Given a tracking number for express service parcel which they can't find. Customer service can't find reason why parcel hasn't left regional dept for several days but then she's several thousand miles away. Won't connect you to local personal to assist in parcel recovery. Not recommended!!!! Bad service, expensive and very poor attitudes.

Had a large package delivered to the post office where I have a box. I was assured by the sender that it was sent and the shipper that it was shipped to arrive by a certain date by which I needed it. As it turned out, both did their job well but it was the post office employees who failed miserably. When I got to the counter to pick up my package I was told by two clerks it was not there despite the shipper assuring me that it was delivered several hours earlier and was there already, which I communicated to the clerks (shipper name and exact time they said it was delivered). The counter clerks assured me multiple times that the truck did not arrive that day with any packages and thus my package was not there.
I asked them to check for it in the back room where they store packages for customers but they would not do it. They also told me to check for a yellow slip in my box confirming the package was there. No yellow slip, so they again stated that my package is not there because if it was, there would be a yellow slip placed in my box by now alerting me to the package delivery. I called Consumer Affairs and their rep was put on hold a long time and later told me nobody there picked up the call, adding to my suspicion because CA is over these people. I had a supervisor from another branch call and have the clerks who blew off me as the customer and the CA manager call over there and check for my package after I expressed a strong sense of urgency and what I planned to do next, which was file a theft report with the police.
Lo and behold my package was there after all, just like the shipper said! Why didn't they check in the first place like I asked them to? I felt, and still feel, that someone there might have been planning to steal the package, which was large and from the outside of the box could appear to have valuables inside. Or was it just sloppiness, laziness, and incompetence there, or some sort of retaliation for previous complaints including a similar one to this? Possible discrimination? Something else? I was supposed to receive a call within 72 hours but that didn't happen, either, Now I'm told this is being further investigated with no particular time for the response? If this doesn't happen very soon, I will then escalate it beyond usps and get the answers.
Before this event, usps was good in my opinion. Now, I'm not so sure. This bad experience definitely lowered my previous high opinion of the organization with more pending either way depending on how this is resolved. I at least learned to involve higher level people than the clerks, both inside and outside the organization, and recommend you do the same. If I did not go to the next step of contacting an outside supervisor, I would have filed a police report for theft and possibly wrongfully claimed that the shipper's driver could have stolen the package - when in fact it was the sloppiness and potentially theft-minded individuals at my post office who were the culprits whether wittingly or not. I kicked up such a fuss that if it was the latter this could have scared them off.
I do not rule anything out in this case because, to summarize, despite my package being there as scheduled: I was told multiple times it was not; the clerks would not even spend a few seconds to check the storage room for it, there was no yellow slip in my box despite the package being there, they did not answer the phone call of Consumer Affairs (but they did of their supervisor located in a separate branch), and they magically located my package after their supervisor urged them to look for it after I said I was going to file a theft report with the police. So beware. I am posting this as a learning experience for others. I hope this never happens again to me or anyone else, but if it does I hope you learn from what I did to prevent it from possibly being worse.

For the past 20 years we have been shipping packages from our post office in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, to our children on the mainland without any problems. The USPS Priority Mail service and especially their tracking updates are always excellent. Every package is always delivered on time, or even earlier than expected, and no fragile item has ever broken. We have wanted to give them this review for years, but did not know where to do it. Everyone in this post office is a friend by now, and we cannot praise all of them enough. THANK YOU ALL!

I don’t understand how my mail ends up in my neighbors box when I have my last name ONLY on the box and still get others mail. This needs to stop. If I have another choice I swear I would never use USPS again. I sent a package to Hawaii from Middletown worth $1100 (Hermes Bracelets). It was stolen in Hawaii. At first they said it wasn't delivered, my friend went to the post office for picked up but it can't be found, then the next morning it shows online that it was delivered but wasn't signed by supposed reciever. Makes the matter short they did a police report and there was an eternal investigations. I was told to file an online claim and I did, a week after I checked my status online and notice that even though I already change the address the old address in Hawaii is still what is showing. I called them to change the address and told me to write a written correspondence.
I did as I told, wrote the written correspondence and mail it to their address in St Louis, MO. Note that I filed the claim beggining of July, August come and still haven't recieved any so I called again to check for my status, I was told that they will be issuing a check worth $121.83 and I told them that I will be protesting and appeal it and again asked for the address where they are sending it, they did the right address but wrong zip code. So again, I told them to change the zip code. This go on for a month and maybe five call to the accounting department. September 18, I receive a check worth $121.83 and did a mobile deposit, it went through but couple days after it was taken off my account, I was told because it was on hold.
Navy Fed obviously charge me $15 for it and when I pay my CC and money wasn't there penalized me for $29. I call them today to get to the buttom of this and they want me to send more paperwork to change the zip code again from the one in Hawaii that I already change to MD. Someone did input the wrong zip code in their system and I am paying for the price? $15 and $29 penalty because they reissue a check that they messed up with? I am left with no choice. I already lost $1100+15+29 and this been going on for for 3 months. No resolution, no answer and no one is taking responsibility. I would never recommend USPS to my friend or family. Terrible terrible terrible. No accountability whatsoever.

I sent a certified return receipt letter on 9-7-19; it still has not been delivered and the USPS has no record of it. They basically told me to suck it up and send it again. I don't want to fight with them to get my money returned for the mailing fee. The customer care agent had the nerve to tell me that sometimes the certified mail gets lost, so I should send it express. Certified and Express services both include incompetence, as I sent overnight mail that was delivered 3 days later. USPS is disgusting and a long shot.

It was my closest friend's birthday and we both send each other handmade greeting card. This time I decided to send the greeting card through USPS. Never knew this was the worst way I got conned ever. As per their package options, I decided to opt for a priority express mail which had 3 option. $101 for 1-3 days delivery, $63 for 3-5 day, $34 for 5-7 working business days. Never did I thought it was a scam and that they never guaranteed money back.
I posted my package on the 29th of August assuming which I thought it would get delivered on Sunday the 1st September or evening 31st of August. Well, I thought it would take just 3 more days as per the promise. The post got delivered on the 12th of September. Now they claim that the country (India) is not eligible for global express and they won't refund a single amount to which I feel I am cheated. Wish this could reach the ears of the company. But I'll never recommend USPS for International services. The most unethical experience I ever had.

Nobody can help me locate it but somehow I got a message from Paypal on 9-6-19 stating the package was .17 overweight and cost me another $2.61. What I want to know is how nobody can tell me where the package IS BUUUT somehow knows it is overweight? That PROVES someone had their hands on it! USPS is the MOST horrible shipping service I have ever encountered. I dont know who exactly keeps giving them 5 stars, but it's obviously not a real customer. Go to Google reviews for the REAL reviews. I was supposed to receive a package a few weeks ago that said "handed to resident" while another package, dropped off at the same time was in my mailbox. That doesn't even make sense. So basically that package never got delivered and I was out that money. Last week I had 2 packages "delivered" and again one was missing. I was supposed to have a package delivered today and now they have changed the delivery date to 3 days away for "unforeseen circumstances". So those are probably gone too. One of those was really expensive and I'm terrified they've lost it. I hate this company and in the future if what I want to purchase is delivered thru USPS I just wont get it.

This has recently happened twice, though it's happened a lot in the past. Shipping and receiving. Packages were shipped 3-day priority. And, of course, they charged me for that service. The last package took a week. The current package has been delayed and will definitely take four or more days to arrive. From what I've read, this service is not guaranteed to arrive within the specified time frame even though you paid extra for it. So...no timely shipping, no refund for a service you didn't receive. Absolutely ridiculous. I could understand weather or other anomalies that would prevent timely service, but what about when the USPS simply drops the ball? I always dread shipping via USPS. Heck, UPS and FedEx and their SurePost/SmartPost shenanigans aren't any better. Seems like a totally unfair way of doing business to me.

We picked our mail from mailboxes located on the street some 1/2 mile from our house. These are cluster of mailboxes with keys. I lived 3 years in Taos NM. In this 3 year period I ordered 2 sets of checks from my banks (one bank in Taos and one in another state.), on both of these two occasions I had to reorder the checks. The out of State checks came via a different carrier with tracking number, For the bank in Taos they called me when the checks arrived, and I picked them at the bank.
Another occasion they left a oversize package in a small lockbox. I realized I can not take the box out. So, I decided to lock the lockbox and have PO take it out for me. But you can not lock the lockboxes once the customer opens them. My dilemma was that, I could not leave the package in the lockbox with lockbox open, and at the same time I could not take the package out without destroying the box and taking a chance of damaging the content. I took the box out piece by piece.
The following day I went to the post office with pieces of box. A woman was upfront, I asked to see the manager, she said she was the manager. I explained to her what had happened (when post office delivered mails/packages they open the front of the cabinet to have access to all mailboxes. When the front is open it gives a little more room especially for packages. That is why they were able to put or cram the box in the first place).
Another occasion, I ordered an electronic gadget from Amazon. On Friday I checked my mail, and it said my package had been delivered and the key to the lockbox is in my regular mailbox. It was late, and I did not feel going out that evening. Next day Saturday I went to our mailbox, and I opened it, expecting to see a key to the lockbox. There was no key. I made a print of the delivery message, and took it to the post office. They made a report of it, and told me to give it another day. Nothing happened on that Monday or the following day. I made another print of the delivery message and went back to post office a second time on Wednesday. I noticed these people were not really concerned. I came home and called Amazon, and told them the whole story. Amazon gave me credit for the purchase.
Comes Friday, exactly a week from first I was notified that my package has arrived, I go check my mail, and voila, there is a key for the lockbox in my mailbox. I opened the lockbox, and there it is my package. I went home and called Amazon that my package has arrived and charge my CC. Question? Where was my package this whole 7 days. On about a dozen occasion I did not receive my regular mail which consisted of various kinds of bills. And on few occasions I was charged late fees and interest, simply put my mail did not get delivered. I made a habit of keeping track of my mail and if I did not receive a piece of mail I called the proper office to see if my bill has been sent and when.
This is my favorite. When we moved to Taos, we did not close all of our bank accounts. We closed one account after few years. No problem there. But the other account, which held a substantial amount, we closed it in about the April of 2018. I emailed the bank and one of my instructions was that send check via registered mail. I waited two weeks for the check. Nothing came of it.
I called the bank and asked them what happened to my check? Haven't they closed my account? They said they sent the check over a week ago, give it time. I waited another week. I called again. This time I asked, "Didn't you sent the check via registered mail.?" They said no. I said, "I specifically asked in my email to send check via registered mail." They started mumbling stuff. I said, "I tell you what, I will send that email again and see it again." Well, They cancelled the check, and a few days later I received my check via FedEx. Taos is number one in crime in NM. All the thieves work in Taos PO. Taos is a okay place to visit once. Maybe? Colorado is much better.

I waited at the family member's home all day and it didn't come because it was "arriving late" even though the expected date was still Monday before 8PM. I have a place to be on Tuesday (the next day) so I have to leave without my package. I'm not sure I'll be able to make it back on Tuesday to pick it up and it is very expensive. When called, they may pick up immediately or keep you waiting for 40+ minutes. Agents had--or claimed they had-- different information than the "system generated" information provided online. One agent told me that the package had been sitting in the wrong post office in Atlanta since the 5th. The last agent provided me with a non-working phone number for the Atlanta post office. We are a business and have inconsistent and unreliable service delivery whenever there is a substitute carrier for route 30309. When you call into the branch that supervises the carriers on the 30309 route, they make up every excuse in the book as to why mail isn't delivered and/or why it comes well after business hours. The supervisors could care less about the customers. No wonder they keep losing business to competitors. I have elevated this concern to customer service, the consumer advocacy office, as well as our US rep/senators on several occasions over the last several years. Nothing seems to work.
Looks like USPS (30309) as we know it today will end up like the fate of the carrier pigeon and Pony Express. Many businesses continue to move to electronic mail, e-magazines, online bill pay, etc. Once moved over to electronic service, it will be impossible for USPS to win customers back. With less customer business, there will be less need for carriers. With less carriers, there will be less need for supervisors. This, the circle of 30309 USPS life. Very sad that 30309 doesn't care about customers (including business customers). It shows in the dismal reviews it gets. NOTE: I gave 1 star, but would have given a "0" if that was an option. Do yourselves a favor, go someplace other than USPS 30309 for your mail needs.

My neighbors and I, who don't share similar names or address numbers, get each other's mail 3-4 times weekly. Some of the neighbors deliver the wrong mail to the right person but some don't, and then we never get the mail that Informed Delivery says we are getting. My medical information, money, bills, and other important or sensitive items are constantly delivered to a stranger. USPS won't even answer a complain online... they repeatedly ignore it. My neighbor went to the post office to complain and was told mistakes happen. This has gone on routinely for a decade!!
This week I also had a package marked as delivered and I never received it. They fraudulently mark items as delivered when they leave the post office (the staff proudly told me this). Obviously that makes proof of delivery totally useless. Good luck proving to the seller that you didn't get an item when "proof" says you did! Anything can happen to that package after it leaves the post office... fire, loss, or MORE misdelivery!! The incompetence and lack of customer service are astounding. I shouldn't have to hand deliver others' mail every other day, and I should USUALLY get all of MY mail and not others. The fact that they ignore complaints and make excuses just compounds the awful quality.

Years of frustration and attempts at fixing a bad situation results in this review. USPS policies allow for false scanning, even though a package has not arrived and is not ready for pickup, the local post office bulk scans to cover their regulations, yet the packages are not available for pickup like the tracking claims. Usually, the postal workers are arrogant, defiant and ignorant. They seem lazy and intent on being in conflict with customers looking for their packages.
In one case, I was informed my package was ready for pickup, and for 2 weeks I kept asking about it. Eventually it was found on the floor with a big footprint on it. Some postal worker had stepped on my package which was a computer part, and the clerk just shrugged and laughed about it when it was finally found. The postmaster (95422 zip) always has red eyes, smells like he hasn't showered for weeks, and is contentious and argumentative with most customers who almost always have problems with errors and poor service. This has been the worst of many bad experiences with USPS.

I sent a first class package to a woman that won an item on eBay. It was sent on 5/29/19 to Cincinnati, Ohio. On 6/4 the tracking said it was arriving late but was on its way. On 6/11/19 I had to refund the money because the woman said the package was lost and threatened to escalate the issue with eBay if her money was not refunded immediately. It was refunded through PayPal. That same day 6/11/19 I requested a delivery intercept for the package if it was found to be returned to me. On 6/29/19 I receive an email from USPS saying that the package will continue to its original destination and my credit card will not be charged. More than 2 weeks later after requesting a delivery intercept and they could not do that!
Is the USPS in the business helping others scam people? The woman got her money back due to the total incompetence of USPS and now she is getting the package too even though I requested a package intercept. Something really needs to be done about how USPS handles packages and requests. What good is package intercept if after over 2 weeks they find the package and then they think it should go to its original destination? Maybe with all their incompetence they really should be privatized.

I received a package today that had evidently been opened in transit. The box had been torn apart with what looks like an x-acto knife, and saran-wrapped back together. The x-acto knife tore right through the cardboard box, the bubble wrap, and the adorable gift bag surrounding the gift, and damaged the product inside. The entire item had initially been surrounded by bubble wrap, but when I opened the item, the bubble wrap was all folded up at the bottom of the box, instead of surrounding the item as it was initially.
The carelessness evident in the handling of this package was shocking. I understand that USPS has to inspect packages every now and then, but I don't understand why they decide to be so reckless, rough and thoughtless as to ensure damage to items being shipped. They couldn't even been bothered to put the bubble wrap protecting the item back in place, and as a result, the gift box inside was banged up at each corner. Shipping of this item cost over $50, but wasn't worth a cent. Definitely think twice before sending anything through USPS if you want it to be handled with an ounce of care.

First of all, it's a nightmare to actually get in touch with anyone. Every time I called it would take me hours on the phone to talk to an actual human. When I was finally given a call back during work, I spent weeks trying to return the call only to be told that the lady in question had just left work, had taken the day off, or was on vacation. Apparently no one else in my regional office could help me either. I was trying to track down a package which had been listed as delivered to a parcel locker. There is a parcel locker in my building but no package had ever been placed inside of it (something which I confirmed with both my building manager and the company that owns the parcel locker). No package had been left in my mailbox or outside of the building either (I had checked both repeatedly).
When I finally got in touch with someone from USPS I was given a different answer each time but no one ever figured out what happened to my package. Although the package was insured and a claim was filed, I have still never been compensated for my lost package. The package was lost in December and it is now June... still waiting (probably for nothing). I will always use UPS or FedEx now if given the choice. Yes, they're more expensive, but if you're sending something you actually care about they're far more reliable.

I use USPS to ship out pre paid packages all the time. Because the labels are pre-paid they don’t need to be paid for with the the clerk. You can simply drop the package off and a clerk will scan the package in at the end of the day or when they are not busy with customers. Recently, the USPS carriers have not been scanning pre paid packages in and updating the tracking number and simply just delivering the package, also not confirming a delivery status. After 8 days of the tracking number not being updated I filed for a missing package. I understand packages do not go missing for long and eventually get delivered or returned to the mailer. It has been 14 days and no update.
The USPS have been poorly performing their jobs. I understand that more people are buying online but, that doesn’t give any USPS representatives to under perform their duties. Using pre paid labels saves time from waiting in line but, if tracking labels aren’t being scanned and the USPS representatives cannot perform their duties for the position they applied for then USPS can no longer be trusted to deliver ANYTHING.

What's even worse is that I live in an apartment building with 500 apartments occupied by people who HARDLY return misdelivered mail either due to their constantly going on vacation or just being dishonest (I once had an INSURANCE bill kept by another resident for 9 MONTHS due to the mail carrier putting it the wrong box).
Complaining (which I've done several times) to USPS about their carriers is a total waste of time since they do nothing or tell you that they're not responsible when in fact THEY ARE since it was THEIR OBVIOUSLY ILLITERATE MORONS who are putting the mail in WHATEVER mailbox they feel like instead of looking at addresses!! That’s stupid, you know I provided everything my address with every details, apt # etc... my phone number so if they have problems with the shipping they should call to the customer and make sure they receive the package but no it's more easier to send it back right? Another thing the 1800 customer service automatic system is a waste of time. It tells you a lot of things or option that probably you may not need. It's stupid, and to talk to a representative you most of the time you got it wait minimum 30 or 40 minutes. The knowledge of the representative very poor. Depending on what I’m sending.

In a rage struck myself. I made no other actions or comments. The USPS protects their employee. I was attacked in my early morning walk. Had a stiff arm for few months. I called the USPS and asked them why they had not delivered it yet as it showed on the tracking it was sitting there in the post office, he replied they don't deliver to that address so they returned it all the way to sender. I live less than 10 miles from that location, they never called me or notified me. Half of them left the FL post office 3/30, and half of them did not leave the facility until April 6. As of today, April 9, over 12 days since I dropped them off in person, I have 27 tracking numbers that say "Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its final destination. USPS needs to do its job correctly and deliver its mail and packages on time instead of delaying or losing them. If they cannot do that they need to be privatized. There is no reason for the crappy service they have. No other business would survive very long if they operated the way the Postal Service does. I sent a package to my granddaughter in Colorado. I sent it on 3/28/19. It was due to arrive on 04/03/2019. On the due date it kept saying “Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.”
The tracking information shows It arrived at the Jacksonville, Fl facility on 3/29/19 but nothing after that until April 2, 2019 and it said “In Transit, Arriving Late. Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.” What facility? I doubt it ever left the Jacksonville, Fl facility. It certainly never arrived. This is so frustrating because not only was this package very important but I paid money to have this package shipped to my granddaughter. Priority Mail is not a priority! It takes USPS twice as long to deliver a package than any other shipping company. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially when you're paying for a so-called service. There needs to be a shake-up with USPS and it starts at the top of the shipping chain. I understand around the Christmas season, but in April we have issues getting packages that are said to be delivered and it's 3 plus days later at best?! Time to pony up and pay FedEx or UPS, and know it'll be delivered on time.

I have several issues with USPS: First, I feel like USPS cannot deliver anything on time anymore. Tracking will show that something is being delivered by "x" date and that date will change constantly. I rarely get a package when I am supposed to anymore. Second, I have informed delivery that shows me what my mail is. I have had several pieces of mail never arrive, one of them being my mortgage statement. We just moved into our house, and we have a cluster mailbox. I have been waiting for my mortgage statement because the original mortgage company sold my mortgage.
All the information I need to pay that bill is on that statement. When I didn't get that statement that day I click on the box that says "did not receive" and waited, and waited. After a week I found the number to call the mortgage company and got all the information I needed and set up paperless billing. I still have not received that statement and it is a month later now. I received a yellow notice last week about mail being stolen out of our local post office, GREAT. I went to the website on the paper and filled out the form with what was missing and have gotten 4 emails telling me they received my email, that is it. I feel like nothing is being done.
Lastly, I have had packages take months to arrive and after 30 days have filled out the missing mail form online, and while the packages did arrive some 2-3 months later, I am still getting emails about once a month telling me they still can't find the package and they are still looking into it...um, NO. They are NOT looking into it. They have been delivered but yet they still can't find it and are still looking into it?! LIES. We are moving towards a society now where more and more everything is done online and we rely on carriers to do their jobs. Somewhere down this chain people are not doing their jobs. Super frustrated.

We are an online retail business. We ship about 250 packages per day. USPS recently, for the second time this year, mis-scanned our packages upon arrival, scanning them as "arrived at final destination" rather than "received, pending shipment". Hours of questions from our buyers, just like the last time the post office did this a month ago. Like last time, the post office stated that all items would arrive normally, despite the mis-scan. Many of the packages never arrived. Also like the last time, the post office showed us a useless tracking history on their computer that showed the packages delivered at the correct addresses, pretty much telling us to go away.
Apparently, all of our buyers from one day of mail, who usually do not write us any messages at all, have all become liars. We have had to reship over 5 packages totaling $200 from this round of mistakes. This company is absolutely the worst. No service, no customer concern or care and worst of all, no accountability for their mistakes at any level of their archaic operation.

There has absolutely been a very noticeable change (for the worse) in the past few months, not only in the overall service level I have received from the USPS but more specifically, with their "tracking service". There have been at least 4 to 5, small to very small, packages that have been delivered to me several days (sometimes more than a week) late, but what's worse and far more frustrating, is that their tracking system is so horrible that it's often times completely useless.
Most recently, the tracking info indicates that my package departed the original post office in Sterling Il at 3:21pm on March 25th. No further updates other than one on March 29th saying the package is running late but is in transit to the next facility. I live less than 6 hours (114 miles) from the post office from which it was sent. I'm in the state right next door (MO)! It shipped out 5 days ago and I live 6 hours away. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? And as I said, no other current tracking info is available. If you are patient/lucky enough to actually reach a live human on the phone, they are only able to see the same, non-updated, tracking info that you can see on your phone. Therefore, they are unable to provide any more info about the location of the package.
What good is a tracking system that doesn't track anything? The USPS needs to either re-vamp the entire tracking system or simply discontinue it all together because as it is, it works maybe 30% of the time (at best) & that is UNACCEPTABLE! The whole system is honestly pretty pathetic and so are most of the people working inside most of the post offices I've been in. NOT the mail carriers...I'm referring to the folks working behind the counters. The ones who are supposed to provide customer service. With a few rare exceptions, the majority of these individuals whom I've had to interact with either need a whole lot more training or should actually find another line of work...one that doesn't involve direct contact with the public. Well I was wrong. The USPS did come thru for me and issued a refund. I could have done a better job at sending the necessary paperwork to ensure a refund the first time. The lesson I learned is that the USPS will honor their insurance, you just need to know that they will deny the claim if you don't send in the proper paperwork to back up claim. Don't send screen shots from your phone. Print and scan to them full copies of transactions. They actually decided to play claim because of the problem I had with my mailman not reading my inquiry and not answering a simple request. He actually was a bad mailman, but he is also gone now too, and mail is back on track. The USPS website is a little slow, but it did work. Thank you USPS.

The United States Post Office delivered a package intended for me to a house "several houses away" but would not tell me what house, and then denied my claim stating it was delivered. They continued to deny the claim even after I let them know that it was their employee who told me it wasn't delivered to my house and I know for a fact that it was not delivered at 5:21 pm on December 14, 2018 because I was home and went out the door at 6:00 pm. The mailman would not even ACKNOWLEDGE my letter asking him if he remembered what house he put it at, and just started throwing my unread letter on the ground... over and over. It was like a game to him.
Since then, I have had 2 packages delivered to my house that was not mine, and the mailman would NOT even pick up one as it sat on my porch for over three days. I also get my neighbors mail constantly. The USPS online claim website is never working, and it took me 3 weeks to actually get an account completed so I could file a claim. Note to US Post Office, whatever comes top my house from now on IS MINE. You want problems, I'm going to give you problems. Congress needs to privatize the mail system, and send these worthless employees to the unemployment line where they belong. I will NEVER use USPS again. NEVER. Everything I get will be paperless from now on, and I will NEVER use them for anything, not even Christmas cards. I will pay additional money to have my packages delivered by FedEx or UPS but NEVER USPS. NEVER. CLOSE THEM DOWN. PERIOD.

Their website asks 100's of questions before we can actually email to customer service and when I called customer service, It took me 58 minutes of waiting and then some rude lady answered who treated me like she is doing some huge ** favor on me by answering the phone call. She replied that she has no further information of parcel. So Who should I blame now? If it's not USPS's fault in losing my parcel then whose fault it is. By the way I never got my money back.

Updated on 03/08/2019: I wrote a review recently on priority mail and no tracking updates. I got an update yesterday. March 1st my PRIORITY package was accepted by USPS in the Bronx, New York. March 6th it had traveled to Jersey City, New Jersey. According to my map search, the Bronx is 20 miles from Jersey City. My Priority package traveled 20 miles in 5 days. At this rate maybe sometime in May I might get my “priority” package here in Virginia. I am stressed and frustrated to the max with the postal system. Bring back the Pony Express. I won’t drive this in the ground anymore. It’s nice to have a place to vent.
Original Review: PRIORITY mail from New York to Virginia 6 days and counting. Inept, unreliable, incompetence at its best. Tracking info for days, “your package will be delayed, in transit to the next facility”... Day after day after day. PRIORITY mail is a catchphrase to get more money for the same slow service. Sorry about this, but I’m so tired of having my packages sent to the wrong facilities, wrong post offices, adding to the already slow shipping time. Tired of the same tracking message, “in transit to the next facility” day after day after day with no real updates.

Package left Northern CA on Feb 28th. Same day made it to Sacramento. For 5 days said in transit on time (I am in Omaha NE). I was supposed to get it on Wednesday, after 5 days in transit it made it all the way to Los Angeles. Unbelievable, I could drive that in one day not 5. NO hope of it making it here tomorrow, it's been in LA for 24 hours now. Usually what will happen is it will be in transit again for 10 days or so and end up over in Des Moines IA. Then 4 or 5 days later it would make it to Omaha. Sick of this lack of service.

Last summer, a package disappeared off the planet, I got stuck paying for it. Another, went from New Jersey, into Ohio (where I live) To Indianapolis, to Tennessee, then KY; before it made it to me. Another Came from Alabama, to my post office, then back to Alabama, only to return and finally get delivered to me. Now I purchased a package from Mississippi, made it to Cincinnati the next day. And after a week and a half, it's gone missing! They tried to tell me they never got it, But I have tracking proof. Then they said it did arrive, but now they can't find it. So it's either sitting in a pile in their warehouse, or an employee stole it from the warehouse. I am so stressed. I keep praying they find it. I'm calling them every day til they get sick of me. I want my package!! If it never turns up, I'm out way over $100.00. I am just sick over this!! How hard can it be to sort and reload on a truck to its final destination??? So incompetent... :(

USPS is a nightmare!!! They deliver if and when they want. Leave notes that they tried to deliver when they didn't because we sat there and watched them put mail in the box and drive by. They state that an item has been delivered when it wasn't put on their truck. And the latest we are currently in a temporary location where we have an address without mail service. The post office will not deliver here (UPS and FedEx will) but they will not "hold" my packages for pick up either unless I have a PO BOX. BUT THEY ACCEPT THEM FROM AMAZON! So they are willing to take them and hold them for an unknown amount of time and then send them back. But not allow me to come pick them up??? STOP STOP STOP USING USPS PLEASE!!!

Updated on 03/02/2019: A follow up on my previous review. I discovered that when USPS makes errors and sends a package to other than correct location, the tracking history is edited and these errors are deleted. That means that someone looks at these histories and edits them. The tracking history only reflect the things that were correct. I have the true history because I signed up to receive emails when the status changes. So the saga continues. My package went through the Coppell distribution center and then to Melissa Texas NOT Anna Texas as addressed. Now my package is back at the Coppell Distribution Center. Only God knows if I will ever receive my package. I had hope, since Melissa and Anna border each other, but alas the package has to go back to the Distribution center. Maybe They will send it to the correct post office this time. To correct my last post this stupidity is apparently throughout the postal system, not just Dallas Texas.
Original Review: I ordered a product on eBay. I watched the package progress through the USPS system. It made its way from New Mexico to Denver and then to Dallas Tx. Everything was going great but the the package went to a post office in Ft Worth! That was in the wrong direction. I tried to call USPS and after an hour wait they hung up on me! The package then went back to Dallas and the showed on its way to the next Facility. My post office is about 50 miles north of Dallas. Two days later the status still says in transit to the next facility!! Really? To Where? Still can't reach USPS. This is disgusting. If I order anything in the future I will not buy if the seller uses USPS as the shipper. By the way this isn't anywhere near the first time this has happened, and it is always the Dallas distribution center that causes the problem.

Postmaster Heather ** is hands down the worst human I have ever met. She is mean, rude, authoritative and while employed by the government, certainly not working on your behalf. I was thanked by people at the PO yesterday as I had to make a scene to get Heather to come out of her office and assist. Others explained, they appreciated what I was doing because it is the worst office every. 85 poor reviews on Google. her staff was not helpful until they knew I was ready to have this horrible person canned, then they were more than helpful. She treat her staff horribly therefore the staff is unhappy unmotivated and making customers mad. This trickles down. GET RID OF HEATHER!
In 2017 I moved my business to Keego Harbor, I had to call Heather 48 times out of 60 days to get my parcels picked up and she never once called me back or made this happen, I eventually called Consumer Affairs and then my packages began to get picked up, Heather finally called me after about 90 days and lectured me. I called Consumer Affairs today and was hung up on by Theresa as I tried to lodge a complaint another again against Heather. Your employees feel entitled and lack control in their lives so they use it against callers who have valid complaints.
I sell on Amazon, if my packages are not shipped within 24-48 of orders I lose my ability to sell on Amazon, Heather is causing great issues by not having a staff informed. REVIEW I LEFT TODAY ON GMAIL and I will continue to do this until Heather apologizes to me in person in front of her staff or is fired, I will not let up. Here is how to file a real complaint against the post office, plan on it taking a couple of hours, unfortunately. Trust me, it is worth it. You can't file a complaint with Consumer Affairs until you have a case number.
1st Call - 800-275-8777 obtain a Case Number, the easiest way to do this is choose "Carrier" each time and wait to open a case and get the number. 2nd Call - 313-234-8833 call Consumers Affairs and have that case number available. Don't call before 9 AM or your call will be lost in cyberspace, plan on waiting about 45-60 minutes. They leave at 4:30. IF you are a business, especially an Amazon Business, here is another # you can call if Pontiac can't effectively get your shipping supplies to you. 1-800-610-8734..
My thoughts on Pontiac Post Office - I have heard from approximately 20 people at various offices and drivers that Heather is terribly nasty and this is my experience as well with her. Thus making her staff miserable and not caring much about their job. I think with better management would come better staff. My goal is to see her fired! Heather does not know how to deescalate issues, she only makes them worse by threatening to call the police or saying things like "I don't have to help you." She might try "what is the problem?" or "how can I help?"
I called her for 60 days straight and left 48 voicemails to have my business parcels picked up, she never answered or called back. Once I spoke to CA, she had the audacity to call and lecture me. Now I can't get my shipping supplies for my business. She blamed the carrier, the carrier has delivered everything else including mail and parcels so what gives? I worked in Customer service for years and received thousands of angry customers in my face or on the phone. I started with all angry people like this - "I don't blame for you being angry, please tell me what is the problem so I can help fix it." I did not say things like I will call the police for yelling or "I don't have to help you until you are nice", or "Calm down." All choice words for Heather and Ronnie at Pontiac.

Used the online tool to request redelivery the following day. I watched the mail carrier deliver mail to my box and move on. Called the Post Office (Olathe East) and they said envelope was there and available for pickup. So the upshot of this is that carrier is too lazy to get out of the truck and walk to my door but it's okay for me to have to take time out of my day to drive to the PO and pick it up. If you need something delivered properly, best to choose UPS, FedEx, or any other private entity.

Did my first mail hold starting 2/8, and revised end date to 2/15. As of 2/20, mail delivery to my address has still NOT resumed. After waiting on hold for over an hour the other day to speak with Matthew, USPS CS clerk, he informed me that regular mail delivery was supposed to resume 2/16, and I had 10 days to pick up my held mail. He also gave me the local Citrus Heights/Fountain Square (CA) post office telephone number to call to confirm my mail delivery resumes immediately, but they won’t answer the phone, ever!! Tried six times. So I called the USPS 800 number, and again, per Kathy (CS clerk), mail delivery should’ve resumed on 2/16. I requested she or a supervisor call the CH post office to confirm mail delivery resumes, and guess what, the post office’s have ZERO ability to call other post offices! Are you kidding me??
Per Gretchen, a CS clerk supervisor at USPS 800#, the “end” date means nothing for a mail hold request. Your regular mail delivery will not resume until you go pick up your held mail! When the carrier comes in for work in the AM to pick up all the mail for delivery that day, when he sees that your stack of held mail is gone, then he knows to resume mail delivery to your house/apt. Then why do we have to give an end date for a mail hold if it means NOTHING?! Gretchen got so flustered, when I asked her to give me the definition of a mail hold @ end date,” she said, “Thank you for calling the USPS.” Oh, and since post office employees can’t speak to each other by phone, they’ll (if you believe them!) submit an electronic “inquiry/complaint to the affected PO, but then they have 72 business hours to respond back to you by phone! Really, what about no outbound calling capability?? What a joke!
There is NO customer service when it comes to the post office! Total incompetence! And they keep raising rates for what?? That’s right—longer hold times (it’s over an hour now!), hiring more completely inept, incompetent customer service clerks, increase shipping/mailing fees, and the list goes on and on. Thanks for nothing, Gretchen! You and the USPS are a joke!

I have no issues with my local post office. They are great, always very helpful and they quickly answered the phone but if you need to talk to the USPS representative and ask for their help then good luck to that. First I waited for almost an hour on the phone without any luck talking to someone. I hang up and called again, this time I requested to have them call me back. After about an hour 1/2 later, A representative called me back. She tracked the package and told me where exactly the package was. I asked for the reason why it was not delivered. She said the address was insufficient. I asked if she can correct it but for some reason she can't help me. She told me to call the local number. She gave me a local contact number to call but unfortunately that local number does not work.
I googled the local contact number. I may have called that number more than a dozen of times within the past 2 hours but no one answered, it just kept on ringing. So I called the customer service again. I dreaded it because I know I have to wait another hour or so. This time the representative called me back within an hour. I told her the situation but then again just like the other representative she told me that she can't help me, only the local post office. I tried to explain to her that I have been calling every 10 mins or so within the span of 2 hours but no one answered, she said, “Call them back between 1 o'clock or 2. They may just been so busy.”
This time it's already past 2 pm and I still did not accomplish anything. I gave another try to call the local number but still it just kept on ringing. I was thinking and praying that there has to be a person in the customer service that is willing to help me. I mean it's their job. All they have to do is to put a note and put the correct address, I realized now that it maybe the ZIP code. Maybe a Third time's a charm. Sure enough an angel name Rosie helped me. She said, “Not to worry. I will help you get this package deliver immediately.” She asked me with the complete address and she noted a request to the local post office to have my package redeliver again to my daughter. Within about 5 minutes or so, just like that she did what she needed to do.
My daughter texted me happily the following day that her package was delivered safe and sound. What I'm trying to convey on this review is that, Why some of them (USPS representative) won't even try? Is that so hard a job to do? No wonder a lot of people avoid USPS delivery nowadays. How can you compete with FedEx, UPS, Amazon, etc.? And why Rosie was able to quickly, easily helped me without any hesitation with a jubilant helpful voice. God bless her heart. Someone is still true to their job.

I have had problems with the carrier not delivering packages for 2 years. He falsifies delivery records (he never even puts the packages on his vehicle) and lies about safety. According to him, everything is unsafe. I'm surprised he even leaves the local facility... or even shows up to work. After all, he could get a paper cut. The carrier complains about safety, yet there are no safety issues with the UPS or FedEx drivers. UPS and FedEx have delivered here with zero issues my entire time living here. My lazy liar carrier makes me pick up everything. We have to take time off work to pick up packages and drive 20 miles total even though we have made it very easy for the USPS to deliver them. I have complained and argued numerous times with zero progress.
The postmaster doesn't care and is argumentative and defends the carrier's laziness. The postmaster's boss (senior operating manager) doesn't care. USPS.com complaints simply redirect to the postmaster. Consumer Affairs takes the side of the postmaster and wants to close cases immediately, whether the customer is satisfied or not. The customer is irrelevant to this company and the minimal energy actually expended by USPS is only to reinforce their own laziness and terrible service. I guess the monopolistic nature of the company allows them not to care at all. I vow to complain about USPS whenever and wherever I can, to post videos of their terrible and rude behavior whenever and wherever I can, and to continue to complain to online sellers who use their inferior services and ask them to consider alternative shippers. I hope my lazy carrier quits and stays home in a bubble inside a fallout shelter, so he can be safe.

Why did this certified letter get sent and almost tossed in 'dead letter' bin? Who is running the USPS lately? And the postage went up on stamps. Give the USPS 1/2 STAR.

Had sent out a critical parts for manufacture and did not pay attention to the shipper selection screen. USPS was the default selection and they did as well of a job as would be expected of them... Part delivered to "individual" at an adjacent street name. We have still not been able to discover who took possession of this shipment or ever where it was delivered to. USPS has been rude and dismissive in their response, what little there has been. Massive amounts of money were sunk into the recreation and expediting of the machined components. Shipped next day by UPS with zero issue. USPS, not even once.

I paid for Priority Mail, Signature Confirmation. Tracking info kept saying "Alert" delay in shipping for days. When I contact the recipient, I was told, "Package had been delivered." Evidently, the poor delivery service did not scan for delivered. The website contacts don't work. Email says "not available at the time." Phone contact is quirky, when request for representative is finally received, you are told that "wait time is greater than one hour." It seem they know that no one will wait for an hour (less work for them). I cannot get Signature Confirmation online, as I am told that "package has not yet been delivered." Why are we paying for such rotten service. What are these people being paid for? Either shut it down or rehire competent and efficient workers.

I ordered a $2,000 gift to be delivered to my house. This gift was something that someone specifically wanted, and I could not feasibly go and attain it myself. The package specifically said that it had to be signed for. I was outside doing yard work and had been waiting for this package for quite some time. I saw a USPS driver drive past my house and carelessly toss a small box into my neighbor's mailbox.
I had a suspicion and decided to go and see what the box was, as I had been waiting for so long for this item and needed to see if this box contained it. Sure enough, it was what I had ordered, and the label had my correct address on it. That would have been $2,000 completely wasted because the delivery guy A) didn't care to get a signature for the box that said REQUIRES SIGNATURE and B) didn't bother to pay close enough attention to the largely displayed house numbers on both my and my neighbor's houses.

Destination is South Bend, Indiana less than 100 miles from Chicago, but the USPS in their "wisdom" sees fit to send back to East Coast for hopeful return to the Midwest. I got for my birthday an awesome set of books which was being delivered from Germany. However, I was unaware that this would require a signature to be delivered. So, on Feb 4th I got a notification saying that the package was not delivered because I was not home (I was working). So, seeing that I scheduled a re-delivery for the next day the 5th, and got a confirmation and confirmation # for this request. So, on the 5th I stayed home all day waiting, however the carrier never showed up.
On the morning of the 6th of Feb I called and was told, "You can just go to the postal office and pick it up, no other action is necessary but here their phone number just in case." So, I called and called and called, they never picked up (after trying 5 times). Then, I went online and saw. You have to actually schedule a 'pick-up at the office', so I did and got a confirmation for my request for the same day and a confirmation number. After work I head to the office, waited, and then was told that my package was out for delivery because there was an order place to be delivered today at the address. Since they didn't have it there, I ran home putting on hold again all the things I needed to for that week (car registration, groceries, etc), and waited for my package. And waited, and waited, nobody showed up.
Next day morning of 7th of Feb I called already very upset about this, and was told a case was created for me and a request for the package to be delivered to the apartment's front office instead if no one answers, and also a request for be re-delivered on the same day. So, I again canceled all my responsibilities and appointments, and stayed home all day waiting for my package. And waited, and waited, and no carrier ever came.
Today, the 8th of February, again I called Customer Service and was told that all they can do is email the Post Office to say that I called about this, and nothing else, that to wait 3 business days for the response to this email, and 1 more business day for the response on the case created days ago. That if I wanted, I can call the Post Office even though nobody will answer, or to physically go there (again) and talk to the manager. So, I called the 813-989-7866 number because I'm working and can't leave, and called, and called and called (30+ times straight) to that office and no one picked up the phone.
It is UNBELIEVABLE to me that there is such awful communications with this office, that their carrier handling Allister Place Apartments, is so incompetent to not deliver this package when assigned to, that their Customer Service really all they can do is nothing and probably less than the website, that USPS provides services that they will not keep up with like the 'Schedule Pick-Up at Office" and "Schedule Re-delivery', that the actual Post Office will not be professional enough to answer customer phone calls, and that this service overall is just lousy overall.
Next time, definitely will consider spending $20 or more additional to have another carrier effectively and promptly handle my mail and orders. The time spent on this issue, and all the things I have to hold off on (still today the 8th won't be able to get my car registered), it is not worth the money nor recognition of this service. Hope people who appreciate organization and value their time won't make the same mistake I did, or my birthday present giver did.

I showed the manager the photocopies of the mail and once again he said it might be on the truck or lost. At this point he gave me the numbers to report missing mail. On 01/12/19 I went to the post office again and spoke with a manager. I asked, "Where did this mail come from? This mail has been missing since 12/15/18? How did it get in my mailbox? Where did this stamp come from?" He took me to the back where they sort return mail. He said, "The only place you get individual stamps like that is at the warehouse and once they stamp it it's returned to sender." I then followed up with, "How did it get back to me?" He said, "She must of got a stamp somewhere."
I was advised she had not been at their location in a few weeks. He stated her and her girlfriend came in and tried to explain the whole story to him but he told her it was nothing he could do. I asked the status of my case and what are they going to do about this. He told me they removed her from my route and that's the most they can do. The rest is up to the investigation. I contacted the contact center and advised them of the new info with the mail.
I asked for an update. I was advised they don't see resolutions and if an investigator need more info he will contact me. I asked, "What if no one calls me." The agent advised I may not get the resolution that I want because I don't have any video proof. I advised her, "That is unacceptable.
