I sent my best friend her baby shower gift in the mail since she lives in HI and I live in CA. After 3 days, the package had traveled a total of about 20 miles and then suddenly just dropped off the grid. Thank God I got insurance on the package or I'd be out a lot of money. I can't imagine if I had lost my insurance receipt, that little receipt is all that stands between me getting my money back or not. I think the post office is outdated, unorganized and unprofessional. My ex was a postal carrier and I've seen how they do business. I really should have taken that into account before shipping it, but the post office has the lowest shipping rates, now I see why. I will never be shipping with them again.

Let me preface this by stating our local postal service staff is doing the best she can. Notice I said SHE as in ONE person. The local post office services around 2500-3500 people not including a local prison. There is ONE person working in the post office and several rural carriers. The one person has to check in, sort mail, deliver it to the PO Boxes, wait on customers and clean the facility. They used to have three full time people and a part time custodian. If I have a lot of shipping to do and think she might be swamped, I call ahead and try to come in AFTER she gets everything sorted and put out.
What I have a problem with is that on too many occasions I have sent mail, usually priority and had it sit in sorting facilities. Examples: A priority package went to Des Moines, IA on its way to Washington State and sat in Des Moines for 4 days. A job application sent priority mail from Illinois to North Dakota took an extra couple of days because apparently my application wanted a vacation in CALIFORNIA! Only about 2500 miles in the wrong direction and back! Another package sent through the, I believe, now defunct North Platte Nebraska sorting facility arrived in Texas with the contents broken. Since it was a piece of cast metal sculpture that had been knocking around for years and nothing ever happened to it, I didn't worry. The buyer sent a picture of the box and the item. It looked like it had been used as a football.
USPS gripes about funding and cuts. They are a federal CONTRACTOR that is not meeting its contractual obligations. The reason for that is money that could be going to local staffing and facilities is going to HIGHLY lucrative salaries of USPS executives. As they complain about declining revenues, USPS exec salaries go UP!

I sent a package from Chicago to Miami in its original box. According to the tracking the address was not deliverable. Then it said the package would be returned to the sender if there is a return address. The postage was printed electronically so it's not like they couldn't read the handwriting. Now the package is stuck in Atlanta and will probably be auctioned off. There is nothing you can do, they get to keep your property and don't care to return it. They know it was scanned in at the Chicago post office so they could bring it back to Chicago and we can claim it. Instead they keep your property! Even after essentially stealing people's property they can't turn a profit!

So, we get packages delivered on a regular basis from UPS and Fedex with never a problem. I get a tracking confirmation for a small package from eBay saying delivered on Nov 2. Well, no package. Called the Bridgevile Post Office a couple days later to ask about it... They said they would call me back. NOPE! A few days later I called again... They said they would call me back. NOPE! A few days later I called again... the postmaster told me that the mailman was pretty sure he delivered the package on Nov 2. And there was nothing more they could do about it. During the second call, I also asked them why we were not receiving the weekly sale papers as well, and he said he would look into it... He didn't do that either.

I work at a publishing company and the service provided by USPS this year has been HORRIBLE. Not that it was ever that much better in previous years. We distribute a weekly publication that has a pretty large reader-base nationwide. And this year, thanks to USPS closing over 500 facilities across the country, the delivery has just been pathetic. Our weekly issues that are mailed out first thing Monday morning are not arriving until the following THURSDAY, which is when they should be receiving the NEXT edition. Countless subscribers are also receiving all 4 issues for the month folded together at the end of the month. USPS can BURN IN A FIERY BANKRUPTCY for all I care. It's really what they're asking for. Reducing your service quality is NOT the way to recover from declining revenue. I have convinced over a hundred of our subscribers to switch over to our online digital format, and will continue to do so. Each customer switched over is around $15 less in annual revenue for the post office.

I bought this $1500.00 camera on eBay from a user in New York .The package was to be delivered in Somerville, Massachusetts, on the 5th of November 2013. The tracking information showed the package moving well until it reached the sorting facility in Boston. The package was scanned as leaving the facility on the 4th but it never arrived in Somerville. Today is the 11th and after countless calls and walk-ins to the post office, I still don't have an answer to where the package is. It can't be missing. The obvious answer here is stolen by either, someone who scanned it before leaving the sorting facility, the driver, or someone at the main Post office in Somerville who after receiving the package decided not to scan and enter the info.
I'm very angry. Sometimes I feel sad when I hear that the government is cutting back on delivery days, closing some facilities but not anymore. If they make no effort to help find the package and all they can say is: "There's nothing we can do," I think it's time to pull the plug on USPS once and for all! This is a failing and corrupt institution. This is not the first time this happened to me. It is the second in less than 30 days and about the 6th in 365 days! Most of my items are insured resulting in a big loss for the post office but still, some are irreplaceable. I'm getting the Postal inspector involved and let's see if that will change anything in this matter. By the way, I never had a problem with UPS or FedEx. I wish the shipper had used their services on this one.

I just moved to the US from Europe in September for my PhD and my parents sent via mail my personal belongings. By belongings I mean books that I have acquired and require for my studies (some antiques and really not replaceable), my winter clothes, other little stuff from home, and I think what hurts most of all the general love that was intended with the package as it was sent by my parents. It was gift wrapped...and in general sent as a gift, a care package from home.
The Serbian postal service delivered it to the US in record time (3 days) and on September 16th, it "disappeared" without a trace. The only thing stated was "Inbound and Out of Customs". That was almost TWO months ago! At first I was told that it got "stuck" in customs, and given my general bad luck it was the time of the Shutdown so even if I wanted to I could not contact customs. When I finally could, they informed me that they have cleared the package on the 16th and since then it is in the care of USPS.
I have called the USPS customer service, visited my local post office far too many times that I would care to admit (every work day). I have filed claims, my parents filed claims. I have sent pictures and detailed descriptions of the content of the package and to no avail. USPS claims that they are working on my case, and yet no information as yet, no one contacted neither me nor my parents. And if my assumption that the tracking number somehow got destroyed or damaged, that the package was sent to "Dead Letters" according to the USPS website they have probably by now destroyed my books and belongings.
To say that I am mortified is an understatement as those books were not only very important for my studies, most of them are irreplaceable. I know that there is no hope and that probably no one will see this complaint. It's that they have not only shattered my first impression of the country but also stolen artifacts of strong emotional and financial value.

On 10/22 I sent and paid for 2 letters to be delivered return receipt. I waited a week and called to inquire about the status because the website had delivery movement up to 10/23 with no confirmation of final delivery. A case number was assigned. I called customer service 11/2, 11/14, 11/5 and was told that no additional delivery information was available. The notes on the account state that someone from the USPS had called and got my message. No information could be attained about who made the call, where they called from or what time they called.
Interesting ... I explained that my cell phone tracks incoming calls and there were no unidentified incoming numbers recorded. The blatant lie is unnecessary in today's world and easily tracked. No wonder USPS jobs are being eliminated and the mail system is deteriorating.

I had a package that scanned to our local post office as arrived and also scanned when it was sorted. It was out for delivery on 10/23/2103. I was to sign for the package and it was insured for over $200.00... The tracking number showed that my package was out for delivery and it never arrived. I contacted the postmaster to complain and nobody knew what happened to my package. The post office said they did not know who took it out for delivery which should have been known by address and route number 6 and somewhere between the package being out for delivery and my house, it VANISHED into thin air.
I contacted the post office every day getting lame excuses and now being told to forget it since it was insured and to have the sender file a claim. The proper authorities were never called and I suspect that it was stolen. The postmaster denied any wrongdoing but it is a thought on my part. Nothing has been done to my satisfaction and won't be. The postal workers do make a lot of money and I think an investigation should be done. I checked online and cannot find a place to file a formal complaint. I agree with other customers about the majority of postal workers not caring about our packages especially if they are insured.
I hope the post office goes out of business to give us all peace of mind knowing that we can rely on the independent companies that are caring and do a great job. Somebody needs to revamp the postal attitudes and make them realize that without the customers, they would not have those hefty paychecks that they think they deserve. I am extremely unhappy about my package since it cannot be replaced and more upset that it could vanish into thin air!

On 9/25/2013, I went to my local post office (Briargate branch). I mailed 2 boxes to my brother, who is stationed in Germany. I Filled out the custom forms (Halloween stuff I had in my garage and some I had bought for him). Post office person asked if I wanted insurance. I said I did, and told him what was in the boxes. Paid for the insurance and shipping. Fast forward, 6 weeks boxes are MIA and the Post office states that in order for me to collect on the Insurance or even file a claim, I need receipts of EVERYTHING and/or pictures. When I stated, that some of the stuff I had in the garage, and I had no receipts, their attitude was, "Well, too bad, no receipt no payment." I told the USPS, I have the custom forms, I have the insurance proof (that I paid). Basically as one female employee told me, "You could be lying about what's in the box." How on earth can they offer insurance and then back down, because they don't know what the contents are. Why do I fill out custom forms, and pay insurance (each box was for $100.00)? I have been trying to get a hold of someone in the "Claims" department... Not going too well. I have always rooted for the USPS. I do believe I need to change teams.

I have packages mailed from the United States to China on a regular basis (about once every two months). IN SPITE of the fact that I have the address label written in both ENGLISH and CHINESE, about 3 packages that I have sent have never arrived. And then for that matter, I have found out that the "tracking numbers" that they give are only courtesy scans, and that the packages are not traceable unless you pay for Express International (which is $99 for a legal sized envelope). It has been lost in the same way every time: The package will be shown to have gone into the California ISC (International Sort Center) and it will just NEVER come out
The first package that they lost was a series of books that I purchased. And it took MONTHS to get my money back for that. The second package was a gown that I bought for my wife. And that could not be refunded - even though they gave a tracking number. And it never arrived. Not even after months. The third package that they lost was a computer and two books for an Accounting course that I am taking online ($700 worth of **). Because the book will not make it here in time, I will have to take another course AND haggle over the many steps of getting a claim filed.
For the record, filing a claim involves: 1. Waiting 30 days or so; 2. Having them send you out a claim form; 3. Waiting for them to process it; 4. Finally, a refund. This goes on for MONTHS (like it did over the series of books that I lost). Every time you call those ** at the post office (WHEN you can actually get through the 1,001 telephone prompts) NO ONE seems to have an answer. Sorry ** at the USPS. ** them in their **.

Our neighbors all know each other and that includes our postal worker. I have been ill and unable to go to the mailbox. I was shocked when I went today and had a lime green Mailbox Full sign. My home is twenty-five feet from the mailbox, and I am so sad he couldn't have dropped it by. His holiday gift will have to be reduced because now I have to get a cab ambulance to get my mail at some post office. Where!!! He wrote nothing on this disgusting green card. It also says if it is not picked up "soon", my mail will be returned to sender forever! I have had very few complaints, but this is over the top. I have to arrange the special transportation as soon as I can find where my mail was hijacked to! This is truly sad and irritating...

I was away for about a week until Saturday, October 19. When I returned, there was plenty of mail in my box and it did not seem overly full. Between Monday October 21 and today, I have received no mail, even though the local elections department (in Seattle) was supposed to be sending me a voter's ballot. I never received the first voter's ballot either and I have lived at this address for 17 years. By yesterday, Friday, I decided to go to the local post office to see if perhaps my mail might have been held there. I explained to the postal worker that I had had no mail for a week. She seems to have assumed that I had "Vacation Hold Mail," which she had circled on a card. In fact, I never applied for that. She also added 3 phone numbers by hand, none of which seem to work.
I have contacted USPS by e-mail and may hear back. I am somewhat concerned that there has been no mail at all since I usually receive something. There is a post office in a completely different part of town, where they apparently keep "Vacation Hold Mail," but I can not get a straight answer from anyone as to whether my mail is actually there or not.

I purchased some collectible toys on EBAY from a seller in Ontario Canada. It was sent Expedited Mail with tracking on 10/16/13. Tracking shows that Canada Mail service managed to get it into the US in 2 days...nice work. However, it has sat at the Chicago ISC sorting facility since...Today is 11/2/13.
I've called USPS customer service 3 times and received a direct call from my local PO. Unlike the other complaints I've read here, my experience with USPS customer service has been very very pleasant...but my conversations have ended with both of us feeling totally helpless. USPS customer service staff meekishly disclose and confirm the negative reputation of Chicago ISC facility and tell me that they are equally helpless in facilitating any process that might aid in me receiving my package any time soon....if ever.
Where has USPS failed? 1. They failed at living up to their "Expedited" claim. 2. They have taken my money for Expedited service and not delivered...literally.3. They have been unable to give me any idea, any clue, any crumb of information about what is going on in that ISC facility as it relates to my package. 4. And they have totally failed their own employees. Their customer service staff are utterly disempowered in these ISC matters. The ONLY answer you will receive is "I'm sorry. It'll get there....hopefully."
So where is my package? Who knows? Apparently there is no ** mechanism that allows anyone, including USPS staff, to determine what is happening to packages at ISC facilities. Customer service do NOT have any answers. May one call the ISC facility directly? Nope, can't do that either. But I do know one thing unequivocally....I'm never using USPS again.

It arrived at its second sorting facility on October 22, that evening at 7:42, it was marked undeliverable as addressed and sent back to the sender (me). I called to find out where this package is because it was for an event that weekend and opened up a case number. No one has ever called me back and no one could re-route this package (let me point out that both UPS and FedEx offers this service if the package has already been shipped off). It now has been 6 days since being returned to me and still no updates on the website and no package sent back to me. It was told to me that the address on the package was possibly smudged and they couldn't read the address. How it could pass through two sorting facilities and not returned because of the unreadable address infuriates me because that indicates that the package was left out in the rain, because it left my location with a perfectly legible address.

Here are the details. Orders from eBay, two packages. One came, one did not but USPS tracking says both delivered same day. One scanned 11:34, other 11:35. He did not arrive at my box until about 11:50 or 11:55. I was told nothing can be done because it is his word against mine. And since she has had no complaints against him, she believes him. Well, I can certainly appreciate her loyalty to her worker. I think as a customer I should have been given a better answer. Then she said talking to postmaster won't help me. In a twelve-day span, the USPS sorting facility in the Springfield Mass. has destroyed and lost three parcels. I have called and spoken to twelve customer service agents and have spent at least six hours in cell phone time. I have also called Consumer Affairs office in Hartford and DC and still no help. For the last 2 years, I have been sending small items the size of jewelry boxes via (first class parcel) in an 8.5 X 11 yellow envelope. I have never had a problem in any way, shape or form. The reason I put the boxes in an Envelope is because I use Click-N-Ship and the boxes are too small for the label so I put them in a large 8.5 X 11 mailer. It seems very funny to me that for the last two years I have had no problems but now that the USPS made all their "new changes" that three items going to different parts of the country all were lost and destroyed in MASS sorting facility.
I'm convinced three things have either happened. One is that a new employee that has no skills is sorting the wrong way. Two, a new machine is sorting and destroying mail. Or Three, the USPS wants me to use bigger boxes to accommodate their huge Click-N-Ship label to hike up the postage weight and make more money off of consumers so they just throw my First class PARCEL in with regular mail and the machine thinks it's a letter and destroys it. When I purchase first class parcel, the option states "Package or thick envelope," also when I go to the post office to send my Click-N-Ship mail, the clerk makes me re-weigh and checks all my parcels.
Another weird question. Is Click-N-Ship supposed to eliminate standing in line to see a clerk? They will not accept my parcels any other way. The reason I mention this is because if a clerk is inspecting what I am mailing, should they not let me know that the way I am sending my parcels will be destroyed?? I'm sick of the USPS. They are rude. I had a customer service agent recently tell me that "sending mail these days is a 50/50 gamble and you might as well mail hundred dollar bills to unknown addresses". Wow. I remember back ten years ago postal workers were only cranky but now they just don't care at all. My father was a postal clerk for over 35 years and he had no faith in his own company. These people are paid very well and have great benefits but they are some of the most miserable people in the world.
One more thing. Just look at this tracking of a parcel I sent to a town in my own state not 40 miles from my town. The short of it is the item went from CT to NJ to MA then back to NJ just to be sent to CT where the shipment first originated. Talk about Government Spending. I guess they like to burn fuel. MAKES NO SENSE.

My mother sent me a package and insured the package for 150.00. Shipping was around 37.77. The content was worth more than that. A Cuisinart Food Processor and KitchenAid large pot. The items arrived damaged. The pot was bent and had scratches on the outside of the pot like it got stuck on something. It had to be tough to bend the pot, something very heavy had to be put on the box and the mixing bowl to the food processor was broken. Both of these items are unusable. I filed a claim for the amount of the insurance. I sent pictures and even had to take my items to the post office for inspection by the postmaster. I thought that was why you purchased insurance to protect you in case something happens to your package while in the care of the post office. The claim was denied because I did not prove value of the items. I appealed and provided value. The appeal was denied by the post office but they did not give me a reason. I am now on my second and final appeal and 3 months later. This is very frustrating. All I want is the money to replace the items which 150.00 will not even cover!

Do not ever use the US Postal service - I twice paid for EXPRESS mail (which costs a bundle and includes shipping number). The first time they shipped it to the wrong state where it floated around in their sorting facility for 3 weeks before being delivered to the correct state. The second time, they tried to deliver to a business on Saturday (I shipped on Friday), but of course the business was closed. But rather than just deliver it on Monday, they marked it as undeliverable and it sat in their post office for several days. And I had to call them and wait on hold for over an hour just to ask them to re-schedule the delivery!?!?
Are they seriously trying to be as incompetent and lazy as possible?? Of course there are no bad consequences for them whatsoever, so they don't care, and their service will continue to get worse. The sooner the US Post Office goes out of business the better, because only then can we replace it with a system that actually works.

I was supposed to receive a package on 10/17/13 via 2-day priority mail. As of 10/21, there has been no updates/no package in sight. The last update was on 10/16. I called customer service and set up a case. 3 days later, I called again because I have received no updates and was advised to call consumer affairs, 253-214-1800, to report the lack of response to my case. The lady at customer affairs was rude and unhelpful. She said that the only thing I can do is wait for the arrival scan. She lied and said with that type of mail, there is no tracking except the acceptance/arrival scans.
I know she lied because I have mailed by priority mail with tracking many times. It scans the time of acceptance, time at arrival at sorting, time of departure at sorting, time of arrival at processing facility in my home, time, date out for delivery, etc. She did not want to help figure out where my package is. She was rude and hung up on me. I called back several times and was not able to get a hold of anyone. This customer service should not be acceptable, especially when she is being paid with taxpayper's money. If she hates her job so much, please quit. Customers expect help when they call consumer affairs, not a "just wait for the arrival" when the package is nowhere to be found and it is already 4-5 days past the scheduled delivery.

I sold a vintage Raiders hat worth over $100 on eBay and I shipped it from Fultondale, Alabama. It was going to a guy in Los Angeles. While tracking it, it arrived out the outside of L.A. called Bell Gardens, CA. Then it went from there all the way to Atlanta, Georgia where it has stayed for a week & that is where they send packages that are lost. That tracking # is still on it. Why can't they ship it back to my small town post office where I can claim it back? They don't want to do that and they probably sell lost items that are lost at sender's expense. I will never again ship something with USPS worth over $20 again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered 2 large items from China. I am well aware that you have to prepare to wait for a few weeks to receive your order. I waited, they were registered so I was able to track them, somewhat. They made it through Customs here, and USPS received them and with one of them, attempted delivery, but the seller was off on the very last number of the zip code. So, instead of reaching out to me and allowing me to come and pickup the item, they claim that they shipped it back to China. I haven't seen any tracking info to indicate that it left the post office to go back to China.
I opened a case less than 2 hours after receiving the notification that it wasn't able to be delivered as addressed but there seems to be a major issue with communications there... I called the local Main P.O. and after several tries was able to speak with someone who agreed that the package should be there and that she would send out an email to the Supervisors in the area to have them hold it for me. They closed my case with NO resolution. The SECOND package, which was shipped from China a week later, is STILL showing that it left Chicago but nothing more. These are registered!!
I have spent countless hours on hold waiting for people to speak with regarding these items, which are Halloween Costumes, so after Oct 31, they will be no good to me for another year. I suspect that I am just screwed out of a LOT of money. No one is willing to assist; I have left countless messages on the answering machine at the main Armistead PO and they don't bother to return calls. I haven't heard from ANYONE and it's been almost a month since they arrived in the US! China EMS, which supposedly is very untrustworthy, is apparently far more reliable than the US Postal Service. Sorry to speak ill of my Union Brothers and Sisters but I will never order anything or send anything via USPS again. There are too many other RELIABLE options.

Complaint is related to Military packages, rates and customer service. Very few post offices seem to stock APO/FPO boxes even when I ask for them they never order them. I have been to at least six post offices and they never have them. When I asked the postal employee to check if they have them, they are extremely bias and do not offer to order them. Also I get a different answer from postal employees every time for APO/FPO RATES.
Two postal employees told me I can only get the APO FPO rate if it was in the designated APO FPO box even with the military address clearly marked. So when I asked for an APO box, they said I would have to order them online. Another postal employee handed me a priority box and said I could use that one as long as it had the APO address on it; however when I went to the post office the next day, they told me I would need to pay the full priority rate. Whatever! Can we have some consistency please?
Soldiers are serving our country overseas and when loved ones want to send packages, the postal employees can’t be bothered to stock APO FPO boxes or know the rates etc...USPS SHAMEFUL support for the troops. Should always stock APO FPO boxes and be very knowledgeable about sending mail to our troops. Very poor service and knowledge base. Tsk, tsk...Disgusted Navy parent.

Background checks and drug testing should be done regularly as you have to be either completely stupid or high on something to work how these people work. In looking over the posts on this page, it's Obvious there is a common thread with postal workers stealing. There is no question about that.. I shipped 2 boxes priority mail to my son on the same day. One went out in the morning, the other went out in the afternoon. The first box was received by my son. The second box was supposedly delivered the next day. He came home at about 2 pm. The package was 'delivered' at noon. When he went to the post office to inquire, they just said it was probably gone and to file an insurance claim. I had about $200 in items for his first semester at college in the box, but thought that if lost, I would at least get $50 back. Since there was not a signature required (costs more), the box was left who knows where. Since it was a Saturday, the regular mailman was not doing the delivery. No one at the USPS seemed to care. Insurance claim was denied because it was shown as delivered. My son never saw the second box. Hence, I listed it as lost. I guess you can offer any as much insurance on a package as you want for advertising purposes and then not pay off for 'lost' packages like they said they would. From now on, anything of remote value will be shipped by a private company. No wonder why the USPS is going broke. There is no one there that cares about customer service.

I spent $40.40 on International postage, insurance, return receipt, registered to send a small package to RUSSIA. I insured the package for $200.00 the replacement value for the shipped items. The package was tendered to the USPS in April 2013. The package never arrived to RUSSIA. After many calls to the USPS consumer contact line, I was finally told there was a "fire in RUSSIA postal Office" in May 2013. After zero response from USPS, finally in Sept, I filed a PO claim paperwork for the missing items, sent all shipping paperwork receipts and claim forms expecting full-insured value of package due to "Post Office Failure of service." Still not getting any response from USPS.
On 10/15/13, I received a check for $70.09!!! Where's the rest?? I insured this package for $200.00. NEWS FLASH... There is a postal regulation that regardless of declared value, I will only receive $46.16, for my missing gold earrings that were supposedly insured for $200.00. NO ONE behind the counter at the post office ever bothered to mention this regulation to me when I submitted the box, and I paid for this additional insurance and got "pennies" for my missing gold earrings insured/registered for $200.00 replacement value. I will never send anything thru the US postal service... "INSURED". Use another carrier you can trust. Don't send anything with a replacement value over $46.16 because that's all you will get reimbursed for if the package comes up missing.

I am CEO/President of Sister of New Corp, a non-profit construction training program for low income women, women on welfare, and female veterans (www.sisterofnew.org). Sister of New Corp has very important supporters such as: Govern Rick Scott, Senator Bill Nelson, Commissioner Jorge Exposito, Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce, Department of Labor Oscar Fuentes, and Mr. ** Director of union construction apprenticeship program in Florida.
As you can see our mail is very important to us. On 9/26/2013 I contacted the Normandy post office located at 525 71st St Miami Beach, FL 33141, (305) 864-8155. The supervisor answer the phone. First she did not listen to my question, then she just hang the phone up on me. Of course I was upset and tried to file a complaint but at the same time I have some very important mail that I need to get early on Saturday. And I know that I can call and at least ask if I can come pick it up instead of having it deliver.
I finally called the supervisor back first thing she says is "Oh you the person that hung up on me". I just said "listen I have some important mail that I need to pick up on Saturday." I wanted to show her the pictures and tell her how the mail carrier leaves the mailbox wide open (pictures below), but again she was in a rush to get me off the phone. In a rude tone she say what’s the address, and hangs up. Here comes the worst part, I an injured union carpenter in local 926, and no car, had to walk from 86th to 71st Street, with an injured knee to get to post office. I get there just to be told that I did not receive any mail. The person at the counter explain how he called the carrier and she said I did not have any mail. Saturday night at around 8 PM, I received my mail along with the important mail I was waiting for. I feel like the carriers intentions was to steal my mail, and the supervisor set this up.
I have had a few other problems with the mail carriers that I have reported. I am concern since my 501 c3 is pending, and my case manager from Senator Bill Nelson’s Office will be calling IRS in behalf of Sister of New Corp. Mail is again very important to us. I would get a P.O. Box but as a non-profit with pending 501 c3, we have not gotten any grants as of yet. It seems I am not the only one that has had problems with this supervisor. The supervisor way of treating customers shows on her employees. When I went on Saturday morning to get my important mail, I could hear the other the employee tell the supervisor "I just told him to shut up and I walk away." The supervisor responds was "Thank you", while dealing with a customer!
This supervisor does not appreciate having such a respectful job, and it is clear that she does not care that giving away overtime pay for no reason is hurting the budget of the United States Postal Service. Removal of this supervisor is very much needed. Miami Beach is such a beautiful place and most businesses in area are very friendly and peaceful. Let’s get that friendliness going through out!

For the second time this year (6 months) I found that the local post office in Braham, MN has been sending my mail back to the senders without my knowing about it. I luckily got a notice from my insurance company that they had cancelled my homeowners insurance for no payment as they had sent it but it was returned. I have lived in the same address for over 20+ years. The local postmaster returns things if there isn't a PO box number on the envelope. I have tried to notify others to use my PO number but I have no idea how many people or businesses out there do not have it until I get something in the mail. I have never had this problem in the 25+ years I have lived here until the past year when a new postmaster took over. I went in and made sure I introduced myself to her (we are a small town). Now I hear of a lot of others who are having the same problem.
When I went over to ask her about the issue she was short and rude and just said it wasn't her problem. It was the sender's problem. I complained over her head and nothing changed. Well today I called over head again to the Consumer Affairs department that handles complaints. You guessed it. I was made to feel that it isn't their fault. The senders have to do it right and it isn't their problem, but they will get back to me on it.
I will continue to complain about this same problem again and again until they show a little respect as well as common sense here. It is no wonder they are losing money. I now take important packages and mail to another town to ensure that it will be sent out, plus I have been trying to cut back on using the USPS as much as possible due their attitudes. Whatever happen to common sense, it has become so rare nowadays that it is mistaken as genius.

MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS REGARDING SAME ISSUE! I have made several attempts to solve the issue of my postal carrier withholding my mail. Apparently, my postal worker issued an order to hold my mail for failure to clean out my mailbox in July of 2013. The box is now cleaned out on a regular basis, yet the mailman still continues to have my mail sent to a post office clear across town with inconvenient hours, despite the fact that I have a secured mailbox at the end of my driveway! Everyone I have asked to help me solve this dilemma has been very unhelpful. When I went to the post office on 501 Delaware St., New Castle, DE 19720 on 9/16, I was told my mail wasn't there and was given a phone number to call a supervisor.
When I spoke with Post Master Donna ** on 9/17, she was very abrasive and unhelpful and told me to go back to the post office I had just came from to get my mail. I advised her I had already gone there and my mail wasn't there. I stated I wanted the hold taken off my mail, for service to resume, and I needed all my accumulated mail since 7/2013. She stated she would attempt to find my mail and call back and she didn't. Still I did not receive my mail. I went back to the same post office on 9/30 and this time was given a huge bin of mail with mail in there dated 9/25 and 9/26 "Hold". Why was the mail continuing to be held when I spoke with a supervisor on 9/17 and told her I wanted my mail service to resume? I called back on 9/30 and spoke with a supervisor named ** who said she would look into it and call me back. When she didn't call back and I called her back on 10/3, she claimed the postal worker told her he had delivered mail to me the day before and then she gave me a lecture about not cleaning out the box in July.
I assured her the box will be cleaned out but need mail service to resume in order to clean out the box. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am about not receiving my mail. I have lost utility service, missed important legal paperwork that required signatures, am not receiving bi-weekly workman's comp checks, and am not receiving deliveries of ordered merchandise. I have complained online on 9/16 and 9/17 and not received a response to those complaints, yet I received an email asking if I was satisfied with the website! I will soon be contacting the U.S. Post Master General and my local Congressman to see if they can assist. I am a US Citizen and have a right to timely mail delivery. I have lived in my place of residence for 15 years and never had a problem with mail delivery until this latest postal worker took over my route. I feel he is being spiteful by continuing to hold my mail when the box is now checked on a daily basis.
The postal worker is at fault for not delivering the mail. His supervisors are at fault for being rude, abrasive and unprofessional when speaking with me on the phone and for not apologizing to me, disciplining the worker, and resolving my issue. Per a customer service rep that I spoke with named Rochelle at the Main Customer Service number for the USPS on Oct 12, 2013, the local branch is receiving my online complaints and noting them as resolved without having made contact with me or actually resolving the situation! Rochelle also confirmed that as of 10/12/2013, the HOLD was still in effect on my mail despite my numerous calls to the branch at 302-328-6472 since 9/16/2013 and having spoke with Post Master Donna ** and Supervisor ** who works the 10am-6pm shift. If you have the authority to pull the tape of the calls I've made to this postal branch, you would be shocked and appalled to hear how these supervisors talk to customers calling to resolve their mail delivery issues!
Donna ** never let me get a word in edgewise during our conversation and hung up with the threat that I better not let my mail accumulate again or else she will continue to advise the postal worker to hold my mail. Apparently, she followed through on that threat because I spoke with her on 9/17/2013 and still am not receiving my mail as of today, 10/13/2013. When I stopped by the post office on 9/30, they had a whole bin of my mail there with handwritten notes on the envelopes that said "hold 9/26" and "hold 9/27". Why would she continue to hold my mail without giving me a chance to retrieve it from my mailbox? When I initially spoke with ** on 9/30, she appeared to be slightly more helpful than Donna and claimed she would look into my situation. When she didn't call back within 2 days as she promised and I called her back, she stated what I already knew, that the mail had been held for failure to clean out the box.
I explained that occurred in July because we had a death in our family and she stated there were 5 circulars in the box which indicated to her that 5 weeks’ worth of mail had been left in the box. I again explained the situation and advised ** we will make sure the box is cleaned out from now on but it is imperative that our mail delivery resume due to our attorney is sending important legal paperwork and death claim benefits info and checks. She stated the mail carrier told her he had resumed delivering our mail. When a week went by and I still did not receive mail, I called ** back and this time she was openly hostile. At one point, she screamed at me to stop calling her everyday because she cannot help me. I still cannot believe she said that since I had only spoken to her two other times and I would not call her back at all if my mail situation had been resolved! I informed ** I intended to file a complaint with the US Postmaster and asked her for her last name and the name of the postal carrier that was being defiant by still not delivering my mail.
** refused to give me both, then sat the phone down while I was still speaking with her! I waited 5 minutes on a silent open line before someone named Ashley came on the line and told me to go to the 501 Delaware St branch of the post office to pick up my mail and to call back at 8am the next day to speak with a different supervisor, **. I called ** at 8am 10/10 and left a message for him with someone named **. I explained the entire situation to ** and she said ** would call me back by 10:30 that same day. As of today, 10/13, ** still has not returned my call. Out of frustration, I called the main customer service number back on 10/12 and spoke with Rochelle who was the most helpful person throughout this entire ordeal. Rochelle read through all online complaints I had filed, explained the local branch was receiving the complaints and marking them as resolved and she gave me the phone number for Consumer Affairs.
We also called the local branch together and she mediated a conversation between me and **. ** lifted the hold off my mail, claimed I would have no further problems with mail delivery, and advised me to go to the local branch at 501 Delaware St to retrieve the mail that was still being held there. I NEED MY MAIL and hope this situation has finally been resolved but in the meantime, I am very dissatisfied with the service I received from the mail carrier and how my complaints were handled by the management team at this post office branch. Therefore, I would like to file a formal complaint against the branch and the management team. Thank You.

I went to the post office to pick up my parcel at 3:00 pm and was told it wasn't there and referred to call the number printed on the delivery notice to speak to a supervisor. I called the number and the recorded message response was: "No one is available, please call again." So I called the 1-800 number printed on the notice and reschedule delivery for the next day (10/11/12). The mail was not delivered before I had to leave for work in the afternoon, so I wrote in the #3 line for redelivery, Saturday 10/12/13.
I waited until mail delivery and when the carrier arrived, she said she didn't have my parcel and had no idea where my parcel could be, and that there was nothing she could do. I noticed that in the "Delivery Section" on the "Printed Name" line under the signature line, someone's name is printed there, and on the "Delivery Address" line there is a crossed out address, then my address is printed next to that. The order was originally placed 9/13/13, shipped 9/17/13, and according to tracking records delivered 9/25/13. It was supposed to be a birthday gift for my granddaughter's first birthday on October 1st. No one seems to know what to do and doesn't care. On 9-11-13 I sent a package to Texas. I called the USPS and they said to give it 12 days before I went to file a claim. It is now 13 days later and I went to the branch located at 1950 NE 6th St Pompano Beach, FL 33060 where the nasty supervisor told me to ask the person receiving the mail to go find it at her post office. My aunt had to drive to the post office to go get mail that was suppose to be "delivered"!! I don’t pay for her to have to find it! Regardless, it was not at her post office. My letter which had a necklace in it is gone and the supervisor at the Pompano Beach branch told me "I didn't steal it".
On 9-24-13 after waiting for my letter to maybe magically reappear, I called the post office general to which the customer service rep. said "She ain't stole nuthin." Okay! Someone would be calling me to follow up I was told. It is now 9-30-13 and no one ever called (I call everyday asking when I will receive this phone call). Today (9-30-13) I spoke to the supervisor. She told me "Maybe the necklace fell out." Wow, if it fell out where is the letter? How did the letter even get to the sorting facility if everything just fell out? Ignorance at its peak. Why didn't my aunt get the empty letter without the stolen contents. Excuses, excuses, excuses.
The customer rep supervisor was so arrogant and rude I couldn't believe it! Not one person I have dealt with at the post office has been pleasant! I said I want to escalate my claim to which I was told since I didn't get insurance there is nothing they can do. I did they get tracking and it says it never left Pompano sorting facility for 16 days! They find this to be perfectly okay. I was also informed they would not reimburse me to the postage paid either as they are not responsible for not delivering my stolen mail. They are also very careful in not labeling it as stolen. It is misplaced according to them (which is perfectly okay by their standards).
I never got a phone call from the post office general. I have now called Consumer Affairs (305) 470-0890. It feels like I am calling a prison program that handles phone calls for the USPS. Doesn't anyone courteous work there anymore. Forget "Neither Snow nor Rain nor Heat nor Gloom of Night Can Stop the U.S. Postal Service". Their new motto should be "I ain't stole it and there's nuthin I can do."

On 9/24 a letter was sent to my home regarding the requirement for mail to be picked up. The reason for this was that our pit bull broke out the fence and ALMOST attacked the mail lady. I didn't have a chance to apologize because the woman left while the police told us about the incident. Today, we surrendered our family dog to avoid any further incidents. I took a notice to the post office stating the surrender info. I asked for mail. The first employee passed the info to another employee. He came to the front counter, addressed me as the "pit bull people," unprofessionally began to criminalize me in front of other employees and customers about the vicious dog. Then he withheld my mail and said that only the postmaster could release my mail when it says nothing of the sort in the letter. He was rude and tried to address other complaints made against our dog that I had no knowledge of.
I asked for my mail and he said no, he would not give it to me. He stated the postmaster would not be back until after the weekend. I left and called the office and was told the postmaster was on a call. I'm not sure if the postmaster was in on withholding my mail. My main concern is mail tampering by this post office that obviously will be handling my mail. I don't appreciate the employee's unprofessional demeanor, discrimination, and behavior. I contacted headquarters to file a complaint and supposedly they will address this. However that still leaves them in charge of my mail/property. Please help.

More than a month ago, I had a very unpleasant experience at my local post office. A package I was waiting urgently, sat at the office for 4 days! When I dared to express my disappointment, I was yelled at by the postmaster in a manner totally unacceptable and unprofessional. She was yelling so loudly that people coming to pick up their mail turned around and left without doing so! I complained to consumer affairs demanding an apology and to this day I haven't heard a thing. Somebody must have talked to this postmaster because now, when I pick up my mail, she looks at me with a smirk on her face. We don't have mail delivery. Our only choice is to pick up our mail at the post office. It certainly looks like the postal service doesn't give a damn about customer service ... Why should they, we are stuck with them (to a certain extent). No wonder they are going down the tubes!

My son, who is currently on deployment with the US NAVY, mailed me a package on June 24 containing souvenirs that he purchased while in Thailand. On July 3, 2013, the package was scanned at the Richmond, California sorting facility (saying the package had "arrived" at that facility). But that's as far as the "tracking" went: There was no "scan" that said the package had departed that facility... and the package presently seems to be LOST!!! I've never received it and the only thing USPS seems to be doing is they gave me a "case" number. I've even emailed the Postmaster General, regarding this problem, but have NOT received a response. When I "googled" the Richmond, CA sorting facility there were many, many, horror stories (complaints) saying the facility is the "black hole" of packages: Packages disappear once they arrive at that facility...and it's been going-on for YEARS!!! No one seems able to help me find, and retrieve, that package and I'm extremely disappointed in USPS! If there were another way to send, and receive, packages to AP FPO addresses, I would definitely use it rather than trust USPS! I want the package that my sailor son sent me nearly 3 months ago! And I'm not getting any help from USPS!

This is an update from my 6/23/13 post about my local post office placing my mail in the wrong p.o. box for three weeks causing me to miss an unemployment hearing and all income from 6/02/13 until 9/17/13.
The state of NY finally allowed my U.I. hearing to take place on 9/17/13 after I missed my 6/05/13 hearing due to the post office placing my original hearing notification and all of my mail in the wrong p.o. box above mine from mid May to June. I obtained a certified letter of explanation and apology from the post office worker and filed a complaint with the postmaster general the following day. They opened an investigation and issued a case number to me. About three weeks later they sent me an email admitting to the error but claiming that they are not responsible for mistakes made by individual post offices as if they are privately owned and operated. They closed the case without even saying sorry.
Even though I won my U.I. hearing I suffered financially in ways that I could not have imagined after four months without income. I am completely disgusted with USPS. and I will welcome any advise regarding legal action.

I paid almost $4 to send a letter via certified mail one state over. The entire point of certified mail is to receive confirmation that the item has been delivered. Online shipping status has been sitting at "sorting complete" for four days. Letter should have definitely been delivered by now. Call USPS customer service hotline. Takes five minutes to get in line to talk to a person. Wait on hold for 20 minutes. Mumbling woman with extremely apathetic attitude answers phone. I tell her the situation.
Me: "The letter should have been delivered by now. It's one state over and it's been almost a week."
Her: "Well it hasn't been delivered. I don't know why."
Me: "Do I get a refund if the postal service never confirms delivery? Isn't that is the entire point of certified mail?"
Her: "Kind of... You can't have a refund. You should have paid extra for delivery confirmation if you wanted to know the letter was delivered."
Me: "My receipt for certified mail says, verbatim, 'Certified mail provides a record of delivery by the Postal Service.' Why would I not get a refund if you fail to confirm delivery?"
Her: "Because the letter hasn't been delivered."
What?? This letter has definitely been lost or an employee failed to scan it in at the final destination. Either way, this is not acceptable and customer service was not in the least bit apologetic for their mistake or my waste of money. Government at its finest, people.

As a business we typically ship FEDEX or UPS for Next Day Delivery. Decided to try USPS Priority Express Mail service which is touted to be the US Postal Service equivalent. $15-$30 less than FEDEX Next Day Priority Delivery. It is supposedly Guaranteed On-time Delivery, Money Back Guarantee - sounds good? WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
PATHETIC ON ALL LEVELS - USPS FAILS MISERABLY- GRADE: F-. Shipped several packages for overnight/next day delivery and from what I can tell, none have shipped or arrived "on-time". I had no idea how badly the Post Office was performing until I happened to have two urgent packages I followed up by phone with the recipient. There were two packages, one shipped 19th, arrived 24th. Second shipped 23rd, still not delivered as of 24th.
The "system" supposedly showed that 1st package was delivered next day at 10:31 AM. Not true since the recipient is a professional business who regularly receives packages from domestic as well as international shippers and works on tight deadlines. I too am a business who relies on Next Day Delivery Services to meet business requirements. I was told "WE" were fabricating the delayed delivery. Yes, this was a great way to make $18 - split two ways is a whopping $9! Also that I waived the right for proof of delivery by declining the need for signature. NEVER have I selected signature NOT REQUIRED because we depend on guarantee of delivery on ANY NEXT DAY shipments. As a business, we spend an excess of $160K for logistics and express shipping annually - not a newbie to shipping.
The second package was shown in their "system" as still in the same state, yet to make it to the delivery state and certainly no update on expected delivery. I was told it was my fault for dropping off my package in Carol Stream, IL and not at the post office the label was generated. The label was created online, paid online, and dropped off at the local PO. Now the extremely rude and unapologetic PO worker told me it was my fault for driving 35 miles to a town I have never been to and dropping off the package there. Why would I do that? I told her absolutely not, and she refuted me by saying that is what the "system" is telling her. She had other questions mainly insinuating that I made the mistakes or the other PO at which time I ran out of patience and told her that the discussion was idiotic and she was wasting my time.
I spent an unfortunate 30 minutes on the phone with one manager, and even the Post Master who told me that I had to collect documentation showing a copy of the envelope received by the recipient, as well as my own receipts, get in line at the PO "in person" to collect my MONEY-BACK guarantee. RIGHT. I generated my own label and paid, ALL ONLINE, and now I was supposed to spend another 30 minutes in line to get my money back. The Post Master was a jerk who added unapologetically, that was what I had to do if I wanted my money back.
While I know some good folks who work at the local PO - but those who answer the phone are apathetic ** who should be out of a job. Especially the Post Master since he should know better - and adding insult to injury, every time I was on hold, I had to listen to their commercial about how great Priority Express Mail was!!! !
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A FAKE SERVICE THAT RELIES ON YOUR LACK OF TIME AND PATIENCE TO "FORGET ABOUT IT"! That is your MONEY-BACK SO-CALLED GUARANTEE.
I just wasted another 15 minutes typing this up but it was the responsible thing to do. I want to warn other businesses as well as individuals who think they might be saving money by using this service not to waste their time. THE LOSS OF TIME, MONEY, PRODUCTIVITY IS PAINFULLY GREAT.

I just checked out GovDeals.com today, September 22, 2013, which is now auctioning off all 'recovered' items in the Atlanta, Georgia mail recovery center. This deal they made with GovDeals.com starting last August and taking effect in April was unconstitutional because it was not approved by Congress. I noticed the vast majority of supposedly unclaimed books are STILL being sorted ONLY by hard-cover and soft-cover. A few lots of text and reference books are sorted more neatly. What does this mean to the American postal customers? The emphasis CONTINUES to be on auctioning off lost items instead of returning them to the owners. So regular postal customers who have lost shipments of books would have to buy an entire lot of books starting at around $2,000 just to recover their own books, if they happen to see them lying on top of the piles in the box. This is still EXTORTION. I think I will look into a petition to get the center moved to another state.

So, I called the Consumer Affairs Department and the lady said to me, "Well in all the years, how many times did we lose it?" That's not the point! It shouldn't be lost at all...
Even at my home address, I receive mail for other streets. At my business, I had a letter carrier that was putting my mail at the other businesses in the plaza. My business neighbors had to "deliver" the mis-delivered mail to me. So, I wrote the names of the businesses and the owners down for the carrier in different colors yet, and the carrier still mis-delivered the mail. It took 2-3 complaints with the Post Office with just that carrier. Then, after that one, the new carrier put my bill at another one of the businesses in the plaza. Each business is adequately marked. I have a 10 ft. sign on my unit that I rent. It requires reading and effort. Finally, that did get resolved. However, when I called the Post Office in question to deal with the issue, the postal worker hung up on me.
It's a shame that as citizens we pay for postage, and it's a crap shoot if the items get delivered or not. The prices go up, but the service is far from desirable. It is my hope that people will start sending e-mail cards (they're free) for all occasions, and pay their bills over the phone or set up an internet account. Maybe then the Postal Service will improve their service when they go to raise their prices.

I went in through my back door and opened the front door and picked up the package and notice that it was very light. I turned it over to see where it came from because I knew it was too light to be my blades. When I turned it over, I saw that the package had been damaged and was untaped at the bottom. I sent the seller an email and he guaranteed that the package was secured well and the blades were definitely inside the package when he shipped it. I called the local Post Office and spoke to the Post Master, who was very nice. She said that she would question the postman that delivered the package and check their office for the blades. I filled out the form and email it back to the local postmaster as she requested. I called the local postmaster again a week later to check the status and she said the form was forwarded to another office and to call the number on the form for any questions and there was nothing more she could do. This has been an perpetual dilemma with the USPS starting 3.5 years ago. The high-rise condo building in our community has an address of 8820 Shining Oceans Way Columbia, MD 21045. Our home in the same community is a single family townhome unit and in no way is connected to the high rise condo building. Our address is ** Columbia, MD 21045. This problem caused extensive damage with our creditors of accounts we have held for years prior to moving into Snowden Overlook Community. This problem is one of simplistic in nature as it only requires an individual to "READ" the address correctly, nothing more! Instead, this lingered on for months and even now after 3.5 years, it continues to resurface periodically.
Our bills, notices, checks and packages were being delivered every other week to an occupant at 8820 Shining Ocean Way bearing a similar last name of **. This person initially was kind enough to bring mail around the corner to our home. Then it became so frequent that she complained as well as my wife and I complained. We requested a letter from the USPS as to confirmation of misdelivery of mail containing bills that were due, but were denied a letter of admission. As a result, we had to close a Home Depot account of 8-10 years due to bills being returned as "NOT AT THIS ADDRESS". Creditors of accounts, car loans, etc. assumed we had moved with no forwarding address as a result of this action.
I employ you to intercede in our behalf to place a stop to this insanity. It has lingered entirely too long. Promises from the Columbia Post office manager only seem to temporarily band-aid the situation. Whomever the employee(s) are that cannot disseminate/differentiate the two addresses properly should be reprimanded or retrained/retested. If an individual were attempting to pursue employment at the USPS, undoubtedly, they would not have been hired having failed the address similarity section of the employment test.

My husband purchased our home in Jan 2012. We've been pretty happy with our wonderful community, for the most part. However, just recently, we feel as if we're being harassed by the USPS. Our mail carrier has been harassing us to move the mailbox - writing on our letters, leaving our mailbox dangling, and refusing to deliver mail. Recently, I was with a dog that I am helping my parents watch over while they are ill. The carrier bent over to pet my dog. Shortly after, I received a notice that was noted as second notice that my dog attacked her. This is absurd, as my dog is always indoors except for the day when I was out with her. My husband and I work 6-7 days a week in very demanding jobs and have not had a chance to respond timely. Below is a summary of what has occurred:
Mail has been missing - I've confirmed by family and retail purchases have not been delivered. Mail has been reduced to weekly. Mailbox was left "dangling" on several occasions. The same carrier has harassed my family - stating that we are to move our mailbox. This message was scribbled on our letters. On a date when I was out with my dog, the carrier later claimed that my dog harassed her; however, I was present and did not witness this. Instead, the carrier petted my dog and instigated by the carrier. Now all mail is on hold. My husband asked for a copy of the letter from the USPS. They advised us that it's too bad we lost it. They will not provide another one, but we have to respond to it if we would like to get our mail.
This is ridiculous as we've not been able to get mail for many weeks now. I cannot access my bills, medication, or check book that I've ordered and need these urgently. Please let me know if there's anything that can be done to escalate this matter.

So I'll try to write what I am feeling about the four recent issues I have experienced with them this week: Lost items, misdelivered items, damaged items and the Dallas sorting facility. There was a time I actually believed the post office would lose (very many) things, but lately, their batting average is pretty bad. They have delivered about 6 out of 10 things correctly. Yeah, it costs me money and it's heartbreaking, but the part that bothers me the most is what happens when the Post Office is so bad, that it is no longer an option for someone to send something or expect to receive their mail.
I have to admit, the Post office did a great job of delivering those Bank of America mortgage settlement check to homes that had ALREADY BEEN FORECLOSED UPON. But in my case, my neighbors and I swap mail all the time that is mine or theirs, or I understood the local dysfunction early on getting my mail, or not getting my mail, but basically just resigned to, I hope I get the RIGHT mail sometimes... That was four years ago. Now, as I jump back into eBay selling, I am horrified, and what am I going to do? FedEx and UPS, but only because I have no choice. No wonder those companies have been so successful. They have been subsidized by the incompetence of the USPS.
Oh, and Dallas sorting facility, you are the problem... a very big problem, for details... see below. Somewhere out there a politician and a FedEx or UPS lobbyist are howling at their prey. FedEx... get it... To think I used to like Lance Armstrong too...

The Carol Stream location delivered the EMPTY envelope to the Elk Grove Village, Illinois post office who stamped that it was empty & put that empty envelope in my mailbox. I went to the Schaumburg, IL Post Office who said they can't help me & I should contact the Elk Grove Village, IL Post Office to ask them what happened to the contents of my envelope.
I called the Elk Grove Village, IL Office who yelled at me and said I'm out of luck, they didn't lose my stuff and it must have been the Schaumburg, IL office who is responsible. I then drove to the Carol Stream Office, waited in line with the empty envelope and when I got to the counter the employee laughed at me and said there is nothing they can do. I said I needed to locate the contents of this envelope and it only makes sense that the contents were THERE at their location and how do I find it. She left the counter for about 10 minutes, came back & said I should call the 800# to complain. While I stood there crying she then blamed the School District saying the envelope was ripped open because it was not strong enough (it is a standard manila envelope and was taped shut with clear packing tape).
I went to my vehicle and called the 800# who also laughed at me and said they can't help me either and I should call Consumer Affairs and they should make someone be held accountable. I immediately called Consumer Affairs. The representative I talked to asked for my name and phone number and said the Post Office shouldn't have told me to call them.
NO ONE at all 3 post offices even asked for my name or contact information. When I asked for a supervisor at the Elk Grove & Carol Stream locations they told me NO. I called the 800# back several days later & they again told me if the mail was lost it is not their problem and the Carol Stream location should do something about it.
I am now sitting here with an empty envelope and my daughter's school work probably in the garbage. No one cares one bit about this. The envelope was torn open at one of their locations and a large flexi-file filled with school work was put somewhere and that is it. No one even cares to even pretend to LOOK for this for me. My daughter is crushed and I am devastated and angry.

I have lost money having to resend these out but customer satisfaction is important. One person emailed me back to let me know they received theirs almost 20 days later after postmarked!!!! I have had 2 Priority packages that I paid 12 and 15 dollars for through two different companies, travel up and down the east coast to only arrive here 5 days later. I now have a first class certified letter that has been processed and departed Brooklyn twice in 3 days now. My mail is misdelivered to other houses. I was put on hold, then was told that he spoke with my carrier and that the carrier knows us by name and that he would look out for, and check if they had fallen out, and I asked what then? He replied by saying, "The carrier would put them in your mail box, and if there are none to be found then it would be your word against his."
Before calling the Salinas Post Office I made several calls to The National Subscription office regarding the American Bagger magazines, and I was told that the magazines were and have been sent to the confirmed address and that they have not received any returned undelivered magazine. The magazines in question are June, July and August and maybe September because as of right now it has not been delivered. The mystery is that I was receiving magazines before and now I'm not. I don't like to accuse someone of being dishonest but I would like to get to the bottom this once and for all. And if you can help us it would be greatly appreciated.

It has been just over a year since I moved from Salt Lake City to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I shipped all my books except a few by media mail, with insurance. Although every box was packaged and labeled neatly the same way, 3 boxes of books did not make it. When I was informed that lost items get sent to Atlanta Georgia, I was still hopeful they would be returned, as they were piano and other music books I had saved to teach piano, as well as high school yearbooks and books inherited from my grandmother WITH MY NAME on a good percentage of them. I waited the required number of days and filled out a detailed search form with color copies of as many books as I could find on the internet. Guess what? 90 days later, nothing was returned.
Guess what else I found out? The main issue is the unconstitutional and dishonest behavior of the lost mail department in Atlanta, Georgia when it comes to lost items with re-sale value. Most people would expect that the lost mail department should sort lost items by date of arrival, type of item, subject matter (when it comes to books), etc. and yet in reality their sorting is haphazard at best. In addition, the lost mail department tried to contract with GovDeals.com to start auctioning off supposedly unclaimed items, without Congressional approval. The lost mail department's negligence in shoddy sorting was exposed when the first photos of lots of so-called 'lost' books were posted on GovDeals.com in April. I saw for myself photos of how books were merely sorted by hard cover and soft cover, piled in huge boxes. One in four photos was fuzzy.
As a postal customer, I was aghast, because I really thought I would at least get my yearbooks back or even a few books after waiting for over 90 days. At the time I had thought, "Well, there were just too many books for them to see on the shelves." However, if books are not sorted so that anything can even be found, the department is guilty of committing insurance fraud, and that needs to be figured into the $15.9 billion loss as well, because postal customers will not do repeat business with postal workers who just pile up items to auction them off and expect insurance reimbursements to cover their negligence.
Congressman Darrell Issa of California got a bill passed in July in the House to reform the USPS and put them under supervision the next two years until they show 'a profit.' But what I think is: if you had a ranch, and your ranch foreman started auctioning off the ranch without your approval, would you keep him and merely 'supervise' him? Congress should move the Georgia center or open another. I have suggested this to several Senators in states with lower per capita incomes than Georgia, but more people need to hold their elected representatives responsible, as the USPS answers directly to Congress. It also answers to Pres. Obama, but I'm pretty sure no one has kept him up to date on this. It's more than just lost stuff. It's bankrupting the USPS just as surely as the decreased mail volume and pre-funded retirements benefits.

Soon after they arrived, I asked him what he thought about a few of the records I had sent him. The response I got? "I never received those records." Hmmmm........ I asked him to double check and triple check the contents of the boxes for the records I 100% knew I had sent. They weren't there. One of the LP's I had actually paid $30 just to send it to my friend. My friend thought I might have been mistaken and then it hit me. Media Mail. We have sent numerous packages to our son - (our only child who is a United States Marine stationed in Japan), in the past from this postal substation location - Card Smart 9431 E 22nd St Ste 10, Tucson, AZ 85710 - phone number: (520) 733-9773. All have been received until now. Being in the States, there is not much we can do (as parents) for him other than rely on the postal system to send him goods with the intention of only love and care. That is the way we contribute to his well-being. On June 29th, 2013, my husband attempted to send a big box to him containing snacks, an electronic back up device, socks, paperwork and homemade banana bread (which is now pretty yucky!). This was a fee for about $23 cash (maybe less - as they don't take debit - only check or cash - have the receipt though).
My husband, Frank, mentioned to the postal clerk he was in Japan and the clerk at that time told him the address was APO NOT FPO and it was changed. My son has never had problems receiving any mail at the FPO address - ever. He surely KNOWS his OWN address and since he has received it before from this postal sub-station - he felt confident in mailing. However, today, changes all!! My son did inform me after returning from his training, he NEVER received my package on this date of July 27th, 2013. The clerk (**) working at your substation on that Saturday - (not very happy appearing -same man that had helped us before though,) stated that the address we were sending my son's package to was wrong and it needed to be an APO address an AA/AE/AO code added to it? It was explained they had sent packages before and none of this was ever even suggested - My son got his packages just fine in February or March and without his suggested alterations and they got the money via (check) for all four or five packages.
The Clerk (**) was a seemingly unhappy clerk on this particular Saturday stating overseas mail could not be sent until the following Monday - insisting my husband change to an APO address he provided. Mr. Grouchy Pants (**) handed a card and instructions to call "Donna" on it regarding his NEED to change the address on Monday. Tried to call the following Monday - no answer - left message on machine, though. My son's package was left, thinking it would be sent with no further problems - as the other ones I had sent went through and arrived with no problems - but was worried about the clerks insistence to change the APO address and add codes because of his very "dry" attitude". Spoke to my son and he stated the address provided needed no changes.
He is a US Marine working in the Postal Department - pretty sure he knows the address (FPO) he provided is good. Being a little concerned however, I did try to call twice the number on the card and left a message to Donna the following Monday but did not get an answer or a response regarding my son's package for my Marine - your fighter. I thought then (after Card Smart failed to return my call) - the packages would just be sent anyway. I did not worry - since my son had received packages from their establishment previously (costing almost $100). In the interim, my son has been in training and has recently returned back to his Japan address - a month later had passed and he still had no package.
In that box that was shipped from the Card Smart location on that Saturday - is not only rotted banana bread but his father's birthday gift (which he needs to finish). Unreal! Have you ever sent a care package to someone you really do care about to not be received after near two months? Very Sad, we think. We are left to wonder. In July I contacted the owner "Donna" again who informed me because it needed 14 more business days (because of the holiday on the 4th) we had to wait. She would call me back and that the package was being tracked. Here it is August 23, 2013 - I called Card Smart and asked for "Donna" who I was told was not in and I could call the Main Post Office at 520-388-5230 to track packages. I called and spoke to the nicest post office employee, Rebecca, who explained to me we should have been provided a tracking number at the time we sent the package and to call Card Smart back and request that so I could track it online.
I did call and ** yelled at me that they do not provide tracking numbers on APO or FPO addresses. He said he had no idea where my package to my son was and curtly hung up. I immediately called back the Main Post Office and fortunately, got Rebecca again. I explained my bad experience with ** and she told me I could contact this Department for assistance. I am a collector for a large bank and get yelled at a lot and get paid for it - however, on my days off, I do not appreciate being yelled at by someone who informs me the postal service is wrong and no tracking number is required. I am so upset at this point. It was a "care package" to my only child who is so very, very far away and in it was a project - a birthday present for his 60-year-old father - the electronic device. How do you show you care at this distance when the postal service provided is not reliable and yells at their customers when they are at fault? Can you please help us? Thank you for your time and consideration in this very important matter.

WELL AT LEAST THAT'S WHERE IT DISAPPEARS FOR A DAY OR TWO, until I complain and then magically the package will show up in a couple of days with the box beaten so bad that it looks like a big wad of paper that has been taped backed together. Of course the inside parts have been scattered with always parts missing.
I ship all of my packages from a post office at work in a different county "because 25% of my packages end up damaged or missing when I ship from my local post office" and have never had a problem on the 10 to 12 packages a week that I shipped. The concern is I purchase and sell collectibles and I know the postal employees know it. My question is does anyone know of a way to stop my package contents from being stolen. I have contacted USPS several times, the busted box shows up in a couple of days and I never hear from them again.

So after buying a product from someone living on the East Coast, they decided to ship with USPS. I was a little skeptical, but last week both packages I ordered previously showed up fine, so I figured I wouldn’t suggest him changing it to UPS, and boy I should have suggested that change.
The first 2 days seemed normal. My package left Maine and made its way to Indianapolis, Indiana. Everything was going great. Then when I checked it the following morning, my package was in Gary, Indiana. Now you may be wondering how this is an issue, but since I live an hour from Indy and 3 from Gary, one can see how it is alarming, but I figured they would get it to me either way, and that my package was just seeing the state. Then the next day I found my package to be back in Indy. Ok, maybe it will finally be on its way. Then the following day it was back in Gary.
I went to my local post office to try and get some answers, and per usual they were no help at all, saying that they don’t know why this would happen, and that they would try and figure out where it had gone, and where it is going, but after 2 days I have yet to hear from them, and multiple trips to the post office has brought my package no closer to my mailbox. If you ever think of shipping with USPS, you're better off just taking the money you would spend on shipping with them and burn it, because they are the absolute worst. I will never have a package shipped by these idiots ever again.

I can't find the receipt with the tracking number; however, the packages are scanned and zip codes entered prior to payment of mailing items. Wouldn't the postal service at least have info on the package being received at the post office? Also, how many boxes get sent to Knob Noster from Pearl City, HI? Wouldn't that be a start to at least see if the box was sent out from its original destination with just the two zip codes and city info? I mean I can find things on the internet that many deemed classified information and yet it's all over the internet if a person just keep researching for information through the social network system.
I'm a little perplexed as to how "a government" business can't even do that. Why bother putting a name on the package if it can't even tell a consumer that a package has been sent with the zip code, city, and date of mailing. I ordered the plate through AAA on June 20, 2013 and AAA processed the tag because I called the Department of Motor Vehicle and they confirmed they had the order and that they mailed the tag out July 25, 2013. The tag was mailed to AAA and AAA told me that their mail employee drove the mail to the East Liberty Post Office on August 6, 2013. When I asked Rich, that is what he told me his name was, and that he was the manager at the Grant Street location in Pittsburgh, PA, that AAA said their procedure is to have their mail employee deliver the mail in a truck to the Post Office he said that was not true because they (AAA) had to of delivered it to a distribution center, wherever that is.
I have been on the phone with DMV, AAA, and Rich at the Grant Street PO several times. I also told Rich, the manager that the mail carrier cut through my lawn to deliver my mail to my box and I did not want him to do that. I do not allow my teenager to walk across my lawn so I do not want the mail carrier doing it when he could come up the driveway and deliver to the box just as the Black Female postal carrier and the other white postal carrier before him did. In addition, I told Rich, the Grant Street Manager that the mail carrier have on occasions placed other peoples mail in my mailbox and some of the mail belonged to the people next door. It has not been one time that I have not seen this mail carrier talking on his phone maybe that is what distracting him to the point where he can not focus on whose mail he is delivering.
Today, August 14, 2013 after Rich the manager which I believe did not try to help me, I was upset so I asked him to place my mail on hold starting tomorrow and I would get a PO box because that carrier does not deliver my mail everyday and Rich said yes, however when I got off the phone I said to myself why should I have to pay for a Postal Box when the Post Office suppose to provide that service to me, so I called Rich the Manager back and said I have decided to continue getting my mail at my home address and he said he would take care of it. When I arrive home at 4:45, Wednesday 14, 2013, I did not have a piece of mail in my box not even advertisement. My neighbor said they complained about that carrier and carrier stopped their mail for four days - is that PO policy? Is he going to not deliver my mail anymore because I complained about his poor service? Is he doing this because this is a predominately black neighborhood and he is sure no one cares even the PO if he decides to hold my mail up or my neighbor's mail up?
Did he hide my neighbor's mail or did Rich the Manager know about this? He has not been on this route long because the other two carriers one black female and a white male always delivered my mail and they did not walk across the lawn as if it was somewhere out in a field and not private property. AAA said that they delivered my Vanity plate to the PO along with all their other mail and I never received it and the only thing that Rich said was that he did not see it nor did his carrier. So my question is who lost my plate at the PO? I went to AAA today to get another tag for my car because I had my old tag on their waiting for my new tag to arrive which never did. I can truly say that AAA put their customer first and made sure that they did everything they could do to resolve the issue. They issued me another plate, without cost and has offered to pay for a Vanity plate should I decide to order one.
I have been in customer service in some capacity for more than 16 years and this experience is the worst customer service I have ever witnessed anywhere and all the complaints that I have read and heard about the Post Office and it's very poor service - I believe is very real and I think it is a National Disgrace that it operates like this when I pay more HARD earned money for this poor service. I hope that you the Consumer Services Department will look into this and if nothing else I hope when others read this online they will not be so angry because they will know not to take it too personally because it is what it is and to try to find another way to do their PO type of business.

So what I want to say is, it is not really the budget issue to shut down the Post Office, the fact is because the Post Office did not provide the minimal customer service to the public. The people just don't want to use the Post Office. USPS is not the only option. Sorry to those minority hard working postal worker.

This is now the 4th complaint that I am filing about this issue and it is seriously getting out of hand. I have not received my mail due to my mail box being blown up on July 4, 2013. My mail is supposed to be held at my local post office which is on Minnesota Avenue until my rental office replaces the box. I attempt to pick up my mail every Saturday from the Minnesota avenue location and constantly I am told I have no mail even though I am able to track my packages and see that they were supposedly attempted to be delivered days ago. The latest incident was two packages I was tracking said they were attempted to be delivered on Friday 8/9/13, upon arrival at the Minnesota avenue station I was told I had no mail or packages.
After calling the River Terrace sorting center I was told that my mail and packages were there. The excuse I was given for them not being at the Minnesota ave location was that my normal carrier was on vacation and the new carrier was not told to bring the mail to the Minnesota avenue location. So you're telling me you are not informing your employees to bring not only my mail but many other residents of the complex mail to the main location and that is causing over a month delay in retrieving my letters. But yet I still cannot get an answer on why a letter that was mailed to me from Hyattsville, MD on July 10th was not given to me until August 3rd. It does not take almost 30 days for a letter to travel less than 30 miles especially with me being told every Saturday in between the two that I have no mail. This needs to be resolved. I have received any contact back from the other 3 complaints I have submitted and I will submit a complaint every day until I receive a response.

The mail was not delivered today (Aug 9, 2013). To my knowledge it is not a holiday. The consequences were that I missed out on an important package, and this being Friday, I will not get it until Monday. This has happened before, though infrequently. I would like to know: If a USPS worker is unable to work on any particular day, is there a law that states that another substitute postal worker must deliver the mail? I am very happy to support the USPS due to their longstanding service to this country and their much lower prices than what the private sector delivers for. I wish other citizens would continue their support of the USPS and help out wherever possible. It would be a shame to lose the USPS.

I gave the mail man old mail. He snatched the mail out of my hand. When I asked him why he snatched the mail, he called me a b word and spit on me. I did call him names. I went in my house and got my phone followed him to take a picture of him and truck. He spit at me again, called me names and said I will never get mail again and not to forget he knows where I live. Investigators came but made it clear they were here to inform me if I caused harm to the postman, I would have federal charges brought against me. They only wanted to see my pictures after I was upset at the fact they were on his side saying I have no evidence. It's his word against mine.

We made several attempts to call back and were assured that the matter is being resolved. A phone call came in later to inform us that we are "one of several customers to encounter this issue" with our mail being inadvertently scanned delivered on the 5th but, we should get the mail the next day. It's now the 9th, still no mail. The eBay and merchant site said "Delivered" when the tracking # is entered.

On July 28th 2013, I filed a complaint online to USPS. It was about my Hold Mail requested being totally ignored and not implemented from July 9th to July 26th. Immediately after submitting the complaint I received a reply stating I would be contacted by customer service by email within two days. It is now Aug 7th and I have not heard anything. They ignored that too. I checked my email to make sure an email from them didn't end up as spam, as suggested by USPS. I actually received a survey email from them asking me if I was satisfied with how customer service handled my complaint. Luckily enough for me they actually had an option I could pick to tell them it was not handled at all. By now I am just so amazed with how incompetent USPS is. It's embarrassing at this point. Anyone else in a job that performed so poorly would not have a job at this point. Actually performed is the wrong word because they didn't do anything. There is no excuse for such laziness and ineptness. So today I sent the same email as I did on the 28th and I will be pleasantly surprised if there is a reply.

The tracking #** indicated that delivery was attempted and a notice was left at my residence on July 10th. There was no notice. I called the Kirkland Post Office & and spoke to Brian who advised that the package was not at the post office and suggested I call back the next day. I tried to have it re-delivered online but the system states it was returned to sender. I have contacted the sender several times and they indicate that it hasn't been returned to them.
I called 1-800-ASK-USPS and opened a case (**) on July 30th. Two days later on 8/1 Troy ** from the Kirkland Post Office called me. He confirmed that the package was not at the post office and suggested that I just 'continue to wait and hope that it appears'. The package contains two items of apparel valued at $75. and I would like to be reimbursed or I would like the package delivered. I have called ASK-USPS three times, my local post office twice (I have made repeated attempts but the line is usually busy) and after almost 1 month have made no progress. I sent my son his birthday present by first class mail with tracking. The clerk told me that since it is just first class mail I did not need a return address on the label. I tracked it online and noticed it said, Undeliverable as Addressed. I quickly called the 800 number for USPS, only to find out that nothing could be done by them, I had to call the post office in question. I had to wait till the next day, as they were closed. I called and was told by a postal worker that the package was sent to dead letter because there was no return address, I asked what I could do and he said, “Nothing, it's gone.”
I called again and spoke with another worker. She took my information to call me after she talked with the carrier about the package. She returned my call, she said the address was correct, but because my sons name was not on the mail box the package was sent to the Mail Recovery Center. Really?? I think there are better ways to handle something like this. The address was right but it was sent to The Mail Recovery center. They did not even wait for someone to respond to the tracking status, not even 5 minutes. Directly to their pockets my son’s gift went.

In face of budget constraints, USPS are utilizing alternative measures in convincing consumers the benefits of premium shipping services. The postal worker explains how lost packages are protected if I had insurance. Would she had a chance to emphasize this point if my packages arrived in my locked mailbox, as it should? I ordered 3 different packages within the last 3 wks. 2 packages sent via first class with regular delivery confirmation are missing, but are tracked as delivered. My third package with signature confirmation arrived no problems. I sensed a problem and asked sender of last package to include signature confirmation. I've never had a problem with USPS till now.
I tried to calling the post office but they would treat me as if I was senile, as if I had misplaced the package which clearly was delivered to me according to their tracking system. There was no, " I'm sorry to hear that sir, here's what we can do for you." All I got was, "you're gonna have to call back sir, I'm not near the machine to look up your tracking numbers." USPS is the only game in town, and they know that. I had packages via USPS for a very long time, without problems, any, zilch, nada... until now. Is the timing of the budget constraint a coincidence? I'm not even gonna answer that, I'm simply refusing to give another dime to USPS, problem solved.

I mailed two packages to the same person at the same address on two different days. The second package was received but the first has not been. The tracking number on the receipt for the missing package is illegible. I went to the branch I mailed the package from and was first told that they couldn't trace it because of the illegible tracking number and that I should go to the main post office to see if they could track it by the receipt number.
At the main post office, I was told by the clerk that they had no way of tracing it and that I should go to the post office I mailed the package from. She also asked me: "Do you know who you mailed it to?" A question I thought was idiotic to say the least. I complained online and got a number for a supervisor at the main post office. I called and he was not in. The woman who picked up the phone said that if I went back to the branch I mailed it from, they could reprint the receipt using the bill number.
I went back to the branch I mailed it from, only to be told that a supervisor has to trace it using the billing number and that someone from the main office would have to come to the branch, because the clerks are not authorized to do it. I sent an email to the supervisor at the main office. I don't know what will happen next but plan to complain to the address listed as their national advocate if I don't get any results soon. It has now a week and a half since the package was mailed.

USPS has got to be the worst and poorest managed company I have ever dealt with. I bought an item on Amazon, 2 weeks of tracking it daily on my phone. Finally it has my city saying out for delivery. Next thing I know, it switched to package refused. They hire idiots who can't read and see numbers to start with. They took the mail to the wrong address. Someone had refused it. I call the 1800 number. They tell me they can't do anything about it and hang up. I went to local post office and a manager at the location that I thought would be a little less dumb than the delivery guy tells me, "Oh well, whatever happened, we have no control over it and we can't find it." After I ask, "How do you lose something that was refused, should it not be on the truck still," she says, "Yes, the driver is not back yet."
So I ask her to contact him. She says that is not possible, they have no way of contacting any drivers. I was amazed by the dumb lies she was saying and then after telling me he's not back yet meaning the item that someone else refused has to be still on the truck till he's back at 5 pm, she says, "Oh well, I think at 2 we sent it back because you refused it." "How," I asked, "when he's not back yet? Did you get the item to send back? Did he make a pit stop to drop it off?" She looks at me clueless and says, "Well, have a nice day." I have nowhere to turn. My stuff is lost. My money is gone and I am left with nothing but shock at how stupid this whole situation turned out to be!!! Next time I'd rather tie a package to a pigeon. The following day, the USPS tracking site showed the priority mail was attempted to be delivered after 6 pm at night. Said Business closed, notice left. Yes, our business had closed at 5:30. No, there was no notice left on our door. We even had a mail slot that the carrier failed to use. Tried to contact the Postmaster. Was told automatically that he was in a meeting. I asked to leave a message. The supervisor, Marcia, insisted on helping me. I explained my situation. She immediately, without hardly waiting for me to finish speaking, apologized for the inconvenience and that she would speak to the "new" carrier.
Apparently, our carrier was on vacation for the day. If this was an isolated circumstance, I would understand more. But, this is the 3rd time we've had trouble with the priority mail service. I am seeking other ways to send my mail due to the inefficiency of the Postal Service. I always tried to use them as I believe in the postal service but it seems that the management is lacking in a big way. However, even after getting the PO box, I was still not getting mail so I contacted USPS and started an investigation. The investigation was closed a few days later. The investigators said that the postal workers at the Julian post office claimed I had not filed a change of address from my new physical address to the PO box! Which I had obviously when I paid for the PO Box. I talked to the women at the post office on 6 separate occasions asking about my mail and if I needed to file any additional papers. They said no.
I repeatedly told them my situation and that I had extremely important mail that had not been delivered nor had it gone back to the senders. Six weeks later my neighbor called me and said he just picked up all my missing mail from the post office!! When I went to the post office to find out what happened, they said they had been holding MY mail because my neighbor had put a stop delivery on HIS PO BOX (not our physical address) but because we use the same physical address at our houses they held BOTH of our mail even though they knew I was looking for MY mail with MY name on it. This hold up ended up costing me around $3,000 due to missed deadlines, undelivered packages, bills and other time sensitive mail correspondence from the government.

She told me that maybe someone had stolen all of my mail out of my mailbox, but NOT to file a police report because I had no proof. The post master also admitted to me that she was the person that I spoke with when I made my first phone call, and that she just assumed my mail was there but never checked to make sure. Today I am beyond frustrated with an American business that we all have grown to trust. I mailed a care package on June 12, 2013 to my husband, who is serving the U.S.Navy in South Korea. Therefore, it was being sent to an APO AP address which usually lessens the stress as eventually the military will take over, huh. I asked the postal clerk for the fastest, efficient way and I took his recommendation. After two weeks of my husband's inquiries, I began to track it online to find that it shipped from Augusta, GA on June 12th in the evening, received at the Richmond, CA sorting facility on June 17th at 6:01AM, and listed as departing that facility the next day with NO TIME ASSOCIATED with the departure. It is now July 14th and still NO PACKAGE.
Here is the kicker: I myself have been in Korea visiting for the past two weeks. How can I have beaten a USPS package that was sent more than two weeks before my departure? I have called the post office and was given the consumers affairs number. What is our world coming to? We can't even trust one of the oldest companies in our history anymore. I did some research and have found that the Richmond, CA sorting facility is called the Bermuda Triangle of the USPS. Someone is obviously stealing and there needs to be more surveillance placed in these areas before yet another company takes a dive in our economy.

I sent a $1,700 winning sport book voucher by certified mail to a casino in Las Vegas because I had to cut my trip short and it was a series bet so I had no choice but to mail it in because I'm 2,500 miles away from Vegas. It's been 3 weeks and never made it there to Las Vegas. Two days after being sent, it was at a sorting facility 50 miles away and then no trace since. I've called 5 times, opened 2 cases and kept getting the runaround or someone telling me they are sorry and it's because they're "downsizing", not that someone STOLE my winning ticket. I will never use them ** again and hope no one else ever does either. Oh, they did tell me I might be able to get my $3.56 after 30 days... nice of them huh!

I went to the USPS to apply for a renewal passport for air travel 5 weeks in advance. The clerk suggested I could just get a passport card if I was only flying to Vancouver. It would cost less. I felt confident that someone in her position was giving me correct information. Unfortunately, when my son and I arrived to the airport (LAX), they denied my son travel due to his passport card and said we were misinformed. He needed a passport. We missed out on our well planned trip to Vancouver and incurred several cancellation fees. I went to the USPS and spoke with the supervisor and the clerk that had advised me. The clerk said "it was a misunderstanding." They were unable to do anything or compensate us in any way.

So I'm not sure what happened. The post usually runs in the late afternoon. I'm expecting a package whose tracking information said it was out for delivery that morning. I take half a day off from work so I can hover around my front door to receive the package. 6:30 pm rolls around and tracking information still says "Out for delivery". I go sit on my front porch and have a drink and smoke while waiting for the guy to come with my package. An hour later, I get a text update that the package is now "Available for pickup". I checked the tracking information online and that status was now entered above "Out for delivery" with a time of 10 am (they can't deliver packages correctly but apparently they can time travel).
Anyways, I had my eye on our mailbox the entire afternoon, either through a living room window or from sitting on the front porch and no postal carrier ever came by my house. There was no "Sorry, I missed" you notice in my mailbox so the USPS either lied about my package being out for delivery or they lied about trying to deliver it. I'm out a half day's work and I'm going to have to take time out tomorrow to pick it up at the post office so things don't get screwed up again.

I see the postman coming so I go out to meet him at the door. He hands me junk mail and I said, “Where’s my package?” He's like, “Call the damn office. Kristy, the clerk at the post office, faxed a 1509 to the Sacramento post office to recall the package. She said, "I can retrieve your package.." I tracked my merchandise. I called the Jamaica, New York post office about 9:30. On July 3, 2013 I spoke with Donna, a clerk there. She stated, "I never received the 1509." At that time I called Kristy and asked her to fax it, so she did about 20 minutes later. However, the package continued to move towards destination.
Eventually, the package was sent to the ISC post office for shipment out of the country. None was able to retrieve my package after 2 days of traveling within the United States. I'm devastated! I shipped a certified package to NYC from FL on June 22nd. It was due at its destination on June 25th. It was tracked all the way to the Bethpage sorting facility. There the trail goes cold. When I call the various numbers, I am given the runaround. They want ME to call the FDR branch in NYC!! They want me to do the job for them. I was told I can't call Bethpage as "They don't talk to people." I was also told that it's my fault; I should have insured it (that's the next story!).
I brought it to a satellite office, here in FL, asked for the package to be mailed certified; you know, where they lock it up at night? The guy behind the COUNTER looks at me like I'm nuts. I re-explain; I believe it's certified mail that has the package locked when it's not in the carrier's hands? - Oh yeah, I know what you mean....Then I say, "I need it insured for $1000.00." The genius says, "We only insure up to $25,000." I laugh and say, "Well, I don't need that!!" IDIOT thought I meant I don't need insurance, I guess, so he completes my sale, gives me my receipt and says, "You will get a signature card sent back when they get it."
I leave but don't check that it's insured (my bad) but his fault! He was an idiot and was more concerned with selling me boxes and additional stamps than getting my package sent correctly. I've opened a case but have not heard a peep from the person who was supposed to get back to me. One person I spoke to said, "We rarely lose a package but when we do, it's a big one!" I have multiple instances of not receiving mail from the USPS, and even having my mail hidden from me. A few weeks ago, I received a package for a completely wrong address - when I looked it up, it was an address clear across town, at least 5 miles away. I stuck the package back in the mailbox with a small note saying that it had been delivered to the wrong address and to please deliver to the right person. As a punishment, I didn't receive any mail whatsoever for 3 days. I finally took a peek in my neighbor's mailbox, only to find 3 days' worth of bills and things I was expecting in the mail stuffed inside. Very nice.
I've had packages mysteriously not arrive, come home to find packages sitting in puddles on the porch, and one of them even smelled suspiciously like urine (maybe it was a coincidence or maybe some animal got to it, but I thought it was strange). I once witnessed a mail person coming up the front walk to my porch with a package, but instead of taking the ONE step up the porch to lean it against the door, they stood about 10 feet back from the porch and just tossed it so it hit the side of the house. Seriously.
I'm not sure if the person delivering mail here is just lazy, or what's going on, but it seems as though they have some kind of problem with me, and I can't, for the life of me, understand why, except that I actually receive mail and they have to deliver it.
My current situation is that my purse was recently stolen and I've now been waiting over a week for my replacement credit and debit cards and driver's license to arrive in the mail, but I haven't received a single piece of mail in days. I'm starting to worry. I just want my mail. Is that so much to ask?

As a Vet, I live on less than $300/week after deduction of Medicare. Because of my low income, I am in the process of moving into my son's home upon his behest due to three major falls - as a 75-year old - from tripping onto the city of Vancouver's new cement protrusions. Since about 2010 at the address, ** Vancouver, WA and ostensibly because of some female's altercation with the mailman at that apartment complex, the US Post Office near the corners of E. 4th Plain Blvd. and Caples Ave., refused steadfastly a major complaint I lodged with them, both at the post office in person and with the postmaster-general. And, after more than three month's duration, there was collusion between the postmaster of the above-mentioned post office, the route mailman, the post office supervisor, and apparently the postmaster-general. To date, they have, since 2010, not delivered valuable mail, federal mail, which was smeared with mud, the final loss of a small box of 1882 gold dollar coins (of 6), valued at then $1,750 each, which were returned to the sender, instead of my address as shown on the front of the box, and finally very critical (as marked) medication from the VA pharmacy in Vancouver, WA.
And who picked up and delivered this mail? None other than the owner's wife (of that apartment complex and their two daughters), which is a federal felony and can be prosecuted to the fullest degree. The VA head pharmacist (at the VA Medical Center, Vancouver, WA) ordered all of my medication to be sent by Express and not by the US Postal Service because of "untrustworthiness". Several times, the post office returned the shipment of critical medication and the US dollar gold coins (mint year 1882) from Phoenix, AZ, among other mails to their place of origin (with the correct address clearly marked). All of my suffering should cost that post office at least my aggregate sum of losses and my lodged complaint (with charges of corruption) should also bring felonious charges against the civilians, as required by federal law.

I have spoken to the postmaster twice and our renter upstairs has also spoken to the postmaster. Nothing changes.
He did tell me that the route we are on only has a couple of blocks of businesses. I don't see why the business mail can't be delivered first thing since we need what is in the mail to conduct our work. We need our mail in the morning, for one thing, to get the daily deposit ready and to the bank so it will go on that day's business. Once tax season starts in January, we HAVE to get our mail in the mornings. Over half of the information we need to do a person's tax return comes by mail. Needless to say, if we can't get the mail until afternoon, that really puts us behind in our work. Won't you please see if our delivery time can be changed? We would really appreciate it.

I live on Santa Rosa DRIVE and there is a Santa Rosa STREET right outside the base gate (I am on a military base). They made a case and said to contact my local PO ASAP to make sure it doesn't go back although it was just marked today. I called my local office and they basically said too bad. It already got put on a truck and will be returned to the sender and they need to resend it.
I explained that I ordered this product in plenty of time for it to arrive with days to spare using standard postage. The supervisor there, John, said that it will be going back to the shipper at the same rate it was mailed and they will re-mail it for free, but only at the same rate it was originally shipped. I AGAIN explained that I should not have to pay for expedient shipping BACK to me when it was not MY error or the SHIPPER’S error - it was THEIR ERROR. He said he can’t do anything. I said basically you are not acknowledging it was your carrier’s error. He said they are, by shipping it back for free. HOW DOES THAT HELP ME??? His whole attitude was an "I can care less." He was not apologetic and acted like it was my fault his carrier didn't read the address correctly. Now I have to fork out MORE money for shipping and hope it gets here on time! When I called the USPS for the first lost package, they said there was nothing they can track with the lost package because I didn't buy insurance for it. I asked for Global Priority, which I was told was not available. He assured me that First Class was sufficient. He then asked if I wanted it insured, to which I said, "Yes". He then directed me to a USPS form, which I now understand to be merely a Customs Form. He asked me to declare the contents and the amount.
When the package was delivered, it was delivered completely empty. The package was expertly sealed back after removing the contents. I was under the impression that it was insured, based on being misled that the form I filled out was the Insurance form. Moreover, I was not told that there was no recourse whatsoever for First Class Mail.
I feel that the USPS is responsible for my package being stolen, as they decided to hire dishonest employees. The argument that I forfeited any right to recourse because it was not insured does not hold any water. I did not send my telephone to be stolen. I sent it to be delivered safely, and USPS did not do that, and for that, I feel that they are responsible, regardless of where it was stolen in the chain of possession. Also going with half-truths like First Class and Global Priority and other services are one and the same is doing a disservice to the integrity of the USPS as a whole.

Even though I know this is going to fall on deaf ears as it has for the past month, here goes. I mailed a phone I sold on eBay a month ago with signature confirmation and no insurance tracking number to be as specific as possible. Everything was shipping as normal until it goes out for delivery and then "delivery status not updated." I'm then contacted by the person who was supposed to be receiving the package and it never shows. I called the 1-800-ASK-USPS. They say it's at the post office. I told my customer to go pick it up at the post office in Melbourne, zip code 32901. He is informed that there is no package waiting for him. He contacted me and asked for a refund which I am required to give him. So at this point, I'm out a phone, my money, taxes and fees, time and gas, and a signature that I paid for.
A little stressed at this point, I assumed I could call 1-800-ASK-USPS again and they could locate the package. I called and I'm told the package is at the Melbourne office and I need to call them and figure things out. I don't know of many businesses that make you investigate their mistakes but I figured I would listen and get this resolved. I called the Melbourne post office and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Anthony. Anthony must have been extremely busy because after being put on hold without getting a chance to speak to him, I was hung up on and had to call back. Upon calling back, I was rushed into explaining my situation as fast as possible which I did and was told that he would talk to the driver when he got back and would call me back and let me know. As he tries to hang up as fast as he could, I reminded him that he might need my number to call me back, at which point he said to hold on. He came back, grabbed my number and said he would call me later that day. The call obviously never came.
I called 1-800-ASK-USPS again. This time, I opened a case to look into the package and what has happened. I got a call from my local post office. I have no idea why as they had nothing to do with the lost package, but unfortunately, I couldn't answer at the time. So, I called 1-800-ASK-USPS and told them the situation again and I'm told that since the package was never delivered and since there was no signature, that it must be on its way back to me and that can take 15 days. Whatever. I waited the 15 days and of course, nothing shows. I sent you guys an email explaining my situation. My local post office contacted me and they said they are going to investigate and call me back that day. No phone call. I called them back the next day and I'm told they can't find the package and there is nothing more they can do and gave me the number for postal inspection. I called them and the lady told me there is nothing she can do as there is no theft; it's just a lost package. However, she is the first one to attempt to do anything for me as she puts me through to a lady named Tracy at the Melbourne post office. This is by far the furthest I've gotten at this point.
Tracy appears to be the manager of the office. Tracy starts off very annoyed and tells me she is going to look into it and call me back. I asked her to explain what is going on and why no one at her office seems to be of any help. She explains that the original driver was off that day and that she needs to talk to the person that delivered the package. I told her that regardless of who delivered it, I paid for a signature and never got one. Ironically, I looked into this situation online and that seems to be a favored excuse. She asks if I have insurance. I explained no. She then tells me, well, there is nothing they can do if I didn't get insurance. I explained to her that as I've been told by USPS that the package cannot be delivered without a signature and I paid for a service that I expected to be completed. She laughs and explains that yes, I paid $2 and that I should have gotten insurance and that things happen. No sympathy or even a care in the world.
She then tells me she will look into it and call me back which never happened. Just another USPS worker that gets to say not my problem. This is all becoming one big nightmare and at this point, just a signature would have been enough. What is really bad here is that your employees have free rein to go through people's mail, take whatever they find and there is no consequence as they can just claim that the mail was lost. I understand mistakes can happen but when you make a mistake, you need to stand up and fix it.

" We did not receive ANY mail that day. Our mailbox was empty. Confused, he checked the tracking number, and of course, it said it had been delivered on Saturday, May 4. Monday, he checked the tracking again before calling our local Post Office, and lo and behold, it had changed to say that our package had been delivered on Friday, May 3. Strange how that happened. He contacted our mail carrier. She said she has no idea what happened to the package because she doesn't even see that it was ever scanned to show that it was in her possession to be delivered. After 2 weeks of trying to contact the local Post Master, she said she was told that they could only punish the mail carrier, not reimburse us.
And in a separate incident, I wanted to return some things that I had ordered offline. Mailed them May 31st. Here it is over 2 weeks later, I just contacted the company I shipped them to and they haven't received my package. When I originally placed the order, it took no more than 4 business days for it to arrive at my house. And I also shipped one package via UPS and one via FedEx within minutes of each other the same day. Those both made it to their destination within 3 days. So assuming that package mysteriously never arrives to its intended location, that will be close to $150 that I might as well have run through a shredder. All thanks to the US Postal Service!

I can see many similar complaints here so it seems to be a really serious issue with USPS in general, not only with my local office. I do not understand why nothing is done about it??

I submitted my change of address with the USPS, paid the dollar and requested the date which was about a week and a half out. Well, they started it immediately and I haven't received any mail including two checks that I was counting on for my moving expenses! When I called my local PO, they said 'the carrier' started the immediate change of address (?) and my mail is having problems being delivered to my new address (thank God, someone I know is living there) because the address is wrong! No, it isn't. I verified the new address and except for a different letter being capitalized sometimes, it's the only street by that name in that zip code! Arrgg, I'm so frustrated!

I opted not to place a mail box in front of my house for security reasons when I purchased the house in February 1987. I also applied for a local post office box and chose #72, which I have rented since 1987. I have never been late on a payment, and always maintained rental ownership since 1987.
Approximately 3 weeks ago, a document was in the box (PS Form 1093, January 2012), which is a United States Postal service “HOW TO APPLY FOR A PO BOX.” After being refused to receive our mail, I questioned why I have to apply for a PO BOX when I already rent one and have rented the same box since 1987? Is this the new way for the postal service to do business? Is this possibly just another way to jeopardize this great service which is being provided by our great government?

I have shipped many things via UPS, FedEx and USPS over the past fourteen years as an eBay seller. I can say that USPS is the worst to deal with. The latest incident happened only a couple months ago. I always package my items very carefully with either bubble wrap, peanuts or air filled packing cushions. The item I was sending this time was in no way fragile, but I still secured the customer's order as usual. Three days later, the customer contacted me to say that the box arrived in very bad shape and the item had been broken. Keep in mind, the item was stored inside a protective box INSIDE of another box that I had reinforced with packing material.
Somehow, the USPS managed to mistreat the package so badly that my customer's purchase was destroyed beyond repair. Sadly, the customer didn't want insurance before I shipped the item, but this sort of neglect on the part of the post office should mean they are accountable regardless of insurance. However, many repeat phone calls and emails from both of us were never returned or led to any sort of resolution.

I have had a PO box with USPS for many years and had to move from the original location because the Highland Post Office was closed. I decided to move the box close to my house. When attempting to go to the post office to pay for the box, I was told I would have to come back when the box clerk was there. Finally, after being turned away several times, I paid it online. However, my box was closed although I was able to access box ** zip 85060 until this week (1st week of June 2013) after it was supposedly unavailable after March 31, 2013. When asked if I could reopen the box, the clerks and supervisor told me the system was automated and there was no way for me to reopen the box ever. That they were given out through the automated system.
The Arcadia Station provides the worst customer service I have ever received from the Post Office, and the Arcadia Station is unwilling to go the extra mile to help customers and foster a positive community service. If I can still access the PO box even though it is supposedly closed out, why is it so difficult to renew or charge a new box fee for the same PO box?

After a few days, she took the notice and went to pick up her purchase. Postal employee that was helping her said, "Your package is not here; it was sent back, because you DID not pick it up..." Long story short, she doesn't have her purchase; it was never sent back, as there is USPS procedure when sending an unclaimed item back, and it was not done!! I do not have it.

USPS lost the PP and as a result, I will lose part of my airline ticket, the price of a hotel room, and will have to try to find some way to drive or take a boat from Seattle to Victoria, Canada and back at that extra expense (because you can’t fly to Canada with a passport card - you need the PP BOOK.) I want Consumer Affairs to call me now and tell me where my passport is. If they can’t get it to me, they should pay for any extra expenses I incur by having to give up part of my airfare, hotel, food, and land travel. THEY LOST THE MAIL! I told her it was not vacant, to go ahead and put the mail in the box, as it was costing me a lot of money when bills and statements were not delivered. She said that she would not do it. I told her that I would have to file a report and asked her for her name. She refused to give me her name, so I said that I would have to take a photo to identify her to accompany the report. She called the police. That day, I went, again, to the Brook Road Customer Service and reported the incident. I was told that they would be in touch with me, via my cell phone, on Monday. I put my info in and was surprised they didn't invoice me for the dollar at my email address. I received an email with the heading "Change my Address - Fast and Secure Change of Address with the USPS" which made me think also, that I had changed it through the USPS. The email stated the following: "Congratulations! Your change of address request has been processed. I had to put the info in 3 times, first for my name, then my home business name and then again to correct the zip code typo I had made. Once I called to Ukraine and tracked this shipment in their system, this package is 600 miles away from where it should be, recipient's name is different and of course, so is the address. Once placing a complaint with USPS, I had been told multiple times, that it is now MY problem, as it is not on US soil anymore. Multiple promises that USPS requested current location of the package from Ukrainian postal service were made and all of those are nothing, but words!
Horrible customer service who doesn't know their process flows! Supervisors don't listen to you and overtalk you with, "I am sorry about the service", without actually accepting the information which you provide to help them to locate the package and to improve their service. Even though, I bought insurance, I cannot file a claim until Ukraine uses all 23 business days after the claim was filed to locate the package (28 May 2013 as Memorial day USPS is closed) and then if it's not located, I can file a claim which takes up to 30 days for review. After that, if the complaint was reviewed and approved, they have 30 days to give your money back. Maybe they should hire people who have pride in what they do, and then they wouldn't have to be giving money back and wouldn't have reviews all over Internet. "USPS SUCKS". This makes no sense. First, it has taken five weeks to receive a package from Hawaii. Did you send them by canoe? Now, I received just one box while the other box has been sitting in the California Post Office for the last four days. What is going on with your service? Why is one box sitting in California for the last four days and the other one is here in my living room? This makes no sense. Why did you not deliver both boxes at the same time? Is your service just too bad, or are you so confused that you cannot keep track of your items?
I have been sending daily email via their Customer Service Site and messages via Facebook and other social media, but I guess all inquiries and help requests just get trashed. I hate to say this, but maybe those in Congress who want to shut the USPS down might be correct.

On the 29th of May, I had a postal woman named Felicia who conducted herself very unprofessionally. She was screaming for me to close my front door. I explained to her that I was getting my groceries out of my car. She said on the street that she would not deliver my mail then and sped off. I called the La Habra Imperial office to complain. I spoke with Rosalva who had already spoken with Felicia (postal woman). Rosalva said that all the postal delivery people are instructed to not deliver the mail if the front door is open. This was not explained to me at all. Rosalva didn't let me explain my situation at all.
I went to the post office to pick up my mail that evening. I spoke with another supervisor, Donny. Rosalva had put a hold on my mail. He straight out stated to me that he could not get involved, but recommended that I call in the morning and speak to Monica. I did call Monica and she deeply apologized for all the issues that I had been through, and that my mail would start being delivered again starting Saturday.
Later, on Friday evening, after speaking with Monica and she assured me that my mail will be delivered that Saturday, I received a call from FRANCINE yelling at me, stating that I need to put a mail box by the curb and that my mail will be held and that Monica had no authority over her to start my mail again. I explained to Francine that the mail box is impossible because there is no curb on my street. I explained to her that this situation has worsened to their benefit, not mine. I tried to explain that there was NO incident at my address with the delivery postal woman (Felicia) and there were no grounds for all this nonsense.
I invited her to my house so she can see that there is no curb and that the dogs I have are behind a secured gate at all times, 24/7. I learned that Felicia had been bitten by a dog before and simply took it out on my residence, especially with her attitude. Right after that phone call where Rosalva called stating that I need to get a mail box on the curb also, I asked her if their office communicates with each other. I explained that Francine had already called me yelling. She said that was her supervisor, and it would be that the mail hold will remain. Francine said she is sending a surveyor to see where the mail box will be posted.
I need to have someone please ask these ladies to hear my story and realize that that there was no incident with any dogs. It was ALL attitude. I need my mail delivery to remain normal. We do not have a permanent mail deliverer. We have subs all week. We have lived here since 1938 (we own, not rent) and have NEVER had any incidents at ALL. They offered that I get a post box at my cost, which I refused. If I had said something or if I had done wrong, I know changes would need to take place. But NOTHING at all has taken place for my delivery to stop. I run my business from my home and receive a lot of mail here. I am also in the middle of a fundraiser for two little girls with cancer and I am awaiting checks in the mail. I pray they do not get lost.
Can I please have someone look into my case? I also submitted two complaints to USPS customer service and still, to this day, have not heard back from them at all. I have left messages for Francine to return my call. She has not returned my call. I wanted to ask her questions about what kind of surveyor and if there was an incident report done from the very beginning so I can see what the actual report states.
One more thing... after Rosalva said Francine is not changing anything and she was the one in charge, she showed up at my house to see the property, to state again that Francine is the one in charge. I felt like asking her "then why did you come?" but I didn't. PLEASE HELP!!

USPS SUCKS. I am a merchant who ships out over 300 packages daily. I used to use USPS to handle most of my packages, but I do not anymore. Why? Well, let me tell you. USPS uses FedEx to sort its packages. But FedEx hires anyone. No high school diploma, no problem. No GED, no problem. They are hiring people right off the street - thugs, crooks, drug dealers, pimps and shady people. They don't care. They do not care because they process so many packages that they need the extra help. I was shipping my packages through them until one month (over 900 packages), it kept arriving at their destination with only 1 product out of the entire order the person ordered left in the package.
What that means is someone on the sorting line has seen a package with my business name on it, torn (because of shoddy work ethics and employees not caring for your package at FedEx JUST THROWING YOUR PACKAGE AROUND) and the products inside must have been showing. That employee then takes all but one of your items and pushes the package on through the mail. They keep this up anytime they see one of your packages rolling down the line. I know this happens. I have friends who work at FedEx who are managers and ramp agents.
Now FedEx will fire an employee who does this, but because of their hiring practices, the same things keep happening. When asked, USPS says that there is nothing they can do unless the packages are insured or unless the customer takes a photo of the damaged package and items along with an invoice. But a lot of my customers prefer privacy and most items shipped are of a sensitive nature to the customer who does not want anyone to know what they ordered. Now I know it's not USPS themselves going on stealing my customers' products. But until they use a different service to sort their packages other than FedEx, I will be finding a different shipping company.

US Postal Services is ridiculous. Many of their staff members are rude and very unprofessional. The so-called mail carrier in my area decided which letter to put in my mail box and which one to return to the sender. Between April 15, 2013 and May 30, 2013, I hardly received mails. There was a period she decided to put loads (excessive) of advertisement papers in my mail box. I suspect she gathered those junk that belong to other people and slot it in my mail box. I was furious but I emptied the box. Not knowing, she called her supervisor to say that my mail box is full and that I have not been collecting my mails for some time (malicious act). She said that I must have traveled out of state.
So, she decided not to put any mail in our box again, but to return any mail that comes to our address back to the sender despite the mail box being empty. We don't know this post carrier from Adams; I have never seen her before in my life. My husband has to hang around the community mail box to wait until she comes. That was when she lied and told her untrue story about our mail box being full. She thought we travelled, and she decided to return majority of our mails for almost 4 weeks. The service is very frustrating. However, I will not give up until I get to the bottom of this issue.

Gosh!!! Talk about being given the run around. I called the 661 number and the person said “I don't think it will be found, honestly because there's so much mail in the sorting facility.” Wow, what's the point of sending it via certified mail? The lady proceeded in saying "Why don't you resend it?" Argh, you leave me speechless USPS!!!
