I am very upset! I sat at home, checked the tracking information on FedEx online, delivery was expected by 4:30 PM today, 03/02/2010! At 3:59 PM, there was a notice that delivery wasn't attempted! I didn't even receive the common courtesy of a phone call!
What the heck is going on? I used to drive a truck and I sure couldn't pick and choose when I delivered to my customers! I have a friend who is an oil truck driver and he has been out delivering in our area all day!
It must be nice to up and say, oh I don't feel like delivering, and just ignore your customers. Friends who were out today saw FedEx trucks in the area. So, where is my package? Am I not important enough to deliver to? USPS delivered today? Are they a better choice for shipping? I am so disgusted that I wasted the day sitting here, with no notification, and waited for nothing!
I would appreciate some sort of compassion or compensation for the time I wasted here finding out 30 minutes before expected delivery that their driver decided I wasn't important enough to deliver to or even make a quick phone call to!
I've used FedEx many times in the past, but I assure you that I will consider my shipping options very closely in the future. I have a business also, and this package was very important. I certainly wouldn't treat my customers with such disregard. I traveled when the snow was 14" deep here to care for my customers!
Has FedEx gotten so big that they have forgotten who's behind them, and how to care for and appreciate loyal customers? Thank you! An entire day's wages from my business! About $300 worth! Along with feeling completely unimportant and disregarded!

After signing up with Amazon prime yesterday, I decided to order one of my client work orders from Amazon. During this order, they had an option for next day Saturday delivery, which is exactly what I needed, so I purchased. I also work another job at night where I get off at 4a m, so I decided to just stay up and clean my house, before you knew it was 3 pm and no FedEx. So, I decided to check the tracking on Amazon and noticed that FedEx said they tried to deliver at 11ish which is a "bold face lie". My son showed around 11 am and did not leave until 12ish headed for the Smithsonian Museum.
This order was for a contract work order for a client of mine that I was trying to fulfill for Sunday morning. Since FedEx did not fulfill their side of the contract, I lost my contract and $650 in prepping hours. I canceled the package and told them to just send it back. I don't need it now that you got me fired from my job and I lost money out of my own pockets. I will never get anything delivered from FedEx. USPS or UPS is a lot more reliable, and I don't think my word and integrity can take anymore beatings from this unreliable company. They also offered to deliver on Monday, which I think is a smack in the face. That's not what I paid for!

FedEx in Ukraine have not a post license that is why the parcel service is not preferable for them. They don't want to have a private person to deal with. They don't have even courier to deliver parcels. Receiver must visit their office to deal. FedEx must warn you that they have no post license in different countries and warn that the receiver will have a many troubles. Several times I could not receive the parcels sent by FedEx because they can not deal with private persons in Ukraine. FedEx takes the money for shipping. The parcels were returned to sender (second payment). So, you'll pay twice for one parcel which will not be delivered. You buy the troubles for your money. It resulted to about $500 lost because of FedEx’s deception.

I waited all day yesterday, the 15th, because they said my package was on the truck and would be delivered. They never came even though they said they were in the neighborhood at 1:22 or so. I had a note on the door that I was home and no tag was left that they were here. Now the package has been returned and I have to go through this whole affair again. My husband is in the hospital and I lost a whole day waiting for FedEx. This driver should be fired!

I am very dissatisfied with FedEx delivery service. I have been tracking a package that was scheduled for delivery on 1/12/10. I have noticed an "exception" was entered twice referring to nobody being home for delivery on a package that doesn't require a signature. We have been home waiting for this package (which does not require a signature and can be left). I have made several calls to FedEx in reference to the package and was assured it would be delivered and I'm still waiting. They were not sure why it wasn't delivered the previous day. I know the driver never attempted to deliver the package because we were home and secondly, they never left a slip either day that they claimed they tried to deliver. I called FedEx customer service again and asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that they were busy at the moment and would return my call in 15 minutes. Of course, that never happened.

I ordered a package on 2/9/2010, paid for one day shipping. It was shipped on 2/10/2010 and supposed to have been delivered to my home by 2/11/2010. Here it is, 2/12/2010 and still no delivery. I called and complained. I was assured it would be delivered by no later than 5PM today. Well, it's now 7:35PM. Nothing. Get this, the facility it's supposedly sitting at is only 35 or so minutes away from my home! Another FedEx man delivered another item today, who had a longer drive from his facility than the one that's closer to me. How funny is that? Why pay for one day shipping when you get it in the 5-7 day shipping? This is a joke! I'm a full-time student as well as a full-time mom. I paid for one day shipping because I needed the item quickly. Here I am now without the item needed past the time I needed it.

I have had dealings with FedEx twice, and so far FedEx has a perfect record of incompetence. The first time, my brother sent me a computer which FedEx just outright stole (when I lived in Louisville, KY), and of course the complaint got nowhere. This time, someone sent me an important document, but not worth stealing, so they just took it to the wrong address. I don't know why any one uses FedEx. They are nothing but thieves and punks. Do they just hire felons? FedEx can have one of their crooked attorneys call me, but I don't see why.

A Fedex truck came to deliver two packages and pulled up past our driveway into our yard. The truck ended up getting stuck and so he tried to turn around in our yard and got stuck again. My neighbor pulled the truck down the driveway with their tractor.
Fedex is wanting to pour some top soil down, cover with seed, and be done with the situation. I do not agree that it will take care of the problem. I think the soil will get wet and will end up with what we have now, which is a mess.

I was supposed to get a delivery Tuesday, 2/2/2010. I was called from 678 290-7047 for an apartment #. There are no apartments where I live. Promised delivery on Wednesday, did not happen. Thursday, 2/4/2010, I took off for delivery and it never happened. Lost days pay. Here it is Friday 2/5/2010 and I called at 4:33 pm because I still did not receive the equipment for my daughter to use for school. I was told the driver came at 9:57 am. Guess what? He did not ring the door bell and left a notice.
I don't understand why I need to leave a note on the door, saying I am home ring the bell, duh! Isn't that what the door bell is for. I was reading the paper and other stuff from 9:00 to noon and no one rang the bell. After this time, I had visitors and they rang the bell and I answered the door. FedEx needs to train their employees much better than the ones I have has to deal with this week. I will never deal w/a seller that ships via FedEx again. Their service sucks!

I shipped a Krell stereo amplifier in the original box and packaging as well as some extra bubble wrap stuffed around it for extra padding. The amp was insured for $1,800. It arrived damaged. It was dropped on one of the corners and is now useless. A claim was filed and it took them 18 days to deny the claim and close the case. They never called to explain anything. I just happened to log onto my FedEx.com account and notice that it had been denied on January 26. I am getting nowhere with them. They will not give me direct communication with the particular claims representative that handled the case.

On December 23, 2009, I sent a piece of coin-jewelry from Arizona to Oklahoma via FedEx overnight delivery with $500 insurance. The recipient told FedEx that the item had not arrived on 12/26/10. When I contacted FedEx, they said they would continue looking for the item only if I do not put in a claim. The online tracking showed the item still out for delivery. I called FedEx a few times over the next week, and they said they were still looking for the item, and the on-line tracking was still showing the item out for delivery.
Finally on 1/8/10, the online tracking was changed to delivered. When I contacted the recipient, they said the item never arrived. I called FedEx to file a claim. They said they would have someone call me back. Nobody from FedEx called me back. I called FedEx daily over the next week to file a claim and each time I was told the person handling that was not available and that they would have someone call me back.
Finally, on 1/20/10, I was told my claim had been denied. I advised FedEx that I had not even filed a claim. They said the recipient had filed a claim 2 weeks ago, and it was denied because they don't insure coins. I advised the FedEx person that the item I had sent was not a coin, but a piece of jewelry you would wear around your neck. I spoke with a Manager and was told the same thing. I advised the manager that I had been trying to file a claim since 1/8/10 and that the item I had sent was jewelry. I told the manager the the recipient could not possibly know what I had placed in the FedEx mailer as he was not there when I sent it.
The manager, Mrs. Maxie **, told me if I sent a copy of the jewelry invoice, she would settle the claim and get me my $500. On 1/20/10, I emailed her a copy of the original invoice that specifically said the item was a piece of jewelry. On 1/27/10, she emailed me back saying they were denying my claim because they believe that even though the FedEx deliveryman did not mark the item as delivered until over 2 weeks after it was supposed to be delivered. They believed him when he said he left the item on the recipients porch and that she had decide the jewelry I sent was not jewelry. In other words, they refused to cover their loss of the item even though insurance had been purchased. FedEx is just a scam company with employees that continually lie to their customers. The jewelry that FedEx lost was worth nearly $1,000. It was insured for $500 with FedEx, but they refused to pay-out.

A dresser, in a 100lbs box from Amazon.com, was supposed to have been delivered on 1/21/10 2-day Express. When I checked the tracking information, it showed it would not be delivered until 1/22 yesterday. When I arrived home from work at 5:30, I checked the tracking status and FedEx claims to have delivered the package at 11:48AM. I was home for lunch at noon and there was no package at my house or any notification on my front door. I called the FedEx 800 number and spoke to a rep explaining the situation. I told him that my next door neighbor had put a FedEx package inside my house, which had a notification on the front door and arrived ground, a lamp shade. The same next door neighbor was also working outside his house all day and only saw one FedEx truck, the lamp shade delivery.
There was no 100lbs box sitting outside my front door or anywhere on the premises of my property. He said they would need to contact the driver and have him retrace his route as to where he left the package. I got a call back about 1 hour later. Dan, who was extremely rude and without saying so in so many words accused me of having the merchandise at my house. I am almost 66 years old and certainly cannot move a 100lbs container by myself. Can anyone else for that matter without a dolly? I was told that I would receive an update this morning. I had to call at 10:00AM as there was no call. I was told by this rep to be patient, they were working on it and there were no new updates. It would be Monday at the earliest before I would receive any communication. He also added that if I had not heard from FedEx in 5 days, I should file a claim!
My conclusion on this situation is that the package was delivered to the wrong address. I checked the order confirmation I received from Amazon.com and the address is correct. The driver and FedEx are unwilling to take responsibility for an error on their part and are definitely stalling for time and dragging this out as long as they possibly can to avoid any financial outlay on their part. I have paid for a dresser, plus FedEx Express shipping charges for merchandise that was never delivered. In the meantime, I have paid for a dresser plus FedEx Express shipping charges for merchandise that was never delivered.

I clicked the tracking link in my e-mail and it said that my package was delivered at 1:35 pm and was left at the front door. I was home all day and I would have heard the delivery truck in my yard and my dog would have barked. I filed a claim and supposedly the driver is going to call me about it. It is going on three days now and every time I call FedEx I am told that they are working on it.
Obviously, the driver left the package at the wrong house. This goes to show you how *** and *** these drivers are. My address is clearly shown on my mailbox. I have a sign in the front yard with my address on it and I also left a note stating to deliver the package to the trailer in the back of the property. I'm sorry, but you do not deliver a package to a house if you aren't 100% sure it is the correct address. These drivers need to read more carefully (or read, period). Obviously, the house you left my package at was not a trailer! FedEx employees are so *** and very unreliable.

On November 4, 2009, I sent photos/negatives of photos to my sister in the US. I sent it through FedEx. I received an Airway bill, and kept tracking the same online. On November 6, 2009, the package reached Alaska, and was held there. My sister inquired what happened to the package, and she was given a reason that the commercial invoice was unreadable, and cannot be released. We inquired on how the package will be released and FedEx Alaska required me certain forms. I have not filled out, nor signed here. These forms were supposedly supplied to me by the FedEx Tagaytay, when I made a contract with them to ship my goods. However, the same was not provided, nor was I informed the need to fill out the same.
So, FedEx Alaska asked me to write them a request to release the package, and send it back to the Philippines. I did not. This letter will imply that I have waived whatever liability FedEx has. I contacted the call center of FedEx, and called them everyday, sometimes more than once a day. I incurred telephone expenses, and have not focused on my work. All they can offer is "sorry for the inconvenience" excuse. By the last week of December, I was extremely worried that my package has not yet returned to me. I kept calling the call center. They informed me that the package was already returned to FedEx Tagaytay, and at the disposal of one Solano. I inquired about it, but I was unsuccessful, and still they have not returned the package to me. I even sent messages to one Solano, who is manning the FedEx Tagaytay branch, but to no avail.
It was December 30, 2009, when an officer of the "barangay" went to our house, with the mother of one Solano, bringing the package to my house. To my horror, it was the first time I faced with authorities. Why did it have to happen? Am I a criminal, and this mother of Solano needed escort from this official? Was this to scare me? I did not sign any receipt, because to me, FedEx did not only made a breach of contract, but rather committed a crime of negligence, and in our law, swindling is punishable. FedEx cannot explain to me what and why this happened. I have consulted and hired the services of lawyer to protect my rights. I feel violated, not only my property, but as a person. I deserve more than an explanation. FedEx has to pay for this. The photos and negatives have sentimental value to me and my sister. They made a breach of contract, and cause great irreparable damage to us.
The consequences include the photos/ negatives, which were supposed to be used in a presentation for November 10 (in a birthday party) that were not delivered, also, the cost of shipment, long distance and mobile calls to the call center of FedEx. Not to mention the time I spent for updating and following up, my blood pressure and stress level went up, and almost had a seizure from my epilepsy, and the cost of lawyer's fees.,

I sent my computer to a friend to do some repairs and we used FedEx ground. The trip there was uneventful. The return trip however has been ridiculous. It shipped early Monday, Jan. 11th and was to arrive Tuesday, Jan. 12th. According to the FedEx tracker, it arrived in the Burlington, WA hub (which is 1/2 hour away from where I live) at 6:39AM and supposedly went out for delivery at 9:25 on Tuesday Jan. 12th. It never arrived and I continually checked the tracker until about 11:30PM to see if there was any info, but found none. The next morning when I checked, somebody had made a note that at 8:27AM on Monday the 12th, "Customer not available or Business Closed" delivery exception. Three things wrong with that: I was home all day, the time noted was almost an hour before the package was put on the delivery truck and the package did not require a signature to be delivered.
I called 1-800 GO FED EX three times over the course of the day. The first two times, they assured me it would arrive today (now Wed Jan. 13th). Well, 7:30PM rolled around and still, no computer. So when I called the third time, the person told me we need to do a trace on it because there were no notes made for that day that it was on the truck and so it may be lost. He also told me that when notes are posted, sometimes it may take 11 hours for them to update and show on the tracker. Now, it's after midnight. It's Jan. 14th and I checked the tracker once again. There is a note posted as Jan. 13th, 9:40PM for delivery exception saying "Unable to locate address-street number". What a joke. I live on a dead end street that has a whopping total of 5 houses. My house sits close to the street, I have numbers on my house and numbers on my mailbox which is right in front of the house.
On the same day, this delivery was due to arrive (Jan. 12th) we received a package from UPS without incident. Over the Christmas holidays, we received numerous packages without incidence from UPS and USPS. Over the past couple years, I've received many, many packages without incidence. I even had a note on my front door all day today telling the driver I was here and where to leave the package. It's all very fishy and doesn't add up, I don't know what's going on but none of the tracker info is truthful. The notes they're making are completely bogus and this is the last time I will ever use FedEx. My fears revolve around what kind of condition my computer will arrive in.

On Jan. 11, 2010, I shipped a package priority overnight from Spokane, WA to Carson City, NV and advised the receiver of the shipment. At 15:30 on the 12th of January, I was contacted by the receiver that the package had not yet been received. Tracking the package, I found that the package had been sent to the hub in Memphis, TN. I see no way that the package would ever arrive the next day due to circuitous route FedEx chose to send my package. It was a time-sensitive package which contained important documents which still at this time have not reached their destination. All this and a hefty rate to achieve a delivery time comparable to a USPS delivery. Time will tell if their claims office lives up to their promise to pledge of making restitution for not honoring their delivery promises.

I was expecting a package delivery by FedEx that never made it to my home. I received only one final door tag notifying me that the delivery guy came and didn't find me. I am pretty sure that the delivery guy never came for the two past delivery attempts. I never found those door tags. More frustrating is when I checked online that FedEx will attempt that final delivery. I left my work early to make sure I get the package. I was at home between 3:30 pm and 7 pm and never heard any door bell ringing at any moment. Not even a knock on the door. When I left home in the evening I found the famous door tag stating that they came at 3:48pm. I was at home waiting for it at that time.
Finally, I had to drive 25 miles to pick up the package myself. I did that on my personal time, loosing 1 hour and 30 minutes of my week-end driving instead of enjoying the company of my family. How on earth FedEx ground come to Boston (where I live), don't deliver the package (for some reason), and still end-up storing it 25 miles away from my residence? I am sure it makes some great economical sense for FedEx to do that, but this is absolutely ridiculous from a customer point of view. They own hundreds of FedEx centers closer to my home but they still make me drive 50 mile on a week end. I lost time that I could have spent with my family on a week end. I went to the TracFone site online, ordered two promotional TracFones, one for me and one for my daughter. I had TracFone deduct the cost of one of the phones from my bank account, and the cost of the other phone from my daughter's bank account. I have the order numbers, tracking numbers from TracFone and their carrier FedEx, for the orders that were placed in October and shipped out on Oct. 16, 2009. I was following the tracking and since I was off from work sick, I was available at my apartment to sign for the phones. However, the phones were shipped but were not delivered to me. I did not authorize FedEx to leave my order with anyone else and did not give them permission to let anyone else sign for the phones. We are new to the area and do not know our neighbors. The phones were delivered to the wrong apartment, signed by someone that I do not know.
The TracFone people said it was FedEx's responsibility. FedEx said that they talked to their driver and he said that he remembered distinctly leaving the phones with a tall, light-skinned black woman who signed for the phones. Her name and signature are on the FedEx sign/box. I do not know this person. The apartment manager said that the apartment that it was apparently delivered to, one of the residents is an older man in a wheel chair.
Again, I do not know these people. After much hassling with calls and being transferred to many different people at FedEx and TracFone, and many days of dealing with this and being put on hold, promises of being call back, and no follow through, FedEx said that they sent a refund for the phones to TracFone and that they would have to issue me the refund, the approximately $87+ that they deducted from our bank accounts.
When I contacted TracFone again, same big run-around with no resolve, even contacting corporate that promised follow-up. I have not, as of yet, heard anything back from them, and all of this has been going on now for three months now. I am still out $87+, do not have the two phones I ordered from TracFone. I was told by TracFone that because they have a record that the phones were delivered and received, and activated, that they probably wouldn't issue a refund (that was in the beginning), at that time they deactivated the phones. But since then, the people that stole (signed for the phones) have reactivated the phones and they are actively being used. I even called the local police telling them about someone receiving our property and claiming it as their own. The police declined to get involved. TracFone led me to believe that this would be taken care of, but it has been three months.
I really don't think they plan on doing anything about it, or it would have been taken care of by now. We actually have two other TracFones with a different area code. We wanted these new phones for the new area code we are living in. So, unfortunately, both TracFone and FedEx failed us. So buyers, beware, when ordering online. If you are contemplating ordering from TracFone and items that may be delivered by FedEx, stress to them that you don't want anyone else signing for your ordered merchandise, or you may be out money, and merchandise, with no one to help you to resolve your problems.

Since that time, I have received several packages always delivered to my correct address until recently. On December 21, 2009, my friend in Massachusetts shipped a laptop computer to me for Christmas because I am also an online student. The address he gave the shipper was my correct address, but the label that the shipper printed was incorrect. My friend informed him that my address was incorrect. The shipper told him just to scribble it out on the waybill, make the correction and it will get to the right place.
I was given the tracking number to monitor the shipment and watched for the package. During that time, I also received several UPS packages that were delivered on time. On December 26, since I had not received the package yet, I checked the tracking number and it indicated that the package had been delivered (on December 24) and was placed on the porch in front of the door. I did not realize that my friend had not requested a signature on the package, but we had shipped and received several packages between us with no issues. The package did not arrive at my house and I contacted FedEx customer support to inquire. They placed an inquiry for a driver follow-up and informed me that the package was delivered to my old address, which is an empty house! She also said that if no one called me back by Tuesday, they would proceed with a claim.
Bear in mind that I receive, on average, 4-6 FedEx packages a month at my correct address so there is no reason this package should have been delivered to the old address. On the 25th, I received a call from Bob at FedEx to confirm that I had requested a driver follow-up and gave me details on the circumstances. He was very rude and acted as if I was at fault for the package missing because my address was incorrect. I told him that I had changed my address with FedEx long ago and receive packages all the time at my correct address. He then proceeded to tell me that it is highly unlikely that I will receive the package because the sender did not request a signature.
I told him I was aware of the lack of a signature requirement, however, I have still received a lot of packages at the correct address with no signature requirement and never had a problem. He said he was delivering according to the address on the package and it was the wrong address (liar). I know it was correct because my friend scribbled out the wrong one and wrote the correct address on the package! Instead of looking on the package, he looked at the manifest that is printed out for each driver prior to deliveries being made and went strictly by that. I have to wonder how many other wrong addresses they have delivered to since they obviously can't read package labels.
His response was that FedEx is not liable for misdelivery of packages and there is nothing they can do about this. I was livid with this guy's attitude and the manner in which he spoke to me. I contacted my friend to let him know what Bob said. He said he would check with the shipper he used to ship the package and see what he could do from his end. There were no packages on the doorstep of the empty house when I checked and it's clear that the package was gone. The following morning I again called customer support to see if any further progress had been made on the investigation. The lady told me that the case had been closed! I then filed another claim for a misdelivered package to generate some type of attention since I was getting nowhere with the driver or the guy who called me. He was not the actual driver, but made me think he was.
This morning I received another call from the "driver," but it was a different person from whom I had spoken to before. He said that the package is gone and that they cannot change my address in their system, and that it has to be done at the shipper's end. My friend checked with the shipper and he was told they cannot change the address in the system either. Needless to say, the guy I talked to this morning was a bit more pleasant, but no more helpful than the other one. Still I was told there is nothing that can be done since the package has been delivered and is not located there anymore, but that I should just have my friend send a replacement.
Now I don't know about most of the people in this economy, but not everyone can afford to go out and buy a replacement laptop for one that was lost by FedEx! In this city, there have been a number of fraudulent practices by mail carriers and delivery people so, of course, I have a sneaking suspicion that the package was not even placed on the porch at the empty house because it was so obvious that no one lived there. Perhaps I'm wrong to judge, but the way this was handled seemed incredibly suspicious. I am not going to rule out the possibility of shipment fraud because this is a well-known business.
Anyway, I have since contacted another representative (who was very nice by the way) to verify that my address is correct in their system and it was. I don't understand how the package could have been delivered to the wrong address then. I have concluded that the laptop is gone and that FedEx will not honor any claims that are made, but you can bet that my friend will pursue it to the top if necessary because he has "people." My message to others is do not use FedEx for shipping. They are dishonest, rude and their business ethics suck! They don't care about customers or the losses that are experienced as a result of their carelessness. Meeting their delivery quota each day is what their goal is because that is what determines their pay. The almighty dollar rules again!

Dec 23, 2009 at my residence, my wife found an attempt to deliver tag on the front door from FedEx. My wife was home "all" day inside the house and heard no one ring the doorbell or knock. On that tag it says that you will try to deliver Dec 24, 2009 before 1700 hours. So, again my wife made sure she did not go any place and even put a note on the door stating that she was home. Now this is Christmas Eve and my wife needed to go out, "but did not leave because of your notice".
When I got home from work around 3:00 pm, we made sure that we kept an eye out for the FedEx delivery person. Now we got to 1700 hours and still no FedEx. The delivery tag states it's from Verison. Now we get to Monday 12/28/09 and my wife is a senior and not a good driver. The FedEx office is over 25 miles away from our residence and that would be 50 miles away and round trip.
I took the time to go to the FedEx on Havana and contacted the clerk. The clerk said that they had delivered that package. I said, “No, you have not.” She said it was addressed to **. I said, “Oh that’s great. That's my neighbor. I live at **,” which now shows that the driver cannot even get his numbers right when we have them on the mailbox, and large numbers on the house. So, your driver lied and left a message for us to wait for a delivery on 12/24/09 all day and part of Christmas Eve - really it’s bad business. It really put my wife out because she had things to do Christmas Eve before that evening with our family coming to our house. I contacted the manager there at the Havana office and he said he was sorry.

We had ordered phones for Christmas presents that were shipped out on Dec. 20 (on 2-day express). We tracked shipment online and also called. We were told the package would be delivered on the 23rd between 11AM-7PM. After no package by 8PM, I tracked online and the driver had commented - no such address. I spent the next 2 hours on the phone with numerous customer reps. None were of any help at all. One even complained to me that she had to work 10 hours on Christmas eve, so my issue may not be as big of an issue as I thought it was.
In the end I was told I could have the package held at my local terminal and pick it up there or wait for it on Christmas eve for delivery between 11AM and 7PM, which was not an option as we were going out of town. We elected to pick up at the terminal (a 40-mile one way trip). Finally picked the package up at the terminal the next morning after showing the FedEx employee my picture ID to prove that I live at the address that FedEx said did not exist.

On Dec 23, 2009, I called FedEx 1-800 number and they said expect between 10am and 2pm. I waited until 3:30pm and no package. I called back and was told for sure today delivery at 5:30pm, no package. I called back and was assured I was to get package today! She said she called the branch. I waited all day, no package. I called again on Dec. 24th at 9am and was told package was at the branch and was going to be delivered. But after two days of promises and lies, I told them to hold it at the branch and I would pick it up. I drove one way 60 miles to be sure I got the package and did pick it up at 11:00am on Dec. 24th.
FedEx should have told me about the delay instead of stringing me along. Very poor. Also, try to get a phone # to any kind of manager, branch or regional, to let them know what's going on. It's impossible. They don't have a way for customers to get satisfaction. The operators on 1-800 numbers are like parrots. They say memorized speech over and over and tell you there is nothing they can do, but they will put in a note to the branch you're having trouble with for them to look at. Do you actually believe anybody is going to tell on themselves to a higher authority that they are doing a bad job? Please! Any stockholders looking at this? Dump your stock now! This time I did not see the driver or the truck, so I didn't know there was a package on my step until a couple hours later, when I saw someone took it, got into a car and drove away. To ship the small parcel to Belgium, I was quoted: $41.83 by 1st Class International Parcel; $63.93 by Priority International Parcel; $71.67 by Fed Ex with normal delivery; $76.32 by Fed Ex Priority; $92.79 by UPS Express; $94.87 by UPS Priority. These quotes were obtained by the shipper a few days before the actual shipping occurred.
On the day of shipping, the box was re-weighed and measured and I was quoted $65.67 by the clerk. Since I had a FedEx account, she suggested just using my own account for billing. I was told it might be a little less because I had an account with FedEx. Note, the cost quoted is written on the enclosed Waybill.
The bill from FedEx came in March and was for $131.04. Obviously, I was unhappy. This was not the rate I was quoted twice and it would have been far less expensive to ship by any other source. I contacted FedEx and attempted to explain what had occurred. I offered to pay the $65.67 I was quoted, but there was no response until I got a collection letter from NCO. I will pay $65.67 as quoted, no more and I want this removed from collection status on my credit report.
I will never do business with FedEx again. I will send this letter to all the credit reporting agencies for their files. FedEx has a great way of fostering customer relationships.

Calls to FedEx repeatedly tell me that an attempt was made, but nobody was home. I asked them about a door tag and if they had the number. Nope. Another attempt will be made on Monday or I can drive 100 miles round-trip to retrieve it myself. I would not be so upset about this if it did not happen repeatedly. I totally agree. I had a package arriving from US to Egypt. It arrived in Egypt after 3 days, which is good but I had to wait 2 extra days before seeing the status changing to clearance delay. I was just waiting after until I decided to search for FedEx number in Egypt, which was wrong on the FedEx's website. It seems that they don't update their page and I received a notice by mail that my package was held at the customs. I checked the number to call them to understand why they were sending me such notice. Is there something required from me?! The phone number on the notice is also wrong! Well, I finally managed to get a number for FedEx Egypt. After 3 days of waiting, when I called, I was told that it was held on customs. I asked if anything is required from me, the answer was "no". I told the guy, "So why did I receive a notice?!" He asked me to hold, then came back advising that I should make a delegation for FedEx to clear the package (Why did no one told me that before?).
I did and faxed it to them. The next day, I received a second warning notice from FedEx that my package will be returned to the sender or destroyed! I contacted the FedEx number again and explained the whole story again, that I provided a delegation yesterday (it seems that they don't keep record of customers calling or able to track anything). He advised that this second notice is for telling me that it is held in the customs. The next day, I received another papers from FedEx, which is a copy of the request done by FedEx for the customs and customs feedback. I can tell you that I have spent almost 3 hours trying to understand what those papers were about and what should I do with them.
As usual, I contacted FedEx and as usual, they told me that it is pending clearance from customs, so I have to repeat the whole story with my contacts with FedEx. After that, she told me that if something is needed from me, they will contact me. I asked her, "Why did I receive papers from FedEx?" She hung a little bit before asking me to hold. After some long time, she came back and told me that she will put me in contact with their guy in the airport who advised me that those papers need to be signed by some government party to allow my goods to get into the country (like I was supposed to know that by my own!) and I have to do it by myself as it is outside the airport!
He advised that once I have the approval, I should contact him so he sent me someone to collect the approval (thank God). I managed to get the approval two hours after (good thing when dealing with government entity). I called the same number and asked again what was going on, adding what I am requesting now. As I was leading the whole process, I know what is going on more than them. She advised me to call the call center (I didn't know that the number I got was the customs department within FedEx). I called the call center and explained what was going on and what I am requesting. He advised me my details so he can send someone to pick up the approval (He seemed a new starter as there was someone beside him telling him what to ask me. It was surprising that they didn't get my info by themselves specially that I provided them the tracking number where my info is listed.).
Well the courier got and took the approval. Two days later, it is still the same status. No one is contacting me to let me know what is happening and the call center doesn't know anything (I believe the only tool they have is the tracking tool that I can check from the net, which is not very clear to understand on what is going on.). I decided to write this complaint on FedEx as I'm still not getting any concrete step nor do they keep me updated. I forgot to mention that it is currently delayed from the initial expected date by 5 days and that I chose "international priority service" to get it soon, but for sure I regret to have chosen FedEx for this shipment and I regret more that I have chosen "international priority service". It is really slow and I still don't know how much will they surcharge me.

I shipped a crystal vase to NY. Before shipping I called FedEx and described the product to be shipped and the value of $7000. I was advised how I should have it packed and that it can be insured for the value of the vase as long as it is packed correctly to their standards. I was told by their customer service that if everything is done properly, the package would be covered. Of course, the vase was broken during shipping. This is a 20-lb crystal vase so it is not something extremely thin and fragile and packed with about 5-6 inches of foam. I got the runaround with FedEx and they claim that they will only cover $1000 regardless of declared value or amount of insurance paid. Now, they have the vase and are "trying" to locate it to be returned to me which has been going on for 3 weeks. They outright admitted to guilt saying that it was packed correctly and was broken by them but sorry we are **.

I purchased an Apple notebook from ExperCom.com and it was supposed to have been delivered FedEx Ground on 7/29/09. I tracked the package around 2:15 PM and it stated it was delivered. Someone named ** signed for it. There is no ** at my home. I first spoke to a Customer Service Rep at the main number at FedEx who told me it was delivered to the given address on the label and was signed for. I told her there was no one at my home by that name and that my son had been waiting for it all afternoon. She told me that it would take 24 hours to get a hold of the driver to receive word on the delivery.
I then called back about an hour later and they were able to get me over to the service station the driver worked out of. I spoke with the manager LaSon, who told me that he had tried to get in contact with the driver as he had already got word of my issue. He said the driver had not called him back but he would be back in the office in about half an hour and that I would receive a call on the update.
I called back maybe 45 minutes later and the manager had left for the day and left no information with the next shift as to what was going on. I had to then explain to the next person (Shawn) my issue. He then tried to get a hold of the driver at that time but the driver apparently already came back to the office and went home for the day. In the meantime, I have no idea where my computer is nor does it seem like anybody cares about the situation. As it stands, I am going to the FedEx Service Center in the morning and speak to the manager in person as this is totally unacceptable.

On June 30th, 2009, my fiance sent a package through FedEx containing a 14K, three-stone diamond engagement ring and two lipsticks from Montreal, QC. The package was picked up from Anjou, QC, brought to Mirabel, QC, where it arrived at the FedEx Memphis, TN facility. After a two day clearance delay in Memphis, I received the package in Kenner, LA on Friday, July 3rd, 2009, at 8:42am.
When I opened package, the ring was not in the package, but the two lipsticks were. I immediately contacted FedEx about my missing ring. I was put in contact with a FedEx customer relations representative who began a search for my missing ring. Since it was a holiday weekend, I did not receive any updates about the status of my missing ring until Monday, July 6th, 2009. At 5:00pm EST, I was told by the FedEx representative that my ring could not be located and gave me the option of beginning the claim process. I was reluctant to stop searching for the ring, so I left that decision up to my fiance, since he is the one who bought and shipped the ring. My fiance told FedEx that he would like their organization to search a little while longer for the ring.
After searching the rest of that week, FedEx told my fiance that the ring could not be located and was offered to begin the claim process. My fiance started the claim process on Tuesday, July 14th, 2009 and concluded the claim process on Thursday, July 16th, 2009. My fiance insured the package for $500. Although the ring’s actual worth was more than $500, my fiance was told by FedEx that this was the maximum amount the package could be insured for. My fiance received a check on Friday, July 24th, 2009 for $564.00, the $500 insurance amount plus the shipping costs.
The official story is that FedEx lost my ring. But obviously, one of FedEx's employees stole the ring since it was the only item that was missing from the package. Because of FedEx's predatory insurance and claim policies and their organization "misplacing" (stealing) my ring in the first place, my fiance lost a great deal of money by not receiving the full amount of the ring.
After this entire experience, I have to say that I feel doubly victimized by FedEx. Not only was our merchandise (the ring) stolen from us, but we were also cheated out of our money by only receiving a small portion of the ring’s worth. Receiving an engagement ring is a dream for many women. Unfortunately, FedEx has destroyed that dream for me, has stolen from me and my fiance. Needless to say, I will not be using FedEx ever again and will actively try to avoid ordering from companies that use their delivery service.

I did not receive or sign for it and much to my surprise, there is not much a consumer can do to prove otherwise. This is my first bad experience with online ordering, which I won't do again. Twice in the past two months, the computers I ordered from Dell Computers that were shipped via FedEx, have been stolen from the FedEx Distribution Center in Sacramento. These were two separate incidents, different packages shipped on different dates. Both packages were in FedEx’s custody when they were stolen. Apparently, theft at the Sacramento Hub is a common occurrence, and so is FedEx’s lack of follow through.
In both instances, I requested that my packages be held for pick-up. When I arrived at the FedEx Distribution Center, an apologetic FedEx manager informed me that my package did arrive at their location, but that it had been stolen from the FedEx warehouse. The FedEx manager assured me that the matter was under investigation. I have not heard from FedEx since. The computers were for my consulting business. As a result of FedEx's theft, I suffered deliverable delays and penalties to my client at a rate of $80/hr.

I and others have called and complained for years, yet the drivers continue to "drop off" our packages at the office.
It's not only an inconvenience for me, but causes me additional pain. I'm disabled due to a back injury. Walking with crutches and carrying packages is difficult. That's why I pay for "Home" delivery. I do my best not to order from companies using FedEx because I know I won't get my packages delivered to my door. The customer service representative assured me that she noted the account and will put in a request to have my package held.
On June 24th, another delivery attempt was made, so I called the customer service again and was told that it shows in the computer that my package is supposed to be held per my request and she doesn't understand why the package was placed on a truck for delivery, so the customer representative assured me again not to worry and just come and pick up the package on Friday. On June 25th, another delivery attempt was made, so the driver decided to leave it with a neighbor residing at **. I went to the address and found that the address did not exist. The only addresses on 107 Ave are: 13 - 19. I spoke to several neighbors at each of these addresses and they swear that FedEx did not deliver a package to their address and there is no such address and no such person by the name of K. **!
I called customer service 3 times to request that the package be held, I was totally ignored. Instead, their driver delivered it to an address that he wrote on the door tag receipt that did not exist. The content of the package was a graduation present that I needed for Friday, June 26, 2009. I paid $82.36 for the surround sound speakers in the package. I requested a reimbursement for the contents in the package and I was told to call the company that I ordered it from. At 6:45, I reviewed the web information to find that Mike ** had logged that the customer was not available for delivery as of 5:05PM. He did this without making any effort to deliver my package. I was actually outside talking with my neighbors between 4:30 and 6:00PM. He apparently decided he did not want to bother with my delivery and assumed I was not monitoring its tracking. Anyway, as already stated, I was home. He didn't bother to attempt delivery. I was told he would be the one to redeliver it tomorrow (6/25) apparently if he felt like it and my day once again would be structured around having to be home for that delivery. Refusing to do this, I made arrangements to pick up the package in the morning. A driver should not do his job when he feels like it and then lie about doing it. FedEx should be more responsive to customer relations.

The contents were fully inspected by a FedEx employee before it was accepted for shipping. There was a shipping label affixed to the large FedEx International Priority Mail delivery. On June 22, 2009, when the FedEx delivery made the delivery, I noticed there was a label affixed to the envelope over the original shipping label with the following words, "Opened for Inspection."
Then there was another FedEx shipping label affixed over label stating that the envelope was opened for inspection. The second FedEx label had the following words, "Cleared US Cutsoms. If Customs should declare a value, you will be billed later." Next there was a final shipping label affixed over the FedEx label with the note. The air way bill clearly described the contents as documents. A FedEx representative also inspected the documents before accepting the shipment. FedEx website stated the item would be delivered on Saturday, May 15, 2009, so I had my wife wait for the package. Well, I continued to watch the website and saw the "delivery" was at 10:30 PM at night and "left on doorstep". Well the wife never got the package and the video camera on the front door never recorded anyone coming to the house on Saturday.
Sunday morning, I reviewed the video and then contacted the Fremont Police to "report the theft" because FedEx swears the item was "scanned as delivered". Fast forward to numerous calls to customer service, nothing happens until I tell them I have video of the house and no one delivered a package.
Fast forward to Tuesday night, while I am at work, my wife calls and states a FedEx driver just dropped off my package. The only problem is the item delivered is not the one I wanted. I had 72 hours to return the item, but the shipper reviewed the "delivery status" which states the item was delivered Saturday and the "72 hours" is now over and I am stuck with the wrong item that can’t be returned. No one at FedEx will even say "I'm sorry, our driver messed up."
Now, FedEx is closing the claim and blames me for not demanding the shipper use delivery conformation. How did I know the shipper would not request a signature conformation? I am stuck with an item I did not want and due to FedEx driver stealing the package and delivering it late after getting caught in a lie; I cannot return the item because they refused to update the "true delivery date". FedEx is a sham and steals packages after they state they delivered the item on time.

The damage caused to my son’s walking stick was beyond devastating. The project began over 12 years ago (a little work done here and there over the years). I felt a sense of urgency to complete the project since my son, Casey, was heading back to Afghanistan. I spent many hours over the past several months putting the finishing touches on the walking stick. The stick is a piece of select diamond willow from the Yukon River Valley. Many hours were spent hand carving the diamonds and lettering. Eight coats of Sparathane (sanding between each coat) were applied to the stick. An inert .50 cal shell for the foot was supplied by a local coastguardsman who was more than thrilled when he heard about the project. A hand-carved aggressive grizzly bear was custom made especially for this project, and it was affixed to the top of the stick. 240 inches of Alaska moose hide leather (tanned by Alaska natives) was weaved (in paracord lanyard fashion) to provide a tasseled lanyard of over three feet. The walking stick was carefully packed in an undamaged heavy-duty cylindrical shipping tube. FedEx provided the damage and the devastation.
The tube was crushed and so were the contents. The walking stick is irreplaceable. The item’s value was priceless, but if a price had to be put on it, I would estimate around $5,000. I just received a check from FedEx for $100. They seem to think that their liability is not beyond the $100 since the shipment had no declared value. I would really like to get Mr. Fred Smith's mailing address so that I could send him the short description of the item and attach pictures of before and after FedEx handling. I'd also like to send him back his insulting check.

I have a senior citizen at home who is able to receive packages when they are delivered. UPS and DHL, no problem. But FedEx can't seem to get it right. A few months ago, I had a delivery. The first attempt failed. The senior citizen said that she never heard the doorbell. I signed for them to leave the package, but got more failed attempts and had to take off work to pick up my package. Today was incredibly frustrating. Yesterday, FedEx posted a note for delivery failure. But the senior at home heard the driver! She hustled down the stairs and by the time she got to the door, the truck was gone! Now I say senior, but this woman walks 5 miles a day, so it's not terribly difficult to get to the door.
Today, I stayed home. I went into the garage; door open to hear the bell or a knock. 8 minutes later, I came back (and I mean 8 minutes) and there's another sticker - no delivery. No, I don't want them to leave an expensive item at the doorstep. I called the 800 GoFedEx and they are useless. I say, "Hey, the sticker is from 6 minutes ago. If you contact the driver, he can redeliver today." They can't contact drivers. How insane is that? There's no way to contact an employee? Well I did a little research and found that these drivers are independent contractors. They work like dogs and FedEx gets richer.
I have no idea if I'll get my package because I can't seem to get to the door in the 2.7 seconds the driver waits to see if we're home. I now have a standard note to contact any business online that I want to order from and ask if they use FedEx ground. If they can't switch to a different delivery firm for my package, then I'll have to do business elsewhere.

I had been waiting for a whole morning and left the door of my room open in order to hear the doorbell. Around 2 pm, I checked the website, found out the delivery today is marked as unsuccessful attempt. I called the FedEx 800 number immediately and the representative contacted the driver. The driver said that he indeed saw cars on driveway. He knocked on the door (why didn't he use the doorbell?), nobody answered, so he assumed nobody was at home and left. I asked why he didn't use the doorbell. It is a house and nobody is able to hear his knock. The representative told me that the driver would try to deliver the package from 4pm to 8pm in the evening. Of course, it never happened.
I called the 800 number again in the evening and this time, a supervisor answered my call. He talked like a machine gun in a very fast speed, doesn't give you time or opportunity to talk. I had to ask him to stop talking several times so I can explain my case. He told me that I have to wait at home on next Tuesday for the package, the time for delivery. He doesn't know. Do I have a full time job as he does? Or leave a note to ask the driver to left the package there. I told him it is a $1,000 computer. The first incident was when my husband was deployed. I am a military wife (fyi). I had just delivered my son; he was three days old. I got home just in time for a glider that I bought to be delivered by FedEx. The day it was supposed to come, they never delivered it. I called and they said they had the wrong address and couldn't change it. I would have to call who I bought it from to change the address. I called the company I bought the glider from and they said they gave FedEx the right address to begin with and gave FedEx a call anyway, who claimed to have now fixed the situation. Needless to say, within the next few days, there was still no glider. I had to go down to the FedEx store with my newborn, still recovering from childbirth, to pick up the gilder by myself and bring it home!
The second incident: I live in a duplex that was remodeled into a one-family home so one side of our house has a gate that leads to the back yard and basement. The other side is our garage. There is no front door to the house at all. On the side with our 12-foot Iron gate there are numerous signs saying "Do Not Deliver anything to this side of the house; instead, please go to the garage because we do not use this side of the house." We have our mailbox, and a doorbell next to the garage as well as a little place to put deliveries.
Today I got a delivery from FedEx on the garage side with no problem. Later this evening, we had strong winds and my husband went to check something on the basement side of the house. There was a box that was sun-washed that had been thrown over the 12-foot gate. He brought it into the house and when we opened it, it was the Gourmet cheese I had ordered! Needless to say, the cheese is bad now. I called FedEx and complained, only to learn it had been delivered 4 days before. I use the term delivered lightly, I should say thrown over our 12-foot wall/cast iron gate! The cheese came in glass jars with oil in it. None of the glass had broken, thank goodness, but why would a FedEx person throw something over a 12-foot cast iron gate with a sign in front of him saying to deliver to another side of the house?

I sent a package on Tuesday and it was supposed to be delivered by noon Wednesday. FedEx attempted delivery on Wednesday and Thursday, and then finally my recipient picked up the package in person on Friday. At the location, they found out that the driver had been going to the wrong building. The cost was $55. Since I have an account with FedEx, I get the option of disputing online. I did and they rejected it saying it was a weather related problem on Friday. Unfortunately, there is a 20-character limit to explain your reasons for requesting a refund, so I couldn't explain what happened.
Next, I submitted another written request on their Contact Us page. Five days later, I got a response and again they denied it citing weather-related problems. It seemed like they didn't even read my message thoroughly. Finally, I called the number they provided in their reply. When I explained my case, the representative I talked to told me that she couldn't provide a refund, because I had already been denied twice. She said the only thing she could do is write the charge down to a lower cost category. I told her that it was their mistake and I want a full refund. She said she couldn't do it, so I requested to speak with her supervisor.
The supervisor, Johnny **, was even less helpful. He first said it was a weather problem and that's why it was delayed. I pointed out that it wasn't just delayed; it was never delivered. I explained to him that the driver had gone to the wrong building. He insisted that the driver had gone to the correct building, but that the recipient was not there. So it just came down to my word against his and he flat out denied my request for a refund. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he said the only thing I could do is write to 3965 Airways Blvd., Module G, Memphis, TN 38116.
These are some things I have issues with. First, it's not clearly stated on their dispute page that if the request is denied twice, then they can't do anything about it. Second, I provided a contact phone number in case there were problems with the delivery. How come this number wasn't used? Third, sometimes they blame the weather; sometimes they say the recipient wasn't there. These are just excuses to me. Finally, the fact that it has now come down to their words against mine. Why would I send something overnight to the wrong address? Why would my recipient lie about what happened? They are the ones who needed the package in the first place. I am so frustrated with FedEx. I won't be using them ever again. I'll try DHL or UPS from now on.

The boxes looked worn out. I believe it was tossed on trucks. This was a ground shipment which cost about $116.06 that included boxes, plastic bubbles and peanuts.

I shipped a package with a $5,000 ring to Paris, France. After I shipped it, I got an email from eBay saying that the buyer of the item used the account without permission and the ring had been relisted. When I told them that it was already shipped, they said to contact shipper right away and have the delivery stopped. So I called FedEx and was told that the package was still there and was not due to be delivered till Monday because it was a weekend. I was told that it would be returned to me. And then I was put through to International Fraud Division and gave them my story, who also assured me that the package was intercepted and was being returned to me. I was so relieved.
The next afternoon, I got a call from FedEx saying that they were sorry, but the package was delivered. I said, "What? Yesterday you told me that it was on the way back to me." She kept saying how sorry she was and I should have told them that it was a fraud. I said, "I did" and was even connected to that department. So, she put me on hold, said that the item was in the truck and was trying to reach the local office and the person on the other end hung up with her three times, because she did not understand English and the FedEx representative did speak French. I said, "Do you mean to tell me that the international branch of FedEx cannot speak the language of the people they have to deal with?"
So I am out of a $9,000 Diamond ring. She said, "I am sorry and someone from our fraud division will be in touch." That was two weeks ago and not a word. And of course the escrow company turned out to be a scam also. And eBay was no help either. Someone please help. What are my options? I cannot afford this loss in this day and age.

Every single time I get packages delivered using FedEx, they come days late and every day I check the tracking status and it says "attempted delivery." I do not work outside of the home and I'm here every weekday and have a security system that shows every single person or vehicle that enters our property. On this delivery, yesterday and today, it says they attempted delivery. That is such a lie and I had 4 people working outside all day today. This never ever happens with UPS. It has happened every single delivery for FedEx. FedEx has to be the worst company in this country and it's full of dishonest drivers.

My package wasn't delivered on April 2, 2009. I checked online to track my package, and it stated that it was delivered at my door. Wrong, I was home during that time of said delivery and there was no knocking or package left. I checked my leasing office to make sure it wasn't there, and they said, "There was no FedEx delivery in yesterday." When I called FedEx Customer Relations for the second time on the morning of April 3, 2009, they said they spoke to the call center and the driver said that he remembered delivering the package at my door(?). I told them I am hundred percent sure if someone was knocking or putting a package at my door. I would have known about it since I was at home. FedEx needs to take responsibility and not take the word of the driver's stupidity over the consumer. Instead of having FedEx investigate at the center, I have to call the seller for them to do their claim and investigate with FedEx which would take five more working days.

It has been 6 weeks since I initially inquired about a $200.00 wedding gift that was delivered to the wrong address. The employee and the Kinkos/FedEx store put the wrong label on the package so it went to the wrong address. Then it took them almost 2 weeks after I brought it to their attention to return to the address to try and retrieve the package. I was told over 3 weeks ago that they would review my claim because they weren't even sure if FedEx did anything wrong at all. I've spoken to many employees, managers included and they all give ME attitude - I can't quite fathom this. What happened to customer service? I have left multiple messages and have still not heard the outcome of my case review. I've tried to speak to managers higher up and I've been told I can't. This must be their tactic in preventing lawsuits because people get so tired and frustrated with the lies and runaround. What am I supposed to do???

Last Wednesday, February 11, 2009, I was concerned that a FedEx pickup for the painting would cause the painting to be left outside in the extremely cold temperatures, since I was working all week away from home. Sending it with FedEx on Saturday would have been perfect, since my husband was at home all day. Friday night, I made a bar code GND slip with FedEx. I set up an account on the internet, typed in a visa number paying for the pickup on the internet. FedEx doesn't pick up from my area on Saturdays! Monday was a holiday. So, all day Tuesday, the painting went in and out of my house, hot, cold, hot, cold. Finally, I called and a FedEx rep 'Angela' who said my account had a hold on it.
Nobody knows why there was a 'hold' on my account. FedEx doesn't pickup parcels if there is a 'hold' on the account. Angela assured me that she would arrange for a pickup right away, the next day Wednesday, between 2 pm and 4 pm. She insisted that I use the original bar code weigh slip GND for the Express pick up. I gave her my visa number over the phone. So I managed to go home briefly on Wednesday at 3 pm to find a FedEx note stuck to my door, beside the parcel. The FedEx express pickup does not accept GND items! I phoned Andrea at FedEx and explained the frustration. She assured me that if I took the box to my dental office where I work, FedEx would come to pick it up between 4 pm and 6 pm. Andrea told me twice to give the driver my visa number.
The FedEx driver arrived at 6 pm. He had a note from FedEx which said only cash could be accepted for the pickup. I actually had $40 cash but the driver could not give me the $10 change. So the parcel will now be picked up today, by a different courier company, Thursday February 19, 2009. It should arrive tomorrow. I have sent a complaint to FedEx. I would have been a new customer, but if these shenanigans take place just to have a parcel pickup, do they maybe play hockey with the parcels for the encore? Sorry for the extended delay.

We ordered a gift that was to be delivered Thursday, Feb. 5. On that day, we received a phone call from someone at the Bakersfield office saying the package missed the truck and could we drive to Bakersfield (1 hour and 30 minutes) to get it. After informing the person we could not, they said it would be delivered the next day, Friday. We stayed home all day waiting, no delivery. Left for dinner after 5pm, came home and saw tracks at the gate - no note, no package, no phone call. We call first thing Saturday morning to inquire and the package is lost at this point. I get 4 people, all with different excuses.
Finally, the secretary says the driver has the package on his truck and would be delivering it. I ask for an approx. delivery time. She said they don't give delivery times. So... we wait all day??? We are still waiting. We have things to do other than wait on a Saturday for an overdue package/gift, with no recourse. It will be UPS from this day forward. We have never had a problem with their company. If the package is not delivered today, I need a number to call instead of venting here on an internet site. I used FedEx through a local Kinko's to ship a package on 1/7/09. Apparently, the employee at the counter found the name of the person I was shipping to in his computer and printed the label for the package but never verified that the address in the system was the same as what I had filled out on the form. The package was then shipped to this incorrect address. I hadn't known the wrong address was used since the employee never read anything back to me so when the package hadn't been received by the party the following week on 1/14/09, I contacted FedEx by dialing 1800gofedex. They verified that the package was delivered to this incorrect address on the 10th. I told the person that that was not the address that I had sent the package to and the employee supposedly set something up for the driver to return to this incorrect address and get the package back.
On the 17th, I called again to follow up and was told nobody ever went to the address and they would put in an urgent request that the driver return on Monday, the 19th. They told me it could not be done on the weekend. They also told me I'd be contacted once they got the package back. Wednesday, the 21st, rolled around and I hadn't heard so I called AGAIN to follow up. Again, I was told nobody had been sent to retrieve the package. At this point, I asked to be transferred to a person higher up. I was now put in touch with Cindy ** of the Cincinnati CAT. I was told the driver could not go to the house that day but he would for certain tomorrow and she personally would be contacting me. This was done and she also was the one to inform the Kinko's in which the initial negligent error was made.
When the driver finally returned to the address on the 22nd, the residents claimed they never received a package. Cindy contacted me with this information and told me I should fill out a claim form and send that in with the receipt of the item that was shipped. This item was a custom made $200 wedding gift. The following day, a Bill ** called from Claims stating that they would only refund $100 and I was to send him the shipping receipt and that was that. When I began to state that I was not happy with this resolution, he became rude and basically said this was all they could do. I hung up and immediately called Cindy ** back, my only contact at this point.
I explained my conversation with Bill to her and explained that I was not happy with the resolution. She told me I could take it to a higher level if I wished and put me in contact with someone who could get me a manager (Thanks! apparently it was too much of a hassle for Bill to give me that information and he was most likely too lazy to want to deal with it so he wanted me to shut up and take what they offered). I was told then that in the request for the call from the manager, they would explain how I was not happy with the claim offer and explain my situation.
Now I was told it takes 24-48 hours to get a call back from a manager. Of course, by this time, it was Friday and so a manager would not call me until Tuesday or Wednesday. Great. On Tuesday, 1/27/09, I got a voice mail from a Marsha **, Claims manager. She apologized for the confusion of the package and said that she went ahead and authorized the claim and I'll be getting $100 back in the mail???? WHAT?? Clearly, it was NOT explained what my complaint was, as was the case every time I called. Every person I spoke with did not have the full story and when I told what really happened, the unanimous response was "Oh." Not surprisingly, Marsha did not leave a contact number.
I immediately picked up the phone and AGAIN I bothered Cindy ** and was put in touch with her co-worker because she was out. This person connected me to Marsha's voice mail where I left a message stating that I did NOT want the $100 and was NOT happy with that as a resolution and I expect to be called back so I could speak to someone in person about the situation. That was at around 2 pm Tuesday afternoon. Now, by 12:30 pm on Wednesday when I STILL had not heard from Marsha, I called 1800gofedex AGAIN where I had to be transferred AGAIN and was told Marsha was not available AGAIN but according to their record, the check was mailed and it was all set.
Now I explained that I had already left this woman a message; she should have called me back. I do not want this check and I want to talk to another manager immediately because my time is precious too and I can't wait around to take a phone call "whenever Marsha can get back to me". I was put in contact with a Hope ** who claimed to be Marsha's co-worker and she tried to tell me I would have to wait for Marsha to call me back. When I made it clear that this was not what I was willing to do seeing as I have only once out of 4 or 5 contacts been called back when they said they would, I was met with disdain and attitude. Hope then claimed that she was my only other option for a contact so I began to recap.
Trying to be patient and not start on a wrong foot, I said, "I realize this wasn't your fault but let me just tell you what has happened." To this, Hope answered in what I assume was her most professional manner, "Yeah, I know it's not MY fault." That's a great customer service response from a manager of a large global company. Hope and I went back and forth in a less than pleasant manner with her accusing me of not following through on what I was supposed to do and me getting further frustrated until we finally agreed that I would fax to her a copy of my shipping receipt and my item receipt. She said she would review it and call me on Thursday or Friday and said she couldn't tell me what to expect because she doesn't know that FedEx did anything wrong.
I stated clearly in a letter that I sent with the fax that I expect to be fully refunded for the cost of my item AND shipping due to the fact that this situation was a direct result of the company's blatant negligence from the start as well as their incompetent recovery and response to a situation. This was a completely avoidable and controllable situation if FedEx had done its part at every aspect to ensure accurate delivery of my package. I do not know what will come of this or if FedEx will give me back the money that I feel entitled to, but as of now my, interactions with multiple people on multiple levels of this company leave MUCH to be desired. Overall, my opinion is that they have been unprofessional and truly incompetent in handling problem situations. Never again will I be using FedEx especially after I've experienced firsthand how an error that THEY made is handled.

Since I know that we have what this client need, I commit myself to have a sample delivered to him in just a couple of days, which he agreed! On January 20, 2009, my representative in Belize delivered a package containing +2 lb of Habanero Pepper to the authorized agent in Belize. The next day (January 21, 2009), the package left Belize to Miami, FL USA. Today, it is the 26 of January 2009 and nobody in FedEx USA, Belize and Aruba can tell me exactly what is going on. The FedEx agent in Belize gave us a cellular phone number to call in Miami (!) which we did call and first, it was that 'paper is missing', then that it was the weekend, then other paper is missing, etc...
Today, I called the cellular number of FedEx (!) in Miami, and a lady, absolute not in a good humor, just limited herself by telling me that “It will go out today!!!” Now in the afternoon of January 26, 2009, I decided to call FedEx Aruba to know if the package arrived, and to my bitter surprise, they told me that nothing had arrived... maybe tomorrow! (ONE WHOLE WEEK AFTER THE DATE OF SHIPMENT, TALK ABOUT EXPRESS COURIER SERVICE.) Then the lady at the FedEx in Aruba decided to 'help' me with finding out what is going on. She used the computer to communicate and after trying so many times, she told me that the system is not allowing her to get into the Miami Office, and Miami Office is blocked and she is not receiving any response!! She promised me to go check what can be done... and right now, 'the day is gone' and tomorrow, it will be a week that I have sent some fresh samples to Aruba, from Belize to Aruba via Miami, and at this point, NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHERE THE PACKAGE IS AND WHEN I WILL RECEIVE IT.
The worst part of this is that those fresh samples by now are wasted and worthless to use as a 'marketing material' with my client, Kelant **. Minutes ago, I called the office of ** and they just limited to tell me that I am joker, that I have been promised for so many days that samples are coming, and that nobody will believe me that a package from Belize to Aruba, via Miami, with FedEx courier service will take a week to be delivered (like they said, not even if it was coming from China, it will not take that long). In order to finalize a passport application, I was required to send further documentation to the passport office in Seattle, WA. I was asked to forward the documents overnight with proof of delivery and signature in order to finish my application. Because this timing was critical, I used FedEx to ship the documents. I prepared and shipped the package on Friday, 1/9/2009, and paid for Priority Overnight shipping so that the package would be at the passport office on Monday morning, 1/12/2009.
The package arrived in Seattle on Saturday (the next day) scheduled for delivery to the office on Monday. I monitored the FedEx website from 8:00 am to noon on Monday to confirm that the package had been received but all it showed was that the package was on the FedEx vehicle for delivery. At noon, I finally called the 1-800 number to find out where my package was. After several minutes on hold, I was told that someone was trying to contact the driver. I called back an hour later; again I was told they were trying to contact the driver to find out the delivery status. Finally at 3:00 pm, I was told that they were pretty sure (?) the package had been delivered but that the driver had already left for the day and I would have to wait until Tuesday to confirm delivery.
My complaint at that point was that I needed proof of delivery that day, which is why I paid for Priority Overnight shipping and that the timing of this delivery was critical because I had to contact the main passport office in Washington, DC, which is 3 hours ahead of us, to prove I had sent the required papers. I was told that a customer service advocate would contact me. A little after 4:00 pm, I called back because no customer service advocate had ever called me. At that time, I was basically told, "Too bad, there's nothing we can do"?
On Tuesday morning (1/13/2009), I again monitored the internet for proof of delivery. I called FedEx at 11:00 am to find out the status of my package. They again told me they would try to contact the driver and find out where the package was. They understood why I would be upset and a supervisor by the name of Mr. ** would contact me because of the foul-up. NO ONE EVER CALLED - EVER. For 28 years, we have had packages delivered to our street address at which we receive no mail. Our mailing address is a PO Box in a different community. We anticipated the FedEx package would be delivered to our street address. FedEx has a service called Smart FedEx rates and picks up packages and takes them to the postal service. Our package took two weeks to wind up at a local post office, three zip codes away from our address. It was necessary for me to drive some miles to retrieve the package. The flaw in FedEx Smart Post is that a package can't enter the FedEx system without a street address. Yet Smart Post delivers only to postal addresses. The FedEx Smart Post system is carefully calculated to render any package sent to us to have a wrong address. I bought an electronic music instrument, Korg EMX-1, for $360 from somebody in Chicago. Seller shipped through FedEx. FedEx tracking said delivered at the time when I was home and saw/heard nothing. Called customer service numerous times. Talked to driver in charge of delivery and he told me himself that he never stopped by my house on the day that was tracked as delivered. After an investigation failure I had to file a claim. I have not heard from them since then. At this point I think it's very likely that I will never see my Korg EMX-1 OR my $360.
