I ordered a gift 10 days before I needed it on April 30. Federal Express was informed of the pick-up on April 23 before noon. It arrived in their facility the next day at 9 pm. It was going from Keasbey, NJ to Silver Spring, MD. That is less than 200 miles. Federal Express sent it to Martinsburg, WV, where it sat for 3 full days before moving. Also, the package traveled 347 miles instead of 200. Then Federal Express blamed the excessive time on the Post Office, which received the package 7 days after starting the package's journey. Shame on Federal Express. They take a week of wasted time, and blame the Post Office for one day.

Sent package to wrong address. Realized it shortly after dropping package off. Called customer service to request the address be corrected. The waste of space I talked to said she made the change. No mention of a $16 charge. She was as bad at communicating as any human has ever been in the history of humans with poor communication skills. So the next day I called back just to verify the change was made. The person I talked to said there was no record of any sort of address change, and to make an address change would cost $16.
Completely ** up charge, IMO, being more than the original shipping cost, but they've got me in a place where I essentially have no other option other than kiss the package goodbye, so of course, being a ** company, they'll rip the customer off when they can. So I agreed to pay it. But why the ** do they allow an employee to work for them who not only simply pretends to do her job, but also doesn't even mention that what she's pretending to do comes with a price? ** lazy. ** FedEx. Going UPS until they inevitably do something ** like this as well.

How hard is it to give estimated date of arrival for tracking a package. I have a package coming and the original expected arrival was 4/28, a Saturday. Then someone changed the date to Friday the 27th. So I checked tracking, as of Friday the package was still 20 hours away. So why was the date changed without a chance in hell of it getting here. Not only did they not meet the Friday date but they did not show up on Saturday either. This is a recurring problem with FedEx. Funny UPS and USPS does not have this issue. If they give a date it's pretty rare that they don't show up. FedEx what is the issue? You run these shipping routes dozens of times a day and you don't know how long it takes yet. You should be able to give an arrival time down to a 4 hour window. Get your ** together.

FedEx has really gone downhill. UPS, and USPS, take 3 to 4 days to get a package from Florida to Washington. FedEx takes 11 to 14 days. They're very careless and damage your packages now, which they never used to do. And good luck filing an insurance claim with those morons. In a nutshell FedEx is now become the WORST SHIPPER EVER!!!

When something 'absolutely, positively has to be there overnight', FedEx was the hands down winner and the best in the business. Sadly they have sunk to the bottom of the pack. Their delivery times are abysmal, probably because they subcontract their delivery drivers!!! USPS has faster delivery. FedEx stinks now.

We are downsizing. I have had positive experiences selling to with Replacements, Ltd. in NC. They specifically instructed me to send my crystal iced tea glasses and china soup bowls by FedEx. The contents were wrapped in bubble wrap and paper. Each box had FRAGILE written on every side of box. Replacements, Ltd. claim to FedEx said: package rattles when picked up (the crystal). The package with the china says "contents protruding". Do you suppose I sent them that way?? Apparently FedEx does. They have sent me 3 letters on each claim denying my claim. No reason given. The letters all are their standard rejection letter. My understanding when I shipped my packages was each package had $100 worth of insurance. My claims are for $36 and $14. Their insurance "investigations" are a sham and a fraud. Will I ship with FedEx again? NO. Will I discourage my friends and family from using FedEx?? YOU BET.

On February 22, 2018 I returned a lens to a photo company. After not having a refund in a couple of days, I called the company to learn that the package had not been received. I pulled out my tracking number from FedEx and quickly learned that it was not being tracked. The number was not in the system. I called FedEx and reported what was going on and I was told that a claim would be filed. About a week later I called FedEx again to get the status of the claim, and after speaking with another CSR I now only learned that the claim had not been filed, there was no record of my call in the first place. From this point on, it was downhill. I called the authorized drop-off facility to learn that they do not keep records of what is picked up by FedEx or the other that pick up at their facility. Unfortunately, I did not get a receipt or I lost it. I had dropped off other packages, so I had receipts related to those packages.
I made about 10 or 11 more calls to FedEx and each time I would have to repeat the story over and over again, because there was absolutely zero documentation of any of the calls. I became extremely frustrated, so I wrote a very strong letter to the CEO of FedEx and to an assistant at the Corporate Office in Tennessee. I received a call that very day and of course had to go over the information again. She related she would check on it, which was what others whom I had spoken with said they would do. One particular person said that they would get with the local FedEx facility to see which employee worked that particular time and facility, and even when as far as saying they would look at security footage. The representative from the Corporate Office promised to call me back after her investigation. She did not, so I called her after about two weeks.
She was unable to speak with me at the time, (so convenient), but I later got a voice mail indicating that her search did not find my package and that there was not anything they could do. In the process of this incident, I did learn that some workers pick up packages, take them to the truck and scan them instead of actually scanning them while they are in the facility. So, if you do not get a receipt, there is nothing you can do about a lost package. My concern is the fact that it was not scanned when picked up from the authorized FedEx facility, but even more concerning is that when you call FedEx, they do not even bother to document the call.
Also during the course of this incident, I learned just minutes before I decided to send a letter to the CEO via email that I had to file a claim online. This I tried to do, but you cannot even file a claim if the tracking number is not in the system... at this point you have to print out the claim form and mail it in. Losing a package is one thing, FedEx doesn't even document conversations unless you have a claim filed. On March 10, I was given a case number, but keep in mind this is not a clailm, although you are lead to believe it is and something is being done on your "case". Why even give someone a "case number" if nothing is really being done.
So, of course, if at all possible I will not use FedEx, not because the package was lost, but because of the lack of concern related to the loss. Customer service was terrible. If I am forced to use FedEx, because I received a shipping label for returns from a company that uses FedEx, I will definitely make sure that I get a receipt and make a copy of it, as well. I hope I never have to use FedEx again, though.

I just got off a call with a FedEx representative regarding a ground pickup. I have called FedEx seven times in the last two week - six of these calls were in the last week. The purpose of my call was to have a package picked up at my home and returned to a merchant. No one came for the first scheduled pickup for April 13th so I rescheduled for April 21st. However, the merchant scheduled a pickup for the 23rd so I contacted FedEx so they wouldn’t send two trucks out. I was informed that the Saturday pickup was canceled and they would arrive on Monday the 23rd. A truck came on Saturday who couldn’t pick up the package because it wasn’t ready then one person came on Monday to pick up a 120 lb box. I called FedEx back and they scheduled another pickup for April 24th because they said the pickup scheduled for April 23rd was in the system as an Express pickup but should have been scheduled as a Ground.
By the way, the FedEx customer services rep was the one who determined how it was to be listed, not me! Today, April 24th around 6:50 pm I am waiting on the truck to pull up and decide to call to confirm the pickup - you know be proactive so I won’t waste my time again. The automated service stated that there was a pick scheduled for 7:14 pm. I gave the customer services rep the confirmation number and tracking number. She informs me that they can’t pick it up because my confirmation number is wrong. I tell her that there is a possibility that I am using the wrong number because I had so many of them but there should be a truck coming either way… long story short – this person either does not understand English or thought it would be nice to push my buttons. She kept repeating that the confirmation number I gave her was wrong so we needed to reschedule.
BUT the tracking number was right and it was listed that I had a pickup scheduled. Then, told me I was acting unprofessional because I cursed at her. Forty-minutes after hanging up with the customer services rep and after the pickup time according to the automated service, I call back to confirm because now I’m worried. The new customer rep states that there is nothing showing. There is no pickup scheduled!!! She states that it was canceled and that she can help by rescheduling it. At this point I believe the other lady canceled it just to be a *insert explicit word here*. I ask to speak to a supervisor who informs me that I cannot make a complaint about the first rep that I spoke with today because they don’t know who I spoke with. Then goes on to ask me if it’s a ground or express pickup. WTF!
I feel like I am in the twilight zone. Has FedEx forgot what customer service is? Customer Service is everything in today’s society and can easily ruin a business. This entire thing has costed me money and time that I can’t get back. This is not the first time I’ve had issues with FedEx however, it will be my last. Not only will I never use FedEx, I will never again order from a place that uses FedEx. Though FedEx may not care about little ol’ me, big companies don’t want people avoiding them due to their afflictions with incompetent companies.

I have a basic question for FedEx. Why do they not automatically credit customers account when they fail to deliver the package on time. Everything is computerized and should be very easy to accomplish a automatic credit but they are making me wait for the package to be delivered, going on four days which should have been overnight, then spend additional time calling customer support again. If there is no weather problems and it is just the lack of FedEx fulfilling the agreement automatic credit should be applied for the actual time it took to get delivered. Think about it folks. FedEx is hoping you do not spend time trying to get credit so they can get paid for a breach of contract. NEEDS TO CHANGE!

This was a very important package sent by Integrity Rx pharmacy using FEDEX. We stayed at home waiting for the package. One of the most important packages of our lives with medication that was sent with special mail overnight. This was for having a baby and it is Saturday night and package not delivered. Why? Because it is an apartment in a gated community and the person needs to press the apartment number and ring the bell. It chose not to do that but instead left a notice on the door.
Now with a package that is overnight to do that and medication that needs to refrigerated that is out of my understanding to act like that. Beware. They do not care about anything!!! Called the customer service and it was like what the heck. "We can ask the pharmacy reimburse you" after telling them that this was medication. It was supposed to be delivered to have a baby. My wife needed one more day of medication. This people have been delivered before and they know that if they ring the bell somebody will open the gate. Our purchase of over $2000 was never delivered. Thankfully, the company we ordered from offered to resent for free if the original package didn’t show up in 2 weeks and as long as we would sign for it. We were more than happy to sign for the package and my husband asked for the package to be delivered to his work as he knew he would be there all day. It was instead sent to our house, and as there was no one there to sign for it, the package could not be delivered. My husband called FedEx and arranged for the package to be sent to a drop location where he would pick it up the next day.
When he went to the location, the box was not there and he was told it was on route to our house again and there was nothing we could do to change the location it would go to. So, I cleared my schedule to sit at home. The estimated time of delivery came and went, I called and was assured it would be there sometime in the next 8 hours. I stayed at home, by the door waiting. Then, I got a call saying they couldn’t deliver the package because no one was home? I called that minute and was told they couldn’t have the driver come back.
There was nothing they could do for 24-48 hrs. We would have to pay to have them drop it off again as we failed to be home on two occasions(!) They are going to send the package to the locked facility again (hopefully) where we should be able to pick it up in the next couple of days. I cannot tell you how much time this has taken, how many lost hours of work, how many lost hours of sleep (we are trying to start a business and this package contains the brass pieces that would enable us to complete a big order, finally putting us in the green after 3 years.
Without it, we won’t be able to complete the order on time and could lose the order, setting us back tens of thousands of dollars). No one at FedEx cares. It seems there is nothing they can do. Which I think is wrong. A business SHOULD care about its customers and try to accommodate our needs. They are too big. I will be avoiding them in the future and will be recommending everyone else with a pulse and a brain do the same. UPS and USPS seem to do a (much) better job in my experience. However, I honestly might even stop ordering online. Not worth it.

However, I've now had three monitors broken by FedEx as they must drop the boxes from 5 story height above the ground with no consideration to the contents. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've filed a claim with them, there is always SOME loophole that they find to not pay me for their damage. It's incredible. Not once has a filed claim been paid out by them. Quite honestly, I'm wondering if they pay claims at all?
Another incident when I had a trade show in Texas, only my lid to my 3.5 foot tall case was delivered to the hotel. Yup, you heard that right. A 110 pound case which was apparent on the shipping label and all that was delivered was the lid. After 30 phone calls to FedEx and having absolutely nothing for my trade show for two days, I left TX empty handed. The case was found in Florida several weeks later all while FedEx had already once denied my claim for completely losing $1500 worth of items. I fully expect had the case not been found, they would not be paying for it either. The claims customer department is rude and could care less about damage or loss to your property. After 3 years of spending thousands of dollars with this company, it's time to check out UPS. I don't expect it to go much better there but ANYTHING has to be better than dealing with FedEx. Unbelievable.

This company has the worst delivering system for the market today. I was expecting a package to be delivered that according to FedEx require a signature. They came all of a sudden on working hours and left a door tag with a voided signature stating they will come back next time also during working hours and after that they will return the package. I call then to explain to them that there was not FedEx office nearby. I work during those hours so we needed so whether they needed to call us to know the time of delivery so we can leave work early and be home or schedule delivery at the time we are home. The person who I spoke on the phone explained that FedEx never calls, and they don't schedule deliveries. They attempt twice then return the package. At that point I ask to speak with the manager.
The manager gave me the same version however pretended making accommodations and made a schedule for delivering the package at a specific day and time frame. Despite to this, the delivery guy still showed up on a day and hours I told the manager we are all at work. And was leaving the final notice before returning the package to the sender. Lucky enough, my wife works for a high school and her day was short and able to intercept the delivery guy and retrieve the package which did contained my daughter’s Lenovo laptop that was send for repair by SquareTrade.
Very upsetting experience. FedEx service disregards the customer schedule which could have a simple fix. Any other company we have dealt with always calls before delivery and coordinates with customer time for delivery, which seems the standard these days. Not FedEx. They have poor business sense and their customer service is a one-way street. Their way or the highway... So stay away from FedEx.

Their customer service is a joke! I sent a package to my son on November 30, 2017 containing a new laptop for his use while he was in India. Mistake #1, the package has been lost "held in customs" which means a worker stole it for the value. FedEx has had a trace since January on the package. It was here, it was there and now in customs again. They closed the case and a payment will be issued, no payment for a month, I call back, "Oh, the case is open again, we have a trace out."
I then asked for them to return it, but to date no return, it's in "customs" again, which for anyone who has traveled the world, in rural India means stolen and we are not going to account for it. It is now April 14 2018 (4 months) and I have been once again told, they will put a trace on it and no refund or computer returned until the trace is completed and case closed, unless someone opens it again, which happened. The case will remain open until customs says they don't have it, which while in India, my son was told it was out for delivery... I will never see the laptop or reimbursement because an "international" corporation does not understand the culture they do business in. Think twice before using FedEx for outside Europe. Long story short, FedEx delivered a package I was supposed to receive with Direct Signature Confirmation to the incorrect address and can't find it. But because they got someone's signature for it, they consider it to be delivered. Open a lost package case, their trace department was unable to find the package, it got sent over to claims, and the claim was rejected (or maybe it wasn't).
FedEx is telling the shipper that the insurance claim was denied because they received a signature and insist that it was delivered to my address (it wasn't, I have security cameras, I was home, I would have proof that they walked up to my house). But FedEx is telling me that the claim was paid out. I get told different things by different FedEx employees every time I call their customer support. (I've been told that the claim has been paid out, that the claim has been rejected, that it hasn't been investigated at all, that the shipper never insured the package, that it was delivered as expected, that it's lost...) I'll never use their service again.
FYI: The driver was sent from the Troutdale, OR shipping facility. I spoke to one of their floor managers, Steve, and he had no record of a trace ever being attempted or requested on my tracking number to his facility, so FedEx lied to me about even attempting to find my package (a Sonos Sound Bar). I'm going to guess that one of their employees stole it because I spoke to all of my neighbors who could have received it and nobody received a package and the shipper said he sent it in the original retail package (so everyone could see exactly what was inside). Filed a complaint with the FBI internet crimes complaint center as per eBay policy, filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, not sure what else I can do.

I ordered a rather large package prior to going away for a long weekend and didn't dream that it would have been delivered so quickly. So, along with putting my mail from the USPS on hold, I went to the FedEx website to put a vacation hold on my package, hoping to have it delivered the day I was returning from vacation. I went to the site, place the delivery hold and I thought all was well and good until the next morning when I received an email that stated that my package would be delivered in 2 days when I would be well on my way to the beach. Thinking I had best call rather than try to take care of this online, I called and was assured by the agent that the package would not be sent out for delivery until I was back home.
The next morning, I received two emails from FedEx, one stating that I would receive my package on the original delivery date and one stating that I would receive my package the day following the original delivery date, still 3 full days prior to my returning home AND that they would be delivered to my local FedEx drop off at my neighborhood Walgreens, which I did not in any way authorize. I called again and explained the problem and was told that there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to someone who was a native English speaker and was told that I would have to call back after 7:00 am.
After 7:00, I called back and spoke with 'Charlie' who assured me that it was a 'simple request' and that he would take care of the matter. The next day, several hours into my trip on my way to the beach, feeling confident that my package would be delivered to my house I received a phone call from Walgreens stating that my very large package had been delivered and that I would need to come and pick it up because they had nowhere to store it. I finally worked out an arrangement with them so that I wouldn't have to backtrack and return home.
The next thing I had to figure out was how I was going to get this package back to my house. Thankfully, I got all of that worked out but my question is, why, after spending what amounted to several hours on the phone, can't FedEx get a simple vacation hold for delivery of a pack right? After reading all the complaints on this page and others, I think that FedEx best be getting their act together. I, for one, will never choose them if I need to ship something.

The lack of training with FedEx phone agents and the decline in FedEx customer service is astonishing. You have to go through at least ten automated requests to get a live agent, finally just repeating "agent" over and over. Then the average wait time is at least five minutes. I have a standard American accent, and in many of interactions with agents, I had to repeat my request several simply to schedule a pick-up, finally spelling out the words "pick-up." Three times the agent had to check with his "manager" to confirm that, having an account, I did not have to give package measurements.
On two occasions the agent did not understand the word "concierge". On another I was on hold for 18 minutes while an agent tried to reach a supervisor because he couldn't figure out how to enter an address. I wrote to FedEx to express my concern over these issues, and received a reply which had nothing to do with my email. On this most recent call, while out of town and trying to get a local FedEx phone number to ask a question, the agent could not understand what I wanted to ask the local office, and disconnected the call. I am switching my service to UPS and recommend you do the same.

I have lived in my condo for over 6 years, and I have never had a single package that was sent through FedEx arrive unless I was home. Every single time I call the company, they blame the shipper, stating the shipper wants it this way. Yet, I'll get packages sent from the same shipper through either UPS or USPS, and I will not have any issues with them. In fact, when FedEx fails to deliver a package I'll return it and have it sent UPS or USPS, and I'll get it without any issues. The other excuse I get is that because I live in an apartment-style home, they can't just leave the package, even at my insistence.
My options when I have a package delivered through FedEx are: 1. Take off work, which costs hundreds of dollars a day. 2. Have the item shipped to a holding facility. This isn't always an option. The holding facility is not the same as the shipping facility, so I have to wait for it to be delivered from the shipping facility to the holding facility, and then go the holding facility to get my item. 3. Return the item and have the item shipped through another shipper. This costs the sender double, because they still are charged for the shipment, but are also charged for the return of the item. Plus, they pay to ship it to me through another carrier. This gives extra delays, as it takes time for the item to be returned and then to be shipped again. FedEx has a lot of excuses for these issues. They usually blame the sender and say "the sender wants it this way." But really, they are the only major shipping company I have issues with.

Delivery driver came by once and put a door tag on gate and I signed it where he put it in plain sight on gate so he could deliver if something ever came up and I wasn't able to be home. I work nights so I'm usually always home. Next day stayed outside working on vehicles all day waiting on my package which was for the vehicle I was working on. It never came and I stay outside all morning and at night all the way until after midnight and no package.
Went online to check status and the driver had put, "Delivery Exception. Customer not home or business closed." Not only was I there but my door tag was signed and waiting. So I got a few hours sleep and got up and went outside and called FedEx and talked to a line of people with holding on the line in between and having to explain myself to each one and the last guy I talked to told me a case # then said they would call me back in 2 hours. They never did. So I go outside and spend another whole day and night until past midnight outside waiting for my package and they never came so once again I go online and the delivery driver once again scans the package and makes another door tag and it says, "Delivery Exception. Customer not home or business closed."
So next day call them again and they tell me it’s on delivery. Would be there that day. So I spend another whole day outside waiting and no delivery and I go on there and it says "Delivery Exception customer not home or business closed" and the people I talked to promised it would be there and so the next morning I call and I have had enough talking to people that just get paid to talk to you so they can say they have support.
So I ask for management or that specific ship center management so they forward me to a guy who definitely wasn't a professional customer service in his slang words but he told me he was an assistant manager over that area and I explained what was going on and he said the guy put 3 door tags and showed he had scanned the package and that he had to go by what the delivery driver had did and I said I have security cameras that we can go back on and I can show him he didn't come and he says, "Well he scanned it 3 times. It has to sit in their shipping center for 5 days."
And I said, "I got proof he lied and is not doing his job and that means I've already waited 10 days for it to get to where it was first at then the 3 days the delivery driver lied about and then another 5 days" and he said, "I could come up there and pick it up" and I said that 70 miles 1 way 140 round trip and their delivery driver was paid and them to deliver it that if it came down to that we were going to get legal proceedings started and I wasn't too happy.
He could tell and also our security cameras of them not coming and the recorded calls of our conversations and video would be put on YouTube and contacting local media. And then he said, "Let me talk to upper management" and he put me on hold. Then he came 5 minutes later and said they could deliver the next day and got direction information and promised delivery and told me the guy’s name that he said was responsible for delivery was a routine area route driver and so I said ok and he said, "He affirmed delivery next day." And I told him, "Thank you."
Then next day back outside waiting and waiting then it was after 1pm I decided to call and see if it had left ship center and it had not and I told them the assistant manager had told me it would be delivered today after talking to his upper management and they started right back where all the other support personnel did and told me it wouldn't be delivered. It was still in ship center for some reason.
So she transferred me to a guy that I'm pretty sure was a guy I talked to the 2nd day and he was trying to tell me the same thing. They kept trying to tell me was it was scanned and they were going by what the delivery driver had scanned and when I said he can scan it anywhere and say nobody was home and not even go by a place the guy just uh uh uh ok but he scanned the package and I was going to have to go get it and then he pushed my last button and I went wild chihuahua on him and then he agreed to have the actual ship center manager to call me. Which I had already been told I would be called by someone and it hadn't happened yet that it was just a way to get me off the line and on to someone else and no one would call but I think I finally broke through.
About 30 minutes later the ship manager called me and was calm and asked directions and details to my address and I told him and he said he would have it sent out. I said ok and I felt he was sincere so later that evening it finally arrived and the package was in poor shape. It smelt like fish and these were brakes that were in it and the packaging was taped and the inside packaging was just in pieces inside and the box was full of holes and I was worried the brakes would be broken.
I'd say somebody was using it for a pissed off toss toys and they were opened and taped up so maybe why it was so hard for the guy to come back and them to get it to me was the driver found him some of someone else's brakes and the manager wrote "Real Temper" on package which I wouldn't have been tempers flaring if he would keep his employees honest or hire them that way and it was like when I talked to him I was calm so for him to write it on package.
The support must have said it if he had been through 4 days of being stuck waiting at home outside and some lazy driver had screwed you over and sent you through all these support techs that have no power. It for someone to talk to. I took pictures so if there is a place I got pics of what it looked like and will post if I can. And I'm sure where I bought them from is more professional than the delivery service they had transporting it.
I've had plenty of problems with UPS as well but not to this extent and it wasn't so difficult to get to talk to the local office and get things straightened out. The best and most successful shipping company in America is the oldest and most experienced. It is The United States Postal Service. I have not had a problem out of them and instead of getting things late I would get them early which is why I choose them and I prefer them to ship to me as well. Someday with the way the others are performing it will soon be only USPS.

This is going to be a very harsh review. One of my credit card companies offered to overnight a replacement card at no additional cost to me, and that they were sending it via FedEx. After the phone call, I learned it was being sent to the building I live in, and I was concerned because I wouldn't be there to receive it, and it's a very public area. I live in a good area, but unfortunately, people do walk off with things. Via tracking, I saw they tried to leave it there and couldn't, of course. The site said they'd leave a slip with instructions so I looked for it when I got home, and they didn't leave a thing saying they'd been there.
I called twice this morning trying to straighten it out, and pretty much the same thing happened each time. I told them...briefly...what happened, and each time they repeated back what I'd just told them. Example: “I am sorry to tell you, but the driver tried to deliver it and you weren't there so he couldn't.” The second time this happened, I asked the person on the phone if he'd listened to or heard anything I said. Yes, I was probably slightly rude at that point, but he was unbelievable. The first person I talked with suggested I leave a slip with my signature allowing them to leave it at the front door. Really? I mean, really? Leave your signature, which would basically be a legal document, allowing them to leave it there unattended? I am sorry but it was incredibly stupid to even suggest that. I tried to work with the second person more than I did the first, but in each case I gave them my name, address, zip code, etc.
Why did they ask me for it a second time saying they'd to verify it when it'd just been given to them? The first person told me they could just leave it there because there was no restriction on it, while the second told me without being asked that they couldn't, followed by...and I'm not kidding... "Well, what do you want me to do about it?"
At that point I told him they just return it to its point of origin, and he said he needed my phone number too so he could verify things. Why did he say, then, that he was asking all the other questions to verify things? I told him that I wasn't giving him my number because he shouldn’t need it at that point, and he said he had to get it from me. I'm sorry, but he doesn't have to get anything from me at that point, and I told him where he couldn’t handle the information he'd just been given, I certainly wasn’t giving him that. The FedEx drivers are great...I deal with them all the time where I work, but the customer service...the people they have answering the phones... they are what hold FedEx back in a less than #1 spot.

Delivering packages - Not on time... Not professional! This company is a disgrace to any and all American companies. Their support is out of El Salvador and their English is poor at best. The phone line quality is also poor! FedEx's tech support is not very knowledgeable and very unprofessional. They call you by your first name like you are buddies! They have consistently not delivered when they say they will. Their website looks appealing yet their features do not work correctly. I spoke with their tech support and they said not to use Google Chrome and to use Internet Explorer. They should put a note on their website of preferred browsers because of Java. Regardless, we did what they suggested and got the exact same website errors of their system being down even though they said it had no problems! What a total waste of time of 1 hour and 20 minutes talking to 5 different people!

I'm so tired of this delivery service. Next to OnTrac, they are the most unreliable business out there. Their drivers are lazy and they lie so they don't have to make delivers. I stopped counting all the "missed attempt" notices I've received because the driver can't follow basic instructions. None of them understand the concept of keypads to locked gates. Their version of a missed attempt is "I can't get in, therefore, I can't deliver." My complex clearly states directions on how to enter the premises, but since the drivers are so lazy or can't read (it's a toss up), they refuse to lift a finger to figure it out. How are you, FedEx still in business as you clearly fail to do the simplest of tasks which ironically is your main task to get a package from point A to point B??!! Worthless!

I had the most worst experience with FedEx. Their customer service is horrible. I had to literally chase my package down for three days. This is actually the first time I’ve had to write a review about a business because the experience was so bad. So if you happen to order something online and you have the option to use UPS, go with them. I’ve never had any problems and they’re very accurate with packages arriving on time and if it’s going to arrive early they’ll at least notify you unlike FedEx.

This happened in one day. I had a return, going back to Amazon. Two boxes of the same dishes, one order. Amazon arranged pickup. FedEx guy leaves a note telling me to take it to go to a UPS. I have a broken arm and a small car. And I paid for this shipping. So Amazon takes care of me, as they always do, and gives me another label. FedEx shows up again, and says they cannot pick up (even one box!). I ask if they will take the first and second label, put them together, and pick up both boxes. The "delivery" person finally agrees.
I coincidentally also have an entire patio set which was to be delivered to me. It was a replacement to a previous one that they had damaged in transit. They delivered the first one, but said that the second one, which was much smaller, could not be delivered because it was "too big". Of course they didn't bother to call me or the sender. Of course they picked it up. The problem somehow occurred when it was only 40 miles from my house.
Believe it or not, also on the same day, a rug was also held. And no, they did not contact anyone at all. When it wasn't here on time, I traced it to their facility, 40 miles away, and it was deemed "2 inches too big". Yes, they had delivered much larger rugs, but somehow this one (yet another vendor... 3 vendors, 3 products, 1 day) had to be picked up by me. And I paid for shipping, mind you.
I despise working with FedEx, and hope they go out of business. They have completely abandoned the concept of customer service and hire the least intelligent people they can. Honestly, what is less expensive to a company, just delivering an item they originally accepted for shipment, or sending it across the country to the seller, and fully reimbursing the seller. They are shooting themselves in the foot. Never again.

I was contacted by the individual whom my item was delivered to her home and informed that my package was at her home. She was able to obtain my information from the delivery box. Human error. I immediately contacted FedEx and informed them of the mistake. I was initially told that the driver would be contacted and asked to go back and pick up item to be re-delivered to me. I waited for three days in which the individual whom my item was dropped off to remained in contact with me informing that the package had yet to be picked back up.
I contacted FedEx on day six and was informed that they would not pick up the item and it was my responsibility to contact Walmart and file a claim to have my money reimbursed although it was not an error of Walmart but an error of FedEx for delivering to the wrong residence. I asked repeatedly regarding FedEx grievance process however was never provided the information. The claim form is another joke as you get a follow up email requesting all sorts of additional information! This for an item that cost $10! Their goal is to make it so difficult that you give up. (As proof of them leaving it at the wrong address is that someone found my package on a totally different street even though it was correctly addressed - and, yes, my address is in GPS systems!) I have never personally used FedEx for shipping, but I recently ordered from a company that does. My experience was a nightmare. Please keep in mind that I rarely complain. As a manager in the IT industry, I know that things "happen". So for me to come here and leave a complaint, it's a big deal. My package was supposed to be delivered on 3/20. I did not know that a signature was required, so being that I work during the day, the package was undeliverable. I was not upset, and that was completely understandable. I did find it odd that a door tag was not left, as UPS and USPS always leave one. The tracking site said that it would go out for delivery the next day. The next day, 3/21, we had inclement weather, therefore no attempt was made to deliver. Understandable. I called them for clarification because initially the tracking site said that it would be delivered by the end of the day. I was supposed to receive a callback, but didn't.
The next day, 3/22, the tracking site said that it was out for delivery. I stayed home from work. I didn't even turn on my TV during the day to ensure that I heard them. Around 1:25pm, I get a notification text advising that they were unable to deliver at 1:11pm because no one was available to sign. WHAT?!? I was there the whole time!!! No one came!!! I opened the door to see if a door tag was left... of course there wasn't one there. I called to report this, and the rep kept saying "They will try again tomorrow". She did not understand that I work, and I cannot stay home everyday waiting for a company that may not even show up. I asked for a manager and was transferred to a "Customer Advocacy" group. I explained again that happened and requested that the driver come back (let's be real, they never came initially).
The rep called the "station" and advised that the "station" said that they were not sending a driver back out (again...they never came initially). He offered to have someone call me, and I advised that I didn't feel confident about that because I was still waiting on a callback from the day before. After 2-3 hours and no callback, I called back. I told the rep that I did not want them to attempt delivery and that I would pick it up. They told me that the sender would have to request that because there was a restriction set by the sender that FedEx could not hold it for pickup. I called the sender/company, and they advised that there was a restriction under their insurance that FedEx could not hold for pickup until there were 2 failed attempts. This meant that after 3/23, I should be able to pick it up. The customer service at the company that I ordered from was great. It is a shame that they ship via FedEx.
3/23, I go to work and know that I am going to miss delivery. Although I'm still highly pissed that they LIED about not being able to deliver the day before, I feel a little better knowing that I will be able to pick up on Saturday due to the 3rd failed attempt on Friday, 3/23. I get home on 3/23, and for the first time see a door tag stating "2nd attempt". But hold on... shouldn't this be the 3rd attempt based on you saying that you came the day before???
3/24, I call FedEx again. I am told that 3 failed attempts have been made, and my package is now available for pickup. I am disappointed to hear that it is at a facility 30 miles away, but glad to get it and be done with this nightmare. I drive the 30 miles to the provided location... and that address doesn't exist. I drive a little further back on the road, and do see a FedEx facility with a different street number than what was provided. It turns out that this is not a pickup site, but a warehouse of some sort.
I call FedEx from the parking lot, and this rep tells me that this is not a pickup site (Duh!), and that my package is not available for pickup. He says that he doesn't know why the other rep told me that. According to him, it is set for delivery that day. I told him that it can't be out for delivery because the tracking site doesn't even show that it had been scanned that day. He pulls it up, and says "You're right, it didn't go out for delivery today". At this point, I'M DONE! I tell him to send it back to the sender.
I called the company that I ordered from, and left a voicemail asking them to cancel my order. I assured them that they were not the issue, and I advised that they would never have my business as long as they ship via FedEx. I understand the signature restriction as it was a very expensive item, but I cannot deal with the lies and incompetence of FedEx.
The same company rep that I spoke to on Thursday called today. She was awesome and asked if I would allow her to contact FedEx to see if she could salvage the order. She called them, and got nowhere. They gave her the same non existent address for pickup that they gave me. She said that even if it was legitimate, she would not dare ask me to drive another 30 miles. She also asked if they could deliver it to a FedEx pick center that was actually near my home, and they said that they could not. She offered to have them send her the package back, and she would overnight it to me. It would still require signature, and she would do it on my day of choice that I could be home. I advised that my schedule will not allow it.
She was really sincere and wanted to help, but I told her to move forward with cancelling and to refund my payment. I told her that she was great, but that I would never order from them again with FedEx as their means of delivery. I have ordered very pricy items in the past from another company that required signature, but I have never had these types of issues with UPS or USPS. She said that they have had issues with FedEx, and that they are going to meet with their FedEx account manager about this. I apologize for the lengthy post, but I hope that it helps someone. I don't wish this on anyone, but I am glad to see that I am not alone in my experience.

The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because the rating system requires it. I paid for an express package that was supposed to be delivered on Thursday March 22nd. The package got to the station after the truck left and couldn't be delivered. 1st attempt Friday March 23rd no one was in the apartment, so I called their customer service like 15 mins after the attempt and tell them that someone is now in the apartment, they claimed that they would re-attempt the delivery. I even offered to go pick up the package with an ID and tracking number if the truck was still in the area. Because I know how difficult it is for the "delivery" person to actually deliver a package. So of course they didn't return that day. That's already day number two.
Fast forward to Monday March 26 they "attempted" to deliver but according to the "delivery" person no one was at the apartment, when someone was there the whole time. Not even a courtesy ring. I would had gladly went downstairs to pick up the package if they would had ringed on the intercom. But of course they didn't. Now I call them and they offer to leave my package at a pick-up location. And of course it would not be delivered today to the pick up location, I would have to wait until tomorrow March 27th. So express delivery is useful if you want your package four business days later. So any company that wants to ship me something via FedEx I will make sure to cancel. It's not worth the headache.

This was THE WORST of all shipping experiences I have EVER had, and I've had many more than I can count. FedEx needs to figure out how to deal with apartment complexes because the process is highly inefficient. My delivery apparently was attempted to be delivered 4 days in a row at around noon everyday: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri. Firstly, my apartment complex has a service called Parcel Pending that has large secure lockers that can hold big and small packages. All boxes go in these. Seems like FedEx did not figure this out. Secondly, when I realized that they were probably trying to bring it to my front door I provided my building code to enter my building and instructed them to leave it at my front door and I switched on text updates and requested customer service to let them give me a call when they arrived. Still, I got no text, no call, no delivery on Thursday. Just a message saying it failed at noon-ish.
Now Friday comes around and I'm sitting right in front of my front door waiting to hear a knock or a call or text or something, I even notified my apartment complex main building to accept the package and give me a call when it arrived in case the delivery person took it there instead and while waiting I get an email saying the I refused the package. Are you kidding me?!! I called Customer Service immediately, and they get in contact with the "station", who had nothing to say about this, so she informed me that they will attempt to deliver the package again between 2-8 pm. I instruct my husband to stay home during those hours instead of being at work and I get a missed call and VM from FedEx saying that my package is in some location where I have to pick it up. No mention about the 2-8 pm timeframe they promised.
I mean this is a package, not a priority. Between my husband and myself we have missed 7-8 hours of work WAITING FOR FALSE PROMISES. FedEx straight up LIED to me saying that they attempted to deliver at 11:42 am 3/23/18 to the apartment complex main office because the reps at the main office itself were waiting for the package as well. I will NEVER USE FedEx again if I have a choice. This is absolutely ridiculous and they're also more expensive than other services. AWFUL. SO UPSET.

CAUTION about Federal Express. Some years ago Federal Express had great prices and great Customer Service. No more. FedEx gave me a price of $70.00 for shipping a package. They overcharged us ($129.00). Unfortunately our business has an account with them so there are very few avenues for pursuing this theft by Federal Express. I made ABSOLUTELY sure that the Fedex representative who was quoting the price to me understood every detail. Dimensions, weight, packaging needs etc. They charged my account over $129 for this shipment and then made excuses every time I called to question it. I finally gave up in disgust and wrote a letter to the CEO which was IGNORED until I contacted the Better Business Bureau two months later. THEN they replied with some lies or misinformation (mistake maybe? I think not!) about the weight given. Disgraceful behavior! They could have easily resolved this by making good on their quote.
This is not the first time they have pulled stunts like this with over-pricing. They know what their rates are. WHY do they bait and switch by giving lower prices in quotes to customers VERBALLY and on their website? Instead I must now contact an attorney and sue them. WARNING: It is my opinion that you could very likely be scammed or stolen from by Federal Express. Especially if you use a credit card or open an account. I had an order for countertops for one of my properties, before I could receive them, I need to review a template that was shipped. To save the hassle of shipping to my home while I am not there, I had it shipped to my work address. I kept regular tabs on the process, and once shipped via FEDEX, I noticed a delivery day of Saturday. Being Thursday, I promptly called FEDEX to have them hold the package at the facility so I may pick it up on Saturday (being that the office is closed on weekends).
The operator at 1.800.GoFedEx assured me that I was ok, and the package would be held for pickup on Saturday. Saturday morning I checked the tracking number, only to my shock to see it out for delivery, and a note that package was not delivered because no one was available (shocker). I called 1.800.GoFedEx again, and was told that there must have been a mistake, and that it was for sure going to be held for my pickup on Monday (FedEx Home delivery is closed Mondays, and it was shipped via FedEx Home). The operator even called the hub, to ensure that this would have taken place. He would not give me the number because it was "for internal use only" but assured me I would be able to get the package, and could not before then, because the driver was out making deliveries, and there was no way to contact or make arrangements with him. I reluctantly got off the phone feeling like this was a half measure to their mistake.
Cut to Monday. I travel 30 minutes to the FedEx hub, to which I am greeted with a phone in a sparse room with a single chair and no heat. I pick up the phone, relay my tracking number, and wait on hold for 20 minutes. When the operator finally gets back on the line, she informs me that the package is on a truck with 200 other packages that were not delivered, and there was no one available to obtain it from the truck. She then offered to have the package held so I may pick it up the next day (Tuesday). I declined since I was assured it would be back for delivery on the truck the next day, and that there was NO REFERENCE TO MY TWO CALLS OR REQUESTS to hold the package anywhere in the system!
It is this kind of blatant disregard for service, and apathy for not only package handling, but customer satisfaction that is the reason I ask everyone to never use FedEx. I have used UPS and USPS with no issue, UPS even has a button push to reroute the package, and it does just that (I have used it myself a few times). This customer service will be the sole reason I never use FedEx and will tell everyone I know of the horrid service, to ensure that my issue does not happen to another, and that perhaps when FedEx loses more market share they can reflect on their shortcomings and know that it was their ineptitude that caused the fall, not any outside influences, but only a failure from within.

No one, no one knows what's going on. If the employees don't know what's going on, how do they expect me to be able to figure out their site. And NO, I do not want to add or download an app that doesn't work. Google up FedEx reviews and read for yourself.

I have sent an envelope via FedEx Priority to Israel, from the U.S. It was sent on Friday morning (Mar. 9), with a promised delivery of Sunday at 6 PM. It is now Friday the 16th and the envelope has not yet arrived. I am ringing up FedEx twice daily - and I hear a different excuse each time. Once the package was misplaced, then there were problems sorting. After that - it was delayed in customs in Memphis (customs on an envelope, in Memphis?). They were saying that they had to send documentation to Israel for customs clearance.
Next - the address was wrong. I checked. It is correct. Then it was a new driver who didn't find the address. They have a phone number - never used it. When I spoke on the phone - they asked again for the phone number 3 times!!! They have promised to call me back with an explanation 4 times. Never did. They are rude on the phone and often just hang up. The best they can come up with "we have good news, it will be delivered next Monday". Oh, and "we are sorry for the inconvenience".

It did not come March 15th and later in the evening we were sent an email that stated that the package would be delivered on March 16, 2018, between 7:35 am and 12:55 pm. Here it is on Friday, March 16th, at 1:40 pm, and this package was not delivered. I called Customer Service and asked for a representative and after a lengthy hold was told that it would be delivered today by 5:30 pm. I've spent countless hours on the phone with Federal Express complaining about deliveries or sitting outside to get deliveries. I've tried home, work and finally my parents home. I thought it might have been due to a specific driver but quickly realized it was not. They consistently lie about "delivery attempted" and even logging it is a "business closed" when the delivery is made at the home. It doesn't do any good to speak with supervisors or leave specific instructions for the driver. You get the same story every time you call. It's all just lies. I now request my deliveries be made by either UPS or USPS. If I can't get that done, I order what I need from someone else. My time is just simply too important and I can't spend it waiting on unreliable delivery personnel or on the phone complaining when there is never a resolution to the problem.

They seem to have a disorganized way of doing things and are the most annoying of the three out of FedEx, UPS, and USPS. With UPS being the most reliable and the post office (which handles a higher volume of my packages) a close second. Because of their recent shenanigans, I now have a complete movie room with no screen (which they seem to have lost or misplaced for three days now, so far).

At the end of last year, I joined a mail service that uses FedEx Ground exclusively. There were two attempts made the first time they sent something to me. The third time, I was home all day teleworking. My security camera footage shows the driver coming to the door with the box AND a new door tag, which he left on the door. No attempt was made to ring the doorbell AT ALL. I called, filed a complaint and two gentlemen delivered the package the next day. This most recent incident, however, caused me to cancel my mail service with this company and draft a complaint to the FedEx's corporate office as well as posting my complaint here.
On March 6th and March 7th, attempts were made to deliver the package and a door tag was left. There are four units in my building but NO unit number was written on the door tag. On March 8th, I was home all day expecting the package. According to the history, the driver claims that he made an attempt at 2:37 pm. When I went to look at the security camera footage, it shows the driver stopping in front of my house and then driving away. HE/SHE NEVER GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK!!!! I called and filed ANOTHER complaint. On March 9th, I was told that someone would call me and schedule a time for re-delivery. That never happened, but online HISTORY says ‘awaiting additional delivery information from recipient’. The recipient would be me and there was NO additional communication with me from FedEx.
When I complained online about the fact that no unit number was even written on the door tag, I was told that my package was at the facility waiting for pick up. That wasn't what the ‘history’ said. Since this is merchandise that I didn’t pay for, I’m allowing it to be returned to the shipper. I don’t know if there is a rule about the number of packages that need to be attempted in a day, if there are bonuses given, etc, but this is ABSURD!!!! Before I order ANYTHING, I will have to check to see if FedEx Ground is used because, if I can help it, I am NEVER going through this with you all again.

I live in the country and depend on deliveries for everything from electronics and clothing to food and wine. The players in this area are UPS and FedEx, so it is a giant step for me to say I will NEVER do business with any online company that uses FedEx for delivery service. This is the tenth time in as many months that our local FedEx guy has misdelivered a package of mine, and signed my name to signify that the package was delivered and signed for. This time it happens to be a camera that I ordered specifically for a trip. Last time it was a case of wine. He usually delivers my packages to someone down the road — and he often delivers THEIR packages to me. So I would guess he may be dyslexic and unable to correctly sequence the numbers in addresses on his route — not exactly a solid qualification for delivering packages.
At any rate, I've had it. Enough is enough. The process is always the same — wait at home all day for a package requiring a signature, then find out at 9:00 PM that the package was delivered and signed for somewhere else. I believe what is happening is that the driver signs for the package himself, and drops it off at the front door of a house where no one is home, but that's conjecture on my part. Whatever the case, any company that ships via FedEx just lost a customer.

Dell for some reason prefers FedEx because this is not the first time I've had this issue with them. I've been home all day waiting on my laptop. They said it would be here before 8 pm. Around 7 I said, "Let me check the tracking." It said that my package has been sent back to the FedEx location because no one was home. I've been sitting next to my door since 10 am. The package was on the truck at 8 am. Since then no one knocked on the door or anything. Not even the little slip they give you to tell you that you messed the package. I didn't even get that.
I called the office to see if the driver can come back. The lady tells me it's too late. The package was checked back in at 7pm. I then ask if there is a way it can be delivered earlier in the day for tomorrow. She told me, "Yes but you can only do it on the website and that it would be $5." After that I hung up. Why should I pay for your mistake? It's not my fault one of your drivers didn't feel like doing their job! They couldn't find the information from their website or from the door tag from the prior delivery miss. They couldn't even contact their own local delivery office. The customer service representative was not very experienced, and offered no help. Their website is also useless. The driver does not bring it to my door he leaves it outside the front gate. I have health issues and that matters. I receive lots from UPS and it is always on time or rescheduled earlier and the driver always leaves it by my front door.

I used FedEx every day while working in Las Vegas Nevada. I depended on them to get things done on time, with complete accuracy. They never let me down! I worked at the warehouse of a performer who expected nothing less than perfection. FedEx was dependable, I never thought about trying a different way of getting what needed to get to this performer or one of his staff. Once I handed over a package, box, envelope to our FedEx person, I felt relief. I knew it would get to where it was supposed to go, and it would arrive on time. Yes, I would recommend FedEx to anyone sending something that needed to be delivered on time and in usable condition.

I appreciate the fact that there are many (would like more) FedEx boxes for drop-offs. I wish the sign on the top that says has been and has not been picked up was true. I think the drivers don't care. It's important when you are dropping for extremely important docs for next day air.

I like FedEx for their ease of using... fast dependable and professional. What is the negative side is their pricing is not uniform. For packages it seems always higher in person.. not just a buck or two like 5-10 higher. And their website could be more user friendly... so many different possibilities of shipping... Then if you calculate a price have that in mind and go to the shipping location it is not even close to the price quoted. They cost more than the post office but I prefer them over the post office... Maybe 'cause it is a private business and not gov't related.

I find them very responsible and prompt. They put packages on my porch bench and ring the bell so I know they left it. I've gotten packages a day earlier than anticipated. I'm very happy with their service. I have shipped packages across country and find their rates comparable but their service faster than other carriers.
