I signed up for this website a three days ago, completed ALL the questions, set my criteria for height and age range. Received a few emails, responded and asked questions. Never heard back from them. The matches that were selected for me, didn't meet any of my criteria, age, fitness, height. I called to cancel my 6 month subscription 3 days later and was told NOT POSSIBLE. Spoke to a Jeremy and was told supervisor would tell me NO also. NOT PLEASED. STAY AWAY, they also run Match.com.

There are some real people on this site. But, there are also a LOT of fake accounts. Guys who fall instantly in love and eventually ask for money... they get easy to spot after the first few. The worst part of the whole experience was finding out that the site was sending out messages on my behalf. I noticed in my mailbox a lot of replies and when I clicked to open there were messages sent to guys that I hadn't done! I would imagine to keep guys interested or to stop someone from deleting their profile (and I imagine I got a few bogus messages too). When I messaged these guys to tell them, "Sorry but I didn't send those messages," the site deleted me. LOL... I guess as punishment? Haha so I relogged on and needed a new password. Rode out the rest of my one month membership, and exchanged emails with a few men I thought sounded genuine... we'll see...

OurTime.com is made for older people like me who are over 50 so I am not wasting my time with people who are too young because that is a waste of my time and their time. I enjoyed the experience just sometimes too many matches. It's overwhelming. Sometimes I like to be able to respond to all who contact me. With so many matches it's hard to do that. Sometimes I don't have enough time to answer everyone.

The pros, is that their app is easy to navigate. Had no problem with that. The desktop is a little more complicated but not hard. The cons is that there are quite a bit of scammers, but they seem to follow the same pattern. First they exchange a couple of emails with you, then they either ask for your email address or cell (don't fall for this) or they send this long email of how much they love you and age and distance should keep lovers apart or some such nonsense.

Other problem is that my profile got highjacked several times. Getting help is limited, and although they said they cancelled my account and deleted my profile, I just got a notice that I have 89 messages waiting for me. Oh yeah, I've also been a 45 year old Latina, a 71 year man, a 30 year old gamer and I don't know what my profile looks like now since I can't even get into it. With this type of security I worry that the hackers will really get into their database and steal my data. They really need white hackers to test their site, because it's horrible. I would give them an F- in IT security.

I agree with the majority of the folks who have given this site low reviews. The site is actually kind of hard to get through, with different filters for different things; and they are BURIED in the site itself, in places you would never think to look. I'm pretty savvy, and am on several other sites and none of them (even Match.com, this site's owners) is as bad. I get "matches" from women, although I have clearly specified that I am looking for a man; the age range is off, the geographical range is off, the number of actual paying clients is very, very low -- and since you can only send "flirts" and can't answer if you don't have a paying membership, the number of flirts is outrageous, and the number of actual contacts is underwhelming. They have an aggressive message if you don't respond to all those idiotic "flirts" that says you're a "poor responder". Give me a break. Why on this great earth would I spend my time responding to shadows?

On other sites, they have different mechanisms, like buying the possibility to allow someone who is not a paying member to respond, or responding with a pre-fab message (that is pretty bad, but...) which gets the recipient's attention and if s/he is interested, s/he can let the genie out of the bottle so to speak and allow the person who sent the initial pre-fab essay to write in his/her own voice. And you can't access your account if you are overseas. Which I am on a regular basis. So, my suggestion is pile your money up on the corner, light it on fire and flirt with the first person who comes to help you put out the fire. It will likely be more effective.

I asked them to return the information to me or give me a refund. They did not do so and continued to bill me for another 3 months. The phone number they give for resolution of problems does not work. This site will steal your money and make it impossible to resolve issues.

Worst site and experience in my entire life. Originally tried joining for 1 or 3 months but there was nothing stating what services were provided except for the 6 month plan; there was a list of what you received so I joined. Always severe technical issues, I had age criteria but was matched with much older men, would attempt to send a message and an automatic message would come up, tried to change or override. It was absolutely the worst and frustrating, would back out and try again, same issue. Was hacked 4 times, received several email messages with OurTime logo claiming my sex preferences, etc was changed and to contact them.

Spoke with others who stated they are receiving messages from people claiming they contacted them when they didn't. My daily matches that were sent to me by OurTime would disappear after I said yes! About 2 weeks ago noticed couldn't sign into my account, verified all was correct and would take several attempts. Some days would take 5 tries and again verified all was correct. Today attempted 10 times to access my account and still couldn't access. Went into the Match.com web and cancelled my paid membership and contacted my credit card company because of reviews that they will try to charge my card. Horrid, horrid site, rip off and truly a scam!

I have been on this terrible site since the end of last year. I have not met one person who was a real person. This site is full of catfishers and more phishers than I can count. I have been asked to go into their bank accounts to move money around. Why? Because he is in England and has no access to the internet. Oh really then how can you send me emails? I thought they came via the internet. I have been asked for iTunes gift cards. Because, "my iPod got wiped out and I am deployed and cannot buy one." Again is the message still coming from the internet? The latest, he was real good, or so he thought.

"Baby," (PS I am not your baby) "I have gold bars and coins in a bank account in Switzerland and they have froze my account due to fraudulent activity. Can you help me baby? All I need is your bank account number so I can have my employer" not spelled correctly I might add, "can put my paycheck directly into your account. Wait honey let me get my bank account number for you." Are you really kidding? Do people fall for this? Why? I have contacted the company by email and have been told there are no refunds. And they try to catch the phishers but sometimes they fall into the cracks. I'd say like every one of them who has contacted me on this terrible site. Wide cracks I assume. I tried to reach them today and they have blocked my email. I only hope someone starts a class action lawsuit against this terrible site.

First of all, they advertise these nice looking mature adults and when you join everyone on the site looks like they homeless. Where did they find these people and how do they afford to be on the site. Every once in a while someone will send you a message or flirt that looks decent, when you message back they don't really exist. The site says you cannot continue with this person. Some kind of error. That is because they are NOT REAL MEMBERS. When you try to reach OurTime there is no one to help you.

Finally got a good number for them and it is not to their site. It is an overall dating site and they could care less. They say if you responded to anyone you are locked in for six months. A 72.00 dollar mistake that they will not refund any of. If you ask to speak to a Supervisor they say there is no Supervisor and will not allow you to. Really? For the lady who said is anyone interested in a class action lawsuit YES I am. They try to go after people who are vulnerable. Someone has got to put a stop to this.

There is an elaborate process of registration, tons of personal information: physical appearance, photos, likes, dislikes, what kind of dating possibilities might be available out there, huge lists of prospects: "favorites," (people you have chosen out of many, many people), "flirting" - that's when you advise someone that you are interested in them, "favorites" - those whom you've chosen for further potential association. The cost is relatively cheap $19.97 to start, although they are constantly offering upgrades for incentives of all kinds. Too good to be true for us lonely women.

After your registration and your choosing of the favorites, you begin to receive notices that So-and-So has favorited you, usually a scroungy bunch, many of whom are way out of your chosen range geologically and resume-wise. It's tremendously disappointing to receive these messages and then never get a response to your replies, when the way they had described themselves was so enticing. "Ah, the end to Loneliness!!!"

It takes several hours to complete their forms, all that information. Then, they tell you that you haven't done enough... That's why you are not getting responses! The most tragic part is that you do run into a couple of, to you, IDEAL possibilities. What you long for... You "favorite" them, you've gotten their profiles, you want to meet them! They are interested in YOU! And so, it goes on and on. You not understanding why you don't receive responses to your communications... the ones that mean something to you that are appropriate. I am still thinking of two men I thought might be possibility for companionship in the days to come. I would like to prevent other vulnerable women from suffering this ignoble experience, cheap though it may be monetarily speaking. It cost me a great deal in disappointment.

It was awful. I spend several hrs trying to stop getting contacted from the LDS community that just received all my photos and info from the OurTime site that I had just joined. It asked after paying to join if you were interested in your info going to other free dating sites like LDS. I pick the no option (opted out) twice and still started and kept receiving messages from the LDS site and another one both I had opted out of. I was so mad but just kept getting sent in circles when trying to stop this. I also couldn't get to the place where you can stop the automatic renewal. I finally had to call a number I searched for online to contact them directly. 1-866-727-8920 and spoke with a Nice young man named Joseph who was an immediate big help and he got my subscription canceled and my $ refunded. I am a 72 year old female who joined OurTime.com hoping, not for a marriage partner but for a companion where two people find each other and enjoy each other's company and have mutual respect. What I found, in my opinion, was a site fraught with useless matches, "matches" looking for a green card, out-and-out perverts and a customer service (or lack of one) that could not answer a single question unless it was part of some script and refusals to transfer to a supervisor.

My account was hacked and changed me and my profile to that of a 63 year old male who sent out 400 messages to women from my newly created profile by the hacker but keeping my profile picture. I just wish I had found this site before I even bothered to join. I could go on but what's the use. They (OurTime and People Media) are going to continue to provide an unsafe website and will continue to take money and defraud senior citizens. I hope this helps someone from making the same mistake that I did.

I cannot believe the service with OurTime dating site. You put what you are looking for. Forget it you are getting everyone in the country even when you put less than 75 miles and you don’t want a smoker or you are searching for men, too bad you are getting them all including women. So I am sure I was probably a woman on some other women’s website as a match. Then there are some good looking men - guess what they are past men that have moved on. So ladies those men are not really looking for women because they are really not on the site. Then of course you have perverts and dorks but that is just part of looking. I can accept that better than the lies this website has.

I also saw several profiles that were hacked. Horrible things that were said and changed. I looked on other reviews and men and women complained that they were hacked so this company is not even protecting us from being hacked. I thought joining and paying for 6 months was reasonable. I wanted to cancel after one month. I really wouldn’t have lasted that long but I was really trying to make this website work. Well OurTime refused to cancel and will not refund me for the next 5 months. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he said the supervisor will say no too and then told me if that is what I am going to complain about he was going to hang up on me. He and I spoke for several minutes about letting me speak with a supervisor and he flatly refused. Wow the customer service is awful too!!!

Signed up for a months subscription, I did read up on how to cancel it before I paid the fee so I would know how difficult it might be. You have to log into the "full site" to do so, just an FYI. Ok, so I created my profile, upload pics, etc, etc. 99.9 % of the flirts and messages were from scammers. They're easy to pick up in once you've experienced them as I have on other dating sites. They always want you to text their phone or immediately ask for your email address.

Next, I have the same issue as another person posted, false profile views which also send out false flirts. Unless you are on the full site via computer and not mobile, you have no way to know if a profile is active or not. The computer website will show you how recent the person's activity has been. All in all, another $30 wasted and a lesson learned. I miss the old Yahoo personals, I never experienced the problems that I've had with OurTime, Match and other sites I've tried over the past few months.

Many of the advertisements are hacked advertisements apparently infected with viruses with the intent of scamming the consumer out of money whilst scaring them into thinking their computer has a dangerous virus. The profile has to be reviewed by them if you make a minor change and OurTime doesn't like it. They delete your entire profile instead of reverting back to the old one. There is no way to know if somebody is a paying member or not. So, if you like someone you have no way to know if they can reply to you. Effectively, a big waste of time.

I came back to Michigan in December. I joined OurTime.com to meet local men as friends. Most of the messages I received were copy/paste of the same "profile" and often began "I think humor is important, and I laugh at myself often." There were a couple other redundant messages. About 90% of the people who sent flirts, Favorites, liked my picture, or messaged were from over 1,000 miles away. No one I sent a chat to ever answered, and only two ever responded to messages. The bots are loaded up on that site.

Today, I got a message from the "friend" of someone who gave his email and phone number. I responded that my profile is quite clear that I am looking for people in Michigan, not AZ. The gentleman who owns that account said he did not send the email - he was hacked. This has proven to be a sad and costly experience for me - a recent widow just looking for a friend to see shows, go to dinner, etc. I would advise anyone who thinks of joining this site to not do it. It just makes you feel worse, and gets no results.

I received many messages and as I read the content I realized the person was part of the Romance Scammers groups. I had memberships at 3 other dating sites and all three had problems with Romance Scammers but what I found out right away was 100% of messages that I received came from Romance Scammers.

The Scammers only took 3 hours after meeting a member to ask his or her to purchase Apple gift cards for a total amount of between $100 up to $2000. I can't figure out who would give OurTime 4 out of 5 stars when members pay monthly premiums just to be contacted by scammers trying to get as much money from the member as possible. My letter to OurTime sums it all, 2018-04-13. Not for a second do I believe that OurTime is prepared enough to deal with hackers. Sad that I had to experience this in the short time I was with your matching company. In only four months, three hackers contacted me. I believe without a doubt that your company is not capable of responsibly protecting its customers, and that you are mostly concerned with the public not knowing how bad and how often people's profiles are hacked.

So I demand that you refund me completely, immediately. I do not know for sure what will be the full consequences of this last hacker knowing who I am, what is my full name, my email, my phone, my business name, and my location. I may have repercussions for life which I hold your company responsible as well. And by the way, since you seemed to need help protecting your clients of hackers and con artist, there is one more account that sounds awfully suspicious to me. ** from Aliso Viejo CA, 62 years old. His profile looks awfully familiar to the writings I got from the named guy Chris **, the hacker that got my information.

In addition, you should warn your clients never to place themselves near identifying objects. The photos that were send to me of the man calling himself Chris **, show a man near a car with a plate number from Illinois. Your responsibility above all is to protect your clients from abuse and potential criminal activities, and you are doing a pathetic job at it. Needless to say that I will place these comments loud and clear on the Internet everywhere I can. But the primary complaint is that the site tricked/manipulated me into paying when they advertise a free trial. And then they ignored my attempts to cancel until finally today I got through to someone - many times they could not be reached by phone - and hope that they deleted my account from OurTime and the others they had linked me to. Horrible horrible experience.

I don't blame dating site because I didn't make a love connection. Some people are lucky enough to be on a site at the same time, find each other and have a happy ending, most of us will not and I realize that. However, when I have been on a site for 5 months and not one date and no real messages, I have to question the validity of the site. Question, how many active members they really have. Before paying I signed up did a search and saw that there were quite of few recently active men that met my requirements, I was getting views, flirts and messages everyday. After I paid, (I was lucky the price that I paid was at a much reduced rate from what was first offered, I think less than $40.00) poof, all of my messages, views, and flirts stopped and the ones I supposedly had, I couldn't access them and I could no longer see last activity dates for members.

What on earth happened? I was scammed, catfished by the dating site, there are very very few active members throughout the site, I wasn't just looking in my area. After a month of no activity I went to POF, posted the same profile with the same username and same photo, although I have not made a love connection, I have been on more dates than I can count and actually have become friends with several people, FYI, POF is free. My time expires on May 2nd. I have already set my account not to auto-renew and I printed the page as proof that it is not to auto-renew and I remove my profile.

Besides committing fraud, the site is hard to navigate, visually unattractive and full of bothersome ads. Why do you have ads on a paid site? I saw an ad, OurTime was voted as one of the 10 top dating sites, number 3, behind Zoosk and Match, does this mean they can scam you better. If people knew how few active members this site really has they would never pay. Be truthful so people can make informed decisions. I'm sticking with the free sites and the old fashion way.

From my one month experience as a member of Match.com which resulted in being a victim of fraudulent billing by Match.com, I presumed Match.com was the worst of the bunch. WRONG!!! I saw an ad on TV for internet dating that was geared for the over fifty crowd so, out of curiosity I headed to OurTime.com. I accepted a two week trial offer, posted a professional profile, I am a lawyer, with photos, I frequently run 10k's so my body weight is within parameters set by the gov, have a full set of hair, am over 5'10", then went fishing for a contact.

The first odd thing I noticed was that the day after I subscribed, the powers that be at Ourtime.com removed the caption from profiles that revealed the last time a member had logged on. I wondered, how am I to know whether the subscriber was a current member or had cancelled months, or years earlier. That change placed current paying members, or even potential members at a disadvantage. It took me several days to uncover something I was not looking for.

Every day I received about 6-10 inquiries and each and every inquiry used the boilerplate script introduction that Ourtime provides to its writing challenged or lazy subscribers to wit: "Hi, I saw your photo and I like it," or some similar script. I would then promptly reply with a minimum two paragraph response, stating what I liked about the sender's profile. The next day I would receive a reply, "hi, you look like someone I would like to meet," one of several boilerplate scripts. The response was evident nobody read my reply, it was just an auto reply.

Because of the plethora of negative reviews from Ourtime subscribers, many, like Match.com complaining about being billed for monthly subscriptions after they cancelled, a myriad of subscribers, some whom I communicated with, complained of receiving emails from non-existent subscribers. In seven days I received over a hundred contacts, however, not one wrote an original note, each used the boilerplate scripts mentioned above. If you want to throw away money, do so in your backyard, not paying for a subscription to Ourtime.com. If you think you are so hot that you may think you may be the exception, I urge you not to pay more than a few bucks for a trial offer. I guarantee you that after the trial period is over, you won't be sending Ourtime.com any more hard earned dollars.

Myself being a lawyer, and a retired federal law enforcement officer, I will be looking into this matter further to see if this type of activity falls into elder abuse. Ourtime is targeting people over fifty years of age, enticing them with fraudulent expectations, to meet non-existent subscribers. In criminal law jargon, that falls into intent to defraud. Keep your money in your purse and go to the gym to meet Miss or Mr. Right.

During this period, I had the experience that I was getting multiple hits per day, lots of messages and flirts. In my account, highlighted red text showed large numbers of people supposedly dying to meet me. I fell for it and purchased a one-month subscription. Instantly, upon my being able to view all of my admirers, the numbers dropped significantly, and since then I barely get any hits. I am attractive and successful, and I am confident in being able to attract people, so it's not me... I believe they pile on all these extra hits in order to get you to pay for an account, then when you do, the reality is, very few people initiate any form of real contact. Waste of money for sure.

I agree with the majority who find OurTime to be a poorly run site. Worst of all are the scammers. I get messages from fake profiles anywhere from three to eight times a day. These idiots want me to text them or visit their Facebook page. Sure, I report the scammers, but why should I have to? Why doesn't OurTime check all new accounts and photos before they're posted? Then there are the constant popups, bugging me for enhanced services, at a price of course. I could go on for a long time about how bad this site is, but suffice it to say that even if OurTime offered me a free renewal I'd turn it down.

Updated on 05/22/2018: Today's the last day of my six-month membership on OurTime, I'm happy to say. I've already removed my profile. This is what I wanted to add to my original comments: I was getting an average of one view a day for most of my membership. But in the last week or so I've been getting three to six views a day. What OurTime is doing is obvious: they're directing more eligible women my way to try to entice me to renew. That's not happening; even if they paid me to renew I wouldn't do it. Several other people have said OurTime renewed their membership even after being instructed to not do so. Head's up, OurTime: I'm going to keep a close watch on my credit card transactions the next few days.

I created an account but didn't actually pay until 3 weeks after - when I received a great deal in an email. Fast forward to today, I log into my laptop and discovered that during the 3 weeks I wasn't a paying member, they would send fake messages to other members. OurTime sent members that I clicked 'yes I would be interested' fake messages that; I made them my favorite member, I loved their pictures, I wanted to hear more from them, I had sent a flirt...which I had NEVER sent. That eventually triggered an email sent to those members that I had liked their profile somehow. And eventually, those members would reply back to my profile with either flirts or a response that would trigger an email back to me that someone had made me there favorite, or I have a message from a member, etc... all to entice me to pay to join.

Upon discovering that, I changed my profile to totally idiotic choices because no matter who sends me a flirt, message or like my pictures, how am I to believe it was sent from a real member and not just someone who looked at my profile or just computer generated. Well guess what? I am still receiving flirts and messages with my idiot profile and I can bet you they are not from any member because there is no way anyone would reply to my profile the way it is now posted. I am surprised OurTime has not been investigated yet. There is nothing legitimate about them. All they do is take money from people. Seriously, that's all they do.

After only a few days using this dating site I felt as though I had been lured into a scamming site. The first man I had a chat with texted me once or twice and then told me he wanted me to contact him via his private phone and email, that he did not like the site. Red flags went up. After a few Google searches to find out what scammers can do with your personal phone number and email, I began to feel that he was out for no good. I chatted briefly with a few men and decided that one was about 50 miles away and I decided to meet up with him for coffee. I thought it best to meet him in his neck of the woods so that he would not follow me home and learn anything about me other than our first initial meeting. I felt safe that it was a very public place that we would be meeting.

As soon as I agreed to meet, he began to ask me to take off after our coffee and go to the next state to do some touring. I apologized and let him know up front that I would not go anywhere with him until I knew him quite well and that I didn't even know him yet. He did not answer. When I returned to the site later to see what he had decided, I clicked on his profile and it was "unavailable". This made me very uncomfortable and gave me the impression that this man was not at all who he said he was. After that I was afraid to talk to anyone else on the site, afraid they were just lying to try to scam or put me into an unsafe situation.

Of other concern was the fact I was totally overwhelmed with email from out of staters when I clearly made searches for men from my own state. I would not recommend this site to anyone who is sincere in wanting to meet a potential partner or date because there is no assurance that you are communicating with who you believe they are according to their profile. Most of the 1-star reviews used the site for a month or less. I signed up with a 6-month membership. Initially, it does start out as described, with mostly long-distance or otherwise unsuitable matches. But I think part of that is because most, like me, start with incomplete or first draft profiles. As your profile develops and some time is spent declining inappropriate matches, the site does a decent job in presenting potential matches, and I connected with a number of very real people over the latter 3 months.

That said, website navigation is more repetitive and difficult than it should be, and the ads make it worse, and the mobile version is very limited. I was able to cancel auto-renewal through the website, and recently let it lapse. I suddenly got 10X the number of viewed notices - that could be a marketing ploy, or it could be that they simply purged some kind of cache. Overall, with enough time and effort, the site adequately does what it says it will. I don't think it's worth the full price, especially with all those ads, but I may renew with another discount offer.

Too bad they're such short-sighted idiots; if they left it alone people might have actually stayed. They're just like all the other internet scammers; they don't make their revenue from the continuing business of legitimate users, they make their revenue from all the POOR OLD SUCKERS that pay them, find out it's a scam, and then leave.

I signed up for six months since it was the cheaper option, after 24 hrs I realized how bad my decision was, wanting to back away and get a refund, my request was confronted with a strong no refund. Beware if you sign for this site. All matches are not really matches, I get women as matches people I didn't choose as part of my ethnicity, soooo unprofessional, disgusting customer service, do yourself a favor: don't waste your money, didn’t try to call their CS, better talk to your wall.

On January 18, my Paypal was charged and the auto renewal was activated. I logged into my account to find that someone hacked my account and had been sending messages to other men. I sent the men messages to ignore the emails and that my account had been hacked. I changed my password, but to find that they locked me out of my account. I called customer service and demanded a refunded and to give me access to my account which they gave me my money back, but still no access.

There are perhaps a few "real" seniors on this website, but they definitely are in the minority. Based on my search criteria, OurTime.com claims I have 146 matches. The profiles for about 80% of these matches are so incomplete that they appear to be either bogus or whimsical. But in any case, not serious. About 90% of these matches have not been active at any time recently, which could mean they found somebody - or gave up in disgust like I have done. The primary purpose of this business seems to be to generate website traffic - which generates ad revenue for OurTime.

I get an email from OurTime claiming that someone with a name like HollyGoLightly has made me her favorite. But when I go to the website, there is no indication that HollyGoLightly has viewed my profile, much less sent me a flirt or a message or made me her favorite. So I spend 5 minutes on the website and visit several pages looking in vain for HollyGoLightly. This generates ad revenue for OurTime, but is a total waste of My Time. So, in my considered opinion, OurTime will be a waste of Your Time - and money, if you are stupid enough to sign up.

Of course I could only see the profiles of whom I was matched up with, and to respond I had to pay. I took the chance and said I'd give it a try for one month and if it didn't work I would cancel. I was matched up with a couple of gentleman, and after a few dates in of course public places, I found the love of my life! We have been together since May 2014, and last year in February he proposed to me! We have been living together for a year and a few months and I could not be happier! After a 20 year marriage and 2 children I never thought love existed anymore! Thanks to OurTime I found love! Thank you OurTime.com! Could not ask for more!

The reason for this review is because I am so dissatisfied with their program and services. I 100% agree with all the other reviews I just read as I have experienced the same things they have. IT IS CLEARLY A SCAM AND CERTAINLY MISUSE OF SENIORS LOOKING FOR COMPANIONSHIP! There's a scam about FREE TRIAL, every time you view "their" picks for you, they are gentlemen who do not fit your desires like a smoker for a non smoker, different religions when you're specific about what you're looking for, different ethnicities, sending you people who live thousands of miles away, when you were specific about local and it just goes on and on with improprieties! I wish there were a way to get my money back and the service fee attached to signing up for "membership". It is a shame that big companies scam on seniors and misuse their well intentions to build their wealth!

I've tried OurTime online dating twice now (stupid me) and both times it was a complete waste of time. All the negative reviews posted here on Consumer Affairs are absolutely true. There's no real dating going on - they just want your money. For me, the men who did reply were either crude and looking for a hookup or needy and overbearing. Setting an age range for potential suitors goes unnoticed - if you ask for ages 55-65 you can bet you're going to get a lot of people well into their 70s.

There are also a lot of young kids on this site, posing as more mature men. I could go on and on so I'll just sum it up for anyone who is considering signing up. DON'T. Instead, go volunteer in your community or get involved in local groups with people who have mutual interests (yoga, golf, knitting, whatever) and meet people face to face. You'll know right away if there's a connection or not and you won't waste your money or get your hopes up. Best of luck to you in your search.

I signed up for OurTime.com when it was indicated that I had a "free" month to test out the website. So I agreed to do that and signed up through PayPal. Even on the OurTime website under my account information, it showed that the payment was declined which further indicated that this was, in fact, a free "test" period. Not. I was charged $33.95 and later told it was nonrefundable because I had actually messaged some gentlemen on the site. Wasn't that part of the free package... to test out the website for a month? After two weeks I dropped out of the website because I noticed the following: When I first signed on I received multiple "hits' from men all over the country. Since that is unreasonable to expect someone to date men from other states, I contacted the website and explained that I was only interested in the local members.

They said there wasn't a way to view just local members which I thought was odd. I am not sure that the profiles were indeed "real" or even existed. I corresponded with one gentleman who lived in my area but he would string the conversation along even after he suggested we meet for coffee. He had excuses every time we attempted to actually meet. That struck me as odd since he was the one that wanted to meet. The software is set up so you receive separate notifications every time someone views your profile so from the same person, you could receive a "Like" for your photo, a "Like" for your profile, and a "Flirt" as well, and it made it appear like you were receiving all sorts of correspondence which isn't the case.

Since it was all from one individual. Also when I looked in my "sent" folder, I noticed that there were "flirts" sent to people I never contacted or had any interest in so I don't know how that happened. In summary, I am very disappointed in the website as it really is misleading and they aren't carefully monitoring the members or the scammers. Therefore, I can't recommend this website to anyone.

I received several Dogo messages request for adult pics, etc. I went online and change my automatic renewal to off. When I went back in it showed that it was on when I went to edited it showed that it was off. I did this twice. I searched online and search the site and was unable to find any place where I could cancel my account, so I called the customer service. Customer service advised me that my auto renewal was still on. At this point I requested that my account be completely cancelled and for my auto renewal to be turned off.

I was very dissatisfied with the caliber of people I met on there, and after turning off my auto renewal twice and finding out that it was still on, my personal opinion is this company is very shady. If you get on there and decide that you no longer want the account, make sure that you call them, do not try to do it online or you may continue to be charged. I must add, however, that the customer service representative that helped me cancel my account was very pleasant.

First my reference to being a scam - I can't count how many times I've gotten an email that someone has sent a flirt or has favorited me, only to go to the site and there's nothing. I shouldn't be surprised as I found out after Match.com owns OurTime, and Match is notorious for sending bogus notices of someone being interested, especially if you're a free member to try and get you to pay to see a message that isn't there. But tonight, their customer service dept. really got me.

I've been a member for a few months, filled out everything describing myself, the type of person I was looking for, etc. Tonight I added a line at the end that my membership was ending in ten days and I would not be renewing, shortly after I get an email saying we're not allowed to include anything that refers to our membership status and what I wrote was not approved. I go in and look and they deleted everything I already written months before - all gone. I'm not going to redo it now, I have 10 days until my paid membership is up (there how do you like that OurTime, I referred to my membership status). Don't waste your time or money on this site.

I got "matches" - most of them were from different parts of the country, more than a 2 or 3 days drive away from where I live. I got several messages, anywhere from the simple "I like your picture" to invitations for back rubs and to have my "body covered with kisses". I found a lot of dirty old men or very nice grandpas who I helped navigate through using chat. I am disgusted with myself for trying this - it's an online meat market. While I know that there are over a million people on OurTime and I have met with at least one, I have come to the conclusion that the website generates fake traffic to get people to pay or renew their paid subscriptions. I wasn’t getting any real communication at the site except canned flirts and ‘I’m interested’ emails (which admittedly is partially my fault) and I decided to let my paid subscription expire. Lo and behold my email inbox is jammed with flirts and notices that I am someone’s ‘favorite’. Easily tenfold the normal number (which is somewhat annoying to begin with). My conclusion was that they were generating fake traffic to make me feel like I had a real shot at meeting many women. They don’t need to do this and I find it a deceptive business practice. I edited my profile to state this and ‘poof’ that part of my profile is gone. I reposted that and expect it to disappear again quickly. The decision to renew or not has been made for me.

It's a dumb database programmed to do nothing but put your picture in front of men (women) who get photo options, "Do you like this woman or this one?! How about this one, or this one? And this one?" Like they are shopping for shirts!! So every time a man chooses your picture over another picture you get "A Message". Then, the site encourages men to send a wink or an icebreaker. And all they do is click ok and the site does everything for them, without any effort on their part. So I get 4 or 5 messages a day from the SAME USER and when you open up "the message" there is NO MESSAGE!!! Just a redundant msg just like the previous one... "I like your picture" and then another one FROM THE SAME USER. "I like your photograph". Then in comes another message from the same user "I like your profile!" Then another message FROM THE SAME USER "You caught my eye"...

And every time you open "A MESSAGE" hoping for an actual "MESSAGE" then the user is notified that you are reading their "MESSAGE" then they contact you AGAIN, and click another button saying "Write me if you are interested". So I have 300 messages from 38 guys from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. You cannot do a radius of interest. And the one local man who I wanted to read his response, that I had to sift through hundreds of BS msgs...that sent me an "actual message with content", I was not able to open it... After several attempts to open the message, I called customer service. Never mind calling customer service. You are calling the Philippines and they are just reading a script OVER AND OVER AND OVER repeating what they just said to you. Like you are computer illiterate, and that's the problem, YOU (because it is working fine for them!)

THEY WILL NOT TRANSFER YOU to a manager. They tell you "my manager will tell you the same thing". We will just send your "suggestions" to "our development department". They don't even consider your complaint about the site. A COMPLAINT. Just a suggestion on how they can improve!! All the while you are trying to sift through ALL OF THIS MESS, if it's not bad enough, advertisements are flashing on the page, just like it's a free site. And you can't minimize the advertisements. However, they quickly just charged my credit card $99 dollars for 6 months And the site's response is slow. So as I am clicking right in the same spot my cursor is, they flash an upgrade button, and unbeknownst to me, I've suddenly unintentionally paid ANOTHER $20 to UPGRADE, so that I can now know when someone has read my note. WTF??!!

I only discovered this through my charge account, NOT FROM OURTIME, so BEWARE! Why would that be extra, anyway?! There has to be a better way. Like a paid matchmaker program that doesn't charge you until AFTER you meet a suitable candidate. Maybe I need to start a real personal matchmaking service that is specialize to the individual and actually have a live person who will hand pick a suitable candidate. Forget this junk.

I would say that a third of those messages were from people thousands of miles away; or they had no photos, or their profile was so full of spelling and grammar mistakes that it was obvious English wasn't their first language. There are far, far too many fake profiles on this site. In addition, although they claim they're targeting 50+ folks, they are an awful lot of younger singles on here - either fake profiles or looking for their cougars. If you want to try it out, be aware of the scams, the fake profiles. The best test: see if they want to meet in person. That takes care of many of them really quickly.

What makes me angry is how these 'fake profiles' seem to proliferate rather than dissipate. Isn't anyone at OurTime looking through these, filtering them? Or are they just after the money they're making? Other than the fake users, the setup of this site is so non-user friendly. Flashing advertisements, even when you've paid for a subscription, poor quality photos... it's really Times Square at rush hour and if you have 'chat' on, you've got ten people trying to 'chat' with you at once. I mean 1,000's of miles away. Also you will soon learn most HAVE TO BE FAKE because their brief description says the EXACT SAME THING. Yes, there will be a handful of local members who are real people but 90% of these are unpaid members so you can't contact them anyway. This site also does not police who signs on and there are a lot of scam attempts from ladies who will ask you to send them an email, very irritating. Certainly not what I had anticipated.

As soon as I renew, views go right back to a normal amount. Now messages also seem to be manipulated. I receive notices from my email provider that I have mail on Our Time which is normally accurate but this week the mail was not there which has happened before. A fellow I liked messaging who told me he enjoyed our correspondence also disappeared from site with no explanation. Views have dwindled to less than 4 per day despite new photos that draw many views and messages on other sites. My subscription isn't due to expire until February and I won't be renewing. Can't help but think their employees get bored and manipulate the service they're supposed to be providing. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Although reluctant to comply we emailed back & forth a few times until he decided NOT to reply back. Shortly after I began receiving Spam emails from those claiming to be members... asking to click for more pic and in doing so I was transported to a site asking for billing info. Becoming suspicious I called OT & found out that their security experts were "already aware." They closed my account already explaining why I couldn't LOG ON.

I changed my password as advised but continued to get bogus emails... upon recalling to cancel OT explained... or tried to... that it was a PHISHING scam out of their control. The last email received yesterday Oct 9, 2017, from OT customer service stated that my account was used near Belgium on Oct 8, 2017. OT claim they have no record of this. Asked for a refund but a NO GO. Something is NOT right with this site as I never had these problems prior to joining.

Every single person I've corresponded with through the site has attempted to scam me, or has lied about his circumstances. I've been on dating sites periodically for several years. Yes, it's a crapshoot to find one that meets your needs and fulfills your expectations- especially online. But OurTime claims to be a dating site for "50 and over". Yet, as a male, you will be bombarded by phishing accounts from such gems as "Shelly, 25, Venice, California" or "Bambi, 35, Wheeling, West Virginia"- accompanied by photos of girls 5 to 10 years younger and profiles that state "Bambi has yet to complete her profile". And that's after you're suckered into buying a "premium" membership for $19.95 only to find you're also billed for another $119.95 (the discounted rate) for six months of additional misery.

In the 10 days that I've had my premium account, I've had 17 women thank me for the "flirts" that I've sent them and that they think we'd be a "great match". Don't get me wrong, they are some great women with awesome personalities that would make many men very happy. But I've never sent one of them a flirt. I know enough to send someone I'm interested in an email and don't rely on flirts and "meet me" buttons. I've also received comments that thank me for viewing their profile. I've never seen them before.

I've found no option to keep those I view from seeing that I did indeed view their profile. I'm certainly no stalker, but at this site if you click on a "viewed me", a "flirt", a message, or a user's profile, you show up in their profile as well. And that denotes an implied interest to most users that I'd rather not deal with. It may sound shallow, but the thumbnail photos accompanying these messages are incredibly small, forcing you to view the user's profile to even get a glimpse of the real image.

Your default "search" profile is set when you join and there are few options to edit those preferences. This is the same criteria that others will use to search your profile as well. As with any dating site, you'll want to change those criteria over time based on the other user's responses and "Match" requirements. This site doesn't allow for that. And to be totally honest, there isn't a large user base (because it's cost prohibitive to most daters). So, be ready for a very limited selection of users unless you have a very broad search criteria. As far as your 11 daily matches? After the first few days, they will be users that are well out of your geographic area and, more often than not, haven't been active in weeks. Buyer beware. This isn't even a marginally good site for finding that one person that will thrill your soul.

He was not a scammer, and really was all of that and more. Unfortunately after a little over a year he called off our engagement.

This time I only signed up for one month. I very clearly state I am not interested in a long distance relationship. Last night I bet I had 10 guys contact me. All with great profiles, all with wives who had passed away, all with decent retirement income. Once I handed out my email address- they disappeared from the site. I think I may have done this about four times. Each time I went back on the site and they were gone. Imagine that and when questioned, they all said it was their last day. That was it. The other thing I noticed just today was the fact the site had billed me for another month even though I had marked "do not renew". I'll have to take care of that tomorrow. That being said, there are a few decent men on the site. Locals at that.

I have joined Ourtime twice. You think I would have learned the first time. I didn't and did go back for more. I will try to be brief and outline my complaints. I think the one that I hate the most is when Ourtime sends you flirts from men who don't even know the flirt has been sent. Ourtime often will do this when your membership expires and they want to make it look like you are receiving mail so you'll join again. Of course you can't open mail unless you pay. You can join for free but it does you no good because you can't contact anyone. So it looks like they have so many members, but they really don't. Ourtime will send you matches who are all over the country and any age even though you have stated your preferences for men who are closer and within a certain age range.

Ourtime doesn't scan the profiles because, if they did, they would recognize the scammers. I find them easy to spot so why can't they? Ourtime makes it difficult to contact them if anything goes wrong with your account. I couldn't sign in and repeatedly asked for my password change. Didn't get the email they promised. I had trouble with billing, spoke to someone from God knows where and the person couldn't understand the problem. I finally figured it out with the help from a Paypal staff.

I originally joined OurTime about a year or so ago. I got very little interest from others, maybe a small handful of "likes" and a couple messages. I decided to leave the site, but, right after I did, I got a couple "favorites, flirts and messages", and felt compelled to lay down my hard-earned cash for another 6 months. The timing was odd, but I couldn't pass up the chance to look into who was suddenly messaging me. Of course, those did not pan out. Fast forward another 6 months with only a small number of contacts (emails, flirts), so I decided to leave again. Lo and behold, after cancelling my paid membership, I was suddenly SWAMPED with flirts, favorites, emails, likes and more. I got 20x more of contacts in two weeks than I had in the entire previous 6 months. As of last count, I had 15 new flirts, 14 favorites, 30 messages and 345 profile visits, all in just two weeks. Suddenly I was Channing Tatum!

Fool me once... Obviously, the OurTime software is sending out fake messages and flirts that I can only read and follow up on if I become a paying member again. Either that, or they are displaying my profile to 1000x more people than they did when I was a member, thus increased "activity" on my profile. Either way, whatever is sparking this insane interest in my profile that didn't exist just two weeks ago is a fraudulent practice by OurTime just to get me to shell out more hard-earned cash. I'll guarantee, not a single one of those messages is anyone real or anyone that lives within 500 miles of me. I've seen similar posts about this practice, which I why I think OurTime should be investigated and, even have a class-action suit filed against them. OurTime is pocketing millions of dollars by preying on people's desire for a date.

There was nothing stating that you can not have any type of contact with other members, send or receive messages as well as not being able to see who is sending messages and flirts. Within the first 2 weeks my notifications indicated I had over 130 messages and even more flirts. 3 separate times I wrote on my profile that I could not respond to my messages because I was not a paid member and that I would consider it in the near future. OurTime kept deleting the statement. That should have been my first warning. I went ahead and subscribed for 1 month with automatic renewal. The number of interests declined dramatically, and my matches were not within the ages and ethnicity I selected. The few I responded to all replied back with a phone number or personal email to contact them, so I'm assuming they were scams.

A week before my paid month was up I stopped the auto renewal. I then added to my profile summary that my membership was over in a week, and if "Mr Right" was there to hurry and contact me. I started getting a lot of interests again but without profile photos. I happened to go look at my profile, even though I still had a full week of paid subscription. Ourtime completely deleted the About Me summary, every single word I wrote. I didn't want it blank, so I wrote one sentence saying I will only be a member for 1 more week. That evening I looked again. Deleted again! The "interests" were swamping my email, so I know they are fake. With still 2 days of membership left, today I decided to go ahead and delete my account. As soon as I cancelled my subscription, I immediately started to receive an unbelievable number of views, flirts, and messages (over 30 views the day after I cancelled, and at least 20+ every day thereafter). In the 2 years I had been a member, I had never received this high a volume. These were automatically generated responses, and about 90% had no pictures in their profiles. It is hard to believe that this kind of behavior from a company is even legal... Unbelievable.

I wanted a 1-month subscription to OurTime date site, but accidentally clicked on the 6-month subscription at 5:00 pm on June 21, 2017. I tried immediately calling customer service, but lo and behold they close at 5:00 pm, central standard time. Um, no 24-hour customer service?? Ridiculous... I sent an e-mail to customer service and was told "Thank you for your email. I understand that you currently do not want to take advantage of our six month membership. Please keep in mind this package offers a great discount when compared to the monthly rate. Per our Terms and Conditions, we have a No Refund policy on all accounts. However, as a courtesy, I can offer you a partial refund for all but one month worth of service. Would you like me to process this refund of $50.86 for you? Please reply to this email so I may address your concern in a timely manner. I look forward to your reply."

I answered the e-mail saying I appreciated the refund, and to process it asap. Okay -- nice of them to at least give me a refund. However, I go to get online to check e-mails a few hours later... I can't check because I have no subscription!! So frustrating. All of us are paying a good penny for these date sites, and they're not delivering.

I cannot think of a single positive remark to make about this company. The "today's matches" which are sent are useless. For example, I am a non-smoker. I refuse to consider any potential match who smokes. This is a very basic, binary criteria. My matches come up repeatedly including smokers. I have contacted customer support after reviewing the FAQs. The response I received was a copy and paste of what was posted in the FAQs. I was advised that I should expand my criteria for more and better matches. Why? I was also told the feature of "today's matches" will provide better matches as I continue to rate the ones I am sent. Unfortunately after six months they are no better. I am completely dissatisfied. I'm sorry I spent the money. I feel sorry for anyone else who has spent money for their "services" as they aren't providing any.

It seems this website is profiting off advertisement and not delivering what they say. The website states people are online to chat, but once you go and start chatting, it shows the person offline, when the other page shows that same person online. They say woman are available to chat, when in fact they can't communicate via chat unless they are members. They don't advertise that part on their website. Furthermore, they are piggybacking off other dating sites for their information and profiles. Every time you click on any part of their web page it is switching to another page, thus creating more revenue from their advertisers. I probably can guess they generate all their revenue from advertising on their website. They are misleading the consumer into thinking they are actually going to meet someone, their profits are mostly based on advertisement alone. I would like to see their margins of advertisement vs members services. WHAT A SHAM!

I was like wow she is beautiful so I responded and with that she was gone from the site and my subscription was renewed. It's a scam that Match.com use as well. Men and women stay away from these sites. They are using models and spyware to steal our hard earned money and don't care about us. That was the last $29.95 at that time and they left my account in the negative. They don't care so please don't use their sites. I signed on as a paying member (Paying 2 months in advance), thinking that by making a financial investment vs being a non-paying customer, it would make for a more positive experience... especially in the event I might need support from the service reps on the site. I could not have been any more wrong... Customer "Non-service" is what it should be called. I paid for a 2-month membership. The site itself is not the most user-friendly, but I hung in there, figuring I would get more familiar & comfortable with it... and that things would get better. I did become more familiar with it before too long.

I will spare you the details of the initial challenges I had communicating with their "No service department" and go to the final deal-breaker for me. There were many up to that point, and I could hardly ever reach a live person to help me. Anytime I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that was not possible... Really??? By the way, I NEVER provided my personal email address or phone number to anyone I communicated with - EVER! At most, I provided my first name ONLY, and that was even only to a few men. One evening, with no advance warning from the company, I attempted to log in several times... With no success. It was if my profile had just disappeared. I called their number and found out that their customer service is not available after 7 pm. You cannot leave a message - You just have to keep calling. I also sent an email. It took several days to get a reply.

When I was finally able to reach someone (Never a return call from them, I just had to keep calling), I asked them why my account was unavailable. Could get no answer, other than that they had decided to remove it. I asked them why, and they refused to tell me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that was not an option. After calling back several times & trying repeatedly to reach a caring representative, I was told that someone had hacked into my profile and that was why it was removed. As I said before, no one felt it was necessary to inform me of that. They just removed the profile with no notice or explanation.

After numerous calls by ME (They never gave me the courtesy of a return call), I found ONE semi-caring representative (I was in tears by the time I spoke with him). He basically told me it was MY fault that my account was hacked and that it couldn't have been hacked unless someone had my personal email and login information. Well, I live alone, and I am the only one that uses my laptop - I told him NO ONE had access to either of those things. For all intents and purposes, they basically called me a liar... It was MY fault I got hacked. Besides the poor customer service I received at each and every turn, and after I was told my account had been terminated. Just a few days ago, I received yet another message from one of their members. When I forwarded them to the service department, I received a response assuring me that my profile was no longer visible and that it's not visible to any members on the site.

I had signed up with OurTime in 2013, and then I got a job in Tokyo, Japan. I still tried to use the site, but my profile was mysteriously taken down because OurTime said they suspected it to be a fraudulent profile. When I returned to the States in October 2016, I set up a new profile, careful to decline auto renewal, and chose the 1 month membership option. When I stated in my profile that in the past I had not had as much as 1 connection on OurTime and not much luck in meeting females on OurTime that I was interested in, even though they had expressed interest in me first, my profile was deleted by OurTime. I also realized that if OurTime noticed that you had not logged in for a while, your inbox would be full of 'profile views', 'favorites', 'messages', etc.

Once you responded to any of them, you would NEVER get a response back. I too started suspecting that OurTime was manipulating the site and sending bogus interest notifications. The same would happen when the 1 month membership expired and I did not renew. All of a sudden I would have dozens of women 'interested' in me, but not one would respond when I showed interest back. Hmmm... Anyway, the straw that broke the camel's back was when in March, I renewed my 1 month membership, and elected to decline auto renewal, like I normally do. Only to discover that in April, my credit card was automatically billed!!! Livid, I contacted OurTime at (866)727-8920 (a number that OurTime does it's best not to disclose to its members), and the customer service rep let me know that it was an error, and I would be refunded.

Having no faith in OurTime or what the customer service rep said, when I got off the phone, I immediately deleted my profile and contacted my bank to dispute the charges and block all future attempts by OurTime to charge my card. Wouldn't you know it? My bank told me it was a good thing I called, because OurTime had set up monthly recurring charges to be debited from my card every month, even though I selected only 1 month membership at a time, with no auto renewal. Bottomline, OurTime is a SCAM that is only interested in finding crooked ways to charge your card. The profiles are NOT real, and all those 'views', 'favorites', 'messages' are all manipulated by OurTime staff. Beware!!!!

Now with your not renewing these same rejected profiles are interested in you again. Fraud--Scam. Once they have credit card info it is nearly impossible to cancel. Beware! So many things wrong with this company. First, they fabricate a large percentage of so-called "profiles". If you read people's thoughts about themselves, their entire stories are identical, right down to the grammar and punctuation errors. Five identical words by two different people is assumed to be plagiarism. Here we have dozens of people all choosing identical entire paragraphs. Statistically impossible.

When you turn off "auto-renew your subscription", suddenly you will be flooded with dozens of new people, all with the very same stories. As soon as subscription runs out, you will receive daily notifications that people are trying to contact you, but the only way to find who out is to re-up. When you re-subscribe, the messages are the same fake profiles and then suddenly they stop. There are some real people on this site, but you will never know if you are talking with one, or just some frat boy intern in Dallas manipulating people. What a horrible company to prey on people who are often emotionally vulnerable already. Scum.

I joined OurTime.com and uploaded my photo with full description. I paid using PayPal. Being a wary customer, I copied photos of the 5 men I was interested in. They were supposedly local to me (Blacksburg, Virginia). I used Google Photo Search and came up with completely different identities for these men. They were as follows: an architect living in OK (same photo as is on his website), a politician in VA (married and never lived in Daleville where OurTime.com had him living), an army enlisted officer living in PA (this one was listed as a medical doctor, living in Roanoke, VA), an unidentifiable person sitting in his car, a married guy living in Alaska (also listed as having a doctorate, but his true identity said he was a tax preparer).

There were also several suspicious attempts to contact me. One was a very generic plea to find Ms. Right. I did a search on his photo too, and he seemed to be an imposter as well. He was listed as living in TX, but my online search showed the person in the pic to be living in OR. Really strange stuff. After all this searching, I decided I really didn't want to belong to the scam site, so I requested a refund. I was told I could not get one. It took 48 hours for customer service to contact me with this information. I then stopped future payments via PayPal, so they could not charge me for additional months.

After this, I figured I would go back on the site to observe a little more. When I attempted to log in, I could not. I tried password renewals and nothing helped. At this time, I have been emailing back and forth with a Customer Service Rep, and she has tried many things to get me logged in. Still nothing. I am fairly certain that they are trying to wear me down so that I won't search their fake site anymore. Bad news for them. I have a PHD in Psychology, and I love doing this sort of detective work. If I ever get back in there, I will definitely pull down a lot more pics and check them out. I have a new research question now, "What percentage of men on OurTime.com are actually real people." It will be fascinating to discover the results!

Secondly, website is rigged with all kinds of traps & tricks to squeeze more money out of poor participating saps. Another issue is that many tools ie username search, customized texting, and picture attachments are non-existent? Customer support is also on autopilot. After canceling I started getting all sorts of emails from them. They stated I had a ton of messages, so I should sign up so I could read them and if I rejoined they would give me a discounted price. (A discounted price that was supposed to roll over automatically and I would stay at that price as long as I continued) Sadly enough I did and as soon as I did those messages disappeared. Then every so often I would get a message in my inbox and when I tried to reply no one would reply back. After having this happened several times I realized that what they were doing was stringing me along.

To boot halfway through this I received a message through email that there was a problem with my billing and my payment didn't go through and because of this unfortunately I would have to go back to the original price. Their system wouldn't allow them to give me the discount anymore. I kept on it pretty much out of curiosity for some time, until I was fed up with it and was sure it was just computer generated messages they were sending me with no real people behind them. I also found out they keep your photo and your profile in the system after you cancel which had been confirmed by a friend of mine who was also on the site. So this last time when I canceled I requested a an email stating they had removed my profile from their account. This remains to be seen. My suggestion would be avoid the site at all costs. I've been a member of OurTime twice; the first time was back in 2015. I think that with that first membership I was able to set my criteria for ethnicity, etc., but I wasn't able to do that this time so of course all the respondents to my profile were not what I was interested in. But what really ticks me off is that the week I canceled my auto-renewal, I got messages from a couple of decent guys and I was enjoying talking to them. I told them my membership expired at the end of the week, on 3/3/17. With one of them, the conversation progressed to the point I gave him my phone number. But the other guy didn't contact me again until the day my membership was supposed to expire. I logged into the site just fine that morning, though, so I responded to his message.

I thought about giving him my phone number, just in case he didn't contact me again that day, but I figured that if he didn't I could always send him a message later that day, since my membership was still active. I figured that the memberships would expire at midnight either the morning of the expiry date or midnight the night of the expiry date. Well, OurTime decided to lock my messages right in the middle of the day instead, which I discovered when I got an email saying, "+1 New Message." I clicked on the link to go into the messages section of OurTime, and got nothing but a big ad telling me about my options for renewing. I tried everything I could think of to get around that thing and get to my messages, but no dice.

I had noticed that the email was different than the emails I usually got from actual matches, and the first time I was a member of OurTime they had managed to scam me into renewing by sending me that kind of an email, so curiosity got the better of me and I renewed... only to find that my "new message" was a message from the OurTime system telling me I should renew!! So I was pretty positive the same thing was happening this time, too. But then... I got some more message notifications, and I started thinking those might be legitimate ones from the guys I was talking to (and I found out later that one of the guys had indeed sent me a message). So of course then I REALLY wanted back into the site.

I emailed their customer service, and got back a form letter that said "Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If this does not solve your dilemma, please respond to this email." So I initiated a long conversation with a customer service rep that lasted for a couple of days and consisted of me telling him how lousy it was for them to lock my messages in the middle of the day after I had already started new conversations, and that they should let me back into my messages for just 10 minutes so I could wrap them up. The rep stonewalled me for about 5 messages, and refused to send the issue to a supervisor and then said he would not be responding to any more messages from me.

I feel like they've made plenty of money off me (especially since they got the renewal money from me the first time I was a member), and their tactics for getting me to renew are underhanded. I will never be a member again, and I really wish someone would make them change their policies. Your membership page should at least be very specific about when the membership ends, right down to the hour.

I have used our time twice. On both occasions the site did not live up to its advertisements but then few things really do. Of course the site is a bit of a scam and their primary purpose is to get more money out of you but you really do need to sign up if you want to use the site. The only free site I have found is POF. Everyone else's offer of free is just a lure to get you to sign up. I did have some success on OurTime but I have found the site to be a bit unscrupulous in its dealings (sending messages and flirts on your behalf, loading your inbox with messages that disappear when you signup and of course the auto renewal) and you have to be aware and realistic when you join. I think it works better if you are in a larger population center.

I am in a small town and there is just so few members in that area that the selection is limited. I expanded my search to include people far away. This gave me a bit more selection but actually building a functioning relationship using dating apps is pretty limited. It's a great way to meet people but there is no guarantee that you'll find a relationship. I found OurTime has deteriorated in quality the second time around. There are a lot of profiles that are inactive and the company makes zero effort to weed them out. There are a lot of creeps too but that can be said for any dating app and from my experience online dating is just like going to a really, really big bar. The methods may be new but the scene is still the same so don't take it personally. Keep at it, keep your expectations low, stick to your guns and take it as it comes. Who knows maybe you will get lucky. Online dating is a crap shoot to be sure!

When and if you sign up make sure the first thing you do is turn off the auto renewal. Go to your account settings, click on edit and follow the prompts. It is not hard to do but if you don't then you will get renewed and there is no refund. Same with when you sign up, there is a blue bar just below the advertisement that will bring up your options and select from there. If you don't deliberately pick the option you want and just click blindly the company will pick for you and they will pick the option that suits them and not you. You can choose a 1-month option but I have found that a three-month subscription is best because meeting someone worthwhile just doesn't happen that quickly. The six-month option isn't worth it. All in all OurTime is an okay app but just don't assume that it's a slam dunk to happy ever after. I hope this helps other consumers and I wish everyone good luck in their search for love.

I signed up for 6 months on OurTime and was locked out of my profile after 2 weeks. My profile was hacked after two weeks sending embarrassing pictures and misinformation to my contacts on the site. I called OurTime who was less than helpful telling me they would reactivate my account and get it back online. Why would I want to get back on the same account that has already been hacked and has distributed misinformation under my profile? I indicated that I absolutely do not want to reopen this account or any other account with OurTime. They were also not willing to refund any portion of the $80 I paid. Buyer beware. This site has big problems and may cause more harm to your reputation than it's worth.

Two months and I have met no one. Everyone who flirts or messages me is either: 1) in another state (my profile says LOCALS ONLY), 2) does not know how to smile or take an attractive picture, or upload a picture at all, 3) is not my type -- it's all in my profile, or 4) says something rather suggestive. Most of the profiles are lame and don't tell you anything about these guys.

I did have one fairly cute guy message me and then he gave me his # right away. That seemed a little bit forward, so I sat on it for a few days. He messaged again 3 days later and sounded a little aggressive: "Well you sure lost interest." Against my better judgment, I chatted with him on the site then tried calling him. It went to voice mail -- weird, since he really wanted to talk by phone. He had a thick New Zealand accent, but I didn't leave a message or ever give my name. I texted him and asked where he was from. "Dallas, Texas." If he's from Dallas, I'm from Moscow! I blocked him on OurTime and on my cell phone. I just knew the request for money couldn't be far behind.

Even the guys who seem real (a little overweight, not a model) often don't read messages sent to them. I don't necessarily expect a reply; their silence is the reply. What surprised me is how many have not logged in for months; you only find that out after you send a message or flirt. Some have not been on the site since May 2016. (It's now Feb 2017!) Why haven't they been removed? I guess the site wants to build their database of decent-looking guys.

Another gripe: the disappearing/reappearing profiles. Also, no tech support, and the help pages are very weak. There's a feature called Connect Me (it costs another $16) that's supposed to keep your number private, but they give no instructions of how to use it. It's just a way to get more money. All in all, it's been frustrating. I was able to turn off auto-renew, so I will delete my profile in the next couple of months. If there is any good news, I didn't spend too much money. I'm now trying Tinder and spending less time on OurTime.

They refused to give me a credit for the 6 mos I have been charged for $107. It is a racket - I am appalled and feel scammed and deceived. Don't fall for their scam.

Had a one month subscription. Canceled after two weeks for many reasons... 1. No live phone help. 2. Tons of fake profiles contact you that clearly do not even look at the profile you make for yourself. Many pretty faces 30 years my younger even though my profile stated I would ignore such types. 3. At first many contacted me but then they taper off. One or two would act interested as if to lead you on in chat so you don't cancel. 4. The profiles you look at never check yours back at all so they are all ghost just to waste your time and lead you on, I think. Profile changes in text and added photos are instantly "approved" leading me further to assume they don't even have real employees. 5. The interface is horrible. It kept telling me I have mail or flirts when nothing was there.

    6. The ones that contacted me showed up as online but really aren't there. Then they show up later, oblivious to your trying to chat with them prior. 7. Before canceling I checked and many emails had been sent "by me" that I know I did not send to "girls" -- girls I would never think of writing to based on religious preferences. 8. Some with nice sounding names had different pictures than they did before that were clearly different people. 9. Probably - I suspect that they keep your photos for their own use of them long after you are gone to use in their scam of real people who want someone in their life. Tomorrow I'm going to the bank to get a new debit card since they now have my card number, expiration date and security number on the back of the card! Save your money and go out and meet people on your own.

    10. I was frustrated with Match and thought I would try this one but this was much much worse. 11. In my opinion it is all run by a couple people and lots of computer servers that with better written software could fool most quite well. Total fake. Stay away from this one. I will never try one of these sites again. Makes me miss the old days of AOL chat rooms. At least those were real humans. There may be some real people there but not many. If there were as many subscribers as they want you to believe there should be much more traffic. 12. Fake 13. Fake 14. Fake.

On the plus side, at least I'll get a laugh every time I hear them run an ad on the radio or see them in a pop up ad on the internet. Try it as a free member if you want to see if I'm correct but at least use a distorted picture of yourself. If you do pay, get a prepaid card at the grocer check out at least. I suspect that the reason there is no phone help is because the three or four employees there speak heavily accented English on the other side of the planet. Best of luck to anyone who reads this. Hope I have helped anyone a bit that reads this.

I became a member of OurTime in June 2016. I'm 67 years old, slender, attractive, well educated and articulate. I have common, ordinary interests and hobbies. I'm not radical about anything. I think I'm an average retired, financially stable pretty lady. My beef: This site is matching me up with absolute losers. I've only meet one guy in all this time who's in reasonably good health. My profile says that that is important to me, but the sicker a guy is the more likely he'll contact me. I found a scammer (I didn't lose any money but wasted several weeks texting with him). One guy told me on the third date that if we continue to date and become involved that he expected me to give him control of my assets. No, really, I'm serious, that's what he actually said. I've been stood up twice for that first/introductory meeting.

There's an 82 year old who's profile says 74. Two guys (the only widowers I have actually meet so far) have claimed to be widowed for quite awhile, but in fact for only 6 months or less. These guys spend the entire date talking about the deceased wife. Then there are the ones who want to date, but the ex is still living in the home with him. Yep, two of those.

My profile says I like NPR, and one guy texted me that apparently I don't love my country. At least half the men I reach out to don't have the decency to respond in any way. A simple "You don't fish daily" or "I'm only interested in ladies with a Harley" or "You are too short for me, I prefer overweight blondes." I'd love it if they just said "Thanks for the flirt but I'm looking for...." No response at all is beyond rude, but it is the most common response. Everyone I've talked to with OurTime experience says this is their most common complaint. OurTime should find a way to monitor answered/unanswered flirts and texts and filter non-respondents to the bottom of visibility, or something.

The last straw for me... I had a (first meeting) lunch date today at 11:30. Mister Jerk, after not sleeping well, called me at 5:19 a.m. this morning to cancel. I'm serious, 5:19 a.m. He voicemailed later to say he'd still like to meet but not a single word of apology for waking me up that early. He had another six hours in which to have canceled the date and been somewhat thoughtful. I'm sure he didn't care about my sleep. Call me any time of day or night for an emergency, but to cancel a date??? Where in the ** do these jerks come from.

Trust me, I have been asking other women and found that no response at all is, by far the most common complaint, and the most common reason that women drop their subscription. OurTime, as an application, can't fix the pool of single older men in Idaho. If these Idaho guys wonder why they are alone, we ladies certainly don't. That's been my experience for the last 6 months - June 2016 to January 2017.

The way the app works isn't a bit useful either. There is very little sorting available. I would like to see the active men within 100 miles of my home and within +-5 years of my age. Almost all the views of my profile are from men in their 50's and living hundreds of miles away. A helpful sorting tool with the app would be to see only Christian/non-Christian or liberal/conservative or smokers/non-smokers or legally separated/ divorced/widowed, etc. Also how about showing only new members or lifetime losers. If a guy has been out there for a year or two, well that says a lot. Especially if they don't respond to friendly texts. This app simple throws everything at you. You must sort it out yourself and try to remember who fits your profile and who has already been rude, or ignored you, etc.

This has been absolutely the worst dating experience of my life. I haven't been in the dating world in 30 years. When I was 35 back then I was a hot little thing, and my self- esteem was good. Now, after six months of this crap, it's in the toilet. I'm very verbal with other ladies about staying away from OurTime and any other site like it in Idaho. I only wish I could shout from some mountain top or tall building, my frustration.

He was raising his 16 year old son and caring for his elderly mother (one hell of a guy!!). He gave me his TX cell phone # and an email address. Six months later, I discover he is an illegal Nigerian living in Malaysia. When I contacted Romance Scams.org & gave his info, they "immediately" identified him as a Nigerian scammer. (Pics & profile totally fake). Why doesn't the dating site have this capability? The site requests that I myself identify scammers and report it to them. They need to identify and protect me from these predators!!

The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reports that romance scams cost Americans more than $82 million in losses during the last six months of 2014. To combat such losses, specific anti-fraud measures need to be implemented by the dating site, such as: Employ algorithms to detect suspicious language patterns used by scammers. Search for fake profiles across multiple dating websites. Issue alerts to any member who has been in contact with someone using a fraudulent profile. Educate members with tips on how to avoid romance scammers. DATING SITES DON'T DO ENOUGH TO PROTECT MEMBERS FROM KNOWN SCAMMERS...

I've had it now for several months and still haven't had a face to face date. I've only communicated with two women on the site. The smartest way to deal with OurTime dot com is to use a virtual credit card number. You can set the maximum charge amount and also stop them from setting your account to automatically renew. At the very bottom of their newly-revised "contract" is this:

"You, the buyer, may cancel this agreement, without penalty or obligation, at any time prior to midnight of the original contract seller's third business day following the original date of this contract, excluding Sundays and holidays. To cancel this agreement, mail or deliver a signed and dated notice which states that you, the buyer, are canceling this agreement, or words of similar effect. This notice shall be sent to: People Media Inc, Attn: Cancellations, P.O. Box 12627, Dallas, TX 75225, USA. Please include your OurTime.com username and email address in any correspondence or your refund may be delayed. If you cancel, People Media Inc will return, within ten days of the date on which you give notice of cancellation, any payments you have made. If you send or deliver the notice to cancel your subscription agreement within such three day period, we will refund the full amount of your subscription."

I sent a registered letter to them before the end of the "buyers' remorse" period but they are still saying I am ineligible for a refund. Stay away... This site sucks. I have to update my previous review. The site had charged 111 dollars US to my PayPal act (3 months) when I thought I was just renewing for a month. There was no button to confirm what I was actually purchasing. I did succeed in contacting them (Peoplemedia, for those interested) by phone. The wait time was short and the agent was polite. He agreed to refund me 2 of the 3 months however he refused to refund the amount in full because I had sent one message. I replied that I'd just sent the message to a contact advising her that I was leaving the side, and had only used it for about a minute. I threatened to pursue them through PayPal.

At this point, there was a brief delay while the agent checked with a supervisor, and he got back to tell me that my money would be returned in full. This experience was OK, but I still would not recommend the dating site. I believe their main focus is NOT providing a service for lonely people, which should be something nice, but instead, the site is designed in such a way as to gouge the maximum amount of money out of you. BEWARE. But at least they will give you a refund if you pursue them.

    Original Review: Nov. 20, 2016

I had discontinued service. They sent me a message about someone contacting me and offered renewal. I renewed, thinking it was just for a month. $30... Immediately, without any confirmation button of what I was buying, they debited $111 US from my account. It's the weekend and I can't contact them. I think I may be able to resolve it but it's a pain in the neck. My experience with these guys is that their main motivation is to gouge money out of you rather than provide a good service, preying on lonely people. Find another dating site! Avoid these guys.

I joined last week and had to contact company as they put the one month subscription through as several months instead of just one. I was very hesitant to join but thought it time to try to find a friend or companion to do things with. I started getting flirts and emails right away but noticed that they all wanted my email address immediately before even trying to contact me through the site. The pictures of the gentlemen were nice and seemed professionally done but it was the wording in the messages that showed me that they were not writing the way they should have been. The same wording was used and they explained that their subscription was up and they couldn't renew so they wanted me to email them so "we could get to know together better"!

I am an editor by profession and a detective by nature so the red flags went up. I blocked and reported each and every one and immediately the message came on the screen saying that they were no longer available to receive emails! I also wrote "SCAMMER" in my response. This is so sad. Innocent senior folks are being taken advantage of this way. I hate to lose the $26.00 but will cancel my subscription immediately as I doubt that there is anyone on this site for me. I was on a different site three years ago and found that guys just want to "look" and not act... Seems a waste of money to me.

This is a scam!! They have taken money out of my account without permission. I will be going to my bank and reporting fraud and speaking to an attorney about filing a class action suit. Having read reviews from others, I believe there is a case for this.

Luckily I only paid for one month. Company has a long disclaimer form and hard to see refund policy, but can point to the appropriate location to find the "no refund policy. Members are allowed to continue the use of the site through its full term." Why would anyone want to continue with fake pictures, men lying about their age? Daily connections offered by the company show the same men everyday which shows low participation on the dating site. OurTime is affiliated with Match.com and the same men show up on Our Time. Better quality of men are shown when one is ready to cancel subscription. I believe the company holds back the better quality of men before the membership expires to keep you as a subscriber. Not only is it the above two dating sites mentioned, but many others. Just realize "free membership" has a catch.

OurTime.com has automatic renewals on your subscription to their service and states they match you with appropriate subscribers. However, like many others who have reviewed them, they spike your inbox with profiles when your subscription is close to ending or cancelled as a ploy to get you to renew. If you don't pay, you cannot contact anyone on the site. Once I renewed, they started sending profiles of people not even remotely close to my profile preferences...not close to the city I live in and as much as 25 years younger than the age range I stated as my preference.

They also send profiles of other women on their site when my profile stated "female seeking male." In my opinion, they are a fraudulent enterprise because they are not filtering the profiles they send to fit/match your stated preferences as they advertised. I am not getting the advertised service I am paying for with my subscription. I also believe they do not have the number of subscribers they advertised as the same profiles are constantly recycled into your inbox despite your marking them as not a match.

As a newly divorced woman from a 33 year marriage, I was not looking for another lifetime mate but a friend, companion, or just someone to talk to. Girlfriends and family are great but sometimes you just want to be held or cuddled. Again not a sex partner just friend. Well as time went by I met several nice men, had some 1 and only dates, and some dated several times. When I had responses I didn't care for and blocked those were respected. And the 2 names I turned in were handled immediately.

After just 6 short months, I did meet and fall in love with my now husband. We will be celebrating our second anniversary next week. So very blessed! I have some dating tips I would like to share to keep you safe. I'm not sure how to get that information out there. Thank you Jesus for your guidance to our time so I could live out the rest of my life that you have planned. I do want to say that sometimes God allows things to happen because we weren't moving forward. Let your faith guide you to the love of your life. I'm certainly glad I did!

I joined OurTime.com a year ago. After a short period of time I realized that some of the "potentials" didn't actually exist and 2 of them insulted me. My prescription was for 60 days and on my account page I said NO to automatic renewal (I have a copy of this page which includes payment history). Since my subscription ended after 60 days I thought that was that. However, I found out that every 3 months OurTime was charging me 69.00 for renewal even though it clearly indicated I said 'no' to automatic renewal. The reason I missed them is because I shop at a store with a similar name. I believe they charge your account every 3 months in the hopes that you will overlook it. Reading the many, many complaints about OurTime has me wondering why they are still in business. I told OurTime at their site customer service that I wanted a full refund but of course never heard back.

On September 9 they put a note in my payment history that I requested to "end automatic payments" when it was before I even contacted them so they made that up. I did turn over all of the information I have including my account page and copies of 25 complaints to our local police internet fraud division. I made sure that they knew that there were no end to the complaints. They are going to investigate OurTime.com

Without authorization, they charged my credit card $98.84. I confirmed with them my account to be closed 6 months ago. It caused my credit card to overdraft. **, I can barely make ends meet and then they ruin my credit. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. TERRIBLE, not trustworthy. Never went on one date. They are idiots!!!
