    I got a title loan and the lending process was easy. You go in and show them your title, they look at your car and they will tell you how much you can borrow. The process will take between 20 and 30 minutes. In terms of pricing, it’s extreme but when you need it, you don’t have anywhere else to go.

    The store they have on Rainbow is phenomenal but I wasn’t happy with the store they had on Blue Diamond. The rep at Rainbow was more friendly and she greets you by your name when you walk in the door.

    When I walked in, I spoke with a TitleMax rep and she got right on it. She wasn't talkative, too. It was quick service, about 15-20 minutes, and she gave me cash. I was able to do what I needed to do for my baby's school. I would recommend TitleMax. Go try to apply and you may get approved, if you need the money.

    The gentleman who helped me went out of his way to wait on me to get off work because I went down there on a lunch break. He was trustworthy. I left him my title and then I stopped by after work and picked up some money. The process was not like I thought because I figured that I would have to have a bunch more paperwork. But, it went well and it only took an hour altogether. I was only required to have the title, an ID and an active bank account.

    To get refunded was also instant. I gave my bank card and they automatically direct-deposited it in my bank. Working with them helps out a lot because I was behind on rent and they gave me just enough to get by. I have known them to be in business for many years, and if a friend wanted a quick and easy loan, I would definitely tell them to go to TitleMax.

    I'm retired, and every now and then, I need to borrow money for my grandkids or someone that needs a little help. We also go to Jamaica every other year. I just go to Titlemax and they are really good about helping me when I need a little cash. I've been with them ever since 2007. When I go in, I don't have a problem. I bring my income, residence reference, my ID and my Social Security, and I don't have to wait long. It takes like less than 30 minutes and I go any time during the day.     I had a great experience with TitleMax. I had gone to the location twice. The first time, I was gathering information. And then once I found out what the payments look like, I had to sleep on it for a couple of days. And then when I went back, I had the same girl, and she was amazing.

    The girl who was helping me was just totally focused on me while still being able to manage the door, coming in, and the phone ringing. I don’t know what other people were doing there, but they weren’t answering or helping her. But she just kept her cool and was just calm and clear on everything. She didn’t miss a beat. And she worked with me and juggled numbers, as I changed my loan amount a few times. And even with being as busy as she was, she didn’t make me feel like I was a pain. And she was professional. I was the one making the jokes, but she stayed so cool. I didn’t have any issues or drama or shit going on. So, she was just completely amazing. 

    The only thing that she had to call in about was that it wasn’t finding a certain reference number. Because it was a couple of days process for me. And so, she was submitting everything like she normally would, but for whatever reason, she couldn’t put my original application together with my now signed agreement. But honestly, she was able to work through that with whoever the help people were on the phone. 

    It wasn’t her fault or my fault. I think it was just the system. Because maybe people decide in that moment what they wanna do. And it was resolved once she was over the phone with the help desk, and everything else was good to go. I really had no issues in there. For a stressful time, she was just clear, non-judgmental, and understanding. So, it was cool for what it was.

    TitleMax has been around in the community for as long as I can remember, even our parents even used them. I needed some money and they loaned it to me, and it works. The process was quick enough, it only took maybe 30 minutes.

    The lending process was a little bit off-putting at first. The whole thing where you're approved for a certain amount but can only borrow half of it was a little bit weird. But other than that, the agents were pretty good. They were real sweet and professional, but also personable. You could tell they actually had personalities and they really brought a human experience to the moment. The payments were fair, too.

    I just drive by TitleMax all the time, so I knew of them. When I went in, the customer service person was straight to the point and was able to answer all my questions. They just take your title and keep it, and the annual percentage rate and the terms were good. Their website was kind of tricky to navigate, though, it took me a minute to get used to it.

    My overall service with TitleMax has been good. Lily was taking care of me. And she was great and sweet, and she went through everything. The only issue was that she said she had set me up for autopay through my checking account, because she said the first payment had to come out through checking. But then they called me and said that I needed to make a payment. So, I was a bit confused because she said it didn’t come out for some reason. So, I had to end up paying with my card to clear it up. I didn’t have any other issues besides that.

    My mother-in-law told me about TitleMax, and even over the phone, they was just so bubbly. I just wanted to go somewhere where I felt welcome and understood, so I drove an hour and a half to get there, and everything changed from there. The experience was great and helped me a whole lot.

    Each time I have a loan through TitleMax, there are always technical errors. Using cheap tablets that are full of bugs and errors and coupling that with a mandatory system when you must be in the office to handle the loan only means that you'll spend 3 to 4 hours in each office. The payment portal is also always down or erroneous for some reason. And the interest rate is so high that it should be illegal.

    People go to you because they have financial needs. Why must they pay back THREE AND A HALF TIMES, as much as they borrow. They'll accept it feeling as if they have no choice, myself included. I and many others give consideration to collectively challenge this practice via law. Either that or go to Advance America, which has SIGNIFICANTLY more fair rates. I feel like I'm being cheated but have to suck it up. We all do. And we'll all eventual find something better.

HOWEVER, YOUR INTEREST RATE IS ALMOST THE SAME AMOUNT AS THE LOAN -- I guess you can do anything because most people who come to you cannot get cash any other way. The amount of your monthly installment wipes out almost 1/3 or more of my monthly income.

    TitleMax was conveniently located just down the road from where I live. When I visited to apply for a loan, the process was relatively straightforward. I filled out an application and they took a picture of my truck to send in. The approval didn't take long, and they were soon able to provide me with a personal loan.

    One thing that was bothersome, however, was the high annual percentage rate. Despite making substantial payments, the loan amount just seemed to climb back up quickly, almost to what it originally was. It felt quite frustrating since even when I made a significant payment of around $200, it didn't seem to make a considerable dent in the total owed. That's one of the reasons I'm in a rush to pay it off.

    On the brighter side, the staff at the location were excellent and very helpful, which I appreciated. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate their customer service a 4, reflecting a good, supportive in-person experience. But considering the high costs associated with the loan, I'd rate the pricing as a 1. Overall, my experience with TitleMax was mixed due to these financial aspects.

    Being a customer of Titlemax, I'm aware of the business nature where if your car is valued at, say, $20,000, they might only lend about $1,500 or $2,000 instead of the maximum you might hope for, like $6,500. This approach makes sense for them as a business to mitigate risks. However, the downside is that if you miss a payment, the repercussions can be quite swift, which sometimes feels quite unforgiving. I wish they could offer terms that allow for more flexibility, giving customers a closer-to-equal value with more manageable terms.

    The lending process at TitleMax itself is fairly swift and efficient. However, the concern lies with the amount one ends up receiving versus the actual potential return on collateral; it hardly seems favorable. The cost of borrowing was somewhat high, as my loan amount was $1,500, and the interest significantly inflated my payments.

    I'd rate my overall experience as a 4 out of 5. My specific interactions with the staff were quite positive; I received great customer service, which was a highlight of the experience.

The entire lending process from application to approval was relatively quick, about ten minutes, but the aftercare was lackluster. When I took out a loan of around $800 a few months earlier, I was misled about payment flexibility. Despite making a $300 payment from a side job, I discovered it wasn't fully applied to my principal balance due to a policy allowing only one payment per month.

    When I called, their rep stayed on the phone with me three minutes then she blew me off. She acted like it wasn't nothing and it was horrible. In the end, TitleMax provided the funds I needed which was crucial to me as a single parent to a disabled adult son. However, the overall service spiraled into a bad situation, with ongoing monthly payments of $369 barely touching my principal debt.

    I went to the Oakridge office to pawn My Blazer title to pay some bills. I got there approximately two hours before they closed. There was only one employee working but no one else was there at the time I arrived. She was one of the worst people that I have ever met in my life.     When I arrived into the office, I had my service dog with me. The general manager walked out and told me I was not allowed to have her in the office. I advised her that it was a service dog, and she said because the dog did not have a vest on She was not allowed in the store. I advised her of the ADA laws and that she was not required to wear a vest, even though she did have a leash wrap that stated service dog. The general manager said that did not matter, and she was not allowed in the store and I would need to leave. I asked her to look up the law because she was incorrect. She went into the back and several moments later she did call the agent that was in the front office and let her know that it was OK for me to bring my dog in. I do suggest that you have your agents research ADA laws. Once we got that straight the agent that assisted me was great.

    I’m writing this to warn others and to hold TitleMax accountable for the damage they’ve caused. I live in Wisconsin and had a title loan through TitleMax Appleton. I paid back more than I borrowed, but on June 19, 2025, they illegally repossessed my vehicle for the second time on the same loan — without sending me a Right to Cure notice, which is required under Wisconsin law. I confirmed with state regulators that this is a legal violation.

    The first repossession happened in January 2025, without a post repossession notice. After I paid thousands to reinstate the loan, they gave me the car back — but this time, they’ve kept it and won’t tell me where it is. My children’s belongings and my deceased sister’s cremated ashes were in the vehicle. I begged them to let me retrieve those, and they refused, giving me access to ONLY my personal belongings.

    When I tried to deliver legal documents in person to their store, the employee stated they would “shred them.” Corporate customer service refused to help and would only speak by phone, not in writing. I have filed complaints with:
    • The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (WDFI)
    • The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
    • The Attorney General

    • The Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

    I have also filed a lawsuit in Outagamie County Small Claims Court, and I’m fully prepared to escalate this to civil court. TitleMax gave me a ridiculous “offer” demanding I pay them — after all the money I already gave and after illegally seizing my vehicle. I’ve left public reviews on Google and Yelp. Their only response was a canned “please call us” message — no real accountability, no compassion, no written resolution. TitleMax has caused emotional trauma, financial stress, and hardship for my children, all while violating my legal rights. This company should not be allowed to operate like this.

    I went into the League City office of TitleMax on Main Street to apply for a title loan on my 22-year-old van. Cindy **, who was running the office by herself, juggled the three or four people who came in while I was applying with ease and efficiency. I came in with my driver's license and van title, and she walked me through the process, quickly, clearly explaining how much the loan would cost me in fees and interest. Within 30 minutes of completing the application, my loan funds were directly deposited into my checking account.

    The whole process was stress-free and took less than an hour. Yes, it was an expensive loan, but I expected that. She was very upfront about the fees and interest, and made sure I understood what I was signing. The loan was about a third of what I had hoped for, but apparently, the company will lend you up to a percentage of your vehicle's value, not the entire value. If you take the time to review the fees and interest, understand what you are agreeing to, and ensure you can afford to repay it, getting a loan is a straightforward and hassle-free process. Cindy is very efficient and good at her job.

    This is the second time I've used TitleMax. The lending process depends on how much your vehicle is worth. And then they make an offer and ask you how much you need. And then they’ll see if they can make you an offer. The process took about an hour.

    This place is horrible. The staff lie. I told them I was coming back the next day to pay them back and get my title. They said ok. When I went back the next day they said I had to wait. that they sent my title. to get the lien on it.
