I mailed package with the Christmas gifts to my family and friends in Belarus using USPS Express Mail International Service. I contacted USPS 3 times, no one was rude to me, but nobody was any help either. USPS website shows it dispatched NY. It simply disappeared! They offered me claim forms, but I would like someone to look for the package if possible. I can't believe no one has any idea where it went from NY. Or is it still in NY? Is it still on a plane?

On March 5, 2012 at 9:00am, the line was 12 people long and growing. One customer was processing a dozen packages and the Oceanside, NY branch had only one postal clerk position open. The manager stuck her head out and asked if anyone had a pickup - no one responded. I asked the woman (I think her name was Rachel, she was the office manager), if she could open another position and she said she had no one. I asked if she could do it and she just walked away. Her demeanor was one of being irritated. This is just another reason why you guys are going belly up.

I sent a package to a customer in California using delivery confirmation which shows the package was received at Boston post office and made it as far as the New Jersey sort facility and has made no progress since then for over a month. The customer hasn't received it. I have called the USPS help line who told me someone would contact me within 48 hours, which they didn't. I then raised an email query which states a reply will be made within 48 hours, which it wasn't. USPS seems to be completely unaccountable and their staff totally disinterested in lost/stolen items in their care. Unfortunately for many people trying to do business, other shipping options (other companies besides USPS) are too expensive to be viable. This is the third lost package in two months.

My home address where I receive my mail is: **. Also, I have a PO Box ** located in the Bitter Lake Station. I had to acquire a PO Box due to the fact that I was missing mail too often. Although I have a PO Box, some mail like credit cards were stolen from my box at my street address. I had to deal with it and had to buy a keyed mailbox for my street address. The mail is delivered to my home address at around 11AM, so I pick up DVDs sent from Netflix. I have enough time to watch my movie from 11AM until afternoon at around 4:45PM. I return the DVD at the postal office. This has been a routine for a while until I started to miss the delivery that Netflix has scheduled.

One day, about a month and a half ago, after missing a delivery, I called the post office for an explanation. According to the attendant, everything was normal. That was my first complaint. The second time my mail was not at home at 11AM, I waited all day long until I saw the mail carrier vehicle approaching my block just a few minutes before 4PM. To my surprise, the vehicle turned around the corner at the block before mine, so I waited again. When I had waited long enough, I decided to go see where the vehicle had gone. Again, to my surprise, I noticed that the vehicle turned onto Aurora Ave N heading toward the postal station. So I went to the postal station and complained again to the attendant. For these two times, I had to submit my driver's license to check on my address and document the occurrence. Again, the explanation I got was that everything was normal.

On Saturday, 03-03-2012, I had a schedule to receive my DVD from Netflix. When my mail didn't arrive at 11AM, I waited until 1:30 and called the office. At 2:00, U went to complaint about my missing mail. The attendant had his explanations, but my mail has not been delivered. At 3:00PM, I called again but the phone was disconnected so I went to the office. The office was closed for business at that time, the buzzer at the service door was disconnected and so I went home and stopped at a place to eat. At around 4:50, I was arriving at home and noticed that the mail carrier vehicle was pulling away from my block. My mail had been delivered, but way too late and after the postal office had been closed for a couple of hours. These mail holdings caused me a great deal of inconveniences because it cost me money that I am paying to have these DVDs delivered and returned on time to keep a steady and normal flow of my DVD service.

An example of these inconveniences is now. If I had had my DVD delivered at 11AM or before closing time last Saturday, I could have had returned that DVD on time. I returned that DVD at around 6PM on that Saturday. If I had returned that DVD before closing time that day, I should be receiving my next DVD tomorrow Tuesday, 07. Now, I have to wait until Netflix receives their DVD to schedule another shipment. As you see, these mail holdings offsets my services for which I am paying. Before, when I didn't know why my mail was not delivered on time and at the day it is scheduled to be at home, I had to take it as it was. But now, enough is enough. Now I know why I have been missing my deliveries and I want this issue to be corrected immediately. I thank you very much for your kind and immediate attention.

Intentional Misdirection of Package: My brother sent me a Priority Package to my address in Sihanoukville, Cambodia from Milton, Washington. It has been intentionally misdirected to Mexico by the postal employees in the San Francisco sort facility. A few weeks ago, I had an express letter sent to me and it took forever to leave the San Francisco facility and I paid for international express mail. About two months ago, I was sent a priority package from Milton, Washington and it took 4 days to get to the San Francisco facility and was held up there before finally shipping overseas. I believe that since I filed complaints against the USPS and employees, that employees (supervisors) at the San Francisco sort facility intentionally misdirected my package to Mexico so that it could be stolen and/or lost. This is a federal crime and should be investigated, but will be covered up by the USPS.

I went to the post office at 7436 S Exchange Ave. to deliver a package at approximately 4:45 pm. Before I approached the counter for help, he had already spoken to two customers with a harsh tone and disposition. For example, the lady asked for scissors to cut the tape and the male postal representative became very aggressive and loud. He stated to the customer, "I don't have scissors to give you. Use the pen in your hand to cut the tape." So of course I was hoping that maybe he would address me appropriately, but I was wrong. I asked him if I could get some tape to secure my box and seconds later, he began to go off again and stated, "You should have some tape. This is not the store." So I proceeded to ask if I could purchase some tape and he began to tell me with a very irritated tone, "Here is some tape and bring it back!" This type of behavior is unacceptable on all levels. I cringe when I have to go to this postal branch.

USCIS N-400 Express Delivery Forms - I requested the documented service. They said it didn't work but that the track number must be enough to protect the packet. That is not enough in my country but this was the service recommended for the USCIS. They didn't deliver in the suite indicated or even the USCIS. They delivered it in a Chase Bank that is just beside the USCIS. Potential consequence of the document not arriving and being stolen is potentially catastrophic to me like identity theft and being deported.

I am having problems with receiving my mail, and need help with fighting with the United States Postal Service. I have spoken with the Assistant Manager, Dee **, at the West Brae location. Ms. ** has come over, and released my mail, by opening the mail carrier door. This is an ongoing problem with the carrier, over stuffing my mailbox. This overstuffing does not allow the key to turn to open the mail box. Ms. ** came over on Feb. 29, 2012, opening the carrier door to release my mail. Today's date is March 2. 2012. I again cannot turn my key to open my mailbox. I spoke with the manager Ms. Borenda ** today at 4:02PM, about the ongoing problem with the mail carrier, not being careful of overstuffing the mailboxes, preventing the residents from retrieving their mail.

The West Brae location does not see any responsibility on the carrier’s poor job in overstuffing the mails of the residents, and will not come to release my mail anymore. I asked what the policy was for the amount a carrier should put in a box. Ms. **, as well as Ms. ** says the carrier can stuff as much as fitting in the box. On February 29, 2012, the mail Ms. ** released for me was balled up, as if it was thrown away, instead of delivered. This shows the carrier is overstuffing, with no concern if the lock can be turned by the resident. I have opened a case with the Consumer Affairs Department on February 29, 2012, because my problem has been ongoing, since the original carrier left my route. Please help me in resolving this problem.

The package was delivered nearly a week ago and there is still no update in your system showing it was ever delivered and there is no delivery confirmation. Now, I am having problems with the package. The cost to me is substantial. I have called the main post office several times without success at getting my problem solved (1-800 ASK); finally, they said to call the Nantucket office. I called several times over the period of a couple of days without any response. No one has responded to my messages. No calls, no updates to the system. What kind of post office do we have if we cannot count on the system to work? I paid good money for a service that I never received, and the cost to me is thousands of dollars.

It also is left up all night and it does not have a light on it. The POW flag finally was taken down after I called about its condition too. This is a disgrace and an embarrassment that a federal building would have flag displayed looking like this!

We here in Bowling Green, KY have been lied to! As we have all heard post offices are being shut down and our sorting is now going to be done in Nashville, TN. That is a blatant lie based on most recent tracking on multiple packages in and out of the area. Evidence: Two parcels went out. one to a small KY town just north of BG and one sent from BG, KY to PA. Did they stop in Nashville for sorting? No! They are skipping Nashville all together and being routed straight to Memphis. I send parcels out all the time and since the change, not one of these, even the ones coming straight back to KY are going to Nashville!

So I test mailed a letter to myself on February 28th. It is now the 2nd, four days and still has not arrived. Nashville is just 60 miles from BG. Memphis is practically another state away. The delay, not to mention the extra gas and logistics. How exactly is this going to save the USPS money? People are going to quit using USPS all together and they will lose even more revenue, not to mention customers!

I am upset that I contacted USPS on the phone and explained my complaint about a week and a half ago and have not heard from anyone from the complaint office or from anyone from management! My case number is **. This is unacceptable! We have never had any problems with any courier since we had the young female. She did not ring the bell when I was home expecting a package (when she said she did). When I get an e-mail notice from UPS or USPS, we make arrangements to be home! She did not leave the slip that day but the next day, she tried to put the slip in the door with the other mail.

When I opened the door to get the mail, I noticed the date on the slip was from the day before, which she tried to hurry away. I wanted to ask her why didn't she leave the slip or package. If she would have tried to really deliver the package, my security door is unlocked for that purpose (for packages). I really don't think she even care! I have family and friends working at the post office and deliver mail and said that if we let it go, it will continue! I am really angry that no one contacted me yet by phone or e-mail! This is unacceptable for the courier and from management! With all the job cuts, you would think that she would value her job! Dissatisfied customer!

My husband, Tommy **, and I moved on March 1, 2012 and have tried several times to get a change of address form from 2 different post offices. The one at 71446 only had a card telling me to go online and pay money to prove it was me. I was there in person with a current driver's license. We recently had our credit card hacked and fraudulent charges were made. We are not comfortable giving our new credit card or debit card number over the Internet even on a secure site.

I went to the post office located at 71459 at 3:35 pm today to find that the window services were closed, no change of address forms in the lobby, and to boot, the hours of operation have been scraped off the doors. I’ve wasted time and costly fuel trying to get my change of address completed. The address used in this email is the old address. My new one is **, Leesville, LA 71446. My mail is still being delivered to an address that I no longer live at and is now subject to being stolen. We started trying to turn in a change of address as soon as we rented our new place. There needs to be a form you can download, print, fill out and mail or hand back into a post office to get this completed. My husband is a retired postal worker.

Non-delivery of Mail: My girlfriend and I moved into an apartment in late September 2011. It was a newly renovated building and the city issued a new address. The landlord met with the mail carrier to decide upon a good location for the mailbox. For the first couple of weeks, we received all mail, but ever since, it arrives sporadically. At least half our mail is returned to sender, address unknown. This week a credit card was suspended because mail is consistently returned to them. My cell phone company has threatened to do the same. Christmas cards were all returned to sender. Utility bills (predictably) are the only mail that arrives without fail. We have been to our local branch on several occasions and each time they said they would correct the problem, yet it was never resolved.

In January, we called the "Consumer Advocate," quickly received an email from the USPS, then never heard back again. Here is a copy of the email: "Dear Customer, This is an auto-reply message provided to acknowledge our receipt of your inquiry. Your issue is being assigned for review, research, and resolution. We will contact you if more information is needed. Otherwise, we will provide a response as soon as possible. Thank you for contacting the United States Postal Service."

I ordered somethings online that cost close to $200 and was tracking it day by day. When the day came for it to be out for delivery, I checked my mailbox and my package was not there even though it said it was delivered. So the next day, I went to my local post office to let them know what the problem was. They looked in the computer to find out the mail carrier who delivered the mail that day. They gave me a phone number to call the next morning to get more information. So I called and the phone stayed busy. So early in the morning, I went back to the post office to talk to another manager. He was of no help either. He brought the mail carrier to me so I can see who she was and she said she never delivered the mail to my residents at the time that was shown with the tracking number. He said he would call me back in 2 hours with some information.

He actually called me back and said he didn't get any more information, so he told me to get a pen to write down a 1800 number and while I was getting a pen, he hung up the phone. I called the number back, there was no answer so I went back to the post office to confront him. They told me he left for the day. I truly believe a mail carrier stole my package and I'm not getting any justice. This is not the first time this has happened to me. This is the third time.

Being a graveyard worker, I do much of my shopping online since most stores are not open when I get out of work. I usually use UPS or FedEx when I need a parcel that is time sensitive; otherwise, I use USPS. When ordering products online, I am given a tracking system showing on what date my products are in town and out for delivery. I track my orders daily so that I can be up waiting on the mail on the expected delivery date. I began noticing that when I use USPS, that the delivery man would just put an orange slip in the mail box and I would have to wait for the next business day to pick up my parcels.

At first, I thought it was no big deal; however, this is with every parcel that I order. So I began leaving the door wide open around the time the mail would come--same outcome. Finally, I was kind of fed up with having to get dressed, go up to the post office and stand in line for 45 minutes. I called the local post office and filed a complaint with the supervisor. The supervisor assured me that he would have a talk to the delivery person.

Soon after, I began noticing that I would not receive mail for 2, 3, even 4 days at a time. And when I did, I would have an abundance of mail for the day. Well, maybe they have been backed up at the post office. Finally, on Feb. 24th, I ordered a ring online. My ring arrived in ABQ on the 27th at 7:43 am, Sorting complete on the 27th at 8:09 am, Out for Delivery on the 27th at 8:19 am, no status update as of Feb 27th at 10:19 pm, no further update since.

I've called to talk to the post office and they told me that they would talk to the delivery man and ask him about my parcel. They took my number and said that they would call me back--there was no call back. I called the next day and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that the supervisor would give me a call before six o'clock--no call back.

Angry and concerned, yesterday, I called and spoke with Noah (supervisor) and he said that the delivery man never came across a parcel for my address and I need to file a claim with the company I ordered my ring from. It is this type of behavior that the postal service is getting a bad reputation. Tampering with peoples' mail out of retaliation is a federal offense no matter what way you look at it. Lastly, my boyfriend ordered a CD from online being delivered by USPS. It was out for delivery on the 28th and surprisingly, no status update ever since. This is out of control and stressing me out.

I'm filing a complaint against our mail carrier. They would not give us her name. Everything started back a few years ago when a snow blow knocked over our neighbors and our mailboxes. Winter that year was extremely cold, below zero and snow was a lot, I must say. Being that we were unable to fix our boxes until weather was better, until then we had to just support them the best we could. Our neighbor was elderly and we were to do his for him also. Mail service didn't approve of the support we had but there was nothing we could do and they were at a level where they could function. I know because I have an SUV and had no trouble pulling up to my mailbox and reaching in to receive my mail.

However, our carrier decided she didn't like this. One day, I watched her push over our mail boxes and took our mail back to the post office but left a nasty note for us on our mailboxes before doing this. I immediately went and reported her and from this day our service has been horrible. She refuses to come to our door for certified mail and she jams packages in our box that don't even really fit in it and is very difficult to get out. Luckily, we have not had any damage to what has been inside these boxes. I do not work and wait for our mail to come before leaving my home, especially when I know we are to receive certified mail or packages via US Postal Service. She makes no attempt to come to our door. I have discussed this several times with the supervisor and this last discussion with ** the supervisor of Mattawan Post Office, 55680 N, Main St, Mattawan, MI 49071.

With today’s closing of postal stations and laying off of employees, you would think they would appreciate their jobs. I'm sure we've been tagged as complainers but we've done nothing. Nothing will be left at our door, even when we sign consent. All of this over our mailboxes being knocked over years ago that we had no control over. And when the weather cleared we bought and fixed both our neighbor’s and our own mail boxes. They even tried to complain it was the wrong height and distance from road after being done but we made sure everything was by regulation. We would like some form of corrective action taken, seeing the supervisor has done nothing for this. It's been at least 3 years now and our service stinks. The Mattawan Post Office staff has always been very pleasant when I go inside, so we have no complaint with them.

On February 10, 2012, I went to my local neighborhood postal center 20 minutes until 5 pm just before last mail pickup route to have a package delivered to Puerto Rico for Valentine's to my granddaughter. I had everything properly in the box ready to ship. I only needed to seal the top of the package. I asked the associate that was handling my mail if she could kindly seal the top for me as I had ran out of tape. Before she sealed the box, I noticed that she peeked to see what was in there and said, "Oh, you have lots of stuff in there," and took the box to the back and said she had to weigh and measure it in order to charge accordingly to postal charges. So I was okay with that but this was not the first time I have sent a box the exact same size before and I was wondering why would she take it to the back if the weight station was right in front of me where she has always had it. Well, she came back and said if I wanted to pay $20 for shipping or $50. I said to her, "What's the difference in the price?" She responded $25 she gets it in 2 to 9 days and $50 in 4 or less because of the holiday.

So I said no rush. I will pay the $25 hoping the package would arrive on time since my sister had just sent a package going the same route a day before me. My sister's package arrived just on time two days earlier than expected. I gave mine the time specified 2 to 9 days. The nine days passed by giving it two more days after Valentine's and still nothing had been delivered or returned to sender. So I went to the postal center where I sent it off from and explained that the package had not been delivered yet and she said give it another week. Now, at this point, I'm really mad and suspect that she might have kept the package herself because that day that I took the package in, she had her granddaughter there with her in the office but I didn't think anything of it until the package became lost, not delivered or mishandled mail.

Her granddaughter was the same size as the belongings that I was sending to my granddaughter and that put me to think that the package never made it out of there since she did peek in the box and mentioned what I had in there. Well, it's now March 1st and the package still has not been delivered. I don't plan on going there anymore. I don't trust her handling my mail anymore. There were two other times since before the second week went by that I let her know about the package not making it to its destination and she said this happens all the time, "You're not the only one it happens to." But it was the way she said it that convinced me it never went out. She never looked me in the eye. She was talking to me but not looking at me straight-faced.

First of all, online it'll say that they attempted to deliver my package when there was no notice on the door. I stayed home from work the next day to wait but nobody came. Bills would be in mailbox, but not the package. Online, it'll say they attempted to deliver it! I have to go to the post office to get my package with the tracking number and ID every single time and never had a problem. They must have changed their policy or something because the same thing happened but this time, they left a notice but they no longer attempted to deliver it so I went to the post office to be told that I can't get my package with the ID I've been using to get my other packages for years because the address is different. What?

I have the notice, the email on my phone tracking the package and the ID. I even have the invoice for the package on my phone. They weren't trying to hear it. They told me to go home, get my marriage license which doesn't have the address on it but the one on ID, an electric or gas bill, which are all in my husband's name. How am I supposed to get my package?, I asked. He replied, schedule a redelivery. I left pissed. I called the 800 number to do so, the representative asked if I would like to place a complaint? I did so and I got a call from the post office today and she told me "that's protocol, anybody can have the notice". But can everybody have all my information? She told me to stay home and wait for the package. I'm very displeased with their service and will try to use another carrier for my packages. Time is money and they wasted a lot of time.

I run a small seed company that requires me to ship seed packets throughout the US. Even though my envelopes are marked with blaring red letters that state "NON-MACHINABLE! DO NOT CRUSH! ", my seeds always arrive at the recipient in pieces. Even when I changed my shipping methods to bubble envelopes and boxes now stamped with the same message in addition to "FRAGILE!", my customers are still reporting that their packages are torn to pieces and boxes squashed thin. Maybe it's time I started shipping out seeds in Kevlar?

Recently, my mother also sent me some porcelain dishes in boxes that were padded, filled with packaging peanuts, swaddled in bubble wrap, and crammed with newspaper while marked "Caution! Handle With Care! This Side Up! Contains Porcelain!" in the largest red letters known to man. Somehow, despite all these precautions, every piece of China had managed to be smashed.

If that isn’t bad, the mailer envelope containing heirloom photos of my family and my pregnancy ultrasound was sharply bent 3 times to be crammed with my other mail despite printed warnings of "Photos: DO NOT BEND!"

She went to the post office to correct the issue four times, nothing happened. So I went to the same post office at the corner of Bermuda and Pebble Rd in Las Vegas, NV 89123 and tried to handle it myself. While in line, two customers almost got into a fight because one of the employees provoked a fight between them. The manager, a woman named Pat, attending to me at the time was very arrogant, stuck-up, rude and very unprofessional. When I told her what was happening about my mail, she told me to fill out another change of address. I told her four had been filled out and then she copped an attitude and said "deal with it on your own" and walked away, leaving me embarrassed in front of a lot of people. She did nothing to reprimand the employee who started the fight between the two men!

It all started in January 2012. US government agency sent important receipt to my zip code 57701 address which was on their file. The mail has Return Service Request stamp on it. USPS postal carrier never delivered the mail to my 57701 address and sent it back to the sender. The sender sent another mail asking for address verification to my old address (zip code 62025) as now they got my old address because USPS returned my earlier mail without delivering it. I verified my change of address from USPS as it was done in August 12, 2011 and it is in good order. Folks in my old address never got second mail sent by the sender and we couldn't take any action on address verification due to this. Now, the sender sent another mail through USPS priority mail with tracking number to my old address, which according to USPS tracking number, was delivered on Jan. 30, 2012. But again, folks on 62025 address haven't received this delivered mail yet.

We started our inquiry from government agency that sent us the mail and got the tracking number for it. USPS tracking system says mail was delivered, but in fact, that mail has never been delivered. We are very sure about this because of the fact that USPS office in zip code 62025 just delivered old piece of mail on Feb. 28, 2012 with the request of address verification from government agency that was sent on January. If they didn't deliver old mail sent from the same agency earlier and just delivered after we started our inquiry, there is no reason to believe that my mail with tracking numbered was delivered on Jan. 30, 2012. I am going through emotional suffering as this was very time sensitive important document. If I don't find it, I have to apply for new document which is going to cost me more than $400 and several months of time.

I am very much angry with USPS and dissatisfied with their service. We went to our local USPS and called old location USPS, but they insist that the mail has already been delivered but I don't believe them as they just delivered my more than 45 days old mail yesterday. I don't know how to solve this matter. I can't even take any action against them as USPS is US government agency.

This is completely unacceptable! We have had thefts of mail in our area. We had placed mail in our box for pickup yesterday and I find that it was not picked up! We never know when the mail has come or not and therefore having gone to bed, find that it was delivered late at night and remained in the box overnight.

This complaint is in regards to our local post office. We had a package missing in December 2011. We called and reported it to The United States Postal Service at 1-800-275-8777 and our local carrier as well as to the California Post Master. We were treated rudely by the postmaster and told it was probably stolen. However, the package showed up the next day.

Two weeks ago, we inquired about a magazine that was scheduled to be delivered on January 17. The response was "You get what I get." and the magazine was delivered the next day.

Today, we walk into a church and were handed a card addressed to our family with a "Returned to Sender" stamp and a yellow sticker saying undeliverable as addressed, unable to forward. We have not moved or put in a forward. We are the only residents ever at this address and have resided here for over seven years. Other members of the family have lived on this route for over 40 years.

We are extremely dissatisfied and feel that our California, MD Post Office is not providing prompt, reliable, and efficient services to us, their patrons. I filled two previous complaints and have spoken with the postmaster. The postmaster told us we are getting our mail and on time. This is untrue, and I have evidence to prove it.

Sometimes, it is a building over from others and some of them do not know who all lives here, and much mail is being returned and not delivered properly. How negligent can you be? This is an open invitation to take the package! Where was the care in this delivery? Where was the responsibility?

The worst part of this is at first, the mail carrier lied and said, "I spoke to the recipient on the phone," and, "I left the package in a secured building." Neither of these statements was true. He told me that the package was delivered on the 15th and a key put in our box. No key ever received. The package weighed 2 oz. I am sure our mail carrier looked for our package today but unfortunately with no avail.

He sternly stated that it was delivered. I told him this was a cake topper for my son's birthday and that upset me. He then said if you say you did not get the package, you think the mail carrier stole it. So unprofessional. Our mail carrier is a very nice person. His unprofessionalism was uncalled for. I am reporting this not because I lost my $10 because the package was not insured. I am reporting this because I do not want anyone else to go through this type of treatment that is not necessary. USPS tracking showed a package was delivered but it was not in my mailbox and the manager did not receive the package, so it’s lost in the ether. I guess it’s hard for the paste eaters that deliver the mail to put small packages and letters in the mailbox in a timely and efficient matter. I might be expecting too much from them. I was told it was going to be ready in 7 business days. I called on the 7th day and they told me it was ready. I left work early to pick my key up and they say, “Oh, it is not ready. I don't know why it is not ready. The guy didn't see your name but it is going to be ready next week, Tuesday.”

So I have been calling since then. All I get is rude answers. I spoke to a lady name Mary ** and she was so nasty. I don't know how she got hired because she was very unprofessional, rude and didn't want to find out if my key were ready or not. At this point, I'm just in the limbo. If I want a package delivered overnight, it means delivered overnight, not a note saying "I am sorry you were not home". It was important to get it that day at his home, get off at lunch to get it, then use as it is needed. It's such a waste of time and money again, from an already poorly ran and serviced United States Post Office!

I cannot be without them. The Blue Point PO constantly delivers to the wrong address in our neighborhood. I have complained numerous times, but much of the time, the postmaster has been changed so my complaints go nowhere. This is not an ordinary piece of mail. It was properly addressed. I mailed all 3 packages by priority mail on 2/7/12. So far, only one of those packages has made it to its destination today, being 2/21/12. Inside, the contents were not in need of insuring since they contained mostly sentimental homemade items like Valentines & chocolate for my children, birthday cookies for my son, and a birthday card.

In one package was an apron & some homemade ribbon scarves for my sister-in-law. I went to the Post Office with my receipt and asked what I can do about this. He essentially brushed me off, saying, "I suppose it will all get there eventually." My, how reassuring! And you wonder why your postal service is on the brink. I spent almost $20.00. For 75 cents more for each package, I could have them by confirmed mail. However, I was told that even if I sent it by confirmed mail, that would not guarantee the arrival of my package. What else can I do?

Tell me, is that good customer service? Through their mishandling, they lost the package, and it isn't their fault because I didn't buy insurance? I am thinking that it is no wonder that the USPS is going broke. In the future, I will use FedEx or UPS to send my packages.

I did file a complaint on their 800 #, but it didn't do any good. No one wants to be helpful or make it right by refunding at least the postage so I can send a replacement package. If any other big business had such terrible customer service, I am sure they would be bankrupt too.

I generated a label for a DVD shipment to Canada on 12/29/11. I subsequently took it to the post office at the above location and presented it to Edwin as I was instructed to do by the USPS website. The proposed recipient of the package received an email notice and USPS questioned me as to why the label, in addition to Canada, denoted Great Britain, United Kingdom. I called the 800 # and was assured that the package was being sent to Canada and that Canada was not considered part of the United Kingdom.

The item was scheduled for delivery in 3-5 business days, however, until January 6th, I noticed that the tracked item had not even left the Canadian Office of Exchange. I went back to the post office and spoke to Edwin. He in turn spoke to his supervisor and I was told that I had to wait until I received a confirmation of delivery before anything could be done. Once again, I pointed out that the item had additional mailing addresses on it.

I had been tracking the item since 12/29 and I went back to the post office on 2/3/12 and was told by Edwin and his supervisor, Becky, that the shipment had arrived in Canada on 1/2/12 and that the US Post Office had done what they had to do. This was disregarding the fact that the shipment was supposed to be in the hands of the recipient by Jan 6th. However, it has not even traversed through Canada Customs by that time.

Once again the problem of mislabeling was discussed and I had repeatedly pointed it out that I did not label it as such. Edwin and his supervisor told me that I could not get a refund for the $27.55 that I had paid. I went to another post office at 2641 Uintah St. in Colorado Springs. The supervisor, Lisa, could see that by the lengthy tracking sheet, I had not received the services that I should have and issued me a refund of $27.55 based on services not rendered.

The item was sent to Canada 3 times and was bounced back to the US several times before it was returned to me on Feb 8th! When I visited the post office on S 25 St. to retrieve the return shipment, I was waited on by another retail clerk, Terri who told me that I was lucky to get a refund and also said that the clerk, Edwin, who accepted my package, was not responsible for assuring that the package was addressed properly.

Somehow the burden was on me even though my package had been bounced around for approximately 40 days. The services that I received from this post offfice was rude, inadequate, inefficient and disrepectful!

If they don't want to deliver packages TO people...they are in the wrong line of work. If I was getting paid to walk out in the rain and get my packages...I wouldn't mind. They said they didn't know which route the box went from my post office in Nj to California, which is also a little hard to believe. I believe that my package is still somewhere in the postal system. It is now February 17, a month and a half later, and I have yet to receive the package. The USPS website says 5-8 days, but when I called to inquire about my package (after 3 weeks) they told me that it can actually take up to 14 days (which it was over). The customer service agent on the phone was very polite and stated that she would be looking into it, and that I should hear from them in 2 business days. 4 days go by without a call, so I call back and let them know I did not hear anything. The next ting I know I get a call directing me to consumer affairs. I call consumer affairs who tells me that because my item was shipped parcel post it was not as important as other packages and that 14 days is just an estimate and that until the "important" packages slow down mine will not be shipped.

I was very angry about the tone and so I called customer service to put in another complaint about the consumer affairs person. Again, everyone was nice and again they said I should hear something in 2 days, concerning their behavior. I am still waiting on that call. I wait a few more days and decide to put in a complaint in online, thinking that maybe they would get back to me quicker that way. This did not work either. I called again about the package and the issues I have been having, this time requesting a manager. This time customer service was not nice to me and when they finally relented to give me a manager, they hung up on me instead. I called back and when the customer service person answered, I told them that I needed to speak to a manager now as another agent had blatantly hung up on me when I asked to be transferred.

So the manager talked to me, and stated that the reason I had not heard anything was because there was nothing new to report, and that they would not just call to call. I expressed to them that I was told I would hear back in 2 business days to call. He took my information again and gave me yet another case number, and said that I should hear from them in 2 business days. This time I did hear--unfortunately, I did not get to my phone in time and they left a message. I have tried every day for a week now to call back, each time I get a message that all circuits are busy. I still do not have my package and am unable to get a hold of anyone for assistance. I explained to them that I was leaving on December the 28th for 6 weeks. They told me not to worry about it and to just take care of it when I returned.

When I got back, I went the next day to the post office and was told the fee would be $60.00 plus $15.00 for a late fee. I refuse to pay this late fee as I tried to pay this bill before it was past due but your office would not accept the payment. I have used the USPS for years to send packages, etc. In fact, my company spent over $8,000 on regular postage last year. We have over fifty reps in as many cities that spend the same amount or more.

As of today, we will have our local reps deliver these packages straight to the customer and any packages that are mailed will be delivered by UPS or Fedex. I may still have to use the USPS for a few things but I already use it less and less for personal issues, and in today's business world, we have free email and several options to avoid using the snail mail. I have also sent a memo to all my reps that we will not reimburse them for any postage from the USPS. If they use Fedex or UPS they will be reimbursed for sending a weekly package. This action will save our company thousands of dollars per year.

I can see why the post office is slowly going down the drain. Years ago, the post office was a respectable organization with decent and caring people. I am not surprised that they are closing offices and laying people off. With this kind of customer service, who would want to do business with them. I will only use the post service for things that I cannot do by email, online bill pay or the internet.

So, I say "Thank You" to the manager at East Ridge,Tn Post Office for being such a jerk. Your action has single handedly lost thousands of dollars per year for your organization. All this over a $15.00 late fee and your inability to perform a basic customer service function.

You may not have noticed this, but Fedex, UPS and other private delivery services have been increasing even in a recession. Just a simple observation would say that people are tired of dealing with the incompetence in the USPS, so they go to one of your competitors. Good for them, bad for the USPS.

I am also disabled and going to this post office is very hard. I have to get someone to take me. I cannot get them to send my mail. And the lady Chenise was very rude. She said she is the post office for all of Katy and if my mail had the correct address, it would be put in my box. I have mail to prove that she is wrong. I cannot receive my income because of this error on their part and I cannot continue missing appointments. I cannot get my bank check or bank card from my bank because of this error. I am very sad and unhappy.

The postman drops all the mails belonging to different apartments of my three-apartment building into one of the mail boxes. Sometimes I find a bunch of mails of my neighbors delivered in my mail box and sometimes my mails are found in one of their mail boxes. This unfortunate and frustrating incident occurs every now and then. The mailman seems very careless and irresponsible towards his job. I work in the daytime and chances of seeing or directly speaking with him is very little. There are many instances of my receiving important mails because my mails are delivered to my neighbor's box.

I hope the concerned authorities will look into this matter and apply strict rules for all the postmen to be serious and responsible in their jobs.

This is the second time this has happened. On October 21, 2011 I mailed a payment to Atmos Energy in St Louis, MO which they never received. Approximately a month later I received it back with a yellow sticker dated 11/5/2011 saying return to sender undeliverable as addressed which the address was correct. With the info on the label I contacted USPS to see what had happened and was told they probably had mistaken a digit in the zip code even though the four-digit additional zip code was included. Today I find out Atmos Energy has not received my payment which was mailed 1/23/12. There is definitely something wrong with postal service in that area. I have never a problem with any other mail except this and it has cost me money and extreme grief.

This is my first package lost! It was technically a poly envelope with a $150 rare dress inside it. It's size XS so we're talking a small article here, I don't know if that is a factor in its disappearance or not. It was sent first class, on 1/30. It is now 2/15. Nothing has updated since departing its origin sort facility. So begins the runaround. I called USPS. I'm given a case number, blah, blah. I gave specifics regarding the parcel, like from whom and where it was coming from and of course to who it should have been delivered to, etc. Representative agrees the time that has elapsed is excessive for first class and opens a case for me. I'm told this requires 48 hours to get some investigating done (not counting the weekend not counting).

When they didn't call within 48 hours as I was assured they would, I got nosy and decided to give my local post office a call. It was pointless. After they ask what to be on the look out for and if it turns up, they will call. I thought they would notify the sort facilities involved along the way to my house. It doesnt seem like that's part of this process at all but is critical in finding it, that is if it;s not stolen anyways! I am unable to give a call to any sorting facility by the way. They have no phone numbers available! Another four days passes and no updates or calls. So I tried USPS once more and told them it's a white dress with cherries on it, in case the envelope was damaged or the article came loose somehow. With this new info I gave, I received a whole new case number!

Now, two more days for them to do whatever they are doing to fix this problem. It feels hopeless! Next step here? I don't know! I want to file a claim. Even if for nothing else, to at least alert the higher ups at USPS that someone on the way from Anaheim to St. Paul steals packages even when they have delivery confirmation but probably so long as it doesn't have insurance! This one unfortunately had no insurance purchased by my shipper but that much would not matter anyhow. It can't be replaced with money. This was one of a kind and ultra rare. I want the dress not the money!

My disappointment cannot be adequately described here. If I could close this by simply requesting that the sorting facilities between Anaheim, CA and St. Paul, MN be notified of the lost poly envelope or of its contents, the white and cherry dress and forward to them exactly who it belongs to! That would be satisfactory. I can't trust the post office ever again, I see that now. Sad.

I sent Christmas presents from San Francisco, CA to Sarasota, FL on Dec. 13, 2011 and they have still not arrived at their shipping location. I knew sending packages at Christmas time might cause delays, and I was okay with that (a few days, a week, that's ok) but it's been two months and no one has a clue what happened. I have spoken with several people from consumer affairs, customer service and my local facility and everyone tells me the same thing: its last location was scanned at Bell Gardens, CA.

That was five days after I sent it and no one has seen it since. I have emailed and called more time than I can count, have been given three case numbers and still, not a single person can find anything. The package is somewhere. It didn't disappear into thin air unless someone stole the gifts so it shouldn't be that hard to find. What I don't get is why no one is capable of calling the Bell Gardens facility and asking them where they sent it. This is unacceptable and makes me never want to use the USPS ever again. These gifts were personal and sentimental and I can't buy them again. I just wish someone in the USPS had some common sense and urgency. I wish I could give it no stars.

I went to pay for my P.O. Box, $22 for 6 months. Well, she said I was late and had to pay a 15-dollar late fee. Common sense, in this economy if I didn't have $22, I surely don't have $37 to pay for my mail. I asked for my mail and they refused to give it to me. They said the late fee was non-reversible and would not give me my mail.

I asked what was going to happen to my mail, they said they would send it back undeliverable. I was right there, it was extortion. I didn't pay the late fee...no mail. I was there to pay the $22 for my P.O. Box but because I did not have $15 more or feel it was fair, I can't receive my mail anymore!

I would prefer that someone please contact me about the verbal abuse I received from Bob, the supervisor, at the Mayport Road, Atlantic Beach Post Office. I was extremely mortified by the way he treated me when I called to check about a package that had been delivered two days prior to today. He literally screamed at me on the phone and when I asked for a supervisor, he then informed me that he runs the place and has for two years. When I told him I was going to complain, he started mocking me, almost laughingly. He also argued with me when I stated I deserve the same treatment as anyone walking into any business where my money is spent, even if it is the US Postal Service. He laughed and told me to call the 800 number.

Now, I'm just angry! First of all, he lied. Secondly, he spoke to me like a drunk truck driver, not a customer. At this point, I would like time to do an address change, then I would like a full refund on my PO box. He also argued and screamed at me about the rates going up. I received one bill. When I went to pay my bill, the charges went up. I received zero notification of this increase. He stated "too bad"! Let me end by saying, when I say he screamed at me, I mean he screamed at me. I was in my professional small Atlantic Beach office and my customers could even hear him. They can also attest that I was polite until he escalated the situation completely out of nowhere and for no reason. At no time did I scream the way he did at me, but I will say he was on speaker and even the office next door heard him yelling and laughing at me.

Very disappointed, but not surprised. More often than not, the service received is less than average. Very, very sad situation when so many others would love to have his job and do it by treating people with dignity and respect.

This unprofessional pink slip makes fun of my country. That's discrimination of ethnic origin. I did that on Jan 13th and got some of my money but just yesterday, I get an email back from paypal stating that the dispute claim has been closed because the tracking info on usps.com shows that it has been delivered to me. Not sure what happened, why it was changed.

Once again, I called USPS and they are telling me that it's in the archives and will take some time to pull out that tracking information again. Now, in the meantime, the seller still has not received the refused package I sent. I certainly do not have the package. All I have is an email update of the details from USPS, showing the detailed dates of the package, from the time it left the seller and the time it got stuck in Dallas, TX. But if I go online again and type the tracking info, it doesn't give me that detailed info any longer. All it says is that it was delivered to me. Now, I do not know what to do. Very upsetting because I have been dealing with this for over a month. I just don't know why USPS won't update their information online, or worse, update, then take it away. Makes no sense at all.

The last 3 packages that I have received have been put in a "Package Mail Box" and a note from the carrier was put in my mail stating, "You have a package in the top mail bin". The procedure was that the carrier puts a key in my mail so that I can retrieve my package from a locked box, and not have to leave my package in an unlocked box so that anyone can steal it.

The package I got yesterday was half ripped open and I have pictures that I would like to share, but cannot get the Post Master to return my call. I called the Post Master the morning of February 6, 2012 and he was to call me back that day. As of this time, he has not returned my phone call.

This is not the first time he does the same. I hope you will ensure that this postman takes his duties more seriously in future deliveries.

Postal workers are taking the easy way out, instead of keeping a package because of "insufficient address", they are immediately returning it to sender. It is absolutely ridiculous to return a package in less than 24 hours of the first attempt to deliver. I had a package being sent from California to the Niles, Ohio office. The package had the name of the company printed on it, as well as the correct address and since it was in the mall, the carrier never even attempted to deliver it. She just took it back and returned it to the sender. The first attempt happened on February 6, 2012 at 2:33PM and by 10:00AM on February 7, the package was sent back.

When I called at 10:00AM, a post master or manager from the Niles post office named Rita ** was extremely rude. She slammed the phone down while I was talking, huffed and puffed when I was telling her of a similar situation with another post office, thinking it would help her not make the same mistake the other office did and she cut me off saying "I don't care what that other post office did". Her tone and verbiage was unprofessional and careless and she showed no interest in helping. I had to call all the way down to Cleveland Customer Management office and speak with Tina ** for help and that's not even her district or job. Although she wasn't able to give me substantiated answers (due to Niles office not providing her with any), she did help and was courteous! These post office masters and clerks should be ashamed of the way they treat customers. It's going to take a lot more than a civil exam to teach them how to build rapport and have excellent customer service skills.

I lost one package that was refused to the country I shipped it to. I sent a typewritten letter, asking for them to cover the lost package as it was after 180 days. They sent me a form that asked for the same info again which was handwritten, and there's no further response. That was four months ago. I handed a $500 item to my carrier going to Canada. Well, the package never showed up in the system.

Last week, I shipped two items a domestic and an international $300 knife set. The knife set has disappeared. The postal service or mail carrier will not scan your package in unless you buy additional insurance for the items that were paid and printed at home. Right now, I am in the hole of $1200, including postage paid for my items that were stolen. If all other carriers including local delivery guys can scan packages in, it seems reasonable to expect the USPS to track packages until they reach a foreign country. They have no incentive to police their own people or make changes as they received money for no service.

I have also had a carrier refuse to take my package on the street, and the carrier was not punished. I am told that unless a postal employee assaults a person or steals mail, nothing can be done.

I went ahead and insured for $5000 and was charged $56 for insurance only! My husband was furious. This happened to me about six months ago and I couldn't remember why or how. I just researched new rates on computer and it clearly states that I can insure up to $25,000. Registered is automatically insured and the cost should have been $20.50 for $5000 and I should have been able to do it for the $6700! Luckily, my husband got the box since I couldn't insure it for the full value. I was charged $35 + more than I should have been and now I have to go 35 miles all the way back tomorrow and complain and hope they will refund me. This is ridiculous. Why didn't they say, "Just send it registered and you can do up to $25000." How clear could I be of what I need to accomplish? I said it was too high and that I should be able to insure for more and they argued the point.

The next thing I see is this postman, slamming my 22 lb. puppy down to the concrete with his bag full of mail. My puppy is just 5 months old & had surgery a few days prior. It was very lucky not to be physically hurt. The postman says he bit him. My girlfriend & I saw no such thing. Now they say my mail will not be delivered, unless I get rid of them or have my front yard gated. Do I really have to have my front yard gated? I have my dogs confined to the back yard. That is fully gated. Will this one incident keep my mail from being delivered? I now have better control techniques to keep my dogs from bolting out the front door.

I unfortunately used the Attleboro, MA post office on my way home from work a few weeks back. It is located on Rt. 123 and I thought at first "oh what luck", how convenient. However after entering the post office, I realized that I should have just gone to Fedex.

The postal workers are incredibly rude. The workers greeted none of the customers they just said "Next!". The woman in front of the line had a small child with her and apparently she did not walk to the counter fast enough, because after the postal worker (I'll call her Ms. Attitude) said her annoyed "Next", she waited 10 seconds, then scoffed and literally walked away from the counter and retreated to the side office leaving the customer just standing there.

There were 6 other people in line (all of us exchanging nervous looks and smiles) and now, just one postal worker working. After returning from her "break" (5 minutes later), the rude postal worker finally waited on the customer without apologizing or saying anything. Her attitude was awful. The next person in line walked up to the counter and tried to break the obvious tension with a joke, but you guessed it, the rude postal worker did not have a sense of humor and became very agitated. Let's just say his experience was just as awful.

The woman in front of me had a single letter. She was beckoned to the counter and asked nicely to purchase a single stamp. The postal worker responded one stamp, is that it?! OMG! What an attitude. The customer got her stamp and turned to the rest of us in line and mouthed the words "good luck" as she rushed out. What kind of place is this? It's like they intentionally hire people who can't interact with people and have no customer service skills at all. It's like we (the customers) should be so thankful to them for showing up for work - completely ridiculous!

I waited to be called, hoping the pleasant worker would call me, but no, I got, you guessed it, Ms. Attitude. I put the package on the counter; was not greeted, so I said that I needed to mail this with tracking. Immediately, Ms. Attitude got annoyed and tried to send me to the back of the post office to get a Package Tracking Slip - stating "you need to fill it out and then get back in line". I had already filled one out and just pointed to the tracking slip already nicely put on the box.

I asked her what my price options were for the package and immediately again, Ms. Attitude was annoyed. However, not only was she rude, but she also started shaking (it was like she was so furious and just barely able to control herself). God forbid I don't purchase a scale and price all the mailing options the postal service offers before getting there. So, I had seen enough and asked her to choose the cheapest option, paid the bill and left as fast as I could. What an awful experience.

I have lived at this address since 1985. I did, at that time, receive mail from previous tenants. In 1986, my wedding RSVPs where sent to the dead letter office, claiming no such person. The only way I discovered this was one person put their return address on the envelope, and gave me a call. I was told by the post office that they would retrieve my RSVPs, which they never did. I periodically get mail for my neighbors, and also a family on the next block with the same house number, and a similar last name. I always circled the correct address, and put it back in the mail. I had received some of their mail, which looked important, so I hand delivered it to them and asked if they receive any of my mail.

They just said no, and slammed the door in my face. I had bank checks delivered, and was called by my bank, telling me there was a hand written message on the box, stating no such person, no such address. This happened again with my bank statement. I have ordered things through the mail, yet never received many of the items. I have been expecting a packet for DSS, concerning my health insurance, and I am about to lose my benefits. I did give them a call, and it was mailed in December. I have yet to receive it, and they sent another one, which I have not received. I deal with corporate accounts such as Sportsman's Warehouse and Hardware Stores. I have been getting all of my items shipped from the Milwaukee Wisconsin area.

I had a rush order to fill and my items were mailed out priority mail on Jan 24th (9 Boxes Total). 4 Boxes arrived Jan 27th. Today, I received 1 box marked parcel post with an orange ink stamp on the postage, although the box has priority mail stickers and tape all over it. The price reflects priority mail which I paid, not parcel post rates. Upon looking up all 15 of the tracking numbers, none of them "can be found on this website". The USPS.com, which I do all my mailing for my business through. I print all postage online so I am familiar with the website. Not a Newbie. I am still missing 4 boxes and they cannot be accounted for through the tracking numbers that do not work.

I spend on an annual basis about $35,000 in shipping through the USPS. Please rectify this before I take my business elsewhere! Also, they need to let their employees in the 53225 post office that Alaska is not International Shipping! The Anex in Wasilla, Alaska (99654) also needs to update their phone line. I have tried for weeks to call and when you push 1,2,3,4 it goes to a busy signal. I feel this is completely inappropriate for a Government Agency to have such poor customer service!

I was given this number on 12/15/2011, and told they were investigating the matter, and I would hear from someone, or I could call to check the status of the investigation. The items were a new laptop computer, case, mouse, cords, etc. We had purchased for my daughter, who is in the US Air Force, now stationed in Okinawa, Japan. We had to purchase her a replacement computer, so she can communicate with family during her two year deployment. The lost computer was a graduation gift for completing basic training, and Field Medic School in San Antonio (at age 19). I'm proud of her for serving our country, and I find it sad, when I deal with a different branch of our government, The US Postal Service, concerning the missing computer, and deal with a callus and rude individual, as I did this afternoon in the San Antonio office of investigations (Frank). No one has even bothered to return a call, even though I was told on two occasions that someone will call you within 48 hours, beginning in November, 2011.

I sent the following email to a postmaster/friend.

I just got off the phone with the Post Office investigations office in San Antonio, and the number I was given previously when I called for a status on the investigation into Ashley's lost computer. I spoke with a gentleman named Frank. He said the matter isn't being investigated, and their records show that the person lost the tracking number. I told him that the shipper (my son), requested priority mail with tracking, and was told two weeks later (when he went to ask for the tracking number, he wasn't given, and after the package didn't arrive) by the lady at the Groves, Texas post office, that she didn't ship it priority as he had requested, even though she charged him $18.90. He was given a small piece of paper/receipt, but not a priority tracking #). Frank was rude. I asked him if that means that anyone sending through the U. S. Postal service is at risk of having a USPS employee simply take the items being shipped, and they don't even care enough about a complaint to investigate it. He said, “as you stated!”

I'm still amazed at his attitude.

I don't even know how long he has been sending my mail back because I just picked up some mail last week. He has taken it upon himself to send our mail back. I was told by one agency that he has returned 4 pieces of mail to them since September. I pay my rent at this address and I also have a 1 year lease that I just signed in December. I have lived at this residence since 2005. I am totally appalled at the United States Postal service.

I have sent numerous reports about not receiving my mail or it being labelled as address unknown. I have had important mail sent back and received phone calls asking for my correct address.

After a year of this, I finally decided to get a P.O. box so that if there is a problem , it's a service I paid for. Well, they are still returning my mail. I filled out a change of address card and notified varies companies about the new P.O :-) box. This is out of hand. I paid for a year for that P.O. box just so I could have the peace of mind of knowing if my mail carrier can't read addresses correctly at least the post office should be able to figure out where my P.O. box is.

I'm in a constant panic that I'm not going to receive bank statements, insurance cards, etc. I have already sent them an email but I figured Consumer Affairs might be my next step.

I rely on USPS to reimburse customers who send me their goods. While packages I send out seem to arrive OK, envelopes with money orders inside are lost beyond tracing all the time. It's gotten to where I dread dropping a money order into the mail slot because the odds of it not arriving at its destination are so great. Since it costs me $15 (plus postage to send the cancellation request, more postage to mail a new money order, and more money to purchase a new money order), it very often turns out that all my profit is gone from several transactions per month.

It is simply the case that I do not, and cannot, trust the post office to do what it exists to do. While it may come through most of the time, it fails miserably far too often to be acceptable. The sad thing is there is absolutely no alternative to using them. Not everyone wants or is able to accept electronic transfers of funds, and I cannot afford a $12 wire charge every time I need to send a $20 payment. Using my bank's bill pay service is no answer either as they must also rely on the post office to send the payments I tell them to send, and I can only assume the failure rate is the same. Only when those checks are lost in the mail, I must pay a $35 cancellation fee!

I cannot afford to send every money order in a traceable package, and don't feel I should have to when the 45 cents I am now paying to mail it in a regular envelope should be enough to ensure that it at least gets to its destination. Delivery confirmation and signature confirmation don't trace anything; and if the item is lost, there is no recourse. Priority mail doesn't move any faster than regular mail and offers no extra services with it, so it is a misleading "promise" that gives us nothing for a lot more money. Post office employees have admitted this to me. So why would I pay extra for a service that really isn't a service at all?

I lose customers and end up looking like either an idiot or a scammer despite the fact that I work very hard to treat people right and give them an experience that will turn them into repeat customers. Even if they acknowledge that it's probably the post office, not me, that ** up the transaction, it still makes me look bad. There is nowhere I can call to issue a complaint about them as they are too large and too disorganized to care. They have a monopoly (for now) on our non-package mailing services. Registering a complaint here is just useless venting, but I guess it's better than nothing.

I had a tracking on a package shipped to my son vacationing in Florida on 1/7/12, his scuba gear. For some reason, when it arrived ,it was determined to be undeliverable and sent back to Tampa, who then sent it back to Winter Haven and finally arrived at the destination it was originally determined to be undeliverable. In the meantime, my son is back at college and this package is sitting on some shelf doing nobody any good!

I had talked to a representative and was under the impression that it would be sent back to me as my son and I do not want to impose on the parents of his college roommate. Now I find out that it will be 2/5/12 before they send it back. It will be over a month before anybody that has a vested interest in that box will take possession. I am out monies for using USPS and the frustration in dealing with a company that seems so disconnected with their job.

I have contacted the carrier supervisor in Buena Park, CA and was happy to put me on hold and disconnected the phone. I have been trying to reach the post master. I am told she is not in the office three days in a row.

I have filed a complaint with the customer service and never seem to resolve the problem. Today 02/01/2012, they referred me to the supervisor and he only said they will investigate and call me back. This seems the routine of the post office officers. This has cost me a ticket back and forth from California. I had a case in court that I missed its hearing on the 23rd of January. It has cost me money and time, save for the energy spent on phone with helpless employees. I now have two different case numbers.

I shipped a package to my Mother of photos of my children. She lives 11 hrs away and does not get to see her grandchildren but once a year. I packaged up 2 nice frames (the expensive matted ones) with some professional pictures done for her. They were each individually wrapped in bubble wrap (lots of it) and then packed in a box small enough they would not bounce around and then the box was stuffed with shredded packing all around the frames.

She got the package 4 days later and it has a big dent/tear in one corner. 2 of the frames were broken, not the glass but the actual frames so it had apparently been dropped (and hard at that). Now she has 1 frame that she cannot go out and buy matches for because they were specially ordered. It apparently does no good to write fragile, do not drop, breakable glass all over the box! Makes me wonder, was it dropped on purpose?

I live in Olathe Co. All of our mail is being sent to Montrose to be sorted. I guess Olathe is one of the post offices that is going to be closed in the future. Anyway, this past summer, I was doing a temporary address change and returned home on the 21st of December. I had put a hold on my mail and when I returned I contacted the post office in Montrose to have them start delivering mail to our home address and let them know not to forward our mail. Well, everything went well for a couple of weeks. Then I received a package on the 17th of January 2012 from the post office in PA. That's where we were working for the summer. The package contains some mail that the Montrose post office was still forwarding to them.

So I contacted the Montrose post office by phone and talked to Terry to let them know that someone was still forwarding our mail. He was quite rude to me and told me that the proper paperwork was not completed and until the proper paperwork was done, it would continue to be forwarded. He also told me I could go to the Olathe post office to file the paperwork. The Montrose post office is 16 miles from my house and the Olathe post office is 5 miles from my house. So I jumped in my truck, went to Olathe and talked to the manager, Bob, and explained to him our situation and he helped me file the paperwork. But also, he tells me that if we are going to be leaving for seasonal work, we should find a friend or neighbor to pick up our mail for us because these are the things that tend to happen. I could not believe he said that.

Well, it is January 24th, and still there is no mail. I contacted the Montrose post office and again talked to Terry. Again he tells me our mail is still being forwarded to PA. I proceeded to tell him what transpired the week before, so he looks a little deeper and said he found the paper and would talk to the carriers. He is not a very polite man. He acted like he had better things to do and couldn't care less. So, as of January 27, 2012 we are still not receiving mail. The postal carrier continues to pass by. I proceeded to the Olathe post office again. But this time I got to talk to Pam. She contacted the Montrose post office to see if maybe they just had a hold on it. Well, they proceeded to tell her we never filed the proper paperwork. She stopped them dead in their track and told them she had personally forwarded it to them last week. She went out of her way for me to get this squared away. At least we are hoping for a positive outcome.

Well, after all the trouble I have had I figured I will call the Montrose office first thing in the morning on the 30th. This time, I talked to a gentleman named Nick. When he looked things up, I received the same answer that the forward was not to be pulled until the 31st. So, here I go again explaining what had transpired in the last month. Then he informs me that they don't do the changes in their office, it has to be sent to Denver. Why couldn't anyone tell me that to begin with? I could have just put a hold on my mail and picked it up in person. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. So here I am again, starting to understand how people go postal, ha ha. Not knowing what to do, I called the Olathe post office, talked to Pam and told her what they told me. She in returned was going to relay the situation to Bob and have Bob contact the Montrose office and then contact me. Within one hour, Bob did contact me and assured me the forwards would be stopped today and tomorrow. Again he advised me I should find someone to pick up my mail and forward it to wherever we might be, because things like this are going to happen.

But on a positive note I would like to thank the post master at the Bobtown PA, 15315 for being so helpful through this. If she wouldn't have sent the package of mail telling us the mail was still being forwarded, I would have never known. She also sent us some more mail that made it here last week.

During all of this, my husband's unemployment paperwork kept getting sent back to the state and we have still not received it and have not been able to file any of his claim which has created a burden on us. I can't even explain what a nightmare this is causing trying to deal with his unemployment, another government agency that isn't very easy to deal with even when things go right, let alone with these kinds of problems. Who knows how long it is going to affect us or how many past due notice and penalties we will receive because of their incompetency. I hope you take the time to look into this matter.

I guess the moral of the story is, the people with the jobs and benefits most of us would die to have are going to ** up your mail, but if you get your neighbor to do, it you should be okay. Thank you.

I was told that I should get a response within 48 hours. I called 3 days later to be told USPS called me (lie) and told me (lie) to call my local office. I asked the rep, why would I call my local office when the package made it to the destination state? That's what you need to do, so I requested to speak to a supervisor who said the same thing. My local office line was constantly busy or you would get voicemail. Today, I was able to get through (1/30). The rep told me to call 800-ASK-USPS because they do not handle out of state packages. I told him that's what I told 800-ASK-USPS, but they told me to call my local office.

He apologized and said there was nothing he could do, that 800-ASK-USPS is supposed to help you. So I called 800-ASK-USPS, who in turn said "yes, the 1st rep should have forwarded this in CA and not have me call FL (local office). But that I would have to wait 2 business days for a response". So I asked to speak to a supervisor who in turn told me "actually, unless this was insured, there's no way to track it!". I advised her that I had a tracking number for the specific reason of tracking. She said, "It doesn't matter, your item is lost" without a hint of remorse. I asked her for the Bell Gardens sort facility number, which she said she didn't have.

After questioning if this was in fact customer service, she replied that she wasn't psychic. She finally gave me number 562-776-5294, who then referred me to 323-586-1250. This package was shipped out of Bonaire, GA on November 29, 2011. On December 3, 2011, USPS.com tracking system tracked the package to France. In 2006, with construction complete, the homeowners' association met and provided several choices for home mail boxes. Each home anxiously selected their preference and waited for confirmation from the US Postal Service to proceed with their purchase and installation.

The manager of the local USPS branch unexpectedly notified the board that the USPS would not agree to deliver our mail to our homes, they would insist on continuing the club house delivery. Many of us wrote to the local manager, the Post Master General and I even wrote to Senator Claire McCaskill. They all replied that the local branch manager had made the decision and he would be the one to change it. Subsequently he was quoted as saying that it would be a cold day in 'heck' before he would allow mail to be delivered here.

I have had a real problem with this as this decision was truly capricious and arbitrary. These are all single family homes in an upper middle class subdivision. How is it the USPS can discriminate against us when our tax dollars support the enterprise just like other single family homeowners? The clubhouse mail boxes are very tiny and are easily flooded with the junk mail sent to me because the US postal service sells my address to the senders.

The USPS is a monopoly. It is also a public utility. Thus, it must be held accountable for equal treatment of all customers. This bloated bureaucracy wants the taxpayers to prop up its debts and pensions while it arbitrarily gets to decide who it will and will not serve. The final straw was reached with me today as I am expecting a check via certified mail. I have not received it but have been anxiously checking my Lilliputian mailbox each day. Today, Saturday January 28, 2012, I have been home all day with the door ajar waiting for the delivery. At 526 pm, I left my house for the first time to go check the mailbox. Sure enough, USPS left and orange slip in my box telling me to go to the post office to pick up a certified letter.

If the sender had sent the check via FedEx or UPS, I would have it now because they deliver to my home. Instead, I must go to the post office and retrieve it on Monday. A public utility monopoly should not be allowed to conduct taxpayer business in this manner. This branch manager will not even allow disabled persons delivery in this subdivision. Could the government run a more disgustingly incompetent and discriminating operation? Why does the USPS get to make its own rules?

I sent the Boro of Morris Plains 07950, 2 checks to pay for municipal taxes for first 2 quarters both for their appropriate quarter of year 2012. I sent in 2 separate envelopes on date of January 8th of 2012. Checks dated Jan.9th 2012 withdrawn from my mother's account. The Morris Plains post office lost or misplaced the envelopes since that time, my mother has passed away. The bank has frozen her accounts resulted an insufficient fund notice. Fees could incur from & MP Boro. I would like a letter from post office stating their total liability in this matter.

If I knew that Carolyn (USPS cashier name tag) was going to ruin my day, I would have gone to the post office at the end of the day. So here I am, I feel like crap so early in the morning, I think I will feel better if I submit a complaint. So the story goes like this. On 01/28/12, I went to the main post office on I-30 in Dallas, TX to send two packages of things I sold on eBay.

Carolyn called me up and the instant I arrived she presented an unprofessional attitude as if she had no interest in my business and gave me an agitated look and spoke to me as if I got on her last nerve. So I mentioned that this was my first time there for months in case she thought I was someone who had given her a hard time recently. I spoke to her in a nice way but I still felt uncomfortable and she showed no ease and I don't think I want this to happen to any one else. I'm also recommending my friends and family to go to a further post office to ship our things because I don't want them to encounter this kind of customer service.

On January 28th, my son had an appointment with the Post Office located at 2211 S. Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Hills, MI. 48301 for a passport renewal at 10:30 am. When he arrived, they told him that his appointment was on the 27th. Fortunately, I was in the car waiting for him and when he relayed that info to me, I immediately went into the Post Office with him.

You see, I had made the appointment myself knowing that my son works during the week so I had to find a post office that had Saturday appointments. They were insisting that "they make no mistakes". I requested to talk to a supervisor and Ann ** came to the desk and told me there was nothing they could do about it and said, "We are booked and have another appointment at 10:30. "

It was 10:40 am and it was evident that the 10:30 appointment didn't show up. There we were trying to convince her to process the documents and she insisted that we had to leave, she said, "I will not have anyone loitering in MY facility". Your employees are enraged they have to work at all and they show it to each customer. Most of us are happy to have a job at all today, but these employees are apparently disgruntled!

I live in a condo complex where my receive letters and magazines in a locked "letter mailbox". This mailbox is big enough for about 6 stacked magazines. If I get a package larger than this box, the mail carrier can put it in a larger box - "package mailbox" (about the size of two stacked sweater boxes) and leave a key in the "letter mailbox" for me to unlock the "package mailbox".

I expected a delivery of a pair of shoes last week. This package could have easily fit in the "package mailbox". My mail carrier claims that it would not fit and she put the package on my front step instead. Half a week later and I never saw the package. What recourse do I have when the mail carrier did not use the standard procedure of using the secured "package mailbox". I spoke to the mail carrier and she claimed the package was "taken" from front door. Also, I spoke to supervisor and he claimed that tracking info states it was delivered. But delivered to whose house?

This is a repeated incident with the West Bloomfield, MI post office of delivering my home mails (bills, statements, tax documents, etc. ) to wrong resident and where in cases I have never received them. I have received open envelopes delivered to my home. In another incident, I have paid for my Post Office box dues inside the post office and it wasn't logged eight day following the due date where the Post Office restricted me access to my mail claiming the dues weren't paid. I have brought this to the local and regional managers but nothing has improved.

A package was mailed to me from Florida on Dec. 29, 2011. I have contacted tracking twice, and have 2 different case numbers. I did receive 2 phone calls from a supervisor at the Las Vegas post office, but she didn't have any more information than was on the tracking site. The package has only been tracked as far was Warrendale, PA, and that was on Jan. 15, 2012. No one can give me any information, as to the current location of the package. I keep getting told to "wait another 7 days" or "don't worry, it will get there". That is not acceptable. I was given a phone number of Consumer Affairs here in Nevada, and cannot even get someone to answer the phone, let alone get any information. I would most appreciate a call, letting me know where my package is, and when it will get here.

I simply wanted the post office to hold my mail, which according to the form, would and could last 30 days if needed. I completed the form as required. I signed the form as required. I provided ID as required. When I went to pick-up my mail the carrier took it upon himself to return my mail back to the sender. I complained to the supervisor Jennie ** whom stated that the house was vacant and would keep sending the mail back. The home is not vacant, which I explained and was courteous when I responded. This resulted in me not getting two large sum checks that I desperately needed. The checks keep going back and forth and I can not pick the money I so rightfully entitled to pick up and receive. I also complained to her supervisor Mario ** whom has not returned my phone calls. It has been a month now and I have not received the checks thanks to these supervisors and the carrier taking it upon themselves for me not to receive my mail by obstructing the delivery. This has caused me great financial harm and has turned into a personal discrimination rather than doing the job responsibility.

The post office is telling me they can't do anything about a missing package that has a tracking number, and they know where it was last at. They think I should just buy another product, and get over it, because it doesn't matter. Obviously, someone from the post office took my package, and they should return it, or be fired. I pay my hard earned money for something, and we trust the post office to send it, not to mention pay them to send it, not steal it, and tell the paying customer "oh well, sorry".

Today, January 27, 2012 at 9:30 am, I went to the Cohasset post office to mail a package. The window is supposed to be opened at 9:30 and it was not, so I rapped gently on the door. An angry and obviously agitated female postal employee abruptly opened the window, glared at me and in an agitated voice stated, "I was on the phone with a customer and that is why I am one minute late."

I explained I was not trying to be rude and she continued to speak to me rudely and with obvious agitation in her demeanor. She then told me I could only send a package that weighed 13 ounces. I asked why and she would not answer me. This woman should not be working with the public in my judgement. I work with the public and if I treated my clients the way she treated me, I would be fired on the spot.

In September of 2011, I submitted a temporary mail forwarding order to a commercial mail center PO box. In the last five months, mail is occasionally delivered to the house. When I stopped the carriers (we have 3,they all say "All of it?" and I say Yes, that is what a forwarding order is for). Over the holidays, several packages (from friends and family) and every piece of international mail was returned to sender.

There was no explanation as to why the USPS could not forward as ordered to the new address within the same post code. We have family in Europe. I cannot believe the mail was marked "Undeliverable" and sent all the way back instead of one mile away to the requested forwarding address. Can someone please explain what is going on with the USPS?
