Online on the USPS website - I ordered a priority mail 2 day service and insured the package for $600.00. I did NOT request signature service. This package was sent 06/17/15 to be delivered 06/19/15 in Providence from California. It was not delivered & no notice was left at recipients address - although the website said it was. The website also showed signature service on my package which I did not request. The package was requested (online) to be re-delivered for 06/22/15 at front door & website confirmed new delivery info & date. It was NOT delivered 06/22/15. I called 06/23/15 Post Office on Corliss Street in Providence. They tracked it down to a pickup station on Thayer Street in Providence.
The redelivery notice (which was not left at recipients address) was noted by Post Office that it was erroneously dated 09/19/15 not 06/19/15. They said it would be delivered that day 06/23/15 or 06/24/14. It was NOT delivered either day. It is still not delivered today 06/25/14. I called Corliss Street Providence P.O. 3x's but nobody picked up the phone. (I let it ring at least 20x's per call.) I paid over $20.00 for priority mail plus insurance without signature. Now a week later it is still not delivered. Why does USPS add 'signature' service when it was not requested? What do I do now? I don't know if the package is now lost. Please help. Thank you.

Very very upset. Tracking said my item was out for delivery, never received it and it says tracking "not updated." I swear USPS is the worst. I bet they wouldn't like it happened to them.

I've noticed that whenever I'm expecting a delivery from USPS and I check the tracking #. They usually give a 5-day window of when to expect delivery. From my past experiences, the package is always delivered at the last minute of the last day of that delivery window. I honestly don't know why they just don't set that date as an expected delivery date. I believe FedEx or UPS are much better options. I will never choose USPS as a carrier unless there are no other alternatives.

Last month, I got an email from a company from which I ordered something online, telling me that my package had been delivered by USPS. I couldn't find the package in any of the normal places, i.e. doorways, garage, mailbox. I called the post office in my town and the postmaster told me that it was my word against theirs, that the package hadn't been delivered. I told him to have the postal carrier call me to tell me where she left the package. Several hours later, she told me that she left it in my mailbox, which I had already checked prior to calling the postmaster.
Looks like USPS has some sort of obligation to the shipper to deliver in a timely way, and figured that it just makes sense to lie to the shipper about the delivery. Yesterday, there was a notice in my mailbox stating that a package they agreed to ship was too heavy for them to deliver, so now I have to go to the post office and pick it up. I'm calling the shipper today to tell them that until they go back to shipping through UPS, I'm no longer buying from them

I've honestly never been this disappointed with a business. I spent $33.00 to mail a package 6X18X36 via three day mail, insured. After 15 days I opened a claim and refunded the customer their $500.00. 3 days later the customer has the package - 18 days after I sent it. What's worse is he's already bought something else and now doesn't even need what I sold him. So I'm out the sale, the shipping, the insurance, and countless calls to postmasters and shipping hubs, and the time registering at USPS just so I could fill out the stupid claim form at USPS. Hate is a strong word, but I really hate this program.

I recently put my trust in USPS to return a package I was returning for a refund. It never was received. The tracking number says it is still at Post Office. USPS told me I'm responsible for trusting them since I didn't pay insurance for TRUST.

I received a vintage paper-back book in warped condition; it appears that a mail handler or carrier forcibly bent it in half around a couple of flimsy pieces of letter mail. The odd thing about it is that the package was clearly marked by the seller as having a book inside, and the book is stiffer and thicker than a magazine. So somebody had to work kind of hard to even get it to wrap around those two measly little letters! Given that the situation reeked of carelessness, I decided to call the 1-800-ASK-USPS to report the situation. Years ago, whenever I would have a question or concern about mail, I would call the 800 number and would receive fast, courteous service and almost always my questions could be answered by the telephone agents.
So, I made several telephone calls to the 800 number to ask about postal policy. I called at least 7 times over the course of 2 days, and not once was I connected to a live operator! The voice-automated queue for selections is extremely limited and confusing. There is no longer any means to directly request help from a live operator. Each time I have called, the system has automatically disconnected the call - either immediately after playing the recorded message that customer service is not available at this time, a message about 'high call volume,' or a sound that leads one to believe that a connection to an agent is being made, but after several minutes of silence, the call disconnects.
The e-customer care system doesn't really give customers a facile way to share dissatisfaction with the agency's performance. When you choose "complaint" from the drop down menu, the system button for 'go back' appears, and then there's not anyway to give feedback. Given how the e-customer service web pages are set, and how the automated telephone system is now operating, it appears that the postal service is disingenuous in its assertion that it is committed to providing good customer service. There appears to be an overt strategy to block negative customer feedback and to give customers the proverbial "run-around.' Further evidence of the run-around is the website message urging customers to use the toll-free number and vice-versa.
I realize that the agency is under quite a bit of scrutiny given the unattractive appraisal of the agency's level of customer service as disclosed in the Inspector's semi-annual report. However, the way to genuinely improve customer service is to engage in honest, open dialogue, and to encourage legitimate feedback. Dodging customers by phone and by website is not an acceptable strategy.
I did, however, receive an email response from an unidentified person at the USPS, and I have to give them credit for the fact that at least a couple of lines of text in their response did not seem to be auto-generated. It did appear that someone actually read my e-message, and probably did look into the matter, because now, rather than having improved mail delivery, it is worse. It seems that someone may not be happy about my report, because once again, I received damaged mail that appears to have been caused by carelessness (or as the result of retaliation).
Please understand that I feel grateful for the countless postal workers who make residential mail delivery possible six days a week; overall my experiences with agency staff are positive and uplifting. I do understand that when millions of pieces of mail are machine-handled, that errors and damage in handling do occur. But the kinds of damage that have been occurring to my mail indicate the kind of problem that can't be explained away by just citing the how many millions of pieces of mail that the USPS handles in a year. As citizens of the United States and residential mail customers, we deserve much better. For the next election, I'll be looking at where candidates stand on improving the postal service.

This is regarding the actions of ** in the incident that occurred, I believe it was Friday, June 12, 2015. I had an unpleasant encounter with Mr. ** when I was told to go to another door to pick up a package. As I approached the door another lady was already waiting and said she had knocked and rung the bell many times and no response. Within minutes someone showed up and asked her what she needed and I had mentioned I was also there to pick up a package. As I handed him my slip he YANKED it from my hands, leaving me with a small paper cut, and immediately shut the door. I said to the other gal that was waiting, "Did that really just happen?" and she was just as surprised as I was.
When he returned to the door with my package, an older Asian woman was pushing a cart behind him and he lashed out at her viciously!!! I was already taken aback by how he treated this lady and I who were picking up a package but OMG, THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE how he screamed at this lady! He did not speak to her...he yelled at her! He got the attention of everyone who was standing just behind us as well. I of course in the Asian lady's defense said, "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO HER THAT WAY. SHE DID NOTHING TO DESERVE YOUR ATTACK" His reply was, "SHE'S HARD OF HEARING!" He continued to yell at her and I told him what a jerk he was and how dare he speak to anyone like that ever! He didn't care. His only reply was, "IS THAT ALL YOU WANT FROM ME?" and immediately SLAMMED the door.
It's bad enough that we are already dealing with a very nasty delivery gal for my residence whom I've made several complaints about but now going to the Rockwall Post Office I get even worse service picking up a simple package that my mail lady should have come to the door with but didn't. I would like Mr. ** dealt with appropriately, possibly early retirement since he's obviously got serious customer service issues as well as ongoing issues with his co-workers! This man is not fit to work with the public and needs to be removed! If you have any questions for me, please feel free to give me a call. I seriously feel he needs to APOLOGIZE to the little, older Asian lady he aggressively attacked in front of the entire post office! Thank you.

I too have had an experience with the timing of delivery of pkgs sent priority mail. It is unfortunate that the Postal Service is selling a product as a 2-3 day delivery, when indeed, they know they cannot come through with this for the public. This only aggravates and agitates the public. It took 5 days for a priority pkg. to arrive at its destination in Fredericksburg, Va. When the clerk specifically told me it would arrive 3 days later… Can't deliver… Do not say anything!
Having retired from the Postal Service, I have seen as a carrier the issues that the public does not know. Due to government cutbacks, the work force has been cut along with hours of clerks that sort the mail and the delivery trucks that transport the mail from place A to place B. They all have cut off deadlines, and restricted hours. I do not know the exact figure but do know there has been many sorting plants closed to eliminate costs and phasing down the expenses of the PO. Therefore, unfortunately, we the public, are the recipients of the poor service provided.
As far as pkgs. being lost and such delays is totally ridiculous with all the automation that has been installed and millions of dollars spent to give the USPS a better way to serve the public. How can that ever happen, when someone at the top keeps downsizing the workforce. It only means less service instead of better service. Totally redundant! The problem lies within the internal employees, from the level of Postmasters to the Postmaster General, and up through congress! It remains an issue of poor service but still not acceptable!!

I paid 25 dollars to overnight a priority letter from southern California to Gresham, Oregon. The document was time sensitive and was addressed as I was told. The documents were sent but not delivered. The reason they did not deliver the materials is because the mail carrier was confused. The address was for an apartment complex. Because there was not an apartment number they did not deliver. The documents were to be sent to the manager’s office not an apartment. I called the post office and for over an hour no one answered the phone. I called the main number for USPS but, per the answering machine, they were having technical difficulties where they could not hear the calls. This technical issue lasted 2 days. I had to go back to the post office and was explained that the confusion and lack of common sense was the reason my documents were not delivered.
I spoke with the supervisor in the office who was completely incompetent and no help whatsoever. He stated he cleared up the confusion of the address and it would be delivered the next day (today). Today the documents were still not delivered. There was no address for the post office they were holding my documents at so I was forced to call 4 different post offices in that area. The first 3 I called there was no answer. The 4th office gave me the address my documents were at. They explained the only option at this point was to have the receiver go to the post office and pick up the documents. So here we are 2 days later, 25 dollars spent, 5 post office officials who provided the worst customer support I have ever experienced. No documents ever delivered and no refund to be had. Next time I know to FedEx any important documents.

This is what I know about usps. They are severely understaffed, incompetent employees are protected by their union, managers are too busy on their computers and telecoms, newer hired employees get insufficient training or none at all, the clerks computer software is slow and not user friendly, mail carriers are extremely pressed to get done in certain amount of time, there is more time spent sorting and scanning 1 article of mail than necessary, and the list goes on. The usps is not the only company like this, it is all of them. Technology is expensive and convenient, but not efficient. Welcome to earth!

This is not a one-time incident. In the past 6 months, I had maybe 5 paid packages delivered. I had nearly 50 that have not been delivered. In one complaint I made, one of our postal supervisors actually accused me of asking for special privileges wanting my package delivered to my door. As it is, we are the only house that doesn't get delivered to the door. I heard more than 20 excuses from them so far and am still counting. The postal service is a fraud operation. Imagine being in business, getting paid for a service, then taking the money and run and knowing you ripped off a person that has no rights of recovering the money lost. And the owner has no responsibility to render what was paid for so they are free to do it again and again. That's the U.S. Postal Service.

I have been buying and selling on eBay for over 2 years now and also get all the monthly subscription boxes and have always received a lot of packages, nothing majorly big, sometimes they would have to leave it on the porch which was fine. Well we got a new mailman, some young guy, obviously lazy and hates his job, at first I would get my packages like normal, then he started driving in the alley (my house sits where most people's backyards are in the alley) and literally throwing them out of the truck into the alley beside my house. I've witnessed it along with neighbors, boyfriend, my children, and my neighbor's surveillance cameras. I mostly buy Makeup etc. that is easily broken, he has been seen literally shoving small packages into my mailbox that they rip/break open. Called supervisor and post master, that stopped, for a while.
Now his new thing is to "Return to Sender" for all kinds of bogus reasons, non-deliverable address, moved, the one that got me was addressed for my teenage daughter c/o then my name, he sent back as both parties are deceased. I went to the post office on this one, why is it the supervisor and/or post master are never available when you're there? I was very upset about this, as was my LIVING daughter standing next to me.
I went home and called and wouldn't you know, they are available now, post master saying I must be mistaken, no-one in their office would do such a thing. Really? Because it was an X-box game I purchased from eBay and the person I got it from resent it with the original envelope, with "**'s" Initials on it, which happens to be the mailman. I tried talking to him and he laughs about it and is very rude, very childish. How did he get this job? Mommy must work there or something, I don't know what to do. A lot of the places won't reship items, I lose so much money. I'm stuck with a ** mailman. Isn't there a law against this? Isn't that a federal crime?

It seems like their front desk employees have no sense in simple problem solving. If a 3rd vendor purchase first class labeling for you they don't provide tape and/or a labeling cover to slip your labeling in; and I'm providing my own box to simply reuse. What baffles me is this individual gave me a run down on how it works and it sounded like this: "If you get this, we don't do that... If you get that..." Yup definitely went in one ear and out the other. What's the point of customer service if they sound like policy makers and strict enforcers? If your job is to make it harder for the customer and not provide a solution maybe the job title should change.

I sent a airplane transponder to a FAA certified radio shop. Packed as required. The box was damaged. I filed a claim. I sent pictures of the box damage, radio damage estimates for the repair, copies of the receipts and the insurance, sent copies of the value of the radio if you had to go and buy one. First it was just rejected. I then sent all of the same information to contest the rejection to St Lo. MO. It was rejected and the form letter said that I didn't show a receipt of purchase, or one of the transaction to buy it to show that what I paid for it and the value.
Buying an airplane is like buying a car, the radio is in it and you don't get a receipt just for the radio. The FAA makes you have these radios, transponders certified ever so many hours of operation, not that they have a problem, but checked out for proper operation. My local PO wouldn't even help with the claim, they just washed their hands off it. I can't get to a live person to show that you don't get a receipt just for the radio when it comes with the plane. The transponder has a value of $800 to $900. I insured it for $700 and the damage repair was a $404 estimate. What can I do from here, now?

In a nutshell, I shipped my package in Tacoma. It took 6 days for the package to reach Federal Way. 12 Days have passed and the tracking still shows that it is still in Federal Way. ** was incredibly rude, dismissive, and seemed like she had no interest or even desire to be even working at that job. Several years ago, I went with online banking with my bank, so as to cut out the inept Post Office. Prior to this I would mail a bill to the company and at least once or twice a quarter that company would never receive the remittance. So imagine how happy I was to cut the incompetent post office out of my delivery of payments. On April 29, 2015 the bank printed a check for my mortgage and mailed it to the mortgage company in Illinois for delivery NLT May 5.
On May 29 I received a hand written envelope from AT&T. I almost threw it away as I have no dealings with AT&T and thought it was an advertisement. But the envelope was addressed by hand and that intrigued me. I opened it up and there was a note advising me the enclosed mortgage check had been delivered to the wrong address. I contacted the bank and asked why a paper check was written and not an electronic payment. I was told my mortgage company did not accept electronic payments and a paper check had to be issued.
On June 2 I went to the post office and asked for them to release me from the $19.99 payment necessary to overnight the mortgage payment to the mortgage company, seeing as how it was the fault of the post office that the delivery was made to the wrong company. A supervisor told me that they could not do that. I advised them that it was through their incompetence that the bill was sent to the wrong address and not mine. And I should not be responsible for the payment. Well guess what?? No deal. Yes it was their fault but I had to pay if I wanted the check delivered overnight, so my credit rating wouldn't take a hit for being over 30 days late for a payment. One of the employees there even asked, "why doesn't the mortgage company have 'electronic' payment capabilities??" I don't know, not in the 21st century yet? I have a better question, "Why the hell can't the Post Office do its job?"

I asked for his supervisor's number and was told "I don't have to give you that". He then closed a blind in my face. His actions were totally disrespectful. I believe he is disconnected with the consumer he is paid to service. I also believe he was able to be that disrespectful to a customer because he has no fear of the repercussions for his actions. Every time my wife and I visit the post office close to our home they are extremely rude and short with us. They never have a clue where are tracked packages are at. When I expect a package, I use the tracking feature. Today, I was expecting a package for my wife for our anniversary. The website said it had been delivered at 12:56 pm (I was home at that time and it wasn't delivered). I rushed home on my break from work and what do you know...it's not anywhere to be found. Even though their website said it had been delivered.
This isn't the first time we have had this same problem. I'm going to go to the office tomorrow to check on it but I guarantee you it will be the same thing as all the other times we have had this issue, they will somehow turn it around and say it is our fault the package is lost. Someone needs to kick their supervisor out of there and whip their butts into shape. My mail can sometimes contain serious matters, or $100's of dollars worth of merchandise and I would expect a little more concern about it. Rather than their usual "I don't care" attitude. I use UPS and FedEx when possible just to avoid dealing with the headache of that place.

We moved our business from Grand Prairie, TX to South Dallas, TX a year ago. I went down to check my mail and was greeted by the rudest mail carrier I have ever met, and I have been using the post office for over 20 years. She told me that if I didn't put a sticker in my mailbox indicating who we are, they won't know we are there. I apologized and told her I had no idea, if I had known, I would have done it weeks prior and that I would take care of it right away. I put the sticker in (large letters, typed up for legibility) and we continued to get other businesses' and people's mail in our box. I complained on the website and was told that I would hear back from someone within 24 hours. That never happened but what did happen was they stopped delivering my payments from customers, returning them to the customers stating that the address was no good.
When I drove across town to pick up the letter, it was addressed perfectly and I believe returned out of spite because I was getting a few bills but zero mailed checks. So, I let it simmer for a while and started getting my mail again. Sort of, I was still getting mail that was not mine and occasionally I was getting my actual mail. A few more months had passed and I complained again. Upon my second complaint, I thought for sure I would receive a call back within the 24 hour time frame stated on the website, but I did not. I got even more spiteful non-deliveries. I complained again about the spiteful deliveries and heard nothing. We have been at our place of business for a year now and I am still getting mail in my box that is not mine. I have several bills that are mailed and I have stopped seeing them. If you complain, you will not be heard and you will get worse service.
I wish they didn't have the "monopoly" on mail delivery, I would drop them so fast and sign up with a new service as soon as it were available. I mean, you have one job, you get lush hours and have a LOT of days off holidays wise, why are you so spiteful about your job, Mr. Postman? Go work somewhere where you are happy and let someone who knows what they are doing deliver the mail from now on. If I would have gotten everything straightened out or been treated with respect, I would have been your favorite delivery. I send all of my vendors courtesy gifts annually for providing stellar service, it helps keep our business relationship viable. More money I make, the better the service I get from my vendors to achieve this, the bigger their gifts. Oh well, enjoy that huge chip on your shoulder, I will avoid the post office at all costs.

Lost mail, bunches of it. Mail delivered to us with a completely different address. No missed delivery notices and often non-delivery of online orders. Mail being returned to us that was properly addressed with the proper postage. Being told that picking up our mail by the mail carrier is a courtesy to us and should not be expected. Setting up a scheduled pickup only for it not to happen on the requested day (over 24 hours advance notice provided) but a day or two later. Valuable catalogs shipped internationally that got lost or discovered mangled upon delivery.
These are only a few of the problems I have experienced at my company over the USPS mail service over the last few years. We cannot rely on our post office to properly handle our bill payments so our staff needs to drive the mail to a different post office and drop it off. I'm currently on minute 32 of my hold time with the United States Postal Service. Two days ago, I received a notice that I have a certified letter. This caused me a lot of anxiety as I am not expecting one. Naturally, I work during the day so I wouldn't be able to pick the letter up for days. Also, our local post office is horribly understaffed, AND has ridiculously long lines that go out the door (I live in a lower income area). So I then requested redelivery. I arranged to work from home on Wednesday, I filed the redelivery request on Monday. I sat and worked from home all day Wednesday and no letter. Well, I thought, I'll just call and find out what happened...
You have no idea what it takes to get out of their automated service. When I finally did by pushing multiple buttons (seriously to me forever) I was put in a hold queue. I was told I would be on hold 15-20 minutes. I am now at 36 minutes. While you are on hold, of course there is a horrible cheesy jingle with a chirpy voice telling you how EASY USPS is and how you can COUNT on USPS. It's only that more enraging to be encouraged to use the service that literally just let you down.
So I am still on hold. I can't figure out if I should try redelivery again and have them deliver it to my office... but will they? This last time I put the request in didn't work. I can't get a human on the phone. There online service provides no avenue for feedback or support. They refer you to the very phone number I'm currently on hold with (now at 38 minutes). Finally got a human being and filed a complaint and had to request a dubious redelivery again. I imagine it will probably not be redelivered so I'll probably have to chase it down this weekend at my post office.

I should call the IRS (this after I told her I called the IRS) and beyond that, there is nothing she can do but I can go to my local USPS and file for a refund. Well, as I told her, thanks for nothing. So, I wonder who has all my personal information that was contained in that letter.

For the past 6 months we've had our mail forwarded while our house is being renovated. The local post office has been called 4 times about problems with delivery & missing packages of 1st class mail. I filed a formal complaint with the Postal Service several months ago & never heard back from anyone. I'm missing several large corporate checks, a credit card was returned to sender.
My daughter's Learner's Permit was returned to the DMV (& the re-ordered one was sent 2 weeks ago & still hasn't shown up) but ironically they did forward the DMV postcard that said the license was returned to sender or we wouldn't have known what happened to it. Some of our other daughter's college acceptance letters (1st class mail) were left at the construction site as well as some of our bills & medical statements & weren't forwarded, & our mortgage papers were lost. Who are these people accountable to??? My next step is going to be my Congressman and a consultation with my attorney.

Up until about a year ago I never had any issues with my mail delivery, for some unknown reason we don't have a regular mail carrier. We never know from one day to the next who will be bringing it or what time of day... I have found my mail in the box early in the morning from the day before, which means it was delivered after we went to bed! I know our former letter carrier still delivers because I have seen him in other areas. The last straw for me was my daughter not getting her birthday card from her aunt with a $200.00 check in it! I have had to make electronic payments on accounts because I never received my invoice.

I have been trying to have a package that was sent to USPS Recovery Center in Atlanta Georgia shipped to me for over two months now! This makes absolutely no sense as your organization and myself both know where my package is. I had this package shipped from Henderson Texas to Houston Texas on March 27th of this year. The address apartment number had an additional 1 on it so instead of being 1232 it showed 11232 and got sent back. I understand that this was an error on our part but since we have figured out the problem and the whereabouts of my package I can't figure out why it isn't being sent to me! The tracking number for the package is **. I have already given a description of what's inside of the package via email and letter to Dead Letter and it's been over a month and I have gotten no response.
I'm out of options as to what I can do to get my things delivered to me. I also have been online reading about other people who have had to deal with these guys and I'm starting to fear that I will never receive my property! Can someone here in Consumer Affairs take a look into this and give me some type of answer as to if and when I will receive my package. It was shipped to ** at ** from **. I really never write any reviews. I'm the type of person that stays away from drama. In this case I had to put my words out there. I'm a makeup presenter (side job) and my orders are shipped with USPS officially. Since day one I was already having issues with my packages arriving to my apartment. I had to pick them up to the post office which I had no problem doing at all, I knew they were safer there. Couple of weeks I placed an orders of mascaras for some customers. I was constantly tracking my order. I even signed up for the USPS text messages, my order had to to arrive a Tuesday "apparently" at least that's what my tracking info said. I was literally waiting in my apartment - no one knock, nothing.
Couple of hours later I received a text message saying package delivered at mailbox. So just for you to have a picture my apartment is in a two story building is like a small plaza with apartments on top and businesses under so there’s a sidewalk and the parking lot in front of my mail box and my box, it's hooked to a concrete wall. I call next day (because the post office was already close about that time) and spoke to a lady named ** very rude an unprofessional had me waiting and said "Oh well she said she left it under your box." I said "Why would she do that, that's literally in the sidewalk. Her job was to knock or if no one answer leave a notice." She answered "That's their job to leave it... Call your sender and tell them it was stolen. They should send you another one." and hanged up!
I was furious I call my sender and told them what happened. They told me they were going to take care of it and send me another package, SO YOU CAN ALREADY IMAGINE MY CUSTOMERS BLOWING UP MY PHONE. My package had to arrived at my home 3 days ago (I had already noted at the post office to not leave them in the sidewalk. They assure me they wouldn't) and so once again I received a text saying package delivered.
I immediately call USPS filed a claim and customer complaint. I called the district… This woman I spoke to was very helpful and was very impressed on how bad this situation was taken care of. The post office supervisor call me apologizing and my package was found - apparently it was send somewhere else… & No lie I just received a call from the ** lady being really nice saying her supervisor was on his way to my place with the package . Yeah thought so!! This is for next time they'll learn how to take things seriously and in a professional way regardless of how bad their day was, never know who they might run across with. In this case I was the wrong person to be taken as a joke! I will call anywhere I have to put people in their place.

The response from the USPS to my complaint is basically, "too bad." One official actually said Animal Control should have sent a reminder notice. This same person said they have no way to track that kind of mail. We have on numerous occasions received mail addressed to the neighbors. I have every reason to believe neighbors receive my mail.
I have requested that notices be placed on the cluster boxes suggesting the proper way to handle mail that was wrongly delivered. The answer was, "No, we need to do our job." Another said, "No, that's not going to happen." I asked who do I go to next to escalate my complaint because I am not satisfied. The person told me Consumer Affairs. Complaint about the Albuquerque, NM postal substation named Manzano on Haines, NE. Ever since the new carrier started work, in our neighborhood we are getting each others' mail and hand-delivering it to each other, I found out a few months ago it wasn't just me. The regular, new carrier is often heard before he is seen because he is on his Bluetooth and not paying attention to work. A week ago I received a mangled, punctured check in a filthy, stomped-looking envelope that took over a week to travel half a dozen blocks.
Today, 5-4, I got a call from my landlord saying she never got the rent he picked up on 4-29, and I had to travel across the city in rush hour to replace it... and while there, she told me that just that morning, another tenant in my neighborhood had to run to her with a crumpled rent check that had been delivered to her neighbor, instead of the landlord across town. When I called the substation and spoke to **, she informed me, as they have before, as if it's an excuse, that they are not civil servants and can behave badly, in so many words... and hung up on me when I told her my landlord had received two different complaints about misdelivered mail in just one day.
The carrier was real spooky in the beginning, and I had to speak to the manager at that time: he would peer through my window and wave at me when delivering mail. Creepy. These people should be honored to have a job that keeps this country moving and informed, but they don't care any more. They are paid very well, with benefits, so I just don't see how they can be so ungrateful. They are lucky they have jobs. Last year, when another rent check disappeared, it arrived at the landlord eight weeks later... postmarked from Carol Springs, Illinois!!! When I call the 800 number to complain about both the problem and the rudeness, I cannot get anything but automated... In fact, I am still on hold after half an hour, listening to recordings while typing here, online. I just keep getting the feeling that this substation is sabotaging our mail, and cannot get through to anyone authorized to take action.
This year I started paying every bill I can safely, quickly, by telephone electronically. That way I am assured of immediate receipt of my payment, and I don't have to buy stamps that cost a lot, I don't have to support their lousy service, and they cannot "lose" it or mangle it for me. But the rent needed a mailed check, and they have done this more than once, and apparently I am not the only one in the neighborhood. They insulate each other by incompetence, lack of response and the hangup, so I cannot climb high enough to get heard.

I received a notice of missed registered mail on 15 April 2015 and called USPS to ask them to drop it in my mailbox even if I don't sign for it. They refused because it was a registered international mail. So we scheduled a redelivery for 20 April and I took the day off from work to receive the package. Two days from then the tracking website showed "delivered on 22 April at 3.30 pm." I called again and after 30 minutes wait, the customer service rep opened a case for me. On 27th April, I got a call saying the package was signed with initials "S G" which is clearly not me. The rep told me it came from India and he will inquire with the carrier driver and get back to me, but I never heard from them. I spoke to the carrier driver myself and she didn't remember delivering the package. After a few days I called again.
After a 20-30 minutes wait and explaining the whole thing again and they raised another case for me and escalated it to the consumer affairs department because it was an international package. I specifically requested that if the package is lost I'd like to get the sender's address from the label or other sources so I could inform the sender to resend the mail. Today I received a call from them and spoke to a rep named **, who simply told me that she has none of the information and can't help me. She said that it was an international regular post, for which USPS doesn't record the sender's information. When I told her that the post was a registered mail and it couldn't be dropped in my mailbox, she said she doesn't know why I was told that or why I was left a notice which is only left in case of a registered mail. She informed me that my previous case was closed and that she was going to close this one as well.
If I needed more help, I should call customer service and open a new case. At this point, I told her sternly to give me some useful information instead of bouncing me back to the customer service, she then threatened to hang up. She did hang up when I told her that I am not satisfied with the service and need my case to remain open until I talk to customer service. I have lost what might be a legal document from India during the process of my VISA filing. I am completely appalled. Do not trust this carrier with anything valuable or important documentation.

The DMV would not allow me to register the car. In the end the car was not returned and stayed in the impound. On April 7, 2015 I received a bill from CBA for $2,785.82, of which $90.82 is for interest. I contacted them immediately. I was really concerned and confused as to why I just found out I owed anything on the car. They suggested I contact the DMV and get the car info (License Plate # & Vin #) because I didn't have that information. The DMV stated they didn't see that I was the owner of that car and suggested it may be due to it pending in "pending registration status".
On April 29, 2015 I received copies of the Notice of Pending Lien Sale For Vehicle Valued $4000 Or Less, Certification of Lien Sale For Vehicle Valued $4000 Or Less, & CBA Account Itemization. The tow company info was listed so I contacted them. They stated that the car came into their possession on 10/27/14. But I was more curious and questioned why I had to find out that I owed them anything from the Creditors. How had it reached the Creditors without reaching me first.
The lady then said that they mailed me the Lien Notice on 11/3/2014. Said I could have been relieved from being responsible by responding to the notice. Suggested I take it up with USPS, I asked how I could prove it. That's when she told me the letter was sent through certified mail. She faxed me the Certified tracking #. On one occasion she got out of her mail van and screamed bloody murder on the street when the dog was 100' away in the backyard. She is calling this incident an attack. We went across the street to get our mail and she laughed in our face.
We have three complaints against us which are far fetched. We have put a fence up and still cannot get mail delivered to the front of the house. She said she will not set foot on our property. Have been told she has closed down 20 other houses on the route from getting mail delivered. Her Supervisor has not even come out to see the hoops we have jumped through to get our mail back.
We will be sharing our neighbor's mail box which we erected on the neighbor's front property. We bought the box so the female carrier would not have to walk toward our backyard where the neighbor's box was next to. On Saturday, 4-25-15 our neighbor went in and signed a paper stating it was OK for our mail to be delivered in her box. We got a note from the female carrier today 4-27-15 stating the neighbor had to sign a paper stating it was OK for our mail to get our mail delivered in her box. Was done Saturday! Come on. The female carrier has taken this whole ordeal personally.
We will not lay down on this. This is not right what the carrier has done and is continually doing. We have until the end of the week to get this resolved or our mail is going to be returned to sender. How can one person have so much influence on how many customers she delivers mail to. She is running USPS out of business. On her days off, other carriers have had no problems until a note was put on our sorting box to not deliver to us. All we want is to have our mail delivered to the house like before. We have done what we have been told to do to get the mail back but the female carrier and her bosses come up with more excuses not to deliver. Thanks for listening. Any help would be appreciated.

In the past month USPS has either lost or re-routed 4 Priority Mail packages sent from Santa Barbara, CA to Basalt, CO. All have been bounced back and forth between Bell Gardens and Denver. Three have finally arrived at the destination, but rather than 3-day delivery, it took more than two weeks, and one of the packages is nowhere to be found. I am aware that Bell Gardens is a source for perhaps thousands of lost, stolen or re-routed mail, but now it seems that Denver is also a problem. FedEx or UPS may cost more, but at lease the packages get through, and on time!

I sent a postal money order for my rent via certified mail. The destination was about 10 miles away. It arrived at the "origin facility" 90052 the same day. On April 15th, I get a 3-Day Pay or Vacate notice on my door from my landlord! Turns out, he never received the money order. I track the certified letter & it had been sitting in that facility for 10 days! I contacted the USPS customer service (an ordeal in itself because they don't make it easy to speak with a live person).
A helpful woman took my info & sent an email to the facility to find out what the holdup was. 4 days later, it arrives at ANOTHER "origin facility" in City of Industry, 91715. 7 days sitting in that facility & still no update! 21 days so far for a letter that was supposed to go 10 miles. I had to buy ANOTHER money order & send it so I wouldn't get evicted. I sent it via certified as well thinking the first one was a fluke. Well, 3 days later, this replacement hasn't made it to its destination yet either!!!
I spoke to Consumer & Industry/Affairs after a major run-around & they said they've been having problems with certified mail being delivered in a timely fashion!!! I asked if they knew this, why didn't they tell people? I paid extra for this service TWICE & it was money thrown away. The post office won't replace a money order until 60 days from the date of purchase...as long as it hasn't been cashed. This is the WORST run business ever! They have lost me as a customer forever. Luckily now many businesses allow people have the option to pay their bills online & bypass the USPS altogether.

USPS is running an insurance scam for online selling. They say that there is "insurance" for up to $50 value on Priority Mail packages. This is what happens if they break your stuff that you've sold on ebay or Amazon: your stuff gets broken. Buyer complains and returns item to you. Now USPS will not refund anything because it's not in original packaging. If the buyer has not returned the item to you but has kept it, it is his responsibility to take it to the post office to prove the damage. There is zero motivation for a buyer to do this out of the goodness of his heart, because you [seller] have to refund the money to him one way or another or get a black mark against you by ebay or Amazon. So you can virtually never collect on an "insured" item broken by USPS that you have sold online. Pretty clever, eh? No disclaimers about this in their marketing.
Bottom line: if you have anything the least bit fragile, ship through UPS or FedEx, knowing you will never collect anything from USPS "insurance" if something goes wrong. I sold a model of a Harley on eBay last year which proceeded to get smashed by USPS and this was my experience. I was lucky that the buyer was patient in getting his refund and didn't blackmark me with eBay. I just lost my beautiful Harley for absolutely nothing but grief and time lost in fixing the mess. You might get something back if you sent something to a friend who is willing to do the legwork for you, but what percentage of items are sent to friends vs. online selling these days?

I am completely dissatisfied with the USPS and their inability to efficiently deliver the mail. When I have gone into the post office to find out why there are so many issues with delivery, no one can explain what is going on. They simply give me a bunch of poor excuses for the lack of efficiency. Most recently we had a packaged mailed out to a client on March 27th received on March 30 (This should be more normal). My client returned the information on April 1st, walked it into the post office and it was received on April 20 after sitting in the palm desert office for at least 3 days. This on top of the post office neglecting to deliver in a timely manner any prepaid postage envelopes. They only come in large groups - completely inefficient. And due to this poor reliability of the USPS I have been left with no alternative but to use an alternative delivery service that I can depend on.

Received an Ebay Package from Germany Saturday April 18th. It arrived severely damaged from the outside and as it showed later, from the inside as well. Antique Bronze, 100 years old, crushed and cracked. Contacted the seller and claimed damage with him first through Ebay. He immediately contacted Deutsche Post (DHL) and claimed damage to them. They replied I needed to present the damage to USPS and file a claim. I called USPS Claims department 1-800-222-1811 (on the phone for 45 minutes, where 30 minutes was waiting in line!) who told me I needed PS forms #2855 and 2856, which all counters at all USPS locations are to be issuing to customers with such claims. I told the lady on the line that I once did not succeed with such with my first USPS claim months ago. She replied all counters need to check their system and according to manual IMM DMI 922.42 must issue such forms to customers.
I then tried to file such claim with USPS 34th street in New York, as my first claim I've had at Church street did not end positive at all, after the supervising manager Mrs. ** refused to accept my package damage presentation to her and issue me such forms. Hoped that USPS 34th street was better. Went to USPS 34th Street today 11:30 am. Stood waiting in line and finally came to counter 10. Clerk wrote down my request and went to supervisor. Clerk came back and told me I needed to file such claim online. I replied "it’s not possible with international claims where I am the receiver". She went back to supervisor again and came back to me stating that I needed to call claims hotline (which I did yesterday, getting all this information). I then asked to speak to the supervisor.
I was asked to counter 12, where parcels were dropped in a big container by customers, to talk to the supervisor, while customers were constantly dropping parcels into the container just next to where we were speaking. She explained to me that no such forms exist, she does not have them, thus she cannot issue them. She presented me with online USPS.com information which I already knew and was not appropriate for me, because it was for domestic claims. She then asked me to call the claims hotline again and re-confirm the information I received, which she said was wrong. I asked for her phone number and name and went off.
I then called the hotline 1-800-222-1811 again (waiting in line 40 minutes, call over all lasted 1:01 hour) and spoke to **. Explained to him the situation and gave him the number Mrs. **, the supervisor gave me before to touch base with her and clarify. Apparently he tried several times, but did not succeed to get her on the line. He explained to me the procedure that I needed to get a Claim number from Deutsche Post delivered to USPS and then USPS would contact me with the form PS 2855 and 2856. I said I can't get a German Claim number if I don't present the damaged package and item within 7 days of receipt. He insisted that this was the procedure.
I then told him that I was living in Germany before and had claims from my American customers which had to file a claim at their end first, before I claimed at my German post office for insurance reason. He said that procedures have been changed couple of times during the past years. It seemed to me that he always doubted my facts and gave me wrong information by intention to prevent me to be able to claim a damage at all. At the end of our call he tried calling Mrs. ** again and came back to me claiming that he was not able to reach... my number, which I gave him before in case the call gets interrupted. I said Mrs. **'s number was the other number. He tried again and came back to me saying that there was never an answering machine (which Mrs. ** claimed there would be) and that that number was the normal customer service number, not Mrs. **'s extension or phone number.
I got furious and told him that I wanted to have that form no matter what within 7 days from Saturday 18th April. He insisted that he needed to have the German Claims number first (which he didn't in the very beginning of our call). All in all I feel that this is standard procedure at USPS to stall customer claims no matter what! I then hung up and went to ask a clerk about the station manager. He sent me to 380 34th Street Building around the corner, where I went and asked for the USPS Station Manager. The security lady went with me to another room, where Mrs. ** was standing talking to a guy the security lady gave an information to, which had nothing to do with me.
She then gave me information about the 1-800-ASK-USPS Program for service excellence and told me there was no Station Manager or person I can personally talk to to file a complaint. By then Mrs. **, curious what I was about to do, had entered the room and watched the scene. When she was asked by the security lady about my concern she replied same old stuff to me that she had already given me before, told me there were no such forms and if the guy on the phone had them he should send them to me. If this is called service and even labeled excellence, I am lost here. Totally frustrated I left and went home, where I started writing this review, as long as it’s fresh! Next step is to try to file a claim on German side and see if the sender succeeds with it better than I did. Seems to me he will go through the same trouble, as he received the same information as I did on his end. No American Damage Claim, no proof of damage!

First time in September 2014 with the negative experience. Asked the postal carrier if I could please walk by him, by saying "Excuse me". I was met with, "Why didn't you just go around?" So filed a complaint. 1 month later, I started receiving mail for multiple names that I have never received in the two years I have been here. When I get a letter from the state addressed to someone else it is not my job to return it. So I leave it in my mailbox and make the writing larger on my name tag on the inside of the box.
I keep receiving mail for different people. I confronted the carrier directly about the mail 1 month ago with my roommate as a witness and he said nothing. Now it's April (7 months later) and their carrier has taken it upon themselves to REMOVE my name tag. When I phoned the local office, they were rude and told me I needed to settle down after they asked me to explain myself and then got upset on their own and told me to just call consumer affairs. It's obvious that there is a huge runaround being given. I wasn't even remotely out of line when I was explaining myself but ** decided to interrupt me anyway because he didn't like when I said that I don't like being forced to use a service so I can be harassed.
Their department hassles people even more after they complain and I understand that there are a lot of crazy customers out there but I have a legitimate complaint and it involves harassment. The case number I was given by USPS is: **. The phone number I was given to call, goes to a dead voice mail box. There were no options to speak with a representative/customer service and I was told repeatedly that my package was delivered but the fact is that it was a returning merchandise and it has 30 days to receive a credit and I can't speak with anyone at the post office, the system will not allow a transfer and if you go to their website you face the same impossibility.
You can only report some kind of fraud. This is the only complaint they accept, so I may lose the price of the merchandise, the merchandise itself plus the cost of shipment and there's absolutely no way to speak with anyone at the Post Office even though they advertise 24/7 support. From that day on I have only received 5 pieces of mail. I am advised that I could not put in a change of address myself because of having a pmb at the ups store and that's why I needs to contact everyone of the change of address.
I go to the post office today since it is the last day and receive two pieces of mail. I open one up since it still had the old address on it and noticed that the post office put a return to sender label on it and cannot be forwarded. Now get this, the piece of mail with the return to sender label on it had the correct mailing address on it. I tried to speak with the post master but told he was not in. I spoke with two other people and was told since there was a old change of address on it (going back to 9/13 it should start to drop off and I should start to get my mail) I said the key word it should. Since I have made the change of address with all the companies I get mail from on March 9 through March 11 I should be getting mail but I am not.
So, end result. Even though I notified every one of the change, the post office is sending my mail back to sender. Oh, this is also happening with my husband’s mail. He has a different last name than mine. This sucks big time. I plan on going back to try and talk to the postmaster at the end of the week when hopefully he should be there. This is sad. Today, Friday April 17th I walked several blocks to the Lenox Hill Post Office on East 69th Street in NYC. I have very little time off and I finally found a moment to get to packages mailed. They were return items & I was not sure what type of package (envelope) that they needed to be mailed in. I put each in what I thought was the correct packaging and affixed the labels before taking them to the post office. I arrived around 3pm to a rather long line in which I ended up waiting over 30 minutes. When I finally was called to one of the windows I walked up and politely said hello, no response from her. I then handed told the clerk ** that I needed stamps & had two packages to mail, but I wasn't sure if they were packaged correctly and if I owed postage on one or both. I handed her the first package and she rudely said that it couldn't be mailed in the package it was in and handed it back to me.
I told her that is why I am here, to find out what I need & mail it correctly. She again rudely repeated herself. I was shocked. I asked her to please assist me and advise me as to how to correctly package the item so I can mail it today. She then pulled out a large envelope and asked did I want to purchase it now. I told that I wanted to purchase the envelope, transfer the items to the envelope and mail it. She then she then rudely told me it would be $2.59 and how was I paying. I told her that I have a second package as well that I may also need another envelope for and I needed stamps. She rudely snatched the other package and said that I need to pay to mail it and handed it back. I asked if I could repackage the one item, pay for it all & mail it now. She said that I could not repackage it there and that I need to pay the $2.59 now if I wanted the envelope.
I asked her if there was scissors and tape anywhere in the post office so I could repackage the item and she said there is not. I then said that I spent 20mins walking down and over 30 mins in line and I would like to mail it while I am here. She said that would be my problem. I asked her to not speak rudely to me & she said she was not rude & that she doesn't have to help me with an unprepared package. I said that I would find a way to repackage the item and then would like to step back over to the window to mail the items without waiting in line another 30+ minutes in line. She then became beyond rude and became argumentative and started yelling at me about how I am jumping to conclusions, she never told me to wait in line and if I wanted the envelope I must pay the $2.59 Now.
I told her that I am the customer, I am there to receive service and assistance & she has no right to be rude to me when I am only trying to get information & clarify what I need to do. She rudely told me that she made 'it' clear. I told her that I am the customer & I am telling her she did not make it clear she told me that I would have to go somewhere & fix the package, she did not tell me that I could then step back to the window when I was done without getting back in line & I needed to know so I could get this done. She said that she made it clear and she was not going to tell me anymore. I was in disbelief that someone with this kind of attitude is paid to work in our postal service. She should not be allowed to work with the public in Any capacity ever! No one under any circumstance should ever be spoken to the way that she spoke to me & no one should ever have a job after speaking to anyone in that manner.
I then went over to one of the packaging stations & manually tore the label off the original package that was incorrect, repackaged my merchandise into the new package that I just bought. I was not going to speak to that angry, rude person with the name tag ** again under any circumstances. I went over to the gentleman who was sort of directing traffic in the post office. His name **--I told him what was going on & he said he is just the opposite of who I dealt with & will take care of everything. He pulled out a plastic mailing pocket and affixed it to my package & put the old label in it & put it to be mailed (that simple). He took me to the self pay kiosk & helped me purchase the postage for the other package as well as get stamps. I was so relieved, a tear actually rolled down my face.
I guess I was so beyond frustration. He was super nice & asked where I was from because of my accent & went out of his way to make my experience better! This was something that was so very simple, the angry rude ** could have simply given me the label to affix my old label in, she could have told me the simple clear things that Mr. ** told me & got the job done. She went out of her way to take out her anger on me (I can only assume that she hates her job---we can only hope that she will find another one--not dealing with the public) and to not assist me with my US Postal needs. I hope that some action is taken based on this complaint. Thank you very much.

Conditions in the (USPS), US post office have deteriorated to the point that long time employees are leaving because of the increased mismanagement and poor employee performance. We have a person friend that worked for the post office for decades in an upper management position and they finally left the post office because they couldn't stand how poor management skills have gotten and work ethics almost non existent.
I read another complaint about a package sent via priority mail that is similar to my complaint. Normally, I don't feel compelled to write a complaint and when I do I generally have sufficient reason to do so. Within the past 3 months I spend a considerable sum of money on two priority deliveries and neither one were delivered anywhere the anticipated delivery time. It is absolutely a scam to suggest that priority mail takes two days, not guaranteed of course, but charge rates that would suggest one is paying for a premium service. I actually think that priority mail takes longer than regular first class.
It won't be long before UPS and Fed Ex take over the delivery markets and institute their version of certified mail for legal notification purposes. Actually that seems all the post office is good for these days, delivering legal notices and accepting tax filings. It probably won't take much longer before online processes all but seal the doom of the post office.
In the meantime, if you're an employee of the postal service, you might want to follow the path of other long term employees that are jumping ship and start job hunting now. Be ahead of the curve or you might find yourself in line with thousands of other former employees looking for a job at the same time. You also run the risk that you are branded as a laggard or incompetent since you were still on board when the ship went down so more than likely you are seen as a contributing factor in the ships sinking. Another way to say the same thing is "you've milked this cow till it's dry".

The package was not deliverable on the weekend and there was some as yet not fully understood error on the address the item was to be sent to. After other attempts the item was returned to the local post office and put into the return system to go back to the sender, seemingly much slower than regular mail. Tracking was only available to me, the consumer, up to the return to the local post office in the city of delivery. That was the last consumer tracking report.
The Post Office of origin was able to internally track the item to the next to the last post office on the return trip and provide scanning information on the label of the returned item of which I have not yet seen as the return is seemingly incessantly delayed. This delivery is of an item that is very critical to me. While the several agents at USPS [800 Number] and at the local USPS where the item was supposed to be delivered from; the earlier information was scarce and I was not able to confirm that my verbal updated addressing information was available to either the post office or the local carrier. Until I [eventually] receive the Priority Mail envelope and see for myself, I cannot completely ascertain the full nature of the error.
What I have so far learned is that I have to push harder for answers that actually are available although this may not return the Priority Mail faster. And the total amount of needed information as to just where the returned item is in the postal delivery system may not be available, even when working with the Post Master who has been as helpful as I think they can be.
The Priority Mail return to sender item was scheduled for return on the 7th of April and as of today the 16th of April, I have not received the returned item. The Tracking information ended on the 7th of April while the last attempts to locate the correct company address were not workable. At the very least it has taken 7-9 days to return this item, where a general piece of mail would make it in no more than three days over the seventy or so miles between the two cities involved. I suggest that USPS could actually make more money by charging an additional fee for a better service to trace or track or re-address and/or return if needed an item being returned to the sender. All other Priority Mails to the same address made it in one day. USPS Receipt Number: **.

I just left because I knew I would have cursed all of them out. Terrible workers. I make more than you. Don't understand why you're laughing.

Last month, I needed to send a very expensive and time-sensitive document to Turkey and I decided to do it through USPS because it was much cheaper than FedEx, UPS etc. When I arrived at Central Square USPS, the lady at the front desk told me that it was not possible for international deliveries to track. I said fine, I trusted them, and I mailed the document to Turkey. 2-3 weeks passed, but my father never received the document I sent. Then, I went to the same USPS store again and the same lady told me to file a claim. However, the system didn't let me do that because I didn't have a tracking number. Then, I sent a complaint email to the USPS, but I got no response. 3 days later, the stupid USPS sent me an evaluation survey for their online services!!! In sum, I had to pay another 90$ to get the same document and sent it with FedEx. It cost me time, money, and plus: I WAS FRUSTRATED ALL THE TIME.
After this, on March 12, I filed my taxes and sent them to the IRS, but the documents are still in transit! Today is the 16th of April! All my attempts to call them or find a way to contact them just failed. Reaching out to Obama would have been easier, believe me! Please, spend a couple of more dollars and mail your stuff using reliable shipping services like FedEx, DHL, UPS etc. USPS IS HIGHLY UNRELIABLE. JUST DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY.

I mailed a package on March 6, 2015 from the Ridgefield, NJ office. Based on the online information it shows that my package made it to the second USPS location in Jersey City, NJ on March 7, 2015. After that, the package has been nowhere to be seen. I have called the USPS about 4 times now and was told they would escalate my case and an investigation would be done and nothing happened. I did not receive a call or any information on the status of my package. Only call I did receive was from the Houston USPS telling me they did not receive my package which was obvious.
While they were "investing" my case, they asked me to return to the post office in which I sent the package and complete some type of form and I would receive a phone call, but still no change nor status update. Today, April 16, 2015 I followed up with another phone call and was told, my case was closed, they attempted to call me twice (which I have never received any calls) and was told all they could do was reopen my case. I think they are very disorganized and unreliable to say the least!

It went to a post office about seven miles from my home, and that office said they sent it back for resorting. According to tracking it never went there. I contacted customer service by email 5 days ago (because I was unable to hold for their wait time), and I never received a response, only a customer satisfaction survey. I was desperately waiting for my ipad which I ordered from ebay. The seller send that in a priority mail and I was tracking time to time to get it. On Saturday, April 04, when I was passing to my apt from outside, I saw the post woman putting my mails in our building. I said "Hi!" and came to my apt. Few minutes later, I went back to check mails but I found nothing except some advertising booklets. USPS says that the package was delivered at front door on that day. How is it possible to lose that item. I went to complain to local post office. They don't accept their fault. I don't know I will get refund from eBay or not. The price $207.50 is a lot for me. This case is frustrating me a lot and again another case.
Today, April 14, they wrote they delivered another package in my mailbox. I opened my mailbox to get that but there was nothing except one advertising paper. How can USPS be unconcerned with people's things. How can they update delivered status without delivering? I am too upset with USPS. I don't know who is going to reimburse my lost. I want some substitutes for USPS. The employee of USPS is careless. About two weeks ago, I found 2 mails addressed another building but same apt. in my mailbox. I put those mails in the outgoing box. And there is my friend living in the next building, he also didn't get package but they updated delivered. One day later, he got package from his neighbours. Earlier this year (2015) the mail carrier delivered my mail and went on to the neighbors. She had forgotten to deliver my package and walk back as my 15 year old daughter was going out to get the mail. The carrier reached towards my daughter and my dog ran to the door barking. The carrier started yelling at my daughter and would not stop yelling at her even after I went outside to handle the issue. I understand that my dog had scared her, and was going to apologize. However as she would not stop yelling at my daughter I ended up yelling for her to stop yelling at my child. I had to send my child into the house to make this carrier stop yelling at her. I then told the carrier I was going to call the post office and for her to get off my property.
As I walked into the house she continued to run her mouth. In all of this my dog had never left my house. I received a letter a day or two later stating that my dog had damaged my package and came after this carrier. I called the post office and was told the carrier had said my dog had come a foot out of the house at her. Both my daughter and I were right there and the dog remained fully inside the house. Also there had been no damage from my dog or anything else to the package.
About to weeks later while my son and I were carrying groceries in the house, this same carrier rudely said "where's your dog?" As rude as she said that to me I replied with "he's in the back yard, why? Would you like to yell at my son too?" I called the post office again, and once again nothing seems to have happened about her. Now months later my dog got out of my fenced in backyard and scared this same carrier. I was on my way home when the carrier stepped into the road in front of my moving vehicle to stop me and tell me that my dog was loose. I said I would see as I could not see a dog running around from the end of the street. I then drove home and found my dog sitting in my driveway.
The next day my mail came as normal and nothing after that. When I saw the carrier skip my house on Monday April 13th I called the post office. I was told I would have to come in and sign a paper about my dog. I went in on the 13th signed the paper after writing on it that what they call the first incident was incorrect. I was then told my mail would start again on today the 14th of April. Again today she skipped my house. Called the post office again and was told that she feels threatened because I filed a complaint against her. As a result I'm not receiving my mail.
The post office said she's not at fault for any of this. I have spoken to this carrier 3 times since she became the carrier for my area. All 3 times are listed above. This is the only carrier I have ever had any problems with. The other carriers we have had are polite and kind. I was not aware that filing a complaint when a carrier does something wrong would cause me not to receive my mail.

It is awesome to know that people still care enough to take the time to do something that would normally be shoved off as no big deal, and thus they stopped from rewarding the fraudulent behavior that was committed. I can say that my trust in USPS workers has really gone up and that when someone says anything bad, I will be ready to defend them after what ** and ** have both show to me today.

Ordered a package and it was shipped as 2-day priority mail. Of course, this means nothing because its only a label that they charge you more for as the shipping date is not guaranteed. Package arrives at a facility fifty miles from the address it was shipped from. The package does not leave the facility and there is no update on the package, beyond the fact that it has been stuck in the same location for two days.
So I call customer service to find out what's wrong, if there's any updates, what they can do, etc. If you follow the prompts the automated machine gives you, there is no way you will ever speak to customer service. The machine is useless and will actually tell you customer service is not available. Ignore the machine, press 0 every time it says something. Eventually after pressing 0 a multitude of times, I reach the customer service waiting line, which says the wait is about 20-30 minutes. I listened to the music for about an hour and half to talk to a useless representative.
I tried to communicate with the representative in a calm and collected manner. The representative was definitely elderly and hard of hearing, because she asked me to repeat several things slower and more clearly (I was calling from an iPhone and my voice is clear). She accused me of being rude, although I spoke in a polite manner. When I repeated questions she clearly avoided answering. I asked why my package was still in the particular city after two days. All she could tell me was exactly what was already online. The destination it was supposed to arrive at is still 8 states away, and the package has traveled only one state in the "2-day priority mail shipping".
2-3 day priority mail is not a guarantee, which I already knew before I ordered it. But the representative told me priority mail shipping is shipped with the same packages as regular shipping. If you are ordering priority mail shipping, don't bother. It's a scam for them to get more money off of you. I was speaking to a friend who worked at a USPS facility and he told me, USPS employees are lazy and ignore all protocol. They do not fill quotas, they ignore all directions on boxes (this side up, fragile, etc.), and treat every box in the same rough manner, where they just toss it around (non-discrimination I guess!). Facilities are run by nepotism. Management just hires their barely high school educated youth to sit around and sort three packages an hour. Management hires their elderly non-retirement eligible ilk to man the phones. Customer service is a nightmare and can't tell you anything beyond what you already know.
Honestly, the package is probably already lost (it was a $300 package insured for $100) and I would give up any hope of seeing it in a timely manner. If you needed something urgently and it isn't available anywhere near your area, use UPS or Fedex, cause if you use USPS it's either going to come four weeks late, or never come at all.
TL;DR. Never ship a package from USPS.

I was trying to track a birthday present all of today and most of the people I talked to seemed like they'd just woken up. If this was a real business they'd have gone bust decades ago. Probably has something to do with the fact that they hire complete donkeys to work for them. All we can do is complain and suffer.

Mailed a package to a customer on 3-23 and the track # never shows any movement which is normal for them. So a week later the customer emails me asking if I have mailed the package. Yes I did. So I call the consumer affair people again, (and they know me now lol) and the lady says she'll look into it. I wait a few days and still nothing. So I call back and get another lady and she was as mad as me. She turned out to be a pitbull.
Next day I finally see movement but it sits at the sort facility for 3 days. She called and said she saw that too. It finally left Texas hopefully it gets to Knoxville at least. So we'll see how long it takes from there. It's been 13 friggin days and customer still doesn't have it in her hand. So where did we let the postal service gain all the control and attitude since it first got started. The commercials all lie and the government needs to take back control or fire everyone and hire people that really care if your mail gets where it's supposed to when they say it's going to.

This post office has fallen into slovenliness and horrible service in the past two years. The personnel are often flippant, shuffle instead of step right along to get the job done, could care less about mess-ups with the mail system in house, will do nothing about complaints, make excuses for bending and folding your pictures to stuff them into your box, lie about placing notices in your box, and finally accuse you of not picking up your mail for 2-3 weeks as an excuse to ruin your mail or return it to sender. In fact, I pick up my mail 3 times per week. Sometimes a package is not delivered at all and sits on a shelf in the back for 3 weeks. Manager's name is **. Worthless. Won't help at all... not even a "sorry, I will let our staff know and try to do better next time."
Of course, there is no one to call as all of the phones are protected, and you can't talk to someone of authority because they are usually at lunch. Staff talks, texts, and play on cell phones when supposed to be waiting on customers. Need I go on? I could write 4 more paragraphs. They wonder why they are losing respect and customers. It appears to me the staff and supervision are not the sharpest tacks on the board but they are getting plenty of tax-payer money and benefits coupled with pensions for doing a job that would get a person fired in a production facility.

Grand Haven, MI post office is a JOKE! We are constantly getting other neighbors mail delivered to our home. In addition, we are not getting all of our own mail. Today, I received the mail of 4 different neighbors. We are the first house on the street. Apparently, the mailman didn't feel like delivering the mail to the homes in which they belong, so he just put them in our box for us to deliver. Happens all the time.
There have been bills we've never received, cards, etc. Forget magazines and catalogs, they never come! I have to stay up with all of my bills manually to make sure I pay bills on time. For instance, we never received our State Farm Insurance bills. I knew they were coming due, so I logged in to check them. Yep, one had just expired and two more were due.
I am a tax paying citizen. I should be able to expect better service from the US Postal Service! I know there is nothing I can do about it. My voice will go unheard on this because it is a government entity. Nothing I can do! They can trash my mail, never deliver it, expect me to deliver my neighbors mail, etc. and get away with it. If there was another option to choose from for mail delivery, even if it costs a lot, I would pay to switch. Just RIDICULOUS!

This is about my green card sent by UCSIS, that I have paid $450 for and waited since January 2014. Only because USPS noted "the package was delivered on Aug 6th, 2014", I still have not got my green card. It was approved and the card was supposed to arrive to my home address on Aug 6th, 2014 by priority mail. Last Nov, I went to the post office in person, I called them 2 times, they made it so clear that "the package was delivered, it was not their fault." I had to reapplied my card on Nov 2014, by using an honest reason "My card was issued but never received." By choosing this honest reason, a kind USCIS officer returned my 2nd payment of $450 in Dec 2014. But as last week, March 21st, 2015, a final decision letter sent to me stating I had to reapply the 3rd time with the correct fee.
After 4 months of waiting went nothing. From the previous experience of the 2nd application, this likely kicks me back to the end of the waiting line, another 7 months, and the full fee $450 again. So, this application originally started from Jan 2014, it probably goes to the end of 2015 to result, only because USPS stated "packaged was delivered on Aug 6th, 2014".
I have met the regular mailman in our area, he seemed nice. I don't think he stole my package. But, there is a possibility he delivered my mail to a wrong door, or lost it during transit. Human make mistakes. In early 2014, I have received a package that was sent to one of my neighbors and I had to walk to her door to give it to her. When we lived in a condo complex several years ago, some neighbors and we have lost mails through USPS. One resident doctor did not receive an offer letter from a hospital. He knew it after the hospital called him after a few months. Due to these reason, we started using a UPS mail box in 2011.
In Nov 2014, when I went to our UPS store to send out the 2nd green card application, and told them about my lost mail. Yes, I chose more than double of the mailing fee through UPS, not USPS. The UPS store staff told me that several of their UPS mailbox owners had not received their packages that were supposed to be delivered by USPS to their UPS mail boxes. However, USPS still claimed "package was delivered on *** date". Well, the UPS staff witnessed no packages delivered to their store for those recipients, before the staff could distribute the mails to mail boxes!
In Nov 2014, after I called USPS customer service line and complained, no results. After I filed their $100 insurance included in priority mail, denied. Because, "The package was delivered." Do you trust this statement from USPS? I don't buy facts that I have experienced. However, USCIS take this USPS false statement as a fact.
If USPS do not take any responsibilities of their faults, how do they run their business? How do they train their employees to be responsible? Yes, human make mistakes. But we have to take the consequences after our mistakes. If I lost my home key, I have to pay a locksmith to make a new one. If a mailman lost one mail, it is understandable among so many deliveries and USPS should pay for the consequences. If the same mailman have lost many mails, then he should not be on the job anymore. If many employees are underpaid or under trained and make lots of mistakes, how could this business last?
Our family have been using UPS mail box almost 4 years, even now we live a relatively safe and nice area that has little chance neighbors steal mails. for my first green card application, I wanted to use my UPS mail box as the mailing address (so at least one more person, the UPS staff could witness a lost mail), but the USCIS online application form in Jan 2014 did not allow to fill in "Apt/Ste/Flr" number as UPS mailbox number system such as "Ste 123, box 456". So I chose home address as the mailing address, and an important piece of mail was lost. Isn't this ironic? I could not even trust using my home address as mailing address? This week, when I applied online for my card the 3rd time, USCIS online form could accept my typing for the UPS mail box numbers (I had to type like Ste123-456), but still noted something like "could not recognize the address".
This is the first time I am at this website to complain about USPS. My "package has been delivered on Aug 6th, 2014"? No! Written on April 3rd, 2015.

Tracking shows mail traveling four days going from one Cleveland location to another and back to the original location. It is Thursday and the mail is now in Michigan. There is absolutely no reason for my package to be in another state. I hate to use the words 'idiot' and 'stupid' to describe people, but this is just absolute incompetence and maybe we should consider letting the private sector now handle US mail.

I moved into a new apartment in December 30th 2014 and I forwarded my new address immediately, and got a welcome mail (saying that I'm receiving my green card within 60 days) from USCIS in early January which the post office forwarded. I know I should have reported a new address to USCIS but I lost my recent receipt number so I couldn't do that. But it seemed like that post office could forward the immigration mail because I received their welcome mail through post office. So I waited until March for the mail and I never got my green card.
First, I called USCIS office to find out what's going on and they gave me the tracking number so I tracked it. It said it was delivered to my old address on January 21st. So then I called post office customer service and they said they didn't forward the immigration mail (then how was the previous mail from USCIS forwarded?). The representative of post office told me that they cannot forward any immigration mail and that they have to send it back, therefore the mail shouldn't have been sent to my old address. I called USCIS and they said they never received anything from post office, they said if post office sent it then they would've had tracking number with it.
I called post office customer service again, and they gave me other numbers to help me out. I called facilities of post office and they don't know if they sent my green card back or if it was mailed to my old address. And I called consumer affairs, they never answered, so I left voice mail twice, still never got a call back. Now no one knows where my green card is and I'm gonna have to pay $450 for renewing my green card which I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED.

First incident occurred on March 28, 2015 when a package was to be delivered. Package was not delivered and I waited until Monday to check again. When it was tracked through USPS, it had "delivery status not updated." On Wednesday, went to the Post Office and was informed that the carrier brought the package back and did not scan nor leave a note informing me that it was returned to the Post Office. This was unexplainable as the mailbox is big enough to put in huge boxes let alone a package less than 2 oz.
Second occurrence April 1st, Priority Mail 2-day item scanned this time as "delivered but no package." I have on this date filed a complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service department as this has become a situation that needs to be handled. I sent an expensive package via 2-day shipping, and now a whooping 4 weeks later, it's still sitting in the tracker like it never left Macon to go to it's destination. Of course I called USPS (not local office) and the reps were fairly decent. There was just one rep I spoke to who sounded like she needed to go back to bed (or was still in bed). The only thing I accomplished with calling was getting the excuse that the package was delayed due to weather conditions since they did not want to admit the package was lost. So I decided to file a claim on the package that was clearly lost. The first claim I filed was denied and my appeal got accepted. I then decided to do some more investigation just to see if I could find out how much USPS decided to give me back, and of course, they are paying me for less than half of what the package is worth. Also, they did not include the shipping fees I paid like I was told they would.
This is not the first time USPS has lost an expensive package I've sent. Hence, I would never be foolish enough to mail any of my packages through USPS ever again. My local USPS office is deplorable when it comes to solving issues like this which is another story in itself. If given the chance, I will warn people about this service and steer them in the right direction, which is AWAY from USPS postal services. Please avoid sending packages through them like the plague.
