    I just needed one payment for all 15 credit cards I had, I was behind on the payments and I couldn't keep up on them so I'd reached out and Cambridge was able to lower the interest rates. Our credit was locked up for quite a while but we were able to do it. To be able to pay off the large amount of debt that I owed, and lowering the interest rate were just a plus.

    The Cambridge team were always helpful and anytime that I've reached out, I've always gotten an answer. Plus, it's truly been an educational learning experience with Cambridge and not to have more than one or two credit cards for main purposes is the huge financial insight that I have gained. Cambridge made it very easy for me to pay off my debt. After I've taken all that time to pay off the debt that we had, I wish more people would pay off their debt with Cambridge rather than claim bankruptcy because I can name about five people in my family that have done more than once and claiming bankruptcy is an easy way out but it kills their credit.

    My wife and I both retired and had income. But when she passed away, my income took a hit of about 45% and unfortunately, I still had bills. I had two options. One was to declare bankruptcy which I wasn't too excited about doing and the other was to seek out credit counseling and I decided to go with that. I did a comparison of the various credit counseling services and read reviews from some of the customers of each of the services and Cambridge was the best choice.

    Their reps were very understanding, helpful and proactive. They lowered my interest rates and payments which helped me immensely. I was paying a number of different creditors but I pay one payment to Cambridge a month and that made it a lot simpler. My debt has been reduced considerably and I'm doing better and with much less stress. Instead of bankruptcy, I would recommend a person to approach Cambridge first to see if they could help. It was one of the best decisions I've made at this point in my life and I'm glad I did it.

    I got a little too overboard and wanted to get out of debt. I connected with Cambridge and it was wonderful. I gained a lot of things since I started working with them. They helped me out and they're good people to deal with. I needed to tell somebody from Cambridge though that I had paid through the store 'cause I had the money right then but they had drafted $94 out of my account.     I got laid off and it was a sudden thing and then I found myself with enormous debt. I was looking for a vehicle to help me manage and overcome that debt process. I heard a radio announcement about Cambridge then I called the 800-number. I did the initial intake and they worked out a program with me based on the information that I provided. There were no problems throughout the process. I feel so much better that the process is over. What that program did was it stopped creditors from contacting me directly. And they were paid promptly because they did an automatic debit out of my checking account. So, everything went well and I was pleased with it.

    I was having a lot of financial difficulties and then I found out I was pregnant. I knew that it wasn't going to get any better and I couldn't keep juggling it on my own and I needed some source of help.     I decided to work with Cambridge to lower the interest rate. My daughter also did Cambridge Credit and I learned about them from her. I’m paying service fee but that’s fine because I’ve saved a lot because of them. Everyone's helpful and knowledgeable. They explained everything to me like when one credit card is paid off, the amount that should be charged there was transferred to another account. The only drawback is that it was not explained to me that if I put my card in Cambridge, then it’s cancelled. So when I applied for Macy's, I was not approved because it was included in Cambridge. I should not have included my Macy's card. I always use it and just had a little balance from it.

    We've finished a four-year deal with Cambridge. When we first started, we talked to somebody and gave our information and everything that was going on, and they helped us through the process. It went very smoothly. We’re not completely out of debt but much more so than what we were. Now we’re thinking, instead of buying a new car, we’re just going to put it towards mortgage or something else. We’re already used to it and that way we can be completely debt-free. It was a real easy way and a good program to get into for sure. It has helped us to get out of debt.

They got my bills under control and they handled all the stores that I had credit with. I pay them a certain amount, and they pay them off. It was really good.     Cambridge Credit helped me out a lot. It was my first time, and it actually worked out well for me. I was able to pay off the credit card in full, which is what we want to be doing with credits. I couldn't make multiple payments on major fees from other credit cards, and cutting down that one payment was what worked for me. It was little steps I made that took little chunks and eventually paid off. The finance charges were huge, but they cut it down from 90% to 7% on one card, then another one from 23% down to 4%. I really appreciated everything they did for me. I'd recommend Cambridge Credit to anybody.

    I signed up with Cambridge Credit a couple of years ago. They consolidated four of my cards, lowered the interest rate on all of them, put me on a plan, and then I got a monthly update from them over the course of a couple of years. One by one, the cards got paid off, and I just finished paying off the last one. They sent me a certificate of completion and a record of all of the payments made and when they were made.     Cambridge Credit was very slow to respond once I started the program. They got my money every month, but there were no regular check-ins. When they explained the program to me initially, they said that they would have someone checking in on me, and re-evaluate my budget at any point they want to. They promised a lot of things initially, but didn't happen. Granted, I did finish the program and paid off the old debt, but I feel like there wasn't much interaction. I was essentially paying them just to make the payment, but there was no added value there. In hindsight, I probably could have arranged those similar payments on my own with the company. So in addition to not really understanding what the scope of the program was and also not seeing the added value for what I was paying monthly, I feel it probably wouldn't be something that I would ever invest in again.

    I don't believe they were able to lower my interest rate. They told me what the payment was going to be monthly, told me what their fee was, and that was it. So every month, the payments would come out of my account like clockwork. If I ever inquired as to what the balance was, it would take them every stupid link cycles to get back to me. And by then, the balance was delayed. Then whenever I called to talk to someone, it felt like as an ongoing customer, their push to me was more about, "Okay, we want to sign you on and we know how we can stretch out your payments so that we get our fee every month," but there's no other added services, and that was frustrating. I tried to look into the services they pitched on student loans and it was very hard for me to get a hold of someone. But again, I already signed up for it and I want to finish the program because I don't want this to come up as being derogatory.

    They market themselves as a credit repair company when in actuality, that's not what they are. They are only a debt management. They can help me manage the need that I have, but they can't do anything about negotiating with creditors to remove things on my credit report. As a result, I make the effort to repair the bad standing or eliminate the debt. They need to be very explicit when they're talking to consumers or potential customers, that while they can help with these things, the customers may need to supplement it with something else. Because then, they're given the right of refusal to say, "Okay, well, maybe this isn't what I'm exactly looking for," instead of actually coerced. It would be nice to know why accounts that were on the brink of being removed manifested and committed to me paying those to get the added value from the consumers.

    On the other hand, I got a certificate at the end, so that was exciting. It made me feel accomplished. My experience is done. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. I would explain what the scope of the program is so that they're not under false pretenses about what they're getting into. But personally, I can't see myself doing business with this company again.

    I was in a pretty deep hole. I had a number of institutions I was behind on and I was in that unfortunate position I made. On paper, it looked like I made enough money and I didn’t think anybody would have negotiated with me on an individual basis. I went with Cambridge 'cause I was drowning financially. I was in way over my head and I easily could have gone bankrupt. Cambridge was able to get the interest rate down to a range where I could handle the payments. I gave their people all the information I had and they estimated what they thought they could get the rates down to which would translate to a payment and what the payment plan would be. It was an aggressive plan and it was pretty tough to stay with, but we did. They would also send emails every month and would touch base every now and then.

    Working with them has taught me not to get myself so overextended on credit. However, I didn't realize that in transferring into their program, I wound up being late or not making the last monthly payment. I was over my credit limit on some of the accounts when that happened and I didn’t have the money to go and bring the amount down. In a couple of cases, it took 10 months. These credit card companies, even though I’m making payments every month, posted another late payment on my credit report. It took me four years to clear my credit report which was the duration that I was in the program. The credit agencies go back four years but because they continued dinging me every month for the first 10 months I was in the program, it really sucked. Cambridge didn’t explain that to me very well and they should have done a better job at that. I told them that multiple times. That’s my one complaint with them.

    I was a little leery at first because I had contacted my creditors myself and they would not cooperate with me. I thought of several other places to contact before contacting Cambridge but I took my friend's word because she is reliable and I knew that she would not steer me in the wrong direction. After talking to her, I decided to give Cambridge a call and that was the best call I've ever made. I would definitely tell anyone looking to consolidate and do some other things, that they should give Cambridge a try.

    They made sure that my debt was paid without any hassle. I've heard other friends of mine with horror experiences with having to keep checking to see if everything was paid, but I never had to do that. From the first time I called Cambridge and gave them my information, it was out of my hands. I had nothing else to do with it and they took care of everything. They also told me things to tell the creditors when they call. Then I didn't have any more problems with the creditors calling.

    They made my life much easier because now I'm debt free. I also learned how to control my debt, to make sure that I don't go in over my head, what kind of credit cards to look for as far as interest rates and making sure that I keep a hand on things because it's so easy to get out of hand. I'm more cautious now. Even though I'm out of debt, I won't say that I won't go back and get another credit card, but I will be more disciplined this time than I was before.

    I had used Cambridge years before and my first experience was so positive so I used them again. Some creditors have been tenacious in coming after me in the past and they’re absolutely rude. When I've called Cambridge, I've always been a little exasperated about my financial situation but they talked me through the legalities of it and they’ve always put my mind at ease. They were there for me when I needed them and they provided the structure and counseling for me to get through a tough period.

    They got us out of a bind. In some cases, I was looking at 23% ATRs on my credit cards. I was barely able to pay finance charges on some of my credit cards and they were able to get them down to zero, maybe as low as 8%. They would handle ten lines of credit at a time and it was so much simpler for me to make just one payment. One payment would be drawn from my account and then they would disperse the payment to all of them. I was on time every time for all those lines of credit over the course of years. The end result was they improved the credit or saved it. Now I have this extra money that would have been going to paying all these credit cards and we have much more dispensable income now.

    My debt was high. I tried contacting another institution before but because I'm old, nobody would touch me. Cambridge worked with me and told me this is what I would make, which was about half of the amount that I was paying on my bills. Every time I call, they had an answer for my questions. They were always prompt to return my call if I had a problem of any kind and they were always on everything. And they call me to see if I needed any further help.

They tell me when I close accounts, they lower my credit score.     We were in debt and trying to get out. We were looking for a debt consolidation company, found Cambridge online, and they took over. The service is simple to use, and it was quick and easy to get the service started. We made the call and set up the account with the credit cards that we wanted to get out of debt. Their team told us how much the monthly payment would be. So, we put how much credit we could put on the credit card determining how much we could pay them a month. We kept one credit card out of there because we couldn't afford the monthly payment. And then, every month, we would get an email stating the status. We would still get credit card statements from the company, so we could see if improvements were really happening. I also called twice throughout to see what our balance was and they told us. It was effective and we've learned to not rely on credit cards.

    I needed some help quickly. I had sought an attorney's advice and he said the bottom line is the creditors would make it miserable for me. Being broke for the rest of my life wasn't my plan so my wife and I talked about it. So we'd tighten our belt now and eventually someday we can enjoy the good life. It was not impossible to get out of that financial situation when I have a lot of discipline. So I made a phone call to Cambridge Credit.

    What irritated me was I was getting calls every other day from the same creditor. And they wanted me to pay off figures which I was advised via another friend that I better make sure that when I pay something off I get a receipt because a lot of times they'll just put it on my credit report anyhow. So I knew I needed somebody to take care of this because it wasn't something I wanted to deal with. So Cambridge Credit lowered the interests that they could and made deals with all the creditors.

    I had interactions with their team as to when one bill got paid off, like where would I want the rest put so that I can get the thing anted up. And it was interesting to me to watch how every couple of months that the total I owed went down. I asked a lot of questions and Cambridge Credit gave me a very clear understanding. They told me, for instance, why this was the thing to do and what might happen if I didn't do it. Their team members were very courteous. We have learned that we must live a very frugal lifestyle. We don't want to get back to where we were. Since I have gotten involved with Cambridge, my disability has gotten reversed that it's not warranting me a job which would be really lucrative. If we don't have to spend a dollar, we don't do it.

    The best highlight was that they gave the encouragement to go this way. I had called someone else prior to Cambridge who never mentioned anything about what I call a hidden cost. They said they can cut down on some of the interests and make some go away, and they made it sound as though they're gonna do it for nothing. But at the end of the conversation, they then said that there's a $50 or $100 application fee. And I thought that if I had $50 or $100, I wouldn't be talking to them. On the other hand, Cambridge was forthcoming and said that they'll charge $19 a month or a creditor, which was well worth it.

    Working with Cambridge was most educational and advantageous. I went to a bank to borrow some money not too long ago and I can see that by paying that little bit that we did every month with Cambridge on our credit card bills which eventually got them all paid off, it kept my credit from getting more damaged wherein it would be harder.

    Cambridge Credit Counseling saved me. My bank wouldn't lower their interest rates on me. My payments got too high because I owed almost $10,000 and I couldn't keep up on them. When I got a letter from Cambridge asking me if I want to get rid of my credit cards debt, I called to see what they were about and they told me what they are. They asked me if I needed help and I told them to give me a day to think about it because I was in debt pretty bad. I then decided I'm gonna do it and they got all paperwork done.

    My bill collectors were bugging the crap out of their payments. I told them I'm going to a debt-free company and they weren't happy about it.     I had lost my job and we were struggling with bills and had too much debt. I saw Cambridge Credit and it struck my interest. It was at a really good time for us. When I saw how they could take all of the crappy debt I was struggling to pay every month and be able to put it into one payment that was workable with our income, it was a no-brainer.     We started with Cambridge in 2012 and stuck with the plan and never missed a payment. It was hard at first and we resisted as we got along, but we just took it one month at a time and got through it. It was good and generating more money. We have paid everything now. Before, we had a $5,000 bill and Cambridge was still paying $35, $50 a month on our account, whereas I felt that it could have been paid out with the money that was coming in and been done with it but I know they have a system. But other than that, it went good and our credit was restored. I vowed to never get back into that situation again.

    Whenever I called Cambridge, I wanted to know where I stood as far as balances because they wouldn't tell me. Yes we would get them by paying certain bills and getting our invoice on a monthly basis, but I want to know how close we were to paying something out. I always had to call them back. But it's good that I didn't have any problem with getting back in touch with anybody. They always refer me to the right department.

What happened was these certain companies would not work with me to change the date of my payments to align with my payroll period. Then they would call or charge fees...     I had low interest rates and didn't make any late payments. Overnight, I had a card that went from 6% to 23% with no late fees, and then the bank said that was a change they were making. It took a bunch on my part to keep them on the problem. The credit card company hiked the interest rates back up and they told me that we had a fixed rate for the payoff of the bill. Cambridge got it situated but it took about nine months. Part of that probably wasn't all their fault working with the bank, but it did take a long time to get it done.     I told Cambridge Credit Counseling my problem and they figured out a way to get out of the problem. They were able to lower my interest rates and it got me to be more responsible and really plan things out financially. I experienced a couple of issues near the end, though. When I asked for the balances two times in a row, they gave me the wrong balance. So, when I did subsequent budgeting or doing the final payoff, they had neglected to add in something. I had to go back and supplement their calculations. Except for the inconvenience of it, it didn't cost any additional money on top of what I owed. So it all worked out.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau in the town Cambridge was in and they said that Cambridge had a good rating and no complaints.     I went with Cambridge Credit Counseling because my sister used them and she said they were good. I did it to pay off my credit cards. I had tried to call the credit card companies ahead of time when I saw that there was going to be a problem, but they wouldn't work with me.     My husband's former wife had kidney failure and he wouldn't put her in a nursing home. He took care of her in his house for five years. They have been married happily for 40 years. She died and he was $63,000 in debt. Every single penny was insurance and he had paid his bills. He would have the ambulance come three or four times a week and every time the ambulance came it was $400 to his house and it was only about three miles from the hospital. I have also ben married for 36 years, but we both ended up single and got married.

    We had separate houses. We wanted to get a house together, so he sold his house and we paid every single penny of that 63,000 off. But that was silly because when we got married, I was 59 and he was 67, so then we had to get another house and we started off in the hole. Not realizing that, we sold our houses and moved to North Carolina just to get away. We also ended up selling our house in North Carolina and we took a loss for that because of all the things that happened in 2008.

    My husband and I have never ever been late on a payment. We have always paid our bills within two or three days when we get them. We've never missed a check and had a phone call from a collection agency. I've always had excellent credit. Because we had excellent credit we charged all the bills like coats, belts and Lowe's and the first thing we know, we're 20,000 in debt. We still never missed a bill and we pay $430 a month. We're just having money for the groceries. I said, “We've got to do something. I'm going to see if I can get some help.” I looked in the phonebook in Asheville, North Carolina and the first thing I saw was Consumer Credit Counseling Corporation. I gave them a call and the gentleman I spoke with was very polite. He walked me through everything and said, "It'll be $40." And I said, "Is that per month?" He said, "No, that's a one-time fee."

    He said, "I'm gonna save you," and that with the interest, it would take us 16 to 20 years to pay our debt. But, he said they're gonna get it down with all the interest rates lower and it'll take us four years. That's exactly what he did and the payment of our debt took exactly four years. And what he did saved me a stamp and I have to pay for my checks plus the hassle of doing this every month. They took out $320 a month add to exactly like he said to the day, and it never cost me but a one-time fee of $40.

    My husband also had a double bypass done last year and I got out of the hospital. I had colon cancer, but of course now it's fine. Last month alone I had five medical bills that I paid. I know that Medicare pays 80% but we don't have any supplemental and I can't afford because I'm paying $200 or $300 a month for the medical bills that come in besides that's the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay for, so it's been hard but we still never charged anything. We've never bought anything that we haven't paid cash for. We've never missed anything but I would have not been able to do it without Cambridge. It's just been a wonderful experience. I would definitely, definitely recommend Cambridge to anyone that I knew needed help.

I discussed with them and they told me what I had to do because I had recently made charges on a lot of stuff and some of them had to be four months without making charges on it. I do like Cambridge and it's the second time I went back to them. They were all right. I talked to their guys and sometimes they called me to let me know if I had a statement and let me know all my payments were made and that I was all right.     I was going through a divorce, didn't know much about consolidating loans, went ahead and took on all the debt as part of the divorce. I looked into Cambridge and found out that they already had negotiated the rates with some of the major lenders, so I went forward with that. One of their team members was really good, helpful and patient with me, so everything was always positive.

    The first account was paid off, and that was about 750 bucks a month that got paid off in five, six years versus 30 years. And then the last one should be paid off in the next year, so that's another 250 bucks a month. So that would be nice to have that paid off. The total would be about 1100 bucks a month, and that paid off a lot of debt and freed up a lot of cash for savings. I hardly use any credit card in the last five years.     Cambridge Credit did a great job. I was real happy with the way they handled things. I had several of those credit cards out there when they came out, and it was a bit misleading. If it's a day later, they upped the interest rates so high that I'd never get them paid for. I thought about it and looked at the whole situation, and there was $70,000 worth, which is not real huge, but I let Cambridge handle it and see if they can do me any good. They showed me the program and it sounded great, so I went for it. They did a great job lowering interest rates considerably. Some of them were around 18 to 24% back then, which was outrageous. Cambridge Credit handled everything and sent me a statement every month. It was professionally done.

    I got to be a little aware of what these credit cards can do to me. They can say I'm late with my payment but I'm not. I just mailed it out a little too late for them to get it in time according to them, which I still disputed with a couple of them. They should've gotten it but they said they didn't. It doesn't matter if I'm just a day late, they'll still up my rate from 10% to 18% because of that, which was ridiculous. I can afford to pay them, but it irritated me the way they did it, and I didn't want to mess with all of them. It got all mixed up in the end and I was getting seven or eight different bills every month.

    But Cambridge did everything to get it taken care of. I asked them if they could take this, and then tell me how much they got to take out of my account every month. That's what they said they did on the website, and they did it in the time frame that they said, which was pretty awesome, and good for what they charge. The whole thing only cost me like $2,300. Their service was great and they're a good outfit to do business with.

    I had spoken with my daughter about working with credit counseling. When I looked up Cambridge online, I felt very comfortable with what I had read. The whole experience working with Cambridge was incredible. They helped in having my interest rates lowered, and one of my cards even went down to zero interest rate! It was spectacular. It's been funny also to see which credit card companies were not willing to lower their interest rates, except by a tiny amount. So, I've learned a lot in that regard as well.

    The person I spoke with initially was Greg. We first talked about what I would like to accomplish and I was asked to get together my most current statements on the accounts that I wanted to work through. I got a quick staff response back from Cambridge in setting up the game plan and in what they had managed to work through with all of my creditors. It wasn't intimidating, creepy, nor bad. I felt empowered talking to them in the communications that we had. It was awesome.

    I wish I had started with Cambridge sooner. During the course of things, we lost my mom, which meant we lost income into the household.     I had been advised, with statements coming through on the accounts that we're on the Cambridge counseling, to check them every month to make sure things were being applied. That was fun. For a long time, I kept a lot of paperwork, and then I started feeling secure about how it was going because they know we're good, although I might need the current month. The one thing on my list of tasks for this week is the final clearing out of all the paperwork for all the accounts that are paid in full.

    This experience has made me appreciate some of the little things in life, like now, with the passing of my mom, I have full-time financial accountability for one of my brothers. I can get excited about little things like being able to go out next month and get new underwear, T-shirts, and socks! Not that we're hurting bad nor that it's been like a poverty situation, but it's just looking at things that have been taken for granted a whole lot differently. I still have some accounts that I'm dealing with that they don't want to put through credit counseling, but I'm now on the steps for totally being on the upside of things so that I can get a game plan together to retire! The twinkle for retirement is out there, in trying to make sure that with the financial changes that come with retirement, it will all be above board.

    Without having had an opportunity to link up with Cambridge, I don't know where I would be. I've had one other time in my life, many years ago, where something happened with the business that I was working for. That was so dramatic and sudden that the only choice was to file bankruptcy. It felt really awesome this way through to be responsible. I've got the certificate!

    I know also that the opportunity of working with Cambridge would be there for me if I need an extra boost again. I keep sharing with a lot of people about Cambridge, how wonderful the experience with them has been, and how easy they are to work with. I felt important and didn't feel ashamed or embarrassed.     I was running into debt and a lot of debts with credit card companies. My interest rates were high and I heard that Cambridge can consolidate credit card debts and reduce the interest rate. I thought that was a good idea and the first time I signed up with them, I consolidated two or three cards. I was so proud that I thought of using them again and six months later, sure enough, I signed up with them again and consolidated two more cards and finished paying them off.     I had a monumental loan that I needed to pay off with American Express. By not paying on time, the loan increased more and more every time the payment would roll around.     A friend of mine recommended Cambridge Credit Counseling. They seem to know what they were doing and I like the fact that it was $8 per credit card. So it cost me $24 a month and everything seemed very straightforward. They were able to lower my interest rates significantly. They are great to have. Also, their team was friendly, knowledgeable and checked up on me every once in a while. But the fact that I never missed a payment made it so that they didn't really have to do much with me.

    It took me about five years to pay off the credit card debt. In the very beginning much less stress. Being able to set the date that they were taking my payment out and knowing it was gonna come out of my second paycheck instead of trying to pay through credit cards over the phone at the beginning of the month. However, now that I'm debt-free except for my mortgage, I expected my credit rating to go up a little bit more and looking at a credit card that I wanted. Based on the credit rating that was really low, 622. Discover said it's in 730's and then when I went on at Karma.com it said it's in the 719. So I'm not sure if it had a negative effect on my credit ratings because I went into consolidation. Nevertheless, all in all, it was a very good experience with them.

    We were trying to get a better interest rate and get ourselves on a path by paying back all our debts in a more concise way. Cambridge tried to come up with a better way of managing the debt we had through various credit cards and making one payment as opposed to a fixed one. They had an account manager and did a good job of explaining how the process happened and how to negotiate with the interest rate. Any time there was any change or information they needed, they contacted us directly. They gave us statements every month of what had been paid and to which credit card company. The communication was the best thing about them. They were very forthright and clear about what was going on. The customer service was always really good and very organized. If I had any questions, they were prompt in getting back to me via phone call or email.

    With Cambridge, we have become further aware of the dangers and pitfalls of having credit cards. We're much more careful about how to budget and avoid credit where at all possible. We try to live on a cash-based manner and not to purchase what we can't necessarily afford. We are conscious of the decisions we make financially and the repercussions that can come with that. Sometimes they can be very long range. Overall, it was a very positive and helpful experience.     A lot of credit card companies jacked up my rates some years back when a certain law changed. I hadn't been running late and usually made over my minimum. Cambridge Credit did really good on lowering the interest rates. I was pretty much just spinning my wheels and it came to a point where I wouldn't get anywhere because I had so much going out, but everyone from Cambridge knew what they were talking about and were able to answer any questions I had. It was a good experience and it helped me a lot getting stuff down.     My daughter used Cambridge a long time ago and when my husband had a terrible truck accident on the job, I also went to credit counseling. I went into it even though I was never late on my payments because I knew that I wasn't going to get my husband's paycheck and will get behind on my bills since he was not going to go back to work for at least a year. We lived on our income, he's on social security even if he's not yet 65 and I work four jobs. You think that everything is going to be okay and then this happened so I had to seek assistance. I did what I had to do for my lifestyle to get out of debt and would've lost everything I owned if I didn't go to Cambridge.

    I recommend them to anybody except I tell them about what happened with my credit. I had a 2008 Ford Escape with 84,000 miles on it and my transmission blew up. I did not have $4,000 to buy a car and I did not have a car payment. Knowing that I only had six months more to pay on my Cambridge bill, I had to buy another car. I bought another used car and to me that's devastating. But if I had known that my bills were not going to be paid off in six months, I probably wouldn't have been able to buy a car. But that's the only bad thing about it, that your credit is not good. And I don't know how long it's going to take me to build my credit back up. But I do not and will not accept another credit card for the rest of my life because I don't ever want to be in that position again.

    I called Cambridge's "get out of debt" information that they put out on the web. At the beginning when we first got everything set up, it was very good. Then there were a couple of phone calls and emails back and forth, describing the program and what would happen and what would come next. Months later, we get the statements of how everything was going and where it all was going. It was very informative and any changes that were made, we were able to take care of that too.

    Cambridge had been very eye-opening on just how dangerous the credit cards can be. Credit cards are very good at the beginning but human nature is not to stay on top of it and it can get out of control very quickly. I had some other financial issues come up, and Cambridge worked with me to get the payments lowered a little bit, which helped me out great. They were very flexible, very great to work with. I have 17 credit cards and they were able to lower my interest rates. I now have no credit card debt.

    I was going through a period where I had been sick and my credit card payments were getting behind.     I was trying to get all the debts paid off and my friend told me he had used Cambridge Credit Counseling Corp. and it worked great for him. He recommended I try it in my situation so I did. It was very positive with their team and they were all very helpful. Anytime I needed something, I could call and talk to them. If a couple of times I missed a payment, they'd call me and find out what was going on. It worked out well.     I got divorced and as part of the divorce, I basically took the debt. I kept the house but I had to come to debt with basically just about half the income and when I did the budget, I realized there's just isn't enough money coming out to pay my bills and I didn't wanna declare bankruptcy. I had been listening to Dave Ramsey and had mentioned, "Hey, if you're in a situation, if you find yourself in that situation and you're contemplating bankruptcy, talk to their credit counseling agency." Cambridge was one of them so I contacted them online and got all started and set up.

    I talked to my bank trying to refinance my house and unfortunately, around the time of the divorce there was some credit issues. Between the lack of money, there were some bills that went late and there was some confusion about how they were doing email notifications. My ex-wife actually handled the finances and there were bills that were doing email notifications and I wasn't getting the notification. So I got that straightened out then I live in a situation where I was unable to refinance the house and I couldn't pay the bills and Cambridge was one of the options that became apparent to me.

    I think I was used to hearing people telling me they couldn't help me and it was good that Cambridge told me they could. The only thing I think I would change is that I had several creditors that I had accounts with that I had pretty significant debts and they basically went through and for one reason or another, they would say "We'll just keep paying on this creditor.” So they keep paying on this creditor and they basically helped with the worst which was the highest debts and the highest interest.

    But it would've been easier for me to manage have they just basically said, "We're gonna work with you and we'll get all of your creditors under one bill." Cambridge saved me a little less than $300 a month so although it was helpful, it wasn't like a silver bullet. It didn't solve everything. It made it so that the amount that I was behind was an amount that I could tackle on my own instead of just being completely overwhelmed with it.

    Overall, Cambridge did a really good job. I like getting a monthly statement, but they should also include the balance because I couldn't find it anywhere. I had looked at the Cambridge website but I don't have any idea how to log in so I called them and when I asked how to find the balance with two and a half years in, I was like, "Oh my gosh, I've been paying for two and a half years, I still owe that much?" If I had gotten regular statements, it might have been less of a shock.

    I had no money left so I went with Cambridge Credit Counseling. They took care of a lot of things for me. The team at Cambridge counseled me on everything that I should and shouldn't do, and gave me advice about saving money in a bank account. Since working with them, I've learned not to get myself in tight situations, to know how to say no, to know what I need and don't need, and to know what's available with my source of income.

    I took their advice and I've been able to save money. I've been able to get different things I wanted before.     Having my debt consolidated because of the economy and me losing my position was the best thing to do at the time that I got with Cambridge. Every time I spoke to them, I got the help I needed. There were a couple of times where I could not make my payment. I called and was able to put the payment off for another week or a month. They told me my creditors have the right to back out of the plan if I did that but nobody ever did. That's a benefit that sometimes people need to know - they have that flexibility because once could run into a jam sometimes. The only thing would be I expected them to be available on a Saturday but that never worked out because they're not open. It is usually confidential when I talk to them and I have to work the same hours as they're working. Five years later, I'm free of those debts and was able to obtain a car with the money that I freed up from paying off all that debt. I'd recommend Cambridge to a friend.

    I tried to seek assistance from the bank to consolidate my bills before contacting Cambridge. And when I'm finally with Cambridge, I was hesitant when I first started the program. I called panicking and they were trying to calm me down. And ever since that one occurrence, they have been smooth sailing. They were all godsend. Without their help, I would still be swimming in debts, trying to pay it off and never reaching the bottom.     I loved working with Cambridge! I first heard about them through one of those counseling wellness programs that I have through work. I started the program through BNY Mellon when I worked there. Unfortunately, I got laid off after, and I started working with JLL. I was going through financial hardship and wanted help both for my dog and cat. It sounds funny, but it added up along with my moving expenses all at once and I had to use my credit card. Bills got out of hand and I just didn't make enough money. I needed help. I reached out and they helped me a great deal. I had a GAP Visa credit card and it was on 30%. Also, my CareCredit was also really high because that was when I also used it to take care of my dog. I must have saved at least half and got a chance to pay it off early, which was even better to save myself even more interest.

    With Cambridge, I've learned to live on cash for the last four years, which was very hard. It changed my thinking about money and budgeting myself in a different way, instead of relying on credit cards. All those years not taking out credit has just taught me to live off my own means which makes me feel a lot better because if I can't afford something, I don't buy it. Now that I'm paid off, there has been temptation to open up credit cards but I've worked so hard to pay off such a huge debt, I don't want to get in debt again.
