I’ve ordered many articles online and am particularly satisfied when they are delivered by USPS. They tend to get packages here on time or before. They deliver to the door and articles arrive in good condition, unlike some of their competition. I find their service superior to most other companies. Being particular as to punctuality I appreciate their dependability.

Parcels are Shipped to wrong town, tracking shows delivered but not delivered until following day. I always insure and track packages.. If package not received call 1800 275 8777. I 800 ask USPS. Keep your receipt until parcel is safely received. YOU NEED YOUR RECEIPT to file If your parcel is lost or damaged. Also check with your neighbors to see if the package was left at your Neighbor's door instead of your door. Immediately have your post office file an immediate claim. In my area many postal workers have taken early retirement. Many post offices are understaffed.

I really like using the USPS for mailing packages. I mail many packages during the year and especially during the Christmas season every year. I send cookies, candy and other baked goods every year and sometimes during the year. When they say a pkg is going to be delivered--It usually is always delivered by the date promised. The Postal service is such a reliable and so much more reasonable means of shipping than other companies. Yes... they are my most trusted means of shipping.

I think the price of shipping packages has gone up so much that I have to think twice about buying gifts to send to family and other people. Of course, the mail office you go to has different experiences, some are not so crowded and service is quite fast. Other offices are loaded with customers and there is a waiting line. I have moved into a new apt. in Vegas and I'm finding that I am getting a lot of old mail addressed to former tenants and even if I take the letters to the post office and ask for them to be cancelled because I am the only one in the designated apt, the post office has sent them back to me. Crazy! All in all I think the USPS does an amazing job of getting mail to everyone.

They called the post office where the package was going and got the P.O. box number for me for future and asked if and when the package arrives if they can put it in the P.O. box. That saved me $24 otherwise they would have returned and I would have to pay to send it out again but to the P.O. box.

It really depends on the carrier regarding on time delivery or not. If the carrier is new then the delivery suffers. I know because I get 'delivery attempted' when it is late in the evening when no delivery has been attempted. The issue was a new carrier that was overloaded and couldn't keep pace with the load while learning. Not a big deal but don't say delivery is imminent and then say an attempt was made just because it's late in the day. People take time off to grab packages based on this delivery notice.

I think the flat rate priority box rates are priced too high, and there is no guarantee they will even get there in the time they should. Further, even though you are paying for “priority shipping,” unless you are actually shipping one-day priority, you have limited claim benefits. I've had multiple problems with packages I've sent through USPS not getting to their intended recipients.

I received an email from a shipper that my order had been delivered, however it was nowhere to be found. The same day I got a phone call from a person on the other side of town saying that he had found a package addressed to me sitting on the ground in the parking area. When I went to pick up my package the gentleman explained that he had found it sitting on the ground earlier in the day. Fortunately, I still have a land line, so he could find my contact in the local phone book.

Clearly their system is broken if they can report a package as delivered when, in fact, it was sitting on the ground a couple of miles away from the address on the label. This is not the first time I have had package delivery issues. Within the last 2 weeks I found a missing "delivered" package in the mail box of a neighbor with the same house number but on a different street. This issue has been ongoing for years, but the local PO does not seem to be able to correct it.

I've dealt with these folks a long time and in various states from Arizona, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Tennessee. Several years ago they seemed more concerned about parcel care and customer satisfaction, not so much anymore. It seems like speed is more important at the expense of product integrity. They have also gotten more careless and aggressive on the major roadways I travel. In fact, today we suffered a deluge which frequently impeded visibility.

As a matter of fact, this is day 3 of pelting rain and flood warnings. I had a UPS truck suddenly veer in front of me in the middle lane to get away from a slower moving vehicle in the right lane and did not even signal his intent. He nearly clipped my front end by inches. This is a common occurrence. At a time when everyone should have been slowing down because of inclement weather these guys are flying at break neck speeds. And then on the news we see wrecked semis with our parcels scattering the interstate.

OK, taking the quick list provided, I start with "price". For services offered ("Priority", 1st Class, &c.) & price charged, truth is, it's actually all the same service, except the very low-end (Parcel Post, media, &c.). Everything goes into bags that go into trucks that follow the very same route. (Easy fact to be verified, if need be.) Then, as with putting 8oz. coffee in a 1lb. can & charging the 1lb. price (because customers don't notice), USPS make the "free" boxes MUCH smaller & charge the same price. "Time scale": I strongly encourage customers to ask where their mail/parcels travel. USPS will send mail to "hubs", some, many miles in the opposite direction of destination, then to "sub hubs" rather than a "most direct". Carbon print? Gas prices? Customers pay the difference. Compare delivery times to UPS.

When items travel UPS vs. USPS-to-USPS, there's at least a day longer when USPS is involved. "Quality of Care". I recently heard a local clerk laughing when she admitted "I don't tamper with the mail... except 'Mr. X's' political mail. HE gets mail from [politician(s)] & sometimes I'll draw 'frowny faces' on it or if I'm bogged, I just let that stiff wait." Also over-heard a carrier joke about the names they have for "parcel tosses", depending on size, weight, & yes, destination. My personal experiences include going to the post office to retrieve my own parcels to find them on a filthy floor, often wet from rain or snow, stored on the corner of the box, &c. Speaking with the clerk I've been told, "We do what we have to, considering what we have to work with. You got your box. Right?" I'll add: Mature, responsible confidentiality... None.

USPS has specific "rules" about not speaking about peoples' mail but many has been the time when I've heard a local clerk, on duty, at the counter, discussing "late notices", political mailings, company bills, personal postcards, &c. across the counter, referring to 3rd parties not present. Complaints sent to USPS result in rote responses & the habit never changes.

They deliver letters all the way to big packages just like the bigger delivery services but at a cheaper rate if you have a day or two to spare. The boxes and envelopes are mostly cared for and not damaged by delivery. Sometimes if you have a lot of mail and soft packages the mailbox will be overstuffed but other than that the services they provide are top notch.

Several just had a partial letter and a line. Some had all the above and no date of delivery. I tried to complain. Waited on hold 4 times longer than an hour. Went into local post office to complain. Agent's response, "What do you want to do?" I stated, "How about my money back?" "Oh we don't offer that." How about trying to get these people to do their job and when we pay 8 to 20 dollars at least check the return card for a legible name and date. And that was me being ridiculous. Speaking to them on the phone, I learned basically there are no guarantees with 1-3 days priority mail and I was SOL. (Fortunately the bank is stopping payment on the check.)

I've had issues with the delivery person not re-delivering packages/knocking on the door to begin with in Philadelphia too but that's easier to let slide, a package can't just be stuffed in a mailbox and perhaps they're overworked. This however is an unacceptable final straw. I should think mailing a letter from Philadelphia to NYC would be a cakewalk for a mailing service but either Philly USPS is inept or USPS in general just can't hack it anymore. If it's important to you, don't make my mistake and send it through USPS, it's a crap shoot that it will get there.

On Dec 20th 2019, I paid $10 for 2 day shipping to send a package to a friend staying at her mother's house in Oregon for the holidays. The estimated delivery date was 12/23. The package was mistakenly sent to Washington, and stayed at a facility there for a WHOLE MONTH. During this time, the tracking number claimed the package was "in transit," which led me to believe the mistake was being remedied. Meanwhile, my friend went back home to California after the holidays. The package is still in limbo, but now even if it did end up at the address I sent it to, my friend would not be there to receive it, because of a mistake made BY THE POSTAL SERVICE.

I wanted this mistake fixed, so I called customer service, and they told me my only option was an intercept of the package, which is going to cost me $25 IN ADDITION to the $10 I already paid for a service that was NEVER FULFILLED. I have tried to get this mistake fixed through other means, but nobody has been able to help me. I am now forced to pay $25 to fix a problem I DID NOT CAUSE. This is an absolutely garbage institution. I will be using any other means I can to send packages from now on - the postal service cannot be trusted to send packages on time, to where they need to go, or to fix problems they themselves created.

I understand that sending packages around Christmas time can lead to misplaced packages. Although that is infuriating, I understand that is a risk I took sending a package during that time. What is completely unacceptable is the USPS's inability to correct a problem of their own making, and charging me $25 for me to do it myself.

The receipt is marked C.O.D., STREET DELIVERY and was insured. Sounds clear, simple and normal procedure, right? Oh No It's Not! The package arrived damaged and so it begins.

First the Lula Ga. Post Office reads the receipt (Street Delivery) so they calls the resident to come in and pickup the package. Second the Lula Ga. Post Office reads the receipt (C.O.D.) so they did not collect the (Cash On Delivery) and gives the package to the resident who opened it (without paying the C.O.D.). The package was damaged and the vintage auto part broken. The resident contacted me about the problem. Third the Lula Ga. Post Office reads the receipt (Insured) so they decided NOT to contact me about the problem and the package / part is put “somewhere back in the back room” their words.

When I followed up to find out what was going on (no payment for the part) the Lula Ga. Post Office THEN informed me the package was damaged, the part was broken, it was somewhere back in the back room and they would send it back if they could find it. Oh and they would not cover the insurance on the package because the C.O.D. payment was not taken by the post office, the resident had signed for it and that was that. WHAT??? Now I’m out $150.00 for the part, $38.75 for delivery and insurance and stuck with a lump of coal costing me $188.75. Sooo if you plan on using the Wonderful USPS services this holiday season. The USPS somehow manages to get worse and worse as time goes by. Not a single one of many packages I have ordered lately has been on time, nor has the tracking been worth a damn. It might get scanned at one stop, not scanned at another, or never scanned, but it's never accurate. You can check tracking on ebay, then check the same tracking on USPS Informed Delivery, then check it again on USPS Tracking, and get three different tracking results. Why bother even having a tracking system that can't be monitored for employee adherence to the rules?

I sent a package from the middle of my state to right across the border to the next state, which should've taken two days maximum to deliver. It got to the large city closest to the recipient (maybe 30 miles from there), so I was confident it would be delivered shortly. Nope - they sent it to Alaska! Two days to Alaska, two days back, and another overnight before delivering it. Even something that is a direct route to my house takes so long I could strap it to a dog's back and get it here faster. The USPS is a joke anymore, and it didn't used to be that way, and by some twisted magic they find ways to continue to get worse.
