I keep calling the Post Office. I live in the complex and I had to call the Post Office in way NJ twice, and I am still not receiving all my mail but I still get the last tenant's mail. When is this going to be corrected? They are always in a rush because we are at the end of the run about 3:00, waiting for their response.

My husband sent a letter priority mail with signature confirmation from California to Texas on October 29th. The tracking system on the computer states that the letter should have been delivered on October 31st. As of today it has not been delivered, and according to the tracking it has not left the sort facility.
When I called customer service they told me that the delivery time of 2-3 days is only estimated, but according to the website and the signs in the post office domestic delivery is guaranteed in 2-3 business days, which means the latest it should have arrived was yesterday! Also I was informed they do not track every step of priority mail like they do express mail. If they don't provide the service, what are we paying for? Also, this is, in my opinion, false advertising. I have requested a full refund, and next time we are using Fed Ex. Word to the wise, don't mail your mortgage payoff, pay the extra for a wire transfer! At least you'll have peace of mind knowing that it's been received.

I bought item from eBay. The seller sent with priority mail and the delivery confirmation (updated on 10/29) showed out for delivery. I never received it. I went to PO on Halloween and never received it. They lied and said it was on the truck. Three to four days later, tracking has not been updated. I have not received anything. Nothing yet. I am reporting it everywhere there is an agency and soon to the police. I will sue the post office.

I moved almost 2 months ago, submitted over 10 change of address forms and have not received one (1) piece of mail at my new address! I have spoken to 4 different supervisors at the local post office and the post master. I have called over two dozen times requesting that my mail be delivered, to no avail. I spoke to post master Alicia ** in Ypsilanti, MI; supervisor Virgil and Scott. This is the second time in the past 3 years that I've moved and did not receive any mail delivered for 2 months straight, with no explanation from the post office! Truly one of the absolute worst experiences of my life. No mail for 2 months.

On September 30, 2011, I went to the Pino Station in Albuquerque to mail a certified return receipt letter to the New Mexico Health Dept., 1190 St. Francis Dr., Ste. 1300, Santa Fe, NM 87502. The receipt # is **. On October 3, 2011, the post office left a notice at the health dept. That is the last time anything had been done with my letter. On October 18, 2011, I sent a duplicate letter certified to the same address and received the delivery confirmation dated October 19, 2011.
I went to the Pino Station post office to inquire about the whereabouts of my original letter and they told me to contact the Santa Fe Post Office at 505-438-1540. I spoke with Tonisha in Santa Fe on Monday, who told me that she would have to look into it and would call me the next day to update me on the status. I informed her that I was very concerned since the letter contained personal and confidential information. I didn't hear from her so I phoned her today, Wednesday. Tonisha told me that she has been very busy and didn't have time to look into it. She told me when she has the time, she will check. It has been over a month since I sent the original letter and no one seems to be willing to help me. Again, there is a risk of my personal information getting into the wrong hands. I would like this matter followed-up and the letter returned to me.

I mailed a package with delivery confirmation. The package made it to the State of its destination and actually the city too. Once it made it to the city of destination, for some unknown reason, it was sent to "dead mail" center. I have been trying to locate this package and nobody seems to know where it went or which recovery center it went to. I have been trying to get any information about this package but I have made no progress. I am really frustrated that they obviously had my package and could confirm it was in their possession when it was sent to the recovery center. They have the tracking number and everything that they needed to know about the package, but now nobody seems to know where it is at. My case number is ** and I am really hoping someone can help me.

I mailed out a package containing some dry sag and packed cheese. I paid for flat rate shipping and told it would get to NM in 3-4 days. I mailed it out Oct 5th, it's been almost a month and no one can tell me where the package is. The tracking number says its' still in Bethpage, NY. When I call that postal office, they say it was sent out to NM. NM called me and they never received a package. Like I said almost a month, no one knows where it is so I'm out $50. I don't understand why they haven't mailed it back out to my office. Gotta love the local USPS.

After holding my packages over a month without notice, failing to honor re-delivery requests and an exasperating and extended exchange, the Post Office advises me to leave a note in my mailbox regarding my permission for them to leave my packages in the screen door, which I taped immediately. It would be "easier than them making a note of it". The following day, my mother hands me a new package explaining to me that "Beverly" signed for it, just like she did for a previous one. Who is Beverly? When did I make that arrangement with the Post Office? I wrote in large letters in simple, courteous language, not to mention the masquerade with the retail clerk and the Delivery Supervisor at the post office the day before. This is defiantly wrong in too many ways.
I receive packages almost weekly, so now I do not feel secure with my packages considering I may be receiving a.)a vindictive response or b.)the incompetence level of such a small branch. I am obviously not comfortable with any random stranger taking up warmly with the postal carrier in regard to my packages but am leery about making any other arrangements with them.

I paid $46 dollars to have a package delivered by Saturday at 3PM. On Saturday at 3, I spoke with the recipient and the package had still not arrived. I instantly called the USPS to find out when it would arrive and how to collect my refund. They told me it would likely to arrive by the end of the day as it was marked as "out for delivery" and that I could go to my local post office with the receipt to get the refund.
First thing Monday morning, I did just that, but was informed that the package actually arrived at 2:38PM and was therefore on time and no refund would be made. The postmaster in Bullard, TX told me that my customer was "clearly lying" and that the mail carriers do not lie because they "respect the integrity of the USPS". It is clear that the mail carrier pre-scanned the package to cover her butt.

The US Postal Service on Yanceyville Street in Greensboro is by far one of the least effective places. I have had the unfortunate experience to have both my home mail delivery distributed from there as well as renting a PO Box. In both scenarios, I have repeatedly had business or creditors inform me that the mail was returned or in some cases I just didn't get the correspondence from them at all.
When I've contacted the office there was one incidence where I luckily got a gentleman that was very professional and solution-oriented over the phone. Whenever you call and get who I believe is the manager of the location, she is the most unprofessional and nasty person. She is there obviously to make getting mail or resolving problems hard on consumers. She doesn't need to be in front of people or answer the phones. Maybe she needs to just sort instead. I never wish, or expect bad for anyone but if the post office is filled with more of this, it's not a shocker that people have opted for the convenience of online activities versus traditional mail services that may have a result in loss of revenue for the postal service. It's sad.

There is a mail box, but it is at my front door, which I pointed out to her. She walked away and I assumed that answered her question.
Since then, no mail has been delivered and Saturday the 29th of October, after confirming a package placed on her truck at 10:a m by a U.S.P.S. representative that same day, she shows up and my roommate and watched her walk by us and I asked her if we had any mail as well as a package for me, and she ignored us and kept walking. I am now required to go to the local Post office to pick up my package and any mail that she may have withheld. This also includes my roommate's mail. Can she legally do this? I give the USPS the lowest rating possible. They have failed to deliver three pieces of my mail this year alone that contained checks. The cost to me was $30 each for stop payment fees. Two of the mail pieces were deposited in the local post office drop box for local delivery and the third was picked up at my home for first class delivery in Texas. As I mentioned here before, I had boxes that USPS didn't deliver to my address. They never left a notice for me to pick them up from the Post Office or from the Management Office where they should have been delivered in the first place. The boxes were shipped back to Turkey and were waiting at the post office. They put a $300 return fee on the top of it. Without paying this amount I won't even be able take the boxes out of the Turkish Post office.
The USPS keep saying, "There is nothing we can do." They're not offering any assistance. They're not willing to pay the return of the boxes back to USA. They only know how to make money off the people, even when it's their fault that they didn't deliver the boxes. They don't want to do anything to help me, What was my fault?
As a citizen, as a person, don't I have civil rights to ship my belongings that I need to use for my personal needs from one country to my country? Is this a mistake? I have to pay $300 in order to have my belongings released from Turkish post office. Total cost to me is more than $500. For what? A few of my teaching books, some of my students' gifts which have sentimental values; nothing illegal in it.
What kind of organization is this USPS? They are supposed to serve the normal citizen when they send or ship mail or goods. What a horrifying service this is. Who are we supposed to complain to? Who is going to listen? Who is going to offer help? I want to know. I am not going to stop here. I am going to fight until justice is served.
I've tracked down one of the boxes which has been sitting in NY for the last 3 months at the customs office. I kept calling all day and no one is answering, I'm just put me on automatic answering machine. Even though I left a message, my name and my phone number, my calls are not returned. They are not answering the phone either. What happened to the name of the USA, a service oriented culture? What's going on with this service? Is this a professional people service sector? What a bunch of ** is going on? I want an answer.

I've usually always had great service out of my postal workers who deliver my mail. Monday-Friday, it's the same lady, very friendly, extremely friendly, have even had brief conversations with her while she was putting mail in my mailbox. On Saturdays, it's a gentleman that I have yet to meet in person and speak to.
However, lately my magazines have been ripped, torn, bent, twisted, you name it. These aren't huge ones that don't fit. They are regular size, about the size of a sheet of paper. Yet, they appear to be just thrown in there. Also, I get letters in big envelopes that are clearly marked, "Do Not Bend", but it's folded in half and put in my mailbox. Yes, it won't fit otherwise, my mailbox isn't 10" deep. However, it can still be put in, standing up, without bending it. These are very important documents that are to be bent but this is being overlooked and it's highly unacceptable. I can't express how beyond angered I am when I find documents that cannot be replaced, sitting in my mailbox bent.
Now, the Saturday postman puts the mail in the box perfectly, even organized from small to large so it won't bend or rip anything. Everything is standing upright in the box, instead of laid on it's side (portrait). I don't know if the M-F postwoman is having a bad week or month, we've all had them. But this is just unacceptable for a mail carrier.

On September 12, 2011, I mailed a certified letter "Tracking Label: **". On October 11, 2011, I received a pink "Notice" slip stating that the certified letter I sent out was being returned to me and that it would be at the Mt. Holly PO for me to pick up. The next day I went to pick it up and was told it could not be found. So I waited until October 25, 2011 to go and get it, giving time for it to be found. When I got there I was handed a "Track/Confirm -Intranet Item Inquiry - Domestic" form stating the item had been delivered on October 13, 2011.
Now, I do not believe it to be an unreasonable expectation on my part that a certified letter, going 2 blocks, not take 31 days to be delivered. Nor is it unreasonable to expect that when one receives a pink "Notice" slip to pick up said item, because it went "undelivered", should actually be there when I go to pick it up, and that the people at the post office not arbitrarily redeliver, without my request to do so, a letter I was expecting to recover. It clearly states on the pink "Notice" slip that if the item is not picked up or delivered within 15 days the item would be returned to me. As you can see, I mailed it on September 12, 2011 and got a pink "Notice" slip on October 11, 2011, a total of 29 days.
This would normally not be a problem (although disappointing), except that this particular letter is an evidence in a "Landlord Tenant" court case where timely notice is of the essence. Although the 31 days is regrettable, it is the actual handling of the situation with which I take issue. This letter should be in my hands now, yet it still isn't.
Also, when I asked for the name of the individual I dealt with, she refused to provide her full name. For identification she said her first name is Lisa and she is a middle-aged, African-American woman. Please note that Lisa would not give her full name after I told her it was for Consumer Affairs matter. Although, when I called the Mount Holly Post Office postmaster, I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Gus ** (**) who had no problem stating his name.
The mishandling of this piece of mail could, in all honesty, cause me to be evicted from my home, and lose my most precious housing assistance from HUD. If I may suggest, if I had the letter I could just present it to the court and that would be that. But since I don't have it, I do not think it is unreasonable to request a letter, on Post Office stationary, from the Post Master in charge of the Mount Holly, NJ PO explaining what happened and why it took so long for a certified letter to be delivered. As long as it is on PO stationary and sent through the mail it should be accepted in court. I would also like to find out whether it is USPS policy to refuse giving one's full name regarding Consumer Affairs matters.
Thank you for your kind services. I would like a response to my requests as expeditiously as possible, please. It is illogical if the USPS has a policy of not giving out full names and then asking for one on a complaint form, or not applying it to all USPS personnel.

I arranged to have my mail forwarded to Brigantine, New Jersey for the summer. After a month of not receiving all my mail, I signed up for Premium Forwarding at a cost of approximately $300. My mail was supposed to be mailed to me all together via priority mail, and I was to receive them every Friday.
I called Mr. ** many times and said I was still having a problem about receiving my mail. It is also very difficult to reach this post office. The phone is mostly unanswered and many times, they pick up the phone when it rings and put it off the hook for hours at a time. Mr. ** told me that my carrier Mary Ann is responsible for me receiving my mail and she is the one that puts everything together to premium forward. The problem is that when my carrier is out sick or on vacation, it appears that the post office is closed as far as me receiving my mail. I sat down with the Postmaster from the Brigantine Post Office, and Mr. Carmen **, along with Gina, were outstanding.
Mr. Carmen told me that the problem is when I set up the premium forwarding, they forgot to cancel the regular forwarding and that is why I was still getting my mail pieces at a time with yellow stickers on them. In my presence on 9-27-11, he called Mr. ** at my post office and they discussed the problem. He also told Mr. ** that as of today 9-27-11, he was to stop the premium forwarding. Today is 10-25-11, and I noticed lately that I have been receiving very double bills, which is most unusual since I pay my bills as soon as they come in. I called the Brigantine post office this morning at ** and spoke with Gina and she told me that she is still receiving mail for me and has a whole stack of mail that she is mailing out priority today to me.
Thank God, someone has a clue at the Brigantine Post office; if not for Postmaster Carmen ** and Gina, I would have never known what was the problem. I would have thought that when Carmen called Mr. ** to tell him that when the premium forwarding was set up, they forgot to cancel the temporary forwarding that would have corrected it but again, like many other times, we have no follow up on the part of Mr. **. Also, why should my carrier bear all the responsibility? Are there no other employees in the post office like mail clerks that are supposed to be doing this? Why do I have to hear that my mail person is off? It sounds to me like they close when she is not at work. Can you believe that after they received a call to stop forwarding any mail as of 9-27-11 from the Brigantine Post Master, it is a whole month later and they are still forwarding my mail?
Should I not be able to rely on my post office? Is there anyone that follows up? Were so many calls to Mr. ** along with complaints to the USPO 800 number enough? My carrier knew that my mail was forwarded and I also received mail at home. So let me summarize. Apparently, they never stopped the original forwarding like they were supposed to, never correctly did the premium forwarding, and to boot, I still got mail at home.
I stopped all forwarding on 9-27-11 in person at the Brigantine post office and sat there while Post Master Carmen ** personally called Mr. **. I even originally set up the premium forwarding at the Brigantine post office, even though you are supposed to set it up at my home post office. They went out of their way for me and called the Brooklyn Post office to tell them that they were taking care of this for me. As of today, one month after, I stopped all forwarding, and there is still mail for me at the Brigantine post office. Should the post office choose to get involved? My first request is to try and get through to them and see how the phone is unanswered and off the hook for hours at a time.
Thank God for the Brigantine Post Office. It sounds like we need some better management at the Ryder St. Post office, along with some re-training and something new called follow-up, and instead of closing, what do we do when the person that is supposed to complete this task is not here?

Postal carrier continuously places all other suite number's mail in our mailbox. A note was placed outside by the mailboxes letting her know that mail was being distributed in the wrong box every single day, but the issue continues. Not to mention this carrier will be on her cell phone on personal calls speaking loudly while distributing mail. She is very unprofessional and is not completing her job accurately. I need this to stop because every day I have to walk to each suite and distribute the appropriate mail. I do not have time to do this with my hectic work schedule.

Moment of frustration after I paid postage on my package. The clerk did the Michael Jordan flip from the scale, tipped off the right hand and into the package cart like a 4 or 5 foot flip away. Total travel I would say was 6-feet. I noted to her that the package was marked fragile on all sides to which she replied, "Oh, it's going to get a lot worse treatment than that, you packed it well didn't you?" Yes I did, but the last time I sent items packed well, they were still broken and now I know why! I did insure them that time, but the item had a higher value and your processing area immediately started down the deflection pathway so we gave up - which I am sure is your policy.
This time, I did not insure but that's no reason for your goons to not care! Oh, that's right, they displayed the same total disregard for all property! Which is why from now on, the US postal abuse system will be my last point of service for anything other than a letter. At least, you can be trusted for letters, but read the writing on the wall as that market dries up. If you don't excel in the alternatives, your attitude will become your demise like so many other American businesses. The point of shipping a package is not so I can capitalize on the insurance and end up with a disappointed recipient. The point of insurance is to cover occasional damage due to unintentional mishaps outside your control, not to cover for apathetic handlers who simply don't care and deflect accountability. I expect my package to be delivered in good condition, other carriers can do it, so could you if your associates made an effort! I'll use someone who cares!

I mailed 4 large boxes from Los Angeles on 10/11/11 as Priority Mail (2-3 days). Two went to the east coast and two were to go to northern California (a couple of hours up the road). Well, the two going to the east coast got there in 2 days as promised; the two going to the same state have yet to arrive. There is no information on where they are or what's going on with them. I called last week and the Post office rep gave me a case number and told me I would receive a call within 2 business days.
Okay, 2 days go by and I call again. The case number did not exist and as a matter of fact there was no record of me calling the first time. Still they could tell me nothing except that I have to wait another two business days. Did I mention they said the delivery is not guaranteed? Why would I ship a package with the post office if it's not guaranteed that it will get delivered? If I pay for it then it should be guaranteed. Needless to say they boxes are just floating somewhere in California. It was a standard mail shipped on September 16, 2011. The estimate delivery was on the 23rd of September 2011. Well, I received one package on September 27, 2011. Both have delivery confirmation and insurance. Well, today is October 24th, 2011 and I still haven't received the second package. I've been calling the USPS customer service, also the store it was shipped from. All they do is give me the runaround. And even in one of the numerous times I called, the lady treated me like crap, basically saying I'm screwed. But I guess that's what I get for trusting the post office with my valuable collectibles. The tracking label says that it was scanned in Puerto Rico where I shipped it from. It has not been updated since then. I find it hard to believe that they can't find it. First, I find it unbelievable that we pay for insurance for a package and have it delivered completely destroyed. First of all, I can't believe that a carrier would even deliver the package in the shape it was in. Then having to fight to get our money back and shifting the blame on the consumer, and never taking responsibility for your lack of care. I'm only left fighting for myself and getting nothing but rude and unprofessionalism from your entire company, business or whatever you call this. I wonder, "is this working for you?" I mailed a violin back to a Canadian firm because of faulty construction. The box measured 2ft by 10 inches square, so it was not a small box. The address and my return address were clearly printed on the outside. I had to put the value and contents on the outside on a customs form. I paid $15.78 to send this not understanding that I was only sending it "first class" not insured. I tried to get a "signature required" but the clerk, after looking for about 5 minutes said that she didn't know where the forms were. I was never informed that it wasn't insured.
Three weeks later, according to the customs number, it hasn't crossed into Canada. Of course it hasn't been delivered. When I called to inquire and complain, I was told that there was no recourse and I should just hope that it will eventually be delivered. By putting the contents on the outside, I should have just put "steal me" on there as obviously some postal employee has stolen the package because they know there is no kind of control, no investigation, no responsibility on the part of the post office. They should be thoroughly ashamed of running an operation like this. Do not send anything valuable in the US mail; they are rife with thieves and incompetents.
To further my rant on this, I asked to speak to a postal inspector for my area and the "customer care specialist" told me that he could put me through. I said, "That would be okay but please also give me the number as I have dealt with this kind of organization before." To fulfill every stereotype of bureaucracy when the line was answered, they said that the office was closed for the day, and informed me to call during business hours and then automatically hung up. My wife temporarily moved from NJ to VA while I remain working and living in NJ. We had completed a change of address request online (the one with a $1 fee), and since then, both of us have not been receiving mail in NJ or VA. My wife's confirmation from USPS stated that it was only an individual change and not a household change, so there shouldn't be an issue, but there still is. We've gone to both NJ and VA local post offices 4 times! They are useless and keep telling us to contact the senders, which we have done, but it isn't their fault that the USPS is not delivering mail properly.
To top it off, my wife applied and paid for a VA driver's license at the DMV and they are required to mail the license rather than give it to you in person. I find this odd since in NJ they give it to you over the counter. As a result, the VA DMV has sent the license 3 times so far, and each time, it has been sent back to the DMV.
My wife cannot drive and has no state ID since her temporary license is expired and when we went to the local DMV (Chesterfield, VA off of Hull Street Rd.), the manager said that USPS implemented a new mail routing system which was implemented by a 3rd party vendor. She was clueless as to who the vendor is and said other people are experiencing similar issues. It's frustrating because she has no solutions or care to find out what the problem is just like every other USPS worker. She said she'd contact the other post offices to make sure mail is delivered, but that just isn't good enough as she's done nothing. If stealing mail is a federal offense, this is pretty much the same things as the USPS is withholding important time sensitive documents that belong to people living at the right addresses.
I have also not received auto insurance cards that are required to drive my car. Additionally, however, I only get junk mail from credit card companies and other sleazy solicitors and was told by the USPS that these people somehow use a different address database and so it gets delivered properly.
We are at our wits end and nobody is fixing this. Like some others on this post, our local delivery people swear that they are giving us all of our mail. It seems that the new routing system never reaches a human hand until it gets sent back to the sender. If we get pulled over by the police or require identification, we are screwed even though it isn't our fault. Is there an alternative to USPS? Is there a class action lawsuit or anything to fix this disaster?

The problem I have is that they always re-send packages to sender and then I have to tell them to re-send again. I feel the USPS delivery person should be more responsible when it comes to doing his/her job.
At my building we used to have a mail person that would use every effort to get the package to its destination. While there may be times an apartment # or full name was missing it would be the mail person who would ask the front desk about the person's name on the package and, if that person was still living in the building and expecting a package, thus being able to do this delivery or to leave the package at the front desk for said person.
Every person who is about to receive a package in my building always tells the staff at front desk to be on look out for it. We have two staff persons at any given time at our front desk; how hard can it be if a shipper missed the apartment number for the delivery person to just ask the front desk. It’s on the mail person’s way in and on the way out of the building. The mail person passes by and already delivers mail to the front desk for other staff people within the building. I really hope that the USPS comes to a full close and ends up being a failed part of American History in our children's school books. I never use them however there are still shippers that do and they often are reluctant to use a better shipper than USPS. So long USPS, I know your days are numbered and boy will I be glad when you are history.

We didn't receive mail for almost 2 months, because the mail carrier had the builder of our new home move the mailbox not once, not twice, but three times until she was happy with the location, which isn't even at the end of our driveway. However, we are a half mile off a main road. I understand she would not drive up here on a daily basis until the rest of the houses have been built in the development. I do not have a problem with that at all.
Then, once we began actually receiving mail, she actually chose which days she would stop and pick up any outgoing mail. This has happened three times. The first two, I complained on USPS.com. The post master promptly replied that he had spoken to the carrier and told her she had to check each day for the flag to be up. The third time, she didn't pick up outgoing mail. I figured why even bother. It will be the same song and dance. Also, I frequently order items online and ship packages to my family out of state and try to use USPS in order to save jobs and help our economy. Up until this past week, she was bringing any large packages to the house and leaving them close to our garage or on the front porch. I guess that exhausted her because we have had 2 packages this week where she is too lazy to bring them to the house. And she leaves a note for pick up in the box.
Normal working people aren't able to go to the post office and pick up packages. I thought that was one reason of having a box at home. I guess some people do not care if they have a job. If it was up to me, this post office would be under consideration for closure. Why stay open when they do not provide reliable services anyway? As for me, all of my packages will be sent to my former neighbor's home 20 minutes away where I know the carrier is awesome and takes his job seriously. By the way, UPS and FedEx have been awesome since we moved! If only they could give the Ranson post office some customer service tips.

Why I won't use USPS anymore for small packages AKA why a piece of tape ruined my relationship. I purchased 2-1 pound bags of See's Candy of different sizes to send to a colleague on the East Coast. I bought a brown box at the See's store where I can place both inside. I went straight to the USPS in Monterey Park (CA). I needed tape so when I got to the counter, I asked for some tape to seal the ends and attach my small thank you card to the outside of the box.
Well, I was surprised to find out that they don't provide tape to customers. I had to buy some tape from their wall of stuff. Are you kidding me? I found out from a colleague that uses the Simi Valley USPS store get complimentary tape when needed. Apparently, the Monterey Park store has a policy that prohibits their employees from giving complimentary tape to its customers. So, I purchased a medium flat rate box and put my box and card inside. I also bought some tape and instructed the USPS customer service rep to GIVE some to any customer requiring just a little tape. I'll write this off on my taxes but will likely use UPS or FedEx next time I need to send a package. This is absolutely ridiculous that the USPS at Monterey Park will not provide this simplest level of customer service.

Upon my return, my neighbor had collected two grocery bags of mail from my mail box over the 17 day period of the request. I was lucky I had asked him to check my box. The reason I did so was because a friend had told me his hold mail request had failed.

I made a phone call and had a ticket filed, was told I would get a call back in 2 days, I did not. I called again and was on the phone for half an hour. I was advised they show it was delivered on September 18th, which it was not. Then the phone call was disconnected, and I was not called back. I mailed a padded envelope to a customer earlier this month. We live one city apart. Day after day went by, the customer was frantically calling me that the package still hadn't arrived. Eight days later, I received the package back. It was stamped "returned for postage". I asked the owner of my mail store to tell me what postage should be on the envelope. His reply was: “82 cents. You actually overpaid. You've got 88 cents on here.” We then noticed that I left the last 2 numbers of the zip code off (intending to look them up and add before mailing). So, it looks like a lazy postal worker just slapped the postage sticker on there to teach me a lesson. By the way, the mail store owner told me that the use of zip codes is optional. It's another very disappointing encounter with USPS.

A few months ago, I received a final manuscript for my book to be approved. The postal carrier stuffed so much into my mailbox that the item was torn. This delayed the publication of my book. Recently, I was sent a set of photographs from Israel for my approval. The envelope had very large letters "do not bend". The postal carrier folded the envelope to get it into the mailbox. This caused cracks in the photographs. I complained to my local post office on both occasions. Since then, 5 different companies have had mail returned to them, even though they had correctly addressed the envelopes. I complained about this to the same post office. I was told that the person in charge would call me. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. So far no one has called.

I mailed a first class letter which was returned. It was addressed with the complete nine digit zip code. The individual has lived at this address for 40+ years. The street address is **. I wrote the house number as 913 by mistake. I suspect that the carrier delivers mail to this individual daily and the name isn't unknown to him or her--and with the full zip (nine digit), a good dedicated carrier could easily have it delivered.
Over many decades, service and attitudes have really deteriorated. I remember when mail could be delivered with a drawing. I have personally experienced rude employees especially at locations that have a high Negro work force. Of course, not all have an ax to grind. I've had my mail misdelivered many times and stuff lost especially since labor problems. I now mail less and will avoid the USPS as prices increase. The more you increase rates and provide less service, the less business the USPS will get.

Our mail has been repeatedly delivered to a different address in our building for the last year or more. We have spoken to the mail carrier numerous times. We have filed complaints with the post office. They give us case numbers over and over and say they will call within 48 hours, but they never do. When we try to follow up, they are never able to find our complaints. Our mail has been missing for weeks at a time because it is not being delivered here consistently. We never had this problem before. It seems that this started happening since our latest mail carrier. When she comes here holding two pieces of mail, we try to talk to her, but she won't listen, is rude, and runs away.
We usually get numerous checks in the mail daily, in addition to our regular correspondence. This year, we have had thousands and thousands (we found checks - including one for $25,000 - today at the wrong address again) of dollars paid to us, but they have been delivered incorrectly to another address and sat there until someone discovered it accidentally or until we realize that we better check down the road where she takes our mail so often. This is affecting our cash flow. We are beating people up on the phone for not having paid us when in fact they have paid us, but our mail carrier has taken it somewhere else. It is causing us to receive time-sensitive (government) correspondence past the time when we should've responded.
Please do something to help since we have been getting nowhere with our post office this last year and a half. We have contacted them and spoken to the carrier over and over and over again, to no avail. This is no way for us to operate a business, and we cannot constantly run down the street trying to find our mail. Please help.

When I finally got the package, it was empty with exception of a packing paper. The item missing was an MSI GT780DXR high-end laptop that I paid for. I informed them that it was three schools at that time in one building.
Two years later, we have had misplaced school credit card, several packages for our teachers that was delivered to Heritage, PSAT package that was misplaced - someone found it later in the central part of the building.
The only schools in the building now are Heritage and REACH! Partnership School. Since Heritage is A-B side can they have either 2801 (only) or 2801-A100 on their building and can we have 2801- C100 since we have the C-D wing? This is not how business should be handled. My question to you is, how do we go about getting an address for the school? This is becoming an issue because it hinders the students learning environment.

My civil rights were invaded by the clerk and the postmaster. Today, Saturday October 15, 2011 at approx 9:30 am EST, I entered the United States postal office located at 1198 Chester Pike, Sharon Hill, PA 19079. I tried opening my PO Box ** located at this location and noticed that my 2 keys would not work (I then thought that perhaps my locks were changed because in the past my lock had fallen off and I put in a complaint to the clerk. I thought perhaps they changed it).
I walk into the section of the Post Office where the clerks were located. I noticed there was one customer receiving help by the postal clerk and I was the only one in line. I watch the clerk as "he help" the lady fill out the form to re-open her postal office box (according to here she did not receive a notice that her box was up for renewal). 15 minutes went by and the lady was still there filling out the form, neither did the clerk as her to step aside so he can wait on me. After 15 minutes, finally the lady left. Then the clerk waiting on me, I told him that my PO Box key is not working. He asked me to wait then he walked away. Upon his return, he said that my PO Box was closed because I did not pay for the PO Box. I told him that I was just here 2 weeks ago too and my keys worked and I got my mail out.
There was no PO Box renewal in my box. He told me (very sarcastically), "That is funny. I never hear a complaint about someone did not receive their renewal notice. I told him that I know they usually give 2 notices. I did not receive any of the notices. I felt he was pretty much telling me that I was lying. Ignoring his insults, I still asked him what I should do. He said well you can re-open the box just like that customer that left did. I told him okay. Then as I was filling out the paper work, a customer came in and the clerk asked me to step aside. I told him it was not fair that I had to step aside while the previous customer he helped (and spend 15 minutes helping) did not have to step aside. So, the customer (who was the only customer behind me) said to the clerk that she did not mind waiting because she believe everyone deserves fair treatment.
The clerk got angry and threatens to call the police on me while walking to get the Postmaster. During this time, I filled out the paper work and by the time the postmaster came to the front. I was already done with my paper work. The postmaster told me to stand in the back of the customer that was standing in back on me. I thought that was rude and unfair. I told him that I will step aside just like the clerk asked even thought I am done with my paperwork. I explained to the postmaster that I felt like my "civil rights" were invaded because of the unfair treatment that I received from the clerk. The postmaster said that they are going to deny my service. I was so angry.
I believe that my civil rights were invaded by the clerk and the postmaster. As God is my witness, I never received a renewal notice about my PO Box. I am angry because the clerk called me a liar. I am angry because I was not treated like the previous customer. Something has to be done about this or I will consult my attorney on this issue.
You all should look at the video tape that was taped by the camera. You all will see and hear what the Clerk said and done and also the Postmaster. I will be waiting for a response from you all with a solution. In the meantime, I will be consulting my Attorney.

I told her that I contacted the post office about our move in April of this year (it is now October). She cuts me off and says, "No, they put the wrong suite on here. You weren't going to get this. They need a sign or something on the other suite." I asked her that if someone sends it to the wrong suite address, how is that my fault, exactly? She then told me that we had to tell somebody or we won't get our packages, although we do indeed get packages everyday. I informed her that I have told all the appropriate persons in order to have the correct address on everything. This went on for minutes. Was she implying that basically, I should call everyone - which I would have no way of knowing - that would ever want to send my office something to tell them not to put the wrong suite number on the mail? Maybe she should just take her hostility out on the person who incorrectly sent a package with the wrong suite number. Either way, being loud and talking nonsense doesn't work with me. This was disturbing, principally because it was delivered to the wrong address. Not only is this location a business not a residence but the zip code is 33134, not 33122. And on top of the discrepancies, the deliveryman instead of bringing it back with him or even confirming it was indeed at the correct address proceeded to leave a package at a wrong location without as much as a hesitation.

They send me mail to the right address, but the town needs to read North Wilkesboro, or when Wilkesboro gets it, they will send it back. The zip code and everything else is right, but they refuse to do their job. It is "Democrat against Republican" type of thing that separated Wilkesboro from North Wilkesboro, and Wilkesboro would throw mail in the trash before they send it to North Wilkesboro. They would send it back to Statesville or whereever it goes to before it gets to Wilkesboro, and make them deal with the mail. If the place they send it to can see why, they would send the mail to North Wilkesboro and not Wilkesboro.
This mail system is very stupid, and all of it can be sent back for simple things like they refuse to do their jobs. If you don't have a return address, that stamp don't mean a thing because it will stay in your mail box until you dot every "i". If someone was to put an N in front of Wilkesboro, then the mail will be delivered.
I would like to report this childish problem with the mail system and get everyone replaced if they refuse to do their job. I would do the job if they wouldn't. I can sit and drive a mail truck around sticking stuff in the mail boxes, and I will sit in a chair to sort the mail. Please respond because Anita didn't seem too concerned that my medication could have been lost!

My mail is not being consistently delivered to my home. It is being delivered to the wrong address on a regular basis. This is the second time within a few months they have delivered a package I ordered to the wrong address, and are not able to retrieve it. I want the US Post Office to reimburse me for the wrong delivery and for the person who is delivering my mail to be held accountable. We live in Ward community that the mail has always delivered too. In the last 8 months, the postal service decided to quit delivering the mail, we were not aware of this till about a week we didn't receive our mail. When we asked the postmaster, she got smart and said they didn't have to deliver the mail to us anymore because the road was in bad shape. I've lived in Ward Community for 29 years and have always had my mail brought to me. I take a lot of medication and so do my neighbors. We have elderly and a lot of people who are unable to drive.
This is unacceptable for the postal service to take it upon themselves to quit delivering the mail. We have complained and the Somerville postmaster said, "Good luck in trying to change it!". I can not believe this, actually she said if the people didn't move their mail boxes in which is a half mile away, they would throw our mail on the ground. I told my neighbors to let them through the mail on the ground and see what happens. Well after 2 weeks of holding our mail, several ran up a half mile away and put mailboxes up.
I want to know why after 35 years of delivery that we are not getting our mail in Ward Community. I had medicine that set up at Somerville, Alabama postal service for 3 days. This is an unacceptable behavior! I've had to go and rent a box to which I was forced to do, I believe that is against my Constitutional rights! I'm going to our congressman if this is not taken care of. I don't believe that we as Americans should be forced into paying for a rental box, when we have had the mail delivered to us for almost 40 years, especially without notice. Please look into this matter.

I went to the Anna, IL Post Office today to mail my small envelopes. I have mailed thousands of them in the past, they always weigh less than an ounce. Today I took approximately 18 letters. All the sudden I looked at the screen and they are weighing more then 1oz. I asked the clerk who happened to be the postmaster, Judy **, to weigh them on another machine as she was over charging me. She indicated the scale had been certified that morning and it was correct, and she had no way of testing it. I told her that I did not want the remainder of my mail weighed as she was over charging me and I wanted my other 9 nine letters back and refunded as I cannot afford to be overcharged. She said she did not have the time to refund me as there were other customers waiting. I asked her when the other window and different scale would be open and she said 2pm. I said I will be back and not to mail my packages as I want them weighed when the other window was open she said she would hold them. I went back at 2pm and the other window was open and she was standing there. She said what do I want and I said I wanted to have my earlier mail re-weighed on this other scale as we discussed. She said, "Sorry but I already put your mail through the system". I said. "Why did you do that? You agreed to hold it till I came back" and she said. "So what?".
I then said I would like to have these other 8 letters mailed and sent, and see if they weigh over 1oz . She took one put it on the scale and said it couldn't go first-class as it's non-machinable then she called over one of her employees. This employee picked it up and looked at her and said, "Yes, that's non-machinable and can't go first class". I picked it up and said that it's got a piece of felt in it and all are bendable and less than a quarter inch thick. And that they have mailed thousands of these for me every day for the past 3 years and now all the sudden they can't be mailed first class. Judy then said I was just lucky before and that's why she charged me extra today. I then took my mail to the Jonesboro Il Post Office, gave them the mail and said what happened at Anna, IL Post Office. The clerk then ran some, through her official slot and said there's nothing wrong with any of these and they could go first-class and all them weighed between .60 and .79 oz. She then wrote on my receipt that they were all machinable and signed her name Amy **.

This was business mail, merchandise that my customers are still waiting on.
By Tuesday, I realized that there was a problem as the Express mail items did not show a scan and neither did any of the other items. I went to my local post office on Milton Road in Durham, NC on Wednesday to report this matter and ask for help. The manager, at first, just wanted me to go away, when she realized that I had already called in the Express mails at the 800 number the night before, she softened her tone of voice towards me and told me they would look into it. But at no point did anybody feel a sense of urgency about this matter. I called the postmaster twice, not much help, called consumer affairs, no help there either. It seems like everybody just wants to sweep the issue under the rug. I have written a formal letter of complaint to the postmaster general. Still waiting to hear back, but not holding my breath.

My complaint is in general, not specific case. I like to see a change in delivering packages. Lots of times, they go to the wrong address because the sender of the package forgot to include the apartment number. Also for packages, the postman just leaves them in front of door and that caused lots of trouble for the owner to find her/his package. If you please inform the postmen not to leave the packages in front of the house or for unclear addresses, just return it. It would save lots of trouble later.

I have not received mail since Aug. 11 that the postmistress, Ms. **, brought a letter telling me her mail carrier was stressed and feared for her safety. I work with schools, libraries, courts with abused women and children, do live Monarch displays, and give English lessons to Spanish people. I am called Mother Theresa, but not from Calcutta, though I am not a saint by any means. I did find out after my Anglo husband and losing my culture and language when he passed away, that racism, biased behavior and discrimination were all alive and well, and on me constantly now that I did not have the upper mid-class, Anglo husband by my side.
The incidents are innumerable these last 11 years but this concerns you and USPS. The carrier became my friend. Her AA husband, jobless and no license, worked for me (yard work). I was like a member of her family, (her words). I did not date, drink, smoke, had one granddaughter here who was friends with her only girl, Sara. They had a sort of Appalachian life style, which we did not care about or criticize. She loved working in her dad's garden, messing with the wildlife, indoors and out, horses and woods. She loved her parents and her children, though told them I would not come or expose my grandchild to their obscene and disrespectful behavior to the grandparents, Lisa, my mail carrier did it to her parents. I said nothing to her. The children respected me, my wishes and all was well.
One day, since she was here for long periods of time, gossiping and passing private information on other patrons, I give her a warm lunch on cold days, cool things on hot days. She was reported by Kelly ** who had been down the street waiting for her mail. Roberta, the then postmistress, told her. Lisa went after her and she gave me the names of people Kelly was catering from her home without a license and using a place in Rockford as a front. I would not do it and my hell began.
Four years of lost mail, tampering, installed security to prove it. When I did, since I had to refile 7 years IRS income tax, she returned letters with signature required. She did many more things to me but never once did I tell her a word. I have all the communications I had with **. Not one threat. The reason I have not had mail since the 11th of Aug.
I am 67, am not supposed to drive and was criminally attacked by her friend Gerry **. I am permanently handicapped and they want me to go get my mail elsewhere. My lot is half an acre and at times I need to back my van to get my mail. I have video, pictures and letters to prove all the Federal laws she broke, and when I showed her some of the proof she came up with "I threatened her, she is so stressed.”
Both Lisa ** and her family come from quite a family, half my age, twice my size. ** half my age and three times my size so I would not even try to go head on with what one and all call Peter Built trucks. I do not believe in violence. I talked to a CIA friend who told me if the county has never helped me, go to the news, or file a civil suit. That is how OJ was done in. I have tunnel vision, or had, about the Justice System doing its job but to no avail. It is not a good time to be a Mexican, born in Texas or not. The only resolution I see is going to see the Attorney General or Lisa ** with my crime book. The CIA told me I should have been around them when I was young and for rating the lowest! I have been sending pictures, letters and evidence to USPS for months. To no avail. They ask ** to investigate. I tell them it’s "like asking the fox to check the mayhem in the chicken coop". She is the problem and her friendship and or nepotism with **. This needs to be resolved!
I will and cannot drive on 7 Norco’s or when I can't take more than 15 steps, especially when I do some yard work, that from all the medical bills cannot bring someone to do it. And I love doing it myself. I can't trust others, like Dave, Lisa's lover, father of her 5 kids, who mowed half my plants and trees and anything he could not see in his state. This will be the last time I try to resolve this without a scandal. If I have to buy a newspaper page on my own and report her indiscretions and the fact of all she spreads and still does on her route; the mixed mail, constant and her petty behavior and using information from mail to hurt patrons on her route. Thank you.

I bought a Gateway laptop and it was shipped on 9/12/2011 from Texas. It arrived where I lived, damaged, on 9/16/2011. The damage was the result of the USPS Delivery Service. I filed a completed complaint claim form online. I logged online to the USPS site and filed a claim. I supplied them with all the information that they required, along with the copy of forms showing what price I paid for the laptop. I provided copies of the shipper's receipt from USPS. I took a picture of the PC in its condition. I was told that I had to have a computer store verify that the unit was broken and that it didn't work anymore.
USPS sent me a response letter dated Sept. 30, 2011 explaining that I had to present the letter that they wrote me explaining what to do to complete the process along with what evidence they needed. I provided the proof of insurance and evidence of value. I took it to a local USPS mailing center as instructed in the letter that I received and wound up going to 4 different post offices before I could get anyone to help me with my problem or to even remotely understand what I wanted them to do. I was just doing what USPS instructed me to do and I was doing this to get the item inspected so that my claim would move on a little quicker.
Every time I went to a post office, I was instructed each time that there wasn't anyone at these places that could or would handle my claim problems until the last post office that I went to and even then, what they said was not true. I started off by going to the closest place to where I live and that is located in Fogelsville, PA but the supervisor was out undergoing surgery as they claimed and no one would help me there. Then, they sent me off to another location which was Wescosville, according to my address. They said that no one knew how to do the claims there and that I was at the wrong location for that type of transaction. They told me that I should have gone the to the 1000 Postal Road location in the first place because all of those post offices were not the main location for the Lehigh Valley mail and that the branches that served us were for more local transactions.
The place I went to was located across from the Lehigh Valley Airport in PA. When I got there, the person I spoke to told me that the person who handles the claims left a week ago and that he retired. They didn't know how to help me that day and no one there could help me again. Was that because the position hadn't been filled yet? I got so frustrated and I just took the bad laptop to an Allentown location that I know located on Hamilton Street. At the time, there were two supervisors who came to help me with my needs. One person who inspected my item said that it was not working and the other informed me that I had to go back to the 1000 Postal Rd. location I went to before. They explained to me what to do with the paperwork and they asked me to give them another day so that they could handle my case with someone who knew what to do. She taught me how to file the claim properly, so I got all of my paperwork in order. When I went back today to verify all of this information with them, the secretary answered the bell and then told me that I could have come at a better time in the day and that people were on lunch, so they had no one to serve my needs or any of the other customers. This was the only time that I could do this and I was told that any time during business hours was fine with the claims service.
I had already driven around the Lehigh Valley trying to resolve these issues the day before and it should have been taken care of at the first stop without all of this extra running around. I went in hoping to get closer to getting my claim money to replace my damages and they took my laptop. The seller put extra special software and data on the hard drive for me, so now I have no way of getting the data back. I was promised with the sale of the computer when I bought it. The person from the post office inspected it yesterday and she said that I must have an independent computer repair center diagnose my problems for proof paying them $20 to have that looked at. When I went back the second day to the USPS customer service, they were not too pleasant and helpful with my issues. This was at 1000 Postal Rd. in Allentown. I even provided them with extra information to make the claim go as smoothly as possible. I figured that too much info was better than none. When I was at the Hamilton Street location, they said that I could retain my laptop for personal data until the claim was settled completely and I would have to wait for my compensation before I could get the data backed up. The process that helps save the data off the hard drive is a very expensive one and a very time consuming task, so I was hoping to keep the laptop and get the data off in time before I was compensated.
The supervisors already looked at this laptop at the post office for inspection yesterday. Why did they have to take it away from me today and then keep it stored in a shelf somewhere? None of the paperwork says that I must submit the object in question but only for inspection to deem whether it is damaged or not nor did the original letter from the claim request. So here I am out of a lot of money. $450 for the computer and $26 in shipping charges. There was also $5 in insurance coverage, not to mention I had to pay an additional $20 to have my laptop tested by a local business, along with all the time that I spent driving around and all the gas I wasted to find someone to help me with this issue!
I am still waiting for a reply from the USPS. To date, I have no idea what is happening. The status online says, "In progress."

Thus far, package delivery for me has been 50% since living in the Brookhollow zone, strongly hinting at inappropriate behavior. We used to have extraordinary service for the last 15 or more years. A month or more ago, the routes in our area were reorganized to save money. That makes sense. Our office and small number of neighboring businesses were, for some reason, separated from the rest of the businesses on Massachusetts Ave. in Lexington. We were assigned to a several block residential area behind us that is now delivered at the end of the day by whatever carrier that wants to pick up the route. As a result, our checks and other business correspondence are delivered often after 5 pm, and we lose a day of cash flow.
I understand that the residential areas can be delivered late, but it does not seem right that our business and those next to us are the only businesses in the commercial district to be cut out of the rest of the businesses in town. Meanwhile, you are delivering on Saturday to the business (through the mail slot) when no one is here. Where is the sense in that? No business needs the weekend delivery, but we do need timely weekday delivery. This is a simple fix that the local post office (all of whom are great) knows how to fix. Some bureaucrat who sits at a computer made this decision.

The tracking information estimated delivery by October 5th. The mail comes on the 5th, but no package and no slip to come retrieve it from the post office. Tracking information finally updates around 4 pm on the 5th to show "Out for Delivery - 9:04am."
Worried about the location of my package, I take a screenshot of the tracking information as well as my Windows clock before going down to the post office to inquire. A very apathetic lady checks my tracking number and tells me that it may not have actually been out for delivery because, and I quote, "That's just something we do, but maybe you'll get your package tomorrow."
Today is October 6th, and at 8 am this morning, I check the tracking information of my package. Much to my shock, it says, "Delivered - 10:11 am" on October 5th. What the **l? For good measure, I take a screenshot of this tracking information in the same manner.
I wait until the mail arrives today, and nothing. I'm irritated at this point, so I print out the screenshots and head back down to the post office with them. I speak to the supervisor at the Customer Service counter and explain my problem. He seems nice enough at first, and tells me to hold on while he checks on it. He comes back and tells me that he's going to investigate it, but he'd like to ask me some questions. I answer them and write down my name and mailing address.
I ask the supervisor why the tracking information is marked as "Delivered" yesterday, when it wasn't delivered at all. He immediately gets defensive and in a condescending manner explains how the tracking system works. His explanation still didn't answer my question though. I explain that it still doesn't make sense how something could be marked as "Delivered" if it wasn't.
Seeing as my package is likely gone/stolen/whatever, I ask him what my options are. As I purchased the item over Ebay and paid with Paypal, he tells me that I should go after the seller and get my money back. I explain that the seller didn't do anything wrong and shouldn't be punished because USPS lost the package. He gets more defensive at this point.
He asks me if it was insured, knowing full well that the answer is no. I respond as such, and he says that they aren't responsible then. This made me a little mad, so I ask him, "So you're not responsible and do not care if the mail safely reaches its destination?" He doesn't answer, so I repeat myself. He tells me that they aren't responsible unless it's insured. Gee, doesn't this sound like a loophole for mail-theft; anything not insured is fair-game.
I tell him that if I don't get my package, I'd like to file a claim because it's ridiculous that I'm out the $75 I paid and the package, when clearly something on their end is the problem. He gets upset with me about wanting to file a claim and insists I go after the seller through Ebay and/or Paypal. I explain again how it's not the seller's fault; it's the fault of USPS, period. He remarks that he hasn't even been allowed to do his investigation yet. Fair enough, but I explain that I'm just exploring my options. He slides the 'Window Closed' sign between us on the counter. I look at it, then back at him, and I say, "So that's how it is, huh? Good day, then," before walking out.
First off, I apologize for the long read, but I really needed to explain the situation and get it out there. Personally, I can't believe the kind of unprofessional attitude I received on both times that I went into the post office. And frankly, after the exchange the supervisor and I had, I can't expect he'll really do anything about it now. However, I refuse to lie down and take this, but I'm at a loss on what I can actually do. It's a Federal organization, so it would require taking it to Federal Court. I don't have that much money to begin with, so I certainly can't go paying a lawyer to fight this for me. The idea of just accepting a loss of $75 as well as the loss of the package because of the shady business practices of USPS is just unacceptable to me.
I won't make Ebay/Paypal punish the seller because he hasn't done a thing wrong. He shipped it out Priority Mail and provided me with a tracking number. Once that package was in the hands of USPS, I can't rightfully blame him.

I have relocated from Monroe, LA to Alpharetta, GA three months back. I set up my forwarding address online with USPS. Since then, I have been regularly receiving my mails to the forwarded address. However, recently, someone sent me USPS Priority Mail at the previous address. Unfortunately, it was delivered to the previous address. The USPS tracking status shows that it was delivered to the old address.
I opened a complaint ticket with USPS to investigate and locate the mail. When I called them again after a few days to follow up the ticket, I was told that the ticket is closed with comment that the mails are being delivered to the forwarding address. This is not true. USPS, from its own tracking status, knows that it was wrongly delivered at the old address. I have opened another complaint ticket now.

I have tried to contact my Hamilton New Jersey Post Office several times. I filed a temporary change of address on 4/6/2011 to continue through 11/2/2011. I then filed an extension for 10/1/2011 through 11/2/2011. The reason for the extension was I requested forwarding for longer than the allowed 6 months. All of my paper work was through the mail (USPS postcards) and upon checking with USPS, all of the paperwork is in order. However, since mid September 2011, I have not received any forwarded mail from the Hamilton NJ Post Office. My son went to our NJ house and our NJ mail box was filled to overflowing with first-class mail. This is unsafe and is causing me undue problems with paying bills. I have only had two conversations with "Jim" the supervisor of my NJ zip code.
On Monday 10/3/2011, he said he would look into my issue and call me back by end of business on Monday. He did not follow up with the promised phone call. Today 10/6/2011, he again took all necessary information and promised me a return phone call this morning. It is now 2:00 pm and surprise, no follow-up phone call from Jim. Jim is not taking my mail issues seriously. I am fed up with the USPS lack of service and concern with my mail delivery. They are not helping me at all and I consider this an annoying and serious issue. Please help me to get this issue resolved immediately, as I need this error corrected and my mail delivered/forwarded promptly.

I have 5 packages coming to USA from China, but until now only one is in the USA. Instead on going to the address that is on the package, which is North Myrtle Beach, SC, the package went to Jamaica, New York and the mistake was made by USPS. How come New York!? And right now my package is going back to China, what am I supposed to do right now? My goods are supposed to be in the store right now, not back to China to the sender.
I have all the documentations for all the packages and the address is the same as I mentioned. I have paid $1501.44 for the packages, to be delivered on October 5th and right now, I have nothing and I lost money. Who's going to pay for this? The sender did his job correctly, it is not his fault nor mine. Personally, I'm not gonna pay anything else for the packages, so I expect that USPS to do their job and read the dates correctly and to deliver all my packages in SC as soon as possible.
On all the papers, specified was my cell phone number, and nobody called me to let me know anything. I actually found out from the company from China that the express company EMS delivered the goods, but we were not there to sign for it and all this sounded very strange to me and I started doing some research. I need to be rewarded or something for this mistake, which is USPS's mistake. My store is empty, and because of this I don't have any sales, which is that I'm losing more money. At least make sure that the other four packages are going to the right address.

I had a 2006 federal tax return that needed to be postmarked by April 15, 2010. There is a statute of limitations in place with the IRS. It states that in order to receive my refund, my return would have to be filed/postmarked no later than April 15, 2010. I picked up my returns from my CPA. And I immediately headed down to the general mail facility in Phoenix, AZ. I had one of the clerks that was working underneath the tent. They had set up outside, postmark my certified mail receipts. Fine. They did the task completely. All I had to do was wait and my refund should eventually arrive.
After waiting several months and not hearing anything from the IRS, I finally started calling around for answers. I kept getting the runaround. And no one could give me any straight answers as to the whereabouts of my return. When I finally did get some answers, it was explained to me that the return was filed late, and that I was no longer entitled to that refund. I said, "Bologna" took the necessary steps to recruit the Taxpayer Advocate. That was a long and arduous process, but they finally came on board. After waiting several weeks, the IRS finally pulled my return from the archives with a copy of the postmarked envelope. It was postmarked on April 22, 2010!
I told the Advocate that it was impossible and that I wanted a copy of the postmark sent over to me right away. Before I hung up the phone with the Advocate, I asked her for the number to the certified letter that was at the top of the page. She read it back to me and I raced to my laptop to input the information under the USPS.com track and confirm section. When I entered the number to the certified letter, it stated that the return was received at the IRS office in Fresno, CA on April 18, 2010! Can someone please explain to me how in the hell this could happen? I want to know what moron hand canceled my return with the wrong postmark date! As it stands, the Taxpayer Advocate is determining whether they can take further action at this point.
I am absolutely livid! I can't believe that someone could have been so careless as to have put in the wrong numbers on that ** hand stamp on such an important date! I don't even know for sure if that's what happened. But I'm only brainstorming based on my own experiences working for that organization for 11 years. I want to know if anyone else experienced such a problem. And if they did, what was their recourse? Is it possible to sue the post office? I have a home in foreclosure. That money was supposed to go towards saving my house as a back up plan in case the loan modification wasn't approved. But now, I don't even have that. I'm so frustrated. It's stupidity like this that inspired me to leave the post office. Their machines are faulty. The managers don't give a ** about customer service. And the clerks and carriers that do go the extra mile are harassed and given letters of warning for not following postal procedures.

Then on 9/14, the new house was bought. Mail forwarding request filed in person at Millbrae PO. I waited 2 weeks and still, no mail came. On 9/29, I went to PO to speak to a supervisor. In next week, on September 16, 2011, I received an email from HOA where my check is. I told them I put it in the mailbox a week ago, but they could not find it. I wrote one more check. After that, HOA found out that three checks disappeared and what happened? The mailman took all of the checks to the post office?
Again, no any addresses, no any stamps, no any info. First of all, how did it happened? Does the mailman supposed to know what he is doing? How can he pick mail (3 envelopes) without any info? Second, you know that to stop a check, the bank charges $30.00-$50.00. Who will reimburse me these charges? As of today, after the mailman brought my envelope with my HOA check to the post office, the check without any address what will be next? Will I receive my check back? If yes, when? On Thursday September 29, I mailed a package to my uncle for his birthday. Last year I mailed him two picture frames for his birthday through USPS, and my uncle received both frames in the same condition that I sent them in. He loved them, and asked for another one this year. I found the frame on sale for about $10, and prepared it to ship.
Since USPS delivered the last frames with no problem, I decided to ship through them again. I wrapped the frame in about six inches of bubble wrap, wrapped it in packaging paper, and wrote "FRAGILE" all over the package. I then took it to my local post office to ship. I was asked if anything in the package was breakable. I answered that yes, it was glass. Remember, it has "FRAGILE" written all over it. I paid around $12 to ship a $10 frame, but it was what my uncle wanted so I did it. When asked if I wanted insurance, I thought about the safe frames hanging in my uncle's house that USPS delivered, so I answered "No". Again, it is a $10 frame that is costing me $12 to ship, why should I pay for insurance when I know that they have delivered a similar package before safely? My uncle received his gift today, October 4. He sent me photos of the damage. The glass is completely shattered, the frame itself was cracked, and the entire piece that covers the back of the frame was destroyed. It looked like somebody jumped up and down on it, and then dropped it off of a building. So now my uncle has no gift, that I so far have spent $32 on. I called USPS customer service, and was told that nothing could be done since I didn't buy insurance for a $10 frame. Then I was told that when you buy a car, you buy insurance, it is the same thing. No, if I buy a car, and entrust it into your care, then your insurance is responsible.
This is just ridiculous. I just tried to call customer service again to speak to a different representative. I was never connected to a person, after 23 minutes of waiting on hold I finally hung up. I did my job of packaging the gift safely to ensure it arrived in the same condition that I sent it in. If it was just a crack in the glass, then okay, I can deal with that, but the damage was so severe that there was apparently an ignorant person handling the package that doesn't know the meaning of the word fragile. So now I get to send my uncle a new frame. So the $10 frame will now cost me about $75 by the time this is all over with. I will never use USPS to ship packages again. I will have to pay extra for UPS just to ensure my gifts arrive to family members safely.

This service is generally garbage, not general mail but their "priority mail" for shipping. I will have to assume this since a person can't track regular mail. I have only used this service a few times. The average is 3/4 not delivered on time. Tracking is not updated daily. Their customer service is null. And you have to rely on whether the person on your route feels like carrying the package that day or waiting. I live in a semi-major city. So, it is not like a sleepy town or country where delays are an everyday occurrence. I usually order items for my business off eBay since it involves leathers and I can see the actual item I am getting. So, I don't always have control over the shipping method. When I do order, I usually order priority mail (if the shipper doesn't have other methods). The most recent was an item that was accepted on 9/30/11 in Montana. The "expected" delivery was by 10/3/11. Now granted it is only the 4th, but tracking still only shows the acceptance of the package.
I called customer service. The only advice they gave is that if I don't get it by the 6th, I will need to call back and open an investigation. What good is that? My item is needed now. They had nothing to offer in forms of help, just a quick response from someone who sounded like they were an ancient robot reading a script. And that was all. So now, I have to wait 2 more days to open an investigation and wait for that to start. And there is still no time frame for my item. The items I ordered are unique. And you can't just purchase another one while waiting, because you won't get the same thing as you originally ordered. So now, I have a deadline for an order and the USPS has a human robot tell me that it is my only option.
When I said that this was priority mail and the website shows "expected by" Oct. 3rd, their response is: "That isn't guaranteed. That is only on the express mail". So, what does priority mean then? And why even bother showing dates when my average is 3 out of 4 in not having the USPS do what thy promise? If they figure that they are doing poorly, why not make all others do poorly as well? I guess the federal government should look internally to why the economy is doing poorly, because it starts with them. Having a start up is difficult enough, let alone using a service that advertises "through rain, sleet, and snow". But that only applies to when they actually feel like doing it. Stick with UPS or FedEx. You might pay a little higher, but they are more reliable and do a lot more to help, unlike this useless system.

She arrived at an apartment building where one witness said that he saw the package, but did not sign for it, and put it on the stairs guessing it was for the girls upstairs. I commented that he will if there is a package that will not fit into the box. He did that just the other day.
Today, my son-in-law was parked just a few feet from the box and the mailman saw that he was about to leave, and just drove right by. In the past, the delivery person gave me a receipt the next day, along with change, or a request for payment. The current carrier does none of those things - perhaps I'm estimating the postage to a penny correct? I doubt it, since I've intentionally put out at least twice the required postage. Second, because of the above, I went to the Post Office to mail a small package which I needed to know was actually processed. There were two windows open. One window had a person sending "a white postal box" full of items to Japan. The second window was processing the rest of us. At 11:00 AM, the second window shut down. That leaves only the other window, still processing packages. When I finally had to leave, I had moved a total of one person closer to the window. I received an orange slip on Friday, September 23, 2011, regarding a package that had arrived for me stating it needed delivery confirmation (article number **). However, delivery confirmation and signature required are two very different things. I called Monday to arrange a redelivery and it never arrived on Tuesday. I called to place a complaint because of it not arriving Tuesday and explained that it wasn't the first or even second time this has happened. I placed yet another redelivery for it to be redelivered Wednesday, September 28, 2011 and still nothing.
After personally speaking to the woman placing mail in the mail slots of the building, she suggested I once again call USPS. I then continued to hand her the orange slip with my signature and a note written on which I took a picture of as proof. I then continued to once again call USPS (at 11:24AM), only to be disrespected and told that they couldn't help me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the phone call dropped. I called again at 11:27 and held yet again for 20 minutes to speak to a supervisor, only to be transferred 3 times before actually getting to one. The second time, they didn't take complaints. Side note: I've called twice since speaking to the worst supervisor and asked random agents how I would go about placing a complaint and they all said they could take it.
When the USPS supervisor finally got on the line, Jared refused to give me any additional information aside from his name. I answered the obvious name, address, phone number questions but he didn't really allow me to go forth with my complaint. When I asked for an explanation regarding why my package was still not here or what protocol was to be taken, he said he did not know and that he would be opening a case number (**) which he could also not tell me about because he simply didn't know what would be happening and kept repeating that statement because it was the truth. I apologized for having bothered him while he worked. Clearly, talking to a person missing a package trying to make a complaint wasn't part of his job at the USPS nor was helping in any way or having any sympathy towards the frustrated person still unclear as to where my package is.
Coincidentally, the same person who mailed this lost package also mailed article number: ** that also had a delivery confirmation. This package, however, was left in a slot where I retrieved it from with the key that was placed in my mailbox, the very next day. So I am unclear as to how and who decides what package to leave in the building and which not to when they have the same exact service. This whole situation is unacceptable and should never happen. Because I know it will continue to happen, the very least your employees can do is respect the very people who they are inconveniencing and while they may get people freaking out, they can pretend to sympathize with these people because guess what? That's what customer service is!
This may not be changing the lives of USPS employees because, clearly, no one cares how they hackle the public but it is changing the lives of the people who depend on them to do their jobs! Over the past 4 days, not one person has been able to tell me where my package is. Every time I do a redelivery or make yet another complaint, when I call the next day, they can't seem to find information on the case numbers I provided them with or have system issues but can not transfer me to someone who might be able to help me. Seriously, who do we complain to?

I need to send out a package with a prepaid label. It said that I can either drop it off at the UPS station or my local post office and they will notify the UPS to pick up and delivery. I dropped it off on 09/20/2011 at my local post office but the package did not have any update status until 09/28/2011. I sent an email to USPS customer service to inquire about the package. They then updated the status so that UPS will be notified to pick up package. That means the package was sitting at the post office for 6 business days without anybody doing anything until I made the inquiry.
I tracked my package through UPS and it's scheduled to be delivered on 10/05/2011. I see in the news about the US Postal Office facing shutdown. I believe it's not because we don't use the service. I think it's because they don't give the basic service to the public. My local post office has very bad customer service and I don't feel that they care for their jobs.

Wow! I can see why the postal service is going downhill. They are so rude and such complainers on my encounter with them last 9/27/2011. I have a shipping pkg. overseas & thought I filled out everything. The lady didn't say hello, just gave me a "did-you-fill-out-your-forms?" in a snotty way. I said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Was I supposed to fill something out?". She slammed the form down telling me to do "this, this, and this". I asked a question, she answered "well, yes" in a snotty way. Then she complained in front of me how rough she has had it this week. At this point I was getting pissed and I told her that, well, she should be thankful she has a job. Then the girl beside her, another postal worker, said right in front of me "What is wrong with these people?". I take offence to that. I finally get fed up with her attitude towards me and told her I was not having a good week either but I'm sure as **, didn't intend on making their day ** like they were doing to me when I came in there. She got this blank look on her face. She finally said sorry and I told her whatever. The temporary route delivery person placed a large package that was too large to fit into our mailbox, beside the mailbox on the ground. According to the management at this location, employees are supposed to take too large packages back to the office and leave us (the customer) a notification that we need to pick up a package. Delivery persons are not supposed to put packages on the ground beside the mailbox in the weather, especially on a Saturday.
I took the damaged package, which contained over $100 in merchandise, to the post office the following Monday morning. The acting manager "Reagan" stated that I would definitely get reimbursed for the items. It's because this particular delivery person had been specifically instructed not to leave packages if they were too big to fit in the mailbox. She retained the shoes and placed them in the safe at this location. She stated that the employee responsible would be held accountable to reimburse my company and that the funds would be withheld from her next paycheck. I have followed up with the post office for over 6 weeks. They informed me today that the employee responsible quit, and that I would not get reimbursed for the damaged items. I was told by an acting manager of the USPS that I would be reimbursed on several occasions. Now, the new postmaster "Victor" stated that I will not get reimbursed for the damaged items.

Last Saturday afternoon, I parked my car on the street in front of my apartment in Beverly Hills. I came outside an hour later to run an errand then there was a USPS truck parked in the red zone in front of my car, and found a note on my windshield. The Mail Carrier sideswiped my car while pulling in to make his deliveries. He gave his name and the name and phone # of the Post Master to call. I was able to talk to him when he returned to his truck. He said he was sorry, and that it happened because he was tired.
I called the Post Master yesterday morning, gave my information and he said that he'd call me back within the hour with instructions. He never called back, so I tried him at 2:00 pm and left a voicemail. I've waited until 4:55 pm today to get a phone call from someone, but nothing.
I called back and asked for him. I was transferred, he answered, said hello but quickly put me on hold and then it was disconnected. I didn't think I'd have to file a police accident report involving the USPS, but why can't anyone get back to me? I'm already upset because I own a gray market vehicle. It was specially imported from Switzerland (1 of 6 that have been imported in all of North America), and I get it serviced at a specialty garage all the way up in Sacramento.
Can someone please get back to me?

I did not receive any mail on 9/26/2011, my "resume date". I find it hard to believe that I did not receive any mail to hold for 8 days. I have been receiving my neighbor's mail in my box quite often here lately. I do my part. I place it back in my mailbox with the flag up, so the mail carrier will pick it up and see the mistake and deliver to the correct address. I expect the same courtesy. On September 6th, a "Sorry I Missed You Slip" was left in my box when I was home, with the door open, because my AC doesn't work and it was a hot day. I took two buses to retrieve the package from the post office and was given a different package. I followed up with the vendor to find that the Post Office indeed had my package but could not locate it.
I filed a complaint: ** and waited for a response/the package. I then filed a complaint: ** and waited, no response. I spoke to the complaint department on or around the 18th and was told that I should get a call back from the post office. Instead, I got an email. I called the Post Office listed in the email and asked that my package be delivered. The person answering the phone said I had to call back before 9:00AM the next day. That afternoon, I ran into Carrier #54: T. ** who promised to help me find the package. She searched for the package and could not locate it. She came to my door the next day and helped me track that the package was being sent back to the vendor six days after I filed the complaint, and 14 days after I went to the post office to pick it up.
I think they returned the package in retaliation for my filing the complaints on them not performing their duties. The lost packages and non-delivery only occur when T. ** (Carrier# 54) is not on duty. ** always ensures the delivery of every single parcel with a smile. No matter when I see her, she is genuinely happy and interested in knowing how my day went. I have seen her interact with other tenants where I reside in the UCLA Graduate Housing complex and her personable demeanor is unwaivering with every single tenant. It has gotten to the point that I now pray whenever I'm expecting a package that ** will deliver that day so that it will not get lost in the abyss.
The alternate carriers refuse to even take the packages out of the office. ** ensures delivery and always says "Have a Nice Day" when she hands it to you. She needs to be recognized for her professional commitment to her job. Whenever I tell her that I did not get a package when she was off, she will hunt it down and bring it to me. This route is a route no one wants to bid on so we get sloppy thirds and fourths. I have had carriers walk past me like I wasn't there when I asked them a question. Others have been insulted and told, "I don't care, I'll take as long as I want to get the mail out. In fact, now, I'm going to take longer."
I have a problem every single time I send out a parcel or receive one. This has been going on for two years. Yesterday, I asked carrier ** about a parcel that was handed off from UPS. Where do I start? I work for a small company which has outgoing mails on a daily basis (mostly packages). Let me first explain that the local post office I deal with is in Algonquin, Illinois. We use online postage printing to save time and then bring in the packages to the post office to drop them off. Every single time I am there, I get hassled. The first employee that I dealt with (who, thankfully, no longer works there) was always extremely rude. She would sigh at me and come short of yelling at me in front of customers in line behind me. She would yell in front of her coworkers because my employer was an ounce off on weight when he printed the postage.
Another time, I came in with several boxes going internationally. A lazy employee who was just standing behind the counter leaning on a desk smirked and told me that maybe I should have used UPS. Bud, I would love to use UPS and only UPS. UPS employees actually smile and do their jobs. Sorry for bothering you while you are on the clock, supposed to be doing your job. But it isn't pleasant for me to come visit you lazy, good for nothing, lazy people at the post office, either. There is only one person at the Algonquin post office who does his job and is a fine employee. His name is Ivan and everyone else should be fired and replaced except for Ivan.
When we send to Canada packages that weigh an ounce, it is literally a 50-50 chance for them to be delivered. I have had so many customers call and complain that they never received their mail a month after it was shipped. When we sent packages to Hawaii, our customers became nervous because it was over 3 weeks and they still have not received their packages. The estimated time on the USPS website states that it would take 6 to 10 days for priority mail. So, when I contacted customer service I was given some garbage about how it actually takes a longer time than stated on their own website for delivery. Great!
We use about $1000 every week on USPS postage. I am making an effort to not use USPS from now on. I have started using UPS for packages weighing 1 lb (waste of money but I'd rather not deal with the trash at the post office anymore). On more than one occasion, I have been sent back to the office by a post office employee. This is a waste of my time and gas. Why did I get sent back? Because the customs forms were in the wrong envelope on the box. They were not glued onto the box so I don't know why I was sent back to change the clear envelope from a UPS one to a USPS one. Why did they not supply it for me so that I could have peeled off the UPS one and put on a USPS there? I don't care if the world falls apart if USPS goes under. I will still clap my hands and rejoice that all the a** working for USPS are now unemployed.

Many people on Shoreland drive have had mail stolen from their home mailboxes. And the nearest blue box is at McClellan and Rainier avenue south, outside rite aid.
This is a long walk for someone disabled. Plus I just lost four pieces of mail from this supposedly "tamper proof" mailbox. May we please have our mount baker mailbox returned? Or may we please have one closer to this residential area? It would be much appreciated.

The USPS in the zip code 92173 is the worse service in the area of San Diego, CA. They have very rude people and they don't respect the customers. They need new workers, there is corruption in this USPS place, so they need to investigate those who works in there. Who knows if they are not safe people whom you can trust. Please find new workers or this place will go out of service. With the attitude of the people who are working there, I hope this will help to hire new people in this place, they need a change soon.
