I was loaded down with credit card debt so I called Better Bureau to ask about a debt consolidation company that had written a letter to me. They said the company was not reputable so I asked if they knew anyone. However, they refused to give me any because they're not allowed to. Instead, they told me that I can call out a name and they’ll tell me if the company is reputable or not. I did that and they said that Cambridge is a good, reputable company so I called them.
Cambridge collected all of my credit cards together and told me how much I owed. I didn’t realize I owed that much until they told me. So, they put them together for me, contacted the companies and had my interest rates cut down. They called me and kept up with me about my bills and asked me would I keep it up with them. All of my bills came to my house and I would look at them and see what was going on with them. They were superior and a good company to deal with. I recommend them all the time to friends. And for anybody that's drowning in debt, Cambridge Credit Counseling will be the best place to go to.
Bettye, congratulations on completing our program! It's not uncommon for people to have debts that they have forgotten about, or ignored hoping that they will go away. Great job facing these debts head on! Thank you very much for recommending us to your friends, we appreciate your kind words.

I had a lot of credit card debt and a friend recommended Cambridge. I talked to them a couple of times but we mostly communicated by email. They got me on a program though the payment plan was a little tough at first. It was a lot but I toughed it out for five years to get everything paid off. They also gave me some tips on how to budget money and it worked out pretty good. I’m completed with it now and it was worth it. It got me through the debt and helped me. It was a good experience and I would recommend to somebody else too.

I have always had a lot of debt because I didn’t manage my money right. I am a lawyer and was paid at $50,000 for five years when I first started. I was not making much in living in the Bay Area. I had student loans and also wanted to take some trips so I had to use credit cards sometimes which grew over time. Then I started realizing that I wasn’t making headway. I had a financial planner who recommended me Cambridge. I called them and we negotiated. The fees were worth it because if I have to do it myself, I would have probably ended up paying much more in interest. They were really responsive and their updates were helpful. They were very proactive and if I called, I got to talk to someone immediately.
It was a four-year program which went by pretty quickly. And to be on a plan and pay this monthly thing was the best thing for me to get out of the debt. Now, I paid off $50,000. I would definitely use them again. I’m trying now to manage my own debt and I don’t want to close credit cards anymore. I even decided to add a few credit cards on the program and it was good. They were efficient and effective, and I had a great experience with them. I’m glad I did the program.

My credit was bothering me because I could not take care of it and my daughter recommended Cambridge. Then I called in and spoke to someone and they explained how it worked. And so, I just jumped on board and got things kicked off. When I spoke to them, I liked what they recommended. They helped me with debt consolidation and I completed the program in three years. It was a great help to me. They had very nice people.
The counselor explained and set up my payment arrangement and how much I needed to pay each month until I got it paid out. She gave me the number to call and told me to call their number if I had any questions or any concerns pertaining my bill. Everything worked very nicely and I felt very comfortable. Cambridge helped me understand that you should not overload yourself and that things happen, and it's not your fault that things happened that set you back. They’re the best. They are pleasant to work with and very understanding. They'd explain everything to you and they don't leave you out on the rails trying to figure out what's going on. It was an excellent experience.

I had a credit card that I wasn’t able to pay off. The interest was too much, so I went to Cambridge to consolidate the debt, which they did and gave me a payment that I could afford to do every month. They set up a payment plan and charged me a minimal fee to take care of it. It made me able to pay off the bill, otherwise, I would probably still be paying on it for the rest of my life. It took me about three and a half years, but I finally paid it off. It was a great experience. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. They’re doing everything well and I have no problem referring anyone else to them.
Congratulations on completing our program, Iris! High interest rates can make it very difficult for consumers to pay off their debts while they're making the minimum payments on their credit cards. Many of our clients share your concern! Thank you very much for your kind words and good luck going forwards!

I had credit card debt and Cambridge Credit Counseling was the only place where it didn't matter how long I had a debt. I enrolled over the phone and if I had to sign anything, they sent it to me and I faxed it back. They took everything and consolidated it down into one bill a month. They based my payment plan off my income and made a monthly withdrawal. I paid $275 a month and only $25 went to Cambridge Credit Counseling. I paid my bills off but I ended up skipping payments when I didn't have enough money. The program took longer but it brought my credit up. Cambridge Credit Counseling did what I needed them to do and it was a good experience .

When I first started the debt consolidation program, I didn't want a third party to handle my debt because I heard it affects your credit more. However, it's the only thing that I could do at that point because I was in disagreement with my spouse and he was the breadwinner and he went with Cambridge. However, I'm now divorced. After a year, communication was just off and can't get on the same page. When you're not on the same page it's hard in the household to collapse in some of those issues with the financial situation and marriages in my opinion.
My goal is to continue with the program and get out. I still have a little bit of a cycle in it and I am working on it to get out of debt. It's probably a third of what it was. All is well and I kept calling to see where I was at, to make sure what I could do to get out quicker. I'm looking at purchasing a home. But my budget is still not great and it's still affecting my credit. I didn't really like the fact that someone else pays the bills for me because I felt like I could do that.
Cambridge's phone system was a little bit spooky and it could be made a little bit user-friendly. I know their hours. They're on the East Coast and every time I want to call them they're closed. They could shift or just have a two-hour layover coverage of someone or just a go-to phone service. People are looking for convenience. The easier they make it for people, the more people would come and work with them. On the plus side, the service was excellent. Everybody at Cambridge was always so polite. They're responsive too. I also liked that the program was flexible. If it really wasn't working for you, you could change it. I did it around three times through the worst transition so it extended me in the program. I backed off from it a little bit or lowered it, or I paid off one and they use the funds to pay on another. It's really good that they do that.

I discovered that my brother has become disabled from heavy drinking in the early fall of 2014. I then wrapped up my work in Albany to come live with him and take care of his affairs and get him some medical assistance. I started going through his papers I noticed that there were credit card bills coming from 12 accounts and he had only been paying the minimums. My younger sister, who at some point also had a large debt with credit cards, told me about Cambridge after hearing them from someone else. She helped us set up. We then made the call and we talked to a guy and that's how we started. Cambridge was great. I could call them. They would also email me just every so often with a little notice about where we were if I wanted to look at it. The people we talked to were very clear about what would happen and how long it would take. The cost was also negligible and I never felt that they were gouging us for their services. It was only 50 bucks a month.

I remember calling Cambridge and they asked why I needed their services. I told them all my credit cards are maxed out. I got all my credit cards on my wallet, wrote down my credit card numbers, showed them the balances and finally got me signed up. It was pretty easy and they got me to a manageable monthly payment. Every time I called, they've always been super helpful. I've called them to update balances and I wanted them to take an extra payment out if I got a bonus. They've always been great. The only complaint that I have is that when I went to pay off the balance, I wasn't able to pay it off. They said that it wasn't a possibility, and it was super annoying. My husband was really irritated. I wasn't able to make a payment for more than the regular withdrawal that I had to withdraw another month.
I think that it should change because if somebody is ready to be done with the program because of working overtime, it should be an option, especially someone like me who is in the program for five years and has never missed a payment. When you're towards the end of the program, that should be an option. With the money in the account right now I just want to pay it off and be done because we were moving. I just moved across the United States and I was a little annoyed. But the Counselor was nice about it. I just was annoyed at her response so to speak.
They sent me an email statement every month which I really appreciated because I could check it on my own time. I really like it because I'm super busy and I think it was good. They called me every once in a while to get an update. Now I’m done and I have completed it. I would totally tell others to do it. No hassle, no trickery, and no hidden fees. It was exactly what they said the cost was. And currently my credit is amazing

I had a very good experience with Cambridge Credit Counseling. They are very helpful and understanding. I had little money taken out every month and by the end, I’m completely free of all debt. My daughters and I split all the debt that had been left over after I sold my house to them and we divided any remaining tax liabilities. I did this to encourage them to do the same thing. My daughters ended up clearing all their debt and everything else so it turned out to be a very positive experience both for myself and for my daughters. They saw an example of another way to handle things if they get themselves into really bad debt again.
I object paying interest because I’m Jewish and we don't believe in usury. There were a couple of other bills that I decided to pay off in full so that when I move to the senior housing, I wouldn't have a huge debt and liability. I could never get ahead with Target because I was eaten up by the amounts that they kept saying I owe them. I realized I was never going to get clear of the Target bill and that convinced me to go ahead and try finding enough for profit.
I had to give Cambridge Credit Counseling all my financial information and they certainly improved my situation. My interactions with Cambridge counselors were always good. They gave excellent service and they always call me back if I had questions. They were always on top and I could call and find out where I stood. I would get monthly statements on the computer so I would know how close I was at all times. I moved in the senior housing in August and the debt repayment plan ended in September. I was able to move in good shape and I feel more comfortable knowing that I don't owe anybody any amount of money anymore.

We haven’t been anywhere so I wanted to straighten out our stuff to allow us to still pay our bills. Cambridge was a local company and I heard good things about them and so we got them. Our counselor, John, was great and the team was awesome. They helped us with figuring out what we’re going to spend and what we can’t, and all that good stuff. Cambridge stayed on top of everything and kept us in tune as to when we’re paying our bills and when they’re taking the money out of our accounts. They’re amazing and they care about me and I’m very satisfied. We’re all done with the program and we’re in a better shape now. I’d recommend them to anybody.

All my credit cards were backed up and I owed a whole lot of money. I couldn't pay my debts so I needed to consolidate. I went bankrupt when I was younger so I didn't want to go that way again. Cambridge Credit’s rep said he would take care everything. When the creditors called me, they referred to him. Eventually, he worked out a deal with everybody and I started paying monthly.
I collected more help trying to rebuild my credit because my credit is bad even though I paid off all my bills. I don't know if the money was distributed right because one of the creditors kept calling me and saying that they know they made a deal with Cambridge but that it wasn't sufficient. And at the end, some of the other credit cards were completely paid and that money should have increased on the other payments. I don't know if that was happening. But besides that, I was really happy with Cambridge in getting rid of all my debts.
I pay a credit card and I get a notice that a credit card is paid off by Cambridge. My suggestion is that Cambridge should automatically shift the amount of money that's going to the other agencies. I didn't see that. And it should be where when we get the statement, it should let the customer know this amount of money been added to so-and-so bill. So that way, I know that that's being done. I'm not sure if that's being done. Cambridge might put all of that money on one big bill. I'm sure that would be fine with the customer because he knows his money is not going to somebody’s pocket. It's going directly for his bills.

Cambridge helped me pay off my debt through their credit counseling program. I’m already finished and I paid off my debt two months ago. Aside from the initial signup where they discussed my options, the benefits of doing credit counseling, and showing with credit counseling how quickly I can pay off my debt versus paying off the minimum alone independently and the years it'll take to pay off my debt, there was nothing to interact for. After that, the payment was automatically withdrawn so there were no issues. It took me about four years but very quickly, I was able to pay off my debt and it saved me a lot of money as well in the long run. It was a very pleasant experience and if I had questions on a balance for a particular credit card, the operator was able to provide an answer right away. If I know someone with a credit problem, I always refer them to Cambridge.

My job situation had changed and I was having a hard time making ends meet. I knew somebody that had used Cambridge and he highly recommended them. I also saw them on one of our local community television shows so I decided to give them a call. They offered to contact my creditors and let them know that they were in charge. Then, they paid my bills every month for me. Their counselors were very polite. If I called and couldn't get through, they were very prompt to return. They answered any questions that I had.
Cambridge made my life a lot easier because they took over. When a creditor calls, I just say to him to call Cambridge Credit and that they were managing my bills. I got my bills paid off a lot faster because when they took over, the creditors can't charge interest. It was a three year period and I finished in June. I was very pleased with Cambridge and I don't plan on going back into debt. But if I ever did, I certainly would contact them again. They were very professional and very good at what they did.

I had a lot of credit card debts that I wanted to clean up. I wanted to see if Cambridge can assist me in doing that and when I spoke with them, they had a plan on how we would get the credit card bill lowered for me, like the monthly payments, a timeframe and how I would be able to pay them off. If I had any questions, I could call and get answered very quickly. They would reach out to me every so often to check on my progress and see how I was doing so they were really good.
What they do is negotiate with the creditor so you get the benefit of a lower interest rate that’s more manageable for you to pay. The card would also be turned off. You can't use it anymore but then you don’t stay down on the balance and the payments go further towards the principal. It's great for people who are struggling to pay off some debts, especially because with these credit cards, the interest payments get so high. It almost makes them impossible to pay off and instead of not honoring the obligation, it's better to go with a company like Cambridge to guide you through it. You can do as many as you need too.
I was sending them one payment each month which was automatically drafted on the same day with the same amount and then they would take that payment and distribute it to three different cards that I had. Those cards were paid off over time and I was happy when I made that last and final payment. I'm so pleased with Cambridge that I was actually going to contact them again to see if they can work with me through another cycle of bill payments 'cause I still have some balances that I wanted under control.

Cambridge Credit Counseling offered me what I needed to get control of my credit card debts, and within a relatively short period of time. They provided me with credit counseling as well as setting me up for the plans where things were taken care of in a manner that I could agree to. They took money out of my bank account automatically, so I didn’t have to worry about it. Since having Cambridge's services, I've learned that paying cash is the way to go. I don’t need all those credit cards and I don’t plan to open up a bunch of credit cards in the future. I couldn’t handle my payments. I knew that Cambridge could consolidate them into one main payment and I thought that was the best idea. Also, my husband was already a member and had consolidated his credit as well. I then called Cambridge, explained the situation and they took all of my credit card information, numbers and everything that I needed. They asked me what a good time length was. They told me that they would get back to me and let me know the amounts and if I was comfortable with it and they did. I got a monthly statement from them, giving me heads up on where I was at.
One or two cards got closed because I paid it off and they alerted me for that. Once cards were paid off, I had the choice of putting more towards another card. I, at that time, couldn’t do that because of other financial responsibilities so they just made it the bare minimum. They were very professional, they walked me through things. When I had questions, they called. They made adjustments when I needed. Their service was great and they did a good job. I got everything I needed to be taken care of and I have no credit card debt anymore.

I had one credit card and I needed help reducing the rate. I liked the online reviews that I read about Cambridge and the enrollment process itself was a piece of cake. The person who helped me was awesome. But after that experience, it went downhill from there on. They had told me that they would renegotiate the rate and then, in the end, they weren't able to. It remained at 9.99% which was what it was at when I started. I was unhappy with how they negotiated because I didn't feel that they had fully advocated on my behalf. At that point, I was stuck so that was why I continued and finished the payments. They told me they were going to pick out the first payment automatically from my account, which they did on the date that they said they would. But it wasn't the date that the credit card company wanted it and so it was late and I was charged with late fees. Cambridge fixed it after two months.
They weren't very professional and every time I called, it’s like I was bothering them by calling them. They were brusque, not welcoming, and not helpful. They'd send monthly updates on how much I paid already and how much I still owe but they sent me twice updates that belong to somebody else so I had their personal information. There's the creditor, their address, the account number and how much they owe. On one of those, I responded and forwarded it back to Cambridge and told them. I got a response saying, "Oh, nothing personal was identified. So, please just disregard it." I would never use Cambridge again and I wouldn't recommend them.

During the enrollment process, I was horrified but they made it very, very easy for me to submit all my information and they were very nice. I had never dealt with anything like this before so overall, they were just very kind, very understanding and I had a very positive experience with it.
At the beginning, the counselor would just follow up and check in. I didn’t really speak live to anybody and I communicated with them mostly through email. There was a monthly fee involved and I thought that was very fair. They made me feel comfortable and I think that the goal of companies like that is to try and help people and get them back on the right track and they did. I was a wreck and couldn’t even answer my phone, but Cambridge took the pressure off of me. They got the high-interest charges dropped down and helped me get away from some of these high-interest charges. I got all my bills and balances together. However, their rep told me that it would be a year and a half before my credit would be paid off, but it took another year so I was disappointed. But at least they got it done. Also, there was another lady before I went with Cambridge. She emailed me some forms and when I read the fine print, it said that there would be an initial payment of $495 before they start and it would go straight to them. So, I decided not to do that. When I went with Cambridge, they said their part would be $35 out of the $235 that I pay them every month, which I was fine with.
At one point, I also got my bills together and what I had paid and I had different balances than they had. Cambridge said it was probably from interest before they actually got into the processing and something more was added onto it. Other than that, it was all good. I even went to the Better Business Bureau before I went with them and they had high ratings so I felt safe. I would go to them again and I would recommend them to a friend. Overall, I was happy with Cambridge.

I had too many bills, and I was paying it. But it didn't seem like it was getting any better because of finance charges. Cambridge told me about how they could help through consolidation of all my bills and that's what I did. I worked with them and they set up a payment for me. We went through the process of our bills paid. They called me, but it's just because I'm working a straight 8:00 to 4:00 shift. It's supposed to be 8:00 to 4:00, but I have a lot of times that I'm at work.
By the time I come back to call back they're off and I put in a lot of time. It's my only reason for not calling back or if I did call, they were out and I just left a message. Playing phone tag it's almost like. But I've talked to them about two or three times. They told me that if I needed some assistance to make sure that I called. But I didn't need it so I didn't call back. I know towards the end that the fee for it wasn't consistent. It got lower. But, then, some months it was a little higher. That was the only thing that bothered me but it wasn't too much. It was okay, so I didn't complain about it.
Cambridge helped me pay off those bills and we've finished our last payment two months ago. I wasn't comfortable that I wasn't able to get them paying. They make the agreements and then I just wait until the agreement happens. Then, everything takes its course. They closed those accounts after I got done, which was okay to me because that was the type of thing I wanted to get back to. They're very effective and they tell you about what happens, so you're not surprised. Especially them contacting my lenders or the credit card companies.

I had a lot of medical bills and got behind with the payments when was in the hospital and had a heart attack. I looked around for counseling services and talked to one company and I didn’t like the way they talked. I happened to see Cambridge on an advertisement and called the number. I talked to them and gave them the information and their rep called me back within a couple of days. The other people I talked to said they would call me back in a day or so, but it took them almost two weeks. I got all my information together to Cambridge and got on the plan even before the other people called me back. And when they called, I didn’t want to ask them and I already got somebody to take care of it.
Cambridge offered me counseling and things that I could do online to help me further my savings, but I just called once or twice to inquire with them and we went after I got all my information from them. It was just making the payments and they had it where I could save some money. Also, their fees were only $20 a month to handle eight to ten accounts for me. You could not beat that. They deducted it every month out of my checking account. The credit counselors were great as well. They sat down and put everything in plain English where I could understand it and they made it easy. I knew what I needed right then and I wouldn’t just search everywhere because they told me what I needed.
Overall, they were great people to work with. Every time I called, I was put on hold five times in four years because they handled my situation right then. We're both 70 and Cambridge helped us a lot. We were even able to buy a house and got our credit straightened back out. Everything worked out great and it was a good experience. I really enjoyed it. I had recommended them and would recommend them again.

It took a while but I was able to pay off all my credit cards. They worked with me and alerted me and they sent me a certificate for having completed their program. Also, there were times when I had to call and everybody was friendly. When I enrolled, I spoke with the manager who was very helpful. My counselor was very amiable and we had a very productive interaction. It felt like I was sitting at my kitchen table. Overall, Cambridge served and helped me and I'm very pleased with them. I highly recommend them.

I had too many credit cards so I sought the help of Cambridge Credit. Everything went smooth with them. They took out everything and in three years I was done so I would recommend them to anybody consolidating all their debt together and paying monthly till they get rid of it. The process was kind of hard at first. I was thinking how come they're taking the amount that they were taking out when it was less than the amount I was paying for out of courts? Because I was thinking like other people file bankruptcy and they'll have to pay the courts. But then I was surprised my credit score still stayed good. It actually went up after I performed it so it was a win-win situation. I wouldn't do the bankruptcy. Like my sister and my brother did bankruptcy and their credit went to the dogs.
I've completed the program with Cambridge in August of 2017. Once they finished Macy's they took that money and started applying it to another one until they paid all of them off. Their rep called me and let me know I was going to make my last payment. They have good customer service. Cambridge gave me the relief of knowing all that debt was paid off and then the relief of knowing I had that extra little money that I was paying them every month to do something else or save.

Cambridge Credit Counseling is the best and I'm 100% satisfied with what they did for me. It was worth it to deal with them. I had a lot of overdue payments, credit cards and student loans, and I decided to consolidate and pay off my debts. I called Cambridge Credit Counseling and they helped me. They were very efficient, gave me good ideas, gave me records of every time they did a payment and called me to find out how it was and let me know when the payments were coming to a close. They sent me letters too. They try to let me know where I was with the payment. Last month was my last payment and I'm done with them. They called me and let me know. It was good and I was glad to finally come to an end.
Their counselors were also very efficient, smart and they knew what they were doing. They gave me a lot of choices. At first, I wasn't working so we were going through doing the payments through my mom's account. They sent me papers that I had to get copies of and they helped me step-by-step to clean up and do whatever I had to do. They were very nice to me, very patient in calling back when they're supposed to and very diligent in their job. In-between the deal I called them to find out if I could pay more than I was paying the monthly to cut the months in half. They told me how much I would have to pay. They called me back to find out if I was still interested in cutting the payment. I told them no and I kept it the way it was because it was going well. So I left it at that and paid it off. I was very happy with Cambridge and I was glad that I chose them.

I was seeking someone to help me pay off my bills so I went through Cambridge Credit Counseling’s four-year program and completed it. It let me know what I have to do to keep myself together and not to get back in debt. The payment plan worked to my advantage which I can afford without putting myself in a string and I really like that. I also understood the cost for the program and that was no problem for me. The counselors were nice and very helpful. Once they explained the program to me, I was happy. I would tell others they would need to call them and talk to them and let them explain how the plan worked and see if they were satisfied with it.

We were trying to buy a house and while we were putting away every cent that we could, we maxed our credit card. Then we came up with the 30 some thousand that we needed to buy our house. We couldn’t seem to get off from underneath the credit card. By that time, we were just swamped and it was getting harder and harder to make the payments every month. It went like that for three years and did not getting any better. Then someone recommended Cambridge to us and we went well from there. They gave us the information that we needed. We exchanged emails for several days, we signed some papers and everything was up and going. It was just real simple and quick. They did an automatic withdrawal once a month and they paid all the bills. The interest rates were lowered so much that the $35 that we pay in a month for them to handle the account was certainly not an issue.
They did everything that they told us that they would do. They made it seamless and easy for us and paid everything off. We’re free and clear now. There was also one month that I had a client’s check bound from me and I didn’t have the money in there the day that the electronic funds transfer was supposed to go through. But I had cleared the next day and they understood. I didn’t have to spend an hour apologizing to somebody. I hope I don’t have to use them again but they certainly took care of everything for me. I’ve already recommended two people to Cambridge. They were having problems and I told them about Cambridge. They got it set up and are probably halfway through the program right now. I’ll continue to recommend their service to people who get caught up like we did.

I was going through a divorce and I had a lot of credit cards that I used that were not going to be a part of the settlement. My dad referred Cambridge and I got in a debt consolidated program in 2014. I was very comfortable working with Cambridge and I was able to make a settlement with the creditors and reduce the amount of interest paid on the credit cards that were originally owed. There were very reasonable payment plans too. I had five or six credit cards that they were going to work between $5,000 and lower, so they did pretty good for me. There was no fee over $15,000 either and in fact, all the rest of the payment had gone to the creditor. The $15,000 was posted so it was a free service that was offered.
They were also friendly and did a great job at keeping me on the task and helping me complete it from the time I started to the time I finished. They kept me updated on what was paid and on the balance of the accounts. I've completed the program now, but one of my creditors is saying that they have not received all their payments. I had been keeping up with the balances and according to the balance sheet, there should be enough once the payment goes in. Now I'm trying to research to see if they can dig out what happened and Cambridge has sent me all the statements that were sent to that creditor. Overall though, it was a great experience and I've recommended Cambridge Credit Counseling several times already in the past. I would refer them again and I would tell others not to be afraid.

I had too much debt and I contacted Cambridge Counseling and forwarded them any outstanding bills that I had. They set up a payment and said they were going to contact my creditors to either wipe out or reduce my finance charges. They also walked me through the process and said, "It's going to be this much money per month for us to be involved with this and this is how much you have to pay per month in total." They sent me bills every month and the money was automatically deducted from my checking account and I just kept track of what they did each month, so it's pretty simple. I also kept track of my bills on a spreadsheet and if I had a bill that was low enough, I just paid it off myself then put the money towards one bill to another.
I even had the same counselor and I talked to their reps a lot. They were all very pleasant and helpful and they did very well. November should have been my four years and I was paid off with them in July. It's nice to debt-free and it feels good to be able to go grocery shopping as much as I want to, versus having only one week and then I can't go grocery shopping and I think about how I’m going to put food on my table. So, Cambridge Counseling really helped me a lot. I would definitely recommend anybody to them. My credit score has increased considerably and I'm glad that I went their way. It was a great experience.

They cut the interest rate and it worked perfectly.
They asked me what I wanted my payment to be and we came up with a good number that I could afford. The rep told me it was supposedly going to count to be $2,500 a month. I was said that was nothing and it came right into my checking account. Every month, it was just easy. Every time I got those statements from the credit card company it was cool. And the best part was it brought my credit up at least a hundred points, maybe more. Paying off my bills and bringing my credit score up is priceless. It was worth three times the money. Cambridge got me out of the debt I had which was over $20,000. It made me feel so good when I got those bills and saw those balances going down. I got over-debt. I was paying the minimum or paying $100 on each credit card and I wasn't catching up. I was also making bad decisions with credit cards. I heard about Cambridge Credit Counseling through another friend. I called and told them what was going on. They asked me what I'm spending my money on and I told them. I also gave them my information, they ran it through, and then took care of it. I only talked to their rep once, then we communicated through email.
They called all the credit cards that I've got myself in debt with and got them to quit charging the interest. They paid so much each month on each card, which was cheaper than what I was paying myself costing $500 a month. They came up with a plan that would work for me and I could live with. They also suggested an amount that I could do. Whenever they pay off a credit card, I could either default on my payment or I could keep it the same and then pay them more so it would go up and get rid of the debt quicker. I said “no, I can deal with $232, do that until it's done” and they did. Within one year, they got the debt paid off and I'm debt-free now. They were great and I couldn't have a better report for them. I’ve also saved more because we're trying to do another plan as well where I'm trying to have that emergency money. I'm not there yet but I'm getting there. I’ve already recommended Cambridge Credit to three friends.

We're in some credit card debt trouble and I heard about Cambridge Credit ad and I thought I'd give them a shot. They were our only choice and we contacted them and discussed the program. I really didn't think there was a need to go anywhere else because their program was exactly what we needed. First and foremost, they consolidated that debt and made an easy payment plan for us. They gave us a proposed payment that we agreed upon that we could cover each month and set it up for a five year pay off. We did a direct bill to pull it directly out of our checking account on a pre-determined day every month and it was very, very easy.
They did a little bit of credit counseling on how to save and budget. The counselor completely understood our situation and knew what we were going through. We were feeling a little overwhelmed and he had some reassurance that they were going to take care of us. We were impressed by his willingness to help. We completed the program about two months ago and my wife and I looked at each other and said, "Boy that was one of the best things we ever did". We’re very thankful. I could not think of anything to make it better since the program went so smoothly and exactly the way they said it was going to happen. We are looking at finances and money in a different way. We think twice about creating another payment in our budget and it's better off to save a few months and get it than put it on credit. They’ve opened our eyes on how to spend money and budget it. It was worth every penny and I would recommend them 100%.
Benjamin, it is completely understandable that beginning this process was overwhelming. We're very glad that you were able to push through that and follow through with our program. We just completed their program and we paid off $25,000 in credit card debt. We were paying $530 a month that was automatically withdrawn. To pay off a large amount of debt in a set period of time gave us money to stand every month and save for use in other areas. Their service was worth the money.

On a monthly basis, they sent me a letter announcing what they had paid, how much I owed and how much it cost me for them. Customer support was great.
I sent them a certain amount of money on a monthly basis and they paid the bills for me. They brought down the interest rates on those bills in some cases to almost nothing. So over a five-year period, I just finished paying all that off. Also during that time, I had some surgeries, and I had lots of money that I didn’t account for having to pay back. I read up on what needed to be done prior to going into this and I wanted to get out of debt, so I needed to be prepared. I had already gotten my balances and everything I needed. I was throwing them out to the lady I talked to as fast as she needed it and she was even surprised that I had all that stuff. They needed the name of the credit card, the balance, the interest and when my due date was. We had everything done within two to three days. I was kept up to date with stuff through emails.
I chose when my payment would be coming out and I needed to change my due date around that to make sure that all the creditors got it. The only other thing I had to do was keep them up to date with balances when they called or emailed me. Every now and then, I would call to ask a question but I would get a different rep and they were all very nice. Cambridge has fantastic people and excellent customer service and they're worth so much more than what their portion was. Working with Cambridge has made me a little more conscious now. I called their number and then an advisor contacted me and sent me some forms to fill out with a projected budget and an estimate of all my outstanding credit cards and the amount. Also, I feel very comfortable working with the counselor. Then they came back with a plan or proposal on how to pay it monthly and what our family budget needed to make it work as far as the monthly payment goes. Then we signed it and we entered into the agreement, and we have completed the program.
The process was very easy and I could call them if we wanted to modify the monthly payment because I've paid off several cards and they were very responsive. Also, it was on an automatic payment and they were able to modify the automatic draft. They charged me $15 a month, which was very fair for the number of credit cards that they were paying. We have a much different view of credit now than we did three or four years ago when we started this process. Cambridge was very good on educating us on a wiser use of credit. Now, we only use a credit on an exception basis rather than the norm.

I was with them for a number of years and my debt went down. Because I'm 59.5, I was able to withdraw from my retirement without penalty and then I paid the rest off with that. But I stuck to it. The payments automatically came out of my accounts. But I would have liked to see how much I owe at a glance and have easier access to that. That wasn’t the only debt I owed because I paid off a lot but I'm not going to get in big debt again. I managed things better and I feel relieved because that’s a lot of stress when you're in debt. I had a couple of circumstances where I used my credit card to fund some stuff that was going on personally. And then I found myself in a scenario where the credit card interest rates were very high and that I was paying a lot of money every month, but I wasn’t paying down my debt. I knew about Cambridge Credit Counseling Corp. on the radio. I had a good experience working with their reps. The process was quick, but the reps also took their time. They were always there for me when I needed support, but they were never overbearing.
The quality of their service was good as well. However, I later realized that what I had done cost me more instead of saving on interest. I tried to figure out some avenues where I could save on interest. In doing so, I opened a few other credit cards and transferred $0 balance. Then, I transferred those over to Cambridge once the grace period was up. Cambridge charged a certain amount for every creditor you put on there, so that ended up costing me more money versus if I just transferred everything over from one or two credit cards. Also Cambridge was helpful to me when I was trying to pay down the debts, and was certainly a great avenue to be able to do that. I paid everything off early and I am finished with the program. I would recommend Cambridge to friends if they are going through a similar experience.

I had used Cambridge the first time because of what we’ve seen and heard years ago on Oprah Winfrey. Then I went with them the second time for counselling. I got their call and they set up with us. We sat down with them and gave all our credit card information like exactly what credit card we have and the balance that we believe we have on it. They take out their phone and then they called me back and said how much one was and go back to to tell us our balance. They said, “Okay. It’s going to be X amount of dollars. This is what you’re paying to us for your bill." And then it’s a $50 fee for one extra every month to take care of it. They worked with the creditors to stop all our late fees that I had prior to contact. I send some money every month and they pay my bills.
I had talked to several different people and they were knowledgeable. They didn’t criticize because I was behind. They were there to help and do whatever they could do for me. They also have good customer support because anytime there’s a problem or if the person that I got was not able to help, then there’s somebody that calls me back within 24 hours to help.
Cambridge has affected my life for the best because they transformed everything. They helped to get my credit back on top where it needed to be. Everybody should try to do it. They’re very great people to work with. And the people care about you. We recommend them to help anybody. I am very grateful to them for everything that they did for us.That was a big relief for me.

I had too many creditors, so I reached out to Cambridge. They have non-profit status and primarily, they're a consumer advocate. The biggest appeal wasn't so much for them about getting a new account or a new customer as much as that was the service itself. I've read through a number of similar services and a lot of them seemed like some sort of scheme, but Cambridge's focus on service was excellent and not feeling that we were just a source of revenue was the main thing there. I had a lot of trust in them. We're completely paid out and there's a lot more financial freedom in having some significant debt paid off, which is really helpful. The cost of the program was excellent and all things considered, the negotiation they had in terms of reducing some interest rates more than paid for itself. Cambridge would be my first choice for consolidation or even counseling.

We had been in a car accident. The car's been totaled, but we still owed for the car itself. Our creditors were really getting aggressive and the only way we could figure to get from under everything was to seek counseling. Cambridge Credit took up our loans and set up a payment claim. The money was automatically deducted from our account and went straight to the creditors. We never saw the money and there was no temptations. Also, our counselor was very patient, friendly and non-judgmental. The whole process was wonderful and we'd tell others to go for it. We got over the hump and have more hope now that we are done with the program. We’re also looking at purchasing a new house, so things are much better.

I had three credit cards that I was wanting to pay off and I looked at the interest rate. I wasn't getting anywhere and I had a friend that used Cambridge Credit before who referred me to them. I told them what my credit card debt people were and they said that they would evaluate everything, contact the creditors, deal with them as far as the interest rates, take them lower, get back to me and have a plan of action. They did all that and after they came back, they told me what I would be looking at. I had to pay an initial fee to start it, paid the monthly payment for close to two years and then, a few months ago, I paid it completely off.
I liked that they worked well with me. If I had any questions, it wasn't a problem for them to answer it or find out the answer. They're also very friendly and easy to work with. It was a little rocky at first because I was still getting notifications from the creditors but it worked out. Cambridge helped me get a better grip on my debt because I have all the medical issues which started everything. The credit cards kept me afloat while I was going through medical stuff and they helped me with getting the interest rates lowered and making progress in getting it paid off. I was pretty satisfied with the whole thing the whole time I dealt with them and I even referred my parents because they were having a lot of problems.

I was upside down in my credit rating and I wanted to get back on track. I also wanted to start a business, so I needed to get my credit up. Cambridge was the first one that got referred to me. Their service was good and it's something that I'd recommend to my friends if they were in need. It wasn't high fee cost, it's just you making your scheduled payments and it keeps the bill collectors off your back, which was what I needed. Sometimes when you're barely making ends meet, having those bill collectors stresses you out more.
The only issue I had was during the time I was transferring work and trying to postpone a payment. They told me that they can't do that or I'd have to skip a payment, which could hinder my payment with me actually making a payment. That didn't make sense. If I had the money, I could give it to them but I didn't have the monthly. I wasn't postponing it for three months either, it was just for a week or so because my paycheck wasn't quite in. Cambridge should work with people a little bit more and be a little bit more lenient with how payments are made. They could maybe kind of work around that schedule. One's paycheck doesn't come on the same date of every month. When you get paid bi-weekly you sometimes get paid on the first, sometimes on the fifth or sometimes on the 10th.
That aside, Cambridge has staff who are well versed in what they do and I appreciate them. They consolidate and add just one payment even though it's $20 dollars a month and sometimes I can't afford it. But with them, it's there and it's easy making out one payment. Instead of $90 a month, each creditor wants at least $50 dollars. They consolidated $2500 worth of debt and I paid for it over three years. I paid it off last month and right now, I'm getting closer to my goals in getting that business out there. Overall, Cambridge is great and I wish more people know about it.

There were times when I needed to reschedule my payment and the reps were good about doing that for me. It was easy with Cambridge and I've already referred at least one person to them.

Cambridge Credit Counseling was advertised on WLW Cincinnati, which has a good reputation on what kind of companies to have as sponsors. Cambridge is a good company and they helped me pay my debt off. Half of the problem I had was casino gambling which can get you real messed up if you don't watch yourself. I screwed up and had several credit cards to pay. The counselors at Cambridge advised me on financial stuff and they were straight and honest about everything. The payment plan was something that I could handle and Cambridge charged a fairly reasonable fee every month. Since working with them, I got the interest rate down and I was able to get my debt under control. I had too many credit cards and now I don't have to worry about these anymore, although there were a couple of good cards that I wish I had kept. I had a good experience with Cambridge and I'd recommend this company.

I used to listen to the radio station here in Denver and a gentleman there talked about credit cards and suggested Cambridge Credit Counseling, so I got a hold of Cambridge and we consolidated our credit card debts with them. Cambridge got our debt consolidation all done and taken care of, and it was a wonderful experience. The counselors were great and they followed up and consulted with us to make sure that we understood how the program was going to work. Making payments was very easy and affordable, and it was on automatic withdrawal. Working with Cambridge was one of the smartest things we ever did. It has made me less stressed and it totally got us out of credit card debt. Through their counseling, we learned not to get ourselves in that debt situation ever again. We were totally satisfied and very pleased with Cambridge and I would recommend them to people who want to consolidate and get out of their credit card debt.

I was $40000 in credit card debt and I wanted to get it undone. I was unemployed for six months and all I had was my Air Force pension and my wife's pay to work on. We were paying the bills but I was living off credit cards for six months. I looked into other credit consolidation programs and my wife used to work for a not for profit organization and Cambridge Credit Counseling was the institute that they used. I called Cambridge and they ran a credit check and got me enrolled and they put me on a monthly payment program.
I made monthly payments and they distributed them to each of my eight credit cards. They renegotiated my interest rate. I went from 21 points on some of them down to four. I paid the full principal. If I owed $10000 on a credit card, I was paying them back $10000 but it was at 1%, 2%, or 4% instead of 20. I had to stop using the credit cards once the card was paid off. My wife had to give me her credit card. She wasn't down with that but part of the program was I couldn't use those credit cards anymore. They were going to kick me out of the program if I did. They were legit.
They were a phone call away if I had any concerns. They could bring up my account. I called them a couple of times at first because I was still getting credit card bills and it would show on this amount, this balance and they said, "Don't worry about that because we got it." But now I don't have credit card debt. My cycle score started at 650 and it's now at 780. I now don't care about my credit score because I pay cash for everything. I was able to reset my budget.
The other places I looked into said, "We're going to cut your amount in half but your credit is going to tank and it's going to show up on reports as being very poor, but it will build back up." But it never went down with Cambridge. I always maintain a good credit report but it kept going up. When I was in the program Cambridge counseled me that it was going to affect my credit score at first but not that much. It was going to down a couple of points but it was going to go up as I paid into the program and started paying off my credit cards.
It was a five-year term but I was able to pay extra money for it and paid it off in two and a half years. Cambridge is a non-profit organization and I was able to work with them since they were taking $20 out of the payment for their administrative fees. My original was going to be $400 a month and I was able to pay $700. We snowballed it by taking the lowest amount that I owed, paid that off first and then went from there. We were making payments on all of my credit cards but we were paying off one at a time. There was an amount that they were paying each credit card and the extra money that I was paying into the system was being applied to the lowest credit card and paying off that balance first and then go right up the chain. I've got friends in the program and I highly recommend it.

We did debt consolidation with Cambridge and that helped us get back a little bit better with managing our cash flow. They made it easy to handle something that was a tough decision to make and not really knowing what to do. They gave us options. The anxiety at the beginning was eased through. Then once it was established, it made it easy to follow through and feel very good near the end. It was a very helpful program. It worked fine to help us to eliminate the debt that we had, and put it in a monthly payment that was workable, and got it paid off. Their payment was easy and very well done. And their fees were not exorbitant for each loan. Enrollment was not difficult either, just forms to fill out, submit them, set up the payment and they started right at it.
The counselor was very helpful, especially in the beginning when we were getting it set up. They contacted us periodically through letters. We had a few phone calls just to make sure that things were moving along the way we wanted. They also offered other services and information. Their friendliness is very impressive. They let us know what their program is and understanding what it's like to put something together. Their support was very good all through the whole term. We got phone calls, letters, congratulatory things and a nice certificate to make us feel very good about having endured the program and gotten through it. I would definitely recommend them.
Hello Nancy, thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We certainly understand that it can be difficult to 'take the plunge' and ask for help, but we're so glad that you did. Congratulations for completing the program! Enjoy your certificate because you did all of the difficult work!

If they couldn't get in contact with one of the debt collectors, they would call to tell me to call them. Everything was pretty good and they did an excellent job. On top of that, the cost was great and the payment plan was perfect. I became basically debt-free and now I've got a couple of credit cards, working to keep my credit better to get a car through a loan. We did great business and we were on top of the game. We had lots of credit cards that we wanted to be put together and paid and we also wanted to repair our credits. At that time, I was working with Home Depot and they gave us an opportunity to get a discount if we sign up with Cambridge to help us out. When I called, the counselor walked me through the whole process and it was just one phone call and then we worked a lot through email after that. He asked me to give him all the credit cards and phone numbers and he did the rest.
If we had any questions, we dealt with them through the computer. If we didn’t understand anything, they would call us and leave a message. I felt very comfortable working with them. If I needed anything, I could just call and they would return calls. They were there for me. Everybody was very nice, friendly, and knew what they were doing. It was a quick process and everything was done correctly. They also sent me a statement every month through the computer.
They called the bank and did everything to get the interest down. As a matter of fact, some of them even had no interest so I was able to pay them directly. For others, they were able to bring the interest down. Regarding the payment plan, they told me what the credit card companies offered and they gave me options. They also consolidated all my cards and it was very easy for me to make one solid payment. Plus, because of the lowered interest, we were able to pay everything off and close it in about three years, as opposed to 10 years.
Because the helped us with everything, we have a better life now. I'm able to improve my credit and my other half was able to get his house. Actually, at the end we were closing out the deal of the house and we needed the closing letter. It showed very well what was needed, that the accounts were closed and that we were great customers. Cambridge was fabulous with that and I love them to pieces. They were so wonderful and I am happy I got them. I would tell others to be smart and if they want to better their lives, then go ahead and work with Cambridge.

I went with Cambridge because that's one of the perks of the company that I work for. It's the EAP and there's a whole bunch of things you can get like therapy and if you have legal questions. One of them was credit counseling and so I dialed the number that we were given and there it was, Cambridge. They sent me a thing and I had to set it up. I also had to write down everything that I owed and all of my expenses. Everything and not just how much was my average PT and E bill. After I submitted that, they negotiated with the credit companies and then set up what they would accept as a payment. They asked me how much money I could live without in a month and we came up with $1,000.
It was tough there because $1,000 of my salary every month went to Cambridge. But I put myself on a budget because my goal was to not have any credit debt by the time I retire. I have a mortgage and the usual payments that anybody has like PT and E. I will retire next month and I wanted it all gone because I can then live pretty and amazingly well, without the interest. It's one thing to have a payment, but when you have $10,000 and you're only paying the minimum, after you pay the minimum on $10,000 you still owe almost $10,000. It never goes anywhere. When I retire, I'm going to have maybe $5,000 less a month to spend but I also have a really good pension anyway. That's my problem, I'm not poor. I just spent way too much money and I don't need to spend that much money.
They tell me how much money they spend and every month, they would get a print out of who and how much they had paid. They also have a monthly fee which was nominal. They charge $25 a month and it's ridiculous. We got down towards the end because I owed some of them a lot of money to and some only maybe $300. Once we got the $300 one paid off, more money went to other places. Gradually, companies fell off and I ended up with Sears last. I had a very good experience and I have no credit card debt anymore. It was a three-year process and I completed the program six months or so ago.
They were really great, very helpful and they didn't do guilt trips on you. I could call anytime and speak to a counselor. I had the same one the whole time and there was steadiness or reliability and I was very comfortable. Cambridge made life better. Also, I've always followed directions very well. I'm not debt free now, I have bills like a normal person but I don't owe MasterCard $10,000. To me, it's like a miracle. It's done and I've been very good. I have a cash card but I often pay cash a lot more than I did before and not with money but with my debit card.

I probably should have filed bankruptcy, but I didn't. Instead, I petitioned the VA for extra money to live on since I'm a disabled veteran and they gave it to me. I enrolled in Cambridge and at first, I had reservations about giving all my financial stuff to them.
But I got my finances back in order. Every month they'd send me statements and if I had any problems, I could call and they were right there to answer all my questions. They have a very friendly service and what they did was very well done. They kept me very informed and I got a statement every month saying what I was doing and how it was going. I really appreciate the time they took to work with me. It took a little under 48 months to get it all taken care of. Also, the cost was very reasonable. I'd look into some other ones and they were outrageous in what they wanted for their services. All my bills were paid off. They did what they said they were going to do and I was happy with that. Use them because they were very professional and they're non-profit. They were very understanding, very sympathetic, and extremely helpful. I was deep in debt with credit cards and I didn't know how I was going to get out of it. I thought about filing for bankruptcy, but my wife talked me out of it. She said that maybe we should use credit counseling instead of filing for bankruptcy because it will mess my credit up. I'm glad I went on and made that move. I got Cambridge's number and called them up. They set it up nice and everything worked out good. They did a wonderful job and they helped me a whole lot.

I used Cambridge for Fingerhut. Cambridge sent me what was needed and they told me how much to pay. I sent the payment of $88 in on time every month. They also sent me one for $46.00 which I sent in. But now, they sent me another thing from Fingerhut where I owe $2 and some change and I don't know what that's for. But other than that, Cambridge was good to me and others should go ahead and use them.

But my wife passed away so I had to deal with Cambridge myself and everything went well. After she passed, I called Cambridge and discussed what we needed to do then we proceeded from there. I had no problem using them and I'd use them again if I needed to.

I was in a lot of debt and Cambridge Credit Counseling provided me with a consolidation and payment program. The counselor was friendly and knowledgeable. They negotiated lower rates for some of the credit cards. It was an easy enrollment process and once it started, they took out $300 a month, split it up 15 different ways and sent it to the different companies. It helped me get out of debt so it's been a big impact.

The enrollment process at Cambridge was quick. It took about two weeks. Their counselor kept me up to date up to the very last payment. When I paid one debt off, I added that amount to another one and they were very helpful and willing to do that. Overall, the quality of service at Cambridge was excellent. It's a good company. If I had to use them again, I would.

I was only able to pay the minimum for my credit cards and this is my second time going through counseling. I had called others but Cambridge stuck out. The fee for credit counseling was only $25 a month and they were very quick. I never had anybody from Cambridge disrespect me any way, shape or form. They didn't talk down to me and that was a huge thing. I gave them all the information on what I owed and they literally took care of most of everything. Then I have one credit card that I needed to add and that was no problem. I just gave them a call, gave them the information and they put it on.
I was paying $199 a month and that included the $25 fee. They got my interest rates lowered to half the percent, if not even lower. Then they paid minimum on all my credit cards and they made payments on time so there wasn't late fees. They knocked one out and every time a credit card was paid off, they put that money towards another. The customer support was fantastic too. If I can't make one payment on time, they would ask what day will be better. I had two late payments and they worked with me. It was also a mix-up but it was taken care of and it didn't count against me.
They also kept me abreast of my account by email. It was paperless and it was wonderful. I didn't have to call or ask 'cause I had all the information. I even got a certificate in the very end, which I'm thrilled with. I also got a pamphlet that literally showed every transaction they did with my money. I could go back and see what happened in, say, December 2015. My credit score went up so much as well, like 150 to 200 points. In the beginning, I had looked at my credit score and almost cried. The only thing that really bothered me was that when my last credit card was paid off, my points went down by 31. My sister is a financial guru and I asked her why this happened. She said it happens and it'll bounce back up so I've had to look at it again. I'm still in the good area working my way towards great.
I will never go back to that kind of debt again. The program helped me see that living above my means is an incorrect way of living and it's not a lifestyle that should be taken lightly. It showed me that there are people out there that do care. They told me that to be in the program, I couldn’t be using my credit card, and so I cut them out. Now, I am debt free, other than my car. But I will be applying for a credit card in a year or so just for emergency purposes and that would be it.
I wish I hadn't had to use Cambridge Credit Counseling, but overall it was a fantastic experience. I'm proud of myself that I was able to do this with people who wanted to work with me on how much I could afford a month. The program is absolutely well worth it. I've got friends in the same boat and I've referred them to Cambridge too. The fee is minimal compared to what they do for you and your credit. I wouldn't trust anybody else to handle my financial needs like that, and I'm happy that I could give Cambridge some kudos.

I had a good experience with Cambridge Credit Counseling Corp. One reason I decided to seek help was because I was working at the Hostess Bakery and they closed. I'm trying to pay bills and at that time I had four grandbabies in college. It was more convenient for me to consolidate my bills and I was able to find out about Cambridge and they did the bill consolidation for me. I kept track of everything, what bills I paid every month and what was coming.
The payment setup was good. They asked me what the best day would be good for me. This was on the 15th. They set it up where it would be like that every month unless it falls on a Sunday then it would be coming out the following Monday. They didn't charge me that much for having the program which was good. I had a couple of things on there when I started out and then I added two more, JCPenney and Dillards.
Occasionally, they would call and see if I needed any more help or if I had any problem. They asked if I as able to save something and if I got a statement. If something was wrong with the statement then I would call them. They would check it out for me and give me a callback. They were helpful about making sure everything was on track. The thing that impressed me the most was that they seemed like they were really concerned. They said that if there's any way they could further assist me, I was free to call them.
Right before I had paid my last bill, I had called because Dillards had sent me a letter and said that in 2015, they found out something, like the computers were messing up. I called one of the counselors and she checked that for me. She even said that she was glad that I called because if somebody else called and they had that same incident happen to them, they would know exactly what to do.
I'm glad I did it with Cambridge. After they started taking my debt out, there was money that I didn't even know would be there. It helped me to keep everything under management and I could budget everything better. After I started it, it was even more convenient because I knew I had that one set amount coming out that was going to take care of all these bills. They handled everything right on time, precise, and gave me a little layout. They had a good, professional attitude and I liked that. I would definitely recommend them for somebody else that had that same problem. I've talked to a couple of people and I would tell them if they want to try to get their bills straightened out, where they can one day be debt-free, then Cambridge would be a good, helpful institute for them. Now, I am debt-free.

Cambridge Credit bought out my loan. I had to do a refinance and I got my interest rate lowered from 7% to 3.85%. I’m on worker’s comp and a fixed income so having that interest rate cut was a major leap. Interactions with the counselors have been fine and I haven’t had any problems with them, as well. However, one thing I was very upset with was that they charged me to make payments over the phone. Also, sometimes it took too long for somebody to answer the phone and then they transferred me around and that gets aggravating. But the process got completed last year. And working with them has lowered my payment and it’s helped me out a little bit.

I needed help when I had many credit cards to pay and a lot of them had to be paid at the same time and the total is coming to a big amount. My employers at that time recommended Cambridge Credit and my son had also participated with them and he said he was having a good experience, so I went with them. They consolidated all my credit card payments and contacted the credit card companies. They got the interest rates substantially reduced in many cases and I have to just pay them one monthly payment and be able to take care of the rest and it was very affordable.
I've already finished with Cambridge but I had been with them for four years. At the beginning, all I had to do was to make a phone call and they had a phone interview with me and got all the particulars. I have all the credit cards that I was logged in, listed out and they took them down and then they contacted the companies and they came up with an amount that they can distribute to the various credit card companies and make the payment and they gave me an affordable amount that I should pay every month. And I made arrangements for them to deduct it from my pay from my bank account each month and it went off from there.
Chris was the main guy who takes with my case and he was very good and gave me good advice. He gave me a statement each month as to how much they were paying for each company. And every now and then, I would ask him for what the balances are like and he would give me a statement of what the balances were left from each card and it seemed very encouraging and I kept it on. They were very professional. They even referred me to other programs that Cambridge Credit had on credit counseling and how to improve your credit but I really didn’t go into depth on those courses because Cambridge was looking after my problem. I had a very useful communication with them and whenever I needed any details, I would send them an email and he would give me more information.
The only thing is I had to ask for a statement once in every six months so I know the outstanding balances on the credit cards, but that could have been helpful if they sent me a statement every month instead of having to call for it. But they send me a statement of how much was being paid each month. Cambridge Counseling came well recommended and from the start of my dealings with them, they were very professional and they gave me the confidence in them and I never had a problem after that. The customer support was excellent because whenever some of the cards which had lesser balances were paid off, they would advise me as to what card they were going to tackle next and gave me a chance to talk to them. When I didn’t, they went ahead and did it. They change the payments according to what cards had been paid off and they made it pretty simple and fast.
The services were $30 a month and I have saved quite a bit by the reduction of the interest rates on all of these credit cards. It more than paid for their cost and I didn’t have to check every month and pay any credit card bill separately. They were all looked after by Cambridge and the payments went on time. They drew it on the fixed day that they said they’d withdraw it from my bank account. So, considering all the services that they provided and now looking back when I'm debt-free with all those things paid off, it was fully worth the services and they were very professional and very useful for that fee.
The fact that those credit cards are paid has been a great relief. I've learned a lesson and I don’t easily go for credit cards anymore unless it's very essential. I have two very cheap credit cards and they're all I use. It made a change in my financial future and I retired one and a half years ago. And I started the program while I was still working and I continued it one year into my retirement and it's all done and I can see my credit score beginning to grow.
I totally support Cambridge and recommend them to anybody who wants to use their services. They are professional, knowledgeable and they know what they are doing, so you can confidently go to them and lay your financial problems at their feet and they will help you. Overall it has been a pleasant experience and a very useful one. And I wish to say thank you to the people who dealt with my case. Sometimes I would suddenly make a phone call to check on something and maybe in my particular case the manager is not there, but somebody else would help me and they were very nice. Dealing with Cambridge Credit Counseling gave me the confidence that I was being looked after by an experienced and knowledgeable company and they did a good job and it's a relief right now.

The enrollment process was through forms they sent then I signed the forms and sent it back and you're enrolled. Afterwards, you give them all the list of the credit cards and the account numbers. I'm done with it and it helped tremendously as far as being able to pay all the credit cards without going through a big depression because you were in so much debt.
What impressed me the most is that they show concern and they would text me and send emails up-to-date just to see how you were doing with the process. They will always ask if you had anything or if you knew anybody else who needed any help. Because I was going well with the program and they worked with me pretty well, I then referred my uncle to them. Their support is good and I've been impacted in a very positive way. I was getting nowhere with my credit cards because of the high interest they were charging me and most of them is a bad thing to get with if you don’t really need them because it seems like you can buy things. You would’ve gotten along without it until you have the money and then it seems like once they're trying to get you and you could make a late payment, they jack that interest rate way up. You could never get your head above the water the way they do with you. Then, I went to my bank Huntington town about 10 miles from me here and I was talking to some lady that worked in there in her office. I was trying to get a loan of some kind to where I have cheaper rates and then make one payment of loan but as my credit rating was, they wouldn’t see that. Then she’d mentioned about Cambridge. She said she knows of others that had signed up with them that were really happy with it.
She gave me the phone number to Cambridge and when I got home, I got on the phone and the guy I talked to asked me different questions like how much I owe to the different credit places and how much I was paying them a month. He took it over from there and we got it worked out. It was in January when I started paying to Cambridge and they took care of my billing then.
Cambridge paid off my credit cards and they were good at that. They contacted the credit places and some of them weren't even charging me interest and some of them were really low interest which helps a lot. The thing was to get my payments made on time. I tried to do that as much as I can and if I couldn’t get it there quite on time, I'd call and they would always give me a good answer and time to get it in. In a later time, it went all pretty good there but sometimes, when you only got so much money coming in, it's hard to work everything out.
It's gone really well now and all of the credit cards are paid off now that I am with Cambridge. That’s one good thing that makes me feel good. I had one with my personal line of credit with Huntington Bank that I dropped from Cambridge because I can go right to the bank so, I make my payments to them and that takes care of that. I pay the same amount that I was paying and I'll soon have that paid off, too.
When I was talking to my counselor, we got everything worked out real good and he was very nice about it. Also, he was always friendly and pleasant about things. He carries on when you talk to him about anything and it was really comfortable working with him. It was really pleasant to work with them and I enjoyed talking with them because I know they were gonna be sensible about it.
Years ago, I would've never thought of buying a lot of stuff that I went through. The program made me really stop and think that I only had so much money, I had to make my payments and do without some other things. I was with Cambridge about five years and now, getting all these credit cards paid and every day getting letters in the mail from credit and lending places, they go right in the paper basket. It was worthwhile to get hooked up with them and I would suggest Cambridge to anybody that has problems. That’s the way to go to get bills paid up, consolidate debts if they can, get them paid off and quit doing all this extra spending. I was glad for Cambridge and I know that if I have bills, I'd go that route again.

Cambridge was recommended as one of the companies to work with through my company. I know my company has good organizations for their employees to work with. And so, I used Cambridge for two different purposes. First, it was for debt consolidation and reduction of interest charges from credit card companies. They really helped apply balances or payments to reduce my debt and now, I’m debt-free on those credit cards. I also talked to one counselor about getting some advice on student loans to see if those could be reduced because I wanted to know what could be done with either federally insured or private loan groups. Moreover, I got very good referrals and I was able to take those loans and get them reduced and refinanced with another group. Therefore, I really value their expertise and recommendation.
I had exchanges of documents with my counselor. I also had step by step training over the telephone during which he answered my questions as well as became a resource for information that would be helpful to me. Eventually, I completed my debt reduction program and got a nice little certificate. While I thought it was school-ish, the way they interacted with me throughout the process was really nice and they would send questionnaires periodically just to check on my progress.
The other time I used them was when I needed to go through a program counseling for my mom. I had contacted a local group and thought that I’d use them but their service was horrible. I spent over $70 per fax because they said they had to have a fax of the document before they can begin. They never even called me to acknowledge that they got the fax. I left several messages on their group voicemail but no one returned my calls. Finally, I got the name of some other person. I left her a message and she was kind enough to call me the next day but she said she doesn’t work in that department. I was very upset for having to spend that much money and then never get any service.
I started looking on the pages of other groups that I could do the training from and I was very happy to see that Cambridge was also listed. I got wonderful service from them and I was able to get the training done very quickly. I was completely satisfied. Furthermore, their price was lower than that of counseling companies which offered training to me. Had I known that it was all via telephone and looked at all the names and saw Cambridge, I would’ve gone nowhere else. They are professionally run and employ people who can give service. It’s a service orientation and they know how to do that part very well.
Overall, Cambridge is competitive and they have a wide range of services. They work around their counselors to have good information. Cambridge’s service is of very high quality and they answer all the questions. I have no issues recommending them because I know that they have high standards. In fact, I would tell a friend to look at them first.

We have a daughter that was diagnosed with cancer right as she was turning 13. I’m blessed to have a good job and have good insurance but the costs of the medical care combined with the costs of what I refer to as the secondary challenges of a chronic illness didn’t take long and we really were in significant debt and needed help. That’s what drove us to Cambridge.
It was a very efficient setup process. The information that they gathered and needed really went smoothly and like clockwork. Then, once enrolled in the program, it took care of itself. It was a box that got checked that I didn’t have to worry about. I’d watch the statements come in for what we had paid and from time to time we get a request to go on their website and take a look at their new materials related to evaluating our budget habits. Also, one or two times during the six years that we were enrolled, they made phone calls from people to touch base and ask how we are doing which was great because we were doing fine. Based on payment records, we’re doing fine and they touch base asking if everything is okay and it was. It wasn’t intrusive at all.
The program is phenomenal. They negotiated with our creditors and were able to renegotiate interest terms that let us pay all that off. We’re not the world’s best household budgeters but we’re fairly sophisticated at household budget management. We just had an incident that overwhelmed us. The other thing that was really nice about the program was we paid what we owed. They worked with us on a funding on the budget and ongoing, it’s been smooth. We talked about the ongoing medical expenses and what I refer to as the secondary expenses. By that, what I mean is that at the end of day of treatments or regular life or during periods when Kathy was really not well, I have no energy at the end of the day to cook a well nutritious meal. So some of the things we compensated, we early on ate out for more than we probably should have which was part of the problem.
When you’re in a hospital, you don’t necessarily have access to cooking facilities or a refrigerator. So those things are expensive beyond the medical cost. When they set up the budget, the budget was very manageable. They made it possible for us to get it all paid. We didn’t have to declare a bankruptcy. We made the people that lent us money whole. They didn’t give as much interest they originally had hoped for or would have liked but they got some. That was important to have and there was honor in that to have recovered the fall.
One piece that I wish would have come with the monthly statement was what I refer to as a progress report. In the monthly statements, it said how much money we received and we made payments to these three creditors. There was no way on the statement to go back and ask when did we start and where are we now to gauge the progress. I'd have to go back and look at the initial documents to see what was the total debt amount that they negotiated with the creditors for enrolling in the program and then add up what was still left. That’s how then I knew that since I’ve enrolled in the program, I’ve made $6,000 with the payments or $12,000 or $18,000 and I’d be done when I get to $36,000. Those benchmarks for how my brain works and maybe other people don’t want to know, but for me, that’s okay. We’re making progress and I can see it from the other direction in terms of what’s left.
Also, some of the tools of budgeting that they had were somewhat beneficial but more than anything else, they were a safety valve. The negotiated debt collection interest rate that they negotiated for us and then managed for us, stabilized us and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. It brings tears to my eyes because without their assistance, it would have looked a lot different I think for us. They were a gift.

I was 18 and had a bunch of credit cards that I maxed out. I was looking to consolidate it into one payment and get it all taken care of, and my grandmother recommended Cambridge Credit as she had used them years ago. I told Cambridge about the debt that I had and whom it was with, and they just asked what the accounts were and how much was on it, then they pretty much took care of a lot of it. They asked what my income was at the time and then figured out the other bills that I was paying and what would be most affordable for me. It took me five years to pay it off, but it was definitely affordable, and I could call at any time to change the amount. I had to lower it one month 'cause I had a ticket to pay for and then I just bumped it back up the next month. I was really happy with how they worked with me on what I wanted to pay.
In addition, the interactions were always great. The reps were really friendly and quick to respond. I didn't have to wait on hold for too long ever. We sought Cambridge Credit Counseling Corp. services to lower the interest rates so we can get them paid off sooner. Because I went through my employer and their employee assistance program, we were able to pay the services at a lower price than what they normally charge. So that helped us out too. They helped us with contacting our creditors and getting a lower interest rate so we were able to pay a month sooner. It still took a few years but we were able to get them paid off on a quicker basis than if we had just continued to pay them on our own. They would call every once in a while to make sure that the creditors were following with the program. They would have me send a copy of the statements to make sure that they're still charging us the correct interest rate on the payment and the correct payment, and to make sure that they were holding their end of the deal.
We were very comfortable and very satisfied. If there was ever anybody in the family or anyone that needed any kind of assistance, I would recommend them. They would send out printed newsletters and they had different programs. They offered different kinds of financial assistance, videos and such. We didn't because we were focused and we knew what we need to do. For some people, they have different kinds of budget to help you with your budget. They explain everything so you don't feel like you're overwhelmed with all different programs that they offer. They were very easy to work with, nothing complicated.

The Cambridge counselor that I worked with always returned calls and emails promptly, too. I was really comfortable working with her. They helped me with everything I ever needed.
My payment plan was one lump sum coming out of my checking account each month and that made it easy for me. And all the credit cards that I had, they’ve consolidated them all and made it easy for me to pay. They talked to me and said, “How much can you afford?” The program helped me catch up with all my money problems. Now, I’m making money instead of having to pay a bunch of money back. Cambridge Credit is doing everything right. The way they treated me, they should treat everybody like that. I would definitely refer a friend to Cambridge if they need anybody to help them with consolidated debt. It was a very satisfying experience.
Jason, congratulations on your completion of our debt management program. Our counselors make it their priority to help you with whatever questions you might have. They did what they said they were going to do and I participated on my end, so they got the debts paid off. They were professional and I'd recommend them.

Cambridge consolidated all my credit card debt and worked out a payment arrangement with the companies and helped get it taken care of. We did an automatic draft every month and they took care of it. I went online and looked at what’s been paid. If I needed information, I call them up and they give me whatever information I needed. I was comfortable working with them and they helped me pay off my debt. At this point, we’re done. My experience with them was good overall.

I had a ton of credit card debt. It was $18,000 left and I was going through a divorce at that time. I needed to consolidate and so I did some research and found about Cambridge Credit Counseling. They seemed more credible and legitimate than the other places. I spent about 40 minutes on the phone with a credit counselor. She talked me through the program, asked me questions such as my spending habit and how I got the debt in the first places. I liked her and I trusted her. Once you get past her, she enrolls you. She does everything, tells you what's up, and then you become a customer. When you have questions, you just call a certain number. Every single time I've called, every counselor was awesome. They were knowledgeable about the program. It was probably four years ago now and I just finished some of that.
I have two kids in college and my payment with Cambridge was $470 every month. I needed to cut it down so I can send more for my kids and Cambridge made it easy for me. They required me to come out of the system. I had the payment directly taken out of my bank account. I was so close to being done with my debt. I can do this for four or five months and then get back on track and pay it off. I had to send them a money order and not a check. I couldn't do it with a debit card at the time the payment was due.
They'd send me a reminder to settle things and I also got notifications that I paid. I've called once because I forgot to pay and was a couple of days late. They told me not to worry and they'd take care of it. I almost wished it was one person that I could thank but the whole company was great. If someone were in the position that I was in, they definitely should give Cambridge a call. The phone call I made to them was worth it because they truly helped me.

I was overwhelmed with too many debts. I had so many bills I had to pay and I couldn't keep track of it all. Then Cambridge was recommended to me through my job at Kaiser. Somebody from Cambridge went in and negotiated the interest rate down to zero and they would collect a lump sum and pay my bills for me. They just did an automatic withdraw every month and then I would get electronic statements showing what they paid and where the money went. The counselor got it set-up and every month they would send me emails and occasionally call to check how we're doing. Towards the end, she wanted to see if there were any other credits I wanted to enroll. She's very helpful. They understood where I was coming from, the stress that I had and how much it alleviated by them taking on taking care of and paying those bills for me.
I would recommend it to anyone. My sister-in-law was looking into it and the fees at that other company she looked at was not acceptable. Whereas, Cambridge only charges $15 a month for their fee which is a really good price for them to take care of all of that debt for you. Cambridge really helped me get on track. It was the best thing that happened to us. I didn't have to file bankruptcy and I got my bills paid.

I was in too much debt. Even though I was making payments every month, the payments weren't really going down because the interest rate was too high. Somebody had recommended Cambridge to me. During the enrollment I had to send them my account number and they did the rest. I don't remember it being anything too lengthy. I got them for consolidation. They talk to some of the credit cards and they agree to lower the interest rate. Then Cambridge just gave me a number of how much it would be a month.
After the initial set up they sent me some paperwork like how to budget and things of that nature. The good thing was just to have the one payment. Because of it, there was never a way to miss paying a credit card or anything, and it came directly out of the account. Then they would distribute that to the credit cards. Every month they would send an email to show me how they distributed the funds to different accounts. Cambridge helped me get out of debt. I was pleased, and I recommended them to some people. It was a good experience. And I felt in the beginning they tried to make sure that I didn't get back in that predicament again. I didn't feel overwhelmed like when I had people calling me all the time. It feels good.

I had some credit cards, and I knew with the interest rate on them, I could never get paid down in time. Cambridge is the first thing I heard about from another person that has been using them. The guy that handled my account was on it as soon as I got him all of my information. It didn't take very long. My counselor was always awesome. Then I got updated emails for my e-statement and a newsletter. The only time I ever called them was to get my balance. I was still getting my e-statements from the credit card company so I was using those as balances. Whenever I wanted to pay them all, I called Cambridge and said that I had to pay off, and they got me the correct balances.
It was a minimum payment that I was paying. Then, I got the statement saying that, "You can drop your bill this much and pay this minimum." I like the fact that my payments didn't change and it was like Cambridge doubled my payment each month by keeping the old balance. I was able to pay things off faster. I've completed the program and it has helped me to learn never to get another credit card. I also read the newsletters that they sent out and now I know better how to arrange my bills. The service was good and worth the cost. Cambridge helped me pay all my debt faster than what I probably could have done on my own. I would tell friends to use them.

Cambridge was fantastic from the first time we talked to them. We had a high amount of credit card debt and they were able to work with a number of the lenders to reduce the interest rate and get us a plan where we could get everything under control and pay off. They told us from the beginning what to expect and what the timeframe was in which we would have things paid off and they were true to their words. Since that time that we had $48,000 in credit card debt, it was paid off. Paying off that debt has changed us off of the credit card although there is still one card that we still have. Our focus now is to pay that as quickly as possible with that lower interest rate. We do not want to make those mistakes again. We'll be buying everything with cash as much as we can. If you do the credit, live within your means.
There was only one credit card that they couldn’t take care of, though. Apparently, the interest rate wasn’t to the level where they thought they could change or do anything. It's not high enough for them to be able to really make much difference. Also, we thought we had a full payment left, which was somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,200. I called Cambridge recently as I wanted to get a final payout. I thought it was going to be in this upcoming June. The woman I talked to told me that everything had been paid off except for one. They were going to be making a partial payment of $488 to our last credit card lender.
At that time, she told me that we would be receiving a call. Throughout the month, the interest rate either changes or there's something. They wanted to make sure that they give us the exact amount. They did that in three ways. They emailed our account and told us what the exact amount would be taken out and the date it would be taken out. They also called our home phone and other number and left us that message. Everything they said they would do, they did to the date and time that they said they would do it.
I was also impressed by the human aspect of their counselors. They were never condescending, were very honest, were upfront, and were enjoyable to talk to. It wasn’t a robocall and they had a very good interpersonal communication. That was a huge benefit. I was very comfortable working with them. It was initially through phone calls but it was later mostly through emails.
During the five years we were with them, our total phone calls we've talked to a person was probably 10 to 15. But each time we had the interaction, they were very professional and they seemed like they cared. They updated us and their rep was confident with it. Their interaction was within good reason. Overall, the cost in relation to the quality of their service was very beneficial and was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Cambridge to others. I'd tell others that we used them and they delivered the service that they told us they were going to deliver in the time that they told us. It was a worthwhile experience.

I had some high-interest rate credit cards, so I looked at consolidating and paying off. An ad for Cambridge popped up on my computer one day so I read it and then I did a little bit more research into them. I called them and told them my situation and they were super nice. The enrollment was really simple. I did an application, submitted it online and they set everything up. I gave them a list of the credit cards that I had and what the balance was. They told me what they could do and asked me if it was doable for me and if I could afford it. Then, they called the credit card companies and negotiated to where I had zero interest. Everything that I paid to those credit cards every month went straight to the principal. When one got paid off, they took that payment and just applied it to the next one. It was great.
Also, if there was ever any question that I had, I could just call them and they were able to help me with what I needed with whatever was going on. They sent me monthly little tidbits online and then they would call me quarterly to check on my progress, see how things were going, if there was anything else I needed help with and was there anything else they could do. They were really knowledgeable and I'm impressed by their knowledge. There wasn’t any judgment, just their willingness to help and make sure that I was okay - like holding my hand and walking me through step by step. The cost was minimal compared to the peace of mind and not having that pressure every month. For the services that I got, the $42 fee every month was very reasonable.
I've completed the program and I'm out of debt except for my house and my car. I don’t have those credit cards looming over my head every month and getting a call from the credit card companies about late payments. It accomplished my goal of what I wanted to achieve. With Cambridge's little monthly counseling education pamphlets that they gave me, it helped me really get a firmer grasp of my finances and how to handle things. They were absolutely wonderful. It was so nice to not have to make the payment and it was withdrawn from my checking account every month. They took all of the pressure of making sure I was on time off of me and that was really a huge relief.
Several months ago, my brother asked me about Cambridge and how it worked. I told him that for me, it was the right program and that the best advice I can give him is their number. They can explain and design a program that fits for you. I would definitely recommend it to anybody that's in the situation that I was in. It was so easy and I kicked myself for taking so long in doing something like this. It was a great and awesome experience.

I wanted to consolidate my debt and pay it down and be done with it, and that’s exactly what Cambridge does for a very practical way and a very reasonable cost. I had no problem paying them their small fee because of the service that they provided. I certainly didn’t want to default on the debts and I really didn’t want to get into the position where lawyers would be involved. As I asked questions, their reps were very informative and explained that they negotiate with the credit card companies for a reduced rate, and that obviously knocks away the interest and so I can pay down the principal much faster. They were great.
As I work with the people, and I came up with an aggressive monthly payment but something that I could swing, I was able to get rid of $28,000 of debt in four years which was huge, and I just kept to it. I never broke week-to-week, or month-to-month. I did automatic payment, which they offer a small percentage break on and I disciplined myself to make sure that the money was there. It was painful but we've got to crunch our budget and eventually make our budget work for us instead of being a slave to it. I have learned my lesson now. When my appliance breaks or furniture needs to be replaced, I financed a lot of the stuff with credit cards which is not good and I wanted to get out of it as fast as possible, and I'm making my way through.
Once I negotiated the whole thing and got all my questions answered and got it in place, I hardly had to interact with them at all. They did a follow up a year afterward and they sent a newsletter. Their communication was clear and their documentation was good. They took care of everything I possibly could consolidate apart from my credit union, which doesn’t do any kind of reduction on the interest rate. They tackled everything that they could possibly tackle and now that I'm done with that, I'm on to my credit union and knocking off that credit card debt.
Thank you Michael for taking the time to give us this thorough review. You truly had the ideal experience. You did an excellent job of keeping your nose to the grindstone and sticking to your payment plan. We wish you the best in eliminating your credit union debt! I was trying to pay the bills but the interest rate was so high so I sought Cambridge's debt consolidation services. They told me about how much I would have to pay a month to get my bills paid and how long it would take. I filled out some paperwork and after I set it up, I could call them anytime I wanted to and ask them questions about how much longer I have to work with them. Now, I've been in it for about two years and I added more money out of pocket to help pay it all sooner. Their reps were very nice and we worked well together. They also kept me up to date every month. They would send me how much money was being paid on the bills. Cambridge helped a whole lot and I felt comfortable with them.
What impressed me the most was when I first started in the program, they were really eager to help me, to get this thing started. When I would get my bills from the creditor, they were paying the bills like they said they would. I could see my bills coming down and that was encouragement. Also, the program was inexpensive compared to what I got out of it in the end. I was in debt and I wanted the bills paid off. I didn't want to get too far more into it in trying to pay the interest and they helped me a lot. They were taking $20 a month out for themselves but compared to what they helped me with, that was minimum to me. What I also loved about it is that the payment was being taken out automatically, so I didn't have to be sending a different one for the payment.
I had it for about four years and I got my bills paid off. I have also received the certificate that I had paid off my bills. I have talked with somebody and they've congratulated me also. So I'm out of debt now since I went that route. Working with them has impacted my life to the extent that I don't want that kind of debt anymore again. It's a freedom. In fact, I was so impressed that my daughter also went into it. So now, she's trying to get her bills paid off. I also have a granddaughter and a grandson in school and now I could help them a little bit without using credit cards. Cambridge was one of the two companies that I looked into and we just went with them. It was something that I needed to have done as soon as possible. I was in a hurry and needed something to try to help me manage my debt. We had a lot of credit cards at that time we took out trying to compensate for a lot of things. So a lot of the credit cards started out with not a large amount. Then I got behind them and they wouldn’t increase it and then it caused us to get another.
I appreciate them and they really helped me out in a really tight bind that I was in. They helped me to get it taken care of and they were really lenient on the payment. I’d also went to another establishment to pay for something else that I had to purchase and some of those credit cards I had with Cambridge. Cambridge was really helpful in working with that transaction to the part where it got my payment down to them. I thought they’d be mad, but they were very understanding. I thought it would be a complicated, ongoing thing. But it was a two-day transaction. It was complete and they called me with the new payment.
A lot of my interactions with them were done online. I didn’t receive any statements, which I had to go online for. But if there were actually any problems someone would take the time to call me on the phone. There weren’t that many problems though and it was not a problem contacting anyone. So I had learned my lesson with credit cards over that. It is better to have only one credit card that I keep a close tab on. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Cambridge was dealing with five creditors for me. They looked at what I was paying to those creditors per month and had me negotiate to lower the interest rates and then figured in what I have to pay them. There was only one creditor who would not lower their interest rate. I got my break on lowering the interest rates so I paid them off quickly.
Cambridge also needed to know when the due date were and they were never late. Then I would call their team to keep myself updated. They have sent me stuff in the mail periodically and when they started dropping off, they would send me a notice. I would call them to confirm and see what they were going to do when they increased payment to the other creditors and lowered my payment to them. Originally, the creditors were taking $40 a month out and then it was $279. By the time I got with Cambridge, it had gone down for $20.
Their fee could have been lower but I understand why they did that. It was explained to me that my monthly cost to Cambridge was based on how much I owed on all of those accounts. If my debt had been higher, what I paid per month would’ve been higher. I could take this extra $40 a month but I didn't have the discipline to do that. So I went with someone that I knew would help me get these credit cards. Also, I never would have cancelled them without Cambridge and I never would have gotten out of debt.
It was a struggle at first and I thought about canceling. But it worked out for my bank’s debt. It was a long five years as I was coming up on the dent. The last that I paid off was Discover. With only two months left come April, that $279 will be off the book. Without Cambridge, I will still be paying those credit cards or at least some of them. So it’s been an absolute help to me and I’m never going to get into that kind of debt again. But if I do decide to be stupid, I’ll go back to Cambridge. I was very pleased with them and I have recommended them to others that I knew were struggling.

I don’t get that much per month for social security and by the time my rent, utilities and insurance coverage are paid, I have very little left. Somebody in the church had mentioned to me Cambridge. I called them and it was awesome. I asked myself why I didn't do it months ago. They helped me pay off debts and consolidated everything into one payment. They were so nice, courteous and very helpful. As I got things paid off, they lowered my payments and every time I get something paid off, they wrote to me saying that it was paid off. Whenever I called to find out about my balances, they looked it up almost instantly and while I’m talking to them, they’re one step ahead of me. Everything was paid off in two-and-a-half years.
I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned to fix my budget, stick to it and to be a little bit more conscientious about my credit cards and my spending. I’m living on extremely limited income and at times, it’s rough. I’d rather go to the library and read books than to go to a movie and spend $15 which is a waste of money. I think twice before I do something or buy something now. I recommended them to a few of my friends that were looking into it. I will go back to them when I need them again.

I had some questions about some stuff that I was doing before and what the interest rate was. I decided that I needed to do something. I had called Cambridge before and they called me back to check and see if I was interested in their services or not and so I chose to work with them. The people on Cambridge's team were really nice. I told them how much my debt was and what the interest rate was over the phone. Then, they asked me to email the information to them. After that, they sent me the contract and told me how many payments there were and what they were for. I signed it and sent it back to them.
Cambridge was able to get my interest rate way down. Also, everything was done exactly like they had told me before I had signed the contract. They verified everything that they had told me. The whole process took three years. During that time, I was paying double what they quoted me so that I could pay my debt off faster. The process was simple and it worked out well for me. Since working with Cambridge, I've learned not to use credit cards anymore because the 29% interest rate that some of them charge is just outrageous.

I had three cards that I wanted to be consolidated. Contacting Cambridge's team was very easy. I didn't have to wait for them. If they couldn't answer a question, they would give somebody who could. They helped me whenever issues are needed to be resolved. Cambridge also lowered my interest rates and helped me take care of my credit cards.
The payments Cambridge set up for me were reasonable. They were also very flexible though the credit card companies they're dealing with might have gotten a little stiff. Though I would be a week or ten days late with payments once in a while, I always paid. It took two years to get everything consolidated and now I'm done. They sent me a certificate which said I had finished the course. Since working with them, I've learned that though I could pay more bills if I was still making $1200 a week, it puts a little strain on me when that amount gets cut in half. I'd recommend Cambridge to anybody in the same situation I was.

When I was in college, a credit company gave me $10,000 which they never should have done. I was irresponsible and I spent it, plus some in terms of other credit cards that I may have picked up along the way. I learned about Cambridge when my friend made mention that she was using a company that wasn't going to impact her credit rating and that I should consider it. I was close to $16,000 in debt prior to signing on board with Cambridge and now I'm free, so it's wonderful.
They lowered interest rates on all of my cards. I had a payment that was due for each one of them that was consolidated. I paid $350 a month to Cambridge, which is actually less than what I was paying combined with each card. So it was a saving to just use Cambridge and then more of a savings because they lowered my interest rates.
I'd highly recommend Cambridge. It was a great company to work with. I know it's easy for people to get in debt and to have something like that that's available is definitely a plus for sure. My only complaint with Cambridge would be that when I started with them, I had someone that I was working with, like a point of contact. I understand in any line of business that there is turnover but they didn't designate somebody new to my case. Aside from that though, it was easy enough to contact them myself if I needed to. But if I'm giving any type of feedback, it will be helpful to replace case managers, etc.

Cambridge did a great job. My credit card debt was getting pretty high. And if I'll just pay the minimum every month on each of the cards then I'll wind up just breaking even and not getting anywhere. There are all sorts of programs out there where they say they've been paid back a small part of what people owe. But all those things really go bad against people's credit. So, we didn't wanna do that. But it was nice that Cambridge could consolidate it together and negotiate for better interest rates 'cause that helped a lot. For example, Sears was an ungodly amount 26% and they got it down to 7%. So it was really phenomenal.
Also, when I had to call a few times to postpone the withdraw date when things came up, it was no problem. They just postpone it in the system for a week so that everything would clear. They're very professional and reliable. I didn't worry about the credit cards not getting their payments on time because they're very trustworthy.

I had four credit cards that I couldn’t afford to keep paying on my own, so Cambridge consolidated them and made them easier to pay off. In the beginning, I spoke to a gentleman who went through the whole thing with me on how to do it. They contact the creditors and they set up the plan with them to lower the interest and to do the plan. Then they just deduct it out of my bank every month. It's an extra $300 a month that I'm not paying out now, so that helps. It also helped having a little extra money on my pocket because they teach people how to save a little more and how to not use other cards while we're using them. It was five years and I just paid it all, and at the end they sent me a certificate of completion.
Every month Cambridge sends a statement to ask how I'm doing and what I have left. They also lower my monthly payments on one card so it's like a cheaper monthly payment than what I would be paying for four separate cards. I got to learn not to use my credit cards so much so I don’t have to do this again. Overall they were a very good company and it worked on my behalf.
