Bought Norton online for an iPad, trying to get it to download.Norton shows the only way is buy something else..A CON. Trying to talk to them online is a joke, "We will have an agent with you in 5 minutes…." 15 minutes later NOTHING. Tried three times. Trying to get to my so called account it showed I am using the wrong password….Again, another Norton con! After about three hours trying to get a refund I finally get someone by phone that you can’t even understand. Keep calling back, finally get someone that is understandable, explain that I can’t download virus protection or get into my account. He apologizes for my inconvenience and tries to get me to buy something else, he won’t give up. Finally he agreed to give me a refund. This is a con company, they know they are but all they care about is your money. DON’T waste your time with them.

Horribly inadequate. I am "on hold" on phone for over 2.5 hours now, called after trying to get customer support on the affected machine met with two "could not process the current request" screens. Multiple scans did not detect the virus(es?) crippling my desktop (most attacks seem mcafee-related as their software is the proposed "solution"). While on phone, on a third machine I tried tech support via "chat". Another 25 minute wait there. Then as I was describing the initial virus attacks the tech person reported he was not receiving any messages and so signed off - This despite we had had at least 3 back and forths about what name to use, etc, shortly before hand. Another try at chat and another 20 minute wait... This now is 3 failed attempts to BEGIN to describe the problem to a tech person in 3.5 hours. Have requested to speak to a supervisor and once more waiting....

I had the Norton 360 deluxe antivirus subscription (annually) in June. I noticed my IPad running noticeably slow and went to Apple. They ran the testing and said because the antivirus software slowed down the system. They said I did not need another antivirus software because Apple itself provide the protection (IPhone too). Therefore I deleted the antivirus software in July. I made quite a few calls to Norton asking for prorated refund and I got no result. The customer service experience were terrible. Three times they told me that I will get an email notifying me for a refund but they lied every time.

The upcoming government policy to enforce the company to make refund more accessible has no impact to them at all. Meanwhile once I hung up the phone an email appeared that a bogus company sent me a bill $477.00 for annual antivirus protection contract. I am seriously suspecting they are practicing scare tactic and harassing me as well. I have zero hesitation to recommend not use this company.

We had to buy a new computer which came with a different antivirus, so we had to cancel Norton. They would not prorate a refund on the annual renewal that took effect in March, resulting in a $55 loss. We are long-time customers and would have continued if we didn't need to purchase a new computer. I also found out in this process that Norton had a recent massive data breach compromising customer information. How does an antivirus corporation get hacked? Talk about losing trust and customers. And Norton will never see our future business with the failure to honor a long-time customer with a prorated refund. That guaranteed we won't return to Norton when the other antivirus timeframe expires. We'll done, Norton. No honor at all.

I purchased a 1-year subscription. The product was okay, but nothing special and occasionally glitched out. After about 11 months, I canceled the auto-renewal. Unbeknownst to me, Norton had already renewed my subscription for another year. I didn't notice for several months, and by the time I did, they told me it was too late to get a refund, even though I turned off auto-renew well before the end of my original subscription.

They repeatedly told me that I should have known about the renewal because they sent me an email. But when I managed to track down the email, the subject line was "Enjoy peace of mind with your cyber safety protection...." No one is going to bother opening an email like that, especially given that Norton sends several junk emails every month. This auto-renewal, more than a month in advance, without reasonable notice and their subsequent refusal to provide a refund leads me to conclude that Norton is basically just trying to scam their customers.

To whom it may concern, I am currently using your Norton Anti-Virus 360 software to protect all of my computers. However, I have been receiving pop-up messages indicating that my personal information is being sold online. This raises concerns about the effectiveness of Norton Anti-Virus 360. If the software is designed to protect my personal information, why is it not preventing this issue?

Additionally, the messages suggest adding “Privacy Monitor Assistant” for $109.99 per year. Could you please clarify what Norton 360 does to protect my computers and why it is necessary to purchase an additional service to safeguard my personal information? If my information is being sold on the dark web, why isn’t Norton 360 protecting my PC and my data?

Since Norton 360 doesn’t seem to be providing the necessary protection, it feels like paying $100.00 per year for this service is unjustified. I believe that customers using Norton should consider filing a lawsuit for paying $100.00 per year for a service that does not fulfill its promises. I intend to share my experience online to see what others think. Thank you for selling a product that claims to protect PCs and personal information but appears to be ineffective and vulnerable to hackers. Why are we using Norton products if they can't protect our sensitive information and prevent harm?

The ONLY thing Norton is really good at is hassling customers to upgrade and renew 380 days early.

Using it on 4 different devices has become a hideous time consuming frustrating waste of energy and resources. The good reviews are either not honest or are written by someone new to Norton. Norton, formerly known as Symantec, formerly known as Norton...is well known for 1. treating existing, repeat customers like dirt. 2. You are constantly contacted with a lot of add-ons! It's annoying! They will offer a free upgrade, then the link doesn't work, they can't find the chat where it was offered, and there is no history of the communication. You cannot send a copy of the Chat to your email and they can't retrieve the Chat despite having a reference number. Don't waste your time on Chats and phone calls to resolve matters. I have been using Norton for years, more than I can count. Slowly its usefulness has decreased and its sales pitches have accelerated, especially after my most recent renewal in 12/2023. I decided I needn't need or want it any longer. I canceled my subscription, removed the software and asked for a refund. After chatting with customer support for an hour, including working with a supervisor, the sum total of what they could provide me was NOTHING. No refund, period.

My loyalty mattered not at all. The fact that I barely use it does not matter. The fact the backup doesn't work does not matter. Not even their own customer service post from Jan 18, 2024 mattered. Nothing matters except a multimillion dollar company wants to hold onto every penny. If I canceled any other service, cable, telephone line, or lawn mowing, I would be entitled to a refund of the unused portion, but not Norton. No, for them, once they have the money, they keep the money, whether I am using their service or not.

I was told the cancellation was accepted because I took action within the 60 day window. I contacted Norton on February 27, 2024 because I did not receive a refund on my credit card from Norton. The on-line bot/representative said it couldn't help me with my request for a refund and asked me to click a link to speak to someone in customer service. I clicked on the button and it sent me back into a never ending loop to nowhere. Norton's website demonstrates that it does not want you to be successful in obtaining a refund.

Out of frustration, I went online to see how other customers were handling refund issues with Norton. I called a number from a site indicating they were Norton's Customer Service Department. The representative asked me a series of odd questions such as what was the balance on my credit card. Alarmed, I hung up the phone immediately and contacted my credit card company to cancel my credit card. I came very close to being scammed - all because Norton did not followthrough with its promise to reverse the charge and the company makes it impossible to find the "secret door" to obtaining a legitimate refund. Though I've lost my $59.99, I hope my review saves you from entering Norton's den of frustration and business deception.

Been using Norton/Symantec Antivirus for many years. Not having a great customer experience. Two years ago they started requiring your credit card when you add a "year long" subscription. One huge problem is that they bill you an exorbitant $149 for a renew and they do it 1 month prior to your subscription due date. It's abusive because you have to cancel or call to not get the auto renew and why pay for a 12 month subscription and then have to cancel after 11 months? You have to hunt to find the phone number to get your renew money back and even after calling, it took 30 minutes this morning to get the representative to say they are researching it. If you like a bad consumer experience, Norton/Symantec is the company for you. Norton/Symantec have always been a big spammer sending you countless emails and messages to your computer screen and putting their shortcut on your computer desktop. I hate that.

Changing my antivirus system, I chose the 7 day trial Norton system. Following directions, Auto payment at the end of the trial period, if approved. Signed in with email & password, account info with credit card info, then downloaded, (3 separate files) and installed. Received 2 emails, "no reply". I had a problem and needed help, so I looked for Support and got the endless list question/canned answers, never addressing my question. Looked for an email address, none. Reply email, Non-reply. Having changed from my previous virus program for the same type of support, I decided to end the trial 2 days early. I went all over the website but could not find a way to end the trial. I finally managed to end the trial, uninstalled the program but got a message the subscription would renew, (auto renewal) anyhow and my credit card was charged! I did protest the charge to my card bank.

In the meantime, the program re-appeared on my computer. So I deleted the downloads and used Microsoft to remove the programs. I received email referring to my "new Account". Very aggressive, over-bearing methods, for a FREE 7 Day Trial". Hours on this, still no communication, all efforts at support referred back to the endless question/canned answers support. Also, after the un-install I was missing my PassWord Files! Now I need a real antivirus program to find my PW files!

Like many, many complainants, I have had Norton charge my credit card without my permission. After cancelling my subscription the first time, I continued to find charges on my account. Then twice more. On their website there is a cancel auto-renewal feature, but it requires that the customer "confirm" but there is no button. If you call, they say it's all cancelled, but then oooops turn around and they are sucking money from my credit card again. After hours of fiddling, I have gotten a refund. In the meantime, Norton has the use of many, many untold numbers of customers' money, one hundred bucks at a time. Even with giving refunds, they are able to put that fraudulently obtained money to work in their private hedge fund. Filed complaint with FTC. I will keep filing and spreading the word.

First off, I have been a Norton customer for over 20 years. However since the acquisition of Lifelock I assume the company has changed leadership. In the past 5 years there has been a sharp decline in customer service. Multiple data breaches leading to lost customer information including password manager passwords! Most annoying is you purchase a product, and then have to decline pop up advertisements, most of which are predatory veiled threats. You can't turn them off.

They give you a "special offers" box to check, but you are still bombarded daily with, "Buy this new product or your going to have the virus hack stolen data!" They make auto-renew difficult to turn off, for a reason. They use predatory "wait how about 30 days free so you forget to cancel again!" methods. They notoriously charge you well in advance of your renewal date. They make it difficult to get refunded any charge. This used to be a great product. Now its just another one of the malicious pieces of software I buy security suites to protect me from.

I turned off my auto renewal feature and was told that Norton would refund me the money.

Fast forward to today, when I find out that this app didn't stop and was renewed by Norton against my wishes and still charged over $135.00 for another year. I filed a claim against them with my credit card to dispute this charge and removed Norton from all of my devices. How to restore a file from cold storage is covered in a video on the Norton website. The video Norton has on their website is outdated and no longer represents the current version of Norton. Since their video is outdated, I had no other option but to ask Norton tech support. I called tech support for Norton this afternoon. The call was answered promptly. They say September, but my receipt is for 1 year + a couple of months given to me by another email I may not be able to find. I don't know if I will renew this product, because they're terrible to customers. Advertising pop-ups that won't go away, VPN that doesn't work, and numerous problems that customer service only gives you the run-around about.

I ignored the email, but saw a red mark by the product on my taskbar. When I pulled Norton 360 Premium up, everything was disabled. I get on the website to ask why this was happening, and it wouldn't let me in unless I turned on cookies for the website. I don't allow that ever, and it shouldn't prevent me from getting into chat. So I sent an email, and some inexperienced customer service rep tells me to click 'Help' and 'Subscription Status' to have my product sync with the subscription servers. What a crock. It only sends me back to the renewal page asking for money.

Those people have no clue what they're talking about and are trying to send me in circles again. They have no idea how their product functions and are always trying to send customers on wild goose chases. They need to turn my product back on and quit with the bullying politics & predatory capitalism... period. They can turn it off if I don't renew by the September date.

It's ridiculous how much norton antivirus tries to get you to upgrade for 2 - 3 times the cost and for what!? Only to be hounded to upgrade again? And for only an extra feature that SHOULD have been included in the most basic subscription to begin with!? Go ahead, unsubscribe to their daily emails about "upgrading" BUT Don't forget to shut off "Notification" settings about.... Can you guess it? YEAH! UPgrades! (Btw, hope you enjoy silencing notifications E V E R Y Day, that's the longest they allow you to do so.)

The most basic features on any other antivirus, ANYWHERE else is considered an extra $20 - $59 upgrade! I won't finish out my subscription with norton antivirus. I've been with them for about 50 days and it's getting WORSE! Want to have your browser protected? Great! Go for it... But it won't work on Brave Browser. In fact, it will only work on lol..Edge, Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else? Nope! Not happening! Don't bother with "LifeLock" WOW.. What another joke for a EXPENSIVE service. You can set your alerts on your bank acct apps and freeze your credit for FREE, and catch bad things happening faster than lifelock. Lifelock NEVER ONCE notified me that there was fraud on me... Yet, my bank alerts and frozen credit sure did! And remember, those..are F R E E!!

Norton/lifelock..Nooope! Uninstalling within 5 days, I don't care if I lose out on this useless subscription! BTW, UNCHECK Auto Renew!! When it is set, AND It IS by default, to "Auto Renew" they'll hit ya with FULL cost.. If you're not prepared for it, it can really cause issues. (Friend of mine had it done to him. He has the gamers version of norton.. Idk.. I don't play games online, but he said, he forgot to shut off auto renew, he didn't get ONE notification that his subscription was set to expire, 109.00 later he was already charged!

So, who am I going with instead of, "all flash and no sizzle" norton? I'm NOT going with MacAfee, that's for sure! Had them for 4 years, WILL N E V E R go back.. (Check the reviews, you know, the ones that in depth, not that are so vague that a spider's web would be able to catch more fakeness.) Tried, Kaspersky before I had mcafee, good.. Purchased their 360 subscription, I believe. It's bloatware, and you can't interact with the software without it finding somehow to "upsell" (i.e. force ads on you) their other products. And, of course, it'll randomly pop up ads on its own all the time. Gotta get those upsells! And yes, I have clicked on "don't show me this again" until my fingers (metaphorically) bled and have combed through the settings with a fine-toothed comb. Nevertheless... constant ads interrupting my work at every opportunity.

Performance is poor, especially on updates. Lately, it seems like every update has caused the software to crash and forced an immediate restart (or to continue browsing with no antivirus in place). And of course, they don't send a courtesy renewal when subscriptions are ending. Gotta make sure to get that one last payment from unhappy customers who forgot to set a calendar reminder about the renewal date, after all! Overall, ad-centric bloatware that absolutely refuses to run quietly in the background and intrudes on every aspect of the browsing experience. You can do better, for less money, and certainly with much less intrusion, elsewhere.

I am a current paid Norton 360 Deluxe subscriber. In late August, my Outlook e-mail program began generating an unstoppable stream of mysterious, unexplained draft outgoing messages without a visible addressee, subject line or text. I was able to stop the process only by restarting my PC, but after some time, it started all over again. I ran several Smart Scans using the Norton 360 software. None detected any threats. I then scanned my entire system…. Time duration 6+ hours...using the Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSERT), which detected and successfully removed 176 instances of hacktool.win32.keygen.

Due to this experience with my Norton 360 paid subscription, as well as its endless solicitations, both veiled and blatant, to “upgrade” or add features for which I have no need, I made repeated attempts to cause Norton, via e-mail, to explain this intolerable failure of its AV program and give it an opportunity to convince me to renew my subscription. A "customer support" representative finally called me at my insistence today, 11/4/2022, shortly after 1:00 PM EST...after first trying to pawn me off on a technician. She couldn’t think of a single word and failed miserably to defend the Norton 360 software. Worse yet, she was hopelessly unprofessional, discourteous, disrespectful, even rude, and customer-averse, constantly interrupting and trying to talk over me, without the foggiest notion of what the term “customer service“ means.

After the verbal exchange, I asked that I be sent a customer review form so that I could rate the experience with her, but am still waiting. Hence this public review. I have since cancelled my automatic Norton 360 Deluxe renewal, which would have cost $109.99, but subsequently entered a new one-year subscription for $39.99, only to avoid the hassle of switching to a different AV program. Immediately I called them and shared how unacceptable this is to renew a subscription and have money taken out of my account. All they could say was that they were sorry, yeah sorry my **. My original payment was through PayPal which they took the money from. Waiting and waiting to speak with a supervisor was a joke (yeah right). Finally, a sup said they took care of the cancel and apologized...hum...lots of apologies. 5 days later and I still have not received my refund. My credit union has no idea what is going on. After an even lengthier conversation I told the agent to cancel my service and I stated "I want nothing else to do with Norton", I removed Norton from my systems and contracted with a different company.

Today 9-6-2022 I received a text from Norton they were charging $199.00 to my card for renewal. On calling again, once again customer service agreed I had cancelled but stated if you remember you were told of the problems we were having canceling services so you must pay for the renewal and any charges occured. I will dispute any charges and file a legal complaint if it becomes needed. Stay away from them even though the service is suppose to be one of the best the customer service is the worst.

So, I contacted their (Norton's) tech support, they wanted my social security number, another credit card and my credentials. I saw this as a scamming attack and then they would hang up on me. I had to call over and over again. Then they told me that since I got my software from a third party, Walmart I couldn't get a refund from Norton's either. I had to go back to Walmart. I went to Walmart who told me that once I scratched off the code. I couldn't get a refund as part of Walmart policy. I contacted my bank about what happened to me and they said they couldn't stop my payment or refund me either. They said I should go back to Walmart and ask nicely for a return. So I contacted Nortons who re-instated they wouldn't refund me my full year's service I paid for but couldn't use.

They tried to me to extend my service I couldn't use. It was only when I told them to stop my service that they told me I could by the Norton VPN 360 for gamers (Deluxe) which could fix all my issues but nobody mentioned this until I asked to stop my service. At this point I neither trusted Norton's company, their staff OR their services. And they never did give me my money back. How can Norton sell products through 3rd party companies (customers) they can't use unless it's bought by Nortons directly. And you can't get a refund if anything goes wrong or be fixed.

Norton is the biggest scam ever. I have the Norton 360 Total Protection plan and I got a virus. Three times Norton tells me to uninstall and reinstall the antivirus software, which doesn't make sense to me. But I did twice, after the third time of being told to do this in a matter of a week, I said no, it is not working and seems like it's only letting whatever is on my system stay. They hung up on me. I chatted online with them after that so I didn't get frustrated and become abrasive. They told me that they would help me if I paid them more money to upgrade my account to include the support I needed. I did not expect Norton to be so greedy.

My computer became infected after their software informed me that there was an issue that needed to be resolved. I attempted to resolve the issue but it was unable to complete. I called and Norton said to uninstall and reinstall Norton's software. I did, and at that time my computer cycled through a relentless number of pop-ups and the screen went blank or would flash insistently. Norton told me that they needed to escalate the case to another team and I would receive a call within 24-48 hours. WHAT?!?! She also said that it was ok to use my computer since Norton is installed on my system and will protect It even though the popups continued. I did not receive a callback, so I chatted with customer service and they wanted more money, $149 to be exact, to even look at my computer.

I am so infuriated by this and want to share this experience with others so that you are aware that Norton's protection is not effective and that when you do have issues with the software, they are not there to support you, be accountable, and will seek more money from you. Because if you don't pay them, then you are stuck with whatever they let on your computer. I would definitely choose another Security software other than Norton.

I started noticing whenever I'd authenticate to go into the manager on my phone, it'd pop up the message it was locked and to wait 10 minutes. In doing so and on the second try, every time I would get in. Didn't think too much about it until today. Same thing happened. Tried 3 times and it threw me out of the app on the 3rd try.

Going back in for the 4th try and the app was going through prompts to set me up a new account. I immediately jumped on chat with a Norton rep and all I got was that I'll have to set up a new account and all my password and other data in manager was gone, lost, never to be recovered. Norton might be a good product for other consumers, but for me, using Norton has been more labor intense and time consuming than I preferred. (1) I have had no success with running the Password Manager on either my laptop or my smartphone. Tech Support walked me through it twice for the laptop and after 1+ years, I still cannot use it. (2) Anti-track has slowed the computer processing significantly (my browser is Edge) since it has been downloaded. It works well, but the processing speed is annoying. (3) Norton has blocked the SSA government website, indicating the site has not been verified to be safe. Maybe it was a fluke, but more time consuming again.

    (4) My biggest disappointment with Norton has been its Customer Service, over the past two days I have been on the phone for a good 3-hours and need to call back again in two hours for their Tech Support, as they are running server checks and could not help me with my account. Sadly, that is the same comment I got yesterday about calling back and for the same reason. I just keep getting transferred from one department to another and getting nowhere fast. And all I wanted in the first place was to cancel my subscriptions so they do not renew and here it is day 2 with nothing but getting the run-around. I was hoping for a Prorated Refund (terminating the account now), but it appears I have to keep the account open until the subscriptions run out and terminate on the December 2022 (would be) renewal date. Since Black Friday was coming up, I received an email from Norton advertising their software with deep discounts for the first year. I made the purchase through Paypal and attempted to download the software to my Chromebook. Since the hold was going to be long, I opted to use their chat function instead. I gave all information needed for each prompt and plainly said I wanted a refund since I had no use for the product. Of course they tried to get me to keep it for another device, but I already had a service on my cell and had no need for it.

Instead of cancelling and giving me a refund, they only cancelled the resubscription in a year. They tried to be slick about it, but when you purchase with Paypal and get a refund, you receive an email, I never got an email, so I had to hold on the chat for another agent to issue the refund. I had to give the same information again. The crazy thing is I had just purchased the software and they asked me for the order number after verifying my email address and phone number. Of course I had it but it just seemed a bit much. If I had not caught them not refunding me they would have kept my money. I buy (or did) Norton antivirus software at Staples every year on boxing day or black Friday at an 80% discount at Staples. I purchased a couple of years ago (10 uses for $29.95). To register the product it was necessary to enter a credit card number for an already purchased product. To avoid auto renewal at regular rate auto renewal needs to be turned off. We are already in predator territory here.

I did in fact turn it off. And did not make it to Staples for my 80% discount a year later. Upon doing so this year and entering my product code I found out I had been auto renewed for $140 for what I usually pay $29.95. And I had tuned auto renew off. So I was victim of a bait and switch. I did ask for a refund due to Norton's predatory policy and was refused. I wanted to return today's inexpensive Black Friday purchase for $40 for 10 uses as I no longer trust Norton. I was refused a refund by both Staples and Norton.

So I am left with no choice but to reluctantly use the service I paid for. If you buy Norton (and I would not recommend this) - after entering the product key click and turning off auto renew click on the chat icon in your account and ask for confirmation that auto renew is turned off in your account. And click on the transcript icon at top of chat for a copy of chat. It may be the proof you need to avoid highway robbery. The fact is that Norton anti virus auto renewal process IS IN FACT A VIRUS.

I have been a Norton customer for years, and am overall pleased with their service. Their communication system and refund policies, however, leave a lot to be desired. I underwent what most companies call a "life change" - my fiance and I started combining expenses. Because he had computer protection through another source with multiple seats that his children were also using, it made more sense for me - one person - to re-locate my computer protection to an empty seat on his plan that five others were using rather re-locate five people to my plan.

I tried to contact Norton voice support, but the automated menu would not connect me to a person. It ended the call three times when "too much background noise" prevented my response from being understood...yet all of my other responses were clear. I had to search the internet for the correct numerical sequence to bypass the system to be added to the queue for voice support. This was clearly an example of intentionally hindering customer interaction with a person.

When I finally reached an agent and requested a partial refund, I was told that since my automatic renewal was charged on 24 May 2021, the 60-day period for a full refund had expired. I clarified that I was not requesting a full refund and only wished a partial refund for the months I was not going to use. I was told that Norton did not do that. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the individual's available time to speak to me kept changing - first it was a couple of minutes, then it was ten minutes, and then it was she had no idea because of "meetings". This is a clear example of the individual's goal to force me to hang up the phone. I find this reprehensible.

The policy is unacceptably rigid, costing people who undergo situational changes outside of Norton's preferred schedule hundreds of dollars. The automated system's intentional hindrance with connection to a person, the company's policy, and the supervisor's treatment of me as a customer are unethical and disrespectful. I used to recommend Norton to friends or family looking for computer protection...as of today, that practice is over.

Issued a return through Amazon where I bought it, Amazon gave me a refund. Then I saw I kept getting info about their products so I went into my account to find out they had already charged me again. I called Norton and explained what happened and they assured me they "ALWAYS" send a renewal email. I looked through all emails through the time period (I always save and still have them) and there was none. I explained to Norton I was double charged for a product I can not use, then I was told It was Norton policy not to issue a refund. I asked if I could get a partial refund for at least the months I was charged and could not use? NOPE!

So I let my credit card company take care of it and they were also denied that refund. So basically I have been charged $140 for a product I can not use. This has been going on since 2019 as they still had never cancelled until my CC got involved in October 2020 and by now my official cancellation is not until August 2021. They highly encourage you to keep auto renewal of the service on by adding a PC utilities package to your subscription if you do, but one thing they keep hidden from sight is the cost of the renewal, which is 50% higher than initial purchase cost.

One thing I noticed throughout my subscription is that they tried to nickel and dime me with an added feature here and there, and it got super annoying seeing the ads for those products every now and then. Norton offers software to protect you from scammers, but their business model is set up to rip you off. Clever. They set it up to automatically renew, whether you want to or not. They don't tell you when your software is due to expire, and conveniently neglect to tell you they've charged you for another year, knowing many customers won't realize it. When you call customer service (overseas), their "representatives" read from a script that they "understand" your frustration but that it's too late to get a refund for a product you didn't want or use, because that's their "company policy." What a sham. I gave one star because zero stars wasn't an option. The UK market watchdog is suing Norton. Regulators in the U.S. should be suing them, too.

When I became very upset the customer rep couldn’t change what had been done. I advised I would be escalating my complaint to higher level as this was unacceptable. He called back and advised he had good news that we would be able to recover our password and have access to my mother's laptop for $99 USD. I said “really, after all this you're Going to sell me something else when we are trying to get away from this?” He said, "Well you can pay the $99 or figure it out yourself," then quickly apologized knowing his mistake. I spent the day downloading all the information I wanted protected (credit cards, bank accounts etc), then moved on to the family device monitoring section. I followed instructions to download parental monitoring for my 4 children's computers. All seemed to be working except one child's device seemed not to be "monitored" despite downloading the software correctly, as I had with the other 3 kids' devices. I called tech support and asked her why the one child's device was not being monitored. She proceeded to walk me through a series of steps that seemed very much like I was starting all over from scratch. I told her several times that I do not want to start from scratch but just need to find out about one of the 6 devices I was monitoring.

She did not listen to my query but seemed to be reading from a script and going down a pathway for a problem that I did not have. Her actions ended up erasing all the work I had done the day before and after 2 hours and passing the control of my computer to her, she had messed everything up so badly that she said that someone else will need to step in. She told me to call back and ask to speak with someone who specialized in Family monitoring part of Norton. I did and again waited 20" on hold and had to start over again. That person then told me that the previous tech person had logged on too many times and that I had to wait an hour to try again. He conveyed that he would make a note in the record that I was to be connected to a supervisor when I called back in one hour.

Keep in mind, that I have to wait on hold to be connected to a human being for 20 minutes minimum (and sometimes much longer). So then in the next call, the tech person said she is working from home and cannot remotely assist me and to try back in a few hours. It has been 2 days and my account is in complete shambles, no monitoring being done at all and I have wasted so so so so much time!! I wish I had never signed up with Norton. There are so many other parental monitoring programs - I will now start over with someone else and cancel my subscription with Norton.

    3) It measurably slows down the interoperability of many sites.
    4) Norton Secure VPN does not allow for consistent, reliable connections to services such as Quickbooks.

    5) It is so bad, that 3 of the 4 people for whom it was installed on laptops, desktops (both Apple and Windows), and mobile phones, have given up trying to use it.

When attempting to contact Norton for tech support, you wait on hold for 25 minutes, only to be connected with an off-shore call center which has a connection making the person whom you are speaking sound like they're in an auto-tuned music video. The wait time is an insult to you, and they obviously do not respect or value you as a customer. The fact that they have such low quality connections also demonstrates that they simply do not care about actually helping a paying subscriber.

When attempting to initiate a Chat session, you are routed in circles, filling out the same form over and over again, and never being allowed to actually initiate the chat. They have invested time and effort building a support database, but if your solution is not found, they simply have no interest in actually having contact with you. It would be bad enough if they simply had a poorly performing product, but to add insult to injury by raising prices, and then not offering actual support is offensive. I can not warn you away from this product strongly enough.

I was disconnected no less than 4 times after being placed on hold. I spoke to no less than 6 separate CSR’s. I truly believe that they do this on purpose because they fear retribution from their supervisors for losing a customer and/or handling an irritated subscriber. In less than 18 months they’ve charged me No less than 3 times totaling $204.00.

This is THE WORST experience I have ever had. Signed up in June after my husband and my identities were stolen. But couldn't get my husband's account to open. Only was able to access my account. Numerous calls to this company trying to figure it out. The wait time alone is about 40 minutes. Once you get connected to a rep and go through the whole issue, they tell you that they need to transfer you to Norton Lifelock as they are only Norton. Another 40 minutes to get to someone.

This literally took 3 weeks for them to get it figured out and hours - and I am not exaggerating here - HOURS on the phone with them. They sent me to their Cyber Security team to try and figure out why his account could not get accessed and then wanted to send me back to the tech team - the tech team wanted to send me to Cyber Security. Meanwhile, I hired this company to protect our assets and we couldn't access or protect my husband's holdings during this time.

At one point, I asked the rep to send me to a manager. The rep asked me why I wanted to talk to a manager. I told him because I am a paying customer and I want to speak to a manager now. He said - direct words, "it's not going to happen". He would not transfer me to a manager. We had to verbally give my husband's private information over the phone to a rep. What is secure in telling a complete stranger all of your financial information over the phone when this is information that is supposed to be able to enter in their 'safe' application. So we are now giving a total stranger all of my husband's personal information so we could at least have his information protected. They ended up having to delete his account and re-enter it before it worked. They gave us 3 months free for the inconvenience.

Then, the accounts they were supposed to monitor kept disconnecting. They send you an alert telling you this. Daily, I had to relink at least 4 accounts so they could continue to monitor it only to get another alert that they were disconnected again. They tried to tell me that the institutions that were dropping must be going through an update on their own site. Every day? And different accounts continually randomly dropping? My bank is going through an update every day? I don't think so. What good is a security company who is supposed to monitor any suspicious activity if they cannot stay linked to your information?

So I called and went through the whole process of waiting and being transferred and getting disconnected with this company. They tell you they will have someone reach out to you when it is resolved. A whole week goes by and we had to call them to find out the status. They give you a case number on the original problem but when you tell them what that is, they tell you that case number is closed.

I sent an email to the president of the company with all of my complaints. Never heard from him. On my daily calls - and yes, they were daily - to Norton, I was finally sent to a manager. Told him all of the issues and the lack of help and the no follow up. He assured me he would get things settled. Gave me his name - Josh and his ID number and that he isn't going to apologize about what happened because he believes in getting things fixed. Gave us another free month of service for the inconvenience. Said he was going to call me back in 48 hours. Never happened.

I called back wanting to speak to Josh. No one knew who he was. At this point, we had had enough. We'd only been with Norton for one month and it was a continuous headache with no resolution. We cancelled on July 9. Got the case numbers for both accounts. You'd think that would be the end, wouldn't you. Not with this scam of a company. My husband received an email stating his credit score was available on Norton. The account is supposed to be CLOSED. Called Norton demanding this account be closed. They weren't going to do it because they needed to speak with my husband (who was at work). I told them they'd better damn well close it as we called individually on 7/9 to cancel the accounts and we had the case numbers.

The only reason they closed it was because I was the one who was the primary account holder and used my credit card to pay for services. They wanted to know if we would be interested in keeping the service and giving us 40 percent off! I laughed. I've already been given 4 months of free service, now they are giving me 40 percent off to continue. I said absolutely not. They wanted to keep the account open for the free months we were to receive. I said absolutely not. I don't care if they gave me this service for free. It was a complete mess and they do not resolve any issues.

My uncle signed up when we did and he cancelled the same day we did due to all of what was happening, as well. My uncle prepaid for his year and they refunded the remaining balance. Then a month later, THEY REINSTATED HIM AND CHARGED HIS CARD. Had to call them again to remove that balance and told them this was a fraudulent transaction. They offered him a 40 percent discount to stay on and also were going to keep him on for another month.

I have warned all of my family and friends about this company and hope that you can dodge going with this company by my experience. We went with Identity Guard, which has been rated #1 for the past 10 years in customer satisfaction. I wish I had done my homework instead of listening to the continual Norton LifeLock commercials. Identity Guard is also about $300 cheaper annually than Norton, as well. You get a person on the phone immediately and they go through everything with you. I hope this is the end of my interactions with Norton Lifelock. Cannot stress enough to stay clear of this company.

As a subscriber for Norton Antivirus I tried to login in to the account and find the Auto Renew option so I could turn it OFF. I went thru all the their links and menus and could not find how to turn off Auto Renew. I sent them an email asking for the link to turn off Auto Renew and got no answer. So I decided to close the credit card that I have put for the Norton account. Precisely one month before my yearly subscription expired they tried to Auto Renew without my consent and of course the payment failed because I had already closed my credit card. Norton was trying to Auto Renew without me getting a chance to review what protection plan prices they decided to Auto Renew (normally they Auto Renew at the highest prices). This is not a good business practice so I have decided to uninstall Norton Antivirus and subscribe to another company.

Immediately after installing I noticed slower processing times on all applications, from web browser to Outlook to opening control panel - all indicated “....not responding” notices for several minutes before eventually opened. Seems to be very bad compatibility with Microsoft 365. Things are bad with iPhone app as well - as soon as it was installed I had difficulty opening websites because it said internet connection couldn’t be found. This happens when I’m several yards to just a few inches from my WiFi. Everything worked fine for years until I installed Norton 360 and then the issues started. Seems like a half-baked system and very poor and slow customer service. Since installing Norton 360 I’ve spent much more time on hold or with tech help folks. It’s a joke of a product from what used to be a reputable antivirus software company.

We used Norton Security Suite for years without any problems. In the past few months they decided to update their service by becoming Norton Lifelock 360. They sent emails saying they were going to start backing up our devices to their automatic cloud backup service etc. without even asking for our permission to do so. We do not want our devices backed up to the cloud. I tried emailing them about this and never got a reply. We cancelled the service and removed it from our devices, but we're still getting their annoying emails. When I logged on to the old account a few minutes ago, the site wouldn't let me access my account to stop getting the emails. Instead it insisted that I click on an Agree button to allow it to start monitoring me. I did not agree and exited my browser. This company has become extremely invasive and does not respect the privacy or wishes of their customers. We will never use them again.

Bought a digital key renewal at less than a quarter of the price that Norton were prompting me for. Installing the key to renew was difficult but not impossible. After renewal, it told me that I had 366 days left to next renewal, despite the fact that I had installed it 28 days before the old subscription expired, they stole 27 days from me. Tried to complain, twice, with no response, telephone complaints are impossible, as other reviewers have noted. Good product, hopeless organisation!

I did not consent to an automatic renewal of an annual subscription - especially because the software bogged down my computer. However, I was blindsided by a charge on my credit card. And after 4 hours on the phone, I was disconnected. I called a second time and was disconnected after 4 hours again. And there is no option to send an email or leave a message anywhere. So I was left with no choice but to dispute the charge on my card. Use Webroot or any other software - just not Norton.

I had to call 6 times in a row because I could NOT understand what they were saying, In other words they speak very poor English, And even then the customer rep had to look up my question answer, Thank God the store I purchase from let me return it for a full refund even after installing it and finding all the problems, And even after uninstalling norton some part were hiding on my my computer, Had to to clean swipe all the computers,
