Whenever I order anything online, I do not receive it the first time. I complain to the post office and they do nothing. I then have to plead with the person I ordered from to send another one. And they do so out of their own pocket. I then have to track online when it is out for delivery, go to the post office and tell them I am expecting it. Then I have to be home and wait for the postman to make sure I actually receive it.

I should be able to order something and receive it the first time without it taking a month to receive the "second" item that was sent. Either someone in my neighborhood is getting a "present" every time I order something online or our postman is getting a "gift". One of these days I will not get another item sent to replace the one that conveniently gets lost by the post office every single time!

The postal employee put down the flag on the mailbox, placed the mail in and never took the outgoing mail.

When I returned from vacation a month ago, I went online and suspended delivery until Saturday. The following Tuesday, I called because the mail was never delivered. The person in the local office in Swedesboro stated it was a new driver and it could be delivered tomorrow. I responded that I think it should be delivered today – and they did.

I’m not sure why the USPS is still in business. If the postal service cannot deliver and pickup mail, why does the US spend so much money on it and causing additional debt to tax payers?

For the past week and a half, my mail carrier has not been delivering my mail; even before that, services were erratic. My box has been empty the entire time; it is not too full for her to put the mail in, and she has never left a note in the mailbox to indicate that my mail was sent back or on hold at the post office.

I checked with my local post office, as well as the one my carrier reports to, and my mail is at neither of these locations. People who have sent me mail have not had those pieces of mail returned, so my mail is not being sent back. I can only assume then that my carrier is stealing my mail. She refuses to answer my questions of why she is not delivering my mail.

I noticed that I haven't been getting mail for more than one week. At first, I thought it was because no one was mailing me. Yesterday, 7/28/2011, I went to the Post Office to inquire about this. They found some of my mail had been put on a 10-day hold. I had no note in my mailbox informing me of this. I am currently missing a credit card bill, electrical bill, pay stub, and other mail that I do not know of. I would not have known my mail was being withheld if I didn't check at the post office. They could not answer why this is being done or when this started.

Today, 7/29/11, I saw my mail carrier at my apartment's mailbox. There was no mail in my mailbox. I asked her why I haven't been receiving my mail and she said that I haven't been picking up my mail. I told her that I've been checking my mail every day and there is no mail. She said the mail is being returned to the original sender. I asked her when she started holding my mail and she wouldn't answer me. She ignored my questions and laughed at me. She handed me a piece of paper with a 1-800 number to call for help.

My mail carrier is not delivering my mail to my mailbox, which causes me to have to go to the post office clear across town to pick up my mail from the counter. The problem is I work 12-hour days 5-6 days a week and they are never open when I am not at work.

There has never been a note in my mailbox notifying me that my mail was at the post office or why they were not delivering my mail. What can I do about this and is it even legal for a mail carrier to withhold delivery of my mail?

She refused eye contact and did not answer or otherwise acknowledge my existence, much less my questions. I went to get my pennies and returned. My friend I am corresponding with has also filed a complaint as she even got an electric bill two days later than the due date. This has been going on far too long, and I am sick and tired of never knowing if I am going to get my mail from this address: PO Box #**, Joppa, IL.

The residents of this town use PO Box's. I receive mail "always" from my relatives in Scotland far quicker than I get mail or non from this Post Office. I want this looked into as it is a federal crime to tamper with mail. There is no other conclusion I can come up with for so much mail to go missing on both ends.

Problem #1: Refusal to Provide Service

I went into the Malabar Post Office, as I frequently do, to ship out an international pre-paid package. I stood in line for ten minutes as there were only two postal clerks to check us out. I was the last one in line with no one behind me for a while, but by the time I was at the front of the line, a line had formed behind me. I had one package and asked Clint (the clerk) to please check-in and accept my package for me, so that records shows that the package was accepted at the post office for tracking purposes, and proof that it had been accepted into the postal system.

Clint refused to scan my package into the system; he informed me that USPS clerks only check in pre-paid packages at their convenience, and because there was a long line behind me, it wasn't convenient. He was not going to scan my package into the system for me, but would take the package and put it in a bin-- where it would be scanned in later.

I replied to the clerk with a polite, "No, thank you. I understand, I will just come back tomorrow." He then became very rude. He stated that if any of the other employees scanned in my pre-paid packages, they would get fired.

I asked him why they would get fired for providing a service to me that I had paid for, and was entitled to.

I also stated my confusion by politely saying to him that I have been in business for two years now, and have always had my packages scanned into the postal system when dropping them off (in which he knows because I am in there every other day with shipments, everybody there knows me).

He then firmly and in an annoyed, rude manner stated that they only check in pre-paid label at their convenience, and if he caught any of the other clerks scanning in my pre-paid package, they WILL get fired. Then, he looked at me and said, "I'm serious."

I simply explained how the last time I had left a package with the USPS without being scanned in; it never got checked into the postal system. It was never delivered to my customer; in which USPS refused to help me track this package stating that they had no proof I dropped the package off at any postal facility. They advised me in the future to make sure to have the postal clerk scan my packages for acceptance when dropping them off. I nicely and calmly stated I would just come back early the next day to check in my packages then. Again, I was told if he seen any postal clerk screening in my pre-paid package they would get fired.

I simply just left the post office with my package. I went home, called USPS, filed a complaint and was told that an investigation had been opened, and that I would receive a phone call within two business days.

Clint was loud and rude; even though I was being polite about the whole situation, he continued to demean and embarrass me in front of all the postal workers and customers-- as if I did something wrong.

My Case number filed is CA10576634; I never received a return phone call.

Four days later, I called back in because I now had eight packages to be scanned in and shipped, but I did not know what to do being that I did not want to go in and deal with the same degrading situation.

I opened a second case CA105787407 regarding this situation, and was told that someone would call me within two business days--still no call.

I have since gone in on Clint's day off; had my package scanned in by a different clerk, and accepted into the postal system. However, this as I am finding out does not mean a thing either.

Problem #2: Lost & Untraceable Packages

I have been shipping package internationally for two years now; I have always been able to track my packages, and I have never had a problem with them being delivered.

As of 2011, my packages have not shown any tracking updates, and have gone lost. Some not ever being delivered to my customers.

Lately, the tracking numbers only show that the packages have been accepted at a specified postal facility along with the time and date that it was scanned into their system (thus, supporting the importance of having your package scanned into the postal system when dropping off a package).

However, even with proof that your package was scanned and accepted by the Unites States Postal Service, if your package has not been delivered or has been lost, (as lately quite a few of mine have been) the USPS states they are not responsible for the items that they failed to deliver or have lost.

This means that they are in fact providing a fraudulent service, and committing a crime as far as the law is concerned.

I am paying for my packages to be delivered to a specified address. I am also paying for the service of having my packaged tracked up until delivery. If my packages are not delivered and are not traceable; they have not provided me with the services I paid for, and are obligated to prove that their service was provided or refund me my money.

As recent records show, according to all my recent shipments, packages are not being scanned and tracked any further from the postal facility in which they are being checked into. I pay for the service of tracking my package, and having them delivered. Lately, neither of these services are being successfully provided to me, even though I have paid for these services.

I wonder if it is possible to file a Class Lawsuit against the USPS for financial loss, damages caused by not compensating customers for services paid for and not rendered when packages are lost and damaged in the care of the USPS (in the case where USPS cannot provide proof of delivery or track your package).

My fiancé is in Iraq. In the two years he has been in Iraq, he has grown close to a local family. They have always been very kind; offering whatever they do have (no matter how meager) to him for his services in Iraq.

Recently, the wife fell ill. The husband makes less than USD $200 a month; is having a hard time keeping the family fed, and paying the hospital bills. My fiancé called me and said he wanted to give this family USD $1000 to help them out. So, in the next package I sent to him, I packed some goodies for a taste of home, and $1000 in cash.

My fiancé received the package today. He said the package was opened, marked "DAMAGED" with an official sticker, and the $1000 was gone, along with some of the goodies I packed for him.

We did not insure the package for $1000 because the insurance costs are almost 50 percent.

I have one of the very few locked mailboxes (that is part of a huge box of locked mailboxes); located about 1/2 block from my home. Since it's outside, the locks freeze up every few years.

I have been unemployed since 10/2010, and have no money (I get food from the food shelf, and have been trying to stretch out a small retirement fund to get me by-- until I can find a job).

About 1 1/2 months ago, my mailbox lock froze. The postmaster wants $10; to replace two of the three keys that are given out, each time the locks have to be changed.

I have one key, but my brain injured daughter (can be verified) lost two of the keys.

I have NO MONEY TO GET THE LOCK CHANGED.

I explained my situation to the postmaster, and asked if I could just put a mailbox in front of my house, like I used to have, and like almost everyone else in this entire town has. He told me, "NO." I asked him if I could pick my mail up at the post office, and he said I could, but only for two weeks.

I still haven't found a job, the two weeks are up, and the last day I went in to pick up my mail he made it a point to say, in front of other customers, "This is your last day." I was insulted.

This employee of yours' is interfering with the delivery of my mail.

I have lived in my home since 1976 and own it. I am over 60 years old, I have no job and only has little money. If I had money, I would gladly pay the $10, but now I don't know how I can get my mail.

That man is the rudest person who has worked at that post office in the last 35 years (so rude in fact, that I usually go to the post office in the next town over which I can't do for my personal mail), and the embodiment of the adage, "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Please, help me and set him straight. I am profit, he is overhead. He seems to have forgotten this fine point.

    Thank you.

My name is Sut ** (Candice), I live at **, Denver, CO 80231. I've moved to Denver from Minneapolis, MN last Wednesday, and I mailed 33 packages on 7/11 at USPS (18 North 12th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55403). I arrived at my current address on 7/13. Since my apartment is facing the mail box house, I watched the mail man (sometimes it's an older woman) come every morning at around 11 AM (sometimes after 12, but usually at 11-11:20 Am). It's always a small van (smaller than a Honda CR-V). I knew that the packages usually take 2-9 days to arrive; since the amount is large, I kept waiting.

During the wait, I received other small mails from FedEx or USPS. Yesterday, 7/21, I watched the mail man came with the small van again, and was disappointed. I went to check the mail box after he was gone, and found that he actually left a hand-written note on a white piece of paper, which was obviously torn down from a larger paper, and it says, “You have packages at the post office waiting to be picked up.”

I was confused and shocked by the unofficial notice, and I called the local post office at 303-221-5209 (8700 E Jefferson Ave. Denver, CO 80237). The person I talked to said that the packages were there for a couple of days already; they had tried to deliver for the first time, and I was not home. I told him that it was impossible because I literally sit in front of my window watching the mail box of the building (even when I'm typing this). Then he asked for my phone number, and claimed that he would tell whoever was responsible for the mail the next day, to call me and deliver my stuffs to me. I hang-up the phone happily thinking that I would finally receive my packages.

This morning, a small van came again; I ran down to the mail-man, and asked about my packages. He told me that it was him who left the message. He said nobody had told him anything about delivering my packages, and when he asked whom I spoke to, I couldn't answer. He was nice enough to give me his name, Bob and his manager's name, Natalie. He said that she should be able to arrange my delivery.

I spoke to Natalie and this time, she told me that I owe some postage because the people of the Minneapolis post office didn't measure and calculate the fare correctly; therefore, I would have to go to the post office to pay first, and haul the packages back to my apartment, by myself. I asked if I could come to the post office to pay the fee, and have the packages delivered to me--she refused. She said, "We’re understaffed" and "you're living on the third floor." I offered that if they could deliver one at a time I would be happy about it. It's OK even if the mail person will just knock on my door, and I can go down to carry the box myself. I understand it's my responsibility to pay, but isn't it their responsibility to tell the customer the correct postage fee and deliver the items?

Finally, she said that she had to speak with her manager, who would be in the office in a couple hours (it was 11:15 AM when I called her because the mail man came at 11:05 AM today), and she will let me know what he could do for me. After three hours, I called again. Natalie said that she had already spoken with her manager, and she claimed that he came to the same conclusion as she. I asked if I could talk to her manager, she said he's already gone. At least, I had his name this time, Adam **. She wouldn't give me a number to reach this person, and said I would have to call again to speak to him. After two hours of helpless struggle, I called the USPS general information number at 1-800-275-8777 and asked for instruction. The person believed the situation is unfair to me, and gave me the direct number to the department of customer affairs of USPS at my location, 303-853-6185. I called at 3:05 PM and left a message. I called again at 3:30 PM and left another message. Their office hour is M-F 8-4:30pm. I tried to call a couple times before 4:30 PM, still no answer. Here I am, trying another way to help myself.

Step out of the story and think, if I owed money to USPS, they would not deliver my package until I pay them. Then there was no first attempt of delivery, if I'm correct about it. If there wasn't a first attempt, why am I responsible for hauling the packages from the post office myself? For a person who has nothing in the new home, the only thing I can do is wait for my stuff to arrive. I don't think it's my fault not to have a car. Also, if this wasn't going to work out, the person at the Minneapolis office shouldn't have let me mail all the stuffs in the first place. Why do I have to be punished because they miscalculate the fare? I have already sent this to USPS's website. I really don't know how long it would take for someone to contact me.

About a month ago, there was a problem between me and a postal carrier. I reported this man to the USPS and the postal inspectors to have him investigated. My complaint towards him was because he had left all the mail boxes opened, and forgot to close them. So, I informed him, and he was very rude to me. I filed a complaint against him. Since then, I’ve not been receiving DVD movies from a rental company called Nym Media Inc. I either don't receive them, or they also are very delayed-- none of these things used to happen. I was told by USPS to call consumer affairs, but I’m additionally filing this complaint online. I’d like this situation resolved. Thank you.

My mother's case number is **, and her name is Alice **. My name is Carolyn **, and we reside at the same address. Hopefully, I'm contacting the same entity. On June 14, 2011, I spoke with an agent at 404-765-7702. I told her about the multiple problems we've been having with our mail for almost 18 months. Our mail has been torn apart on multiple occasions. The see through window on our mail has been cut open, and the mail was tampered with. Our envelopes have been torn or partially opened. It looks as if our mail has even been steamed opened at times. I used to receive miscellaneous mail, coupon offers from stores in our neighborhood, but now we pretty much do not receive any mail. We didn't used to receive tons of mail, but it was consistent and almost daily. It has gotten to the point that we receive mail maybe 2 or 3 times a week, and when we do, it's maybe one item.

When I made the call to the representative named Angela, she stated that she would be sending me something in the mail to test the post office, and see if I would receive the test mail that she sent. This is important because she stated that the information that she was sending would need to be filled in by me, and returned to her. I've yet to receive that mail. When I call 404-765-7702, I have to hold at least 20 minutes and cannot get through. I would like for someone to help address this issue for my mother and me. We have filed a complaint for maybe three times. We have spoken to people at the post office in Marietta, and their attitudes are not pleasant.

The supervisor who is over my area at the post office stated that he remembers our address, and that we never received a lot of mail. Why is he still interested in what we receive is my question? More importantly, he's incorrect. He seemed a little touchy for someone who doesn't deliver mail to our address any more. Why does he have our address in particular embedded in his brain if he subscribes to the idea that he hasn't delivered mail to our address for some time? We have had the most private of mail not show up, cut open, and ripped from one side to the other. It appears at times as if the dog ate the mail. You can tell that the mail has been manipulated. We would like someone to call us at your earliest convenience time to discuss this matter in further detail.

Also, I was traveling to Santo Domingo on July 2, 2011 with plans to use my credit card over there, to pay for an operation that I scheduled prior. On June 25, 2011, I called the credit card company to check if they had received my payment. They told me to allow ten business days to post it. From that day on, I called HSBC every other day to verify if they had received the money order, and they kept telling me no.

Then came July 2, 2011, and I had to live to Santo Domingo as planned, but without the available credit that I was counting to have on my credit card. The same post office lost my passport when it was mailed by the National Passport Center. On June 23, 2001, I missed my flight. I called the doctor in Santo Domingo to see if he could change the day of the operation. I was told it was not possible. In Santo Domingo, I had to borrow money with a high interest in order to pay for the surgery that I was scheduled to have.

July 16, 2011, I returned from Santo Domingo. I called HSBC again, and I learned that account was earning interest already because they still have not received the money order. On July 18, 2011, I went to the post office to put a track on the money order, and paid $5.40 for it. It has been a couple of times that this post office (Middletown, NY 10940-9998) lost my mails, and I had lost time, gas, money and et cetera.

I scheduled an appointment on May 1, 2011 with a doctor in Santo Domingo to have an operation on July 4, 2011.

The National Passport Center mailed my passport on June 23, 2011 and gave me the tracking number **(FedEx). I spend the entire day at the post office with the manager in charge, looking thru every box possible to see if they misplaced the passport and on the phone with the national passport center but they couldn't find it.

I made numerous phone calls to the National Passport Center and every time somebody different answer the phone, they gave me different information on the steps to follow in order for them to issue another passport. The manager at the post office just apologized to me for loosing my passport. Finally, the manager at the National Passport Center asked me to download a form which I have filled out and faxed in order for them to mailed me a replacement passport overnight. They gave me a tracking number ** When I checked the tracking number, it said that the passport would arrive at my house at 10am on July 2, 2011. For four weeks, the mail carrier that works four to five days out of the week is refusing to deliver my mail because my mail box is unsecured. We found out on the 19th of July, after observing her and after she admitted when confronted, that she was the one opening my mailbox from the back. When we reported her to her supervisor, she sided with her and allowed her to discontinue delivering my mail even though the two other carriers on her route still delivered my mail. So I advised the supervisor and I was asked to file a complaint telling me that I had no ground so I advised her that I would be letting the post master general, postal inspector, the BBB, and consumer affairs know, so she reluctantly gave me the form. So in essence, she was denying my request without resolving the issue until she realized that I had the knowledge and the will to go to higher authorities.

On the following day, she sent another male worker to the apartment mailbox where the regular mail clerk showed him our box. He formed a fist and entered it through the back of the box and repeatedly punched the door till it opened and further damaged the door where it is now no longer functioning. The most disturbing of all this was on the first of July when I was issued a check by EDD and that check has disappeared. The mail carrier told me that she personally sent it back to EDD and not to the post office as required, this I know to be true because I called the post office twice that afternoon and the following morning and there was no mail returned to my mail box at the post office. The result is that, I had to file a missing check affidavit because the check never turned up. So with this, I came to the conclusion that she has either stolen or discarded my mail in an inappropriate manner. Her supervisor is condoning this behavior by not correcting the issue and telling me that I must now repay the work that her worker has created. On the 20th, I put a hold on my mail when I went to collect it. The mail room supervisor advised me that she would personally look through my mail and if a check came in, she would return my mail and cancel the hold on my mail. It's not her job or duty that hold is to be in placed for ten working days and not at her discretion. There has also been two incidents that the mail carrier has engaged in a yelling match with my fiancé (one that she started) which again is 100% unprofessional. We do have witnesses to verify these actions and a fellow postal worker that worked that route the day before monday, the 18th of July and he stated that sounds like something she would do (pop by mailbox) She's a total bitch if you get on her bad side.

As of now my phone is shut off, my cable disconnected, my landlord is threatening me with eviction plus the late fees for all the bills listed above. There has been a total of $1,398.00. My entire monthly income has been temporarily denied to me due to this office's inappropriate handling of mail and the negligence to resolve this issue in a proper manner. I would like this mail carrier be dismissed due to being unprofessional and mishandling my mail because as I stated above, she was personally making decisions with my mail and not following regulations. I would also like the supervisor to be reprimanded for not sanctioning and correcting her employee's behavior.

This is a house but I have two mailboxes because I have two different people living here. The postman has sent a lot of my mail as undeliverable and it took me about six months to figure this out and in the mean time, she has sent back my certificates from the state to get paid from my daycare. The state sent eight certificates before I received one. The only reason I got it was because I left her a note saying that this was sent out so please watch for it. She wrote a rude, nasty note saying that I need to change my address to apartment #2 or she will keep returning my mail. I have talked with Paul at the new towns post office about three times and I have gotten nowhere.

I didn't get paid for my daycare service last October to December and until May 2011, I didn't get a notice that a bill from my doctor was sent to collections and now the collection agency won't remove it after I paid because it was over six months since I contacted them. I don't get any of my insurance cards from the state.

I have never had a problem in 25 years and I never had apartment #2 on my address. Paul, her supervisor, has talked to her and she keeps writing on my mail that she is going to send my mail back if I don't put it on there. I need this resolved and I can't have a postman choosing what mail I will get. I'm at the point of calling my lawyer to file a law suit.

I went in the next day, only to find it had been delivered. It was a very hot day, and my mailbox has an open end that tilts toward the afternoon sun. I came home and found the package, which had a large red "Perishable" sticker and green "Refrigerate on Arrival" sticker, in my mailbox, where it must have been 130 to 150 degrees. It had been in the mailbox for an extended period while I was in town to get it, as I had been instructed to do on the card. The contents were very warm and had spoiled. I went to the post office on Friday to ask them to investigate. First I was told by the clerk that nothing can be done, so I asked to talk to the Postmaster. I insisted that all of the envelopes must be together, because if not, at least one would have made it out. I feel like someone in that post office threw them away, because if they were forwarded to the central sorting office, they would have gone separate directions as they were not bound by a rubber band.

Now I have to have the invitations reprinted and remailed out. I want the post office to pay for this.In the future, everything will be done by email, and online bill paying. Americans can no longer trust the post office.

The po box my Aunt, Berta Arnold, receives her mail is in her nephews name, Charles Turner, Jr. (Chuck), PO Box 593, Butler, GA 31006. I took her to the post office Sunday, July 10, 2011 because she had applied for food assistance and was approved and she thought they might be in the po box. It was locked due to non payment for box rent. I took her home and she gave me the notice and it was due June 30, 2011 with a past due amount after July 10, 2011. I put $21 in the envelop, took it back to the post office and dropped it in the slot since this was on a Sunday and post office was closed. Assuming this was like all other businesses, since July 10 was a Sunday that you were given another business day.

Her nephew went to post office July 11 and he was given the $21 back that I put in Sunday and was told he had to pay a late fee. My aunt is 79 years old, can barely write her name, doesn't know her social security number, can't drive, has a 3rd grade education...not very competent. The money WAS at the post office on July 10 as the notice said. If this last due date was on a Sunday, someone should be at the post office to accept or give you another business day. My aunt does not have $15 late fee and I live 30 miles away.

I asked the post master in Butler if she would at least give Aunt Berta her food stamps so she could eat and she said NO. This is absurd. I hope whoever makes these rules can sleep at night knowing some litle ole lady is hungry because the post master refused to give her the food stamps. The Postal Service needs to take another look at the way they handle due dates.....do not let it fall on a day that their business is closed OR give an extra day. This is wrong regardless of the rules. I wonder if the media would have a "field day" with this kind of behavior. Please change your rules and also suggest to your post master that there are ways to talk to people she serves. Thank you.

I called the customer service number for USPS this morning because the package I shipped via priority mail had not been delivered and the tracking information is not updating online. I did not get the name of the first woman I spoke with but she told me that the package was still in Greensboro, NC sorting facility and that she would open a case for the post office to research and find the package. I gave he r my name, address and phone number and she gave me a case number.

I tried to ask her a few general questions about what I could expect from the investigation but she told me that she was not able to answer them. I told her I understood and asked if there was someone I could speak to someone authorized to answer my questions. She told me she would connect me to a supervisor. I thanked her and waited on the line.

A woman named Anita picked up and I gave her my tracking number and she confirmed everything that the other woman told me. When I began to ask her my questions because I thought I was speaking to a supervisor she seemed frustrated and told me she couldn't give me the answers I was looking for. I explained that I thought I was being transferred to a supervisor and she told me she was not a supervisor. She then connected me to a man named Vince who announced that he was a supervisor.

I gave him my information again but he informed me that there was not a case number opened that matched my phone number and that the case number I was given was for someone else. I told him at that point that I was getting frustrated and recapped the experience that I had so far. He reacted very crisply even though I was speaking to him very calmly. At that point I asked if he could tell me the name of the company that he worked for as I intended to submit a complaint regarding my experience this morning, but he said he couldn't tell me.

I was surprised and said, “You can't tell me?” He replied that he couldn't, for security purposes. I was even more surprised and again repeated what he said. At that point he reacted very nastily and asked for my tracking number again, which I gave him. He promptly hung up on me.

I called the toll-free number back and spoke with Judy. She was wonderful. She was able to tell me immediately that the package was in the recipient's local post office and delivery could be expected tomorrow. She confirmed that no case had been opened for my information and that the case number I was provided was for someone else. She told me that she did not understand why I wasn't told the location of my package and was shocked when I recapped my previous experience. She explained that she was not able to tell me the name of her company because of the Homeland Security policy which was easy to understand. She transferred me to a manager named Tina who listened patiently to me as I recalled my experiences this morning.

Other than that, she confirmed the location of the package. She also told me that Vince could and should have explained that Homeland Security prevented him from releasing the name of the company but that he was permitted to tell me the region that he worked for and should have done so. There was no reason that I should have been hung up on since my frustration was understandable.

All I called about was the location of a package that I paid to ship. She reiterated that it was reasonable and a common request and I should not have had the experiences that I had. I thanked her for her time.

I will reiterate here that at no time did I behave rudely or raise my voice with anyone I spoke with. I did tell Vince that I was frustrated by my conversations so far and by the fact that I was given a case number for someone else while being told that I had an open case. It seemed appropriate to inform a supervisor about what happened. It is reasonable to expect that a case would have actually been opened and that I would actually be contacted regarding the whereabouts of my package in two days as I was told. It is also reasonable to expect that a supervisor would not hung up on me for informing him of a customer service issue in his customer service department.

I only called to find out where my package was! During the time I have been typing this information, I received an email from Judy with the same tracking information that she told was available to the three other people I spoke with.

When I finally got thru to them, I was told that the package would return to France on the 8th; and that if I wanted my package, I would have to come to pick it up on Saturday. This is not a normal or professional situation. The same thing happened to my husband a few weeks ago; and he is the one who told me to check on my own. I have been living at the same address for 5 years now; and I filed several complaints about this post office but nothing was ever done.

It's a shame to find so many complaints about a post office. I filed complaints by e-mails, phone ,and in person but nothing is being done. There are a lot of people who would do a better job than them. We are at a time where everyone should be grateful to have a job. Meanwhile, these people are very disrespectful and shameless because they know that they cannot be fired. I hope you will be able to handle that situation better than the other agencies I have been dealing with in the past. You might want to check this URL for more complaints about this post office: **. Since June 13 of this year we have had increasing difficulties with our 'mail carrier' who seems to think that as long as he gets the mail 'in the vicinity', he's done his job. He has thrown the mail on the front porch, delivered after hours and on weekends and, in short, not delivered business mail in a business fashion. Multiple complaints have been ignored both locally and by Consumer Affairs.

The mailman disconnected us from our address. When confronted, he said that he thought we moved. When asked why there was no notification or otherwise to at least hold the mail, he had no answer. In other words, the person decided that we moved without making any effort to see if he was wrong. We have no bills via USPS. So, most of the items were not time-sensitive; but a few items are still necessary. For more than five years, including 14 months at the current address, I have had checked weekly, sometimes 2 weeks, and at least once in 3 weeks; and the box was never close to full -- it was a large box. I never had a problem across several addresses; but suddenly, after 2 weeks, we are disconnected -- no hold, no notice, and the mail was returned as "not deliverable as addressed." Complaints fell on a complacent/stolid USPS to include the inspector general's office for this troubling misconduct. I am now left with a petty mailman providing us a box -- full in the notice, when it's not 25% full.

I purchased an item from eBay on 6/12/11. The package was sent via mail on 6/14/11 thru the Allentown Post Office, with delivery confirmation and insurance. The estimated delivery date to me was 6/20/11. The package never arrived. I began calling the post office and was told that they could not tell what was going on with the package; and I would need to wait until 6/30 to put in a trace. I called on 6/30 and put a trace on the package. I got a call on 7/1 from my local post office in Lawrenceville, Georgia stating that the package has been looping around in the Allentown Post Office since it was sent, and has never been forwarded to me.

I asked when this would be corrected and was told that my local post office won't get involved; and I was to go to the Allentown, Pennsylvania post office and let them know what is going on. The sender of the package went to the Allentown Post Office and was given no information -- was only told to make a claim. I called the customer service number for the post office on 7/5 and again, there was no additional information, no idea where my package is, and no idea of when it will be sent to me -- if it ever will. I am now out of my money; and I don't have the item that I purchased. The post office, which clearly has the package, cannot provide any information as to what they are doing and what they plan to do to correct the problem.

I ordered an item online and the sender mailed the package. I received notice on Friday that the package could be picked up at the South Elgin Station on Saturday.

I showed up Saturday to claim my package and the postman gave me a package. I went out to the car and opened it just to find out it was a wrong package. I returned to the station and informed them of such. At this time, he went back and looked for the correct package and came back stating they could not find the package and to please call the Elgin station (gave number) to see if they have it. (I was not the only one that day looking for a lost package either.)

I called the Elgin Station and they said it was in the truck and to be delivered. So I sit home all day Saturday waiting for the package. Nothing arrived so I called before closing time. They said they can't find the package and that I will have to wait until Tuesday and check South Elgin.

So I took an hour off my government job to try and take care of this issue but when I got to the South Elgin post office, there was no package again. These people have looked online and it showed the package was delivered on Friday--I said no! That is why I am here, this notice was left at my door on Friday. Then I was told to write down my number and they will call me if they find the package.

This is poor customer service, and someone should deal with the fact that they have lost my package when it showed it was delivered (NOT). I spent hard-earned money for what I ordered and expected to be compensated for what they have lost. Could you please help!

I never received this package and it would have only been outside for an hour. I have never had anything stolen. It would be very difficult for someone to walk up and take something that big without being noticed by the neighbors. The seller did not take out insurance or require a signature. e-Bay does not require insurance for anything under $250. I got a letter from the post office stating that our area is being serviced by seven mail persons because the usual person is out sick. On June 23 2011, my sister went to the Sunnyvale post office to address mail that was not being forwarded. She was no longer a resident and was not legally able to make any changes in regard to the forwarding of mail form my address. On June 27, I failed to receive a package that was expected from Amazon.com with a tracking number of 9102 9010 0129 7181 9702 18.

Between June 23 and June 27, my partner and I received no mail at our address. On June 27, I sent an email complaint to the central USPS service requesting assistance in addressing the delivery of my package, the restoration of our mail service and the recovery of mail that has since been in "limbo."

Cases CA105558329 (for discontinued service and the lost package) and CA105575200 (just for the lost package, as previous case was closed and considered "resolved" even though my package hadn't been returned to me) were opened in order to address the issues of the lost package (not really "lost", just stuck in the system looping) and the lack of mail service.

Mail was received for one day, and hasn't been received since.

Concerning the package, I was contacted by the Sunnyvale USPS location and was told the package had been found and was being routed back to me. Via tracking, it can be shown that the package has been re-routed twice. As of today (the promised re-delivery date), the package has once again been registered as "missent" and is now headed to another sorting facility.

Perhaps this is just my perspective, but cases that are not "resolved" shouldn't be closed until all issues have been addressed. The choice of the Sunnyvale USPS location to close the original case constitutes negligence as it is closing a customer's complaint without addressing all (now any since mail service has stopped again) of the issues of the complaint.

While I respect the busy and chaotic nature of the delivery industry, USPS provides a paid service. This being the case, the USPS office should be held accountable for its continued failures much the same as any other business would be.

I have been overly diligent in attempting to resolve these issues with the postal service. I placed calls to the main center three mornings in a row and spoke with the local office twice. I was assured everything was being addressed.

However, since I stopped calling, the mail has not been coming and my package was routed to an unknown destination.

Finally, the local USPS office has been unable to provide me with the location of the mail I should have received during the original week in which I wasn't receiving service. They can't tell me if it was returned to sender, forwarded to another address or just sitting in a post office somewhere.

I have had my mail mistakenly delivered for well over a year. When I called the local post office, they either let the phone ring or it was always busy. When I do reach a supervisor and complain, nothing results from it.

I lost at least three-four letters and packages a month. I have created a report with the people who received my mail since I also received theirs! While it is true that predominantly my mail went to an address close to my own, the mayhem was not limited to us two recipients. Often when I receive my prescriptions and packages, they are opened! When I had an expected package and the post office failed to act, I walked up and down my road and can "sometimes" find it at other houses.

I have complained multiple times and the post office always sided with the postman. One instance, the mailman told his supervisor he had in fact delivered the package. After several days, we found it in a ditch 20 feet from my mailbox. When confronted, he claimed to have placed our large package on top of the mailbox and it must have fallen off!

That doesn't seem like a good practice for the postal service I grew up knowing...through sleet and snow etc. Just leaves me feeling helpless.

She was, for some reason, trying really hard to make her opinion heard and was already quite worked up from the beginning. She adamantly insisted that no USPS could grant such a request and that it was prohibited by law to do so. When I asked if she wanted to see the proof of the validity of my request and as to why she was so rude to me while I was not even requiring her assistance to begin with, she then told me that I received enough info from Mr. ** and to get out of the office.

Shortly hereafter, I remember that I needed change for a $5.00 bill, but Helen had already closed the register, so I stated that I would again make another purchase for two additional stamped envelopes, and then she could make the $5.00 changed, while the drawer was still open.

After she "took" all the money, she turned back to me, and requested that I pay again. I responded with utter dismay as I informed her that I had just given it to her, to which she adamantly kept repeating, "no, you didn't. No, you didn't". I told her, "yes, you do have the money", and that I had handed it to her already. After a few more of the same word exchanges, I requested for a supervisor and/or a video playback, as I knew all transactions were recorded. Supervisor ** arrived on the scene, and came out with a sympathetic shoulder hug, but not for me. It was for **. With comforting words, ** spoke to ** for a moment, and then came over to me and informed me that "nothing could be done, until a close-out cash count" was executed at the day's end (after 5 p.m.), and then he requested a number where I could be reached at, to which I gave him.

I then proceeded to make contact with the inspector general via cellphone, to report this fraudulent and uncharacteristic chain of events. Around 6 PM, after not hearing anything back from the post office, I called and requested to speak with **. ** asked me if ** had called me to say that the money did in fact turn up in her cash drawer. I told ** that no one had called me. ** said that I could go back there tomorrow, and get my money, no mention of the additional cost of two stamp envelopes at all. At this time, I did request an apology from **, because ** was wrong, and I was traumatized by this whole experience, not to mention that my integrity came under assault in front of everyone, and it wasn't even my fault.

** then stated, "no, you're not going to get an apology, because ** doesn't need your $5.00!" It was unbelievable. The lack of professional conduct and customer's benefit of the doubt was unparalleled to anything, that I have ever experienced. Had both **'s, as well as **'s professionalism been more in-line with customer satisfaction, instead of the absolute certainty of 'no fault and no wrongdoing' on their part, this could have been amicably and professionally resolved. USPS lost my son's passport and certified birth certificate mailed from the federal government via priority mail. I traveled 40 miles (round trip) to submit a lost passport form to the local government office, paid $12.72 to receive the new passport via certified mail, lost 4 hours of work (@$50/hour) and a certified birth certificate costs $26 including $20 to notarize the document. Fuel charge for the trip was approximately $7. Most concerning is identity theft, which is a possibility if the original mailing is not found.

The postal carrier apparently couldn't figure out what to do with everyone else's mail, so they just decided not to deliver it. So our mail sat in a crate for two weeks and never moved. Some of our stuff, including a package of mine, was forwarded to that person's new address. To make matters even worse, it turns out the address they were forwarding it to wasn't even correct.

Now, it's supposedly being sent back from Chicago, to Naperville, with no way of tracking where it is, other than calling the Naperville post office and dealing with people who have no idea what is going on and constantly giving my number to people who never call back. It's difficult to figure out exactly what is going on, due to the incompetence of the Naperville post office staff. All of this, because one person's forwarding address (which they got wrong) apparently applied to the other two people living in the house.

Also I have contacted consumer affairs once already and was told to fill out a hardship form which does not exist unless you are elderly. Medications were not received I’m a timely matter and I did not receive my bills which means late fees. Etc... Not receiving my mail because I can't reach the mail is just not right. We are tired that USPS loses our packages and they never do anything about it. We ship most of our items First Class Mail and we pay delivery confirmation on each package. Sometimes, USPS loses packages right away and they never update the tracking information on their website. Sometimes, the tracking number shows "delivered", but USPS delivers it to the wrong address therefore our client never receives their items. I have opened so many cases on USPS and I never even got a call back. We have lost so much money as we ship a lot of packages daily and we have to refund our clients that never received their orders. Someone has to do something about this as it should be impossible to lose a package when it has a return address. Please help!

After moving here, I used the change of address form three times and still did not receive any mail. I have both me and my husband's last name on our box in big bold print which you cannot miss. Two friends sent me birthday cards, one was returned to them saying no one at that address and one was never returned or received. Four months after living here, my sister sent a wedding invitation which was returned to her again with "return to sender" and no explanation. I have had packages sent here that never showed up and never returned which I lost money on. I have had one with tracking confirmed it was delivered here although that day, no mail ever got here and I waited all day for it and left my doors open so that my dog would bark to let me know if something came.

I have lost money time and time again on both merchandise and paying for shipping. Now I am forced to have to open a PO box just so that I can receive mail! Why should I have to pay for this? I still get people's mail who used to live here last year as well as other tenants who moved 6 months ago. The mail boxes are clearly marked yet I get mail for other names and address thrown in my mailbox. I have complained numerous times to the post office and they don't know what to tell me or what to do. What can be done about this?

This also feels futile. I realize that the majority of USPS employees try to do the best they can. But what can we (customers) do when our mail is so unreliable that we become exasperated? Mail and packages vanish, especially packages. The people who moved and left forwarding addresses years ago are still having mail show up at our house. We are losing $$$ in packages disappearing, both directions, whether it is scanned through our local post office and does not come to our home, or we drop off packages (we can't always stand in the endless line to get insurance) and they never get scanned into the system. So we cannot prove we sent it back.

This is simply beyond incompetence. Where are our packages going? They cannot vanish into thin air. Yet, we are paying for packages to arrive at our home, then cannot prove where they went. How can we continue purchasing by mail when vendors only use USPS, not FedEx or UPS? We have no choice.

No answers, just complaints and frustration. I called USPS today and someone is supposed to call us about it (again) in 2 business days. So far complaining does not help. It does appear the system is permanently broken.

Lost money. Lost time trying to track and problem solve. Businesses lose money when we choose not to order if we cannot rely on receiving the products via USPS. Everyone loses.

My name is Shawnisa **. I have lived in New York City for 6 years and I have never experienced anything like this before. I ordered a package (Blackberry style) from a seller on eBay. I paid $186 for the phone. I was pretty much stalking the USPS website for the package because I needed to send it off internationally with my sister the following day to Antigua and Barbuda. The website informed me about 11:30 am, June 11th 2011 that the package was delivered.

I thought that was weird because I was at home until 1pm and I left a note on a letter size paper giving instructions that USPS should ring the door bell on the second floor. After he left, I went downstairs and there was no package. The following day, I spoke to the supervisor at the post office in question. Then, I saw the same mailman that same day and asked him about the package. He admitted that he saw the instructions but said that not only did he not remember following the instructions on the note but also that my neighborhood is bad and should expect "that these things should happen". I almost cried. This guy comes everyday speaking on his Bluetooth so loudly that if I'm at home on a quiet day, I can hear him coming. I have received several packages at my address and this was the first time I had a situation like this.

The supervisor at the office says that they will try to locate the package but since it was not insured, the liability is mine. I refuse to accept that. How could he remember the note, my neighbors and the instruction clearly and not remembering following the instructions? I have researched this particular post office and I have read poor reviews. I cannot afford to lose that money. I am appealing to you because everyone else has someone fighting for them. The mailman has the post office covering for him and the seller has proven that he has sent the items, so who fights for me?

This is a further complaint about the Chewelah post office, on almost a weekly basis we get someone else's mail. It is our practice to personally return the mail to the clerk inside the post office. The manager was notified last week. One of the clerks put a note on the back of our box asking mail sorters to be more careful and they have always been pleasant until this morning when my wife took some mail that was in our box that was addressed to someone else with a different box number.

When she handed the mail to the male postal clerk, he threw up his arms and raised his voice and said: "we are only human and people make mistakes we are only human, there is a slot out front for that and you don't need to be bringing that in here all the time." The only difference from today and a few days ago was there were other customers in the office this morning.

This was the same clerk that offered to put the note on the back of our box and admitted that they often get careless. This is the third time this week that we had to return someone else's mail this week. It makes me question how often is our mail being put in someone else's box and not returned. My wife should have been treated with more respect then to be yelled at in a federal public building by the clerk and to be told she shouldn't be bringing it to him. There is a slot out side for this. Which suggests this missed placed mail is a common practice. Last Feb, we filed a complaint about our mail that had never been delivered and they assured us that didn't happen in their office. Well, I now know it does happen and often. I respectfully submit this complaint and request that this matter be looked into .

My father sent a mid-sized parcel to me from a local postal office in New York. He paid for the shipping charge to Japan and was told it was classed as priority mail. The package never made it to Japan and this was shipped in February 12, 2011, well before the earthquake on March 11. It should have arrived but instead, no trace of the package can be found. It was scanned once at the counter upon acceptance but never scanned at the next transfer station. Or it might never have made it that far as well. Basically someone handled this parcel and either placed it in a wrong bin or walked off with the contents. It was a parcel containing six hats, some gift wine glasses and birthday cards for my daughter.

It's amazing how no one in the postal system could explain the normal journey a parcel would take to get to Japan from NY. Each person my dad and I spoke with gave a different tale. The 1-800 line was useless and their help was suggesting to file the claim and that is all. They seemed sure enough it was lost and unlikely to be found. No one could explain the reason why this parcel was not properly scanned at the next transfer station or report back any evidence that an investigation was actually underway. Their investigation was merely typing in the parcel scan number into their track and confirm engine which I already did online for free.

They merely read me the same results. I was shocked to see how poorly they have pursued this and still await some information or explanation. This is the second incident involving the failure of delivery on the part of the US postal service. Why bother asking for insurance money and placing barcodes on parcels if they are not properly or responsibly handled? Our claim has been filed but no word yet from those guys at USPS.

To the best of my knowledge, these are the actual dates I have been into the post office to complain or send letters. I have not marked these dates on my calendar, but believe them to be fairly accurate.

Years 2005 through 2007: We had three vehicles during this time and would occasionally park one of our vehicles in front of our mailbox. Nasty notes were left on the windshield or in our mailbox. The notes stated that we were obstructing our mailbox and that our carrier had every right to withhold mail until we moved our vehicle. There were several times that he placed old photocopied penal codes or citations validating that we were in violation and mail was being withheld until we removed our vehicle.

July 2008: I complained to "Dolly" as the mail carrier supervisor or postmaster was not available without an appointment. Dolly (or Dottie) was a former neighbor of mine in early 2000 when I lived on ** (different address). She stated that she would relay the message. The following week, two Netflix DVDs which were delivered were broken in two.

August 2009: My adult son came to live with us for a year. He drove a small Ford Escort and parked it on the street in front of our home, not directly in front of the mailbox but was close to it. Postal Carrier left two nasty notes on my son's car, one was the photocopy of penal codes stating it was against the law for him to block a post box and mail could be suspended. My son was a police cadet at the Brentwood Police Department and was very upset at the note, thinking that his behavior would be reported to the Brentwood Police. We did not second guess the postal carrier, but believed that we all had violated the law, according to his notes.

My son was on a tour and I did not have keys to move his car. Our mail was withheld for almost a week. I had to leave work early to get to the post office before closing to retrieve our mail. Whenever my son would forget and park right in front of our mailbox, our mail was not delivered.

May 25, 2010: We went away for a few days and our house/dog sitter parked on the street in front of our mailbox and received the same threat notices, so she moved her car. When we returned, we went into the post office and spoke with supervisor, Marvin. I stated that he was leaving threat notices on our cars and was also curious to know if he was legally permitted to drive on the sidewalk? He said that the postal carrier was a union employee and it was very difficult to get anything done, so I needed to write a letter first. He said that he would give the letter to the postmaster and she or someone would be in contact with me once my letter was reviewed to let me know of the outcome.

June 11, 2010: My letter to the Postmaster received no reply.

August 15, 2010: I called Orinda Post Office and left a message for the Postmaster. An anonymous voicemail was left at my office (no name given) stating that the letter was received and "disciplinary action is underway". The message left sounded like Marvin, the carrier's supervisor.

Mail was withheld several times over the course of 2 months. Often, 2 days would go by with no mail whatsoever. When mail was received, we noticed the postmark date was older than necessary. We were not sure if our carrier was retaliating because of our complaint letter, or if the mail service was slow.

January 19, 2011: I was driving home from the store and noticed our postal carrier in front of me. He blew right through a stop sign on Ivy and Risa Court, directly in front of Orinda Intermediate School. He did not slow down, just ran right through the stop sign, and then made a right turn onto Risa Court. The time was approximately 3:30 pm and there were children walking from the intermediate school on the sidewalk and in the bike lanes. He did not even look to the right where children were waiting to cross.

Saturday, January 22, 2011: As we were driving up the street, we spotted our postal carrier driving in the opposite direction, going up the hill to Ivy Drive. We turned around and videotaped him going down the hill, past our home, driving on the sidewalk. We went directly into the post office and spoke with Marvin again. He again told us that we were dealing with the union and that our carrier (Manuel **) was a long-term employee and he was able to pick his choice of routes. He has received complaints before, but every time supervisor Marvin goes with him for a "ride along", he behaves and never drives on the sidewalk.

Supervisor Marvin stated that we could e-mail him the video clips along with a copy of the original complaint letter from June and he would "take action". He verified that carrier Manuel ** was a problem carrier and had been written up several times, in fact Marvin stated that Manuel's personnel file was "this thick" (indicating the size by his fingers). I asked for the e-mail address for the Postmaster, but he said she wouldn't be able to view the videotape, that we should forward to his personal e-mail address and he had a way of forwarding it along and would do so. He stated that she would call us after reviewing the letter and videos.

March 3, 2011: I received a phone call from EBMUD (Water Company) that mail was returned with a sticker that said, "Undeliverable". We were delinquent on our water bill because the bill was returned as they assumed we moved.

March 8, 2011: We received a phone call from Chase Credit Card Services that our Visa account was past due because of non-payment, and the bill being returned to their office unopened.

Mail was also sporadically withheld, sometimes 2-days in a row.

Saturday, April 9, 2011: We were having lunch on the front patio and witnessed carrier Manuel ** zipping past our house, driving on the sidewalk, without stopping at our home to deliver mail.

We drove down to the post office and again spoke with supervisor Marvin. I advised Marvin that my next stop would be to the Orinda Police Department. Marvin again stated that he has done all he could do. He said that carrier Manuel just arrived and he was going to check his bag to see if our mail was in there. He came back and said that there was no mail addressed to us.

April 12, 2011: My mail order Rx was not received, but was guaranteed for delivery on this day. We went into the Orinda Police Department and filed a complaint. Officer Grey stated that he could not assist me with carrier Manuel retaliating (withholding mail, returning mail and breaking DVDs), but he could observe the carrier to see if he drove on the sidewalk and issue a citation if he did. He further verified that carrier Manuel was in violation by driving on the sidewalk and creating unsafe conditions for bicyclist, pedestrians and children, as we are next door to Orinda Intermediate School.

We went into the post office again to inform supervisor Marvin that I had been to the police department and we only wanted to receive our mail, unopened and unharmed! At this point, we were sure that our mail was being tampered with and we were being retaliated against. Marvin said that he didn't know what to do. He would recommend removing Manuel ** from the Orinda Post Office, which is what he wanted to do, but his hands were tied. He said that every time he does a "ride along" with Manuel, he obeys all traffic laws and there is no problem. He further stated that another Orinda resident complained about carrier Manuel; I did not understand the details, but something about an accident.

Marvin stated that he has forwarded all of our letters, e-mails, complaints and videos to Maria, the Orinda Postmaster and that if I wanted to meet with her, she was very busy and I would have to take time off work and make an appointment during early morning hours. I work in San Francisco and am at work before the Orinda Post Office opens to the public.

April 18, 2011: A former postal employee referred me to the USPS Postal Inspection office. I called, and after several conversations, was referred to my local USPS Consumer Affairs office. I was told to call Elma **. I called today and left a very detailed message. (Note: 3 weeks have transpired and my call has not been returned.)

April 26, 2011: I left a message for Kim ** with the Consumer Affairs Postal office. (Note: 2 weeks have transpired and no returned call).

May 3, 2011: I called Kim ** with my local Consumer Affairs Postal office and was referred to Lavetta**, assistant to Mr. Oscar **. I was told Mr. ** would be able to assist. I left a very detailed message. (1 week has transpired and I have not received a return call.)

Last week and this week, we have had a total of 3 Netflix DVDs returned to Netflix. We have had an account with them for over 10-years and have never experienced delivery problems on their end. These movie rentals are being opened, placed in a "return to sender envelope" and returned back to them. We are not doing this. Additionally, our mailbox door is left wide open most every day, while other homeowners’ mailbox doors are politely shut.

May 7, 2011: Last Saturday, at approximately 12:30 pm, we were driving up Ivy Drive, headed to our home. We saw our mail carrier, Manuel ** crest the top of Ivy Drive in front of us driving towards us. We passed him and made a U-turn to observe if he would again drive on the sidewalk or bypass our home.

We videotaped Manuel driving on the sidewalk as he customarily does! Front and rear right tires are on the sidewalk, while his left front and rear tires are on the asphalt, in the Bike Lane. Manuel drove down Ivy Drive on the sidewalk. He skipped our house completely! He paused approximately 50 feet in front of our home for about a minute (maybe going through our mail and putting it elsewhere). We had mail addressed, stamped and in need of pickup, not only did he not deliver our mail, but he did not stop to pick up the mail in our mailbox. He continued to drive down Ivy Drive on the sidewalk. The sidewalk ends in front of the Orinda Intermediate School bus off-loading and soccer/baseball field, where many children play on weekdays and weekends. When he arrived at the end of the sidewalk, he drove off the curb/sidewalk directly in front of a blind corner (fence with greenery) where children or pedestrians could have suddenly appeared! In the video we took, you can see the USPS vehicle jar as it comes down hard from the sidewalk onto the street.

We went to our mailbox, picked up the mail, which he did not stop to collect, and drove to the Orinda Post Office. The office closed 30-minutes before and after several minutes of knocking on the doors (we could see them behind the counters), we dropped off our mail in the slots, unable to speak to anyone.

We called an hour later and spoke to Manuel's supervisor, Marvin. He told us that there were three (3) other complaints against Carrier Manuel. I explained what had just transpired and that we were certain that we were being retaliated against at this point. We further explained that we have a video proving today's events. Marvin seemed surprised that Postmaster Maria still has not returned our calls or addressed our concerns as he claims he has forwarded everything to her. We asked to have our mail be put on "hold" so that we can pick it up from the Orinda Post Office. At this point, we are afraid of severe retaliation. Obviously, our complaint was not anonymous and he is retaliating against us.

May 9, 2011: I called the Consumer Affairs office again and reached Lavada, who triaged my call in the office. I told her that I called a week ago and nobody returned my call. I told her that we were ready to retain legal counsel as we have had to put our mail on "vacation hold" to stop our carrier from tampering with our mail due to retaliation. She asked a couple of questions and stated that she would have Mr. ** call me back.

May 11, 2011: After another 2-days of not receiving a call back, I called Kim ** office. I explained that I would like to speak with someone who would be able to deal with this issue. I was forwarded to Lavada's direct line. Lavetta remembered my call from Monday. She then said, "Can I ask you something? Do you know your carrier?" I stated that I knew he delivered our mail, but didn't understand what she meant. She said, "This sounds personal to me, I was curious if you had a relationship with him or something? Because why would a postal carrier do these things to you? I just don't understand why he would do this? It sounds strange to me." I replied with, "Why wouldn't he do this?" (I have not fabricated one iota! My partner and I have been the victims here and I shouldn't have to defend myself against someone who is not only violating the law, but certainly some code of ethics of being a "public employee.) I further explained that this has been going on for years and I am tired of spending my time defending my right to be treated with respect, and receive my mail and not be retaliated against.

Lavada was very kind and listened to what I had to say, and patched me through to the Orinda Post Office where we left a message for Marie, the Postmaster. I explained that I was leaving work within minutes and would be home to take her call. Lavada said that I could forward to her my letters of complaint, videos of the carrier driving on our sidewalk and not stopping to deliver mail, or check our mailbox! When I reached home at 5 pm, there was no message from Marie. I drove down to the post office to pick up our mail (which there is only 5 pieces for 4-days of no delivery). I asked to speak with Marie, but she was not in at 5:30.

I drive past Orinda Oaks Park, which is next to our home. Almost daily I see our postal carrier sitting in there in his USPS vehicle, reading or eating (between 4 and 5 PM). I know he recognizes our vehicles as well.

May 12, 2011: I arrived to work and Postmaster left a voicemail from the day before. I e-mailed to Lavada the documents along with the videos.

The e-mail was returned because the USPS mail server could not deliver all of the letters, videos and attachments. I called Lavada to ask if there was another method of delivery. She called back with Marie the Orinda Postmaster on the line and Marie left another message for me that she would be there for "20-minutes". I e-mailed Lavada asking if there was another form of e-mail delivery for all of these documents. She replied to my e-mail that Marie left another message for me, and I should speak with her now. She did not answer my question. I called Lavada back again and stated that I would like to send these documents to her. I now feel Lavada is passing us off, as she told me that Marie the Postmaster was the only one who could help me at this point! I again shared with Lavada that this has been going on for years! Because of the nature of this, I would like to speak with someone who is over the Orinda Post Office. I was told that I could file a complaint with an entity over the local office. Lavada said that I could fax her letters. She said that there are budget cuts and the postmaster is doing all she can, which is why she has not responded over the past several months.

I cannot believe that I have been calling for a month and no response from the USPS, just putting me off or trying to pass me off to the local post office wherein the problem originated.

We don't know what else to do. Our taxes are paying the carrier's salary and we are being retaliated against. Is our carrier a homophobe with issues about our sexual orientation? Or is he simply being mean and spiteful because we have complained? We deserve to receive our mail, unopened, not tampered with and unharmed. Additionally, we have been threatened with bogus notices, as well as anyone who parks in front of our mailbox. Mail delivery has been withheld, and continues to be withheld as well as not picked up from our mailbox. Carrier Manuel continues to drive on a public sidewalk, which is not only against the law and very unsafe, but our taxes are paying for the upkeep on these city sidewalks. They are not meant to withstand a vehicle driving on them. We have already had one problem with our sidewalk and have needed repairs.

At this point, I am requesting that he be removed from our route. For years, he has driven on the sidewalk without receiving any reprimand. He continues to jeopardize the safety of children and pedestrians. He has left nasty notes on our vehicles for the past few years. He has withheld the delivery of our mail. He has placed, "Not Deliverable" stickers on two of our bills. Our Netflix DVDs have been broken. They have also been opened and put back into a "return" envelope without us receiving them! He has driven right past our house without stopping to deliver or pick up mail in the mail box! Ever since we began complaining in person and via mail /e-mail, he has retaliated against us. I do not feel that he will have the respect, courtesy or integrity to deliver our mail, obey traffic laws and not retaliate at this point. This is why our mail continues to be held at the post office. I am very certain that if /when this issue is dealt with or disciplinary action administered, it will only get worse. I hope these problems can be remedied without further retaliation. We do not know what else to do at this point.

Re: Wrongful late fee imposed on BoxM Request Immediate Refund along with long over due Payment of my claim on damaged packages in may 2010 filed in July 2010

On tax day April 15, 2011, I addressed a Santa Monica postal staff member (approx 17", 130 lbs, 5' 4" ish blk hair, hispanic, 40s, slight acne blemishes, not a supervisor). I asked her at that time to assist with me with the postal machine which was offering errors. I informed her I was not sure the time due date of my box ** , CA but wished to pay with credit card on the machine. She informed me my box was "current". When I returned on April 18, 2011, though I still had not received any notification or bill in the box or mail to day, and was awaiting re assign of my password online, my key would not work.

I went to the counter of the same clerk, she stated she looked in the system. Assured me the box was current and not due and she handed me my mail long with a key for a parcel in the locked bin. I still have documentation of my machine transactions on that date for verification.

When I returned May 11, 2011, to retrieve my new ATM card, the same clerk was standing at that front of the intake line guiding customers. I asked her could she physically try my box and tell me why I could not get in. At this time she stated it was overdue and closed. She acknowledged our prior conversations over this matter when I tried to resolve with her twice before. She stated she could not give me my mail ,delivery confirmation package nor ATM. She I need to wait for a supervisor, though the person was on the phone.

I waited patiently the first 15 minutes despite chronic joint pain and being late for an appointment. When I asked the initial clerk could she simply hand me my mail so I would return later in day and resolve. She rudely broadcast in the lobby, "it is like your rent when you late you are locked out." I reminded her of the numerous times she stated the box was current and questioned why are there so many errors at this location including my twice standing in line for certified letter, they informed me did not exist and I never received, in addition to my and others damaged packages. She in very unprofessional manner stated, "why don't you get a box in another city." I replied and reminded her I live here in the city of Santa Monica. When I advised her I would wait 15 minutes more before filing a complaint, she stated, "if you want your ATM, I suggest you wait."

At that time, numerous more customers two at that moment were voicing complaints of mail. Something I too have encountered twice in recent months at this location. In other California cities I have resided, I have never had these issues. When I asked the initial clerk and Alice their names, the initial clerk turned her name badge over, the clerk 04 conveniently had hers off and initially Alice pretended not to know what I asked. When Alice, the supervisor came to the counter still on her mobile phone, I addressed the issues calmly.

Though her continues erroneous displacement of blame on me, "I don't believe you did not receive the notice, if other people did", when asked why the other clerk stated it was current, reply of supervisor, "I do not mind other peoples business, I did not have to give you the mail." This is all documented on a live call to bank for later subpoena. She held on to my mail as though I was a child, looked through my mail, which I later found my chase letter open, refused to hand me my parcel, knowing I needed to activate the ATM to pay what ever fee. I phoned my bank, and the phone call and entire conversation of this non professionalism of the postal staff is on record with the bank, as I asked the bank about replacement of the ATM card they initially held hostage. Still when I picked up this mail, there were notices of bills in there, nor the certified letter of a month ago.

I paid $46 bill #** to clerk 04, who I note was professional and doing what the supervisor instructed her. I was forced to pay these erroneous fee generated by postal error to obtain my ATM card. Despite telling the supervisor and initial clerk, I did not wish to be forced to activate my ATM card in a public place to pay them to obtain my mail they held hostage, they persisted with this bullying, regardless. I am formally requesting my $15 overage be returned to me via the mail in either money order or cashier check sent to Renita **, **.

Since I addressed these inappropriate acts, it has been continuous mounting problems. With California's high unemployment rate, as a couple other wronged customers voiced, there are sufficient affable people actually residing in the city of Santa Monica, who would perform these postal duties without the aggression and dismay of the job. I, last month listened to a gentleman two patrons ahead voice his anger with lost mail with this location and stated he did not have the problem with his normal will rogers Los Angeles location. I appreciate your immediate resolution of this matter.

I had not even paid for the box nor did I put a change of address yet. Ever since that day, I haven't received any mail. It’s been 3 weeks now, people and businesses are calling and asking if I have received any mail from them. I am a health worker who receives checks, bills letters and so on. I have not seen any of my mail that used to come regularly each month. I talked to Lenore, the supervisor and Gaegano, the manager and they were of no help. I sent a package to my daughter containing headphones using Priority Mail. Using the online print and ship service, I entered my daughter's email address so she is notified of the shipping information. When the package was supposed to be delivered, my daughter was not home so the following business day, she called the local postal office in Oxnard to report the missing box. She was told that they will talk to the carrier and call her back. Upon learning of this problem, I called the USPS 800 number and was given a case number and was told that someone will be contacting me in 2 business days. After 4 days of not hearing from them, I called to follow up on the case. I was then given the direct number to the delivering office, the same office my daughter contacted, so I called them and I was told that they will investigate and call me back.

Days later, with no word from them, I called the office again and again was told that they will investigate and get back to me later that day; it was a Saturday. The following Monday, I called them again and told them how disappointed I was with the customer service this office provides and asked to give me an answer one way or another. I was then told by the supervisor that the package scanned as delivered. That I know though my daughter never saw the box. I asked what options do I have and was told that without insurance, I have none.

My feeling was that, it was their negligence that caused this package to get lost but I was given the "tough luck" response by these people. I even explained to them that where I live, when a package is undeliverable, the post person leaves me a notice in my mail box so I can pick up the box the following business day. When my daughter finally caught up with the delivery person, she was told that the package was left at her door step since it's easier to leave it there than go back to her parcel box to put it there. I'm not convinced that it was delivered to her and mysteriously disappeared. But regardless of what really happened, the only thing clear to me was that I shipped this package using USPS service and it never got to the destination, to my daughter. They lost it but to them, it's my fault for not paying for additional insurance for it.

Yesterday she said that she was threatened (not sure if true) so she discontinued her route on our block. The biggest complaint is that if the bills are not out on time then there is a penalty that I have to pay for my payments being late. She is a really nice lady but something has to give. Anyone else that takes over her route doesn't seem to have the problems she has and we even get our mail a lot earlier in the day. I don't buy it. Cards don't just fall out of their envelopes even if they are not sealed. My brother is certain the envelope was sealed properly when he dropped it in the slot and he and I are convinced that someone within the postal service opened it, removed the contents, taped it, closed and mailed it anyway.

We were planning to move from Columbus to Pennsylvania on Feb 14, 2011. I went to the post office and picked up a form for an address change. I placed it in the outbox of my community on Feb 11, 2011. We also spoke with my regular mail carrier the day before our move to let him know that we were moving, because we were still getting mail at the house. He said he did not receive the change of address form, but would hold our mail until he did.

After living at our new home for about 4 weeks, we did not receive any forwarded mail. I call the Polaris Carrier Unit post office (the number and address included on this complaint form) and they said they did not have a record of my change of address. They also told me I should speak with the carrier to inquire about the held mail. That mail had apparently been returned to the sender in all cases.

I decided to place a second request with the representative to change my address, but they could not do it over the phone. A call the next day to the manager gave me different facts and that the address could be changed over the phone. Two weeks later (around April 1st), we still had no forwarded mail. I decided to file another change of address, this time using the online form through the USPS website. We also called the post office to find the whereabouts of our missing mail. They indicated that they had file of an online request (which was just processed) and also another request from Feb 21. Several days later, we received the letter confirming this change of address, dated Feb 21.

Upon receiving this letter (but no other forwarded mail) we called the post office again, and they had no idea where our mail was, except that it was probably returned to the senders. They also advised us to contact Consumer Affairs of Ohio. Since this last call, we have received about 8 pieces of forwarded mail, 2 of which were advertisements.

Finally, my wife received a personal mail at her new place of employment. The envelope contained the original letter that was returned from our old address, and in this letter were the family's new health insurance membership cards. The label on the envelope stated that it was undeliverable as addressed and returned to sender. The date on the label was March 9, which was after the date shown on the change of address verification letter. My wife was transferred with this move, and forms were mailed to the old address which were important for tax and insurance purposes. Because we did not receive this mail in a timely manner, we are at risk of losing medical insurance and other benefits. The company has provided us with an alternative way of providing the required information, but there will be a delay in the processing and a gap in benefits may be created.

I've been receiving other people's mail in my P.O. Box continuously for the past three to four weeks. I went up to the counter several times to inform them of this because the mail I received were marked "confidential" and came from medical facilities or banks. They explained that there was a new person being trained and that they knew that there was an issue with mail being delivered improperly. They then put a post it note on my box asking the new person to carefully confirm the box number and name when placing mail in it. I explained that it was unacceptable that such confidential items would be mishandled.

Today, I went to pick up my payroll check that has always arrived in my P.O. Box on the same day of the week for the past nine months that I've been employed with my current employer but it wasn't there. I called my employer and it had been mailed at the usual time.

I asked the clerk to please check the boxes around mine since there have been so many items wrongly placed in my P.O. Box. They found a few other items addressed to me in other people's mailboxes but they did not find my payroll check. My employer does not offer direct deposit and it's payroll department is out of the area so I can't pick it up.

Like many others, I certainly depend on the post office to deliver my check to my P.O. Box. It is completely unacceptable that they would allow someone, who they know has a history of mishandling the mail, to continue working there for a month or more without taking any corrective measures, aside from a post it note to be more careful which obviously wasn't very effective.

Then when I called many hours later, another supervisor told me that the mail carrier put a moved notice. This is inconsistent and I'm not happy about this at all. I need to get my mail at my apartment.

Mail delivery in my area was suspended because the mail carrier was robbed. My complaint is the post office refuses to hand out mail after 4 p.m. I can not pick my mail up prior to this time because I have a job like most red-blooded Americans in this city. I tried to file a complaint with the manager and he hung up on me. I tried to contact the corporate office and they were no help either. I need my mail to either be delivered or the post office needs to be able to hand me my mail at whatever time I arrive as long as it is within their normal hours of operation. I am not asking them to create new hours; however, the customer should not be the one inconvenienced.

I had a package sent to me from Oakland to Orange county, ca. That package was refused for delivery by Oakland post office. I called several times with excuses ranging from not enough postage, wrong zip code, sent to the wrong post office and that it was reset to Orange county. A few days after I opened a claim, they called me up saying they had my package at Oakland and it would be available to pick up. They would not send it to a post office in Orange. I'd have to pick it up in Oakland!

So I drove though the night up to Oakland to get my package. On arrival I spoke to a woman who said she had put a note on it the night before and it would be in the back room. She came back looking confused and told me that the package was then missing and she didn't know where it had gone. So I drove about 500 miles for a missing package. It's been two weeks and they still can't tell me what happened to it.

When you fill out a pink card, that states that they hold mail for up to 30 days and General Delivery Service lasts as long as the person needs it, indefinitely. The woman keeps having me fill out new pink cards, and states that we only receive General Delivery Service for 30 days; then it has to be re-applied for. Meanwhile, she sent back my mail that I have been waiting for which hadn't even been there for 30 days.

I have been in the area almost three months, and have only been able to get 2-pieces of mail from these people. I had to call the police, to explain to the woman that she doesn't understand the mail definition. I still didn't get my mail, and I am waiting for my new California ID card, so I can get elsewhere on with my life. She stated that she sent it back. ID is very important, and she's keeping us from having it. I have an out-of-state Driver's license that is still valid, and I wanted to use the California ID as a second photo ID, for this state, so I can get work. This woman has my life on hold and I am unable to continue forward until I receive my mail.

I was told that the package should arrive in two to three business days.

Ten days later, I called the Post Office because the package had not arrived at its destination. I was told by a USPS representative to call the Customer Complaint Department. On March 24th 2011 at 11:00am, I called 800-275-8777 and filed a complaint. I was a promised a call back from the USPS within two days but I never received a call, so I called them numerous times again.

There is no means if you don't buy insurance with priority mail, which is not clear and they have no tracking system of where that package is. I am now in dispute with the buyer over this issue. USPS should have some liability over lost packages with tracking info, which the package was lost between the sort facility and the receiving post office. Two packages that had track and confirm #s ** & ** were sent to the mail recovery unit. International mail I was told is treated differently from domestic. I was told that unless there is a packing slip or invoice inside the package with my address on it, that they will not be able to deliver it to me nor send it back to the origin of delivery. Another thing is that the MRC does not scan International mail when it comes in. Royal Mail gives me the information that it should be sent to their Return Mail and Recovery Service, and not ours. So, why in the world would we have a track and confirm number if we are unable to use it for locating a package? This is a huge financial loss for me as the items involved would total about 526.00 GBP; this amounts to 844.007 USD

This is criminal negligence. My package should have been signed for by me at my local P.O. How is it that exactly two separate packages, on separate dates and times, could be sent to them? Something just doesn't seem right. The fact that there is a way to track my package and they refuse to do so has caused me to feel that the USPS can't seem to get it together and that maybe this is an underhanded way for them to make money. This has caused me a great deal of stress and suspicion when it comes to the USPS. I will never use them in the future and will request others to send mail to me by way of FedEx and UPS.

Those items were never scanned anywhere, and never received by my best friend or mother in law.

Before realizing that there was an issue with the first two packages, I mailed two more packages from home, carrier pick up. These items also were never scanned, or delivered. They were mailed on March 20, 2011 (tracking numbers: ** and **). When contacting your 1-800-ASK-USPS number I am certainly frustrated by the attitude of, "Oh, well, you didn't purchase insurance." My postmaster assured me on March 24, when I went in to speak to him personally about the matter, that he would look into it and investigate. Yet, he seemed to have no knowledge of the two claims I had opened on this situation! Claim numbers are ** and **.

I heard back from the local P.O. via "Tim" on Monday, March 28, stating that he is still investigating, but that it "doesn't look good." I would honestly like to know what my carrier has to say for himself! The first two packages that were "missing" were gifts worth around $40; the second two were vivarium plants worth a combined $40. A fifth package, not mailed Priority Mail, but in a bubble envelope with four stamps on it, has also gone missing. It was picked up with the packages on March 20. When we are away from our residence for any length of time, we request to have our mail held. This request has not been met on various occasions. The first time this happened, mail was delivered intermittently, i.e. one day it was delivered, the next it was not. The second time we requested, it was held, we were gone for 10 days. During this entire time, our mail was delivered! This past week, we requested it be held for 3 days beginning March 24, to be delivered again on the 28th. It was held on the 24th and 25th and delivered on the 26th!

The 10-day period was quite concerning and upon arriving home, we figured our mail had been held. When it was not delivered after 2 days we called our post office. They merely stated that they had no idea what happened to our mail and did not seem to be concerned. We finally were able to locate it as our neighbor had noticed the mail was piling up in our box and picked it up for us. This was fortunate because we live in a rural location and are very careful not to leave our mail in our box, even over night. The box is also located quite a way's down our driveway, so is not easily visible from our house. Our mail carrier apologized for the 10-day wrong delivery, but I don't believe. It is his fault since the hold mail request goes through our local post office and not the carrier himself.

This past week, we put the formal request in our mail box for our carrier. The mail still got delivered. Needless to say, we are very upset about this. We feel we should be able to trust that our local government postal service be reliable and we do not know what we are to do the next time we leave town knowing our mail may sit in our box. If a check is stolen out of our box while we are gone, who is responsible for this when we have asked that our mail be held? Please note that at times, the mail has been held as requested. However, we do not feel very confident when turning in a request any longer.

Twice in two months the USPS has failed me. This is getting very bothersome. In January, we had a major snowstorm and my mailbox was basically destroyed. I submitted a hold mail request while we had the problem taken care of. I specified that I would pick the mail up at the post office. On the day that I had specified, I drove to the post office in the next town over (we have one in town, but the mail is not held there; go figure) to pick up my mail. They could not find anything for us. I knew my tax return was there, so I was really nervous. I got back home, and lo and behold, my mail is sitting in the mailbox, drenched, with the hold mail confirmation stating "customer will pick up mail at post office" sitting on top of the drenched pile. I dried out my tax return, filed a complaint, and went along my merry way.

About a month later, we moved to a neighboring town. I filled out the change of address form online for a "Family Move" and paid the dollar to confirm. I also began changing my address with all of the organizations that send me mail, as did my husband. About 2 weeks later, I was unable to access one of my credit cards. They told me that I had changed my address and never responded to the letter they sent (that was sent to my old address to confirm that I was, in fact, not there). The letter was never forwarded. I fixed that issue with the credit card and about two more weeks went by.

We stopped by our old apartment and realized that the mailbox was filled to the brim with a month's worth of mail! There was a check for my husband, the credit card notice, various bills (that I pay online, so I thought nothing of) and a birthday card for my stepdaughter. Again, sitting there with the confirmation letter stating that we had changed our address sitting on top of the pile!!Of course, I called the USPS, and when I finally got through to an actual human being, all she could say was "Sorry, we'll look into it. " If I "forget" to pay my taxes, the government will not accept a "sorry, I'll look into it," but it is okay for a government organization to "forget" about my family's security with an "oopsie! "

From March 2 - March 10, I repeatedly called into Chester post office and spoke to various supervisors about not receiving mail in over a month. I was told repeatedly to call back because the carrier was out sick. After a week when the carrier returned, I was told that she was sending my mail back because "does not live here" was written on some mail. I explained that I "do" live on River Tree and unless I submit a change of address in writing, my mail should continue to be delivered to my home. The supervisor stated this will continue to happen as long as "does not live here" is written on the mail and to next time write "refused". I reiterated that again, unless I change my address with the post office, my mail is still to be delivered to my home regardless. I did begin to receive some mail, however on March 21 there was a note on key stating I had a parcel in P2 and to retrieve my package. When I looked at P2 there was already a key in there and the box was open and empty. I tried the key in P1 with no luck.

I immediately called the supervisor again, and spoke to Carrie. She told me to try P1 and I told her I did. She asked me to call back tomorrow in which I did. Again, I was told that the package would be in the parcel. It still was not there. By this time it's March 24, when I checked again and still no key. I spoke to Carrie again and she allegedly verified with carrier that package is in P2 and will leave the key. When I got home, there was still no package. Because it has been a week and I have not received my package, I went up to the post office on March 25. I spoke to postmaster Kim ******* and explained the situation. After she spoke with the carrier she told me the key would be in the box today. I asked her for the key or package now. She exclaimed the carrier does not have the package and it's in the parcel. I told her I was told by the supervisor, Carrie, yesterday that the package was in P2. Kim ******* said the carrier doesn't know which parcel it's in and she will put the key in my box at mail delivery later today. I also explained to her that I haven't been receiving mail for over a month because the carrier had been sending it back but that I was receiving it now. I went on to say how this is redundant behavior with the carrier either sending my mail back and now not delivering packages appropriately.

I got the impression that Ms. ******* was uncaring and didn't say much. She did offer the main number to the post office and her last name in case I have another problem. I explained to her that I can't continue to take off work and call the post office almost daily about these things. I also asked her to talk to the carrier in which Ms. ******* kept reverting back to the package being in the parcel. There are two parts of the complaint and I feel Ms. ******* is not trying or does not care about resolving the issue of the behavior with the carrier. I was quite concerned and called Ms. ******* back and told her just that. That I feel she was uncaring and just wanted to rush me out of the post office and was not really interested in helping resolve the whole issue. Again, she seemed uncaring in tone and just not listening to my needs as a customer. I have had important mail returned that I never received (i.e., pay check stubs, bank statements, bills, etc.) and I have taken off excessive time from work to call at least twice a day or visit in person and the problem with the mail carrier is still not resolved. Please help.

Our non-regular carrier, by the name of Conrad, is one of the laziest people I know. He comes to our location once or twice a week, when our regular carrier is not here. We are a business and have packages that need to go out. He does not take any of our packages. He leaves all of our boxes here and waits until our regular carrier comes and picks up days' worth of packages. This is not the post office policy. If I have packages, he must pick them up. If he does not have space, he should call another truck to come and pick up our packages.

I know for a fact that he must pick up our packages because my uncle is a carrier. My uncle told me that they must pick up our packages, no matter how much we have. This information was also verified by a USPS commercial that I saw the other day. The commercial was advertising USPS flat rate boxes. The commercial stated, "We will pick up as many packages as you have." So, I know he is not doing his job correctly.

I have also complained to corporate about this issue on USPS.COM. They did not handle that matter well at all. In fact, they didn't resolve the issue at all. They told me we must pay fifteen dollars a day if we want a guarantee that all of our packages are to be picked up on a daily basis. This is also not true because of the commercial that I saw and I also asked my uncle, and he said that all of our packages are to be picked up, no matter how many we have. This only happens when Conrad is filling in for our regular carrier. Our regular carrier does her job perfectly every time.

She further stated that he said the doors weren't marked and he took a guess and left my son's package at the incorrect door.

The fill in carrier stated that since it was a secure building, he didn't think much of leaving it at a door albeit the incorrect door. I asked the regular carrier why he didn't just leave a parcel slip in my mailbox and just taken it back to the main post office then I would have picked it up? She said in so many words that he thought it was too much work and he wasn't the kind of mail person that went that extra step to ensure that the mail is delivered to the correct recipient. I would also like to add that when I went into the main post office, the person that helped me, Michelle ** was not very helpful. This is the same person that I left two messages with last Friday and she never returned my call.

The carrier did not take the time to ensure that he was at the correct building; let alone the correct apartment number. He acted erroneously and because he doesn't take pride in his job or care that people receive their mail/packages in a timely manner, my son paid $65.00 of his hard-earned money and now is made to suffer for someone else's error. I live on a limited income and have for years. By the time I get the notice, I have no money left for that month to pay, I have always paid on the first of the month since that is when I get paid. Only this time I was locked out.

I had to stand in line for two weeks to get my mail. Apparently nobody could do anything to help me except the box clerk who apparently only works in the mornings. I have severe insomnia and can not get to the post office before 11am. Finally I had to suggest to the staff that the box clerk fix the problem, give one of the counter employees the combination so they could give it to me so I could finally get my mail.

With regard to trying to get my box unlocked currently, I placed a letter in the slot for the Supervisor of the Civic Center Post Office explaining my situation including my payment schedule and my past payment habits. Even though I left my phone number I have heard nothing. I called the post office in order to find out how much it would cost to get the box unlocked so I could get a loan from a friend and the employee claimed the only person who had that information was the box clerk.

I don't understand why they can not send out the bill the month before it is due, giving me a chance to budget for the rent fee. I don't think it is unreasonable for me to ask for a bit of grace of one day (I had my payment in before 5pm on the first) given my circumstances and given my payment history and given the ** I had to go through in getting my mail when my box was locked due to its needing repair.

I rented a post office box at this location approximately a year ago. I had nothing less than misery since. My family and I did not get mails for a while, so I asked about my delivery to my box. I was informed that it may not come because a change of address takes a little longer. I said, “Okay”, and I went on my way. I went about a week later to complain again. Finally, I received a mail days later. I received a check in the mail that my family and I live off of right now, our only source of income at this time.

I sacrificed to get this box because of the service that was offered to have my mail delivered to this box by 10:30 AM according to their posted sign. It is putting unnecessary strain on my family for our mail to get delivered to our box any given time of the night at 7:00 PM and even later that (I found out after checking for a full day). When I complained, the first approximate five times Mr. ** seemed concerned.

I feel that due to my mail not being delivered as promised and Mr. ** even offering a refund on my box instead of fixing the problem, it has caused hundreds of dollars on late fees for my rent. My children have not been able to get things needed on time. Other bills such as utilities have been late because of late fees for the rent. We have been waiting just to grocery shop at times or get medicines for my spouse and myself. I really would like district managers and whomever else who need to possibly do unexpected visits to understand these complaints are warranted. I do not want a refund back, just better service.

I had a package mailed to me on February 4, 2010 from ** with tracking confirmation number: **. The package arrived at my local post office on February 9, 2010 and it was noted by the USPS that a notice was left. I immediately contacted them to tell them that no noticed was received at my home. On the day it was supposed to have been left, I had maintenance workers at my home most of the day due to a water leak. Therefore, I was home and a notice shouldn't have been left and the package should have been delivered.

I was told by Andrea that what happened was that my regular mail carrier was on vacation and a substitute carrier saw that a change of address was put forth to my address--**; however, the date of forward, 2/21/2010, was overlooked so my package was processed as a forward to a new location. (This applies to two packages but the other package didn't have a tracking confirmation option. The other package was mailed from Pennsylvania and it was returned to the sender. I have since paid an additional postage fee of $9.00 to have it reshipped to me!) Double the postage due to the incompetence of a substitute postal worker.

The package with the tracking confirmation number is still, to this day, March 4, 2010, missing and no one can tell me exactly where it is. However, it is stating Arrival at Unit, Feb-26-11, 06:13 AM, **. I have no idea what the "Unit" meant and when I last spoke to the USPS, they said that it was being returned to sender. Therefore, if that's the case, I will have to pay another postage fee if I want my property. I cannot understand how they can't be responsible for the additional postage fees due to the original error that occurred from a substitute postal worker in which they employ.

I am held accountable for my actions and mistakes that I make. Why aren't they? I am having to pay the price for this and I don't have the money to pay for someone else's mistakes! According to them, there is nothing they can do--I disagree. They can take money for a service and not have to deliver (follow through) to me--that sounds like a scam (robbery). I can provide the complete address and emailed correspondence with the seller of the package that was returned which cost me an additional $9.00 to receive my items.

I visited the Postal Facility where I have most of my mail going. I have been using P.O. Boxes since I discovered that my carriers were becoming friends with the leasing or apartment rental agents and rather than returning the mail or delivering my mail, they have been handing over my mail to the rental agents. While living at **, the carrier delivered my computer software to Devin, the sales manager who kept it. After complaining to the company that I purchased the software from, who contacted the postal services, one month later, Devin finally gave me my software claiming that he forgot to give it to me.

When I asked the Ypsilanti Branch Post Master, Mrs. ** stated that it was allowable to hand over my mail to a stranger simply because I pay them rent! When asked if that specific manager or apartment complex had a contract with the USPS to handle tenant's mail, Mrs. ** said no. Then, I asked, "Why would you feel that it was appropriate to give my mail with all of the offenses applied to opening someone else's mail to the rental agent?" Virgil ** then stated, "Because we make attempts to deliver at the addresses." I told him, "But you didn't put the mail in the box, you gave it to an individual!" There is a difference. How did they pass their entrance evaluation for employment if they have a hard time understanding that? The public is aware, why are their interpretation different from what the public is expected to understand?

Again, at the Saline branch, Tina **, a worker, gave me her email address last year (where I was uncomfortable). I took it because I didn't want her to be offended enough to destroy or tamper with my mail. As it is, I had intense discussion with Virgil ** of the main branch at the Ypsilanti location who said to me, "I am tired of you and your family. And if the senders wanted you to have your mail, they would send it with a return receipt or pay extra." The mail that was missing, at that time, happened to have come from the IRS and the computer software company. I feel that I am being sabotaged and that my mail is being mishandled by internal employees who are doing favors for friends about the community.

What is more, Tina told me yesterday when I asked where my mail was (as I have not received mail in three business days) that "We were doing you a favor." I never asked for any favors! Karen also made the statement that she would take my information home and make corrections because "I am off the clock and I have to get home to get my kid." Karen made me feel that if I didn't agree to let her take my mail home, I wouldn't get it anymore. When I had objections, Tina ** started making me feel as If I were causing a scene and the postal master was running around so busy that she left me to be handled by her subordinates.

I routinely mail myself letters to make sure that I am getting my mail or ask another business owner to mail me a letter to ensure that I am getting my mail. None of these letters have reached my P.O. Box. My customers also have mail delivered to my P.O. Box as I help set up new businesses. Both Tina and Karen decided that whereas the address was correct, because the name was not **, they sent it back causing delays in processing DBA for other businesses that I am structuring.

For that, I have had to offer refunds of services and perform some free of charge as to remedy. I am concerned that they have taken this personally and are intentionally not delivering my mail because I raised question about their practices or other personal reasons. Please look into this because I need my mail! Also, they are putting my mail in a Tiffany **'s box who has brought me my mail on several occasions. Some mail contained private ID numbers and had been opened. Tiffany states that it was already open when she got the mail. I can't accuse her. I have mail to the P.O. Box, how can they be getting that wrong? It doesn't leave the building and they deliver at their leisure.

I also have forwards from all of my last addresses because I am a sole proprietorship. I must receive all mail and sometimes, when not interacting with other businesses, I most often overlook sending them an updated mailing contact. Therefore, I submit the forwards to catch missed vendors, businesses, or from marketing where old printed materials suggest other P.O. Boxes.

If you check my web site, **, you will see the updated address. Again, my issues are with your employees doing favors for friends outside the U.S. Postal Services. I am with anxiety as I am not sure what to do at this point. These events explain a lot of mishaps for my developing business. Who are they helping? Please advise.

Then, it was sent to Bedford Park, Illinois that same day, where it currently sits according to their customer service department. I've spoken to two different supervisors and both of them insist it is the responsibility of the German Post office. I asked how an error like this could happen as Joliet bears no resemblance to Worth or Bedford Park. They don't know. They will do nothing to help me stating that the sender must start an inquiry for the item. He is out of town and cannot do anything in the near future. So now my item is in limbo. No one within the USPS will even call Bedford Park Post Office to fix the problem. It is the "pass the buck" syndrome. No one is responsible for sending my item to two completely different addresses other than the one that is on the parcel.

After carefully reviewing your letter to us dated February 2, 2011, it appears that you, as the representative for United States Postal Service, is unconcerned about our mail being tampered with, stolen and sent back to the sender, as if we were not residents here, violating our constitutional and civil rights. As stated earlier, we received some of our mail, but the sensitive mails sent to us, including the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and Florida Commission on Human Relations through the United States Postal Service, was tampered and interfered with for several months resulting in countless pieces of mail being returned--not just two or three pieces.

These actions resulted in 120-day delay of our housing complaint being processed timely. It is unfortunate that the postal carrier only began delivery certified mail directly to our door after the 120 days had passed, and after we notified our local post office of our concerns. (The postal carrier did not give us any certified deliveries to our door until after this period).

Based on these inconsistencies, we have forwarded our complaint, along with related document, along with your letter to the Department of Justice for review and for formal investigation. We are not second class citizens, but citizens of the United States of America. Withholding pertinent evidence, as in this case, is an obstruction of justice, a crime not only against us, but against other parties in similar situations, whose concerns are being left unheard. We will continue to press forward in our efforts to making sure that this type of unethical behavior is addressed. We again reiterate our complaint against U.S. Postmaster General Jacksonville Investigation Division as follows:

This is in response to the recent investigations with regards to our complaint filed with the Jacksonville, Florida Postmaster General Fraud Division on 12/5/10 regarding mail fraud, mail tampering (Mail Fraud 940 18 U.S.C. Section 1341 conspiracy) of our personal, business and certified mails. The investigation conducted by Jacksonville, Florida Post Master General Office was too swift, inadequate, unfair and inconsistent. This should have not have been an open and shut case taken into account the seriousness of the carrier tampering and deliberately withholding and redirecting to the sender. Common sense would tell anyone that a complaint of this serious nature conducted by the Florida Post Master General Office's investigator should have included us, the complainants.

Therefore, the investigation appears to be flawed, conflicting, inconsistent, and based on untruthfulness, fraud and obstruction of justice, this whole investigation sounds suspicious. The carrier trying to cover up his illegal actions involves an alleged criminal conspiracy in concert with employees of Advenir At Stonelake, LLC. In line with this, we have requested the services of the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) to investigate these incidents thoroughly and professionally. This complaint is based on mail fraud and mail tampering, conspiracy, and withholding federal mail (obstruction of justice) in specifically with the Fair Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Florida Commission On Human Relation (FCHR) Certified Mailings.

If the Jacksonville, Florida Postmaster General Fraud Division would have included us, the complainants, in their investigation, they would have taken into account the following:

    1. The complainants filed a fair housing complaint with the Housing & Urban Development Agency (HUD) and the Florida Commission On Human Relations (FCHR), against the property managers, Advenir at Stonelake, LLC for housing violations. Therefore, it is a conspiracy and obstruction of justice to have included any statements from these individuals in any or part of the postal investigation.

    2. Unfortunately, we have not received any of the mail correspondence mailed to us through the United States Postal Service, over a five-month period from the Housing & Urban Development Agency with regards to our complaint dated July 23, 2010 prompting mail-tampering, mail fraud, and conspiracy concerns of our mail by the postal carrier. Sometimes, our mailbox was completely empty after checking it (causing a 150-day delay). There was no business or personal mail for us. Other times, we received mail that was postmarked too many days before we received it, indicating that our mail was being mysteriously held.

    3. It is true that the mail courier deliberately withheld and did not deliver all of our regular mail and certified mail received from the Fair Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Florida Commission On Human Relation (FCHR) with the exception of the most recent certified mail pieces. The most recent certified mails were delivered after we complained to HUD investigators as to why they had not responded to our complaint and they did an investigative inquiry that verified our current address, ** at Advenir Stonelake Apartments statements, with regards to the certified pieces of mails not delivered. We reiterate that our mailbox is checked once or twice weekly by both of us (Mr. & Mrs. Alphonso **). This would explain why many times our mailbox was empty when the postman would hold our mail pieces. Both husband and wife witnessed these incidents.

    4. In another suspicious incident, we recently subscribed to Ocala's Banner Newspaper, free trial newspaper subscription, and this would explain why it was never delivered as it shows proof that we are current residents here, contrary to the statement that we had moved. We checked our mail every other day for several weeks and never received the subscription. We contacted the newspaper company for confirmation of the delivery and were told to watch out for the newspaper deliveries in the mail, which we never received to date.

    5. We were notified by HUD and FCHR investigators that we would be receiving documents from them, which were on their way. It wasn't until November 23, 2010 that we received two certified letters (one from HUD and the other from FCHR). Strangely, on the front of each envelope is noted (second notice checked (this statement is false) to be sent back 12-3-10), although we never received notice for the first delivery attempt. After receiving the only notice in our mailbox, we contacted the postmaster and both certified letters, postmarked 11/17/10, were delivered this time to our upstairs apartment, for the first time ever, by this carrier, where we signed the delivery receipt.

    6. The substitute postal carrier (female) for our route can verify our conversations with her. She is about 5'5," 130 lbs. with short blonde hair and says that she is a server at night. She stated that she has been with the United Post Office for about six years. She substitutes once a week for the current carrier for Advenir Stonelake Apartment complex. This would verify and show that she has spoken with us and that we do monitor our mail pieces.

    7. On November 6, 2010, we signed for a certified mail delivered by an African American (female) for the United States Postal Service; proof that we are available to signoff on certified mailings.

    8. This complaint was filed by two parties: Mr. Alphonso ** and Constance **. We notice that the investigator for the Jacksonville division Postmaster addressed their response only to Mr. **, instead of Mr. & Mrs. **, married for 35 years. This was a dual complaint filed by both parties. Furthermore, we were never asked to sign notarized statement that we never received any certified notices left and posted on our door--which is deemed suspicious.

    9. If this investigation included the management of Advenir at Stonelake, including the property manager, Lena **, it would be unethical, bias and a conflict of interest, and not to mention, obstruction of justice, since we have a pending HUD and FCHR complaint against Advenir at Stonelake, LLC, since July 2010, FCHR Case No. ** and HUD Case No. **.

    10. We found the recent certified notice in our mailbox and not posted on our door as the carrier falsely implied.

    11. The postal carrier should have known that the utility invoice bills and other mails were being picked up regularly by us, that we are the current residents, Mr. & Mrs. Alphonso and Constance **; therefore, should have known that our apartment was not vacant.

    12. We check our mail regularly, at least once or twice a week. We do not leave any mail in our box more than 15 days, and we are in compliance with the United States Postal Service guidelines.

    13. We have been residents since January 2010, and currently. We have not been contacted by the regular carrier with the exception to the most recent certified mail pieces from HUD and FCHR, that we requested to be delivered. This was the only time that we have met the post carrier for Advenir Stonelake Apartments complex. Also, the U.S. Postmaster General Jacksonville Investigation Division statements, including this statement investigation revealed some of our mail, including one or more was returned to the sender after being held the required 15 days per Postal regulations at the Post Office, confirms that our mail has been sent back.

Finally, We are semi-retired and monitor our business daily from home, which means that we are at home 99% of the time. We have never received any certified mail notices on our door here at Advenir Stonelake Apartment **. We monitor all of our mails closely, which includes UPS, FedEx and United States Postal mail.

We reiterate that we learned that the post carrier has been returning these mailings to the sender and not leaving us certified mailing notices, not even as a knock on the door from the postal carrier. FCHR and HUD officials did an investigative inquiry of verification that we, Alphonso and Constance ** have been and are current residents here at Advenir Stonelake Apartments **. The HUD/FCHR officials verified that the mail carrier had been returning these certified mailings to them and making false statements that we were no longer residents here at **.

We deemed these activities as suspicious. We have been residents here at ** since January 2010, to current and regularly retrieve our apartment mailings, once or twice a week. It's ironic that we have been getting our monthly utility invoices with our name on them and other related mailings associated with our apartment **. It wasn't until November 23, 2010, that we finally received a mailing from HUD and FCHR (120 days) after our initial pending complaint.

Finally, we reiterate that we have been residents here at ** since January 2010, to current. Thank you for investigating these serious crimes of mail fraud and tampering. Both the HUD and FCHR complaints are serious and sometimes have placed our family in danger and even life threatening circumstances. Interfering with due process, the service of process, and obstructing justice are serious crimes. This was obviously done to benefit Advenir at Stonelake managers.

Therefore, we are requesting all of the related documents filed with your office including statements from all parties, pertaining to your investigation, be forwarded to us immediately under the Freedom of Information Act. Please respond within five business days with the requested documents.

This coming Monday, February 21, 2011 will be 4 weeks since mailing the package. I really don't understand how this could happen. Most of all, I am disappointed in the lack of care from the United States Postal Service. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I sent an item I sold on eBay on January 31th, 2011. The package tracking was never updated, and now, when I track, message says I can't track online. The customer service is a joke. It takes 5 minutes to finally talk to a "human". They're very unhelpful and rude. Something needs to be done about this. I now have to refund the buyers money. Nobody cares and they're basically just giving me the tough luck speech with everyone I talk to.

I am a daycare provider and work from my home. My job is to pick up and drop off kids from school. I have an assistant in all times to care for the kids that are at home, while I pick up or drop off kids. On Jan 27, 2011, I was on my way to pick up kids, and when I returned to the house, my assistant Ana told me that Laura, a post office employee, had called the police on my assistant claiming that there was no one at home. My assistant told me that she had gone to the trash can that is located on my backyard. When she walked in to the house she had found Laura inside and Ana asked her what she was doing inside the house, Laura told Ana that she had called the police because there was no one inside the house.

My assistant asked Laura why she would do that, that how did she know there was no one home? Laura replied that she had walked in in every room and open them to check if someone was in. My assistant replied, "Don't you see me coming from inside the house?" Laura replied. "You know that you are lying". Laura did not stop there but she also was passing to my house every five minutes. I went to the post office and the supervisor, Bea, was no help at all. She was very ruse to me and she told me to do whatever I wanted, that her employee had already told her the story. She did not bother to listen to me.

I moved second week in January and put a change of address in at that time. At the new address, there was a card in the mailbox to the new tenants. They wanted us to fill out the names of the people to receive mail at the new address. I filled it out, in full, first and last names, gave it to the new carrier. Since being here I have not receive any mail. I just got a phone call from Section 8 housing after I informed them of my new address that my mail was returned to them, saying "Moved. Left no forwarding address." And that they had dropped me from the waiting list after I have been on that list for over two years! When I got my cable service started, the guy on the phone asked me if I was related to Diane ***. I said, "No. Why?" He said that was the name of the person who had service before me. Okay, now it's clicking. They saw the name Jones and have returned all my mail. They did not look at my change of address nor did they look at the service card I filled out, that says MY name Mary A *****.

Okay, now I know what happened, and the Section 8 lady said I need to get a letter from my post office, stating they returned my mail in error. She told me to call the post master. So I called him and he said he would speak to the carrier but he would NOT write me a letter. He said they don't do that sort of thing. So, I asked him if we could do a 3-way call between me, him and section 8 and he could tell him they don't write letters for that. He refused. He said tell section 8 to re-send the letter. So I called the Section 8 lady, Tiffany, back and she says they cannot re-send the letter because the letter was sent out to active people on the waiting list. Since my mail was returned, they made me INACTIVE and therefore she cannot re-send the letter. The only thing that will get me back on the list in my old spot is a letter from my post office. She also told me that although the Post Office does not have a "form" for the letter she needs, stating my mail was returned in error. She has a file FULL of letters from other post masters and managers that some are on regular paper with a stamp from that post office and some are on official letterhead, stating that they made an error in returning someone's mail. So the fact is the Post Master can do it, he is just refusing to do it.

I filed 2 complaints with the post office. My mail is constantly delivered to my neighbors or not at all. Mail that is given to my neighbors are sometimes time sensitive and have resulted in my responding late. Packages have never arrived. Repeatedly, I have requested that a notice be left and my packages taken to the post office, but I find them on my doorstep, those that make it to me, at least. I am incredibly frustrated. I have not received so much as a call back. When I phoned the main Us Postal line, a representative read a response letter she said was being mailed to me. It never arrived, so I am left to believe my complaints were dismissed. I would like to file a federal complaint.

As of Feb. 8, 2011, we still have not received the package. After countless phone calls and emails, we can not get any assistance from the post office. They have possession of our package, but we can not get anyone who even sounds remotely interested in finding our package. Sometimes, customer service is very rude and refusing to forward my call or complaint to a higher level. If they want me to go away, just have someone call me and personally tell me to go away. I just want my package.

The package contents are worth about $350.00, but I don't want the money. I want the package. I want someone at the post office to actually care about finding my package and getting it delivered to me. We have started international inquiries from TNT post in Amsterdam and have done everything everyone has requested. After 3 months, we got a letter from Terry ** from the International Inquiry Center asking us if we got the package. Can you believe that! If we got the package, we would not be going through this. Yesterday, February 7, I was expecting two parcels: one at my home and one at my office. An attempt had been made on Friday, February 4, to deliver the office parcel. On the back of the "UPS InfoNotice" was a notation that to authorize UPS to leave a parcel in my absence, I had to sign my name authorizing them to leave it. I did that and left the paper in plain view on an outside door. When I returned, I found another InfoNotice. After waiting for 15 minutes to talk to a real person, I found that these authorizations are not honoring them because of the fear of theft.

If these authorizations mean nothing, then don't print them! If I thought it would do any good, I would turn the whole mess over to a lawyer who could file suit on a class-action basis. As things stand, I intend to ask for USPS delivery each time I order a parcel. UPS does not know the meaning of the word "logistics."

I also showed the order when applying, as what she told me over the phone, before I went to bring it in. I spoke to the post master, Mr. Tom ** about this misrepresentation and he told me that he would refund me the money that they had charged me--$41.50. I ordered a very expensive pair of roller skates on 01/29/11. The shipper immediately dispatched the merchandise on 01/31/11. UPS picked the package up on the same day. Their website initially stated the package had been picked up and it was scheduled for delivery on 01/02/11. It is now the eve of 01/05/11 (10pm 01/04/11) and the UPS website still only has a scan reflecting the package was picked up, nothing more.

I have called their Customer Service department numerous times requesting additional information. Each representative refuses to provide additional information on the package's whereabouts. One representative went so far as to tell me to "keep my fingers crossed and maybe I would receive the package". The country had experienced adverse weather conditions at the time I placed the order. UPS continues to use "weather" as the reason for the delayed (rather lack of) shipment. One rep told me the weather was so bad in Philadelphia that no trucks could travel. I live in Philadelphia. I was driving and it was a bright sunny afternoon when I was speaking to the rep. This is only one example of UPS' many lies.

What added insult to injury was the fact that I had ordered another pair of skates the day after I ordered the skates discussed in this complaint. However, these skates were shipped via FedEx Ground and had to travel a further distance. The skates shipped through FedEx Ground arrived within 2 days with no incident. FedEx, unlike UPS, found a way to still make deliveries in the inclement weather. After 2 days of continuously calling, I decided to visit the local UPS distribution center to see if the package was in their possession. The service representative was completely uncaring, rude, and unprofessional. Once she was tired of discussing my situation she simply walked away from me and begin working on another package without so much as a "have a nice day". This is clearly customary. One of the tracking representatives hung up on me.

In one last ditch effort I called again to request an investigation on the package to only be told they only initiate a search if it is requested by the shipper. I had to do a little bit of "leg work" to determine who the shipper of my package was since the company I ordered from used a distribution center. I had to contact someone at the distribution center and have them re-design the skate within a couple of hours and overnight the package with a Saturday delivery via FedEx. I will never use UPS again. If it’s really important that you receive the package, FedEx is the way to go. UPS is only good for shipping catalogs and advertisements (something you could care less about receiving).

Many elderly people live on this route, and await checks in the mail to eat and pay bills. I called the Riverside post office and spoke with melody. She stated that my address is no longer a regular route, but an auxiliary route. My mail is picked up by whenever a mailperson can after delivering their regular route. Who decides this? It seems to me that paying someone overtime to deliver my mail at 7:30 PM would be much more expensive than assigning a mailperson our route for everyday delivery!

The second complaint was when I was having a package delivered and received no notification that they attempted to deliver it and it had been sitting in the post office for days.

The third and most important complaint was filed last week when my payroll department contacted me that my w-2 was sent back to them stating “return to sender attempted-not known unable to forward". This is puzzling because it clearly has my correct address. I also know i haven't received things such as wedding invitations. I do receive some mail, but I have no way of knowing if I’m receiving all of it.

I called the USPS and complained. They said someone would get in touch with me in 2 business days and no one did. When I placed a follow up call the customer service agent said they still were investigating it and there was nothing I could do. He tried to forward me to a supervisor, who he claims wasn't in. He then suggested I contact consumer affairs. He had neither idea when the case would be investigated nor when I would receive a follow up call.

I paid to have it shipped out via 2 day express mail, and it's been over a month and it's still not there.

When I go in to try and have them look up the tracking number for me so we can find where the package ended up, I am told that it is impossible to do that. What kind of company does not have a backup system that allows them to look up past packages, especially when that is all they do? I do not want a refund for the shipping. Then my mom sent me out a small package for my birthday with Dreamsicles in it and threw that one at my door breaking all of my figurines, which are worth money if in the condition you bought them from the store, not chipped or busted. So when I went to make a complaint they said sorry and nothing can be done due to she didn’t insure them. We never had to insure things before because things came as delivered. Now I am left with broken gifts and a little hurt that this is how my mail is being given to me. All they said was sorry and I told them sorry doesn’t fix them or the pain, and if you were sorry this would have never happened

The post office refuses to deliver to my house when it snows. The driveway is blacktop and for the most part it's level. Each time they refused to deliver, it had less than half inch of snow on it and was plowed at the road end and house end. The house end even had salt spread on it. The driveway is a few hundred yards long. It has not ditch to slide off in on either side or any thing to hit. It is mostly open pasture field. It is not soft ground when it is warm, let alone frozen. So other than simply not wanting to drive back my driveway, they have no reason not to deliver the mail.
