If you can avoid them do it. The post office is much better, and cheaper. However, USPS doesn't accept items over a certain weight. I had to recently send an item back to a vendor only because it was delivered with stuff sticking out of the box. The box had been opened or became open, and the item was expensive.

I constantly tracking my package with FedEx because they always leaves the package at the porch while there's a lot of bad people out there who always want to steal your package. So while tracking my package all of a sudden I got a Delivery exception that says "Customer not Available or Business Closed" and a recommended actions that says "Recommended action:ell Door tag will provide the time and address of the FedEx location where you may pick up your shipment, and also indicate if another delivery attempt will be made." I was at home all the time waiting and not a single doorbell ring or knocking on my door. Well I guess FedEx needs to eliminate their lazy workers who makes their customers suffer.

So FedEx has a warranty on deliveries. I took the day off work because I had a scheduled delivery. I signed up for updates. I saw a FedEx delivery truck on my block at about 9 am. He drove past my residence and went down the block about 4 houses down. I figured he would go to my location next but just drove off. At 6:22 pm I get an update that they have the wrong address. I signed up for updates, it has the correct address. I called FedEx and the girl I talked to verified that FedEx does have the correct address and gave me a confirmation number and said she will contact the local FedEx. After some research I find out that this is their practice to getting around their delivery guarantee. Disgusting practice!!! Total liars. Now I don't know how I'm going to get my package because I have to work the rest of the week.

I don't know what's that mean in FedEx website to let customer manage the package how to instruct the package. It means nothing, I put a note where my package should be, but the delivery person didn't do as what I left a note for. I believed that delivery guy didn't even get out from his van or truck and just put on his screen, state the customer not available, but I was home waiting for my package. So dumb FedEx. Not to bother buy some things deliver with FedEx. Bye bye FedEx!

Worst Shipping service since Snail mail. FedEx has had my package for 15 days, then delivers the package to my post office which is the 16th day. Then the package is too large for the postal worker so the 17th day I have to drive 30 minutes to pick up package myself!! What's the purpose of paying to have shipped to my home. Worst service in the country.

Bad Treatment of Package and Awful Customer Service. I ordered my package over a month ago. When I contacted FedEx the first time it was to ask why my package hadn't arrived. I was rudely told that it was being shipped as a freight item (I wasn't aware that it was being shipped freight). Then when I asked why it couldn't just be dropped at my door in a box truck like my deliveries usually are, I was told in a very rude way that "That's not how freight works".
After finally scheduling an appointment, I had a friend go to pick my package up since I couldn't be there and I got a phone call from them telling me my item was shattered. I refused it and it was again shipped freight, even though I specifically asked for it to be shipped in a box truck. After weeks of waiting it was delivered to an address I did not authorize for the shipping address to be changed to. And it's broken again. I have never dealt with a more awful, rude, and obviously careless company. I will never use them again.

Have had ebay for 5 years now. I ship 10 packages a week. About 4 or 5 through FedEx. First time in 5 years I had to file a claim after thousands and thousands I pay to ship, pay for insurance etc. And I have been on the phone for 7 hours trying to get a claim filed for a $420 trying to get $225 back after 7 hours of figuring out nothing, all they can tell me is I have to wait until Monday morning. Are you ** kidding me. 5 years, 5 packages a week, 4 times a month times 12 months a year is 1200 package at roughly $25-$50 dollars. A package $36,000 dollars and I have to sit on the phone for 7 hours to try and refund someone's item that your company broke. Over 225 dollars out of the 36000 I have sent.
I promise you one thing I will never spend another dime with fedex neither will my family. After 5 years and that much money from 1 person. I wouldn't recommend this company to a dog. Then the 10th person I talk to states he don't care how long I sit on the phone he will keep refreshing the call every 15 mins because he would not send me to someone in charge. That's customer service for you.

FedEx left me a note on my door saying there is a package for me. So I called yesterday and I told him I was going to pick it up. When I called this morning they said it's on the truck. So here it is 2 o'clock I've waited all morning the package did come but this is not for me or my address. I called the lady. Her name and address and phone number are on the label. I told her I got her package. I wanted to take it to her but it's big maybe it's a mattress. For some reason FedEx decided to write my name in my address on the label. Alongside with the correct name and address and phone number for the delivery. This person lives 20 minutes from my house.

Tracking a shipment from/to the opposite coast is like watching paint dry - or at the very least, watching yourself drive your own package, mile after mile after mile... It didn't occur to me (nor was I ever told) that the new laptop I had just purchased (and really had a need for, and quickly) would take a full 10 days to receive, from the day I paid for it. Sellers should NOT use FedEx Ground for long distance shipments - especially for a $20 charge to the customer. 10 days is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age, when we are so accustomed to 1 and 2-day delivery from so many online retailers.

I have used FedEx for 20 years - exclusively! - as USPS and UPS are so hopeless in South Florida. I will NEVER USE FEDEX AGAIN! After much research and questioning, I was assured by FEDEX reps that the 3-Day Ground shipment (it was imperative that it arrive correctly for my business) would arrive by the end of the 3rd business day. Now I've found out that it will arrive fully one week after shipment! I took into account the 4th of July Holiday and was still ASSURED by the representatives at the North Miami Beach facility that all of Wed/Thurs/Fri would count as the 3 days as I'd dropped it off on the Monday evening. They recommended I wait until after 6 pm so that it would not sit in a truck in the heat over the holiday next day. They assured me it would go out Wednesday and be in NYC by 6 pm on Friday.
They lied - or else they didn't care enough to teach their employees to give a damn about the info they give clients. Apparently, all their info was untrue. I absolutely HAD to have it in NYC by 6 pm on Friday. They assured me it would. When I phoned up the 800 number to complain, they not only would not listen, they just kept repeating the same (now uselessly) corrected info with NO APOLOGY and NO ACCEPTANCE OF THEIR OWN MISTAKE nor CULPABILITY!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! And for that we spent $35!!! Would also not refund our money, of course!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I cannot even imagine how incapable their leadership is today to ** up FedEx this badly! YOU PEOPLE HAVE ABSOLUTELY RUINED THIS COMPANY!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!

FedEx has a policy where they can just leave an item on a doorstep when no one is present as long as there is no signature required. This is both a good and bad thing. I've experienced on more than one occasion (both with FedEx and UPS) where they have done this. The problem was that they weren't at the correct address as 99% of the time someone is at home and have had multiple times where tracking shows item as being delivered (left at door no signature required) and there was no package to be found. It’s one thing to deal with submitting a claim for an item that is received damaged or showing as not having been delivered but it is a strenuous task to try and submit a claim for an item that shows was delivered but was actually never delivered.

I would rate this company a zero. I shipped a package from New Castle DE on 4/29 of this year. Showed it was delivered on 5/04. All that was received was 2 pieces of plywood. For next two months tried to find my content of package to no avail. Tried every one up to the CEO no one calls back. I was finally told that the contents were lost and there was nothing I could do. Again I would rate FedEx a big zero!

Anytime I order anything online I pray that FedEx will NOT be delivering it! Every single time this company has to deliver anything to me they will put that it's delivered before it's delivered, will leave a tag on the door as if they attempted to deliver but you've been home all damn day and didn't get a knock on the door or a buzz!!! When you call customer service they don't seem to damn concerned! My daughter has very important medication she has to take and I have been sitting at home all day waiting only to call the company the meds come from to be told that a attempt was made. So I call fedex to let them know that delivery guy never knocked on my door, not hit the buzzer!!! This is pitiful!

A PACKAGE (critical medicine) was sent next day delivery from AHG for a 10:30 am delivery. The package needed my signature. At 10:15 am I received an email saying that FedEx attempted to deliver the package but they were unable to get a signature. I waited at home for the package & FedEx never attempted to make a delivery nor did they leave a delivery attempt notice on the door. I called FedEx and The call was routed to Mexico. I asked to speak to a supervisor in the United States & was assured that the would do so. I was transferred to an international supervisor in Mexico. I asked again to be transferred to a supervisor in the United States. The supervisor in Mexico argued with me but eventually transferred me.
The supervisor in the United States contacted dispatch here in Columbus and told me that they would call me within 1 1/2 hours. I told the supervisor that this was unacceptable and I wanted to be transferred to dispatch. I also requested to file a grievance with FedEx. The grievance number is **. After receiving a lot of resistance I was transferred to dispatch. I was told FedEx would contact the driver and contact me with an estimated delivery time. They also mentioned that the driver was a temporary driver. At 11:30 am the driver showed up with the package. I questioned him about the first attempt & he said he couldn't get into the secured building because he didn't have a fob. He said he had to go and get the fob from the regular driver who was apparently on vacation. He said that delivery was not guaranteed and it wasn't his problem he didn't have the fob.
FedEx & UPS enter the building daily. He also admitted to not making an attempt to call me either. NOTE: THE SAME THING HAPPENED LAST MONTH when I was waiting for my medicine. FedEx assured me it wouldn't happen again. I think FedEx is not able to make their delivery time and this is what they do to make it look like it was the customer's fault so they are not liable. I won't be using FedEx ever again.

I will never use FedEx again. I have called 4 times in the past 24 hours because I have been waiting on a package. I spoke with someone yesterday and asked if the package would need a signature because no one was going to be available to sign for it. The rep said no that there was no signature needed. I instructed that they leave it at the back door. She said that would not be a problem. She put all the notes in the system. Well today when the package was to be delivered it said it could not because no one was home. So I called 5 minutes after the driver attempted to leave the package. I spoke with customer service, and they called the base from where the package was coming from, and I was told the driver was still in the area, that he would return and leave the package at the back door. Well now it is 430 and just got home and my package was not there.
I called again, and this time was not the nicest. I spoke with a gentleman that was very rude and said that it was the drivers discretion to leave the package. I asked if he could transfer me over to the base where the package was coming from, and he said he will call first and make sure they want to speak with you. REALLY!!! The guy comes back on the phone and said that there is nothing they can do. That whoever spoke with me earlier, lied and said that they never told the driver to turn around. He said he saw on the notes for the driver to leave the package at the back door. Well, I then got sent to a supervisor that told me it's up to the driver to leave the package. If he doesn't want to leave it, he doesn't have to. I explained this is why I called yesterday to make sure this does not happen, and he said "oh well nothing else we can do."
That is poor customer care at its finest! I had everything arranged with notes in the system to leave the package, but because the guy did not want to unload 4 boxes he didn't drop them off. Said it would be the same thing tomorrow. That it would be up to the driver that was running the truck. So basically, they do not care at all, and that is why I WILL NEVER USE FEDEX AGAIN!

Instead they invent a bunch of "special reasons" that they can't deliver on time despite being less than 5 miles across town. FedEx is losing market share to Buster Brown and it is easy to see why. In order to not incur a lift gate fee, I had to drive 3 hours to the freight building to get it download it. As I was coordinating the pickup, after being told they close at 8 pm. I called the freight location and they told me their ONLY certified forklift operator got off at 6 pm, but close at 8 pm. If we were stay at home people we wouldn't have a problem but seeing that we have to work to be able to buy stuff it causes a huge problem. FedEx does not seem to care or have a system in place that keeps all employees accountable. Employee makes us drive an hour to pick up our package only to find out that the driver took it anyways. Employee tells us to come next day then says the next day we can't. Employee tells me to head home for 2 hours to receive package only to tell me the driver was never headed back to my home. I love Jesus, I am a good person, I've never yelled so loud in my life. Like there is no way a company can have so many employees who have no idea what's going on with the driver or package. Having my husband and I driving around town, missing hours of work, days of the run around to get a package.
It's just incredibly shocking how many employees gave us the wrong information and had no idea how to get us to the package until we completely lost our patience. I truly hope FedEx can get it together. It's shocking with the technology we have to be so clueless about helping your customers get their packages. No remorse on each mistake. Until at the end when we lost it and they were finally able to help us get to it. Just get better at helping working people please.

To make it short and sweet, I placed an order on the 25th of June and it was shipped out the same day. It was shipped with FedEx from LA, California to Midland, Texas. The parcel sat from the 29th of June till the 2nd of July in the FedEx hub in Dallas when it finally got moved on. Today we have the 4th of July (a Holiday) and it is still not here. That shows the dedication to the customer of FedEx because it takes them twelve or more days to deliver a continental shipment. I had prior bad experiences with lost shipments, late arrivals and boxes that were not opened by accident (:-/). I would not recommend this utter garbage company to anyone!!!

I've done business with FedEx for a couple years and I've NEVER had an issue sending a box, that I wrapped. However, today I walked into the FedEx office in Thousand Oaks, CA and was told by a young lady: "We can't send this package... unless we open it up, and box it ourselves!" I told her I had NEVER had to do this when I dropped off packages at the Canoga Park, CA FedEx office. She replied... "I can re-box your item and send it... but there will be an added charge for that." She then showed me photos of mangled boxes with rope, strings and paper hanging from them. I told her "I did't use any ropes or strings and the paper had been affixed to the box VERY firmly." She still said it would have to be re-boxed.
I didn't stay long enough to ask her the cost of re-boxing. I wrapped my box in a VERY professional manner, just as I had done with all the previous box I've sent through FedEx. Over 2 weeks ago I shipped some notarized time-sensitive closing documents for the sale of a home from London to the US using Priority Express International. The envelope arrived at the FedEx processing center in Memphis 2 days later and then poof - went off the radar! The online tracker started showing the arrival date as pending with a "No scheduled delivery date available at this time" message. After multiple calls to FedEx, being told the package is in customs and I need to wait, patiently waiting for over a week with no updates until they finally admitted there is a problem, having an investigator assigned to find it who didn't even follow-up properly, sending them copies of my documents on their request even though the documents should be in their envelope and I think it must break some privacy laws, and generally given the run-around, I was finally told they were indeed lost after over 2 weeks.
Final cost to me: $1,200 in shipping fees, document preparation (notarized and apostilled) and costs directly related to delaying the sale, not counting my time, stress and other indirect costs. The amount they agreed to refund me: $100 for the shipping costs and this I have to go claim from the little mom-and-pop stationary/FedEx shipping center I used in central London because the store apparently used their business account and FedEx can only refund them not me (I didn't even realize they did this). So now I have to go chase these guys down - talk about adding insult to injury.
I must clarify one thing. The reason they gave for not compensating me for damages is that I did not declare a value for the package which I didn't because they were documents and the staff person said it's not needed. That was my mistake. However, even if I had, FedEx said it would not refund any other losses caused by the delay as they are considered "consequential" and they don't cover these. I was lucky the extra costs were only about $600, they could've easily been thousands.
So the moral of the story is this: FedEx is not what they advertise in their pretty commercials - reliable, secure, professional - it's the very exact opposite. They are sloppy, negligent, unprofessional and unhelpful, their system is a mess. They remind me of that old DHL commercial of a shady courier driving a VW bug through some dusty town while packages are flying out the back door. Secondly, if you ship important time-sensitive documents that may cause you financial loss if lost or delayed, you might as well send them with a pigeon and hope for the best. Do not do it! FedEx will not cover any related losses, only the value of the contents of the package, if that. Perhaps they offer some extended insurance, but they certainly do not make it very clear, their documentation is horrible.
FedEx is guilty of false advertising and making it very difficult for consumers to understand exactly what they are getting. They advertise the priority service as fast, reliable, secure, etc, yet it's anything but. When you pay $100 to have a simple envelope shipped, you expect a high level of service and coverage which you do not get. While I understand the need for insurance, they should make it very clear what you are covered for and what you are not, and what your options are, and not bury this information in some insane legalese. Shame on you FedEx, horrible company, avoid at all costs!

I have been shipping my product for over 5 years. I have shipped nearly 10,000 packages. All of my packages are double boxed and reinforced with kraft tape. After a package spent an exceptionally long time in Lenexa, Kansas, I called FedEx to help track what was going on. I received a call from a manager in that department that claimed my box had been shredded by a belt and that it had been damaged. The package continued on its way to California nonetheless, where the destination facility decided to return the package to us. I called to complain saying, "It's already at the destination, just deliver it, don't return it to us all the way back in Chicago if it's damaged!" They claimed that "because the box was damaged, we cannot deliver it." So why didn't they return it to us when it was in Kansas?
We received a box back from FedEx that was smashed as well. We pulled out our product with none of the original shipping materials inside. The canvas bag that our product was in was even shredded. A FedEx employee even came out to tell us to file a claim and gave us a form. We filed that claim online in February. Didn't hear anything. I emailed in April asking the status of the claim. They said they're still working on it. I emailed again in June, and now they said they sent a letter out in April (which we never received) stating that our claim was denied due to "insufficient packaging."
I wrote a nasty letter to FedEx stating I had provided all the necessary documents including pictures, a video of us opening the package, all receipts, labels, etc.. They replied shortly with a letter saying they stand by the position of "insufficient packaging." So in my many years and thousands of packages, I've shipped out, not one has been damaged beyond a simple dent in the corner or side. Now this package, which was double boxed, was completely destroyed, so much so that they didn't even return our product in the original box. The canvas bag that we had our product in was shredded, and they are going to claim "insufficient packaging"? That is a cop out excuse and blanket statement for anything.
The truth is, FedEx does not want to pay our insurance claims, period. "Our truck ran over your package"? Insufficient packaging. "We dropped your package in a pond"? Insufficient packaging. "Your package was engulfed in flames and burnt to ashes after the semi crashed into a median"? Insufficient packaging. Never use FedEx! THEY ARE CONS!

I had breast cancer, surgery, and treatment in 2015. I went to a Dickinson, Texas facility for my mammograms. I have since moved closer to the Austin, Texas area. I had a mammogram at an Austin facility. The Austin facility found abnormalities and needed my prior pictures/Breast cancer files from 2015. The Austin facility contacted the Dickinson facility and asked for them to be sent overnight by FedEx. This was June 16... a Friday... they should have been in the Austin office the next Monday for the doctors to review for my diagnosis. I waited until that Wednesday and called and was told that they did not have my pictures for the doctors to analyze.
I called the Radiology facility since I had received no call about my results to see if further testing /treatment was necessary. The representative in Austin told me that my breast cancer pictures were in Memphis, Tennessee. I called again a few days later and asked for the tracking number. I called FedEx with the tracking number and they said the package is missing. The last trace of it is in Memphis. I left my phone number and asked that a FedEx manager return my call. I said that this was unacceptable. I have not received a call from FedEx. In the meantime I DROVE to Dickinson, Texas... a 3 hr drive one way to pick up my files/films/pictures. I also contacted the Austin, TX mammogram facility again and they said that they had not received them and more were requested.
I am furious!!! I possibly have postponed breast cancer surgery/treatment 2 weeks due to FedEx losing my files (they are still lost). Someone possibly has access to my breast files/films /pictures. Someone possibly has access to my personal information... address, phone, email, health insurance and other VERY PRIVATE information and photos. The extreme stress these past additional TWO WEEKS of not knowing the results of possibly another breast cancer diagnosis is unbearable! This is due to FedEx losing this overnight package. The embarrassment of these files getting into the wrong hands is emotionally draining!
Additionally, the fear of my personal information being stolen is very upsetting! I want to know what a FedEx is going to do about this... it is unacceptable on MANY levels! Again, I have not been contacted by a Fedex representative as I requested when this important medical information was lost. A FedEx CEO needs to contact me immediately!
After writing this I searched my FedEx tracking AGAIN tonight and my URGENT OVERNIGHT BREAST cancer films which were sent FedEx Overnight on June 16 arrived at the Austin, Texas destination on June 26, 10 DAYS LATE! I feel like I need to contact an attorney about this FedEx experience. I called FedEx and said that this was unacceptable and to have a manager return my call. No call.

We ship packages using Postal Service, UPS or FedEx. The worst shipper is FedEx in Customer Service, handling of packages and answering questions. We ship about 25 to 30 packages in a month with FedEx and about 10% of the packages get damaged. The claim process is also very complicated, we feel like not to even file claim, sometime it is not worth of our time. Most of the time we ship through Postal Service and we are very happy. We will not recommend FEDEX to anyone as a preferred shipper.

Did not receive it on Thursday June 22 but tracking said it would be delayed till the next day. On Friday June 23 I still did not receive my item. Once again tracking said it would be delayed till the next business day. Sometimes they deliver on Saturday June 24 so I waited to see if it would come. It didn't so I called customer service. I was told they had had mechanical problems.
So on Monday June 26 it didn't come. I called the company I had ordered from for help. They contacted FedEx and were told it was lost in the warehouse. That night the tracking once again said will deliver next day on Tuesday June 27. Well at about 2:00pm today Tuesday June 27 I got a phone call from FedEx. They said, “We will not deliver today. We are SHORT ON DRIVERS.” So at this point the company I ordered from said they would refund my shipping if I refuse the Item if I ever get it. I will be out an additional $100 or so because of the liars at FedEx. In addition I have a second package that was received at FedEx hub, same hub, on Saturday June 24 did not receive it on Monday June 26 as tracking stated, and have not received it today Tuesday June 27 as tracking stated. Does no good to call FedEx. Waste of time. Out $100, one customer and never will I use FedEx again.

Everytime I go to their website on an alert it automatically goes to Spanish. When I try and select English it starts cycling like a broken link. I then asked for them to allow me to pick it up at a location to prevent further delays in the shipping process. I called them on the phone and they said that it would be shipped directly to a local FedEx site. I then found out that the packages were actually being sent to another location and then a third location before coming to my site. This shipping issue has cost me thousands in lost time. UPS and USPS have always been very reliable. FedEx has lost its ability to be a leader in the shipping industry.

I've never been this frustrated with a delivery company!! Purchased 3 items from a major warehouse chain. 1st 2 orders came within 24 hours of purchase. Email from FedEx said my last order will be delivered end of day as the first 2. Never came. Then received another email staying delivery unknown! That status stayed for 2 days. Now I received yet another email stating there's an "exception" on my Delivery! When I scrolled down to see what that meant what it said was my package is undeliverable because no one was home when they tried to deliver!! That's a bold faced lie. I'm home recovering from major surgery, so yes, someone was home!! It appears some driver didn't want to deliver so wrote in that no one was home, which by the way, is a package that could have been dropped off!!! Calling complaint department ASAP! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Stick with UPS!!!

A small package of blade bearings was shipped via the most expensive and fastest freight available on FedEx, from the ** plant in Torrence, California to the ** shop in Campbell River. The small package was picked up Tuesday AM at the California plant, and never arrived until Friday afternoon at the Campbell River hangar. Those bearings were supposed to arrive Wednesday, or Thursday at the very latest. Now that the package is hopelessly late the blade assembly could not be completed, and we are stuck in Campbell River over the weekend until Monday. What a waste of money paying for fast priority air freight!
I could have drove down to California and brought the bearings to Campbell River myself, if only FedEx would have told us their actual delivery time frame was not as advertised. What a bunch of liars at FedEx! And does FedEx care? Not at all. Not even a thanks for the money we wasted at FedEx, or a recalculation of the freight rate to a turtle speed delivery rate.

DO NOT USE fedex "2-day" shipping! They're super unprofessional--from the drivers to customer service. Fedex claimed to have dropped a package off for me on a Friday yet every time I called they expressed REPEATEDLY that my package wasn't even in the system. Finally they find my package and they made note of the fact that when they recreated my label they omitted the apartment number. So, my package had no apartment number on it, hence the driver didn't know where he was taking the package. The driver swore he dropped it off but like I said there was no apt number on the package so there was no way he dropped it off.
I filed a claim and it was denied bc I neglected to put the declared value on the package so they couldn't give me the amount I asked for. Essentially they were excusing their negligence from NOT inputting my apt number on my shipment down to the driver getting off the hook for just leaving the package anywhere--as opposed to leaving it at the leasing office which I'm sure was standard protocol. Moral of the story - DO NOT trust FedEx!

It probably saves them about a minute since my entrance is bit more convenient to leave packages. This is what you get when you have mafia controlling a business without any meaning competition. My son ordered a package from Amazon for arrival 5/3/2017. The order was for a roof rack for his truck, and for some reason the package was shipped to the card billing address (family home) versus his physical address (military) in a different state. Two packages were received at my home, and I used FedEx to ship the packages to the base where my son is stationed. I shipped the packages on 5/16/17 for expected delivery on May 22nd. The smaller of the two packages was received (adapters for the roof rack), the larger package (roof rack, crossbars, connectors, hardware and instructions) was not received. Upon reviewing the tracking report it appeared the package was hung up at the Tennessee FedEx facility. I contacted FedEx and was happy with the service I received in attempt to locate the package.
After several days and conversations with FedEx the package was located and I was advised the shipping label was separated from the box. I was asked to describe the contents of the package and I advised the box clearly identified its contents as a Surco Safari Roof Rack, and this is when things became dysfunctional. I was then assigned a case number and several contacts later, one ground tracing rep advised the package was lost, next day found, another rep advised the package was relabeled and sent on for delivery. Waiting a few days and yet no delivery, I contacted FedEx again and another rep again wanted a description of the contents, and I advised I was previously told the package was found and, as I stated in an earlier conversation, the box clearly identified it's contents. I was then advised when a package is received with out a shipping label, it would be opened to verify it's contents.
I again questioned this policy and given a "it's policy" answer. I was then advised the shipment was a "repackage" and currently located at a FedEx station in North Carolina. My son received the package on May 30th with missing parts. The missing were the instructions, crossbars, connectors and hardware. Another contact to FedEx, the rep provided me via email, a claim report to complete. I compiled a letter with details of my experience, the claim form, and sent pictures that I received from my son to provide a description of how the roof rack was received. One pic was of the packages how I received them, another of the the FedEx "repackaged" box, which was smaller than the box I originally received and shipped to my son.
It appeared to be a box that I would hardly consider sturdy, and it consisted of two smaller boxes slid one into the other, then taped together in the middle, and the last picture to show what he received which were only the four pieces of the surround that hold the contents within the roof rack. I waited the 10 days to allow my case to be reviewed and then contacted FedEx, asked for a representative upfront, was connected with a rep and gave them my case number. I was then sent to the ground tracing department who told me "the package was delivered"! Yes, it was delivered and was missing parts.
FYI, in an prior contact with FedEx, the same thing happened, and from my own experience handling customer disputes for a major credit card company, I asked the rep in that prior contact, if because my claim is no longer lost package claim and now a missing parts claim would a different case number be assigned, of course I was told "No your case number remains the same". With each new call to FedEx, having to re-explain my claim was infuriating! During THIS contact I was disconnected once, I called back only to be directed to ground tracing again to be told the package was delivered! My last ounce of human dignity remained and I (gritting my teeth) asked for a supervisor. A very kind supervisor listened to my frustration, advised me I was indeed assigned a new case number so in the future I would not need to speak with ground tracing.
I was then connected with a rep (who had the tone of "I've had a long day, don't mess with me") and after a long delay, advised my claim was denied. I asked why, and was told in so many words that had to be repeated, that my dispute is with the shipper... Really? Clearly previous conversations had not been documented, and reviewed completely. With every ounce of self respect I responded "I AM the shipper! I shipped this package to my son because I received it in error. I frustratingly reiterated my claim. She then (begrudgingly) stated she had set up a 'pick up' of the package, she provided me with a time frame, and a tracking number, to provide to my son. I was not able to advise where my son could safely leave the package for pickup as he works unusual midday hours. I asked if I could call her back after I verified with my son a pick up location.
She (the customer service rep that she is, "I go home in a few minutes"). was not one to go the extra mile. I texted my son, with the details, and waiting for his response. Promptly at 2 AM my time, he responded that he had thrown out the box he received the parts in. I thought maybe he could go to a FedEx location near him to get another box then schedule a pick up. He did and FedEx did not have a box the size he needed. Flabbergasted! FedEx - you ship packages worldwide?!? I left work early today so I could follow up with my case rep before she had to go home. I called the toll free number, provided my case number and Yippee was immediately connected to her extension... only to be disconnected. I called back, and another rep answered to advise my case rep was not available - no surprises there!. I presumed (silly me) that my new details could be added to my detailed (?) case notes.
This other case rep (in a tone of voice that I knew was one of sheer joy) advised me that because my son threw away the box he received, the claim would be denied. I asked for a supervisor, was told then was none available (of course), she took my number and advised I would receive a call back within 24 hours. My phone will be attached to my body like it was waiting for my son to call while in basic. This is the first time I have directly shipped with FedEx and it will be my last. I expressed that in my letter to them in the details of my claim. I even opened an account for future shipments as my son will deploy in the near future and I truly thought their reputation was superior. I have learned otherwise. I will continue this claim until FedEx can document to me a valid reason why they will not provide compensation for some of this loss.

My teenage granddaughter picked out some clothes and boots she wanted for Christmas from Forever 21 and I ordered them (her gifts) and paid online, to be delivered 11/28/2016 by FedEx. Knowing I would be on vacation that day, I requested the package be delivered to my office. Our local news station was advising viewers to have their packages delivered to their jobs because of so many thefts of deliveries from front doorways. I alerted everyone at work, as I had several deliveries coming (UPS and USPS). As the packages were delivered, they were immediately locked in my office. When I returned from vacation, I checked the packages. All were there, locked in my office, with the exception of the 15# box that was to be delivered by FedEx. I checked with all the employees and no one received a 15# package from FedEx.
I called FedEx and was told the store, Forever 21, would have to file a claim. FedEx told me the package had been delivered and that I signed for it. I told them I was on vacation that day and could not have signed. I asked for a copy of the signature and was told I would have to get it from Forever 21. Forever 21 told me they would file a claim and I would receive a refund on 12/16/2016, they said FedEx gave me wrong information as they did not have copies of signatures. I didn't hear anything on 12/16/2016, nor did I receive the refund I was told I would get. I called Forever 21 and was told to call FedEx.
FedEx said they denied the claim. I asked why, and was told, "Because you signed for it. You received your package". I repeated everything again and said I didn't think they should deny the claim without doing an investigation (they didn't send the driver to talk to me, didn't send me a copy of my signature they insisted they had - I even offered to send them my signature so they could compare). Bottom line, absolutely no investigation, just a denial. But, to make me feel better they told me to call Forever 21 and have them file another claim. So... started this whole ordeal all over again. After a few days, I called about the claim and was told it was denied. I made many calls to both FedEx and Forever 21 and was told by Forever 21 I would need to talk to FedEx, who told me they couldn't help me because Forever 21 is their customer, not me.
Forever 21 said they believed that I did not get my delivery. I asked them to refund my money (nearly $300) so that I could provide my granddaughter with Christmas gifts. They refused. They also refused to file another FedEx claim, saying 2 claims is their limit. When I said, "You have my money, and I didn't get my purchase - are you going to keep my money"? I was told, "Yes". I no longer shop at Forever 21, nor do I use FedEx any longer. I do however, make sure my friends, family, and co-workers know how my granddaughter's 2016 Christmas was ruined by these companies (I guess they needed my money, more than this little girl needed her gifts). Really rotten companies to do business with. We work too hard for our money to waste time with these thieves. Please beware.

They took it to the first house they came to and got someone unrelated and didn't know me to sign for my package which was electronic equipment. When I called the third time they gave me the address where it was delivered and told me I could go find it. When a package requires a signature they can give your package to anyone anywhere who is willing to sign for it. 7 days later I still do not have the package and no call backs for the third time. You have no recourse and no means to address this to any management. Calls are forwarded to a " customer advocate". FedEx is not customer oriented and doesn't care about service after they throw your package over the wall.

I needed the items in that package much sooner, so I called the seller and they were gracious enough to send out another package (mind you the item in the package cost me around $300).
I got a new tracking number and was told it would arrive two days ago. When I logged on to see why my package never arrived, I saw that the delivery day was once again substituted to say 'pending' again (which I now know is FedEx term for 'lost your package AGAIN!'). I called and guess what?! They lost my second package!!! It has been almost a month and I need the contents of that package immediately. I had to call the seller, which is super awesome and I would love to give them business, to tell them that I wanted a refund. I was told by customer service that they don't know where my package is until it is scanned at a location. These shipping companies need more accountability with their delivery drivers because for another package I was set to receive at my apartment, as I was tracking my package from inside my package an alert popped up that there was an attempt and a door tag left. Yesterday, 6-8-17, my child and I were at Boise's FedEx on (271 on Milwaukee.) I am a business owner and I come here often. This was the worst experience ever. This complaint is about employee **. Yesterday was the third time employee ** harassed my child. Let me tell you about yesterday, first. Yesterday, 6-8-17, I was working on the computer while my child was being a normal child, looking around, searching for greeting cards and discovering. What I witnessed, three minutes after I placed my behind on the computer chair, was unbelievable.
As soon as my child 'dared' to touch an object that was available for him to freely purchase at any time he desired, employee ** rushed to my child, violently pulled an object from his little hands without my permission and, again without my permission, yelled at my child, "Don't steal this!!!" My child ran to me crying. He was terrorized by this woman for the third time. He cried for a long time after that.
First of all, he is a child. Nobody should talk in an accusatory manner to an innocent child. You have a problem with my child, you come to me. I am the parent, you don't traumatize my child, I don't allow you to. Second, **'s job is to 'serve' customers, including children. Children are human beings, they are equal to adults, they have human rights. One should not demean a child like that! What ** did yesterday was unacceptable: she harassed an innocent child, and that happened to be my child.
I (try my best to understand that) some people dislike kids; fine; however, when kids-haters are at the job place, they have a professional responsibility to keep that disgraceful child-hate of theirs in check at all time or else there can be disastrous professional consequences for them. ** traumatized my child yesterday. She demeaned my child. Shame on you, FedEx Boise, Idaho on Milwaukee, for allowing such creatures to run the show. I don't care if ** is "nice" to others; that is irrelevant. She was vicious to my child, and she was vicious for no reason. Unacceptable! Why do my child and I have to suffer? Why do you see us as less human beings than the rest???
There were two other occasions in which the same female employee ** terrorized my child, of which I will only mention one here. I purchased, on another occasion a couple of months ago, a thumb drive from ** and my child wished to hold the thumb drive that I purchased in his hands. Totally acceptable. I purchased something, I decide to give it to my child or not, he is my child, under my supervision, not **'s animal or slave. What ** did was she violently grabbed the thumb drive from my child's innocent little hands, raising her voice at him and showing anger towards him. My child was terrorized. He cried the whole afternoon. Unacceptable treatment of a human being.
How can you, FedEx-district-manager-over-Utah-and-Idaho, still keep such disgraceful creatures employed with the company you represent? Is it because you may have the same discriminatory values as **? Is it because you are corrupted? Is it because you're afraid to be and act like a manager with values? Do you, like your subaltern **, believe that discrimination, selective torture of children, emotional trauma of certain children, and putting 'selected' children down is something of great value, something that should be rewarded at the workforce?
I was in management for the last 5 years working for the federal government. I know about customer service, and I know that there are certain situations that call for brave action. In other words, there are situations in which, regardless of the person's reputation, that person has to be disciplined one way or another. Sometimes there are customer complaints of impressive magnitude, complaints involving civil rights and human rights and doctor's proofs of traumatic experiences - in these cases, something needs to be done, action needs to be taken. My case is one of these. Situations like this one need to be corrected by taking appropriate action. Managers should have the capability and strength to do that.
Why does ** from Boise's FedEx on Milwaukee, treat others with dignity and respect while treating my child and me with hate, discourteous attitude, anger and resentment? She treated my kid worse than a criminal is treated in prison. Why did she put my child down? Why my child? Why not other children of other parents? Why did she choose to traumatize my beautiful, intelligent and active child? This woman has real anger issues. ** needs to go. She needs to be fired.
My child and I should not feel less of human beings because ** hates us. My child and I should not be afraid to enter that FedEx place because an employee hates me or/and my child. That is unheard of in this day and age. We do not support slavery anymore, people. Wake up! Employee ** has discriminated against my child and, as a result, against my person on three occasions. My question to the Consumer Affairs and FedEx is this: Is discrimination supported by FedEx? Is discrimination supported by Consumer Affairs? I thought we live in the 21st century. Am I mistaken? Should FedEx not fire **? I'll ensure FedEx will hear from my attorneys.

She then scheduled it, and it was picked up, for delivery the next day. When I tracked it, I found "No delivery date scheduled." Apparently the shipping label fell off, and no one could locate the box, even though I described it.
As I contemplated what to do, the package mysteriously showed up AT MY DOOR. Thank goodness, the package had a label from a prior shipment. No one, of course, had told the distribution center lady that was working with me. Every single FedEx employee, except the one kindly woman at the local distribution center, was surly, unhelpful, and obviously felt put out by my calls. And all I wanted was a simple shipment. Next day, I took the package to USPS, and it was mailed and delivered without incident. I would not use FedEx to send a roll of toilet paper across the street. No point writing to FedEx management. They do not give a damn about small business. While FedEx was once a great alternative to USPS, it is now the other way around. FedEx is a disgrace and a tragedy to American business. FedEx is the World's Worst.

I was supposed to receive my package on June 6th 2017. When I tracked the package, it showed "Refused by Recipient" and is being shipped back to the shipper. I called up FedEx customer support and asked them about the status. They claimed that it might be a mistake and promised that they'll make another delivery attempt. On June 7th 2017, when I tracked the package again, it still showed me the same status. So I called them again and got the same promise again. When I mentioned that I can go and pick it up, they said that the package is already out for delivery. I also asked them to leave the package at my door if no one answers and gave them my phone number to reach out in case of any issues.
On June 7th 2017 evening, when I reached home after work, I still haven't received my package. I called them once again and I was told that the package is on its way to the shipper and I will have to resolve this with the shipper. Upon repeating all the promises that they made, all I heard was a bunch of `sorry`. The package contained a gift I ordered for a friend and all I could do now is to feel helpless and disappointment on trusting the FedEx.

On May 23rd, a package from Walgreens was due to be delivered in the early evening. It rained all day and into the evening. The tracking post indicated a 6:11 pm delivery to my door, but there was no package. I called to have the package located. I did not hear back but later a neighbor notice a box by the street, unprotected. The neighbor brought the package to my door. Coincidentally, I noticed that UPS had delivered a package to my neighbor's door and placed the package in a plastic bag. I placed another call to FedEx and asked to speak to a manager. My basic question is: What is FedEx's policy regarding rainy days? Two weeks have passed; no call from management. Here's my brief conclusion: UPS cares enough to get the package to the consumer and out of harm's way, FedEx does not.

When I called FedEx about what happened they told me that they would make sure that I would get my package before the end of the night so I waited and nothing came. And the worst part is I paid for overnight shipping. FedEx is the worst.

I am from Sydney, Australia. I stopped using FedEx a long time ago, they are really crap in Australia. I got far better service with UPS here. However I purchased a watch as a gift from the USA, I checked the shipping time before that. As I am leaving home to Melbourne the delivery time was so important for me. Unfortunately, the seller used FedEx to send the watch.
However, FedEx surprised me and the item was in local facility on time. I got a nice message about the shipping time. I was expecting 6 package altogether that day, all signature required. So, I was at home all the time, actually we were 3 people at home. I saw the driver on the way in FedEx tracking. But, I was surprised again when at 11:50 pm the tracking showed me that, "I am not at home" and they attempted a delivery.
My home is in the inner city, on a quiet neighbourhood. This is a small wooden house next to wide road. Moreover, I signed another package at just 11:30 from Toll shipping service. We never left the house for a single second. But the Fedex driver claimed that he came and nobody was at home. But I guess he forgot to leave the shipping note as there was none.
I called Fedex and explain everything, the person from the service took nearly 30 minutes and came up a solution that the driver is coming back to my house by 40-45 minutes. So, I wait wait wait. But that never happened. It was Friday, so now they are telling me that they cannot do anything about this. The FedEx customer service even refused to give me any kind of explanation. They gave me a option to pick that up from the depot. Or they can try to ship Next business day (Monday), when I will be on road to Melbourne. But I am looking for an explanation. Really disappointed by the lying. It's a shame for such a big company or the biggest liar.

On May 12th, I went to FedEx to send a package from Miami to Chile, and one of its contents was a makeup foundation. So I asked the man who attended me if there was any restriction on sending cosmetic products to Chile, to which he answered me that there wasn't any problem at all, and that the package should be arriving to its destination on Monday the 15th at 6 pm. But so big was my surprise when I hear that instead of delivering the package, Fedex left a note saying that they regret to inform that the package was being held because (cosmetics) needs a special permits (authorization) from the Chilean Ministry of Health to get into the country (because it is a restricted product) additionally to have to pay multas.
After that I contacted an Aduana agent who informed me that Fedex knows the aduana's rules of entry and that they know what kind of products can entry and which have problems of retention. Afterwards, I sent emails to Customer Services Support complaining about the situation and demanding them to recover the package and delivered to me without extra cost due to the mistake was from their side. For that they took more than a week to answer me that they were not responsible for the retention and that the only solution was to pay them again a re-delivery for the package (Chile to Miami) for that I refused, but it was in vain because I didn't get any good answer from them... It is pay or lose my package. All and all, the only thing I can say after this sour experience is that Fedex is an unreliable company, expensive and horrible customer support.

One more terrible review for Fedex. I was home all day, hovering by the door, but still they claim no one was home so they couldn't deliver the package. Customer service was useless. Apparently no one works at the distribution center where my package was shipped from, so they couldn't get in touch with ANYONE who would know about my parcel's status. Still, they tell me that my package will most assuredly be delivered before 2 PM the next day. 3 PM rolls around, package is "on FedEx vehicle for delivery". I then began receiving notifications that my package was in route and on schedule and to be sure to that someone was going to be there to sign. On the day it was due to be delivered I received the same confirmation that morning, however the second notification was to notify me that my package was not able to be delivered because the business was closed and a tag was left on the door. I was mortified! My office was clearly not closed and FedEx never made any attempt to deliver there.
When calling FedEx customer service I was advised that they attempted to deliver at my original address and that it takes 24 to 48 hours for the system to re-direct a address change. I requested the address change 30 something hours prior but asked, "why did I receive at least 10 notifications that my package was on its way to the address I had requested." The FedEx representative advised me that "had I read the manual I would have understood their terms". I couldn't believe what I was hearing! If you are getting discounted products from the website, while paying the customs in your country they will use the full value and calculate the customs on that. FedEx representative will not contest with Customs person on your behalf and you will end up paying more. There are a lot of additional handling charges by FedEx which will be required to pay along with Customs charges. If you are living in a non-metro city, FedEx might come back and ask you to send few additional documents to deliver the product in your state and believe me that is a lot of work. As you know how Sarkari things work. The final option will be for you to go to FedEx main warehouse and pick it up yourself. I have this month alone bought from two things from one online store. And one thing from another... first of all they always say in their report they did not need my signature so they set it by the front door. No I have a long huge deck porch and they set it way out on the porch and do not knock or make a sound even though it was pouring rain. By the time I see the box it is mushy and I have to go out in the rain with a dry box and carrying like a set of dishes in a few at a time... even the inside boxes were mushy that time. Whereas near the door it would not have gotten that much rain. Or knock on the side of the house and leave so I know it's there.
Now there were broken dishes in the box. The company had packed it well and it was padded but things were broken and the people I ordered from replace the broken parts... just trouble, time and annoyance. Second order... well it was a set of glasses, box was perfect and everything well packed. But there were some shattered. Back to the phone to get replacements and wait. Today I saw the driver set my mixing bowl order in the rain and walk off. Now a noise one... I ran and got it... another store this time... it was so well-packed but it had been slammed down so hard somewhere the bottom two bowls on the set had the bottoms cracked out of them.
So basically they dump their deliveries in the rain, do not knock or anything knowing it is pouring rain... plus three orders delivered by them this month all well-packed had broken things in them. Yes I get it replaced. I sit on the phone a long time waiting my turn to talk to a company rep to do so... then I wait for the delivery to make my order whole again. It is taking time and is annoying. Frankly I get orders delivered by other carriers and I have never had anything broke until this month when FedEx is the shipping agent.
They are rough handling their packages and this last one showed it. The box was almost broken open and it had reinforced shipping tape on it. And the driver could care less what condition the goods are in. They toss it in the rain silently and go on. It's delivered and no longer their problem... but it is not good business and it is wasting time of the person receiving. Annoying to say the least and time consuming. It's just bad business and I remember a day not that long ago that FedEx was an excellent service. It's a shame to see what it is reduced to. I know things get damaged from time to time but three in a month is bad. So Fed Ex in my area is high to use and has become a careless carefree bunch of people. I cannot show you photos of the broken things. I threw them away so I would not be cut. And even the companies I bought from only one ask for a photo. I deleted the photos after my things were replaced.

These pros can't do anything right. When getting my phone back from being repaired. They added one digit to my address. Well FedEx did not even try to deliver it. (I know cause that day no FedEx trucks came to my street.) Just put on the tracking that it was not deliverable. Same day I called FedEx and the mobile phone company. The mobile company even called FedEx to change the address. So knowing that the address was wrong and told that by the shipper on Tuesday.
They did not even scan the item when it returned on the truck to their center till the next day at till 8:27 am and the correct address was put on the shipment, but guess what time the truck leave the center? They leave for the deliveries just before 8 am. So not only did my package sit in the truck all night. They had plenty of time to take it off in the morning. Have it sit around while they load up the truck. Have it leave. Have a smoke break. Before scanning it. Now all the customer service people will say is that it is set to be delivered now on Thursday. Personally I would not be surprised if it is not in tiny pieces.

This is not the first time I have had a problem. I just never wrote a review about the other times. They emailed me and told me that my package would be here yesterday. I made plans. Then when I call them back they said that they would put a time frame of about 12 o'clock noon the following day. Then they called me and told me around 1:30. Never received it until about 3:15. They should not be sending them emails out if they can't meet the deadline. I'm not upset at the drivers because they're just doing their job. I'm just saying "Do not send those emails." So that's why I put the heading of management.

I often have deliveries coming through UPS and FedEx. When UPS gives me a delivery that has to be signed for they never fail to show up as they say. I have had notices from FedEx of the day that a shipment would arrive, reminding me that someone must sign, and then the package will be delayed up to THREE DAYS from the original date. I ask vendors to not ship to me FedEx, but FedEx manages a small percent of savings by having contractors manage deliveries rather than UPS. I'd rather pay more for reliable service. Planning my day based on having to sign for something is a bit of a waste of time. Planning that day just to have FedEx waste it and having to wait another day or three is more than annoying. I may have to stop buying from vendors who use FedEx. Terrible service. Today's complaint is based on the third shipment in one week where this has happened. Frustration does not begin to describe.

I have dealt with FedEx pickups twice now and both times it was a nightmare. I tried to schedule it online but their website is a never ending maze requiring you to enter no end of information to create an account just to get a one-time pickup. When they asked for credit card information for a prepaid label I had had enough and decided to call customer service instead. When I finally got ahold of someone I could understand about three words. I asked her to repeat as I could not understand her and she hung up on me. I had a similar experience around Christmas with a pickup. The first one scheduled never came and the second scheduled came on a different day than I was told. Ridiculous. What a ** show.

From this day forward I will not order anything through any company that uses FedEx. If they don't offer an alternative shipping company, I will find an alternative company from which to purchase. First, my computer ordered through Microsoft came through damaged. The box was a disaster and the delivery person still left it on our porch in that condition. I returned it the next day and a week later Microsoft claims they're not getting a response from FedEx. My money is tied up and I don't have a computer.
They won't send a new computer until FedEx acknowledges the damage. (Shame on you Microsoft - You sully your good name by using an inferior company to save a few dollars. In the process you create nightmares for you customers.) Second, last night I opened the front door to find two packages from Bed Bath & Beyond and one was open and busted up. Thank heaven the contents were not. Things that would be easily damaged or I'd be going through FedEx Hell twice. Beware any companies that use FedEx. I'd rather pay a few more dollars and get what I'm paying for.

"Oh we can't call the driver. They don't have phones." What a joke really. They treat their customers like they don't count. Supposedly they shipped thousands of packages everyday. What they don't tell you is if they lose one they make it very difficult for you to find it or get it back. Their customer service representatives are smart aleck. They can't and won't help you. If you ask for a supervisor you will be told at 2 o'clock in the afternoon they have all gone home for the day. If you write to their customer service at their corporate office. You will get a general response saying "we will get back to you in 24 hours". This is by far the worst customer service system that I have ever worked with.
Do not ship FedEx. Ship any other way but don't use FedEx. That is if you want your package delivered to the right destination. You want to make sure that your customer is satisfied. Or at least if they make a mistake or willing to fix it. Instead they make the customer feel like they're causing trouble or putting them out by asking them to find the package that they lost. They can't make a simple phone call to a driver. It is ridiculous system. The people that work there are not helpful at all. I would not recommend shipping with them ever.

It seems like Companies are much more concerned with saving money than getting items to their customers quicker as many of them claim. FedEx Smartpost must offer companies the cheapest way to ship because they are by far the SLOWEST! What I don't understand is, the company sends your package to FedEx and then FedEx Smartpost gives your package to your local post office. If the post office is going to deliver it any way, why not skip the middle man and send it straight through USPS??? If your package is sent through FedEx Smartpost, it can literally sit for several days (even though it's right down the street from your house!) before they give it to the post office. Then depending on when it arrives at the post office, determines when it will finally be delivered. FedEx Smartpost is a total joke!

I had a friend pay $95 to FedEx in AL to send a package overnight from there to MN by 1:30 pm the next day (5/5--5/6). I sat close to the door of the motel room I was in with the tv turned down so I would be sure to hear the anticipated knock on the door. The package didn't come, so I tracked it, and the page said "Delivery Exception... Customer not available or Business Closed." The motel hasn't closed, and I was available. THEY RESCHEDULED THE DELIVERY FOR MONDAY. Almost ruined my day.
I will give them credit for this (reason for 2nd star): I called CS at the FedEx.com website and they connected me to the nearest FedEx location 60 miles away. I talked with a courier and he delivered the package in about an hour and 15 minutes. He said the previous courier misread the address--he tried to deliver to an "S" (south) address when it was clearly marked a NE address.
In December 2012, FedEx didn't pick up an important package from one of their drop boxes, even though a pickup was scheduled. The local FedEx office told me that there was NO DROP BOX THERE at that location, EVEN THOUGH I HAD PUT A PACKAGE IN IT. I had to make repeated calls to customer service. Each time they were very pleasant and went out of their way to help. But NOTHING that they said they would do was ever done. NOTHING. I eventually had to sue them in small claims court to get reimbursed. They knew they were wrong and didn't even contest my claim. UNRELIABLE.

This is because I would be at work and packages have been stolen when left at the door. However, it appears they never attempted the delivery because there was no door tag left, which I was informed by customer service is required for every attempted delivery.
That night I again left delivery instructions on the fedex online delivery tool, informing them to leave my package with the front office, I then had an online chat with customer service to confirm it would be left with the front office. FedEx did not live up to its obligation to me when I sent my irreplaceable, signed antique cello bow to a buyer. I paid for overnight service (at great cost) so it would sustain the least handling but it took two days for the cello bow to get there. Even worse, the bow arrived broken. I had wrapped the bow with sufficient bubble wrapping and had placed it in an indestructible plumbers tubing. FedEx said it would not pay the $1,000 I had insured it for since the package wasn't damaged! The reason the package wasn't damaged is because of the indestructible tubing!
I can't even imagine how badly the package was shaken to have broken the cello bow despite how well it was wrapped and encased. After filling out all of the paperwork, sending the required pictures of the damage and wrapping, and having an inspector come to the buyer's home, FedEx paid only $500 out of the $1,000 insurance I had taken out on the item. We not only lost the functioning of an irreplaceable cello bow but also did not get the full amount of the insurance we had paid for. The 2 day shipping of course costing a great deal more. All of these packages were shipped the same day the order was placed and estimated delivery for them was the following Friday and Saturday. For whatever reason ALL of these packages said they required a signature to receive the packages. The first and (ONLY) attempt they made to deliver was at 1030 am on a Friday. Any normal person who works a 9-5 is never going to be home during these hours. So they try again the next day on Saturday at 940, again not home. I am at work.
Now here is the part that really pissed me off. They left half of the packages there on Saturday, so the FedEx delivery person left half of the packages with no signatures even though they required it, and then TOOK the other packages that ALSO needed signatures. The confirmation emails said EVERY package needed a signature. So now I am left with half of my order, and apparent FedEx doesn't even consider Monday a "business day" so I have to wait until next Tuesday. An entire week later for 2 day shipping.
I called the number FedEx provides to see if I could schedule a delivery time, not possible. So I tried to have them leave it at a FedEx facility so I could pick it up, also not possible. I received pretty much ZERO help from the broken English phone support other than to have them tell me there was nothing they could do, and rush me off the phone. So there is (literally) no possible way for me to get my packages other than to HOPE that when they attempt the last delivery that I happen to be home. Although after reading other reviews I completely expect them to try the SINGLE redeliver between 9-1030 am on resulting in me having to either track the package to wherever the truck ends up based on what the sad customer support told me. On all the packages we had date certain delivery on 8th of that month and assuming FedEx would be the best choice for the movement, it was our least of worries. But to our surprise, from God knows where, they made 1 of the packs delivered on 3rd of that month, at our leasing office as we hadn't moved there by then. 2 of the packs, they attempted for deliveries the same day and left notes saying 'delivery failed'. 3 of the packs they marked as 'to be picked up by the customer'! Rest were luckily showing the delivery date as 8th. Despite all our talks with the customer care (as they were least willing to be helpful) everything went in vain. A simple thing was made way too complicated by them!
So somehow on 8th they delivered 5 packs after a lot of follow ups. 2 of the packs we picked up from the store. 1 of the bags we collected from the leasing office. And 1 more bag, they have lost it!!! On the top of that, they sent us only the Label it had on it, pasting on a postcard like package and marked it as delivered! We had a lot of damn expensive clothes and God knows what else in there. They weren't even interested in finding it and kept saying will refund when you submit the proofs of things you had in it. He never contacted FedEx to request a package to be mailed back to him that he paid to send.
I contacted FedEx back again and was told that they contacted the shipper and were told not to mail it back to destroy the package. I was told the package is already destroyed. I spoke to a supervisor by the name of one who told me that it had not been destroyed but the note show but someone had contacted them and told them they didn't want the package back.
I was told at race is being put on the package yesterday. I didn't quired about the scans that I was told the package had arrived in Dubai 3 days ago and in the US yesterday. I was told by another FedEx representative that maybe it was never really scanned but they were just showing that it should have been on that shipment.
Next I was told maybe it's in the origin country still and they were going to contact that facility. That was more than 24 hours ago. I've not heard any answers between the seller and my discussions. This looks very fishy. It looks like there is some true dishonesty going on with this FedEx system. I can't seem to get any answers. I'm just waiting to find out what FedEx comes up with. At this point it looks to be lost. I'm told that the waybill number could have changed. It could be under another FedEx number and I still could get my package today. This is far too much confusion for a carrier to not be able to be specific as to why a package would be shown undeliverable. Something is very wrong here.
Updated on 04/19/2017: As a follow-up to my last review on the undeliverable package. FedEx apparently is investigating theft from the international side. I have no new information other than the package was undeliverable and no reason why. It is been the absolute worst experience to work with an international company that does not follow through on knowing where their package actually is. I was told it reach the United States last week now I'm being told it never left the origin. At this point everyone that was supposed to return my call at FedEx never did all week until the first time this morning after my numerous calls. I will not be dealing with FedEx anymore. They advise the shipper to request a refund. FedEx suspicions theft on their side. I don't know what they're going to do about it but I have no resolution other than the headaches I've had trying to track this package. DHL is far superior, be advised.

I ordered a package from Walmart with two day shipping. Was to be delivered on April 12th 2017. Got a text message from FedEx at 9 a.m. that the package will be delivered between 10:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Waited until 4:30. When package didn't arrive called FedEx and was told it will be delivered today. Give it an hour. I waited an hour, call back, got the same story. They have until 7 p.m. to deliver it. I spoke to two supervisors. One called the facility in Philadelphia and was told at 6:30 that the driver is done for the day and it will be delivered tomorrow.
This company sucks. I paid for 2 day shipping and have to be inconvenienced after rearranging my schedule to receive it on the day that it was to be delivered and not get it and was told they don't have the manpower to deliver this package that the driver ran out of time. So my package was riding around in their truck all day. This is not the first time that FedEx has done this. They leave notes on the door stating undeliverable when I was there to receive the package. The service is horrible. They take your money and don't deliver on their services then give you some cock-and-bull story about why it wasn't deliver it when it was supposed to be.
I hate this company. If all possible I would never use them for shipping. I never have this issue with UPS. I called Walmart and inform them of the situation and suggested to them not to use FedEx as their shipping method because they don't deliver when they are supposed to. They are lazy and unprofessional and offer you know kind of resolution to the problem. They should not be in business as a shipping company if you can't deliver. The only thing they can tell you is, "Oh you can pick it up." Why in the hell would I pay for shipping to have to go pick something up from their facility? Just do your damn job and stop ripping people off. If I could give them a minus 10 Stars I would. I shouldn't have to make 6 phone calls to FedEx about my package.

I was emailed a tracking number for a package I ordered. When I first checked the tracking, I read that the package was scheduled for delivery the following day (Friday). As the package was heavy and I needed it under cover, I posted a sign on my door asking FedEx to ring the bell so I could open the garage for them. I then stayed home, awaiting delivery. I checked the tracking throughout the day, always confirming delivery scheduled for Friday. It didn't happen. At 5:45 pm the tracking was updated to say delivery was scheduled for Saturday. I stayed home, again. Continually checked online tracking, at 6pm still said being that day. No packaged delivered. I knew it wouldn't come on Sunday.
So Monday... checked tracking, it was schedule for delivery Monday...no package. I called FedEx on Monday night, was given a case number, told that the package was within 15 miles of me, had been scanned at 7:17am Monday morning. I was assured that would be delivered on Tuesday. No package. Wednesday, no package. Called FedEx again and told package had been rescanned Tuesday morning at 4:51am and that they didn't have any additional information. Basically, no additional information from what the online site kept saying/updating. Still no package and FedEx not helping at all. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT USING FEDEX until their tracking is 1) timely 2) accurate 3) reliable.

I took the day off work to accept a signature only delivery. I tracked the package online and it stated the delivery was on schedule. I called FedEX at 2:30 to check the status and was told I'd get a call back. I never did. It's followed by a series of lies on their part. I was told the package was late because of an address change. I called the shipper and there was no such change involving a UNIT A. The physical address was still the same. Even with the Unit A it would have arrived at my location... I think the bottom line is we have all become too complicit in the game of lies. While on the phone with these so-called customer advocates I found them saying whatever to get me off the phone. I will never use FedEX in the future. If a company is going to ship FedEX I WILL REFUSE. I will exercise my right as a human being to just say NO.

My husband and I so sad and indignant at the unbelievably disgusting delivery service provides by FedEx. We ordered our delivery 2.5 weeks ago. We haven’t received it yet since that time. First time FedEx came when nobody was at home. So my husband called them and asked to cooperate shipping time because we could not be at home all day along. However FedEx doesn’t take into account our own time, they even don’t know approximate time for their shipping. Therefore they didn’t guarantee time and brought our package again when nobody was at home. Next scheduled shipping I took a day off and was waiting for it all day from morning to evening, but they didn’t come at all. We together wasted one more day sitting at home, but they didn’t come again...
One day when my husband called the customer service he had to wait on the phone line for 40 minutes. In spite of this there wasn’t real help. Lately he has called to FedEx and was told that they have already come 5 times so far. They are even impudent enough to say lie - it is an outrageous lie! I don’t understand why instead of doing a simple, normal delivery this company is doing this inconvenient over a long period of time service and lies their customers?! It seems like they don’t know how to do their job!!! Today we arranged our new shipping date again, so I have to take a day off again! And wait again! I hope so much to receive our package. I will see soon, but I know for sure I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

They keep apologizing but can give me no information other than I can expect a call within two hours. Delivery was supposed to be before 10:30 am, stayed home from work to receive package. It is not 11:41 and I get the same story that the driver is in my area. Big lie, same as I got an hour ago. I will never use FedEx again. My issue with FedEx began when I waited for a pick up on 4/5/17 between the hours of 8 AM - 8 PM. I called the company around 8:30 PM expressing my concern that my package had not been picked up. However, the representative stated that the driver indicated that the package had been picked up (which it had not because the box was still in my home). Once again, I scheduled a pick up for the next day, and my home surveillance camera recorded the driver picking up the package at 1:49 PM on Thursday. I had a pre-printed label from Apple, with overnight priority delivery. On Monday, according to FedEx's tracking website, my packages' label had been printed. This doesn't make sense, because my package should have been delivered on Friday to its destinations. I proceeded to contact Apple, and guess what, they have not received the package.
I contacted FedEx, and they started a tracking claim on the package. I was told that a someone would contact me that afternoon as soon as the manager spoke with the driver to see what happened to the package. I did not receive a call on Monday afternoon, so I called FedEx on Tuesday morning to follow up. The representative stated that there were not any additional notes in the system, and that someone would contact me and I didn't have to contact FedEx regarding this matter. Excuse me?? But my $300 package is missing, and yes I WILL continue to contact FedEx, and whomever else I need to contact until my package is located. She continued to try and express her concern, but continued to tell me that I did not have to call. I was told that once an answer has been determined, the tracer team would contact me. I asked how long does this process usually take, and of course she did not have a response.
As I stated to the useless rep, had I received a courtesy call from a manager (or anyone) informing me on Monday that they were still working on my case, that would have pacified me enough to continue waiting, and I would not have had to call them. I was then told, "no they will not call you to update you." What??? What professional company/organization does that? Most companies want their customers to be satisfied, so that they are not writing complaint letters such as this one.

The male representative politely informed her that their system automatically charge my card once I inserted it. I ignored her comment and continued doing my work, while she continued to accuse me of not wanting to pay.
After, I finished my work I walked over to the male representative to ensure my card was charged. He confirmed that my card was already charged. I said thank you. As I walked away the woman again told the representative that I thought I was going to get away without paying. Though the male representative was very polite and helpful, I was extremely angry with how the woman representative addressed me and accused me of something I did not do. She accused me of not paying while I was still using the internet. I did not even attempt to get up out my chair or walk out of the store. There was no reason for her to make that type of accusation. There were a few factors that contributed to this bad experience. But to start, the delivery was wine and therefore required an adult signature. They tried to deliver on Saturday afternoon, and the delivery slip did not indicate which day they would try to deliver again. On Monday, my roommate (who actually placed this order) tried to schedule a delivery at a certain time because we realized that FedEx does not consider Monday a business day (really??). The result was she was locked out of her FedEx account and the representative on the phone said she could not accept payment over the phone - scheduling your delivery window will cost you $5-$10.
When I tried to schedule the delivery the whole process went through, until I tried to pay and it just said error. There was no way to tell why it didn't work. FedEx attempted to deliver twice before finally catching me home sick. All three delivery attempts were in the afternoon. When the package finally arrived, the delivery agent refused to bring it to the door. He did not check my ID. As he is leaving, he makes a comment about how many times he tried to deliver. This was entirely unnecessary. Why do companies not attempt different delivery times if the person is clearly not home at the same time each day?

On Tuesday May 21, 2017 I was expecting FedEx to pick up a less than 5-pound package of vitamins to be returned to the vitamin company. The FedEx driver had the shipping label. I had a funeral to attend so I left the package on the doorstep with a note "FEDEX PICK-UP". At 10 am UPS delivered 6 tires (worth $600) for my husband and left them in front of my car in the yard (which was directly in front of the door & FedEx package). We get home, my husband checks the tracking on the tires and it says they were delivered. We searched everywhere, no tires.
He called UPS and filed a claim. I checked the FedEx tracking all day, called several times, just to make sure they hadn't picked up the tires. Every time I called, I was told the package hadn't been picked up yet but would be by 8 pm. There was no tracking info online either. So at 8 pm I checked again and it said the package was picked up at 11:30 am and the weight was 50+ pounds. Instead of doing his job and coming to the door, the driver picked up the first thing he found in the yard, which didn't even have my name on it, the tires were shipped via UPS in my husband's name! In my book, that is theft. We were on the phone with FedEx until midnight, trying to get the tires stopped from leaving the local distribution center. Got absolutely no help and kept being transferred to people that could not speak English.
The next morning (Wednesday) the distribution center manager called my husband and said that 4 of the tires were still there because they didn't have a shipping label but 2 of the tires were shipped because the driver put the shipping label (which was supposed to be for a less than 5 pound box of vitamins) on the 2 tires. The 4 tires were delivered Wednesday morning. The manager said he would have to intercept the truck and have the 2 tires expressed back to me. This is now day 3 and I still have not received the 2 tires yet. I don't know if they're on the way to the vitamin company in Nevada, I don't know anything. I've tried several times to call the FedEx corporate office to file a complaint, with no luck. I have had many problems with FedEx but this by far is the worst.

I have ordered a package recently, it cost me $450. It was shipped with FedEx. It was delivered and signed for (by someone I don't know). As you may have guessed, I never received it. Originally the package was mailed to a post office location for General Delivery. It turned out that USPS provided me with the wrong delivery address. The package was delivered to the location where they didn't accept General Delivery. Nevertheless, one of the employees at that station received and signed my package. USPS later admitted the mistake but did nothing to rectify.
Since that particular USPS location didn't accept General Delivery packages, they said they sent it back to the original sender (after signing for it, so FedEx has it as signed for in their system). They didn't call FedEx though to return the package. They sent it via their own service, without tracking information. Whether this is what happened. I will never find out. The package hasn't been received by the sender. When I contacted the seller to inform about the situation, I was accused of being a scammer. They said the package was signed for, hence, for them, it was in my possession. Every question about whether, at least, the shipment was insured, were met with silence. I may come to understand the sender's suspicions, but I can't understand accusations without basis.
Finally, I tried to contact FedEx customer service. I wanted to see what options I had. Five days of trying to get someone's attention on Twitter and Facebook. Finally, someone asked what seemed to be the issue. I explained the situation and asked what my options were. I felt like my questions have disappeared into the abyss. No response ever followed. I then filled out a form on FedEx. Two days later I received a response. Here's the copy-paste version of the response:
"Dear Ms. **: We received your email. Thank you for contacting FedEx. We regret address your concerns via this avenue as you may still have to contact your sender that we are unable to for more information about your package or further arrangement. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for shipping with FedEx. Eduardo ** FedEx Customer Service."
Is this a response you'd expect to receive from a professional company? I have serious doubts the person who replied had even read my message. And then the text of the response itself?? I don't even know what to make of it. I used FedEx in the past quite frequently, and luckily, has never run into any issues. As much as I don't like it, I understand and accept that mistakes happen. What I value is how the issue is being tackled. I appreciate it when a company treats me with respect even if/when the situation can't be resolved in my favor. FedEx has demonstrated a complete lack of respect for their customers, zero desire to help, and total absence of professionalism.

Accordingly I went to Kolkata travelling 1500km by air to get my thing on 17th March 2017. Then FedEx gave me a delivery order addressed to the Commissioner, Air Cargo Complex, Kolkata on 17th March 2017. As the customs in India has very peculiar rules the item could not be taken as such and people at customs advised me to take the help of the a clearing agent. The matter was informed to FedEx who unfortunately gave the item as 'delivered' on 17th itself. In fact, the item is still lying with the customs Kolkata. I am not used to import rules and FedEx also knows the loop holes. They deliberately put me in such a position that I can neither take the item nor recover my money.

FedEx is the worst shipping company I ever known, I have never had the opportunity to get a package from them until last week. I ordered a package from them on Monday the 13th 2017 and they took till Monday the 20th 2017 for a overnight package. I called them about five times and because the tracking wasn't showing where it was. Their excuse was the weather from the east coast, but I got a package from UPS that took only two days from the east coast the day after my order from fedex and not only that they didn't ship it to my house. I had to pick it up, they didn't call me or notify me. I please advise to everyone to don't use. FedEx is a horrible company and the customer service is horrible as well, they don't talk or help you, they are there just to type and nothing else. There is no customer relations, you're just a number.

I would give FedEx a minus 8 stars but they don't offer that. I tracked my package saying it would be delivered today so I stayed off work to wait for it. So about 10:00 I looked up where my package was and it said attempted delivery... what? I've been here all day so I call the company and they tell me that they will redeliver at about 3:00 and the driver has been off already and they have to try and redeliver it tomorrow or I have to be inconvenienced and not to mention I have to use my gas for a package that I already paid for shipping for and go pick it up. This company sucks. Don't use them if you can. Avoid it. They are a rip-off and they will cheap you out of your shipping cost.

We told them that the office does not open until 10am and to put it in the notes because the package was urgent. Again Monday morning driver arrives at 8ish prior to office opening. Again no package and I'm out 61.00. They redelivered Mon afternoon. FedEx refuses to give me credit or a refund.

I never received any notification. On the message of the delivery I asked if they can call me so I can make myself available but they didn't. If someone takes my shipment what am I supposed to do? On 3/09/17 I have sent a package to Roxbury, MA for 8 AM delivery. I was charged about $54. The package was delivered at 11:52 AM the next day (almost 4 hour delay). When I called FedEx customer service on the 10th I was asked to call after 4 or 5 days so that the billing is completed and I will be given credit/refund. I called FedEx on 3/18 and I was told the delay in delivery was weather related so I will neither be given credit nor refund. On 3/9/17 and 3/10 there were no major issues related to weather in PA, NY and MA which is route any reasonable service will take.
So I did not understand what kind of fast one FedEx was pulling on me. I was told that all express packages go to Memphis and from there they are dispatched and Memphis had thunderstorms, and hence the delay. FedEx has an archaic centralized routing system and the route planning is inherently flawed. So when you take your package to your local facility it will go to Memphis, TN or Anchorage, Alaska and hence, there will always be a chance of weather related issue. So in this case I am paying for the inefficient planning system of FedEx.
Another important issue is, currently weather forecasting systems are fairly accurate and 24 hour predictions are useful in planning. So when I am giving the package at my local facility, FedEx should be able to predict that my expected delivery, with a high probability will be off by 4 hrs. Then leave the decision to me, whether to take that risk or not. If FedEx has dummies doing the planning, should I be responsible for their lack of insights into how route planning needs to be done? Well this is the last time I will use FedEx, which not only delayed delivery but not willing to accept its lack of sophisticated route planning system and make me pay for its incompetence.

Another package of two tires was delivered to a completely different address and when the police got involved the people that had my stuff were able to blame the fedex driver. I blame them both. Who accepts a package that has another persons name and address on it. But I think the better question is, what level of incompetence does a person who delivers packages for a living, but cannot read a simple address, have? I believe the station manager is just holding our package out of spite at this point because I sent in an email complaint.
We had two deliveries expected this past Sat. We are open 99% of the time on Sat. One delivery was coming out of Greeley and one out of Johnstown. The Greeley package was delivered as they usually do but the Johnstown package was not. Instead the driver marked our business as closed. I contacted FedEx to find out what happened and they told me that due to weather it would be delivered the next day. 3/10/17, the package never came, I called to request Saturday shipping and was told only Target could, so I called them... to call FedEx... to request it. I was told Saturday shipping was approved and it would be there on time, it was never delivered. I was then told it would be delivered today, 3/13/17. The tracker for this package has no available shipping info and has not updated since 3/9/17 at 4 AM. I called FedEx to find out what was going on, nobody has any idea where my package is and there is nothing on record of the package.
There's supposedly cases going on with this but I receive no updates or information from anyone, and every time I call it's like starting over just to get the same info and answers. I'm then told that I should ask Target to send another of this "out of stock everywhere" item to me because they have no idea how long it would take to find, Target tells me they can't do that mid-investigation let alone because they don't HAVE any left. Needless to say, the package never made it to my hands. The tracking information indicates that it was delivered at 11:something in the morning, but it does not say WHERE the FedEx driver left it. I wasn't home Friday so they couldn't leave the package. They would deliver on Monday between 10 AM and 3:30 PM. Fair enough. I made arrangements to be home during that time. SATURDAY. I received another email that they tried to deliver but I wasn't home. I was a bit confused since they said Monday. They also have a package for me from Amazon.
MONDAY 10 AM. I receive an email that I wasn't home and that they couldn't leave the package. However, they did leave the package from Amazon. But I am home and there is no package. After a call to FedEx I tell the person the situation and they ask me for the door tag number. There is no door tag. I figure it must've been delivered to a different address, there's no door tag. She tells me that either I wasn't home or the address is wrong on the package. I tell her that I am home and the delivery address on their email is correct. She will call the driver and have them pick up the package and redeliver. I'm also told Fed Ex will call me to let me know it's on the way.
MONDAY 2 PM. I received no call and I called again. I'm told that it will be there by the end of the day. They will call me. MONDAY 4 PM. I received no call and I called again. I'm told that it will be there by the end of the day. They will call me. MONDAY 6 PM. I received no call and when I call them they tell me that it's back at the station and will be delivered tomorrow. I asked about the assurances that it would be delivered today. The person apologizes. I ask if it could be delivered after 3:30 PM. The person tells me that they have placed a note for the driver to deliver the package after 3:30 PM on Tuesday. They give me a number to use to follow the case.
TUESDAY 3:15 PM. I get home and the Amazon package is waiting at the door, and a door tag saying that the computer couldn't be delivered because I wasn't home. I called FedEx and gave them the number for my case and they said they didn't have it on record. They apologized and said the driver would be back, and that the door tag was never entered into their system. They assure me that FedEx will call me in the next hour with an update. TUESDAY 5 PM. No call from Fed Ex, so I call them, and the person gives me another case number, and tells me that the package is back at the station. Perhaps I could drive there and pick it up. I have no interest in driving 2.5 hours round trip in traffic because they have problems doing their job. I ask if they could deliver it to another address tomorrow. They take down the address and assure me this won't be a problem.
WEDNESDAY 3:15 PM. I have a meeting and have only been home 15 minutes. The doorbell rings and there is FedEx with my package. At my home - not the address I asked them to deliver at. I sign for it. I ask if he had instructions to deliver it to a different address. He says that he can't do that. THURSDAY. I get a call from FedEx asking if I received the package, because they would like to close out their ticket on my case. In short. The people on the phone were very polite, but not very helpful. They told me only what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone, and didn't follow through. I would never trust this company with something I need to send, and will ask who the carrier is when I deal with companies in the future. Let me ask you one question: Why would a delivery service that markets itself as the essential alternative for business and personal deliveries only ever DELIVER BETWEEN 9AM-5PM, Monday through Friday? I'll tell you why: because Fed Ex made the decision to conform to normal office hours. This would be fine if, like the United States Postal Service, they were given a key to get into the apartment building to place the packages by the mailboxes. Instead, every time I order products online from a company that uses Fed Ex, I have to WALK a MILE to go PICK UP the PACKAGE DURING my LUNCH BREAK at work. Completely unacceptable. I purchased a Japanese style display cabinet over the internet which had to be shipped from Spain and the seller used FedEx. Subsequently I received a phone call from my local FedEx depot saying they couldn't deliver the item as it was broken so I had to go to them to see what had happened. On examining the item it was clear that it had been dropped and the item was completely broken so I took photos and got the manager to sign to say the item was broken on collection. I then contacted FedEx Customer Complaints Department and explained the situation to them, and asked them to reimburse me for my costs.
Over a protracted period they never denied damaging the item but tried to say it was inadequately packaged which was not the case so I was left with no choice but to inform them that I would therefore take them to the Small Claims Court which I did. I won my case but FedEx still refused to pay so I had to issue a warrant and only then did they offer me a part payment which I refused. The warrant was executed and I received the full amount and my costs. I think FedEx's approach is just to ignore complaints in the hope that people will give up and just go away, and in my view FedEx are morally " bankrupt," and if you feel you have a justified complaint don't give up as there are ways of getting a fair outcome, and I for one would never use their services.

Terrible Customer "No" Service is all I can say. I sent a FedEx Priority Overnight item from Riverside, CA to Los Angeles, CA (50 miles) and the package didn't arrive by 10:30 as promised. Client contacted me this afternoon and after I checked the tracking I too noticed it wasn't delivered. I went to the FedEx facility (Magnolia, Riverside) to ask for my refund as FedEx offers a "money back guarantee" even if delivery time is late by "60 seconds," or so they say in the website. When I went in to the facility they said that the item hadn't been delivered on time because the driver was extremely late picking up the packages (FedEx' fault), he was so late that he didn't even scan the packages before taking them. They couldn't refund me the money because they had to do an internal investigation and suggested I contact 1800-GOFEDEX (Memphis, TN).
Brittany, from Bristol, TN, was even worse and I was really disappointed when she tried telling me that the reason it was late was because the package needed to travel from Riverside, CA to the processing center in Memphis, TN. She insisted that the package needed to make a 3,400 mile trip for it to be processed in order to be delivered overnight to Los Angeles (horrible excuse) and since Memphis, TN was experiencing weather problems that FedEx wouldn't honor the money back guarantee. In addition, she insisted that the transaction hadn't posted (even though I paid $33.77 cash for the service) and that FedEx wouldn't help me out.
Poor customer service all around especially since FedEx has in writing a money back guarantee. Before leaving the facility they took my name and number, and said they would follow up but a company of this size and reputation needs to improve customer service. Can't fully express my frustration and disappointed because I was made to feel like I did something wrong or wasn't understanding when from the onset they said the driver showed up late and admitted it was their fault.

My letter carrier has been kind enough to put it inside the mailbox (which is illegal) and also has placed it in a lockbox at the post office (25 mi. away) leaving me a key in the mailbox to pick it up when we go to town. The last time I made a complaint, I was assured that his manager would contact me within 24 hrs. I'm still waiting, that was 6 months ago. They said I could pick up my package at the FedEx facility a half hour away after 6:00 pm.
Using the address provided, my GPS led me to a spot a block away from where I needed to go. There was no sign for customer pickup. I had to park in the street with my flashers on. Then empty my pockets and go through a metal detector just to stand in the waiting room while the security guard called about my pickup. They said, "Your package didn't make it back from the truck." They would attempt a second delivery on Saturday. I work until 3:00 on Saturday. The pickup facility closes at 3:00. This is typical of my experience with FedEx. At least it's not 'Home Delivery', which is completely closed on Monday, my next day off.
Every time I get a shipment notice from FedEx, I think, "Oh God, this is going to take days to straighten out." I actually avoid internet businesses that use FedEx. Granted, this is a signature-required package, but I'm not going to let FedEx leave an expensive package on my front steps where it can be stolen or rained on. (I sent instructions to leave the package at the SIDE door. The notice was on the front door.) Their motto should be, "If it's FedEx, it's Fudged Up."

I ordered some live aquarium plants good and a test kit. It was supposed to be delivered before 4:30. At 8:30 I called customer service and was told that they would have a local representative call me. Basically I am out $183 and they don't where the package is. This has never happened before. FedEx needs to use a call center in the US because I couldn't understand the representative all that. I will contact the place I ordered from and tell them to send the other part of the order a different way.
Updated on 02/25/2017: I just got off the phone with a 'customer service' representative from FedEx. I was told that they tried to deliver a package but in reality they didn't. Now they want me to drive to Mobile Alabama to pick up this package when I paid for home delivery. This is totally unacceptable.

I have been battling this issue for several months now. I use Amazon (and others) quite often. Even after speaking with several (8 to be exact over this time period) Customer Service Personnel (Even 2 at the Local Terminal), the drivers (I am told sub-cons) will go directly to the Office and drop off my packages; No Door Tag... nothing. Only an email stating that it had been delivered to the Office.
In one case, the item was perishable and was left at the office over the weekend. I was not aware at that time to check (now I know) and the item had to be thrown out. This seems to be an issue with FedEx Ground. I have not had this problem with FedEx Home Delivery. It is sad (if not funny) that the representative will go on a speech about leaving a signed note the door accepting the package to be left. When I explained that the Driver had to COME TO THE DOOR FIRST, there was silence on the other end. So beware. If you are expecting a package to be delivered to your Apt Door via FedEx Ground, it is best to check at the office the day that the delivery is scheduled. This is a HUGE Issue and very Poor Customer Service.

FedEx is constantly losing my packages. I ordered a wedding dress and shoes for an out of the country wedding, they lost it and had the nerve to put my name and say it was delivered. I tried to send off an application for something important. The package contained social security card, drivers license, and a lot of personal information with a check. They lost that too. Never scanned in so the tracking # "doesn't exist". I ordered 4 pairs of shoes from a website for an upcoming vacation, for some reason they sent 1 by UPS which I received days ago, FedEx has failed to deliver the other 3 pairs to this day. I'm just waiting for the order to be returned to the shipper and to get a refund at this point. I don't understand why FedEx is so terrible at doing the one thing they're supposed to do... Deliver packages.
The worst thing is to have a package with SS numbers and personal information just floating around somewhere. I could very well become a victim of identity theft all because of them and they just keep telling "We're sorry." Sorry won't keep someone from opening a line of credit with all my information! FedEx sucks. I would've been better off sending by regular mail! Never again will I use FedEx or order from a company that uses FedEx! Just too many important things lost for no damn reason.

The staff at the FedEx Ground in Effingham, IL need to be replaced as they can not get most packages delivered correctly in their delivery area. FedEx needs to send corporate in to do some major clean up of staff in this office STAT. Since when does FedEx only attempt once on a package then send it back? This act of only one attempt is STEALING from the company that delivered the package as that company does not get reimbursed for the delivery charge. FINE THEM & lock them up.

This is the second time I have had a package said to be delivered to my door that was not. The tracker said it was delivered but I was home all day and nothing was delivered. I called FedEx and they opened a case after asking me 50 questions like I'm an idiot who does not know their own address. Why are they still in business when they are messing with mail? It's a federal offense. Is there no way we can put them out of business?
