress in my life. I have enclosed pictures of damaged mail, taken Nov. 23, at 9:54 pm. I also provided the local USPS, Consumer, and Industry Contact Office a letter from one of my neighbors, and my boyfriend who witnessed this deliveryman’s hostility. Once again, I called the 800 number and they told me to write the Consumer Advocate in Washington D.C., of which I have little faith.

For two years I'm having major problems with my local post office. I have damaged mail (different ways) and no response from my post office (they have the worst customer service area ever). You call them and either nobody answers (all times of the day) or if somebody answers the phone, they can't help you and pass you along to another ex that nobody answers. My situation has cost me over $2,000 in very important mail and postage, etc.

I need a top customer service person from the main post office to call me and see about my issues and help me before I'm forced to see my attorney and go that route. I really don't wish that and I just want some help. Thank you. I want post office customer service help as my local post office has the worst or no customer service area. Nobody works when at work or they are always "out" that day when you call and are lucky to speak to a phone person only.

Entergy also would not have someone come to the property to be escorted to the back to see who would be responsible to cut two trees and what the procedure would be for this. By the time they finally came out to see the trees (between two phone poles), one had fallen and taken out most of the fence. I have pictures and logged the calls. They said it was the landlord's responsibility. However, they never even apologized for not sending someone for so long, thus ruining the fence.

They have turned off the electricity again and I am waiting for the results of the search by the USPS. They apparently want to do the search and the USPS told me the receiver of the M.O. is not permitted to do this. I am in the dark and I keep receiving late fees, reconnect fees, and ridiculous letters. I do not have a phone. So, please try to reach me by mail or briefly by the charity organization above **. In both cases, I had to call so many times that the property owner finally got involved (with the trees) and the owner heard some of the calls. Entergy was even told all parties involved were present for the call (i.e., both tenants and the property owner). Who cares whose name they wanted to file it with? I gave all of them.

In the past month, two items that I bought from an online vendor and chose to have delivered by USPS have been left on top of my mail box next to a busy road. In the past, boxes that were too big to fit in the mailbox were kept at the PO and a notice was placed in my mailbox for pickup. Then I would have to deal with the ignorant, incompetent and obviously less-than-intelligent postal workers inside the post office, but at least the packages were there.

Fortunately, even though my packages were left on top of my mailbox, they weren't stolen. Over the years, the mail carriers for this area have been nasty and rude, with one leaving me a notice that she would stop picking up my mail because I had put the mail too far into the box, which I did on a rainy day because the box had been bashed and the door didn't fit tightly anymore, and I didn't want the mail to get wet.

Since then, I've never mailed anything from my mailbox. I can well understand why the USPS is struggling, the people who work for USPS wouldn't be able to find work anywhere else. They would be fired for being lazy and rude to customers. I will gladly pay the extra shipping for UPS to deliver my packages from now on. These are just two of the problems I've experienced with mail carriers. There have been many other incidents over the years. I will gladly pay my bills online and pay more to have packages delivered by some business other than the USPS. I hope the USPS shuts down entirely. I will not miss it and I definitely won't miss postal workers and mail carriers.

Why is the standard procedure, to close the box and send the mail back to sender, rather than to contact the person whose mail is being delivered to that box? I was required to submit my home address, and phone number when I signed up for the box initially. One customer came home to find her box upside down and beat up on her stoop when all the time it had "THIS SIDE UP AND FRAGILE" written all over it. Buy insurance you say? I have and that is a joke too! The recipient must open the package in front of a postal employee in order for the employee to determine if any damage is the responsibility of the postal service or an error in my packaging abilities.

Let me assure you, I pack my work like crystal! Why would I throw it in a box willy nilly so it's guaranteed to break when some unionized postal employee decides to play rugby with it? Sometimes it seems writing on the box makes it even more of a target. And insurance is a waste because it's all subjective! This week, I had a customer contact me because she had not received her order that I sent out with delivery conformation on December 1. She contacted me on the 7th. Via 1st class, she should have had it within 5 days, but the clowns at the postal center in Greensboro, NC decided to process it in and out of their facility five times before it left North Carolina! What an absolute waste of time and money. She finally received the order yesterday, 9 days after mailing it.

Today, December 10, I was expecting an order of supplies to arrive as was indicated by the USPS as a delivery date. Well, it's been processed through Greensboro 3 times now. I live 2 freaking hours away, it would be easier for me to go pick it up there than to wait for those turkeys to get their act together. I needed those supplies today and now I have to make my customers wait another 2-3 days to fill their orders and I am losing both time and money! I am so mad right now that I could spit nail!

This is so disappointing, as today December 9th, no package it shows as it stock in their Jacksonville 32099 sort facility. Now they don't want to do anything about it, but guess what it shows that I ship the item and was in their hands when it got lost! Give me my package back! Advice if you are shipping anything higher than 50.00 add insurance. Is there anybody with the same problem that actually got solved?

Someone at the post office is just dumping my mail in a box there because it’s not being returned to the people who are sending it. My roommate is not receiving all her mails either. They need to speak with all the employees at that location and make them aware that I am back at this address and I want my mail. I think because I was gone for a year, that they don’t think I am here and don’t bother to look. Someone is not following up on my three complaints and I now have missing checks and other first class mails.

My mailbox is a slot in my front door and I never received it. I then found out that the post office had the package listed as scanned and delivered on 11/26/11. At this point, I approached the mailman and he said that he delivered it the day before, which was not true. I have had similar incidents in the past such as delivery of empty packages. When I tried to approach the postman a second time, he ran from me and wouldn't answer my questions. I believe that the postman stole my package because if he delivered like he said, it would have been inside my apartment.

It was stated in a delivery tracking conformation email I received on the Dec. 5 that the package was delivered Sat. Dec., 3, 2011!! I was home all day and greeted the mail man (was not the regular mailman) and he handed me junk mail that day. I was originally looking for UPS to deliver the package by Fri., Dec. 2, 2011, to no avail. When I checked my email Mon., Dec., 5, 2011 and made a few calls, I find that there was a joint effort in the delivery of my small package between UPS and USPS. Now I have no package and can't seem to get through to anyone to find out what's going on with my case because of "unusually high call volume." They need to have a more secure system because right now it's looking like I'm just out of some money and a package I was in desperate need of! Thanks, USPS.

German customs wanted to charge my mother duty on her Christmas gift and they set the price in euros. My mother does not have much money and she told them they are gifts. They did not care and said they are sending them back to me. That was 9 weeks ago. US post office said the packages were never sent back. German customs now said they know nothing about it. So I will collect the $600! Yes, I think German customs or Post Office in Germany are stealing packages. I started reading about it and it seems Germany has a very big problem with mail and packages being stolen. My guess customs are a bunch of thieves unless all of my packages were stolen or lost in the USA. Really stinks and will start using UPS for now on.

Postmaster Anthony **** has overseen the Concord, California Post Office for the entirety of my problem. He has been given multiple chances to correct the problem over a 3-year period yet has always failed to do so. The problems are such: first, the mail is delivered to our address for half a dozen people who do not reside and have not resided there for years. Second, the mail for the residence of our address is falsely delivered to other addresses in the neighborhood. So of this mail includes small packages, first class mail and urgent mail and not just third class mail.

I attempted to fix the problem by placing a note in the mailbox stating who should and should not receive mail at our address. I spoke with three different mail carriers on the route. I then spoke to three different supervisors at the USPS and reported the problem. I called, wrote and talked with the postmaster in person a dozen times. I wrote complaints to the local and Washington DC agencies but nothing has been resolved.

It was one of the supervisors going out with a shopping cart. In the cart was a big empty plastic bag that must have been so that when she came back, the groceries were not seen. I am appalled at this. This was one of the supervisors. The fish start smelling from the head. Why is this being allowed? Am I the only one that cares about what happens to our mail system? People like this should be fired. They need better training. No one is doing their job. Thinking of no Saturday delivery? Why don't you get rid of the rotten apples? We have receipts for both the forwarding and the new box we are renting.

We have the paperwork for it and that's primitive considering they have an entire computer database and yet still have the same business quality as a business maintaining millions of records handwritten on loose leaf paper. Now my $2700 disability check that takes care of my mother who was just diagnosed with epilepsy, me, and our dog as well is missing. I will no longer be using USPS nor will I be patronizing businesses that provide it as the only option. I'm done with Mickey Mouse USPS.

A package, containing my travel documents as well as that of my baby, were sent from the embassy in Washington, DC since 11.22.2011 using priority mail that was expected to get to my within 2-3 days. But till now, I am yet to receive the package. All my efforts to knowing what is to be done by the USPS is not encouraging. They claimed my package was sent to another city; meanwhile, they have the correct address on the envelope.

Because of this delay, I missed my flight since I could not fly without my passport. Also, I took vacation from my job for this trip only for me to still be home while I should have still been at job since I am paid per hour. Worst still, I was suppose to have traveled latest on the 27th of November since my temporal residence in Norway allows me to stay outside that country for a maximum of 6 months and the 27th of November made it 6 months. I left for the US. Now, my residency is on the balance. I need help right now. I am very sickly now. I could lose my Norwegian residence. I have equally lost my flight that cost me $1,250. Third, I might lose my job if I do not return in time from travel. With this delay now, I am confused.

I observed postal worker on more than one occasion making no attempt to deliver any box when the notice was given. I don't want to go to the post office every time I receive a box in the mail. Delivery charge includes drop-off at the house of the recipient. I feel that if UPS and Federal Express can make medium/large package deliveries directly to people's residence, so should the USPS be required to. I feel that the postal worker is too lazy and very deceptive.

So, the post office suggested that I forward my mail back to my home address and we did that. It seems that something happened. No one knows or can help me at this post office location. I have already spoken to every supervisor and also the main post office downtown. Everyone seems to want to help but the problem is not being corrected. It has been 2 years of problems with the postal service at this location.

Now I have recently been advised that my mail has gotten into the wrong hands and my identity has been stolen. So, I do not know what to do anymore. I have letters stating that the mail service has been sending my mail back. A US Mail tractor trailer ** (I believe license plate was **) going in the right lane in front of me has started changing lanes into the middle lane, while there was a small Honda Civic driving in that lane. The mail driver obviously saw the car. He was deliberately and persistently pushing Civic out of the middle lane and into the left lane, creating very dangerous situation in front of me. Two minutes later, the trailer was in the middle lane while Civic was driving alongside in the left lane. The US Mail driver started squeezing the same Honda Civic by pressing into the left lane. Honda did not have anywhere to go and had to accelerate not to be smashed against the center barrier.

Now they were going in the left lane, Honda first and trailer pressing on her from behind. The next second, a plastic bottle thrown from the trailer's window hit my windshield. Luckily, it was empty and just flew away. I had to take a picture of the trailer and can submit it to you to confirm the truck identity. I waited for my mail to show up and when it finally did, my photos were not there. I went back Monday and told them, they still hadn't arrived and all I was told was they would look into it. On Wednesday, they finally arrived, dropped off on my front porch in the pouring rain. It was marked that there were photos inside, but the postman left the envelope in the rain anyway, ruining the prints inside. The PO would do nothing to fix the situation. Today 11/23/11 I received my niece's Christmas present in a box with huge letter's written all over the box "Do not crush! Fragile!". The box looks like the post man jumped up and down on top of it.

My original package was shipped via the FedEx/USPS Smart Post alliance. FedEx delivered my item to the local Post Office in a timely manner. USPS attempted to deliver the package the next day, but I narrowly missed them. I followed the directions on the redelivery card, arranged for delivery the next day, and received an e-mail confirmation of this. After three more days, none of the three tracking numbers associated to the shipment is being accepted by USPS.

After seven phone calls (even to the local Post Office), the shipper said they are having the same problems contacting a human being at USPS, and the USPS carrier remains unaware of any such redelivery. The shipper arranged for a completely new delivery to be sent via FedEx only. My reshipped item dutifully arrived via FedEx 48 hours later. Ironically, the original shipment surfaced, one day after this, and was refused as directed.

Not once, was myself, nor the shipper has ever been given the option to speak with a human at USPS, in troubleshooting this issue. The representative at this large ]internet retailer actually stated that the Smart Post deliveries fail a large amount of the time, and that they would be discontinuing the program as soon as their contract allowed. Filing a complaint with USPS about the matter eventually generated a canned e-mail, that completely missed the details of my issue, and was a further waste of my time.

With the entire USPS branch of the Government in financial jeopardy (One wonders why? ), it is highly unlikely that their inefficiency in basic customer service, or haphazard deliveries will change anytime soon. I will be writing my elected politicians with my vote, not to bail out USPS ,until they get their ** straightened out. In the meantime, I will go out of my way to route anything, other than non-important mail, through USPS, and gladly spend the extra money for reliability found in the private sector.

Too bad that your rating system does not acknowledge negative numbers. No loss of money for me. I do not know if the shipper had to pay for the failed delivery via USPS. Otherwise, a great deal of time lost in attending to this matter.

Sept. 2010,carrier rings doorbell and starts walking away. Dogs start barking, two dogs break the front door open (due to faulty latch which was fixed immediately). I start to go after a now running carrier. The carrier maces both dogs (justifiably) and at that point we have regained control of dogs. I notice the carrier bleeding from his knee. I ask him if he got bit, he replied,"Yes". I look at the knee, and it appeared as though he skinned it on the brick wall of the house.

He called supervisors, they took him to a hospital. We were told that they would not be delivering our mail, I never received anything in writing stating such. After 3 weeks of them periodically coming out to our house, and lying saying it was a bite, we called animal control (note the post office never did). Animal control did not treat it as a dog bite. There is no evidence of a dog bite from that date. After another week of phone calls, and post office refusing to deliver our mail, or call animal control, one day our mail started again.

    One year later, no problems.

On 10-22-2011, non-normal route carrier delivers our mail. One dog (one of the accused from above), heard the mailman, pulled open the inside door, jumped up on the push latch of the screen door, and ran out. The carrier tried to defend himself hitting the dog with his mailbag (justifiably) and this time the dog did bite the carrier. We called 911, after he talked to 911, he called his supervisor. When the supervisor arrived he started yelling at us saying that this was a second bite. I told him he was lying and that animal control will know it. He then said that we would never get our mail delivered.

At that same time the carrier was in the ambulance, giving his statement to animal control. He told them that the door was closed and the dog opened it. Animal control then came to me as the owner of the dog. After talking with animal control, and being cited for animal not confined, and animal registration, I complied with the 10-day mandatory quarantine. Note, the dogs shots were/are current, and the registration actually expired on this exact day.

Within the next 3 days, we replaced the front screen door with a new steel security door, which is a turnknob and deadbolt. We also put up a 'beware of dog' sign at the front door. The day we picked up our dog from quarantine we installed a mailbox at the end of our driveway, facing the sidewalk. Note, we got a new registration at this time from animal control. The mailman has walked on this sidewalk in front of our house daily for 20+ years, and continues to do so today. We still have not received anything in writing from the post office.

I recently ordered a product online to be delivered to my work, since all parcels arrive directly in my office. After two weeks had passed and no package arrived I decided to check the tracking number. The tracking number showed it as being delivered at a time that I would have been in my office. The company I ordered from said there was nothing they could do since the package was marked as delivered. I contacted USPS, but they basically told me that someone at my work signed for it and must have lost it. A month later the company I ordered from contacted me explaining that USPS contacted them and found the shipping label for my package at the bottom of some a sorting barrel. That means they lost my package, but instead of owning up to it they marked it as delivered and knowing I couldn't follow up or dispute.

Another case was when my company ships samples to our customers through USPS. They ship as standard letters. These are essential to our business, and USPS is the only option cheap enough to allow our customers free shipping on samples. As of around September 2011, shipping times for these letters have doubled or even tripled. It sometimes takes 5 business days to deliver to addresses that are 2 hour drives away. Half of the blue USPS drop boxes have been removed from our neighborhood, and the ones that are left are only picked up a couple times a week.

Each and everyday that we actually get mail (and I say this because if our carrier is off, we don't get any mail at all), our mail is late. Packages that have guaranteed delivery never ever arrive on time. When calling to make inquires regarding the lost mail or the post dates of most mail pieces being over 2-3 weeks old, consumers are received by Ms. T. How this person is still employed is completely stunning. She is so very rude.

She is worse in person. It is blatantly obvious that she has no customer service skills, hates her job and has a total lack of motivation or initiative. With times the way they are, there is no doubt as to why everyone supports cutting out a mail day. Nothing ever arrives on time except the useless advertisements. Seriously, had I known that this post office could cause so many problems related to mis-delivery, late delivery or non-existent delivery, we would have moved to Oak Lawn where friends there do not have the same mail mishaps we have here.

Don't send "First-Class International" mail to China or any country for that matter. All you are doing is giving the USPS money to take your package and offer it to a slew of postal workers as a free gift. There is zero accountability/responsibility on USPS for this option of (non)delivery. I've seen Priority mail get through, however.

USPS said the package arrived in China. The package is an LC code - First-Class International mail. China Post said the package is still in the US. The USPS website doesn't track LC mail, so the only available information on the package is when the sender drops their donation off (free package up for grabs) at the Post Office and hands over money to boot.

China Post is correct in saying there's no evidence of arrival.

I ship hundreds of items via USPS monthly. I am having serious problems with the USPS scanning system. This problem started about six months ago and I cannot continue this way. I have tried to see if we could figure out what is going wrong with the system, talking to the supervisor Mr. Robert ** of the Fort Pierce main post office. It is just getting worse. I see no end to the problem. I cannot always go to the post office and wait till they all get scanned in order to get a shipping receipt. I usually drop them off and I would think they will get scanned correctly, if they are, and I think they are. Your system needs to get looked at. It’s seriously defective.

I have almost been accused of not taking the items to the post office. Even when those new at the counter, I dropped them off. They see me quite often. The items scanned showed it was delivered at the same time and date it was scanned. Many do not show scanned at all. I have had to refund hundreds of dollars to my customers. They think I printed a shipping label and never shipped. Even the post office itself has accused me of doing just that. Needless to say, I was very upset. I paid $25.00 for express mail to Canada. I do understand there is no guarantee on shipping to Canada. But it took 5 days to go from Fort Pierce to Miami.

I was not able to get a refund on the shipping because it never showed accepted. According to the carrier, he scanned it. It never entered the system. I refunded my customer the $25.00 and was not able to get the refund. I was out another $25.00 only on one item. The total on that one was $50.00 wasted. I have no idea what to do. Many of these are taken directly to the post office and ended up as I indicated - scanned in error, not scanned, and already delivered. Many others are picked up and scanned at my location. It was the same exact problems. One carrier apologized for scanning all of my packages as delivered.

What is happening to the system? Not only has this happened on my shipments but also on my deliveries. I get a tracking number that never shows it was accepted. Yet, I usually receive the item. Constantly paying the extra for tracking is to give confidence that the item was shipped and delivered. It adds up in a hurry. Epically when I have to give refunds, each refund is either $45.00 or $60.00. This cannot keep happening. I am constantly getting email from my customers claiming I printed the label but never shipped the item. What steps can be taken to prevent any more of this outlandish mistake by the USPS? Please reply with something positive.

I ordered through Amazon on 10/26/11 and they shipped my package via USPS. When I tracked the item, it showed that a delivery has been attempted and a notice left on 11/1/11. That was a lie!

Another package that was sent on 11/3/11from my mother overseas, was also delayed. When I contacted the customer service center on 11/12/11, I was advised to contact my local station. I called the office on 11/14 and they said that someone would bring one of the packages by if someone was there and they would look for the second one. My hubby was there all day and no package. They updated the system to say that an attempt was made and a slip was left. Liars!

I did so, spoke with a Supervisor (Ozie) who informed me that I could come by after hours (since I leave work after they are closed) and the evening supervisor would give me my packages. I just had to call the number he gave me. I followed the instructions he gave me and the evening supervisor (Ms. Murray) told me that was against the rules and she could not give me my packages. Why would one supervisor tell me that for another one to say that she could not? I asked her that and then she changes her story to tell me that Ozie did not say anything to her about this and I would have to call back in the morning. I called back 11/16 and was informed that Ozie was gone for the day.

In addition to all this, one of the packages could not be located when I asked if both packages where there to be picked up. I then asked, how could a package that you claimed you attempted to deliver, not be there? She went and finally found it. I asked if there was someone there that I could file a formal complaint with. She advised me that I could go online and call an 800 number. I asked why did I have to go online if I needed to call a 800 number. She gave me the web address of USPS.com and that website is about as useful as wet paper towels.

Here it is, the day after Veterans' day, and the flag looks as if it has been in battle. How can our children learn to respect our flag if we do not?!

Despite multiple logged complaints and even a letter from Ms. Crystal ** at Consumer Affairs (case# **) stating what is and is not acceptable to mail in a $4.95 flat rate envelope, the women at the Hope Mills post office at 28348 are still refusing to mail my packages because of their personal opinion (Lauri being one of them) of what they think should be mailed in them. Please see the enclosed letter I provided to them that was sent to me by Ms. Crystal ** at USPS Consumer Affairs to help us mail our packages.

Even showing the women at the Hope Mills PO the letter we received from Ms. Crystal ** at Consumer Affairs which would allow us to continue mailing our flat rate envelopes there, the women at the Hope Mills PO still will not adhere to it and refuse to serve us with our needs and we are forced to drive to the other post offices in the neighboring city to mail the same packages. The first time we showed them the letter, they did adhere to it, stating, "now we know." But they also told us that the packages will be held at the PO in the receivers city and that the receiver would have to pay the difference in cost because the envelope was not flat.

Just to let you know, the other PO personnel in Fayetteville are extremely helpful, and they are aware that the Hope Mills women do not follow USPS rules. They have received multiple complaints from people who also go to Fayetteville to use the PO so that they can avoid the Hope Mills PO. On a logical note, please allow me to illustrate the error in what I have been told by these women. I was told by the women at the Hope Mills post office that in order to ship anything in a flat rate $4.95 envelope, it has to be flat and cannot exceed 1 inch in thickness and cannot change the shape of the envelope in any way. Another time, she told me it could not be bigger than an inch. And yet I called a moment ago, and Lauri's answer changed again, telling me that there was no limit as to how much I could put in there, but it had to be flat and that it could not be a tee shirt but could only be paper.

To experiment, I put 1 inch of 8.5x11 paper (a standard paper size by any account) in a flat rate envelope. It was too much paper and I could not seal it. It was too thick. I then took it out and put of an inch of paper in and still could not adequately seal it. I reduced it down to 3/8 of an inch of paper inside the flat rate envelope and could finally get it sealed. So, this, by the Hope Mills explanation, would be an acceptable flat rate envelope. The only problem is, I can send 3/8 inch of paper (13 oz with envelope) via first class for $3.28. I thought the whole point of flat rate was to save money on shipping. If it fits, it ships, right? Not in Hope Mills, NC. In Hope Mills, if Lauri agrees with what is inside of your package, it ships. She is discriminating against harmless content.

To reiterate, I have complained, literally a dozen times by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS, and each and every time I called, they told me that the women at the post office in Hope Mills were in error, and I should be able to ship something that is more than an inch, as long as it fits fine and does not require additional sealing tape or reinforcements. One gentleman at 1-800-ASK USPS told me that I could ship a brick as long as it fit and I didn't need to tape it up. Another woman there told me that she had mailed baseballs in the flat rate $4.95 envelopes and that shipping an object with those dimensions is perfectly acceptable. We are not shipping baseballs or bricks, but are shipping onesies and small t-shirts. Small items of clothing that do not exceed 1 inch in thickness in most cases.

I am a clinical psychologist and logic and communication is my expertise. I do not tolerate rudeness, and that is what they have been to my wife and I when we have tried to mail the flat rate envelope with a onesie in it. One of the women even yelled at us when we were 5th in line that we cannot mail our packages there. They will not even adhere to the letter we were sent by Ms. Crystal ** at Consumer Affairs. Additionally, when I told them that every other post office we had been to in the U.S. mailed these happily, the woman told me, "You can take your flat rates to the Cedar Creek PO because they will mail those over there, but we wont."

Again, 3/8 inch of 8.5x11 paper with envelope = 12.8.oz. If sending first class would cost $3.28 from North Carolina to Washington State. It does not make sense to even have a flat rate envelope for $4.95 like that if the women at the Hope Mills PO are correct. It would be false advertising because it is not true to, "If it fits, it ships."

We send literally between 600 and 1,200 flat rate envelopes per year, but we recently relocated to Hope Mills, NC from WA state, and this is the only post office of any we have been to anywhere in the United States that will not serve us. We have mailed these in Utah, Idaho, Kentucky, and every other state between WA and NC. We have always been treated with respect, until we met the women at Hope Mills. Again, my business is understanding people, and I think I understand these women, but that will do you no good. I do know that unless someone actually speaks to them and makes them acknowledge that they should adhere to USPS official rules, they will continue to cause problems for you and us, and the rest of Hope Mills.

Lastly, please do not simply forward this complaint to the Hope Mills Post office to deal with. This was previously done by the complaint department and I got a rude voice mail from the same woman we have so much problem with there, stating that we cannot mail flat rate envelopes that are not flat. She was less than respectful in the VM, and I still have the voice mail recorded. I am begging you, for the good of our time, effort, gasoline consumption from running to the other post offices, and my sanity to please, once and for all, contact all of the employees at Hope Mills and set them straight so that we may go to our local post office to mail our items rather than the neighboring city. It is ridiculous that I should have to do this. I have wasted so much time, effort and money because of these women.

My next step, if this is not resolved immediately, is to file a lawsuit claiming false advertising, and I will take the USPS to court. At that point, I will call my friend at channel 11 and ask them to do an investigative piece on the treatment I have been given with all of my documentation and the recorded voice mail from this woman. I do not want to do that because I am too busy and many USPS workers are wonderful, but the USPS has not addressed this in an adequate manner despite my multiple attempts to resolve the issue, and despite the multiple complaints and the poor ratings of this post office online. Nothing has been done to directly deal with the women at the Hope Mills office.

False advertisement. It seems my package has disappeared, and no one really cares. They don't tell you at the post office that you need to insure against postal employee theft. She was on a personal call when I walked in for help, and when she was ready she came to assist me. I needed to mail something and needed to purchase a box. I asked for tape and she tells me I need to buy the tape. Then tells me to "get it ready for her''. I proceed in getting it ready for her and go back to the window. She now asks if I wanted to mail this package. I almost lost it. Why did I go to the post office? To buy tape and a box?

The bottom line is, this employee is lazy. I worked in customer service for 12 years and I know what a consumer expects and this employee made feel like she was doing me a favor just for showing up to work. If I treated a customer the way she treats me when I go in there, I would not have been as successful as I was. Over the past two years, the letter carriers on our route have refused to utilize the USPS key to unlock the standard key holder welded on the front gate of our building to thereby access the mailbox. Instead, our mail is thrown over the fence onto the front steps of the building resulting in lost or damaged letters. This has been an on-going concern since February 8th, 2010 when I first submitted a complaint to customer service. I did receive a call back from the local postal supervisor. But the problem only stopped for a few weeks and then began to occur again. Since this time, I have submitted numerous complaints about the same or similar issues which I have listed below. My mother is permanently disabled following a brain aneurism 6 years ago. She is unable to physically get to her mail box. This past year a new individual started delivering her mail. Since then her mail has been returned 4 times. I have gone to the Mill Creek Post Office and shared my concern and was told to have my mother's doctor write a note regarding my mother's disability and send it to the postmaster. I asked for a formal form to give to the doctor and was told there wasn't one. This was done, however, the postmaster returned the letter to the doctor that the doctor had sent. So, the doctor sent the letter to my mother's address.

This Mill Creek Post Office in return sent all of my mother's mail back because she was unable to get her mail. I placed a call and spoke to a very rude man, second in command at the post office. He interrupted me when I was explaining what had occurred and accused me of not following through and having my mother's doctor send the letter. He is the same individual who had told me to ask the doctor to send a letter. He then hung up on me. I called back and proceeded to try to explain that the doctor did send the letter twice and I was hung up on a second time. I called a third time and an individual named Bob, would not give me the name of the first person I spoke with. I informed him I would be filing a formal complaint.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the attitude of the individuals who lack professionalism, class, concern for others and who simply cannot seem to do the right thing, especially for an individual with disabilities! I am appalled! It is time that these individuals lose their job security if they are unable to deal with the public in a kind and professional manner. My mother still isn't receiving her mail and this is a total injustice! Shame on you Mill Creek Post Office in Mill Creek, WA!

This letter is to complain about service I recently received from a US postal Service Manager Armando ** and customer service representative named Maritza **. I am extremely disappointed as I have used your company on a regular basis for important packages and services but I have noticed a steady decline in the quality of service as of late. I have encountered various problems, quite frankly, most recent one being the most frustrating and severe.

On Thursday November 3, I called US postal Services to schedule an appointment to renew my son's passport. I got my appointment for Monday November 7 at 9:30 am. I was informed that both parents must be present and they could take the picture.

On Monday, when we arrived to the US Postal Service located at 14310 SW 8 St Miami Florida at 9:28 am, we noticed a passport line. I told the manager Mr. Armando ** we had an appointment at 9:30 am and his response, in front of everyone, in a very sarcastic way was that we had to wait because the 9:00 am appointment was just arrived and that person was going to be assisted before us. I explained my problem to him, my son was already late for school and my husband and me were late to work. I explained that the purpose of making an appointment was to be attended at that time and whoever missed the appointment should wait. Mr. Armando ** response was that I was not in a doctor's office therefore I had to keep waiting. I was quite frustrated when I saw that attitude in a manager, what would I expect from the rest of the staff. In addition to his behavior, I want to mention he was talking on his phone a personal call while many people were waiting in line. It was contradicted to look at the wall and read Manager on duty: Armando ** - Providing Quality Service while we were receiving such that type of service.

Finally we were called by Mrs. Maritza **, who was very rude with us. She asked for my son's pictures. I asked if she could take the picture, she replied, in not a very nice tone, that the machine has been broken for a week and we had to go to Walgreens or CVS and then come back. I was surprised with her response since when I called (less than a week), I was offered to wait for the appointment to take the picture, she said she didn't know who I spoke to but since the machine was broken she couldn't help us.

We ended going to Walgreens and when we came back we had to wait for Mrs. Maritza ** to show up. She came to us eating a banana. Very unprofessional. Of course, all of us were extremely late to work/school. A process that could take 15 minutes to renew a passport (with appointment) ended in around 3 hours.

It is my opinion that such behavior does not conform to the Us postal Service's policies of appropriate workplace behavior. We feel mistreated by these two individuals. We expected a much higher level of service, and I am quite disappointed. I feel I had to escalate this issue in order for the USPS greatly improves the quality of service. These type of attitudes damage the customer's service quality control.

I request you to kindly look into the matter and ensure you take action. Thank you!

I have spoken to 2 USPS cashiers and one man who work in the post office's "back room" (where mail is sorted). The USPS refuses to deliver my mail because I moved the mailbox from the street level to a mail slot in the garage, about 4 ft. back! Originally, the delivery person didn't have to get out of their vehicle to deliver my mail. But I recently had some major remodel done. The area where the mailbox was is now a parking zone flush with the street and a mail slot was cut on the side of my garage. It looks a lot better and also prevents mail theft. Yet, the USPS now refuses to deliver my mail until I install a mail box at street level again. Neither the architect nor the contractor warned me of that potential issue and I expressed this to the local postmaster, also showing her before and after pictures of the area. But they don't care. The fact is that others in the area have garage mail slots (that's how I got the idea). But I found out after they received approval before switching over. I can't walk into the post office in my town without being harassed by the current postmaster!

This incident involves two post member offices in Pueblo, Colorado. The postman did not ring or knock at my door with my package and left me a mail slip. I go to the post office listed on the slip. They told me that my package is over at another post office. So I went over there and they looked for it and could not find it. I go back to the 2nd post office again and they were unable to locate it again. Went back to the first office and they did not bother to even look for it and told me rudely that "there are no packages here."
