I am the wrong racial complexion. My neighbor gets mail delivered to her door. Small packages, normal mail, etc. She plays golf and goes on daily walks of 30 to 45 minutes. I am disabled, I was struck by 2 drag racers going 95 mph on Aurora Parkway. I pay $4.50 for access ride transportation per 1 way trip. My post office is 5 miles away. My post box is 1/2 mile away. It is difficult for me to get to the box. I have a massive brain injury. Packages that do not fit in the mailbox are returned to the post office until I can go the 5 miles to the post office.

Most of the time certified is returned along with bills to the sender - addressee unknown. This time I got the notice on my door from the postman but he was too lazy to ring the bell. HE JUST LEFT THE SLIP. My wife and I were both home all day on Dec 26. He said he made the delivery attempt at 9:00 am. HE LIED. My wife received FedEx at 9:30 and no notice was at the door. My son visited at 1:00 pm and no notice. The tracking number is **.

I TRIED CALLING THE POST OFFICE AT 303 699 8907 TO ARRANGE DELIVERY BUT NO ONE ANSWERS AFTER 10 TO 15 RINGS I GET A MESSAGE TO ENTER AN ACCESS CODE. I have switched most of my bills to the Internet because I got tired of having my credit stopped because my mail is returned for not at this address. I receive mail for zip codes out of my area.

When I go to the post office they ask for my drivers license, which they then loose. I then get a postman at the door asking for $3.15 for special delivery. After it happened twice I am out $6.30, I no longer let anyone at the post office hold my license. Complaining to the post office about discriminating against the disabled gets some management form letter, which fixes nothing.

I've heard many horror stories about dealing with USPS and have experienced them myself as well recently. Packages getting bounced back and forth between my state and surrounding states just to arrive weeks later than expected; packages being lost; delivery men being too lazy to walk up to my door and just marking things as delivered; this company has really gone downhill. Definitely going to ship through other carriers whenever I can. It's really a shame that you HAVE to go through USPS when ordering through certain websites.

I mailed three priority insured packages of Christmas presents to my daughter and grandson in Virginia Beach on Monday, December 15, 2014. On Wednesday tracking showed they were delivered. The delivery tracking information was changed on one of the packages. According to the tracking, two of the packages were delivered at 11:02 am and the third at 5:39 pm. The only package my daughter found was the one delivered at 5:39 pm left outside her third floor apartment door. Packages are never delivered to the individual apartments. All packages are delivered to the apartment complex office and if closed then taken back to the post office. A slip is left in the tenant's mailbox. The locked tenants' mailboxes are all grouped together near the entrance of the apartment complex.

On Friday my daughter telephoned the post office about the two missing packages. The postal clerk contacted the driver and said the two missing packages were on his truck. She said the driver probably marked them as being delivered before he actually delivered them. She further stated that they could be picked up at the post office on Saturday. My daughter went to the post office on Saturday to pick up the packages and was told that the packages weren't there and that they had been delivered. They were not delivered. She checked with the office of her building complex and was told that no packages had been delivered there either. On Monday she again called the post office, but this time was treated rudely.

There is a definite discrepancy between what the driver is stating as delivered and what he told the postal clerk on Friday night about the missing packages being on the truck. In any event, he either never delivered the packages or left them where he wasn't supposed to. If the packages were left and then stolen, the driver should still be held responsible because if he had followed proper procedure, the packages would have been delivered to the apartment office complex. Now the post office refuses to take any responsibility even though I paid for insurance because the driver marked them all delivered.

I am a senior citizen and can't afford to lose over $400.00. I saved all year, and used some proceeds from a small settlement, to be able to afford these gifts, for my daughter and grandson. To make matters worse, my fourteen-year-old grandson worked hard to earn the money for gifts for his mother. He ordered them online and had me gift wrap them for him and I included them in one of these missing/stolen packages. This has been a horrible Christmas thanks to the USPS. I will never mail a package through them ever again.

Ordered a Christmas gift for my wife. It was mailed on 12-13-2014. Tracking showed it arrived in Jersey City, NJ on 12-15-2014. Projected delivery 12-18-2014. It never came. I filed a complaint and all I got was a stupid form email from my local post office. I replied to the email and asked question since they did not address any of my questions in my original complaint. They never replied again. I have friends who work in post office and have told me stories of how corrupt the USPS has become. Everything from Union members getting paid money for simply calling and complaining on supervisors.

Post Masters have no authority to tell their employees what to do or they get in trouble. He told me about thefts committed by the postal employees and psi le drug use by employees on duty. When the employees are confronted, they call the union and nothing happens to them. I know the USPS does not care, but I will never use them again. This is why they are going under, because everyone is switching to FedEx, UPS, ETC. That is why they have lost so much customer base that they are losing the taxpayers money. ALL I WANT IS MY PACKAGE OR REIMBURSEMENT FOR ITS LOSS OR THE DAME EMPLOYEE WHO STOLE IT TO BE FIRED AND PROSECUTED. How the hell can you lose a package that is being tracked?

I am very frustrated after dealing with my local post office. I mailed 2 packages priority mail from the Airport Road West Chester PA facility on 12/20/14. One was mailed to Charlotte NC & the other to Las Vegas NV. The expected delivery date was 12/23/14. As of 12/27/2014 neither has arrived. I understand it is the Christmas season but with priority mail, I figured I could count on minimal delays. Both packages arrived in a Philadelphia warehouse on December 21 and sat for a while.

The package to Charlotte was delivered to Columbia SC on December 25 and sat until December 27. Of course they are Christmas packages and all of the intended recipients have left so I guess we can say the packages are on time for Christmas 2015. The package to Las Vegas, NV is still missing. After speaking with a clerk at West Chester this morning, I realized something very important. No one takes responsibility for anything and as far as the post office is concerned tough! Never again will I mail a package through the post office - I will always use UPS or Fed Ex! The motto for the post office should be buyer beware! Fool me once...!

I tracked the numbers on both packages. Both packages left Paris, IL on 12/17/2014 and went to Champaign, IL. One left the Champaign location and went straight to Oklahoma and was delivered on the 22nd of Dec. 2014. The other package also left Paris, IL on 12/17/2014. It too was sent to Champaign, IL. This is where the problem came in. The other package left Champaign and was sent to Montgomery, AL. It arrived there on 12/22/2014 at 5:46 pm. It left Montgomery on 12/22/2014 at 7:54 pm. On its way to Oklahoma City, OK, where it arrived on 12/24/2014.

Needless to say, this package did not get to its destination on time for Christmas. I do not understand why two packages can leave the same post office on the same day and going to the same state and one can arrive before Christmas and the other goes in the opposite direction and does not make it till after Christmas. Thank you for making my granddaughter and great grandson have nothing to open on Christmas with the rest of the family. They had theirs from me... They got theirs on 12/22/2014. If you email me back that I should have sent them earlier, I am going to tell you right now I am on oxygen 24/7 and I had to find someone to mail them for me since I don't drive. So, needless to say, I am not a happy camper!

My package was scheduled to arrive way before Christmas on December 17 - December 20th. Even at the latest date, it should have arrived 5 days before Christmas. I am sitting here on Christmas Eve, and the package has still not arrived. The package was a 20 minute drive from my house on Sunday, December 21st. I was waiting for the package, and it got sent to NEW JERSEY, across the entire freaking nation, on Christmas Eve. Some incompetent worker at the sorting facility close to my home neglected their job, and placed my package in a shipment ACROSS THE ENTIRE NATION.

I tried calling USPS all day, trying their customer hotline, all the local postal and distribution centers, and the New Jersey postal centers. Each time, I've been redirected to USPS personnel who can't help, even though I hear USPS's advertisements for "quick overnight shipping" every time I'm waiting for an operator. One number given to me was even incorrect, and some girl's personal phone number. 2 different people from USPS have faked helping me, offering to call me back soon. I wait for hours, and there are no calls from USPS at all. Lies and fake promises are spread all around. I spent $350 on the package, and now, I have to explain to a disappointed child why there is no Christmas present under the tree. USPS has ruined my Christmas.

Went to USPS, Belle Meade branch post office on Dec. 19 and mailed a 7lb. box, 2nd day priority mail at the direction of the postal clerk so it would arrive on Dec. 22 (MONDAY is what she said and before Christmas as I had stressed was necessary). She did not say maybe, probably or any other phrase or word to tell me that was just a guess as to when it would arrive. If the postal clerk had been truthful I would never have used priority mail; I TOLD THE CLERK IT NEEDED TO BE THERE BY XMAS! I PAID $43.70 for this medium sized package to arrive on time. It did not even leave Nashville until Dec. 22 and has never been updated since. Just flying around the world? I WOULD NEVER HAVE USED THE USPS if I had known that they have no guarantee and would even deceive customers. I called the Belle Meade post office: they now say no delivery dates are guaranteed for 2-day priority mail! I want a refund.

It is now Xmas day and no update since it left Nashville - city it originated from. I also believe I should receive replacement value if they have lost my package. If 2 day is meaningless then customer should be informed. Now I know why the government should get out of the postal business. We need more independent postal carriers that are accountable and cannot state 2 day if it isn't true and if they fail to perform they should compensate the person. There is really nothing they can do to fix Xmas now!

The problem that I am having is that they have not tracked one package at all and it says it's still sitting at the post office I sent it from, while the other has already arrived and was tracked the entire way. The 2 packages were going from Texas to Pennsylvania in the same zip. They both were sent at the same time from the same post office. I want to know where my package is but of course you can't get the answers you need. Highly dissatisfied with the USPS and will start taking my business else where. Also I had a package sent to me from the address that has not received their package yet and again when I track it, there is no trace but yet today there it was on my porch. This is so wrong. Around the Thanksgiving Holiday -- Nov 2014 I went into the post office to ask and was informed that my rental was due on December 10th, this is all I was told, no mention of any consequences after having the box for almost 20 years. During this time 17 year period occasionally I would forget but they would lock it and sometimes I have even got calls as a reminder to pay it but no one in this time period has ever mention the mail would be sent back as a consequence or to pay any late charges of $20 and the return of my mail and checks.

On the morning of December 12th I went in to pay the rental fee and was told by Earl that the mail was sent back --I asked why did he not tell me that when I asked about the due date in November, I just got a blank stare. I went out to my car to get a letter and I paid my bill for a year along with the late charges to the other clerk. On December 22, 2014, I went into the post office to get a copy of my original copy of my application for the postal box and Earl vehemently said I could not have one, that I could write down what I needed from the form. I asked since I had an alternate physical address on the form of ** and why could not my mail be sent there, he said cause it was not addressed to that box. He was grinning when gave me his last name assured nothing would be done. He made no customer service amends; however, I did notice that a white female customer behind me indicated she may have to come into the office after the closing times on Wed (Christmas Eve) and he politely told her -- he would be there all day so she might could knock on the door. I have never had any problems with this post office prior to this person coming on board a few years ago.

When I asked at the main post office about filing a complaint, they gave me a customer inquiry form that has been copied so many times you cannot even read it. No luck either with the Consumer Affairs office in Columbia. No wander he treated me like I was a JOKE! This whole system is. It really needs to be closed rather than the illusion that one is getting some SERVICE! May need an attorney if there is a problem with my mail and checks again.

This is one of the issues that we are dealing with. The mail is very inconsistent, not only the time but IF it even gets here. As of today, for example, it is 1820 hours and still not a piece of mail nor have any of the big box delivery keys been removed. We as a neighborhood have complained NUMEROUS times to NO AVAIL. I suspect this will go on deaf ears as well. The packages are mis-delivered, delivered at ALL times of the day, sometimes 2100 hours or later. If there is a package that needs a big box and they are all taken up, they just aren't delivered. I have seen this first hand. She leaves a note saying no one was at home to receive the package. I am ALWAYS home and have actually seen her put the note on my door without ringing the doorbell. I stopped her and got the package. Sometimes she has left the door to the mailboxes wide open and left. There are CONTINUOUSLY packages delivered to the wrong addresses, if she decides to actually deliver them and not just leave a note. She has also simply left packages at peoples houses in the middle of their walkway, not even close to their door.

This is a terrible way to do business. If I ran my business like this I am certain I would be OUT OF BUSINESS!!! BTW, the date this started is unclear so I just chose a date from last year... I have been here for 6 years and it has been happening, and getting worse for at least 3-4 years!!!

About 12 years ago I received a green card for certified mail. I was extremely busy as I was working full time and going to school. By the time I could make it to the post office they said they had returned my certified mail. I asked them from whom it was and they had absolutely no record of the sender. This seems really incompetent. I never met my real dad nor do I know his name and always wondered was it something from him trying to contact me? I am very disappointed with the post office as they don't seem to treat customers the way they themselves would like to be treated. I heard it was up to the mail carrier to enter the sender information into the system and obviously the mail carrier didn't think that certified mail was important. I'm sure if the certified mail was for them they would think it was important.

Ordered a present for the holiday coming up in early November. The package arrived November 22 to my pleasure. Unfortunately, to my dismay, it was tossed over our gate into a puddle of water and my father and nephew who were in the backyard and our four dogs did not even hear it so we assume the mailman was only speeding through his job considering the box would had fit in our mailbox. The package was damaged when finally found by my boyfriend leaving to work. I e-mailed USPS about what happened stating I am unsure of what I want but I hope we can compromise to an agreement over this situation. No response was made, but they received my complaint because I was sent a Feedback Survey soon after. A month later I keep calling and finally get through the line. An employee answers hurried and rude (I understand it is the holiday but the attitude was not necessary). I quickly told him what had occurred and he kept repeating in an annoyed voice "What do you want us to do about it?" to which I replied "I don't know, maybe $20 to help me repurchase the product (even though it cost more)." He told me that was not possible, in of course, his rude manner.

To this I ask him what can they do and he told me nothing, apparently they can do nothing about it. Finally he told me (repeating himself to rush me off the phone) that I can file a complaint on the website and I reminded him that I already did, again he repeated himself and I told him I already told him I did and got no response. He repeats himself for the last time. I have no words and tell him bye to which he was happy to hang up so quickly with no good-bye. Again, although I do not know what they can help me with I would like some attention brought to the situation since this is not the first time a package was tossed over like trash. An apology at least would make this situation better, the employee be suspended for disrespectfully treating a customer would be nice but just some feedback from the USPS would be a Christmas miracle! Sorry about the long complaint but it was a long month from the package received to finally getting an answer.

I finally rec'd the package & am content now.

    Original Review: Dec. 20, 2014

I am writing because USPS (Scottsdale 85257 location) has misplaced an important pkg. that was mailed to me. It was "supposedly" delivered in/at my mailbox on Sat. Dec. 13 2014 @ 2:03 pm. I live in a condo complex so when I didn't see it @ the mailbox (pkg. was too large to go into any mailbox here), I began to worry. I called the Scottsdale office & they assured me that they would get on it. I understand it is the holiday season & USPS is very busy but this box contains things of sentimental value that my dad mailed to me following my mother's passing & the fact that it says it has been delivered when in fact it was not is alarming to me. Since Monday Dec. 15, I have been to the Scottsdale office 3x & called them (which I have only gotten through 2x) talking to various people / even supervisors that all promise me they are looking into it & that they would call me back w/ information). I have yet to get a call back. Meanwhile, I talked to our regular mail carrier & she was off the Sat. my pkg. was supposedly "delivered".

Also, I left notes on the mailboxes in the complex asking anyone to please contact me if they saw the pkg. (it was pretty distinct packaging as well - box was an old HP printer box so very easily distinguishable) & to my surprise a neighbor knocked on my door one evening & said the pkg. was actually delivered to her doorstep by mistake on Sat. & she returned it to the driver as it was not hers, which she explained as being a white van. I have explained all of this to many of the employees @ the Scottsdale location but still no information. I have asked them to contact the driver who was on my route that day & see what he/she can remember, etc. Still no answer.

I need an answer. Maybe it went back to the sorting station, maybe it is en route back to my dad. I don't know because nothing has been updated in the tracking info. It still says it was "delivered on Sat. Dec. 13 @ 2:03 pm. All anyone keeps telling me is that it will show up & that they have never lost anything, not even a letter. This pkg. is really important to me & all I want is it to arrive safe & sound. It would be nice if someone could finally give me information as to where it is or if they have even talked to the driver that day. Still waiting....

I have a USPS Priority Mail package that has been stuck in a loop since OCT. 3, 2014: I filed a Claim, Nov 27th. It was denied for the reason that it is in the process of being returned to me, the sender. That would be fine if I would receive it, since I sent it out the receiver has now moved and is no longer at the address used being over 2 months now in transit. I want it returned to me, the return address is correctly displayed on the mailing label.

I have placed over 15 calls to USPS Customer Service, they always tell me that the package is looping and until someone pulls it out, it will remain bouncing back and forth. When the tracking info shows at Knoxville TN, I call the Post Office there and they tell me they cannot locate the package. I have spoken to that branch over 5 times, I also have called Atlanta as well.

It has been to Atlanta, Memphis, and Knoxville over 15 times. No one can help get this package back to me and I cannot even collect the insurance which I paid extra for Priority mail. The item is an alarm system well over $100.00. I have opened a claim with The Better Business Bureau as well, and am prepared to follow through with it. I have been patient and have wasted over 30 hours of my time tracking, making multiple phone calls, and hoping the package will one day show up.

After waiting on hold for over an hour I was told they would look into it. They looked into it, called me back a few hours later to tell me they have no idea what they're doing. They basically told me tough luck.

I went to the post office, they told me it has been delivered. I asked how, when I NEVER received it. I asked the lady I need to speak with the supervisor to open an investigation, what went wrong. They said He's not around so they gave me their office number to call so I can contact the supervisor. I tried several times, I never reach him. Then I went back. The lady I met said "they'll never get to you, wish you good." Very disappointing to me my first experience.

Though I have a mail box option they didn't care to put it there and thrown in front of the locked door. I am not sure if somebody has stolen it or USPS didn't deliver it at all. Do they not at least open the lock and leave in the mailbox? I'm checking with Amazon since he is the seller but this USPS is totally not reliable by my case.

We took the smashed tape in and asked for a refund. She said no, you could have done that or the seller did it. For the other tape she said no, it might still show up. She said we could open a case online, but when we went online it told us to go to the post office. The entire time she kept looking back at the line and sighing, trying to make us leave. We both make less than 10 dollars an hour and we cannot just waste money and not get the item we paid for. I am so nervous about ordering anything now and I don't trust them. It wouldn't be so bad if they would just own up to their mistakes and have a functioning system of giving refunds and actually resolving cases.

I was put on hold for 16 mins. before I hung up and called back then told the supervisor were busy and someone would call me back. No one called so I called back not wanting to miss getting my package again I waited until around 4 pm. Then I was told my package was there at the post office and would be put on the truck and deliver to me on Tuesday. Tuesday no package. I called back at the end of that day and was told again the package would be sent out on Wednesday. Well today is Wednesday and I'm still waiting and wonder why is it taking so long for my package to be delivered since they had it since Friday? What is the problem?

On Monday, Dec 15 when it still had not arrived, I tracked it to learn it had been in Hazelwood, MO but was then sent to Peoria, IL. On the Dec 16 it was sent to Champaign IL. I wasted an hour on the phone only to be told that no one could find it, no one knows where it is now going; and if it was found I would have to pay a costly fee to get it directed back to where it should have been sent in the first place. The first one the carrier picked up from my home and now the USPS has no record of it. However I was sent and email confirmation that the package was picked up but the USPS still won't take blame for it. The second happened a week later and the carrier said he dropped off a large package to my home but I was home the entire day and nothing came. However he marked the package as delivered so they won't do anything. The contents of one of these packages are not replaceable! They refuse to efficiently deliver mail to me and everyone in my neighborhood for about a year now. It seems like the only chance we have of getting our mail and packages is by standing on a line for one or two hours and at times its in vain because they themselves have no idea where the item is. Just recently they lost one of my packages and gave me no help in finding the item but just attitude. Then to add insult to injury I wasn't able to get my money back. They also don't attempt to drop off packages on their truck but rather send me send me notices that it was attempted for delivery but did not even ring my doorbell, even when myself and my wife would be present at the time of delivery.

I'm trying to do my best as of late to only use UPS or FedEx but sometimes they hand it over to my local post office and I end up going through the same experience all over again, which is extremely frustrating, time consuming, and disappointing when they can't find my package. I also noticed that I haven't received any letter mail in a week, so now I'm wondering if the mail carriers are going on strike or what, but that is a concern for me. I need help, my neighborhood needs help and something has to be done to rectify this situation, we just want our mail, is that too much to ask?

He continuously gives my mail to my neighbors and I also get valuable items that belong to my neighbor. Recently I saw the carrier go next door to give my neighbor my priority mail packages that valued over $150. When I went to report him they suggested I get my mail from the post office so the supervisor can monitor this mishap (for some reason it was hard to believe my carrier mis-sorts) and each time in a period of 30 days my mail was misdelivered 25 out of the 30 days. My carrier screwed up my lock within these 30 days and I had to pay $25 to get it replaced! Each time I went to the Post office to complain I got an "I don't know when your mailbox will be ready?" This last time I was so angry I went completely berserk only to get another "I don't know!!!!"

Recently I ordered a priority mail package with a tracking number and I tracked the package at the post office. When I got there today they tell me they don't have the package. I asked them why? I have my mail on hold for 30 days! Where is my tracked package. No one knows where my package is, the supervisor says it could be in my mailbox, this makes no sense because my mail has been on hold for 30 days. It's gone! I can't take this anymore. 10 years of lost packages and 30 days of craps! When will this ever end. Soon the post office will be obsolete and they will wonder why this is!

Nothing is insured with the USPS unless you pay extra for their insurance or ship Priority Mail which includes insurance up to $50 or $100. Says $50 some places and $100 other places but they won't pay it anyway. I ship a lot of things. 100+ a week. Out of the 27 cases of lost/stolen or undelivered mail this year that I have had...they paid on 2. There is always some B.S. reason why the won't pay. It's a joke. Priority mail is not faster and if lost, chances are you will not get paid even though "insurance is included." It's a way to get you to pay double or even triple for something you can mail with First Class. Don't believe me? Mail something First Class ($2.01) and mail the same thing Priority mail ($5.35) at the same time and place. See if Priority gets there faster. It won't. It's a scam.

Save your money because if they lose your package, insured or not, they will take responsibility for it and you'll just have to buy it again. I would love to take these people to court. I have lost thousands of dollars in postage and fake USPS insurance and the lost/stolen merchandise (phone's, TV's etc) but try finding an attorney willing to fight the Federal Government. I do a lot of business with Hastings Entertainment. I order movies from them. I have been for years. Because I have done so much business with them from time to time, I get one time promo codes to use online when I order. Sometimes it is for free shipping, sometimes it is a discount (20%, 30% etc) on the movies I buy. Back in September 2014 I had place 2 orders a few days apart of several movies. The orders totaled 30 plus movies (a few were actually TV shows as in a complete season). Now Hastings does give a disclosure that your order may be shipped in several different packages depending upon the location in where that particular movie is available. I have no problem with this. I received one package, it had 3 movies in it. The mail carrier left it on my top backdoor step. It would not fit into my mailbox. (I live in a rural area.) He did not knock on the door, did not honk his horn to alert me that he dropped off a package. As a result, dogs got hold of the packages and damaged the movies and cases to the point they were trash. Issue number 1. The order was sent out in several packages most of them could fit into my mailbox.

One package contained 12 movies and for some reason it was delivered by UPS which is not common because Hastings doesn't give that method of mailing option. Their method of mailing is always USPS. So that one package was delivered no problem. The remaining movies that were left were included in one package according to Hastings website because it listed the tracking number. It contained 8 movies so the package would have been a nice size. Definitely not one that would fit into my mailbox and definitely noticeable if left on my back porch. (FYI: the back porch is where my driveway is located). According to the USPS website, it was delivered on 09/27/2014. On that day, there was no knock on the door, no horn honking to let me know a package had been dropped off. There was no debris in the yard to show that dogs had gotten a hold of the package and shredded it and its contents. I tried resolving the issue with the local post master. The post office is just one mile from my house. No luck. All I got were apologies for the inconvenience about what happen. And going forward, the mail carrier would place a notification in my box when the package received would not fit into my mailbox.

Then I filed a complaint with the USPS headquarters in Washington, DC. I provided documentation (proof of the purchase of the movies, tracking numbers from USPS website and hastings website) about what happened. I failed to provide pictures of the damages movies and cases so therefore when I received a response back from them, they insinuated in the letter that dogs didn't get a hold of that one package. I had expressed my disappointed and anger about loss of products I had paid for and explained I should be reimbursed for the loss. I was told based on Title 28, U.S.C. Section 2680 (b) that the U.S. Postal Service is specifically excluded by federal law from liability for "any claim arising out of the loss, miscarriage, or negligent transmission of letters or postal matter". Liability is restricted to Registered Mail, Priority Mail Express, Insured, and C.O.D. Mail. And now to top things off, I went to my mailbox at the Post Office to collect my mail and my key won't work. The door is locked/blocked. (12/10/2014). I also received that response letter today. And Yes, I have paid for my 12 months of use of that mailbox at the post office.

Things have slowly gotten worse in the past 2 years regarding the postal service, regarding the post office and the mail carriers. The above referenced incidents are not the only ones I have encountered this year. I am still doing research to see if I can file a civil suit against the mail carrier personally. I know either he stole that one package or he delivered it to the wrong address and those people kept it. Either way, this is far from over with. The postal service employees should be held accountable for their actions.

The day I was anticipating my package, I was out in my living room with my family. Car in the driveway, people were home. The delivery driver stopped in front of my home grabbed the package, and instead of getting out of the vehicle, the deliverer proceeded to chuck my package from the vehicle, to about a quarter of the way down my driveway, nearly underneath my car. Had I not gone outside for a smoke, I wouldn’t have seen the driver driving off. Hence I wouldn’t have known my package was UNDER MY CAR, and may have run it over the next morning, or it would have gotten rained on. I came inside with my package, the box being totally disheveled and beaten up. I opened the box, my computer wrapped and covered with a decent amount of protection. I waited a week and finally went to my local post office, waited over an hour in line because only one person was at the package counter. They kept claiming it was delivery, even though I checked my mail every day. It wasn't. I called their phone # and opened a case. No one ever called me back on the case. I am taking time out of my day to create this review in hopes that it signals to the US Postal Service that they need to improve their Customer Service if they ever hope to retain customers. I was supposed to receive a package two weeks ago, after being mailed 2-day priority. I called to see if the Postal Service could provide some background on why I had not yet received my package, since the online tracking page provided little clarity. After being disconnected, I called back and spoke to an extremely rude customer service representative that told me she didn't know where my package was, but that 2 day priority "really means 2-6 days, but really there's no limit on how long it takes".

To this I replied, "So you're saying there is no guarantee that the package will EVER show up?" She responded that she "couldn't say". It was painfully obvious that this employee was literally saying whatever she could to end the conversation as quickly as possible. She made NO attempt to hide the fact that she could care less about my issue or my business as a customer. After waiting a few days, I contacted the Consumer Affairs department, and spoke with a second employee that was actually more rude than the first. She also stated that there was no guarantee for when my package would arrive, and that if I wanted to find out where it was, I should go to the local post office branch where it was dropped off. I told her I live in a different state, to which she replied "well then make whoever shipped it go". Again, it was apparent that the woman's only goal was to end the call as quickly as possible.

This was literally the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I am so upset with the treatment I received. I will never ship a package through the US Postal Service again. I will also do my best to encourage everyone within my network to avoid using the US Postal Service.

I been receiving packages every week, most products that I order are from China like tablets and more, but yesterday 12/08/14 I suppose to receive a $450 HP laptop. Tracking number said that I received the laptop on 12/08/14 at 10:01 am. BIG LIE, because the Mail person usually opens my patio door and ring the bell leaves the package .... LOOK, this never happened yesterday, this was not delivered to me. I was here all day and no one came, no one rang the bell. I also have very good neighbors, never take nothing from outside. (If they suppose to came at least should say hi to my security camera at the front door.) How weird uh! and I been receiving many open items many open boxes, why? This is unprofessional. I have proof. I been taking pics of that. So yesterday wasn't something cheap, something from China. This time was an HP Laptop and it's gone, nobody knows. I opened a case and investigation is on its way and I will not finish here. I will go any further as I can. On December 8, 2014, she promptly located two Christmas cards with Visa cards I had mailed to my grandchildren in Maryland and Indianapolis earlier that morning. These cards were needed to prove to a local vendor that I was overcharged $250 for them. Her efficient performance and dedication to customers' needs allowed me to resolve the discrepancy. I cannot begin to tell you how many times the USPS tries and sell their priority mail and tracking on the TV. I have for one, see this as a sales gimmick only, as time and time again, you can't track items or they appear to sit in one location for days and all of a sudden show up in the mail box showing delivered! They might as well not offer Tracking with their mail because most of the time it's useless as their employees are too lazy to scan packages and if they don't scan they most certainly are not going to enter it by hand in the machine. Tracking with the USPS for me has been pretty much useless! They've proven that for me anyway!

I occasionally order packages that are delivered via Fedex Smartpost, which means they are transferred to my local post office for delivery. Today marks the fifth lost package in the past six months. I always track my packages, and I always know when they arrive at my Benton Harbor, Michigan post office. I live in a neighboring city, on a normal residential road with a normal residential address, so finding my house is very easy. My packages are always being tossed in the wrong pile and sent to different cities AFTER being received at my local post office.

My package was supposed to be delivered to me 12/4/2014. Four days later, my package has been sent to the other side of the state. I have had packages sent off across the county after being received at my local post office. Everyone that I have spoken with at the Benton Harbor, Michigan post office each time this happens is beyond rude, and today, when speaking to an employee on the phone there, she was adamant that this was MY fault, that I put down the wrong address. I have my receipt right in front of me! I'm not stupid! I wish I never have to deal with these idiots!

My postman normally picks up at noon every day. One day a few months ago he took off and someone else did the route and they completely missed my house. I have a home based business so not good when you have a bunch of orders that need to go. It is now going on 3pm and no one has come to pick up my packages so I called. I was very polite, I just said that my mailman normally comes around noon everyday and he hasn't showed up yet and since my house was missed awhile back I thought I'd better call. The hateful response I received was "uh, yeah, it's called Christmas!" I said, "Well you don't have to be so rude about it." His reply, "well, I can't believe you are calling up here when he's only 3 hours late." Seriously? "I have a business to run therefore you can kiss my **," and I hung up. Oh how I wish I'd gotten that ** name. The Spring Hill location is very rude.

I'm actually quite surprised that they even answered their phone. Last summer I went in to inquire about what would be the most cost effective ways for me to mail items for my business and was told by a woman who worked there that I needed to read the website. The office in Columbia, TN is the complete opposite. Columbia has a very great, friendly and helpful staff but EVERYONE I have encountered in Spring Hill are mean and hateful. I am so upset by the lack of their professionalism that I'm on Google leaving a review and everywhere else I can think of. If you can avoid this post office do it. More than a dozen times in the last year I have gotten someone else's mail whether it be my direct neighbor or the same house number located on another street. Last week my neighbor brought over one of my letters with personal financial information in it. Yesterday there was a box shoved so tightly in the mailbox I had get someone to help me get it out. They were too lazy to get out of the vehicle.

At least 4 or 5 times I have had to call about a package that was electronically marked as delivered but never arrived. Every time the package was delivered by UPS to the USPS who was to then deliver it to me. Instead what happens is that the USPS marks it delivered electronically and I get nothing. It may show up the next day or sometimes I have to call. The last time I called the local post office the manager told it was there and I could come get it. I told her I was sick and couldn't leave which is why I was having it delivered! I have entered multiple complaints and none of them have resolved the issue. They simply don't care.

Today I got an email from UPS stated a package had been delivered. I checked and sure enough there was a package. The problem is that it wasn't mine. I called UPS who said it was the problem of the local post office. So I looked up the number of the local post office on the official website and the number as usual was terminally busy. So I called the 800 number. After about 10 minutes of waiting I got a nice lady that asked me if I tried calling the local number! I told her about the numerous incidents and she said she would take it down and send it over to the local post office but that I should call post office consumer affairs.

I called consumer affairs and waited on the phone for 34 minutes before I got a human being. Let me tell you something, consumer affairs people, a 34 minute wait time is not good customer service. On top of all of that the lady told me that even though the package was marked delivered and I have cameras and someone else’s package to prove I never got mine she couldn't open a complaint until my original complaint had been in for 24 hours! Even though I routinely get wrong mail they wouldn't open a complaint. I see they don't care either. She told me to call the local post master and gave me some different numbers. I said if the manager didn't care then why would the post master care? Her only response was that they tend to care more.

I suppose that caring more than zero would be a little but not enough to change anything. How do I get the post office to care enough to stop giving me other people's mail and not mark anything delivered until it is actually delivered?

This is a complaint about both my local USPS office and USPS’s corporate customer service office. My local mailman claimed that he delivered a package to my locked mailbox more than a month ago. The package, which contained an expensive pair of sunglasses, was never delivered. I am the only one who has a key to my locked mailbox. Thus, there are only two possible scenarios: One, the mailman did not deliver the package to my mailbox, but stole it. Two, he delivered it to the wrong mailbox, and that recipient stole it. Either way, the fault is USPS’s.

I called my local Oak Hill, VA USPS office no less than five times. Each time I called, the phone was answered by a barely intelligible, decidedly unhelpful man who told me each and every time that the person (“Don **”) with whom I needed to speak was not there and would be back the next day. Every day, the same story, the same lie. I was also asked condescending questions such as “Did you look carefully inside your mailbox?” and “Are you sure it’s not in your mailbox?” I was told by this man to instruct the seller to ship another pair of sunglasses. News flash: Sellers do not re-ship $300 sunglasses just because USPS’ incompetent employees lose packages.

Recognizing that the local post office was a waste of time and a complete loss, I contacted USPS’s customer service office. I spoke to two different “customer care” agents, none of whom were helpful. One informed me that USPS would not refund me for the loss (likely theft) of the package and told me that the only action I could take was filing an online complaint against the mailman. Not entirely to my surprise, I discovered that the website would not allow me to file a complaint because my case had already been “resolved.”

Finally, I was referred to a Consumer Affairs representative named Terry, who called back after a week of voicemails from me. She conceded that the most likely explanation for the lost package was theft by the mailman, as well as the difficulty of communicating with my local USPS office, as they had dismissed her inquiries as well. She assured me that she would further investigate, but after more repeated voicemails, did not return my call. Once again, no resolution. All this back-and-forth with USPS for a month, and still no resolution. It has become exceedingly apparent to me that USPS takes no responsibility for the actions of their employees, and certainly no accountability for hiring unfit, dishonest (and thieving?) individuals to support their organization.

In February 2014, I sold a Nikon DSLR valued at approximately $590 on eBay to a bidder in Russia. The shipping costs was about $60. eBay will not permit USPS shipping insurance on packages to Russia, but they encourage you to ship Globally. After approximately 5 weeks and stalled tracking, the buyer filed a case with eBay about not receiving merchandise. The last tracking scan was in Russia but several weeks had passed. eBay paid the claim to the buyer then automatically took the money from my account.

I contacted USPS and initiated a trace in early April. Several weeks later, I received an empty package that was retaped along with some documentation that was printed mostly in Russian. From what I could tell, the package was returned to the US since the weight in Russia did not match the weight on the manifest (which ironically eBay prints the exact description and value of the contents making it a prime target for theft). I took the package intact to the local post office. To this day, not one postal inspector has asked to see the package as it still sits locally in the supervisor's office.

I was finally able to file a claim in June and about 2 months later, received $76. I field an appeal for the remaining funds ($574) and received another $45 which the letter explained was the max payout based on weight. I sent an appeal to the appropriate department at USPS but that was denied for any additional payment. I also filed a complaint with the PA Bureau of Consumer Protection. I received a reply from a Richard ** who informed me that the case was turned over to the USPS Inspectors Office for investigation. Yeah, like they are actually going to investigate and indict themselves for employee theft!

So as of today I am still out the remaining funds but learned not to ship Internationally anymore. It is a shame that USPS will not admit that the contents were removed by their own employees as it is well known that the employees at the ISC have been accused and proven many times to remove package contents.

To me, the USPS entered into a contract with me to provide safe delivery of my package in acceptance of the shipping fees received. They broke the contract by not having proper safeguards in place to prevent employee theft. Further, USPS insurance covers "loss or damage". Nowhere does it state that one must self-insure for employee theft.

I'm trying to find out how I can get the post office to start delivering my mail after a small homeless dog I was just feeding snapped at the mailman. He was not hurt that a small band-aid didn't cover which is still serious and no one should ever be scared to do their job. With that said and trust me I feel very bad about that but the rudeness of the manager at the post office I have no choice but to deal with is crazy. My mail just stopped being delivered about 2 weeks after this happened. I had no notice so kept calling the post office. The phone was busy - never rang not once. So I asked the mailman. He said the manager had my mail and he had a stop delivery order.

So I started going there to find out how to fix this. I went there 5 times and had my daughter-in-law go 3 times. Manager wasn't ever in and one else could tell me what was happening. Finally I caught her in after one of the workers whispered to me she would be in at 3rd. So I went back. She yelled at me and said they will never deliver to my address again. Tried to ask how we could fix this and I had put a lock on my fence and moved the mailbox. She says she doesn't care and for me to leave. How is anyone allowed to treat anyone so badly?

I understand that a dog bite is very, very serious and the delivery people need to be safe but how is her treatment of people OK and how can I find out how I can fix this? I made a report with customer service. They said someone would call me by the end of the next business day. It's been over a month still no call back and when I call them they tell me they don't know but a dog bite is taken very serious as it should be, but really no one can tell me how or if this can ever be fixed. I have been waiting on this parcel since the seventh of November. It is the third of four packages I've ordered. But for some unknown reason it was sent to New York. That wasn't too bad. I was understanding that it is the Thanksgiving holiday and it would rerouted. I checked this morning in the hopes that it would be here in Kentucky where I live, but no it wasn't. It is now sitting in Colorado. It completely bypassed Kentucky all together. I have been now waiting a grand total of twenty days for this package.

Residents received notice from the property manager that the USPS carrier has been told by his supervisor that he would not be able to deliver any packages to residents after the 6 package lockers have been filled, (there are 166 residents in this complex), the packages will be taken back to the post office and the customer must stand in line to pick up the package.

Needless to say, I was unhappy with this new procedure and contacted customer service at 800-275-8777. I filed a complaint with the representative who then gave me the number for the consumer affairs department. She felt I should notify this office as to the problem. After 3 attempts today, holding for 30, 37 and 42 minutes, NO ONE from the consumer affairs department ever answered the phone, I just kept getting the recording over and over and over again. What a horrible way to treat customers, no wonder the USPS is in bankruptcy. I will be going to their Denver office on Monday morning to see if there really are any people answering phones and to file my complaint.

I've been reading comments here where people are being told by the Post Office to rent a mailbox as if this is the safer alternative for receiving mail. It's not. I've been renting a box from the post office for over a year now and they lose every package ever sent. The pkg arrives, it is scanned in, but their clerks, and the worthless management supposed to be supervising them have no idea where the packages are put after the tracking numbers are scanned into the system. All the info I am given is that the pkg arrived from the mailer, it was scanned into the postal system's location and they lost the box. Of course, all of this takes over a week (if you are lucky) to discern as postal employees don't give a toss about the pkg addressed to you that they lost.

There is no accountability at the post office whatsoever and the employees can never be fired since they are part of a public (govt) union. Therefore, they do whatever they like with impunity. I'd wager the employees bust into packages, take whatever they like and then the pkg is mysteriously "lost."

I sent an international mail package with an important document and a few food items. I sent it by priority mail which mentions date of arrival as within two weeks, but it took more than a month to reach, and when it arrived, the food packets inside were opened. When I called to check, the customer service agent was very rude and said that there is no guarantee that the mail would reach within the given time. It is merely the date on which the package leaves the US. How ridiculous! I missed my deadline and had to resend the package using FedEx this time which reached perfectly on time. I ran a loss of $65 on the package for late delivery plus an additional cost for sending via FedEx so another $60 or so. Very disappointed that a huge company like USPS could have such poor service. Unlikely to ever ship by USPS again.

Given the changes of late where UPS & FedEx are trying to help rescue our failing USPS and the inability of EBAY (and other Etsy or International) sellers to insure packages, there are already issues causing major problems for buyers/consumers. USPS cares little about the needs of consumers. I have numerous more packages this week again (purchased on EBAY) lost by postal service whose US Postal Inspectors let me know today, in no certain terms that they bear no responsibility to respond to consumers about cases they open up for investigation. Nor is there any accountability from their investigative branch or the USPS to find our lost packages.

As a result, retailers online are now being subjected to having to insure packages at a much higher shipping cost which inflates the shipping costs to the consumers. The consumers as a result will then merely STOP buying online and go locally to obtain their packages. Or use the ship-to-store programs offered now by the giant, big box retailers.

I was told that even though I had made 7 purchases in the last 6 months that were lost and given case numbers, the dollars did not amount to enough to warrant thorough investigations. Wow, our USPS is really a top-notch group? So, let us think this through a moment...not sure how many sellers on EBAY alone or buyers but let us assume for sake of this exercise 100,000 of each. Each sellers sells only 1 item to buyers so 100,000 items; average cost of $5 or $500,000. Shipping averages $2 per item or $$1 million dollars. How much is being lost just right here, percentage wise? And what about buying customers?

All of the 3 vendors on EBAY I bought from said, SORRY, not my problem. Good luck. And it really isn't, they got their money after all. It is just the buyer that is out the money. Oh, but let's think about this now...buy local, guarantee item in your hand...pay a little more...or buy online, no way to know if or if ever you will receive items and then as a result of lost mail...have to reinvest again? Result loss of buyers online and there will undoubtedly be an impact.

I will not buy anymore there from small vendors (exactly who EBAY is for) or from international who will not or cannot insure their packages. I may pay more initially by buying locally but much less than buying twice and dealing with the loss and irresponsibility of the USPS. I will find a way to penalize the USPS system and use another service. It is time for them to wash this program and get new leadership and management and move out these irresponsible people who do not know what it means to work in the real world anymore.

I continue to marvel at the outstandingly poor customer service I am forced to endure in order to receive certain packages (because, unfortunately, not everyone uses FedEx or UPS nowadays; I just have to make do sometimes with an order that won't come any other way than via the U.S. Postal Service. God help me). My most recent package was delayed in customs and showed up online as not being deliverable until tomorrow (11/26/14). Knowing how inaccurate the USPS website can be, I waited all of the morning today anyway (11/25) -- and most of the afternoon.

Sure enough, my package arrived on the day their website said it wouldn't (and couldn't) be delivered. As I expected, I raced to the front door to no avail, as the postman scribbled a "sorry we missed you note" at what must have been lightning speed and disappeared before I could get the door open. Now I have to drive down to the USPS office and wait an eternity in endless lines for just one measly envelope. Why, oh why can't the system be privatized completely? In the government's hands, customer service will never improve.

Waited 3 weeks, received letter in mail telling me to take proof of value to local post office. Took additional documentation to local post office, was told by the employee there that I was interfering with her lunch hour (different employee stated the same exact thing when I shipped the item originally). Said she would fax the documents to the claims department. Called claims department same day and they said they hadn't received anything. Went online to their new website where I could upload the additional documents and attach them to my claim. Called a week later and the customer service couldn't help. Called claims department again and they had not received additional documentation. Asked that I send them additional information via mail.

At this point I pretty much went postal on the postal service as I'm not going to give them additional money in the form of a first class stamp and send them documentation that I had already given to them and they can't keep track of. Lady tried to calm me down, gave me a case # and said I should receive a call from a supervisor within 48 hours. I'm willing to bet that's not going to happen. The USPS thinks just because they're a government funded operation, that they can ** all over people and they have no recourse. So here I am, writing out my frustrations on a board that's probably not going to do anything about it either. The USPS needed to be shut down about 15 years ago. Worst service and employees I've ever dealt with; they're not a business, they're a nuisance.

I checked the tracking number and the only scan was on the 18th saying it departed the Brazoria Office and was in transit to the sorting facility, which is in Houston. On the 22nd I called customer support asking wtf was going on. They opened a case and said to wait for a phone call so they can track it down. I waited a couple days and called back. They told me there is no information yet but to wait for a call. So I asked her if she could contact the Brazoria office and ask if it was still there. All she could do is send an email and open another case. She told me to wait for another call...BS.

So today I went to the Brazoria office and asked wtf is my package and all the lady could tell me is that it left on the 18th to go to the sort facility so she can't do any thing until it gets scanned again. How the heck does a package get lost at the sort facility and why aren't they doing anything about it? Seems like they just don't care. As I was waiting for the lady to check on my package, I watched other postal employees throw around other peoples' packages. This might just be the last time I use USPS for anything. I hand her the same piece of paper printed from my computer with the tracking number and my ID.

She DID not read, only glance, and said, "I can't track your package with this because this is FedEx." I replied, "No, miss, if you read the paper it states the US Postal Service will deliver this package." She shove the paper and my ID back to me. I ask to speak to a manager. She said, "I am the manager". And she called the next person. I stayed calm and just shook my head and said god please help me to stay calm. I called FedEx, ask them for the tracking number. They said, "Miss, it's the same number." The only difference is they have to put 92 before the number, which was the same exact number. I had on the paper and remember I was in the post for two days prior to Thursday. I got no problem from the teller, with the same tracking number.

My husband and I live on the 5th floor of a condominium building with an elevator. We have had ongoing problems with delivery of our mail. Whenever a signature is required, the mail is signed for and left with someone else. If no one is available, the carrier places a form in our mailbox saying he attempted to deliver, but missed us - even though we were at home all day and no one came to our door. The same is true for parcels. They are left in the the lobby of our building where anyone could take them. Numerous calls to our local Postmaster have been fruitless. She always says she will talk with the carrier and tell us his reason for non-delivery.

Today was the final straw! A neighbor happened to notice a large box - clearly marked "PERISHABLE" - left in the lobby. It contained an order of food that we had paid over $50 to have delivered. If our neighbor had not seen it, it might have spoiled before we checked our mail. This would have meant a $200 loss. When I called the Postmaster, she once again said she would talk with the carrier. Then she suggested that we take a Post Office box and pick up our mail at the Post Office!

She refused to answer my question about the legality of the current practice nor comment on my repeated statements that we want our mail delivered to us and not left in the lobby nor given to anyone else. She also defended the carrier saying he had concerns about the elevator functioning correctly. I told her that unless he sees a sign saying the elevator is out of order, it is working correctly and safe to use. I'm sick of all the excuses for lack of service and plan to file an official complaint with the US Postmaster General.

Each time, I have to call the old post office and tell them to go to the old address to retrieve each package. Then the package is sent to a twilight zone-located "Forwarding Center." Here the package languishes for 2-3 week with no tracking scans. Why does it take 2-3 weeks to forward a package only six (6) driving hours away? Why are there no tracking scans for arrival and departure from the "Forwarding Center?"

I have a forward in place that I was under the understanding was good for up to a year (it has been 4 months) but she is returning mail that is not addressed to the PO Box. She is also returning my mortgage statements that have the street address as well as the PO Box on them. The house we purchased has been vacant for the past few years due to the fact that the previous owners are elderly so they moved to assisted living.

When they moved they took the mail box down, so we did put up a new one within the specifications of the USPS. She told me that she cannot get a route extension to have mail delivered to my house, again I live ONE block from the Post Office and all others on my street have mail delivered to their homes. We have huge corner lot and we purchased the lot next door so we are the only house on the block. She bypasses our block altogether and does not want to have to change the route. I did some research and was told that she does not need a route extension to deliver to us, she needs to put in for a route reinstatement and these are almost always approved. I have logged complaints with the USPS but they always forward them on to her, she calls me and then marks them as resolved when they are NOT resolved. Nycha states it’s the USPS that has to fix it and USPS says its Nycha fault. In all of this we still have no mail. Bill are at a high and are past due.

I contacted the Supervisor at my local post office, filed the complaints and was told they would get back to me in a short time. Not hearing anything I called the 800 number and found I have not one missing package complaint and one of those was done through the 800 number because I hadn't heard back from my local office, was told they would look into it and I would receive a refund if they were unable to find it. Today is my 4th time and I called the 800 service, I was told to give until Monday and then they will allow me to file a claim. I will post the outcome come Monday. If you can avoid using the US Post office for shipping anything I would do so use any other carrier if possible.

I shipped the package from Las Vegas, and the post office marked the package as delivered - but did not return it to me, and did not bring it to the customer. Is this why their prices are lower than fedex? Because they only deliver 90% of the mail? What do they do with the rest? Christmas gifts for the employees in the back??

I call the number on the letter and I was told to give it a few more days so I gave it a week, no mail showed up. So I called again, they gave me to this other guy. He said give it another week, I did. No mail showed up. So, I called back again, this time they told me that they were going to open a case to find my mail. Well today the case manager called, after about minutes looking at my information on his computer screen, he said that my mail is lost.

I posted an envelope to myself, which I did not receive. I never had a problem at my former residence. I have no idea how much or what mail I am not receiving. My neighbors receive some of my post, but I'm not sure if they walk all of it over to me. They told me to contact the supervisor at the post office 954-527-2054. I have been calling this number for 3 days straight without an answer. I called and they gave me two other numbers 954-765-5720 and 954-527-6990. Nobody is picking up any of the phones. They tried delivering my package to the wrong address on 11/08/2014 and 11/10/2014. I told them the addresses are no longer active as the company was sold out. I had taken out a case number on Saturday, I have spoken with Consumer Advocate. However, they keep on giving me the same number to call.

They got my money and telling me that interception is not guarantee. My interception request is still showing in progress. How can it be in progress if the item has been at the same post office since 11/08/2014? They are not doing anything to locate the package, they already get paid twice. So, who cares? Along with many others on this site, I USED to have a good experience with the postal service until they started outsourcing all their delivery and shutting down distribution hubs. Now it's a crap shoot whether my mail ever makes it out of Hazelwood MO. Sent two separate pre-paid visa cards to a family member, both insured, neither made it to their destination. The second attempt (after filing an insurance claim I now discover the PO will not honor) resulted in an envelope that had been opened and emptied (with a giant smiley face on it) and this was clearly the work of someone in the postal chain.

When attempting to claim insurance, PO won't insure items like this beyond $15. They don't tell you this of course, gladly taking your money for any amount of insurance you want to buy. Plus, when I investigated further I discovered that mail is now outsourced to third parties outside the postal service and the USPO takes no responsibility for them. They also fail to mention that as well. Your mail can be handled and stolen by anyone and the postal service will tell you it is not their responsibility.

In essence, any items of any value whatsoever are not safe. Nobody should be using the postal service for anything other than junk or bills. Not even check orders from your bank are safe as anyone from anywhere can get hold of them and commit identity theft before you even know your items are missing. US POSTAL service now a cesspool of thieves.

No tracking info is updated or scanned in. They deliver to the wrong address and do not care. I try to file a claim and am told someone else has already filed it. When talking to an investigator I am told my $400.00 package is not worth their time, they have bigger claims to investigate. Last time I checked, taking someone else's mail or filing a claim you are not responsible for is a FEDERAL OFFENSE and is a crime. I have lost over $800.00 due the USPS not caring. I am about to cancel my mail and ship through UPS or FedEx. The sad part is they get paid to do a job that they do not do and no body cares. If I did not do my job I would be fired. Or if I stole a postal worker's package you better believe they would be hunting me down.

How hard is it to scan a package and update the tracking. There are so many dirt bags out there that are taking advantage of the post office not scanning stuff in. Even worse I'm told my $400.00 package is not worth their time. OK, then I'll go to your house and steal your mail and see how you react, bet you would be mad no matter how much it was. I work hard for my money and do not deserve to be treated like I am nothing. My packages have to be somewhere. Oh ya, probably sitting in a postal worker's house.

I've high tolerance for many things. But there is always a threshold and I think I am just enough with USPS now. They've lost my very important time sensitive material for a school application which will have a permanent effect on my whole life. (I choose 1-day priority and they lost my package... It seems I should just let it flow in the regular mail and there might be a better chance arrive instead of just got lost...) Their postman/delivery man never deliver. This happens to many of my friends who lives in different regions. The post man seems only drive out the truck for a round for a whole day, leave notices in the mailboxes saying no one is available (when actually, many times, people are available at home) and drive back, waiting for residences to pick the packages by themselves in the post office...

Two of my packages got lost by USPS but none for other delivery companies like UPS and Fedex, no matter what the method of the mail is. This indicates something. The mailman may either be careless about their package, or even no proof, may just "take" it conveniently. I can feel that their employees are not happy, or to say, very unhappy among many other professionals. I don't know how much they got paid, but I guess not much at all, since they seems don't care about doing their job well or lose their job at all... And the most important thing is, their bosses, even the biggest boss, does not care about doing the job well either, since the facts have proved that, the government will not let them go, no matter what they do, or how bad they are.

On Monday 20th Oct I mailed and insured a package via Priority 2 day to VA. This package was due to be taken to the Caribbean on Oct 26th. The package contained items I purchased for my dying grandmother who suffered a bad stroke the week before. I had also ordered items from Amazon so when I checked the tracking information I noticed that the 2 Amazon packages were delivered via USPS at 3:06pm on Oct 23rd and the package I had mailed was also delivered on Oct 23rd but at 5:50pm.

The recipient received the 2 Amazon boxes but the package I mailed was not delivered even though it showed up as being delivered. I called the USPS 1-800 number & was told to call the local post office where the package departed for delivery. They checked to see if the package was still at their office but it wasn't and the courier was not in so I gave them my number and I was told that they would follow up after speaking to the courier. Days passed and I never got a call from them so I went to my local post office and made a complaint and they called the local post office in VA who said they would call but as before never called!

I called the 1 800 # and was given a case#. I was told that because the package was scanned as delivered that it was in fact delivered even though I told them it was never received. I then asked about whether I would be able to file a claim since it was insured - I was told that because the package was insured for less than $201 I would not get back any money because it is the couriers word against ours (that the package was in fact delivered - in other words we were lying about the package not being received) - and they closed the case.

I was appalled and called back because I had proof that the 2 Amazon packages which was of greater value was received yet my package was not - so a new case was opened up because the only thing we could think about was possible mail theft. By this time my relative had already left for the Caribbean and I was in tears literally every day knowing that my grandmother would pass away and never receive the items I bought for her from my kids. I was about to file a report about possible mail theft when I decided to call the local post office one more time. To my surprise after being put on hold twice by 2 different people - the package was located and according to them it was delivered to a wrong address and the person had called USPS to let them know they had my package so the courier picked it up and I told them to hold it at their office for me because my relative is already in the Caribbean.

I am going to my local post office to see if the package can be returned to my local post office and I am so scared that it would get lost again. I am happy that the package was located but I am still upset over this entire ordeal. No one even apologized for this and they never even called to let me know that the lost (or I thought stolen) package was retrieved. I would NEVER use USPS again!

The name is** , at 8115 Queens boulevard, Elmhurst, New York 11373. Tracking number: **. The package that I sent was an iPhone 6, but when my sister opened that package, there's an iPhone 4 inside. Even though my sister received the package on Thursday, October 23rd 2014, she hasn't opened it until Monday, October 27th 2014 because she was busy moving out. Soon after she has some free time, she opened it, and so shocked about the package inside. I'm assuming, someone opened my package, switched the item, sealed it back nicely and delivered to my sister. I would like to request the investigation about this matter. I put the insurance with this package, I thought it will be safe if I sent by USPS, but the fact it's not trustworthy enough. I enclosed this email with the picture of my tracking number, insured mail receipt and the post office picture.

I smell something fishy about the shipping. I chose priority mail service on Oct 18th (you can see from the stamp on the receipt), the clerk said it might takes 2/3 days, which is I expected the delivery on Monday 20th. But after I tracked it online, it said they just received my package on Monday 20th. And my sister just received it on Thursday 23rd. Don't you think it's kinda weird for priority mail takes 6 days (from Oct 18th-23rd) to be delivered? It's a crime! I did filing the complaint to the Postal Inspector NY, but no one call me back regarding this matter. I do have the case number. On Tuesday morning, I went to the post office, spoke with the clerk lady who received my package, she didn't help me at all. I asked about the manager, she said "the manager is not here". I asked, "Can you please call the manager or when the manager will be here? Because this is a crime." And she said "I can't call the manager, I don't know when the manager will come!" With the attitude and screamed to me! Come on, I'm the victim. I have the right to ask regarding my stolen item. Please investigate this case.

    3. Called USPS again and found that the Case had been CLOSED by the Investigator with the comments "Delivered at cleaners". I was not informed of this status. Checked back at cleaners, and still no sign. Case reopened 29th October 10:30AM. Promised call back before same time tomorrow.

    4. No call back at promised time. Called USPS again and found to my horror Case had been CLOSED again, with the same comments! Requested for Case to be reopened and to be kept open until clear evidence exists that the package has indeed been delivered as mentioned. I showed up the next day - Tuesday - and was advised that the mail was sent to whatever office for delivery as I did not pick it up as agreed on Friday??? Today 10/30/14- I have yet to receive that piece of mail??? (two weeks later). More importantly, I have written proof of institutional mailings from date of 9/19/14 of which to this date (10/30/14) I have not received via forwarding (COA).

Upon my last and final visit to the local post office and speaking with the 1st shift postal carrier supervisor to inquire again regarding my mail, she stated "No mail was delivered to previous address, the new postal carrier for your current address is stating that she is delivering mail to your new address, and finally maybe the mail you were expecting was non-forwardable??? You know that magazines, etc... you have to contact them directly to forward your mail".

I explained to the 1st shift postal supervisor: 1) The mail that I have received at new and current address is for people who do not live there ....coupon flyers, village memos, non-direct mail to me. 2) I inquired about mail that was forwarded prior to 10/01/14- Where is that mail(9/20-10/03)??? I have not received it. I filed numerous complaints. I thought I was following the channels and it seems that no one cares!!! I have been inconvenienced, suffered financial distress, and just plainly ignored!!!

Let me start out by saying I don't know the responsibilities or "do's and don'ts" of a mail delivers job. Since they are paid to perform it and required to know their job, I didn't think I'd have to. A few weeks ago, a USPS delivery person asked if I would sign a single green certified letter card with nothing else attached (including a return address) so she could deliver it to me the next day. Thinking nothing of it, I signed my name and went about my day. A few days later, I go over to ask the managers of the apartments my children and I live in an unrelated question. They make a confused face at me when I asked it then said hatefully, "Oh you don't know?" and my heart immediately dropped in fear. "You're getting evicted and you signed for your eviction notice via certified mail."

In my utter shock from what was said, I not only realized the certified letter I had signed for had never been actually delivered to me like promised, BUT my children and I were going to get evicted since the time span for me to respond to the notice and save our home passed due to her negligence/inability to perform her duties correctly. In a few days, my two young children and I will be staying at a homeless shelter. My eldest will have to forfeit her title as class president among many other things because we're moving! I don't have the funds to hire an attorney since I can't even afford to get us another home right now.

Not knowing if your children will have a safe place to lay their heads at night is absolutely terrifying! Children need stability to thrive and the mail delivery person who didn't do their job which created this mess that's jeopardized their well-being. I don't know what to do from here about this situation, so as of now all I can say is I hope this unnecessary fiasco doesn't happen to anyone else!

On Oct. 1 we sent off bills and today Oct. 30, the companies still haven't received them. A family member sent a package with insurance a day after and the website hasn't changed since the package was sent. We never had this issue, so what is different now? Normally it take about a week for our bills to post and about two weeks for packages to come.

I decided to close my US post office box after many years due to generally poor service. I submitted my official change of address (and made sure it was indeed through the USPS) both online and in person at the post office. I received a confirmation email and a confirmation letter at my home address. It has been nearly 3 weeks and I have received sporadic pieces of mail but not the bulk of my mail. I went into the post office 1 week ago (after 2 weeks of no mail) to ask when I could expect to start receiving my mail. The clerk told me 2 weeks (it had already been 2 weeks) and that she remembered my name and "just processed it today so you should be getting a big chunk of mail any day now. That was a week ago. I have time sensitive mail and am at risk of having some financial problems if I don't receive my mail. Is there any way I can speed this up, and if I do run into problems due to this delay, what is my recourse?

We had mail returned to us with the yellow forwarding sticker on it but the letter was addressed to "Resident". I checked online and the address & zip code were correct. I tried to call the post office to find out why it was returned. All the phone #'s for the Dabney Road post office were "Out of Service". I called the main post office in our area. First the man argued with me that the carrier had to tell the supervisors whether or not the address was correct before they could tell me. He finally gave me a number for Dabney Road post office. I called and the man that answered was in boxes and gave me another #. I called it and got some girl that had no idea what was going on. She also had no idea when a supervisor would be available or who they might be. I called the complaint department. Really professional and nice, but to no avail.

He put in 3 complaints for me and told me I would be getting 3 phone calls and told me not to mail the letter until they called me. They never called. A week later I called the complaint department again. Again really nice and professional, but she told me all of the complaints had been escalated to consumer affairs and that I had been contacted. No I hadn't. I asked her to have consumer affairs call me. I mailed the letter. Two days later I got 4 pieces of mail back with yellow forwarding stickers. I called again. This time they gave me some new phone #'s to call. I called the Jacqueline ** in VA Consumer Affairs. The phone rang about 20 times before I gave up.

The google search I performed to change my postal address brought this company up first, and it indicates its names is "USPS® Address Change™ - Official USPS® Form". I take full responsibility for assuming this was somehow affiliated with the actual USPS, but it is indeed not. I've changed my address a few times this year, so I was quite surprised I somehow fell for this scheme. This should make the public aware at how much this company's homepage mimics the actual USPS site. On the next page I unclicked all of their special offers. A note that this is incredibly similar to the genuine USPS experience.

On the payment page, this is the small print at the top of the page: "Our service utilizes highly secure 128-bit encryption over SSL to ensure that your address change remains private. Your order will be processed over a secure channel by a leading-edge credit card gateway and is entirely encrypted throughout the process. After you have made your online order over this secure channel, you will shortly thereafter obtain a confirmation email including your receipt. Your address change will then begin immediately! Please note there is a one-time nominal fee of $39.95 which is for your USPS address change, notification of up to 100 additional organizations, up to 3 months of free address changes under your name, access to additional moving hints, a custom movers kit, several moving-related coupons, and also access to unique offers related to your relocation."

Anyone who's done this before, it's easy to think you're on the USPS page, but indeed you are not. Unfortunately, I see now in the fine print their statement of $39.95, which is entirely my fault, despite how frustrating it is. I came here last August 20, 2014 @ the airport. After fingerprint scanning and so on they told me I must wait 2 weeks before I get my green card. Our family decided to move to a new place that was on September 08, 2014. Before we moved in we settled our change address in post office so that our letters will be forwarded to the new place. And my husband also changed the address in USCIS online for my green card. Unfortunately, I did not received my green card but the fact that our other letters came in with yellow sticker on it except for my green card. That is so terrible because we need to file I-90 and pay $450.00 for it.

It is so heart aching for this experience. I don't know whose fault it is but please don't be so cruel that after we talked to the supervisor in USPS he said it might lost and we must need to call USCIS to report it. After hearing that, my mind is saying 'So that's it? you delivered that letter on Sept. 27 and now you have no concern for us how to take it bec. it's too late to track and get it.' Knowing that the new resident in our old place did not received it. What about the change address we made, is it useless for that one very important document?

I have respect for the hardworking mail carriers who do their job well, and this report is not against them. It is against the larger agency for failing to keep up with the times and failing their customers (while making it illegal for there to be competition). It is sad that this monopoly exists because if they were in the corporate world, their doors would have been shuttered decades ago. Here is my most recent run in, which is indicative of much larger issues:

    1. I called the 1-800 number to get advice on the best way to get mail forwarded to a new location, and told them I had a month to plan but the most important thing was that I needed mail at the new address on 10/15. I was advised to fill out a form online and put that as the start date, and they would begin processing the request right away. This was on 10/6.

    2. I stopped receiving mail at the old location on 10/13. I was getting nervous, because I run a business, and there was no mail in the new location either.

    3. By 10/20, I was getting frantic. I was getting calls from customers, creditors and shippers saying packages were not arriving. I asked for patience and explained I had just moved. I had started to trace packages on the USPS website, with tracking numbers, and was horrified that they simply stopped updating the whereabouts of packages on 10/17. When you pay for a tracking service, and you pay for 2-day delivery, this is unacceptable. UPS and FedEx would never do this. Inexplicably, it said all my packages had been sent to New Jersey. I live in CT.

    4. By 10/24, I was unable to hold off anymore as things were getting ugly with customers. I called the national number. They acknowledged that this was unacceptable and directed me to the local post office. The local post office supervisor (by the name of Anita) informed me that this was typical as their process (that is not stated) is that any forwarding requests require that each piece of mail be delivered to an out of state processing plant. Then, they get a yellow sticker. Then they are sent back to the post office in town. Then, they are delivered back. This happens, in Anita's words, "In dribs and drabs" and customers should not expect any mail for at least 10 days after they move.

What?? I informed her that I specifically addressed this a month prior to my move. I informed her that I run a business and would never have used the USPS had someone told me this. In today's world, you cannot run a company and risk having your mail delivered 15 days after it was supposed to arrive (10 days, + the original 5 days to get to me in the first place). She got an attitude and said there was nothing she or anyone would do to help and this is how it is. She also said that they do not plan on making any improvements to their process. There goes 21st century advances! In a nutshell, if you want/need mail, don't use the Postal Service. Just cough up a few extra bucks for FedEx or UPS... It will be worth it in the long run.

I have witnessed Mr. ** logging onto these fire calls at various days and times throughout normal working hours of 9 AM to 5 PM, five days a week from January 2008 to October 2011. The postal inspection office needs to investigate this.

The Plantation Fire Department pays $6.00 for every logged-in/fingered-in fire call made. And when a postal carrier abandons his federal duty as a postal employee to respond to a paid fire call this results in Felony Embezzlement. We pay for federal stamps to deliver our letters and packages to their designated addresses and not to the local fire department. I've witnessed Randall ** logging on to fire calls more than a hundred times while his assigned postal truck is parked at Station One and while he is in his postal uniform.

These fire calls are documented and can be verified with dates and times. Mr. ** is currently employed as a postal carrier at the United States Postal Service and may possibly still be a volunteer firefighter with the Plantation Fire Department. We have community locking mailboxes on the corner, a small walk down from my house. Mail carrier doesn't deliver until around 6 o'clock and I never know whose mail I am getting and what mail I'm not getting. I have had numerous packages just "not show up". I have lost so much money because of USPS. I just cross my fingers every day and HOPE I get my mail. It is so frustrating knowing that the mail carrier either steals mail or gives it to someone else and unfortunately no one has been honest enough to give us our packages. Although we have delivered many that we have received to their rightful owners.

I seriously hope USPS goes out of business completely because I have not had any problems with UPS or FEDEX. The mail carriers for USPS are just extremely lazy and dishonest. Seems that complaining doesn't do a lick of good because no one cares. Something really needs to be done. I might just start standing out at the mailbox everyday waiting for my mail. As duly authorized U.S. Department of Justice NGO fighting government corruption, I recently sent as the president of Philippine Anticorruption Movement USA, Inc. (Pamusa) a Certified Mail with enclosures in a Manila envelope from the Norwalk, CA 90650 PO with Tracking No.** on 9/18/14 and a return card receipt to the FBI Los Angeles Field Office at the Federal Bldg., 11000 Wilshire Blvd., LA 90024. Worried that something wrong happened with such important mail, I called up the Norwalk PO supervisor "Cliff" on 10/10/14 to find out why I haven't received the return card and saw him the following day but he had nothing to tell me.

We agreed I should go myself to the Village PO at the Federal Building, 11000 Wilshire Blvd, LA 90024 which I did on Wed., 10/15/14 and talked to a counter-lady "Jacqueline." After explaining my purpose, she excused herself and went to the back when about 20 minutes later, she told me my mail wasn't delivered. She explained that as usually happens when no one could bring the certified mail to FBI at the 17th floor and have the return card signed, the mail is placed in a box until someone can deliver it.

Nothing of the sort happened. It's probably a weekend and finding the mail was still there it's presumed nobody would receive it and its delivery failed, so it's sent to South Barrington Street PO to be returned to sender. I went to the S. Barrington St. PO and talked to a lady supposing to be sorting the mails to be returned to senders, but she couldn't find our mail. After talking to her supervisor, Toni came back and said the supervisor remembered that particular mail in big Manila envelope was returned to the Norwalk PO to be returned as "undelivered" to sender, which as of today (10/17/14 2:00PM) we haven't received.

The truth is the mail contains Pamusa's my covering letter and the evidence of a corruption case in the Philippines involving a former president and his family that have amassed illicit assets here in the U.S. amounting most probably to about $500 million, which Philippine authorities and Pamusa have been investigating this past several years.

We are afraid the former president's trustee, Yolanda **, who escaped FBI's custody when she's supposed to be a witness against the former president, and her husband, **(?), residents of **, have moles in the Federal Bldg.'s Village PO and have formed a cabal to read letters to the FBI LA office especially from our company well known now hunting current and former high Philippine government officials, their close associates and family members, or private businessmen and individuals that colluded with them in committing the worst government corruption in the country.

With the millions of dollars at their disposal, it should not be a surprise for the husband and wife to pay a low-salaried postal employee to connive with them as we suspect. If you agree we can lay a trap and catch them in their criminal scheme. Just let me know who's handling this case at your end. I'm at your further disposal whenever I can be of help.

The card with no check was rec'd. The card with check never rec'd??? Whoever is stealing must of assumed there was money in card. Hmmm Wonder what they will do with the check? Watching closely to see if it's cashed. Another resident at same address had card sent to her with gift card enclosed from her parents, she never rec'd it.

I have an assigned mail box and I usually receive mail everyday. The other day my water was disconnected and when I call the water department I was informed that I was disconnected for no payment. I told them that I did not received any invoice that I did not received any mail. Therefore I went to the post office to see what was going on; the manager told me that they had my mail box was so full and they decided to delivered to the office without living any notice, no cause at all. I pick up a huge box full of mail and when I went to check it, I found out that 75% of it was not mine. I have been having calls from different banks and firms reminding my payments or my notifications to some of the notices they have been sent. All these days I continue not receiving mail!!! I been charged late fees and it is causing me so much problems! This is unbelievable!

US POST OFFICE LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY - I am dismayed to what level of dysfunction our postal service has sunk. I recently sent a package priority mail from Novato, CA to Milford, Connecticut containing new clothes that my daughter for a new job. She was starting on the East Coast. The package weighing 18 1/2 lbs, costing $60 to send, fortunately/unfortunately included recently purchased clothes, leather boots and other items needed for professional wear in consideration the East Coast climate. The package never arrived to its destination on the expected priority mail date, nor five days later.

I began calling to find its whereabouts, given we had a tracking number. This entailed numerous calls to numerous referred postal agencies, often completely irrelevant to my concerns, each requiring extensive call waiting periods or even hang ups after 30 mins.. Needless to say I finally was able to reach a man called Mike who acknowledged that the package had been held up in Bell Gardens, CA and who promised to get to the bottom of this and call me the following day. I never received the call, but did get a tracking response that the package was in transit.

The package arrived eleven days beyond the expected time, which would have been fine had it not now contained random trash upon being opened. My daughter called me in tears. The package had been inconspicuously sealed and was not accompanied by any notification from the post office that anything unusual had happened to it. Nevertheless it contained various packaging material, random shoes, a calendar, a broken ipad, etc none of which belonged to my daughter. I called the post office, where I was told it was beyond their control, but I was nevertheless given a lot of random numbers to call.

I called Bell Garden again and was told that the package had left their premises after five days at 11 lbs. While in their custody the package had lost almost 8 lbs. My daughter and I have pursued every possible avenue within the postal system, request accountability for some financial responsibility, all of which have been moot! I contacted the inspector general and finally received a call back from them three weeks later in which their agent, Anthony **, informed us that they would investigate, but there was nothing else the US Post Office could do. After a somewhat heated discussion he hung up on my husband and when we tried to return the call, the number was deemed no longer available.

My daughter's recently purchased clothes and leather boots retailed around $1000. Though it is true that in retrospect additional insurance should have been purchased, we did not expect any breakage, nor loss, given the size of the package, but never suspected internal theft. At one point when I went to talk to a supervisor in our local post office, another client was there, reporting a similar incidence.

Based on my experience, the Post Office officials have done everything possible to rationalize and cover up this theft. They totally have wanted to ignore that the priority package was stuck in Bell Garden for almost a week and that it was 8lbs lighter upon leaving their facility, according to one of their spokespeople. Apparently, this is not an isolated case, given various conversation with local postal employees! I am so disenchanted in finding yet another public agency falling pray to corruption and bureaucratic decay!

My experience with USPS. The rep at 800AsksUSPS was wonderful, but as for the Sup in my district and the so called analyst Mrs. **, well their behavior was something that I would not even endure my enemy too. I mailed a package Sept 19 to Coxsackie, NY only to be told by my boyfriend he had not received it. Long story short I was told package was going to recovery in Atlanta, GA? So I am going thru all the measures needed to be taken to retrieve my pkg. I hearing it did not return to me because of insufficient add. At this point I am, "wow, USPS are the ones who give the sticker and tape to ensure it gets there. Why is this happening?" Speaking with the sup the next day in my district he explained recovery had my pck and there was nothing he could do. He give me a recovery add.

I asked for a number. He said there was none and found there was later. His speaking manner and the USPS Analyst character Mrs. ** as well ** were REALLY something to be desired. I was told from the USPS rep at the 800AsksUSPS who were absolutely wonderful that the USPS analyst handled the entire matter incorrectly and all could have been resolved before going to recovery so that I could have gotten my package back. No package, no anything after numerous complaint. I think the USPS Analysts are crap!!! And the mail recovery room I think they are all a BUNCH of CRIMINALS, with the except of the postal workers at the 800AsksUSPS extreme courtesy. UTTER DISGUST!!!

Around May of this year I believe the mail carrier damaged my mailbox by hitting with the company's vehicle. As a result my mailbox has a dent in it. When closing, it requires a firm push. At random times when my mail is delivered, my box is left opened. I have saw the mail representative leave my mail box open. I have called the main post office a few times and filed a complaint on this number, 1800-275-8777 on Sept 16, 2014. When I called the main post office located in Spartanburg on Church Street, I spoke with the assistant postmaster. I don't remember her name. However, she told me that isn't the mail person responsibility to shut my mail box. She said they are not allowed to close the mail box after attempting to close it the first time. They cant replace my mail box unless they have proof of the mail representative hitting it. She stated that the mail person has high job demands and they don't have time for that. She made another sarcastic remark and I ended the conversation.

Then I called 1800-275-8777 and filed a complaint. I was told by representative that the mail staff are not suppose to leave my mail box open. Likewise my mail could get damaged from bad weather or easily stolen. I was told somebody from the mail post office would contact me within 48 hours. On 9/19/2014, I called the same number again after I didn't receive a response. Then, two days later I received a brief phone call from consumers affair stating somebody from the main post office would contact me within a few days.

On 9/29/2014, I hadn't been contacted and I took the initiative to call the main post office. I spoke with the post master Vienna around 4:28pm. I explain to her my concern about my mail box. I told her my mailbox is periodically being left open by mail staff. I told her I have watched them leave my box open. I indicated that I have even suggested to place my mail in the mailbox on the porch instead of the street box. (The other neighbors across from me and in the neighborhood have their mail delivered to the mail box located on the porch.)

I suggested the mail box on the street to be replaced. I told her how the last person I spoke with there was unprofessional. She assured me the matter would be resolved and she would talk with the mail carriers. She told me if I have anymore problems to call her. She apologize for any inconvenience I had experienced. I told her that my mailbox is right off the street, anybody walking by could grab my mail. Then the next day after our conversation, my mail box was open again. I called back to the main post office even after I stated I wouldn't. Again trying to compromise. On 10/1/2014, I left a message for Vienna with a staff member. I haven't received a phone call back.

Send a parcel with an antique bronze to Canada, was delivered broken, had to refund the buyer immediately (Ebay). Parcel was insured, so I received a letter from USPS claims, they would not refund, if the parcel and damage were not presented to file a report. Had filed a report previously on the phone and received Case number and request, to present damaged parcel and good to USPS.

Went to USPS 90 Church Street in New York today and spent there 1.5 hours. First I send two letters to Germany, then I asked to present the parcel and the damage as per letter I received from USPS claims. The lady at the counter did not know what I was talking about and had to ask her supervisor (Mrs **). She then asked me to wait at another counter (**) for the Supervisor to assist me. I waited for about 15 minutes, until the Supervisor, Mrs **, finally opened the Counter ** (half way, so that I had to lower my head to talk to her) and explained to me, that she did not know what I needed. I explained several times to her about the claim and presentation of the parcel to USPS and she declined, asked me to call the 1-800 number for such claims. Or to go to 34th Street New York USPS as they had a claims office there.

I stayed in lobby and called 1-800-222-1811. The very professional lady (Joice) on the other line explained to me in a rather very long call, over 30 minutes, that the USPS office need to file a PS form #2856 and if they don't know, to look it up in the International Mail Manual IMM 921-53. She tried to call the USPS Office where I was at to advise them, but nobody answered the phone. So I stood back in line, another 15 minutes, waiting for the Supervisor to show up again at the same counter. As she didn't show up I stood in line again and went to next available counter. She then was called from the back office and yelled over two windows to the counter I was at, that I was ridiculous and that she had told me what to do. She literally made me look very stupid and ignored my request completely. Little by little she informed me that the clerk who was responsible for doing claims had left an hour ago and that he would be back next Tuesday.

She did not know anything about a form PS2856 and she yelled at me to not be so ridiculous and that she had given me all information needed. The clerk at the counter I was standing had her window half closed too so that I had to talk to both of them though a grate. Neither of them accepted my information that I had received in the call that they were to issue me that PS 2856 form for me to get further action required by USPS claims. At least to accept the presentation of the damaged parcel, that I had with me all the time.

I then was stunned and totally exhausted being yelled at and neglected, that I left the USPS office after 1.5 hours. At least the Woman at the 1-800 line had told me that I could send photos to an address she provided me with, but that that form was needed for further action by accounting. So here I am, stunned at the worst service I have ever had in a postal office and at the neglect and ignorance of even the supervisor, who just did not know how to do her job. And most of all, she did not care at all and was totally indifferent, besides being utterly unfriendly and non-customer oriented. I am German expatriate living in New York since January 2014 and had to get a bit of knowledge on how to use the USPS system in a couple of months, having been treated as a complete idiot by the clerks most of the time when I did not know which form to fill out and what possibilities I had with USPS. But this experience was so far the worst and most disrespectful I have ever had.

I am very disappointed and very angry and do not know how to get the refund for my damaged good. I will also write a letter to USPS management at 90 Church Street and let them know about my experience! The supervisor's name is Mrs **, and I remember it well, because she did not act as a supervisor at all and her behavior towards me was totally disrespectful and ignorant.

She sent a few other packages along with mine and contacted her local post office in person. They said to wait an additional day. I waited over the weekend. I waited three more days. I sent an email to USPS through the customer service feature. My local post office called back saying it's the sender's fault. Since the post office didn't scan it at all, they are putting the blame on the sender. The day after the sender sent my package, she sent other packages with no problems (I can see from her eBay feedback ratings the day the auction was won and buyer received). If the post office doesn't do their job right, they blame the sender.

I called to talk to a customer service person, I told them that the local post office said they DON'T have to scan packages in the blue mailbox, that's Phoenix's job they said but here it is 32 hours later and not one scan has been done. My customer is upset wanting to know why they can't track the package. How can they take money for tracking and not give you tracking for it? This is a continual issue. I also believe that it happens so much that some of their employees could likely be stealing packages. They should have more accountability. Think of all the money they collect for tracking and yet lazy postal workers don't bother to scan the items sent.

I've had issues with the key and getting access. The previous mail-lady was very considerate, friendly & worked with us until the problem is resolved. If something is too bulky she simply takes a few steps further and sets it at my door. This new fellow just crams mail articles in the mailbox like an idiot. He's already destroyed credit cards and other paper mail. I stopped him today & politely asked him to give me all my mail as I cannot access the mailbox. He was parked just out front, but started his route further down the road. I waited and waited but he completely ignored my plea for help?! It was a simple customer service request.
