You have to subscribe to Ourtime.com to read messages sent to you. Luckily, I only paid $40 for 6 months. This dating site is no better than pof.com, which is free unless you want to upgrade. Ourtime.com is supposed to be for 50+ singles, yet I was receiving messages from 20 somethings. Obviously, they don't screen their clients. I was also sent messages from scammers. To top it off, my account was hacked. I called customer service only to be told since I used their dating site, I can't receive a partial refund. She reinstated my original profile and pictures. Currently the pictures are of me, but the profile has changed back to what the hacker wrote. Please don't waste your money on Ourtime.com. It isn't worth it!

Recently I’ve become a victim of a scammer on this site. As Bonnie has stated on the ConsumerAffairs website, I have also received messages from women, old men with no shirt no teeth, men who look inebriated or high on drugs (?) as well as fake pictures. I received the almost same exact message from 2 men, with only a change in which they were born. RED FLAG! The one I chose to respond to communicated that we should exchange email to communicate off the site. We did. The next thing I knew he was planning our life together, the same thing Bonnie alluded to in her post. At one point I discussed speaking with him on the phone to set-up a time to meet in person. I wanted to know he was real. He originally provided his number and I responded likewise. Chris, if that his real name (?) kept ignoring this request. Another RED FLAG!

After an email of a really bad day, I decided to call the number he provided. I don’t think he knew who was calling him. His voice sounded very young for a 71 year old. He then proceeded to tell me he was at work even though it was only 6am his time. He originally stated he worked 8:30a-5-5:30p. Caught in a lie? At this point my friends and I went to Google, obits, public records and guess what? No info on Chris or his wife who died in a car crash 6 years ago. And so I sent an email bidding Chris adieu. Obviously, he had no idea what this meant. He then proceeded to email with a plea for money. Really? So, WARNING... This site is a scammer paradise. And as Bonnie described in her review “I can only describe this site as looking at a prison line up. Good point Bonnie. Save your money, your time, and your mind as there is NOTHING REAL on this site. Hopefully, ConsumerAffairs can address the issues quite a few of us have now notified them of.

I first signed up for free, very soon I had about 15 messages which I couldn't read until I paid so I did. These were from webcam models 30 years my junior doing some "catfishing". Later a lot of messages being sent were accidental including 12 I sent without knowing it. All have the phrases "You look like someone I'd like to know" or "You deserve a flirt." "I'd love to hear from you". Well you get the idea, you click the wrong place and you've sent a message or flirt without your knowledge. There are good people on OurTime, but the site itself is a joke and ripoff in my opinion.

One was about 150 lbs heavier than his pic the next was planning my life before I met him in person. It was just a nightmare, if you’re thinking this is an upstanding site cause it’s for older people don’t be fooled. For men if you don’t mind younger women that come on the site cause they need money and will play you, and most fall for it have at it... I can only describe this site as looking at a prison line up!!! Trust me when I say that, if you see a nice looking guy on the site it’s probably a scammer... save your money. I have been on our time for more than a year. I would guess I'm lucky because 80% of contacts have been real. But that might be my achilles heel. My problem has been more with the quality of men I have met and dated men with moderate to severe mental health issues. I even had to beg OurTime to take steps to consider removing one after proof. Some of these men could actually be a danger. What I'm looking for is to spread the word about some of these very challenged men so women don't waste their time and possibly heart on some of these guys.

My most recent nut no showed twice and then called me a stalker. We didn't speak until 3 weeks later when all of a sudden he had to meet me. He began his initial introduction on OurTime with he just wanted to meet a woman his age that still wanted to be intimate. Yet twice he wanted to break off talking because he'd never please me due to ED. Eventually met. AWESOME first date. Next day break up. Yep you guessed it... ED fears. I invested a lot of time and patience into this man. I think there should be a place to let someone else know his name at least first and where he lives. The guy is a fearful nut. It's just been guy after guy like this. And those who say the same picture floats through continuously are correct.

I came onto the site with honesty and openness rarely afforded to anyone. I had all good intentions. Except I was the only one with good intentions. There was one that wanted a "casual" relationship (if I knew what that meant), another wanted over $8,000 so he could payoff the SEC in a money laundering/tax evasion suit, another wanted me to send him $100-$200 so he could buy gift cards to get himself around China. And, of course, both said they would pay me back. And one of my personal favorites was the one that had the photo of himself, shirtless, with a bit in his mouth admitting that he was "submissive". Further, very few of the "Today's Matches", followed my profile. Very, very frustrating. I have requested a refund. Let's see how that goes.

I finally did some digging and could not confirm the details he was stating and discredited the ones that he did. Fortunately, I have family in the military and they were able to help me with this. The site needs to have a better vetting policy in order to have legitimate individuals interested in meeting. This was my only time and will be my last.

Please don’t waste your money or your time on “OurTime”. This is absolutely the worst ‘dating’ site I have ever encountered. I carefully and specifically put what I am and am not looking for. I receive messages and ‘matches’ from the very people I’m definitely not looking for. I’m not looking for a woman. I receive ‘matches’ for women. I have no interest in atheists; I get matched with atheists. I not only don’t smoke, it makes me physically sick to be around people who do. I get matched with smokers. There are ‘auto responses’, for lazy men who don’t want to take the time to write an actual message themselves. I’ve gotten hundreds saying, “Nice profile, would like to know you”, or “Nice picture, you stand out from the crowd.”

The few messages that have been actually typed out are from men who sound like they’ve made a career of hooking up on these sites. One man wrote, “Looking for that last first date, kiss. Ethereal oneness. The culmination of emotional and sensory overload.“ This was a FIRST message! Gross! I’m angry with myself for spending $33 for one month. I’m thankful that’s all I spent. “OurTime” will never get another cent out of me.

I don't like the fact that OurTime will tell someone you found them interesting, when you did not. I have received quite a few messages from guys thanking me for showing an interest in them, or that I said I liked their photo! Then I see my photo and a note in a bubble saying "I am interested in you", "Let's chat" or something to that effect. So, it seems if you just look at a photo or maybe read a bit of the profile out of curiosity, it will tell the person you are interested in him or her. I feel this is deceiving to the man or woman, as to possibly get their hopes up, when there is no interest at all. I did not see this in the rules, so I'll just have to try to be as careful as possible and wait it out until my account expires.

Of course, with a free account you are not able to see who it was. One has to subscribe in order to see this info. This was going on throughout most of the night. This morning I logged back in and discovered in the "Notification" field (on the bottom of the main site) that somebody had sent a answer to my message.

This was rather confusing to me since as unpaid member I was not able to send any messages. This clearly means that somebody sent out a message in my name without my consent. I found this highly disturbing and immediately deleted my account. But what OurTime does not tell you is that you cannot not state that you are unable to immediately respond to messages FOR ANY REASON. For example, you cannot say the following... "I won't be logging on for a few weeks, because I have some personal issues that I need to take of, but I promise to get back with you." If you say something like that (or anything remotely similar), your essay will get declined.

Just signed up for OurTime after having a free account for a couple of months that I did not use. It seemed like a safe site and connected to Match.com which I think has a fairly good reputation overall. Decided to add photos to my profile on the free account but when I did, the photos were tagged as pending for 2 days in a row. On 3rd day when I tried to log in, my account was not accessible so I called the customer service number given on the message displayed. The CS rep was pleasant and tried to retrieve my account but after searching several ways, she could not find any evidence of an account being set up. She suggested I start over with new account. I did and decided to give it a shot and try the paid subscription. Immediately I began getting "flirts", photo likes and some weird messages... many from out of state.

I then discovered the site had sent out a whole bunch of photo "likes" and posed questions from my account to other members without my consent. Of course, I was horrified! The site sent multiple communications to some members making me look like a stalker! I've now read here that other members have experienced the same. I also read about the automatic renewal issue and have gone in and disabled this feature and will watch my credit card. It's been 2 days and the site seems pretty scary. I've definitely seen strange profiles that seem to be fake with exactly the same "in a nutshell" wording but with different photos and cities. After reading some of the reviews here, I am considering just deleting my profile.

I joined Match.com years ago. I was only on that site for about a week before beginning a long term relationship with someone I met on the site. Match experience was a bit overwhelming but seemed more reputable than this offshoot. I guess I'll give it a week and see what happens. I'm sure there must be some normal people on the site - or maybe they all get quickly disgusted with it and get off? I'm very hesitant to communicate with anyone on the site after reading about some of the scams and fake profiles others have experienced. I guess best advice to other women joining the site is "beware and be safe".

I've been on other dating sites and like Match.com this site is VERY SPAMMY and many people aren't who they see. Here are guidelines that I live by on dating sites:

    1. Don't reply to any profile without a picture. 2. Don't give out your email/phone etc unless you've had a few exchanges with the person. 3. Unless you're considering a long distance relationship, block or ignore those who contact you beyond your city/state. Chances are, the people aren't real. 4. Ask questions and if they don't get you answers that satisfy you break off contact/block the person from contacting you again. 5. In the text of profile look for inconsistencies and evidence of broken English. 6. Prefer to be lonely/disappointed rather than to be lonely/disappointed/broke/identity compromised. 7. Use this site as ONLY one part of your social program and include meetup groups, volunteer work, time with family friends.

I've read many of the reviews, and from my own experience, I think this site engages in some questionable/unethical practices. While it is important to remember, like offline dating, this requires effort, good judgment and a sense of humor, at times, there are some real problems OT introduces into the brave world of dating over 50:

Fake messages ARE generated from your account and sent to other members who you did not screen/select. This serves to flatter you and retain members because you are getting messages, photo "likes" and "flirts" from these members in return. Often, you have nothing in common. You will recognize these by the subject line which will read "ECHO:" And most of them will come from states well outside of your "radius."

Fake profiles are rampant. These are easy to spot because the photo looks like a professionally taken portrait in many cases and the profile will be sparse and generic. These are for appearance to encourage users and likely many set up by non-members - who knows why. Scammers do fish in these waters. This is just common sense... Do NOT provide your email, address or phone number right off the bat. If you do provide an email early in the getting acquainted process - create a separate email account for this purpose that does not include your first/last name. Scammers will use words like "destiny," and "soulmate", often claim to be widowed, will use poor grammar/typos, and will always eventually ask for money.

Infidelity is not the site's issue - but is a fact of online dating. Statistics say 50%+ of actual members are either married or in a relationship and looking for something on the side or something better. Often these individuals will not post photos and use fake zip codes/cities to remain anonymous. Data is drama filled enough without throwing that into the equation. If they don't send a photo at some point, quickly cut your losses. I made a mistake of spending 2 months corresponding with a man who seemed wonderful, genuine, educated...but was "private" about his appearance because he said I was out of his league.

I've never judged people based on appearance (in fact the best looking men can be arrogant), so I let it continue. DON'T do that. He was married. OT will keep your expired account/profile live - and people will message you, but you won't/can't respond. Just be aware of that. Best of luck. But I vote for getting "out there" in the real world doing things you love...as the best way to meet quality/like-minded individuals.

After talking for a few times, I realized that English did not seem to be his primary language. He told me that he had a post graduate degree in Business Admin. and that he was educated here in the US. I finally caught on and told him never to contact me again. Then began to receive some really nasty emails from people I didn't recognize.

I didn't open them fearing he may be trying to install malware on my computer possibly trying to get my financial information. Today, 6/17, I met someone that at first glance appeared to be a really nice guy. He asked if we could email each other. Should have learned my lesson. Just after two exchanges, this person began saying exactly the same thing the other person did. It was the same person, just different photos and had a different state that he supposedly lived in. I am appalled that this company, as much money as they take in, and with the ability to vet people, just allow this garbage to happen.

From October 2017 to January 2018 my profile was hacked two times. Pictures and geographic location was changed. The company did little except to reset my password so I could get back in and fix my profile. When I let my membership lapse they were quick to offer a 50% discount subscription and suddenly I was getting messages and likes! However, I would have to pay to find out who. After each renewal the profiles that had liked me were withdrawn or no longer available. Yet they appeared on SeniorPeopleMeet another site owned by the same company. When I finally stopped my subscriptions I started to get spam mails to my regular email from OurTime which tried to get my credit card info by claiming I was due a refund. This site is a spam! Their concern for your information security is a joke, and the people who do respond are likely employees who are trying to get you to renew. Avoid this site.

This site seems to cater to Scammers. Every guy claims want to get to know you, "Oh but I live in Gaza, France, always out of the States, but I will be back in a few months. Give me your phone number so we can get to know each other till I get back to the States". Check the profile and almost all of the guys who want your money say they make over $100000 - that is your first clue. They are good looking and look younger than the profile says they are- 2nd clue.

Most say they lost their wife or have been single for many years 3rd clue. And then they say they are out of the States but due back in a few months - 4 clue and then they want your phone number so you can get to know each other 5 clue. It is true you can report these "guys." However you pay for a month of service and it takes less the 24 hours to see MOST of the Guys are scammers and OurTime says cannot refund your money because you messaged someone. I just tried to discontinue my account when my month is up and I still haven't found the link to my account info. They hide it --- at the time of this review I still haven't found it. I have had several flirts, and actually have been talking to one match almost exclusively. Very happy with the site, so far. The site is very easy to use, and I am quite impressed by the quality of the matches, and it has been fun reading and responding to the flirts and it is nice to know there are other who are also looking. However, there was a huge amount of emails the first day, a bit overwhelming but nothing to complain about. And the couple of obviously fake responses.

I was very disappointed with the photos and profiles I was matched with. I did not find most of them to be a good match. Most of the people I was matched with were out of my preferred date range and photos were not up to date. The profiles of some members were not entirely honest. For example, when I said I was only interested in casual dating, I was matched with the same. However, some members were really interested in more than that. So I wasted my time in a lot of cases. I cancelled my one year membership 4 months early, forfeiting the money I had already paid, and never tried OurTime again. In fact, I was so mentally or emotionally exhausted after using the site for 8 months I never used a dating site again. I do not recommend people in my age group rely solely on a dating website.

I hope they screen people better, if possible and verify if someone is really who they say they are if there is a way. No dating site is foolproof, but it behooves the dating site to try to accept on!y truly vetted candidates. Perhaps there could be an over the phone interview to help filter out those people who seem deceptive or not really serious about finding the right person.

The quality of the matches is sometimes hard to meet nice people but if you meet quite a few people eventually you do meet some nice people also. I liked that the people seemed a little more down-to-earth. When I used OurTime as opposed to just plain Plenty of Fish the people seemed a little more mature on that site and like they were genuinely interested in meeting someone.

It is an easy to use site and app and I will stick with it. I do like that it is geared more to a specific age range of people, it is better than a site that has a broad range and makes it more limiting to find someone age appropriate. Overall it is a decent site. Just haven't had much luck finding a good match on there.

No wonder I did not get any response from the men I contacted. I was able to see (in one of pages) that they were last logged in a month ago, two months ago, 6 months ago. Also many different icons and pre-fixed messages are just so redundant and impersonal. Then one day, "flirt" was sent to all without me doing so. I think most messages you get when you first join are the scammers, asking phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Anyways don't waste your energy on here!

I wish zero stars was an option, this is supposed to be a dating site for over age 50 individuals. The free membership does not allow you to do anything, so the only option presented by the website is a 6-month membership fee (which will cost you about $120). I spent over an hour answering all these questions and uploading profile photos and a few photos of landscapes I had taken (since photography is one of my hobbies). Every few days all my photos would disappear, no reason given by the website. There is no support on the website to ask why my profile keeps getting changed and deleted. Everyday they will email you with "so-called" matches, every person I was matched with looked like local gang-members or men in prison. I make a six-figure salary (and am highly educated) and I am being matched with men who have completed some high-school and appear to be unemployed.

This was a complete waste of time. I cancelled my subscription within about a week, but never received a refund from OurTime.com. This is a SCAM, they get all your money upfront and NEVER REFUND your MONEY. I was shocked by how disgusting my OurTime.com matches were. You are able to put in certain criteria you are looking for, the OurTime.com website COMPLETELY IGNORES all your CRITERIA and sends you a local criminal or gang-member as a "special match for you."

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this SCAM, most members on the site have left. Even when you leave the site, OurTime.com will keep your dating profile up so it appears they have much more membership than they actually do. This is another part of their SCAM. Also, if the men do not look like gang members, they appear to be in their 70s or 80s, I am 43 and am looking for someone who is not older than my father. Also, OurTime.com will auto-renew your membership for $168 if you do not dig through the site and disable this feature. My advice, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY or TIME with this USELESS OurTime.com WEBSITE.

I noticed in my mailbox a lot of replies and when I clicked to open there were messages sent to guys that I hadn't done! I would imagine to keep guys interested or to stop someone from deleting their profile (and I imagine I got a few bogus messages too). When I messaged these guys to tell them, "Sorry but I didn't send those messages," the site deleted me. LOL... I guess as punishment? Haha so I relogged on and needed a new password. The cons is that there are quite a bit of scammers, but they seem to follow the same pattern. First they exchange a couple of emails with you, then they either ask for your email address or cell (don't fall for this) or they send this long email of how much they love you and age and distance should keep lovers apart or some such nonsense.

Other problem is that my profile got highjacked several times. Getting help is limited, and although they said they cancelled my account and deleted my profile, I just got a notice that I have 89 messages waiting for me. Oh yeah, I've also been a 45 year old Latina, a 71 year man, a 30 year old gamer and I don't know what my profile looks like now since I can't even get into it. With this type of security I worry that the hackers will really get into their database and steal my data. They really need white hackers to test their site, because it's horrible. I agree with the majority of the folks who have given this site low reviews. The site is actually kind of hard to get through, with different filters for different things; and they are BURIED in the site itself, in places you would never think to look. I'm pretty savvy, and am on several other sites and none of them (even Match.com, this site's owners) is as bad. I get "matches" from women, although I have clearly specified that I am looking for a man; the age range is off, the geographical range is off, the number of actual paying clients is very, very low -- and since you can only send "flirts" and can't answer if you don't have a paying membership, the number of flirts is outrageous, and the number of actual contacts is underwhelming. They have an aggressive message if you don't respond to all those idiotic "flirts" that says you're a "poor responder". Give me a break. Why on this great earth would I spend my time responding to shadows?

On other sites, they have different mechanisms, like buying the possibility to allow someone who is not a paying member to respond, or responding with a pre-fab message (that is pretty bad, but...) which gets the recipient's attention and if s/he is interested, s/he can let the genie out of the bottle so to speak and allow the person who sent the initial pre-fab essay to write in his/her own voice. And you can't access your account if you are overseas. Which I am on a regular basis. So, my suggestion is pile your money up on the corner, light it on fire and flirt with the first person who comes to help you put out the fire. It will likely be more effective.

Always severe technical issues, I had age criteria but was matched with much older men, would attempt to send a message and an automatic message would come up, tried to change or override. It was absolutely the worst and frustrating, would back out and try again, same issue. Was hacked 4 times, received several email messages with OurTime logo claiming my sex preferences, etc was changed and to contact them.

Spoke with others who stated they are receiving messages from people claiming they contacted them when they didn't. My daily matches that were sent to me by OurTime would disappear after I said yes! About 2 weeks ago noticed couldn't sign into my account, verified all was correct and would take several attempts. Some days would take 5 tries and again verified all was correct. Today attempted 10 times to access my account and still couldn't access. There is an elaborate process of registration, tons of personal information: physical appearance, photos, likes, dislikes, what kind of dating possibilities might be available out there, huge lists of prospects: "favorites," (people you have chosen out of many, many people), "flirting" - that's when you advise someone that you are interested in them, "favorites" - those whom you've chosen for further potential association. The cost is relatively cheap $19.97 to start, although they are constantly offering upgrades for incentives of all kinds. Too good to be true for us lonely women.

After your registration and your choosing of the favorites, you begin to receive notices that So-and-So has favorited you, usually a scroungy bunch, many of whom are way out of your chosen range geologically and resume-wise. It's tremendously disappointing to receive these messages and then never get a response to your replies, when the way they had described themselves was so enticing. "Ah, the end to Loneliness!!!"

It takes several hours to complete their forms, all that information. Then, they tell you that you haven't done enough... That's why you are not getting responses! The most tragic part is that you do run into a couple of, to you, IDEAL possibilities. What you long for... You "favorite" them, you've gotten their profiles, you want to meet them! They are interested in YOU! And so, it goes on and on. You not understanding why you don't receive responses to your communications... the ones that mean something to you that are appropriate. I am still thinking of two men I thought might be possibility for companionship in the days to come. I would like to prevent other vulnerable women from suffering this ignoble experience, cheap though it may be monetarily speaking. It cost me a great deal in disappointment.

So I am sure I was probably a woman on some other women’s website as a match. Then there are some good looking men - guess what they are past men that have moved on. So ladies those men are not really looking for women because they are really not on the site. Then of course you have perverts and dorks but that is just part of looking. I can accept that better than the lies this website has.

I also saw several profiles that were hacked. Horrible things that were said and changed. I looked on other reviews and men and women complained that they were hacked so this company is not even protecting us from being hacked. I thought joining and paying for 6 months was reasonable. Ok, so I created my profile, upload pics, etc, etc. 99.9 % of the flirts and messages were from scammers. They're easy to pick up in once you've experienced them as I have on other dating sites. They always want you to text their phone or immediately ask for your email address.

Next, I have the same issue as another person posted, false profile views which also send out false flirts. Unless you are on the full site via computer and not mobile, you have no way to know if a profile is active or not. The computer website will show you how recent the person's activity has been. About 90% of the people who sent flirts, Favorites, liked my picture, or messaged were from over 1,000 miles away. No one I sent a chat to ever answered, and only two ever responded to messages. The bots are loaded up on that site.

Today, I got a message from the "friend" of someone who gave his email and phone number. I responded that my profile is quite clear that I am looking for people in Michigan, not AZ. The gentleman who owns that account said he did not send the email - he was hacked. This has proven to be a sad and costly experience for me - a recent widow just looking for a friend to see shows, go to dinner, etc. I would advise anyone who thinks of joining this site to not do it. I can't figure out who would give OurTime 4 out of 5 stars when members pay monthly premiums just to be contacted by scammers trying to get as much money from the member as possible. Today is April 15, 2018 and I canceled my auto pay for the monthly premiums. I will be deleting my profile soon. All ads on TV for OurTime are lies. My advice is to save your money, don't waste your time.

My letter to OurTime sums it all, 2018-04-13. Not for a second do I believe that OurTime is prepared enough to deal with hackers. Sad that I had to experience this in the short time I was with your matching company. In only four months, three hackers contacted me. I believe without a doubt that your company is not capable of responsibly protecting its customers, and that you are mostly concerned with the public not knowing how bad and how often people's profiles are hacked.

So I demand that you refund me completely, immediately. I do not know for sure what will be the full consequences of this last hacker knowing who I am, what is my full name, my email, my phone, my business name, and my location. I may have repercussions for life which I hold your company responsible as well. And by the way, since you seemed to need help protecting your clients of hackers and con artist, there is one more account that sounds awfully suspicious to me. ** from Aliso Viejo CA, 62 years old. His profile looks awfully familiar to the writings I got from the named guy Chris **, the hacker that got my information.

In addition, you should warn your clients never to place themselves near identifying objects. The photos that were send to me of the man calling himself Chris **, show a man near a car with a plate number from Illinois. Your responsibility above all is to protect your clients from abuse and potential criminal activities, and you are doing a pathetic job at it. Needless to say that I will place these comments loud and clear on the Internet everywhere I can. Obviously, cancel my account immediately and take all my information down, so no more hackers can get my photos.

By 10 April 2018, my profile was hacked and two charges were made, one was for a one month subscription of $22.47 and the other was for 280 tokens that was $9.99. On 11 April 2018, I contacted OurTime.com at 866-727-8920 about the problem and told them I wanted a refund for the two charges that I did not authorize and for the one month subscription since I was only four days into it. They refunded the two unauthorized charges but refused to refund my subscription charge because they stated that it was in their user agreement. I told two different representatives that the problem was not mine but was their fault because of lack of security for their site and because of that, I should be refunded.

After several times of telling them I wanted to speak to their supervisors, both reps hung up on me. The time that we talked, I never used any profanity or yelled into the phone but once I started asking for a supervisor, both reps started cutting me off in mid sentence and told me they were going to terminate the call, at which point they hung up. Stay away from this site because it is nothing more than a ripoff.

Under "My View" I had 16 pages of men (over 100) men total that I supposedly viewed. This was FALSE, as I only viewed maybe 30 men total during my time on the site. Clearly something they are controlling on their end. I was getting countless of flirts, (300 total), and out of the 300 it stated that I had 16 actual messages from men. I was skeptical of this as well because I signed up a few months ago for another site which is the sister site of OurTime operated by People Media and once I paid the views, flirts and messages stopped. I hope others do their research first regarding these sites before paying them.

One hour after paying I had looked at horrendous selection of members and difficult website and immediately tried to cancel via phone and email. One hour after paying to access site which could not be accessed without paying! They never responded to my emails and kept sending me emails. The potential dates who contacted me online sent repeated messages and it felt like I was being stalked. But the primary complaint is that the site tricked/manipulated me into paying when they advertise a free trial. And then they ignored my attempts to cancel until finally today I got through to someone - many times they could not be reached by phone - and hope that they deleted my account from OurTime and the others they had linked me to. I don't blame dating site because I didn't make a love connection. Some people are lucky enough to be on a site at the same time, find each other and have a happy ending, most of us will not and I realize that. However, when I have been on a site for 5 months and not one date and no real messages, I have to question the validity of the site. Question, how many active members they really have. Before paying I signed up did a search and saw that there were quite of few recently active men that met my requirements, I was getting views, flirts and messages everyday. After I paid, (I was lucky the price that I paid was at a much reduced rate from what was first offered, I think less than $40.00) poof, all of my messages, views, and flirts stopped and the ones I supposedly had, I couldn't access them and I could no longer see last activity dates for members.

What on earth happened? I was scammed, catfished by the dating site, there are very very few active members throughout the site, I wasn't just looking in my area. After a month of no activity I went to POF, posted the same profile with the same username and same photo, although I have not made a love connection, I have been on more dates than I can count and actually have become friends with several people, FYI, POF is free. My time expires on May 2nd. I have already set my account not to auto-renew and I printed the page as proof that it is not to auto-renew and I remove my profile.

Besides committing fraud, the site is hard to navigate, visually unattractive and full of bothersome ads. Why do you have ads on a paid site? I saw an ad, OurTime was voted as one of the 10 top dating sites, number 3, behind Zoosk and Match, does this mean they can scam you better. If people knew how few active members this site really has they would never pay. Be truthful so people can make informed decisions. I'm sticking with the free sites and the old fashion way.

From my one month experience as a member of Match.com which resulted in being a victim of fraudulent billing by Match.com, I presumed Match.com was the worst of the bunch. WRONG!!! I saw an ad on TV for internet dating that was geared for the over fifty crowd so, out of curiosity I headed to OurTime.com. I accepted a two week trial offer, posted a professional profile, I am a lawyer, with photos, I frequently run 10k's so my body weight is within parameters set by the gov, have a full set of hair, am over 5'10", then went fishing for a contact.

The first odd thing I noticed was that the day after I subscribed, the powers that be at Ourtime.com removed the caption from profiles that revealed the last time a member had logged on. I wondered, how am I to know whether the subscriber was a current member or had cancelled months, or years earlier. That change placed current paying members, or even potential members at a disadvantage. It took me several days to uncover something I was not looking for.

Every day I received about 6-10 inquiries and each and every inquiry used the boilerplate script introduction that Ourtime provides to its writing challenged or lazy subscribers to wit: "Hi, I saw your photo and I like it," or some similar script. I would then promptly reply with a minimum two paragraph response, stating what I liked about the sender's profile. The next day I would receive a reply, "hi, you look like someone I would like to meet," one of several boilerplate scripts. The response was evident nobody read my reply, it was just an auto reply.

Because of the plethora of negative reviews from Ourtime subscribers, many, like Match.com complaining about being billed for monthly subscriptions after they cancelled, a myriad of subscribers, some whom I communicated with, complained of receiving emails from non-existent subscribers. In seven days I received over a hundred contacts, however, not one wrote an original note, each used the boilerplate scripts mentioned above. If you want to throw away money, do so in your backyard, not paying for a subscription to Ourtime.com. If you think you are so hot that you may think you may be the exception, I urge you not to pay more than a few bucks for a trial offer. I guarantee you that after the trial period is over, you won't be sending Ourtime.com any more hard earned dollars.

Myself being a lawyer, and a retired federal law enforcement officer, I will be looking into this matter further to see if this type of activity falls into elder abuse. Ourtime is targeting people over fifty years of age, enticing them with fraudulent expectations, to meet non-existent subscribers. In criminal law jargon, that falls into intent to defraud. Keep your money in your purse and go to the gym to meet Miss or Mr. Right.

These idiots want me to text them or visit their Facebook page. Sure, I report the scammers, but why should I have to? Why doesn't OurTime check all new accounts and photos before they're posted? Then there are the constant popups, bugging me for enhanced services, at a price of course. I could go on for a long time about how bad this site is, but suffice it to say that even if OurTime offered me a free renewal I'd turn it down.

Updated on 05/22/2018: Today's the last day of my six-month membership on OurTime, I'm happy to say. I've already removed my profile. This is what I wanted to add to my original comments: I was getting an average of one view a day for most of my membership. But in the last week or so I've been getting three to six views a day. What OurTime is doing is obvious: they're directing more eligible women my way to try to entice me to renew. That's not happening; even if they paid me to renew I wouldn't do it. Several other people have said OurTime renewed their membership even after being instructed to not do so. Fast forward to today, I log into my laptop and discovered that during the 3 weeks I wasn't a paying member, they would send fake messages to other members. OurTime sent members that I clicked 'yes I would be interested' fake messages that; I made them my favorite member, I loved their pictures, I wanted to hear more from them, I had sent a flirt...which I had NEVER sent. That eventually triggered an email sent to those members that I had liked their profile somehow. And eventually, those members would reply back to my profile with either flirts or a response that would trigger an email back to me that someone had made me there favorite, or I have a message from a member, etc... all to entice me to pay to join.

Upon discovering that, I changed my profile to totally idiotic choices because no matter who sends me a flirt, message or like my pictures, how am I to believe it was sent from a real member and not just someone who looked at my profile or just computer generated. Well guess what? I am still receiving flirts and messages with my idiot profile and I can bet you they are not from any member because there is no way anyone would reply to my profile the way it is now posted. After only a few days using this dating site I felt as though I had been lured into a scamming site. The first man I had a chat with texted me once or twice and then told me he wanted me to contact him via his private phone and email, that he did not like the site. Red flags went up. After a few Google searches to find out what scammers can do with your personal phone number and email, I began to feel that he was out for no good. I chatted briefly with a few men and decided that one was about 50 miles away and I decided to meet up with him for coffee. I thought it best to meet him in his neck of the woods so that he would not follow me home and learn anything about me other than our first initial meeting. I felt safe that it was a very public place that we would be meeting.

As soon as I agreed to meet, he began to ask me to take off after our coffee and go to the next state to do some touring. I apologized and let him know up front that I would not go anywhere with him until I knew him quite well and that I didn't even know him yet. He did not answer. When I returned to the site later to see what he had decided, I clicked on his profile and it was "unavailable". This made me very uncomfortable and gave me the impression that this man was not at all who he said he was. After that I was afraid to talk to anyone else on the site, afraid they were just lying to try to scam or put me into an unsafe situation.

Of other concern was the fact I was totally overwhelmed with email from out of staters when I clearly made searches for men from my own state. I would not recommend this site to anyone who is sincere in wanting to meet a potential partner or date because there is no assurance that you are communicating with who you believe they are according to their profile. Most of the 1-star reviews used the site for a month or less. I signed up with a 6-month membership. Initially, it does start out as described, with mostly long-distance or otherwise unsuitable matches. But I think part of that is because most, like me, start with incomplete or first draft profiles. As your profile develops and some time is spent declining inappropriate matches, the site does a decent job in presenting potential matches, and I connected with a number of very real people over the latter 3 months.

That said, website navigation is more repetitive and difficult than it should be, and the ads make it worse, and the mobile version is very limited. I was able to cancel auto-renewal through the website, and recently let it lapse. I suddenly got 10X the number of viewed notices - that could be a marketing ploy, or it could be that they simply purged some kind of cache. Overall, with enough time and effort, the site adequately does what it says it will. I don't think it's worth the full price, especially with all those ads, but I may renew with another discount offer.

Should be interesting come Monday morning, how they're going to handle this. Don't have high hopes for a professional or truly "customer service" oriented response and/or "call to action". Don't waste your time and or money on this site.

Updated on 02/13/2018 - After having been on the site for less than 1 week, my account was hacked, gender & profile were changed over the weekend. You cannot contact anyone with respects to the security breach by phone [phones are turned off after 5:00 on Friday] or by email [you receive a 'Mailer Daemon']. I 'hid' my profile, but continued to get messages/flirts, having to repeatedly 'hide' my profile. I contacted the office first thing Monday morning. It appears that the account was hacked from within, because the representative saw that I had 'hidden' my profile but was continuing to get notices of interest. I was fully refunded my 6 month purchase, but it was not done so until I stated that I would file an official complaint with the credit card company, due to the serious failings of their tech platform. I had no idea that this site was owned by 'Match', which I think is a loathsome site. Never again.

I signed up January 18, 2018. I received what seemed like computer generated responses. In other words no messages received were in the persons in words. I received messages and flirts from men who never even viewed my profile and were not on my profile reviewed list. I had preferences that were not met either years younger or lived out of state. Good luck in trying to cancel the renewal. It is not set up for you to do so. But I have contacted my credit card company and requested a new card number...so they make it difficult to cancel. That's one way to do it...

My short term experience on this website has been that there are mostly fakes and not real people on this website. Check them out the best you can, use Google or whatever you can to check them out before you give them any info about you. I filed a complaint today on 3 of them, but there are more I could have. I'm sure OurTime won't do a thing about it. Nor will they refund your money. But some of what I've found is a phone number that said "dangerous", an address that doesn't exist, different pictures and info/profile on FB, and even one who changed his picture and age right after I gave him an email address (I printed out both profiles). And be sure you set up a new and separate email account to use. Be smart and be wary... If you have mistakenly set up an OurTime account.

It’s so obvious that their staff has set up email scamming bots (automatic batch code programs) that send out fake emails to recruit people and steal their money. Anyway... The system requires one to click the back arrow 60 times to get to the desired yr. I attempted to contact customer service but couldn't select a category and even that didn't work. If I even thought I would pay money for this program I certainly wouldn't because of its primitive set up and poor reviews.

Despite best efforts I've only received one reply out of hundreds by a woman who said that she wanted to meet but then disappeared. On Our Time, several of the people that were sent to me were from at least 1000 miles away or scammers. I think your best bet is to try to meet people the old-fashioned way and save your money, it seems that these sites purposefully don't want you to meet anyone or people were just looking around to see what's out there and not very serious. I understand that it's difficult being alone, but the sites potentially can break down your self-esteem, and you don't want to give them that kind of power.

There are perhaps a few "real" seniors on this website, but they definitely are in the minority. Based on my search criteria, OurTime.com claims I have 146 matches. The profiles for about 80% of these matches are so incomplete that they appear to be either bogus or whimsical. But in any case, not serious. About 90% of these matches have not been active at any time recently, which could mean they found somebody - or gave up in disgust like I have done. The primary purpose of this business seems to be to generate website traffic - which generates ad revenue for OurTime.

I get an email from OurTime claiming that someone with a name like HollyGoLightly has made me her favorite. But when I go to the website, there is no indication that HollyGoLightly has viewed my profile, much less sent me a flirt or a message or made me her favorite. So I spend 5 minutes on the website and visit several pages looking in vain for HollyGoLightly. This generates ad revenue for OurTime, but is a total waste of My Time. So, in my considered opinion, OurTime will be a waste of Your Time - and money, if you are stupid enough to sign up.

There's no real dating going on - they just want your money. For me, the men who did reply were either crude and looking for a hookup or needy and overbearing. Setting an age range for potential suitors goes unnoticed - if you ask for ages 55-65 you can bet you're going to get a lot of people well into their 70s.

There are also a lot of young kids on this site, posing as more mature men. I could go on and on so I'll just sum it up for anyone who is considering signing up. DON'T. Instead, go volunteer in your community or get involved in local groups with people who have mutual interests (yoga, golf, knitting, whatever) and meet people face to face. I signed up for OurTime.com when it was indicated that I had a "free" month to test out the website. So I agreed to do that and signed up through PayPal. Even on the OurTime website under my account information, it showed that the payment was declined which further indicated that this was, in fact, a free "test" period. Not. I was charged $33.95 and later told it was nonrefundable because I had actually messaged some gentlemen on the site. Wasn't that part of the free package... to test out the website for a month? After two weeks I dropped out of the website because I noticed the following: When I first signed on I received multiple "hits' from men all over the country. Since that is unreasonable to expect someone to date men from other states, I contacted the website and explained that I was only interested in the local members.

They said there wasn't a way to view just local members which I thought was odd. I am not sure that the profiles were indeed "real" or even existed. I corresponded with one gentleman who lived in my area but he would string the conversation along even after he suggested we meet for coffee. He had excuses every time we attempted to actually meet. That struck me as odd since he was the one that wanted to meet. The software is set up so you receive separate notifications every time someone views your profile so from the same person, you could receive a "Like" for your photo, a "Like" for your profile, and a "Flirt" as well, and it made it appear like you were receiving all sorts of correspondence which isn't the case.

Since it was all from one individual. Also when I looked in my "sent" folder, I noticed that there were "flirts" sent to people I never contacted or had any interest in so I don't know how that happened. In summary, I am very disappointed in the website as it really is misleading and they aren't carefully monitoring the members or the scammers. Therefore, I can't recommend this website to anyone.

I go in and look and they deleted everything I already written months before - all gone. Lo and behold my email inbox is jammed with flirts and notices that I am someone’s ‘favorite’. Easily tenfold the normal number (which is somewhat annoying to begin with). My conclusion was that they were generating fake traffic to make me feel like I had a real shot at meeting many women. They don’t need to do this and I find it a deceptive business practice. I edited my profile to state this and ‘poof’ that part of my profile is gone. I reposted that and expect it to disappear again quickly. The decision to renew or not has been made for me.

It's a dumb database programmed to do nothing but put your picture in front of men (women) who get photo options, "Do you like this woman or this one?! How about this one, or this one? And this one?" Like they are shopping for shirts!! So every time a man chooses your picture over another picture you get "A Message". Then, the site encourages men to send a wink or an icebreaker. And all they do is click ok and the site does everything for them, without any effort on their part. So I get 4 or 5 messages a day from the SAME USER and when you open up "the message" there is NO MESSAGE!!! Just a redundant msg just like the previous one... "I like your picture" and then another one FROM THE SAME USER. "I like your photograph". Then in comes another message from the same user "I like your profile!" Then another message FROM THE SAME USER "You caught my eye"...

And every time you open "A MESSAGE" hoping for an actual "MESSAGE" then the user is notified that you are reading their "MESSAGE" then they contact you AGAIN, and click another button saying "Write me if you are interested". So I have 300 messages from 38 guys from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. You cannot do a radius of interest. And the one local man who I wanted to read his response, that I had to sift through hundreds of BS msgs...that sent me an "actual message with content", I was not able to open it... After several attempts to open the message, I called customer service. Never mind calling customer service. You are calling the Philippines and they are just reading a script OVER AND OVER AND OVER repeating what they just said to you. Like you are computer illiterate, and that's the problem, YOU (because it is working fine for them!)

THEY WILL NOT TRANSFER YOU to a manager. They tell you "my manager will tell you the same thing". We will just send your "suggestions" to "our development department". They don't even consider your complaint about the site. A COMPLAINT. Just a suggestion on how they can improve!! All the while you are trying to sift through ALL OF THIS MESS, if it's not bad enough, advertisements are flashing on the page, just like it's a free site. And you can't minimize the advertisements. However, they quickly just charged my credit card $99 dollars for 6 months And the site's response is slow. So as I am clicking right in the same spot my cursor is, they flash an upgrade button, and unbeknownst to me, I've suddenly unintentionally paid ANOTHER $20 to UPGRADE, so that I can now know when someone has read my note. WTF??!!

I only discovered this through my charge account, NOT FROM OURTIME, so BEWARE! Why would that be extra, anyway?! There has to be a better way. Like a paid matchmaker program that doesn't charge you until AFTER you meet a suitable candidate. Maybe I need to start a real personal matchmaking service that is specialize to the individual and actually have a live person who will hand pick a suitable candidate. Forget this junk.

So a week of my membership was again wasted because of their technical difficulties. I can’t be bothered to contact customer service again because I found them useless the first time. I’m now trying to cancel my membership and that is easier said than done because when I click on “my account”, it pops up with the message saying this feature is not available. Don’t bother with this site! It’s horrible. I’d even go back to Match.com than use this one. It’s horrible to say the least!!

This dating site is sooo riddled with hackers that it becomes virtually impossible to connect with eligible daters. In less than 72 hours my profile was hacked and perverted which required a shutdown and complete reinstatement six times. Getting over the phone help is squeezed into 8 am to 5 pm Mon-Fri BUT the hackers know this and rob your profile times and days the customer service is closed. So you find yourself paying for MANY days of a site which is inaccessible. People Media Inc is very resistant to give out refunds and run you around for weeks to wear you down. Match.com (owned by same company) is the same exact problem. Find other ways to meet and date. These sites are pure brain damage!

This site preys upon lonely seniors. It posts inaccurate information to attract your attention such as saying that you have new flirts and new messages when neither is true. When you log in on the site, it is the same old information sometimes months out of date. The site keeps recycling "matches" that you have rejected months ago. Do not waste your money here. You are better off sitting at home and using your money to buy a good bottle of booze.

Do not waste your time and/or money subscribing to this site. It is the biggest scam! 99% of my matches were from across the country and all guys contacting me were looking for a hookup or whatever else I wasn't. I received the same matches weeks in a row. It is a shame that such business continues to thrive. I canceled my renewal within weeks of using the service, removed all my pictures and just accepted that I was victim of a scam! Customer service is the greatest waste of time and keep in mind that subscription is non-refundable!!!

I signed on for a month and immediately was bombarded with 'likes' and 'smiles' and automated, pre-written messages. I would say that a third of those messages were from people thousands of miles away; or they had no photos, or their profile was so full of spelling and grammar mistakes that it was obvious English wasn't their first language. There are far, far too many fake profiles on this site. In addition, although they claim they're targeting 50+ folks, they are an awful lot of younger singles on here - either fake profiles or looking for their cougars. If you want to try it out, be aware of the scams, the fake profiles. The best test: see if they want to meet in person. That takes care of many of them really quickly.

What makes me angry is how these 'fake profiles' seem to proliferate rather than dissipate. Isn't anyone at OurTime looking through these, filtering them? Or are they just after the money they're making? Other than the fake users, the setup of this site is so non-user friendly. Flashing advertisements, even when you've paid for a subscription, poor quality photos... it's really Times Square at rush hour and if you have 'chat' on, you've got ten people trying to 'chat' with you at once. Cancelling your subscription is yet another piece of work. I had to go to Paypal to cancel because there is nothing straightforward on OurTime's website to show you where to go. Really lousy. And no, after all that, I did not go on a single date.

I signed up for this service only to find they do not screen their people. Anyone can sign up even catfisher and scammer. I fell for one and was taken for a ride. I just got an email stating I signed an inappropriate text. Not sure how when you have to pay for the service in order to send a text. DO NOT sign up.

First the dating site is a scam. It tells you people viewed your account that really didn't, in turns it states you viewed accounts that you didn't. Then I stopped automatic renewal shortly into my 6 month subscription, so when the 6 months was up I wouldn't be able to communicate with other members. I went in to delete my account and photos and it recharged me another 6 month subscription and automatic renewal. I immediately contacted the company and state I DID NOT search profiles just went in to delete my account and was charged. They finally refunded my money but charged me a $3.99 processing fee. That is underhanded and deceptive. All I wanted to was remove my photos so they could not use them.

I have been a paid member 2 times in the past, so I know as to what I speak. First - read these other reviews. They are being 100% truthful. When you put up your profile and pictures, etc (and BEFORE) you have paid - you will get COUNTLESS views, flirts, messages, etc. Then you decide to pay and find out these are from people FAR AWAY. I mean 1,000's of miles away. Also you will soon learn most HAVE TO BE FAKE because their brief description says the EXACT SAME THING. Yes, there will be a handful of local members who are real people but 90% of these are unpaid members so you can't contact them anyway. Also most of these local "members" are old profiles by people who have not signed on in years. I can think of nothing more sinister and evil than to prey on a person who wants to find love, companionship, a friend or whatever...

I have to believe SOMEDAY the truth will come out about this cruel outfit and hopefully see some kind of GIANT class-action lawsuit. I will say this: both times I joined I was not overcharged and I did know enough to turn off the auto-renewal immediately after becoming a paid member and advise anyone who does pay to do this. So I did not gets ripped off financially, just emotionally. : ) Bottom line: Save your time, money and frustrations. The site is in my opinion 100% a scam and I believe the employees spend all day creating fake profiles, sending stupid "flirts" and messages, etc. They are good at it. Thank-You for reading my truthful review.

I was often matched with the same people repeatedly even though I had dismissed them. I was matched with individuals ten years older than the age range I had chosen. I was matched with several people whom I had blocked. A number of potential matches were just profiles of people who no longer were members. I was matched with several obviously fake profiles or catfish playing games and scamming users. There were repeated technical issues, but no tech support. Customer service is useless. The service also tricks users by including one deadline before renewal, but then shutting down the user profile or continuing it by charging a higher fee all without notice. I have traded emails with so-called support and received repeated generic responses that achieved no resolution. The company obviously is used more to make money from desperate people than to provide a legitimate service.

First thing that you should do is stop the auto billing. Mind you, once you've done this you get inundated with sign up, special deal (LOL). This site adds a link to match.com, go figure! This site also does not police who signs on and there are a lot of scam attempts from ladies who will ask you to send them an email, very irritating. Certainly not what I had anticipated.

In trying to stop my automatic renewal ending 5 months from now, somehow I have been charged another $45. For another renewal, now I have 325 days of a subscription. I wish I could get a refund for now, instead of however they did this. Called credit card company they have opened a dispute. Writing congressman next. Companies like this should be investigated.

This service is appalling. Nearly every contact has no picture and/or is from another state. The number of local contacts can be counted on one hand and I live in the tri-state area. The site is also riddled with young men looking for hookups. I cannot believe I actually thought this might lead to some dates. Complete garbage.

I've been on Our Time about 1.5 years. Each time my account comes up for renewal my views are manipulated going from 10-15 per day to over 50! As soon as I renew, views go right back to a normal amount. Now messages also seem to be manipulated. I receive notices from my email provider that I have mail on Our Time which is normally accurate but this week the mail was not there which has happened before. A fellow I liked messaging who told me he enjoyed our correspondence also disappeared from site with no explanation. Views have dwindled to less than 4 per day despite new photos that draw many views and messages on other sites. My subscription isn't due to expire until February and I won't be renewing. Can't help but think their employees get bored and manipulate the service they're supposed to be providing. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I felt the ads are misleading... I was under the impression I was only being charged for 1 month, I never received a receipt, etc saying. After being on the site for a few weeks I checked my account and much to my surprise I was charged for 6 months!! After speaking to their customer service about this issue, and asking to speak to the account mgr, which they would not, they WILL NOT REFUND anything to my satisfaction! And NO the results were not good as well. It seemed the only messages I received were their 'auto-generated' messages... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE!
