After app 5 months w/: Our Time.com.. When OurTime constantly "matched' me with other members who made home 75, 150 miles away when my profile limited 50 miles..and the age, religious status limits were ignored by OurTime... Suddenly my profile was hacked into with much older women living on the coasts starting thanking me for "liking them"....whereby I informed all that my profile was hacked and OurTime was informed...but weeks later nothing was done, even proposed with excuses especially were rampant. App 20 emails went back n forth to no avail.. Their phone # 833 223 8873 was answered by robot simply referring all to "customer service"... On top of all this they are playing games re canceling my subscription with auto pay collection of app $ 159.oo. My credit and Credit Card relationships are excellent.. So they will stop pay and file SCAMMER V OurTime.

I do not recommend! I regretted as soon as I did and was able to see what I had purchased. I contacted them the very next morning, no response. Again, a couple days later. Again, no response. What it cost, and then constantly having to add money, is horrible. Yes, you can cancel the subscription, but they will continue to charge the original amount.

Signing up is easy. Then the trouble begins. False likes, listings of subscribers who have not been paid up or active for months, constant "begs" for upgrades, and customer service that is totally inadequate. And to top it off, there is no way to communicate by phone- only back and forth emails which the customer service team doesn't read or is incapable of understanding. I suggest you keep your money in your pocket. This has been expensive lesson for me. Oh, and one more thing - there is no situation, regardless of how bad their service is, that will qualify you for a refund - even a prorated one!

Don’t ever cancel/not renew your membership— your profile remains visible. Ourtime will continue to contact you constantly re: suggestions or likes. If you are curious, the picture will be blurred out, no details about the “like” unless you sign up for another months long membership. Meanwhile, they’ve seen your profile. Don’t fall for this—- it’s shameful and wrong.

As others have mentioned, this site is horrible. They have fake profiles, there are women on there that are professional hookers, other women looking for Visas to the US, I had at least 10 women ask me for money and a place to live. Multiple women asked me for personal information. Many women on the site are still married. They AUTO charge your card for every mouse click and then it's $150 for a six month subscription and then women who don't pay CAN'T respond to your unless you PAY MORE. Horrible, horrible site.

Maybe this site works well for you if you live in NJ, CT, or PA, but I have to scroll through 50 profiles before one in LI or the city boroughs comes up. So if you live on LI, this is a waste of money (unless, of course, you’re fine with driving an hour and a half to two hours, for a date). Then, there are the 28 and 40 something year olds who try to engage with me; why are they even permitted to be on a site that specifically advertises for “over 50”? What a waste of money this was for me.

I joined Ourtime in good faith on July 1, 2024 for 3 months at $69. I started going back & forth with Ourtime customer support less than 24 hours later demanding a refund.
    1. The first issue was every time I wrote a woman, no matter what I wrote (always a compliment) their pop-up said: "Are you sure you to send that?" then it gave 3 choices to either delete my comment, edit my comment or send it.

    2. I had maybe 15 matches within 48 hours of joining & then there were no more. Tonight I put in a 500-mile radius = no matches.

I’m not sure why one can upload a short video of the issue here, but I have screen recordings of everything I say. On Google I usually leave great positive reviews. The match group are nothing short of criminals. One day they will rob the wrong person in this crazy world. All it takes is ONE CRAZY & with that said, I'm sure one day you’ll see the folks at our time with karma served. Each reply from my letters was fought tooth & nail by customer-care@support.ourtime.com saying it was me. It was my fault.

I tried no preferences to medium preferences & NO CHANGE! They absolutely refused to refund. There is a number to call, & you get an answering machine stating: "For a more personalized experience, you should email us." These people are THE BIGGEST SCUMBAGS! You’ll find as you age that most people with money are just greedy, not intelligent. Our time & match are the masters of greed. So I filed a consumer complaint under fraud with the Florida Attorney General's office like I did with eBay who refused me a $250 refund. But after filing my complaint, I was refunded.

First of all, they completely disregard your distance preferences and send matches that are hundreds of miles away. There are many scammers. They completely disregard, what you’re looking for. There is no live customer service. Once you leave, they will try to entice you back by saying they have new matches for you. If you want to use this service, take the one week subscription because you will see everyone that they have for you and after that, They are just trying to keep you hooked by sending you false hope messages. This is a terrible site with the constant micro transactions. Want to talk to Tammy? Just another $14 will get through to her. I hate this dating. Go to Silversingles, they are upfront there. As others have mentioned, automatic renewals will sneak up on you since you will become disenchanted with the site early and forget to cancel the subscription renewal. If you believe this won't happen to you, be ready to pay extra for any communication with a prospective match. You will end up paying top dollar to communicate. Customer service will offer a renewal discount "after the fact" when you call to complain...But don't fall for it. In short, all you get for your money is a chance to browse... And many of the offerings are dated and not really active individuals. Lastly, find a different and reputable dating site and start over. When trying to log in, my membership had been blocked also with no explanation. Then when I contacted them by email, got an automated reply saying there would be a real reply in 24 to 48 hours and that has still never happened almost a week later. Since no rules of theirs had been broken, the most likely explanation is that a person (divorced at least 4 times) I used to know who was on there badmouthed me to the site and had me banned for no reason. Since I was refunded, maybe it's not such a big deal but them blindly taking the word of one party against a person who broke no rules is disappointing and then never following up with an email to attempt an explanation is also pretty bogus.

No way to tell if someone is a paid member who can respond to your messages. This is so Our Time can offer to sell you access from unpaid members as an optional purchase. While accounts active in the last few days are clearly marked, there is no way to tell how long other accounts have been inactive. I saw some of the same inactive accounts that were there when I joined briefly three years ago. No attempt is made by Our Time to allow only identifiable photographs as primary photo. There are hundreds of people who post a primary picture of themselves wearing sunglasses, which is just dumb. Minimum signup is now for 3 months. The database is not granular enough in filtering. I spent hours and hours eliminating members with dogs. Pet preferences could not be filtered.

I only received one genuine response more than two sentences long and I had a very impressive Summary (not saying I'm particularly handsome). Again and again, Our Time "Discovered" people who were hundreds of miles outside my designated search radius. If you do not block and "hide from search" every unsuitable "match" as they are offered, they will be presented to you again and again. The whole site is, of course, designed to generate revenue. Inactive accounts inflate the apparent pool of matches. You are continually urged to pay for "Boosts" to give your profile a higher position in the search results of others. Think about it. I live in an area with a relatively small number of members. My searches were coming back with four or five hits per week. Why should I pay to be put at the top of a list of 5 people?

I do not mind that there are few compatible people in my area. What I do mind is having to wade through hundreds of unsuitable "Discovered" profiles because, as I mentioned, if I do not at least block and "hide from search" they will be presented randomly as future Discoveries to give the sense of a larger member pool. I gave it my best effort for three months. I looked at every profile offered, which took a couple of hours each week. I sent messages to likely members and got only one reply. It became a major CHORE. If you live in a major metropolitan area or are free to flit about the country "looking for love", it might work for you. This is my second try with Our Time - nothing has changed.

I am a very new user, so I downloaded the app to my cell, same thing "you have been blocked by ourtime" WITH no explanation and after all the work and TIME I put! Then..... I start learning..... No human beings to talk to! Are you serious! No human beings??? This is what makes AMAZON what it is, billions of users and always, always someone answering the phone. I sent several emails, then after a while I got a response from some guy he said is called Ian saying, "I do not know what your problem is, I forwarded your message to another "department"." Yes probably to the bathroom.... I never heard anything else ever again, I wonder why they have only few subscribers (for the planet of course) companies like this make this country terrible, they should not exist. These are people using AI to make it look like they speak English and are interested in a relationship. There is a line that you can use to ”express a concern”, regarding a profile, but it doesn’t seem to work. BEWARE! These people are very good at what they do. And it appears that they are being coached.

On OurTime, common sense flies out the window. So don’t assume that only one profile per user is allowed. Nope, you can have multiple profiles albeit with the different email addresses. Perfectly legal and confirmed with the Customer Service. And if this isn’t enough, some multiple users share the same user ID. I have a habit of bookmarking profiles and then looking them up later and make a choice. Nope, not possible with OurTime. I bookmark one, then try to bookmark another, and boom two supposedly different users have the same user ID. I personally don’t think that the numbers are recycled. More likely some if not all of them are FAKE in my humble opinion.

Apparently OurTime being hungry for more members, are plain creating new ones out of thin air, that’s what I’m thinking. I took a few screenshots of what I’ve found but am not sure how to post them there. (No photos for privacy.) Of course scammers and/or liars are abundant. This is not unique for the OurTime, but you have to be vigilant and research your contact by the phone number. If it’s a voip number (created on an app), stay away. If not, you still can research their identity by the phone number. It takes time but is well worth it. And it can be done free. I researched one member who contacted me, and found out that he lied about his age, and no telling about what else. I didn’t pay a penny for this.

I was a user of Ourtime.com for a substantial amount of time (on and off). At the beginning there was a serious problem of phony (spam) profiles and I would spend a good amount of time blocking these. Our Time did improve security somewhat with 2-step verification, however spam profiles still made their way into the system. However I could deal with that issue. What eventually threw me off is the ineptitude of the staff to solve what should have been a simple problem of my login not working. It was never fixed in weeks, and if you try their "customer service" number, 866-727-8920, it is terminally busy and apparently out of order. So forget about receiving any help for what you pay to use the system.

I won’t call it an utter scam but the price is too much for what is available. So what do they offer you for real after you take enough time to set up your profile and upload pictures? Tons of fake profiles, computer-generated messages and auto renewal for 3 months - it does not matter if you untick this option. Most of the prospects that seem more or less real either live 500 miles away or haven’t been online for months. So that’s why I’m telling you Ourtime is a waste of time!

After 2 days and not hearing from them, I called again and was told that I was cancelled for not following the guidelines. I told the man that it must be a mistake because I had not done anything wrong. I asked what it was that caused this and he said he couldn't tell me. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused to give me a name or number, but after a while he finally said he would see if he could get someone to talk to me. After being on hold for 30 minutes I finally hung up. It was clear that no one was going to talk to me. If I could give zero stars I would. I did the free trial for 3 weeks before deciding to pay for a subscription. Once I had my paid subscription I quickly discovered that the vast majority of profiles are either scams, old members no longer on the site, or non paid "members" that you cannot interact with; you cannot message or contact them to indicate your interest and they cannot contact you except by upgrading and paying to allow you (unpaid subscriber) to respond. People media is completely aware of this and in fact has designed the site so that it appears that they have lots of active potential partners. Also, please note that when you agree to become a member that they accept NO responsibility for the content or veracity of the profiles; it is to their advantage to have as many profiles as possible so that it appears that you will have a robust experience.

In 6 days of site usage, I interacted back and forth with 1 legitimate person who I have now had lunch with yesterday. This is despite me sending out about 10-12 messages without a SINGLE reply from what appeared to be legitimate people with potentially legitimate profiles; and I am a widowed physician who is 5ft 11 inches and weighs 160 lbs. and had 3 nice photos on the site, (1 with my 2 cats and dog all resting on the couch with me). Here are other specific examples of how bad this site is:

    1) Everyday you receive 8 "matches" sent to you from OurTime (whether you have a non interactive unpaid subscription or a paid subscription); these are for you to review and "accept" or "pass". One profile and photo was very interesting to me so I messaged her with my interest without any reply. The problem is that this profile never showed up on a single self directed search of mine (either before or after I paid) despite that she supposedly lives 10-20 miles away from me; I probably ran 40 searches and even put in the 2 zip codes associated with the Charlotte suburb where she supposedly lives and not once did her profile appear in my search. While this might be explained by the fact that she was a non paying member I received an indication from the website that she opened my message (nonpaying members can not even see that a message was sent to them).

    2) The site has a feature that says when you are "online now". I coordinated with a women friend also with a paid membership and would see my profile as "online now" when I wasn't online (we were talking on the phone).

    3) My women's friend profile/photo shows up with 2 different photos of her so that her one membership appears as 2 different people; not her doing; PeopleMedia did that.

    4) I typed out and sent a 1 paragraph message to a women who was supposedly online with a lot of detail about my interest in her profile; what was sent to her (I reviewed on the sent message feature) was a request from me for her to use the "Chat Now feature" which would require more $ from each of us; NONE of the content of my typed paragraph was visible in sent message.

    5) MANY of the messages one receives on this site are women(? can't be sure) asking you to ask for their photo (I never responded to these but they clearly would ask for your phone number and then do something harmful with it) or people who have their phone # "disguised" in the body of their profile text to again bait you to interact with with them off the website so that they have access to your mobile #.

Bottomline this site could easily be self policed by People Media to quickly get all the riff raff off the website but then they would be left with very few real members who are on the site for the stated purpose off finding a potential "partner". They don't want to self police; they only want to take your money and lock you into a relatively worthless subscription and menu of extra features that will waste even more of your time and money. You will be better off standing on a street corner with a sign that says "I want to meet you".

Equally in this case, despite the site being 'free' to join, it is necessary to subscribe to be able to see to what you are being asked to respond. e.g. "Jackie likes you - send her a message". On each occasion that I sought to do that it was clear that I would be given no idea as to who or what I might have been messaging until I had parted with my subscription. I don't want to waste anyone's time - that of the potential recipient or of mine. Equally annoying was that I could not find and route to a 'help' opportunity. There is not enough characters for information on your profile. I thought going to a site that specializes in my age group would be great. It was not. If they could update their system, offer more options (such as exclusions) and a radius it could be better. Until they offer more options there will not be enough people to be matched to. No wonder when you find someone “of interest” and start communicating with them, you scratch your head when they suddenly stop responding. I smell a rat!

If a blue collar, bearded with a gut, man is what you are looking for....there are too many to count. The number of professional and well-groomed men are in the single digits. OurTime has preset greetings so no one has to take any time to think of what to write. I may have received a half dozen original messages. Finally, there are pop-ups so when I want to move on to another profile I first have to click (for a no). Thank goodness, I only paid for one month.

This is a sad excuse for online dating, an extension of Match.com. I signed up for a free membership. Immediately I started getting hammered by messages from other users, to which I couldn't read or respond to. So I signed up for one month. I answered most of the messages to where I received no further response. There were three that did respond and turned out to be scammers that immediately wanted my email address and did not live in the places they claimed. Same profiles. I reported it. I also asked the question about unanswered messages.

It is near impossible to reach anyone in customer support. Their response is in the FAQ's you which they stated that it could possibly be that these senders don't read their messages often (why do they send them?) to which they offer message confirmation at an additional cost. They also state that senders may not be paid subscribers. Then how are they able to send them as I was not able to as an unpaid subscriber?

I went to my settings and selected "no" for auto renew so I wouldn't be charged for an additional month. Immediately, even though my account is paid until the end of the month and active, the messages stopped. In addition, I still receive messages that someone has sent me a message or a flirt, but when I sign on they are not in my inbox. And when you question it, you do not receive a response. After sending an email to customer service, the activity has stopped completely...only 10 days after signing up. I believe they have blocked my account.

Here's what I believe: Ourtime has their own dummy accounts that their employees send to unpaid members to get them to sign up. They allow certain free members the ability to send messages--otherwise everyone would have to be a paid member. Once they get the idea that you are questioning their business practice, you are blackballed. This is NOT a good company to do business with.

I am a senior caregiver and not everyone I work with are invalids. In fact many are still quite functioning adults who are still a mostly productive member in society. Such is the case with my current employer. She only needs a little help and is very much in her right mind. She is in her early 70s and is still quite attractive and has a desire to date once again. She has tried a few sites and decided to trust this site because of who they are supposed to cater to. What we have learned is this is a double edge sword because this site also attracts many scammers that prey on vulnerable adults who are lonely and are merely looking for someone whom they can spend their remaining days on earth with.

My employer fell victim to this type of scammer because they said just what she was wanting and needing to hear from them. They post a handsome picture and in this case several handsome pics of who they are supposed to be and then once they establish a rapport with them they begin. They don’t make themselves sound poor, but in fact very rich, or about to be. Beware of people, both male and female who (supposedly) live within a few states from you, are originally from another country and whose English is very broken when speaking on the phone and sometimes even in their texts and other types of messaging, although their written English is Usually better than spoken grammar. THEY CLAIM TO BE SOME TYPE OF ENGINEER AND THEY LAND A CONTRACT THAT WILL BE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. While they are there, they usually hit some stroke or streak of bad luck.

This last one needed money for supplies and also needed a way to purchase iPads and iPhones for he and his supposed son. THIS IS AFTER THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TALKING LOVE LANGUAGE FOR A MONTH OR TWO AND GETTING IN THEIR HEARTS AND HEAD! They use any tactics that will appeal to your heart strings! They’re usually a widower or widowed and have young adult children (if you like children). They sometimes claim they don't need your money/ they just need you to accept a transfer or a check FROM The company who they’re doing the work for and you to send it to them through certified funds. Usually a cashier's check. In fact, They will use any means of accepting the money by which YOU feel comfortable and confident that it’s safe.

This last one needed to receive the money for supplies and then for her to send the wired money to them because he needed to be able to pay his workers and hurry up to get the job finished so he could come home to his new soon to be bride! Why couldn’t the company JUST send it to the scammers personally? Well it just so happened to be that they “froze” all of their accounts when they left the country to keep them safe! HELLO!! NO PRUDENT BUSINESS PERSON WILL LEAVE THE COUNTRY FOR A JOB WITHOUT A WAY TO BE PAID OR A WAY TO BUY SUPPLIES!

And let me explain how this happens with the wire transfers: they transferred the money to my boss (over $25,000) and needed her to go to her bank get a cashier's check and go deposit it into another bank account with another bank. This is where I stopped my boss because I had to drive her and the last time this happened she took an Uber ride. That was to drop off iPhones to somewhere in Egypt. I told her before she did this to just simply talk to the branch manager and ask them to check to see if the transfer was legitimate and they would know or could find out. Thank God she trusted me enough to at least do this. We were enlightened to say the least!

The branch manager was able to PRINT OFF THE DETAILS OF THE WIRE TRANSFER. It shows it's from the trusted company but it also shows that the transfer has your bank account as where it will be deposited, however you aren't the beneficiary of this transfer. In fact it was supposed to be going to another company we had never heard of. So even though the deposit posted to her account, when the other company that was supposed to receive this money didn’t receive it, they would’ve done the research and then discovered the truth which then it would’ve been deducted back from my boss’s bank account. By this time the money would’ve been long gone and she would’ve been responsible to pay it back. THIS HAPPENS A LOT!

With mobile banking, you don’t see the paper trail, just the end result which is a deposit. This is why the scammers are in such a hurry! They know they normally have just a short time before the wire fraud is discovered. But they lead you to believing people wont get paid, supplies wont be able to be purchased and they cant hurry up and get home to you!! Let me repeat myself to hopefully save you much more heartache and embarrassment and possible ruined real relationships (such as with your family who try to help look out for you) and especially your life savings...

No business person will ever leave the country without a way to pay their workers or a way to purchase supplies or replace lost or stolen iphones, ipads etc, etc. If you have never met someone in real life then for god sakes don't give a stranger what you've worked your entire life to build! Don't risk being in trouble with the federal government because of bank fraud, because you become a participant in the fraud the minute you touch one penny of that money! AND FOR GOD SAKES IF THEY SAY "TRUST ME", DON'T TRUST THEM! Better yet, just don’t give these people the time of day. If you can’t understand their English or you aren’t multilingual, chances are you won’t be able to communicate with them effectively to begin with. And that’s a must for a good relationship.

Secondly, if you must date online, let someone you trust to know about your plans. And remember if your family starts condemning someone you’re getting involved with online, before you ruin that relationship or have to eat crow to restore it, just hear them out and perhaps allow them to help you research this person (that you’ve never met). I promise you they don’t want you to be lonely or unhappy. They just want you to find a real life person who is in the market to date and who happens to have same interests as you do, which in my opinion, is the same thing you’re looking for! And as for my review of this website, Sadly they don't monitor for scammers anywhere near enough and they need to have a full time staff online at all times to help keep the senior community safe. I AM A CAREGIVER AND IT BREAKS MY HEART TO SEE WHAT THIS DOES TO SENIORS ONCE THEY REALIZE THEY’RE BEING SCAMMED.

So do your own monitoring and use good judgement ESPECIALLY after you’ve been messaging with them a little while. They’re doing this to several others at the same time as they’re talking to you. They have other profiles (which is very difficult to uncover exactly which ones). And sadly, even banks aren’t trying to catch these scammers. My boss’s bank simply closed her bank account after she paid her rent with some of the money/ however since the majority of it was still there they didn’t press charges they just returned what was left to the original company. They did nothing to try to catch the scammers even though we have several account numbers and names where these things were going to be deposited or shipped off to. I do understand it’s very difficult but until it gets easier to catch them and stop them then it will be up to The person dating to do their due diligence in protecting themselves.

Never sending one penny to someone no matter their cries especially without speaking to someone else you trust first! Getting their opinion or help with it may be a little frustrating in the beginning but you must realize what you stand to lose and realize You stand to lose way too much! And for Ourtime.com, START MONITORING THESE ACCOUNTS AND SHUT DOWN THESE SCAMMERS! I bet you’d have lots more money in the end and much better reviews!

This is a "fake site" in that they DO NOTHING to match you with anyone. I was immediately bombarded with so=called "matches" of women in their 50's, 60's and 70's of all races. The purpose of any dating match service is to do that screening for you, but this site DOES NOT DO THAT.

In answering the three primary "personality" questions you are limited to 200 characters (NOT 200 words), and you're typing this in a tiny little box that's a half inch high by one inch wide. It's so small that you can barely read your words, and then you can only see about ten words, so it's hardly designed for you to compose complete sentences in constructing a comprehensible paragraph. It's inconceivable that they would do this and it demonstrates how they DO NOT have any intention of matching you with anybody. You're just thrown in the ring with everyone else and you end up deleting 9 out of 10 "matches" immediately. PURE TRASH, I SUGGEST TO ALL TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. >>> ZERO STARS - NOT ONE. <<<

I am posting a review in hopes someone else does not make the same mistakes as I. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING. You will be paying for. Inability to opt out of Ourtime sending you matches. This request will be ignored. After you see the matches you are sent. You may not want their suggestions AT ALL! The majority of your matches will be hundreds of miles away. You will get 30 "matches" a day, most of which will neither be within your distance range

or your match parameters. No matter how you try to change it, it will not be changed by Ourtime.

Anytime you change screens you will be prompted to buy something. An upgrade, promotional tokens or whatever. There is no way to limit or stop the prompts. There are no time stamps on contacts. You will not be able to tell at what time you were contacted. You will get only a faded out date stamp you will have to hunt for. You are not allowed enough characters to fully describe yourself or what you are looking for. AND YOU PAY FOR THIS???? You will be paying to be SCAMMED.. As LOTS of those hundreds of "matches" are indeed scammers. Ourtime does nothing to curb scammers. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. So be aware and be wary.

In an attempt to show you on-line at all times, the logout is tiny, small and hidden. Find it on your home page, down at the bottom right. Tiny, barely touchable on a cell phone. Ourtime goes above and beyond at not providing you service you ask for, need and want. In closing if you don't mind paying for things you can't use, change or want then maybe it's for you. I suggest POF where you get many things for free you won't get on Ourtime. Just be aware that POF is full of bottom feeders and frauds.

After joining, I discovered that there are scammers on this site, so it's really "user beware". I was drawn in to respond to someone who looked like a very nice match for me only to find that this person was a "ghost" created by some scamming center in Michigan. I discovered this when, after e-mailing back and forth for two months then encouraging the gentleman to meet me in a public setting, he would not agree to do so. So, ladies, beware and don't reveal too much until someone is willing to meet you in a safe place. But I think there are other legitimate people on this site and I will keep trying.

    Updated review: Nov. 16, 2019

OurTime.com did not renew or charge my account when membership ended. OurTime is better than other sites. It is the type of people on sites that make it better or worse for all. If owners don't manage complaints site can be made up mostly of scammers, disingenuous people, opportunists. Site owners should be more accountable and put a banner on top of their site of their own mission statement and what they will allow vs not allow. Why not go back to honest date sites? Online dating is not for me.

    Original Review: Nov. 14, 2019

I signed up with OurTime.com dating service. Decided to sign up for a 1 month trial period only. Glad I signed up for a lesser period of time. To make certain I did not get charged past 30 day subscription. I put a reminder on cell phone calendar before expiration. Sent OurTime.com HELP a message not to renew my account after 39 days. I also followed steps to cancel my account exactly per instructions on site. Yesterday 11/13/19 was my 1 month expiration. Noticed the thing that other person stated. Evening time I logged on but had subscription choices to be able to renew. Then almost non-stop, kept getting one message after another. As well as multiple flirts. I told my daughter, it seemed suspicious. Now that my subscription has expired. I get multiple messages that night.

In all fairness to OurTime, I had messaged someone back on site on 11/13/19 multiple times. Maybe he was one of the messengers? But To me, it was like the exact time of evening my account expired. Then I kept getting pinged on my phone one message after another. It is a natural curiosity to want to know what someone has written to me. Yet, I am trying to save money, not waste it. I did not get people contacting me on site who wanted to date. A lot of pictures of older bearded mountain men. Lol. And I live in So Cal. A lot of faded pictures. To me signify scammers who steal other people's pictures and post on various sites. Any of the decent profiles, the guys did not respond or seemed too preoccupied and busy. One guy I did meet, he was divorced with joint custody of 4 kids. Plus he worked odd hours. Seemed like he just had intentions for a short term or hookups. He had been on site for a long period. What does that tell you?

I have been on different dating apps to try them out. To be honest OurTime.com and Zoosk.com were better than most. POF was highest volume, but horrible with amount of scammers and players or people just wanting hookups. Most people on dating sites are opportunists. Looking for what they can get. I decided to take myself off, join Meetup.com social groups I am interested in. Or meet someone when I am out and about in my daily activities or go back to local larger church, start getting involved in church groups. In this way, see people in person, people are local, they attend weekly. Online dating is a huge waste of time, it may seem easier because you can go online, but it is totally exhausting. To have to weed through multiple profiles, scammers. A very small percentage are legitimate. A lot of disappointments. Most people do not take online dating seriously.

When you fill out your profile you probably get flirts. If you get 1 flirt your profile will say you have 2 messages in your inbox, because a flirt is counted as a flirt and a message. So if you fill out a profile and not pay for a membership because you want to look around and get 4 flirts your inbox will say 8 messages to lure you in. If you like someone's photo it is a flirt that their program decides what it says, example "you look like someone I would like to get to know." When I originally joined they had how long it's been since a certain member has been on. They don't do that anymore so you might find members you like but they might not have been on for months. I used that for a reason I quit them. I was getting maybe 6-10 views a week, all of sudden since I told them 2 days ago I wasn't renewing I have had 52 as I type this?

Their security is a joke, you have to do this picture identification thing to log in but that doesn't stop scammers from stealing your profile or having their pictures with some phone number on it probably for an escort service. Stopping your auto renewal is a seek and find mission as it's hidden under my account/account status / changes /more changes.

A friend convinced me that I should try online dating. I am a college educated, independent professional that works a lot and I admittedly was neglecting my personal life. I signed up but was immediately prompted to pay in order to actually access anything about anyone on the site. There were limited options, no special price for a one week trial or any type of "try us and see" special. I selected a 6 month plan because 1 month was ridiculously expensive. I knew within the first day that I had just poured $103 down the drain. The supposed "matched" they emailed me were nothing short of frightening. Some of the photos actually looked like mug shots of mountain men that had gotten arrested after a drunken brawl at a bar. Looks are not everything but seriously...these men were not even remotely appropriate matches for a reasonably attractive, active professional female.

I got several scary messages, creepy "flirts" and one seemingly legitimate message that I answered kindly and never heard a word from. The same matches appeared over and over, despite my stating I was not interested. I set up preferences of age from 55-62 but was being sent matches that were 70 year olds. I cancelled the service and removed my profile in less than a week. The whole experience was like a bad dream. I submitted a dispute through PayPal in an attempt to get a refund but I don't hold out much hope. Avoid this site at all costs. It's a complete scam and this company should be investigated. Sadly, there are likely some poor souls that think is could work. I would rather spend the rest of my life alone on an island than subject myself to this.

You've already read the negative reviews here and yes, they are generally on the money. I joined with the reasonable expectation to meet a woman, not a harem, just one or two attractive charmers. If you're thinking of joining here are some of my suggestions/observations:

    1. You will receive 10 matches per day. Few will meet the criteria you have specified. That will increase to 30 at some point. Just more of the same.

    2. You will recognize the fake profiles and there are lots. Generally a generic or "no answer" profile or some nonsense about contacting them outside of the website. Just delete those likes and block/report the profile.

    2. The website allows you to search for a connection but only by pre-set age range. That is useless of course and delivers connections miles outside of your preference. You'll have to do your own hunting...

    3. You will find that the website shows you have viewed a profile even though you did not intend to do so. Don't ask me how this happens but it does.

    4. The main screen is 25% ads so pictures are too small and difficult to determine if you want to click and learn more about the profile. Not senior friendly.

    5. You will pay with your credit card and your membership will be auto-renewed so you'll have to be prepared to cancel your card before that happens.

    6. At the end of your subscription the website will falsely identify you as a "new member" to others. You will then be flooded (20+) per day of views from faceless profiles. These views, I think, are generated by OurTime and meant to coerce you into signing up again. Look at all the people interested in you!

I did connect with several women whom I like and after all it only takes one to make the subscription worthwhile. Keep your expectations low and your dukes up.. You'll do fine.

Based upon my experience, I don't see how OurTime could have a cumulative score higher than one star. For those who don't want to read a lengthy review, I'll summarize first and then amplify, if you care to read on: OurTime allows communication only between paying subscribers. OurTime has a very small pool of active members, and of this small number, only a pathetically tiny proportion are active paying subscribers with whom a paying subscriber can communicate.

I am a male, who lives about fifty miles from Philadelphia in Southeastern PA, looking for a lady. I have been an active subscriber for the past ten weeks as I write this. Whenever I log in, I arrange the profiles by activity; in other words, those most recently logged in appear on the first page. When I do this, I find that only those profiles on the first two, two-and-a-half pages move around.... between forty and fifty. Profiles beyond that almost never move, never advance to the first page, which indicates that those ladies are not logging in. If they were, they would move closer to the front.

Even worse, only a tiny, tiny proportion of those whose profiles appear on the site are reachable, paying subscribers. I paid an extra fee for a service that tells me when a message is read. I sent thirty-one messages, and only three women actually opened and read their messages. Of the three, two responded to establish communication with me.

THREE out of THIRTY-ONE! LESS THAN 10%! Perhaps you disagree, but to my way of thinking, when someone gets a message, no matter how grotesque the photo of the sender, no matter how poor the sender's profile, the recipient is going to open and read the letter, just out of curiosity or just for a few laughs. Three women reading a slew of thirty-one messages tells me that only a tiny percentage of those who posted profiles took the next step and paid to join.

I like to think that, since two of the three who read my messages replied, and both went on dates with me, I am not that ugly an ogre, but you can look at that three out of thirty-one statistic any way you choose. One final note, one of the women that I dated said that when her subscription expires she will not renew, because no one ever responded to her messages, so it seems to that OurTime works about as well for ladies as it does for men.
