I was trying to access the USPS change of address site. I clicked on a website that looked like it. The forms are almost identical. There was a disclaimer with very small print. The USPS has similar disclaimers. I put my ATM card # in. The USPS charges $1. This company charged $19.95. I tried to cancel service immediately but emails and multiple calls have not received a response. No one answers when I call customer service. I just want to cancel. I'm worried this is a fraudulent company but I am not sure. They have my card #! Please help.

We moved to this location 5 years ago as of December 2012. We have had numerous occasions where our mail was delivered to our neighbors instead of our box, their mail delivered to us and on several occasions, found mail damaged and scattered in the field because the driver did not take the time to properly close the box. We have no idea how much mail we have lost or was opened and/or disposed of by people we do not know. I have called the local post office 2 or 3 times and they have either excused away the irresponsibility of the drivers or made empty promises to deal with it. This brings me to today's issue.
The driver pulls up to our box and places some mail in it, then begins to pull away, only to back up and add something to our box that he apparently overlooked. It isn't long before he is heading back the same direction he just came from (I feel safe in assuming, to deliver more overlooked mail), then back by our house again. I really have tried over the last several years to put faith back into the postal service, but after today, that won't happen. I don't know these people personally and I can only speak for their lack of professionalism in dealing with the mail. I have nothing personally against them, but if you cannot find the motivation or interest in doing a professional job, it's time to give it up.
As I have told the local office, all we want is to get the mail we should, in the condition we should, when we should. I am looking at ways of not having to deal with the postal service any more than I have to, if at all, because I cannot trust them.

The USPS has become the most incompetent and worthless shipping service out there. It's just pathetic - I'm a commercial shipper and send an enormous amount of sold goods via USPS (or rather did, never again. I'm done with these incompetent clowns). One package after another was going to the wrong side of the country, misdelivered and my favorite - I have no less than 4 packages in the past 90 days that have shown as scanned into the system as "received" by USPS and then have just disappeared into thin air after going through the Tampa, FL PDC never to be seen. Their response? We don't guarantee delivery when you use the USPS. What?!
I paid them to do a job and they can just do whatever they please and then basically tell me to go screw myself, that it's not their problem they lost, stole or misdelivered something? Fine. Hell will freeze before they get another ** dime from my company. It's UPS only from here on out and the government is correct in not giving this bunch of incompetent fools a dime until they learn how to do their jobs correctly.

I work for the York State Health Center, York, PA which closes at 4:30. The carrier repeatedly arrives at 4:30 or afterwards. I have told him we close at 4:30 and stated if he would not take breaks, he would be there on time. Our mail needs to be picked up daily. The previous carrier always was there mid-afternoon. It happened again on Monday, August 27, 2012. I cannot get through on any phone number given.

There are several mailmen who deliver mail to my house, but one mailman, a Vietnamese mailman, in particular refused to deliver my mail whenever he is on the route. Two days ago, he asked my 7-year old, in the front yard playing, if my brother has moved out of my property since my brother's name was on the address. I was in the house. He could have come in and asked. If my monthly bills which are paid by my brother don't come in the next couple of days, and we end up getting a fine for late fee payments, I will sue the Postal Service as well as the mailman who refused to deliver my monthly payment bills.

We live in 63125 zip code and the regular delivery person who must be 70 years old never gets the mail on a regular time and a lot of the time gets other people's mail in our box and I have to deliver the mail to them and the same thing happens in return. Also the time ranges from 12 noon to 6:30 at night, but when the lady that fills in for a couple of days when he is off always has the mail here between 12 noon to 2 pm in the afternoon. So why can't the regular one do the same? My suggestion is for the mail to be delivered only 3 days a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday.

This is an ongoing situation regarding my carrier with the US postal service. Mail has been improperly delivered/not received for an extended period of time. I have now filed 4 complaints on the mail carrier where no action has been taken. Reference the latest incident, I had ordered merchandise from two separate merchants. The tracking on the packages when checked online read that they had been delivered. The packages were not delivered to my mailbox, nor were they placed in the community lock boxes for larger packages. A complaint was filed for this incident as well and thus far, no action has been taken. The supervisors are refusing to return my calls nor has restitution been offered for my lost packages.

A postman who works in our area is always in bad mood. He never says hi even when you tell him hi. He never replays you back. He never smiles. He always has serious and mad face, always. I've seen him like that already for three years. My mother always tells him hello but he never replies back, never. Here is my big issue. On August 25, 2012 at 1 pm, the postman rang a bell in my door. I keep my door open half way in this hot season. I wasn't dressed and I shouted, "One second.” I put my shorts on and went to see who it was. I have long corridor/hallway, so while I was walking to a door through the hallway, I saw the postman outside and he saw that I was coming. While I was in my hallway coming towards him, he threw the parcel in my apartment and went out. He threw it like throwing garbage on the street. He couldn't wait 5 seconds to hand me the parcel or leave it by the door?! He wasn't even waiting at the door 20 seconds.
After that, I went to talk to him about his disrespectful act. I told him to explain to me why he threw the parcel at my apartment. Does he think it’s okay to do so? Why didn't he wait 3 seconds while I was walking towards him to take my parcel? Why did he throw the parcel in my hallway? Why didn't he hand it to me or why didn't he leave it by the door?! He didn't apologize or even said sorry. He told me that he did me a favor of waiting me 5 seconds at the door. He said he could've just written a note, so I would have to go to post office to pick up my parcel. He threatened me that he will never ever give me a parcel and will always put notes, so I will have to go to main post office. He said that he won't ring my bell and will just leave notes. I would like this guy to be punished or even fired. He doesn't respect his job and his customers. Such person doesn't have to work in the postal service. He acts disrespectful and has very bad attitude. He can’t interact with customers. He is not friendly and doesn't have any communication skills.
He said he did me a favor and threw the box in my apartment. Is it a favor?! He saw that my door was open. He heard that I shout one second and then he saw me coming. He is always aggressive. He doesn't want to handle parcels direct to the customers. I asked his name but he refused to tell me. So, I don't know his name. The postman is an Asian guy. I think his age is around 45. If he doesn't like his job, he should quit. I don't want to see such postman working in my neighborhood. He makes good money, had good benefits and had easy job, so he has to like his job and know how to deal with customers in nice and polite way. I want to make sure that he will deliver all mails and parcels to me in the future if he still will be working in my area. I worry about it because as I've been told that he won't do so. He doesn't want to give me good service. He wants me to go to main postal office to pick up my parcels. I think it's good article for news. My friend works as a journalist so I will talk to her about it too. Thanks.

He told me since no one called me, I have to contact Consumer Affairs in Phoenix. What? Why does a 3rd party have to get involved in a simple address change and mail delivery? Has this country actually gotten this stupid? I need my mail, it's close to the end of the month and I have bills I need to pay before the first. Our mail delivery is a series of absurdities. What happened? Very poor service. Worse people skills! Absurdity #1: We live 150-175 feet from the mail boxes in a nice town home complex and yet we're told that large packages cannot be brought to and/or left at our front door, even though I'm house bound and only leave the house once every two to three months. Today, again, I left the front door open from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm and my large package was returned to the post office instead of being delivered to me! Geez, I'm disabled. Cut me some slack. I put a note in the mailbox asking to please bring large packages to my door!
Absurdity #2: A postal supervisor lied to my wife about DMM policy on the matter and then, refused to tell my wife where she could find the twisted version of policy that said supervisor was pushing. I read the DMM twice last night. The policy, as stated by the supervisor, does not exist in the DMM. DMM 2.1.2 does seem to suggest however that some delivery alterations may be made for significantly handicapped individuals. I have socks and glove neuropathy, pressure sores on my feet, cataracts that currently leave me near legally blind and other lesser ailments that haunt my days. I am also on Social Security and can't really afford extra gas money/etc. for unneeded trips to the post office by my wife's vehicle. I need my large packages delivered to my open door not misdirected back to the post office due to the twisted policies of this supervisor.
This postal supervisor has abysmal people skills and should be reassigned away from the public exposure she currently has. She also needs a refresher course in Public Servant 101. Honey, if you don't like your job then get another one. Don't take it out on customers! Consequences? Once again, my dear wife has to waste her time/gas/etc. as she trudges to the post office tomorrow to pick up my misdirected large package. This scenario has played out several times and one time the carrier didn't even leave the little yellow pick up notice for us! USPS, you should be thoroughly ashamed of how far your service standards have fallen in some areas!

Just an advice to anyone who is sending international mail out, "Don't use USPS." I repeat, don't use USPS. They are responsible for your mail up to the borders of USA. The rest of it, God knows what they use to transport to the international destination. And if with the blessing of God it gets to the destination country, it is handed over to the local postal service, which delivers it for them. So if you are sending it to a country where postal service is unreliable, you are basically screwed. And these idiots in USPS will not accept any responsibility for it, and remember, they don't tell you this upfront when you send your mail.
I sent out an international mail to Asia using their so-called express service, which guarantees delivery in 3-5 days. After 2 weeks, it has not reached its destination point. When I called USPS to ask "Where is my mail right now," they didn't know. The only thing they knew was that it has left NY. I called the host country postal service, and they said it has not reached them at all. Both sides didn't know where the mail was. USPS is blaming it on the host country, and the host country is saying it becomes our responsibility once it reaches our borders. (I think the host country is right.)
In the end, these idiots leave you all alone. I was thinking using USPS is the right way not only for me, but it saves the jobs of Americans. Now I hope they go to the deepest part of the hell. Something else should replace these liars, these untrustworthy and unreliable idiots. My advice is use UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. They have their own processing facilities in each country and million times more reliable than USPS.

On around late May or early June, I returned an authorized package containing a Toshiba DVD recorder (DR430KU, black) to the seller at One Stop Shop located at 1505 Newton St., Los Angeles, California 90021-2727 from the New York, NY 10025-9998. It was never delivered. A few days later, I received a letter from the post office stating "If you are receiving this Postal Service Form 3760, a piece of mail you sent or was being sent to you has been received at the Seattle Network Distribution Center (NDC) empty." After many calls with no results, it seems to me that on one is properly investigating this situation or returning any of my calls for an update. And as a result, the seller will not issue a refund until they have received their package.

I called the Sturtevant, WI location after my package was mysteriously lost in transition between UPS and USPS. After calling UPS to try and locate it (very friendly, I might add), they recommended I call the post office. I called the post office. The lady answered the phone and hardly let me finish my sentence before demanding to know my address. I told her, and again, she didn't even let me finish before saying, "We don't deliver there!" I said in response, "That's what the UPS site is telling me, and I'm just trying to figure out what happened to my package." She very snottily replied, "I'm sure you are, and that tone won't get you anywhere. I deal with this stuff all the time, you're nothing new." I did not have any sort of tone whatsoever. I was bubbly but I had a normal, conversational tone. I said, "Excuse you, I don't have a tone, but I do now. Someone has my $100 package, and I just want to know what is going on."
Before I could finish, she hung up on me. I called back immediately and told her to put her supervisor on the phone; again, same thing. I could hardly get through my sentence before she cut me off and demanded to know my address. She explained the situation better, without hanging up on me, but wasn't exactly friendly. She quickly tried to hang up with me before I could explain to her why I had asked for a supervisor to begin with. After I told her how I didn't appreciate being hung up on or talked to in the way I did, she barely showed interest saying, "I'll take care of it appropriately." She didn't even let me tell her who I had spoken with, who gave me the poor service.
As most people on here have stated, the USPS isn't having financial issues because of the economy and the internet. They're having financial issues because people like the ones at the Sturtevant, WI location treat their customers like they don't need them.

I was charged restocking fee and shipping, $41. A refund of $107 was made to my Visa. I contacted the sender and a second order was made for the same amount. I told them to send it to my address above. They mailed the package again and it was returned for the same reason. I spoke to the sender and they said the address was okay. I talked to the Ceiba Post Office and they tell me that the address is too long and maybe something was omitted. Case was filed with USPS regarding a very irate and belligerent postal carrier on 8-20-12. I was to receive a call regarding the case yesterday. I did not get a call and had to call again today. We have reported this carrier on 2 other occasions directly to his supervisor at the Sierra Adobe Station over the last year. The supervisor stated, "James was overworked" as the first reason for his behavior in which he yelled at my receptionist. On the second occasion, the supervisor stated that he was probably having a bad day when we returned all the mail that he delivered to us that was addressed to another business. He again yelled at our receptionist that it wasn't his problem and to keep it - she refused.
Yesterday, however, was unacceptable and a little intimidating. He banged and banged on our front door as he had 2 packages to deliver. He refused to acknowledge we had said, "Hello," and asked if they were, indeed, our packages. He refused to answer or even look up at the employees at the counter. He jumped in his truck and whipped out towards the road. I took a package off the counter which was not addressed to us out the front door and yelled for him to stop. He jumped out of the truck which was halfway in the road and yelled from the street, "It is your package - take it!" My reply was, "No it is not and it's your job to take it back." I then asked his last name which he promptly covered on his badge - his first name is James.
This is the 3rd time he has been rude, unprofessional and actually a little off the deep end and I do not want an incident at my business. His supervisor seems to cover for him and takes no action. Nothing was done on our claim again yesterday. This carrier does not belong in a "public service position" and I am concerned about our package and mail service he may not provide to us at this point. I do not understand why his supervisor is not taking any action. I am positive he has this poor attitude with other business delivery locations as well.

I fastened a letter to the front of my mailbox for pick up. When the substitute mail carrier came by, he did not pick it up. I called out, "You missed a pickup." He walked back and said, "We aren't required to pick up letters if we don't have any mail to deliver to the address." I said, "Our regular mailman always does," and he responded "I'll call my supervisor and he will tell you." He called his supervisor, who politely confirmed that is what the manual says. This shows why the postal service is in financial trouble. They have forgotten what a customer is. Their rules don't make sense. How do I know whether I will have mail coming to know whether to put mail out to be picked up? I certainly don't need a postal employee being rude to me. I have contacted Senator Tom Coburn and urged him to vote against pouring any more money into this broken system. If you keep treating your customers like this, eventually we will convince our representatives to award contracts to private companies to deliver the mail.

Every time I try to have something shipped to my apartment, it never makes it to me. Last week, I had to order my work uniforms online because my work schedule is too busy and I don't have time to go buy them. I ordered them and they were originally shipped through FedEx Smart Post. What happens is FedEx will ship the order to your city but instead of delivering the package to your home, they drop it off at your local post office and they will deliver it to you.
My package was dropped off at my local post office but the order never made it to me. The tracking history indicates that my post office delivered it to me, but I never received it. The mailman actually indicated that they dropped it off at a certain time. This is the seventh time this has happened to me. The first time I complained to my post office, they said that at that time, they didn't have a dedicated mailman for our route and because of that, no other postal employee wanted it. So the post office was dividing the mail for our route among the employees.
The post office said that they were short staffed and that's why this was happening. They were receiving my packages, holding them for a week and importing a delivery date in the system. So, it showed that it was delivered to me but it would still be at the post office. I have filed so many complaints with the postal inspector but nothing is ever done. The only thing the post office says to me is that they have spoken with the carriers and they delivered the packages - so it must be someone in my building. That's it. Never their fault. I never get any packages, ever!

I was instructed to mail a copy of the affidavit to the defendant and to bring it back to the courthouse, then return the receipt and a copy of the affidavit so they have proof that the defendant received the affidavit. The package arrived at the Arlington post office at 3:54 on June 19, 2012 and that's the last anyone has seen the package.
A month went by and I still didn't get a return receipt or any help from the post office. I talked to at least four supervisors about this matter with the same results, nothing. What is resolution? How long does that take? The representative doesn't know! Maybe they find the parcel, maybe they refund the money.
The entire process if they refund due to lost item could take as long as 60 days. On 8/11/12, I called the post office customer service department at 10:45am and spoke with Rebecca who was just as surprised as I was that my package did not make to its destination. So, she stated she would investigate the situation and she gave me a case **. She stated I should receive a call back and if my package was lost, I could still get my money from the money order I bought back. It was never ever mentioned that I would have to pay a fee to get my money that they lost!
So imagine my surprise when I called the post office again on 8/14/12 to inquire about the result of my package, only to find out that it was indeed lost at the sorting facility. And in order to get my money back, I would have to pay a fee of approximately $5.00 and fill out a form to launch an investigation and then when they are satisfied. Then, I will get $80.00 back not including the $1.15 for buying the darn money order or the $5.00 for the investigation fee, for them to tell me that they did actually lose my package. This is outrageous! I should not only get my $80.00 for the money order, but I should get the $1.15 money order which costs $5.00 for investigation fee and the damn $7.60 for the certified return receipt cost!

I have had trouble with the Oakland, TN (38060) Post Office refusing to send packages at Media Mail pricing for several years. They will always make an excuse such as "if the package contains an invoice, it does not qualify," or "if the package contains anything besides a book, it does not qualify." Yesterday, I tried to send 2 qualifying packages containing books and educational software via Media Mail. I was told that software was a computer part and did not qualify. I called USPS today and was told that the packages did, in fact, qualify for Media Mail rates. Also, I try to get them to tell me the lower pricing options on all packages but they refuse. They automatically send the packages via Priority without offering First Class or Parcel Post options. Even if I ask for these prices, they say, "Well, it wouldn't really be any cheaper; that will be $20.50." or whatever my total is.
I am losing money on some shipments when I sell items online because I am only allowed to charge Media Mail rates in certain categories by the online stores such as Amazon and eBay, but the Post Office is refusing to allow me to ship under those terms. They even refuse to ship as anything but Priority. Please help me resolve this issue. The USPS federal office instructed me to contact you.

The person in charge at the Crosby Post Office called and and said the mail person would get talked to but you need to know that the person called was very rude. I have been having issues with my postal carrier and have tried numerous times to get assistance from the employees directly at the post office. Our carrier continuously crams our mail into our mailbox. I am having to pry out my mail, uncrumple my mail or it is ripped open from being shoved in. I pick up my mail daily as agreed with the post office; however, the poor service has continued. I spoke with Wanda at one point and she was "going to come out the next day and look at the mailboxes" and call me back. She never did. I proceeded to go into the post office and asked for Wanda. She came out just enough to tell the clerk at the front that she was busy, right in front of me. The clerks are rude and I am getting no help. Today I happened to pry out the mail because it was locked into the postal worker's opening which resulted in me slamming my wrist against the bottom of the box yanking out the mail.

On 8-10-2012, my sister mailed a phone to me via express mail next day delivery from Glendora, California. My job is dependent on this phone, so it was important I receive it the next day. I received nothing the next day and thought that since my sister sent it late in the day on her end, it may have been held back till Monday. Well, I missed work today, Monday the 13th, again waiting for the carrier. At 6pm I called my sister from another phone and asked her to go the post office she sent it from and see what was going on. I couldn't believe my ears. She told me that the clerk told her the carrier came the next day on the 11th, and that since there was no receptacle, she took the phone back to the annex. Okay, I wish I could post a picture of the mailbox in front of the huge house where I rent a room.
Since there are 8 people who live here, the landlord has an extra sized mailbox in front of the house entrance which is right next to the road. If that's not a receptacle, I don't know what is. Secondly, I always thought that if they couldn't find someone to answer the door, then they left a note saying so and where to pick it up. My blood is boiling now thinking how freaking inept this carrier is. The mailbox receptacle is about 3 times the size of a regular one, so I don't know what the problem was. Thirdly, over half of the people at this house don't work, so there is always someone here, at least 3 to 5 people. There is a screen door on the front side of the house the carrier could've opened and entered and knocked on some doors, or, walked to the end of the hall and would've seen a big pool with people in it. There's always at least two or 3 people in the pool area. Or, he/she could've gone to the front door to the main entrance is which the carrier could've rung the bell.
In either case, the carrier should've left a note in the mail receptacle where the whole house gets mail on a daily basis, a lot of mail. Now, I have to wake up early in the morning tomorrow so I can get to the annex before the carrier leaves the annex. But this is what I don't get. My sister said that they will attempt to deliver it 5 more times before they send it back. Well, how the heck are they going to deliver it again when there is supposedly no freaking receptacle, which just happens to be 3 times the size of a normal one? Does the landlord need to put a 12 foot high neon flashing arrow pointing to the box? I just want to thank the inept carrier for making me lose money because I couldn't work without a cell phone. Thanks **! Thanks a lot. How these people made it this far in life is beyond me.

At least once a month, occasionally once a week, I find mail for another unit in my mail box. It creates difficulties for me and others when mail is delayed, left on my patio to be wet by the sprinklers or lost due to being left at my front door or misdirected to people who, I suppose, throw it away rather than attempt to forward it. I have taken the time to have my name removed from the mailing lists for junk mail. The mail box is small, resulting in the tearing of magazines and I need to search carefully each time for legitimate mail and statements lost in the pages of junk mail that only add to my trash.
I have asked many times for the post office to not add junk mail, and posted a notice in my mail box to not include junk mail. This junk mail does not have my address on it so it was included at the post office. They have told me they are paid to add it, after telling me I had to get my junk mail discontinued at the original source. The errors over the years are endless, misdirected mail/credit card statements, a box of checks delivered to the wrong address, left on my stoop by the neighbor who received them.
Three times in the past years, I have received a note to go to the post office to sign for something. Then, I was told there was nothing for me when I arrive (I still wonder what valuable or important mail might have been lost or stolen in the post office and, since the post office hours underlap my work hours, I have to take time off work to pick the important mail up that was not there). Once showing my ID, the letter was not for me and the post person argued with me trying to force me to take it. We had to call in the supervisor to sort it out.
A Christmas package sent to my father in Nevada in November was returned in April (no refund for part of the postage). He said he never had a note to pick it up which I believe since I have had the same experience at work. (Torrance, every fifth delivery to work has to be traced down, left with a neighboring business, no note left for me as to where to collect it, time wasted trying to track it down after days of waiting for a needed product). Most of the time, mail arrives as planned, but there have been some stellar errors. I have complained to the post offices and to the main offices over the years. I see no improvement.

The package was for two German boys returning home. It was sent in plenty of time but they left before it arrived and we had to send the package to Germany at extra cost. We didn't like spending the extra money for shipping to Germany, but we were really irritated that the Post Office Dept. did not want to find out why the error happened so that the same error will not happen again and again and again. I was expecting a time-sensitive piece of mail and if I would have been notified, I would have gone to the post office to pick it up. I understand the policy to not deliver to a mailbox that is too full, but I missed an important deadline because a specific piece of mail was being held at the post office without my knowledge. They are a quasi-agency of the federal government. They have a clause passed by Congress that provides that they cannot be held liable for any condition of your items. They charge you to deliver. Yes, that is true. I found that out the hard way. Unless you insure it, they can destroy, lose, damage, and yes, even steal it from you. And there is nothing you can do. They have an insurance program that is a frigging joke as well. Any other carrier is controlled by an authority issued by the Feds for commercial transportation companies that requires them to have insurance and pay for damage of items in their care, custody, and control. That is under the Motor Carriers Act. They are exempt from this.

Terrible customer service: Terry of the Ocean Pines Maryland Post Office had a snide attitude. I came in looking to get information to get a new key for my post box as I had lost mine. I was met with the cost of $20, which in and of itself is ridiculous. The post office should hold a spare set for each resident for just this type of thing. Ultimately, it was not the $20 that bothered me, but the way in which Terry spoke to me. It was condescending with undertones of being a complete smart ass. I did a little snooping around, speaking to the employees at that office; and apparently, Ms. Terry is new and not thought of in a very high regard amongst the employees either.
It would be my recommendation that she be demoted and even relieved of her "supervisory" duties, as she obviously has no people skills. Being customers of the post office, she needs to realize that we pay her salary and at the very least she owes me an apology. After asking about whom to call to put in a complaint, I was directed to two phone numbers on a blackboard upon the entrance of the post office. I called both of them and left messages. This afternoon, I got a call from Terry saying that she received notification that there was a complaint about herself. She is the last person I want handling the complaint. What a joke. The supervisor of the branch is going to handle her own customer complaint? I don't think so.

I waited 2 days for the mailman to ring my apartment bell to inform me to come downstairs and collect my toddler daughter's birthday package from family. Two days went by, the package should have been there by then. I received a notice in the mail saying that they made an attempt but there was no answer at the door at 9 am, which was a complete fabrication because I had actually been outside speaking with a neighbor from 8:45 am to a little after 10 am, and no mailman was seen! Okay, so that's the 1st fabrication of information!
I took the pink slip to the Post office at 1132 Southern Blvd. Bronx, NY 10459-9998 and the window employee asked for my ID. I presented it to her. She said, "Well, here it says another name on the pink slip." I explained to her that that is my toddler child's name, my apartment. She said, "Well, you have to bring in her birth certificate to prove that." I said, "Excuse me?" She said, "Yes, you have to prove that she is a child, then we can give you the package." I presented to her my daughter's social security card and also her insurance card right on the spot, and tell her, "Look, she's my child, and can't you scan my ID and log me in as the recipient of the package and if anything you know my information." She said, "Nope." I then requested to speak with the manager because not only is this inconvenient, the delivery worker did not even ring my home. He just slipped the form into my mailbox, with no effort to deliver the package. She said, "Okay but the manager is just going to tell you the same thing."
The manager came, he said, "Oh, because the name is different, we cannot give it to you. You have to bring her birth certificate." I presented to him all the forms of identification that were mine, also anything that a parent would have of their child's info in my wallet. He said, "No, we are just going to keep going in circles here. So bring the birth certificate, that's the only way." I told him, "Okay, since you seem like you don't want to help me, I will have my husband come and bring the birth certificate and maybe you can help him out." And I left. My husband went 10-15 minutes later with the birth certificate and his state ID to retrieve the package. He gave the lady his ID plus the birth certificate, she made a confused face and roughly slid the forms back under the window and went, "I'm not taking you." He's like, "Excuse me? I need my package please. Thank you." She said, "This is federal property and I don't have to service you if I don't want to."
My husband then requested to speak with the manager. The manager goes," Oh no, we're not serving you. Too bad, go somewhere else, we are on federal property and we don't have to give you anything if we don't want to!" My husband waited around repeatedly asking them to please just give him our package so we can go along with our day. They continued to refuse and not assist to get the package. My husband then asked the manager for his name while he was calling the Post Office Customer Service while he was there but the manager refused to give his information and the manager then went to the back and just left my husband there waiting with no answers and no package. Next thing you know, Cops pulled up. They told my husband that he needs to leave. He explained to them his side of the story. The workers were yelling that "this is federal property and you can't be here," and my husband said, "Well, if that's the case then why did he call the cops? They cannot do much, it would then be a federal police officer that could navigate this issue."
The cops agreed that they actually cannot do anything in this situation. Then the manager came out, they asked him why did he call the cops and why did he refuse to give his name. He said he didn't have to do anything he didn't want to do and he didn't want to give his name and they forced him to give his name and he just said ** and that he was going to ship the package back to Florida where it came from and whoever sent it was going to have to "put the right name on it next time" and that we were never getting this package. The cops proceeded to try to calm the manager down and my husband then proceeded to leave and we called the customer service line to complain. They verified that the workers there along with the manager indeed had no right to withhold a customer's package especially after we presented the birth certificate as they requested.
It was very dramatic and unnecessary, the whole situation. She should have gotten down off of her lazy behind, got the package slid it through the door and that's it, end of story. Why the need to overreact to the issue. And why the need to call the cops just because you felt a certain type of way about doing your duties as an employee? Their law states that an individual is actually allowed to sue them if the employee carries out negligent acts or malicious handling or discriminatory service while under the jurisdiction of being an active employee at their agency of which he did all of those things. As of right now, we are still without the package and trying to retrieve it and see where this is going to go since all of this just happened yesterday!

Well it’s lost again, a package of mine that is! For the last 3 years, I'm missing on average 2 to 3 packages per year from eBay. USPS's Track & Confirm is broken as well. When I actually get my packages in hand, Track & Confirm is still reading it’s 3 states away or a day's travel. My latest saga is that Track & Confirm reads my package was delivered on 7/30/12 at 3:16pm. Because of "Delivered" packages issues I had, I asked my sister to retrieve it for me. She waited for the carrier to sort through his things and what do you know... nothing! But Track & Confirm had already confirmed it as delivered... drum roll... before the joker even arrived.
Yes! He didn't arrive until about 3:40pm or 3:42pm according to sis. How is that possible? I'll tell you how. USPS is full of crap, **, and whatever else you would like to add to the mix. I've requested from the eBay sellers to figure how much it would be to ship packages using other carriers. Most of the time they do, except this time it was sent before the email was either received or read. All it takes is one folly with USPS. Now, I'm stuck with a loss of money and item. Not happy or satisfied. When I called Charles at the local post office, he stuck with what the screen said, "It was delivered." I said "How do you know?" Can you honestly and wholeheartedly say you know the carrier delivered it? His wonderful reply: "Well, if it says delivered, then that means he delivered it." I knew then to let the call go because it was the same as talking quantum equations to raccoons, a waste of time. Anyways, use USPS at your own will. But if you’re reading this, it’s probably because they got you too.

I moved. Where I was living before, we got our mail delivered between one and three-hour window by the same person who was friendly, helpful, and polite. Where I live now, I have noticed on Saturdays and days I am home, the mail comes anytime between 10 am and 6 pm, and it was delivered by different people. (I have counted over 10 different mail persons). Why? Some of the carriers are friendly and do their job; others seem miserable, are rude, and it sounds like they are going to rip the mailbox right off the house when they deliver the mail. Most of the time, we don't notice when the mail has been delivered. Sometimes, the noise sounds horrible. It can be heard through the whole house. I half expected to find holes in the side of the house and the mailbox on the ground when I go to get the mail. You would think someone dumped a ton of magazines or something in the box, but I go out to find a postcard and a bill. Who knows why there was so much noise?
This brings me to my next complaint. I live in a small town where houses are significantly far apart and well away from the road, but yet we have mailboxes attached to our homes? It is the strangest thing. I remember when we first looked at the house, I made a comment about how long it must take the mail person (mail persons, apparently) to deliver mail. The houses in our neighborhood sit on .4 to .72 (I believe that is the largest) acre lots with the houses smack dab in the middle of the lot. That is a lot of walking. Having mailboxes attached meant we don't get outgoing mail service, which would be fine, if my neighborhood had a drop box. So, I have to waste gas sending out my mail 1-3 times per week, which isn't the end of the world, but it makes me not mind paying for a private postal service, if there was one.
Now in an urban area, I understand there’s no outgoing mail service, but where I live, would it kill them to have us change to curbside mailboxes (which I don't mind paying for, if it meant I would get outgoing mail service!), provide a drop box, or carry around an extra sling and bin for outgoing mail. Sometimes they have been nice enough to take my outgoing mail (just Netflix movies and some bills), but there have been days where I don't get mail delivered, so I have to take my mail to a drop box. There are only about 25 residences on my road (when I say road, I mean road, not an urban street). How much mail could possibly be going out every day? Many neighbors are retired and no longer work. Some neighbors are over 80 years old. Please provide at least a drop box people can walk to. I have suggested this, but nothing was ever done about it.
Other complaints: How many times am I going to send out packages through the local post office or main post office that get lost? How come my Netflix DVDs get to the facility anytime between the next day and 5 days later despite being dropped off at the same two drop boxes every time, when these drop boxes are supposed to get emptied that day or the next day? (I think I have a good guess why this happens.) Mistakes happen, but the amount of mistakes/problems that have happened with the postal service where I moved is beyond ridiculous. And the rudeness and uncaring attitude from many of the workers is uncalled for.
It is not my fault if a package got lost in the mail. Would it kill the woman behind the counter to maybe try and find out what happened to it, instead of just standing there staring at me, like making phone calls and/or checking the computer system is just the hardest task in the world and not her job? I understand the person behind the counter may not have had anything to do with my package being lost, but they are there to help me, aren't they? I’m very, very dissatisfied with their service. I feel bad for the workers who actually do their jobs and are polite. I would rather pay a monthly fee for a private service. With the situation I am in, it would probably end up saving me money. I never understood all the complaints about USPS until I moved. Apparently, if you have good postal service, it might just depend on where you live. Beware when you move! I never had these problems before. I don't understand because I thought they all used the same methods and computer systems.

In February of 2011, on a Saturday, our regular carrier mentioned there had been a dog biting incident in Ventura County. I was sympathetic & concerned. At that time, we had a dog, as did everyone on his route. He also mentioned how he thought we did a great job, making sure our dog did not have access to the front of the house & he never had to worry about her. The very next day, Sunday, we received a visit from Animal Control. They made a point of stopping at only 3 houses, one being ours.
Then on Monday, we did not receive mail delivery. We didn't think anything of it, until 3 days of no delivery. On the fourth day, I stopped the carrier & asked if we had mail, at which time I was informed that we would not be getting home delivery. I immediately contacted the Wake Forest Branch, only to be told that we had a "dog, so there would be no delivery, until the mailbox was moved to curbside". We never received a "warning notice" or letter of concern. Even to this day, we still have not received explanation for this, as our regular carrier stated, he never had a problem with our dog & could not make sense of it either.
He was out on medical leave at the time; therefore, knew nothing about the situation. After several months & numerous attempts to ask for an explanation, we were told, if the mailbox was not moved to curbside, they would "stop delivery for the entire route & return our mail to sender". We even had Carolyn ** & Rudy from the Wake Forest Branch come to our home, to see the layout & show them the dog's confinement & I was home every day, so there was no reason for the concern & I was never informed of a "dog incident".
To date, we have never received verification of any "dog incident" with our dog. Our neighbors were surprised as well, saying they never saw the dog out front without us & leashed. Ms. ** was very rude and, in my opinion, already decided she was not going to approve anything, due to the fact that I, as a consumer, simply asked what anyone would ask & that was, why there was never an inquiry or letter sent informing us of a concern. We were never given an explanation for any of this. So, to keep from causing a problem for the entire route, we moved the box to curbside.
Finally, months later, I got a letter, which I had to pick up, stating we could put our mailbox back in its original "grandfather law" position, if we, got a P. O. Box, forwarded our mail to a different address or got rid of our dog. That being said, we put our box at curbside, reluctantly, because still there was no explanation for any of this. On July 12, 2012, we had to put our dog down due to cancer. I called the Wake Forest Branch that day to inform them & asked that someone return my call to make sure it had been documented.
We put our mailbox in its original spot where it had been since the house was built in 1957. On Monday, the 16th, I called again, because I had not received a return call & wanted to make sure the message had been received. At that time, I spoke with Ms. **, who was, once again, very rude for no reason, & said, "it has to be in writing or we won't approve". As I was on the phone with her, I was explaining this to my husband at the same time, when Ms. ** raised her voice saying, "Excuse me are you talking to me or someone in the household? " As I began to explain to her what I was doing, not trying to be rude to her, she abruptly hung up on me.
At this point, she decided, without further notice, we would not receive mail delivery. I spoke with Tami at the Santa Clara St., Branch, who, to no surprise, decided to stand by Ms. **, then accused me of using profanity, of which I only repeated a statement Ms. ** left our house with, this was the only profanity used. Gloria at Consumer Affairs, of course, was of no assistance either, by upholding the decision of Tami, who now states, "the reason we are demanding the box be put back at curbside is, Carolyn feels Ms. ** has a problem with management & if this is not done before Aug. 6, 2012, we will return to sender". I feel Ms. ** has a personal grudge for some reason, have no idea why, as we don't even know her, only spoke with her in person once, on the phone 3x.
I was also threatened with arrest by one of the employees, when I did nothing but go to the Office to retrieve my mail. We have never understood why any of this began & now what reason these people feel they can justify forcing us to put our box back at curbside. Everyone on our street has their box in the door slot or at their front door, with dogs. I feel that now, it is being handled as a personal issue & not a professional problem, as they also have a copy of the receipt from the vet, proving our dog is gone.
I am only trying to resolve this, as we have complied with all requests, even without prior notification. I would appreciate some type of immediate assistance with this as I don't want to be a victim of someone who feels they can "control" an individual & potentially destroy their livelihood & life, because they have an anger issue. I have never done anything to cause Ms. ** to act in this manner & I now feel she is out to do nothing but cause us "undue stress & anxiety", as she is trying to claim this is the reason she refuses to approve. I'm sorry, but I feel Ms. ** has taken this issue far beyond her authority & has "singled" us out for some unknown reason.
Some of our neighbors are suggesting legal counsel or media, but I feel that is a little extreme, that is why I am sending this to you. If we cannot resolve this & find out why this happened in the first place, I will continue to reach out to anyone that is willing to assist. I am asking that Ms. ** back-off. She has no reason for doing this or treating us in this manner & that she rethink on the location of our box, as we are the only ones she has demanded this be done. I hope it does not come to the point of her returning our mail to sender, as this will cause us serious problems with our household & employment. Please let me know what you are willing to do or can do to get this settled, so we can all go back to living a peaceful existence. Thank you.

I did not receive my paycheck. I was supposed to receive my paycheck from a local park district last Friday. I am a seasonal employee. Direct deposit is not available. I checked with my employer and they sent the check. There have been instances of mail not coming recently. I would not make a formal complaint but things are out of hand. The mail carrier states that they are afraid of dogs. This is even when the dogs are contained in the house. I heard that the mail carrier would not deliver the mail because wild deer were seen in the area. Every neighbor has stated a negative situation with the mail carrier. Can we have Dave back?

Deficiency in customer service and tracking - The shipment (package) I had ordered was mistakenly marked as "delivered" and then promptly was marked as "undelivered" (in error by USPS) by the same postal worker. I called USPS, nobody could tell me the reason it was marked undeliverable, but a case was opened and I was supposed to receive a return call within 1 business day. I never received a phone call and several subsequent return calls to USPS failed to track or even provide the slightest of information on the whereabouts of my package. The item was returned to the seller (Amazon) and now the order has been cancelled. I am extremely upset with USPS and will avoid them at all cost in the future.

I just stood in line for 45 minutes at the Pecos USPS and left without getting service. When I arrived, there was one poor lady behind the counter with two people in line in front of me and at least 5-6 people milling around in the back. When I left 45 minutes later, there were 13 people in line. I am furious! I am not a complainer and have never professionally complained in my 50+ years! This was to pick up a small package.

I have had an ongoing problem with my mail carrier that has begun to escalate. I have lived at my address for almost 8 years. During that time, I have always had dogs and, to my knowledge, there were no complaints regarding my dogs and the mail carrier until recently. I have 3 outside dogs. One is medium size and the other two are ankle biters of less than 20 lbs. The medium size one (Mischief is her name) can climb over our gate so we keep her tethered when she is outside. The other dogs cannot go over or under the gate. Back in March, Mischief got loose and climbed the fence. My neighbor saw her do it and he tried to bring her back. Mischief bit him. While he was at the emergency room, another neighbor down the road called the police. This all happened hours before the mail carrier came. When the mail carrier came, my neighbor was out there showing off his bandage and telling her what happened.
Three days later, I received mail from April ** at my local Post Office informing me that packages that did not fit in my mailbox would no longer be delivered and she thanked me for my cooperation in resolving the issue. Up to this point, my packages had always been hung in a bag on my gate. My resolution was to not allow Mischief to be outside unsupervised and to keep her in the house the rest of the time. I called April to let her know what we were doing. She was rude, refused to listen, and told me that her decision would stand. I spoke with my sister, who is a mail carrier out in Lehigh. She attempted to call the Station Manager at the North Fort Myers Post Office and April answered and told her that he was not available and she could help her. Her tone was curt and again very rude. My sister asked her name and when she told her, my sister responded that no, as she was the problem, she could not help her. My sister then advised me to contact the Post Master.
I sent a letter to the Post Master. In it, I detailed the whole issue. In addition to documentation that not only were they not delivering packages that didn't fit, they were also not delivering some packages that did fit. Subsequent to this, a supervisor named Ron called me. I explained the issue and the measures I had taken and he said he would come out to my neighborhood and investigate. A week later, I received a letter from Ron saying that he determined that the mail carrier needed to be protected from my dogs and he wanted me to sign permission to hang my packages from the mailbox. I refused to sign that because I am of the opinion that if they hang the packages from my mailbox, it is an invitation to steal them.
As a side note, there is a dog running around my neighborhood who looks very similar to my dog. I later found out through my sister that the story the mail carrier told the Post Office is that my dog climbed over the fence and came after her. This is entirely untrue and I feel that had my dog done that, where is the documentation with the Post Office and why were the police not called? Since this all happened, no packages are delivered to my home regardless of size. I had a notice for a package that the Post Office had for a couple of weeks. I was unable to pick it up because I was ill and in the hospital. In addition, my husband had to go out of town because of a death in his family. I went to pick up the package on July 11 and found that there were 3 packages waiting for pickup, two of which would have fit in my mailbox and 2 of which no notice was left.
The next day, I received a notice to pick up the same package I went to pick up the previous day. I walk with a cane. I use oxygen. Getting around is not so easy for me. I feel that, for some reason, my mail carrier has decided to have some sort of vendetta with me. Like I said, until March, there had never been a problem that I had been made aware of and now, I cannot get delivery of any of my packages. I have always been a staunch supporter of the Post Office but recent events have me considering spending extra to have my packages delivered via other means. I have contacted consumer affairs to no avail. As a side note, packages addressed to my husband are always delivered. It is just the ones addressed to me that are not being delivered. You can't tell me the carrier had no vendetta with me.

I have lived in the Riverside area of Buffalo a total of 4 and a half years and never had such problems in my life! I recently (2 months ago) moved to South Buffalo (awesome USPS here). I was supposed to receive a package at my new address and I filled out the appropriate change of address forms (like I have done my whole adult life) and I always hand them in myself in person. The man behind the counter at the Northside Station told me and my husband that it may take 3 weeks. This was done June 1st, 2012. Today is now July 25, 2012. After calling many times to the 800 number and filing multiple complaints, this is the answer from **, the supervisor from Northside Station: that I did not fill out change of address forms or they got damaged during processing and that they have had my package on the mail truck for over a month.
My case numbers for this incident: ** and ** from the 800 number for USPS. I called USPS’ 800 number for the 3rd time and told me to call Consumer Affairs (local area) number at 716-842-4738. After being on hold for 17 minutes, a voice came on and said they were closed. What the hell is wrong with the post office there? I lived on Germain and then on Grote Street for 4 and a half years and almost every day my neighbor brought me my mail. They would never deliver it. My social security checks would come to her house or other neighbors’ houses until I got direct deposit. This is totally unacceptable and uncalled for. When I tried to call Northside Station myself, no one would answer the phone and when I did get a voice mail, it was always full. I would like someone to contact me. Forgive me if there is any spelling or grammatical errors. I am flipping mad!

On 7-3-2012, I put my bills out in my mail box to be picked up by post office mail carrier. They were picked up, but, on 7-23-2012, I received a bill from my dental office telling me they had not received my payment. I called the bank to see if check had gone through; I was told it had not. So at that time, I called the Valley Springs Post Office. A man answered and said he was the postmaster. I explained to him that all my bills had reached their destinations except for my dental bill that is right here in the very town I live in. He started yelling at me and told me that it's wonderful that my other bills had reached their destinations. That means that my dental bill could just be out floating, or that my dentist office really did receive my bill, and just threw it in the garbage can.
Then, I asked him if it could be in a nixie unit somewhere. He got even more rude and asked me where I'd even heard of that terminology. He told me nixie units aren't even in existence any longer. I told him, "That's funny, I just spoke with the San Francisco nixie unit 6 months ago regarding letters to my brother. I had used the wrong zip, and sure enough the letters were there." Anyway, I said, "Well, maybe the bill fell under the seat of the mail carriers' truck." Then, he really exploded, told me that it is impossible.
I told him, "I guess from now on, I will just have to hand deliver my mail here in town and stop buying stamps." He told me that would be a wonderful idea. After speaking with the most rude postmaster ever, I called the 1-800 number and filed a case number to try to find my dental bill that has a check in it. 20 days is way too long for a bill to be, as he says, "floating around." The next day, 7-24-2012, the same man (postmaster) called me and started yelling at me again for filing a case over the dental bill that has yet to be delivered. This man should be fired for the disrespectful treatment of customers. I'm sure I'm not the only person in Valley Springs that has had to deal with this "idiot".

I drop off my packages at the window and wait until 1 of the workers takes the items to the back. When I called USPS, they told me they have no tracking information. I have lost two packages last month. Let me preface this by saying I'm extraordinarily careful about my packages. I make sure the labels are legible and covered with clear packing tape. One was sent the next day that was guaranteed by 3 p.m. It was my son's cell phone that he needs for business. I have called, but I have been put on hold. I talked to an unknown number of people, who repeatedly asked me for the same routing number and deliver the same questions. I tried to track it online, and I signed up for email updates. Yet, it's nothing. To make the long story short, he had to go out and buy a new iPhone. The second package was for my daughter in Hawaii. It contained items worth about $250. A month later, it hasn't arrived. Since it goes to a PO box, I didn't ask for any kind of confirmation. I didn't ensure either the package, because I trusted that the US Postal Service does their job. Now, my son is out several hundred dollars, and I have lost about $250.

On June 18, 2012 I took a package to the local post office for delivery in Alabama. This was a package that was four inches in diameter and seven feet two inches long and weighed approximately five pounds. I did not insure this package, and after reading others complaints, it would not have done any good to do so. I did request a delivery receipt and paid for the postage and the delivery receipt. The package was to be delivered on Saturday, the 23rd of June. I notified the person the package was addressed to. I was advised they would be closed that day, but would be looking for the package on Monday, the 25th of June. When there was no sign of the package having been delivered by mid-morning, I called the receiver and I was told that no package had been received. I then went to the post office and asked for help. No real help was offered. I asked for a phone number for the post office in Alabama and I was told that I would need to call 411 to get that number at my expense. After spending over two hours trying to get some help from the USPS, I finally gave up and called the receiver, who then called the post office there and was told that yes the package had arrived, but they had returned it that morning (June 25, 2012).
There has been no real help provided by the USPS in locating this package and their only positive comment has been, “You should have insured it!” My question is simply, how do you lose a package that is over seven feet long? I could almost understand a very small package, but a package that long? The package contained an expensive fishing rod that they said must have come out of the container. They had no comment when I explained to them that the rod was in a plastic sleeve that also contained a check with an address on it, an invoice with an address on it! Why do we as customers have to put up with this nonsense? I have suffered a $200 loss due to their negligence and all I get is a simple “who cares?” They know they cannot have an action taken against them in small claims court but only in federal court and realize that a little person does not have the means to sue them in federal court; so they can steal not only the item shipped, but the postage to ship it as well! Any suggestions on how to proceed with this?

I checked the USPS website to track it, and it said "arrived at Seaford Post Office" around 11am. My mail is usually mailed around 2-3pm, so I waited till then. My mail came, but no package. I looked at the site again, was still at the post office.
Later that night I decided to check again, and the track and confirm page said "Delivered at 8:53am". This is impossible because (a.) I was home (b.) I was awake and (c.) it was still in the post office when I check at 11am. It was a Saturday, so I had to wait till Monday to call the post office. On Monday, I called the USPS 1-800 number at 8:11am and spoke to someone who gave me a case number and said they would call me in one business day. Well, they didn't call me. I have spoken to 3 different supervisors (Tammy, AJ, and Joe), my mail person and several other postal employees in person and by telephone asking the same question over and over! What was the date you started holding my mail and the date you stopped? No one has been able to answer it for me. Why? They have just said call back at this time or that time. I have been calling and going in person to the post office for 3 1/2 weeks now! I explained to every one of them that I missed an appointment which may cause me to lose my housing and all I need is the date. The response I got from AJ was unbelievable! First he read me the laws or reasons they were allowed to hold my mail very defensively and aggressive. I had only been able to say my mail was held and he had no idea what I was even asking at that point.
Then when I told him how important it was and said, “Please help me, I may lose my housing,” he said, “You’re not losing your house because we held your mail. You’re losing your house because you have not made your payments!” He also said I was not to contact anyone else at the post office from now on - he will be my contact person! He said he would contact my letter carrier that day and send me the dates I was asking for by mail. I asked if I could pick them up because I have a deadline to meet with this information. He said yes and he would call me back. That was a week ago and I have not heard from him yet. I called again and this time spoke with carrier number ** who said she remembers my mail being held, but she does not know the date or for how long. She said they only hold it 10 days and that I would have to ask my carrier who is on vacation and she does not know when she will return.
Yesterday, I went back to the main post office asking for a supervisor and asking her to please help me because I don't know what to do. Tammy was very nice and really wanted to help as best she could. Then she gave me this address and also informed me that the post office keeps no record of mail holds. She said there is no log book, so probably no one would be able to give me the information I need. I don't understand how that could be possible. She also said that it is common for the post office to hold mail longer than 10 days as a favor to customers when I told her the 7 letters I picked up on 6/30 were postmarked between 6/3 and 6/27. I was told on 6/30 my mail was held due to vacancy, but carrier ** said it was held because of an open box and AJ said it was held because it was too full! My apartment is not vacant, I still live there!
There were only 7 letters and the box holds much more mail than that. My mail box has a lock and key and I am the only person with the key. It could not have been opened or closed without my key. I don't understand why I cannot get a straight answer and keep getting the runaround. I never requested my mail be held and because it was, it has caused me very big problems! I would like what I have asked for since day one: to know the dates my mail was held so that I can show I did not receive the letter with the appointment I missed. Otherwise, I will lose my housing and there is no resolution for that!

After inquiring about its delivery in 1, 2, 3 weeks, I returned to the original post office and was told that it would take at least 4 weeks before they could trace the package as being lost. Six weeks after not being delivered, the package was returned to my address in deplorable condition (some items were damaged). The zip code was scratched out and a stamp "undeliverable" was on the box. I repackaged the items, again went to the same post office and mailed the box, this time requesting a signature upon delivery. Three days, a week, 2, 3, 4 passed and my daughter had still not received the package. The gentleman, Ted, and another woman said that all that was apparent is that they (that office) had received it. No other tracking existed. Twice more the exact event took place.
Today, at the post office on Thousand Oaks, the tracking number does not even show as being a valid number in your system. I was also informed that the office is not a real post office and that they are contractors. Firstly, I am sincerely considering suing the USPS for fraud in that you allow outside contractors to convey themselves as the USPS. Secondly, the items in the package were quite costly, along with a birthday card and $150 cash as a present for my daughter's fiancé. I strongly advise that this government agency cease leading the public astray and require that all contracted businesses state so on the building. I have never had any reason to distrust my own government's postal service in my life as I have never had any reason to. From the tone of the voice of the real postal worker, this incidence frequently happens. What do you intend to do? In what time span? Only so that I know how long to wait before proceeding with legal processes.

The supervisor says she has every right not to deliver the mail. I asked what I needed to do and he just kept saying she doesn't have to deliver. I asked why was I not notified and he said he thinks he sent a letter. Well, I never received a letter or so much a word about my mail. This supervisor was awful, his manners were terrible and still, he offers no solution only to say she doesn't have to deliver the mail. I have never had any problems with my mail being delivered. Why now?

Do not forward to local post office, they do not help at all. I've had lost mail since I moved into this home. Checks, IRS notices and adoption forms have gone missing. I have actual envelopes from companies that prove my mail was returned to sender even though I have lived here continuously for over three years. The post office ignores complaints as much as possible. I even have other people's mail at my home that they still haven't picked up several months after I notified them. Yesterday, the mail carrier drove over my lawn about an hour after it was reseeded. Who is supposed to fix it? To make it worse, they left a package nowhere near my front door so I didn't even see it and when I did, it was mangled.
Kensington, Maryland post office might just be one of the worst ever. They need serious help. The supervisor for the local post offices here fails to return calls and says there is nothing that can be done. This is the level of service we can expect and they will not help. Someone else needs to get involved. The post office is not doing their job and they don't have to because clearly, there are no consequences for messing up day after day after day (except for me, of course). I have had to pay late fees for bills that didn't arrive and a big fine to the IRS because a notice was lost! I have had it.

This is a complaint against the Walpole, NH post office, its acting postmaster, the rural carrier on our route and the investigative team that handled the initial complaint. These are the three separate businesses located at this address that all ship via Priority Mail. Together, we have spent $12,000-$15,000 with the USPS in the first 6 months of this year, with expected total expenditures of $25,000-$30,000 by the end of the year. During the month of June, on a Wednesday, I inquired of a postal clerk at the Walpole post office if leaving half of a priority box sticking out of my mail box along the street was the proper method of making a delivery. I was concerned that someone would steal it. I was told that it was not how things are done. The acting postmaster talked to the carrier and told him not to do that again.
On Friday of the same week, I had requested a pick up at our address and I was expecting three priority boxes to arrive, but only one was brought to the house when the carrier did the pick up. I asked the said carrier where the other two boxes were and I was informed that he had left them in the mailbox at the street with the rest of the mail. He stated in a very hostile manner that "It is the way it will be from now on because you got me in trouble!" The carrier was instructed by the previous postmaster several years ago to bring in all mail when delivering or picking up mail at the house. This new change in delivery plans was his way of retaliating against me as I would have to walk about 400 feet down a private lane past two other houses to get the mail, even though he comes to our house. I reported his actions and behavior to the acting postmaster after he left my property. She just shook her head and said she did not know what was going on with him and that she would address the problem, but that he did not get in trouble for leaving the box sticking out of the mailbox, but was told not to do it again.
The next day, Saturday, the carrier came for our daily pickup (there were 28 priority boxes to be taken). He entered the shipping area in a very hostile manner and started slamming the boxes into his crate without scanning them. I asked him to please scan the packages before taking them, but he told me that he did not have to talk to me and that he would scan them when he got back to the post office. I then told him not to take the boxes if he wasn't going to scan them, but he continued to put them into his crate. For the third time, I told him if he takes the boxes without scanning them, I would call the police, at which time he threw the packages he had in his hands with total disregard whether they would be damaged and then picked up the mail crate and threw its contents to the floor denting some of the boxes. He then left our property and flew down the private lane at a very high rate of speed covering the neighborhood with a large cloud of dust.
I had to take these boxes to the PO knowing the post office was closed in the hopes of finding someone there to take them for me. I was fortunate enough to see another carrier and he took them into the PO and scanned them in for me. I filed a complaint online with the Walpole post office explaining the rural carriers actions. I also filed a complaint reporting the said carrier's hostile actions against me and his abuse of the mail with the Walpole Police Chief. The carrier has displayed increasing hostility and aggressive behavior each time he was spoken to by his supervisor. Between the chief and me, it was determined that because of his hostile behavior displayed after he had been spoken to by his supervisor three times, he should no longer be allowed on my property as we do not know what he might do next! The chief also told me to inform the acting postmaster of our conclusions.
The acting postmaster told me that the case will be under investigation and that someone else will be making the pickups. Following the investigation, no one contacted me regarding this matter and worst of all, I never received so much as an apology for their carrier's behavior. But I was informed by the acting postmaster that the same carrier would be picking up my mail. I was never consulted about allowing him back on our property, but told that he would be our carrier and if I did not want him on the property, I would have to bring our mail to the PO everyday. Due to the volume of packages picked up at our location on a daily basis through the service that the post office offers, I had a choice of either spending the gas money and time to bring the packages to the PO everyday (which is not an acceptable option) or be forced into dealing with this hostile and abusive rural carrier at a lower level of service. And also due to the fact that we're being forced to allow this abusive carrier on our property, we followed the police chief's advice and installed a security camera to help protect ourselves from this hostile and abusive situation.
I then talked to the acting postmaster to inform her that the carrier would be allowed on our property provided that there were no more issues. She was glad to hear that and then she informed me that any mail or packages delivered to us, even if the carrier is making a pickup, will be left in the mailbox at the street from now on. This means the previous services offered are now being withheld in retaliation. This PO has clearly shown that they (the acting postmaster, the carrier and the investigative team) are all retaliating against us for reporting the carrier's actions and are displaying a total disregard of the mistreatment of our mail and the abuse that we may endure in the future from this carrier.
I have visited numerous post offices and inquired how priority and first class mail is handled by rural carriers when doing a delivery and/or pickup. I was informed that their rural carriers, when doing a pickup or making a delivery, as a standard of customer service, they do not leave mail or packages in the mailbox at the street. Rather, they bring the mail to the customer. We have been told that the acting postmaster at the Walpole post office is only a postal clerk. She has been temporarily acting as postmaster until the position can be properly filled. Due to her lack of experience and managerial knowledge in dealing with the carriers and customers, she has been instrumental in allowing an inquiry to escalate into the current fiasco which has involved my filing a complaint with the police, the installation of a security camera at our shipping area, an extremely high level of stress on our part and the interference in the operation of our three businesses.

My son had sent me a birthday gift from Amazon. I never received the package. He checked the tracking label and it stated that the package was delivered on 7/6/12 at 2:35 pm. Well, I was off that day. I received a call at 2:17 from the florist for a floral delivery, which was delivered to my home at 3:05. I was at my home the entire time and no package was ever delivered. At first the carrier, Eileen, said she didn't deliver any package that day to my building and gave me a name and number of a ** at the Norristown branch office. Well, I went there and I found out that the package was scanned 3 times by the carrier after she delivered it - to what apartment I do not know because she never delivered to mine.
I went back to the carrier and now she says she remembers delivering, but she’s not sure if she delivered to the right door or not because she was distracted. Then she insinuated that maybe this white woman who was in the gym may have taken it. I asked all of my neighbors and none saw anything. I believe she gave it to the wrong apartment. My gift from my family was delivered somewhere else because of someone's incompetency. That's just completely wrong. I'm the one who did all of the tracking, not the post office. Everyone makes mistakes and she made a big mistake at our expense! That's just not right. And if no one has seen it, where did it go to?

I purchased an iPad and cover for my son who is going to seminary school in Los Angeles. My wife and I packed it in one of his sweatshirts along with some of his mail, etc. When he received the package, the iPad and cover were gone. He said it looked like the bottom had been opened. I filed a claim online but it was denied because they said the package was not damaged. No, the package was not damaged because someone at the post office opened the package and took out the iPad and re-taped the package so you cannot tell it was opened.
After the denial, I looked at the mailing receipts and noticed something. I originally mailed the package on April 14 but failed to put the apartment number on it, per attached receipt it weighted 8lb 8oz. The package was not delivered to my son; it was returned and I went into the post office on April 21 and gave the postal clerk the apartment number and re-mailed the package. I did not touch the package. I did not remove it from the post office. It sat on the counter and the correct address was added but I did not remove, open or touch the package.
Per the attached receipt, the package now weighed 5lb 4.10oz. Someone at the post office removed my son's iPad. I am pretty upset about this and can't believe this can happen. I cannot afford to lose $589. I swear that my wife and I packed the iPad and mailed it and when my son got the package, it was gone. I did not touch the package once it was mailed but somehow it lost weight. The iPad was stolen. One thing that was always stressed to me in my 21 years in the military was to serve with honesty and integrity. I wish they would stress the same thing in other branches of the government.

I ran a successful eBay business until USPS lost my package. I am a single father. I shipped multiple packages as I usually did. Somehow my most expensive items travel no further than USPS' bell gardens sorting plant, apparently a black hole for parcel. No, I didn't get insurance as I mistakenly equate that to breakage, not losing the package! What other business would be successful with this model. We lost your package, oh well.
This being my largest transaction, I have been devastated by the loss of this package and actually starved for a week. It's funny their policy, I have to pay them, to be protected if they, USPS, lose or damage my package. USPS does not care about their customers and there are too many better options to give them any more of my money. Being in the media field, they are lucky I haven't decided to launch a media campaign. With all the tools today, they better shape up.

The letter expressed the appreciation of my wife and me to Eileen, our assigned postal carrier. I was told by the acting PM she would give it to the PM (Debra) when she returned from her medical condition. Having heard nothing since then, I have tried several times in July 2012 to contact Debra and see whatever happened to my letter. She is frequently gone, in meetings or on conference calls and has not returned my call.
Today, I called the USPS office of Inspector General and was transferred to the Santa Ana District Office where the phone rang 20 times before I hung up and called the OIG again. This time, I was put on hold and then someone picked up by saying "Hello" with no name. I had to ask for their name and where they were. With all the negative comments and the USPS financial problems, you would think they would appreciate a positive letter regarding one of their carriers. I am now waiting to see if I ever get a return reply from postmaster of the Los Alamitos USPS! It shouldn't be this complicated to give positive comments of appreciation to a postal carrier!

I informed my husband who was in his office and he opened the front door and the mail delivery man said he left a package in the back near the dog's food dish. When sending a package, whether you insure it or not, track your package. They need to automatically give you a tracking number. Now, my cousin does not have his birthday present that I made. I am writing this in reference to the Keyes post office in Keyes, Oklahoma. The clerk, who works there, **, is very rude, hateful and incompetent. There are times when she will be on the phone and it's obviously a personal call, and she will make people wait forever (while she is talking and giggling or screaming at someone she is mad at) until she is done with her conversation before bothering to help them. When she is assisting people, she acts as though she is being put out and doing them a favor by giving them her time and attention. There have been many times when I have tried calling to get information and the phone is busy for hours, as if she just leaves it off the hook so she is not bothered. She also very frequently puts our mail in the wrong box and other people's mail in our box. If we did not live in a small town, where the majority of the people are honest and know each other, it is very likely that we would have not gotten some very expensive and/or important items and documents.
She is very loose-lipped. If someone goes in to forward their mail, she goes around telling everyone that the person is moving. If someone goes in and requests a separate mailbox from their spouse, she goes around telling everyone that they are having marital problems. She had caused numerous problems with her lack of professionalism. This woman is clearly in the wrong line of work and is tarnishing the reputation of and bringing a horrible name to the United States Postal Service. In a time when good, hardworking people are being laid off from USPS for budgetary reasons, I would encourage you to look at this woman and reconsider the need for her in your organization.
Many people have complained about her for years and I have felt this way for a very long time, but until now, she was only a fill-in for our postmaster. Now that he has relocated, she is the only person there. I am very concerned for the integrity of my mail with her as the sole person there now. That is why I chose now to formally complain. I wish to remain anonymous as we live in a very small town and this woman has a very big mouth and has been known to become violent. One example of that being when she got irate with her own husband and intentionally crashed into his vehicle (with him in it) with hers. This is not the kind of person you should want as the face of the USPS in our area or even associated with USPS at all, in my opinion. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The package was never redelivered, so I called my local post office and they said they had no idea why I would think it's okay to call them to ask about my package. If they had it, they would have delivered it and if I didn't get a package, that obviously means they don't have anything for me. So, to make things clear, I asked, "So this means you don't have my package there, right?" The person responded, "Right." So, I called the 800 number back and told them what had happened when I called my local post office and how I still don't have my package and it wasn't delivered on the date set up and asked how can there have been a slip and an attempted delivery but now the box has vanished.
The supervisor from the 800 number said, "I'm going to call your local post office and get to the bottom of this and call you back." So, he called me back and said the manager at my local post office said that they were trying to call me and left me messages, so they could deliver my package. I told him I was the one who called them and repeated what they said about not having a package for me and asked, "Why do they need to call me to set up delivery? I had done that online, had my confirmation #, and was waiting. They are lying and making excuses that make no sense." He said, "Well, they said they never said they don't have it. They said the carrier is out with it, on his way to you. Just make sure you're home to receive it." I said, "And if it doesn't come, then what?" He said, "Call us back." The tracking slip shows the package was delivered to me on June 22, 2012 at 8:52 am. We did not receive our mail until around or about 3:30 pm on that date as the regular carrier (Russ) was off or sick that day. I have been dealing with Barry, the supervisor, from June 22, 2012 to today, Monday, June 25, 2012, to no avail. The cost of the ring was $204.01. I have no idea what happened and neither does the post office as Berry told me that he had 3 carriers covering for Russ that day and he was trying to track down the package. However, Berry did tell me today, Monday, June 25, 2012, that he had one more scanner to check, whatever that means, and his words were, "I don't know what else to tell you."
He said he would call me tomorrow, Tuesday, June 26, 2012, with a last effort to this one more scanner. My grandma and relatives have been mailing me packages from Topeka, Kansas to Singapore (where I live now) for the past 2 years. They have never had any issues before with the same local post office; recently though, my grandma tried to mail me two package envelopes. She had to argue with the manager at the post office because the manager kept telling her that my address was wrong. The manager even asked what country Singapore was in, and my grandma verified to the manager that Singapore is a country.
My grandma paid $200 for insurance on the packages, and $150 for the postage. I never received the packages, I had called into the local Singapore Postal service to see about it, but they claim they have never even come to Singaporean soil. My grandma called in to track within the USA and they claimed the packages were put on a direct flight from Chicago. After a month of trying to find where the packages went to, my grandma filed for claim back since we assumed the packages were lost.
3 months now since she first mailed those packages and she got them delivered back to her with my own address scribbled out on them. She went straight down to the same post office where she mailed them originally and complained. The manager had scribbled out my Singapore address and claimed it was not a real address. Mind you, my relatives have mailed several packages to my same Singaporean address for the past 2 years with no issues till now. My grandma asked for a refund on the postage and insurance but the manager rejected her.
In my personal opinion if you’re working for the postal service, shouldn't there be a list of countries to verify an address if you’re unsure? Being the manager shouldn't they already know this, and it takes less than 2 seconds to google Singapore and see that it’s a country. Instead, I felt they were being lazy and only took the package just to get the total $350 from my grandma knowing that the package won’t be mailed off because they were too lazy to verify their own ignorance.

I was expecting a package shipped on June 5th and it arrived in the Los Lunas postal facility on June 11th, where I have my mail forwarded to my P.O. Box because I do not have a receptacle and money to pay for a P.O. Box for my mail delivery. On the 11th, when it was not there, I had the package tracked and the woman at the post office said the carrier forwarded the package. When I asked to where, it was obviously incorrectly addressed, which I then corrected. The postmaster there told me that since I did not have a mailbox, getting a P.O. box and forwarding my mail would be fine. The status of tracking number ** shows it was forwarded on the 11th. Note that not one status update got posted since then. I have been back to the front desk three times and they tell me it is exactly where it was supposed to be and I should have made sure it was addressed properly (which it was).
The woman, same one all along, said that I have to wait 7 to 10 days for the mail to be forwarded back to Los Lunas since it was sent to Texas. Then, at 10 days, she changed the story to 7 to 12 days, which, on the 12th day, 6/23/2012, it is still not there. I tried to track it again and the response from the USPS track and confirm is, "Sorry, the tracking system is having technical difficulties. Please try your search again later." This resulted to me having to drive 18 miles a day for the last five days, plus my time, to check on a package that should have been there on the 11th of June. First, the carrier should have never handled the mail, the post office has a forwarding order in effect. Second, the person at the front desk is rude, and should be guided on how to handle customers. I was nice, polite, etc. In fact, when she commented about the package being right where it should be in Texas, the next customer in line was, by her own body language and laughter, appalled at the non-professional behavior of the postal worker.
Lastly, the package had time-sensitive material enclosed. Who is going to cover the loss of services, etc. that this delay is causing and still has not been brought to closure? An estimated $500 in time, fuel, mileage, and lost services is only a low ball estimate this failure on the part of the USPS has caused me. In addition, the fact that the postal worker is completely misinformed, has complete disregard for working with a customer, and goes out of her way to throw a jab or two for what was their mistake as they represent the USPS at the front line. Harassment and incompetence is probably a description that would let this postal worker off easy. Please have someone get in touch with me as soon as possible to discuss how the USPS intends to ensure the package sent to me is delivered without further delay, and to discuss how remuneration to me will be handled for this gross failure.

The actual incident happened on April 4, 2012 around 12 noon or a little after. I was proceeding to leave the post office when the thing that stopped the car tripped me. The box went one way and I fell a way that caused the lower part of my back to be in constant pain. I originally went to the post office to just get a letter that states I fell on their property. The manager by the name Linda ** at the time gave me a sheet of typing paper. Linda ** told me she would contact me; but has failed to do so. I still have not heard from Linda **. I called the post master after that. It was I guess a week or two and they gave me the runaround.

I sell on eBay and the post office has lost 4 packages in the past 3 months! The first 3 were small and relativity inexpensive, so I didn't think I needed to insure them. Now I'm out a pretty good chunk of cash for the 3, plus shipping. The 4th is at least insured, so I'm hoping for a bit of interest from the post office on this one. They generally just say, "Oh well, sucks to be you." Is it too much to ask that the US post office do its job? Has anyone else noticed a jump in incompetence from them lately? I'm utterly frustrated!

In the last communication I received from the post office, I was told they would investigate and get back to me in 2 to 4 business days. That was two weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. In the meantime, I've reported my problem several more times, both in person and by email and I still can't get a resolution. Gloria not only hand delivers the mail, but sometimes enters the house and the door is closed behind her.
They're now lying about us, saying we're opening Margaret **'s mail. Exactly how could we do that, when there hasn't been a single piece of mail put through our mail slot in over a month? We now have to go across town to pick up our mail and we still don't know if we're getting it all. We've sued Margaret ** in Superior Court of San Francisco, case #**, and at this point, we're thinking of reporting little Gloria to the police. Three days later, I was contacted by the Coldwater, MI Post Office and said they would look into it.
I called the customer service number again on 5/26 when I received in the mail the top part of the box along with a blank form to fill out. It was the Parcel Search Request. Again, they said someone would be contacting me within 24 hours, and again, I have never been called except for the first time back on 5/17. I called again on 6/1 and was told "the greasy wheel gets the grease", just keep calling! I called on 6/7 and this time my deliver confirmation receipt number was not in the system. I finally got a hold of someone in customer service and was told that they filed the number and she had to give me a new case number! ** and again, was told that someone would contact me within 24 hours, and yes, once again, I never received a call.
I filled out the form and sent it back to Atlanta, but I have not heard anything from them either! Why are they not calling? Why am I doing all the work to try to find the contents of my box! I have this feeling that I will never see it again, and that it has probably already gone to auction! I had a lot of lost mail lately. In November 2011, I sent my granddaughter a birthday card, never received with a check. In December 2011, I sent her a Christmas card with a check; never received nor was the check ever cashed. Same thing happened again for Valentine’s Day and Easter. Both had checks that never have been cashed. I am a PA notary and sent title work in to Penn Dot on April 1, 2012; never received and checks were never cashed.
I now have to pay for new titles and do all the paperwork again without compensation. Penn Dot refuses to take my copies of the original paperwork. I have notified our Post Office where these letters were mailed. They state there is nothing they can do. I am afraid to send out anything and it is not cost effective to have all this mail certified. I always have my return address on the letters. I do not know what to do. I filed a complaint with the USPS again.

My family and I moved in mid-April 2012. I filed a personal change of address notice, enough in advance that it was confirmed, that by the time we moved to our new address, my mail would have begun being sent there. But we were receiving a trickle of first-class mail (mostly only that which was in response to origination from the new address) and none of the paid subscription magazines. In mid-May, our former landlord sent a substantial box of unforwarded mail to us at our new address. Some of it were personal and confidential, some had monetary value. To date and as best I can recall, I have received only one piece of first-class mail with a yellow sticker.
I have not known what to do about this. One suggestion has been to re-file a change of address. I will do this, but under protest (because I've paid once, in vain, for this service) and without much faith. This is a terrible inconvenience that should not ever happen. It has caused me many hours of phone calls and worry. I feel vulnerable.

The post office delivers our mail to a cluster box of 11 mail boxes. Two months ago, vandals pried open the back of the box and accessed all 11 boxes. I notified the post office of the break-in, but they did not post a notice to the box owners indicating the owners would have to pick up their mail at the post office. Four days later, a repairman straightened out the bent door and riveted a new lock on the door. On 6/2/12, vandals attacked the cluster box again. Once again, the post office left no notice to the box owners.
After a week, we still have no idea when the cluster box will be fixed. They do not communicate at all with their customers. By eliminating individual mail boxes, the post office not only increased the post man's efficiency at delivering mail, they also allowed vandals to steal mail from multiple customers with one use of a pry bar. The post office can no longer guarantee secure delivery of our mail. It's understandable that people now use alternate means of delivery.

Our son gave us a Smith & Hawken copper mailbox for Christmas about four years ago. It lasted 1 1/2 years before our carrier damaged it. It opened at a 45 degree angle and the mailman hits the door with his fist every time he puts the mail in the box, splitting the door in two. I replaced this one with a heavy duty copper steamer trunk mailbox ($345), thinking there was no way he could damage this one. It lasted two years because the carrier slammed the door down with such violence it came off its hinges. I replaced this with another steamer trunk. Not even a year (approximately 9 months) before he managed to get the door completely off.
Since my phone calls were never returned, I took the boxes down to the post office and showed the three damaged boxes to the supervisor. He said there was nothing they could do unless he ran over them with his truck! Because the door is now completely off, he started throwing it down on the curbing, making it so bent it is hard to slip back on. When I saw him picking it up last week, I stopped him and showed him the damage he was doing. His excuse was that he "forgets" the door is not attached and "accidentally" drops it! On top of that, he told me that his supervisor told him that my mailboxes were such heavy duty boxes there was no way he could have damaged them, that I was damaging them myself because I didn't like him and was just trying to get him in trouble.
My husband said to not have any contact with the man because he sounds postal. This is a very frustrating situation. The carrier's supervisor thinks we are damaging our own mailboxes (!) and his carrier is a saint. We have lived here for 35 years and have never had any problem with a carrier before.

I have been residing at a residence for about 12 years. This residence does not have a mailbox on site. Therefore, I have to have one at local (Huachuca City) post office. This is provided free of charge because the post office cannot deliver at residence. I have to "show proof" I live at the residence yearly. An envelope is usually placed in my P.O. Box about two weeks before residency is required. I fill out the data needed on the envelope, sign it, and return it to that post office.
Over the past several years, (remember I have been here 12!) the process has been getting more invasive. I was asked to provide my phone number. I was asked where I worked, my employer, why I worked nights and found it difficult to get to the counter to pickup or drop off mail (counter hours are 0830-1630). I work from 0630 to 2000, sometimes, 2300 as a nurse. This year, I was provided the required envelope, on Bev's admission, on 5/31/12. I attempted to access my P.O. Box on 6/4/12 and found it locked. I questioned her face to face and was told I needed to provide a written and signed statement by my land manager, stating I lived where I have been, to have the box unlocked. "No," I could not have the mail addressed to me in the box. No, it did not matter if my Social Security check and unpaid bills were in there. No, I could not show her my driver's license, voter's registration card, passport, cell phone bill, check book to prove my residency .
This is a small town. She has known me and that I have this P.O. Box for years. I have no access to my mail until the manager writes me a letter. I could forge that! I did ask for the postmaster's phone #. She can't be reached until Friday. This is Wednesday. Why is it "legal" to refuse to issue someone their mail? I can show with picture ID who I am and that I live where I claim. Why does someone my age have to have someone else "verify" me?

I own my own company. From April 1 to June 6, I have shipped 49 packages to Brazil. Eleven of them I had to refund money to, because the parcel was lost. I have 9 customers telling me right now they did not receive the parcels. One of the customers was saying they did not receive or authorized the charge. So out of 49 shipped, 21 of them have not made it to its new owner. That is 42.85% being claimed as not received, almost half of the orders to Brazil.
The USPS said that there was nothing they could do. Once it enters Brazil, it is up to customs and the Brazil mail to deliver it. The USPS only tracks in the US the parcels I sent. I had a parcel go from my post office to Salem, OR to LA to San Francisco, back to LA, then to Jamaica, NY. I shipped on May 7. On May 23, it arrived in Jamaica, NY to be sent out of the US. It was a priority mail flat-rate envelope. It's non-trackable outside the US, unless I pay an additional $11.75 to have it sent registered. So this brings up 2 things in my mind. 1) Why doesn't the USPS get with Congress and the President to get the corruption and mail fraud fixed? The answer is they are too busy, being to not to have to file bankruptcy. 2) Was that package processed in a manner that saves expenses for the USPS? The answer is no. The USPS is so engrossed in bailing itself out that it is missing the whole picture. Work smarter, not harder. USPS, get with the program.

It turned out the carrier left it while I was still home in front of my unsecured, unsafe, and unattended apartment door without knocking or ringing my door bell. This is in regards to the Post office located at 521 Central Ave.- Cheltenham, PA, U.S. This Post Office has some of the worst customer service. There is a rude gentleman that works there some mornings as well as a rude woman. Both are clerks at the receiving window. The guy always looks like he is about to fall asleep. He hardly responds to your questions, is very slow and always seems like he does not want to be bothered no matter what time of day or how low the traffic. The woman is very rude. She never answers your basic questions and almost acts as if she does not want you to come to the post office. Then she will complain about you to other people in line. She always seems like she has to go catch a train and you're the one holding her up, even if it's morning time.
For example, last week, my mom and I were in this post office shipping a package to someone who had bought something from us on eBay. We came to the post office at closing time. So we asked her if there were any other post offices in the area that were open later. The closest post office, we later found out, was Fox Chase. However, instead of just giving us the address, she kept repeating the neighborhood of the post office to us and telling us how she couldn't understand how we would not be able to find it and how simple it was. Then, she threw up her hands and walked off to ask someone else behind the counter if they knew where it was. They didn't know either. So, we left and tried to find it but couldn't.
The next morning we came back to the same office to mail our package. After mailing our package, we told the same woman the address for the other office we had found through Google. Remarkably, the address was on the wall right by her desk. She seemed very impatient and it was only 11 o'clock in the morning. She always moves like she is late for something and she wants you to hurry up and get out of the office. The U.S Postal Service needs to fire all of the characters that work at this post office.

USPS Ypsilanti (MI) Township Branch, den of thieves - I was setting in limbo on Saturday (5/26) at 11am with a Saturday GTD redelivery confirmation of a perishable item (4 trees) and can't verify anything. The USPS website service displays that my packages were delivered the prior day that were paid for as 2-day priority mail with a 5/25 delivery date. Of course an obvious error, but they should have been left as no signature was required. My local carrier embodies the notion that this Saturday delivery is not his responsibility with a chuckle without personally checking anything.
I had a GTD redelivery order number of #** for Saturday. I have zero access to anyone in the Ypsi Township post office via their phone listing/automated answer system during posted business hours. And the USPS 800 customer service staff is useless in verifying anything as they are but a farmed-out business service (it's amazing that it's not from India), who are essentially working from manuals, with absolutely no access to contacting any USPS branches during USPS branch business hours.
I received the trees the afternoon of 5/29 after calling USPS Consumer Affairs Detroit. So, I paid for 2-day priority mail and received the parcels in 6-days. The consumer affairs rep informed me they wouldn't have been delivered on Tuesday if I hadn't called. Once again, I paid for 2-day priority, have a GTD redelivery confirmation for day 3 (Saturday) and even then the parcels wouldn't have been delivered on day 6 Tuesday without me calling! So, I pay for a steak (2-day priority) and end up with a McDonald's hamburger (6-day delivery), all (300%) the direct result of USPS's own screw-ups and not a scintilla of civility as Joe Consumer has to eat the difference in costs-versus-actual services performed?
On the morning of May 29, 2012 (Tuesday), I went into the Ypsilanti Township Post Office to deliver a copy of the complaint letter to the postmaster and the USPS counter person demanded that I buy a stamp. We are standing in the Ypsilanti Township Post Office and I responded in utter bewilderment, "but it's in this building." Talk about a shady business, but this is exactly what the USPS epitomizes today.
Does anyone see any elements of a 'that-a-boy' great service in the above facts? So, we have the USPS employees with their inflated pensions, extravagant healthcare benefits, a union guarantee of no lay-offs if one's a six-year USPS employee, a federally mandated law that only the USPS can deliver the nation's first class mail. And the before mentioned service that I received by the USPS and this is what we, the US taxpayers, get as the USPS receives hundreds of millions per year in "implicit subsidies," such as breaks on property tax, vehicle registration, and sales tax, in addition to subsidized government loans.
They live in a world-of-their-own and they don't have the common decency to deal with the public humanely when glaring errors occur that they, the USPS, have produced themselves. And when confronted, they act like ostriches with their heads buried to avoid anything that might require a scintilla of effort to aid their employer, 'Joe Citizen' with their flippant responses indicative of 'it's not my responsibility.'

I was referred to Consumer Affairs at 206 3782600 and talked to Sheria. On 1/23/12, Consumer Affairs (Glory) told me to talk directly to supervisor (Freddy) at Westwood post office at 206 938 7769.
On 1/30/12, I got mail addressed to **, and a supervisor referred me back to Consumer Affairs and I talked to Doris who suggested I scan and print all mis-deliveries. On 2/29/12, I got two wrong addresses for IRA booklets. I told Freddy at Westwood station. On 5-09-12, I got a wrong address for a booklet, scanned, and reported to Freddy. And on 5/16/12, I got wrong a address for Wells Fargo financial booklet, scanned it, and reported to Freddy. This time, Freddy, the supervisor, referred to Consumer Affairs at 253 214 1800.
On 5/31/12, this has happened a lot and I decided to complain. I have a locking mail box, but frequently, this same carrier leaves mail hanging out the slot and can't even put it into my box. I entered the tracking number into a USPS computer and received a printout that states that my letter was "delivered on May 16, 2012 in Sacramento, CA 94257". I agree no one can prove it was the carrier, but come on, this has never happened before with put-out mail and no one can glean personal info or checks from a clearly marked ballot envelope. The manager here at 93933 is totally useless. I was willing to just report it and get on when he said to me, "Why make a big fuss? You can't prove it was him anyway.” I was slack-jaw. In April 2011, I initiated a change of address (from Pleasantville NJ to Mays Landing NJ). I rented out my Mays Landing residence from May 2011 to May 2012. Upon departure of this tenant, I discovered bags and bags of left behind mail... my mail! I'm angry that the tenant didn't advise me that my mail was still being delivered and angrier that my change of address request was completely disregarded/ignored by the post office. The mail that was being delivered included IRS correspondences, including my W2s; other items included magazine subscriptions and personal letters and cards from family and friends. The postmark on these mail pieces was any time from August 2011 through March 2012.
Was my tenant legally obligated to take action and RTS the mail or at least advise me that I was still receiving mail at the Pleasantville address? Can I take action against the tenant? Can I take action against the post office? To add insult to injury, I received an email update from the post office on April 24, 2012, indicating that my change of address/forward mail request would expire 'shortly'. Well, it appears the post office was unaware this request even existed. I'm beyond angry especially since I think my tenant may have gone through some of my mail; even worse I suspect that my tax preparer had my state tax refund mailed to the old address and that my (former) tenant may have it in his possession. (I am having this issue investigated.) I just want someone to be held accountable!

We have always received daily mail and since moving here, we have received no mail on numerous days. I run a small business and have been shipping with the USPS for approximately 20 years. I have never had any problem with the shipping (and I was shipping almost 400 packages per day) until recently. I have about 12 or 13 packages that have either been lost or arrived at my customers' door stamped "Received Without Contents". The common factor is that these are all media mail packages and all travel through the Jersey City, NJ sort facility. The packaging I use is almost impossible to open accidentally. About 80% of my shipments do go first class and I have never had a single one open in transit. So, is there a machine issue in Jersey City? I don't think so. I have spoken to quality control at that location and they assured me that their systems are functioning properly. So, I will point the finger, plain and simple: There is a thief at the Jersey City, NJ facility. I have filed formal complaints to the USPS both in writing and by phone. To date, the problem has not been resolved. I depend on the USPS to provide excellent service at a great price. My confidence is shrinking.

The package wasn't insured. My only option, she said, was to return to sender.

My certified letter was mailed on Friday, May 11, from the Seattle, WA area. On Friday, May 18, I received a call from the postal consumer affairs department in Phoenix, AZ that the letter would be delivered on 5/18 or 5/19. We were home on 5/19 when the man delivered the mail. He did not ring our door bell. He merely left a "tried to deliver" note in our mail box saying that we could go to the mail post office on Tuesday, 5/22, and pick it up.
We had a FedEx delivery just prior to the post man coming. He rang the door bell and we clearly heard him. So we get to wait through a holiday just to get our letter - 12 days from Seattle to Yuma. It is no wonder that, you, folks, are going under. We have a whole crew standing by to replace our air-conditioning unit but the damned check is in the mail. Thanks a lot! Next time, it will be FedEx overnight!

So I have mailed out two packages from Washington State to Florida and to Louisiana, both going Media Mail as they were books - vintage, hard to find books. Both packages were lost. I contacted USPS by phone and was told to wait at least six weeks before filing a complaint, as Media Mail takes a while. I very politely let the USPS rep know that it had been two months already. She then told me that I could file a claim. Just go to my local post office and ask for a search form. I did. My local USPS workers had never heard of such a form. Awesome! Anyways, I contacted the bulk mail center in Federal Way, Washington and was told that Media Mail will only go out when and only when they have a truck full. Sometimes it can take up to six weeks before it even leaves the state! Then, another couple (if I am lucky) of weeks for the mail to be delivered. Then why put my package will arrive within 2-9 days if they know the truck will wait six weeks before even leaving the state?! So, I still ship Media Mail but now everything is insured. So do your job, USPS, or cough up the bucks for your crappy delivery job. By the way, I live in a super small town with no UPS or FedEx. Awesome!

The package did not arrive for 9 days. I mailed a package from Coleman, TX to my parents in Overland Park, KS on May 9, 2012 for Mother's Day. It was estimated that the package would arrive on Friday, May 11, 2012, but once again that could not be guaranteed. So, in hopes of avoiding a disappointing experience a second time, I paid for a tracking number/delivery confirmation to go along with my package. I called my mom and told her that the worst case scenario would be that the package would not arrive until Monday due to high volume around Mother's Day. When I received a call on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 stating that the package had still not arrived, I got online to check the status. The USPS website showed that the package was still at the sorting facility in Abilene, TX, which is only about 55 miles from the Coleman post office I mailed it from one week ago.
I checked the USPS website this morning to find out that the package had finally been checked into the sorting facility in Coppell, TX. I'm not sure why in the world it would take seven days to get a package from Abilene, TX to Ft. Worth, TX other than a pretty disgraceful disregard for customer service. Now here we are, eights days after the package was mailed and it hasn't even made it out of the state of Texas yet. The estimated delivery still shows to be May 11, 2012. Well, I think we know that was a pretty poor estimate. I am disappointed and incredibly frustrated by the inability of USPS to do its job. I'm not sure if the problems are occurring in Coleman, Abilene, or Coppell. However, I am sure that the problems need to be fixed. The tracking number for my package was **. First of all, I must agree with Lori in Long Beach. It would be like from the frying pan into the fire if we were to lose the post office on Atlantic Avenue. But, I do have some complaints. I do believe my mail is not being given to me on a timely basis and I've lost a cell phone in this process as well. My mail person comes at around 2:30-3:00 p.m. daily, yet when there's a substitute, I receive my mail around noon. I also received mail stamped four days earlier which should take 1-2 days to receive. I will receive from that same sender mail in one day most of the time. My cell phone was "lost" in the mail? I've never had problems such as this until moving to Bixby Knolls. I overheard a man complaining today that his pension checks are being lost several times, WTH? When one loses the confidence in our postal service, it becomes very disconcerting.
I believe whoever is sorting and delivering has much to do with this. Not saying that anyone is stealing, but something very serious is going wrong. There needs to be an investigation and micromanaging by supervisors related to this. Reminder of federal offense for tampering with mail, and that applies to everyone! Also, this post office closed one hour early as the housekeeper stated the computers were down. I asked for further assistance and the housekeeper said "she" was busy. I told him I would wait. He shut the door in my face and drew the blinds. This inappropriate, unprofessional behavior has to stop. I would never think about being this rude, inconsiderate or not taking my job delivering mail seriously. I'm an R.N., and take my job very seriously. I would think the postal personnel should do the same.

According to USPS tracking, this package was delivered. I filed a complaint with USPS to find out what happened. While filing this complaint, I accidentally put the wrong address number to where the package was supposed to be delivered to. After noticing this mistake, I contacted USPS to correct my mistake. USPS took that as the label on the package being delivered was wrong which I have written numerous complaints telling them it was my error to no avail.
I contacted the company that I ordered from who gave me the shipping details of my order which were all correct. I cannot be refunded for the item since it was delivered; to whom it was delivered to is anyone's guess. The USPS has turned this into a blame game against me, but USPS was the last to handle this package, so why or how could this be anyone's fault but their own? At that point, the postal carrier started to refuse to deliver anything that required confirmation or signature. This mainly being only my meds. This has happened three times now and I have had to go without my pain meds for days once and almost a second time today. I have called the USPS customer service number and filed a complaint explaining to them it was both the manager and the carrier who were responsible for these problems.
I was forced to call again today as she refused to drop off my meds again today. At end of the conversation with customer service, I was told the manager would contact me Monday, which explained why the last time I called nothing was done and the call I was supposed to get never came. Now, this office is being allowed to keep my (United States vet) pain medications and force me to deal in pain for days and there doesn't seem to be much that I can do about it. I, as an active consumer, kept track of my packages through UPS and the USPS websites. This means everything that I'm associated with in my life is not reaching me. I have late payment for my credit card, which is threatened to be suspended from my transit check program, which is a tax deductible. I felt that I'm losing control of my life.
I was able to retrieve some of the mail that was sent back from the sense with a yellow label on it and show it to the post office supervisor in order to have a clear idea of the problem. After I explained to her the situation, she contacted the post office supervisor and promised me that the situation was taken care of.
2 weeks later, I'm still experiencing the same issue. So I called her to follow up with the matter, and I was very surprised that she was asking me to speak very, very slowly because my English was not understandable. I kept calm and proceeded with my issue, then she told me that now she understood where the problem was coming from. Then I was curious to ask her why it wasn't taken care of two weeks ago when I called. I wanted her to give me an explanation, but instead, she hung up the phone on me. I was very shocked of how rude she was to me on the phone, unprofessional and rude.
I called right back, and another lady picked up the phone. She mentioned right away to me that Jane didn't want to talk to me, and I asked her nicely if there was any supervisor I could speak to. I was denied that option, and she said that Jane was fixing the problem and that if in one week, if the issue still exist, then I would have to call back.
They wouldn't allow me to speak to anyone. I felt very insulted by the way she treated me. She did understand how much of a damage they cost me. She did not understand my frustration. So, I insured it for $200. This would not be possible to replace for that amount, but I am honest and have documentation for that order. The package was tracked, delivered at the door of my recipient and I notified her to look outside. The recipient was home and said she had not seen UPS and no package was delivered. I opened a claim and UPS went through their process and I faxed documents that proved what I was claiming. I received an email from customer service that said a check would be mailed after they received documentation on the claim, because there was not sufficient proof that the package had been delivered.
After a week and a half, I am told that their policy is not to issue a claim if the package is released and the claim was denied. I didn't release the package. I just didn't request a signature. This driver didn't knock or try to see if anyone was home if indeed he did go to the house. Also, I was told by two departments, two different outcomes. So I have to go by the UPS driver's word that he delivered the package to the right address and lose out on what I had to spend, to replace this computer that was a gift to my grandson. Another incident occurred in MD and the UPS driver scanned a delivery to my resident on the wrong tracking number and insisted that I was keeping the wrong package. It was what I ordered and the package showed up in PA. I am just mentioning this, because drivers make mistakes, but the consumer suffers. I will not use UPS again.

I then asked to speak to a supervisor because prior to going to the USPS location, I contacted the passport application appointment center and I was informed that the Cadman Plaza post office closed at 5:00pm. After requesting to speak to a supervisor and waiting 20 minutes to do so, I tried to explain to the supervisor the circumstances and the distance from which I traveled in reliance on the erroneous information which the employee at the appointment center gave to me. Mr. ** advised me in a rude and condescending manner that it was too bad, and it was not his problem that I received the wrong information. I believe that Mr. ** demonstrated a lack of professionalism that reflects on the USPS in a very negative light. The post office needs to be aware of the type of employees who they choose to represent them and ensure that its employees' behavior reflects the organization in a positive light.

The ongoing issue is kind of confusing. There happens to be an unknown failure that comes directly from the post office that is causing part of my mail to be returned to sender. The confusing part is that the mail being returned is the dependable way of support to self-survival. After contacting residential post office and speaking directly with the supervisor, nothing was done because the supervisor stated that the failure is coming from the main office. Sure to what was said based on a password that the posting sticker being placed on mail provides. Besides providing this info, the supervisor also stated, when I asked if something had been done to concluding and fixing the problem, that anything I did nor all the phone calls that I made would fix the problem.
After this, I submitted a temporary forwarding request on mail. Then I completely received no mail at all. I called the 1800 number to the post office seeking help, a claim report was submitted with a case number provided. I was told an agent was to contact me within 24 hours, it didn't happen. I called 1800 number again and was told that after revising my case, the problem no longer existed. I have re-applied one too many times to services that were lost due to this continued situation and it's still in process without a fix. I have lost not only housing on a 2 year waiting list, health insurance that's not applicable to receive no more and many approval status on nutrition assistance that have been submitted and are to be submitted after this claim. I hand delivered the mail to my neighbors, which included an IRS refund check for over $5,000 for one of them, and for the others, there were various important letters including apparently credit card bills, utility bills and other important documents (one even appeared to be a notification from a court of law). I don't know why this happened, but the addresses were clear on the mail. So, it appears simply to be laziness on the part of the mail carrier.

I received my 6-month bill for my PO box fee and mailed it in, only to have them return it to me saying I hadn't paid enough. They raised their box rates between the time I received the bill (one month notice) and the time I paid it (one week before the due date). I had to pay the extra amount because otherwise, they'd hold my mail hostage! What other business gets away with this? For this increased price, I still get the same crappy service where they don't notify me that I have a package to pick up, lose my packages on a regular basis and routinely try to tell me that the package was sent to my home address even though I never provided my home address to the sender!
The cherry on top is that they sent one of my packages to the "mail recovery center". A misnomer if ever there was one. After a week of runaround, the consumer affairs department finally told me that they would have destroyed my package because it had food items in it. No email was sent to me even though I filed a case. No one ever contacted me even though I called repeatedly to find out what was going on. He stated he had no packages that day and to call his district manager. I contacted my local post office here in Taunton, Massachusetts and was told the manager would speak to the mail carrier and get back to me. Well that took two days. When we finally spoke again, I was told that the mail carrier told him he had so many packages that day that he does not remember if he delivered it or not. I live on a very busy road, common sense would tell you not to leave a package at my door, leave me one of those sticky notes that says I have a package.
I am furious about this because no one is being held accountable for my missing package that I paid for. It was my husband's birthday gift. I was told to contact consumer affairs because there was nothing that the post office could do for me. So now I have a big sign on my mailbox "please do not leave packages" and about two days ago, a package was left and by the time I got to it, it had been opened. I still have the package. If you would like to see it, I can email a photo or send it to you. I need someone to be held accountable for their actions and the loss of my stuff. With cuts in the USPS, its customers need to know where to go to mail letters, to get postmarked by deadlines outside the hours of our local post offices. My daughter needed to send a package this weekend. I tried to find one that was open late Saturday or on Sunday. All the USPS website does is give hours for a certain zip code. I spent about ten minuets without being able to find any, so I called their 800 number. I did not get the name of their agent, but she was beyond rude and was as unhelpful as their website. I have used other places' websites that allow you to search by hours, other services or other needed qualities. This is not the case with the USPS. Because I could not find one that was open and able to pick up an envelope, we will need to pay at least $20 to send the envelope on Monday because while I am pretty sure there was some way we could have found information that would have let us mail it on Saturday, the USPS's website was useless and wasted a lot of time.
Antiquated websites that are difficult to use and rude customer service is not the way to treat customers. Further, I believe rude postal employees are being allowed to treat people very badly. I have submitted at least two complaints about other postal workers who seem to think it's okay to act like customers are there to serve them. I asked for a response, but I have never received any comments about nasty employees, not even an apology, having them tell me the way their workers acted was not right. Something needs to be done to make the USPS accountable to those they serve because with so many complaints on this page, it reveals the USPS is an out of control bureaucratic agency. It can be a nightmare to those who pay increasingly large fees.

I have spoken to Martin ** at the Murrieta post office and asked him where I could complain. He referred me to this site. USPS mail service is horrible these days. They have every excuse under the sun for not being responsible for your mail once it is turned over to them. On 3/16/2012, I mailed an international first class parcel to Paris, France with a customs form number **.
3 weeks later, I was notified by the receiver of that package that it had not arrived and when she had her post office in Paris check, they said the package was still in the USA! I went to my local post office in Murrieta, CA and they said it was shipped out of country. They told me to wait another week. I did then go back to them as the package still had not arrived in Paris. They told me it was scanned in San Bernardino, CA. I said that another postal person told me it was out of country, now you say it was scanned in SB 30 miles from here? I’m so confused and was told to contact Martin ** at the other Murrieta post office. He told I waited too long! Then I was told it was never scanned in SB nor LA before leaving the country. Meaning, they couldn't tell me if it was still in the states or not.
I was told a number of times that I was just out of luck because I did not insure the package nor send it register mail. What happened to the USPS was under federal law they seemed to be above the law with no responsibility to the mail they are supposed to handle. They told me they don’t have to scan any of the packages going out of country. Nor does France. So what’s the point of having a customs form? They told me 5 at least different excuses why they weren’t at fault.
I couldn’t make them pay the bracelet I shipped ($44 value) because it had no insurance. I told them the USPS does not allow us to insure a 1st class international package nor priority mail package, only global express mail, which cost $36.00 in postage as apposed to $5.00 postal for a 3 oz. item. This is a business and when you pay them for a service, they are obligated to provide that service or give you back your item or money. I asked him how do I not know a postal worker did not steal the package as it clearly states what it is in the description of the item (as per instructions on the customs form).
All the USPS is interested in is selling you stuff you don’t need. They have the mail rigged in the USA so folks have to pay inflated express mail prices if they want the USPS to be responsible. The attorney general needs to do some investigation on the way the US mail is handled if this private company needs to follow the law and compensate the customers when it does not fulfill its obligations of mail service just like any other business has to. I want the money of value of the bracelet and the cost of shipping returned to me so I can return it to the customer who bought and paid for it and yet never received it.

Then I asked her if I could buy a mailbox and they deliver mail to my house. She says no, because that is not the way the mailbox was set up originally, even though my neighbors all have their own mailboxes. Then she claims (even though she wasn't the one who took my money) that I received three keys. I asked for her supervisor and she said she could not give that information out.

The local post office offers no answers! Do you screen your employees or what? I'm afraid to send anything of value through the USPS. Now, wonder why you're losing business!

I was to receive a box of college books from a college student three months ago and still have not gotten them. They said it is in the dead letter center in Philadelphia. The books were coming from Doug ** out of Arizona. I either want my books or the $75 for them. I am really irritated.

Why not outsource the post office for more productivity? I have lived in the same apartment complex for about 2.5 years and have had routine issues with the mail carrier. The last one has been the classic. I noticed about a month ago that I stopped receiving any personal mail. My mailbox contains fliers and magazines but no mail addressed to me. Business associates started calling and asking if I had moved as my mail was being sent back “undeliverable”. I had not moved, not filled out an address change and definitely not asked for my mail to be held at any post office.
I went online and sent an email asking for an investigation into the issue and received the generic promise of a response within 24 hours. Forty-eight hours later and no response, I followed up with a call. I was told nothing happened to my first email but someone would call me back within 24 hours. This time, I was furnished with a case number for tracking. The first email could not even be tracked in the system, floating in cyberspace.
Today (within the 24-hour window), I received a call from a supervisor called ** in zip code 77304. She had no updates for me as my mail carrier was out delivering mail. She told me that it was at the carrier’s discretion to decide as, when and to whom mail should be delivered. Paying for the service was merely a formality. She asked me “Did I know how hard it was to manage apartment complexes?” I listened in amazement because my next comeback was going to be “why not find people who can manage your job?” My mail carrier had taken upon herself to stop delivering my mail and subsequently return all my mail to sender. She had apparently removed my name from the slot and according to **, I was not even accounted for in their records.
I would like to know what recourse I have in this instance. I refuse to believe there is no accountability in this institution. Please help.

I have been a resident at Blossom river Apartments for four years. They are owned by the Housing Authority in San Jose, CA. I noticed my key was getting harder and harder to open when finally it got stuck and the key ended up broken inside the mailbox. I called the manager of our complex. The manager said to call the post office as they have nothing to do with it. The US Postal charged me $50 to replace the lock and key (after the guy Carlos told me it was only a couple dollars). They said it was owned by the Homeowner's association. I am a renter, not a homeowner. The US Postal gives the keys free to the apartment managers to rent to new residents moving in and charge the people that have lived there longer $50! It makes no sense to me. USPS Blossom Hill Station are ripping people off!

My complaint is due to my personal mail being returned and not delivered to me. I purchased a Post Office Box a couple of years ago. After the first year, the forwarding order expired. I changed my address with family, businesses, etc., to receive my mail at my post office box. To date, my mail is still being returned. I have made numerous visits to the Center Point and Downtown post offices to try to get the problem corrected. About three days ago, another letter was returned to my physician's office, stamped "Attempted Not Known". This has happened with a great deal of my mail. I am trying to get assistance with this ongoing problem. Please let me know what else I need to do to get this problem corrected. I have paid for an additional year for the Post Office Box. I am still not receiving all of my mail. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this matter.
