On 12/20/2011, I mailed two boxes: one box to Keith **, ** CT 06360 and 1 box to Kristin **, ** CT 06360 from the New London Connecticut Post Office. I sent the packages priority mail and was told the packages would be delivered on 12/22/2011. I contacted the Norwich Connecticut Post Office at the end of January 2012 and was told the packages were held for 30 days and if not picked up, they would be returned to me. The person on the phone told me she remembered seeing these packages but they were no longer in the office. The post master must have returned them to me.

I waited two more weeks and again contacted the Norwich Post Office. This time, I was told the packages were not there and I should contact the Annex. I called Valerie at **. She told me the packages would not have been shipped to the Annex. She said she would check on these packages and get back to me. Valerie never called back. I contacted Valeria approximately one week later. Valerie said her supervisor was going to the Norwich Post Office to look for the boxes and she would call me back. Again, Valerie did not call me back.

I called approximately one week later. Valerie told me her supervisor looked for the packages they were not there. She also said she checked with the postal carrier. I said, "So the packages are gone and I am out of luck?" She replied, "Yes." At the beginning of April 2012 my husband was at the Norwich Post Office and asked about the packages, explained again to the postal employee what happened, the postal employee gave my husband the Atlanta Mail Recovery Center address. I called 1-800-275-877. The message said I should contact the Consumer Affairs in my state regarding lost packages.

On April 23, 2012, I am writing this description in hopes of recovering my two lost packages. I became very suspicious when I spoke to the girl at the Norwich Post office the first time because she said she remembered seeing the packages. When I spoke to Valerie at the Annex the first time, I was told the girl at Norwich was a new employee. The two packages were obviously Christmas packages based on the time of mailing. They obviously made it to the Norwich Post Office from New London Post Office and they disappeared from the Norwich Post office.

This happened at the U.S. Post Office, Camilla, GA. A lady that I work with and I wanted to order some flowers from Burgess Seed Co. so we decided just to have them delivered here at our job. We ordered the flowers and put our street address for delivery. We received part of the order, everything fine. The second order came and was delivered to the P.O. They put a postage due card in our P. O. Box saying we owed $8.89 more because it was delivered to the P.O. We had already paid Burgess for P & H. I did not know how it was going to be shipped. But why should I have to pay the P.O. that much more since they did not even try to deliver it. That is a total rip-off from the P. O. They said Burgess should have had to pay for it. It was not Burgess’ fault. They delivered as per my request. All I had to do was go to P. O. and pick up. No trouble on P.O. Then to charge that outlandish fee is crazy.

The Post Office letter carrier charged me a USD3.00 extra charge for a parcel post package sent from 77059 to 75080. The package was 18 x 18 x 12 and weighed 15 pounds. She explained it was a balloon charge. Your website says that a balloon charge applies when the package exceeds 108 inches and weighs less than 20 pounds. Request: I want a refund.

I was returning a package to QVC yesterday. It had a label on it that told me this would be free to ship and then they would charge me $6.99 off my refund. When I gave the clerk the box, I mentioned it to him. This was the first time I remember I didn't have to pay upfront for a return to QVC. So clerk ** from Wyoming Rogers Plaza Post Office in Michigan snaps at me and said, "Are you telling me or asking me?" He said then, "Are you trying to say I don't know what I am doing?" I was really upset. I thought he was not being a good clerk. The other dissatisfaction is the boxes I received apparently free. I didn't know I signed on to something that would cost me for months. It is unfair to trick people.

I mailed a large package on April 17, 2012, at the Irvona, PA post office, insured it, got Priority shipping, with signature confirmation. The package was going to an address in Raleigh, NC 27604 and contained live plants. I was told by the postmaster that it probably would get to its destination on April 19, 2012. As of this evening, the package has not been received in Raleigh and in checking USPS tracking system, the only information re the status is "your item was processed through our Warrendale, PA 15095 facility on April 18, 2012 at 5:16 p.m." I called USPS customer service number but only got a recording telling me the same information that was on their tracking website. At this point, the package is lost and I have no idea where it may be. This is the third incident I have had in trying to get an article/package mailed through the USPS. Assistance is needed in locating this package immediately due to the contents.

I recently ordered a few items of clothing from American Eagle for my children. The clothing was shipped in a bag. When the bag arrived, whoever delivered my mail that day had stuffed the bag into my mailbox very tightly and then stuffed my envelope mail beside it to the point that it was crumpled. This wouldn't be a problem if it were a smaller bag and could actually fit! It was packed in so tight that the bag was ripped by the screws in the top of my mailbox and almost ripped a pair of cargo shorts that I'd rather not have to re-buy!

But that's not where it ended! Because The package was stuffed in my mailbox so tightly that the force that had to be applied to pull it out pulled my whole mailbox away from the post almost completely! I was angry, to say the least! I can't afford to re-buy things, because someone wanted to be careless instead of bringing it up to my house. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

On April 17, 2012, we set up a package to be shipped overnight to LA with guaranteed delivery by 12:00 noon. We paid online ($94.54) and printed out all the shipping information. We sent an employee to the post office for final delivery and were told we had additional fees to pay. We paid the additional $186.26 and thought we were okay. Midday on April 18, 2012, the postman came to our office and told us our package could not be delivered because we had not paid all the fees. We were immediately shocked.

My colleague, Stephanie, who set up the original shipment, went to the post office and was told we had not paid for the $15 insurance we had requested. They then informed her that we should have pointed this out to them. This is extremely unprofessional as it is not our responsibility to point out items on your forms. We had filled out all information correctly but the post office employees had overlooked this to our detriment! We paid the additional $15 and thought we were okay. My colleague, Stephanie, was told to contact **, the manager of the post office on 432 E.14th Street, NY, NY 10009-9998, if she needed anything. All payment was taken care of and our package was sent.

On April 19, 2012, we were constantly checking our tracking information. Everything seemed to be on schedule, but at 12:00 (technically 24 hours after our agreed and paid for time), the package still had not arrived. Stephanie began calling ** and was continually put on hold. Finally, she called back and was told he had gone home for the day. It is shown to have arrived at the distribution facility but now seems to be lost. At the current time, the package is four hours (or 28 hours depending) late, so this problem is ongoing.

This package contained our entire Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. We were sending it to LA to get needed additional sales and press. After missing the deadline on the first day, the USPS made us miss a number of press appointments. After missing the second deadline, the USPS made us lose business. Not only has this mistake caused us to lose $280.80 (+15.00 for insurance!) for shipping, but we have also lost both press and sales. We expect at the minimum a full refund for this shipment. In our business, we ship all over the United States as well as across the world. After this incident, we will no longer trust our valued shipments to the United States Postal Service.

I shipped a priority mail international package on Feb 7th, 2012. The recipient still has not received the package and I have already had to refund the money. I have placed several calls into USPS and made two visits to the post office where I sent the package from Bethesda, MD office. Each time they tell me "we don't track those packages" and brush me off. It has been over two months and the package has not been returned to me (my return address was included) and the post office told me they would refund my shipping cost. The package contained an iPhone 4 worth $300 (which was the declared value on the package).

This is completely unacceptable. I paid for delivery of a package. The USPS is responsible for that package until it's delivered. It also just says "accepted" when I look up the receipt number. To me that means it never left the Bethesda post office. There has to be something that can be done. They need to replace or reimburse me for my lost item. If it's sitting in a center somewhere, why can't someone help me find it? The fact that they refuse to do anything is infuriating. Do I have to file a small claims court case? I would like to avoid that. I just want what's mine, nothing more.

I ordered office supplies online to have delivered to my office. We are in a suite and our office is about 60 yards from the mail boxes with a separate drive to pull your vehicle into. Postal worker will never bring to our door nor leave a slip stating we have a package. I have to physically go to the office to get the package after 2 or 3 days of tracking it down. Terrible attitude in the post office.

Our mail is never put in the correct box. Our neighbors constantly bring our mail to us or return it to sender. We received checks at this address so it is a problem every time someone mails us payment. We currently have checks lost for $700, $500 and $400, all from different customers. I have to walk around the complex and ask if anyone has our mail. We have complained at the post office, left stickers on our box with our company name, etc.

Consequences: I paid an additional $40 yesterday for an ink toner at a local store while the one we purchased online and was shipped to us was floating around the post office that I could not get. I have $1,600 in checks nobody knows where they are. I have to contact three different customers to get new checks, pay their stop payment fee and wait to get new checks mailed again. Ridiculous! Post office in this area is the worst I have ever seen. Somebody needs to make these people aware that they just can't run over people and treat them like it doesn't matter and that they are not special.

I’d like to post a formal complaint against the mail carrier that delivers my mail at ** Buzzards Bay, MA. I have reached a limit of time and effort I can complain about this person to the local Buzzards Bay Postal Service and nothing, absolutely nothing is done about her. The latest incident happened yesterday when an 11x14 hard envelope with specific instructions on the front DO NOT BEND - PHOTOS INCLUDED was folded in half and placed inside my mailbox with the typical mail. Needless to say, the pictures inside were ruined. As my husband immediately took the envelope to the Manager at the post office, Mr. Chuck **, stamped the envelope with Arrived Damaged and informed him to call the sender, Sears portrait in this case, to resolve the problem.

I was appalled with his approach to this matter. Not only I have to waste my time calling the Portrait people, wait for a new packaged to be printed, wait for delivery and take the chances of the same poor judgment of the postal carrier. Another incident was less than a month back. I had an 8x8 package, with the same DO NOT BEND - PHOTOS INCLUDED left on the ground by my mailbox, not in a plastic bag, in a rainy day.

I could go on listing several similar incidents or mention countless times we get our neighbors mails and vice-versa. The bottom line is that this person needs to either obtain the proper training to perform her duties or find another job.

I shipped out a suit jacket in a large shipping bag. A few weeks later, I got the bag sent back to me folded up in an envelope with a nice clean cut down the center and totally empty. There was a note attached to the empty bag saying that the bag was found loose in the mail and these thing happen from the machines, etc. Of course I didn't buy insurance for this item but considering it was clothing I didn't think there was much chance of it getting damaged.

I also didn't know I needed to buy insurance for having my item stolen from my package by an internal USPS employee. The post office basically is saying there is nothing they can do since I didn't buy insurance but I don't understand how they can take zero liability for an item being separated (purposefully from the look of it) from a properly sealed package. Now I'm out a jacket and the $100 I sold it for - it still had a tag attached to it with retail price at $228.

I came home on April 8, 2012 to find no packages in my mailbox despite the tracking information showing that four packages were delivered. Two were shown to be delivered on April 6 and two on April 7. I was informed by four witnesses that my mailbox was left open by the USPS mail carrier. The packages that were shown to be delivered on Friday April 6 were small and would have fit okay in my mailbox. One of the two packages that were shown to be delivered on April 7 was a very large package that contained 6 shirts, two pairs of shoes, and 1 pair of shorts.

This package along with 3 other packages was way too much to be shoved into my small apartment mailbox. My husband and I have already had issues with the delivery of items on Saturdays. One case that happened was when we ordered an expensive hardback textbook that was crammed into our mailbox and the cover was destroyed along with pages in the book. My husband spoke to the postmaster on several occasions and he said that since the package did not say "Do Not Bend", nothing could be done. The book was a thick hardback book that was delivered First Class Mail and a lot of force had to be applied to cram it into such a small mailbox and damage it the way that it was. We let that case drop, but this case cannot be dropped because we have lost around $100.00 due to this situation.

This should not even have happened because my husband and the postmaster made a verbal agreement when the book was damaged that if there were large packages to be delivered to our house, they would hold them if we were not at home. I do not want to file this complaint but my husband has spoken with the postmaster about this situation several times and I have written USPS and have gotten no response. I know this was not my fault and now I am out $100.00 because of this. My husband spoke to the person who delivers our mail on Saturdays and she even said the mailbox popped open. No one is helping me in this matter and I don't know where else to turn. I am not going to let it drop though.

I manage the installation of asphalt preservation treatments for an Asphalt Preservation Company. When treatments are installed, the roads are closed to traffic for a period of 24 hours. If driven on, the treatment is compromised and damaged, and warranty is void. On Tuesday, April 17th, the postmaster of the Washington Utah post office instructed his delivery driver (truck # **) to drive through the cones on the newly sealed wet asphalt surface, causing thousands of dollars in damage on private streets as well as pulling into one of the resident's driveway with wet seal on his tires, damaging their painted driveway. When I called and talked to **, he said he has to deliver the mail daily by federal law.

I don't have a problem with them delivering the mail but they cannot do it by car. The postman in the past always walked to deliver the mail, and the longest walking distance is no more than 100 yards. ** showed blatant disregard for private property and disregard to a company's ability to provide a clean quality job upon which their reputation is based, by telling his driver to just drive through the road closed signs, cones and barricades. I know the delivery of the mail is important and I do not discount that. However, blatant disregard for others and no desire to cooperate with residents and businesses using a federal law which does not state they have to drive to the mailbox as an excuse to damage others' work and property is ridiculous, and I believe the cost to repair their damages is necessary.

I am very angry that I had to wake up early prior to preparing myself for work and take matters into my own hands with the USPS. This is the 2nd time this same incident has occurred and I am pissed. I placed an order on April 5 from an online retailer. It's stated it would arrive in 7-10 business days. First, the package was being handled by UPS before it stated that it had been delivered to USPS and provided a new tracking number. I checked daily on the USPS website, waiting anxiously to receive my package. Friday, April 13th, was the delivery date and everything seemed to be running accordingly. On Friday, April 13th, I rushed home to no package, which was coded on the site as delivered. It was now after 5:00PM and the post office was closed.

I immediately called the 1-800 customer service line, where they, for the 2nd time, provided me with a case number stating someone would contact me in the next business days. I was still not satisfied and decided to take matters into my own hands. I called my local post office and they just provided me with another contact (the beginning of the runaround). Since it was after business hours, she advised me to call the next morning which was today at 7:30AM, before the carriers went out. I took her advice and had done so. I spoke with the manager, who seemed to have rushed me off the phone and told me to call back in 15 minutes. During the process of getting dressed for work, I continued to call multiple times and there was no answer. After calling 8 times, I spoke to a woman, who asked the carrier if he remembered delivering my packaged. He replied "No, he did not do that part of the route and the sub did." She then placed the manager on the phone who I recently spoke to and the best thing he could tell me was to wait and that the sub was on vacation and would not be back until next week.

Again, that is not good enough for me. I advised him, vacation or not, he need to contact that person and get to the bottom of this because this is the 2nd time this has happened. I expressed my frustration and the fact that this was not acceptable. He reiterated that I would have to wait and see if it shows up and after 30, I would be able to put in an inquiry. I want something done about this matter. It only happens when I have a package being delivered though USPS. I am beyond angry about the situation and being dealt with so lightly. The first time it happened, once my package arrived, it had been opened and tampered with.

This post office has had problems all my life. In the past, there were post office workers that were lazy, loud, and rude. As far as I know they were replaced because I don't see them in the front any longer. Another issue is the package delivery needs to be corrected. They can't even make up their mind up on what time of the day they want to deliver my packages. They try to deliver during 9am to 5pm. I am a student. I go to school from 8am to 3pm.

Most people work normal hours from 9am to 5pm. I'm sure anyone could see that you cannot expect people to open their doors when they're supposed to be at work. The hours used to be a little more flexible. On Saturdays, there used to be hours specifically for package pick-up. Now there are not. You must get to the post office at 9am - 5pm during the weekdays or get to the post office from 8am - 1pm on the weekend. If you cannot... oh, too bad. The rates keep going up and they seem to want to work less and less. I'm so tired of this post office I opt for FedEx or UPS deliveries and pay a lot more.

Since October 2011, I have been having trouble receiving mail. For days or weeks, none showed up. I, by chance, ran into the delivery person in Dec 2011 and he said he would not deliver my mail because he would not walk under the palm trees on the public sidewalk area in front of my gate. I made complaints to the post office at 18002758777 (about 6 times) and nothing changed for a while. When it did, the only thing they did was arrange for someone else to deliver my mail separately while the delivery guy made the run to the rest of my neighbors. Fine, I would have to do my job or be fired, but fine. That really would be okay. But here I am in Apr 2012 and with the exception of his absence, I get my mail whenever, whoever feels like dropping it off.

Its 4-13-2012 and yesterday, everyone else had their mail while at 6PM, I still had none. My mail must have been dropped off (not delivered) well after 6PM because when dropping my daughter to her school bus this morning at 6:15AM, there the previous day's mail. Well before today's delivery to be today's mail. Now its 3:32PM and all my neighbors have mail and I still have none. This is crazy! How can someone refuse to do their job and not be fired? Why is the Wagner branch instead suggesting that I get a PO box, not offering to compensate me with one for the inconvenience, but that I buy one. I pay taxes, don't I count?

She, Chemayane, also followed up with a phone call to let me know the tracking number of the letter the following day. She was so great and I have not received such courteous, and above and beyond customer service in at least a decade. Chemayane should be praised for her kind, caring, and helpful customer service and should be appreciated as she is a wonderful asset to the postal service.

Too Many Breaks - I lived in a community where our mail is delivered in our clubhouse mailboxes. Over the last few months, at least 6 months, it does not matter what time of the day I go and get my mail that our mail lady is on a break. Every time I get my mail it's a different time of the day. Sometimes it's 3pm, sometimes 4:30 pm, sometimes 5 pm and she is always outside, either talking or texting on her telephone. Maybe that is why it always seems our mail is not all in our boxes until most of us have already been up there. This past week she has now decided to play loud Spanish music in the mailroom. We all do not speak Spanish and we should not have to listen to it. I thought about putting a complaint on her a couple of months ago, and today made up my mind. She drives mail truck # **.

I had a package delivered to my PO Box. My tracking information stated it had been delivered on April 9, 2012. I had nothing in my box, no notification slip, no key for the package boxes, nothing. I waited a few more days in case they just hadn't gotten it in my box yet, but today, the 14th, I went to the desk and asked about it. I had printed out my tracking info that showed it had been delivered. They said they put a key in my box and the package was both delivered and picked up.

I am the only one with a key to my box, and I know they put the key to the package in the wrong box, and someone else got my item. I have had keys put in my box for other people's mail several times, and I have always returned the package to the desk to be given to the correct addressee. Apparently, the person who got my package was not so honest. Now, I am out the money for my product, and the post office has not offered to compensate me in any way.

I am really upset because this seems to be a common problem at my particular branch, and I wonder how much mail I haven't been getting over the years now. I need the PO Box for business purposes, but I'm really getting tired of all these mistakes. Twice, I've received packages that were torn to pieces and wet, in a plastic USPS bag apologizing and saying they 'will try to do better. I just don't understand how this is acceptable.

I ordered something online and had it delivered to my company address. I was tracking my package through USPS online tracking service they provide. I noticed that they left a message stating my package was undeliverable. So I went to the post office to pick it up in person the day after (4/11/12). The lady I spoke to told me that the driver did not inventory it at the end of the day and that it may still be on his truck. So she gave me a number to the supervisor and told me to call near the end of the day.

I called the number and no one picked up the phone. So I kept calling and letting it ring a few times. There was one time I called and it seemed like someone picked up and just hung up the line. So I returned to the post office the next day (4/12/12) to find out that they were shipping it back to the sender. My problem is that I did not even receive a notice from USPS notifying me of a drop off, it was only through tracking it online was I aware. Also, the phone number (808-671-0369) given to me was useless because no one answered it. I'm upset due to the lack of customer service and not being able to get my order, which is being returned to the sender.

The carrier simply left a bundle of mail on our front steps rather than putting it through the mail slot in the door. As a consequence, important first class mail was exposed to the elements and theft. I ran into the carrier on the next street. His excuse was that among the mail was a package that could not fit through the slot, so he left the entire bundle on the steps. It is debatable whether the package, which was a flexible plastic envelope containing an infant dress, could fit. Even if the package could not fit, should not he have put the rest of the mail through the slot. Moreover, if he was going to leave the mail outside, our side porch is sheltered and not visible to passers-by and just as easy for him to use. Massive amounts of missing parcels and 4-week delivery on priority: We ship over 100 parcels a day with USPS. So we have a ton of experience in dealing with them. If it was possible, we would never ship another item with them. Unfortunately, our items are so small that we cannot ship them any other way. In the last 6 months, USPS has gotten so bad that shipping within the USA in priority mail is now taking up to 4 weeks for delivery. This is not a single case issue. This is happening to at least 3-5 packages per day. At the end of the month, this totals about 90-150 packages that took a month to deliver when they were supposed to take only 3 days.

In addition, we pay .19 cents per package for delivery confirmation that includes tracking. Yet, we do not actually get the service we pay for. When we asked the post office why they were not scanning to track and not scanning upon delivery even though we pay for it, their response was that it was at the carrier's discretion to scan or not. Are you kidding me? Then shouldn't it be at my discretion whether I pay for the service or not?

This is just the tip of the iceberg in the complaints I have about USPS. I could go on for days. But I will limit it to their unbelievably slow delivery service and not providing the services they charge for. Aren't these grounds for a lawsuit?

Ineptness & Rudeness at Pompano Beach Post Office: I have been living at my current address for over 12 years and about 8 years ago, I started selling books and various items online. I am at the post office 6 days a week and I see firsthand the terrible and shoddy service that is given to paying customers. I have had several bad problems with the staff at this post office most specifically one with a supervisor who has no people skills at all. The last time, she actually pulled my package out of my hands and placed it away from me. I was in shock at her outrageous behavior even though I knew from observing her over time that this was common behavior. She is rude and nasty to everyone and how she became a supervisor is anyone's guess. At the post office, bad behavior gets you promoted.

I wrote and complained about her and another supervisor called me and spent the entire time defending her behavior. His only concession was that he said he would speak to her. I am outraged that behavior like this should be allowed. For those who are not aware, the post office cannot be sued but anyone working for the post office can and I am considering a suit about other incidents.

I spend on average $4,000 a year on postal expense so I am not a casual customer. I go out of my way to avoid using this post office but it is the closest one to my home and sometimes I cannot. If UPS decides to open a facility near me, I would be delighted and give them all my business but the nearest one is a 25 minute drive for me. Whenever I have to go into this post office, there is always a long wait, a minimum of 25 minutes. The sign that says it will be a 5 minute wait is a joke and an insult to anyone that goes there.

On average, I have 3 problems a month with the mail that I send and never have any problems been satisfied without it costing me more money. The postal service is a real disgrace. It is full of overpaid and underworked people who do not even come close to doing a satisfactory job. But the real problem is their rudeness to paying customers. If any business ran their business like the post office, they would not have any customers. The service has seriously deteriorated over the last three years, not that it was that great before. Last evening, I had emails from a customer who received her item in an open box and smashed into 10 pieces. Is this the service we receive from the post office?

It's because they can't just try three times like a professional carrier. I called the 800 number, and it was completely useless and as impossible to get customer service as it is to get the recording to understand what you're saying.

I hope I got the article number correct; all I could do was guess. All this could have been avoided, if the carrier would have simply knocked on my door. I was home and live in a small apartment. I have lived in the same apartment building for over nine years, so I feel there should not be an excuse for misdirected mail when it reaches my building. This problem came to my attention at Christmas 2010 when a gift sent to me from my son and his family was apparently left in an adjacent mailbox. The person receiving my misdelivered mail does not pass my mail to me when he/she receives it. My birthday was March 5. The mail person once again left a gift and card for me from my son and family in the adjacent mailbox. Needless to say, I did not receive the gift nor card.

This is a serious problem that is becoming worse as time goes along. I never know if I will receive the mail sent to me. With the ever-increasing cost of postage, it would seem the mail could be delivered correctly. The sloppy mail delivery is getting worse, not better. I know who receives my mail as the person talks to others about things that were written in the cards I never received. Please, please, try to do something about this terrible problem. Thank you.

I caught up with Romeo walking from Ralphs with his food and asked him why he didn't check. At that point, he asked me how I got it and snatched my letter out of my hand. Who does this? I know there are 2 sides to every story, and then there is the truth. However, the man is the rudest person I've come across. He told me I was wrong and just kept talking over me. At that point, I could see this was going nowhere. I took my mail back.

By the way, once I have possession of my mail and your supervisor snatches it from my hand, isn't that some type of crime or theft? What he snatched out of my hand was a $2000 check I had been expecting. Granted he didn't know it was a check, it does not excuse that type of behavior. At this point, I want a resolution to this matter or even just an apology from Romeo.

I am fully prepared to file a complaint with the Consumer Affairs and consult with any legal persons who can escalate this case, due to the treatment I received. How dare he speak down to me, lie to me, and snatch my mail containing money and my bills right out of my hand, granted he did not know it was a check? Please assist me. And at the very least, I sure hope you, guys, treat him exactly like he treated me. Whatever happened to the golden rule?

I have complained multiple times about my mail delivery over the years. Most recently (since last Summer), the problems have increased dramatically. I finally decided to change to a PO Box effective Feb. 14 and mail was forwarded to PO Box ** from that point on or was supposed to be. I have called the 800 number for the post office. I have contacted USPS through email from their site. I have been referred to Consumer Affairs Postal Div Eastern CT. Well they don't answer their phone. I get to leave a message over and over on consecutive days. Finally, I got a call today from them from a very, very rude and clueless individual named David **. When I asked for a supervisor, all I got was "I will have to have them call you", which has not yet happened.

I wanted to get something done about missing mail, delayed mail etc. once and for all. The PO supervisor Kim has ensured that discipline will be in place for the latest offense of returning a package as undeliverable as address, but I want to document my complaints on a higher level. Well this David called me and informed me that I don't have forwarding in place for my mail to PO Box **, etc. He would not listen to me at all. He would not answer my questions. He was yelling and rude. All I wanted to know from Consumer Affairs at this point was where to I complain above them about the PO? He did not identify himself until I asked and he did not do anything, but insisted my address was not my address and my mail was not being forwarded. I know it is.

So at this point, I waited to speak to a supervisor or preferably a manager from Consumer Affairs Postal Division to document my problems and hopefully get some satisfaction that the problems will get better. If I could, I would happily avoid the PO altogether. It is causing too many problems. Last month, I had to have multiple packages reshipped (late Feb) and now this one will have to be reshipped and now is no good to me because the contents were time contingent. Please feel free to contact me if you know what you are talking about. My address and the forwarding PO BOx number are above. They are real. I am real. I will be going to my congressman next.

The receiving party says it takes 15 to 20 days before they receive my payment! What is going on? It shouldn't take more than 3 days to get a letter across the country. Last month, it took 20 days to get one two states away. I used to have my bank send (mail) payment until my payment was lost in the mail for 28 days! The care of delivery of the watch is what I’m upset about. The watch was not placed in the mailbox provided, but literally thrown ten to twenty feet into my front yard for any passerby to steal or walk off with. This is not acceptable. Luckily, I spotted the brown box in the yard as I left my driveway and was able to retrieve it before it walked off. There is no excuse for what was done other than disregard for my property. If this is what the US Postal Service has come to, then maybe they are right to fall to the wayside and replaced with a different technology.

This is not what they advertised as per the web page from USPS; delivery in 2 days in most cases (mine was not a hard delivery). I did not dream up this advertised policy, the clerk did not make "false" statements per their advertised delivery policy. Why wasn’t my package delivered? Why would it take 72 hours to discover if my package has been delivered? I have a receipt number and all pertinent information.

I have run out of options with the USPS and you might be their last hope for me to continue to do business with them. I have a warehouse location on South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton, CO that I store product and ship product from. The USPS has changed my lock box keys 3 times since October and the last key I got does not work with any of the boxes and hasn't since November. Because of that, I have not been receiving my mail and most importantly I don't get my product returns, but I do refund people in the hope they someday arrive to me. I estimate I have lost $1,000 because of the ineptitude of my local office in downtown Littleton.

I have spoken to consumer affairs, some girl named Laura, and finally some guy named Paul who finally met me at my shop some 3 weeks ago and said the problem would be fixed. I am now going into my 4th month without getting any mail delivered including all the product returns that were sent back to me after the holidays. I am close to seeking legal advice, but I thought I'd check with you first.

This idiot named Paul has been nothing short of a liar. I find it amazing that someone like me who spends over $3,000/month on shipping fees has to go through this debacle. I am trying to run a business and I don't need this ** anymore. I will use FedEx for 100% of my shipping very soon. The USPS is supposed to make running my business easier and it has been anything but that. I even offered them to deliver my mail to my neighbor’s mailbox which was a solution offered to me but never acted on.

I will be ignored no longer. It is now no longer a shock that the USPS is going to go bankrupt. The level of service is dismal at best and I am ticked off basically beyond repair. A business owner who cannot even get mail delivered is astonishing to me.

I don't like signing for mail if I don't know who sent it. I called the local P.O. which the pink slip said had my letter and could be picked up after 8am on Monday.

I cannot go to the P.O. where my mail is sent from, since I ride the public bus and it would be a 1-mile walk to the P.O. and back to the bus stop. I am 73 1/2 years old and that's just too far, so I have to get it redelivered. I called them to see if they could give me a clear description of the sender, only to be told "No" and that I should just schedule a redelivery. I asked the man if he could do that and was told "No" again. I slammed down the phone in frustration.

I went online and found the proper link to schedule a redelivery. I got a confirmation number and such. I scheduled a redelivery online for today (Friday, March 30th). I even got an email reminder yesterday, that the delivery was scheduled for today March 30th. I stayed home all day and waited... and the carrier never knocked, rang the bell nor made any attempt so far as I can tell to deliver this letter. I have a knocker on my door and a working doorbell. Neither was used. My neighbor's dogs go crazy when anyone comes up the walk way. I would have heard anybody.

I checked my mail around 6:30pm and was surprised to see my regular mail was indeed delivered. That SOB came and delivered the regular mail but was too lazy to walk over and knock on my door to deliver the CM. What good is issuing a confirmation number if they're not going to try to deliver it? On Monday, I called Diana, a supervisor, who assured me “go to window 7 and you will be provided with as many as you want.” Not true. I went to window 7 and a male employee grudgingly handed me five and took them out of the complete package, saving the coupon packs and catalog change of address form for himself! Same thing happened to my husband who went the next day and asked for 3 forms from window 7. The slim, long black haired postal worker gave him 1 form and took out the coupons for moving! This is unjust, unfair and employee misconduct.

There's never any change of address forms in the lobby for the last 3 months. One of the male postal workers said the supervisor at this post office told them not to put them out and prefers people use usps.com! My father doesn't know how to use a computer and doesn't own one. This is inappropriate to tell customers. Also, today I responded to a supervisor's callback to me about my USPS complaint. It's now 25 minutes later.

Who is running the Fort Hamilton post office? Shame on you! USPS, you need to hire hardworking postal workers in need of jobs. This is the worst experience of any post office I've experienced after living in five states. Also, the Fort Hamilton post office is notorious for closing their doors a couple of minutes before the close time. Back on January 31st, 2012, I mailed out 4 packages from the Graf Garrison post office to the states. Within 5 days later, 3 of the 4 packages arrived at their destination. The last one still has not made it. Neither the tracking information nor the customs information can be used to locate this package. I am not sure if the individual who helped me out forgot to scan the box, but now I need help tracking it. I have already filed claims with the USPS and with the MPSA. The fact that the customs has not been scanned makes me think it may still be lost somewhere in Europe or held up at customs. I am hoping you can look into this or provide me contacts to help track this down. Anyway, below is as much detail as I can provide about the parcel, its contents, etc. So I hope that you can use this to your advantage to help me out.

The delivery confirmation number is **. The customs number is **. Return address: **. Delivery address: **. Please note that we are now currently living at the delivery address as we have moved back to the US and are no longer on active duty. So if the package is located, it will need to be sent to the delivery address.

The box was wrapped in a brown paper wrap. That is what had the delivery address and return address on it, although, it may have come off based on the inability to track the package. The box within the brown paper was a white moving box with red print. I am fairly certain it was an AGS Worldwide Movers box. It has a bird on the logo.

Within the box, I had packed each of the items in plastic bags that probably had either "the exchange" on it or perhaps a "commissary" bag. Some of the main contents include a First Act Fun in a Drum (pink), which includes a harmonica, tambourine, 2 drum sticks, and an ocarina. I also remember putting a whole bunch of infant spoons inside the drum. They were NUK spoons. It also contains a Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Fun with Friends musical table. I had disassembled the music table to make it fit in the box. There were 4 legs (blue in color) and then the table (a variety of activities and colors on it) itself.

I had several large wood knob shape puzzle pieces in there. The board for the puzzle was shipped in a different box. There were a total of 8 shapes: circle, triangle, square, oval, rectangle, hexagon, diamond, and octagon. There was also a variety of clothing in there, children’s and men's clothing that I used for packaging. That was the majority of what I can recall from the box. Hopefully, that should be enough to identify the contents.

For the past 1 1/2 months, I have been trying to send relatives a package to Iran. I have lived in the US for the past 35 years. I am accustomed to your procedures on mailing a package to Iran. However, every package that I mailed to Iran was returned to me with a letter saying that either the form is incorrect or the information is not filled in. Upon close inspection, I have reviewed these documents with your workers and all the information is written correctly as well as the information inserted in the form is correct. I always make sure that I confer with the post office that I'm using the correct form.

On Saturday, 3/24, I went to the post office to pick another returned package (my 5th returned package) and was obviously quite upset. I asked the assistant manager for help with mailing packages to Iran. Her response was why don't I just go myself to Iran and deliver the package as I see I am having problems sending it or just go to FedEx. At that point, I was so upset that I asked her to help me. She called the police instead and totally embarrassed me. Even the customers in line were upset with the attitude and behavior of the assistant manager and the racist remarks. Needless to say, I have been totally embarrassed in my own community and still have no solution to my problem. Your attention to this matter will be kindly appreciated.

Box 30046, Tampa, FL 33630-3046 which contained all my personal information relative to my wallet being stolen last June on the Red Line and collection notices I began receiving as a result of someone counterfeiting checks and putting my name and old address on them. There was an original, signed and notarized affidavit with copies of documents showing that I reported this to the MBTA transit police, as well as other supporting documentation that was my wallet was stolen. I was informed this business never received my envelope. I have been trying to track this envelope for weeks.

There is no updated tracking information about it being delivered (although I paid additional money for this). I wrote to the USPS (800 ASK USPS) last Thursday about this. Roseann, a rep for Boston Consumer Affairs, called me on Monday and told me that it was sent to zip code 33600 and offered me no further information about where this envelope is. I asked that she have someone else call me about this. I got a follow-up call today for a Joanne **, who advised me to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office, Consumer Affairs. I have had trouble with them in the past as far as certified mail sent from my business. This has the potential to really negatively affect me personally if someone, other than the intended recipient, was to receive it. My social security, address, license number, date of birth were all included in that mailing, as well as a copy of my signature.

I received a letter last week from a supervisor at the post office informing me that they would no longer be delivering packages to my home because they heard that one of my dogs got loose. I had had no warning that there was a problem with my dogs. The carrier and the incident they referred to happened when the carrier wasn't even there! I called last Wednesday and filed a complaint and was told that someone would call me back within 24 hours. I called Thursday and again on Friday, at which time they gave me the phone number for the station manager. On Thursday, I had a notice that there was a package and that I had to wait till Friday to pick it up. I found that unacceptable. If they aren't going to deliver packages, they need to allow me to pick it up the same day as the notice.

On Friday, they gave me the phone number for the station manager. I called today and the person who wrote the letter (not the station manager) answered and refused to allow me to talk to the station manager. I called Consumer Affairs and was told that the person assigned to my case had already left for the day. She left at 1:30? Must be nice. Where can I apply for that job?

I was advised that delivery would be in 2-3 days; however, the letter was not delivered until nine days later on March 26. The delivery, which cost $5.15, took longer than the regular mail delivery cost of $0.44. This delay caused financial hardship for the recipient of the letter. I complained to the local postal service agent, and his response was that the postal service has no control or responsibility for this mail delivery. I still have 2 outstanding packages that are at the 3-week point of their delivery. One says it’s still in Florida and the other is supposedly in Chicago. I think they should have to change the name of their service to USPS Whenever-The-Hell-We-Feel-Like-Delivering-It Service because that is a far more accurate description. So I signed the back and said, “Please leave on ledge where other boxes are left.” I taped it to my mailbox, the slip was removed and no package was left. Neither was there a new slip saying to retrieve the package. I called and several calls later, they said it was found and at the Morningside Station. I went back today (3rd time!) and they gave me a package I didn't know I had. I look at it and said this is not the correct package; the one I want is from Hong Kong! She looked and said, “Oh, this is all we have.” If I had not looked, she would have kept my slip! I called the Hartsdale/Scarsdale office asking why they sent it to my old address. The supervisor apologized and said she would forward it to the new address. I called back when I did not receive it and found out it was never forwarded. I got another apology with a promise that it would be forwarded. That was on March 7th. I never received it and the last tracking transaction reads forwarded March 7th. Numerous phone calls to the postal office consumer affairs department did not help at all. They take down your complaint, hand you a case number and tell you that it will be forwarded to "someone who can best handle this" (they use the same line all the time) and someone will call you back in 24 hours.

I lodged 3 complaints and no one ever gets back to you. They only tell you the same thing you told them, that it is still in transit. I don't need consumer affairs for that. I already know that by checking the tracking website. I finally got a notice at my home in CT saying that the package is there and I can pick it up at CT. I was relieved, but that did not last long. I went to the post office in Danbury, CT and they could not find the letter. So now, not only did it get lost in NY but finally made it to CT, but now the CT post office lost it. I called consumer affairs once again, only to be given yet another case number and told the case be forwarded to "someone who can best handle this". It's like they read a script. The post office consumer affairs is the most useless dept and is of absolutely no help. They are just there for a paycheck.

So I check to see if package arrived via USPS Tracking but it says it is in Richmond, California sorting facility. I called USPS and they have no clue why it was there and said that they have up to 5 days to deliver it to Canton. I went online to track the package and it had accepted with the date, time, and location of where I dropped off my package for 2/25, and nothing more. I then called the post office 800 number to see what was going on. She didn't want to help me, saying the package wasn't missing for enough business days. After I counted them out for her, I gave her all of my information and she said they would contact me the next day. Then I went to the post office and told them my story. She looked into it right away, but didn't have an answer. I have been going back and forth with the post office the last 10 days with a promise to call me, and that hasn't happened yet.

So far, I have been told scanning the tracking number is a courtesy and not mandatory, packages should have insurance, and most likely my package is at a mail recovery center in Atlanta. So today, after all this run-around, I called the post office 800 number and asked for the mail recovery phone number. The person I spoke with said they don't have it. The only way for her to access it would be if it was in my case file, which she couldn't pull up with her system down. I mail packages daily for my Amazon customers and this is a real turn off! This have been a lot of aggravation, wasted time, and has made my 100% customer satisfaction on Amazon less than perfect. The whole situation is disappointing!

Ok, so I am currently on attempt number 2 (two) to send a letter from Tampa, FL to St. Claire Shores, MI with a rather sizeable cashier’s check inside made out to my sister. I sent the first letter on Feb. 18th which was a Saturday. I expected the letter to make it to Michigan within 5 (five) business days, but when that came and went and I got a phone call asking where it was, I had no answer. Well, it turns out I had accidentally switched the last two number. I put “01” and it was supposed to be “10.” Well, I thought that was incredibly crazy that their local mail carrier couldn’t figure out what I had meant by that and didn’t just deliver it to them. He didn’t. So I cancelled that check. On the 14th of March (Wednesday) I went to my bank, got another cashier’s check, this time for double the amount, and resent it making sure I used delivery confirmation again.

Well, I wouldn’t be here writing this if everything had worked the way I believed it would. It’s been 10 (ten) days now and still nothing. I just had a sit down with a regional postmaster (rep) who told me the package, while not having tracking paid for, was tracked because they had to scan the barcode every time it went through a center. So, according to him, the last place they have my letter being scanned was in Jacksonville, FL. What? At this point, I don’t even know what to say. I know what I have to do now, but still thanks for absolutely nothing, USPS.

We live in a four-family house with mailboxes and not a mail slot for our mail, and I understand that sometimes the fit can be tight, but there is no reason for the mail to arrive in such a condition. If the magazines do not fit into the mailbox, then they can be left on the porch instead of shoving everything into the box with no regard if the items are crumpled or ripped. I have called regarding this issue in the past, and it seems that it was not addressed as our mail is still arriving in poor condition.

So I come back the day with the tracking number and they tell me it’s already been picked up, by whom, not me!

Now, on my 5th visit to my very helpful post office, I was determined to get an answer, spoke with the clerk and the postmaster only to be told that unless I get my mail certified. I might or might not get it received. Such professionalism from another government agency and they wonder why people do what they do.

We have also filed a complaint online via USPS and here. We have also called our local post office (old and new) to get an answer with no success.

We are missing cards/money/gift packages from a birthday celebrated last week, deposit money from our old unit totaling nearly $3,000 and a paycheck for $1,500. I would say the USPS has completely dropped the ball on this and is costing us dearly towards our bills and livelihood. First of all, I am a contract carrier for USPS. I went to work on Friday, March 9 at nine and when I got there, Dawn ** was enforcing new rules to the contract carriers. She came to my case to talk to me about it and I had brought up the fact that it says in my contract that if I am to do any extra services, the PO is to compensate us. But she proceeded to tell me to do what she says because she is the boss and she was not going to pay us. I then proceeded to tell her that I am five months pregnant and I am already having complications. She said, "I don’t care and you are going to do what I tell you.” I then got upset and started to have contractions. I then told her that I have to leave. She then stepped towards me and said, “You cannot leave." I then proceeded to tell her that I am a contract carrier and I can leave if I wanted. I told her to get out of my way.

At this time, I was in tears because I do not want to lose this baby. She talked to me like I was a child. As I was leaving, she then tried to yell at me and say you cannot leave your contract. I said I was not, but she kept pushing me to try to say that I quit. But I told her again that I did not say I quit. I just wanted to talk to with dignity and respect. Dawn ** did none of that. She has caused an uproar with contract carriers and because of her talking to us carriers that way, the work place has become a hostile workplace. I have tried to contact someone, but I am getting the runaround. I have witnesses from that day as well to confirm what has happened. I am concerned for my safety, the baby’s safety and the safety of my co-workers because she is causing a hostile work situation.

I have checked the delivery confirmation number and it tells me that the package is being processed for delivery in Germantown. In February, when I checked the delivery number, it stated that the package was undeliverable as addressed. I had a return address on the package and if it was unable to be delivered, it seems to me that it would have been returned me.

At this point, I don't know what to do. One of the people whom I talked to sent me a claim form, but after completing and sending the form in with my purchased receipts, I received it back stating that nothing could be done because it was not insured. Even though the package was not insured, the postal service should take some kind of responsibility for it not being delivered. I paid for the priority box, priority mail and delivery confirmation. At this point, I am afraid to mail anything of importance because it might not be delivered. I do hope that this situation can be looked at. Thanks in advance.

Somehow the system shows her status as 'Family' forwarding. Now, my mail is being delivered to her new address because we have the same last name. She is not getting her mail.

We called the Bellwood Post office to find out what steps are needed to be taken to correct this. We were instructed to come to the office to complete the corrected forms. Her form was to change her status to 'Individual' mail forwarding. My form was to have my mail corrected coming from her new home to mine. This seems very strange as I did not move! This did not correct the problem. We called several times after that to both our local post offices. She visited the downtown branch to determine what needed to be corrected on her end. Each time we were told our previous step was wrong and was instructed to do something different than we did before to correct the issue.

I have called the office irate about this problem not being corrected. They have made attempts to investigate or appease me at best. I have read some of your responses and they make the employees who work with the public look bad. Please note that we have to follow the last instruction given to us. If they tell us to deliver and it's already past the cut-off time, that's the reason why we are delaying some of our customers. We as carriers take the blame for everything. We do not make any rules in the USPS or we cannot make any comments.

It's sad that we, as a company, receive complaints everyday but the truth is that we, as a company, is broken. In some state, we have employees that don't have a real job. They just follow carriers on the street, lease a car and USPS is just paying almost $3.90 for gas. It is sad when you have station that do not have change and no stamps to sell to the public. Some of the new people they have hired in the postal service to follow regulars on the street can be a backup to assist the front liners, do the backup phone lines or help sort out complaints for our customers.

But as employees, we do not make calls. Our system is not perfection. We lose money everyday because of the payroll system. They have people all over the city just doing stuff--wasting the USPS payroll. The USPS can't count all their loose employees. The postmaster of other cities have employees who are doing things that do not profit any money for USPS.

On Saturday, I watch young people working for the USPS in the City of Memphis, TN following behind a regular carrier delivery, riding a car from American Car Center. It is sad that we are broken but we got money for things that do not profit USPS. Apparently, the situation is so bad that someone has to pay a transitional employee just to follow carriers and install cameras in their mail trucks.

If it is that extremely important, it makes the carriers look bad in the public eye because when you get people following us, the public see this. And as a whole, the USPS get on live TV and say that we are broke. We can't be too many people riding the streets behind mail carrier. It endangers the carriers because they don't identify themselves. It looks very disgraceful and shameful.

I have spoken with customer service over 30 times and with my local postmaster in both the origin city and the destination city over 20 times. They kept saying to be more patient and that without delivery confirmation, there is nothing they can do. The post office thinks they are above the law and that they can get away with this. Good luck, that's all I have to say.

I am reversing my credit card payment to them, and I encourage anyone having problems with delivery to do the same. This is fraudulent. They should truly be ashamed of themselves for this "hey, it;s not my fault" attitude; it is your fault. And when you get fired because the postal service is operating in a deficit and willfully and knowingly does not run on a balanced budget. They will understand when they have to apply for food stamps (in person), since there isn't going to be a post office.

I even got an email from the national customer service center of the post office where they try to convert this to being FedEx's problem, stating that they "rent space" on FedEx airplanes and because of this, FedEx is responsible.

The missing mail packet contained one month's worth of mail from my office that I did not feel safe carrying on my person, so I shipped it home, since I was going to be out of the office for the week and wanted to be able to work from home. Also, it contained a new American Express card, my office bills, and a time-sensitive application for a grant. All are missing. I'm absolutely furious. Not to mention how it affects my family life, the frustration, and then rude one becomes to their family. This is all because of the post offices' inefficiency. They truly should be ashamed of their selves and have to answer to the US legal system.

Well, where do I start with the runaround I have been getting from the USPS? First off, I'm a regular user of the USPS and ship multiple items 2 to 3 times a week out of my eBay store until now. I take my packages into post office and pay cash to mail my items and have watched many times how rough workers handle packages, even ones marked "fragile" in bold letters by tossing them into a bin or dropping them from several feet with no regard to what it is. Makes me wonder what happens when no one is watching them during transport or in the hubs that sort the packages! Well, my last experience that prompted this letter just cost me over $200, so yes, I rather pissed not to mention all the runaround I have got.

I shipped a very expensive 10lbs transmission shaft in a heavy cardboard shipping tube taped all the way around and on both ends with commercial shipping tape. Well, my customer received the tube tore all to pieces and looked like it had been drug behind a truck and ran over several times but no shaft in it. I have spent countless hours and at least 10 phone calls and numerous trips to the post office talking with these people. Oh did I mention I paid for delivery confirmation and now almost a month later, it still shows as not delivered? So I actually paid for service I didn't get once again. Well a case was opened when my customer got his package missing contents. A week or so later, I called back and they told me it was delivered and case was closed. Huh? I said. How could you deliver it without a package and asked to speak to someone higher up who might be able to help me.

After talking to them and going through the whole thing once again (about the 5th time now), they said we will have to open another case for you! We will call you on the next business day, they said and I agreed. 3 days later, I called back since I haven't heard from them. I talked to a girl in FL, who told me they would start checking at all the places it passed through and see if they could find it. But in the same breath, she told me it's almost impossible to locate missing item unless it had your name or some other markings that could identify it. Funny as it only took a few days to lose it, so I sent them a picture which speaks a thousand words and I would only hope they have at least one smart enough person to be able to match a picture with an item. So I told her it's over 2 feet long and weighs 10+ lbs. She then told me it might take 4 to 12 weeks and if I didn't hear back from them, I could pretty much kiss it goodbye. Sorry, this is not acceptable to me.

What ever happened to customer service? I guess because it's a government job, they do what they want, when they want and get paid the big bucks to do just that. It's really no wonder our economy has wound up in the crapper and we get almost everything from overseas now because none of the major companies take any pride in their work or jobs and quit raising prices when they do less. Like so many others, I'm sure they really don't care as long as they get that paycheck every week. I do make this promise USPS, I can and will stop using your service if this is the way you chose to run your business as UPS does take a little more pride in their work and business.

There was nothing that could be done, because I had to wait until the 5 days have gone by!

I got the usual "I apologize" crap, but nothing else was offered or done. I've called twice a day everyday. Fast forward to today, and guess what?! Nothing has changed since March 13."! No updated scans, no info on the location of the package, or anything! However, that didn't ring a bell to all the reps who have looked at it. That maybe, just maybe, there's a problem that there hadn't been any scans since Tuesday. I wouldn't be surprised if it was damaged, lost, stolen, or still at the facility! It was at that point that I was offered to have a case opened to research the matter!

To top that off, it will take 1 business day for a callback! I am forced to wait until March 19! I am beyond livid, because everything was misleading! This shipment was for a surprise birthday gift, and the only surprise given was the lack of business ethic and professionalism with this situation! I can't believe that there aren't hourly or even daily reports for all of their shipments to track their productivity! How can USPS ensure that packages are delivered or en-route where it should be?

I paid for a service that has not been rendered, yet every rep whom I've spoken with addresses me as the incompetent one! One even mentioned that if I had it overnight, it would have been guaranteed! The only reason I used USPS was because of the high cost with their competitors. I've worked in Logistics and Customer Service for years! This is beyond poor service. Needless to say, I will never use USPS again and will email, blog, and write complaints to any and everyone until I see fit!

Now, 30 days later, it has not showed up. I was not offered express mail as the knowledge of the clerk must be limited. I had to find this out after the fact that for about $5.00 more I could have had tracking. They say it is not traceable, yet it is if it’s scanned. No one will help. The local post say don’t worry it will show up. I called supervisors, Canada post, and they said custom’s number is not in their system. The last thing said was contact my local senator.

This was an eBay item and the woman wants her money back ($275.00). Looks like I am out the money as I have to refund her soon. She won’t wait forever. I don’t blame her. I will take it as far as I need. After 6 to calls from Canada Customs to Canada Post to USPS and back from supervisors on down to clerk, they won’t help. They’re so sorry for my situation. They understand. I won’t ship anything to Canada unless they purchase express with tracking and insurance.

With all the nightmares, why would a person not buy insurance? It’s like they try to sell you the cheapest service to get you in the end. And I don’t blame Canada. The last place it was scanned was New York. It seems like USPS sets you up to lose mail and I read the nightmares on the net all the time. I think it’s time the local post office get replaced with better ways of keeping track of mail. First class was $4. There’s no difference according to people that work their. Priority is the same (6 to 10 days). If I got to USPS and track it, it says last scanned in Jamaica, New York. I think it’s yet to leave the US.

Due to family death (reason mail was on hold - eminent death), I did not pick up the mail the week of 4th - 10th. I went to pick up the mail on the 13th of March and postal worker Jessie check twice and tells me no mail is saved.

So I call for the Postal Manager (who I was told earlier was not there) to double check as there are important documents needing my attention. Again, no mail has arrived. He looks at me with a straight face and tells me there is no mail. After 40 years in the same address, I have always got a piece of mail and here is the Postal Manager lying to my face. Then he tells me something needs to be done as in it needs to be forwarded or P.O. Box because they cannot hold it. Again, remember I filled out the application and got the OK for 2/23 - 3/23/2012 for hold and here he is telling me that I should make a change. Case number is **. As of this writing, mail is still missing. No mail has arrived to the house either, so where did it go?

The USPS tracking system is completely useless, and they never seem to deliver by the promised date. Every month I place two orders from a vendor and pay for express shipping, which costs me an additional $12 per order. The vendors, with whom I've done business for years, are very reliable and ship my packages the following business day, so I know I can count on their information.

The most recent example, which is typical of all my orders, I had a package that was picked up by the USPS on Monday, March 12, 2012. It was supposed to be delivered no later than Wednesday, March 14th, by 3:00 p.m. It is now Thursday and still no package. When tracking the package, the USPS website says, “The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on March13, 2012 to expect your package for mailing.” In other words, they are claiming they have not yet received a package; only to expect a package.

When calling the USPS customer service line, and tracking the package that way, the recorded message states that they were notified of the shipment on Monday, March 12, 2012. When talking with the customer service agent, they claim they were notified on the 13th. When I ask why their tracking information is inconsistent and is never updated, which makes the tracking system completely useless, they apologize and assure me the tracking website only updates once per day. I informed them that is not updated daily and point out that three days later, their system still says the same thing.

Again, they just apologize and brush it off. Never once has the shipment gone as planned, and never once has their tracking information been up to date. Often, the package will finally arrive, and their tracking system will finally update to say the package is now at a sorting facility in some other state.

No one is ever held accountable, and they still keep my $24 a month for express shipping. It's ironic. When on hold while on the phone with the USPS, the recorded infomercial claims they have the most reliable shipping service in the world, when in fact, in my experience, they have the most unreliable service. It seems they do what they want, no one is held accountable, and the consumer suffers.

When I called, the package was already sent back to the sender and this idiot ** said that nothing could be done and that I called them too late.

It is insane! I called 5 times in a week and a half with 4 case numbers. And she told me that I will need to ask the sender to resend and pay another shipping fee. It is absurd! That is why USPS needs to close doors. They don't really care.

According to my vendor, the USPS stated that they attempted to deliver on March 3, 2012. Where the heck is my slip, because I never got one?

This has happened on several occasions, what the heck are you guys doing with our tax money? Because clearly, I am not seeing the benefits. Now it is March 14, 2012 and my package might not be at the facility first of all, and second, I go to school on the weekends. You are seriously inconveniencing me and I am highly pissed off. So, what are you going to do about this and my many other complaints because it seems to be that nothing ever gets done and when it does, it's because you don't want to hear complaints like these.

The mail carrier said she sent a batch of Social Security checks back on Monday, 2/7/12, because it was too early. Thursday, 2/10/12, around 1:30 PM, we called the 1-800 number again. The rep said to call Clinton-Macomb post office and gave me the number. We called the number we received and the answering service came on saying they were closed!

We called the 1-800 number again and got another number for US Post Office. Same thing. We had to call another local post office that had to call someone at the Clinton-Macomb post office to turn on the phones! This went from bad to worse. Finally, we filed with Social Security for missing check. Another fiasco and run-around. We received check on 2/17/12 with a note from the carrier, “Here's your check!” We are concerned about retaliation in the future with regards to getting mail timely from post office for making a complaint. I have a complaint that took place in your Kensington office on 1-13-12. I took a letter in on 1-13-12 to be mailed to the Office of Federal Employees Group Life Insurance located in Oriskany, NY 13424. The teller advised me that it would be guarantee delivered on 1-14-12. I paid the $16.15 fee for the letter to be delivered the next day. When I called the office on Tuesday, the agent had not received the letter. I checked the tracking log and it indicated that the letter was not delivered until 1-17-12. I could have paid and sent the letter via regular mail for delivery from 1-13-12 to 1-17-12.

I'm asking for a refund in the total amount of $16.15. I was guaranteed delivery and did not receive it. I called the Kensington, MD's post office and was told to bring in the receipt and I would receive a refund. When I went to the post office, upon approaching the teller to advise her of my situation, she took my receipt and went in the back behind a wall and I guess got the supervisor. I stood there for at least 10 minutes and didn't know what was going on. Some lady came from behind the partition and stated, that she was unable to give me a refund, because the 12th of January was on a Saturday, further stating that the 15th was on a Sunday and 16th was on a Monday (which was a holiday). Since the office was not opened on a Holiday, Express mail was not able to make the deliver.

This lady, (who never identified herself, never apologized to me for waiting for a long time with no explanation, or ever greeted me with a Hello) stated that when I was in the office on the 13th of January (Friday) and since Saturday and Sunday were both non-working days and Monday was a holiday, that I wasn't entitled to a refund, basically due to Monday being a holiday. The office was closed.

I informed this lady that when I requested next day delivery, I wasn't told that since today is Friday and tomorrow and the next days were Saturday and Sunday and Monday was a holiday, she couldn't guarantee me next day delivery. I would have taken the regular mail route. I assumed that the clerk knew that the 16th was a holiday; she never said that, you know Monday the 16th is a holiday, so your letter will not be delivered until Tuesday 17th. Never was I told this. I completed the form and she gave me a receipt with the statement imprinted that 1-14-12 at 3:00 PM was the expected delivery. Money back guarantee signature waived. It also stated that the refund was for guaranteed service only.

When I checked out the status of the letter, it’s showing me that the letter did not get into Syracuse until the 14, of January and arriving at the destination on Tuesday January 17. Please review my compliant. I'm requesting for a refund. Please provide me with a written reply. I believe if I had sent my letter by regular mail it would had arrive approximately on the same date and the next day delivery with less money spent.

I have never received our family mails in our own mailbox, and my mail was always delivered to the 2nd floor mail box. The tenants living on the 2nd floor had to deal with our mails, and always had to put it down for us, instead of the mail man who is responsible to do this him/herself. I've noticed this problem since I have moved in, but the other problem that occurred was when I ordered a package that was very important, and has gone missing when the USPS states that they have already delivered the item.

The USPS states they left the package on the front door when nobody answered the door bell. However, all of our family members were home that day the delivery man left the package. No one from our family heard the doorbell, nor seen any package at the front door. I've contacted the local post office regarding this issue; however the so-called supervisor stated that they have done their job in delivering the item, and if it went missing, it is not their responsibility to look for the missing item. They have left it at the door, but nobody picked it up, therefore it's our problem for not getting the package.

The situation of my important package being missing itself was very frustrating, but most importantly how the supervisor, who takes responsibility in delivering the mails in my community, was very rude and extremely unhelpful. I want to strongly report this issue, and have this awful problem in my neighborhood be fixed immediately. I do not want any of my future items and mails to be missing.

This time, in order to save a few dollars, I gambled on the post office because I still perceived them to be a respectable organization. So, I let them handle the delivery of the second 20 of my new books. That was a big mistake! Not only did they drop the 25 lb pound box causing it to split completely open, spilling all 20 copies of my 380 page book on the ground but they put dirty books back into a very poorly taped box in a helter-skelter (senseless) order that caused even more damage to my property. Not a moment was spent by the post office cleaning my books off or trying to arrange them in a manner that would prevent further damage. Even the seams of the box, which were now split completely apart, were taped so poorly as to leave one inch gaps for the books to shift around even further while in transit. Bent and damaged covers and filthy books was the result of their poor package handling skills.

Furthermore, not one person stood up to take responsibility for their mistake. If that was one of my people and they tried to cover this up and not display the honesty of admitting fault and offering an apology then I would fire them on the spot! Not the post office. They just say, "It's not our problem. You should have bought insurance." What I should have done was to pay the extra money to have a respectable company, one that actually cares about its deliveries ship these to me. Well, I won't be making that mistake a second time and I'll be looking for alternative delivery methods at every opportunity! I'M Pat ** and I swear to the authenticity of this report!

So, basically, they are committing fraud by charging you for services they are not providing and you have no recourse as a consumer. If I had paid by credit card, I could file a dispute with the credit card company, but I paid cash so my options are limited, but I will not stop until I get some sort of satisfaction out of this. He told me after I had gone there, with confirmation tracking of the package and arrival of the said package, and that it left the post office on Feb. 21 at 3:29 in the afternoon, and that there was nothing he could do. I don’t feel it’s right that my package was given to someone else, and that there is nothing he will do about it.

I’m going to ask for complaint form 2016, and also writing a letter to the editor. Maybe this fictitious daughter of mine will return the package. I have no idea if this person went into my mailbox, or if the slip was delivered to the wrong address. I zoomed into my house residence to fetch the second letter which I wanted to put on the outside pin clip to notify me when the postman came.

When I looked back into the box, the Kraft payment envelope was snatched. But I must get the doctor's confirmation not anyone else by jeopardy. I am worried about my insurance information inside getting in the hands of criminal-minded people. Is a bite chance that my ability to transport has concluded a magical display of getting to the post office or like a mail man really did zoom by and forget to give us outgoing mail? I hate blaming Mary but she has been on my tail, perches at the stairs and monitors the living room if people come to her new camp. She has the back house. I am just baffled and want the doctor who I called to confirm if anyone like Karl ** the landlord has dropped it off or like secured it by bring it to the post office. To me, it's personal and criminal and a police if you say there was no pick up at 12:40-12:48 then do some detective work.

Sure not wanting to draw attention to my housing, it is so comfortable and the assumed guilt and responsibility is so great . But so is losing money, respect and my rights to be protected. Important people don't get too hotty and just open all your mail. I could not make it to my post office today on foot and will let this serve a lesson to never take shortcuts. But why can't I just use this mail box and have accountability? Please forward to the postman, then police if it raises an eyebrow.

I called the help line to assist me in ordering prepaid postage supplies. I wanted a small videotape-sized box with postage pre-paid. The agent walked me through the ordering process. I checked the box for 5 small prepaid boxes and was charged $11.95 plus $7.95 S&H. I received the small boxes, but they did not have the postage attached and they were not stamped. When I called to see what happened, I was disconnected twice. When I finally spoke to an agent who could help, he explained that the $20.00 was for the 5 small boxes alone. UPS and FedEx both dispense supplies at no charge. The USPS site also offers free shipping supplies. Why was I charged such a large amount for 5 small cardboard boxes? Why didn't the agent know his business? No wonder the USPS is going broke. I personally will never ship with them again.

Upon having a key placed in our mail box to open the adjoining locker, we found the locker open, unlocked and our mail and packages missing. We called our local Folsom post office reporting the finding. We spoke with two employees there who were tracking down our personal mail carrier to get more information of what he had left in our box and when. When I phoned back and talked with a man at the Folsom post office, he told me our carrier had indeed put our mail and two packages in a locker at our mail station on Downieville St., El Dorado Hills, CA. He told us that there had been several break-ins in our area and I should make this complaint in writing to you.

The following day, we saw our mail carrier and he confirmed what he had delivered to our locker box: two packages and other mail. He also told us there had been break-in of the locker and mail boxes in our area as well as in other near by areas. Nothing seems to be resolved about the break-ins. As directed by the man on the phone at Folsom post office, we left a hand written note, signed with my signature, that any packages received by the post office with our name and address is to be placed on the front door of our home. I did track down the source of one package, but as of this time I do not know who the second package was from. It’s very disappointing, to say the least! Theft is just lousy.

There have been 4-5 incidents (that I know of but possibly many more) over the past three years in which the US Postal service has "returned to sender claiming the address was incorrect" pieces of mail that were correctly addressed. Some of these have been cheques, critical mortgage notices or tax documents. This is unacceptable. The PO from which this mail comes is at ** Clovis, CA.

December 27th 2011, I received a damaged package. Instead of filing a claim through eBay or PayPal, I decided to rely on the USPS insurance the seller has bought for the package. That has been one of the biggest mistakes of my life. It’s been almost two months since the claim has been in process. My local post office has mailed the damage report twice to the accounting department and they keep saying they haven't received it. The seller stopped communicating with me because he knows the time to file a claim through eBay or PayPal and/or leaving a negative feedback is past due. They USPS accounting department has proven their incompetency and unwillingness to solve the situation, so I will no longer deal with the USPS. I'd rather pay more with the private companies and have a better service than to deal with USPS ever again.

If I didn't pick it up on time, I probably will never see the money. The first time, he/she delivered the check to my neighbor and the second time he put it on another neighbor’s mail box. I got the check within a month because the neighbor was on vacation. Please, I just don't know what I should do about it. I feel that my complaints to the post office are not really working.

I have a business that relies on having a correct postmark date for receiving mail (weekly) from customers. Today, I received 2 pieces of mail from the Pittsburgh, Pa. distribution center that have a postmark date of March 8, 2012 at 1 pm. When I picked up my mail, it was 9:45 am on March 8, 2012. I am not sure how a distribution center was able to future postmark mail. I received approximately 45 other pieces of mail that same day from the same distribution center as I have every week of the year for 10 years and I never have seen this problem. There were many other problems, but I never had to worry that the postmark dates from a distribution center could be an entire day off. I called the USPS customer service center, hoping that they would look into it and make sure that the distribution center was at the least corrected on their mistake, but all I got was the normal excuses: "The postmark date is only an estimate of when the mail is at the distribution center." So they can estimate my mail to be postmarked for the future and this is ok? I am extremely frustrated with the downward spiral of the USPS mailing system.

On two separate occasions, I ordered CDs from Amazon.com. I used their tracking service online, which showed first delivery was made. When I didn't receive, I called them and they replaced the item. It arrived the next day. On second occasion, the same thing happened. The only difference was the Postal Service said they left a notice. I never saw it. I then went to the office Crittendon Street and asked about my package. That was after I called on two different occasions and was told someone would get back to me and they never did. I went to the office and they looked at the back for my package. It was never found and my mail carrier happened to be in the post office at the time. She said she would look into it. I, to this date, have not heard from her. I subsequently called Amazon and asked for a credit. What leaves me cold is I can not rely on your service and will have to use FedEx and pay more. I believe these items were stolen.

I have no idea if the package arrived. If it did arrive, the postal employee did not scan it as he/she was supposed to do. If it is lost, I need to know so I can resend it. The recipient can't tell me if it arrived because it's an application and they received hundreds of them.

I am angry that I paid for a service I did not receive. I am angry that I have spent about 10 hours trying to find out what happened to my package. I am angry that although a Redwood City postal employee escalated my issue to Theresa **, manager of the Consumer Affairs Dept, on 3/1/12, I have not heard back from her. I would like for someone to confirm either that my package was delivered or was not delivered ASAP and I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of sending it with delivery confirmation. He leaves them and when I confront him, he always says that he didn't get a pickup request. Or if I happen to see him the day of the pickup, he scrutinizes the pickup by trying to say the number of items is incorrect, or any excuse he can imagine. Why do you offer a service that it is so difficult for me to use?

I called up the 800 for the USPS and they told me to go back to the post office and to fill out a form call PS Form 6401. So I called the post office up to see if they have that form so I can go fill it out. The guy on the phone told me that he didn't have that form. All I would like to see out of this is for the $100 money order to be replaced since it did get damaged during the mailing proses. It's the post office fault it got damaged. First off, I want to say this has never happened and I have never thought this could have happened. I have never had to make a complaint against my Columbus, OH BMEU. They have never had this problem before but I am taking on more clients that will be doing more presorted first class mail and I have to lodge a complaint to make sure this does not happen again. My business sent a mailing to the Columbus, OH BMEU. It failed Merlin and it took the BMEU four days to call me. They said that they had called my business at 10 pm on Friday, March the 2nd and left no voicemail for us.

Then it took them until 3 pm on Tuesday, March 6th. This mail is bills for a hospital we do. They are extremely time sensitive. I have been talking to the dock supervisor and have found out what happened was that employees are not doing what they are supposed to be doing. I have been told by the dock supervisor that the dock workers on Saturday did not do the call backs on Saturday and then the dock workers and supervisors did not check on this either. I accepted the apology that I received but this does me no good. I have talked to the regional supervisor as well and understand that she is putting in more safeguards so this does not happen again but again this does me no good. I have never had any real reason to be upset at the post office but this is hopefully the only time I have to. I have always been able to say nothing but good things about BMEU and will still be that way but I just do not know right now.
