I am just sick and tired of my letters and packages not making it to there destination 75% of the time when I use USPS. And they wonder why they are losing business. I took a letter with a money order in it to the post office, walked it in the building and put it in the mail slot on the wall inside the post office on January 23rd. Here it is February the 1st and my money order is nowhere to be found. I will never ever use USPS for anything ever again in life. I've sent packages with clear tape on the package and it arrives to it's destination with blue tape and half of its contents missing. Something has to be done, but I'm quite sure that nothing will be. USPS sucks! UPS is the way to go!

Same problem as many people here, my Mail Carrier, which is unable to deliver mail with 100% correct address to my home. Instead, they deliver it one block away. Luckily, the person who receives my mail is honest, is only 1 block away, and has been dropping it off at my home once a week. Question, if the USPS can not deliver properly addressed 1st class mail (zip+4), why do they exist? Is it time to transfer the USPS duties to FedEx.

Every time I go to get my mail from my post office box in Los Angeles, California zip code 90060, I noticed certain letters are opened. For example, my mail from the Unemployment Office, letters from the DPSS, my child support letters and mail from family members who celebrate Christmas. I do believe in Jesus Christ and letters that I have even mailed to myself. Also letters from the following offices listed above have been delivered to me late.

So I spoke to the supervisor (Elanie **, that's what I was told her name is), she proceeded to tell me that these government agencies put the wrong barcode on the mail sent to me. Really?! She also mentioned that if they had the same barcode that is in the post office area that she would not authorize "her" employees to open my mail. Isn't this an invasion of privacy, a violation of my "American Rights"? I was born in this country. My parents are (and I am proud to say) veterans from the Vietnam War. I wrote a poem defending President Obama and Vice-President Biden in a poetry chat book and some of my friends have ordered the book from but their money order was returned to them opened!

I was told it takes up to 3 weeks for my mailbox key 2 be ready. It's been past 3 weeks, so I put a hold on my mail, and I went 2 go pick my mail up, and the lady says we don't have any mail for you, so I asked her how much longer it will be, and she replied, "that's what I'm trying to figure out", and I feel as though if a costumer has been waiting for their key for a long time, then you should have a better answer than "that's what I'm trying to figure out". Then when I went the other day, the lady said they have 5 pages of mailbox key to be made, so somebody is not doing their job. All I want is my mailbox key, because I have important documents that I need.

You guys think you are in a bad situation?! I have mailed 8 packages on January 21, 2012. None of them have been delivered. They all say "accepted" and even "processed" in my city, but that's it. I have called every USPS number possible, and went down to the post office where I mailed them. They provided no help. The items i shipped were things I sold on eBay, and are worth hundreds of dollars. My previously 100% eBay feedback is going down the drain. This is pure theft! If anyone can help me with any sort of information, I will definitely compensate you well. Email me at **. Attached are my tracking numbers. The last package was sent on international priority mail.

I was mailed a package from India in December, and received no notice of it. When I went to my local post office, I was initially told that someone in my building signed for it on 12/22. This puzzled me, since no one was at home. I rechecked, and indeed, no one had been home. I went back to the post office, and the story was now different. I was told that my package had not been delivered, and that it was instead being sent back to India, and that it was in New York at the moment.

The post office representative gave me this number to call: **. I tried calling, but the number was disconnected. I spent several hours searching for numbers, randomly dialing numbers similar to the one given. I was eventually led to **, then to **. At each of these numbers, I let the phone ring until it hung up, then tried again. Needless to say, the only thing more frustrating than having a complaint or question, is not even being able to talk to someone about that question. If someone is actually reading this, I could use some help, on how to voice out my complaint.

Has tried to get an elderly widow on her route to sign over his assets to her. She is a Psychopath and Sociopath with serious Maladaptive Behavior Issues, makes veiled threats. "My son is a sniper" follows me and my family.

When I moved, she has a master postal key to my new home and opened my mail box placing evil & bizarre notes and messages. I complained to the OIG, USPS and all they want to do is nothing since she is a career employee and they covered it up. I asked for a criminal under oath investigation and they declined. So the USPS is allowing fraud, postage theft, mail theft, terrorist threats over the wires and conspiring to commit witness intimidation. I will never do business with the post office again. I will gladly pay extra after this experience to obtain more acceptable results from a real package delivery system. I hope they just shut the whole postal system right down. Good for nothing! I could have walked back and forth from sender to destination 4 times and counting, literally! I just hope it wasn't stolen like some 2 out of 100 packages are by this disorganized and ineffective service. By far, this is the slowest service I have ever seen, and the tracking is an absolute joke. I will never give the postal service another dime as long as I live! Maybe if enough people email FedEx about a letter service, they will do it!

On Jan. 12, I put in a complaint with 800-ASK-USPS because the package (one book Water for Elephants: A Novel [Paperback] by Gruen, Sara) never arrived. I was told that I should get a response within 48 hours. I called 3 days later to be told USPS called me (lie) and told me (lie) to call my local office. I asked the rep, why would I call my local office when the package made it to the destination state? That's what you need to do, so I requested to speak to a supervisor who said the same thing. My local office line was constantly busy or you would get voicemail. Today, I was able to get through (1/30). The rep told me to call 800-ASK-USPS because they do not handle out of state packages. I told him that's what I told 800-ASK-USPS, but they told me to call my local office.

He apologized and said there was nothing he could do, that 800-ASK-USPS is supposed to help you. So I called 800-ASK-USPS, who in turn said "yes, the 1st rep should have forwarded this in CA and not have me call FL (local office). But that I would have to wait 2 business days for a response". So I asked to speak to a supervisor who in turn told me "actually, unless this was insured, there's no way to track it!". I advised her that I had a tracking number for the specific reason of tracking. She said, "It doesn't matter, your item is lost" without a hint of remorse. I asked her for the Bell Gardens sort facility number, which she said she didn't have.

After questioning if this was in fact customer service, she replied that she wasn't psychic. She finally gave me number 562-776-5294, who then referred me to 323-586-1250. The rep there seemed like she understood my dilemma, but all she could do was send me a mail search form which according to her I should have received when I first called on 1/12. USPS is a joke.

I have filed several complaints with our area post office about the delivery of our business mail. As a small independent bakery, we depend on payments received by USPS for our daily deposits. Most often, the mail is delivered Monday through Friday well after the 2PM bank deposit cut off. For the past several weeks, we have not received any Saturday delivery at all. Each time we have complained, the post office tells us they are aware of the problem, that it is being addressed but nothing improves. My roommate, who is a USPS mail carrier, suggested sending a complaint to you so here it is. I need better service!

I mailed my sister's special birthday package (ahead of schedule so that it would get there on time!). I mailed it in a Priority Mail box, with a priority label and added Delivery Confirmation, to be sure of it getting there. It never arrived. I went to the Newtonville Post Office and was assisted by Joyce, who is really helpful and nice. I filled out a Mail Recovery Form, which was sent to Atlanta center as the tracking showed (twice) that it was processed through there. I keep checking in and also called and spoke to Jean at the Boston Office of the Consumer Affairs who was very nice but said that I will only hear from them if they find it.

My question is this, if they can track it, why can't they track me or notify me? It seems to be quite ridiculous that this is the case. It has now been missing since Nov. 5, 2011. The tracking # is 0311 0820 0000 9412 8740. This does not bode well for the USPS that customers purchase extra tracking which is ineffective. I have very little faith in the effort that is being made to correct this. I would appreciate assistance because I do believe that someone can help.

I signed the notice and left it by my mail box, authorizing the postal worker to redeliver, and leave the package at my apartment building. The notice was taken but the package was never redelivered. When I called the post office, another postal worker informed me that the package was there. I informed her that I would not be able to pick it up until January 28th.

She said she would put a note on it, stating that I would pick it up on January 28th, and the package would be there. When I went to pick it up on January 28th, I was informed that the package was no longer there. No one seemed to know what happened to it. The worker I previously spoke with, stated that she did not remember talking to me. She also stated that the package was probably sent back to the sender, which is not the case, as I spoke with the sender, and he did not receive the package back.

My letter to Inspector General of U.S. Postal Service:

On November 29, 2011, I sent a package "CP769863150US" from the post office in Bonaire, GA 31005 to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Every day, I was tracking the package online and one day, I noticed that the given information was not changing. The tracking results have been the same since December 03, 2011 at 7:34 am.

On January 4, 2012, I went to the post office in Bonaire, GA and the supervisor told me that she sees the same information I received in tracking system and instructed me to call "1-800- 222-1811" for the United State Postal Service to give me specific information on international packages. I called and the associate who I spoke with said that the package has been in Madrid, Spain since Dec 3, 2011. However, the online tracking system indicated that it was in France on Dec 3rd. Since she indicated that the package was in Madrid, I continued to wait for the delivery to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain.

On Jan 14, 2012, my family had not received the package, I called the 1-800- number again and they told me that they were experiencing technical difficulties and to please call back on a later date. On Jan 17, 2012, I called back to 1-800- 222-1811 and the associate I spoke with told me that he could not find any information on my package in the tracking system.

This package was shipped out of Bonaire, GA on November 29, 2011. On December 3, 2011, USPS.com tracking system tracked the package to France. On January 4, 2012, a USPS associate confirmed the tracking of the package indicating that it was in Madrid, Spain as of December 3, 2011. Then on, January 17, 2012 a USPS associate indicated that Tracking Number CP769863150US does not exist in the system.

My family has been expecting the delivery of the package since December and it has not yet arrived, so my grandkids did not get their Christmas gifts. Please, I would like to know what to do now. If you could be so kind and give me some information on my package and/or refund my money, it will be much appreciated.

When I built my home in this subdivision in 2005, the builder said the subdivision clubhouse was being used temporarily for mail so that mail delivery would not interfere with construction as 3 different builders were constructing homes. In 2006, with construction complete, the homeowners' association met and provided several choices for home mail boxes. Each home anxiously selected their preference and waited for confirmation from the US Postal Service to proceed with their purchase and installation.

The manager of the local USPS branch unexpectedly notified the board that the USPS would not agree to deliver our mail to our homes, they would insist on continuing the club house delivery. Many of us wrote to the local manager, the Post Master General and I even wrote to Senator Claire McCaskill. They all replied that the local branch manager had made the decision and he would be the one to change it. Subsequently he was quoted as saying that it would be a cold day in 'heck' before he would allow mail to be delivered here.

I have had a real problem with this as this decision was truly capricious and arbitrary. These are all single family homes in an upper middle class subdivision. How is it the USPS can discriminate against us when our tax dollars support the enterprise just like other single family homeowners? The clubhouse mail boxes are very tiny and are easily flooded with the junk mail sent to me because the US postal service sells my address to the senders.

The USPS is a monopoly. It is also a public utility. Thus, it must be held accountable for equal treatment of all customers. This bloated bureaucracy wants the taxpayers to prop up its debts and pensions while it arbitrarily gets to decide who it will and will not serve. The final straw was reached with me today as I am expecting a check via certified mail. I have not received it but have been anxiously checking my Lilliputian mailbox each day. Today, Saturday January 28, 2012, I have been home all day with the door ajar waiting for the delivery. At 526 pm, I left my house for the first time to go check the mailbox. Sure enough, USPS left and orange slip in my box telling me to go to the post office to pick up a certified letter.

If the sender had sent the check via FedEx or UPS, I would have it now because they deliver to my home. Instead, I must go to the post office and retrieve it on Monday. A public utility monopoly should not be allowed to conduct taxpayer business in this manner. This branch manager will not even allow disabled persons delivery in this subdivision. Could the government run a more disgustingly incompetent and discriminating operation? Why does the USPS get to make its own rules?

I cannot believe the mail was marked "Undeliverable" and sent all the way back instead of one mile away to the requested forwarding address. Can someone please explain what is going on with the USPS?

I bought a text book offline on January 14th and another on January 17th. When I received the one I purchased on the 17th first I went to look at the tracking number for the purchase on the 14th. It said "departed USPS sort facility on Jan. 16 2012; eta: Jan. 18th.” Today is now the 26th and still no book! I have made many phone calls to my post office as well as paid them a visit on the 23rd. Where they told me since it was media mail (the cheapest way to send mail) that there is no telling when I will receive it and that it gets processed last. I pointed out that the tracking information stated it had departed the sort facility and they told me it was probably wrong and still there.

I spoke to my post master who could have cared less because in her quote “I can’t do anything till it comes into my facility." When I asked for a supervisor’s number or someone higher than her so I can find my package, she refused and told me she would email him my number and they will contact me! That was on the 23rd and still no one has called. Called customer service last night (25th), made a complaint and got a case number. The lady I spoke to was the first and only person who seems to care and realized I should have my package by now.

Called Consumer Affairs this morning and guy was rude and told me absolutely nothing and was on USPS’ side, not the consumers! No one can tell me where my package is. With this kind of customer service, it is probably why the USPS is going under! I will be using FedEx or UPS from here on out. And that’s what I told the guy from Consumer Affairs and that’s when he hung up on me!

Why is mail being left unsecured in a garage and not being put in mailboxes for distribution? Ft. Dearborn should be able to send a carrier to a high rise building that has many senior citizens.

Here is what happened, recounted in this email I sent to the shipper: On this rainy Monday I thought I heard a small noise at my door so I went to the window and looked out. I saw a mailman standing there and a minute or two later when I went to the door he was gone. I looked outside for a package and nothing was there. I thought my package would be delivered by UPS like all the other times but I checked my Amazon account and saw that USPS had my item and the delivery status page said Delivered. I called USPS on Tuesday and told them what happened. They said it would be delivered today (Weds.) but it wasn't delivered.

So I called them today to file a claim for reimbursement and the worker who called me back refused to talk to the carrier to see what happened (even though he should remember since it happened just two days ago) and said that with Delivery Confirmation all they had to do was leave it at the door and if someone wanted to walk off with it they could! He has refused to reimburse me also, unless the package was insured. Was the package insured so that the post office will reimburse me? This is stupid and I will try to catch the mailman tomorrow to ask him what the hell he did with my package. I think he kept it because it was rainy, but the guy who called me back earlier said that if they record the item as Delivered it was delivered.

The shipper responded less than 30 minutes later with condolences and the promise of my entire order being replaced at no cost to me, and it is being sent through a better carrier (UPS) with free overnight shipping! I love this company! I hate USPS and FedEx, who did something so outrageous resulting in the loss of all of my family's moving boxes that I had to take them to small claims court when I was in another state. The post office also caused multiple packages to be stolen when I lived in the ghetto one year. You'd think little Miss Chinese lady would know better than to leave packages on the ground outside in some neighborhoods! I'm very dissatisfied with America in general and I swear to God I'll be euphoric when I move the h-e-double hockey sticks out of here this year! I'm going overseas and I will never be back. Of course it's not just because of the terrible package receiving.

I have filed complaints with USPS customer service and called 1-800-ask-usps but both Ann and her supervisor Travis said that they can only send the complaint to the postmaster and since she is the cause I am stuck. She insists that I come daily to pick up my mail or purchase a mailbox at her post office or she will return all my important mail to sender as undeliverable. She admitted that there was bank information that she was sending back.

This month I have already gone there 3 times to pick up mail and each time I only get a part not everything. I ordered a package via USPS. I got confused and sent it to my home address, not my PO box (I have no mailbox due to vandalism). So it was my fault up front for sure. But they claimed they tried to deliver it and couldn't and then shipped it back to sender when I didn't call to claim it at the Finleyville Post Office. But they never left a note/form saying they were trying to deliver it. So how the heck I am supposed to know to call them? They could have easily left it in the doorway, but instead just drove off.

I did track it online and saw that it was sent back. So I called to try to stop it but it was too late. My biggest complaint about all of this is that their process is to hold it for 2 days and then send it back. It clearly shows on the online tracking report that they only held it for 1 day before sending it back. With post office hours not at all in sync with the rest of the working world, how was I supposed to know the package was missing, know to call them and do it all with in a 24-hour period when they close at 4:30 p.m. Even worse, they had my name on the package. I have a PO Box at the Gastonville Post Office, literally 1/4 mile down the same street as the Finleyville Post Office.

The U.S.(as in nationwide! ) postal service has no way of typing in my name into a computer and seeing that I have a post office box (which they own) right down the street from them. I assume that my cell phone number was also on the box since I had to provide it to ship and no one bothered to pick up the phone and call me. The Post Office has lost its focus. It's not to move mail around. It's to deliver mail to people. I asked for the item to be shipped back without me paying and was told that couldn't happen. It was $17 so the cost isn't really the point, it's the total lack of service that they deliver. I also have to say though that the people at the Gastonville Post Office where I have my PO Box couldn't be better or nicer. Their service is incredibly forward thinking even though they are a much smaller operation.

Like Julie of Trumbauersville, I received a notice of payment due for my PO box renewal earlier this month. I was pleasantly surprised that amounts due for 6 and 12 months were the same as last year. Due date is January 31. There was no notice that rates would increase January 22, much less what those rates would be. I mailed a check in the USPS envelope on the 23rd.

Today I received a letter attached to my rejected check stating that rates increased on the 22nd and if I had paid my renewal before that date I could have received the original lower rate, but now I had less than a week to renew at the new rate without consequence. The letter is dated January 1, but I know I never received such a notice before now. The new rates are handwritten on the letter and amount to an 18.75% increase. I agree with Julie that it seems fraudulent to state one rate on a bill and then increase that rate before the due date, especially in light of there being no prior notice and no recourse. Unlike many others I have always liked and supported the USPS, but am now very disappointed. This is very bad business practice.

I couldn't recover any of the plates, they were all broken. I did not complain for that one. Two weeks later, I sent a large flat rate box that cost at that time $14.95 and the clerk told me it will arrive in LA in 4 days, that was on December 27th 2011. I paid $34.70 and I did not ask any question to the clerk because I supposed she put insurance that's what makes it so pricy. Not only she didn't put insurance but she did not even put a tracking number on it.

It is January 25, 2012 today and the package is not there. I called and filed a case and anytime I called to check on the case status, they told me the system is down or someone is going to contact you in 2 business days, no one did and the worse they closed the case without telling me. I filed another case and it is still the same scenario. I put very valuable family items in the package and now they are playing with me. The supervisor I talked to today gave me a consumer complaint number that is not in service (617 654 5704). I will not let this rest even if I have to go to the US attorney general. Pony express could have already arrived, but no, it still sits there. They raised their rates, and they keep raising, and the service gets worse. Now I know why I use email and online billing. It is more reliable than the USPS. I would even pay extra to send through UPS, FedEx, or DHL, than the USPS. Maybe I will receive my registered mail package, or maybe not. Every 6 months, I receive a bill due for PO Box fee. Every year, it increases a couple of dollars yet it is clearly printed on bill. This week, I received my bill due on January 31st. I wrote a check for $23.00 (6 months fee), $46.00 (12 months). I dated my check Jan. 24, 2012. I placed it in the outgoing mail for our town that afternoon at 4PM. I then went to my box where I found a single piece of paper, a notice from the office. The paper said "Notice: PO Box fee due - $29.00 (6 months), $58.00 (12 months). Puzzled, I thought the post office was fining me $6.00 if it was late. But it wasn't late, my bill was delivered to me last week and printed with a label stating $23.00 fee (6 months), $46.00 fee (12 months).

How can my bill change as I'm writing out the previous charge? The postmaster refused to accept my sealed envelope with check when I said it was made out for $23.00. He stated that his computer would show different balance due and he just put these notices out late, it's not his fault and he can't accept my check for $23.00. It is fraudulent because previous pre-printed bill states other amount which can't change overnight. You must wait for the next month due. I refuse to pay an extra $6.00 for paying my $23.00 4 days early! Why don't they start the new charge at the beginning of February? Why should only people with January PO fees suffer and lose $6.00 for 3 days of service? Besides the extreme increase, it's pathetic to pull a stunt like this. I have never encountered such an act. I would like an attorney to explain the legality of being stated different amounts due.

For many years now there is a laminated sheet in the post office with my address on it and instructions to be careful with my mail yet it still gets damaged. I complained as recently as three weeks ago when the fill in mail carrier damaged my TV guide and I was assured (as usual) that the supervisors know of the problem. Today the mail carrier damaged my monthly Japanese food catalog and I called the supervisor again to complain about the mail service.

This supervisor, Angela, took the information and really didn't seem to care. I told her she was welcome to come over or send someone over to pick up the catalog and examine it. She asked for my phone number and said she was going to contact the mail carrier "to see if he did it.” I asked her if she was doubting my honesty on the matter and she said "Yes, I am.” This is **. I've been getting my mail damaged for 27 years now and I have to put up with a supervisor that questions my honesty. I just sent in a complaint through the USPS website like I have for ages. My sister-in-law shipped our professional pictures to us from out of state in a photo mailer envelope that clearly said, "Do not bend." On Saturday, I go to my mailbox to get my pictures, and the mailer is rolled up and shoved into my mailbox. All my pictures are bent. Yesterday (Monday, January 23), I went down to the post office to figure out a resolution. I asked the lady at the counter what the envelope said. She said, "Do not bend". So I picked up the envelope, showed her where it was clearly bent, and she yelled for the man who is apparently my mail carrier. He came out and I asked him the same question. He looked at the envelope and then at me and said "So? I just rolled it." Then he demonstrated how he bent the item. I nicely said it is clearly bent and so are all of my pictures. His response, "What do you want me to do about it? Pay you for them?" I said "Yes, actually."

Unexpectedly, he pulled $115 out of his wallet and handed it to me and proceeded to storm away. I spoke with the woman at the counter after that and told her that I didn't feel right taking his money and asked if there was anything we could do through the postal service. She said no and that he's my postal carrier and should know better, so to take the money. So, I asked her to thank him for making it right and I left. At 9 o'clock this morning, I get a phone call from the post master. Apparently, she's my carrier’s mother and is accusing me of doing something illegal and is demanding that I return the money and file a complaint with her about the damage (which obviously won't do any good because that's his mom) or give her the pictures in the original packaging and write a receipt to him that says he paid me for them. If I do not, she has insinuated that if we don't do one or the other, she will accelerate it to someone above her. She also keeps stating that it is illegal for a postal carrier to pay someone for something they damaged.

These pictures were taken out of state, and the nearest place to get them retaken is over an hour away. Also, the pictures are worth more than $115. I only asked that someone make amends and his solution was to give me that much money for them because he was the one at fault. It would cost far more than $115 to drive to the portrait studio, get the same amount of pictures we had before, and drive home. My husband went to the post office and was irate. He got angry and yelled, but that was all. No resolution was made, and my local post master is convinced that I forced her son into giving me the money for the pictures. I was told by customer service to file a complaint and someone would help me further. Is there really anything she can do regarding this situation or would it be considered someone paying someone for something they damaged? If I do have to return the money, is there anything else I can do?

He paid $12.40 for this, and received a receipt, which he later mailed to me, in the hopes that it would help me locate the package, which still hasn't arrived by the 23rd of January, 2012. I called the post office 800 number, and somehow managed to connect with a live person. Although this is next to impossible, because that option is not offered. I was told by a representative that without a tracking number (and because my father didn't pay for delivery confirmation), there was nothing that could be done.

I requested to speak with a supervisor (Aaron, ID number: QQG0H0), who was very dismissive of my situation, and whose tone left a lot to be desired in terms of politeness. I questioned the policy of charging customers a fee of $12.40, to deliver a gift via the USPS, if it guarantees nothing, and they aren't responsible for delivering the package at any time. I am not complaining about the package being late. I am more upset that it's a month later, and I never received a 'sorry we missed you' delivery attempt slip at my home, leading me to believe that the package has been lost or stolen sometime, before it could reach me.

My father is almost 70 years old, a Vietnam veteran, and deaf in one ear because of it. I feel that the USPS scammed him by charging for a service, that it is not then obligated by any policy or law, of which I am aware to actually provide. So as of this point, I not only have lost the value of the contents of the package. My father has been deceived into paying the USPS for not delivering it. I would appreciate any guidance available to me.

She asked me to email her a picture of what was in the package, which I did (12/31/11). Coach silver with multi-colors in the middle valet key chain. I never got a response back stating she received my email and what I should expect next. Since then, I have left numerous voicemail messages at the phone number I was given (**). She did tell me that because it wasn't insured, I would be at a lost on the key chain, postage fees and since it's an eBay product that was sold (by myself), the customer will leave negative marks on my account.

That will reflect other buyers from buying from me. Then I'm at a lost with the original package and the cost by me of the contents inside, the extra postage to go first class with confirmation, the cost by myself to go around town and to find and buy that exact key chain again. If I can't find it, I would have to issue a credit out of my pocket to my very, very upset customer. So I have a lot on stake and on the line if this package is not found ASAP. I feel like no one seems to care or is even concerned about my situation with your company and is even given me the time of day. I am a valued customer with your company and I'm not being treated that way at all! I don't even think anyone is looking for my idea or even cares. Someone needs to call me ASAP about this matter! FYI: This was shipped on 12/9 with an estimate delivery date of 12/12! The case was opened and no calls to me from your company about this issue was even made!

I'm out almost $60.00 because it says it's still stuck at the Kearny, New Jersey station! I was told by a manager there that the package was manually scanned, which is unusual. The investigator just blamed the victim as to why I didn't get insurance.

So we moved to the ** zip in November of 2011. My husband receives workers comp every 2 weeks, it's mailed out on Wednesday since January of 2010. It is coming from Jersey City and usually is here Friday or Saturday, never, ever later. Well, not until I moved here. The month of November was fine, the month of December--wow, it even came on Friday before Christmas on the 23rd. But it is now January 21 and I still haven't received either checks mailed. I cancelled the first one mailed on January 4 and the insurance company made us wait until the 20th to issue a new one, which isn't here. But the one issued on the 18th--well, neither is that one.

So the postman acts like he did it even though he absolutely has no idea what we are talking about and insist that there is nothing that can be done. But I made a complaint with the first check and the manager called back. But he hasn't called my back yet on this. He said he would look into it. I believed him and certainly thought that I would at least never have the problem again. And when it didn't come yesterday or today, I knew something's wrong. Someone is taking it or keeping it or delivering it to the wrong address over and over again.

To me, this is still tampering with federal mail isn't it? And to top it off, I got no mail today. It's like I am getting some of the things but not everything. I forwarded my address and get so much mail from my previous address. The mailbox is usually almost over full. And now, I get one thing if I am lucky, and the missing mail has this new address so it shouldn't be delayed anyway.

This is horrible and when you try to talk to the mailman, he acts guilty. He doesn't look at you and keeps going. Mind you, he delivers here at 4:50pm everyday anyway so by that time, everything is closed to try and do something about it that day anyway. This is an apartment but each mailbox has its own key and it's gated so no one can just come in and break into the boxes and leave. They would be damaged and you would know if they didn't use a key. The first check hasn't been cashed as of now and has a stop pay on it.

On December 19, 2011, I sent out 3 very large boxes (about $44 each to send plus delivery confirmation) to myself from PR to NY with the few but precious belongings I owned due to my move. I never received it. The 1st box was scanned in PR then the Bronx and was received, no problem. The 2nd box was scanned at PR, the Jacksonville FL's port of call and received broken into with my Zane book collection and a new toaster taken out from it and stuffed with brown paper. The 3rd box was also scanned at FL port of call, but was never received. I called the USPS 800# to get the same *** I see everyone else in here has gotten.

They give you a complaint # and tell you they will call you back in 2 days. I've called 3x because I am yet to get a call back and they just "keep resubmitting my case". Now explain to me how they can't figure out how packages go missing. Each employee has a scanner ID. They know who loads the truck and when they load it. If they don't they should have cameras to see who leaves with the packages. That person obviously makes a quick stop and delivers it to themselves or a friend on the side of the road.

This is grand larceny and USPS has paid criminals and the worse part is I paid for them to steal my valuables from me and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it unless I paid even more $$ for insurance which is probably useless too. So I asked if I can at least get my $$ back for a service that I paid for and never received and they have the nerve to tell me maybe, go fill out a form at my post office and see what happens. USPS is a joke! I am now boycotting and will use facebook and twitter to warn everyone I know and don't know not to use them. Thanks for nothing because I know this in itself is useless.

Last month, I sold a slightly used Nikon Digital camera body on Amazon for just under one thousand dollars. On December 28th, 2011, I shipped it from my local USPS location in Buena Park, California. I selected Parcel Post Service with delivery confirmation. Unfortunately, I didn't buy the optional insurance.

So, according to my tracking information, my thousand dollar package managed to vanish into thin air after leaving the Bell Gardens, CA sorting facility. It was expected to be delivered by the 5th, and now it's going on the 21st.

Upon reading this, I immediately went to my post office to inquire about the lost package and see what I had to do next. I was told that It might be best to wait longer. It had already been over 14 business days..

So I went home and called the general line and filed a missing package claim, and was given this confirmation and told that I would hear back from them within a few days. This didn't happen.

Now I'm at a loss for what to do next. I sold this camera in order to pay for my school supplies, and textbooks for the upcoming semester, and if I can't locate it, I'll have to refund the buyer and take a loss. Even worse, if I refund the buyer and then a few weeks form now the package mysteriously gets delivered to them, I'll probably be out both the money and the camera.

Please, If anyone can help me, I'd be very thankful.

No one called, so I called to repeated the process.

I was told that in the USPS system, it showed that the package was delivered on 12/20 but returned to the post office on 12/27. No one knew where the package was. Only I still didn't have my phone. After a wild goose chase of people telling me they would call me back, I talked to the carrier who said that the relief carrier delivered my package to apartment # 4201. I live in 4301. My friend lives in 4201 and didn't get my package.

I spoke with consumer affairs, who called the manager of that location. He told me if my package got delivered to the wrong place, the relief :carrier would be fired. I spoke with manager today, who said neither carriers knows where my package is and because no signature was required, there's no way of finding it. I am getting very impatient with this location. Car was not completely blocking mailbox and driver could have gotten out easily and placed mail in mailbox that is located on the edge of the curb.

Encounter 2: Letter carrier writes on my mail that a car was blocking my mailbox on a specific date the previous week! That means this letter was not delivered last week. The car in question was my personal auto parked 10 feet from my mailbox. Enough room for any non-idiot to pull along side or even reverse his mail truck a couple feet, so he doesn't have to strain himself from doing his job.

These 2 incidents were about 6 months apart. Not enough to warrant a consistent complaint from the letter carrier about a blocked mailbox. This is what is stated on USPS website: "According to our policy, the city or rural carrier should get out of the vehicle to make delivery if the mailbox is temporarily blocked by a vehicle." However, in the scans, when you check the system, the last update is from December 28th, 2011 when it states that a notice was left at the delivery address which was never found. There is no scan of the package returning to the post office nor leaving and returning to CT. It just disappeared. Since January 3rd I have been looking endlessly for this package. When I now go to both post offices here in PR they say the package could not have been returned because it was never scanned to leave PR back to CT.

After 4 days of not receiving any mail, I became alarmed and called my local post office. I was especially concerned because I was anxiously awaiting some very important mail that should have arrived days earlier. Imagine my surprise when, after being told a couple of different stories (including one where some mystery "family" member had completed paperwork to have my mail forwarded to some mystery address), I learned that my postal carrier had the power to complete a change of address form for me and had determined that no one was living at my house!

She said that I hadn't checked my mail in over a month. I had letters that I received only last week, but that was blamed on a phantom substitute carrier who wasn't aware that I had moved. I hadn't moved! The post office informed me that they have the right, without having to verify truth at all, to determine that I had moved, hold my mail, placed a sticker that reads "Moved--left no forwarding address" on all mail, and return it to the senders.

When I asked, "How can you legally put a lie on a letter and send it back? If I haven't moved, it's a lie! What would this tell creditors about my reliability?" I was told this was to protect senders from identity theft. She rambled on about how people set up mail to go to a vacant house as a scam, blah, blah, blah. I don't care, because you see I didn't move! I didn't change my address! I just want my mail! She accepted no responsibility for what happened and says they are within their rights. No consequences for the post office!

Of course, for me I'm not sure what mail I'm missing, or who I need to contact to tell them that I didn't move without leaving a forwarding address. Among the "missing items" is a check that I desperately needed. No clue where that is. Most importantly, I'm still stunned as to how the mail carrier has the power to complete a change of address form just as if she is me, and how the post office is not in some way liable for posting a blatant, uncorroborated lie on my mail.

By January 18th, 2012, it still had not been delivered. The tracking number only shows that it was accepted and processed at my local post office and nothing else. I went to my local post office, called the USPS 800 number, and called a consumer affairs number that they gave me on January 19th, 2012 to find out what happened to this package.

The post office and consumer affairs said that they would call me that day or on January 20th, 2012. The lady at the post office left early on January 20th and did not call. I had to call the lady at consumer affairs because she did not call me either as promised. No one from the USPS can tell me where the package is even though it has a delivery confirmation number.

They are telling me now that may be six weeks before they can tell me where the package is and they will not compensate or reimburse me in any way even though the delivery confirmation number states that they accepted and processed my package, but now have no idea where it is and don't seem to have much urgency in finding it.

I ship on average about 60 packages a month through the USPS and this is not the first time I have had an issue with delivery problems. On average, I have at least one delivery problem a month with the USPS and a little more than half of those problems cost me money in the form of refunds to the addressee, nonrefundable fees to list and sell, plus the cost of shipping.

So, what do I have to do to get my mail delivered correctly, because I have done the protocol for this and they all say they will fix it but nothing has changed? I am missing important mail that was sent to me that is time censored and it was not delivered. I have called the 1-800-number they gave me. I was presented with a file number but still nothing has improved and I haven't heard from the officials concerning this matter yet. Please advise me on what I should do to correct this situation.

I recently moved from NYC to Ohio. I had had a post office box when I lived in NYC and when I moved on Dec. 23, 2011, I closed the box and filed a change of address form. The form stated that my mail would begin being forwarded on Dec. 23, 2011. I have been waiting for a very important piece of mail (a FBI background check that I need in order to go overseas for my new job).

I called the post office on Dec. 28 and they told me the FBI envelope was there and would be forwarded by 1/6/2012. As of today, I am still waiting for the mail. I have called the post office repeatedly and have been told several times that the woman who takes care of post office boxes is not in and I should call back another day. These people need to realize that they are screwing with my employment. I am already going to be spending a lot of money on shipping costs to overnight the mail to Korea once I get it, which I would not have had to do if they would have forwarded my mail in a timely manner.

As of now, if I do not receive the letter by tomorrow, I will have to make new arrangements with my employer in Korea to postpone my arrival date. That will not look good on my part.

This is just ridiculous. My local post office has an elderly person delivering mail that does not even speak English. My packages/certified/registered mail is never ever delivered, not even a notice. I have complained numerous times to the consumer affair dep’t and no action has been taken. I have spoken to the person delivering mail, which is not worthy of being called a postmaster, and simply ignores me, period. Claiming she doesn’t understand English. Hello, she obviously does or she would not answer me.

I am fed up. This is not a privately own company, it’s the United States Postal Service. All packages get lost, to the point that they just say, “we don't know where it is.” What kind of response is that, no liability, no responsibility whatsoever. I made a final attempt to use the USPS and sent a package. Well low and behold, the package is lost. It has the receipt scan and nothing else, nothing. No one knows where it is or what to do. How difficult is it, seriously, to run a business; public or private wherein the principals are the same. This is just plain theft!

I did not leave the slip on Friday, the 6th. However, on Saturday, January 7, I saw my postman Darryl, and I asked him if he could re-deliver. He said for me to give him the signed slip, and he would. I searched and found the slip, signed, and gave to Darryl for redelivery. He said that he would deliver the package on Monday.

Monday, no package. Tuesday, no package. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; no package. I saw my postman Darryl on Saturday and asked him if he redelivered the package. He told me that he went back to the Post Office, left the slip, and asked the lady for the package; and the package was not there. He said that the package could not be found.

    1. Darryl attempted to deliver the package. So, at one time, he had the package.
    2. I signed the slip and gave to Darryl for re-delivery.

    3. Darryl said that the package was not at the Post Office when he went to pick up for redelivery.

I have a copy of the cancelled check that was sent to the person who sent the package. And they have the receipt for Delivery Confirmation. The package was sent from ** Georgia 30317. I've spoken to Keli **, the sender. And she stated that the package was returned to her. I believe that the package was returned early without the opportunity for redelivery. I sent a package to granddaughter in Los Angeles with many, many holiday gifts since she could not come home for the holidays. Tracking information shows it was accepted at San Leandro post office on December 15, arrived sorted and went out for delivery on December 22. Tracking shows a pink slip was left. Granddaughter looked and looked but never found any pink slip and the post office claims they do not know where package is. The treatment by the Los Angeles post office has been terrible. They also will not return calls from the San Leandro post office supervisor who is trying to help track down the location of the package. This is ridiculous!

As a consequence of the post office apparently losing this large package (over 17" long), I am obviously out all the wonderful contents (filled with lovely gifts

gathered all year long), the postage to send the package, and a $28 bank charge to cancel a check which was included in the box. At this point, I want the package to be found and returned to me so I can deliver package it in person when my granddaughter visits in a couple of months. Otherwise, sadly, if it is not found, I certainly want to be compensated for the fact that the US post office is supposed to safely keep the package if a pink slip is delivered and cannot now claim they have no responsibilities.

If they didn't deliver it, then they must have it. If they have it, they need to find it and return it to sender or be responsible enough to pay for their mishandling of the package. It is absolutely their responsibility to deliver the package or keep it at post office until it is claimed or returned to the original sender, period! My hope is that the original package is found and returned, but if not, it is only right that I be compensated for their mistakes. I would be most grateful for any help you can give me. Thank you. There is the possibility I have a case number already on file, check: CA107419811. Thank you again.

I am getting endless complaints that they never arrive, which requires that I cancel the money orders (which costs $15 each and takes a month to get the refund check in the mail), meanwhile angering my customers. Often, the envelopes are simply never seen again (even some that I paid extra for signature confirmation on just to be sure it got there), sometimes they are returned as "undeliverable" when the address was perfectly correct and went through after re-sending (and repaying for postage), and always any envelopes that must be returned to sender for any reason take weeks to get back to me. In the meantime, I am out postage, had to placate customers and spend yet another $15+ to cancel and purchase a new money order. I actually get serious feelings of anxiety rise every time I place an envelope in the mail slot, never knowing if this is going to be another time where the Post Office screws me over, costs me money and loses me customers.

I always knew that no system is perfect and was sanguine about "stuff" happening sometimes, but now that I have to rely on the Post Office to carry on my business to a greater extent than I ever had to before, I realize that it is a seriously broken and inefficient operation, with terrible, terrible customer service. When I brought this to Beverly Hills Post Office attention, they stated I should have done this online. Is there any logic to this statement?

I flew to the west coast from Christmas eve through January 6. A week earlier, I requested Hold Mail, which I received confirmation from. I noted in my request that if it was too much to redeliver, I'd be happy to pick it up. Later, I found out that a friend who I had asked to check regularly on my cat, said there were several days that I had received mail. I also had told my neighbor that I was leaving, so she could keep an eye out and she saw mail on 2 occassions.

I've had this problem before where USPS totally ignores Hold Mail requests and it pisses me off that I get confirmations.

Additionally, my postal carrier leaves my fence gate wide open and consistently drops rubber bands on my font porch. I have a nice little collection that I might cut (so they can't reuse) and return to the post office with a note saying "you dropped these on my porch, I thought you might want them back". Just wish I knew my mail carrier's name.

Also whenever I get certified mail notices, I always assign them and check "Leave at my address". What do they do? Drop the ** card right back in my box instead of actually doing their job and redelivering. The last time this happened, I taped the card to an 8x11 sheet of white paper and posted it very visibly with an arrow drawn pointing to "redeliver" but still that afternoon, guess what I found in my box? I don't trust USPS anymore.

Since I'm here, I also had to request a refund from Amazon one time because I got a text from them saying an order was ready for pick up. Normally a text says, "Your order has been delivered" and "Left at my address." However it did not say where to pick up. I called Amazon to find that UPS delivered to the local post office for some stupid reason. I went to the local post office and they shrugged, "We don't have anything for you."

After more than a week of "out for delivery" status, I checked tracking info and they still never was able to find my order anywhere (perishable I might add). Amazon couldn't help me locate it either so they gave me a refund.

Once, it took 2 months of complaining, the post office put a mail pick up card in my box, and then told me at the post office that they had no record. They asked me to sign the card. I said no, since signing indicates receipt of the mail. 2 months later, I got a call to pick up my paycheck with no apology. Furthermore, I get packages that belong to neighboring buildings with different addresses. However, their apartment # is 7, like mine. I fear that my neighbors may be getting my mail as well and just not returning it.

I have had several packages go missing, and sometimes they have a monetary value, especially if it is an item that I ordered or that my job ships to me. Finally, I am out of town and I have a mail forward. I have been getting envelope mail, but there are 3 packages that I am waiting for. I tracked the 1st one online and it said "undeliverable" on 1/3/12 to my Los Angeles address.

I called the delivery supervisor at my post office and he said that the carrier notified him and they would forward that package (**). 2 weeks later, I have not received that package at my forwarding address in 02125. However, I did get a different package (**) today, 1/12/12, that was "undeliverable" to 90065 on 1/4/12. The 3rd package that I am waiting for (**) says "delivered" to my Los Angeles address 90065 on 1/6/12. My mail forward is supposed to be until February. Local said to call P.O., where the item was going, and ask for a recall. Said to do immediately as it was probably going to be delivered today 1-12-2012. The phone number was constantly busy.

I called back to 800 USPS. They transferred me to Consumer Affairs. Consumer affairs says I have to go to local PO and get a form 1509. I hung up on her as I am running out of time. I have no doubt that I will not get the package back. I have already refunded the customer as they were unhappy, and didn't want to risk bad feedback.

I've now wasted two entire days at home waiting for a package that says "notice left" without a notice. No one knocked. I didn't go anywhere. USPS has keys to get into the building for the mailboxes. What is the excuse? What is the point of me rescheduling delivery if it never shows up?! Do they just keep leaving it at the post office? What is the deal?!

I received package from my sister in Germany with items missing and items from Poland, Russia and the US she obviously did not send. So someone is missing their gifts and we did not get what was ours. I mailed package on Dec. 8th from Calhoun, Ky to Berlin. It has not arrived as of yet (1/11/2012). I very much regret the trust I put in the USPS since it seems that it is a third-world country outfit. So what do I do now? I would like my shipment tracked even though I did not pay for tracking. I would also like restitution, if it does not surface. The shipment from Berlin to Owensboro, KY: I would like some form of research how and where the USPS allows people to open your packages that we have entrusted them to safely deliver to family far away.

I would like these results to either be e-mailed or via snail mail (let's see if you can deliver) a.s.a.p.

I do a lot of mailing. I have a store and an online business. The post office is constantly losing packages or in some cases the packages take a very long time to get to their destinations. When mailing 1st class mail with packages, I am told the scans that are done are courtesy scans.

Many of the packages I have missing still say they are sitting at my local post office, which is not true. The packages have moved to a sorting facility and then they are lost. Because there are no scans done you will never know where they are being lost or quite possibly stolen. They never get to the buyer and they do not get returned to me, so where are they. All the missing packages I have I must either reship or refund, so as a small business this is really hurting my bottom line.

I call customer service and it is the same every time. They can take my complaint, but that is all they can do. The post office is paid for a service they do not always do. They are forcing people to either send everything express, which there is no guarantee on that either, or use another shipping company. UPS, does not lose packages and they scan a package at every stop it makes.

We always hear how the post office is losing money and must raise the rates, if they did the job correctly that would not be so bad. The problem is they do not do the job well and continue to raise the rates. UPS is becoming a very serious option for me. I need my packages to get to my buyers and if they do not reach the buyer the post office needs to know where that package is.

Rate your choice, zero is not an option. It should be an option, as that is my rating for USPS. I shipped a pair of boots on 12/31, left my local office, no scans after that. They just called me to offer a courtesy call, to tell me exactly what is on my screen in front of me.

In a nutshell, they say, “Too Bad, So Sad.” Nothing they can do. No insurance, as with eBay, insurance is worse that flushing money down the toilet. At least you could take your toilet apart. Not eBay. They defend every buyer like they are their children. Now, I eat the cost of the item, as expected.

Just the tone of his voice when he called to tell me too bad for me, was enough to make me want to crawl through the phone line to rip his face off. If this is what their service has become, no wonder they are going out if business.

I have been making the same complaint for the past year! The postal carrier in my area is too lazy to bring my packages to my front door, knock, and actually deliver the mail. When I first moved into the area, I was horrified to find my packages were being thrown over the fence, instead of actually delivering them to me. After months and months of complaining, the mail carrier has resorted to lying about attempting delivery, and leaving orange notices.

She's not even attempting to deliver my packages, instead of bringing them to my front door, and actually doing her job, she doesn't attempt delivery, and just leaves an orange notice to pick it up. Why should I pay for a services that I am not receiving? Also, the customer service at the Grandview post office is horrible. The latest incident, which was 1/10/12, I spoke with Terry, a supervisor, and he told me that per Dan, the postmaster, that the carrier isn't allowed to deliver the mail to my area. Isn't it allowed to deliver the mail to my area? What does this even mean? Sounds like some blatant discrimination.

I am moving out of the area, actually relocating, but even if I wasn't relocating, I would still move, because having decent postal service is crucial! I would never recommend this branch to anyone! They are horrible! I also have to take off from work, to go and pick up a package that should've been delivered to me!

She said that she knocked and blew the horn, but I assure you that she did not do either of those things. The only response was, "We are unable to keep track of all the generic mail that comes through our offices." We have even been charged late fees from our City Water department even through the woman on the phone said she had heard our area postal service has not been delivering mail in a prompt manner.

Last year, we had two checks to our accountant fall by the way side never to be seen and five checks from customers. Some hacker must have truly gotten even with the postal service and it has crippled them! I have never seen such a collapse of services for such a long period of time--it's mind-boggling! The post office's entire USPS national computer systems at their customer service offices have been down daily now for 2 weeks (maybe longer).

Whenever I called them, the reps told me they could do nothing to help me, including arranging a redelivery of the certified return receipt letter because they could not access anything! I could not even register a complaint because that part of their system was down too. I called them several times thinking no national system would be so hindered for so many days!

Going online repeatedly over many days was useless since online was not working properly either. Tonight I tried online again, and when I finally got through to where I was filling out their long form to redeliver a message appeared that said the letter had been sent back! I did not have a clue as the tracking does not show any change either. Because the computer systems at the main number are still down, I have no way of finding out even from a rep what date they sent it back.

I had to pay extra to ask the delivery person to ask for receipt confirmation and signature. This way, I could see if after it was delivered it was broken, or if it was stolen after delivery by leaving at the door. It's in the hands of the shipper until they are signed for by the receiver. So, I hand my item to a shipper. I pay the shipper to deliver and I have to pay for confirmation and signature required. The response I get is I am out of luck. Really!

I am out of luck because it was lost at your sort facility. I am out of luck because I handed you my children's gift and paid you to take it from me. It never left USPS! I paid almost $15 for this package to get lost. Before I knew the USPS had lost my package, I mailed another flat-rate priority package to my sister-in-law who is mentally ill. It was full of individually wrapped Christmas presents. I mailed it on Monday, December 19, and was told it would take at the most three days to arrive. I mailed it to New Mexico from Denver. The clerk even joked that I could drive it because it was only a ten-hour drive.

Of course, it didn't arrive until the end of the postal holiday, December 27, 2011, so she had nothing to open on Christmas. Another package I mailed to Ft Collins, CO, a mere 45-minute drive from Denver, which hasn't arrived yet either.

The one I am most concerned about is the package mailed to my Grandmother in Texas because if it has been three weeks, then it is obviously lost. It is filled with precious items that I can't duplicate. I'm so sorry I trusted the post office with it. In the future, I will seek out a UPS or Fed Ex store. Every single item I ordered online with one of these carriers arrived early, in perfect condition.

I had to send a money order for payment and left it inside my locked mailbox to be picked up by carrier. A month later, the person that was suppose to receive money order told me he never got it. I had to stop payment which cost $15.00 and reissue the money order. Three months later, I received the envelope back with the money order and a letter from postal service. I don't know what the reason was for returning it but envelope or money order was not damaged.

In November, I had to fill out health insurance renewal papers. Again I put them inside the locked mailbox and left a note for the carrier. Item was picked up but Insurance company never received the paperwork. I had to pay late fees and am currently without medical insurance. I had to make a trip by bus to the Insurance company to resolve this issue.

My mail is being picked up by the letter carrier but it isn't delivered to where it needs to go and it is costing me money. I called the Anaheim Main Post Office and spoke to a supervisor Named Liz. She would not give me her last name. I complained to her and was told there wasn't any way to track what I was saying. She didn't help me. I made this call on 1/4/2012. I want the Postal Service to refund monies I had to pay out because of their poor service.

Again, another unfulfilled package delivery promise by the USPS. I sent my daughter a box of birthday (January 3) gifts on December 27. I sent the package priority mail and paid $38 and some change to ship the box of clothing items. I was assured that the package would arrive to her by the 31st (which I didn't believe) but I felt confident that it would arrive for her birthday (again wrong). It's now been 6 full working days since I mailed the package and she didn't receive it again today. When I was finally able to speak with someone at USPS about the delayed (hopefully) delivery, I was informed that I have no recourse whatsoever as I didn't purchase any of the "extra" services.

My daughter celebrated her birthday without gifts. Not a big deal but I did spend over $200.00 on size 1 clothes and not one but two pairs of snow pants because it gets really cold in upstate NY. I'm hoping the package shows up. In this case, I'd embrace better late than never. Unfortunately, there are no consequences to the USPS other than loss of a customer to an already failing "business". How is it that the post office can routinely breech contracts and get away with it? They took my money and didn't deliver as promised, but I can't do a darned thing about it even though I can prove I sent the package. The situation totally stinks

The box ending in # ** was delivered and received on 12/23/2011. The box ending in # ** is still in limbo somewhere, but not where system shows. They were both to be delivered to **. I sent an email on 12/27/2011 at 9:41 am regarding # ** and received case # **.

I received a call from Bert at Eastover Post Office (**) and was told to give until 29th to see if it would be delivered. Still, nothing happened. On 12/29/2011, I sent a second email at 9:23 am and received case # **. The system showed that # ** was forwarded to Arlington. On 12/30/2011, I was getting ready to go to Leesburg Station post office when I got receipt to take with me. I noticed on 2nd box that she typed in 76018 for zip code instead of 76017. So, I sent a third email at 10:01 to USPS.com Track and Confirm. I gave them both case numbers and asked if wrong zip code could cause a delay of delivery and shouldn't their computer catch error. I was informed that there is a 76018 station in Arlington.

I have been communicating with my daughter through this ordeal also. On 1/3/2012, she went to 3 post offices in Arlington and none had the package. On 1/4/2012, I called a CS rep and talked with Tammy at **. I explained what happened. She did her research and took information from me and gave me another case # ** and also the number to Consumer Affairs in South Carolina. I proceeded to call Bert at 9:30 to let him know that the package still hasn't been received. He was going to wait 1 hour due to time difference and call the Arlington (76018) post office and see what he could find out and get back with me.

I know during Christmas time there will be delays, but it has been 8 days since 12/27/11 and 16 days since I mailed packages. My mom and oldest granddaughter are still waiting on their gifts. On this receipt the bill # **, Clerk # ** at Leesburg Station is who handled this transaction. I just want my family to receive their gifts ASAP. I have all my documentation and receipt available to submit. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved this week.

Whenever I called customer service, they were completely unhelpful; only telling me things I already knew (such as the same tracking updates that appear on the website, of which there were none for this particular package) Every time something like this goes wrong and I call, they open a case for my package, telling me that I will get a call in a couple of business days, which I never do. If I call back to complain, they simply offer to open another case.

They don't take responsibility for losing my package which I paid good money for; it's criminal. I literally paid this despicable service to lose my package. People depend on USPS and the way they treat us is unconscionable.

I complained online to postal website. It has also been several holidays during these months and they were also closed. Every time I call, either the line is busy or no one answers; it just rings! Or, they say I have to speak to Jasmine (who wasn’t there, or at lunch at 10:30 am, or in the back). Someone named George has told me that. Plus, they cannot take messages.

Today is Jan. 4, 2012. I called 1 hour ago. It’s still busy. It’s the same as last week. I got no answer and it’s busy. On Dec. 28th and 29th, my PO Box is closed. I had it since 1990. They have not opened it. My correspondences, bills, and checks have all been lost and misplaced because of this. No one has returned my checks, nor called. Why do they treat paying customers as if they don’t need us? Why doesn’t anyone answer or update and open my box? I have complained twice to an online supervisor at USPS.com. They gave me a wrong number to consumer services and told me to call that number (instead of taking a complaint).

The problem is that the business was closed on Saturday! So does USPS deliver to ghosts now? The scanned signature is from an employee who swears he didn't receive any packages that day since he wasn't working and the business was closed anyway.

That business receives lots of packages everyday so could it be possible that USPS's workers keep the scanned signatures and use it fraudulently? Well, I called customer service to file a complaint and they opened a case and said they were going to get back to me within 48 hours (I also got a case number!). Let's see. After inspecting box #1, several items were missing, more was damaged and overall, I figured it to be around $175. The box was also quite empty, which is interesting because when I packed it, it was completely full. I'm still unsure of the items missing from the box because I didn't think this would happen over the shipping process so I didn't document every item I packed. I've seen boxes arrive somewhat beat up but these boxes look beyond damaged. They literally look like the delivery truck flipped over and all the contents rolled down the highway, got run over a few times by a semi truck and then rolled down the side of a mountain.

The mail delivery service to our area is atrocious. Mail delivered to wrong mailbox, lost mail, if the mail gets delivered at all. The only thing efficient out of the Post Office in Claremore, Oklahoma is stopping mail service. If you submit a stop service it stops but you play heck getting it started again. I will not do business with anyone who delivers utilizing USPS because I will not get my package. If I do, I have to drive the 10 miles to the post office to get it myself. I have had the postman hand me one of their cards stating, "Sorry, you weren't home so we were unable to deliver your package." I have mailed packages to myself, arrived home three weeks later and still no packages.

I didn't get them for nearly 3 months, until I went to the Post Office and they found them in the back. I am removing my mailbox and refusing service from USPS. I will utilize competitors from now on. Better to pay more for guaranteed service. Why am I writing this? My daughter-in-law's father mailed her a package. He didn't know better than to send it using USPS. The postman delivered it alright. We found it in the ditch in the mud right where our neighbor watched him throw it. In my opinion this deliver like all the others that didn't get delivered is an example of USPS fraud! This is why we need to privatize mail delivery. Dissolve what is now the USPS.

Also, I like how they insulate themselves from problems. Try to file a complaint. You get an uncaring voice or you can submit and email. I have written (like many others) to the Postmaster for Claremore without a response. They don't care.

Once again, this local post office says they delivered mail when they did not nor do they return calls made to them to try and problem solve. They lose packages, deliver mail that belongs to other customers, are rude and unprofessional. I have reported this to USPS more than a couple of times (which solved nothing but requested a survey to be taken) only after attempting to receive a call back from the local post office manager/supervisor. They do not return customer calls but did send out a hand delivered "dog" letter which had nothing to do with my concerns over them losing my mail and delivering mail that is not mine.

How convenient. This letter was placed down the mail slot. Usually the mail carriers just leave mail hanging out of the (ample) mail slot and heaven forbid, it's a windy day because then I have to hunt for mail all over the porch/lawn. The letter they sent me was just to hassle me for speaking up. I find the letter retaliative in nature (because I did speak up) as they warned me this was the 2nd and final notice I would receive (never received a 1st one) and that they would hold my mail for 10 days as I was instructed to comply and sign the letter and return it to them.

Of course, I did not sign anything as this stupid letter had absolutely nothing to do with helping me to find the whereabouts of my mail/package they claimed to have delivered. They were hassling me for calling them and expressing my disappointment in the way they fail to handle delivery of mail appropriately and their lack of concern for customers concerns. It's not about the holiday rush as to the whereabouts of the lost mail items, they are careless as a way of being.

One day, I received 13 pieces of mail that were addressed to other customers, received packages with the inside item stolen but wrapped with mail tape & they have claimed to have attempted to leave packages at my door and leaving a notice instead but they never left any attempt to deliver notice as I was there and the carrier did not have a package with them. They are an inferior group of individuals who clearly show they could care less about doing their jobs with a little integrity if nothing else and they sure as dirt don't care about the public they serve.

My complaint is regarding priority mail flat rate envelope service (specifically from Western and North Central, Kansas to Jackson, Michigan).

On Friday 12/9 I sent a priority mail flat rate envelope from the post office in Oberlin, Ks to Jackson, MI. I paid the additional $0.70 for delivery confirmation. Expected delivery was Monday, 12/12. Monday came and went. Tuesday came and went; envelope was not received. Checking online, calling USPS and calling the actual post office it was mailed from would only confirm that the envelope was dispatched to the sort facility in Oberlin on 12/10 at 11:30 am. No scanning after that.

The envelope was finally received in Jackson, MI on Thursday 12/15 (where it was scanned at 4:20 am). I had the same experience with a priority mail flat rate envelope mailed from the post office in Tribune, Ks on Friday, 12/23. Expected delivery was Tuesday, 12/27. Again nothing received on Tuesday or Wednesday, and again the only tracking information available was that the envelope was dispatched to the sort facility in Tribune on Friday, 12/23 at 3:24 pm. No other scanning occurred until it was received in Jackson, MI on Thursday 12/29 at 4:24 am.

The same location that I was sending this correspondence to sent me a letter on Wednesday, 12/22 via first class mail and I received it on Saturday, 12/24. How can it be that first class mail can be received in 2-3 business days but priority mail takes 5 business days?! I would really like to know what route mail takes from Western and North Central, Kansas. It is the only place I experience these types of problems. Something needs to change! Begin hold date was 11/22/2011; end hold mail date was 12/9/2011. I received my mailbox key and cancelled this request on 11/24/2011. I have a confirmation of "cancelled hold mail request" as of 11/25/2011. It's 12/29/2011 and I have received no mail in my mailbox for five (5) weeks. I finally have time to go to the post office and they hand me a stack of mail saying that they followed the "additional instructions", which I cancelled back on 11/24/2011. Really, what good is online services if the post office doesn't know how to follow their own instructions? Cancelled request--deliver the mail already!

I mailed a Christmas card with a handmade article (a fabric banner with the words "Peace on Earth" hand painted on it). I sell these for $25. They can be mailed flat in a 6x9 envelope, but I brought it to my local post office to make sure it could go for a regular 44 cents stamp, and they said yes. The recipient told me that the card arrived within a week, but the envelope was ripped and the contents were missing. I'm told there's nothing I can do since it was not insured or sent certified mail or with delivery tracking or any of those extras.

I paid for overnight shipping of computer CDs, with guaranteed delivery by noon of 12/28. The Package was received on 12/28 at 10:17 AM, at the Chicago facility. At 5PM, the postal office did not know where the package was. I was told to call Consumer Affairs for tracking, in 1-2 business days. I have now lost 1 day of work without CDs. I still don't know unknown when the CDs will arrive.

I ordered a product from eBay. It left California on December 19, 2011. It reached Atlanta on December 21, 2011, and sat there until reaching my local post office on December 28, 2011. I only know this, because of tracking info. Then, when I received the package today, it had been ripped open, with a stamp over it, stating it was damaged, empty contents, or something else (can't remember exactly what it said). There was nothing in the package. I understand that I didn't have insurance on the item, but I can't believe how there was nothing that could be done. This package was in their possession, so who else could have stolen it, than a postal worker. I am just shocked that they can steal from packages, and nothing can be done, unless you have insurance. It was a small cheap item, so I didn't see a reason to ask for insurance on it, but I never thought someone would just rip open a package, then deliver an empty package to someone.

I sent a package priority mail on December 13th from the Pleasantville, NY post office to chapel Hill, NC. It was never received. It had a passport in it. It was somehow misdirected to Seattle and Kent Washington, across the country from North Carolina. Lots of anguish and over $500 to process an expedited passport which we may or may not receive in time for flight on December 30th. If flight is missed, add $1350 to the financial loss!

I mailed out a phone that a buyer won on ebay on Oct 29 2011. It was stuck in the sort facilities in NJ for almost 1.5 months. They said to me when I called numerous times, "We don't know where it is. We have to file a CA lost form." On Dec 2, 2011, they found it and it was en route to be returned to sender. It took two weeks for it to be returned but you guessed it, no phone inside. Someone lost/stole the phone. I then had to file a stolen form through Consumer Affairs of the post office but he said it can take 6 to 8 weeks plus they will not guarantee lost/stolen items. Moral of the story, don't use the post office. Now, I am out 340 bucks!

For the past year, mail delivery to our neighborhood has been atrocious. We routinely receive our neighbor's mail, and they receive our mail. The names and addresses on the envelopes are correct however, our letter carrier delivers mail to the wrong address. We have received mortgage banking envelopes addressed to our neighbor. We received a legal court document addressed to another neighbor. Yesterday, in the mail was an enveloped addressed to me, with personal medical information, which had been opened by someone else, due to the mail being misdelivered. The situation is totally unacceptable. There is no reason or excuse, as to why our letter carriers deliver properly addressed envelopes to the wrong address. They either just don't read the names and addresses, or just don't care where they deliver mail. The problem is wide-spread in the Hyattsville, Maryland, area. Something must be done.
