I was expecting an important package so I had it delivered to my work and was supposed to be delivered by the end of the day and we are open till 9:00 pm. So the driver came by at 5:58 pm and said that there was nobody here to receive the package. And after seeing that message I called customer service to tell them that the driver did not stop here and we were open till 9:00 pm and they were less than 10 minutes away so the customer service person on the phone said "We will try to get the package delivered to you tonight and we will call you back within the hour!"
Well I waited and did not receive a call, so just called them again this morning and got the run around again and said "they did not call you back because they never got a hold of the driver." So I asked why they even tell customers they will call them back and I was told again they will call me today but I am not holding my breath! If I did my job the way they do theirs I would be fired!!! Horrible service and I will gladly pay more money to FedEx for better service and will no longer purchase products who uses United Postal Services as the only shipper! If ZERO stars were available that would be my choice! VERY DISSATISFIED!!!

My mother in-law was nice enough to send a snowsuit for her grandchild on 11/18/2015. The package was delivered but we were not home. They left a note saying where the package would be for pickup but when we went to the post office they said it wasn't there. So I went online for re-delivery the next day and no delivery. I called customer service and they said some will be contacting me about the matter. I got a call back number but no one helped me. It is now December 8, and still no package. I'm done with USPS. We are so suppose to trust this method of delivery around the world and I lost all trust. The workers are rude and disrespectful when you come into the facility. I'm done.

I ordered a product several days before Thanksgiving. USPS picked it up from the shipper, and when they entered it they gave me a delivery date of Dec. 1. It sat in a transit center two states away for a week. Their excuse? Black Friday was busy for them. We are now a week past the delivery date, and the product is finally at least in the same state I am. Who knows when it will actually show up? From now on, I will go with UPS or FedEx. If the shipper doesn't want to use them, I'll find another shipper.

I shipped a package out on the 30th. My friend was going to get it on the 4th. It kept showing it sitting in Sandston so I called. The first time I got the local post office, which the woman told me all kinds of stories about the sorting plant and how many people called complaining. She was nice enough to give me the number to the sorting plant so I called them. I ended up talking to some rude woman. She said my friend will get it on the 4th that it had left the plant. I asked why wasn't it scanned then? She told me some do some don't. I then asked, "Then what makes one package different than the next?" Her reply was "I don't know sir".
Friday came, Friday went (No package) so I called back up there and talked to another rude lady by the name JoAnn. She tells me they are behind and that she would get it tomorrow. Again Tomorrow came, (No package). Now clearly someone is lying. Judging by the report from NBC12 news crew and the 100's of customer comments. Something needs done about the plant. I will be talking to my local congressman about this issue as well.

But until today my UPS packages were successful delivered but the USPS still attempted!!! I feel so bad. And also USPS sometimes says delivered but no package in the school mail room. And that happened to me couple times. But what can I do??? Those sellers still using USPS...

I had a package delivered and tracked. When the package got there, it was undeliverable. I then put in for a re-delivery after a week of being stationary at its destination. I called to find out what happened. I was told they would not be responsible for it going to the wrong address and refused to deliver it. 1 hour after I called, it began to move again away from it's destination. Why do you have a re-delivery if you don't listen to your customers. The package was already where it needed to be, all you had to do was take it there and it wasn't going anywhere till I called.

But today is Dec 2nd and still when I check the tracking, its showing as accepted in the Original Location and no further information. I contacted their customer service and also the branch. Both do not know what happened. They filed a case. The lady who sits in the customer service, do not know anything about USPS. The last date for acceptance by the Merchant is December 4th. If its not reaching by that time, I will be losing 500 Dollar... I do not know what to do. Will they return my item back to me or what will be my situation?

I ordered an iPad from Amazon. The projected delivery date was Friday after Thanksgiving. I checked online to find the item was listed as delivered on the Tuesday before. I live in a condo community where mail is delivered to locked cluster boxes. Well there was no key in my box to access a locked parcel box. I waited for the carrier to find out she is a sub. I told her about the missing delivery, said she delivered to my condo. I am retired and was home all day, there was no delivery. What did I get, attitude and sorry about your luck since tracking indicated item was delivered... to who, not me. Wonder why the USPS is in such poor financial condition. People are turning to other means of delivery.

No results are achieved, whatsoever. That's if you are lucky enough to ever get in, because no matter how carefully you save your password, you can never get in again. I've been complaining for years. I called their 800 number, and the representative actually admitted that she receives complaints about how the site fails to perform, constantly, and no one seems to care. Shouldn't someone care?? My husband and I are elderly, and both disabled. We really need to count on the Internet to handle much of our household business. I tried to call and inquire to determine what was going on and was on hold for over 20 minutes and finally had to hang up because I didn't have time to hang around any longer. I paid for express shipping to Vegadeo Asturias Spain in August. After numerous phone calls to International Claims at USPS, the package mysteriously returned to my home after almost two months. Apparently it was held at customs in Madrid. The recipients live more than 3 hours from Madrid and were not able to work with the Customs office to find agreeable solution. The package was only worth $100 and clearly stated it was a photo and pair of sunglasses!!! Moral of the story is to anticipate customs involvement, do not pay for extra shipping, and ask USPS for clarification on what is involved for delivery in other Country. No one mentioned the need to pay additional fees on other end. Other reviews indicate this is a problem with Spain. Final factor resulting in my post was there is NO recourse from USPS for this issue. Simply out the postage and the items are not where they belong.

It went From Adams, NY to Rochester NY and then to NH, all within a day's travel. I figured the company would receive the letter by Monday which is what I was told. Well it turns out, the envelope my local post office have me was known for defects due to a clear sleeve on the cover of it. Here it has been almost a month since I've mailed it this upcoming Friday and it has yet to be sent to its destination in ME.
I am furious about it and there is no number you can call without being put on hold for 30 minutes and then have to talk to a damn robot. As of the last few months this year, I have noticed a phenomenon with the US Postal Service, in particular their Los Angeles USPS Facility. High valued insured packages destined for other parts of the country seem to get "stuck" at the aforementioned facility for periods of up to one week or more and for no good reason. While I understand USPS Registered and Insured is advertised as very secure, yet also very slow, this lengthy and unwarranted delay is a relatively new and very annoying occurrence.
Case in point and according to the USPS Tracking app, a parcel destined for HELENA, MT was dropped off at the Redlands, CA USPS office on October 26th, 2015, it arrived in Los Angeles on November 7th, 2015 (by this time, there is an excessive delay to reach Los Angeles). It then left the Los Angeles Facility on the 7th and finally delivered on the 11/13/15. Several attempts were made to reach the LA facility (both by the recipient of the parcel as well as the Redlands USPS office) with no explanation given as to the whereabouts of the parcel - only that "it was in the LA facility and it would be sent soon".
The parcel was delivered intact and there was no apparent attempt of tampering. However, I feel there has been a shift in the quality of the USPS service and our confidence in their delivery service, especially as it pertains to their Los Angeles office, is eroding. Something needs to be done soon to help remedy this breakdown in service. Will be happy to provide more details if necessary.

On 11/2, I sent a birthday card (in a padded envelope) to a friend in Ireland. I live near Dallas, Texas and it usually takes 7-10 business days. I sent it First Class International and paid $7.10 and was told that it would arrive within 10 business days. By today, 11/18, it STILL hasn't been received. I called an automated number which, after putting in the tracking code, told me that it couldn't provide any information and to contact the recipient.
I then called the Customer Service number and spoke to a representative. She told me that my letter had been sent to MEXICO. I asked how that happened, since I clearly put CORK CITY, IRELAND on the envelope. She blamed it on a sorting machine. Yeah, because no human ever touches the mail from destination A to B. She stated that it was being re-routed from Mexico to Ireland. I asked for a refund. According to her, you don't get a refund for shipping First Class Intl. I told her that since it's the fault of USPS, not me and that they didn't fulfill their end of the agreement in delivering it on time to the CORRECT country.
I asked for a supervisor. After she came on the line, she told me that it was being re-routed from Mexico to Ireland. Now I'm talking to the Consumer Affairs dept of USPS and she is telling me that my label fell off my package (her best guess) and was put on another package which was then shipped to the VIRGIN ISLANDS. She didn't see anything about Mexico. But it was sent to Chicago, so she thinks that it's somewhere in Chicago and wanted me to tell her what was in it. I became upset and rather **, I must admit. I said that USPS sucks, (which is a FACT), she said "Thank You" and hung up on me. So now I am trying to find the phone number for the postmaster general.

Technology isn't going to solve human problems and the USPS administration should know better. I'm talking about their GPS tracing system allowing dispatchers to know a real time location of the postal delivery vehicles. The satellite will pin point exactly where the vehicle is and where it has been BUT... I promise you you've been fooled and we customers have been victimized by those postal "officers" with their tricks. When it rains big time and the level of personal responsibility inherent to a given worker is low, they simply stay for a while sitting inside their vehicles not picking up the mail from the mail boxes. The sophisticated technology may prove their location but not their actual delivery status. Once again the human factor has been unsuccessfully replaced by more expensive technology to accomplish NOTHING. Thanks.

This company has gone on extensive times where they have shown their laziness and unreliability far too long. Let's put out another point shall we. Ok, on top of the 6 packages lost by the USPS, they still cling to the ideals of we don’t know, we are sorry, maybe “You” should go priority or express packaging next time. This is their Chief excuse whenever they mess up.
They hide behind the fact they are a government entity and tell you if you have a complaint call the hotline. Which if you don’t say “COMPLAINT” the machine will annoyingly keep say "how may I help you" and keep you in the main menu, which already increases your anger. Then when you do have a complaint it takes 30-45 mins for them to answer, and the call back time is full of lies, because it’s never on time. And if you ask for supervisor ohh they will call you back in 48-72 hours… That’s what you are told, and when do they call you back ALWAYS after 7 pm. ALWAYS!!! Then they will constantly try to always push it off that it's your fault. For either:
A. Because it was not paid for with insurance, (it’s a letter envelope) that’s like me telling my customers "Well you didn’t buy warranty coverage so those warranty parts that we are supposed to cover not doing it." If a customer comes in complaining about something that was done by us, we fix it. Not cower in the corner saying we are part of the government.
B. "We service millions of customers a day, we can't be responsible for your package." (Yes I was told this by Mike, wouldn’t give me his last name.) We are a nationwide Dealership, Trucking Company, Sports Racing, and Parts Dealer. We serve Millions of people and dollars a day too. We never give them the Childish answers your company does.
C. "If it was that’s important you might want to go Priority or Express." Again if our customers don’t buy the Expensive RX, GT or Supra. Doesn’t mean we are going to not service their cars the exact same way. You buy a Corolla, a Matrix or even an Oil Filter, you're still going to get the same quality service from us. That’s not a way to up-sell. That is NOT GOOD BUSINESS!!!
D. "Well we attempted to deliver it." (They attempt to deliver the package “1” time, that’s it.) They ask you to place a phone number on your package and then never call you, never inform you, just send it back. And if there is no proper person to pick up the return, they just keep it. Their excuse is "We don’t have time to check with people." Again If a car breaks down we don’t have the parts or we run into something we don’t just stop, and send the car back busted. We attempt to help the customer call tell them the issue, identify and express ways to fix it. Millions of customers a day ALL OVER THE GLOBE. I work in Florida. Had an order from Germany. Played email tag with someone till we got him the parts he wanted. Because I wanted to make sure he got exactly what he needed.
God forbid if you get upset with them. I called in upset they lost a $135.00 part SENT PRIORITY MAIL!! Their excuses are here, because it didn’t have insurance and I should have put it in an unmarked box other than a Toyota Box, because their box are more secure??? Our boxes are secure. The only time they weren’t is in this companies hands. So he asked me if I was upset, I replied "Yes, yes I am upset. You lost my item and are saying it's my fault." HE then railroaded me and said "Well I’m sorry I couldn’t help you, if you have an further issues please feel free to call again." Then disconnected the call. That was his way of handling it.
I didn’t yell, didn’t cuss, I just replied yes to his question and he disconnected, because he was tired of me catching him in his BS, and repeating what he would tell me right back to him, and he would say I'm putting words in his mouth. No I was taking them right out of yours and regurgitating them back to you.
But how did this all start, we sent a package. They gave NO call, no update on the file, nothing came to my app, they just decided to send the package back instead of calling or holding at their post office till we got more info on the location of the customer. Lazy, incompetent, and excuses why the customer can't pick it up at the post office if it’s his package, I'm calling in, it's still in Houston, at HIS LOCAL POST OFFICE. But because the 1 number was off, on the address he entered and I copied and pasted onto your Postal Meter App. You're sending it back and screwing us Both our of time and money. Your company is worthless, and I can't wait till someone decides to make another postal carrier just as cheap but more efficient than your company. Which is rated “1” across the United States. FACT!!

I have had nothing but trouble with my mailwoman. Over the winter, a snow plow knocked my mailbox down. She immediately left me a nasty note saying she will no longer deliver mail to me until it is fixed. So, ok, I put the mailbox back up, and tied it on, hopefully until the ground thawed so I could put a new post in the ground. She wrote me another nasty note, giving me exact measurements it has to be or she will not deliver the mail to me. I caught her as she was leaving, and explained that this wasn’t my fault, her reply, "I don't care. It needs to be fixed per my instructions" and drove off without giving me any mail. I finally got it up and mail has been coming.
However, I am sure I am missing mail, or very late. For instance, an insurance company mailed out 4 checks to me and 3 of my brothers who all live in the same city. They all got theirs today, I am still waiting. And of course no one will believe me. The post woman would never do that. Yeah, whatever. The only recourse I have, is venting. So, Here I am. They had returned the package to sender. I accepted this and contacted seller to reship and paid shipping again. I continued to receive 'we missed you' slips and went to the post office again, in less than 15 days, and was told that my package had been returned to sender. This time there was no sender on the slip, and they could not tell me the sender or any additional information about the package aside from the tracking number. I asked to speak with a manager, and when I requested paperwork to in the future delay return to sender action, he told me that what I can do is get to the post office on time.
I questioned whether there were one or two packages returned to sender, and suggested that the post office have sender information on packages that I feel are their responsibility. At that point he raised his voice at me in front of the other post office patrons and was extremely rude and demeaning. He actually said it was the sender's fault, they shouldn't have sent it signature required! On top of that, I work full time and this rural post office has such short hours that I have to leave work early (impossible) to get to the P.O. How they expect me to do that is just beyond me.

One has been open since Sept and that package is still sitting at a post office and has not moved in over a month. The other is about my negligent carrier and have not heard once from Consumer Affairs since I called and opened it on Oct 9! Not sure what needs to be done in order to get Consumer Affairs to call people back. The call # states you will get a call on the same day. Well, it’s been over a week and a half. When you make your initial complaint, you are told you will get a call within 48 hours. Well, it’s almost a month now on that one. Time to complain about Consumer Affairs!

I had a parcel sent from the US to Australia. Simple, right? Not quite. The tracking info showed the parcel bouncing around the US for a while, seeing the country I suppose. The last time I checked, my parcel was at Heathrow Airport in England, across the other side of the world in another hemisphere. I finally was able to email USPS with a complaint, I had to use the sender's address and details as the USPS online system stonewalls any attempt by anyone overseas to make online contact.
USPS' reply was beyond belief, it assured me that it was normal practice to send a parcel to Australia via England. Seriously? They are either stupid or think I am. What earthly reason would compel USPS to put a package on a plane to a destination tens of thousands of miles from its final point of delivery. The email suggested that if I weren't happy with the response I could pick up the phone and call the Houston USPS office. When? At 2:am? Long distance? I don't think so. I was unable to reply the no reply USPS email. This whole thing is frustrating me beyond endurance.

Electronic Return Receipt from the USPS does not exist. You can track your letter or package, but you will never receive an electronic signature when the item is delivered. I have called, emailed, etc and there is no resolution. Postal employees have told me I must pay for hard copy return receipt if I require a signature upon delivery. This is NOT what is advertised and costs twice as much. And of about 100 items I have sent in the past six months, two have gone missing. Not a terrific record really. I am curious if anyone else has had this difficulty.

This is a review of the 800 number for the USPS. They might be fine in other area (questionable, but giving the benefit of the doubt), but the number was less than helpful. I was seeking information on locations and pickup times that could not be found on the website. I called the 800 number. It kept prompting me to go to the website if I didn't find what I was looking for. Not helpful. None of the automated responses fit my question, but it couldn't understand what I was looking for, so I had to enter something that didn't fit, just to move forward.
I kept entering things to get further, because it resend you to the beginning if you say "representative." Finally, trying to get information on a local branch, I reached a queue. Automated Voice says, "Would you like to take a survey at the end?" Sure, I want to tell you how useless this is, so I pressed the number. Back to recording telling me all the things I can find on the website. I didn't get a chance to take the survey. After sitting on hold for over twenty minutes, I was disconnected with no explanation. Man, it's a pity I didn't get a chance to take the survey, or have them "record the conversation for training purposes" because I'd love to tell them just how pointless their customer service really is.

My complaint/concern is a bit different. The USPS employee has decided to become involved in a neighborhood dispute. It has me concerned about the delivery of my mail. I purchased a PO box instead but found out that the employee is still placing my mail in the PO box. I went out of town for 5 days and came back to see a letter that should've been in my PO box for a family member that has lived with me & received mail for many years has been sent back stating 'Unable to Forward/For Review'. The correct name and PO box was on this mail and on previous mailings to this family member, but this mail carrier is trouble.
Just a week ago, the mail carrier had parked the mail truck in the middle of the street and I happen to walk to my front door and I was looked at in a manner with 'what are you looking at'. I mean the posturing as if that individual lives in the neighborhood paying taxes, HOA, insurance & a mortgage. The replacement that I do not know but spoke to that person one day and the ugliness that came from that mouth was awful. It is no use speaking to their supervisor - I tried that & although the supervisor is a kind, professional person, there is a union that protects the ignorance of their employees.
This employee should not be in this neighborhood creating havoc. This is a matter that has forced me to pay my bills online & to use the USPS as little as possible. I do not trust my personal information going through a system where there is such ignorance that a USPS employee & their sit-in feels so comfortable and powerful. I never use my neighborhood box to have any mail that I have to send out mailed from this location. I always go out of the neighborhood to make sure these two employees of The USPS do not touch my mail. I am exhausted with the situation and realize that the union will keep the main employee in the neighborhood. I feel that individual has won because I am done with it. I used to like stamps & mail but no longer desire using it. The USPS employees seem to have too much power.

If they want to give a delivery time on their packages, they need to follow through and stop eliminating positions. There should be congressional oversight and if the Postal Service is unable to perform the job correctly, it's time to shut them down and have one of the other carriers take over. If you think that you will be treated with respect by postal employees, think again. As Federal Workers receiving good wages, there should be a system to file a complaint and then track it with a response. Even if you write a letter to the Consumer Advocate in Washington DC. They make no effort to call or respond in writing to your concerns. Your are just another number, you are not considered an important or valued customer.

I've shipped over 500 packages all over the globe this year. Most of them were with USPS. I did have a few issues with some deliveries. Two shipments were lost and I could not do anything about it because the PO never scanned the packages. I sent a package to Italy that took about 2 months to deliver. It went from SC to Miami then to England. It sat in England for a while and then returned to Miami. Once it left Miami it went to NY. From NY it said it was heading back to SC. I called customer support and they said they had no info and to wait until I got the package to see what all the labels and stickers said. I never got it. After a week or so the person in Italy said they got the package.
I had another instance where a package got lost. The local PO said that the last scan was in our county and he would check. He never found it and it was a priority package. I was told to wait 21 days. The person never got the package so I filed a claim and received the funds very fast and reimbursed my customer. 2 weeks later the person got his package. Go figure. Last month I shipped a package to a person in NJ. It was a flat rate envelope with a sealed bubble envelope inside. The person got the envelope on time but it had a sticker on the outside that said the envelope had no contents. It was ripped open. So I guess I can say I'm satisfied with USPS but their "tracking" is a long way off from being dependable.

I don't know how it possibly survived, but it did. The second package (ordered on 9/22/2015 which has yet to arrive, today is 10/3/2015) was sent 10 days ago from Lehigh Valley, PA (near Philly) addressed to me in Pittsburgh, PA. From one end of the state to the other, due west, A to B, very simple, BAM! Job done! Not so... For some enigmatic reason the package went on a little safari from Lehigh Valley, PA to Syracuse, NY, due north to another state. It was received in Syracuse, NY and then re-sent in this direction (all in the same day, kudos on that effort) whereupon that leg of the safari it disappeared for 7 days.
Finally, and exhausted I'm sure, it arrived in Warrendale, PA (22 miles north of PGH) very early yesterday morning. Although the tracking feature claims it's en route to its destination, I am in no way expecting it by even as little as tomorrow which is when I need the item I ordered. I will always seek other shipping avenues when ordering online in the future if possible, even if I have to pay extra. I could have delivered it myself in 2 days on my bicycle.

NOT ONE OF THE CLERKS knows where I should take my mailer. They first send my 20 miles down the road to another post office location and they direct me BACK to the main branch. What a waste of my time. Then, we I get back to the main branch they send me to the WRONG part of the mailing department. I tried to get more help downstairs but everyone looks at me like I'm the one stupid. NOT.
As I'm parked, another post office worker exclaims, "You can't park HERE." "You're blocking the SEMI- trucks!" I was just doing what the clerk told me to do, and then they all get pissed at ME! I finally get to where I was supposed to be but not because of any help from the workers at the Post Office. MY BLOOD PRESSURE and STROKE LEVELS go up every time I go there. I can honestly say that I will never use USPS ever again and would rate my experience even less than one star if possible. I was supposed to have received a package with gifts and MEDICINE inside of it 2 weeks ago. It was 2-day shipping (which we had to pay extra for) with insurance. It's been 2 weeks and I still have not received anything and haven't been refunded. I've called multiple customer service numbers multiple times. The customer service number that they advertise on their website does not give you access to human customer service no matter what choice you select with the automation. I gave up with that and called their tech support number to get through to a human being.
I had to wait on hold 45 min to an hour each time I called. When I did reach a representative, they were very nice but very unhelpful. They kept saying that my label zip code was wrong, or that someone typed it in wrong at the plant, or other very unclear excuses (the label was correct when it was sent). So currently it is looping around some packaging plant and they're going to try to find it, but that there is also no promise that they will find it. I called the packaging plant directly, I offered to come get it or find it myself, but there's really nothing I can do but hope that someone eventually takes it out of its conveyor belt abyss. In the future I will use FedEx or UPS, or a carrier pigeon.

They even told me to go to their second closest location in the neighborhood which is even further away from where I live at just because Grand Ave. is subjected to more equipment issues than the Broadway area.
They had no right to issue that complaint because of the following reasons: They complain their heats out indicating they don't really want to work on boxes in particular & saying they're getting too old for this kind of physical work. I don't understand why can't they switch job titles within USPS that requires less physical work if that's true. I did issue a complaint on their website with a response. I have had several packages delivered to me damaged -- one of them a gift and sent internationally. It was a phone case, which was CLEARLY leaking fluid and visibly cracked. Yet, it was still delivered and not returned to the original sender. The fact that this has been going on so long is infuriating. Yes, I'm aware the USPS is going bankrupt, but there is a reason for it. They cannot provide for the services they render, as their competitors can, and when they do it's always messed up, ruined, or delayed. If I could give a lower score, I would. USPS is nothing more than a disappointment riding on the coattails of those who can actually do their job.

I would have people call and say, "hey did you receive what I sent in the mail?" I most times would think, did they even mail it? It wasn't until it continued to happen... is when I noticed. I complained. The front clerk did all she could. This year my packages started growing legs after they left the post office. So yes I'm angry. One package was in a neighbor's box for two weeks... the post office didn't know anything! (Lucky he returned it to me.) The next package was put into another building's mailbox. Mind you the numbers are nowhere similar. So that's almost $20 gone!
The post office refused to be responsible even though they knew what box they placed it in. This last package was mailed from a popular Eyeglass center out of town. So the post office once again refused to be held accountable. My question is when are they accountable? It's obviously something going wrong... and they know this. When I order something that ships FedEx or UPS, I know that I can count on real-time updates, and I know that the arrival date is accurate. The USPS doesn't deliver to our house because we have a dog. It doesn't matter that the dog is locked in the house because she barks when someone enters the yard. This scares the carrier who then refuses to deliver our packages because she is afraid of the dog. We have complained many times to the indifferent management in Redmond but they say there is nothing they can do since the union rules do say that she does not have to deliver to a house if she is afraid of the dog. They also prevent transferring the carries to a different route to solve the problem.
This carrier isn't even honest about it. Sometimes the note she leaves will say that she couldn't leave the package because it required a signature and no one was home (we were) or there was no secure place to leave it. But most often it just says Dog. Several of these times the dog wasn't even there. We had taken her to the Marymoor Dog park. When we explained this to the USPS supervisor the response was that perhaps she had heard barking from some other dog in the neighborhood. USPS doesn't care so we are now trying to get Amazon to stop using USPS for delivery at least to our house.

Beware of mailing heavy items through USPS, especially if it's close or over 30 lbs. I sent 3 packages, in which 2 packages were lost. They stated that the label came off, which means they still have the item in their possessions, as they were able to send me back the label I had attached. My packages were full of books that had sentimental values to me, AND had my last name were scribbled on most of them. Unfortunately I don't know if they really cared to looked for them, but never again would I send packages, and pay close to $50 each of media mail and lose the items. Also noted that the 3rd box that arrived was squished to the point that it was 1/2 the size that I remembered mailing it. I would NEVER again trust USPS with my packages.

I just received a priority box that was empty and looked like it had been involved in an aviation disaster. Who in their right mind would deliver a box that was not only destroyed but empty of any contents? There is a hole big enough to shove a bowling ball through. That's not the worst of it, I tried for two hours to contact a human to file a complaint but the whole system leads in a big circle back to where you started, so I tried their website and that keeps disconnecting or says it's down. Just your typical government run ** factory. I would have better luck contacting an extraterrestrial than an actual human at the post office. Oh the good news is rates are going up again to pay for the millions of people who collect retirement checks from a system that works like a third world donkey delivery system.

My package had been delivered to a wrong address in CA so I tried to call USPS Consumers Affairs but the problem was nobody answered the phone. I left 4-5 voice mail I never received calling back during a few days. I called them again then someone finally picked the phone up and she asked me detail of the package so I answered all the question what she asked. However, the real problem just began at that time because she was absolutely old, lazy lady that she tried to reach USPS in CA only ONCE per day in spite of I told her the package was a high valuable one. She always just told me like "I have not received any messages from them" during two weeks and she always said "I will call you back tomorrow". However, she never called me back even once before I called her first. I politely request her to reach them more than once per day but she never called me back even once before I called her first.
Moreover, it is extremely difficult to talk with her during a day. It is so funny they have 8-9 multiple phone line to talk with customers but those numbers are absolutely trashes. I decided not to trust USPS consumers affairs in my area anymore then I called USPS CA and talked to delivery supervisor but it took a few days to talk to him. I got the package after that. I do not understand what the heck she did during two weeks. Just eating hamburgers for lunch and get off the work at 4 pm is their routine schedule. They earn easy money without any customer's satisfaction. THEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO SUPPORT CUSTOMERS EFFECTIVELY. If your package had delivered to wrong address, don't even think about returning it back to you. Forgetting about your package will be comfortable. Don't waste your time. I am pretty sure you will get tons of stress if you talk with representatives in USPS consumers affairs.

I moved to Illinois in March 2015. I started noticing that people were sending me things from back east to my new address and I would never receive them. I went to the post office on 2 different occasions when I knew for sure that something should have been delivered but never showed up. The post office official told me that without a tracking number, there is nothing they could do. I've been waiting for legal documents and checks which have never shown up. Items that I have purchased online have also disappeared when sent via USPS.
Finally, last week, I received a FedEx package from an attorney that I work with back east. Inside the FedEx was an envelope that had return to sender labels on it. I peeled back the label and noticed that the address was actually correct. I also discovered that there was a forwarding label under the return to sender label that had an address in a different town that was over 100 miles away from me. I immediately went to the local post office because I've been waiting since mid-June for payments that total in the thousands of dollars.
I discovered, to my horror, that MY mail is being forwarded to the former occupant of my home. The local postmaster said that I needed to contact a delivery supervisor and gave me the number to call. I called and spoke to the delivery supervisor who said he would get back to me. The delivery supervisor actually did call me back. His solution -- put in a change of address with the old address being the address where your mail is being incorrectly routed. "WHAT? You want me to commit postal fraud?" I said. Silence from the delivery supervisor.
Suffice it to say that my checks, my legal documents, and anything else that was sent have been going to someone else and either the recipient has been opening them and doing something with the contents or the post office has all my stuff in a bin somewhere. Regardless, why is the post office sending MY mail to the former occupant of my house? It makes NO sense to me whatever, since the names are not the same.
Even with definitive proof of the USPS' mistakes, I am unable sue the USPS to recover my losses (totaling in the thousands of dollars) because there is a postal exemption in the Fair Trade Act that relieves the postal service of any liability associated with misdirected mail. Basically, the government gives the USPS a pass on actually performing the duties that they are contracted to perform. I was unaware of this fact and I bet many people are also unaware.

I want to preface this by saying I understand my mailbox won't fit a majority of packages. That said, the continued total lack of effort by my mail carrier to even attempt to let me know I have one when I'm actually home is ridiculous. I was home, heard the carrier outside of my door and thought nothing of it, as my package wasn't supposed to be delivered until Thursday, two days from now. No knock, no verbal communication, just a note telling me to pick my package up at the post office. This has happened countless times at my current apartment.

It appears to be a problem for all of Nuevo and we have a Facebook page where it's discussed frequently. On August 19, 2015 I mailed some package (returning electronic media in the original package) to Canada. At the local post office I was told to fill out some small form. Paid the mailing fee and was told to track it using the number on the receipt. Within few days the package seemed to reach the receiver. When I called there, their response was that they never received the package. I called USPS and was told that the package (for some unknown reason) was on its back to New Jersey in USA. I waited for a week, but nothing came. I called USPS again and this time was told that the package was in NJ, never reached my address and was rerouted to New York location for shipment to Canada (again!!!!!!)
All my inquiries (and I was on the phone for almost two hours with FIVE different USPS Customer Service Representatives and Supervisors) had the same unsatisfactory answers: "Do not know." Why the package never reached the receiver in Canada? "Do not know." Why the package never reached the sender (me)? "Do not know." Why the package is being send back to Canada? "Do not know." And on top of that the last person I talked to (his name is Tim, Supervisor of International Department, # **) accused me of fraud, lying and was very rude. But he gave me USPS Consumer Affair Department phone number in NJ. Useless, if you ask me. I called there, got answering service, left my message and still waiting for them to call me (over a week). Does anybody have any idea what I can do to resolve my issue?

I filled out a change of address request on the 21st of August to be proactive for my future move. It has you pick a date for when you want it to go into effect. And it clearly states on my confirmation that it is not to go into effect until September 16th. USPS has ignored this, and they are currently sending my important packages and my mail too early to a place I have not moved yet. Why let me decide when it goes into effect if you are just going to ignore it? I am so upset. I am actually currently trying to get it resolved. I have been on hold for over an hour. I have a feeling that I am going to be on hold until 5 pm when they close and will force me to call back for a third day.
Yes. I have been trying for two days to have this resolved. And so far no one has helped me. I absolutely hate using USPS for my mail because they make mistakes all the time particularly when it comes to packages (when it comes to mail it's not so bad, but I'm sure other people have horror stories). Most of the time when I order something I am not given a choice for the carrier, otherwise I would try to choose a different one. This is another of these occasions, and today it is the last straw. I am so fed up with all of this. So I guess the lesson here for other people is to not fill out a change of address request until the day you actually move because if you do it too early they will not honor that request.
Update: I called today at 3:07 and hung up at 4:59 pm. Yes. They forgot about me. I was on hold for 1 hour, 49 minutes, and 42 seconds before I finally hung up. I did decide to call back since they do not close until 5 pm. It was one minute before closing. I was so upset that I did not care. Luckily, they did pick up. Hopefully, with the conversation I just had they will fix my problems, but we will see.

Saw the yellow forward with my name, etc. and wasn't impressed so I called them, was told, "Yes, you both filled out the your cards right." They have no idea how that happened...
Now a month later the lady who moved into my old place since contacted landlord and said she is receiving my student loan mail, health care mail?? And others?? I contacted student loan people but still, I call PO. She first says, "Computer error not carrier, they do the forwarding, and maybe your name was different on envelope," etc. So I waited, got the mail only to find it wasn't junk mail, etc.
Called back to hear, "Oh, it must of been the carrier." I said, "Wait, you said it was computer." Well she says sometimes they miss stuff? It was typed? Give me a break... Ooh it was a sub too on that route that's why. The excuses are endless and who do you complain to? They change my forward to wrong address and then still can't forward it when they say it's done properly. I keep thinking who else didn't I notify that might be important of my move?? Ridiculous.

I recently became aware that our apartment manager has been going through everyone's mail so he can get their names to do warrant checks. See if they have any outstanding warrants. I reported this to my local post office only to be referred to local police. Local police at first refused to file a report. They said it was legal for this individual to go through everyone's mail as long as he wasn't stealing or opening it.
After refusing to take no for an answer they started treating me like a criminal then filed a report but not criminal. I never write reviews but the experience was so bad that I have to say something. I've used the U.S. Postal Service twice this year. The experience was so awful that I can't even put it to words. Part of the first package was missing. Although the box was ripped apart and even stamped, "received in damaged condition," I had to make three separate appeals after they denied my claim each time. After writing letters, being on hold, and getting the run around from March until July, I finally received a check in the mail. It was the most frustrating experience of my life. I spent hours on hold. It was impossible to get through to anyone. There is absolutely no accountability. If you think that's bad, I wish I could say how I really feel.
At the end of the day, I'm sure my review doesn't amount to much, but given the opportunity, I would burn the USPS to the ground. Complete disregard for others' property! The worst service you could possibly imagine! The systems they use are inherently flawed. To top it all off they completely destroyed my sister's original drawing from her first year at the University of Miami's architectural program. The tube that the drawing was in arrived with the end-caps missing. It was smushed and the drawing was in very rough shape. I'm 2 for 2 now and I can't keep my mouth shut about this anymore. Again, this was a REGISTERED package. I contacted USPS at least four separate times, trying to get an update on what happened to the package. The level of incompetence was astonishing, and they NEVER responded to me with status via email as I requested. They just closed the case. Farmingdale is 15 miles from my home and it has now taken over 4 days to go the last 15 miles.
This is typical. I mailed a package from Huntington NY recently and it took 3 days before it was scanned into the USPS Bethpage facility. 3 days to go 10 miles. And even though I have the USPS tracking number now it says not available to track online. I have to call the post office which I did and a recording told me they would call me back. The supervisor at the local Post office on 100 Church basically accused me of lying and hung up on me without any provocation on my part. The manager there has refused to take my call. My law practice of 32 years is being irreparably damaged, and I do not have any recourse. Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. Please help.

I contacted the post office after getting out of the hospital and they assured me mail delivery would resume. Well here I am over a year later and still getting packages and mail returned to sender. I've spoke with the office 3 times and this last time with the post master and my bank informed me yet again today that my debit card was returned to sender again. I'm afraid to buy anything online for fear of it getting returned or coming up missing. Sad. :(

There is no such thing as "tracking" or customer service when it comes to USPS. You can keep on entering your tracking number on USPS website or calling or dropping by USPS offices. If you reach a live person, you get the same "don't know, don't care." It has been two weeks for a one week estimated delivery date and I am not holding any hope that I will ever find out what happened to the package.

In Jan 2015 my small dogs barked at my USPS Carrier. In April 2015 after not receiving mail for approximately 2 weeks, and upon word of a family member who had my letter returned as "Undeliverable," I began calling the Post Office. Unable to get through to the local office for over an hour I then began calling the 1-800 USPS Main number. Upon waiting 45 minutes I spoke with a Customer Service Rep who typed out a inquiry/complaint, forwarding it to my local office. The following morning, a letter was hand-delivered to my door telling me move my mail box to the street, or get a PO box, or not receive mail.
I am disabled, quite ill, spent 10 months out of the last 3 years in the hospital. Been robbed several times. My mail stolen from the mailbox, of which includes 2 Social Security checks. I've made several calls to refute their action however no response to-date. I pray for resolution before this creates more hardship or worse yet, havoc that would result say if any SSI correspondence was returned, would cause my income to cease. As I now fear being penalized for my dog licencing of which I should have received notice for. I feel the USPS is unprofessional, inconsistent, and in my case, acted in a ridiculous manner, of which seems unconstitutional and somewhat unlawful.

The US Postal service used to be honest years ago but nowadays it whatever they can steal from you and they don't care. They will make any excuse they can and what you should do is call the police in the area where you mailed the box and report it as a mail theft within the postal service. I seriously think if enough of us got together and started complaining about the postal service and their stealing, that maybe something would be done about it.
They stole a very expensive crimp tool from me last year and that is bs. I reported it to the FEDS. BTW make sure you all don't send any money in birthday cards to anyone. Consistently, when my father mails packages to me from the small town we are from in the south, I receive an empty box, or I do not receive the box at all. Regarding the last box he mailed me the purchased insurance (as he does on all packages he sends me). I submitted a claim against the loss. I have gotten the run around ever since. Initially, I phoned looking for the package. I received 2 different locations regarding where the package was lost. I inquired about filing a claim. I was told they have to mail me a form versus me going online to print one out and mail it in.
After not receiving it 2 months later, I followed-up calling back. I waited still yet another month for the form. After receiving it, I completed it and mailed it to the respective address. My claim was disapproved based on the fact that I didn't send it in within 30 days of my FIRST phone call to them. I had to prove to them (via my phone records) of my initial call after which they in turn disapproved the claim based on the fact that I didn't include the original receipt for the product for which they lost. When I provided them comparable proof of the product's cost, the final disapproval came from the main U.S. Postal Claims Office in Washington, DC informing me that my claim would now be disapproved based on the fact that I didn't provide them with the receipt of my insurance purchase. I would no longer be able to resubmit the claim for further review.
They continuously denied my claim based on new explanation every time I provided them with what they were asking. These were items that were not asked for previously until the NEXT disapproval for which I kept providing them with the NEW item they were now asking for. I served this country for over 35 years. I would like for them to actually DELIVER my PACKAGES (versus 'stealing' or 'losing' them), or make good on the insurance the people pay for to actually have a package insured in the event it gets 'LOST.' Many people have complaints about these same events. Any advice. Something needs to be done about these dirty practices...

Called at 12:49. Complaint in reference to Employee misconduct/Customer service issues. Tracking Number# **. I contacted USPS in reference to a lost package, which even with the tracking number which is assigned to the package, your agents have NO IDEA where it is. What is the purpose of a Tracking Number if you can't TRACK IT? This is horrible customer service. But I contacted your hotline waited 28 mins, even though the estimated wait time is 12-18 mins. 28 mins. So finally got in-touch with a customer service agent, Demetrius who gave me his information properly, advised that they had NO IDEA where the package was, even with the tracking number. That it doesn't arrive by tomorrow to call. That's where I was disturbed, you have no idea where it is but call tomorrow??
This is where I wanted to talk to a Supervisor because if your company has no idea where it is, and you tell me just call tomorrow, this has become the start to BAD SERVICE!!! So I waited another 8 mins for a Supervisor to get on the phone, after which she answered "Hello." No this is Cor'ela ID ** and I'm the supervisor. Nope just "Hello." And waiting for me to answer. This is another step into Horrible customer service; it went from bad to horrible. So I had to finally say Hello my name is Patrick and you're a supervisor? "Yes my name is Cor'ela." So I re-asked because I wanted to make sure because I'm documenting this whole conversation.
I said, "Yes maam. Ok. I'm calling in about a package that you guys don't know where it is," and before I could finish my statement, she starts railroading me. We spend 3 mins with me saying, "Maam maam maam, maam can I say something?" She would NOT let me talk, as if she was going to try and bully me off the phone. Every chance I got to speak she would interject before I could finish a sentence, and railroad me. When I finally got to ask my question, she said "they just never keyed in the package."
So we finally get an answer why it wasn't found - your processing personnel did NOT key in my package. "So it's nowhere?" Then again she would be Combative and Cut me off, trying to play semantics with a Car vs a piece of mail, saying If I would have paid for a higher class service it would be taken care of better. Seriously? Whether a person buys a Prius, or an Expensive Tacoma they come in for service or call us, we still give them the SAME Service, are you seriously going to be competitive on that?
So my complaints are:- You have NO idea where my package to my customer has gone.
- Customer service is absolutely appalling.
- Now, I'm having to send out another part because you guys never keyed it in, so we are losing money. So thank you, for the bad Service in a whole. This Section of the company will not be using your services any longer!!

USPS 33155, my complaints are numerous and range from "out for delivery" that get delivered two or three days later to "stolen" mail to having to put up with carriers screaming at my wife and I in a very hostile manner while her supervisor stood by and did nothing. My last complain is about a package scanned as delivered that wasn't. When I asked the carrier she claimed she delivered it and my "poodle was outside". I don't have a poodle.. It's a Bichon and she was inside so either the carrier is hallucinating or she got the wrong house.
It used to be they used house numbers, addresses to deliver mail not what kind of dog one has... The carrier called my wife and liars and insisted the dog was out. My security camera disagrees. Have similar problems? Contact USPS Consumer & Government Affairs Office in Washington because calling USPS Customer Service won't do much good even though you have to wait on hold forever to speak to them.
UPDATED ON 09/24/2015: After my wife and I were called liars by Maria **, USPS 33155 carrier **, in front of her supervisor who said nothing, and another station clerk threatening to call the police even though we behaved very courteously and professionally, the package showed up in my mailbox THREE DAYS after the mail lady said she delivered it and scanned it as DELIVERED... Who is the liar then? Ms. ** is still employed by USPS and still doing our route...
BTW, even though USPS is an independent government agency it is still staffed by CIVIL SERVANTS according to the very law that reorganized them in 1970. So if anybody at USPS tells you that you aren't their boss as we were told by Ms. **, they're wrong! May 1st 2015 - I was in San Diego, Calif. and I mailed a priority mail box to myself in Maryland (I was going on a trip to China and couldn't take items with me that I had acquired on my visit to Calif.). Cost to mail including additional insurance was over $60. I arrived home June 8th - found "my" box in complete shambles. The original box I had mailed was replaced with a different box and the top of my original box was taped to the "new" box.
All of my contents had either been seriously damaged or gone missing. Example: solid brass platter was bent in half, brass candle stick holders were broken at the welding, glass vase - only a small piece of it remained, brass cricket house damaged beyond recognition, brass tea set from India with inlaid stones - half of the set was missing as well as a mini set gone... Norwegian Troll antique was a mess - all original tags missing, vintage camera missing.. the list continues, but you get the. I filed my claim online with USPS, took pictures, etc. I received a letter telling me to take it to my Lex. Park post office, I turned it in on June 22 and was told they'd look at it and I would need to pick it back up in 1 - 2 weeks.
I heard nothing from them and called USPS - I was then told I hadn't submitted proof of postage insurance (I bought it from USPS but I had to provide them the proof?). So I made a copy of it as well as printed out any info. to prove value of my antiques - some of these had been in the family for 30+ years and went to the local post office on July 9th and turned everything I had to them. They now had everything, proof of insurance, my box with all the contents I had received, proof of value from research from various online places, etc. I then had to leave town on July 16 having no info from them. I receive notice that my claim has been denied due to my not providing info. within the time frame (I had done everything). There was no communication from them at any time saying things were not correct, etc...
There seems to be no communication between their claims department and the local branches. This is the second time I have had to file a claim. Last time it was denied but I did not pursue it because it was only a $20 value. The item was lost and when I sent an inquiry they told me to wait 2 more weeks, I did and when I filed a claim they told me I was outside the time limit (even though I had emails from them showing my first inquiry about a claim was within the time frame). I am out of town and now unable to resend copies, etc. within the appeals timeframe.

Both times the mail person sped away, leaving that pink slip, and NO package. Isn't their job to deliver packages as well as letters? Very frustrated. It's Saturday. If they'd marked my tracking "available for pick-up" initially, I'd of done so. They changed the status literally 5 minutes prior to the mail carrier stopping at the box to put the pink slip in.
Now it's long after the Post Office is closed and my birthday gift needed for tomorrow will sit in the Post Office until Monday. Number one, it's mail and an attempt to deliver it should be made!! Number two, if you're too lazy to honk your horn for delivery, then at least update the tracking information correctly. I've now lived on 3 different islands and this is the first time the mail carrier is too lazy to deliver packages. I have to rant about our chowchilla post office. It all started a month ago. I was getting none of my mail however I was getting other peoples mail. Same numbers but different street or sometimes same street different number, so I went down to the post office and told them that I hadn't been getting any of my own mail only other peoples mail. They said "sorry we are short handed. That the lady that delivered the mail was a sub from Dos Palos." So I asked "Is there a way to find out if someone else has been receiving my mail?" They said "no you haven't been getting any." I thought wow that's weird. How would they know that just by standing here talking to me and I always get junk mail?
So anyway the next day same thing someone else's mail but this time along with my own. So I took that mail back to the post office and said it happened again and they said "sorry this time it's a different guy delivering." (My thoughts "and"). The guy in the office told me to talk to the post master. So I did and she was nice and apologized. Well so I was going to go on vacation so I thought since I'm here I will have them hold my mail till I return. So I wrote on a form the day I needed my mail held which was about a week out. Well wouldn't you know it. The next day no mail so I went down to the post office and they again apologized and gave an excuse that the postman was suppose to deliver it but he didn't read the note of the hold date.
So when I get back from my vacation went straight down to post office, got the mail that they held (good job for getting that right). I then told the lady "I am back so please start delivering to the house." She wrote it down and you guessed it her little note never made it to the postman so the mail was still being held. So which brings me to present time. I go down there to ask if they had my mail they said yes and sorry. So he hands me my mail, I go home start to look at it and it's someone else's mail.
At this point I am upset. So I go back down there waited awhile because no one was watching the front. All I can here is laughing, joking and what sounded like a TV on in the back. A man finally came to the front. I handed the mail to the man and said "I can't believe you guys handed me someone else mail." Talking to the postmaster was a waste of breath. tampering with someone else's mail is a federal offense and I can't believe this post office is so willy nilly about it. It's scary. Way too often the predicted delivery date is incorrect, or there are multiple missed scans in the package's journey. Why? Why are these employees so bad at their jobs? Is this a poor training issue? Equipment? Management? While on occasion other shippers will have an issue hitting the estimated delivery date, I'd say 9 out of 10 times it is dead on accurate. I can deal with the date issue more than the miss scans that leave your package location a mystery. USPS has gotten slow, and very unreliable. I really hope one of the competing carriers finds a way to compete cost wise and takes the business away from USPS.

I ordered the package on 16th July, package arrived 28th July in the morning, but on the USPS tracking website, my tracking suddenly disappeared, good that someone was at home to receive the package. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive, but it finally arrived. It took more time to leave the US than it took to arrive from the UK to my country.
Sad that the package was faster in Europe than in the US. Therefore from a 1 star, I rate it to a 4 star, since it was an International letter that should have come earlier. I would propose USPS to work with UPS in Europe, this would be better for them.

Been waiting at least over two weeks and paid for a shipment that should take max up to 3 days... Paying for nothing. With USPS, it's better to pray to get your package.

I have not once received a package from USPS, not that I get them late, I don't get them at all. Every time I’m forced to use them I use priority 3-day mail and still, after paying extra, I still have to go to the office and put up with the insanely rude employees and argue to get my own mail. I would advise using literally any other shipping option when possible.

Everytime USPS misses their delivery date, they should have to refund your shipping 100%. Honestly I'm so sick and tired of the mail system failing every time. And instead of fixing it they blow you off. Hopefully one day the USPS gets shut down, and allow ups and FedEx to do the job. I guess it is true... anything ran by the government is worthless. I was supposed to have a package delivered today... but lo and behold it's somewhere in Texas? Or hell, it might even be in new York for all I know... (I'm Midwestern US). Seriously a pathetic and lousy excuse of a "business". Every single time I order something, and have to have it shipped via USPS it gets messed up, lost, late, or damaged. Yet they tell you "nothing I can do about it".

Why do the clerks have such bad attitudes? I am having problems with the mail person giving my mail to the house next to mine! So I went to ask what I could do about it and the person at the counter has an attitude and makes me feel like I am crap! These people I thought are there to help if I have a problem and make me wait without getting someone to help me! After a while I just left. I was talking to my coworker and he told me I can go online and try to get this fixed so here I am with my unhappiness with the over paid postal clerks who are rude! Thank you.
