I sent out a box from Eagle, Colorado addressed to my home in Yonkers. The box weighed 37 lbs & 14.4 oz. It was insured for $300.00. I received the box weighing 10 lbs. Items were missing from the box and other items were placed inside the box. I have been trying FOR OVER TWO WEEKS to get the proper forms. I have been to the post office, called the help number and got a confirmation for the form and STILL HAVE NOT received the forms. Furthermore, they told me that they would not pay for the loss without receipts. I paid for a service and did not receive the service.

Probably the LAZEIST staff on the planet. Never answers the phone, doesn't want to help to find any packages. I was trying to track a birthday present all of today and most of the people I talked to seemed like they'd just woken up. If this was a real business they'd have gone bust decades ago. Probably has something to do with the fact that they hire complete donkeys to work for them. All we can do is complain and suffer.

I've done a COA numerous times before. But lately I keep getting the error message saying that my card can't be processed due to incorrect address for my card, when it's CORRECT and has not changed! All the hassle for just 1.05 charge. I do it online because doing it by paper takes longer. Now the online process is causing inconvenience. They need to fix this asap!!! Because my card(s) are not the problem!!!

Mailed a package to a customer on 3-23 and the track # never shows any movement which is normal for them. So a week later the customer emails me asking if I have mailed the package. Yes I did. So I call the consumer affair people again, (and they know me now lol) and the lady says she'll look into it. I wait a few days and still nothing. So I call back and get another lady and she was as mad as me. She turned out to be a pitbull.
Next day I finally see movement but it sits at the sort facility for 3 days. She called and said she saw that too. It finally left Texas hopefully it gets to Knoxville at least. So we'll see how long it takes from there. It's been 13 friggin days and customer still doesn't have it in her hand. So where did we let the postal service gain all the control and attitude since it first got started. The commercials all lie and the government needs to take back control or fire everyone and hire people that really care if your mail gets where it's supposed to when they say it's going to.

This post office has fallen into slovenliness and horrible service in the past two years. The personnel are often flippant, shuffle instead of step right along to get the job done, could care less about mess-ups with the mail system in house, will do nothing about complaints, make excuses for bending and folding your pictures to stuff them into your box, lie about placing notices in your box, and finally accuse you of not picking up your mail for 2-3 weeks as an excuse to ruin your mail or return it to sender. In fact, I pick up my mail 3 times per week. Sometimes a package is not delivered at all and sits on a shelf in the back for 3 weeks. Manager's name is **. Worthless. Won't help at all... not even a "sorry, I will let our staff know and try to do better next time."
Of course, there is no one to call as all of the phones are protected, and you can't talk to someone of authority because they are usually at lunch. Staff talks, texts, and play on cell phones when supposed to be waiting on customers. Need I go on? I could write 4 more paragraphs. They wonder why they are losing respect and customers. It appears to me the staff and supervision are not the sharpest tacks on the board but they are getting plenty of tax-payer money and benefits coupled with pensions for doing a job that would get a person fired in a production facility.

I did mail an item on March 4th 2014. A month later no one received the package. So I called to ask why its taking too long. The answer was they don't know and I have insurance on the package so I asked them about the insurance. The answer was they don't know when I will get the insurance or not. They have the worst customer service ever. I just talked to one of the supervisor supposed to be her name is **. She is very very rude.

Grand Haven, MI post office is a JOKE! We are constantly getting other neighbors mail delivered to our home. In addition, we are not getting all of our own mail. Today, I received the mail of 4 different neighbors. We are the first house on the street. Apparently, the mailman didn't feel like delivering the mail to the homes in which they belong, so he just put them in our box for us to deliver. Happens all the time.
There have been bills we've never received, cards, etc. Forget magazines and catalogs, they never come! I have to stay up with all of my bills manually to make sure I pay bills on time. For instance, we never received our State Farm Insurance bills. I knew they were coming due, so I logged in to check them. Yep, one had just expired and two more were due.
I am a tax paying citizen. I should be able to expect better service from the US Postal Service! I know there is nothing I can do about it. My voice will go unheard on this because it is a government entity. Nothing I can do! They can trash my mail, never deliver it, expect me to deliver my neighbors mail, etc. and get away with it. If there was another option to choose from for mail delivery, even if it costs a lot, I would pay to switch. Just RIDICULOUS!

The woman that has been assigned my route in the past to cover my mail man and who is now either covering for him again or was assigned to the route, is not delivering my packages in inclement weather. I should have had a package today but because it was raining, the status states "no safe location to leave package; left note." There is a safe place to leave my packages: right at the front door where she always leaves them when the sun is shining!!! I have complained about this woman before to no avail. They do absolutely nothing! I want this woman off of my route and reprimanded accordingly. Furthermore, I want someone on my route that is competent enough to do the job they were hired to do!

This is about my green card sent by UCSIS, that I have paid $450 for and waited since January 2014. Only because USPS noted "the package was delivered on Aug 6th, 2014", I still have not got my green card. It was approved and the card was supposed to arrive to my home address on Aug 6th, 2014 by priority mail. Last Nov, I went to the post office in person, I called them 2 times, they made it so clear that "the package was delivered, it was not their fault." I had to reapplied my card on Nov 2014, by using an honest reason "My card was issued but never received." By choosing this honest reason, a kind USCIS officer returned my 2nd payment of $450 in Dec 2014. But as last week, March 21st, 2015, a final decision letter sent to me stating I had to reapply the 3rd time with the correct fee.
After 4 months of waiting went nothing. From the previous experience of the 2nd application, this likely kicks me back to the end of the waiting line, another 7 months, and the full fee $450 again. So, this application originally started from Jan 2014, it probably goes to the end of 2015 to result, only because USPS stated "packaged was delivered on Aug 6th, 2014".
I have met the regular mailman in our area, he seemed nice. I don't think he stole my package. But, there is a possibility he delivered my mail to a wrong door, or lost it during transit. Human make mistakes. In early 2014, I have received a package that was sent to one of my neighbors and I had to walk to her door to give it to her. When we lived in a condo complex several years ago, some neighbors and we have lost mails through USPS. One resident doctor did not receive an offer letter from a hospital. He knew it after the hospital called him after a few months. Due to these reason, we started using a UPS mail box in 2011.
In Nov 2014, when I went to our UPS store to send out the 2nd green card application, and told them about my lost mail. Yes, I chose more than double of the mailing fee through UPS, not USPS. The UPS store staff told me that several of their UPS mailbox owners had not received their packages that were supposed to be delivered by USPS to their UPS mail boxes. However, USPS still claimed "package was delivered on *** date". Well, the UPS staff witnessed no packages delivered to their store for those recipients, before the staff could distribute the mails to mail boxes!
In Nov 2014, after I called USPS customer service line and complained, no results. After I filed their $100 insurance included in priority mail, denied. Because, "The package was delivered." Do you trust this statement from USPS? I don't buy facts that I have experienced. However, USCIS take this USPS false statement as a fact.
If USPS do not take any responsibilities of their faults, how do they run their business? How do they train their employees to be responsible? Yes, human make mistakes. But we have to take the consequences after our mistakes. If I lost my home key, I have to pay a locksmith to make a new one. If a mailman lost one mail, it is understandable among so many deliveries and USPS should pay for the consequences. If the same mailman have lost many mails, then he should not be on the job anymore. If many employees are underpaid or under trained and make lots of mistakes, how could this business last?
Our family have been using UPS mail box almost 4 years, even now we live a relatively safe and nice area that has little chance neighbors steal mails. for my first green card application, I wanted to use my UPS mail box as the mailing address (so at least one more person, the UPS staff could witness a lost mail), but the USCIS online application form in Jan 2014 did not allow to fill in "Apt/Ste/Flr" number as UPS mailbox number system such as "Ste 123, box 456". So I chose home address as the mailing address, and an important piece of mail was lost. Isn't this ironic? I could not even trust using my home address as mailing address? This week, when I applied online for my card the 3rd time, USCIS online form could accept my typing for the UPS mail box numbers (I had to type like Ste123-456), but still noted something like "could not recognize the address".
This is the first time I am at this website to complain about USPS. My "package has been delivered on Aug 6th, 2014"? No! Written on April 3rd, 2015.

I used to believe we needed a US Post Office, but now I wonder if the average postal worker who makes much more than the average American is smart enough to handle the job. I mailed a first class package from Cleveland, OHIO to Bowling Green, OHIO (approx. 90 miles away). It was mailed on Friday and supposed to arrive by Monday. Tracking shows mail traveling four days going from one Cleveland location to another and back to the original location. It is Thursday and the mail is now in Michigan. There is absolutely no reason for my package to be in another state. I hate to use the words 'idiot' and 'stupid' to describe people, but this is just absolute incompetence and maybe we should consider letting the private sector now handle US mail.

My husband went online and paid 9.99 for an address change, this was on Feb 22nd 2015. Since then we have spoken to them three times. On March 23rd at 12:06 pm, which was the second time we made a call to the 800#, my husband spoke to the lady which apologized, and said she didn't know what happened, and that she was going to have to report it to Consumer Affairs, that we were going to be contacted within 48 hours, STILL WAITING.
Next day we received a call from the post office, and the lady informed us that we weren't necessarily going to be getting junk mail, soooooo quite possibly we were mistaken. My husband told her that we knew for a fact that we weren't getting nothing, that the other tenants before us were still receiving mail. We are waiting for our deposits that were sent to us from "TEXAS" Mar 16th, per our previous landlord. We think it's ** that we have the same post office on Vegas Valley Dr., we didn't have to be zoned for a different location, and yet they don't know how to fix this. We paid for what, a headache? Have been into the P.O. about 10 times now asking THEM to see if they can trace the package down. I moved into a new apartment in December 30th 2014 and I forwarded my new address immediately, and got a welcome mail (saying that I'm receiving my green card within 60 days) from USCIS in early January which the post office forwarded. I know I should have reported a new address to USCIS but I lost my recent receipt number so I couldn't do that. But it seemed like that post office could forward the immigration mail because I received their welcome mail through post office. So I waited until March for the mail and I never got my green card.
First, I called USCIS office to find out what's going on and they gave me the tracking number so I tracked it. It said it was delivered to my old address on January 21st. So then I called post office customer service and they said they didn't forward the immigration mail (then how was the previous mail from USCIS forwarded?). The representative of post office told me that they cannot forward any immigration mail and that they have to send it back, therefore the mail shouldn't have been sent to my old address. I called USCIS and they said they never received anything from post office, they said if post office sent it then they would've had tracking number with it.
I called post office customer service again, and they gave me other numbers to help me out. I called facilities of post office and they don't know if they sent my green card back or if it was mailed to my old address. And I called consumer affairs, they never answered, so I left voice mail twice, still never got a call back. Now no one knows where my green card is and I'm gonna have to pay $450 for renewing my green card which I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED.

First incident occurred on March 28, 2015 when a package was to be delivered. Package was not delivered and I waited until Monday to check again. When it was tracked through USPS, it had "delivery status not updated." On Wednesday, went to the Post Office and was informed that the carrier brought the package back and did not scan nor leave a note informing me that it was returned to the Post Office. This was unexplainable as the mailbox is big enough to put in huge boxes let alone a package less than 2 oz.
Second occurrence April 1st, Priority Mail 2-day item scanned this time as "delivered but no package." I have on this date filed a complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service department as this has become a situation that needs to be handled. When it comes to a point that you can no longer trust your postal service it is a problem. I have never had any difficulties like this before and in the scope of less than a week, two situations. I will go to their office again in the morning and I pray that I can remain calm.

I sent an expensive package via 2-day shipping, and now a whooping 4 weeks later, it's still sitting in the tracker like it never left Macon to go to it's destination. Of course I called USPS (not local office) and the reps were fairly decent. There was just one rep I spoke to who sounded like she needed to go back to bed (or was still in bed). The only thing I accomplished with calling was getting the excuse that the package was delayed due to weather conditions since they did not want to admit the package was lost. So I decided to file a claim on the package that was clearly lost. The first claim I filed was denied and my appeal got accepted. I then decided to do some more investigation just to see if I could find out how much USPS decided to give me back, and of course, they are paying me for less than half of what the package is worth. Also, they did not include the shipping fees I paid like I was told they would.
This is not the first time USPS has lost an expensive package I've sent. Hence, I would never be foolish enough to mail any of my packages through USPS ever again. My local USPS office is deplorable when it comes to solving issues like this which is another story in itself. If given the chance, I will warn people about this service and steer them in the right direction, which is AWAY from USPS postal services. Please avoid sending packages through them like the plague.

I had tried to work out a solution with USPS through my office USPS service contact, even offer to move my mailbox. After some communication, the same USPS Delivery told me not to worry about it and our track is the ONLY track he gets to drive. The other route, he had to walk. Recently, I got home early and saw the USPS. I waited for USPS because it was trash day and I figure I would walk up to the truck so he doesn't need to get out. Instead, he threaten me. The package contains personal info. which is why I am sure my package has been "lost" by the driver. Obviously USPS does not have trustworthy employees anymore. I am not the only review that has dealt with a "lost" package.
But good news.... the USPS does not have to find your package, they do not have to tell you why they "lost" the package, and they apparently are not responsible for your package. The customer service # cannot assist. My first call to them, they opened a case, was promised a call from a supervisor w/in 3 days. Well 5 days later no call, so I call customer service back. My case was reopened, and I was given a # for consumer affairs (another useless avenue). Prior to my call back after 5 days, I contact the Dulles USPS and was told they do not know where my package is. Regardless of tracking #. The USPS just likes to waste paper and trees printing labels, boxes, receipts, etc. Just find my package and DELIVER IT, that is your job. With all of my personal info still in the not opened package.

I can't get in touch with anyone. No one will answer the or will help me. I can't pay my bills now. USPS has terrible customer service. They take out things and then won't answer the phone. I am writing this complaint against consumer affairs. When it came to me contacting them in regards to my lost package from the USPS, consumer affairs was useless. The woman I spoke to, who would not review her name, was rude and not helpful. When I spoke to USPS customer service I was given the # to consumer affairs. I contacted the number and the lady answered the phone, "Yes?" Are you serious? I asked her, "Is this consumer affairs?" "Yes." No 'How can I help you,' etc. I told her what was going on, gave her my case #. She proceeded to tell me that I was in the wrong district. She did not have the # to the correct district. That most companies to not scan items and let the USPS know that the package was delivered. That I was worrying over nothing. And that I will have to contact the local USPS where the package was delivered last.
I informed her that I wish she could give me to correct #. That I sent the package certified. That I have verified w/ the company they have not received the package. The package contained person info. And finally, I have contacted the local post master and the delivery supervisor, prior to her suggestion. I also did not receive an explanation to why the USPS supervisor w/ my case # did not contact me back. And I would like for someone, somewhere to tell me where my package is, or better yet DELIVER IT. FYI... my tracking scan has said since March 8 that the package departure scan was @ 4pm, that it was delayed and would not be delivered on time. NO ONE can tell me why my package was delayed. NO ONE can tell me where my package is. Bottom line, Consumer Affairs and this website is useless. I just wanted to complain to the people that won't do anything about it.

I was one of those sympathetic to the cutbacks suffered by the Post Office. I was sentimental about them one day being privatized. But the truth is, they just can't keep up with the demands and have now resorted to lying about it. My package was supposed to be delivered today to a major hotel in Downtown DC. When I checked my tracking online, it stated that delivery was attempted, but that the business was closed at 8:02 am!!!
Now really, which hotel is closed at 8:02 am at the height of the morning's activities? Their pathetic attempt to lie their way out of their inability to get the package delivered is almost laughable, if it wasn't so frustrating. I called, but of course you only get a computer that repeats the same garbage you saw online. Come on, Post Office. Shape up because there are many quite anxious to ship you out!

When you read all the complaints what else can it been. I'm really losing trust in my postman.
Last time my package was allegedly left on my porch. I left work rarely that day. Tracked it in route. Mailman was just down the street. I pulled up on him he act like he didn't know what I was talking about so I came up the street to my house - package was not there. Had just talk to the mailman then when I called and complained that's when he said he left it on the porch so why did he lie to me. Then now here we go again this dude done lost my package less than 2 hours after leaving the slip in my mailboxes. I'm really starting to wonder now how can the government have such a failing system. I'm very upset.

This had a prepaid label and I began to try to track the package and could never get anything on it so I called the local post office and was told by the manager there that the postal worker was not scanning to mail until it got back to the office because it was a busy route. This is why mail can be lost without a trace.

On 3/26/2015 I was due a delivery that was a 2 day priority. It was service equipment for my practice. This was to be delivered to my husband's spa to which I frequent and I have important packages and mail sent. On 3/26/15 I arrived at the spa approximately at 4:40pm. My husband and one other person were in the spa. He was in his office which is located right in front and the other person there was someone waiting for others to set up for a non profit event, to which we sponsor in front of the spa. I sat in our lobby with her until 5:07pm. In the meantime everyone had arrived and was setting up their tent in front of the spa and next to the front door. When I left the lobby I went into my office that I have there, noticed the time and got to wondering about my package. Checked the tracking again and no new news so I decided to call the call center. Had to leave a message for a call back due to a high volume of calls.
I re-entered the lobby and was talking to the event coordinator. While speaking to the event coordinator the phone call from the call center happened. I went into my office to take the call. The call center employee informed me that there was an entry that she saw stating that there was an attempt for delivery and a slip left because "an authorized recipient was not available". As soon as the employee stated this to me I told her that that couldn't be because at that time there were 6 people in the lobby and/or outside the door and no postal employee came in and no slip of attempt of delivery was left. She completed a complaint for me to send to the post office to which is up the street from us. She stated that they were required to contact me regarding this matter within 48 to 72 hours.
Once off the phone I took a chance in contacting the location. My call went to voice mail, but I couldn't leave a message. Today, 3/27/15 I went to my tracking and noticed that there wasn't anything regarding a re-delivery so I requested a re-delivery for tomorrow 3/28/15. I also attempted all morning to contact the location but all I got was their voice mail box that was full each and every time. About 4pm today the postal carrier that has been servicing the area for year (younger girl) came in to deliver the box. My husband was in the lobby behind the reception desk and I noticed her as I was walking up the hallway to leave. She saw me walking up the hallway and when she did see me she had a stance of someone that was defensive.
When I approached the lobby I went behind the reception desk to get the scissors to assist me to open the package and I requested that she stay so I can see if there was any damage in the box. She got real nervous and even ruder and stated that she wasn't permitted to stay and witness that. She then stated that I couldn't touch the box until I signed for it (which is a lie because it's happened before) and practically shoved the slip for me to sign towards me. I took it and all the while tried to get answers from her on what happened the day before. I signed the paper, put the paper and pen on the table for her to collect and when I kept asking questions, all of a sudden she starting screaming that she was going to call the cops. She then proceeded to leave and as she was walking out the door, she said again in a loud voice that she was going to call the cops.
Each time my husband and I were looking at each other like "What the heck". She admitted to us that she was the one that attempted to deliver the box, but then turned around and said that she didn't actually have the box with her because it was too big and too heavy to get into her SUV (weird because she brought to me today by herself) but she left the slip and was going to come back later. Somehow this has to be some type of mail tampering or something. Anyway she leaves and a little while later her manager called from the post office location to get my side of the story because she stated to them there that I put my hands on her so there is going to be an investigation because it's against the law to touch a federal employee. Oh please, she was called out, she is covering her tracks and lying about this too. She is a good 25 years younger than me and she is rude and obnoxious.
Just thought that I would let y'all know that you better be careful if you place a complaint of this sort the carrier will turn it on you. Oh and I dislike lying.

On Thursday, March 26th, 2015 I encountered the worse customer service in history. I entered the post office about 8:00 am on Thursday morning with the attempt to retrieve my mail. My mailbox had been broken into several times over the past few years. However, the mail carrier was aware of this and continued to put my mail in the box. I was not the only customer on my street that has had this problem. Over the past couple months there has been different mail carriers delivering my mail and placing holds on it. I again got my mailbox fixed and it was broken into 2x after that. I went to the main post office that receives my mail several times and explained the problem and considered getting a P.O. box but in turn found out that many of the businesses sending mail requires a residential address and not a P.O. box.
Monday, March 23rd when I seen the mail carrier I sent my daughter to get my mail because she didn't place it in my box. She explained to my daughter that I needed to get my mail box fixed. However, Wednesday the same mail carrier on route 2 delivered 1 piece of mail in my box. I thought it was a discrepancy so I approached her to ask if that was the only mail I had. The mail carrier said "yes" but I will receive my advertisements on Thursday, March 26th. So on this morning I stood in line at the main post office, until they opened to retrieve my mail. The staff said I have no mail for pick up and the carriers would be leaving to deliver mail.
I then asked to speak to a manager. Once the first manager came I explained to him that the mail carrier is indecisive in delivering my mail and that some days she did and other days she did not deliver my mail. I then asked if he could retrieve the mail going out because my box is broke and the mail carrier said she wasn't going to deliver to my address with a broken box. He refused and his explanation was that if he did it for me he would have to do it for all and it would take 15-20 min of overtime that he couldn't give to his carriers in order to get my mail. I then stated to him in tears that I had something very important in that mail that I could not risk losing.
As I'm explaining this in tears and disappointment another manager comes ** and says, " Let me handle this! " She then took me to the other side. I explained what was going on and she said that there's nothing she can do. I then explained that protocol on a broken mailbox was to be picked up at local USPS and that I had been notifying the office of my mailbox problems. I also went on to explain that it is unfair for me to have to chase my mail down if the mail carrier has put a hold on my mail. Within this conversation the mail carrier for my route came to where the manager and I was speaking and she said she was putting my mail in the box but in the same sentence explained that my daughter and I chase her down for my mail. I then clarified with the manager that the carrier contradicted herself by saying she was leaving my mail in the box but we chase her down to get our mail.
The manager took no acknowledgement to the statement and said there's nothing she can do but she will try and track my mail and call me. During the entire conversation management took defense to all my statements and lacked professionalism and customer satisfaction. I then asked for the number for corporate and names of employees and she refused to give me any of that information and had to ask around for the number to corporate. The number she gave me did not allow prompts for customer service so I went in and asked another lady who then gave me the number to consumer affairs.
I finally after a hour wait reached someone in Consumer Affairs. She contacted ** and returned to the phone to tell me that ** said I had no mail. I explained to the representative that the mail carrier told me I had ads coming today so it's not possible for me not to have 1 piece of mail. The Consumer Affairs rep. asked if I had a tracking number. I told her not at the time but I could get the tracking number. When I called the company who was responsible for the particular mail they said they didn't have a tracking # and to contact my local post office to track it.
I then went back to the post office in attempt to get a tracking number and I was told they couldn't track regular mail. At this time I was waiting for ** to ask her for an update on my mail. ** came to the counter and said, "We don't have any mail for you!" in a rude, angry tone. I then asked why didn't she call me as stated and she said real closely to my face, "You're not going to ** chastise me over your mail," and went on! I then got angry and said, "So you're going to curse at me in a sneaky manner and talk to me like that." I then was angered and called her a sneaky ** and went back and forth. She then had just about 3-4 staff escorting me out with force touching me and using body weight against me to shove me out.
She then yelled in front of all the employees that I won't be receiving my mail. I then explained she was illegally withholding government mail from me and she told me I was no longer able to enter the postal services without consequences. This is a pitiful excuse for the actions of humans who have minimal authority and maximizes it on the inferior.
This was a issue that could have been handled reasonably if professionalism and with customer satisfaction. However, it was taken personal on the behalf of your staff which then became a domino effect and caused me to deter from the person with great character that I'm known to maintain with high standards. I'm a teacher and part-time nurse and no matter how difficult a person was, I always maintained exceptional professional skills in difficult situations. There is no excuse for the behavior and consequences should be taken in full effect. These are actions for a reprimand. The staff who touched me should not get away with these actions. I would like to be notified by someone who is willing to resolve this manner as soon as possible. Sincerely...

I mailed a package from Maryland to Los Angeles via Priority Mail - cost $56 - 2-Day delivery was the "estimate". The package showed up 9 days later after a 5 day detour to Anchorage, Alaska. (Why?) The USPS website tracking updates were pathetic so I could not find out where the package was most of the time. I even wasted my time going to the Post Office for a refund because the fact that Priority Mail delivery is not guaranteed is hidden in the fine print and the USPS does not allow you to claim a refund online. (They are very happy to let you spend your money with them online but for a refund you have to come in person.)
The employee that I dealt with at the Local Post Office was all too happy to tell me I was not entitled to a refund and made absolutely no attempt to apologize for the ridiculously bad service, apparently not an occurrence rare enough to even warrant a comment. This is why the US Postal Service needs to be put out of its misery: No quality, no accountability, too many bad employees they can't fire, a prime example of an out-of-control government bureaucracy.

First off, I've called quite a lot of time to customer service and my local post office (which never pick up the call) have NEVER been supportive to my case. They have been telling me to go there, call this, and even tell me that they will call me back for further assistance. I had an argument with this courier that came into my shop stating that "It was the seller's fault that there wasn't anything on the package". I was very skeptical to that comment because there were TWO packages that was delivered from TWO different sellers that was coming in at the same day and yet even if I do argue back he would be ranting about he is right and I'm wrong.
I filed a case and talked to someone who works at my local post office and told me she would call me back in three days. After a couple of days I tried calling back and no one picks up the phone or denies my call since there was an intercepted call when I was calling. Last week to the day, I received tracking info that my package was delivered. It wasn't. This was a purchase from Ebay. Called the local post office about it and of course I got the "I could care less attitude." Postman insists he left it here. 30 seconds after he delivered my mail, I went out to get the mail and the package was not there. Now, one week later to the day..same thing! This package contained collector coins.
Ebay makes it a policy to write their name on the mailing label, so everyone is aware that it is a purchase from them, adding to the likelihood someone will grab it. Last week, I had a substitute postman who had never served this route before. But, today my regular postman was on. He handed me my mail at about 3 P.M. However, when I went to track it, it said it was delivered at 1:32 P.M. so It looks like it was left somewhere else about an hour and a half before the postman reached my house. I have a very friendly postman and I am sure that he would not steal a package. I am sure that it was delivered somewhere else by mistake.
Now, if that's the case, knowing there are many dishonest people in our country, they look and see Ebay on the label and Coin club on the return address, and they know it contains money. Ebay refunded my money last week when this happened. If I go and tell them only one week later they are probably thinking I am lying. This purchase was much more valuable than the one that I never received last week (Two old silver collector coins).
No one at USPS cares and many let you know that when you speak to them at the post office. No one checks the situation out, etc. I called last week and I knew that the boss had answered. He told me call back in the morning and talk to his boss. When I did, the lady said that he lied, that he was her boss! She was just a regular employee there. These guys make good money and feel very, very secure in their job knowing it is almost impossible to lose their job with the Union they have. Does anyone care anymore??

I had sold an item online through PayPal and sent the Item insured via USPS 1/29/2015. After noticing several days later the tracking said last stop was Jacksonville and the package was sent to a recovery center and had been there a few days, I was concerned. I went to the local USPS that I originally shipped from and after a guy making a call he told me that the shipping label "had been ripped off" somehow. I said ok.
Well here's the issue I have. The person I sold this item to wanted to be refunded and was by PayPal. So now I lost a sale because USPS and they also lost the item that I not only paid them to deliver it but had paid for insurance on it. So the man gives me the information and I send the forms with the Paypal sale info (what the item was, buyer info, sale + shipping price, etc.) and the buyer info as well as the refund info. from PayPal. All dates, sale price, refund, etc.. coincide with dates. Well, some several weeks to a month or so later I just received a letter saying that I need to send proof like an original receipt within 30 days or they deny my claim?!?!
Ok, here's the problem with that: I sent them proof of the PayPal receipt of original transaction and refund with dates. I purchased insurance. They lost my item in their possession and tracking proves it. So I paid them to carry out a service they not only failed to do but they lost my property and even with insurance and me sending all requested information they are acting as if I didn't do enough?!?! At this point my perception is that the burden of proof lies solely with the USPS as I have paid for all necessary services and jumped through all the hoops (as far as information requests). This letter however is clearly stating they want other proof.
I truly feel robbed. I would love to know if there a class action lawsuit as I see this type of thing happens far too much. Is it not clear-cut when I went out of my way and sent the info after they (with Proof) lost my item and did not carry out the service I paid them for? Oh, and WITH insurance?! Not to mention priority mail automatically is said to be insured up to $100.00. I DO NOT PLAN TO LAY DOWN ON THIS. It's now about proving my point as much as getting what is due to me.

On or about Jan. 22, 2015 my son mailed a priority mail, flat rate envelope from Hudson Falls NY to Mohave Valley, AZ. This is my winter residence. The tracking number says arrived in Bullhead, AZ.. two days later and never re-scanned after. In the envelope was much of my tax documents to prepare my taxes for IRS and state. The post office says that a sub was on route that day. So did the sub steal my mail or did they place it in a wrong mailbox which got in to the wrong hands?
To make a miserable story short, my identity was stolen, someone filed my IRS tax return to the amount of over 3 thousand dollars. This imposter sent up a red flag to the IRS and they did not pay them!! Thank god. However, do I have any recourse with the USPS in Bullhead? I received a check from them for 55.75 which is the normal insurance plus the 5.75 postage. Bullhead P.O. tells me that's all I can file for. There is no value in documents!! But what they have put me through is worth a lot more than 55.75. Any help would be appreciated. Also, to this day, when I check the tracking number, LOL, it says, "out for delivery."

My major supplier, BoatZincs.com, in Acton, MA ships me 20 lb Priority Mail packages every few weeks on an "as needed" basis. They are the best customer service firm I have ever done business with, but USPS consistently delivers these orders late or loses them for days. We get no compensation for these $100+ valued orders and not getting them on time screws up my customer service while USPS simply ignores the problem, denies or lies about it, usually just showing the package "in transit" for days and not knowing where it actually is. The so-called tracking system covers up the true path so that it's not possible to tell exactly where the package went or for how long...
A nice deal for the Postal Workers Union who pretend they are providing a real service at crazy rates. Why shouldn't USPS pay a penalty when they fail to do what they promised? Who pays for my loss and the business lost because of it? No other business gets away with this. Fail to deliver as promised, they should pay for it.

On February 19, 2015 I dropped a package off at the United States Postal Service in Linden New Jersey. I also paid the additional money to have my package signed for once it reached the destination. The package was to be delivered to the Social Security Administration in Union New Jersey. On Tuesday March 17, 2015, I attempted to track my package, with much surprise it had not been delivered to its destination. I called customer service and spoke with a representative by the name of ** and advised him of my concerns, he issued a case number **. He advised me that I would be receiving a phone call within a day or 2. I never received that call.
So I called back on Thursday March 19, 2015 and spoke with another representative, this time by the name of **. I also advised him of my concerns, which are I sent a package with information sensitive documents (my son's birth certificate, my son's medical insurance card, court documents that proved legal name change that had both mine and his social security numbers, as well as an application requesting new social security card with mine and his social security number) to the social security administration office located at 855 Lehigh Ave, Union NJ 07083. While speaking with ** he advised me that there hasn't been any change to the status of the delivery of my package and that I need to consider it as a lost package. I cannot take that as an answer.
I then spoke with the team lead by the name of ** and she told me that I need to go to the post office and submit a mail recovery center request. I was given a new case number ** and was told that I should receive a call within 1-2 days. I have already experienced what it feels to have someone use my social without my permission, I do not need that to happen again to myself or my young child. I should not have to be told that I am out of luck and it is considered as a lost package. As a customer, human and a parent that statement and/or conclusion does not work for me. I should not be punished because someone at the postal service did not do their job effectively and efficiently. I am disgusted and highly disappointed. Those were all original documents that I need back. Please help me.

No need to read another incident of what happened with my situation but read on for my advice if you decide to use USPS for delivering packages. When sending packages, especially value over $10, be sure to add tracking. Anything more than $50, add signature confirmation. If it's fragile, you definitely need to buy insurance. They do NOT handle packages with care. When you send books, media, or paper, utilize the "book rate." They're also called the Media Mail. It's slow but it's much cheaper. NEVER send gift cards without tracking. It will get lost. Happened to me twice. Depending on the mail carrier, some will not pick up mail if you leave it by your mailbox (which mine happen to have an outgoing slot). Sigh.

On March 14, 2015 at 11:19 a.m. I walked into my CT post office and after conferring with the clerk at the counter, I decided to send my auto loan payoff check to my creditor via Priority Mail today. I asked the clerk if this check would get to Arlington, TX by March 19, 2015. She told me “yes it should definitely.” (Or words to that effect.) I was told I could track this very important piece of mail via the web. I didn’t see any updates to the tracking number, so I called the Postal Service since there is NO update on the tracking of this letter.
I called your support number during NORMAL business hours, only to find that a message comes across that states, “customer service is not available at this time.” Really? So, I called again and after navigating through your voice tree, by continually pressing the 0 key, I finally get a hold of someone. I opened a case and was told that the manager in Arlington, TX Post Office would call me in 48 hrs.
Now, I have to state that the contents of the letter were TIME sensitive and the check that I am sending is over $10,000 to pay off my car loan, and since I had up to the 19th of March 2015 to get the check to the final destination, I took the word of a POST OFFICE employee that the check would be delivered to the receiver by the 19th. I TOOK THEIR WORD.
SO, I researched the Post Office location myself for Arlington I CANNOT WAIT for two days. As it stands I am now going to have to pay further interest on my car note. The manager in the Arlington Post Office told me, it isn’t lost, we just have to wait for it to get here. The one thing I want to know is WHERE IS THIS CHECK? Here it is, March 20, 2015. After being lied to, given the run around and lack of concern for ME the CUSTOMER, there is STILL NO RESOLUTION.
My frustration level is through the roof. Where is the concern? Where is the service? WHERE IS THE LETTER I SENT? Their tracking system is poor. Their customer service is poor. Their prioritization is poor. What good is priority mail I ask you? I WAS their customer. A VALUED one at that. Next time I will use FEDEX.

Tracking number ** mailed 12-20-14. I sent a Christmas package to my sister in Mission Viejo. I had been tracking but in January, she still didn’t receive. I called and spoke to Supervisor ** at the post office in Mission Viejo. His exact comment was, “It was found and is being delivered today.” I then spoke to my sister a few days later and still no package.
I called again and they said they couldn't find it. I was also told that she does have a forwarding address in and they are not sure what happen to package. When I was down there visiting, I was able to talk to her carrier, (who also delivered to her old address, which was (literally) around the corner from her new address). He said he would look into it. I have called post office along with many emails (which they only responded to first one), trying to find package.
At one time it said it had gone out for delivery 3-3-15, but I was down there then and when I spoke to carrier, he did not say anything about that. Eventually, after many attempts, I saw that it had been sent back to me. I feel that I should be reimbursed for postage.
Post office has said that my claim is being denied because I had 60 days to submit, but this should not apply to me, as USPS was the one who couldn’t find package, it has been sitting in the warehouse for at least 2 months. Please investigate and let me know. Also I have an email from Mission Viejo center stating that they found package and that the person was going to call Mission Viejo and remind them that there is a forwarding address in system.

Another package came with the wrong zip code. I sent it back and they delivered it again the next day. I sent it back again and they delivered it again the very next day. He had the mailman's notice but because he has no ID in the state of Florida, they would not give it to him. The next day he went to the post office with a bill to his address, they claimed they didn't know where the package was because he called it an envelope. Each time the employees were rude to him. So, I filed a complaint and a claimed. Spoke with an investigator who found the package and told me to send my son back to the post office to ask for Ms. ** . He did, she still refused to give him the package because he didn't have ID with the address he lives in.
Yet, this is an underage student. Why would he have ID in Florida? This is not his permanent address. At the same time, the return address was his home address in which he had ID for. I called her personally, she gave me an excuse dealing with 9/11. What does has to do with my package getting to my son? After all of that, she wanted me to fax her info stating he lives there. I refuse. Then she wanted me to send my son back to the post office fourth time. I would not. I ask her to send my package back to me since it's a problem for her. I have yet to see my package.
What makes this worse, I had to rebuy the article containing in the package and send it Fedex. He got it the next day. I still have a 143.00 item still floating in the mail system that I had to buy twice because some woman wanted to play God with the mail. I will not ever send anything thru the USPS again. I told the postal service here where I lived, they all felt she was wrong and could have done a better job in helping my son. I'm not against all postal service just Winter Park.

On Mar. 11, the mail was sent back to me with a yellow strip on the envelope: "Insufficient Address Unable to forward Return to Sender". I had a hard time to get the hold of any one at customer service department at the Central Square Post Office in Cambridge, who did the delivery. I finally was able to talk to a guy there who blamed the concierge desk of the building not holding the mail after providing a signature for the mail. The person "believe" the mail was placed in the addressee's mail box.
On Mar. 3, I had to open a case with US Post Office to get to the bottom of the issue. A lady at Boston Post Office Consumer Affairs contacted me and identified herself as ** saying that she will help me with the issue. The Central Square Post Office then also called me confirming that the carrier on Feb. 23 threw the certified mail in a bag of outgoing mails instead of placing the mail in my daughter's mail box, but could not tell where the mail went. On Mar. 6, the Central Square Post Office notified me that they found the mail in Tewksbury, MA. I asked if they can make an attempt to re-deliver, the answer is "No".
On Mar. 10, the same lady at the Boston Office Consumer Affairs called me notifying that the mail is on its way back to me, the sender. She asked me to call her back providing the reasoning of return shown on the envelop so that she can fix the issue going forward. On Mar. 11, I received the certified mail and called the Boston Office Consumer Affairs, the lady denied she ever worked on this case. I said I call you using your caller ID on my phone. She said she does not remember talking to me. All of a sudden, I understand that the Central Squre Post Office and the Boston Post Office Consumer Affairs are working together tocover up the whole mess. Throughout the investigation, the Central Square Post Office is indifferent, passive, irresponsive, clueless, irresponsible, chaotic, and unapologetic. USPS has no accountability and the employees charged with helping resolve issues really just do not care. I made the mistake of using priority express which the carrier misdelivered and didn't even bother to check the signature. However, I am convinced that USPS employees are aware that they will not be held accountable for failing to deliver important packages. I was told that a Priority Express package being lost was considered a big deal, yet the Domestic Research department treated my like dirt and my insurance claim was denied because the package was "delivered" albeit to the wrong address. So, I am told I have to take it up with the local consumer affairs office which has consistently redirected me back to other USPS departments, and does not seem to want to deal with my issue.
Do not trust them with an important package and never use Priority Express because thieves in or outside of USPS will know it is valuable and know if they steal it no one will ever be able to hold them accountable for their mistake. I shipped out a package with the correct address which was suppose to be sent to Canada. The clerk from my local post office, who was not attentive and very much distracted, printed out a label for my package to be sent to Brazil. This was sent out 2/25/2015, approximately a month later and USPS has not resolved this issue. I was suppose to receive a call twice from an investigator in the international department and I never did. Everyone seems to be inconsiderate and unwilling to help with this matter. I am completely dissatisfied with the service and most likely will never ship another item again.

I had taken a package to be mailed in March 14, 2015 to an international destination. The package was worth $900.00. The person at the post office was nice and said, "Oh you should insure this." So for a few more dollars I said sure. I got a call from PayPal saying the buyer was a scam artist and funds were fraudulent. I immediately called the USPS to stop delivery. To my shock the reply was and I quote, "Oh sir, I'm sorry, we don't intercept international packages. You just lost your item, sorry." I was in total amazement that the USPS would take my money for shipping the item and get me to insure it and then turn around and not be able to stop delivery? How does this make sense.
To me I was robbed by both the buyer of the product and the USPS. People please use another form of mailing your products international or even domestic. FedEx, DHL, and other delivery services can and will stop a delivery and you could get your item back. I'm not wanting to bad talk the USPS but the local government does not give a crap about your well being, all they are in the game for is your Money. Sadly I will not use the USPS again for any shipments. The struggle is real people and the thieves are real.

The post office claims that they delivered my item at 8:25pm, I was home and didn't get any package... There are cameras in my lobby and elevator and I want someone to look into this, because I never had a problem with this mailman but I can not believe that he saying he delivered it to my home when he clearly didn't.

After researching online, talking to my carrier and visiting my local post Office (Morgan Park) I signed up online for Premium Forwarding Service beginning March 2. When we had not received any mail by 3/11, I contacted the 800 USPS. After a 48 minutes on hold I was quickly transferred to Technical support, who told me I should contact my local post office. I reached **, a supervisor. She promised to talk to my carrier and call me back. When I didn't get a return call, I called her on 3/12 but she was absent. I left my concern and my contact information with **.
No return call was received, so I called again on 3/13. ** told me that the carrier didn't understand the paperwork, so she had been sending my mail to the forwarding center because she thought we had moved. ** said the carrier received corrective action for this. I was told that my mail would go to the forwarding center and since there was no permanent forwarding address on file, it would be returned to that Post office, no estimate of how long that would take.
I asked a family member to check my home and found that some mail had been delivered to my home. On 3/15 I went online and cancelled all PFs services and placed a hold mail from 3/16 -3/31. Then I called ** to make sure this was in effect. I requested a refund and was told I had to call the 800 number. Since I had placed the original order online. After waiting on hold for 54 minutes, ** created a case number**, but said I had to request my refund from my local Post Office. I called the Consumer Affairs office and have now waited on hold for 1 hour and 53 minutes with repeated messages to hold on, but no one answered. Please help me obtain my refund and educate your employees to avoid these ridiculous mistakes.

This has been going on for years. I have filed a complaint with the USPS inspectors office and it vanished in thin air. Problem was and still is, my mail goes to other addresses not even close to me. I, by chance, had a paycheck delivered to someone I know that lived across town and they called me. Talk about a small world, one of my credit cards was delivered to a stranger and they charged it up to the limit. Today I received a bank statement and a utility bill addressed to two different address several miles from me. What is going on? I get the next door neighbor's mail on a regular basis. I am so hopeful that UPS starts taking up mail delivery for everyday mail, at least you can count on them.

At the post office I return all package items and was told they would take care of it. 3 months later nothing was filed and package is lost! Luckily I write everything down so I wrote all who I came in contact with and had all their names, date and time. Now I insured the item for $500. I just received notice telling me to submit proof of cost of the items I sent. Why would I have to show proof of what I sent? I showed them pictures of what was sent with the receipt package and item all in one photo. Now they want what I paid for. I purchased that chain in 2001 for $120 and sold it for $300 and insured the package for $600. What does that have to do with anything??

At 6 pm our mail hadn't yet been delivered. At 8 pm I received the notice and we had finally had mail delivered - but no one bothered to check for the packages that are sitting in the exact same spot they're always at. I live in Templeton California. Templeton is located between San Luis Obispo and Paso Robes. The taxes payer/public, know the Post Service is really trying to revamp their image and Customer Service. What a joke!
On March 5th, my husband was home and notice out in front of our house a generic truck with the logo USPS. The gentlemen/driver had a parcel/postal box and was looking around where to place it. ** went out to see what was going on. The gentlemen told my husband that he was instructed to install this Large Parcel box in front of our home..My Husband said absolutely not. When I came home from doing errands, he told me what had happen. I went to the Post Office to talk to the Post Master. (Please understand Templeton is a small community.) When I got up to the dark haired clerk, I asked to speak to the Post Master. I was told she was on the phone. I stated I would wait. The Clerk then told me she would be going to lunch after the call, and would not come out to talk to me.
Taken back by this extremely rude postal clerk, not very happy about this, I wrote down my phone number and name and asked to have the Post master call me when she got back from lunch! I also stated to the clerk that I was leaving the next day to fly for two weeks and upon returning from flying, if the parcel box was installed, in front of our home, that I would have it removed. The clerk then informed me that the Postal Service has every right to install the box and they do not have to inform the Property Owner of the installation. Hmmm... am I not a Tax Payer? The Post Master NEVER returned my call! Still waiting and it is March 12th.
My Husband went in and left his cell phone number. The Post Master did call my husband. My Husband asked her about this parcel box being installed in front of our home. He asked why we where not contacted? He asked if She had even gone out and surveyed the site? The Post Master stated she had not done either, that she was taking the suggestions from the mail carriers. He explained that if she had done her research, she would have already realized that we have a postal box for the neighborhood on the right side of our home/driveway and that installing the parcel postal box on our left side of our home/driveway, that we should basically set up shop and sell stamps also!
The Post Master stated she had two Parcel postal box that she wanted to put to use, and asked the mail carriers where the Parcel boxes should be installed. Our New mail carrier when asked by my husband, stated she made the suggestion because she is tired of getting out of her truck and delivering packages to the homes There are eight homes in the circle drive. It is not like she delivers every day a package! It's called being lazy! GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! How dare the Postal Service think they have every right to NOT INFORM the HOME OWNER of putting a eye sore in front of their home. The Postal Service did not purchase our home! I take great pride, time and money to make our home beautiful!!!!!
It is bad enough when we want to pull into our drive way, that we have to wait for the neighbor's or Mail truck to move from the driveway when delivering or getting the mail. This is something that you except, it is being neighborly. It's called being considerate of others! This Post Master never once apologize to us for her inconsiderate action. If the Post Master had taken the time to do her Job correctly by contacting us, she would have realized that we all could have worked together/taken suggestions. I would have suggested removing the Old community mail box and placing the new community parcel box (I am assuming it also include mail slots), in its place. This is how it is done in Seattle or any large city! You Work together! Is this part of the NEW IMAGE the Postal Service is improving on?
This is one of the main reason, when ordering online, I ask to have it sent either by FedEx or UPS. I will pay extra if I have to! Their Drivers/Carriers provide exceptional customer service. If I can avoid using the USPS then I will, especially after this encounter. This is not the first time that this Post Office has made a outrageous error! I am really considering going to the press/social media and sharing my experience. USPS New Customer Service and Experience with the Public! This is why the Public/Tax Payers dislike the Postal service because of their rudeness, their uncaring action towards the public, and are using other means of service! Thank You.

PSE, Mail Processing Clerk: Pay is great for type of work. Just be prepared for the following... No such thing as a regular schedule. You will work nights, your start time can change daily, your end time is never known, you can work anywhere from 2 hrs to 12 hrs per day night. You will work all holidays with no holiday pay, you get a 1/2 lunch break, you will stand the entire work night minus your 15 mins breaks & lunch, no formal training. You're told to keep machine running at certain speeds or else you might have to answer why you didn't. Most of your co-workers will help you, but some may not have your best interest at heart so be careful. A ton of repetitive work, all muscles get worked, you'll work with with other PSE'S and Career persons. The word "Career" means you have a permanent job, a PSE job is call a Postal support employee, you're needed whenever, & wherever your are needed.
You can have up to 5-6 supervisors who all can tell you what to do, most supervisors do not communicate with each other, so be careful. Try your hardest not to get hurt, the red tape can be awful. You are allowed to work up to 360 days per year, then you must take a mandatory 5 days off - no pay, you are officially terminated, but if you're a good worker, you are allowed to return to your job. But you lose any seniority. If you can stomach this type of a job, then the US Post office is for you.

I have been in contact with multiple USPS customer service members who put a track on the package and told me I would hear back in 24-48 hours. I scheduled a pick up the other day, and we waited and waited and they never came. Then I get this email CONFIRMING that the package was picked up successfully?!!! I guess the mailman felt like not picking it up so he marked it as picked up! Absolutely ridiculous!
Always 1 or 2 employees helping at the post office with a line so long sometimes it extends out to the corridor. When I call I have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes on the phone for someone to answer like I have nothing to do but to sit and wait on the phone-- let alone that it takes time to even get to that option that transfers my call to customer service.

I have been using the USPS, unfortunately, for my small business for many years. Over time, this company has failed continuously to complete simple tasks, and ultimately, is destroying my small business, but seems to not really care. It’s truly unfortunate that they can continually LIE about the service guarantees, selling the higher end products, but when the deal goes sour, they run saying there was no guarantee, that it is merely a suggestion. WHY would any other company on the face of the earth be sued for FALSE ADVERTISING, yet USPS continually adds more depth to their lies, and they totally get away with it?
I can’t fathom how a company can say they will deliver your packages, will scan them delivered, and that the service guarantee is so many days only to find out later when the scans don’t happen, and the delivery is late or all together non existent, that really there is no guarantee at all? How can they continue to sell us FLUFF, and when it comes down to it, not have to stand behind these bologna promises they make?
Currently, as I write this, I send out about 50 parcels per week, and about 10 of those parcels weekly, whether it be priority, express, or first class (rarely used, I was bullied into paying higher prices, by the fact they lost 50% of the first class parcels), nothing is ever delivered on time, or by their very own expected delivery date, and when they are not, no problem, they just simply update the info on their site to suit them, so there can be no claims filed. They also prevent any registered mail items from being claimed either. I am told that I can’t claim registered mail that I paid 24.00 to ship online, or at the post office. So where do I file a claim? NOWHERE I GUESS... Boy, was I fooled. Shame on me! Bottom line, if you do get your mail delivered, consider yourself having the luckiest day ever, and go buy a lottery ticket.

Jan. 24 package is tracked as departing Norfolk, VA... But nothing ever to be heard of again. No tracking updates, no delivery, no trace. The fact that USPS was able to lose a 15 Ibs. 21" x 14" package is not the most upsetting part. It's the way they DON'T handle it after losing it.
After calling the 1-800-ask-usps, we began the journey of our 1-month (going on 2+ months) run around. We're told not to worry, as we should wait at least 7-days after its original delivery date. Next we're advised to start a claim that is later escalated to regional Consumer Affairs. That claim was then escalated to USPS Inspections for theft.
In between all of this time we've gone through 3-4 different case numbers, 2 Consumer Affairs offices (Los Angeles,CA / Richmond, VA), 5 different Consumer Affair officers to handle the case , 3 Sorting Facility Supervisors in (Norfolk, Chicago, Los Angeles), 2 Post Masters (Beverly Hills 90211, Newport News, VA), 1 desk clerk (who accepted the package), an ongoing Inspections Case and a huge amount of valuable business hours/time lost. Not to mention a MRC (Mail Recovery Center) case filed, where USPS will quickly tell you that your package is lost because you labeled it incorrectly or that the very large and sticky labels with address, one with tracking, and another with barcode somehow CAME OFF all by itself.
And that it's more than likely stuck inside their ONE and ONLY! Mail Recovery Center in the whole United States, located in none other than Atlanta, GA where thousands of mis-delivered packages are sent each and every day, rather than attempt to locate and re-deliver the package locally, they rather sort through it at their Atlanta, GA MRC where they AUCTION off YOUR goods 3-4 months later for even MORE profit towards themselves!!?
On behalf of Us poor misfortunate, trusting users of their so called mailing service you tell me who wins in this situation? Usps Tracking is a joke, the service they offer you is a joke, the Customer Service... where's the service?? Don't let them lie to you and tell you that it's only 1% of packages to get lost, because 1-month later, this very thing happened AGAIN. Which also I should remind you, NEVER use the Mail Intercept Service!!! Never, ever, ever! It's offered on the website at a substantial price. When the item is made for intercepted and labeled for re-delivery, they often lose that too. Even while asking the clerks about the Mail Intercept Service, most USPS workers never even heard of it! Does that sound like the kind of mailing service you want to trust with your valuable goods?
The bottom line is, you're going to lose with USPS through their miscommunication channels, departments do not speak to one another or work together for any reason, they WILL NOT call you back so don't even allow them to say it, you'll be lucky if your customer service rep is even in this country, and expect a 30-60 day bare minimum times length before you're able to move towards any step of resolution. At this point we're just counting our losses. One thing's for sure, as a smart business, we're not using the USPS services ever again. Unless you enjoy time wasted, lost packages, no customer service and zero resolution... Take our advice, DON'T DO IT! You can do better.

I put in a 30 day vacation hold, on January 24, 2015. Came back early to retrieve my mail on February 12, 2015 and was told they had no mail on hold, it went out for delivery after 30 days! I said it's not 30 days I put the hold on Jan. 26th. Was told the only person that can help was ** who was in a meeting. They gave me the general number to call and I did and finally spoke to **. He said he would take care of it.. I asked if I left him my cell number would he call me and inform me of what's going on and he said yes. "I'll come back next Wed." I told him because of the drive from Orange County to the Bicentennial Station, Los Angeles, California 90048. Never heard back from **, after leaving messages and calling repeatedly.
I returned on the 18th of February and again was told no mail and ** wasn't available. I said I'm not leaving until I get some help or some answers. After a half hour wait a woman named ** came out and I explained the situation. She asked who my mail carrier was and I explained her appearance and ** excused herself for a moment and came back with a pike of my mail! She told me to redo the hold and do a change of address which she handed me then left. I filled them in and hand them to a woman postal worker behind the bullet proof counter.
I returned on March 10, 2015 to inquire about my mail which I haven't received. I was told there was no mail on hold or in the back. Only ** can help and he is in the field. "Can I speak to anyone else?" The station manager or whoever they said was in a meeting and they don't know when it will end. If I wanted I could wait for a chance to see them when the meeting is over, "But I don't know when that will be." I walked into where the line forms for stamps and such and asked the woman answering general question of anyone can help? She tried but couldn't get anywhere and gave me some paper and told me to write the dates down and what happened. She assured me she would make sure that ** would receive what I wrote.
This is where it stands as I wrote this on March 10, 2015. ** and ** are the only people who have tried to help. ** no longer works at the station and ** are at the mercy of **, who is in the field or in a meeting or just plain won't respond!

I have made several attempts to file a claim and complaint as they are not making attempts to deliver hold it at the post office for a significant amount of time without informing me or leaving slip to advise me to pick up and then will send it back to the sender. I have had this happen several times more than I care to count. On other occasions when I order items I'm expecting I am calling the proprietors of the business.
Looking for my packages they have informed me it went out priority delivery and when they track it themselves it will indicate in the system as delivered. Yet I never receive it. After a week or more of it sitting in post office I have to print out the email the business sends me for my records. Take that to post office as proof and only then will I know that there is a package there waiting for me. I tell the window clerk no attempt was ever made or no slip was left in box advising me I had a package waiting. Am told to file a complaint or claim online and nothing has been resolved. I have had at least 25% of my checks come ripped up (damaged in transit as they write on them) which considering I get very few checks a very large number of damaged envelopes. Funny how it always ends up being checks. I moved 5 months ago, we put in a forwarding at least 2 weeks ahead of our move date, and to date we have received approximately 10 pieces of mail forwarded. Businesses have called me asking what the new address is as they have received undeliverable mail. Seriously??? Including the local water agency, with my bill past due, a client that had sent out another check (they sent me the original envelope to prove it), and a package that actually went completely MIA but it shows "delivered" on their tracking website which obviously isn't true. That was sent, by the way, to my old address which is a UPS mailbox store and they refused the package to the mail carrier directly.
Their website tracking is a complete joke as it is, nothing is updated on time so you never know where your package is until you actually have it in your hands - IF you get that lucky! Now in the new neighborhood I have received the wrong mail no fewer than 5 times. So where is my mail on those days??? Even a package that was delivered to my doorstep!!!!! Seriously, how can one company be this incompetent!?!? Avoid them if you can. Unfortunately for me, it's the vendor I buy from that ships this way so I don't have a choice in the matter very often. But I don't use them to ship out anymore!

My husband and I moved to a small town almost two years ago from a much larger city and at first we had no issues with the post office here. Our mail carrier was nice and the lady that worked at the post office behind the counter was always very friendly. I've only been inside the building twice and never saw anyone other than the one woman. Now we've moved to a different house in the same town and we're having nothing but problems.
First, a package I was expecting was not delivered but instead "returned to sender" without any sort of notification. If I hadn't checked the tracking I wouldn't have known. Aren't they supposed to give you one of those orange cards with the re-delivery option? Well, that didn't happen. Today I went to the post office to see about getting it redelivered and to see about our change of address (because USPS website won't stop changing our old address to the "preferred format" which doesn't match the address on our bank cards so the $1.50 charge won't go through.
Apparently our local post office closes for an hour every day from 12:30-1:30 and of course they don't have it posted outside on the door with the business hours so I go in and there's a lady standing at the inside door beyond the PO boxes and she very rudely says, "We're not open," like I'm just supposed to know that. I ask her when they're open again and she even more rudely answers, "1:30." I'm just so fed up with the entire thing. A little kindness in this world would go a very long way and I certainly don't expect that kind of treatment when doing nothing wrong. So now I don't know when I'm going to get my package re-delivered and I still need to do a change of address. Guess I'm driving out of my way to handle it because I'm certainly not dealing with that B again.

I have had the same issues with the Sullivan post office since I moved to the neighborhood. I created an account to set up for my packages to be left at the door because of the problems I always have. They sent me an email saying it wasn't left and to reschedule. I called USPS customer service and didn't get an answer. She says they don't send out emails but my local office did which I don't believe it came from the website I registered at so I find it hard to believe the local offices are handling website emails too. I have to reschedule re-deliveries.
I even talked to a manager there who was an African, extremely rude and hung up on me. I had signed the ticket for them to re-deliver and via phone. I still had to reschedule it again. It's always a problem getting my deliveries. Vendors on eBay and off need to stop the USPS for delivery. These issues are across the board. The USPS don't care because they're the government and can't be sued for their screw-ups but vendors can doing their clients a favor and either stop using them or give us the option to choose how we want our packages delivered.

I have worked for the USPS for 14 years. I can't believe how much the Post Office has moved backwards instead of forward. As a window clerk, I am supposed to up-sell all day long. The computer shows service standards for delivery-which are so inaccurate. I'm supposed to offer special services, overnight delivery, insurance, signature, proof of delivery, and when the package arrives late or damaged or not at all, the customer has to jump through hoops trying to get a refund.
Management is a joke. They don't want to help customers with a problem. They won't find answers to questions the staff has. My postmaster won't answer the phone if he's on his cell phone. We used to be customer friendly, offering customer service. Not any more. We return mail with a bad address even if we know where the mail goes, we often have to work alone, can't access stamp stock when postmaster leaves 3 hours before our window closes. We falsely scan packages so our percentage looks good. There's even another clerk who talks on his phone, as he's working the window. Oh, and the postmaster parked in a handicapped parking all day because he's too lazy to park where the rest of the employees park. I am so ashamed to admit I work for this organization.

I am waiting on my son's birthday invitations that I ordered on February 23,2015. The company put them in the wonderful USPS system on March 3rd for 3 day shipping. It's been three days, going on four, on the post office just says "well, that 3 days is an average" and "we are experiencing longer shipping times due to consolidation". Well, maybe they need to stop calling it 3 day shipping!!!! People pay extra and then get nothing in return. No wonder no one wants to use the postal service. This is not my first problem, this is my THIRD issue in the last 2 months.
The first one someone at the post office put it in the wrong route, so when the carrier tried to deliver there was no number on the street so they SENT IT BACK. No one thought to look and say, "Hmm, we should check the street name". The next incident I had a tracking number so I checked and it said on the USPS website that it was delivered but I didn't have my order. After a few calls and such with no luck I was just told that it would show up. And then a person down the street brought it to me, it was delivered to the wrong house number and they were honest enough to bring it over. Now, I am fuming as I am sitting here trying to figure out how to explain to my soon to be 6 year old that we will have to figure out another way to invite people to his party since the invitations I ordered are not here yet, thanks to the postal service. So glad to have paid that $8.00 shipping for the "average" of 3 days.

I asked the postmaster how he could claim that when it was obviously not true, he claimed that they were not delivered due to snow around my mailbox. The packages were supposed to be delivered to my door but he said all my mail was being held due to the snow around the mail box. I have had all the snow removed and have pics showing my vehicle easily pulled up to the box but still have not had mail delivered.
The Auburn PA post office was a total disaster and in my opinion, a safety hazard of which I have pics. I have been dealing with this issue for the past month! From 2/19/15-3/1/15 we received absolutely NO mail. Now I understand that because of the weather on 2/23/15 we didn't receive any mail and I can even understand the next day due to the aftermath. However, I was able to SAFELY get in and out of my driveway as of 2/25/15 (our mailbox is off the main road and in our driveway). So I call to see what's going on and I'm told due to the weather, it wasn't able to be delivered and will be redelivered. At this point, I was now not only waiting on my regular mail but 9 packages also. So I wait 2/26/15 - no mail. 2/27/15 - no mail. 2/28/15 - no mail. So I call the 1-800 # AGAIN and they say "Well I see you filed a case but they didn't submit for re-delivery." SERIOUSLY?!
So I asked them to submit for re-delivery and I FINALLY receive a TON of mail on 3/2/15 with a note from our postal lady saying that because we live on a main road, unless she can turn around in our driveway, she won't be delivering our mail. My problem with this statement is we have a U-shaped driveway, there is NO NEED to turn around, you pull in one way and out the other. So at this point, I'm beyond angry. My husband is now waiting on 4+ packages which have all been scanned as no secure location to leave the packages. Our mailbox isn't the average size mailbox - we have the huge box that you can fit 2 average size mailboxes into. So for her to say at 10 AM (before she even leaves the post office - we normally receive our mail after 4pm so how is it at 10AM you already know you can't deliver our mail?!) that she has nowhere to leave the packages is ridiculous!
So once again I call the 1-800 # on 3/5/15 and the gentleman proceeds to tell me he can tell that she isn't attempting to deliver and it would seem like it was out of retaliation for my complaints. Again, SERIOUSLY?! I wouldn't complain if I received my mail. We had 60+ degree weather this past week and there was no reason our mail couldn't be delivered!! No wonder no one likes to ship items with USPS!! As you can see, my husband and I send/receive a lot of packages and at this point, I don't ever want to use USPS to ship my items and only use UPS or FEDEX, which by the way delivered our packages to us in the 2 weeks when USPS didn't! Yet again, shipped my packages and as I always do, I stood in line and waited to have my prepaid packages scanned through to show accepted when tracked. Between January 31 and February 28, I had 3 packages that took 9 days to be delivered! Two of the packages were shipped on the same day, one to Texas and one to Alabama. Oddly, I shipped another package to Texas, also first-class as was the previous package, on a different day and that package took 2 days for delivery.
The saga continues and regardless of what class I use it's really a crap shoot. Priority now can take 5-6 days from San Francisco to New York and if my packages are not scanned in, ( I make sure that I wait in line for this one), buyers will not believe that I did my usual fast shipping. I don't know what's happened internally, but the post office is losing tons of business as businesses now take their shipping elsewhere.
When a package is lost, and I have had my share of lost packages, that insurance means nothing. They have you jump through hoops and then lose the paperwork. I am beyond frustrated. I no longer have a mailbox at the physical address due to people destroying it, so I use a PO Box. The package was tracked all the way to my post office, then nothing. It took days to contact the post office because they open late and close early. When I did get hold of them they stated the package had been returned because of undeliverable address. We have lived in this small town for 18 yrs.
My problem/question is: If the USPS is hurting for business due to all the Internet business, Why wouldn't they deliver a package to a house like UPS and FedEx? I paid $18.00 for this to be delivered and feel they should give my $ back. The TV commercials for the USPS is truly mis-advertisement, if they won’t deliver. Is this the way it is everywhere or is there a problem with the Jarrell, Tx. USPS????

I came on here to complain about Murrieta CA Post Office on Los Alamos sending out mail late and I notice there is another complaint from someone regarding the same post office. What is with them? Are they just too busy or understaffed? For example I dropped off my packages on Thursday and 2 days later on Saturday it is electronically accepted by the post office, wth! I own a online business and just relocated from Temecula to Murrieta. We list on our website that customers should receive their package in a certain amount of days. I never had a problem with the Temecula post office. I would drop off packages almost daily and they would be shipped out the same day.
Since I have been dropping off packages at the Murrieta Post office packages seem to be leaving 2 days later. I want to know why? I have never had so many complaints from customers not receiving their packages on time. I had to extend my amount of days for shipping on my website. Though my repeat customers think they will get it sooner and are now disappointed. This just leaves me with a bunch of unhappy customers.

I just recently moved to Macon, Ga. I contacted all family, friends, and businesses of my new address and USPS to have mail forwarded. I noticed I was not receiving my mail so I contacted these businesses to inquire about it. They informed me. They sent the mail over a week earlier. I notified the post office and they said they would look into it. I then was informed by another business that my mail was returned to them but they had the correct address.
I again contacted the post office and asked to speak to a supervisor who told me to stop contacting them complaining about not receiving a check. I let him know it's not just the checks. It's all of my mail. He just replied "Stop calling us complaining about a check." I let him know that I will be making a formal complaint which I tried but didn't get any help. After that, I was informed by my mother that she’s sending some important documents (3 weeks ago) which I never received.
I also never received my school's transcripts that I needed for my job which is now on the line of dismissing me for not providing the proper documentation. I contacted Consumer Affairs and talked to someone name ** 904-359-2771 who was bothered and rude when she was asking questions. Every time I answered, she huffed and sighed loudly like I was getting one her nerves. I tried to ignore it and continue to make the complaint until she blew up and said "I see why you are not getting your mail..." I told her she acts like I am getting on her nerves and she replied "You are getting on my nerves." I then ask to speak to her supervisor and she gave me a number ** to a ** who is out on vacation.
I have contacted several other offices and made several complaints only to be treated in the utmost vile and disgusting manner by any business ever. There should be no reason why any business would act so unprofessionally because of a customer's concern on undelivered mail by the way which I am still not getting. Now I believe it's out of spite and retaliation.
This is now becoming a civil matter because it's a federal offense to tamper with anyone's mail. This now don't only involve me, but my mother whose identity may be stolen due to lack of handling the mail, my job that is on the line, and my documents which are not getting received. Something seriously needs to be done about this type of behavior. Also, the post office need to start monitoring or recording the phone calls so they can get an idea of how their employees are talking to the consumers.

I requested a mail hold for 25 February - 2 March. With the action request to deliver all accumulated mail and resume normal delivery on the ending date. Additional Information included with the mail hold request "Mail can be placed in the porch when delivered. Thank you." Pretty Simple............. Apparently Not! Mail was delivered on Friday, 27 February and Monday, 2 March. Both clearly a single day delivery and one of them during the mail hold time period.
Did I get my accumulated mail delivered 2 March? NO!! Can I get USPS to answer their customer service line? NO! Is there a way for me to contact someone through the internet for assistance? NO! Won't it be interesting to find out what happens when I go to the Post Office directly today and ask "WHERE IS MY MAIL?" I needed to put another mail hold on for a week in March.........can the USPS be trusted to get it done right? ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE BUT APPARENTLY IMPROBABLE!

Unites States Postal Service lost my Passport, my I-20 and all my personal documents. I had sent my passport entrusting USPS to deliver my package to the UK visa consulate and bring it back to me. My visa got issued, the UK consulate sent my documents back before time and USPS messed up. The one step where I thought I won't get stuck and I got stuck there. I had started my first enquiry on the 19th of February because my package was in transit for 6 days without any further tracking details. I started an enquiry to find my package. Since the last 2 weeks I have been running around.
I am an international student without any identity as USPS lost it. Whenever I called anyone from USPS they were rude and disinterested saying they can't do anything. UK visa consulate called me one day and said, "Your package is damaged and all your documents are lost." The proof of which I am attaching below. USPS did not even have the courtesy to inform me. I don't know which irresponsible person puts an envelope through a sorting machine. I have started 2 enquiries, a mail recovery process, identity theft report and still no result. I was supposed to fly on Thursday to meet my family after a year but can't as these people lost my passport and can't find it. I have invested so much money in this trip in terms of flight tickets, hotel bookings and visa application. I will also spend so much more to apply for a new passport and will have to fly to India to get the US visa embossed on my passport.
I have never gone through anything like this and I am super heart broken. The trip that I was planning since the last 6 months got canceled because of some careless people who couldn't send my passport back to me. I am extremely angry as well and will make sure that I claim all my money that I have lost in this process. I cannot lose everything. I am extremely disappointed in USPS and don't think I am ever going to use it again.

I sent a padded envelope package Priority Mail from my local post office on 2/6/15. Delivery was scheduled for 2/9/15 to my mother, who lives in an apartment complex. Mailboxes are by the swimming pool, so it would be highly irresponsible to leave outside of her mailbox. Online tracking shows it was delivered at 11:38 am on 2/9/15, however, she has never received it.
After calling and finally talking to 3 USPS people (and over 2 1/2 hours on hold), I have been told that the package was delivered and the case has been closed. My mother has talked to the carrier twice and he says he does not deliver in the morning. The post office says they talked to the carrier and he says he delivered it. The apartment office says they do not have it.
My mother is obsessed with not receiving it and I am angry at the incompetence. With the cost of shipping Priority, the cost of the book and the gift certificate also enclosed, I am out $54.33. This may not be much to some, but it is to me. No one seems to care. If I am forced to send again, it will not be through the post office. Wake up!

Every time I go into the Mentor, Ohio post office on Reynolds Rd. it is always a line. Today, was overwhelming. I entered the office at 4 p.m. today. They only had one person at the counter with a line to the back door. The second associate arrived at 4:20 p.m., and then the other associate starting taking passport customers and shut her line down with once again a line that was at the back door entrance. When the other associate finished the passport customers she did not return which left only one associate with a line that was at the back door with a customer that he was taking care of with 20 packages to send off. While this customer approached with all of the packages the previous associate was aware but never returned. This individual transaction took an additional 25 minutes.
This post office has the worse rating in my book on customer satisfaction and respect for an individual's time. HORRIBLE!!!! Of course this made me 30 minutes late from my lunch break. I recommend no one should go there. This was my last visit and will not go there again. Perfect example of FEDERAL workers!!!

Why did it take 48 hours to get to Dallas only 50 miles away? It left the Dallas facility at 4:44 PM February 21, 2015 and arrived at the Bell Gardens Ca mail facility February 25, 2015 at 10:24 PM February 25, 2015. It left the Bell Gardens facility February 26, 2015 at 2:19 AM and that is the last record of the parcel.
I called the Burleson Tx post office for some information only to wait 22 minutes on hold to speak to the Postmaster and was told he would not be there until two days later. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were not available. I called back 1 hour and 20 minutes later and was told the same thing and left my name and number and three (3) hours later no call back. This is why customer service is at an all-time low for the Postal Service. I have sent parcels to Chula Vista Ca before and had similar service by parcels going through the Bell Gardens Ca mail facility. I read several complaints from other people about that sorting facility and this is the last time I will use the USPS for parcels. I do not ever have a problem with letter mail getting there, just parcels.

Sent a package from WV to CO on February 2nd. Paid for Priority 2 day shipping, with insurance amount of $100 and tracking (additional fees paid). Post office was closed so I used the kiosk. Total shipping fee just under $20 for a small package that contained clothes in excess of $100 for my son. The machine printed up the postage and I placed ALL of the postage stickers on the new priority box as indicated. Package was likely picked up on a Monday.
When my son had not received the package on Thursday, I called USPS to inquire. I had my receipt, but sadly, it did not contain the tracking number that I had paid extra $ for (I find this curious because EVERY time I send a package at the post office desk, the receipt HAS the tracking number listed right on it). I had a transaction number and a receipt number. I was told I was SOL and they couldn't honor the insurance I purchased because I did not have the tracking number (although I held the receipt which was at least a foot long).
The package finally shows up at my son's house on Feb. 28th; only after I replaced all the clothes that were "lost in the mail" without insurance that I paid for. I have successfully sent my son at least a dozen packages without incident through USPS before to the exact same address. What is going on with USPS? This has officially cost me over $200 plus shipping even though I hold the receipt in my hand. So, I paid for "Priority 2 days" and the package took 26 days and no honor of insurance that I paid for. I am disappointed. If there is no tracking information printed on the receipts, perhaps it's a kiosk issue. It really needs to be addressed but I find postal employees dis-concerned with fixing issues any time I call.

I am an international customer (living in Singapore) and am writing this review because the USPS website has proven completely unhelpful to me. In October last year, I ordered a birthday gift from the US for my boyfriend, who lives in the Netherlands. A few weeks after the seller confirmed that he had sent the item, it had not arrived, so I decided to follow up on it. He and I both contacted USPS, to no avail. As of today, the item (tracking no.: **) is nowhere to be found.
My boyfriend has contacted PostNL, his local postal service, and there is no record of the item ever arriving at any of its offices. I myself went to the USPS website and emailed all the available USPS addresses I could find, but I kept getting the same answer: apparently, they can't help me because all their departments are somehow not in charge of missing packages. I've been redirected more times than I care to count, each time to another equally useless source. Also, despite stating clearly in each of my emails that I am an international customer, I have been told to call your hotline, another pointless endeavour.
The seller of the item advised my boyfriend to file a stolen package claim, but since PostNL has no record of the item, he had to do so with USPS. Of course, he suffered the same fate I did, since USPS seems to dislike international customers, insisting they provide a US zip code, or call your US hotlines, which makes zero sense. USPS also insisted that it does not provide services for tracking numbers like that of the item I purchased. We have both been led through an endless labyrinth of utterly unhelpful emails and responses to even the simplest of requests. I have been thrown from one equally useless source to another like a soccer ball in a minor league game, and I am really at my wit's end. I cannot even begin to truly describe just how frustrated and angry I am with USPS and its horrendous incompetence.
